based on this song:
youtube
you and ellie were the best of friends. you both loved each other very much and it showed in public.
ellie was in love with you though. she of course never exactly had the balls to tell you because you were so pretty. she didn't wanna ruin this wonderful friendship you guys had.
in these circumstances, it was hard to make friends her age, granted she was basically an adult now and so were you, it was still hard being lesbian and making female friends and struggling not to fall for them.
that's what happened between her and dina, they were really close friends and ellie fell for her. but now there kinda distant from each other because now dina is with jesse.
there's nothing wrong with that, she was still friends with them, it just wasn't the same like it used to be.
but now she found you and she just wanted you to be her's so badly. it haunted ellie at night. it got to the point joel noticed and would tease ellie about it everyday.
"stop starin' ellie, it's creepy." joel would say as ellie stared at you from across the room while you were sitting on couch.
it was movie night and you, ellie and joel always watched movies together. Tonight you invited dina.
"how can i sit here and not stare joel? How can she sit there and laugh and look so beautiful?" ellie says admiring your figure laughing with dina.
"well I understand that, she's a beautiful girl but c'mon, you know what happened between and dina" he says to ellie with a look.
"yea well joel i can assure you, that won't happen again, can we go watch the movie you old man?" ellie says with a smirk on her face before kicking off the wall and heading towards the couch.
"hey guys, whatcha talking about?" ellie announces her presence. Dina looks at her and smile and you smile at her as well jumping up to give her a hug.
"Hi els! we were just talking about our guesses on how the movies gonna end." you say giggling before letting her go and grabbing her hand to sit down.
"Yea, she thinks its gonna end happily but I think it's gonna end badly." dina says smiling at ellie.
"yea well, I don't know how it's gonna end but i'm guessing it'll prolly have idk maybe a double ending where it's both good and bad." ellie says with a shrug.
"that was no help at all ellie." dina says with a smirk on her face. "It's ok els, we'll see." you say laying a reassuring hand on her thigh.
ellies face turns a bit red and she smiles at you before rubbing her neck.
she had to admit she was very smitten about you. she loved how you were so oblivious and so cute. she adored your love for nature and your fascination with chasing things.
it was adorable.
'joel! hurry up! we wanna watch the movie!" dina calls out
"yea you old man, get out here!" ellie follows up
"please be safe and don't trip and break a hip please joel." you say lastly making ellie and dina laugh.
"what!? i'm genuinely concerned for joel!" you say with a pout on your face. ellie smiles and apologizes glancing down at your lips.
she turns away from you and looks at the figure appearing next to her, it's joel.
"alright girls, yall can shut up now. I'm pressing play." He says laughing.
the movie begins and it's going good, you guys are halfway through the movie when there's knocking on the door.
joel groans and the girls whine. joel pauses the movie and gets up and opens the door and sees tommy and jesse.
"what is it tommy?" joel asks clearly frustrated and annoyed. "well I need you for some help in the stables and jesse needs dina for something, I have no clue why though."
"alright, we'll be out in a sec." he says huffing out a puff of air.
"dina, jesse needs you, don't know why, els imma be gone for a little bit, i'll be back, pick up dina then we'll finish the movie, kay?" he announces.
you pout and ellie rolls her eyes, clearly frustrated. 'alright joel, bye see you later." ellie calls out.
"bye joel." you call out to him. he smiles, winks at ellie and waves his hand. 'bye girls." he says.
"by dina." you say,
"bye d." ellie says.
"bye guys." she says with a smile before running out the house and closing the door.
you both hear a click which is clearly joel locking the door before you both look at each other and smile.
"so whaddya wanna do?" ellie asks with a tight lipped smile as she pats her thighs.
"I don't know, can we go to your room, your bed is much more comfortable then this couch." you say with a smile.
"ok, yea no let's go." ellie says getting up and leading you to her room even though you already knew the way.
you guys finally make it to her room and ellie asks as she opens the door, "what now?" she says walking towards her bed.
"THIS!" you yell out jumping on her back and making ellie fall on to her bed. you giggle as you straddle ellie from behind.
ellie tries to get you off before reaching behind and using her fingers to tickle you.
you laugh out loud and fall off her. she climbs on top of you you both start tugging at each others arms and tickling each other.
SMUT INCOMING!!
ellies leg though found a way between yours and every time you moved, your cunt was brushed with the roughness of her jeans and the thinness of your shorts.
every time her leg brushes against your clit you whimper but try your best to cover it up with a giggle, but there was this one time that her leg brushed your now soaked cunt and you moaned her name.
"e-ellie, fuck." you moan out. ellie immediately stops in her tracks. she looks at you with wide eyes.
"w-what did you say?" ellie questions, clearly confused.
"ellie your leg has been brushing against my pussy for the longest and it feels really good, i tried my best to conceal my noises but it felt way too good." you confess.
"please els, please help me. I need it, i need you." you beg her as you paw at her clothes to remove them.
she bites her lip and mutters out a "fuck" before removing her shirt and her sports bra, she starts unbuckling her jeans and gets off of you.
"fuck, take your pants off." she say breathlessly as she stares at your breasts. she climbs back on top of you once your pants and panties are removed.
she puts one leg on top and over you and lines her pussy up with yours. she starts experimenting by slowly moving her hips rubbing her clit against yours.
you let out a long moan and grip onto her leg. "fuck els, yea r-right there." you whimper out.
she moans too, "fuck yea, your pussy feels so good, fuck" ellie moans.
her pace gets faster and your desperate thrusts and movements are indicating that your close. "your close huh? you gonna cum, cum for me." ellie says grabbing your breast and rubbing and squeezing your nipples.
you cry out feeling your release coming closer and closer. you squeeze your eyes shut and moan out ellie's name loudly. she curses before her hips twitch as do yours as you both cum at the same time.
"fuck baby, c'mere wanna try something." ellie whispers to you. you scoot closer to her and ellie lays down on her stomach.
she lines her face up with your cunt and experiments with her tongue. she licks a stripe up your cunt and you mewl.
"oh ellie!" you whine out, the feeling of her tongue in the place you need her most feels amazing.
"you taste so good babe." she moans into your cunt. the vibrations of her moans course through you making your hips jolt at the friction.
what surprises you is when she adds a finger inside you, you cry out at the feeling of the strecth.
"oh fucking hell els!" you grip her hair tighter and she groans into your cunt. she's having the time of her life going ham on your pussy.
she adds a second finger eliciting the same reaction out of you that you had the first time.
she slides her other hand down to her pussy and slips to fingers in moaning into your cunt loudly.
ellie felt euphoric, not only pleasing you but also pleasing herself. ellie got pleasure out of watching you squirm and writhe around as she ate you out.
"f-fuck." she mumbles as she feels her high approaching. she chases it while still finding the rhythm to please you.
she cums at hearing you cry out her name. she's breathing just as heavily now as you are. she removes her fingers from her cunt and grabs your plush thighs to finish you off.
"you gonna cum again for me love?" she asks sucking on your clit as she feels your walls tightening and your hips spasming.
"ellie! oh ff-fuckk!" you cry out as you squirt all over ellie, her tongue lapping up your juices.
you pull her face closer to your cunt as you ride out your high, the feeling of euphoria taking over you as you cum.
ellie removes her fingers before locking eyes with you. she sucks her fingers clean making you whine at how hot it was.
"l-lemme help you." you say batting your big pretty doe puppy eyes at her as you offer to help get her off.
"it's fine love, I'm good." she says as she gets up off the bed. "lemme clean you up yea?"
she goes into the bathroom and grabs a rag, wets it with warm water as it was very cold in jackson lately.
she wipes your cunt and you sigh in relief feeling warm water on your bare skin.
she rinses it again and wipes your body down from your breasts down to your thighs.
she then cleans herself off before laying down in the bed with you. she pulls the blankets over both of you and snuggles up with you.
"you wanna shirt of mine or no? so you know... y-your not cold?" she asks.
"yea that would be nice els, thank you." you say. you watch as she walks over to the drawer and grabs to shirts out, a black one and a green one.
she tosses you the green one and she puts on the black one. she grabs a pair of underwear for herself and you and you guys get dressed.
once you guys are finished you guys lay back down and cuddle up.
"this may sound crazy to say but, I think i'm in love with you." ellie admits.
"you think?" you question. "no n-no, fuck. no I know I love you. I've been in love with you for a long time." ellie says tracing circles on your thigh.
"i'm in love with you too ellie!" you say smiling at her. "I thought I was being kinda obvious with the way I acted around you."
ellie chuckles and kisses you for the first time tonight. it's long and it's passionate and it has nothing but love in it.
with her eyes still closed she smiles. "will you do me the honor in making me the happiest girl in the world and be my girlfriend?" ellie asks.
you smile and shower her face with kisses before answering. "YES! YES! YES!" you say excitingly.
you hug her and you both lay there together eventually falling asleep in each others arms.

MHA boys reaction to finding out after the final war that their s/o became wheelchair bound and became a teacher after the war ended.
~Izuku Midoriya~
When Izuku first learns that his s/o was badly injured in the war and can no longer walk, he would be absolutely devastated. Seeing the person he loves in so much pain, and knowing they sacrificed their mobility fighting alongside him, would tear him apart with grief and guilt. He'd likely break down crying and apologizing profusely for not protecting them.
But once the initial shock passes, Izuku's compassionate and supportive nature would quickly take over. He would do everything in his power to be there for his s/o during their recovery and adaptation to life in a wheelchair. Izuku would constantly encourage them, telling them how incredible and heroic they are for all they've done. He'd be endlessly patient, helping them with daily tasks and pushing their wheelchair without complaint.
At the same time, Izuku would make sure not to coddle or pity his s/o. He knows how strong and capable they are. So while he offers help, he'd also give them space to figure things out and maintain their independence as much as possible. Izuku would cheer on every milestone as they learn to navigate the world in new ways.
I imagine Izuku being so proud when his s/o takes a job teaching at UA. Using their skills and experience to help train the next generation of heroes is an amazing way for them to continue making a difference, wheelchair or no wheelchair. Izuku would brag about them to everyone. On tough days, he'd remind them what an inspiration they are to their students.
Overall, this tragedy would only make Izuku love and admire his s/o more. He'd stand by their side unconditionally, being the steadfast pillar of support they can always count on. They would grow even closer through this challenge. To Izuku, his s/o will always be his hero, no matter what.
~Katsuki Bakugo~
Initially, Bakugo is filled with rage and guilt. He's furious at the villains who hurt his s/o so badly, and furious at himself for not being able to protect them. He may lash out or seem angry at first, but it's masking his devastation and self-blame.
Once the initial shock and anger fades, Bakugo becomes fiercely protective and supportive of his s/o. He's determined to be there for them no matter what as they adjust to their new circumstances. He helps them with physical therapy, getting their home accessibility upgraded, and anything else they need without complaint.
Bakugo is secretly very proud that his s/o has taken on a teaching role at UA to help train the next generation of heroes. He knows they have a wealth of experience and wisdom to share. But he grumbles that the "damn kids better not give you any trouble or they'll have to answer to me."
When his s/o has hard days and gets frustrated with their physical limitations, Bakugo is quick to remind them that they're still every bit the incredible hero and person they've always been. "You think a little thing like a wheelchair makes you any less amazing? Don't be a damn idiot."
Bakugo makes it clear to everyone that NOTHING about his love and respect for his partner has changed. He shuts down any pitying looks or comments immediately. His s/o is still the badass he fell in love with and he won't let anyone imply otherwise.
On the anniversary of the day his s/o was injured, Bakugo is always extra attentive, planning special things to show how glad he is to still have them by his side. He knows things could have turned out much worse and he'll never take their presence for granted.
Overall, in the end, he loves them for who they are no matter what.
~Shoto Todoroki~
When Shoto first learns what happened to his partner, he feels a mix of deep concern, sadness, and anger that they were so badly injured. Even years later, remembering the moment he found out still brings back those painful emotions. He wishes more than anything he could have protected them.
At the same time, Shoto is incredibly proud of his S/O's bravery, sacrifice and strength. They put their life on the line as a hero, just like he did. And now they are channeling that same heroic spirit into inspiring and guiding the next generation at UA. Shoto has endless respect and admiration for them.
Shoto makes sure to be there to physically and emotionally support his partner as much as possible, especially early on as they adjust to using a wheelchair. He helps make their home fully accessible. If his S/O is self-conscious about the wheelchair, Shoto reassures them that it doesn't change how he feels at all - he loves them unconditionally and their chair is a symbol of their courage.
When he visits them at work, Shoto loves seeing his S/O in their element - skillfully navigating the school grounds and classrooms, captivating the students with their hard-earned wisdom and experience. The students look up to them immensely. Shoto teases that they're everyone's favorite teacher.
In private moments, Shoto makes sure his partner knows how much he cherishes them. The war took a heavy toll on them both physically and mentally. But supporting each other and building a life together has brought hope and light back after so much darkness.
Overall, his S/O inspires Shoto to be a better hero and person every day.

I'm not the first person to bring this up but, I do feel that the general response to the gun range scene has mostly failed to acknowledge the context that would call for such extreme levels of self-defense training in the first place. We know from episode 23 that even just a few years after the release of the doodler (when Lark and Sparrow themselves are still just teens) things are already pretty bad (to the extent that in Lark's case the stress of it all has already begun to take a physical toll on him- don't forget that he and Sparrow too were once kids who had the world placed on their shoulders), and one need only look at how quickly the situation with the mayor has degraded to imagine how bad things would have gotten by the time Hero was 12. Training your six-year-old to use a gun in a normal or at least mostly normal world? Batshit crazy. Training your six-year-old to use a gun in a world overrun by an eldritch horror where danger, death, and the possibility of corruption from said eldritch horror are around every corner? Still intense but, much easier to understand the reasoning behind.
oh oops it's a long post woops woops woops
In Sparrow's case in particular, we know that he behaves quite differently under alternative circumstances, and that Normal (Hero too for that matter) lives a pretty different life in a post code purple world:
Not that it hasn't been Sparrow's intent and priority to mitigate the extent to which Normal was caught up in everything from the get-go, as evidenced by his namesake. Recall what he had to say on the matter:
In some ways this extreme self-defense training is a "two sides of the same coin" sort of deal vis-a-vis Grant's extreme isolation of Lincoln for his protection, a major difference being that Lincoln still deals with this in a post code purple world (to the extent that he literally had to pretend to starve himself to get his dad to let him go to public school), whereas Normal and Hero get the chance to live mostly normal lives and do as they please (the disapproving words of a drunken and partially-doodlerized Sparrow aside), now removed from the immediate threat of the doodler.
Hero's case is, at least from what we currently know about the prophecy, more complicated than Norm's. It is easy to reprimand Lark and Sparrow as being the worst parents (and/or uncles) whilst forgetting that their circumstances are fundamentally different from the other kiddads. The first half of this lying in their shared responsibility (and guilt) in releasing the doodler. Grant and Nicky can retreat to their respective homes on the basis that this is the best they can do, resolving to put their energy into protecting their closest ones first and foremost. At the end of the day, they aren't really any more responsible for dealing with the doodler than any other bystander. The same cannot be said of Lark and Sparrow, who can't exactly look away from the fact that they were the ones who brought the doodler into the world. At least from their perspectives- of course Lark (and Sparrow by extension) in reality was a child that was manipulated into doing what he did, which as some people have pointed out is not dissimilar to what happened to Normal at the end of this episode (and if Sparrow felt the need to rid Normal of his memories of this event in particular, perhaps it was to spare his child from feeling guilty about it for the rest of his life).
The second half of what differentiates them is, of course, the prophecy (right- now we can actually get to Hero lol). We must remember that, as far as the twins knew, the only way to actually "defeat" the doodler permanently was through the chosen one, i.e. Hero (probably- after last episode I'm starting to think that Norm may be more directly involved in the prophecy than previously thought, but that's a tangent). "Continue to let the being you released into the world kill and torture millions (very likely billions) of people, which could wind up including both of your children, or put your ill-fated child through very intense and ultimately traumatizing training to put an end to it, potentially losing her in the process", is essentially the choice the twins were given. Hero isn't made to kill a deer with her bare hands for the hell of it, she goes through what she does because Lark (who likely did not see the same thing that Normal did on the throne- or at the very least interpreted things very differently) and Sparrow had no reason to believe that there was any other possibility. This certainly does not negate or undermine the extent to which Hero was deeply traumatized by it all, but it's not exactly a detail that you can choose to ignore when discussing the ethics of Lark and Sparrow's decision-making.
And yet, despite it all, Sparrow and Lark do ultimately chose saving their children over saving the world. Not before significant damage has already been done (to Hero that is), but they do decide to go through with the one plan that allows both of their children to (hopefully) live a doodler-free life: code purple. Code purple, which ultimately reduces to a trolley problem with a presumably near-equal number of people on both tracks, with the important difference of sparing their own children in one case, and likely not the other. And if we want to talk about Henry's ethical stance in the matter and how it compares to the twins, we need to consider what it says about him if he was *not* in favor of code purple, with all of this in mind. Not to come to any hasty conclusions about Henry either- I think there remains too many unknowns on that front to assume much and... Ultimately it's a complicated matter! But that's kind of my point.
Even post code purple, Lark and Sparrow (and the rest of the kiddads) try to pursue that which they believe (or at least hope) will both put an end to the doodler without involving their children and without the enactment of the prophecy. Is blowing up an entire world with the sun to save all the others a plan I'm gonna sit here and defend? I don't think so lol, but you can't exactly look at it and pretend that Lark and Sparrow don't care about protecting their fucking kids.
My point isn't that Lark and Sparrow haven't made a lot of mistakes and questionable decisions, my point is that their circumstances are so much less black and white than the majority of the takes I see on them make them out to be, and a lot of the conclusions I see people jump to when it comes to the twins' feelings and intentions strike me as... Pretty odd? Tangentially-related: if you don't think Sparrow is someone who is affectionate with and deeply loves his kids despite his flaws, I don't really think we're listening to the same podcast. But even in Lark's case, yes he's more subtle about it and yes, Lark can be quick to anger (not that I personally read him yelling in the last episode as anger so much as panic but all the same), but affection can be sewing bulletproof material into your nephew's mascot costume, or secretly taking him out for pizza, or pretending to be his dad so that you can tell him you're proud of him, or putting your gun down when he asks you to. The twins are anything but perfect but, fuck if they aren't trying (and changing, and improving). And yes, they deserve some damn nuance.
Also, okay, I couldn't really find a neat way to bring this up in the above but, speaking of no-nuance and bad faith takes, can we talk about the locks? Or lack thereof, rather. "How could they be so stupid as to leave the door unlocked?" you're right, that does seem odd, and Anthony made a point to explain that every other door was very thoroughly locked, and Normal seemed to have practically been moved into opening the door against his own will so... Hear me out, maybe, just maybe, the door usually *is* locked??? And something fishy or unusual is afoot? I also wouldn't take their immediate, knee-jerk reactions to a dangerous flesh monster being released to come to any conclusions on whether or not Lark and Sparrow "blame" six-year-old Normal for it. In Sparrow's case, I struggle to even imagine it. In Lark's case, though I wouldn't put him above getting angry over it, my doubts on his deeper feelings are still high. Conversely, if he actually did place some of the blame on Normal, at the very least there is an interesting discussion to be had on how this relates to Lark's own guilt over what Willy manipulated him into doing, and subsequently being denied the catharsis of punishment. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Like I said, a lot of important things are yet unknown.
*breathes* okay end of overdue ramble [insert proper conclusion paragraph here lol], thank you.
#dndads#dungeons and daddies#boy. yeah always an ordeal discussing matters related to Hero. Easy to attract misunderstanding- I think. Again it is. A Complicated Affair#but well- had to share my two cents otherwise it surely woulda bugged me lots#hopefully this all makes sense enough I know I kinda went a bunch of different places as usual :0#sparrow oak#lark oak#hero oak swallows garcia#normal oak swallows garcia#normal oak#lark oak garcia#sparrow oak garcia#dndads s2 ep 47#baba babbles

On Tommy and Eddie's Will
Speculation of the week is that Tommy will find out Buck was named as Christopher's guardian in Eddie's will and that's going to be the crux of the problems between them.
There's no evidence for this speculation at all, but let's indulge for a moment.
Tommy knew coming into the relationship how important Eddie and Chris are to Buck. Maybe he doesn't know the specifics of the will, but I don't think he'd be surprised by it.
Even if Tommy finds out about it now, why would he care? That was an arrangement Eddie made long before Tommy was in the picture that has nothing to do with him.
But what if Tommy doesn't want kids?
We don't know that Tommy doesn't want kids. We don't even know that Buck DOES. Neither of them has ever expressed an opinion one way or another, and since they can't get pregnant by accident, it probably won't come up until much later in the relationship.
But even if it is the case that Tommy doesn't want kids...Buck doesn't have kids. I know people say he's coparenting with Eddie, but he's really not? He is at best a regular babysitter. At this moment, Chris has no bearing on Buck's relationship with Tommy.
The will, as of now, is a break-glass-in-case-of-emergency thing. It means that IF something were to happen to Eddie, Buck would be named as Chris's legal guardian. That's a hypothetical scenario that is, admittedly, more likely to happen to Eddie than the average person, but it has not happened yet. (And even if it does, Buck will likely go through years of court in a nasty custody battle with Eddie's parents, which is a whole other can of worms and fodder for a good angst fic if anyone wants to write it.)
And even knowing that hypothetical, I don't think Tommy would walk away. First off, it's hypothetical and ending a relationship over something that may or may not happen would be really immature and silly. Second off, that's a very different scenario than the traditional "should we have kids" situation.
Chris is fourteen years old. Granted, due to disability, he's going to have high support needs and will likely stay with his family most of his life, but he's still only a few years away from being an adult. And Tommy knows and clearly cares about Chris a lot; there's no reason to think he'd have an issue with Chris remaining in his life even if there's no Eddie along with him.
Second off, there's a big difference between "I don't want to go through all the difficulties of obtaining and raising a child" and "I don't want to look after my best friend's teenage son after a (presumably) horrific tragedy." We've seen in the show how difficult having a child is for LGBT couples via Hen and Karen! It would be completely understandable for Tommy to look at all the trouble and heartache they went through and decide he can't handle it.
And third off, if a situation arose that would place Christopher in Buck's custody, Tommy would be able to decide at that point when it's actually a reality if he wants to be a part of that. He may decide no, he can't be a father under any circumstance, even one like this, and walk away. He might decide actually yes, he does want to be involved, and there's a difference between a baby or young child he has to help mold and the nearly-grown teenager he already cares about.
Point is, Tommy and Buck's relationship does not and should not center on Eddie. Yes, Eddie is important to both of them, but whatever problems they face should be about their relationship, not a what-if scenario. (And lbr, unless Ryan Guzman really, REALLY wants off the show, the writers aren't going to kill him off. And after seven seasons of Hen and Karen dealing with the trials and tribulations of adoptive children, I really doubt the writers would repeat themselves by having Buck and Tommy go through it as well.)

MAJOR MHA SPOILERS
Thinking about how..... Aoyama's parents didn’t really love him that much even if it might've seemed like they did....
They got him a quirk from AfO because they wanted a "normal" child, and probably rationalised it to themselves as "we're willing to do immoral things to ensure our child gets the best life possible, this is all out of love!" But really, it was about appearances, not love. If they had truly loved Aoyama, they wouldn't have given him a Quirk which would essentially indebt him to a criminal for the rest of his life. They weren't considering Aoyama's future or identity or feelings beyond a shallow level of "we want our child to fit in in class". It's a very insidious type of lack of love and care, because it doesn't stem from malice, but from weakness and fear of conflict.
I've met a few parents like this in real life. They aren't emotionally resilient and never learnt to deal with their issues, so the moment there is a problem, they take the most immediate action that will balm their emotions stemming from the problem even when it causes bigger problems later down the line. And will then insist that they were doing it for the betterment of everyone because they can’t grow beyond their flawed thinking.
If they really loved Aoyama, there were so many opportunities for them to avoid the situation they ended up being put in. They could have been gently honest with him from a young age about where his Quirk came from and why he wouldn’t be suited to join the ranks of heroes because of it, and encouraged him to explore his other interests and ways of helping people. Instead, they were too weak to have that conversation with him and instead allowed him to go down the path of heroism, which led to SO MANY PEOPLE being hurt. They put Aoyama in a situation where he had to DIRECTLY CONTRIBUTE TO HIS FRIENDS BEING INJURED because of their own selfishness. They allowed the worst outcome to happen because they didn't take ANY of the opportunities presented to them during Aoyama's development to guide him down a different path, because they are, fundamentally, cowardly people who take the path of least resistance and conflict even if it causes huge problems later down the line. And Aoyama DOESNT DESERVE THAT!!! He's not a coward!! He held up under horrific circumstances, the threat of his parents' death constantly hanging over him on one side and the immense guilt at hurting his friends on the other, and he STILL found time to look out for Midoriya in the middle of it all.
And there's the scene in his flashback when he's explaining how he got his Quirk.... in the scene, a young Aoyama, having just been granted a Quirk, is running to his family with happy tears in his eyes while they cry for joy. But this makes me wonder.... how was their attitude towards Aoyama BEFORE this scene, then? While they were not abusive per say, the scene really gives the sense that Aoyama's parents did not consider him "complete" until he had a Quirk. It's like they were so happy because they had finally "fixed" him.
So what was that like for young Aoyama? Growing up feeling like you are inherently flawed and incomplete and in some way a disappointment by dint of the simple fact that you are you? (This is also ties back to the gay experience + Aoyama being very overtly queer-coded ect but that's a talk for another day)
And now, Aoyama has left UA and all the friends he made, and is going back to his parents... stuck with the people who have put him through an unimaginable trauma, which he most likely will never be able to talk to anyone else about. He'll probably never grow close to the students at his new school, because the guilt will eat away at him. And the only people who share his experience are his parents, who ALLOWED THAT EXPERIENCE TO HAPPEN BECAUSE FUNDAMENTALLY THEY DO NOT LOVE HIM.
I just hope that Class 1-A stays friends with him :(
(Ps. I'm not a mha blog so don't follow for more analysis like this! I don't usually write stuff like this! Was just thinking thoughts about my favourite underrated character!)

How do you think the chain would react to finding out the reader is very touch starved and they refuse to initiate any kind of contact unless necessary?
Masterlist
Sure can do! It'll be in headcanon form. I hope you don't mind.
Content under the cut!
Warrior
Warrior is going to probably be the one to mention to the others that they need to ask and respect it if they get rejected
Warrior is also tempted to put hand son shoulders and ruffle hair but he’s a lot better at repressing it than some of the other boys
It’s not something he’s going to question if he learns it
Reader just gets treated like a soldier from then on
Sure Warrior will still be calm and collected and not at all use his commander voice
But he’s going to keep his hands to himself
Perfectly cordial as he smothers down any brotherly instincts
Again- he’s not cold even if it’s easy to get that impression with how much he’s been keeping his distance
But he’s still 100% willing to throw hands with anyone who makes them upset
Or throw hands with anyone who tries to get into their personal space without their permission
Is he projecting his personal guard training?
Maybe?
Warrior is always going to ask first when he needs to touch them
Or maybe just tell them where he’s noticed something so they can handle it on their own
In reality he doesn’t know what to do r how to handle the situation but he’s going to try his best
Twilight
I think Twilight would be very torn about it
He’s not as big on touch as some of the other guys but he’s first instinct when he’s comforting a person it to touch them
It’s instinctual to him so he’s not always aware of it
At the same time he wants to have them feel comfortable around them
He’s not fully aware of what being touched starved is
As a concept he can understand it, but he’s grown up in a very warm and loving place where hugs and hand holding were common place
Even if it was just a pat on the back of a hand on the shoulder
So naturally Twilight copies that in his day to day interactions with the people he cares about
He may need to be reminded on more than one occasion if Reader wants him to back off
He’ll do his best to not take it to heart
But it’ll hurt him on the inside to think that anyone would not be deprived of it for so long but then also deny it until circumstances say otherwise
It’s not something he can fully comprehend
But he’s willing to work with Reader in that case
He’s aware that it’s not something someone would just talk about and everyone has different paths that they’ve taken in life
He’d struggle in the beginning and slowly work his way toward a middle ground for the two of them
But it’s going to make some work on Reader’s part as well
Legend
Legend is probably going to be the last person learns this
He’s also touch starved but he’s not going to go out of his way to touch people
He probably doesn’t realize it until it was one of those ride or die moments
That being said, I think he would notice that they would shy away from touch no matter who it came from
Which is no biggie
It doesn’t faze him- just “alright, cool, no touchy, got it”
And then he just never asks questions
So he doesn’t know why for a really long time
Legend isn’t going to judge or bat an eye about it and even then when he learns about it eventually he’ll shrug it off
“Alright dude, good to know, let me know if I cross any lines”
End of discussion
He will, however, also be their greatest defender
Somebody standing too close? He pushes them away
Somebody reaches out? He blocks them
If anyone so much as looks like they’re going to try something Legend is going to put himself in the middle of it
I can guarantee it
Time
Another one in the don’t touch me club
Don’t get me wrong he’s still ok with physical touch
But he’s very selective in who gets to touch him and who he can touch on a casual basis
Family is typical- and he’s adopted all the boys so that’s fine
Strangers? Nope
Friends? Hard maybe. It would depend on the situation
Granted, he’s doesn’t really let people know that he doesn’t want to be touched
He’s so done with everything and anything life can throw at him that he’s going to take it in stride and ignore it the best that he can
When he notices Reader is in a similar boat to him he’s going to single them out when they’re alone
It’s nothing bad, don’t worry
But he’s going to ask what’s up just so he has a better idea of what’s going on
No one likes to hear from someone who’s got the wrong idea
He’ll be tactful with it and try to gauge information without going into anything too personal
Then he’ll gives tips and some pointer to let others know to keep their distance without making a scene or hurting their feelings
Basically it’s a “Welcome to the club. Here’s your badge and here’s how to let people know you have with without showing it to them.”
That kind of fatherly pep talk moment
Effectiveness depends on Reader on at point
Wild
The worst of them hands down
His hands are on every one so much and he doesn’t even know it
He is the dude to koala people in his sleep
Wild is very clingy by nature and there’s very little that can stop him once the ball is rolling
That being said- he will stop cold turkey once mentioned
But he’s going to be curious
Did he do something wrong?
Was it something he said?
Was he in trouble?
Oh, it’s nothing personal? Then rock on my guy. That’s fair. My bad.
Hands to himself now
Mostly
He’s trying really hard to be cool with it and not make Reader uncomfortable
But I’m going to lie and say that he’s on top of it 100% of the time and that he nails every interaction
As much as he would like that to be the case- it isn’t
Please be patient with him. He wants to learn to be better
Four
Alright. Cool with him
Won’t engage in contact
Will keep a wide berth to pop the personal space bubble
Does not question it
He’d probably think about it though- even if he smothers those thought down
It’s none of his business anyway
Besides he’s not shy of cutting people off from getting into stuff they don’t need to know- how can he just assume it doesn’t apply to him?
New flash- it does and he lives by it
A huge advocate of taking accountability for your own actions
So if he sees someone not being called out for bad behavior or unwanted advances, then he’ll gladly do it instead
Some boys are quiet protectors and will watch from behind Reader to see how they handle the situation
Four is not
It’s admittedly his greatest strength and his biggest weakness
He’s quick to jump to conclusions unfortunately so Reader might (read: will) talk to him about it
He means well on all sides
But it’s not something he’s accustomed to handle on his own
It either goes well or badly- there is no in between
Hyrule
HO BOY DOES HE STRUGGLE
One of his main love languages is physical touch and it doesn’t take long for anyone to figure that out
His hands are on someone almost at all times and is going to extend to Reader more often than not
He’s not the worst of the group but he’s right on his heels
Because it’s so natural to him he might not notice a flinch or pulling away
It honestly depends non what has his attention and how violent it might have been
That being said- he seems the kind of guy to ask to work with it
Work towards desensitizing so that there won’t be a problem in the future
Because he would like to hug them or just have a hand on Reader’s shoulder without being rejected time and time again
At this point it’s going to be up to Reader to decide where they go with it
They can meet Hyrule halfway and so on and so forth
Or they can keep refusing him in the end (But this option is the Break Hyrule’s Heart Option- so do with that what you will)
If Reader is adamant to keep Hyrule at an arm’s length then he’ll have to accept it but he might also pull away emotionally as well
It’s harder to connect to a person you’re forcing yourself to stay away from
If Reader agrees with slowly being ok with touch, Hyrule is going to have to work on dialing it way back
He’s willing to do that, but that’s still a decent amount of work on his part
Sky
Another guy who’s very casual with touching so he may need to be reminded more than once
However he’s very perceptive in this regard
One flinch or a subtle pull away and he pulls back like nothing ever happened
It’ll so natural no one would think that he saw anything
He won’t ask questions, he won’t pry, he won’t even think too much about it
He just takes a mental note of it and moves on with his day
He’ll find other way to show that he cares about Reader that doesn’t include touching
If there’s a moment where he’s going to touch Reader, he’d want to announce it to them first and give them ample tie to react the way they want to
Instead of letting initial reactions put anyone off
It’s in the air if Reader notices that Sky has put two and two together
A lot of people think that Sky is a bit oblivious that’s not true and it couldn’t be farther from the truth
His mind can be like a steel trap if he focuses and considers it serious enough
His personality throws people off sometimes because of it
Sky is going to watch how Reader interacts with the other guys and with people outside of their group
He puts together that it’s nothing personal very quickly because of this
That being said, he’s may not be as forward in blocking unwanted attention like some of the other boys, but he’s on the look out regardless
Wind
Has no idea what that means
Will ask all sorts of questions
Handles it very maturely
Better than half the group if I have to be honest
It’s almost like actually talking to someone and having decent communication can lead to better results in the long run
Always asking if something is ok to do
Will ask if Reader is ok with being around a lot of people and will warn them if need be
You know, like going into cramped market places and such- where bumping shoulders is almost unavoidable
He offers to act as a buffer if Reader would want him to be or to even stay behind if Reader would rather avoid it entirely
It doesn’t always work out that way but Wind knows lots of ways to distract people from the worst of it
If anything he’s great at being live bait- even if it’s for the things unseen
Has the tendency to be a bit too excited though- he can’t help it being a 13-year- old boy
So if he grabs Reader without warning or taps them without thinking about it, Reader might have to reel him back again
He’ll apologize but he’s definitely better than a few boys in the group
Won’t bother is looking out Reader otherwise though
Jury’s out if it’s just because he thinks that Reader can handle themself or if it’s because it’s just on entirely on his radar yet
But both is a probability as well
#linked universe#linkeduniverse#linked universe x reader#lu x reader#did i understand the assignment?#maybe?#admittedly I don't much#and I didn't ask#so my apologies if this is entirely the *wrong* way to go about it#but frankly- I don't want to post these guys being 100% all the time

I try my best not to bring up political issues here, considering that it is a topic that can quickly escalate and it's not this blog's focus. However, I excepcionally feel the need to address this issue today given the circumstances in which we live in our present time.
Since I gained the right to vote, I strongly believe that the next European elections on June 9th are the most important ever. It's not just about funds. It is, above all, the safety of all of us, millions of people spread across the old continent. To affirm and continue to defend human rights that so many people gave their lives and fought for. That we can be who we are. To be sovereign.
I'm worried about the unconsciousness of some people who do not intend to spare even 15 minutes to go to a polling station and vote even though they know the chaos the world is in. Knowing that hatred, discrimination, violence and misinformation increasingly divide society and that a certain ideology that I thought would never return to the surface is once again gaining strength and lurking for the best opportunity to achieve power. We must look to History as lessons so as not to repeat mistakes made in the past in the future. Freedom cannot be taken for granted.
So I'll be very straightforward:
There were so many people who fought for democracy and the right to vote and I think it's disrespectful towards our ancestors (reinforcement: women) and towards younger generations (and future ones) who don't intend to vote because they think it doesn't make a difference. It does.
Or they won't vote because they won't be in their area of residence (and it's not for work reasons). At least on my country's case this time it is possible to vote anywhere in the national territory thanks to the digital system that will be applied to the electorate's books.
Or because "it's annoying". Voting only takes 15 minutes, not 15 hours of your day.
Please be civil and go vote this Sunday if you're a EU citizen with legal age to vote. Voting is an act of citizenship. Don't let others decide your future and your rights for you. Think about your siblings, children, grandchildren, partners, everyone you have in your life and care about. There are no excuses.
THERE. ARE. NO. EXCUSES.
#Europe#eu elections#citizenship#This was an exceptional post folks#I promise next time it's drawings#Just please go to vote this Sunday if you're a EU citizen and are in a legal age for voting#democracy

Digi Dynamic Shipping Game
Send me two names among the following 12 and I’ll write a short analysis post about them:
Taichi Yagami | Yamato Ishida | Sora Takenouchi | Koushirou Izumi | Mimi Tachikawa | Jyou Kidou | Takeru Takaishi | Hikari Yagami | Daisuke Motomiya | Miyako Inoue | Iori Hida | Ken Ichijouji
Whether canon provides input on them or not.
Unfortunately I didn't make it before the end of Pride Month, but - while there are a lot of potentially queer ships in the subtext of the Digimon universe that fit the tone, there aren't as many of them that came this close to technically being confirmed as having a valid (canon) baseline as this one.
To ask if canon provides input on Daisuke and Ken - or Daiken, Kensuke, Daisuken, however you want to call them -, is, once again, like asking if water is wet; they're the most elaborated relationship in the entirety of Digimon Adventure 02, the majority of Ken's development is tied to his bond to Daisuke... If you want to read more about why I value their relationship so much, I definitely recommend this post here, because they're just... Endlessly fascinating to me.
The good-hearted goofball with self-esteem issues that lead him to play a role to impress others initially - meets a corrupted genius and literally slaps the darkness out of his system. They turn from fated rivals to fated partners, facing the powers of darkness together and eventually, they become better people in the process thanks to one another. Daisuke's entire priority system changes upon wanting to give Ken a chance, he not only becomes more honest and less defensive, but also lets his personal sense of courage and friendship shine through; Ken, who's initially reluctant to take the hand Daisuke is offering him due to all the guilt he feels, slowly but steadily becomes the kind and gentle soul that was always within him, because there is someone by his side who has his back. Always.
It's a beautiful story of two complementing souls, whose bond enables the first real Jogress evolution, despite the fact - or even because - they couldn't be any more different. It's a story of repentance, forgiveness, learning to befriend others despite your own trauma and differences - and the story of a romantic subtext that almost hits you in the face if you're not careful enough. There is a reason why the screenshot above exists - the most recent movie literally acknowledged that, even after all these years, the bond between Daiken has not vanished and has, instead, gained a somewhat (actively) flirtatious nuance. While it used to be Ken who blushed due to Daisuke's (oftentimes oblivious) bluntness, the same Ken is now forward enough to openly praise Daisuke in ways that make it impossible to overlook the potential implications here - well, for anybody who isn't Daisuke himself at least...
Whether I think why and how they’d work.
Given the circumstances that we're, unfortunately, not talking about a canonically confirmed ship, we just gotta pretend that there will be a day when Ken's attempts of asking Daisuke out will be answered in two potential ways: 1.) "Huh? YOU WERE FLIRTING WITH ME THE ENTIRE TIME????" or 2.) "Huh? I thought we were together this entire time anyway???" Because both of these would be somewhat plausible "Daisuk-esque" reactions in my opinion.
I thoroughly believe that these two would work out romantically in fantastic ways - even though it'd take a lot of work, but which relationship that intends to last doesn't? They both chose careers that require enormous amounts of time and energy - and very irregular working hours. Granted, the latter applies to the majority of the Chosen Children, but an aspiring chef of his own Ramen cart may only be able to see an aspiring police officer if the latter's break time allows him to grab a meal at a Ramen facility that is coincidentally very close by... Gate hopping may have made that a lot easier, but at this point, we don't even know if that is still a thing anymore.
I still maintain that, as much as they'd be married to their jobs, they both still have quite a romantic side to themselves once the curse is broken - so they would make time, just like they did throughout all these years. While their interests in general might also be quite different, they would always find a way to bond over their mutual love for sports, football in particular. Ken needs someone who pulls him out of his head - and Daisuke needs someone who grounds him, which, as The Beginning suggested, is (basically) exactly their dynamic. They always enjoy group gatherings with their friend groups, food tastings are always a reason for Daisuke to invite everybody over - especially to lure Ken away from work. And let's be real, I can also see them go on cheesy dates - that mostly consist of them doing sporting activities (any kind of ball sport, rollerskating, hiking) where Daisuke can (pretend to) be competitive and Ken knowingly plays along with the teasing, just so they have an excuse to be close. Because they'd be cheesy like that, oh Lord, they'd be so cheesy in the most wanna-be-bro way possible.
Whether I’d prefer them as platonic or romantic ship.
In a universe in which Miyaken doesn't become canon, there is literally no reason for Daiken not to be endgame - unless the writers actually had some guts and turned them into an official OT3 in The Beginning. Of course I can always enjoys them as just platonic life partners, bros 4 life, you don't even have to give it a label, as long as they remain as close as they are. Because they simply belong together, one way or another.

How the hell does Derrick have so much authority over Penelope? Something I never understood was how it was possible that Derrick, being only the eldest brother, could grant harsh punishments such as feeding his younger sister bread and water or restricting her mobility, without even consulting his father, the Duke. Clearly they have given me more power than a simple brother should have in my opinion, I am an only child so I don't know much about sibling dynamics, but it seems strange to me that Derrick has more influence in Penelope's life than her own father at the point. That when she is arrested, he is the one who goes to visit her. Don't you think that in a situation like this the legal guardian should go?
what is an elder brother if not a second absent father? From the start Derrick seemed to me more like an abusive guardian than an elder brother. His actions towards Penelope were never those of a brother towards a sister. Their relationship was not sibling like. In a similar manner I don't view Reynold and Derrick's relationship as very brotherly. It might have been different once. Before Ivonne disappeared. He helped Reynold and Ivonne sneak out to visit the festival, didn't he? Disobeying his father, that doesn't sound like something the Derrick we know would do. But something in Derrick must have changed after he lost his little sister and made him crave control.
Their relationship would be more comparable to a guardian and ward. I hesitate to call it parentification, because Derrick absolutely did not meet the emotional needs of Reynold and Penelope (he probably barely interacted with Penelope) but I do think he took to some degree care of Reynold in a way their father failed them. I believe he had to grow up too early and that his childhood was cut short given the fact that he had to be prepared to become the next head of the Eckart duchy and their father had likely fallen into a depression after experiencing the loss of his most treasured child. Perhaps Derrick wanted to share his father's burden and offered to take on some of his tasks. Such tasks may have also included looking after the children that the duke was neglecting over his grief at Ivonne's disappearance. Making sure Reynold doesn't stray away from the right path and gets in trouble, being in charge of punishments for minor offenses that he considers too unimportant to bother his father about, ironing out his mistakes, overseeing his education, budgeting etc. You can see where I'm going with this: Derrrick was a person of authority in Reynold's life (hc). And I think that's how he became easily a person of authority in Penelope's life as well. If Derrick did his role so well with Reynold then this could explain why the Duke entrusted him with Penelope. Though I suspect that most often the Duke had no idea what kind of punishments Derrick was handing out to Penelope. I can imagine that at the start Derrick was asking his father for permission for every little thing that eventually the Duke just handed a share of his power over to Derrick. And when he noticed that Derrick acted independently he found that it had a positive impact on their family interests, which caused him to have a little bit too much trust in Derrick's judgement without checking.
Unusual circumstances forced Derrick into the role of the little Duke to support his father and unconsciously everyone around him started to get used to it. Derrick gaining more power over his siblings than he should have wasn't seen as something weird, because he was a precocius child and already preparing to follow into his father's footsteps as the next Duke anyway. Everyone else was so busy searching for Ivonne or offering their condolences, they had forgotten completely that they still had two other children in the house which were in need of parental care.
In my opinion part of the reason had to do with their father's mental state and inability to act as a guardian, part was Derrick's overqualification in certain fields that made people trust him to take on tasks that they would not have given other kids his age typically, part was that his status as the Eckart heir lifted him above his siblings and he would enjoy certain privileges that were connected to serious responsibilities in the future that neither of his siblings would have to fullfill. I think Penelope's gender also played a major role given that they were living in a patriarchy where the domination of women through their male relatives and spouses was normalized. The story is set in a historically western inspired world but the author herself is Korean. It is possible that some Confucian ideas of filial piety still made it into the text.
Lastly there was the underlying idea that Penelope had to prove herself worthy of the Eckart name. If Derrick's treatment of her was that of a master to his servant or a noble to a commoner instead of a brother to his sister or a nobleman to a noblewoman then it was condoned because no one viewed Penelope as an Eckart except for her stepfather. The staff acted under the assumption that Penelope was living there temporary and would be thrown away once the true lady had returned. Even if some of them had objections they were in no position to voice them. Only very few would intervene in other people's family affairs.
As for why Derrick went to visit Penelope in prison instead of his father: plot related reasons. Love interests are generally given more screentime than side characters such as parents. Penelope's situation also wouldn't have looked that bleak if instead of her brother her father had come. Unlike Derrick the Duke would have shown that he cared. Besides the scene of Penelope trapped behind bars was important, it was meant to parallel the bird in the cage that Derrick gifted her and would serve as a hint that Derrick's desire for Penelope was dark and possessive.
I can also imagine that their father was doing paperwork, looking for a good lawyer or meeting with influencial people and trying to negotiate better conditions for Penelope in the meantime.

Do you believe Aemond is a Valyrian Supremacist? He models Daemon so much in his focus on Valyrian history, dragons, Targaryen blood etc, that to me I feel as though he must to some extent believe Targaryen's to be superior? I see alot of people defending him on the basis he isn't, but... I just don't see why Aemond of all characters wouldn't have feelings of superiority based on his blood? Extending from that, do you think he would have preferred to wed a Targaryen woman? We get a glimpse he feels that way from the TV show, but in the circumstances he had another sister instead of Helaena, surely he would have been betrothed to her/wanted to be? I just truly cannot see him as being free of "bigotry" in regards to seeing non- Valyrians as below him. Like? Isn't that the point of him hating Rhaneyra's sons? Because they are bastards from a lower House?
This is a really great ask, anon. Thank you for asking me. But of course, you asked me, so it’s no surprise that I will give a very me answer.
First, I really dislike having that phrase Valyrian Supremacist on my blog. I only have it one other time that I can remember and that was also an ask. Briefly, I’ll tell you why: it is a 20th-21st century Earth term that may not have been present in Westeros. If we are discussing in-universe theory and not literary/film theory then I choose to avoid it.
This may get long but I want to be as clear as possible: I only slightly agree with you. If we grant the premise, that he models parts of his personality after Daemon (which is a difficulty premise to grant in its entirety), then I would say that his Targaryen side would value that heritage to a degree. However, he cares deeply for his entire family and that includes the Hightowers. His last name is Targaryen, but let’s not forget he is also a Hightower. I think great houses/names are very important to royalty in Westeros, Aemond included. Hightowers are certainly not lowborn.
Trying to go in the same order as your questions, I would say next that all descendants of Valyria may feel superior because of history and dragon lore. I can never overlook House Velaryon in these discussions. They also have immense pride in their heritage and name. However, when you say “Aemond of all characters” I wonder exactly why he stands out as someone for whom this pride seems more important. If we examine his actions in season one and in the book, I think we can see that his character is no more or less concerned with it than the average character.
If he were more concerned with Targaryen blood and that pride fueled his decisions, what would that say about Alys Rivers? I think most fans who haven’t read the book know a little about her, but for those who don’t she was a bastard Aemond took as a “war bride.” Regardless of whether or not she bewitched him, we can’t talk about his life as a whole without mentioning her and their relationship. If she did, we aren't told at exactly what point that happened. He wasn't above sex with non-Targaryens.
Since it was first uttered, I have been obsessed with his line “I would perform my duty, if mother had only betrothed us.” Leo Ashton delivered it with such sincerity and commitment that it is hard to argue against Aemond’s devotion to his family (not discussing any specific romantic ships here). As we know, royalty and aristocracy in Westeros get very little choice in who they wed. The hypothetical “if he had another sister” is interesting because that marriage would, ultimately, be decided by Viserys and Alicent.
Such a betrothal would have been seen as a duty and honorable, so I have no doubt that Aemond would have agreed. I don’t know that anyone would disagree that Aemond puts his family above everything else. Thus, I have yet to see in the series direct bigotry from him. Factually, with no nuance, the issue with Rhaneyra’s sons is illegitimacy. Every character may have a different interpretation as to how this effects the line of succession and only a few state it explicitly in the series. I would argue that Aemond doesn’t care that their father isn’t Laenor Velaryon when he first calls them bastards. Children at that age might not really comprehend the ramifications of that accusation (I think we see clearly that Aegon doesn’t). Aemond first dislikes his nephews because they were cruel to him. Yes, his brother was as well. The Pink Dread was seemingly almost entirely Aegon’s idea, but siblings often forgive each other more readily than they may forgive outsiders.
In Fire & Blood we get a clear picture of how much his animosity and resentment fuel his actions:
One by one, every man and boy with Strong blood in his veins was dragged forth and put to death, until the heap made of their heads stood three feet tall.
I do not think this action was about bloodlines or heritage. I believe this was entirely revenge. By this point in the Dance, Aemond is furious and nearly crazed by his need to avenge the wrongs done to his family. I don’t think it was an attempt to annihilate the Strong bloodline, but a show of force and power. Aemond is formidable, rash, and still young enough to not care about consequences. Perhaps you have noticed I skipped over the direct slight against him. Lucerys altered Aemond’s life irrevocably. Had this same mutilation happened to a low born boy, he would have had no future at all in Westeros. Aemond’s lifestyle was only salvaged because he is royalty and through determination of will.
Would the loss of an eye, the murder of one’s young nephew (Prince Jaehaerys), and the maiming of one’s brother cause a young prince to go nearly mad with rage and the need for revenge? I believe so. By this point in the Dance, further along than I think you asked about, Targaryen heritage is probably the last thing on Aemond’s mind. I have no doubt that he was raised to believe that dragons, the throne, and many other things make Targaryens better. But we should never discount his mother’s influence. This man loves her dearly and Alicent may provide some balance in his understanding of things. My headcanon about his religion (not particularly relevant here) comes from the canon that Alicent has a strong faith in the Seven. I think this has a deep effect on Aemond and could influence whether or not Targaryen blood is paramount to him.
Lastly, I wanted to address this statement:
I see a lot of people defending him on the basis he isn’t
I assume that you use “defending” in the sense that these fans attempt to separate him as somehow immune to this pride or better than other Targaryens. I don’t know that I have read exactly the defenses you’re referencing, but I will be clear: this is not a discussion of fanfiction. If that is an element of a work of fanfiction, then by all means, go for it. It doesn’t seem plausible, however, that anyone of Valyrian descent is immune to this type of indoctrination.

What makes C-137 Rick different in the eyes of Evil Morty? A simple list.
I had this drafted around when the episode came out and I hadn't finished it, sooooo here you go heh:
This is arguably a pretty obvious set of answers, I'm not making any big deep dives here or anything, but I felt curious enough in wanting to see some kind of realized list of how many ways our Rick is different from his counterparts, specifically to the eyes of Evil Morty, that's to say, within the show, what kind of interactions have made Evil Morty slowly chip away in his absolute ideas about our Rick specifically.
Contains content since season 1, but mostly Season 7 due to the amount of interactions.
Bullet point is the actual list, indented is additional, but optional, context I deemed valuable:
C-137 Crying: Obviously the first would be Evil Morty - through Evil Rick - seeing our Rick cry when seeing baby Morty, even if we don't have that explained yet, this genuine care that shocked E-M this much was only reinforced in Season 7 when Rick, just before going to hunt Rick Prime told Morty he "couldn't go", evidently so that he stays safe.
This is extra reinforced when Evil Morty and Morty Prime join Rick against our big bad, E-M throws an insult right away expecting the reason for Rick's frustration to be "they did something cool and I didn't" (a jump cut), but no, C-137 only says... "You brought Morty???"
Evil Morty is a Morty registered within the Council's data base, he's been passed around, probably adopted by various Ricks, of whom clearly view that service as a tool to reinforce their detachments. Even if there is a petty and truly emotional reason underneath the existence of such a program, the Morties in those centers only see the very worst of Rick, because that's who they are paired up with, they only see how disposable they are every single time, time and time again.
C-137's respect of Evil Morty: Right away as S7EP5 begins, and E-M joins in with our duo, he's immediately greeted with what I am willing to bet is a different kind of attitude, one of respect. Rick is not dissmisive of Evil Morty, granted he knows his capabilities, however he even compliments Evil Morty on his journey to fucking off, a life style he very much enjoys - supposedly, but still - this is reinforced the moment Evil Morty suggests the modifications to the fracking machine, one which Rick takes notice of an implements right away, no insult attached interestingly enough.
That respect is also seen after Rick connects the dots with Evil Morty being responsible for hacking his Portal gun, back in Season 5, a detail which most Rick's would've arrogantly shrugged off by underestimating Morty. I am not saying respect can't be earned from other Ricks, after all he was president, but I am focusing the basis of this on Evil Morty's absolutist mindset regarding how Ricks are meant to be.
Teamwork: Although Rick points out the same logic we as the audience and fans did in theories prior to Season 7, regarding the assumption Evil Morty would hate Rick Prime more than our Rick because he's even worse, the actual teamwork simply plays out naturally, first through circumstance, but then by convenience. Nonetheless in each step Rick is once again cooperative with Evil Morty, treating him like an equal in a way that I think we haven't really ever seen before besides Beth, and sorta Summer.
I feel it's no small detail that E-M's first instinct after grabbing the Portal guns they were quickly tinkering with to escape the box was "don't freak out", the subsequent lack of freaking out also reinforces all of the shit I'm repeating myself on haha, again list of the obvious remember?
And finally the most obvious: C-137's goals are focused on avenging his Wife, as we well know. This singular detail already places him on a different bracket of existence as Rick's aren't meant to care for anyone other that themselves, even if this goal was the reason that fueled Rick's cooperation, signs of respect and more towards Evil Morty, he still did them... That would also technically place the other trapped Ricks, like Nerd Rick or James Bond Rick, as other challengers in Evil Morty's views.
This is how Evil Morty finally showed a crack in his absolutist views about Ricks.

"You are a little different, Rick..."
Maybe I can use that someday...

Is it just me who is weirded out by the posts of “I gave Taylor grace last year in May because yeah she dated a racist but she was ill so it’s okay and I forgive her”. I believe she still thinks she did nothing wrong in that sense which is showing how much she truly hasn’t healed from
there's a lot of nuance to this conversation, and I hold all of these points true rn:
It isn't uncommon for people to get out of a serious relationship and indulge in some kind of impulsive/self destructive behavior and understanding where they come from makes it difficult to cancel said person (fwiw the canceling us a whole different conversation we can have when I'm a little less sleepy)
Taylor wouldn't be granted the same grace your average person would in this turn of events due to her celebrity status
Taylor has repeatedly been associated with problematic people and there's only so many instances you can write off as a mistake/her being unaware
Although it shouldn't be her responsibility to personify the most upright morals all the time, the whole world is watching her and she does have a massive fan base who is highly influenced by her actions
There's literally no excuse for associating with a racist person, let alone doubling down and defending that decision (either bc she misunderstood the criticism as fans trying to control who she dated or if she genuinely just doesn't care about the shit he's says publicly)
The choice to support her as a fan is complicated because the whole situation is a mess, but defending her actions against fans who are upset about valid reasons (mattys comments, That one article, etc.) is a. Questionable choice.
This isn't the first time she has associated with a problematic person. It does say something about her. This also doesn't automatically make her a racist.
She needs to understand that the fans she's responding to in songs like daddy aren't the ones who stalk her outside studios or crash her friends weddings. They were simply upset because of a very public relationship (which, even though she went through it under these circumstances, was still bad as it spoke volumes about who she might be as a person)
We don't know her personally. We never fully will. Still doesn't make it wrong to be upset that someone you care about made such choices. Also doesn't mean you automatically hate them, and wanting someone you've supported all your life to do better and be better shouldn't be such a hot take in the fandom as it is made out to be

To exorcise another thought that is distracting me, last week I got terribly annoyed at Robert Evans on the Behind the Bastards podcast describing the Bedouin people as having changed very little over the centuries save for the addition of firearms, in the context of episodes on TE Lawrence.
There are a couple of layers to this. First -- brought into sharp focus by having just finished Edward Said's Orientalism -- is that dismissing peoples as unchanging over the centuries is a useful tool of racism that should always be avoided. There are no living fossils; we all exist within the same contemporary world regardless of how we live and by and large we are not isolated from one another by any impenetrable boundaries. This is especially true of people living alongside massive empires. I don't see any malice in Evans' characterisation but it was careless in the context of talking about a situation charged by imperialism and racial hierarchies.
The second axis of irritation was treating the addition of gun as 'the only thing that changed', as if the addition of guns itself would not have effects and implications. Even setting aside that Arabic peoples have had access to firearms *for centuries*, more than long enough to adapt to and incorporate their presence at a cultural level, why the assumption that guns represent some . . . add-on, isolated from the rest and merely proximally augmenting it? That isn't how that works.
And then I realised, oh. This is probably a British vs American thing.
Let me explain: I saw a post on Tumblr at about the same time as this which was gushing over learning the misconception that staircases in castles are built to rise clockwise to give defenders an advantage drawing their swords. A little web searching easily reveals this to be nonsense. But it was one of those things I nodded along to at a glance, because I'd heard it before when I was a kid and I'd never thought to double-check (bloody Edwardians and their misinformation). That in turn is because I'm from England. Where we have -- let me be clear -- an imperial ton of castles. We're taught about them as a matter of course, partly because they're important to our history and partly because they're good school trip fodder.
And do you know what factors quite significantly in the development and ultimate end of castles as a military institution?
The development of the cannon.
Learning about the effects of introducing firearms to this country is standard. I am therefore already primed, even if I don't necessarily notice it, to think about the ripple effects of dropping guns into a culture. I just have to remember what happened here and consider similar knock-on changes in other circumstances.
Do Americans have anything like that in their history education, given their country started after firearms were already very much a thing in Europe? That is a genuine question. Are people over there taught about the development of firearms at primary school level, with the kind of concrete example that is 'this giant structure was built to deal with a completely different kind of warfare and got neutralised by the invention of bombs'? (Which is a whole separate strand, involving the origin of the phrase 'hoisted by one's own petard.')
If not -- and the assumed American poster commenting on spiral staircases is a good reminder that they don't have castles, something I take utterly for granted -- then I wonder how that affects their view of guns per se (I don't mean 'gun culture' so much as appreciating the impact of such a thing's very existence). Does the fact that guns have always existed in your culture alter the way one thinks about the *introduction* of guns elsewhere? Does me having my background knowledge make it easier to see that you can't having something 'unchanged for centuries expect for new weapons' because new weapons inevitably force a transformation of tactics? Which is true for guns as a category as much as the finer, more devastating improvements to the concept made over the years.
Hunting, defence, offence, trading, the valuing of materials and objects, all these shift with firearms, and those shifts go back seven centuries, at the least. To be clear, I know vanishingly little about Bedouin culture (something I should change if I can). I'm not levelling a counter-argument based on greater understanding. I am simply noting a factor I'd not stopped to think about before. A further nuance to 'oh you guys just don't have these' reaction to that staircase post.
Or perhaps this is entirely irrelevant and I'm just getting caught on the irony of someone making a thoughtless cultural generalisation in episodes attempting to break down flipping Lawrence of Arabia.
#more rambling#I am also writing something at the moment where the presence of a gun is a factor#and it occurred to me it's resting on those not being common#I should probably make it clear that is an in-context thing#given that a good proportion of the audience might not have my assumption that guns are a rarity in a civilian population#even among criminals

The detail that Dimitri was viewed as a folk hero when he was in his murder-hobo phase is another detail that link him to Liu Bei.
The historical records don't paint Liu Bei and the Shu Kingdom in the best light. Liu Bei, for instance, often betrayed his benefactors as he rose to power, eventually calling himself emperor and holding up the reunification of China. However, records at the time were heavily biased towards Wei, as Wei's successor Jin emerged victorious.
Yet Liu Bei and his allies were remembered as folk heroes.
The answer is simple, while Cao Cao had his good points (such as him punishing crimes committed by his own generals/officers. He's also often depicted promoting meritocracy, and was an accomplished poet. On one occasion, he forgave a rebel because the guy only rebelled against him to protect his subordinates rather than out of hatred to Cao Cao), Cao Cao was a tyrant who had a tenancy of committing massacres whenever someone upset him. It wasn't a one-off thing like Romance of the Three Kingdoms paints it as. In addition, him making the last Han emperor his puppet and ruling through him (it was his son who disposed of the emperor) is a big no-no under Confucian thought whereas Liu Bei openly declaring himself Emperor is a lot more reasonable.
The people did not like Cao Cao. There's a tomb in China speculated to be his, and the evidence seems to suggest his body was defiled around 50 years after his death iirc. And at the time, as people fled from Cao Cao Liu Bei made himself out as the main force opposing him. The underdog, champion of the people. And it's because of that people passed on stories of Shu, defying history being written by the winners, and this was taken further with Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
Guess this would make the Alliance Wu, Claude being a Sun Quan would make sense. Sun Quan would align with either Liu Bei or Cao Cao depending on the circumstances so that his region may remain independent, but over time his ambitions grew but was never able to make a go of his invasions of Hefei.
Granted, the thing is I could go either way of Edelgard being Cao Cao or her being Sima Yi, Cao Cao's strategist who founded of the Jin dynasty after turning on Cao Cao's successors. I almost think that Thales is more a Cao Cao, using Ionius as his puppet and having long overseen the Empire's decline as part of his plans. In a way, Thales has really been the one running the show from the shadows, making it more like Agartha. Edelgard turning on him after the war, seizing full power for herself and changing how succession worked would fit more with Sima Yi, but it was those changes that led to the War of the Eight Princes (namely, dividing up the Empire and giving the Princes each a piece like King Leer... which would explain the reference in the Alliance kids). It's very different from Edelgard's reforms, which consolidates power on the Emperor who can appoint anyone they want as successor.
Though the flaw in that system is pretty easy. Anyone named successor will have a target on their back for anyone wanting power. If the successor isn't publicly named ahead of time and the Emperor dies unexpectedly, than even if they left a note saying who should lead can be disputed which is what we see happen in Fodlan's history with the death of King Klaus with the note saying the throne goes to the most beloved prince by the people... which was forged by Klaus's sister to put her preferred prince on the throne.

There's also the fact that Sima Yi is presented as the rival to Kongming. As I've said before, Rhea seems to be the Kongming figure, but Edelgard was designed to be a rival for Byleth. Byleth, who is a Nabatean, spends five years asleep and then either ends up as king/queen or as an advisor to Dimitri. Zhuge Liang, or Kongming, was also known as the Sleeping Dragon and served Liu Bei.
Jin is seen as a successor state to Wei, making Edelgard’s empire the successor state to Agartha. It may figure into the devs referring to Silver Snow as the Empire route, the Empire kids taking back their home from Agartha while going against the moral decline Thales created, making Edelgard and Flower out to be the real fourth faction. They’re also going back to the roots of the Empire, the founding principles of it while aligning with the Church, like a what-if restoration of the Han(the founder of the Han dynasty, Liu Bang, is often said to have looked like a dragon and promoted the Confucian beliefs the Mandate of Heaven is based around. His reign was said to be a golden era of Chinese history, much like the Byleth/Rhea ending. Liu Bang also started out as a peasant)

Mrs Clause
JJs POV
I hated Christmas for all the reasons she loved it. Family. Gifts. Both luxuries I never knew as the means for enjoyment. And even in her attempts to make our first Christmas together festive and joyous, all I wanted was for it to be over. Decorating the tree only reminded me of how I couldn't afford the gifts she deserved to have beneath it. It was a consistent contrast in my decision to fall for a Kook. And yet, if I was entirely honest with myself, I didn't have much of a choice. Much like the circumstances we were both born into in vast contradiction, I was destined to be indebted to get sensuality as she seemed to pity me long enough to entertain the idea of a life with me. But there had been one detail I was well aware nobody prior to me had shown her and this was that I would never take her for granted.
"Are you ready?" She called from the bathroom door of her bedroom as she had been in wait for what felt like an eternity. Playing with the fringe of a pillow as gaudy as it was comfortable, my eyes lifted to find her in an unfair ensemble.
"Does THIS change your mind about Christmas?" She asked as I was far too stunned to speak. Of course, she was always stunning. From the moment she awoke to the second she'd gone to sleep, moments were stolen in silent admiration. But this was something different entierly.
"If Mrs. Clause would have looked like this when I was younger, I might have behaved more …" She pursed her lips and made the journey to stand between my thighs. My fingers were already quick to rise up her stocking clad skin as I clenched my jaw while ascending higher. The feeling of the faux fur on the edge of her costume did nothing to deter me as a thin skirt traced my knuckles.
"I prefer it when you don't …" She spoke seductively, leaning close enough to smell that pear based perfume I loved in compassion to the coconut shampoo I often ran through her hair in the baths we shared. But in this moment now, I wanted to bend, pull, and ravage her as quickly as possible.
"If you think that I'm above tearing this thing to shreds with my teeth-"
"I was actually hoping you'd just fuck me in it, JJ…it's already ruined with how wet I am just thinking of what you'd do to get it off of me." But in the attempt to test if she had been bluffing, a knock came to her bedroom door and a palm wrapped around my mouth.
"Y-yes?" She stuttered as my fingers made their way beneath the fabric.
"You weren't joking sweetheart, you're fucking soaked for me…" I spoke as the pleasure I left behind by my touch was enough to warrant her to drop her hand.
"What?" She asked to her mother's muffled voice.
"No, I'm not hungry!" She shot back. "Just go without me tonight!"
"But Topper is looking forward to seeing you…" My eyes narrowed to her.
"Oh really?"
"Shhh-" I took my hand to the back of her neck and forced a second finger to station at rest inside of her.
"Bet he would never be able to have you make that face…"
"Please….just wait…"
"Nuh uh, princess. You wanted to wear something like this for this very reaction." I lifted her into a spin until setting her at rest at her back. But I was quick to correct her positioning.
"Nice girls get to lay on their backs…naughty girls go on their knees…" I groaned into her shoulder as I pulled those thin straps down in disregard before kissing that soft skin. All to incite those little moans. Ones I didn't care who heard as they were well aware I was present. Even if they wished me away, her desire to need me here was enough to ignore their damning glares and incessant need to make their daughter the future Thornton Stepford wife.
"You're my naughty girl, aren't you, sweetheart?" I questioned with a wide grin as she turned back and nodded.
"And usually my naughty girl shows me that on her knees, doesn't she?" She shifted to place herself this way, but my swat to her ass kept her in place as she berated me for making our exchange vocal.
"Should have thought of that before wearing this…" I hovered behind her, my lips over her ear.
"And you only wear this for me, understand?"
"You mean I can't wear it for Top? He'd love it, I just know it-" I took hold of her jaw and turned her to face me. I didn't care to remove the outfit from her any longer as I had planned to take my time. Instead, it appeared I had to remind her of what her teasing cost her.
For this, I would pull the fabric of her ensemble to the side before teasing her desperate pussy with my cock. God, I lived to feel her. Nobody else ever felt like her. Nobody else took me as deep or that well. And it was enough to risk the wrath of either of her parents and even the unified Figure Eight as they tried to keep us apart.
"Fuck-" She gasped as I smirked behind her.
"My little Santa baby getting fucked in her cute little outfit…the same one I'm gonna make you come in so if you even think of wearing this around anyone else, they'll know I fuck you right."
"JJ-"
"And in case that isn't enough…" I pulled her to my chest, kissing her lips until they were swollen and she was breathless, lowering to her neck and leaving marks on her skin.
"Nobody will question it."
"They never do." She breathed with pride, never shameful to announce she was mine. At least not in public. In private, she didn't want to be heard. I guess I couldn't blame her in this instance as it would have been awkward to make eye contact to her calling me daddy as her biological one had learned how his little girl liked getting fucked just a few meters from his own room. And a part of me was thrilled by it. That same part rushing into her as she took me as well as always.
"You're so close for me, sweetheart…" I narrated as she nodded, sweat and desperation between us.
"Please-"
"One more time, princess. Loud enough so I can hear you over how well you're taking me like this…"
She hesitated, "I know you can baby…you didn't take my cock…I know you can scream. .so fucking scream for me…"
"JJ-"
"Louder-"
"JJ!!"
Her name was sung by my own groans at war behind clenched teeth as she tensed around me.
"I'm gonna come, princess…"
"Yes, JJ!"
"This fucking outfit is gonna wear both of us, isn't it?"
"Yes…" She breathed one final time as I found paradise between her thighs once again.
"You know I AM expecting you to dress up as sexy santa…" She teased as I fixed her ensemble while playing with the faux spheres left to imitate the sight of buttons.
"I'll even sit on your lap-" She teased as I took hold of the back of her neck and rested my lips to her ear from behind.
"You sit on my lap in this and you'll only get to come by riding my thigh-" She turned, a hand to my chest forcing me back to the edge of the bed.
"Do you want me to tell you what I want for Christmas?" She asked with a playful batting of her lashes.
"Oh, I already know. And you'll get well into New Years- " I asked while she began to rock into me, my thigh tightening and she rode a second high.
Maybe I would find a way to like Christmas after all…even if this was shaping out to be anything but a silent night…
