i truly am baffled by some of the cr fandom when it comes to the topic of the gods and c1 and death in general because. the raven queen didn’t kill vax. in fact she gave him more time. she Does get the blame from keyleth and some from vex but even those two by the end were more so just holding grudges wrapped up in their own issues that were exacerbated by vax’s choices. but it was always vax’s choice. which, y’know, i’m aware of a portion of the cr fandom’s propensity for dismantling every interesting choice a character makes into something forced upon them, but the role of fate in exandria has never been like bad faith you must adhere to the path chosen for you, it’s much more like what brennan has spoken about wrt specificity: as one makes more choices they become more particular to a given outcome. but that’s not some curse by the gods that dooms characters that’s literally just. what living is.

and of course death is a complicated thing that everyone approaches differently but. god the amount of people who view vax’s dynamic with the raven queen as an injustice or his death as some unforgivable thing the raven queen caused some how? in the words of laura bailey, Were We Watching The Same Orb? it isn’t an injustice that vax, completely willing to pay whatever it cost him to save his sister, was bound to the Deal He Agreed To. his role as the champion was one he found meaning and purpose in. further, it was the raven queen that allowed him to be resurrected later in the campaign. like, it isn’t fair that vax had so little time but it is time he chose and time he was given, but vox machina tends to fall on the reaping the benefits side of unfairness of power in exandria. if what makes the gods — particularly the matron of ravens — irredeemable is that they have the power to make choices that mortals can’t like denying someone’s resurrection, how irredeemable must the group of heroes called vox machina (whose members drop like flies to be revived moments later) be to the everyday person who just has to watch the people they love die and make peace with it?

of course it sucks that vax could not have a happy ending or epilogue like the rest of vm, except of course, vex has a family and is happy and loved, and keyleth is strong and alive and protected, and i think that looks a lot like what vax wanted most.

Dick. For the canon isn't real square I am Specifically talking about the Tom Taylor Nightwing run. Usually I ignore bad runs but given this one is ongoing (though about to end THANK GOD and get replaced by Dan Watters who i have high hopes for since i adored his Sword of Azrael (2022) run but i digress) so I counted it. Especially since it's so debated if that run is bad or not, for some reason. I'm a 90s Nightwing truther. I love Dick so dearly and tbh recently I've been more enamored with him the more I read his Discowing era, I didn't used to be as big of a Dick stan as I am these days.

Bruce. Honestly where do you even start with Bruce. I want to fist fight him and also patch him up. He got me into comics and superheroes as a whole but I roll my eyes whenever he shows up in a story. He's a bastard and usually not a good father but also complex and should be dissected under a magnifying glass. I love him dearly. He's also just the worst. I think that's why I love him. I'm always a fan of unabashedly Complicated Asshole Bruce who's generally not always the best person, particularly not to the Batfamily and that being the driving force of his relationships with them, especially in shipping.

And for bonus points, Tim. Because know above all else, I'm a Tim Drake kinnie /deg. He's been my number one for a decade and I've yet to uproot him from my brain. He's literally the Worst half the time and I love him for it. And the canon isn't real refers to Tim Drake: Robin because... that sure was a comic. And that's about all I can say about it. Pre-Flashpoint Tim I miss you so dearly. I think it's fun that I want to put him in a blender and drink the juice but also want Nothing Ever to happen to him.

I think the reason people get so defensive about how Imogen's powers are seen in Gelvaan is because they imagine themselves as Imogen, experiencing her drawbacks (headaches, isolation, negative attention). If, however, one were to imagine themself as a citizen of Gelvaan, it's pretty clear that, even if these powers were being used unintentionally, this would be extremely invasive and unsettling to experience! But really the clincher for me is that most of the people who make this argument (that Imogen's powers are primarily a burden to her and aren't that big a deal the people of Gelvaan are just haters) have me blocked and won't DM me their personal information on demand.

overall im really quite proud of this, i started this out as just a loose sketch not rlly knowing if ill even finish it bc of how complex the thing is, but i somehow did it???? yay?????????? the perspective/sizing of objects is a liiiittle wack n i kinda lost steam when doing the dead clones n it SHOWS lol but whatever, this is still the most complex piece ive dont in FOREVER, and also i am really patting myself on the back for the fucking ship. like JESUS first of all i had to rewatch the black paladins n take a fuck ton of screenshots to decide what parts of the cloning facitlity or whatever it is to include, n then i had to DRAW IT and it was SUCH A PAIN but! after i laid down the sketch n blocked in the colors it went surprisingly well?? and also this whole piece was done with almost no multiply layers for shading, i did most of it '''''by hand''''', so thats just yknow. another thing i put much more effort into than usual but i think it payed off, theres only so much u can do w multiply, sometimes you just gotta go in and draw the fucking shadows yourself!!!!

(i suppose this could thechnically be funky guys related, i can def see it fitting into that aus world, it can absolutely be interpreted as buddy right after the events of the episode, but i do kinda like to imagine it as an entirely seperate thing? like a bleaker timeline where no other clones survive the crash and kuron slowly dies from untreated wounds, malnutrition, dehydration and exposure<33333 yay!)
