Accessibility Clause: If I can’t navigate or easily read your blog, I won’t follow. Ditto for post formatting. Accessibility is important. On the flip side: if there’s anything I can do to make my content easier to enjoy, please don’t hesitate to ask. I am a player to values accessibility over aesthetic.

Duplicate Muses: I will not allow duplicates of my own muse to meet each-other. I will allow my characters to meet other oc Turbos but NOT other versions of the original. Ties into me not wanting to focus on the multi-verse, as elaborated on further down. I will, however, interact with multiples of other characters.

Regarding Live Action Icons: If you cannot tolerate that I don’t always use them, I am not a good partner for you. I spent time and effort into developing my artistic skill and use my own art for some graphics; please be respectful of that. I have zero interest whatsoever in getting a rl face claim for Turbo.

Shipping: Highly selective. I need to trust you. I need to be familiar with your vibe, which requires months of me sharing a space with you. I do not like to ship with cis straight male muns, sorry.

Actions have consequences in my RPs. I don’t kill without consent, but don’t expect me or my character to be a doormat. If your muse antagonizes or annoys mine, expect an appropriate reaction. This goes both ways; my characters may not be terribly nice. Feel free to respond to their behavior in kind.

Assuming Relationships: I don’t do pre-established relationships (that aren’t canon) at all. I build IC relations from the ground up. If you want to plot out some -basic- history, or a sort of outline, that’s fine, but nothing too in-depth to start with. No long-lost lovers, children or family members. Please do not attempt to imply relationships I haven’t agreed to. If you have a destination in mind for their relationship (i.e. eventual family figures), I’ll slowly work up to it thread by thread, but I won’t go all in at first before I know what their chemistry is like.

I Am Slow: Please be aware I’m a working adult who may have to go on hiatus for months at a time. I can be a slow RPer and may take a week or more to respond to threads regularly. I’m an old rper who’s already done that to death and am bored with it. Instead, I would suggest just a mutual agreement between partners that our characters come from the same universe. Or, if you really want your character to come from a different universe, please don’t make it the focus of the rp.

Digital vs Real World: “Players” somehow entering the digital world is okay as a plot point for face to face interaction reasons. But please don’t put my characters into the real world without plotting first.

Story progression is a thing. What your characters do will be remembered thread to thread. If we have a relationship between our characters in mind, I will generally try to work to get closer to it thread-by-thread. Also, there will be changes to the character on my blog as time goes on. Development happens. I am a roleplayer to likes to keep track of continuity.

Passwords give me anxiety. Sorry, lol: I’m not going to have my anxiety invalidated either. I don’t follow people with a password requirement in respect to that. Question! What exactly is march!eridan and? How was the reception towards june? Im sorry, I haven't been a part of the hs fandom in years

March!Eridan- or, more commonly, simply March Eridan- is a long-running fandom joke and fanon trope based on an image of Eridan crossdressing that was made for one of the official calendars, back in around... 2010.

Pictured here. The problem with this is that this was a "Man in a Dress" joke- an age-old transmisogynistic trope. Now, this doesn't say much about who the artist is as a person nowadays, as this is far too old to truly hang over their head, but... People took it and ran. It's been a running gag ever since the image was created. And the fandom was... Horrible about it, to say the least. People were using all manners of slurs with regards to its concept, many reacting to this image with nothing but pure disgust. And if people weren't turning the concept of a GNC guy into a laughingstock or making it out to be entirely repulsive, then they were horrifically oversexualizing him, despite his age- which, reminder, is 13 years old. It was awful, and I'm seeing the same shit to this day, even if it is on a smaller scale. It's just not kosher either way. It's not surprising at all that that's how people handled it in 2010. It's definitely a product of its time- which isn't an excuse, but absolutely a solid explanation. I really do expect better of people in 2023, though. Especially from people who claim to be "beyond" this kind of thing.

As for June's reception... God, it was awful. The amount of harassment that happened over whether her concept was even worth consideration was entirely unacceptable. No one could be normal about it. Even people who didn't care at all about canonicity and just liked the idea of June as a headcanon got lambasted. I'm honestly glad you weren't there to see it, it was all pretty sickening. I might not agree with how hardcore people will get about June's canonicity, but I do understand where that defensiveness comes from completely. It's hard to not go insane when you feel like the safety of yourself and/or your sisters is being threatened in a community you had grown to feel housed you in a way no other community really will. Getting defensive, having such strong opinions and boundaries regarding the whole thing... It's completely and utterly understandable. Natural, even. You and I would probably be the same way, had either of us been closer to the situation.

The Homestuck fandom's transmisogyny is a well that runs deep, and is about as old as the comic itself... I hate to see that it's continuing to this day. It's hard to be grateful that it doesn't seem to be as bad as it used to be, because the June situation really just proved how many people are closet transmisogynists... Even people who have outwardly progressive politics, or are trans themselves. It's disappointing, to say the least.

Also, saying this in advance: Most people tend to jump to insulting the original artist for March Eridan's art style or technique... Please refrain from doing so here, it's a childish and petty response to this conversation. There's nothing original or insightful one could say in insulting the quality their work. It's been done. Trust me. The pure acidic vitriol that the art and artist received was honestly mind-boggling.

looking for otome-based RP partners!

Hullo (hopefully future) friends! I’ve got a bit of a weird proposal.

(For anyone who saw the first one on my OTHER-OTHER side blog, this is redux, the 2.0, because that sideblog was TOO NEW to show up in tags and I am really hoping that this one shows up on this MUCH OLDER and REPURPOSED sideblog!) 

ANYWAY, here blog isn’t and probably won’t ever be an RP blog. I’ve RPed on Tumblr a lot in the past (mostly in the Homestuck community, a few years back) and while doing so was a lot of fun, it was also a lot of work! Maintaining pages, bios, graphics, etc, is all stuff I seemed to have all the time in the world for a few years back, but I find I really just don’t anymore.

Unfortunately, I don’t really know where to find RP outside of Tumblr and cherubplay (thanks again, Homestuck!) either, but Cherubplay isn’t exactly the greatest for finding anything outside of just raw-doggin-it-smut-fests and while that can be, uh, fun, it’s not really what I want to focus on when I RP.

So why am I here?

I’m hoping to find other people who don’t really have time to run an RP blog (or who do have time, but also might be willing to dip their toes into doing it on Discord, too, assuming you aren’t already!) for some good time plotting and roleplaying!

Which I guess brings us to the meat of this whole thing… (more, of course, under the cut!)

WHAT WILL WE RP?

I’ve been real keen on otome lately and I’m really looking to play some canon boys to your MC or OC! While I’ve certainly had my fun playing girls before (mostly in WoW, or other MMORPG settings), I find I always prefer to play dudes, and (if you’d pardon this bit of arrogance!) I think I can be pretty dang good at it!

While I do occasionally ship MxM, it’s really only something I do with my best bro, so I’m sorry to disappoint, but I’m really only interested in MxF pairings atm! I hope that’s okay with everyone.

COOL, BUT WHAT SERIES? WHAT CHARACTERS?!

I’d like to say I have a pretty healthy familiarity with a lot of otome, but I’m not sure I’d be the hottest at RPing them all! If it can’t be guessed by my avatar, I’m kind of on a Hakuouki kick right now, so I’m partial to that, for sure, but for ease of readability and so you can get a good idea of what I’m open to, I’ll list them in some nicely formatted order.

Hakuouki Characters

Okita :: Okita is tied for my personal favorite Hakuouki dude with Sannan, but I think I’d enjoy playing him a lot more than Sannan (which isn’t to say I wouldn’t like to play him, too!). I’ve always been partial to smirky, tease-y boys, especially when they’re struggling with confronting their feelings.

Sannan :: Sannan speaks to my love of polite but cold characters, and it’s only a bonus that he’s a megane, which I’ve also always loved! As mentioned above, he’s probably tied with Okita as favorite Hakuouki dude, but I think Okita’d be easier to play.

Kazama :: Kazama is fun because I’ve always had a love for garbage can style kidnap-and-seduce plotlines if that was your kind of thing!

Saito :: I love Saito aesthetically and his personality is pretty rad and I’d rank him as pretty up their on faves, but I admit I don’t have overmuch experience when it comes to awkward slow-to-open-up kinda boys! I’m sure we could make it work though.

Other dudes :: I’d be willing to try honestly most anyone from Hakuouki but these are the ones above are the ones I feel most confident/interested in playing! If you’d like someone else, you can most certainly ask, especially if you have some kind of plotline you’d like to see!

Diabolik Lovers

Oh baby, yeah I am totally into this hot hot dumpster fire!

Reiji :: As mentioned, I love megane, and Reiji’s probs my favorite of everyone in the whole dang series. Older? Check. Smart? Check. Responsible? Check. Cold? Double check. Really fucking mean? Check. Smirky? Well, in the games, yes!

Shuu :: Sorry Reiji, but I also love Shuu. I might make him just a twinge OOC because his laziness might make advancing the plot kind of headachey, but other than tht, I love this loser.

Subaru :: Subaru, contrary to his third place on this list, is probably pretty close behind Reiji for favorites. Aggressive, ill-refined, totally willing to fight everyone – I admit I tend to play the more well-spoken and calculating kind of characters more, but I’d be willing to rock Subaru for you to the best of my ability!

Ruki :: I won’t say Ruki’s my favorite of the Mukami brothers but I like him a lot and I think I’d play him well!

Everyone else except Azusa and Kou :: Spoiler: I love Azusa to death and find him adorable but I don’t really relish playing openly masochistic characters, so he’s a no go unless we can work something out! Kou is – no offense, but I just really do not like Kou. As far as the famous Sakamaki triplets go, Kanato is one of my absolute all time favorites, and I’d be willing to play him with the right person… but we all know he’s kind of an absolute nutbag, so I’m hesitant to dump that on anyone! Ayato is a staple and Laito could be… like Kanato, I think I’d have to feel pretty assured by my partner they could handle the grosser parts of his character. Open to exploring it, however!

Amnesia

I’m not gonna bother sectioning everyone into neat little areas cause there is so few, but Toma is my favorite (I’m a real sucker for yandere, whoops). I’d be willing to play him, of course, provided my partner was comfortable with it! I’d also be willing to do Kent (my second favorite!), Shin and maaaaaaybe Ukyo. Sorry, I didn’t really care for Ikki – not because Ikki was bad (he was actually cool!) but because fan girl route characters drive me BANANAS.

AND SO THAT LEAVES US WITH… WHAT WILL YOU PLAY?

Honestly, I’m gonna be real with everyone here: I love roleplaying because it’s like writing fanfiction with someone else, so it’s all the fun and self indulgence of fanfiction, but better, cause ya know – someone else is doing it with you! And I’m really here for the self indulgence, so please go ham.

Yeah, you can play the MC of the game, and I’d be cool with that! But honestly, I love OCs, and I’d love to hear about and plot with your OCs. I have some ideas for potential plots (especially for Hakuouki), but I’m also open to your ideas, too, and I think a lot of plots could work best outside the confines of a pre-established MC. Also, you get to show me your drawings/face-claims/whatever for your characters, and that’s pretty rad!!

Also, as someone had asked when I tried to post this on my previously non-functional blog, I’m also open to crossovers! I’m cool even if I don’t know much about the character -- you’ll just have to pardon my ignorance.

So, uh… RULES? RP STYLE? ETC? SOME POORLY ORGANIZED POINTS

+ Yeah, I’m deffo 21+ so ideally you would be too, especially if there’s anything like, remotely scandalous going on! I’m not too sure I feel very comfortable RPing with anyone younger than 18, mostly just because there’d be such a big age difference between us. Rest assured it isn’t because I think I’m better than you, or being ageist! It’s mostly just for my own sense of comfort!

+ Speaking of scandalous, I don’t push hard for anything super graphic unless that’s your style because I’m very much a person who loves drowning in the emotions of “holy crap does this guy really like this lady a lot”. I tend to be over indulgent as heck when it comes to inner monologues describing just how much your character makes mine’s heart go doki-doki, so expect a lot of that. If we start heading towards fuck-making of the graphic non-fade-to-black-variety, we should deffo discuss the sorts of things you discuss before those scenes! (Kinks? I GUESS???) But, as mentioned, it’s deffo not at all on top of my list of prerogatives. We need to BUILD for that!

+ My RP style tends to be 3rd or 2nd (lmao, Homestuck) person, present tense, a couple paragraphs to “oh my god, you can shut up now”. You can write however you like, with my only request being that you be passably literate! Not like, snootily literate. You get what I mean? I hope so. ):

+ As far as activity goes, I’m also fine with the Tumblr esque style of replying whenever you get around to it! If we both happen to be on for a barrage of replies, great! If we can only get one or two out a day, also great! I’m pretty easy going, honestly.

+ I love working in universe and also going mad with AUs. Find some cute starters or AU ideas on tumblr and you wanna throw them at me? I’m always open. From vampires where there are none to school AUs to coffee shop AUs I am willing to try most things, but note: I am primarily a fan of DRAMATIC ROMANCE so keep that in mind!

+ Want some kinda crazy love triangle where your lady is pursued by not one, BUT TWO DUDES? We can probably make it happen!

It has been months, Okita reminds himself. It has been months, and months, and more months on top of that – almost a year, maybe a little more, even, and as he sets his teeth behind that constant wolf’s grin, he thinks to himself: You should be better than this. You should be stronger.

But for all the time he’s spent with her, it has never gotten easier. No, no – it has only ever gotten worse, and it’s particularly bad now that he’s alone with her, now that she’s so close –

“Okita-san?” Her voice rings in his ears like a few plucked notes of some delicate string instrument, and he feels his lips part, his smile all teeth. She’s paused, midway between pouring him a cup of tea, and her eyes – ever and much too familiar – meet his with a hint of shyness Okita feels guilty for relishing. “Are you okay?”

“Worried about me, mn?” He rolls his head from one shoulder to the next, halfway between a shrug and a stretch, and tries very hard to resist the urge to pull her towards him, into him, that he might catch more of the rich perfume that lingers along the line of her throat. “You shouldn’t be.”

You should, he thinks, and not without a hint of guilt, be more worried about yourself.

Fandom OCs?

Hey there, Malcolm here! XD (transdude, 28, GMT/UK) 

A few fandom-y things, if I may?

I’ve been rewatching AtLA and LoK again, and I have a real craving to play OCs in this ‘verse once more! In particular, both these guys who would fit in either Aang’s era or Korra’s -

Meimei – Not her real name, but the only one she’ll go by. In wartime, she’s a middle-aged travelling jewel merchant in the Earth Kingdom. She’s a real Lady, practised in the ancient feminine art of crystal-bending, which requires precision and skill over raw talent.

In Korra’s time, she’s an old woman who owns a traditional boutique in Republic City and really wants a friend and student to teach her dying art and bequeath her store to.

Setsu – In Aang’s time, he was a young non-bending thief, on the run from his fire nation heritage.

In his alternate Republic City self, he sided with the Equalists intially when Avatar Korra first came to the place, and has had poor experiences with benders. Like others, he felt betrayed and used when Amon turned out to be a bloodbender, and currently runs a dojo for nonbending self-defense.

(He also moonlights as a killer of discriminating benders, but nobody needs to know that yet XDD)

I also have a parapalegic waterbender who uses bloodbending to walk and fears anyone finding out, an earthbender with ADHD, and a wartime Fire Nation deserter.

All of my characters are queer in one way or another, and I’ve got no problem with any sexualities.

However, if romance is on the cards, I DO need some time to get to know you and I will never ever do RPs that revolve around sex.

Also, I WANNA PLAY GEMSONAS WITH SOMEONE.I have a Citrine footsoldier, a Mistake (Druzy Quartz, if you catch that drift) as well as a Sapphire kind-of office worker and her Seed Pearl. Oh, and a Brown Lace Agate who has been trapped in a sword for a very, very long time, waiting for some human archaeologist to find and free them accidentally :)

Pre-Steven Universe or same Era Homeworld or else back during the Gem War, may it please ya. Also, if you have original ideas about Gem physiology and makeup, I would love to hear them. I’d also like to do some Homestuck fantroll shiz? Maybe? No SBURB? I know it’s a long shot so I’s only a footnote here, but it’d be cool as heckie!

Some notes: I usually try to at least check in with my RP partner daily, and it would be cool if that was mutual. I don’t necessarily expect daily posting, especially if you’re sick or busy, or if I’m sick or busy - hell, I had one partner where WEEKS would go by between our posts and that was awesome because we’d just read back and know what we were doing - but I love talking to my RP partners and getting to know them as friends! 

Nothing would make me happier than someone who doesn’t hear from me for a few days and drops a line to check that I’m still breathing. I do it all the time for my current partners, and while sometimes I’ve deliberately dropped a thread because I can’t think of what to post/ I’ve run into a block, it would be much easier to get back on the proverbial equine if I knew that my partner was still interested, too! Instead of just radio silence and me having to make the first move all the time. 

Dude, I will TELL you if I don’t want to play with you any more. If I’ve gone silent it’s usually just spoons, and knowing someone else gives a shit helps A LOT. 

Also, PLEASE APPROACH ME WITH YOUR OWN PLOT BUNNIES AND IDEAS. Nothing wears me down faster than someone going 'I dunno, what do you wanna do’. This trip oughta be a Fusion, not just two dumbasses who don’t know their seedflaps from their excretion chute XD

Fandom OCs?

Hey there, Malcolm here! XD (transdude, 28, GMT/UK) 

A few fandom-y things, if I may?

I've been rewatching AtLA and LoK again, and I have a real craving to play OCs in this 'verse once more! In particular, both these guys who would fit in either Aang's era or Korra's -

Meimei – Not her real name, but the only one she'll go by. In wartime, she's a middle-aged travelling jewel merchant in the Earth Kingdom. She's a real Lady, practised in the ancient feminine art of crystal-bending, which requires precision and skill over raw talent.

In Korra's time, she's an old woman who owns a traditional boutique in Republic City and really wants a friend and student to teach her dying art and bequeath her store to.

Setsu – In Aang's time, he was a young non-bending thief, on the run from his fire nation heritage.

In his alternate Republic City self, he sided with the Equalists intially when Avatar Korra first came to the place, and has had poor experiences with benders. Like others, he felt betrayed and used when Amon turned out to be a bloodbender, and currently runs a dojo for nonbending self-defense.

(He also moonlights as a killer of discriminating benders, but nobody needs to know that yet XDD)

I also have a parapalegic waterbender who uses bloodbending to walk and fears anyone finding out, an earthbender with ADHD, and a wartime Fire Nation deserter.

All of my characters are queer in one way or another, and I've got no problem with any sexualities.

However, if romance is on the cards, I DO need some time to get to know you and I will never ever do RPs that revolve around sex.

Also, I WANNA PLAY GEMSONAS WITH SOMEONE. I have a Citrine footsoldier, a Mistake (Druzy Quartz, if you catch that drift) as well as a Sapphire kind-of office worker and her Seed Pearl. Oh, and a Brown Lace Agate who has been trapped in a sword for a very, very long time, waiting for some human archaeologist to find and free them accidentally :)

Pre-Steven Universe or same Era Homeworld or else back during the Gem War, may it please ya. Also, if you have original ideas about Gem physiology and makeup, I would love to hear them.
