In the case of capsaicin being connected to burning spice, would it be worse or better for him to know beforehand? Considering how much capsaicin cares about the things he accidentally destroys, finding out you're literally connected to the embodiment of destruction would be really scary.

And if he knew beforehand then he would always have this lingering shadow over his life, Knowing that he was originally destined to destroy just like his father.

I also like to think burning space will respect any decision as long as you're willing to fight to your last breath for it... Unless maybe you're his kin, then it might be more personal to him.

I’m wondering about that myself for this au, part of me wants him to know and part of me doesn’t. For now I’m leaning toward the idea that his memories of Spice are repressed.

He starts out not knowing, but some trigger (perhaps Spice waking up) begins to bring back memories he can only vaguely make out? Destruction that extends beyond what he had chained himself for, things that are harder to understand and things that seem so alien that he can’t tell if it’s a dream. But he always looks the same in his reflections, so too is the foreboding figure with the mane of black hair. But surely these are just recurring nightmares, right?

Likely he learns of his connection with Spice earlier than later on though, I like the idea that this au is Capsaicin grappling with his identity as Spice’s child rather than him piecing together that he is. Maybe Capsaicin firmly believes he’s one thing, but suddenly realizing so much of his previous life was hidden from him by himself might make him tempt whatever path Spice wants to push him down, in his own way at least. What more does he need to atone for? What if what Kouign-Amann and Prune Juice say about not needing to dwell on his past isn’t enough for him?

But he’s not going to follow in his father’s footsteps. But does his father know him better than he knows himself?

Basically Capsaicin remembering he’s the child of Destruction opens a rabbit hole of questions

What’s up with how the dunmeshi fandom just lies about this kind of stuff all the time. It is easily confirmable information that it was a monthly series, something incredibly common in the industry.

A not weekly magazine schedule is literally common !! Especially in the seinen shoujo and josei demographics, sometimes monthly, sometimes biweekly, sometimes every two months, sometimes seasonal! Please stop lying about how Dunmeshi was some special unique creation that defies all standards of manga just to hype it up because it is so clear that every single one of these comparisons is centered around Weekly Shonen Jump (and understand that SJ has many magazines under its brand that are monthly or semimonthly). Not everything is WSJ and it needs to stop being the only point of reference in conversations like this 🤧
