ꕤ Surprisingly, I think Jake would be the one that would have jealous sex the most out of enha. I just know he gets jealous so easily and craves your attention like 24/7. So if you would give another man your attention instead of him? That would make his blood boil. The problem with Jake though, is that he would not be able to hide his emotions, and you would know pretty quick when he was jealous. So when you were, in his opinion, flirting with Heeseung while eating dinner at a restaurant with the group, he would be so jealous. Maybe even a little bit angry. How dare you make him jealous when you know how much he loves you? He wouldn't even wait to fuck the shit out of you at home, no. He was going to do it in the restaurant. With his hand on your arm, he drags you with him to the bathroom, and doesn't waste any time before pulling up your skirt and pounding into you. ꕤ Jay would also get jealous often, but not as easily as Jake. I think Jay has more self control, and would fight back the urge to fuck the shit of you when you tried to make him jealous, until he couldn't anymore. He could handle you sitting on the couch, whispering and giggling to Sunghoon as if he was the funniest person ever, grabbing his arm and leaning into him. He knew that you were doing it on purpose, trying to rile him up. He would try to keep himself calm by taking heavy breaths. But when it got too much, and when he got too angry, was when he saw Sunghoon grabbing your thigh in an attempt to flirt with you. ꕤ I think Heeseung wouldn't be as jealous as often as the other two, and especially if he could see that you tried to make him jealous. So, when you came up with a plan to make Heeseung jealous because you thought it would be funny, it would end up with him only thinking you were cute for trying to piss him off. It was so obvious, the way you leaned back on the kitchen counter, looking deep into Jake's eyes, flirting, as if Heeseung didn't see you glancing at him so see if he was looking at you. He knew what you wanted, trying to make him have 'jealous sex' with you, thinking it would make him extra rough with you. They way he would teeease about it though. You suddenly see the way Heeseung was looking at you, tilting his head while cooking his eyebrow, his hand on his cock and a sly smirk on his lips. I picked up that infamous "save the cat" scriptwriting book that so many writers keep recommending.

It's the biggest pile of horseshite I've ever read. The author keeps contradicting his own rules, has a strange hatred of the Christopher Nolan film "Memento", keeps trying to redefine specific writing terms to mean something else, admits he only wrote the book to make money and be the one to set "the rules" for script writing, spends most of the book bragging about how many scripts he sold and how many famous friends he has, and classified Schindler's List as a genre he calls "dude who has a problem".

But most importantly, he said that every script needs to have an establishing moment that's supposed to make us like the protagonist and want them to succeed. A moment where the character does something good, like saving a cat, to get us invested in their journey.

So imagine my surprise when we were given an episode called "Save the Cat" in season 5, where all built up themes and story are thrown out the window.

Holy. Shit.

So, I had to go read this for myself after receiving this ask, so I thank you so much for giving this to me. My experience with it was, ah, interesting to say the least. I’ve heard of and used Save the Cat (beat sheet) as a story structure concept in the past (I think most writers are going to be forced to come into contact with STC, right?) But the book it self was for screenwriting and not novel writing, so it never struck me as something particularly noteworthy... Until now.

BOY HOWDY is this a book. It didn’t, um, impact me in a direct way but rather it brought me into this wormhole of other concepts typically used in screenwriting that I’ve heard of but apparently only scratched the surface of. As I’m in this wormhole, they’re voices in the screenwriting community that criticize STC as well—not that I was interested at the time of finding those discussions, having already received this ask and having these points already in my mind. Some other voice were giving completely different advice, and I started to absorb everything with this newfound…. Curiosity…

The only thing that I think is appropriate to leave this post with now is this cool, summarized quote I found somewhere in the middle of the week I spent reading STC + devouring screenwriting research, and you can take it as you will:

Tenoch Huerta + his life/roles etc B. Letitia Wright + her life/roles etc and C. Their adorable dynamic together. It’s a hodgepodge of random stuff. One big ice cream shop where you can pick your flavor of choice. So Nashuri shippers interact with me, Namor fans, Shuri fans , Letitia, Tenoch and so on. You get the idea. I love how open-ended my page is and that’s why I made it that way in the first place. Everyone is welcome here and can walk away with a little bit of something. My favorite song was Abstract (Psychopomp). Paired with his explanation I think it’s absolutely gorgeous and I love the musical storytelling they did with vocals and production. Same praise for First Light but there’s just something about Abstract that takes the top spot for me.

I, of course, loved the pre-released tracks but genuinely think he saved the strongest stuff for release night. That may be because I’m just familiar with the pre-released stuff. I thought Francesca and All Things End worked really well within the larger album structure in particular. Eat Your Young has to be my favorite of the pre-released albums but was really jarring to hear right after I, Carrion. Which, to be fair, is a cool effect of that ordering and furthers the song’s message.

Butchered Tongue. Just incredible. It was carefully written and in typical Hozier style, made interesting parallels out of different colonialisms and genocides. I won’t say much more here because I think the lyrics just speak for themselves so beautifully.

Son of Nyx was not at all what I expected but the production is incredibly creative, the instrumentals were gorgeous, and between De Selby(s) and First Light, it’s one of the storytelling pillars of the album and the hell narrative

I, Carrion (Icarian) was interesting and I thought the lyrics were gorgeous. Both of the “softer” love songs on the album (Icarian and First Time) are gut-wrenching and beautiful. I also love the stripped down feel to Icarian and I think he wrote it with his girlfriend? which having heard the song has to be the most romantic thing I’ve ever heard.

Anything But is some of the funniest shit I’ve ever heard

Stylistically, I’ve always liked the rock and acoustic feeling pieces but I loved that he added some of the funk influence to the album. All of the production felt different from his normal work in a cool, good way and I really think he pulled off the multi-genre concept incredibly well.

I have only one criticism of the album and it’s that I think he should’ve included Through Me. But, there’s always at least one good song that gets lost on the EP in the album cycle (rip NFWMB 🫡)

First Light and the “moral,” if I can derive one takeaway from the whole thing, which will be oversimplified because holy shit these songs, is that there is beauty in meaning in the cycle of light and dark, and that destruction and death are not something to be feared but rather something that can deepen how we understand the world. It is in turmoil that we can look to and understand our obligations to others and it is only by fully embracing all components of existence, including death and nothingness, that we can understand the art of being. We also must confront when death and destruction are objectively wrong and out of balance and reach out to each other in a work of communal preservation, which ultimately becomes our best way of self-preservation.

5. The fic you’re most proud of writing?

“A Deal’s a Deal” for sure! It’s at almost 70k words and the fact that I wrote ALL of that and posted new chapters semi-regularly feels like such an accomplishment. It became so much bigger than I intended it to be and I’m really proud of it. As for my one shots, my favorite is probably “Down to Clown” hehe

6. The fic you’re least proud of writing?

I really do like them all but I guess “Clown Head”? I do love it of course but I remember kinda rushing through it when I was writing it lol. I’m a perfectionist so sometimes I’ll reread my one shots and wish I’d done a little more.

10. Best/funniest comment you’ve ever gotten on a fic?

I love all my lovely comments but one person told me they wanted to “liquify my fic and inject it straight into [their] veins” and that has really stuck with me in the best way. I LIVE for comments like those.

11. Do you prefer writing angst, crack, or fluff?

This may come as a surprise, given how much fluff and smut I write, but I actually REALLY enjoy writing angst! Chap 17 of ADAD (the chapter where everything goes to shit) was actually my favorite to write because I weirdly enjoy writing arguments?? I like to test myself when it comes to writing realistic dialogue/fights. Angst hurts but I guess it’s fun to write? Without spoiling too much, my next fic will have a LOT more angst than ADAD 😳

9. Biggest pet peeve while writing?

I write in the text box so on my old phone it would just refresh the page and I will lose it all, mostly bc of the biggest pet peeve of all is when I’m writing something and I’m like shit would they say that so then I’m googling stuff for hours to try to remember if the thing I’m thinking of is canon or something I dreamt up lmao

did not, in fact, get the rest of the movements of the original piece before the end of term. did, in fact, get buzzed by a camera drone, show my gratitude to my conductor for the past term in the most truly cringeworthy way, and discover that the quartet has an affinity for mozart

the (complete) new movement we read is accompaniment for a song with a lot of pop rhythms and a modulation into a new key. but the funniest thing is that i swear to god it sounds like old school opm. i couldn’t describe how for the life of me. but i know my dad will start making up words to it when i practice at home.

honestly though the real star of rehearsal was the brief interlude in which we were videotaped playing the finale to haydn 104 for inclusion in a promotional video for the college of humanities and arts via, of all things, a small camera drone.

something about the presence of the camera got her hamming it up it was SOO FUNNY 💀💀💀 she did a little hair flip before we all prepared to play. and when the drone came whizzing around the strings she was cuing me like she’d NEVER cued me before. like girl was just like. 🫵🏻😳

you did not make eye contact with me like this and point for that One measure during the concert 🤨

during the drone’s first pass through the room the breeze knocked the associate concertmaster’s part off the stand and i managed to nudge it back over to the firsts with my foot without looking off of my music 😭 i hope it was the right way around

i was actually grinning through the whole thing for once, mostly because i thought it was the funniest shit that i’d ever been put through in this orchestra

we then recorded an audio-only version of the finale and i really just told myself to let go and have fun with it. then tita conductor waited for the audio person to lower the mic before joking brightly, ‘okay! let’s do it all again!’

(we did not. thank god because i was tired.)

now remember how i’ve had a little affirmation/reminder to self stuck onto the top of my folder so i will always see it when looking over the stand? at the beginning of the school year it was ‘huwag kang matakot’ (don’t be afraid) but around january when i was going through a bout of imposter feelings i changed it to ‘magtiwala sa kanya’ (trust her)

tita conductor asked everyone to turn in their folders on impulse and i collected everyone’s but didnt realize id forgotten to do anything with the note to self so (equally impulsively) i wrote ‘thank you for this term’ on the note, stuck it to the front, and handed it in to her with the other folders and a brief explanation.

it was cringe of me lol. but she’s really done a lot. im so grateful. and she was touched.

then she lowkey forgot to open the usual classroom for me and the quartet so i had to go back and ask again and she told me ‘my mind is like a sieve. you have to remember to hold on to me.’ girl please lmao?

anyways we closed the night reading through eine kleine nachtmusik together. which we sound pretty great at considering we were reading. i wish id recorded it

and there ends another term with orchestra. it was a good one. one more for the year (and possibly ever with this group.) can’t wait to make the most of it :)
