Angst+fluffy Luffy x reader where the reader almost dies! Like, after a battle reader faints and luffy gets worried sick cuz he remembers of Ace death
Doctor!
LUFFY X READER! FLUFF + ANGST!
“Come on (Y/N)!” Luffy grinned as he dragged you towards the island’s main plaza. “Luffy, we're supposed to be undercover… Nami warned us how this island is one of the Navy’s bases,” you warned as you continued following your boyfriend.
But he continued on towards the main plaza, hoping to find a food cart. “We’ll be fine, plus you’re with me! I won’t let anyone hurt you,” he smiled as he grabbed your hand. “Plus you’re just as strong as me, so we’ll be fine!” He added. You playfully rolled your eyes and nodded.
“Finally! The plaza!” He smiled. “Oh look, they have ramen over there. Or takoyaki there! Or cotton candy there!” He said excitedly as he scanned the different food carts. “Did you even bring bellies?” You asked. You quickly noticed him freeze up. “I’ll take that as a no…” you sighed.
You watched as he slowly turned to you with the biggest puppy eyes. “Luffy…” you sighed. “Ok then I guess we can go back to the ship,” he moped as he walked past you. “Oh shut up, you know I’m gonna buy you something,” you rolled your eyes. You watched as his mood changed in an instant, “Thanks! That’s why you’re the best girlfriend in the world!” He smiled as he pulled you into a tight hug. “Yeah, yeah… you owe me Straw Hat,” you smiled. “I’ll give you one of my takoyaki!” He smiled as he dragged you back to the carts. “Just one?” You asked yourself.
After you watched Luffy eat 2 bowls of ramen, 4 orders of takoyaki, and 1 bag of cotton candy… because you didn’t want to deal with a sugar rush. It was finally time to head back to the ship.
“That was good,” Luffy burped, as you both walked down the path. “Yeah, the ramen was pretty good. But I think I’ll always prefer Sanji’s,” you replied. “Yeah, that’s true!” Luffy smiled. You soon arrived to the cliff where the crew hid the ship and noticed it was gone.
The ship’s hiding spot was now filled with soldiers, and Navy ships.
“Did we go the wrong way?” Luffy asked. “No, this is the spot. Maybe some soldiers found them and tried to trap them,” You told him, worried for your friends. “Do you think they escaped?” He asked. “Franky, Brooke, and Usopp stayed behind, I’m sure that Franky was able to escape from them. Plus they’re probably waiting here, hoping to catch one of us who stepped into the island,” you explain. “Well let’s go look for them,” he said.
“No, we should go back into town,” you said, stopping him from running off. “Why? The ship is missing!” He shouted. “Because what if the others don’t know that the ship was found. That means the Navy knows we’re here, so they’re probably looking for them. We have to warn them, we have to find them before any soldier does,” you explained. “But…” he trailed off.
“Come on Luffy! Plus Franky has gotten us out of a bunch of bad spots, I’m sure he did it again! We need to find the oth-“ you stopped yourself. “(Y/-“ you quickly placed your hand over his mouth. “Shh,” you whispered as you heard some faint footsteps.
But it was too late. “Well, well, well… I thought I saw something on top of this cliff,” you heard a booming voice from the trees. You looked over and saw a large bald headed man in a suit. With around 10 soldiers behind him. “Crap…” you muttered. “It’s fine (Y/N), we can handle the- HEY!” Luffy yelled as a net shot at him.
“Luffy?” You called out and noticed your boyfriend struggling inside the net.
“Sea prism net, it works great when someone’s not expecting it,” the bald headed man laughed. You rushed over to Luffy without thinking, “I-I’ll get you out!” You stuttered. “(Y/N) no! Behind you!” He shouted weakly.
You quickly turned your attention back to the group and realized they were closing in on you two. “I’m sure bringing you two in would promote me to Vice Admiral,” the bald man said. “(Y/N) please run,” Luffy begged. You shook your head, “I got this, we’re ok when we’re together,” you said determined as you rose up and turned your attention towards the troop.
You were a weaponist, but all you had was a small knife. You pulled it out and the soldiers began to laugh. “That’s it? You’re planning to take us all down with that?” The man laughed. “Yep,” you said softly, before charging at one soldier who was still laughing.
You sliced him up and kicked him towards a small bunch of soldiers. Causing them to be knocked over. “Fire! Fire!” You heard one of the soldiers shout. You leapt into the air and avoided any gunshots.
You landed on another soldier and sliced up his face. You continued to cut up as many of them as you could while knocking others into one another. “How are you men still having trouble with this girl?” The tall man yelled. You raced towards Luffy and began cutting at the net, but it won’t budge. “(Y/N)… behind…” you heard Luffy say. Before you could turn around you were quickly grabbed from your hair and yanked up.
“You’re a lot of trouble for a little girl,” the man growled. “D-Don’t touch her…” Luffy said weakly as he slowly thrashed under the net. “Like you can talk! Like I said… you’re a lot of trouble, so I’m dealing with you now before you can get loose again,” he said menacingly. You squirmed and thrashed, trying to rip yourself out of his grasp, but nothing worked.
“Well good thing the flyer says alive or dead,” the man said as he lifted his sword. Before he could hurt you you jabbed the small knife into the hand that held you. The man screamed and you rushed towards Luffy.
“(Y/N) please… run,” he begged. You shook your head, searching for the strings that kept the net tied. “You bitch!” You heard. You ignored his words and finally found the knot to the net, you sliced at it with your knife and opened the net.
You smiled as you were finally able to free your boyfriend. “Luff…y,” you gasped. You felt a sharp pain pierce through your torso. “(Y/N)!” You heard, but your hearing was slowly being taken over by a sharp ringing.
Luffy’s POV
I stared in shock, but before I could think I landed on the guy that hurt her. My fists pounding on his face, until he’s unrecognizable. Before I become too caught up on him I quickly turn back to (Y/N).
She’s laying on her back holding onto her wound. I rushed over and slowly picked her up. “(Y/N)! Hey, I’m here, I’m here. You’re ok now, I-I just need Chopper. He’ll fix this! S-So don’t worry… fuck!” I panicked as I raced towards the plaza. I need a doctor, any doctor. She can’t die, I won’t let her. I thought as I raced through the forest.
I made it back to the plaza and scouted the area for
Chopper or for anyone. “I-I need a doctor…” I choked out. People began to stare at us with worried looks. “I need a doctor!” I screamed. “Please! Anyone! Please!” I cried out. Residents stared at me with panicked looks as I ran around, hoping to find someone to help. But no one stepped up, they all just stared.
My legs felt weak, and I fell to my knees, still holding her. My vision is too blurry, “Please anyone! I’m begging you! I can’t let her die!” I begged as I pressed (Y/N) closer to my chest. She can’t die, she’s supposed to be with me forever…
“Follow me!” I heard a voice call out. I snapped my head towards the voice and noticed an older man in front of a building, motioning over towards him. I jumped up and raced over, “Can you save her? Please tell me you can save her!” I shouted. “It seems she’s lost quite a bit of blood… but hurry and set her down inside! We can’t waste any more time!” The grandpa demanded and I ran inside and placed her on a small white bed that was inside the tiny office.
I watched the man rush over to (Y/N) and began placing pressure on her wound. “Hold this, she’s going to have to do an emergency surgery. I need to get ready!” He instructed and I rushed over to take his spot. After a few minutes he was back with gloves and tools. “I can take it from here, go wait outside,” he said. “No! Let me-“ he interrupted me. “I said get out! I need total concentration!” He yelled. I hesitated, but forced myself to go outside.
I sat outside and stared at the dried blood on my hands. “I should have protected her! What kind of capt- what kind of boyfriend am I?” I cried out. “It happened again! Someone I care about… I couldn’t save them…” I said as my hands snaked. “Luffy!” I quickly looked up and saw Nami, Sanji, and Chopper. “Y-You guys…” I said softly. “We saw the Navy ships, and- i-is that… blood?” Nami asked. “Where’s (Y/N)?” Chopper asked worriedly. “S-She, I… I couldn’t-" I was interrupted with a kick, sending me flying back.
Sanji grabbed me by the collar, “Where is she? If something bad happened to her…” he trailed off. “Sanji!” Nami called out.
“Now I’m not sure if this rowdiness is the best thing for your friend right now…” a soft voice said. We all turned and saw the old doctor standing at the entrance of his office, wiping his hands. I shoved Sanji off of me, and raced over to him. “How is she? Is she ok?” I asked. The doctor stared at me for what felt like a century. “She’s… she’s fine my boy,” he said as he patted my shoulder.
I lunged onto the grandpa, “Thank you… thank you for helping her. I thought I would lose her,” I cried. He patted my back, “Well she’s a tough gal, a little too tough,” he smiled. “She’s already awake,” he said softly as he pulled away. My eyes widened, “Can I see her?” I asked. “Hmm… well I’m sure a quick visit wouldn’t hurt…” he said softly as he led us into his office.
As soon as I walked in, I rushed over to her. She was sitting up, looking out the window. “(Y-Y/N)?” I choked out. She jumped from my voice and slowly turned towards me, she then smiled once our eyes met. “Luffy,” she said softly. I rushed over to her and collapsed, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I should’ve done better, I’m sorry, please don’t leave me…” I cried onto her lap. I felt a soft hand play with my hair, “Stop acting like I’m dead, I’m fine. Just a little scratch,” she giggled. “I love you,” I said softly. “I love you too,” she smiled as she wiped my tears.
“(Y/N)!” Chopped cried as he hopped onto her. “Hi guys,” she smiled. “Are you ok?” Nami asked as she shoved me out of the way. “I’m fine, just a bad scratch,” she smiled. “Well good, or else I would’ve killed your boyfriend,” Sanji said. “So, let’s go back to the ship?” (Y/N) asked. “We found it on the other side of the island!” Chopper said. “Well I’m not so sure she should be moving yet,” the grandpa said. “I can carry her,” I said. “Well… the Navy is looking for you now…” he muttered. “I’m a doctor as well, and I know this isn’t the best thing for the patient right now. But if anything happens I can take care of her!” Chopper explained. “Well alright then,” the grandpa said. We all nodded and prepared to safely transport (Y/N) back to the ship.
… Nighttime…
I never left (Y/N)’s side, as soon as we arrived at the ship she fell asleep and hasn’t woken up since. I even missed dinner to make sure she doesn’t wake up alone. After a few minutes she slowly opened her eyes. “Luffy,” She smiled. “(Y/N)!” I smiled back. “Have you been here all this time?” She asked me. “Yeah, I didn’t want you to wake up alone. I also… wanted to make sure you were ok,” I said softly. “I’m sorry (Y/-“ she interrupted me. “Stop, I wasn’t careful enough. I’m ok, I promise,” she said as she cupped my cheek.
“I know but I was so scared, I thought… I thought I was going to lose you like-“ I cut myself off. “I know and I’m sorry for scaring you, but you found me a doctor right?” She asked. I slowly nodded. “So you saved me, and I’m very grateful,” she said as she pulled me into a soft kiss. “Just… always keep your weapons bag on you at all times,” I say. She laughed and nodded. “I’ll keep an extra set of weapons on me too, just in case,” I said. “Sounds like a deal,” she smiled. “I love you,” she said. “I love you too,” I said as I gently pulled her into a kiss.

Love is not a real thing | Calum Hood x Reader (she/her)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Autor note: I wrote this based in something i read on the 5sos wikipedia when i started to stan them that said that calum didn't believed in love
Also, sorry if there's any grammatical error, english Is not my first lenguage.
summary: you were friends with 5sos even before they started the band, Calum Is your best friend and to be honest you always had a tiny crush on him, until some time ago where your feelings started to grow stronger.
The problem here Is that calum wasn't a love believer, he would always complain about how hard relationships and love in general Is, just because he had some failed relationships for dating mean ass people.
But maybe..
Just maybe
You could make him think otherwise
Warning: dramatic confession, fluff too much fluff lol
Tumblr media
Pov Y/N:
I would be lying if i say that i didn't felt anything for Calum, i've been having this weird feelings since we met, not so long ago i realized that i was in love with him.
But it was late now, we already have a strong friendship, telling him about my feelings would be like throw me off a cliff and im not willing to risk my treasured friendship for just some silly feelings that probably are just something that i would forget about as soon as i met someone else, right?
But i couldn't help it.
Sometimes i would just watch him exist when we hang out with the boys, getting lost in his eyes or just admiring his features, fantasizing about pressing my lips against his or whisper into his ear how much i loved him
A voice took me out of my thoughts
"Y/N, you okay? You have been dissociating for 20 minutes now"
Ashton said with a confused and worried expression
"yeah, everything's okay"
I took a sip of my drink and tried to catch up with everything the boys have been talking about, remembering the old times and getting nostalgic since the other day i was going to move to Nashville
calum was a little more quiet tonight, i tried not to make eye contact with him since i sweared that he was almost staring into my soul.
Luke turned towards Calum
"what's up with your love life, cal pal?"
"nothing new, mate, you already know how i feel about the whole love thing"
"what about you, Y/N?"
Luke asked me making me get out of my thoughts once again
"what about me...?"
"do you have a partner?"
Calum asked being straight forward
"uhm.. no i don't"
The topic stayed there and we didn't touched it again for the whole night.
It was past midnight when we decided that we should leave the bar.
Mostly because Luke and Michael were getting a little bit too tipsy.
Ashton offered to take them home, leaving Calum and me alone.
"i'll text you when i get home"
I was planning on walking back home, i needed some fresh air and a little walk won't hurt anyone.
"where are you going?"
Calum said with his arms crossed sightly raising his brow
"to my house..?"
"without me?"
Calum said sightly teasing before wrapping one of his arms around my shoulders as we started walking
"thanks for coming with me"
"whenever you want, rockstar"
as we walked towards my place we talked about a lot of random topics, sometimes we were even stopping our tracks to just talk
Like if we never wanted to arrive my place and end this night.
However, sooner or later that was going to happen.
we arrived to the front door of my house.
I unlocked it and turned to look at Calum.
"thanks for the walk"
"no worries, mate"
He waved at me and turned around as he started walking away.
It was now or never
"Calum!"
He stopped his tracks and looked at me
"hm?"
"..."
I took a deep breath trying to find the correct words
"i.."
"i love you"
His eyes widened sightly and then he smiled kindly
"love you too"
He turned around and kept walking away.
What the hell have just happend..?
He thought i said it in a friendly meanor..?
I noticed that it started to drizzle, i just hoped he would get home safe and dry at least.
Tumblr media
Pov Calum:
I left Y/N's house as soon as i could, even if i didn't meant to but i just felt like i needed to leave running out of there.
I felt my breath heavier, a huge weight over my shoulders and how my heart was beating like if it was going to get out of my chest at any moment.
It was just a simple, friendly "I love you" right?
I shouldn't be overthinking it that much, but i couldn't help it.
There was something in they way she said it that it made it have so much power over me.
I arrived to my place and just lied on my couch looking at the ceiling just trying to think of something else, but my thoughts always leaded to her, to Y/N.
The question flooded my mind "what did she meant by that?" Was she just being friendly? Or was she flirting with me?
I started to get frustrated because i had so many questions and not a single answer
I would be lying if i say i haven't been some kind of attracted to Y/N lately, but i feel like she's completely out of my reach, not only because she's one of my best friends since forever but because i feel like she's too much for me, i wouldn't be able to give her what she deserves, and i would end up messing everything up like i always do in my relationships
However
I needed to get it out of my chest, we hated having secrets between us, after all, she was moving to Nashville tomorrow and it was my last chance.
I stood up, took my car keys and opened the door to leave my house and go to look for Y/N
What i didn't expected was to find her there right in front of me under the rain
"Y/N?"
She interrupted me
"when i told you that i love you"
"i was being serious"
"Cal, if im going to leave i think you deserve to know what has been through my mind lately"
"i.. i think i developed feelings for you"
My eyes widened, the hell we actually shared braincells..
"Y/N-"
"don't say anything i don't want answers, i just want to get this out of my chest"
"i really like you Cal."
"im not saying we could be something like boyfriend and girlfriend because i don't know how you feel about this and also the fact that you say "you always mess up" in relationships and that you don't believe in love"
"and that's what i wanted to talk to you about"
"you sticked to the idea that you are not worth of love and that you always mess up your relationships and it ends up happening just because you are constantly thinking about it. And i hate seeing you torturing yourself like that. You are worth of love Cal, you are a good partner, you are everything anyone would wish in a relationship"
"and im sick of you not believing me, you think you always mess up because you think you are "too boring" or "too simple"
"When in reality you are not anything of that, and your exes just couldn't actually see who you really are and what you actually worth"
"you are the most talented, kindest, funniest, and romantic person i know and i can't stand you not believing that because some bullshit people made you think otherwise"
Her voice started to break
'i just-"
"i wished you could see yourself like I see you so you could understand why i like you so much"
"i wish you could see that love Is a real thing, that love Is not really what you think it Is"
"i wished you could give me a chance to prove to you that you never were the problem and that you just needed to find the correct person.."
I felt a knot in my throat i just needed to hug her and cry in her arms, i needed to hear that so bad.
I just didn't thought that hearing it from her could be so relieving
There was a long silence between us while i was trying to find the correct words to say.
Suddenly she took a step closer
"Calum.."
I looked at her
"promise me that when you fall in love again.. you'll think about what i told you
And promise me that, in that case, you would be positive enough to make things work"
"Y/N.."
My voice breaking
"i promise i would be positive enough to make things work between us"
"wait wha-?"
I didn't wanted to hear anything more, I cupped her face with my hands and kissed her without warning.
At first i felt her tense, she didn't expected me to do that, but then she gave in and kissed me back.
some seconds after we both pulled away and i pressed my forehead against her's
"am i being too dramatic if i say you might be my end game?"
I said with a silly little grin in my face
"kind of, but that's what i like about you"
Tumblr media
Pls reblog if you liked this, you would help me a lot
The fics requests are open btw! Tysm for reading <3

EMMMMMMM! i know you love cliff hangers you always do them :(((( !!! but like still amazing holy crap
yes yes immediately yes. another part for sure!we need will and sam to finally talk
PART 7!!!! (yes there will be more and as many parts as y'all want this to be) here's also a small moment of will dropping eveyrthing for samy, but it will also be in the next part as well 😌
au masterlist
part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6
"hello?" will breathed.
"will?" a wave of relief washed through him when he heard samy's familar voice on the other end.
"samy? h-hi.." he was at a loss for words that he couldn't say anything other than hi despite the million questions running through his brain.
"h-hi. i-i'm sorry this is..i haven't called," samy started and will could hear the edge in her voice which made his heart break.
"let's go boys! on the ice!" coach warsofsky called into the locker room, his loud voice making the blonde cringe and curse to himself because this phone call really couldn't have happened at a worse time.
"shit, are you at practice right now? i-i'm sorry..i totally forgot..i can call back?" samy began when she heard his coach through the phone. shit.
will knew he needed to get on the ice or else warsofsky would make him do lines, but he couldn't just hang up now—not when he was finally hearing his girlfriend's voice after a day of not hearing anything. plus, he knew one of the reasons samy probably didn't call until now was because she didn't want to distract him from hockey.
"come on, pick it up! pick it up! we have a long practice ahead of us!" warsofsky boomed again as more of will's teammates filed out of the locker room.
fuck it.
will dashed out of the locker room through the other exit. he scrambled into the hallway where he nearly fell over from his skates still on and the blade cover hitting the tile. "no, no..i can talk. i promise. it's good to hear your voice..i-i was worried," will admitted softly, sinking onto the ground where he pulled his skates off.
"y-yeah. sorry. i'm sorry. i should've called. i don't know i didn't. i just–"
"are you okay? luke told me about your surgery," will cut the brunette off because even though he was upset that she didn't call him, he needed to make sure she was okay first and foremost.
"uh, yeah. i'm okay. just a tendon tear. nothing serious," samy swallowed, glad will couldn't see the anxiety clouding around her while she glanced around the hospital room and luke pretending not to listen.
"a tendon tear is kind of serious..you didn't get up off the field," will said more as a statement.
"i-i..yeah..but i'm fine now. i promise. it just kind of knocked the wind out of me, but i'm fine. i promise," the girl said like she was trying to prove it to herself too.
"i'm glad you're okay. i was really worried about you," his words made samy feel even guiltier, especially because of the soft tone he was using with her even though she expected him to be mad she didn't call sooner.
"i know. i'm sorry. i should've called," the youngest hughes admitted, head hanging low.
"why didn't you?" will asked, his voice still soft which made samy cringe.
"i just..i didn't wanna bother you knowing you're still getting settled into the team and the season..i didn't think it mattered because i'm fine now and it wasn't anything serious like i was dying or something," the brunette admitted again.
"of course it matters. you matter to me. you're my number one priority," his words brought a bright blush to her cheeks.
"you just have so much on your plate..i didn't wanna burden you. didn't wanna..put too much on you and make you run out or something.." samy mumbled the last part and will was pretty sure he felt his heart shatter into a million little pieces hearing her say that.
"you thought i was gonna..leave you again?" the crack in his voice hurt. a lot.
"i dunno..maybe? i didn't wanna.. be too much or something."
the silence engulfed them whole. will pulled a hand through his hair as he struggled to find the right words and samy bit back more tears threatening to escape.
"you know i'd never leave you again, right? i love you, samy. a lot more than i can even begin to explain," finally, will said something while trying to keep his voice from cracking even more.
"i know that."
"you're not a burden to me, i promise. you're the only thing i think about all the time so there's no way you'd be too much for me. if anything, i'm too much for you," his attempt at a small joke made both of them laugh.
"i love you, will. i'm really sorry i was scared to reach out. i guess it's just been hard..trusting again," the brunette mumbled a bit ashamedly and that broke will's heart again knowing samy was still trying to trust him.
before he could respond though, the door next to him burst open and he snapped his head up. macklin stared down at him looking wide-eyed. "there you are, smitty. you gotta get on the ice. coach is looking for you," the brunette rushed out and will knew he needed to go for real this time.
"yeah, okay. i'm on it. tell him i was in the bathroom," will said and macklin nodded as the two hurried back into the locker room.
"i'll call you again, okay? i love you," will said to samy still on the phone.
"yeah, okay. sorry for keeping you. i love you," and that was it. they hung up and the blonde quickly rushed to the rink before he got in even more trouble.
later, while will waited for macklin to finish up his shower, he was on his phone searching plane tickets and the fastest he could get out to michigan. samy's admission earlier broke his heart and he hated she still felt that way, so he wanted to do everything he could to prove to her that she did matter to him and she wasn't a burden.
he found the tickets that would get him out by tomorrow morning and into michigan that afternoon. he glanced up at his teammates and coach's office—he'd get killed if he just left without warning for a few days. he probably wouldn't even play.
but will needed to see samy. he needed to prove to her that he's drop everything for her no matter what.
so he bought the tickets in a few quick taps and they were in his email a second later.

December 5th: kidnapping.
Warnings: kidnapping, blood, stalking, possessive behavior, obsessive behavior, Yandere stuff.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was snowing outside and you were on your way home from your parent's house. Christmas Eve night had gone horribly for you, your sister stole all the attention when everyone was unwrapping gifts, and no one even noticed when you left.
This always happens, I don't even know why I'm surprised?!
As you were thinking to yourself you didn't notice the sharp turn you had to make until then last minute, but it was too late. Your car slid on the ice and into a ditch, resulting in you hitting your head and passing out. When you woke up you were still in your car but your car was turned off.
What happened?
You stumbled out of your car to see the damage.
I'm going to need to call a tow.
As you reached for your phone you saw headlights in the distance before they stopped beside you.
“Are you okay miss?” A large man with a beard asked as he rolled down his passenger side window.
“I…I d..don't know,” you shuddered as you looked around. “I was trying to get home from my parent's house and didn't see the turn and my car….”
You couldn't finish your sentence as tears started coming out of your eyes.
“I’m Cliff, why don't you get what you need out of your car, lock it, and I will give you a ride,” the man said before parking it on the side of the road next to yours. “I’ll help you get your stuff.”
Once you got all your important stuff out of your car and into his pickup truck, you locked your car. As you sat in the passenger seat you felt lightheaded again before passing out. When you woke up for the second time you were in a soft bed with a comfortable blanket on top of you.
Where am I?
It took you a second before you remembered the man who helped you on the side of the road. When you got out of bed and noticed that there was a mirror, this was your first time seeing yourself after the wreck even though your head was wrapped in bandages you were still a mess, your hair was everywhere, and your body had bruises and dried blood. You also noticed that you were wearing one of his shirts.
I should probably call the towing company.
You walk out of the room and are hit with the smell of food, following the smell to the kitchen. When you walk into the kitchen you see the man cooking something that smells wonderful.
“Hey, um I should probably call the towing company and get out of your hair,” you said as you played with a strand of your hair. “Thanks for your hospitality.”
“You can't leave,” he said as he turned around to look at you. “The towing company is closed.”
“Oh, yeah,” you mumbled as you realized it was still Christmas Eve and most places were closed. “Do you know when they will be open?”
“They won't be open tomorrow but they will be open the following day,” he said as he went back to cooking the food. “You will have to stay the night here and in the morning I will pick up your car with my truck.”
“Thank you but I already made you go out of your way!” you said while trying to reason with him.
“It's fine,” he said while taking the food off the stove. “You need to eat, you lost a lot of blood.”
“What did you do with my clothes and stuff anyway?” you ask as you sit down at one of the chairs at the handmade table.
“I put them on the sofa,” he said as he put a plate of food in front of you. “After dinner, if you want to take a shower you can in my bathroom.”
“Okay,” you said as you started eating. “But all my clothes are in my bag and that's in my car.”
“That's okay you can wear the clothes I put you in earlier,” he said while sitting down beside you. “I didn't want you to be stuck in your bloody clothes from before.”
“Thank you,” you said as you continued to eat. “For all you have done for me.”
“It's not a problem dear,” he said before he started eating. “I don't mind.”
After dinner, you took a nice long hot shower before getting dressed in his platted shirt, your underwear, and bra. As you left the bathroom you saw the lumberjack getting ready for bed.
“Sorry, but I don't have a guest bedroom and I don't have any spare blankets for you to use if you sleep on the couch,” he explained while looking at you with a nervous smile. “So we will have to sleep in the same bed.”
“That's okay,” you say as you walk over to the bed. “I don't mind if you don't mind.”
Once the conversation was over you both crawled into bed and fell asleep. When you woke up you noticed that he was still sleeping.
Should I wake him up or let him sleep? I will make breakfast since he made dinner!
You silently got out of bed and made your way to the kitchen so you could start making breakfast. As you were making breakfast you felt two big strong arms wrap around your waist.
“You didn't have to make breakfast,” you heard Cliff whisper in your ear. “I'll go get your car after we eat.”
You nodded your head as you finished making breakfast. Once you two were done eating he left the house. When he came back you saw that your car was in even worse condition than you remember.
“I have good news and bad news,” he said as he walked over to you. “The good news is, that no one stole anything from your car, the bad news is that it's never gonna drive unless you get it repaired.”
“That's going to cost a fortune!” you say as you start crying.
“I know but maybe if you want to stay with me longer I could try to fix it,” he said with a smile. “If you want.”
“I think I should call my mom or something,” you say as you start feeling unsafe. “But thanks again for all your help.”
“You're not leaving,” he said with a straight face. “You can't leave!”
“Cliff..” you start but you don't know how to finish it.
“No,” he said as he grabbed your arm and pulled you inside his cabin. “I don't care if I have to lock you in the basement, you're never leaving!”
You looked at him terrified as you tried to get him off you. After a few seconds, you stopped struggling as you realized that you were never leaving him again.
Yandere Dick Grayson x GN Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
❥ Part I >> Part II >> Part III >> Part IV
𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐗𝐓: Wanted to write a platonic older brother Dick Grayson story, but depicting his spiral into yandere-hood. Tumblr can’t handle my swag AO3-length writing, so multiple parts it is!
𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐒: platonic sibling yandere content, older brother Dick Grayson, younger sibling reader, non-vigilante reader, adopted reader, slow burn yandere(?), the pacing is very a-day-in-the-life-esque, kind-of stalking, unsettling build-up, Dick isn’t a full-blown yandere yet, starting off tame, biblically accurate Batfam, CLIFF HANGER!!
Richard Grayson didn’t really like you.
He never told you outright, but you knew. It was painfully obvious during your initial meeting (one that was “long overdue,” according to Bruce), back when Alfred dropped you off at his Blüdhaven apartment with all your belongings. Though he offered a welcoming smile with complimentary dimples, something dark swirled in his sapphire eyes, a stony cold stare contrasting with his warm greeting of, “nice to finally meet you, (Y/N).”
You didn’t know that much about Richard Grayson, other than his role as your pseudo older brother (and the fact that he was Robin, and now Nightwing, but you were still wrapping your head around the idea of your filthy rich adoptive father being fucking Batman, so… there’s not much you could say on that). He seemed friendly enough in all the gala interviews you’ve seen, but you were starting to realize to not take someone’s press persona as gospel: after all, Bruce Wayne seems much more put together in front of the cameras than he does in the manor. So, while unsettling, you couldn’t say you were too surprised by this official first impression.
Maybe he was just tired, you told yourself. He probably doesn’t get much sleep, with the whole crime-fighting thing and all.
(Yeah… crime-fighting thing… y’know, cuz your pseudo older brother is Nightwing, and your filthy rich adoptive father is fucking Batman.)
However, after getting all your things settled into his spare bedroom — Alfred being a big help, as he always was — you were getting the sense that your gut intuition was right; Richard Grayson didn’t really like you at all. He may have acted all cordial, giving you a tour of his apartment and making polite jokes, but as soon as Alfred left and he excused himself to make a phone call in his room, his true feelings on your collective predicament became painfully apparent, as thin walls did nothing to hold in his heated argument with Bruce.
“B, why the hell are you doing this to me?! ……. No, they’re in their room. Getting all their stuff settled in right now. ……. I know I did, but now that they’re here, I just—!! ……. No, they’ve been okay so far, it’s just— come on, B, I know you’re an empty-nester, but if you weren’t ready to take in a kid, why’d you—?! ……. Really? So adopting orphans is just a hobby now?! ……. Yeah, and it’s really unfortunate what they’ve gone through, but you can’t just pick up every stray you see, especially if you’re this fucking paranoid about them wanting to—”
This was the only time you could understand Bruce’s response over the phone; “I DON’T WANT ANOTHER DEAD CHILD, DICK.”
… Ah.
There was a beat of silence before Bruce continued, though his softer tone made it impossible to make out what he was saying. He went on and on until Dick sighed. “Bruce, I want them to have a happy home. And, yeah, I sure as hell agree that the manor might not be the best choice, but I’m off doing my own thing just as much as you are. At the very least, Alfred— ……. What would’ve been good for both of you was to not sign the papers in the first place. You’re still healing, and they need someone who can be there for them. ……. No. No, they’re already here. I’ll stay true to my word, B, but they can’t stay here forever; you know that. It’s just not healthy for all of us. ……. Yeah, I know. I’ll do my best. Look, I gotta figure out what I’m gonna make this kid for dinner.”
And then, without a single goodbye exchanged, the call went dead.
So, yeah. Richard Grayson didn’t really like you.
Which was fine. Really, it was. You weren’t even his sibling by law, as you learned from Alfred that Bruce technically never even adopted him, yet here he was being asked to take care of you, a reminder that he can’t escape Bruce Wayne or Batman no matter how hard he tries. While you were still learning the full situation (again, your filthy rich adoptive father is fucking BATMAN), what you already knew didn’t paint a pretty picture. Honestly, you didn’t blame Richard Grayson for being a little spiteful towards you. It did make sense.
You just wish it didn’t make you feel so… unwanted.
Tumblr media
“How was school, kiddo?”
A questioning hum was startled from your vocal chords. The car ride had been so silent, you found yourself lost in your own thoughts, almost forgetting that you were buckled into the passenger seat of Richard’s — Dick’s, rather; he told you to call him Dick the day you moved in — older, copper-colored car. After taking a few moments to collect yourself, you threw your temporary guardian a glance only to find he was pointedly staring at you (which was concerning, as he was driving).
“Uh…” your voice faltered a bit, forcing you to cough in your fist. “It was alright.”
His eyes lingered on you for a bit longer before returning to the road ahead. You thought that was the end of the conversation, but then he spoke up again. “Did you learn anything?”
A bit of an awkward thing to ask, but at least he was trying. “Factoring in algebra. And I guess a little about the Mongol Empire.”
“Factoring,” he said with distaste. “Wasn’t a fan of that. Though it didn’t really help that I had the worst algebra teacher. Ended up with a 70 in that class by some miracle.” A small beat of silence. “Do anything fun with friends?”
You grimaced. Though you tried your best not let it show, you knew Dick probably caught it through the rear-view mirror. “I, uh, haven’t made any friends yet.”
“It’s already October,” he skeptically stated with a quirked brow.
“I know. It’s just…” you clutched your book bag closer to your chest. “It was my first day here, so… gotta make new friends.”
“… Oh.”
As much as you wanted to dryly chortle at his reaction, you refrained. It probably wasn’t his fault he didn’t know about being transferred from Gotham to Blüdhaven Academy, since Bruce apparently had a habit of keeping people out of the loop with things. For all you know, Dear Ol’ Daddy Bats just gave Dick an address and said, "drop off at 9, pick up at 3:30," leaving your pseudo-older brother to fill in the blanks from there (“this is an address to a school, so I’m assuming this is where they go to school,” or something like that).
So, all you could do was shrug. “Yeah.”
Out of the corner of your eye, you could see his jaw tighten. He seemed to be deliberating on something, eyes burning holes through his windshield as he let out a sigh. “So, guessing you have no one to stay with for the night?”
“Stay with?” You furrowed your brows. “What do you mean, stay with?”
“Well, I’m gonna be out tonight,” he explained, his tone sounded a bit exasperated. “Can’t just leave you on your own. Do any friends from your old school live near by?”
You were at a loss for words. He wanted you to stay with someone? For the entire night? “Wait, hold on… you just wanna dump me at a friend’s house anytime you do your hero shit—?”
“Not sure if you’ve noticed, kiddo, but we’re in Blüdhaven,” he spat at you. “And my apartment isn’t exactly in the nicest part of town.”
“But— it’ll be fine, ‘cuz you have a Bat-level security system,” you protested.
His grip got tighter on the steering wheel. “Doesn’t matter. You’re used to the manor, not street-level crime, kid.”
“I grew up in Gotham,” you retorted. “I’ve known street-level crime way longer than I’ve known the manor.” Before he could say something to that, you beat him to it by following up with, “and besides, all my friends from Gotham live in areas that are just as bad as your apartment. Wasn’t all that popular with the socialite kids with mansions, you know.”
No response for several seconds. Dick’s expression was far from pleasant, and you were starting to worry if you were getting yourself into some sort of trouble. Eventually, however, he let out a frustrated sigh, his cold eyes snapping towards your figure. “You make one hell of an argument, kiddo. But listen. We’ve gotta go over home-alone rules when we’re back to the apartment, alright? I don’t want anything happening to you under my watch.”
“Fine by me,” you shrugged.
The conversation was then dropped.
A small smile started to bloom on your face. He really thought he could rid of you like that, didn’t he? You knew he didn’t really like you, but using it’s not safe as an excuse to a Gothamite? Really? Yeah, that’s a bunch of bogus.
… Though, you had to admit, it was nice that he at least sounded considerate.
Tumblr media
You woke up to the sounds of disgruntlement coming from the living area.
It wasn’t too loud, as you couldn’t exactly comprehend what was being said, but it was loud make you realize the disgruntled party was extremely ticked by something. Getting out of bed, you put your ear to the door for better listening.
“I already told you, I can’t. I’ve been leaving this kid home alone far too often for my liking. ……. Where, Roy?! Where can they stay?! Bruce isn’t in the right headspace to have another kid in the manor, and— ow, fuck— it’s not like they have any friends to crash with for the night! ……. Transferred schools. Would’ve been nice if Bruce said something about that, but— ……. Said their Gotham friends live in areas just as bad. Besides, there’s no way in hell I’m letting them step foot back into that hellhole without me being there. ……. ‘Cuz it’s fucking Gotham, Roy! It’s only city in the world that has a death by killer clown statistic!!”
Ah. Another phone call. Dick had been making a lot of those, recently. You never knew who was on the other line, except if it was Bruce or (by rare chance) Alfred, but you had a general idea that it was always one of his super hero friends. Not very many people casually talked about beating up thugs and criminals, after all.
“No— absolutely not. Bruce would be pissed if he found out!! He’d think I’m trying to make them into my sidekick or something, and god knows what happens to them after that. I’ve been through the system, Roy. While I’m not too keen on keeping a kid around, putting them back there is not an option. ……. They’re just— safer in my apartment than anywhere else right now. I can’t have anything happening to them. Not after Jason. Bruce would never forgive me, and I— I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. ……. I’m sorry, Roy. Maybe next time. ……. Yeah. Tell the other Titans I’m thinking about them, okay? ……. Yeah, good luck tonight. Try not to show up on the news. ……. Yup. See you.”
Your ears picked up on a low beep, heralding the end of the call. As Dick let out a string of curses, you couldn’t help but feel… empty. You were more than just a pain in the ass for Dick; you were a full-blown problem. It wasn’t just the fact that you were keeping him from having hero fun. Even if he wasn’t all that fond of you, he still considered you his responsibility, and seemed genuinely worried about your safety when he wasn’t there. You were under the impression that he went out at night to forget you existed, but…
Jason…
Jason was a name you were only vaguely familiar with, usually used as a heavy blow in a Dick v. Bruce argument. While you don’t exactly know the full context, Alfred did make mention once of a kid who lived in Wayne Manor before you (the one who is “no longer with us,” as the butler solemnly said), and upon stumbling into the Batcave by accident, some of the only coherent mutterings he offered were, “Jason,” and “no, not again.”
Again, you didn't know the full context, but it's easy to put together the pieces from there.
A particularly loud curse from the other side of the door brought you back to reality. You at first wondered if you should go out there and make sure your current guardian-figure was okay, but you decided against it, as A.) he was probably just patching himself up from a particularly rough skirmish, and B.) he didn't seem like he was in the mood to see you. Besides, with your thoughts on this Jason kid, you didn't know if you had enough self-control to keep your burning questions locked away on your tongue.
So, instead, you decided to lay back down in your bed, brainstorming ideas to get Dick to talk about Jason.
Tumblr media
This was… kind of a terrible way to ask.
Sure, you were curious. The thought had been haunting your thoughts since Bruce’s breakdown, and being out of the loop was slowly eating away at your mind. But maybe you could’ve been less… abrupt… and given Dick a little bit more time to be mentally prepared. It was an extremely sensitive topic, after all, and you knew even he was healing from the aftermath.
You hoped he understood your question wasn’t just morbid curiosity; Jason’s death is in-part the reason you’re here, after all.
Dick stared at you across from the dinner table. His fork had a few pieces of macaroni skewered one the prongs, half-raised to be shoveled into his mouth. Blue eyes stared right through you, blinking owlishly as he presumably tried to process what the fuck you just asked him. All you could do was hunch into yourself in your seat, mentally scolding yourself for how fucking rude your question probably was. Painfully long seconds ticked by with no sort of response, and you eventually decided that the best course of action was to do some preemptive damage control.
“You— actually, you don’t have to answer,” you weakly sputtered. “I’m so sorry, that’s— that was so uncalled for. I’m really sorry, Dick.”
He set his fork down. “No, it’s fine. I’m just… did Bruce not— he never told you?”
You shook your head.
“… Ah,” was his reply. His eyes wandered towards the window, an unreadable expression falling onto his face. He seemed a bit… lost. Which was understandable, as you didn’t exactly give him prep time for a conversation like this. You gave him as much time as he needed to put his thoughts in order.
Finally, he gave an answer. “Killed in action. Ended up in the hands of the Joker, and… well, he didn’t come home. No Robin ever since.”
The flat tone that carved through his words caused your hair to stand on end. He kept the details vague, but you didn’t find yourself minding all that much. If the Joker was involved, it probably wasn’t that much of a lovely story. “So, he was Robin after you?”
A hum of confirmation came from Dick. “The mantle was open, since I took up a new name. After finding out that Bruce was Batman, he practically begged to be trained as Robin.” He slowly brought the fork to his mouth. “That’s what Bruce said, anyway.”
It was then you noticed the silverware rattling from some sort of rhythmic thumping. After a few moments, you realized it was from your knee hitting against the table, causing you to will your legs to stay still. “Um…” you cleared your throat. “Were you… close with Jason?”
“I mean, we were friendly.” He still neglected to make eye contact with you. “I tried to be a good example to him, but I was busy doing my own thing here.” His gaze dropped to the linoleum floor. “Didn’t spend enough time with him.”
A heavy pressure crushed down on your chest. While you didn’t know Jason personally, you were no stranger to the concept of loss, and the more you learned about his death, the more your current situation was starting to make sense. Jason discovered Bruce was Batman. He wanted to be Robin, and Bruce let him. Then he died as Robin. Bruce’s adopted son died on the field, in the costume.
So, after you found out Bruce was Batman… it probably felt all too familiar.
“I’m… I’m sorry,” you practically whispered.
Dick only sighed. “It’s alright, kiddo.” Finally, he raised his eyes to look at you. “Say, how are you doing in that chemistry class?”
… Huh?
The abrupt change in subject was… interesting. But definitely understandable, as talking about Jason’s death probably wasn’t all too pleasant. Guilt started to eat away at your conscious, the thought of making Dick uncomfortable by reminding him of his grief and regrets making your heart feel heavy. So, you merely offered a shrug and said, “uh… I’m doing fine.”
“Thought you were having trouble with valence equations,” he mused.
You could only dumbly stare at him. Okay… this was new territory. Sure, he always asked how school was while picking you up, but this was the first time he’s talked about it at dinner. Then again, this is the first time you two have talked at dinner period, since most dinners were spent eating in total silence, so maybe he was just trying to cleanse the awkward air that you created from randomly inquiring about Jason (because you can't do anything right, apparently).
So, ignoring the warmth that swirled in your chest at the thought of him actually caring about your life outside of the polite, seemingly obligatory after-school exchanges, you indulged.
Tumblr media
Blüdhaven nights weren’t all that different from Gotham’s. They could get noisy, the sounds of the city mixing together into one cacophony. You’ve learned how to sleep through it all, and it’s not like it’s all high energy for the entire night; around 1 in the morning, there’s a lull in activity that yields little to no sounds to disturb your slumber. Some would even call this hour the most peaceful that places like Gotham and Blüdhaven can get, despite all of the dubious activities that are probably happening.
So, something like the sound of a window sliding opening is enough to disturb this peace.
It was your window. It sounded like it was right in your room, so it had to be your window. You stayed as petrified as a statue in your bed, the fog of sleepiness immediately airing out of your brain from your nervous system screaming, holy shit, someone is opening my window. Well, maybe, if you continued to stay still, they wouldn’t recognize the obvious lump in the bed, take whatever the fuck they wanted, and be on their merry way. With any luck, Dick was done doing his hero shit, and the unfortunate sap breaking into the apartment would have a run-in with Nightwing.
That’s when a your bed began to creak from a new weight being added to it.
… Ah, shit.
You didn’t move. There was no way in hell you were moving. Even if the intruder seemingly knew you were there, you could do nothing else but stay stagnant in place, waiting for them to make the next move. Maybe, if they touch you, you could swing your arm to hit them and catch them by surprise. That might give you enough time to run, find Dick’s room, and pray to god he’s home. If not, then you could at least lock yourself in his room and hold out until he does.
Your thoughts were cut short when a familiar voice rang out.
“You didn’t lock your window.”
… That bastard—!!
Relief crashed through your body like a tidal wave. A heavy breath tumbled out of your lips — one that you didn’t even know you were holding in — which alleviated the growing pressure in your chest. Now that you could feel your limbs again, you willed away the shiver that wanted to travel through your body as you turned to face this so-called intruder. “Kind of an unconventional way to come home, don’t you think?”
Your eyes met the pearly white lenses of a domino mask. The shadowy figure sitting on your bed had his arms crossed over the unmistakable azure symbol of Nightwing, which, oddly enough, had an intriguing iridescent shimmer under the moonlight. Huh… none of the cameras really pick up that detail, you mentally noted, glancing back and forth between the contrast of matte black and shiny blue. You were no professional superhero costume critic, but it was a nice little touch.
Dick’s tired sigh snapped you out of your thoughts. It was a grim reminder that — oh, yeah — you’re about to get chewed out by your vigilante kind-of-older-brother… at an ungodly hour. “Kid,” he began, the chastising tone you were becoming more and more acquainted with lacing every word, “you can’t keep forgetting to lock everything like that. What if I was some crook, or kidnapper, or worse?”
“Good thing it was just Nightwing coming through my window to give me a heart attack,” you humorlessly mused.
Though you couldn’t see underneath the mask, you knew he was giving you that one unamused stare you’re all too familiar with. “(Y/N), I’m serious. This is about your safety, your life, even. If something bad happens while I’m out, I won’t be able to protect you. For god’s sake, kid. I could be on the other side of Blüdhaven while you’re getting taken, or murdered, or whatever!!” He took a moment to heave another sigh. “Just… promise me you’ll lock your window next time, alright? Please.”
All you could do was wordlessly nod. After taking some time to process what he was saying, you admittedly felt bad. He was right; neglecting to lock your window like that could very well mean death in Blüdhaven. It’s not like growing up in Gotham is any different, so you knew this fact very well. Maybe your time at the manor caused you to become less careful, as it’s unlikely any criminals are hitting up the Wayne residence anytime soon; and it’s not like any of them know about the Bat-level security, either.
A springy click echoed through your room, and you looked up to see Dick inspecting your window (you’ve long stopped questioning how he just teleports like that). After deeming it to be safe, he softly padded towards your door. His hand was on the knob, but he seemed a bit hesitant to turn it. Then, almost as an afterthought, he looked at you over his shoulder and said, “goodnight, kiddo.”
“… Goodnight,” you mumbled.
He was out the door.
Click.
Now alone in your room, you could finally replay what just happened. Dear Big Bro Dickybird just gave you the scare of a lifetime, chastised you about being irresponsible, and left to assumingly go to bed (though you’re not sure if that man actually sleeps or not). The conversation — well, more like lecture — played in your mind, repeating on loop like a broken record… because of course your mind wanted to make you feel guiltier than you already did.
That’s when something weird stuck out to you.
“You can’t keep forgetting to lock everything like that.”
… Keep?
As far as you knew, that was your first time actually forgetting…
So... how did he know?
Tumblr media
Thwack.
Before you could even begin to register whatever the fuck just hit your forehead, a teasingly dry voice rang out from above. “Your handwriting really sucks, y'know."
With furrowed brows to showcase your confusion, you forced yourself to sit upright on the couch. A small notepad fell from your chest to the floor, the pages sprawled out from the metal spiral to reveal your list of things you wanted from the store. “I was writing fast,” you grumbled.
"Sure you were," cooed Dick with a less-than-friendly smirk. He then cocked his head to the side, arms crossing over his chest. "Wanted a change of scenery or something?"
You felt your face scrunch up. "What does that mean?"
"You usually watch your dumb little YouTube videos in your room," he explained. "Not sprawled out on my couch."
Honestly, you weren't even going to question how he knew that. Maybe it was that dumb Bat-detective intuition, or the fact that you probably need to start turning the volume on your phone down a notch (thin walls, remember?). Rolling your eyes, you situated yourself so that you were once again lounging comfortably on the couch. "Trying to tell me something, bucko?"
"Yeah, actually." Before you knew it, you were being ripped away from the cushions, an indignant yelp leaving your lips as you dangled mid-air from your legs. You had to adjust to your new upside-down view in order to throw Dick an incredulous glare. The bastard merely offered a shit-eating grin, simply stating, "get off my couch."
"... Could've just told me that," you spat out.
He began to walk you out of the living room. "You wouldn't of listened."
"Wha-- I totally would've!"
"Somehow, I doubt that."
Whatever retort you wanted to throw at him dissolved into a heavy OOMF as he dropped you onto the floor. You found yourself glaring up at him once more as he swiped invisible dust off of his hands, giving you a champion smirk before heading back in the living. You managed to orient yourself into an awkward squat just in time to see him confidently throw himself into the couch cushions.
That asshole just kicked you out of your spot.
You were not about to let that slide.
With an animalistic yell, you began to gallop — yes, gallop; it was a weird mix of running and crawling, as you were already on the floor — at him full speed. He barely had time to react to your charge (as you victoriously noted from his surprised OOF as you pounced on him), and within seconds, the both of you were locked into a fight to the death. Dick might've had the upper hand when it came to combat technique, but what you lacked in experience, you made up in dedication as you tried your damned hardest to push him off of the couch.
"Hey," he wheezed out. "Quit it, you little freak!!"
"You quit it," was your breathy reply. "I was here first!!"
"But it's my couch!!"
"Didn't see you using it!!"
"Just 'cuz I was getting your dumbass groceries!!"
"You were out for a whole-ass hour!!"
Despite giving it your all, the battle was beginning to turn against you as Dick managed to wrestle your upper body between his forearm and bicep. He eventually managed to pin your viciously kicking legs under his arm, and looking back on it, the scene probably looked reminiscent of a zookeeping holding down a trashing crocodile. This didn't deter you however, as you began to gnaw at his forearm, drawing a sound of disgust from your captor. "I had to spend, like, 30 minutes trying to decipher your shit handwriting," he scoffed. "Now can you just accept defeat and stop biting me!?"
You tried to respond with something along the lines of, "not until you give me my spot back," but it came out as garbled nonsense with your mouth full of his forearm. He aggressively told you to repeat yourself (probably under the pretense that you were giving him some major lip), and during the time you relieved his skin of your teeth to say something much worse than you initially did, a cheerful little tune began to play from Dick's pocket.
"... Hold that thought," he murmured.
Respectfully, you kept still and allowed him to use one of his hands to fish his phone out of his hoodie (you thought about using this as an opportunity to escape, but that would go against the unspoken rules of battle). He squinted his eyes to read the caller ID, only to heave a frustrated groan. “Bruce,” he curtly informed you. You were about to ask if he wanted some privacy, when he suddenly released you from his hold and sent you careening towards the ground. So, taking that as an answer, you scrambled off of the floor and headed towards your room, phone somehow materializing in your hand in the process.
From your room, the call sounded so faint.
… Maybe the walls weren’t as thin as you initially thought they were.
Tumblr media
You let out a jet of hot air through your teeth. “The hell is taking him so long?”
The time was 3:50, but Dick’s old car was nowhere to be seen in your school’s parking lot. You shot hit a text 5 minutes ago that has yet to be read, and if you were being honest, you were more anxious than annoyed. Dick was never late to pick-up. Late to drop-off, sure (there was one time you showed up to school at 11:25 due to him sleeping in from a late-night drug bust, and you got the pleasure of making up an embarrassing excuse at the expense of Dick’s pride to the front office), but never pick-up.
So, this meant one of two things; he’s finally forgotten about you, or there’s an emergency.
Just as you were debating on checking the local news, your phone buzzed in your hand, screen lighting up to reveal a message from Bastard. You could feel your apprehension melting away as you unlocked your phone to read his message:
robbery going on
… Ah. That explains the spike in police siren activity going on around you.
You were about to shoot him a classic, “what the fuck” text, but his typing bubble popped up. After a second, another message followed:
gonna be late
Okay, now you decided to send your, “what the fuck.”
The read status under your text didn’t show up until a few minutes later (because that’s what you needed in this moment; more anxiety), and he immediately got to typing.
sorry kiddo
stay put
be there in a sec
Your shaky fingers managed to type him a message along the lines of, “be careful, good luck,” which was left unread by him. A snake of apprehension began to squeeze at your lungs, making it harder and harder to breathe. You had to force yourself to suck in a good bit of air to calm your nerves. Maybe he was just busy kicking some ass, that’s all. He’s stopping a whole-ass robbery from happening, so it’s not like he can keep up with your messages. Besides, he told you he would be there “in a sec,” so he’s probably wrapping everything up now.
Calm down, (Y/N), you scolded yourself. Your brother is Nightwing. He’ll be fine.
That’s when you witnessed an explosion light up the sky.
It was distant, but big enough to send a low rumble through the ground. You watched in absolute horror as the violent orange and yellow dissipated from behind the cityscape, leaving an inky trail of smoke behind as its calling card. More and more sirens of different origins — police, fire, ambulance — were overlapping in a terrible harmony, though it was hard to process from the brazen ringing in your ears, clogging your brain out from the outside world.
Oh, shit.
What if that was—?!
You desperately fumbled with your phone, unlocking it to reveal your still unread message to Dick. You were hoping for some sort of sorry about that text, or at the very least to see his typing bubble, but you were met with radio silence. Apprehension became pure fear when your thoughts began to race. Something bad happened to Dick. There’s no way in hell an explosion happened coincidentally, so something bad just happened.
Not good, not good, not good at all…!!
It took longer than you wanted to get your fingers to type something:
Dick??
Dick, you okay??
I saw that, are you okay??
Dick??
Dick??
… Nothing.
You resorted to calling him.
… Beeeeeeeeep…
… Beeeeeeeeep…
… Beeeeeeeeep…
“Come on,” you muttered. “Come on, come on, come on, pick up—!!”
… Beeeeeeeep…
“Hey, you’ve reached the voice mail of Dick Grayson, just shoot me a text and I’ll—”
You hung up.
This was bad. This was so bad. Something bad is happening, and you’re not even sure if Dick’s okay. Hell, you saw how big that explosion was. Is he even fucking alive?!
You couldn’t help but utter a watery, “no…”
You’re not going through this again.
Without a second to spare, your legs began to carry you forward in a full sprint. You weren’t exactly sure where the explosion went off, and it’s not like you’re all that familiar with Blüdhaven just yet to know where any possible candidates for a robbery could be, but you followed the smoke pillars like a beacon, gauging how close you were based on the surrounding sirens. People stood like statues on the sidewalks to ogle at evidence of destruction wafting through the sky, and no cars dared to run you over as you cut through the streets.
“Come on, Dick,” you said between huffs. “Please— please be okay..!!”
He had to be okay.
You couldn’t lose someone else in your life.
“next door neighbor”
-matt sturniolo pt.2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warnings: nothing just a bit of fluff, strangers/friends to lovers, hockey!matt/sweetheart!matt smut soon!!
that night
i’ve been getting ready for an hour, sure matt knows what i look like without makeup and not dressed up, hell he showed up at my doorstep and saw me when i had just woken up. so i know there’s really no point in putting this much effort in to look good, just to eat dinner, but matt’s never seen me dressed up, since all i ever wear to school is sweats, and i wanna look good tonight.
an hour later
i’m putting on my outfit and my shoes now, i just put on my jewelry and now i’m heading out. i knock on his door and he opens it..and holy fuck his outfit?? he looks so fucking good i could actually..
“hello? y/n? are you listening?”
i snap out of my trance
“yeah yeah ofc i am”
“mhm? then what did i say”
“uhm..idk matt i was distracted”
“by what?” he asked teasingly
i looked down, his voice had me thinking some things
“nothing, forget about it” i smiled as i walked past him, he grabbed my arm softly
“no, no tell me what distracted you sweetheart.” he said looking down at me
SWEETHEART?? DOES HE WANT ME TO FAINT??
“it’s really nothing, i promise” i smiled reassuring him
“okay, whatever you say, but come, sit down” he leaded me to the dining room table, which was covered in plates of delicious looking food.
“wow your mom can really cook” i giggle
“yeah she’s amazing”
i smile and look over at him
“your smile is really pretty, yk that?”
i blushed hard.
“really?” i smiled
“yeah, of course”
“thank you!” i replied giggly
his brothers came downstairs and his parents sat down next to us
the next day
i woke up to a knock on my door, i groaned, exhausted from the amazing night before, i ended up staying there a lot longer than planned and we played games until 2am, but eventually matt walked me home and i fell asleep. but now i’m being woken up, i yawned and stretched, quickly putting on a bra and shorts as i answered the door, half asleep.
“hm?” i asked as i opened the door
there was matt, again, AND I WAS IN A BRA.
“uh..” he mumbled
i looked down and realized my state and quickly slammed the door
“SORRY!” i ran upstairs and threw on a r shirt and sweats, brushing my hair, and running back downstairs, opening the door.
“needed a moment, huh?” he chuckled
“yeah..sorry i was half asleep”
“mhm i could tell..”
“so what are you here for?”
“i was wondering if you wanted to hangout today? i mean we don’t have school and i don’t have plans, but i totally understand if you do, you probably do i’m sorry-“
“no, no i don’t have plans! uhm yeah we can hangout!”
he smiled, his smile is so cute omg.
“yeah? so what do you wanna do?”
“if you want you can come inside, i actually need help with something”
i let him inside and i shut the door behind us, walking him upstairs into my room
“so basically, i need to go through my clothes and idk what to keep”
“you want me to help?”
“yeah of course, i love your style”
he smiled and blushed a little
“yeah of course, i’d love to help”
“okay i’m gonna try on random shit and you tell me keep or sell, okay?”
“sounds easy enough”
i tried on the first outfits and everything he loved
“yk you’re gonna have to pick sell to something?”
“yeah but everything just fits you so well”
i blushed, hard.
“i- not like that” he covered his face in embarrassment
“i’m so sorry, i wasn’t trying to be weird”
“no, i know” i smiled walking towards him
wind — lo'ak sully
Tumblr media
Description: You make a matching ionar (rider’s mask) for Lo’ak after he fails the first time trying to tame an ikran. you give it to him after his (successful) second try, but what does it mean?
Pairing: Lo'ak te Suli Tsyeyk'itan x GN!Reader (Na’vi)
Warnings/Tags: mentions of mating/finding a mate(?), use of y/n, actually requited love, reader is a softie, proofread once and barely edited, events probably not canonically correct because i’ve never read the comics
Word Count: 3k
Author’s Note: if anyone has any avatar thoughts or hc/drabble requests feel free to send them in my inbox !! i’m honestly willing to write for most of the characters, so just ask 😇 (any human!jake thoughts are especially welcome)
Everything has fallen away and nothing else matters when Lo’ak is in the Tsahìk’s healing hut, being bandaged by his grandmother after falling off a cliff on his first try taming an ikran.
The disappointment from his father rolls off in waves, and in turn, the shame of it suffocating.
Mo’at interrupts his train of thinking.
“Mawey,” She says in a gentle voice, but its read as a warning nonetheless. “I can feel you burning a hole into the ground.”
“Sorry.”
The curt response is not lost on her, but she doesn’t mention it.
Enter Kiri, the third person who has come to see him since the incident. Her face is etched with worry, eyebrows scrunched but it seems like she’s trying to hide it. She sits cross-legged across from her brother.
“Father was just worried about you.”
That gets a dry laugh out of him, wincing when the exertion stings.
“He’s got a funny way of showing it,” He replies.
Never-mind that. The moment he hit the ground, he knew he would be the other end of their father’s worry. That’s not what he hates. It’s that he feels the disappointment.
But it’s as if Kiri reads his mind.
“He’s not disappointed, either. He doesn’t hold it against you.”
At his quiet, Kiri leans against the wall, keeping him company while their grandmother rubs paste on his shoulder.
-
It is his third say of ordered rest that he finally notices your absence. Amidst of the chaos and his family practically doting on him with worry, he realizes the empty hole in his heart is in the shape of you.
You, who was there to see him fall. You, who was one of the best hunters in the clan and a great flyer. And you, who he has been in love with since he could remember.
Another wave of shame and embarrassment hits him. It lingers.
If you’d seen his failure, surely that destroyed all his chances with you. Hell, he barely had any after you’d called him ‘a great friend,’ a few weeks ago. But it’s different now: you have witnessed his worst moment, and would deem him unfit to be a mate.
His moping is apparently so noticeable that his own father has to talk to him. It happens before the hunting party leaves.
“Look,” His father—the Olo’eyktan for Eywa’s sake—makes the party wait. “I’m sorry about yelling at you.”
“Yeah, I know. We’re good.” Lo’ak’s lungs are burning. He needs to get away from this conversation, otherwise it will lead to Jake finding out about his affections for you.
“Hey,” His father taps his shoulder, and Lo’ak has to meet his eye. “What’s going on?”
Lo’ak knows that Jake is often misjudged as a father. He hears his friends talk about how being an Olo’eyktan makes him too busy to properly care for his kids. But what they don’t know is that every duty his father fulfills is done with his children in mind. Not too many people give him enough credit, not even Lo’ak.
He pays attention.
“Can we…not talk about this?” Lo’ak nods to the hunting party waiting for their leader. “We can talk about it when you get back.”
Jake gives in, but not without promise. “Later.”
They never end up talking about it, much to Jake’s dismay. Lo’ak avoids him too much. He prays to Eywa hoping his son will solve it soon.
-
When he sees you again, it had been about two weeks since the incident. He knows you’re close with Kiri, and every time his sister sneaks away he knows she’s with you, but he decided that if you didn’t want to be near him, then so be it. He didn’t anticipate the pain that came with that. The burning in his chest, something his father taught him about heartburn—yeah, that. Probably.
There’s a lot of people in the clan, which is why it surprises him to see you spending time with Ralu of all people.
You’re both far away, but he sees you flash a smile at the man and he begins to see red.
Ralu isn’t a bad person by any means. But he’s arrogant. And you told Lo’ak once that you hated arrogant people. Ralu was named after his great grandfather, one of the most notorious warriors among the people. Lo’ak figures that’s why the guy carries himself with an air of importance.
So when you laugh at his joke, Lo’ak starts to think that maybe you changed.
When did you change?
The burning is quelled for a moment, quickly replaced with an even worse emotion: a soul-crushing, haunting feeling called guilt.
Lo’ak is guilty of many things. He disobeys direct orders, he has the tendency to slip out of important celebrations, he can disappear for days when he needs time to think.
But he has never once felt guilty of loving you.
Until now.
It is not truly just guilt out of loving you, rather, it’s a product of his own cowardice and inability to even strike a conversation with the slightest hint of interest in becoming yours officially.
You don’t know that he is already yours—that you hold his heart in your delicate hands—maybe that is where he went wrong. Was it fair for him to have assumed you knew that? No, not really. But what could he do?
He stalks away, the sight of you and Ralu summoning bile in Lo’ak’s throat. He wants to feel the wind one only gets while flying and let the sting of the air wash his mind of the image.
He decides to take training more seriously this time around. Maybe he’s not too late.
He hopes he’s not too late.
-
Lo’ak loses himself in the fight. He lets his body carry him on hunts, he climbs the trees with calloused hands, he visits the mountains to study the patterns of the ikran coming and going.
He’s so determined to prove himself to you that he doesn’t pay mind to how you come and go through the home of the clan’s most talented craftsman.
Doesn’t notice when your eyes gravitate toward him as you come back from doing your tasks—he is too honed in on sharpening his blades and fixing his arrows.
You and Lo’ak hadn’t spoken in weeks.
But he wanted to make it worth it for when he finally invites you to watch him try and tame an ikran for the second time alongside his family.
It’s not long until Lo’ak finally approaches you with the proposition.
You receive the invitation with a gentle smile. He’s glad that Ralu is nowhere to be seen. (Bastard.)
-
It’s early morning, and you have not shown up. The thought of you not being here makes his stomach churn, not only out of shame but also regret. Maybe he really had lost you, but that is going off the assumption that he ever had you in the first place.
Most of his family stands behind him in support as he goes over the plan in his head, watching the ikran screech amongst themselves. Although, Tuk and Kiri are with grandmother—so it is just Neytiri, Jake, and Neteyam. He was so confident your name would be a part of that list.
He shakes off the thought, letting himself feel the vibrations. The rope in his hand burns from his tight grip. He launches himself into action, spotting the dark blue creature about to lunge at him. It’s beautiful. He hopes he doesn’t die.
The skin of the ikran brings him back to the feeling of falling, a flashback to the first time. As he wrangles it from the back, avoiding the claws reaching for him, he shakes his head roughly to rid himself of the image. The earth beneath him scratches at his leg when he falls off and tries to get back on, keeping its mouth tightly wrapped, bruises threatening to form on his hand.
Wind.
Edge. He is at the edge of the cliff.
The wind pushes against him, he pulls forward.
His vision is a tunnel, he grabs his kuru. He doesn’t see who arrives.
He successfully mounts the creature, making tsaheylu at the same time.
They both fall.
He hears the family erupt in cheers from afar when he saves himself from hitting ground, circling upward and letting out a loud cry. He does not hear your cheers amongst them, but it’s there regardless.
That is when he lands back on the cliff’s edge, meeting his parents’ proud smiles and Neteyam’s hard pat on the back.
You emerge from behind his family, and his jaw falls slack.
“Y/N,” He says, breathless. He resists the subconscious urge—the instinct—to run to you and wrap his arms around your figure, as he is reminded that the possibility of you and him have been null for a long time. “I thought you didn’t come.”
You two are inches from each other now.
“Are you kidding?” Your laugh melts him. “I just wanted to see if you’d fall off again.” The teasing isn’t something new, he knows you don’t mean it but even if you did, he couldn’t care less—every corner of his mind is now burned with the image of your smile.
He playfully shoves your shoulder, and you stop him from pulling away by holding his wrist.
You lower his arm. You bring an object out of the satchel you’ve been carrying around and places it on his outstretched hand.
It was an ionar. A rider’s mask.
And it looked familiar.
It is crafted beautifully and carefully—the light leather is cured perfectly, and in the middle, where it would rest on top of one’s nose-bridge, there’s a dark piece of river crystal sanded down to a point.
“I can’t take this,” He shakes his head. “This is yours.”
There’s something mischievous in your eyes, a glint he’d never seen. “Look closer.”
He grabs it and inspects, and his heart drops when he runs his finger over the piece, feeling the letters before seeing them. His name engraved into the side. Your mask had your name. This one has his.
“You…?” He meets your eyes, and you’re looking downward. In a surge of confidence, he puts a hand on your jaw to get you looking at him. “You made this for me?”
You nod. “It is a gift,” you respond. “I finished it this morning. I was not sure if it would be to your liking—”
“Don’t say that.” He cuts you off, and your eyes seem to be searching for something in his. He hopes to Eywa you find what it is you’re looking for. “This is perfect.”
You glance past him and he remembers that his family has been there the whole time. He turns and his eyes shoot daggers at his brother when he can see there must be something at the tip of Neteyam’s tongue. He knows that look, he’s about to get teased.
Luckily, before the brothers can exchange any words, you get Lo’ak’s attention again.
“Go fly with your family,” Your soft voice has him reeling. “I will meet you back home.”
-
He proudly dons the mask you’d given him, not taking it off when he starts looking for you after getting home. He wants—no, needs—everybody to know that he wears it like a badge of honor. He prays that people notice it matches your mask. In a way, it felt like you were staking claim on him.
Much to his chagrin, he sees you with him. Ralu. You’re nodding along to something he’s saying, and though it’s not a welcome sight, the adrenaline from flying fuels Lo’ak enough to walk over.
Your ears flick at the sound of nearby footsteps, and Lo’ak is relieved to see your smile grow wide when you catch a glimpse of him wearing the mask you made.
Lo’ak raises his brows at Ralu, and his stomach churns when Ralu does not respond to an obvious look of challenge.
You take notice of the fire in his eyes directed at your friend. In response, you place a hand on his forearm, and his gaze softens at you.
“Do you want to fly together?” You ask.
“Just us?”
“Yes,” you say it as though there is no other answer. “Who else?”
“It’s—” His eyes flit to Ralu, who seems to have stricken up a conversation with another clan member. Deciding it’s not worth mentioning, he replies, “Nevermind. Let’s go.”
-
“Where are you taking me?” He shouts over the wind, following you on his ikran while you fly fast ahead of him. The eclipse hides behind the floating mountains.
“Just wait and see!” You yell back, banking a hard left.
Landing on the cliff, you pet your banshee while Lo’ak’s lands on the ground with a hard thud. You laugh at him.
“I have to work on that,” He dismounts. “Where are we?” There is a wall of vines and moss standing tall behind you, and surface area of the soft grass is too little for both of your creatures to fit. They fly away, finding shelter on a nearby mountain.
“Follow me.” You feel the wall of vines, pushing it aside to make way into a dark passage.
The path is illuminated by bioluminescent flora growing through the cracks of the stone. He hears your footsteps behind him, and he soon runs into a wall, a small crevice with light shining through it, but too small for any Na’vi to fit.
You push past him and put your arms in the gap, putting the force of your body into getting it out of the way. He wants to help, but his eyes trace over your figure and he can only hope you don’t feel him checking you out without shame.
The gap is now wide enough to go through, so he follows you into it.
“Eywa,” He mutters under his breath as he takes in the scene. Though the cave should be dark, there is a clear pond that glows blue. There’s a tiny patch of grass surrounding it. It is not so extraordinary if one thinks about the rest of Pandora and its beauty, but the most remarkable thing is the quiet.
The wind is gone.
Your breaths are the only thing in his ears. You dip your legs in the water, splashing Lo’ak and taking him out of the trance.
“Hey!” He grins, doing the same to you.
There’s a pause while he tries to think of what to say. This place seems sacred, somehow. At least to you. You’re a great warrior—the best one he knows—yet he’s never seen such a content look on your face. It suits you.
“Why did you bring me here?”
You shrug, bashful. “This place is only accessible with an ikran. There is no other way to get up here.”
He stays silent, staring at you to go on. You avoid his gaze, opting to stare at the ripples you create in the water.
“I have been waiting to show you this place since I discovered it.”
“Have you…shown it to anybody else?”
There’s a longing in your eyes. “Neteyam.”
He is taken aback. Why would you take him here? He perks up, trying to look at your face. He sees the smirk.
“That’s not funny.”
You finally turn your head to him. “It is to me.”
“You’re messing with me, right? I just have to double-check.”
“I am,” You chuckle, lips settling into a thin line.
Another moment of silence.
“You will have to go through Uniltaron soon.”
He hums in agreement. He knows you had recently completed yours, he was there.
“After that, you will be free to choose a mate.”
A tiny flame of hope flickers in his chest. “Yeah. Yeah, I will be.”
“Do you have someone in mind?”
He doesn’t hesitate to say yes.
Your shoulders drop ever so slightly, but with the quiet echo, he hears.
“I always had the feeling you were spoken for,” you whisper. “Will you tell me who?”
He contemplates on it. Telling you would be the biggest risk of his life. It would change the nature of your relationship forever.
Before he can say anything, though, the sound of a water droplet reaches his ears. His eyes snap to you, and you have taken off your rider’s mask to wipe at the tears on your eyeline.
He scoots closer, shoulders touching. “Hey,” he puts a hand on your back. “What’s wrong?”
“You know what it feels like for someone to have your heart, don’t you?” You finally look at him again.
“I do.”
“Doesn’t it hurt?”
Since when did someone have your heart?
He wants to know who it is. Who makes you feel the way he feels for you.
He answers with the truth, “It does.” He clears his throat, trying to think of more to say. “But it doesn’t have to.”
“How?” You’re hugging your middle. He can feel you closing in on yourself.
The simple answer is that being with you flips that pain onto its head and it disintegrates. The hurt is never there long as he’s with you. But how can he tell you that if your heart belongs to someone else?”
“What do I do, Lo’ak? Please.” You almost plead for his answer. Your tears have stopped, and you, again, are searching his eyes for something. He has never seen you this vulnerable before. He wants to be the only person to witness you like this.
“You tell them.”
When you don’t respond, he takes his own advice. He bares his heart out to you.
“You’ve always had mine.” He says it so quietly that he doesn’t think you process the words until about three agonizing seconds later.
Yet you don’t say anything.
I’ve made a mistake, he thinks.
But he couldn’t have been more wrong when you finally respond by laying a hand on his cheek.
“You have always had mine, too.”
Here is a reference picture for a rider’s mask !! Lo’ak’s would look different obv, the middle part would have a river crystal that’s actually taken from the river where Y/N realized they loved Lo’ak (my cuties.) The leather would be a bit lighter, and I also imagine some beads from Tuk woven into it on the sides (Tuk found out and insisted on helping. My sweet summer child)
(additional author’s note: i know they don’t technically get a visor until fully completing their rite of passage but let’s pretend that’s not true for the sake of the fic)
Phone Call Confession
Tumblr media
A/N: I love this video!! It was one of the first video's I watched of Metallica. ❤️
Requested by: @dallysnecklace
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 845
Warnings: none
“Hey babe, time to wake up.”
My eyes fluttered open as Kirk rubbed my shoulder softly bringing me back to consciousness.
“Are we here?” I asked, rubbing my eyes.
“Yeah, I let you sleep in.” He smiled. I sleepily smiled back.
“Thank you, love. I’ll be ready in 5.” I said and got up. I quickly brushed my teeth, brushed my hair, touched up on my makeup and changed into something that wasn’t wrinkly.
“Ready, babe?” Kirk asked, handing me a water.
“Yes, thank you.” I took a sip. Our fingers interlocked as we walked off the bus. I made eye contact with the person who had the camera. We knew they would be filming, but it’s probably just for archive footage so I don’t mind. By the time this video is released, Kirk and I will have gone public with our relationship.
We’ve been dating for a while now, but I’m not famous and the band is just starting to get the recognition they deserve, so other than family and close friends we opted to keep our relationship private for the time being.
We entered the building and were herded into the room that had five phones, one for each member and the lady who runs the radio station.
Kirk sat on the desk that had the phone he would use on it. I sat in the chair next to him and immediately plopped my head in his lap. He gave a soft chuckle and played with my hair.
I tuned the lady out as she explained to them what they were going to be doing. It didn’t pertain to me so I spaced out doing my best to stay awake.
“Can I get you guys anything?” The lady asked.
“Can I get a beer, and a tea?” Kirk asked.
“Yeah, of course.” She smiled and left to go retrieve the beverages.
“Double fisting it?” I asked, resting my chin on his lap looking up.
“The tea is for you silly.” He said tapping my nose.
“Thank you.” I grinned.
The lady came back shortly, the tea was helping me to wake up and be a little bit more alert.
Soon the calls started coming in. It was fun to hear the guys talking to their fans. I couldn’t help playing with Kirk’s hand that wasn’t holding the phone. In between calls he would chat with me softly trying to keep me entertained even though he didn’t need to. I am always happy just to be with him and the other guys.
I was aware of the camera, but didn’t pay much attention to it.
The next call that came went to Cliff. Kirk and I were giggling softly trying not to interrupt Cliff or the others. I had noticed James plugging his ear trying to focus on what the person on the line was saying, poor guy. I thought it was ironic when Lars moved his hand indicating the person on the other line was a big talker.
“Uh, yeah, you can talk to him, hold on.” Cliff said, I turned to him and locked eyes. His hazel eyes showed a little bit of confusion. He pulled the phone from his ear and covered the mouthpiece.
“They want to talk to you, Kirk.” He said.
“Huh? Okay…” Kirk stood and took the phone from Cliff. Cliff moved and sat where Kirk was.
“Is this rolling live?” Cliff leaned over and asked the lady and she nodded.
“Yeah, this is broadcasting on our college news channel.” She responded.
My eyes widened and I turned my focus back to Kirk.
“Yeah, she’s my girlfriend.” You heard Kirk answer. “We’ve been dating for 8 months.” He paused letting the other person talk, his eyes met mine and he patted his lap. I got up and sat down. “Yeah, I love her, she is great. She supports me and the other guys and is not a distraction in any sense.” He replied, his arm instinctively wrapped around me and his thumb rubbed my hip. “Aw, thanks man. It was nice talking to you.” Kirk hung up. My cheeks were aflame. I suppose our relationship was out in the open a little earlier than we wanted but, it didn’t change anything. I still love him and will continue to support him.
Kirk looked directly at the camera.
“This is Y/N, and she’s been my girlfriend the past 8 months and we've been best friends for years.” He announced. I smiled and waved, then he pulled my face to his and gave me a sweet kiss.
“Aw thank god, you have no idea how many times I accidentally spilled the beans.” Lars said, covering his heart.
We all laughed and they continued on with the phone calls and interviews.
“Was that okay, babe?” Kirk asked softly and I nodded.
“Most definitely.” I smiled and kissed his nose.
“I’m glad.” He said and gave me another short kiss, before answering another phone call.
I am ecstatic I no longer have to hide my love for Kirk from the world.
Thank you for reading! Feel free to request or chat :)
Does anyone remember Violet?
Okay, how about the Nancy LU animatic? Yeah, the fic I write for that, you remember? No? Yes? It doesn't matter
I wrote a sequel >:)
The Return of "Violet"
  Wind is going to owe Four big time.
  Of all the things to ever happen, he, a pirate, has been caught stealing, and honestly it’s probably the most ashamed he’s felt since he was seven and put a hole in the roof of their house while playing with Aryll. In this instance though, he’s not going to have his sweet and understanding granny that he’s answering too. No, this time he has to answer to Four, and probably someone else after that, because with the way things are going, he’s going to need more than just Four’s help to get out of this one.
  They’re in his era, visiting one of the islands that he and Tetra had discovered after their adventures together. That almost makes it worse though because they’re here with Tetra. After finding themselves on Dragon Roost Island he’d managed to get ahold of her through the gossip stones, and although she charges worse fees than even Ravio (as Legend had made a point of complaining about) she and her crew have agreed to let the heroes sail with them until they find whatever it is that caused them to be brought to this era. So far though, they’ve had little to no luck, and for the time being, the ship is docked here while they gather supplies and allow the land-lubbers now in their company to enjoy being on land for a short bit while Tetra and the others do… pirate-y things. That was what she said they’d be doing anyway, and the heroes, in the interest of not inviting trouble for once in their lives, hadn’t asked.
  Wind knows. Usually he’d be with them, but right now he’s a hero first and a pirate second, and so he’s with the heroes instead, picking his way through the bustling market with Four while the other heroes busy themselves at stands. Currently, Legend is trying to teach Wild some form of bartering, because the champion repeatedly has been overcharged already for basic items since, apparently, in his world those prices would fly. Not in this one though, and not with Legend in their group.
  Twilight’s following after them, an amused expression on his face as he sits back and lets the vet have his way with teaching the champion, shaking his head and chuckling every so often at the duo as he turns and glances back to wherever the nearest brother is and exchanging silent words with them about it all.
  Time is the most frequent receiver of Twilight’s laden stares, and the old man himself likewise shakes his head with a small smile before turning back to the captain’s side as Warriors picks over a display of knives that has been laid out in one of the nearby stalls.
  The market is a colourful place, beautiful too, in its own unique way. Sea-salt breezes are carried up the island cliffs to them and play around their ears and hair, sending windchimes singing and overhanging fabrics and tarps swaying. Most are tightly tied down, providing brief shade to those who step beneath their protection and into the realm of one vendor or another, who will only too happily try and cheat newcomers out of their wages and will banter and barter in loud and fast moving phrases with the more experienced buyer.
  Honestly, he’s surprised that Legend’s keeping up.
  Colour surrounds them. In visiting the other eras, he’s come to understand that his is one of the more bright, Twilight’s being near drained of colour in most places by comparison. Here in the market though, that fact makes itself most apparent, the overhangs woven in bright jewel tones and tents and stalls hung about with the same over handcrafted poles and tables. The wares are bright and eye-catching too, and Hyrule is currently eyeing them all in awe, as though he’s never seen such an amalgamation of items and beautiful things in his life. He has though, because all of them have had at least a peek inside Legend’s storage shed, and that was truly a sight to see, even if it wasn’t nearly as attractively presented as the stalls and tables here.
  As for himself, Wind’s more looking around for anything relatively useful, but more than anything, he’s keeping his ears open for the telltale sound of bombs going off, just in case he needs to create a distraction to keep the others from investigating. That would be incredibly awkward and he’s not keen on having to answer for that particular set of crimes.
  Not that he ends up having to, because by the time that the bombs do go off (because of course they do) the heroes are too busy dealing with another issue.
  It’s an artefact that catches his eye. Not one from his time either, but one he remembers seeing at the Hero’s Shrine in Warriors Hyrule at the Skyview Temple. Well, it had been the Skyview Temple, back in Sky’s time, but he’s not sure what it was being called in the captain’s era. It’d become something of a hall of history to the Hylian people, and there were shrines there for the heroes of the past, set in different alcoves, and the item in question had been one laid in the one for the veteran hero himself.
  It was probably the first time he’d ever found out anything about Legend. Ravio had taken one look at the shrine and started talking about each of the items and their abilities, and while he’s not entirely sure what this particular rod does, he does know that Ravio had seemed very nervous about it being left at a shrine where someone could steal it. He’d been even more nervous though when someone had stolen it. Wind’s not sure who it had been, and at the merchant’s warnings the captain had had them all search and investigate, but the war took the most of their attention and the search had to be abandoned when the enemy had started moving again.
  He’s still not sure what the thing really does, but he knows it’s the same one as he remembers. It’s just too similar to what he remembers, and the sight of it causes a sinking feeling to make itself known in his stomach.
  “Shit.”
  “Language,” Four murmurs to him, distracted, “cap doesn’t like that kind of talk.”
  Usually he’d snicker at something like that, he imagines he’s probably half the reason that joke is still running (because Four knows he’ll still be laughing) but this time he’s too distracted for that.
  “Four, I have to commit a crime.”
  The smithy doesn’t even startle, just turns to him with a face far too calm as green eyes search his own. “What sort?” The question is spoken as calmly and casually as if asking after a flavour of pie, but he knows, based off of the fact that Four is looking at him at all, that he’s got the smithy’s full attention.
  “I need to steal something.”
  “Not so loud about it,” the smithy snorts, setting a hand on one hip and side-eyeing him with a playful look, “I thought you were supposed to be a pirate. Isn’t announcing your pillaging against some code?”
  “No, it’s not like that,” he catches the smithy’s wrist and tugs, and while Four stumbles just a bit, he lets himself be pulled a bit closer to the stall so Wind can point out the rod sitting innocuously amidst jewellery and fabric, like some sort of stylized cane or staff instead of a Cautious Ravio level of Dangerous Item. “I need to steal that.”
  Four hums. “Okay, and you’re telling me…”
  “I need your help.”
  He expects some hesitation or thought, but all Four does is cock his head, stare at the item, one hand reaching to stroke his chin before aborting with a shrug. “Okay.”
  He really thought Four would be more against crimes than this. Still, a partner in crime is a partner in crime (in this case literally) and Four seems to take no issue with following him over to the stall in question. He’s not sure, off the top of his head, how he plans to go about stealing the thing, but he’s a pirate and he’s good at theft, he can handle this.
  As it would turn out, he does not end up needing to handle this, which turns out to be for the better, because the merchant who owns the stall watches him like a hawk. Of course theft would be a common problem in a place such as this, and apparently Wind, lanky, young, still just this side of man-hood, looks all too well the part of a troublesome youth looking to score a steal, and no matter if a customer comes to the stall or not, the man seems to keep an eye on him at all times.
  Fortunately, Four, well dressed in bright jewel tones as he is, is not regarded with such distaste. If anything, the merchant motions to the smithy while speaking to a patron and points out “the cute lil’ lass” which Wind only very nearly prevents himself from laughing at.
  Dark eyes trail back to him coldly at the coughing he makes while trying to avoid laughter though, but then the man is turning back to his patron. “Recken she’s some small thing from these merchant folk, her da’ll pay well for whatever catches her fancy, all these rich folks are that way; coughin’ up rupees fer what’er pleased their kids.”
  With an eye on his customer and one on Wind, the merchant doesn’t have enough eyes to catch the scathing glance the smithy shoots the man’s way at hearing that.
  Four would usually correct someone, but considering they’re trying to keep a low profile, the smithy blessedly keeps his mouth shut.
  Wind turns back to a pile of jewellery. Absently, he wonders if he could barter a ring out of the man to provide a window for Four to stash the rod in his pack or something.
  He doesn’t get the chance to try.
  “Hoy there! Where do you think you’re going, lass!”
  The sailor spins about just in time to see the merchant catch Four by the back of his bright tunic, and…
  Oh Spirits, Four didn’t even bother to stash the rod. Is this the first time the smithy has stollen something?
  In hindsight, it probably is; Four’s fame in his home era after all did start with him vanquishing pirates and dealing with thieves.
  And that’s how they end up as they are. The merchant goes from laughing and smiling at the smithy to trying to twist the small hero’s arm and demanding answers about where he’s going, and- well, what was Wind supposed to do?
  “Hey!” He squawks, and yes, he most certainly did overturn that display on purpose as he rushes over to his brother’s side. “Let go!”
  “You’re together then,” the man hisses, narrowing his eyes, “I shoulda guessed. What respectable lass goes snoopin’ about without a guard or her mam around to watch that she ain’t taken? Thieves, the both of you!”
  “We’re not thieves!” Wind protests, despite the fact that they are, in fact, thieves. Well, he is anyway. “We’re just kids!” And then, as inspiration hits, he adds, “now let my little sister go!” Oh yeah, he’s so going to owe Four one after this.
  Luckily, Four doesn’t stumble once, instead squirming in the man’s hands and, somehow, managing to muster up a stream of tears as he fights weakly (as a small child would) against the hands restraining him. “Let me go!” The smithy squeaks, “I just wanted to show Mama!”
  “‘Show mama’?” the man mocks, and shakes Four harder than is probably safe to shake a child, “and where’s your mama at, little miss snitch?”
  “Right here.”
  Wind could kiss Legend on the cheek, although he’d probably owe the vet even more if he did after the man has just stepped in to save their asses, Twilight and Wild both on his heels.
  Oh crap, this is going to become another Violet situation isn’t it?
  “Mum!” it bursts out of him as he darts to the vet’s side, hands catching on red fabric as he looks up at the vet as though pleading for help, and he is, he is so pleading. He is pleading so very much and genuinely, see?
  No really, he really is. He really didn’t think this one through.
  “We were just looking, I swear, and Violet wanted to show you something, but this mean man-”
  Twilight is staring. Twilight and Wild are both starring in something between shock and confusion and Wild’s brows are very quickly disappearing under his hair as they rise higher and higher with every word out of Wind’s throat.
  Oh yeah, he’s going to owe Legend big time.
  “Mama!” Four wails, quite convincingly as he kicks at his captor, “make him let me go!”
  For a brief moment, Wind can see the resignation and pain in Legend’s eyes, but then the vet is steeling himself and then, at the very top of his lungs (which only drives home how much like last time this will be) shouts “let go of my child, you horrid man!” in what is possibly the most hystericaly angry voice Wind has heard from anyone, never mind from the vet.
  Wild chokes.
  The scream, however, has what he can only assume is the intended effect, because the crowd immediately near them all whips around so fast he’s sort of shocked they don’t downright fall over, and then all eyes are on them.
  Again.
  Well, apparently if Legend’s going to cover up for your crimes and save your ass he’s going to do it by being as loud as possible. Honestly, Wind doesn’t care, as long as it works.
  It does work. The man immediately lets go of Four, and then the smithy is all but flinging himself into the veteran’s arms, where he’s immediately caught and held while Legend once more adopts the same act as the time before, fussing and murmuring with terrifyingly believable distress as he looks at the bruising on Four’s arm and then immediately pulls the smithy closer, looking up at the merchant with fury in his eyes. “How could you do this to a child! She was only looking, she wasn’t causing any harm!”
  Frosty violet eyes fix the merchant in place, and the man takes a step back at the sight of them.
  Two kids causing trouble, he was prepared for. What appears to be a finely dressed young mother who perceives her child to have been attacked, he was not prepared for at all. “She was stealing!”
  “She’s only eight!” Wind protests, wrapping an arm around Four’s shoulders and pouting up at the man accusingly, but also cutely because he needs to play up the role of a child right now, rather than even try and look at all serious and mature like he usually would try to.
  “She’s only eight!” Legend repeats, likeways wrapping an arm around Wind. “How dare you! It’s her first time at a big market, how was she to know the rules! I’m teaching her the best I can but I can only be so many places at once!”
  Past the vet’s arm, and now that the attention is on Legend and not himself, Wind can glance out and see the crowd. Eyes are fixed on them, murmurs already rising and disapproving looks being shot at the merchant even as crystal tears in amethyst eyes begin to garner sympathy and pity from the onlookers while Legend switches out the furious mother act for the overworked and struggling one.
  Amidst it all, Wind can clearly see Time and Warriors, watching them. Time has the most confused expression on his face, neither privy to the events of last time or apparently aware of what’s happening now, but Warriors…
  Oh gods, Warriors looks so done already.
  “I don’t care how old she is, a thief is a thief!” The merchant yells, and with his words, Legend starts back, dragging Four and Wind with him and drawing the sailor’s attention back to the man before them. Said man is currently red in the face and huffing, both trying to uphold his right to punish the thieves who attempted to steal from him, but also under the judgemental stares of the whole market.
  “You can’t hold a child responsible for such a silly mistake!”
  “You’re right,” the man breathes, and while it almost sounds like he’s trying to contain and calm himself, Wind sees the flash of his eyes before the man steps closer and raises a hand, definitely and truly beyond reason at this point, “the parents are the ones to be held responsible.”
  Legend could catch that hand. Wind could, Four could. Any one of them could do something to avoid it, but that would come at the cost of dropping the act, and while unspoken, the rule remains to never drop an act, although at what cost he’s not sure.
  “Stop right there!”
  Hang on, is that-? And it is.
  Warriors is storming over, and it’s such a dramatic and poetic image; the captain stalking along the street, armour glistening and scarf billowing out behind, that if he wasn’t playing a part, Wind would definitely be grinning a bit at it. After all, it’s like something straight out of one of the stories he’d told Aryll when they were kids. Well, younger kids.
  To the merchant however, Wind knows that’s not the case. The merchant sees the blazing blue eyes and the silver sword and he stops mid-swing, face paling as the captain comes to stand beside the three younger heroes, hand settling on Legend’s shoulder and stare stone cold. As someone who's seen that stare employed before, Wind’s honestly surprised the man doesn’t piss himself.
 “Lay a hand on my family,” the captain growls, and yes, he actually growls, “and I’ll cut it off.”
  Twilight whistles lowly.
  Oh dang, add Warriors to the list of people he owes. This is really getting out of hand.
  “Who are you?” The man stammers, stepping back but not away, gaze trailing up and across the knight and taking in sparkling armour and steely stare, sweat beading across the salesman's face with each passing second.
  “Papa,” Four whimpers, and oh gosh he’s good, “I was just trying to show Mama the pretty staff…”
  “I see.” Warriors doesn’t even look down to the smithy still plastered across Legend’s front, instead staring until the merchant squirms under his gaze. “What pretty staff, precious?”
  Oh no. Oh Hylia, the endearments. Oh gods Wars is so going to sit him down about this. Endearments aren’t uncommon from the captain, but “precious”? Oh no, that one isn’t one he uses, and it’s a clear warning to the sailor at least that he’s going to be answering a lot of questions later.
  Dang it, all this over a stupid rod!
  “That one,” Four turns and points to the item lying on the ground by their feet, “I thought it looked like something Mama could use for her magic.”
  Ah, yes Four, drop the fact that Legend can do magic, that’ll definitely scare the shit out of those present and hopefully convince this guy to just let the scoot. Please? Please let that work?
  Except it doesn’t because Warriors recognizes the item too, and he’s bending to scoop up the troublesome rod in question even as the merchant protests and splutters.
  “Ah.”
  Oh yeah, someone’s screwed.
  “Is that…” Legend pauses, and the act drops for a moment, however brief, as he stares at the item. His item. His thing that Ravio never explained but said was his and which now looks very, very old.
  “Where did you get this?” Warriors demands, and now he really is mad. Someone threatening to hit his family is bad, but knowing Wars, he wasn’t really all that mad since he knows they can all defend themselves with ease. Stealing from a shrine? Yeah no, that’s territory even Wind isn’t willing to cross.
  The merchant huffs. He’s got guts, Wind will give him that. A lesser man would have caved or run away or even just tried to snivel and plead to avoid the wrath of this odd little family and the crowd watching them, but he doesn’t, and for that Wind has to give him props. He’s got guts. “Not that it’s any of your business, but I traded for it. It’s a powerful magical rod, capable of-”
  “Nothing.” Legend interjects, releasing his hold on Wind (rude) to reach for the rod in the captain’s hand, and Warriors lets him, gaze trailing down to watch the vet inspect the thing with a frown. “It’s damaged,” Legend continues, frowning as gnarled fingers trace the stone set on top, the actual source of the thing’s supposed magic. A sigh. “Violet, this was hardly worth the fuss,” the vet frowns and hands the item off, casually, to the captain.
  Warriors holds it, scowling. “Probably best if we didn't buy it then, love. Besides, it being stolen from a shrine, Hylia only knows what sort of curses the gods would have put on it.”
  Oh. Oh yes. Wind is very near smiling, but doesn’t even as he watches his older brothers play it out perfectly, not a word passed between to communicate, not even a look, but picking up the threads the other lays with all the skill of the most masterful weaver of lies, and it’s working too. While the heroes look at each other in confusion, and Twilight is sort of smirking in that utterly lost and confused but also humored way he does, the merchant is quickly paling again.
  “Cursed?”
  “Of course,” Legend scoffs, straightening up but not shaking off the arm Warriors still has about his shoulders, “anything stolen from a shrine would be cursed. The souls of the dead never take kindly to people disrespecting them so blatantly.”
  “But I didn’t steal it!” The man protests.
  The vet sniffs, tossing his head and looking down his nose at the man, even as the captain follows his lead and likewise stares the man down with all the revulsion one would assume someone married to a great mage might have. “That hardly matters, sir. Frankly, anyone who disrespects such a sacred thing, be it in sale or theft, is simply begging suffering on themselves, and I’m hardly inclined to wish that upon my children.”  Violet eyes then turn to them, and both he and Four can feel the weight and warning in them as Legend stares, not dropping the act but also not entirely acting anymore. “Which is why I’ll be sure to make sure this never happens again.”
  It won’t.
  “All the same, love,” Warriors murmurs, and there’s a step made, and they pulled along, “it’s likely best if we finish our business as soon as possible. I’d rather we head back to the ship and leave port before whatever bad fortune that thing is cursed with reveals itself.” He shakes his head, staring at the item even as the vet takes his lead and starts ushering both younger heroes away. “They say that shrine was one for a goddess’ son, so I can only imagine how that will play out.”
  The weight of their words seems to hit as the captain makes a turn, and while Wind can’t see it, he can definitely hear the feet pattering after them and the man calling out, now suddenly closer. It makes him stop and try to peek around Legend, who sighs but follows his lead to look as the man thrusts the rod in question at their captain. “Please! If you know where it’s from, send it back! Maybe the spirits will forgive me if I restore what was taken from them. Please sir!”
  “After you attacked my wife and child?” And Warriors definitely learned that haughty, contemptuous voice from all the balls and dealings with nobles he’s suffered through after the war, “I don’t think so.”
  “But you know where it came from!” The man tries, “I don’t!”
  “Darling,” and the word almost grates off of Legend’s lips, hand coming to settle in the crook of the captain’s arm.
  Wind is going to owe Legend the best freaking thing ever, although what, he’s not sure, since Legend has everything already.
  “Perhaps we should help.”
  “Someone like this?” He has no clue why Warriors is making this harder than it has to be, and with the attention of all others on the captain and vet, he and Four exchange a quick glance of confusion.
  “Think of all the innocent people this fool has endangered,” Legend continues, still glaring at the man and item in question. “We can’t let his greed and foolishness cause their demise! Such a thing would surely disrupt the spirits even further.”
  Ah yes, the warning of a mage. It sets the people about them fussing and worrying, until there are others stepping out from the crowd and begging until at last Warriors 'concedes’ and accepts the rod, which is quickly handed back to its original owner and stashed away in the vet’s bag.
  That should be the end of it, but like last time, it’s not. Because people.
  Wind really loves people most times, but right now he’d rather they just… not. He’d rather they not watch, or worry, or fuss. He’d rather not, but he’s sure that even if they didn’t, Legend would still be catching Four’s hand as they walk and Warriors would still be setting a hand on his shoulder that is heavy, oh so very heavy.
  He’d also rather they not because when he sees Tetra staring at him from within the crowd, face red with unreleased laughter, he can’t do anything about it except keep his head down and silently bemoan the loss of whatever sort of respect he may have gained among his fellow pirates.
  He botched a simple theft. He had to be rescued by a soldier and a teenage boy in a dress pretending to be his mother.
  He is never going to live this down.
  “At least,” Four murmurs, once they’ve moved to the edge of the market, finished with their shopping and with the eyes of the others all trailing after them with innumerable questions, “I got to be older this time.”
  Legend sighs, releasing the smithy’s hand to rub at his temples, figure blocked by the captain’s own and thus out of sight of the market behind them. “Oy vey, you two.”
  “We owe you guys big time,” he tries.
  Warriors snorts, grip tightening on his shoulder. “You owe us an explanation, but yeah, big time, sailor.”
  Ahead, the ship is waiting, Tetra leaning against the bulwarks and smirking down at him with danger in her eyes and laughter already touching her lips, and Wind sighs.
  This is never going to go away.
  He kind of regrets teasing Legend now for last time.
Undercover Part 2
Miranda Hilmarson x fem reader
Previous / Next / Series
Summary: After disposing the body you started looking for someone new to replace the person you just killed. That was when your path crossed Miranda’s
Warnings: body disposal, threatening, violence, gangs
Requests open
———————————
Raphael made his way through the large building before heading out to find these people on your list. He saw the two lads you had left in charge of disposing of the body and he didn’t have much hope for them doing a good job. This was probably their second job and he really didn’t want to get in trouble for their screw up.
“Oi lads! I’m coming with you! Now hurry up and get the fucking body into the car!” He shouted at them. He looked over at them and then at the body that was just wrapped in a black plastic bag. “You idiots. Did you listen to a word I said? You will get us caught. One of you go and grab that large suitcase. The other go and mix up some quick drying cement” Raphael told the two lads.
Thankfully they were quick to respond to him as he was your second in command. “Alright, help me get him into the suitcase. While we are doing this you can start pouring the cement into the bottom of the case” he told the two men. “Why are we doing this?” One of them asked Raphael.
“Because when we dump the suitcase in the ocean the body will just sink. Also if we fill the case with quick drying cement then if the case gets damaged then it shouldn’t float back up revealing the body” he told the two idiots that were helping him cover up a serious crime.
Once the body was finally in the case the three men helped put the suitcase into the back of the truck. “I trust you to remember where I told you to dump the body,” Raphael asked the men. “Yes sir” they said before driving off to the desired location.
The whole ride there was filled with an awkward silence for the two men in front. Raphael didn’t really care as he knew that the men were scared of him and scared of messing up. When the men arrived at the destination Raphael stayed in the back of the truck while he watched the men dump the suitcase over the edge of a cliff and straight into the ocean.
Now that it was done he watched the two men relax slightly before heading back to the truck to leave the scene of the crime. “So where are we dropping you sir?” One of the lads asked Raphael. They knew that he wasn’t tagging along just to keep them company.
Raphael looked down at the first address on the notepad. “13 Aldon Grove” Raphael told the two men. “Alright sir. We will drop you off there” one of them responded. “Thanks boys. Make sure you get straight back to the hangout otherwise the boss might get angry” he told the boys warning them of your behaviour when you're already mad.
It didn’t take long before they dropped Raphael off at the address he had given the boys. “See you later. Remember what I said. Straight back” he told them before jumping out the truck and heading to the house with the number 13 on it.
The truck sped off leaving Raphael on his own. He was quick to head to the front door of the house and start banging to get the owners attention. It wasn’t long before the owner answered the door. “Can I help you?” He asked not having a clue who Raphael was.
“Hester Wheelock?” Raphael asked the man. “Yeah? Who are you?” He asked. “You don’t need to worry about who I am. You need to worry about who I work for” Raphael smirked before pushing his way into their home.
“Oh shit! Please. I need more time. I don’t have the money yet” Hester begged Raphael. “Well you should’ve thought about that before buying drugs that you couldn’t pay back. Y/n is getting impatient! You have a week before we come back and finish this properly. Trust me, I know it won’t end well for you” Raphael smirked before storming out the building.
“Remember who fucking owns you now Hester! The Wildings! That’s who!” Raphael shouted before walking off and making his way to the next house. As he was walking down the street he realised that someone was following behind him. He turned around slowly trying to get a glimpse of the person.
He didn’t have time for this so he turned around to confront the person. “Can I help you?” Raphael snapped at the person who was tagging along. To his surprise it was a woman and he could tell she was scared of him.
“Umm sorry. I just had to ask but did I overhear that you are a part of The Wildlings gang?” The woman asked. Raphael looked around before walking closer to the woman. “Why do you want to know?” He asked sternly.
The woman started to stutter in panic but managed to get out an answer quite quickly. “I’m in a difficult situation and I need a way to earn money. I’ve dealt with other gangs before but they didn’t work out. I have been trying to get into The Wildings for a while but I didn’t know how I went about getting into the gang” the woman explained.
“What is your name?” Raphael asked. “My name is Miranda. Miranda Hilmarson” she told Raphael. “Well it’s your lucky day Miranda. We have a position that has literally just opened up. You will start off doing small jobs first but if you get the job you will definitely work your way up the ranks” Raphael said smiling at the woman.
“I have to finish the job I’m on but if I give you the address of the hangout and find y/n and say that Raphael sent you then I’m sure you will have no problem getting into the gang” Raphael said before writing down the address on Miranda’s hand.
“I was sent out to recruit a new member but the boss wants to meet the new employee first before confirming anything. So if all goes well with her then you're in Miranda” Raphael smiled. “Anyway I have to go but I would get there as soon as possible. Y/n doesn’t like to be kept waiting. I will text her to let her know to expect you! Hopefully I will see you around” Raphael said before running off to finish his jobs.
Miranda just looked down at her hand before grabbing her phone and typing in the address. The sooner she gets there the sooner she can hopefully work her way into the gang. Miranda looked down at her phone before following the directions her phone was giving her.
Back at the hangout you had just finished taking a shower. This was just what you needed. It was great to have a bedroom and ensuite attached to your office. It always came in handy plus if you ever needed somewhere else to stay you had the option.
You entered your bedroom from the bathroom and got changed into something that was a bit less bloody. You didn’t plan on going anywhere else so you got into a comfortable tracksuit. Once you were sorted out you made your way back into your office to get on with some work that needed doing.
After about an hour you heard a knock on the door. You didn’t bother looking up. You knew who it was. Raphael had texted you not too long ago letting you know to expect someone. “Come in” you shouted as you continued scribbling down notes on the piece of paper in front of you.
You heard the door open and close as the woman walked into your office. You finished writing down what you needed to jot down before looking up at the woman in front of you. “Miranda is it? Please take a seat” you told the woman.
She nervously takes a seat in front of your desk. “So tell me. Why should I let you join my gang” you asked Miranda. Miranda shifted in her seat before answering. “Umm well I’ve worked in other gangs before but I’ve been trying to get in your gang for a while. I never really knew how to go about getting in. I guess the real reason is I need money and I heard you pay your employees well as well as provide great protection” Miranda said to you.
“Well that is true but you have to realise that the reason I pay so well and offer great protection is because of how serious my crimes are. As you work your way up the ranks I will be getting you to do more serious jobs. Like today I tortured and killed one of my employees because they spoke about ratting me out to the feds. If that is something you can deal with knowing that crossing me can lead to serious consequences. I need you to know how serious this position is as I don’t want to have to kill someone as beautiful as you” you smiled at her.
Miranda didn’t quite know what to say. She was thrilled about the compliment but the rest of what you said sounded pretty scary. Miranda has a quick think to herself before answering. “If you are happy to employ me then I would love to take the job including the risks that come with it” Miranda told you.
You sat back in your chair and smiled. “Well welcome to the crew then Miranda. You start tomorrow. Meet me back here tomorrow morning at 9:00 o’clock sharp. Don’t worry too much about what to wear and we don’t chuck you in the deep end. We’re not monsters” you laughed.
“Ok. So how should I refer to you from now on?” Miranda asks. “Well most people refer to me as ‘boss’ but you Miranda can call me y/n. I only let certain people call me by my first name so consider yourself lucky” you smiled at the beautiful woman in front of you.
“Ok y/n. I will see you tomorrow” Miranda said before standing up and leaving your office. You couldn’t help but smile to yourself as she left your office. Hopefully your relationship with Miranda could cross over the work relationship and lead to something more you thought to yourself.
Miranda left the building and waited until she was almost at home before calling a contact on her phone. “I’m in” she said to the unknown contact. “Well down Constable Hilmarson. We should take the gang down in no time now we have someone on the inside” the deep voice said from the other end of the line.
She huffed and puffed, feeling her hot angry breath as she feel the tears coming out. But she tried to stop them, she wasn't going to cry, no, she's not a crybaby... Alice shook her head as she tried to breathe as she continued walking.
How could her friends do this to her... saying she needs time away from Chaotic... why? She was fine... she wasn't... she was fine... She doesn't understand why... the M'arrillians evasion ended.. everything is okay...everything is fine!! Things can go back to the way they were... right?
She huffed as she turned, only to realize... 'W-where am I?' She looked around, she didn't realized how far she was from her friends...
Alice searched around as she walked slowly, as she walked, she noticed the strange plant life around her, huh, they look familiar, she thought. She made her way through the place, avoiding the flowing bubbles around her.
She looked to her scanner and thought... 'Maybe I should message them... they'll probably find me.. in this..place' The silence was haunting as she shivered in fear. She didn't like it...
Alice moved quickly while texting, her heart was beating fast, 'Calm down..calm down...calm down..Calm down- Ahhh!' She slipped as she gasped, half screaming as she didn't see the edge of a cliff. She thought she was going to fall but, something...grabbed her shirt and hold her...
She blinked as she felt being pulled back up and onto the safety of the ground, away from the edge. She was on her knees as she breathe slowly, "I-I, thank you... you guys, look, I was going to text you and I didn't see the cliff-" Alice spoke as she looked to see what she thought were her friends but her eyes widened, it wasn't them... no, it was someone worse...
A large creature with a strange body with a mysterious substance that glows, he wore ancient armor and his eyes shined as he looked at her.
No one moved as Alice shivered, "R-Rath'tab..W-What are you doing here?" "I saw you coming here.. you look lost."
"I-I'm not lost and I'm just going to go and-" Alice said as she tried to leave but Rath'tab stopped her from leaving, eyes watching her.
"S-Stay away from me, you'll be trouble if any of the creatures find you, you know what happened last time." Rath'tab chuckled softly, "Oh Alice...I'm not going to hurt you... you don't look well."
Alice shook her head as she tried to be brave, "No I'm fine... you don't know what you are talking about.." "You look hurted." "I'm not- I'm not..."
She turned her head away from him, "What do you know, you don't know me.." she was going to say something but felt something on her hair, she looked to see a flower placed on her, a purple hibiscus, her eyes widened. She looked to see Rath-tab's hands on her as she felt them on her cheeks, and then she felt a bit of her tears come out...
"It's okay Alice... Oh Alice, it's alright, I don't have to read your thoughts to know your sadness..." "Y-You can't read my mind?" Rath'tab shook his head, "No.. so you don't have to worry my dear.."
Alice's breathing slowed down, Rath'tab continued, "You don't have to worry about anything Alice... things are different now..." He smiled softly, "I can show you.."
"I-I don't know, my friends.." "Don't worry my dear... they won't mind, and you'll be back to them soon, they can wait." Rath'tab let go of her cheeks as he floated to her side as he lend a hand to her, "Come with me into the Coral."
Alice hesitated, her friends, they may be worried, but she remembered their words, she frowned as she turned to Rath'tab as she took his hand. "Yeah, it's fine..." Rath'tab smiled as he led her away from the Coral garden as he took her farther away from a group of friends that were nearby, looking for their lost friend....
------------------------
Man, the plot thickens in this Chaotic AU lore heheh ;3
Rath'tab is a big favorite of mine when it comes to creatures, probably the best M'arrillian I have seen, he's a mystery and I wish there was more lore about him. But I guess I'll be the one to do it. :3
There will be more stories with these two, that I can promise you that. And I hope you guys are ready for the angst to come. ;3
I hope you guys like it and the short story, this was one of my favorite pieces I have drawn and I'm really happy with the final results. X3
Enjoy!! <3
Clark Kent (Smallville) Short Story - Chapter 19
Tumblr media
After the whole ordeal with your brother, you knew it would be a while before you could fall back into that rhythm.
So much has happened.
You’re still internalizing. Although you’ve managed to mend the bridge with Harry, you know that expecting that pain of losing Aaron won’t just vanish. You need time. There’s also the issue about his powers.
“I’m going to turn you into a god.”
Those words are a distant echo.
Your brother was probably insane, but you couldn’t deny that he had power. He seemed so sure when he spoke that you possessed the same. You want to chalk it up to delusions, but you haven’t felt the same since that night.
With a heavy sigh, you step through the door of Harry’s lab.
“This place seems to get bigger every time I come.” You mumble.
Harry smiles, tinkering with some device. He’s at his desk, helping some of the scientists with who knows what.
“I built Star Labs to manifest all my greatest ideas.”
His cube box lights up, and the intern grins excitedly.
“There you go. Remember to charge thoroughly.”
Y-Yes sir! Thank you!”
The younger man runs off with a brilliant smile and you roll your eyes.
“It’s weird the way they worship you. You’re such a nerd.”
Harry places his index finger on your forehead pushing you and you slap it away as you smack his shoulder. Caitlin walks into the cortex, clearly accustomed to your fighting. Some of the other scientists just watch the exchange with a laugh.
“He’s a bully!” You protest.
Caitlin smiles.
“Stop bullying your sister Harry.”
Harry lowers his hand almost obediently. You smirk.
“Yeah Harry, listen to Dr. Snow.”
You send a suggestive wink and Caitlin looks puzzled. Harry just sends you a death stare.
You reach to give his arm another playful hit, but the second your hand makes contact you feel your body jolt. You blink, and the structure of the room has changed remarkably. You turn in a panic.
“H-Harry!!”
A spark of lightning appears before you and you’re relieved.
It must be him.
The man that is standing before you however is definitely not your brother.
“Who are you? How did you get in here?”
The brunette male isn’t a face you recognize. You back up, clearly scared.
“I-I don’t…t-this doesn’t..”
You try to make a run for it. Spinning around, you run right into someone. You grab their arm, and with another panicked breath, your eyes adjust to the room.
“Keep hitting me and I’m going to retaliate.”
Harry’s blank tone pulls you back in. Your expression must be comedic.
“Did your brain finally have a short?” He snarks.
You mean to say something, anything. Pulling away from him, you look around, trying to ensure that you are indeed standing in Star Labs.
“(Y/N)?”
You look back at him. You’d like to tell him what just happened. Explain to him that you might be going crazy, but you still don’t know what this is. So causing him unnecessary panic won’t do any good. You exhale and work up the best smile that you can.
“You’re still a nerd.”
Harry rolls his eyes, turning back to his work, and you move to take a seat and gather your bearings.
It’ll be a long week.
~
“Mythology, mythology..”
You keep mumbling the words as you search for the section with fiction. Since you couldn’t truly explain what happened, you figured the next best thing would be to research. Mythology is what Aaron mentioned when he took you. There must be something. Anything that could give you just the slightest idea of what the hell you saw back at Star Labs.
Your fingers brush over the books.
“This is taking longer than I expected.”
You hate that you have to sneak out behind Harry’s back.
“Damn it where are you!!”
You probably shouldn’t be screaming in the middle of a library. You’re just expecting the librarian to rush over angrily, but it appears your little quirk has struck again. You feel like you’ve just fallen off a cliff.
Your shoulder hits the side of a desk and you hear gasps echo right as you tumble to the floor. You groan at the fall, and when you open your eyes. Some people are leaning over looking down at you.
“Jenkins, where did she come from?”
“If I knew that Mr. Jones, I wouldn’t be standing here just as confused.”
“She looks hungry, are you hungry?” The redhead asks.
“Guys, let her breathe.” The blond woman states.
You jump to your feet and they all back up.
“W-Where am I?”
The place is stacked with books all around.
“Why, you’re in the library of course. Cassandra, it’s nice to meet you.” The redhead holds out her hand, and you just stare.
“The library..w-what library?! What the hell is going on!!”
“Okay calm down. Maybe we can help? My name is Eve Baird. We’re just here to help I promise.”
You’re still weary, and the older man standing ahead of you narrows his eyes.
“You got into the library, that’s not common. What kind of god are you?”
“I’m not a god!!”
You yell defensively, slamming your hand on the desk.
That clearly wasn’t the best choice. You roll forward as the wood gives away from the weight, and you crash into something hard. When you gather your footing, you’re holding onto a bookshelf.
“Please leave.”
The angry older woman is actually a face you recognize.
“I-I’m back..”
Your eyes shift around to ensure that you are actually back in Smallville. You catch sight of a sign behind her head, and you sigh, running out of there.
“Whatever this is..I need to stop it.”
It needs to happen now.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Killua Zoldyck X afab!Reader
Sypnosis: After years of finally settling in with a humble family of her own, MC shared a story about her and her beloved husband to her twin children.
Word Count: 1,105
Tumblr media
"Mama! Mama!" The twins called as they pat the couch beside them. "Tell us a story!" I chuckled, then smiled. "Okay," Sitting down on the couch, I cupped my chin with my fingers. "How about a story about Mama and Papa when we were younger?" "Yeah! That works!" They stared intensely at me, waiting for the story. "Okay, so one time..."
Tumblr media
The wind weaved through your hair as you stood still in one place on a cliff. "(y-(y/n)." Killua called as he came up behind you. You turned around and smiled. "What?" "I-It's time for lunch. Let's go." He turned around and started walking. "If you don't come right now, you're gonna get lost!" "Okay okay!" You caught up to the silver-haired boy and smiled. "So?  How's Gon and Mito-san?" You asked, wanting to know whether or not they were getting along.  "They're alright. Far better than what we've been thinking." The ends of your lips curved up into a smile. "That's nice." Killua nodded. "Yeah." A pregnant silence was between you two until you guys reached the house. "Killua!" Gon called out to his ex-assassin friend. "Ah, you found (y/n) too? Let's go eat! We were waiting for you guys." You drooled from the scent of the food, but quickly wiped it away. "Yeah! It smells good!"
Tumblr media
When they all finished eating, (y/n) ran outside to the cliff again. The waves crashed into the cliff; the salty yet cool water drops splats on the (h/c) haired girl. "(y/n)!" A voice called from behind her. She turned around and saw Killua. "Ah, Killua. Need something?" The said male blushed and stumbled backward, putting his hands behind him. "U-uh..!" His face reddened up; he looked down. Killua took some steps forward slowly, then started to walk faster. Stopping in front of (y/n), he crouched down. "C.. Close your eyes…!" He urged. (y/n) raised her eyebrows, but closed her eyes anyways. His hand brushed against her ear as something slid between it. "I-I gotta go play with Gon. He's probably looking for me now…!" He lifted his hand away and ran away, with his ears a deep red. (y/n) opened her eyes, gazing at the boy's back and running away. She touched her ear, feeling a flower. She took it off; wanting to see it. It was a simple, but beautiful small flower. (y/n) smiled and set it back behind her ear. When she arrived at the house, she knocked on the door. "Coming!" A distant voice could be heard from the inside. The door opened, revealing a surprised Mito. "(y/n)? Why are you here? You usually don't come until someone goes and gets you." (y/n) smiled. "I'd like to be responsible for once. I can't?" She smiled back. "No, that'd be a nice change. Huh? Where'd you get that flower? It's really pretty!" "Mm… It's a secret!  But thank you!"
When the two boys came back into the house they saw Mito and (y/n) talking. Killua saw the flower, still in the place she put it. "Oh? (y/n), where'd you get that flower? Killua, come and look at it! It's pretty!" "Ah s-sure..!"
Tumblr media
"… The end," I said and smiled. "How did you guys like it?" They stared at me, mouths open agape. "It didn't really make sense.." (older twin's name) said, trailing off. "But it was interesting!" (younger twin's name) added. My hopes went down for a bit until "It was a beautiful story." A familiar voice from behind the three of us said. "Killua!" I turned around and saw Killua behind us. He leaned down and kissed my cheek. "I'm home." The twins held out their hands at Killua. "Papa! I want a kiss too!" Killua chuckled and kissed them on their foreheads. "Better?" "Yup!"
Imagine Shuri trying to cover for you with Okoye when you get injured
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"How bad is it?" You asked Shuri when she shot you a worried look over her shoulder.
The Princess had spent the past few minutes looking over a x-ray of your body to determine. How bad the injuries you sustained on your last mission were. Her back was to you as you sat on the medical table waiting for a verdict. An icepack pressed to your ribs on your left side to help with the pain.
"Just how hard did you fall?" She asked turning around.
"Well it started out a fall then I kind of tumbled all the way down the cliff. If it wasn't for the gunman cushioning my fall I probably wouldn't have be able to make it back on my own" You told her.
"Y/N you might have been better off calling for help" Shuri said walking over to you. She switched the tablet around in her hand, so you could see it more clearly. "Your ribs are completely broken on the left side, and that right shoulder sprain will take time to heal."
You gawked at all of the red highlights around your x-ray body. "What about the other stuff?"
"Those are smaller injuries that should clear up in a day or two. If you rest your body properly, and take the medicine I give you." Shuri instructed with an accusing tone. You had a bad habit of not taking medication whenever she gave it too you.
"Is there nothing you can do for my ribs or shoulder?" You asked.
Shuri shook her head. "I can help lessen the pain but you're going to have to endure the healing period naturally."
"General Okoye is approaching the lab Princess Shuri" Groi's voice cut in to inform both of you.
Your eyes widened in fear as you tossed the icepack over your shoulder.
"Hey watch where you're throwing things in my lab" Shuri protested.
"Yeah sorry." You apologized snatching the tablet out of her hand in order to make the x-ray scan go away. Although you were in such a panic you weren't doing it right. Shuri took it back and with a simple wave of her hand. The injury report was gone replaced with a new armor design.
"No matter what don't tell Okoye why I'm really here" You pleaded.
"Come on y/n its Okoye she can see through just about anyone." Shuri complained getting rid of the evidence on the bigger screen as well.
"Just come up with something" You whispered-yelled dropping your voice down. At the sound of the elevator doors opening and a footsteps entering the lab. A few seconds Okoye reached the end of the lamp with a love in her eyes. When they found your own, and you did your best to return it. Despite the blinding pain coming from your ribs, and the way your shoulder lit up in agony. When you braced your hands on the medical table as you hopped down.
"My love you have finally returned" Okoye said walking over to you. She pressed a quick kiss to your cheek. "What are doing in here? Nakia is waiting for your mission report."
"I just needed to stop by to see Shuri first" You said with a small shrug.
"What for?" She questioned again glancing back and forth between the two of you. When Shuri refused to meet her gaze, and you started to stammer out lame excuses. It hit her and she turned her back to you with a small frown. "Are you hurt?"
"What no" You lied too fast.
Okoye opened her mouth to demand the truth from you just as Shuri blurted out. "She broke her spear."
There was nothing but silence for ten long seconds as your head whipped in the Princess's direction. You mouthed out "seriously" at her before dragging a hand over your face.
Okoye had a look of disbelief on her face but Shuri just shrugged with a sheepish smile. Finally the General guided your face back to hers with a raised eyebrow. "How exactly did you manage that?"
"Um I just well I threw it too hard" You said your hand moving to latch onto her wrist. As it wandered down to waist on your left side brushing over your injured ribs for a brief second. Before you moved it away instead folding your hand into hers. "I don't really remember."
Okoye didn't seem to be buying it but before she could either of you further for the truth. Her kimoyo beads started vibrating when she lifted her wrist to answer it. A hologram of Nakia popped up "have you found y/n yet. I need to regroup with her."
"I got her right here with me give us five minutes and we'll meet up with you" Okoye reassured her. Nakia nodded then hung up. Okoye shot both you and Shuri a look of suspicion before motioning for you to follow her. You thanked Bast for Nakia's last minute call and followed your girlfriend out of the lab.
You assumed you were out of hot water and could relax, but it was when the two of you reached the end of the hallway. Okoye stopped catching by the wrist. You looked back at her in confusion. She simply tugged you back till you were standing in front of her, and then she gently placed her hands on your hips to push you up against the wall. "My love how did you break the spear?"
"I told you I don't remember" You insisted.
"Was it when you ambushed the convoy you were supposed to put a tracker on" she pushed.
You stopped yourself short of bringing the entire lie down. If you admitted to being the one who attacked the convoy, then she would you were lying about being hurt. "No my love the ambush was someone else. I missed the rendezvous point and couldn't get the tracker on the armored truck. I decided it was just best to pull back" You said eyes diverting to the ceiling. As if you were disappointed in yourself for failing the mission. In honesty you were trying to avoid eye contact knowing that with her being this close, and no escape route in sight. Okoye would be able to coax the truth out of you easier.
"So you weren't in battle at all" Okoye stated.
You nodded still avoiding eye contact. Her hand started to drift towards your left side again. She watched carefully as your hand latched onto her wrist again preventing her from making contact again. But this time you weren't even paying attention to her, so it was done out of instinct. As if you were guarding an injury.
"My love look at me" Okoye said in a soft tone. Instead of listening you peeked around the corner hoping to see someone coming. "Shouldn't we get going Nak-" you were cut off with she reached up and placed her hand under your chin. She gently nudged your face back around to hers, and kept her firm grip. "I'm having a hard time believing you broke your spear without using it in battle."
"Um Shuri got it wrong I lost it" You lied.
Okoye let out a sigh of exasperation. "I saw the icepack on the floor y/n. Tell me what really happened on the mission. Did you do something reckless again?"
Indeed you had after realizing the convoy was going to getaway, and the window of opportunity to get the tracker on one of the cars was closing. You acted out of desperation rushing ahead of the convoy to rig the path that they were taking with explosives. The only problem you didn't realize how much damage they were going to do. The first two armored trucks in the front didn't stand a chance, and were launched into the air by the blast. One went over the cliff while the other landed upside on the ground. The rest of the trucks and cars pulled over readying their guns.
You hid in the shadows of the trees picking them off with your throwing knives at first. Until one of them found your location, and then you went out into the open. It was when you were locked into hand-to-hand combat with one of the gunman. Both of of you miscalculated how close to the edge the fight had gone, and one misstep sent both of you over the edge. You and him rolled over each other until. At the end you gained the upper hand and pinned him underneath you, so it took the burnt of the impact for both of you. But the tumble had took a huge toll on your body as well.
"It was nothing my love I'm fine." You said determined to not come clean. This was the first mission Okoye had trusted you to go on alone in six months. Because of the reckless streak in you that always resulted in you coming back with major injuries, or even on death's door sometimes. You promised her you would be careful and walk away if things got to dangerous.
Her hand attempted to go to your banged up ribs again, but your grip went from tight to iron. "If you're so fine then why won't you let me touch your left side?" She asked with an arched eyebrow.
"I'm ticklish" You replied with a shrug.
"So you're telling me your right side isn't ticklish." There was a look of mischief in her eyes that matched her tone. If you were going to make it this hard for her to get a confession out of you. Then she was willing to play dirty, and you were in fact very ticklish.
"Okoye wait" You said in a pleading voice hands scrambling for hers. In one swift move the General had caught both of your wrists in one of her hands, and pinned them above your head. Okoye rested her free hand on your right side not tickling you yet. You knew with your ribs being so injured that laughing right now wouldn't feel too good. You had lost.
"I went over a cliff while fighting the mercenaries" You blurted out.
Okoye released your hands letting them drop back to your side. One of them moving to cover your left side. "Now why was that so hard?"
"I didn't want to worry about me, or confine to bed rest for like the next month" You admitted.
"Oh my love" she caught your lips in a soft kiss then pressed her forehead to yours. "I'm confining you to bed rest for the next two months."
You let out a groan ready to protest but a finger on your lips made you pause. Okoye pulled away to make a call with her kimoyo. It vibrated for a few seconds before Shuri appeared before both of y'all. She took one quick look at the stern expression on the General's face and turned to you. "I told you lying wouldn't work."
"Next time come up with something better than a broken vibranium spear" You replied.
"I was under a lot of pressure" she argued back.
Okoye held up a hand putting an end to the argument. "Send over her injury report" she ordered. Shuri gave her nod then disappeared.
She turned back to you caressing your cheek. "y/n darling I'm not angry just disappointed. If you don't start learning to proceed with more caution. You might not come back for a mission one day. I don't know what I would do if I lose you."
A few tears escaped from her eyes as she lifted your shirt and laid eyes on your side that had turned a purplish black color. It was the most vulnerable you'd ever seen her, and it hurt your heart knowing. It was out of fear of losing you.
"I'm sorry Okoye I'll be more careful from now on I mean it this time" You told her leaning forward to press a quick kiss to her forehead.
"That's all I ask my love."
Albedo
Alone.
These days you found yourself alone in your shared home. It had been nearly a year since the two of you decided to live together. Maybe that was a bad idea.
You were smitten. He was such an intelligent man, and truth be told you loved how his mind worked. He was silent and mostly kept to himself at first, but with you, there were subtle touches, fleeting kisses. Oh and his eyes, the way his eyes brightened or the way his lips turned up at the sight of you. The way he held you close at nights, up until the morning.
Gone were those days.
He was hardly home. The intelligent man you had fallen in love with, was also a workaholic. Perhaps you should’ve seen it coming. There were so many signs.
Maybe he changed. Maybe you changed. But the little things weren’t enough anymore. He came home just to sleep and wake up, and he was off again.
“Bedo, have you got some time off on the weekend? We haven’t been up to Starsnatch Cliff in a while,” you had prodded him a few days ago, wondering if the problem would be solved if you made the first move.
“Sorry, Y/N, we’re just about to discover more about the properties of electro crystals... It’ll be useful if we want to sustain higher energy concentrations on...” and just like that he had gone off a tangent explaining the whole thing. You smiled a little, it was still endearing how excited he got discussing those things.
But you couldn’t help but be lonely at how he seemed to love his research more than you.
‘Maybe I just need to be more proactive. That’s it! I’ll go and visit him at the lab today!’ Surprising him was one of the things that you had always wanted to do. But not a lot of things got past Albedo. He was observant like that. You made a quick run to the bakery, getting him some croissants and welcomed yourself into the Favonius Headquarters.
You looked up at the sign on his laboratory door. That sign was always there though, Klee had told you about it, and Sucrose had also talked about it once or twice before, telling you that it wouldn’t be a good idea to go in if the sign was up. But when was it ever down? So, you shrugged, and pushed the door open with a wide smile.
“What are you doing here?!” There’s a wild look in Albedo’s eyes the moment you step in. He didn’t appreciate being disturbed. You tilted your head a little at his reaction, you weren’t expecting that.
“Oh, since you’ve been so busy these days I just thought I’d drop by and give you something to--”
“Y/N, did you not see the sign on the door? No disturbances, even from you,”
“I’ll just be quick, I’m just dropping this off,” you lift the paper bag from the bakery and lay it down on the nearest table. Albedo closes his eyes with a sigh.
“...We’re working on something dangerous right now, I don’t have time to eat. Please take it back,”
Surprisingly, you obey quite quickly, and take the paper bag back into your hands. Annoyance start to pulse in your veins. “Anything else you want me to do? Maybe disappear so I don’t bother you or your research so much?”
Sucrose had been standing there the whole time, and you can see the slight wince on her face at your cold statement... But Albedo had returned it ten fold, snapping an answer back. “Yes, Y/N, that would be excellent, don’t get in the way. Stop being irritating at the wrong moment,”
You didn’t expect how much it would sting. Your shoulders slump downwards at the realization that this... had gone too far. You couldn’t take it anymore. Sucrose opens her mouth, but doesn’t know what to say looking back and forth between you and Albedo.
The Kreideprinz had continued with his task as if nothing had happened at all, but he knew what he said. He didn’t want any interferences nor accidents happening in the lab and that was the only thing he cared about at the moment.
Your foot moves to step back, but your eyes are glued to Albedo. You can only see his back. His hair tied up neatly, the shoulders that you loved to wrap your arms around and his hands that were always gentle. You took a good look, drinking the whole scene in like you hadn’t had a drop of water in days.
This was the last time you would lay eyes on him and it broke you into so many pieces. You turned away without another word, Sucrose staring at the door, before she decided that she needed to follow you. “I-I’ll be back, Master Albedo,” she rarely ever abandoned an experiment, but she knew that you needed a friend right now.
Ironic, because it should have been Albedo running after you, but instead the green-haired girl caught up to you just as you reached the fountain in the middle of Mondstadt. “Y/N!” she jogs, and stops when you do as you hear your name.
Tears prickled your cheeks, but they were more of frustration than sadness. You stand there for a moment, drying your tears and turning around towards Sucrose, gaze on the pavement. “Y/N...” Sucrose approaches carefully, hand resting on your shoulder.
“...I don’t know anything other than Albedo, Sucrose,” you start, a curtain of memories flashing through your mind. “...Without him, there isn’t much reason for me to stay in Mondstadt,” Sucrose shakes her head rather hastily. “H-He’s just... a little occupied right now, Y/N, I’m sure he doesn’t mean what he said,” You close your eyes, the scene repeating in your head.
“Anything else you want me to do? Maybe disappear so I don’t bother you or your research so much?”
“Yes, Y/N, that would be excellent, don’t get in the way. Stop being irritating at the wrong moment,”
A hard lump forms on your throat at how hard you try not to sob. How hard you try to keep yourself together and Sucrose sees it from the way your lips tremble. “Sucrose, please watch over him,” and that is also the last that Sucrose sees of you.
That night, Albedo arrives home exhausted, just as he always does. But now that he was home, he could at least expect a warm meal and a warm hug. A soft smile tugs on his lips at the thought.
When he turned the lights on, he was met with a strange stillness instead. His hand stays on the switch as his eyes scan the living room. It was...quiet. There were no plates on the table, and there were no sounds from the kitchen.
Deep in the pits of his stomach there’s an anxiety that starts bubbling up. He brushes it off, opting instead to check the kitchen. “Y/N?”
Empty.
His footsteps hasten as he opens the bedroom door, expecting you to be curled up there, asleep.
Empty.
Albedo takes in a shaky breath. You were probably just out in town, doing some late night shopping. Yeah, that’s it, perhaps you just didn’t have enough ingredients for dinner today and--his eyes land on the bedside table.
The photo frame is gone. The photo of the two of you standing side by side together with comfortable smiles on your faces, his hand on your waist, and the house on the background.
He throws open the closet doors. Your clothes are gone. Your shoes are gone. Even your scent seemed to have disappeared. The anxiety that was once a small bubble in his stomach had started to claw it’s way out, wrenching his heart in places that he didn’t know could hurt. The tears pooling in his eyes were so foreign that he didn’t even know what was happening until he hears himself gasp back a sob.
You’re gone.
Suddenly it was so hard to breathe, but he pulls himself up and out the door. There’s no way. Where would you go? Perhaps you were just around Mondstadt, trying to get a breath of fresh air to calm your nerves. He searches everywhere. The church, the tavern, the Good Hunter and even atop the rooftop of the Favonius Headquarters. There was a decent view of the city there, and his eyes roam the streets, just to get a glimpse of you.
“...Please...” There’s another lump in his throat, his eyes dart around looking for any small sign of you.
“Albedo? Tired?” you ask as he returns home one day. He merely lets out a small “Mm,” and pulls a chair out from the dining table to sit on. You walk into the kitchen to fetch him a cup of tea, and he snatches your hand to press a soft kiss on the back of it. “Thank you, love,”
“...Please!” his grip on the stone walls of the rooftop tighten. His vision blurs.
“Al! Don’t do that!” you try to swat his hand away from the pot, a short laugh coming off of your lips at how mischievous he could be sometimes, trying to dip his finger into the sauce. He has a grin on his face as he successfully tastes the sauce off his finger, making a sound of approval as he draws you in for a light kiss on your forehead, “It’s good, as always,”
His legs buckle, and he finds himself on his knees, hands fisted upon the cold stone wall. “At least tell me where you've gone! I can’t--” he doesn’t know when the last time he cried was, but whenever it was, he doesn’t remember it to be this bad. The pain was unlike any injury he had, it grasped so tightly at his heart.
“Anything else you want me to do? Maybe disappear so I don’t bother you or your research so much?”
“Yes, Y/N, that would be excellent, don’t get in the way. Stop being irritating at the wrong moment,”
He furiously shakes his head because he knows that it was his fault. “I didn’t mean it, please give them back,” as if there was someone else who took you away. As if there was a God listening to him right now.
He realizes that the worst of it was not that you had left, but that you had left no traces of you behind. No photo. Not a piece of clothing. Not a trace of your existence.
Nothing for him to hold on to.
That night, he dragged himself back home. Face flushed and hot from the tears he had shed and the ones he was attempting to hold back.
That night, he painfully got into bed.
Alone.
