I stumbled my way through some pseudo-milestone social and personal stuff today and you know what? it was incredibly nice and a good experience and I'm proud of myself, actually. needless to say my nervous system in the immediate aftermath is also humming at at a pitch that could break glass and kill dolphins, and I feel faintly like three day old sunkissed roadkill, but sometimes you just have to tank that shit because that seems to happen whether what's going on is good or bad lmao

transplanted all my pepper plants to the raised bed so they're in direct sunlight and have more room to grow. the varieties i'm growing are hungarian hot wax, tabasco, sweet peppers, and cili padi/birds eye chili 🌶️🌶️🌶️
#cili padi uses are self explanatory if u know malaysian food#the hungarian and sweet peppers i want to stuff or chop up to use in western cooking#tabasco it depends how hot they grow but id like to try to make my own hot sauce i think that would be fun#if not ill make some salsa with them

#spent 5h reading ppls tarot it was so nice and chill i could take my time since iwas paid by the event…#A lot of ppl came by of every age i had like a young boy of 12 who wss really sweet to a 65 yo auntie who was worried about her health#and i had a lot of really serious and important readings that u could tell ppl really needed to hear….. almost evrry person told me at the#end how spot on it was and how good and relieved they were to hear certain things….#also in tje end me and the other readers went to get a drink and i was just following the flow of the crowd but evidently#they were out With A Plan bc we ended up moving to a seoncdary location with some ppl who i thought were just some bar owners#but ended up being the organizers of the entire event skxkskdkddk who also organize snother really big event in this city#And have contacts in like the cinema and tv world even abroad and know everyone in town here etcetc#and i fully didn’t realize who they were but one of them askd me for a reading and i was like bet (it was 1am and wed been reading out in#the cold since 6:30pm) and apparently i was soo good that everyone at that table was impressed and they called the big boss over#and he wanted a reading too even though hed been sceptic. and he grew slowly impressed by it and was really nice to me the whole time but#esp by the end like i could tell hed grown imoressed by me. and also both the organizer dudes i read for were SO hot like holy shit. daddyy#anyway im tipsy on nice wine other people paid for me but what i was trying to say is. It was so fun to read for all those people and i#hope all tje kids and aunties i read for are ok and leave their bad relationships and get into good ones and take care of their health etc.#and i hope the salt and pepper daddy who organizes this whole event puts me on in the future and/or raws me at some point thankssss#ive been such a good honest and generous boy i think i deserve a treat any treat. 😇

I was craving some Marilyn Monroe and decided to watch 'Some like it hot!' and am now wondering if the first half of the Lackadaisy pilot was based off of that movies opening-
Like, both of them feature a car chase where the ones being chased have a big box full of liquor that gets shot and starts leaking, they start shooting back at their pursuers through the rear windscreen and eventually manage to break down the chasers vehicle to get away!
Like??? I guess it could be a huge coincidence but idk this feels like an intentional reference. Which I am totally on board with I fucking love finding references between different pieces of media.

Opinions on Spicy Food?
I can't keep up with my partner, but I do enjoy spicy foods.
I'm more for flavor over heat, but I like habanero sauce on my eggs, and Pix makes jalapeno grilled cheese sammiches, and then puts like Ghost Pepper Carolina Reaper death ash on theirs.
I'm not that strong XD I do really like wasabi, and there's this place around here that makes a curry shrimp that has like just enough heat to clean out my sinuses about halfway through the serving. I'm usually finishing it up crying about how good it hurts. T-T It's so tasty though.
But I like salty foods, and sweet foods, and savory, and -- Oh spicy pickles are good. There's like firecracker carrot pickles, I like those. I have eaten myself sick on a good collection of pickles. Okra pickles are fantastic, but yeah. Pickled carrots are the best thing ever.
Second only maybe to like double dark chocolate truffles. Or Germy's fist-sized cookies.

god digging through my archive for pictures of my mom's garden, i've been reminded of my 2020 bumper crop of habanero and ghost peppers. this year it's looking slightly like there may be a repeat of that...... i've got five habaneros and three ghosts and a thai hot planted in my raised bed and good lord the heat last week kicked them right off
#and i still have so much hot sauce left from last year#i was planning on doing less or skipping a year and now i'm like#uh oh!!#i'm definitely doing ghost at least i have some ghosts from last year and i may have enough for a good batch#my ghost pepper hot sauce from 2020 scared people though rip

gotta be one of my best "theres nothing to eat at home" meals by far
#this fancy black bean pasta i bought months ago opened used one portion of and forgot about#olive oil bunch + red pepper flakes + 3 cloves of chopped garlic + the merlot bellavitamo cheese thats been sitting in the fridge since#christmas#and steamed peas from the freezer god knows how long#everything but the peas and pasta getting friendly in a bowl while the former cooks#then when pastas done and drained put it back in pan with some more olive oil let peas and pasta mingle and get hot#combine bon apetit#AND the whole things got like 50+ grams of protein with only ~20g net carbs!#certified keto if ur into that#NOT LOW FAT theres probably 1/4 olive oil in here all in all plus nice sized chunk of cheese yum 😋#the pasta is fancy its 40some g protein per serving plus 18g fiber#beans!

So the previous roommates having rocks for brains has worked out in my favor as I sift through the items they didn't bother to take with them
#scoring some really nice reusable chopsticks! they're black with red tips#i have a reusable set from. my hot topic miku ramen bowl. but having more is a plus for sure#someone's little pink bento box? that's basically what it is and i like it; a very bright lantern style flashlight that flashbanged me#what seems to be a food processor and what may be a panini press once i take it off the top of the fridge to examine it#i'm not mentioning the foods i found deep in the cupboards that expired back in 2022. that's for another day#catch me googling how long pepper is good for#there's a cooler that got left behind! potentially two of them; i'm not totally sure if the second box is a cooler#also figuring if i use the dishwasher fast enough then the roaches can't get to the plates and i don't have to keep washing by hand#actually got enough stuff wiped down that i feel okay putting the silverware and pots and pans away; the shelves with the plates#and glasses are next; under the sink also has to get cleaned out and i am not looking forward to that#fascinating... you really live like this?#was doing dishes while listening to holst's planetes symphony and had a supreme bug moment as well. all is well in this world.#shai speaks

I managed to force my executives to function enough to buy groceries for TWO different fresh meals (cooking is incredibly difficult for my brain and so my mom does most of the grocery shopping while I buy frozen meals for work breakfast/lunches) AND had enough spoons (barely) to make dinner! Behold! Soup which I made and dumplings which were frozen. Barring the red pepper flakes incident (twisted the top off to shake but it was a pop top with the shaker holes in the lid so I dumped SO much in and had to skim off what I could) it was a success! I am absolutely done for the day though.
#i was planning on doing some soup recipes in november when it finally got cold#but then my brother died right at the beginning of the month and the whole month went by in a haze#so today i did soup and i bought stuff for some hot sticky lemon pepper skewers later#with plans for roasted sweet potatos and maybe a fancy baked onion dish for sides#or roasted brussel sprouts#i love the IDEA of cooking it's just A Lot for my brain to shop for all the stuff and then have enough spoons to make it#i need a man who likes cooking to do it with me so it's fun instead of overwhelming

my gong bao peppers arent turning red so i picked one and took a righteous bite cause i was worried they wouldnt be spicy yet. anyway i just spent four minutes coughing and my lips are numb

the vast majority of our ~food waste~ at work goes to a food bank, and what they don't have room for / can't take for whatever reason, the staff on the evening shift then get to pick from and take home for free, which is a rly great system!!
..but i've done 2 lates in a row now, and i have so much free food it's like Help! when are we gonna eat all this 😭
#yday i got.. cheesy hot cross buns / a fruit trifle / some spicy fishcakes / some veggie chicken kievs + some fancy sausages#and 2nite i got a spicy vegetarian pizza / cheese cobs / lemon buns / mixed peppers + some posh new potatoes!!#we had the hot cross buns and the trifle 2day and we're gonna have the cobs / lemon buns + pizza and potatoes 2moro..#everything else was either freezable or it'll keep a few days so it's fine and nothing's gonna be wasted#but it's still like Woah! #curious on peoples opinions on this#because like im a pretty cautious person so i used to be a bit wary around spice (although id still eat it just normally not add a lot)#but now i love it i put hot sauce and whatnot on everything (even if the hot sauce isnt the strongest)#like im eating potato salad with hot pepper flakes (dried fatali my dad grew) right now#so its like i have pretty decent spice tolerance especially for a white person#but some of that may come from growing up in a family that likes spicy food#like my dad grows hot peppers as a hobby and went to a sauce making party and his friends house every year when i was younger#anyways im just in a spicy food mood im gonna make some toast so i can put hot sauce on it#blah
