Literally haven’t posted in what feels like forever but I’ve been mumbling Arcane theories and symbolisms nonsensically in the corner of a private discord server since it came out and I haven’t seen ANYBODY talk about which I doubt is the case because I only noticed this because it was super apparent by the second watch

Okay, so, in the end scene of season 1, the show made sure to SPECIFICALLY show that the bomb was aimed directly at Mel’s back— realistically speaking, there was a literally no way she was going to survive that hit, especially looking at the damage (most) everyone else had— and yet she didn’t even get a scratch, and neither did Jayce, which Jayce himself states clearly.

Every other character in that room was HEAVILY damaged, and yet the people who should have been some of the most hurt weren’t? Again, it doesn’t make sense when you think realistically/logically.

Yet, I noticed, at the very beginning of the episode, we see Mel and Jayce wrapped around one another; everything is dark, a lot of the light from outside covered by ash and debris, and yet Mel’s golden accessories glow— and I’m talking GLOW glow, not just a reflection, like I thought it was the first time. In fact, you can see literal rays coming off of it as Jayce begins to get up (ignore that the picture’s taken from my phone, my Netflix was being weird)

Anyways, long story short, I highly suspect that that gold somehow kept her, and in addition, Jayce (since she was clinging to him physically), from being injured at all. If this is the case, it’ll obviously be mentioned later (… probably), and I’m really intrigued by what it’ll spark relationship wise.

We already know that Jayce is more than upset about the fact that he left that situation unharmed and Viktor wound up… well, Y’know. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was, understandably, equally (if not more) upset to know that the reason he came out unharmed was because Mel grabbed onto him, not Viktor (which honestly makes sense for Mel considering she appears more connected with Jayce than Viktor for obvious reasons).

I’m also curious as to what the origins of this gold might be, if this theory of mine really is the case. I’m not sure how it would be connected to magic like the Hexcore and wild hex are, or if it would even make sense in this world’s programming for it to be magical, but eh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (god I love that emoticon)

Anyways don’t mind me blubbering this nonsense out loud here cause I’m way too into Arcane right now and will go insane if I don’t talk about it somewhere

Edit: now that I’ve posted this I’ve seen this idea literally everywhere and then DEEPER explored upon in ways I couldn’t so uhhhhhhh pretend this post is mind blowing and not one among dozens okay

Baby Reindeer is just such an incredible piece of art like I adore good storytelling but there is nothing I love more than music and how it can enhance and shape any experience it’s a part of and the way the soundtrack of that show is so perfectly put together to make the viewer feel exactly what Richard Gadd wanted the viewer to feel is so unique and impressive I’ve never seen any sort of made-for-screen content get it that right before

the other week i saw a bunch of tweets about how ridiculous it was to wait 2 years for 8 episodes or something—i think they may been about bridgerton—and i was like

You’re the only person I would ever have made that promise to, because I trust you, and you turned around and spat in my face and circumvented the law for the matter of eight hours. Is that what I mean to you, Henry? Just an eight hour headstart?”

Henry withered under the glare of her flashlight, but movement from Abe made her flinch. She illuminated him instead, and was surprised at the anger in his eyes.

“That’s what I mean to him,” Abe said intensely, hunting for her past the glare of the light. “Eight extra hours that I get to spend with him before he either runs away or gets captured by some government goon. That’s what Mom means to him; eight extra hours to spend figuring out what happened to her in her final hours—what happened to her that she was left to rot out here all alone, in this cold, quiet forest, miles away from anyone who loved her. For his own good he should be gone by now, because the NYPD apparently has it on a damn tape, but instead he’s devoting eight extra hours to the woman he married, the woman who raised me, the woman who never deserved this disrespectful, insulting unmarked grave by the side of some God-forsaken road in the middle of nowhere. I love ya, Jo, you’ve got a good head on your shoulders, and funny enough I was actually kind of thinking you and my pops would go along together pretty well, but this is not about you. It’s about us. It’s about our family. And until you start understanding and respecting and accepting what Henry’s told you, I don’t want you anywhere near that.”

been really interesting to see my dash so vehemently divided on the atla live action lol it’s literally back to back posts of one person absolutely tearing it apart and then another one crying actual tears of joy and laughter bc they’re having so much fun with it

I love Object Mayhem. I watched it as a kid and it was the first show I rewatched when I got back into object shows around 2016. I hope to draw fan art sometime but for now I’ll just say random things cuz it’s one of my fave shows!!!

- I don’t care about the reboots I’m sorry. I DO like that the new characters they added were somewhat pre-existing characters tho.

- I miss when they would do the silly faces with the eyes

- Mailbox and Toast were the GOATs and it’s ASTOUNDING that they were the two most voted and only had a one vote difference. L Object Mayhem Voters.

- My other faves were Jigsaw, Ice Cream, Cupcake, Burrito, Notebook, and of course Gun

- Tune is overrated I’m sorry. I don’t hate him. But the fact that 90% of mentions of the show is Tune is just ridiculous. All he did was have a cool voice 😭 nah cuz I think he was an alright character just not in my faves. Headphones was the one good thing, him mind controlling Tune was cool and the fact that he was just being unnecessarily evil made it funnier, especially when he won the “best behaved on the field trip” challenge.

- Mailbox and Calculator were 100% gay. The bias Calculator had towards Mailbox was INSANE. Also, Mailbox appearing is one of my favorite scenes it’s just so funny. My sister says Calculator just imagined his dream guy and that’s how Mailbox appeared.

- I miss Toast and Ice Cream’s awful friendship. Toast you will always be the best annoying character

- Jiiiigsaaawww. I know why no one liiikes youuu. It’s because you smell like brussel sproutsss

Bojack Horseman deserved better
