I like to think that Círdan says "perfection exists only in valinor" because most of the Elves that come to work in his workshop are stressed/need a break and are, because they're Elves, perfectionists.
So if they screw up on something he just waves a hand and says "eh, you're good. Perfection exists only in valinor."
But then it's also a compliment, if something you work on is really good, he's basically saying "it's not valinor but it's pretty damn close" while also not forcing the expectation of perfection on the Elves he works with like-
Yes, I'm overthinking this one fucking phrase but Círdan imparts wisdom, helps people overcome perfectionist tendancies and then dips, leaving everyone else to deal with the shit while he sips tea and whittles stuff and tbh that's the kind of vibe I want.
I mean then he screws over my headcanon by saying perfection doesn't just exist in Valinor- but again it's his vibe to say stuff and then just peace out.
