Father Dragon, His Dragonet and Monster
Platonic! Yandere! Neuvillette x GN! Child! Furina! Reader
Description: You didn't show up today. Neuvillette is worried.
Warnings and tags: OOC. English is my second language. You might see Focalors and Arlecchino as an unlikable people. Aether is a Traveler. Arlecchino's fate is gruesome.
A/N: It's a derect "what if" from original oneshot. However, you can see it as an alternative ending.
______
Neuvillette was equally worried and annoyed.
[Y/N] were late. They were never late before. They, despite being loud, dramatic and childish (for a five hundred-year-old archon), were responsible and punctual.
So, either something happened, that kept them late, or they overslept.
Neuvillette tapped out a simple rhythm on the tabletop with his fingers. In terms of inner and outer politics, legal proceedings and all other "Running the nation" business, he did most of the job, but [Y/N] still remain the most important figure and their participation was necessary.
Making a decision, he raised up from his chair and left the office.
A few minutes later, he climbed the stairs to the top floor of Palais Mermonia and stood at the door of their room.
Ceasth and Enghien¹, two melusines, that were guarding the door (recently, Neuvillette find it impossible, if not outright preposterous, to let humans guard [Y/N]'s room or kid themselves. Hydro Sovereign's child should be protected by a dragon, vishap or new sort of Hydro vishap), didn't notice him at first. They were whispering to each other, looking distressed. They didn't even realize, that Neuvillette was here, until he cleared his throat.
Melusines' ears perked up, they turned their heads in unison towards Neuvillette. Ceasth's tail nervously twitched.
"Monsieur Neuvillette! Good morning! Just in time, we were ready to go into your office."
Neuvillette frowned slightly.
"Did something happened with [Y/N]? Why they are late?"
Neuvillette tried not to roll his eyes, when both melusines looked appalled by how he addressed the archon.
Recently, Neuvillette not only stopped trusting people with protecting his kid. He couldn't bring himself to think about [Y/N] as an archon. It leads to some awkward moments, when he called [Y/N] by their name and without any title (both official and non-official) in someone else's company. He still remembered Clorinde's pale face, when she heard Neuvillette blatant disrespect. Even melusines, who, admittedly, weren't big fans of Hydro Archon, looked disturbed. A few times his tongue slipped, and he called [Y/N] by their name, when they worked together. Kid either choose to let it slide, or didn't pay too much attention to Neuvillette's words.
But right now, he has no time to deal with cultural shock. He leaned forward, looked straight at melusines. He repeated, slowly and clearly.
"Did something happened with [Y/N]?"
Enghien licked her lips, rubbing her hands.
"Yesterday they came back late. And they were... in distress. They didn't eat, and just stayed in their room. I don't know if they managed to sleep."
Ceasth didn't wait for Neuvillette to ask the next question.
"They were crying. There were some noise, coming from the room. Like Lord² [Y/N] were moving something. There also were sounds of something hitting the glass and talking. I couldn't make out the words, but the tone was... desperate... And now... Better, if you see it on your own, Monsieur Neuvillette."
Neuvillette's blood felt, like it froze. Crying, someone made [Y/N] cry...
Ceasth, obvious to Neuvillette's emotions, turned around, knocking on the door. She raised her voice, so [Y/N] would hear her.
"Lord [Y/N]! Please..."
The loud cry interrupted her.
"Go a-away! I-I w-won't g-go out!"
The voice ended up in sobbing. Neuvillette fight the urge to knock down the door.
His kid, his dragonet were in distress. His kid, his dragonet need their father!
Neuvillette spoke slowly, keeping his emotions in check.
"Caeth, Enghiene, please, leave us. I will deal with the situation."
Melusines looked at each other, but turned away from the door without questions. Waiting until the couple disappeared around the corner, Neuvillette knocked on the door.
Immediately, the voice followed.
"I s-said, go a-away! I will s-stay h-here!"
Neuvillette's voice was soft.
"[Y/N], I promise, I won't make you leave your room. But, please, let me come in. I want to make sure, that you are okay."
[Y/N] didn't answer. Neuvillette waited for a few seconds, before putting a hand on the handle.
"[Y/N], I am coming in."
Still no answer. Neuvillette pressed the door handle. Thankfully, it wasn't locked.
The room didn't change much since his last visit. It was a kid's dream come true, with everything being too new.
But the once tidy room were a mess.
All toys, blankets, pillows and chairs were gathered in a heap in the corner of the room.
From the depths of the makeshift shelter, a pair of frightened eyes, reddened from tears, looked at Neuvillette.
________
Sometimes, you wished, that your mom Focalors didn't give you a mission.
You wanted a family and wanted to have friends.
Despite everything, you were just a kid.
You tried, you really tried to do your best. To be a good actor.
Crying yourself to sleep was enough for you to keep your emotions in check. Until yesterday.
A Scary Monster attacked you. Scary Monster tried to kill you.
You don't remember, how you managed to escape and got to your room.
Only in your room you get a small break.
You cried. You were scared and terrified. Scared of Monster, that almost killed you.
Whatever you look, you saw Monster.
You didn't feel safe. You made a shelter from everything you could move into the corner. In a small breaks, you were hitting the mirror in your room, where four centuries ago you saw her. And you begged.
"M-mom! P-please, I am scared! P-please, mom, I-I don't want to be an archon a-anymore. I don't like that game! P-please, m-mom, I... I want a hug! Mom, there is a scary Monster in Fontaine! It almost killed me! M-mom..."
She didn't come. She didn't appear in your room, or in the mirror. She didn't say, that she won't let anyone hurt you, that you will be okay.
You were alone. You were alone for the last four centuries.
You didn't sleep that night. And couldn't bring yourself to leave your room.
You tried to force yourself to leave the room. You tried to tell yourself, that you have an important task.
You didn't listen.
There was a Monster outside.
And it was searching for you
______
Neuvillette's heart aches, seeing his kid so scared and vulnerable. He carefully approached the shelter, and big tearful eyes watched his every step.
Neuvillette stopped before the shelter, sitting on the floor, making himself look smaller, more approachable. He slowly extended both hands towards the frightened child. They whimpered, curling into a ball. Neuvillette could see [Y/N] hugging a familiar plush Ball Octopus. Bubbly Seahorse and Armored Crab were also here, flanking the scared child.
"P-please, leave me alone." [Y/N] trembled, not looking at Neuvillette. "I will work from here today."
Neuvillette's frown deepen. There should be something he can do to make the kid calm down.
Neuvillette looked around. His gaze stopped on a familiar bookshelf, full of books about kids having families and getting ones.
A foggy memory surfaced on his mind.
A century ago, there was a relatively popular children's play in Mondstadt. A musical about a family having a happy life and going on adventures together.
There was a short Teyvat tour. In Fontaine, they were performing in Opera Epiclese.
[Y/N] watched all performances they had. Moreover, some melusines whispered about seeing Hydro Archon sneaking around the place, where acting troupe were practicing.
Neuvillette wasn't interested in children's plays. He barely remembered the tunes. But his kid needed it.
He started humming. One of the songs from the play, which mother sang to her children.
He didn't remember much. But now, repeating the melody over and over, he started to remember the tune.
[Y/N] stopped shaking. They were silently watching Neuvillette, tears running down kid's cheeks.
Neuvillette, still humming, extended his arms towards [Y/N] again.
This time they moved. With all of their three favorite plushies, they crawled towards Neuvillette. They left the shelter, letting Neuvillette see the unkempt appearance of normally tidy child.
Without letting their toys go, [Y/N] reached towards Neuvillette.
Still humming the lullaby, he hugged them, and slowly stand up, trying not to drop them and their toys.
He was holding them with one hand, while slowly petting their head with the other.
He put his chin on top of kid's head. Their hair was unkept, but fluffy.
[Y/N] were sobbing.
Neuvillette didn't speak, preferring to hum the melody. He managed to recall not only the whole motive, but, even some verses.
His voice never sounded so warm before.
"...My, beloved child please stay here, in my arms. While, you're still small and fragile I, will keep you safe from harm.."³
[Y/N] stopped sobbing. Now they were sitting here, with their face hidden in Neuvillette's chest.
Neuvillette didn't speak. He sang the song a few more times, before asking.
"Little one, tell me, who made you so upset? Your dad will punish them. Your dad will make sure, that no one will hurt you."
A pair of [e/c] eyed stared at Neuvillette.
______
You are supposed to be an archon.
A loud, boisterous god.
Lord of All Waters, Kindreds, Peoples, and Laws. God of justice.
But you weren't them. They are her titles.
Titles, that you supposed to pretend to have.
You are supposed to be strong. You should yell at Neuvillette. You should chew him out for braking the subordination.
You were a God of Fontaine.
You were a liar, who would probably be kicked out on the streets the morning moment the lie is discovered.
And who would probably still be kicked out, when That Trial is over.
You didn't want to think about it. You wanted to think, that after the prophecy is averted, and you will be free to live your own life, they will appear.
Your family.
Your dad, who will protect you, and who will take you on travels.
Your mom, who will give you warm hugs and sing you lullabies.
You will live in a small cozy cottage. You will attend school, play with friends, get good grades.
And your family will love you.
But, what if it was just a lie? What if no one will be here? What if you will be alone. Forever.
You should yell at Neuvillette, who sang you a lullaby. You should chew him out for wanting to be your dad.
You didn't want to do it. You will let his disrespectful attitude slide. Just for a bit.
You are just a kid, right? Y-you...
You wanted to have a family just for a bit. A protective father.
"Monster... I was attacked by a monster...⁴ I just wanted to play with a cat... I didn't do anything wrong! And then monster..."
You were still crying. Neuvillette tighten his hug. He fought the urge to growl. He didn't want to scare you.
He caught his reflection in the window's glass.
His eyes became even more dragon-like. Slits of pupils became even thinner, irises became dark-purple, and scleras became light-purple.
He didn't growl, but he did bare his teeth. His canines became sharp, too sharp to be human teeth. Dragon's fangs. Neuvillette wondered if they were sharp enough to tear apart the monster.
Not now. He should make sure, that his dragonet are safe.
_____
"Don't be mistaken, Monsieur Neuvillette, I do respect you. Her Royal Highness the Tsaritsa view you as an embodiment of Fontaine's Laws and Justice. However, I can't help, but wondering, what keeps Lord [Y/N] so busy? They have been missing official diplomatic meetings. Is Fontaine trying to send a message? Maybe, Snezhnaya became too insignificant in eyes of Hydro Archon. So insignificant, that Hydro Archon didn't care about meeting with a diplomat in person."
Arlecchino looked at him above the teacup. Neuvillette's face was emotionless. He waited for her to take a sip.
"Mademoiselle Arlecchino, don't you think, that you are crossing the line? Or did Cryo Archon make the most rude and mindless donkeys Snezhnayan diplomats?"
Arlecchino coughed, choking on a tea. Neuvillette's face still was emotionless, but he was delighted. Because, if she was the monster, who attacked his dragonet, she deserved nothing, but pain.
"Lord [Y/N] decided to spend all their time on solving the prophecy. The fate of a nation is more important, than a little dispute over Snezhnayan harbinger."
Arlecchino finally caught her breath.
"It's... not a little dispute. Childe was arrested for some unknown reasons, Fontaine didn't do anything to investigate his case, and you are refusing to let us investigate. One would think, that Fontaine want to cut ties with Snezhnaya."
Neuvillette looked through the window. His thoughts were far away. He was thinking about a home, far away from the capital. About small pound at the front yard with otters. About cozy rooms. And about his little dragonet. What were you doing right now? Were you reading? Were you playing? He hopped, that you weren't crying or trembling with fear. Because you were afraid, that monster will attack you again.
Three days ago he got you away from Palais Mermonia. He took you in his own house. It was secure, no one knew where it was. He promised, that you will be safe there. There was everything you will ever need. Cozy room, toys, books. Friendly otters, tasty food.
A good place to raise a dragonet.
And while dragonet are safe in their nest, Dragon Dad will hunt.
He didn't care, that you don't know who exactly attacked you. He would find out.
"Fortress of Meropide isn't under Fontaine's jurisdiction. Lord [Y/N] and I can't order Duke Wriothesley to release your colleague. Either spoke with Duke directly, or wait for Marechaussee Phantom to investigate his case. And stop lecturing me on how to run a nation."
He looked directly in Arlecchino's eyes.
"Now, I believe, that we have nothing else to discuss."
Harbinger stayed silent. With a nod, she stood up.
"We will continue our discussion later, Monsieur Neuvillette."
When she left, Neuvillette whispered.
"We will, if you are the one, who hurt my dragonet."
---
------
----
Neuvillette didn't really want to help Arlecchino or Childe. But he did ask Traveler and Paimon to get to Fortress of Meropide just to get make that annoying harbinger to shut up.
It took them a few days to learn about Childe's disappearance. However, they only decided to give a full report to Neuvillette after their month-long sentence was over. Neuvillette wasn't paying attention to their report. He was checking the list of names he made.
All Fontainians, all melusines, all tourists and diplomats. Everyone could have been the one, who attacked [Y/N] a month ago. Some names were crossed. He checked their alibis, and they were innocent. He still has a lot of names in his list.
"Oh, Monsieur Neuvillette, [Y/N] were always an Archon, right?" Paimon's question caught Neuvillette's attention. He looked at flying fairy, raising an eyebrow. Paimon was obvious to Neuvillette's confusion, and to Aether's 'Paimon, no' whispers.
"Of course they always were. What a strange question."
Neuvillette return to his list. Paimon, still obvious to Aether's whispers, explained.
"The Knave told us, that [Y/N] might be a liar. They don't have a gnosis."
Neuvillette dropped his pen. He slowly looked at Paimon again. Fairy start explaining, while Aether just rubbed his forehead in defeat.
"Oh... One month ago she tried to get the Hydro Gnosis..."
One month ago... When [Y/N]...
"...She waited, when [Y/N] were alone..."
His child, after another nightmare filled night was crying, while he was hugging them...
His eyes became more draconic...
"...they didn't fight, only begged to be spared..."
They again barricaded all windows in the house. Afraid, that one day monster will return...
Fangs broke the skin of his lips, filling his mouth with metallic taste of blood...
"...there were no gnosis, but they survived..."
They were spooked by a snapped twig, thinking, that monster was coming...
Sharp claws shredded the useless list...
"... perhaps, they just cursed. Maybe, if we face Lord [Y/N] in court..."
WHAT THESE PESTS THINK THEY ARE?!
"OUT!!!"
Neuvillette's roar shook Palais Mermonia, and terrified Aether and Paimon ran away.
Neuvillette, now more of a beast, than a human, sank his claws in the table.
Arlecchino. She was his target after all.
The hunt was on.
-----
Next few days Neuvillette couldn't look for Arlecchino. Poisson was flooded with Primordial Sea waters. People start demanding to see [Y/N], who still were staying in his home.
During days Neuvillette was dealing with aftermath if the flood.
At nights, he was taking care of [Y/N]. Their nightmares finally became less frequent. They even started to play outside more often.
There was a trial scheduled for today. Surprisingly, details of the trial were hidden from him.
For some reason, instead of a trial, Lyney and Lynette were performing. Neuvillette was ready to leave, when twins performed their last trick.
On a stage three people appeared.
Traveler, Paimon and utterly terrified you.
-----
You were just taking a small walk. You wanted to pick up some flowers to make a flower crown for Neuvillette.
The last month were scary, but you have never been happier before. You felt like a normal child who have the greatest dad in the world.
Somehow, you were found by people of Fontaine. They were shouting. Demanding answers from you.
You ran. Traveler found you and take you to a safe place.
In some cruel twist of fate, he got you into the court.
Aether's voice wasn't loud, but for you, it sounded like yelling.
"Your honor, I would like to charge Lord [Y/N] as a fraud who's never been the Archon in the first place."
You were trying to keep yourself together. You can't let them see your fear.
Neuvillette could barely contain his anger.
"I won't tolerate baseless accusations in the Court. There will be no trial today."
"But, Monsieur Neuvillette, by Fontaine laws..."
She still was talking, but neither you nor Neuvillette heard her.
Arlecchino was standing on the stage.
You start to back away, until your back was pressed directly to Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale.
You recognize her.
Monster finally found you.
You felt alone. Monster was here. Fontaine hated you. You wanted to return to Neuvillette's home. Tou you home.
Neuvillette's blood boiled. She was here. She was scaring his child.
But there was one thing he heard.
"D-dad!" his child called, and Neuvillette moved.
Neither him nor you noticed, how Indemnitium in Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale start going wild.
-------
Heavy body crushed into Arlecchino. Neuvillette's boot immediately pressed her head was against the stage.
"I will inlaid your broken body on Hydro Archon's statue!"
Neuvillette didn't care about screams of audience. He didn't care about narwhal, that was ready to consume everyone in sight.
He only cared about killing the harbinger.
Suddenly, the room felt with light. Noises were gone.
Narwhal was gone.
Arlecchino was gone.
[Y/N] were gone.
Only her.... Hydro Usurper was here.
Hydro Sovereign and Hydro Archon looked at each other.
"They called for you. They called you 'mother'." Neuvillette didn't blink.
"I... am not their mother..." Focalor's voice was weak. There was no use in saying anything. She could see it.
Her decision in taking away more powers, in making child a false archon, lead to this. At first, she thought, that hydro dragon might find [Y/N] adorable, and it will save Fontaine.
He did find [Y/N] adorable.
But, it looks like Fontaine's fate won't be as good as she hoped it would be.
Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale fell on her.
Hydro Sovereign's authority was restored.
-----
You were back home. Some melusines were keeping your company, while you were playing outside.
Everywhere you look, you saw walls of water, that now separated Fontaine from the rest of Teyvat.
Neuvillette left, saying, that he must deal with the monster.
------
Hydro Sovereign powers over the Primordial Sea were exceptional. He could easily give people of Fontaine a temporary forgives for their sins, or could easily create walls, made of Primordial Sea waters.
He could also easily make that walls a normal water again. And take away the forgiveness.
"Bring me the harbinger, if you don't want to dissolve in waters of the Primordial Sea."
She was here. Standing before him.
For the first time in ages, he was in his full dragon form. His talons grabbed her.
Hydro dragon spoke, and his voice made the earth quake.
"You are guilty. Pay for your crimes with your blood."
He was a dragon, but his horns weren't that sharp. In the water teeth and claws were much more useful for hunting.
To impale someone with his horns will be a torture. For an impaled.
And Neuvillette would love every second of it.
------
Natlan was a nation of dragons.
Place, where humans and saurians live together.
Fontaine became a nation of a dragon and his dragonet.
Neuvillette, Hydro Sovereign, ruled over the nation. He was a judge and an executor.
But you were the one who were sitting on the throne.
A child, who were adored by Hydro Dragon. Child, for whom Neuvillette will flood Teyvat.
Perhaps, you were supposed to do something about it. To tell Neuvillette, that he is wrong.
But you won't do it.
Not when he was taking care of you, when he was making sure that you are happy.
You always wanted to have a family. And, at that point of your life, you didn't care, if Fontaine's freedom was the price for your happiness.
¹ Quest-exqlusive melusines from canon. Ceasth is from Sigewinne's story quest, Enghiene is from "Lil' Fungi's Fun-Tastic Fiesta" and "Dance of Resolute Will" events.
²Headcannon time! It seems, "Lord" title for Archons are gender-neutral. We have Lord Barbatos, who, despite having an androgynous statue, is a male for in-universe people (see 'Sub-Space Boulder: Verdant Peak' description), and Greater Lord Rukkhadevata with Lesser Lord Kusanali, two females. I didn't want to use canonical Regina, because it is a female title.

⁴ Headcannon time. It seems, that at first Furina didn't recognize, who attacked her until she met Arlecchino later during official meeting.

I know I said "between 800-1500 words". This one just ran away from me ok shhhh. I also made up some draconic courtship lore, don't look too hard at it (but please tell me if you think it's cute thank you <3) anyways ENJOY !!! ꩜ This was written for @coingbee as part of my Care for a Fic fundraising event for Gaza! If you would to request a fic of your own, do check out the event post above ^^
The Hydro Sovereign has returned to their full power.
From beneath the surface, your head lifts. Judging by the excited clicks and chirps made by the rest in the community, it seems as if the others have sensed it too.
Whilst your fellow bathysmal vishaps murmur and chatter wildly with each other about whether or not to head up to the surface, you’ve already come to a decision. Without wasting another minute, you’re already hightailing it upwards towards the surface, tracking the whereabouts of your Hydro Sovereign via the trail of draconic power traces.
Following the trail takes you all the way into Fontaine. Along the way, you’ve adamantly ensured not to take routes with higher human traffic. The very thought of even crossing paths with one sends your mind twisting with a hatred and loathing so foul.
As your journey progressed, the ebbing and flowing stream of the trail you’ve been tracking gradually grows stronger and stronger as your distance travelled increases. Until, finally, you’re sure you’re close to the end and even closer to meeting the Hydro Sovereign when the trail stops and seems to be wholly focused and condensed into a solitary being nearby.
Your head emerges from beneath the water, breaking the still surface, sending ripples outwards. Eagerness bubbles within you as you anticipate finally meeting with the Hydro Sovereign that the bathysmal vishaps have been biding their time for, restlessly awaiting the return of their Dragon Lord. The moonlight of the evening is lovely, reflecting off the flow of the ripples.
And yet, as you crane your head to look over to where the water laps gently at the shore, to where the trail you’ve been tirelessly following should end, you feel your blood chill.
All you see is a mere human who stares out into the vast sea.
A split second is all it takes for any previous semblance of anticipation to morph into disbelief and bitterness. Surely, this can’t be! After all this time, was the undying hope in seeing the return of the Hydro Sovereign wasted on some farce? A prime example of a cruel sadistic joke the high heavens would play at your expense, just to see you inevitably crumble at the grand reveal?
Consumed by your emotions for a moment, you can’t help but regret not having forsaken your sight as your ancestors did. For perhaps if you had followed in their footsteps, you would’ve been able to bask in the exalted presence of your Sovereign leader, albeit for the price of blissful ignorance.
However, there is still a stubborn, restless part in your mind that wishes to understand just how you could have been so misled like this, how you had managed to be fooled into tracking the trail of a human all this time.
In a bat of an eye, you swim and make it to the shoreline, the coarse sand crunching under your claws. The disturbance causes the human to notice you, startled by the sudden appearance of a bathysmal vishap. (Although, strangely enough, no trace of fear shows on their face, and they make no move to scurry away.)
As the tension between the two of you grows, you advance slowly towards the human, low hissing sent to them as a warning. And suddenly, they try soothing you in a tongue that’s nothing but familiar to you.
Before your mind can keep up with the fact that this mere human can communicate with your kind, your head has already instinctively lowered along with your gaze pointed down towards the ground in deference to the undeniable traces of draconic authority in their tone and voice.
And when you feel a gloved hand lightly patting under your chin, trying to usher you back up to your previous position, you're struck with the dilemma of relishing in the awe of the unmistakable power of the Hydro Sovereign thrumming beneath or scorning the fact that you've allowed a human to touch you so casually.
(Does it really matter if the human in question is technically your Dragon Lord? The uncertainty leaves a sour taste in your mouth.)
Nevertheless, with enough insistence, they manage to raise your head back up before they start up the conversation.
“Greetings. I am sure you must have many questions regarding my form-” you nod, “-Very well, I suppose an explanation of events both recent and bygone is in order.” Through this, you learn briefly about the matters that have transpired, that his name is Neuvillette, that he is the both Iudex and the Hydro Dragon.
“I expect that you would take this information back to the rest of the vishaps, and that soon I might see more of you on the surface-” his tone drops to one more stern and absolute, “-With this, should any of the human Fontanians meet any unjust or unreasonable form of harm from your kind, I shall not hesitate in enacting the appropriate judgement.”
An understanding reached, you return back to your community as a sort of newly appointed mouthpiece. However, this proves not to be your last meeting with the Sovereign. No, far from it, really.
The sun starts to dip below the horizon as you slink languidly behind Neuvillette on a stroll together at the area outside of the Opera Epiclese. A couple melusines ride atop your back, Blathine and Veleda. You’ve come to remember their names after Neuvillette encouraged you and the melusines to get along more. (And you might have a soft spot for them after realising the fondness the Hydro Sovereign extends to them.)
The sight of the Chief Justice, along with a literal vishap essentially piggybacking two melusines might seem to be an odd sight to most. However, Fontanians have simply gotten used to this after the first few instances.
“Ah, there goes the Iudex and the melusines, and that big ol’... weird lizard he keeps around again, for the third time this week,” you hear someone in the surroundings say.
“Huh. Good for him, I guess,” someone else says in reply.
Despite all the time you’ve spent around humans while at your Sovereign’s side, you still haven’t quite managed to readily want to take up the form of one. Hence, the reason why there was a vishap right in front of the Fountain of Lucine.
Sometimes the Fontanians comment that you’re some sort of big guard dog for Neuvillette. (Honestly, you can’t quite find it in yourself to be opposed to being seen as a protector for someone you hold dear. Plus, it made for easier piggyback rides for the melusines and you enjoy seeing the warmth on Neuvillette’s face when he sees them having fun.)
As the sky darkens and the stars above begin to twinkle, the both of you drop the melusines off at their destinations. Soon, you’ve strolled to the coastline, the soft sound of sea water crashing against the shore blending into the ambient noise in the peaceful evening. Admiring the moonlight glistening and skating across the body of water, you break the comfortable silence first.
“I shall be travelling back to the depths tomorrow, is there any message you would like me to pass on to the bathysmal vishaps?”
Ever since your first meeting with Neuvillette, more and more of the others have been venturing out and up to the surface with the return of the Hydro Dragon. Due to your enthusiasm in meeting with the Sovereign, the responsibilities of monthly reports and announcements now fall on your back. (Sigh, is this what you get for being the first one back up? “The early bathysmal vishap meets the Hydro Sovereign,” or something of the like?)
“Ah. Has it already been a month since the last one?” He pauses to think, before continuing, “No, I don’t have any information or messages to relay.”
Another short lull in the conversation, you note that he seems to be mulling something over as he thumbs along the handle of his cane in quiet contemplation.
“I hope I am not overstepping as I say this, however, I find myself reluctant to part with you. I find that the time that we spend together is invaluable and that I oftentimes catch myself longing for your presence whenever we are apart,” he communicates this to you, the vulnerability apparent in his words.
“Perhaps, my confession would be more sincere if I were not restricted in my human form.”
As he says this, he wades into the waters, then dives under when deep enough. There’s a change in the atmosphere surrounding you, a heavier pressure forming and coalescing as a vivid bright blue starts to glimmer from the depths.
You look out expectantly, waiting with bated breath, and before long, the mirror surface of the water begins to ripple and distort from something significant moving underneath. Its streamlined movements rocket it towards where you’re standing, and as the level of the water decreases, more of its form is revealed until ultimately, the Hydro Dragon stands before you in all of his glory.
His serpentine frame towers high above you, almost double your height, with smooth iridescent azure scales covering the top of his body and claw-tipped flippers. The colour of his scales transition gradually from blue to ivory white in areas like his underside and neck. His powerful tail relaxes in the shallows, occasionally swishing, causing little waves in the water.
Casting your gaze further up, you see the familiar sight of his glowing tendrils, extending down from the two sides of the back of his head. He cranes his head downwards in one fluid motion, closing the distance between the two of you as he levels you with piercing lavender slitted pupils.
Driven by natural instinct, you bow at the display of ancient authority.
“Raise your head, after all, have you not managed to worm your way into the space next to my heart?” You hear his voice in your mind, the edges of his words pronounced with the slightest hint of a gravelly growl in this new form.
He shifts in closer, nudging his head under yours to lift your gaze back up so that it meets his own.
“As I expected. This form truly is more freeing for myself. Now, I am able to do this,” The tendrils by his head seem to glow more intensely before he can continue. The almighty Hydro Dragon is… blushing?
“Forgive me if I am too forward, however,” there’s nothing but sincerity in his gaze, “Would you allow me to entwine with you?”
Neuvillette's simple question sends your mind reeling. The act of entwining is an incredibly personal act of intimacy and often indicates the start of courtship in draconic species, one that signals everlasting devotion and commitment.
Usually, entwining is done with tails in regular vishap species. However, species with tendrils can also choose to use them instead of their tails since many believe the gesture to be more heartfelt. It is also said that the closer the frills or spines that the tendrils wrap around are to the head, the stronger the affection that the dragon has for the receiving party.
“I ask this of you not as the Hydro Dragon but rather, as Neuvillette. The one who has seen you cherish and care for the melusines, the one who has had walks under the rain with until the stars have emerged in the clear night sky.” He tilts his head down, tone serious. “That is to say, I do not wish to have your agreement only be one made out of obligation to authority.”
A beat of silence passes as your brain scrambles to process Neuvillette pouring his heart out to you, and you realise that your lack of an answer causes him to hesitate. (His tendrils droop a little and you think you see rain clouds starting to form.)
Before he can apologise or backtrack, you shift forward, headbutting him lightly to shake him out of his crestfallen state.
“Of course, Neuvillette.”
Upon hearing your answer, he instantly brightens and he goes to nuzzle his cheek against the side of your snout.
“Do excuse me if I execute this wrongly, I’ve never done it before after all,” he comments before gingerly manipulating his glowing tendrils so that they coil around the spines closest to your head on either side.
Up close, you can see everything so clearly, the tenderness in his gaze that he holds specifically for you. You can’t help but playfully bump your forehead against his, making him emit a content low rumble.
When he untangles and pulls back up, you swipe your tongue briefly against one of his tendrils, something akin to a quick kiss. This elicits a shiver from Neuvillette, his eyes squeezed shut.
“Apologies, ahem, it seems that my tendrils are quite the sensitive area. This full form is still somewhat new to me, and I have not had the chance to discover and understand everything about it just yet,” he squirms lightly against you.
“So how about we find out together? No time like the present, after all,” your tone is sly, charged with a salacious intent that causes Neuvillette to stiffen, tendrils glowing even more intensely than before.
Saying nothing, he swiftly manoeuvres his lithe body until he’s lying supine on his back,. he exposes his vulnerable underbelly to you, an act so trusting that it roots you to the spot in disbelief for a brief second. Your eyes travel down until you catch sight of his cloacal opening already growing slick.
“Teach me well, beloved.”
Using his tail, he ushers you onto his larger form, where you clamber until you've positioned your slit against his. And when you grind downwards, you can feel him tremble beneath you.
“Hah… I wasn’t aware that it would feel this good,” you hear his voice shake with arousal in your mind. Maybe it’s a side effect of telepathic draconic communication, yet, it’s almost as if you can feel everything he’s feeling, like all your sensations are linked with his, increasing the pleasure bubbling up within you twofold.
He takes the initiative this time, pushing his bottom half upwards to rut against you. It’s not long before the both of you are reduced to grinding against each other, each moving in tandem in order to maximise the pleasure.
Suddenly, Neuvillette halts all action, causing you to freeze and check up on him.
“I’m alright. I only stopped because it seems like your hemipenes have everted.” Bashfully, he averts his gaze elsewhere, as if he had been caught seeing something he shouldn’t have. (Which is laughable considering the fact that the both of you were just writhing on the ground, tangled up in each other.)
In your haze, you hadn’t even noticed your cocks evert. Neuvillette’s are still somewhat concealed within, only the drooling tips peeking out of his entrance.
“Yours haven’t yet, that won’t do. How else are we supposed to help you understand your new anatomy?” you shake your head, a faux forlorn tone decorating your words. “Would you allow me to penetrate you, Neuvillette?”
He nods at your suggestion and you line up one of your tips at his opening. Aided by the copious amount of slick fluid, you’re able to slowly enter him, sandwiching one of his dicks between the one you have in him and the one rubbing against his exposed head.
The new sensation has him throwing his head back, drawing out a loud throaty groan.
“D-Don’t stop, please, beloved.”
Spurred on by how wrecked he sounds, when you’ve made sure he’s comfortable, you start to rock in and out of him, shallow unhurried motions to start then transitioning to a faster pace once he starts to meet your thrusts. Slowly but surely, as Neuvillette gets increasingly worked up, his hemipenes gradually evert until they’re fully revealed.
They’re slender, each with a pale white bulbous base that then curves and morphs into a tip that’s more flared on the bottom edge, like a blunt fishing hook.
“There we go, how are you feeling, still fine?”
“Yes, but allow me to catch my breath first before we continue. Thank you for checking with me, beloved.”
When he’s ready, he experiments and frots his cocks against yours, hissing at the heat and friction as they drag along your lengths. The slick sounds do nothing to quell the rising desire within you and you can feel yourself reaching your peak.
The dragon under you is faring no better as well, judging by how wound up he’s getting. His tail is flicking wildly to and fro in the water, churning up the sand as a desperate mix of growls, chirrups, and pitched calls leave him. Despite it all, he’s still the most gorgeous sight you’ve ever had the opportunity to witness.
“You’re nothing but beautiful, Neuvillette. Ah! I’ve grown to see the overflowing compassion you have within you,” he keens at your words and you can sense the pleasure he’s feeling melding with yours.
“How fortunate I must be to stay at your side, to call you mine, as I, yours.” And this is what does him in.
As he spills over, his tail goes to loop around yours tightly whilst his muscles lock and shake. You follow suit not long after, a sticky mess forming between the two of your bodies
A quick splash around in the water washes most of the evidence off. You rest next to where he’s curled up comfortably, the waves rhythmically lapping up against him. The atmosphere is relaxed as the both of you wind down and converse.
“I’d love to stay with you till the late morning but you have a trial scheduled and I promised to find Pahsiv first thing in the morning to catch up,” you lament.
A rumble from his chest, he’s chuckling. He tucks his head next to yours, caressing a tendril across your cheek.
“I’ll wait for you. Return safe, my beloved one.”

old and new [gn/m.reader]
good lord i have been gone for a long time. i am so sorry, i am recovering from bloccus writicus. also i may have been… getting in touch with my thirst for strong women. women are so beautiful. i love them. to all my requesters (? how to english), please excuse my tardiness. allow me to rev my engine before delivering them once again. i’m gonna warm up with a few posts (including this). ALSO THIS STORY IS JDIADMC IDK.
𖦹 big on genshin lore because i am nerding out, creator reader but not sagau reader, like i’m talking you are a character in the story, ooh look at me diverting from my agenda of overseer reader (i blame skirk’s master).

The mere ability to create is something so vast and so elaborate, placed upon the pedestal for all to see. If one is gifted with the passion and talent to create, they are the envy of all — to craft the most divine pieces, create something so intricate that it is nothing short of impressive.
And through it all, an artist hones one’s skills until they have reached the peak — until they’ve viewed every perspective, until they’ve used every shade, until they’ve done every stroke, all of it comes down to their prized creation;
Their Magnum Opus.
That… was Teyvat to you.
It was your pièce de résistance. If the myriad of heavenly bodies that lay before your trail were thought-provoking and terrifyingly beautiful to a fault, then Teyvat was your inexplicable masterpiece, one that took trial and error as your gentle hands shaped and carved every landscape, as your breath that blew into it became the protecting breeze, and as the tears that you wept from joy became the primordial seas of the world that birthed new life forms that you managed to call a mere happy accident.
It was yours. Many worlds before it were mere prototypes, but something you’ve cherished nonetheless. To you, Teyvat was the product that will possibly never get any better and a creation that will never be bested by anything else.
You granted it laws that were akin to the past worlds you’ve crafted with your own hands, you gave it life through the creatures that crawled around the earth. It thrived and you gave it autonomy once you thought it could work on its own course with your given gifts to let it thrive.
Teyvat was your cherished creation.
And the same rings true until now upon your quiet descent. Your immaculate robes that were woven with stardusts suddenly turning into a soft silk. You walked the earth in your bare feet, the blades of grass a mere tickle underneath you as you journeyed through the world.
The breeze blew by your hair and you felt the sheer invigoration, forcing a tiny titter out of you. You embraced the fruits of your hard labor, recalling the eons you nearly wept in agony as you continued to sculpt everything down to its tiniest detail.
And out of all of that, you birthed your pride and joy, this world that could never measure up to anything else.
Your eyes which held the countless stars and worlds you’ve created soon found itself gazing across the vast lands of this realm of light you’ve created, finding the realm of void opposing the one you were on.
Countless times you’ve heard your fellow artisans question you for creating such an unconventional place to be. But you sought balance in this perfect world of yours, where every creature can walk on their own respective realms. And if you can create pure beings of light, who’s to say that you can’t create the creatures that lurk within the void?
Your feet pattered against the grass that rustled as you hoped to approach and visit the opposing realm when you felt the ground beneath your rumble and shake. You stilled yourself with ease as you looked over your shoulder.
And your eyes had never known such beauty until now.
For the first time, a creature of divinity such as yourself was gobsmacked at the sight of a huge Vishap that stood before you.
It was a beautiful one — its blue scales that blended with the water from your tears of joy that you’ve shed upon your creation, its eyes holding the purest intentions that matched its pure being. You can feel the waters surge within its very form, like a fresh cold spring on a hot summer day.
Your eyes suddenly filled with tears as you felt your heart constrict with so much love as you watched it approach you. You have never seen such beauty that it truly nearly knocked you off your feet. Your chest ached with so much want as you continued to marvel the creature that you only hoped of succeeding in creating several eons ago.
“Oh… look at you…”
Your voice, honeyed and smooth as a silk, tinkled across the lands — waking up the creations that you gave life to upon your very own creation of Teyvat. Your voice, filled with so much love and tenderness, directed to the Vishap that towered over your tiny mortal form with ease, rang out, as if to call for it to come closer.
And it does.
The earth shakes with every weighted step that it took and you followed, contrasting the loudness with the silence of your own steps. You met it halfway until the very concept of distance no longer exists between you and the Vishap.
“…Such a beautiful one you are,” you whispered, your voice emitting a lilt of care and intense joy that you managed to suppress for a good measure before it overwhelmed you.
You lent a hand and its gaze directs towards it.
The Vishap leans into your touch and you can feel the waves of the primordial sea flow through you. With it, you can feel the joy you’ve felt once you’ve reached the end of your creation. You’ve felt the nostalgic satisfaction that kept you fulfilled even until now. You’ve felt the overwhelming love and excitement that you had when you took a step back and got a good look on Teyvat’s finality.
“You, who cradled our lives in your hands,” it spoke with a bellowing voice, making it seem like your own was but a mere squeak. “…Why do you pursue a creation as grand as this?”
You took a second as you pondered its question.
“…For the love in me is much too big not to share.”
“We have anticipated your descent. Nibelung has prophesied the return of the tearful artisan.”
You felt yourself flush at the title that was given to you unceremoniously, “Are my tears so ineffably embarrassing that I deserve such a name from my beloved creations?”
It huffed at your light jest, “It is nothing more but a praise. Your tears brought life in this barren world. Your tears gave birth to a new life that not one could hope to achieve—
“Your tears are my waters, to which I have complete sovereign on. Your tears are my will, to which I am eternally thankful for.”
You felt the inevitable warmth flow through your tiny body from the Vishap’s words alone. While it was satisfying to finish Teyvat on its own, you suddenly found a level beyond that feeling after receiving gratitude from your own creation firsthand. It melted your lonely soul and you couldn’t help but feel giddy at the feeling of it alone.
Such a simple gesture it was — to thank you — and yet the feeling it gave transcends every other emotion you’ve felt throughout the course of your long and eternal life.
“May you continue to prosper with the gift I’ve given you.” You blessed it with your small voice, barely above a mere whisper.
Your palm that shaped many worlds emitted the kind of warmth from a starting kiln and the Vishap relished in the feeling, a pleased growl echoing through the empty vast land of the light realm.
“The life that I owe to you will be cherished and used to its fullest. And should I perish, I will return with memories of you, no matter how faint.” It promised in one breath.
Your silken robes billowed against the breeze that blew by again. You can only feel your thoughts and feelings mingle with the Vishap’s. For once, you are able to see how it and its fellow Vishaps came to be, how each of them walked through the light realm and claimed its own homes where they ruled with incredible prosperity and indomitable ambition.
You were able to appreciate the further creation of life on this world that you deemed perfect, and was able to see how it went when you slept to rest for a good few centuries.
It was a feeling so invigorating, that you could feel your heart swell with so much love and pride for these dragons that walked the haven you’ve created. It mattered not to you how they came to be, only that they were able to live in peace and free from cumbersome bothers. It eased your heart, knowing that they are able to propagate their kind with so much freedom under the autonomous law that you gave to Teyvat.
You were feeling genuine satisfaction.
And it feels your jovial heart, with the way it continued to nestle its luminous scaled body into your touch.
“Protect this world with all your might. And you… you that holds my tears, will be given the authority to bring judgment of all life that makes a home on this world for centuries to come.”
Among the array of emotions that flowed through you, you felt its grateful pride surge through you.
A draconic pride that will leave its mark on you.
You had hoped it was a bad dream — a childish nightmare, no matter how unheard of it was among the divinity like you.
You hoped that the constriction in your loving heart was a jest in poor taste, that it was just a passing act of scare that you will laugh at. But as your eyes gazed at your magnum opus, your heart nearly shattered into a million little pieces.
The waters that were intimately connected to your essence, your very being, was tainted with anguish and anger. You can feel the hardships that started to brew from a few tiny nicks of pain in your heart. Teyvat was quite literally anchored to you through the primordial waters that flowed through it.
And as it continued to suffer contamination from something foreign, your heart further corroded into something that inflicted pain. You can feel the blood that soaked into the waters cry for desperation, you can feel the way it boiled with so much thirst for vengeance against whatever caused the first tragedy on Teyvat in the first place.
You placed full faith on the seven sovereigns, you had given them blessings that will aid them to guard your precious creation, but you could feel the tinge of betrayal flow through your veins when you threw a quick glance and saw Nibelung seeking something far more dangerous to defend their realm.
Something not from Teyvat. Something you know the laws that you placed which granted autonomy would reject and inflict sorrow upon those that were affected by it.
You fell into a state of unrest, pained with the grief of betrayal and longing for those that fought to protect your very own creation. A part of your mind condemns you for placing such a burden on your creations that cannot be better than outworld creatures that transcend them. But another part of you screams genuine belief to those you have tasked, that they will prevail and honor your simple wish.
Normally a couple of decades was nothing to you — as it could pass as quick as a mere minute, but to experience excruciating pain that throbbed like a vile tumor on your heavenly being was not something to sneeze at. Your heart ached for so many decades as you watched the sovereigns fall before those that intruded in your lovely creation.
And as it stole the authorities of the sovereigns, like a widow bereft its lover, you were forced into a state of slumber, lasting for centuries to come.
The new world thrives with lush life, creatures alike living as though its lives weren’t owed to the slumbering deity that was consumed with so much grief after all the tragic events that happened since its arrival on your world.
Perhaps it was the gentle mercy granted upon you that you stayed asleep when it parted a new realm for humanity’s arrival. When it was challenged by someone of the same nature, resulting to more catastrophic devastation that marred your heart with more fresh scars while you slept.
Perhaps it was best that you were unconscious as your closed eyes poured out tears endlessly that would sure tire you out for years as it happened.
And perhaps it was its atonement for the damage it caused you when you woke up and saw your Teyvat as something entirely new. Something that you didn’t create, something… completely alien.
Your pride as a divine creator was shaken, but you were quick to brush it off, wanting to see just how much your precious world was defiled and turned into something you know would never pass up as befitting into your standards. It was admittedly unbecoming of you, to turn your nose up against a creation, you always held some form of admiration and appreciation towards anything. You loved — and loved so much that you had to create to share it with your creations.
But Teyvat was once your magnum opus, it was… yours. It bathed in your heavenly tears, it felt every caress of your hands as you molded it into something you called your greatest masterpiece eons ago. You broke into a sweat, slaved away for the sake of your satisfaction upon completion, and when you finished it, you cried from happiness alone.
You descended, the flurry of stardust in your divine robes coagulating into the familiar silken robes that you wore whenever you would visit the seven sovereigns.
How many years have you been asleep? Dreaming up a reality where you shared a meal with the humongous and serpentine Dragon of Verdure, where you watched the Dragon King roar with pride, and where you exchanged the most insightful and heartfelt conversations with the Dragon of Water — the one that held your tears.
The grass underneath your bare feet feels as though it had a million stories to tell you, that among those years you’ve been forced into a slumber, you had missed a good chunk of what made Teyvat into this.
But the familiarity of the empty landscape was enough to urge you to keep going forth.
And that same familiarity ended the moment your eyes landed on fallen structures — ones you’ve never seen before. You can decipher that it once stood at a towering height, just from pillars that could squash your tiny mortal form with ease should it fall at the slightest disturbance.
You could feel a sense of tyranny from these structures, a tyranny broken by a hope from perhaps the creatures that felt trapped by it. You may have been asleep when it happened, but you can almost see how the tyranny of the past ruler of this place fell against the unity of those who longed freedom.
“Freedom… huh…” You murmured softly and a breeze rustled the grass beneath you. A lone leaf from the many trees landed on your hair, prompting you to take it and look at it.
You wondered how the Dragon of Verdure was fairing. If it had the same authority over the luscious life of Dendro as it did before.
Your feet continued to take you somewhere else, as though it had a sense of where to go. You never questioned it — as alien as Teyvat was to you now, it was still your world. And as long as the primordial waters are around, it stays anchored with you.
It didn’t take long before you ended up before a civilization — one you have never seen before when you descended before it came to challenge the seven sovereigns. Your eyes widened at the sight, pupils dilating as you watched humanity flourish and thrive within that patch of rock where a city sat.
Never had you expected to wake up to the sight of humans thriving in your world where there was once none.
Your sense of cautiousness dropped in a quick second and you took yourself towards it, foot against the hard cobblestone bridge as you walked towards the walls of this… civilization.
If you looked odd approaching this city in such a state, then you were certain they brushed it off as the guards welcomed you with a smile.
“Weary traveler, welcome to Mondstadt, the City of Freedom, blessed by our beloved Anemo Archon, Barbatos himself!”
For the first time since you had woken up, you felt the same overwhelming sense of love and tenderness as you were welcomed with living mortals, living in your creation like it was a normal occurrence for them.
Never had you known that humanity, no matter how it came upon your world, could be so beautiful.
And just like the day you met that beloved Vishap of yours, you wept.
“You sure know a lot of things about this place! Paimon could even say that you’re far more knowledgeable than Zhongli could be!”
Your laugh rang through the streets of Fontaine, angelic and seeming like a song from the heavens itself.
It had been so many years — dare you say centuries even, since you first descended after sleeping for so long with all the catastrophic events that has happened. You had traveled far and wide, discovered every single hidden civilization from the time you were asleep, learned every little conflict that happened.
You had to do the hard part of reading through every ancient tome that had a different language with each ancient civilization, but filling in the gaps was much easier. Despite it being your creation, the mere fact that you gave it autonomy only meant it wasn’t always subservient to you. It had its own laws even if you were the very being that gave those laws.
It was a refreshing change, quite frankly. Teyvat treated you like any other mortal and you could see and experience how humanity managed to adapt to the laws of your creation. It was honestly tear-jerking. You may not be the one that introduced humanity — rather it was the one that caused devastation to you and your dragons, but it was nonetheless still an endearing sight that you cherished.
You had to relearn Teyvat’s new history as it began embarking on a journey as a new world, where humans thrived and dominated, where beings in a mortal body but with a higher threshold, power, and purpose called gods were the ones to govern instead of the elemental sovereigns.
Somehow throughout it all, it felt as though your world was no longer yours.
But the waters ring familiarity, as it held your feelings from all those years ago. And now it’s far more potent in the Land of Hydro that you were currently on as you accompanied the blonde traveler that gained infamy across the nations you too journeyed in the past.
You felt for them, much like you before, they had to learn the secrets of this world. Only that they had to do it blind, while you managed to fill in the blanks of the tragic past of this world. And as much as you’d like to play the hero, since your descent after your sleep, you have learned to let everything play out on its own.
“I’m not one to claim superiority over Mister Zhongli’s prowess. Surely he knows far more than I do,” you deny with a genuine conviction. You learned he was the oldest of all archons, and have a better grasp of the world than you do when you were asleep.
“Mm. Let’s just call it quits and say you and him are even!” The tiny floating guide chirped, clapping in satisfaction after her own little conclusion.
You only nodded, conceding to her whims before finding the traveler walking up to you and giving you a serving of fish and chips and a double of serving for Paimon. You thanked them kindly and they only offered you a polite smile and a nod.
“Oh! Right! We should be heading off to pick up some bounty for more mora! Are you coming, [Name]?” Paimon asked, looking at you.
You caught their gaze and shook your head, “I think I’d like to take a walk around for a moment. I’ll see you two in awhile.” You said with the same unwavering smile that offered nothing but fondness for either of the two.
With a nod from them, off they went to Euphrasie to hound her for more bounty and its fruitful rewards.
You walked through the streets, basking in the noise of every call from every vendor within the side of the street, indulging the bustling nature of the busybodies in Fontaine, and savoring the air of nostalgia that perhaps only you can understand and feel.
Your feet halted at the remote parts of Palais Mermonia, admiring the flowers while you embraced the sense of familiarity that coursed through your veins. It was a welcome feeling above all, as it was the same feeling when you first truly experienced happiness.
And what luck it was when the Iudex himself was passing by for a quick break, to take a tiny breather from the suffocating throes of workload that was hurled on him as one of his many responsibilities.
You perked up when you heard a pair of footsteps echo within the cavernous structure of the Palais Mermonia and you looked over your shoulder.
Suddenly, that nostalgic feeling increased and your heart throbbed and ached with so much longing.
Suddenly, the breeze felt like it did centuries ago.
Suddenly, the hard concrete floor felt like the gentle grass beneath you.
And suddenly, the man behind you felt like the bearer of your tears.
You took a moment before facing him and found a smidgen of confusion and surprise that broke through his otherwise stoic expression. You had heard his impartiality and people reveled in him, word of the mouth was that the great Iudex, Mister Neuvillette himself, was the very symbol of Justice in Fontaine.
You didn’t know whether or not it was a wasted chance, but it never occurred to you to even ask if he kept his promise.
To come back with the faintest memories of you.
Instead, you smiled, bowed so gracefully and respectfully to him like any other mortal who have heard of his achievements would.
But you had to give him a few words yourself; just for old time’s sake.
“Look at you now…”
Your voice, much like millions of years ago, held the same sweetness and fondness, honeyed to perfection that it can lull anyone within earshot to a sense of comfort and warmth. Your voice beckoned him to come closer.
And he does.
“You’re thriving so beautifully… living among humanity…”
You could see the way his breath hitch in his throat, and you stifle a tiny laugh and suppressed the nostalgic fondness and love in your heart that was close to bursting at the seams.
“You did well.”
And you left him then and there, like a soft breeze in passing, in search of the traveler and their tiny emergency sustenance, without you knowing, that for once, it wasn’t you who cried.
It’s true, the new Teyvat felt alien to you.
It is no longer your world, but theirs — they, the humanity that staked its claim and lived for generations, they, the creatures that survived every catastrophic event that struck this world, and they… the beings that claim dominion over it.
And as this world’s creator, you would do well to enact the safety of the life it nurtured, even if you were overshadowed by the very being that devastated you.
After all, with all the love in you, it would be hard not to share it with the world you once knew.

as i said im gonna do another post about exploration and worldbuing of the new natlan area. and lets start with how fucking barren this area is. i don't puzzles, but like content. compare to any other "divided" area - chasm, remuria, enka. all of them have side quests in addition to main quests, all of them have secondary narratives, npcs at the very least. in this natlan area all we have is 1 (ONE) eugenicist dragon possessing different roombas, its all about the main quest which is garbage (see my post about plot)
this directly affects worldbuilding. this area is supposed to be sacred city of dragon civilization at its peak and what we get from it? nothing! well, we get transcripts of work meeting of like 10 dragon bureaucrats. and most of their interactions is telling each to shut up about problems bc if they were stronger, they would not have these problems. and like you know what, im not even gonna complain about quality of that, pyro dragons were a group chat of toxic dark souls fans telling each other to git gud, SURE. the problem is not even WHAt they are talking about, but that this one group chat is the ONLY content we have. where all other dragons?? did this city only had like 10 bureaucrats calling themselves Lords and no one else??
compare and contrast to enkanomiya. It had a main plot line, but in addition, it had a side plot about sun children, the kid rulers, manipulated by adults, their personalities, their tragedies. i think this could be equated content-wise to dragon chat logs, there about as many sun children about whom we also learn only from the walls of text from random exploration description. BUT. first, sun children get an actual side quest. second, there are a lot more people we meet and read about in enka. There are many side quests that have nothing to do with main story, there are politics with inazuma, hidden celestia lore, khaenriah envoys trying to steal that lore, rebellions, inventors, priests, drug dealers, etc. Enkanomiya feels like real place because it has many characters and complex interactions between all these characters and factions, whether if we meet them as shades or just read about them. meanwhile, the dragon civilization had like. 10 dragons in zoom meetings and one pyro sovereign and thats it. the worldbuilding is literally non existent.
oh, another moment that got me was. sigh. from the start of natlan i was saying that saurians are obviously much less intelligent that normal vishaps. and ppl were writing 3 pages of text arguing with me. now we have canon confirmation that they ARE muchy less intelligent. but their explanation for that is one sentence ffrom dragon eugenicist that celestia dropped nails on natlan, which made the land more dangerous, so dragons de-evolved to survive. like???? since when losing intelligence makes it easier to survive in dangerous places????? this is such a blatantly lazy excuse and it frankly discourages me from even thinking about larger genshin lore bc if they can just wave off entire nation of dragons losing intelligence in one stupid sentence, then whats the point to take anything seriously.

Each Region's Dragons & Archons
So it's no secret that the Dragons of Teyvat used to hold sovereignty over the word before the rise of the Archons. As a result of that, some relationships between the Archons and their designated dragons are either amicable, nonexistent, or hostile. This post is a refresher and then delves into some of my theories on Focalors's relationship with Neuvillette based on the Fontaine trailer seeing as it's been revealed (leaked) that Neuvillette is the Hydro Dragon!
Monstadt - Dvalin & Venti

Their relationship was strained because Dvalin feared being forgotten into obscurity. He felt a deep betrayal at the lack of acknowledgement on his behalf by the people of Monstadt and therefore fell prey to the *Abyss Order's schemes.
Venti, however, considers Dvalin a friend, one he cares about dearly. He would go through hell and back to make sure the dragon is okay and that they're on the same page about things. Very obvious seeing as he did throughout the very first Archon Quest.
Relationship overall: Deep trust and friendship
Liyue - Azhdaha & Zhongli

Azhdaha was initially buried deep in the bedrock beneath Liyue, with a soul that spoke out to Rex Lapis, so much so that Rex unveiled him from the deep layers of rock and fulfilled his wish to see the world.
Rex Lapis carved out Azhdaha's form into a great dragon and blessed him with eyes. The two explored Teyvat together and fought together. They were great, dear friends. They had made a contract that should Azhdaha bring havoc to order in Liyue, he would be sealed away once again.
They were so close that Azhdaha was the only one who could call Rex Lapis 'Morax' with fondness
The passage of time brings about the erosion of time, and Azhdaha was not immune. As a result of the erosion, Azhdaha forgot about his contract with Rex Lapis and with the overexploitation of The Chasm by the people of Liyue, his condition worsened and he broke the contract, forcing Rex to intervene and seal him away.
In Zhongli's story quest, he re-seals Azhdaha and is himself moved by the bittersweet goodbye he has to say to him until they meet again someday.
Relationship overall: Bittersweet friends
Inazuma - Orobashi & Ei

Essentially, Orobashi is the reason Enkanomiya and Watatsumi Island exist
Initially Orobashi fled to the depths of Enkanomiya to flee the rule of Teyvat after being unable to defeat Ei or the "golden god" (assumed to be Rex)
An explorer happened upon Orobashi and asked it to be a god and it did, ending the rule of the Sunchildren (puppet rulers) and reducing the threat of Bathysmal Vishaps
The people of Enkanomiya then co-worshipped Orobashi because of this
Orobashi was preparing for them to resurface to Inzauma, however it happened upon a book that detailed a history of Teyvat that Celestia intended to be buried
Orobashi sacrificed parts of its body to create Watatsumi island and also
Because of this forbidden knowledge Orobashi and Watatsumi Island were found guilty of profanity and deceiving living souls
Orobashi took all the transgressions upon himself and was slain by Ei while Watatsumi Island was taken back under the rule of Celestia
Relationship overall: Hostile/Nonexistent
Sumeru - Apep & Nahida (and Rukkhadevata)

Apep despises the Archons and humanity because they rely on Celestia for their power
Originially, Apep claimed Sumeru as its domain
Apep, along with the other dragons of old, fought against the Heavenly Principles for the right to rule over Teyvat. They lost and thus, power over Sumeru was given to King Deshret and Rukkhadevata.
Because King Deshret was essentially the cause of the forbidden knowledge spread, Apep also got corrupted by it as a result, which further amplified her disdain for Celestia, the Archons, and humanity
However, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata had actually created a backup plan to help save Apep by concentrating her elemental energy into Fire Seeds, she didn't get to use them herself though (rip)
In Nahida's second story quest she attempts to reason with Apep and eventually the two reach an agreement that Nahida can help her (basically Nahida's a sweetheart and proved she would do anything to save Apep, including sacrifice herself)
Apep still harbors disdain for the Heavenly Principles but sees no reason to wipe out the Archons or humanity, she decides to simply watch and see how far things go
Relationship overall: Tolerable
Fontaine - Neuvillette & Focalors (Theories)

Based on the trailer I am certain of one thing: these two have a deal of some sort that allows Neuvillette to retain a semblance of jurisdiction over Fontaine while also maintaining Focalors's ultimate power
According to the Genshin Impact Wiki: "A prophecy in Enkanomiya claims that a new Dragon of Water will be born in human form, as these dragon-lords require a "pure" vessel and the Bathysmal Vishaps, originally Hydro, had become "impure" when they evolved to harness the powers of Electro and Cryo", so my guess is he's a descendant or reincarnation of the Dragon of Water that was born shortly after the Archon War.
These two have entirely different temperaments. While Neuvillette is a stickler for law and order, opting to rule with an iron thumb in court, Focalors thrives on chaos, craves it even. This could actually lead to a clash or twist in Fontaine.
Neuvillette is still subservient to Focalors as a result of their agreement.
It's very possible that Arlecchino will play the role of whispering ideas into Neuvillette's ear, causing him to consider trying to defeat Focalors and take jurisdiction himself OR
He could actually consider Focalors a formidable foe that he respects and instead fools the Fatui into thinking that they've got him under their thumb only to use that against them to help Focalors keep her Gnosis?
IDK man I'm sensing a double edged sword kinda relationship with these two, we'll see!
Relationship overall: Dubious...

on our fates alight -- roadblocks
(takes place following the events of Check and Provoke [part 2 is coming].)
Vishap lies defeated by Halone and Valefor during the first Steps of Faith, but as the Dravanian general takes his last breath, a dragonkiller is fired upon Valefor, badly injuring her and breaking Riven's Prime...
----------
The Knights-Dragoon had taken charge of the strange Dominant's safety, Aymeric learned from a battered Handelhoup. The minute the young woman had stabilized on the field, Estinien had whisked her away, declaring the stranger under the Order's protection. As the Dominant had also saved the lives of several dragoons during the battle, Estinien's men were more than willing to buck heads with the church.
Hopefully either Augustine or Mathye will awaken—Halone with them, and intercede. The goddess declaring ownership of the situation would be another roadblock for anyone wanting to capture the Eikon—and hopefully, buy enough time for the Dominant to awaken and explain her presence in Coerthas. Not that Aymeric was complaining. Estinien was still effectively grounded, and Halone had been extremely hard-pressed.
"My lord." Lucia's voice broke into Aymeric's musings. With a start, the elezen realized his second-in-command was standing in front of his desk, her arms crossed and a scowl on her face. A tray of still-steaming food was on top of his paperwork.
"Ah." And with that, Aymeric obediently began to tuck into the meal. Stew, bread and cider—a simple meal, but enough to start renewing his flagging energy. By the time he had finished, the Lord High Commander felt considerably more refreshed, his facilities restored enough to handle whatever other possible Fury-forsaken problems were spawning next.
"Have there been any changes?" He asked, wiping his mouth with a napkin.
"They're all still out of it, but my people may have come up with an identity for our guest." Lucia replied, handing over a leather folio. Aymeric took it, rising from his seat. Untying the string, he withdrew several papers, the seal of Limsa Lominsa bright red under the candlelight.
"These were taken off an Eikon-hunter who was berthing in Camp Dragonhead." She began, watching as Aymeric started to intently read the pages. "Do you remember the rumors some moons back? That there'd been a Priming dangerously close to the city?"
"That was her?"
"Valefor. A brand new Eikon, unknown to anyone. The hunter decided to track her—as she fled across the ocean to Thanalaan. Lost her trail, then picked it up shortly after something—or someone, took out a imperial company near Horizon."
"What made him come here?" Aymeric inquired, looking up from the papers.
"He lost her again, but found out that the Scions of the Seventh Dawn were heading for Mor Dhona. As they're proclaimed Eikon-defenders, he suspected that they were hunting a Dominant, and decided to follow them on the off-chance that they'd lead him to his quarry. Turns out he was right, as he found her trail in Mor Dhona again."
"She probably realized she was still being followed, and so came here." Aymeric's voice was thoughtful. "Where she more or less ran into Estinien and myself, but we couldn't spare the time because the attack was all but upon us."
"I've sent word to the Silver Fuller, but it will take some time for him to arrive." Lucia arched an eyebrow as Aymeric considered the papers. Then he tossed them into the fireplace, watching as the flames rose merrily at the offering.
"What's your take on the situation?"
"…I'm…inclined to be suspicious." Lucia began. "I know some are thinking this could be some elaborate Dravanian plot. But…I doubt Nidhogg would have laid such a scheme, let alone his mate and offspring. Those dragons saw her as an enemy. And…"
"And?" Aymeric prompted.
"From the glimpse I caught of her when Estinien was bringing her in…" Lucia trailed off. She thought she'd been looking at a child—memories of the story she'd heard from a knight of the Canonness Aurora flashing through her mind—
"I thought it was another child." Too late Lucia realized she'd spoken aloud. "But…she's not. She's young, however. Perhaps over her majority. And she was…too pale. Her armor seemed to be hanging off her in places, as if it was too big for her."
"That matches what we saw." Aymeric replied. "Pale—and I noticed the armor too. Not too big as in the wrong size, but as if she'd lost a significant amount of weight. It didn't stop her from ripping strips off Estinien, however."
'You absolute ass of a man! You left me locked up in here with these cretins talking about 'just wait right here I'll come back'. They wanted to eat me! Do you honestly think I was going to wait in this cell for whenever the hell you decided to waltz back in, pretty boy?! How did you know I wasn't going to end up in the pot or on some spit?!'
'Why are you yelling at me?! I came back, didn't I?!'
"What was your impression, ser?" Lucia asked.
"Aside from the sheer rage?" Aymeric replied. He exhaled, crossing his arms. "Feisty. Wary. Clearly could fight—and that's not just based on the past several hours. Her gear and weapons showed heavy use, but also had been properly maintained."
"And the ability to stun ser Wrymblood speechless." Aymeric chuckled at Lucia's statement.
"Do you know, I have never seen him completely taken aback like that?" He said, gesturing. "All he could do was just stand there and gawp—mouth open, and she's lighting into him like a fishwife!" Lucia snorted at the mental image, putting a hand to her mouth. Aymeric chuckled again, and then sighed. Turning around, he gazed at the fire, the papers now blackened ash and soot.
"Escort the hunter out of our territory." He said. "There's going to be enough problems as is with certain parties trying to invoke claims, I don't want an international incident."
"Ser." Lucia saluted.
"Also find suitable men to assist the Knights-Dragoon. If anyone says anything, inform them that it is my belief that Halone should be the one to issue judgment in this matter. Our presence is to ensure there is no dishonorable actions taken against one who willingly risked her life to save us, despite the fact we are strangers."
"That's not going to stop the Ward for very long."
"I know." Aymeric answered. He inhaled. "But I'm praying it'll be enough of a buffer until either Augustine or Mathye wake up, and with them, Halone. Or if She stirs and can get one of their bodies moving. The Archbishop and the Ward will dare not do anything if She places this new Dominant under Her protection." He hoped.
"I'll see to it." Lucia said.

Every time I remember that there is a possibility that Neuvillette can't actually change into a dragon form because of Vishaps evolution that makes them impure it makes me depressed ngl
I hope if Neuvillette gets a second story quest he will visit Enkanomiya or at least interact with some Vishap. There are quite a few Vishaps that appear at Loch Urania,i wonder if they are waiting for Neuvillette or if they have already met him... Not to mention it is a hydro vishap too... Maybe they are the "loyal" ones. Maybe there are some that hold grudge and resentment for making their lord reincarnation "impure"

I'm so sorry, I need to go into Lore...
So... there isn't much power scaling in lore right. Venti says of himself he's the weakest Archon and that's kind of it (I think he's lying btw, but that's beside the point). I think Nahida and Rukkhadevata don't have any show cases of their raw power/strength, I think creating the Rain Forest is Rukkhadevata's doing. We don't yet have much info on Egeria and Furina. Makoto wasn't particularly powerful but a great strategist and good with her people, Makoto was the brains, and Ei the brawns. Ei's biggest achievement probably is killing Orobashi and cutting Yashiori Island up in the process. I assume she's slain a few other gods too during the Archon war, but I thinkkkk, there has been no explicit mention of it. But perhaps she's quite near the top. Murata in Natlan... I could imagine they might come out on top, because sheer force/power is a pyro thing. We don't really know anything about the Tsaritsa as far as I know.
And then there's Morax...
terraformed Guyun Stone Forest by hurling mountains at other gods
terraformed/raised Mt. Tianheng after Liyue was flooded so his people would be safe
terraformed Jeuyun Karst
one shot some random god that abused the fuck out of Xiao
ruthlessly killed numerous other gods (confirmed in lore)
dug out some random geo dragon, giving him sight like it's no big deal
creates life that somehow can flattens mountains (mind you how special the art of khemia seems to be for creating life, looking at you albedo who's oh so powerful for creating crystal flies no shade I love you bby)
was still more than confident to take on Osial, should Liyue not have been able to protect itself
BUT, ya know what had him struggle?
Azhdaha. Zhongli does state that he had a hard time confronting the eroded Azhdaha, "let alone seal him away" (Zhongli's own words). He called 3 other Adepti to help and they still struggled, so in the end Azhdaha's benevolence won, remembered the contract he had with Morax and he let himself get sealed away willingly. And see, the thing is; while Azhdaha has quite a few titles that mighttttt imply that he is the Geo Dragon Sovereign - Like, he's refered to as "Sealed King of the Geo Dragons", "Dragon King", "Lord of Vishaps", which is in line with how the Hydro Dragon is refered to, as well as the other sovereigns. (Zhongli does refer to him as THE Earth Dragon) - there's no confirmation yet. But you could probably make it a case that he's at the very least related, or part of the same race as the Sovereigns.
WHICH GIVES YOU TWO OPTIONS,
If you think he's the Geo Dragon, then - Geo Dragon without his full draconic Authority still overpowers an insanely powerful god + Gnosis + 3 Adepti.
Or
He's "just" some minor Geo Dragon (Possibly similar'ish to Dvalin), that still overpowers a god + Gnosis + 3 Adepti, which should speak volume about the sheer power of a Sovereign that has their full power.
... So like, I don't doubt that if Neuvillette gets his full power back by the end of 4.2's Archon quest, he's very much dwarfing Zhongli and would be, at least among the currently known/playable characters, the most powerful one.

Part 2: The Things They Usually Mention in Passing (1)
Please note that this is going to be multi-part series of AU notes and flash fictions depicting a “what-if” scenario:
What if the Cataclysm was stopped earlier and Khaenri’ah was spared from Celestia’s wrath, despite their sins 500 years ago... for a price?
------------
Khaenri’ah Today: Notes on the Nation from Below (personal transcripts of reporter M. Seléne of "The Steambird" in Tunigi Hollow, Sumeru):
Khaenri’ah is a powerful nation that resides within continental underground cave system of Teyvat. It is located underneath the forests and lakes that connect the nations of Fontaine, Sumeru, Liyue, and Mondstadt, with guarded entry/exit points in such regions.
It has a population of 3.3 million, with 5%-8% living abroad all over Teyvat.
Known for its vast technological and alchemical advancement, the kingdom is often a hub for much of Teyvat’s education, development, and trade in medicine, biochemistry, robotics, and industrial machinery. This was all thanks to the grace and guidance granted by its god, Lord Purson, who is known to be quite hands-on in governing and protecting his people. At least, this is according to the Khaenrians themselves, but as their god hasn’t made many appearances outside of his nation, I personally cannot comment much on the matter.
However, there were a few interesting rumors and conspiracy theories that were circulating recently about their rather elusive history. Here’s a few of the most popular ones (relatively speaking, as only a handful of people speak about it, let alone know about it):
- Khaenri’ans not having a god before 500 years ago and perhaps may have resented gods in general.
- Their god was once mortal and perhaps may not have power at all (possible? Lord Purson, though a recluse compared to the other Archons, has been around since the Archon War. And records show that his power was and continues to be partly responsible for keeping Abyss at bay) I
- They were descended from dragons and vishaps (this seems a bit too far-fetched. Four-pointed irises don’t make slits! )
- Khaenriah was briefly led by outlanders that were supposedly not from this world (aliens? How intriguing!)
Try as I might, I could never find any evidence of truth about them. None of the historical records, first-hand and second-hand accounts, and even archaeological evidence both in and out Khaenri’ah support any of them. Hmm... I do wonder if this is a matter of too many records were lost during the Cataclysm or if they were deliberately expunged instead.
Either way, the fact that rumors like this even exist at all does bode some intriguing threads I could follow in uncovering whatever truth is hidden in them. Hopefully, it would finally lead to some interesting stories for me to write!

I gotta admit, for as much as I adore Neuvifuri’s writing and dynamic, I am not a fan of how their designs are so similar.
It’s not that I think they’re exactly the same or that they look like they’re related, it’s just that one of my favorite parts of shipping is seeing contrasting character designs paired up together. Like with Huxiao, not only are their aesthetics incredibly different but everything down to their color schemes contrast each other.
Then with Neuvifuri, they hit the exact same beats of predominantly white/pale hair with blue accents wearing a dark blue suit. Of course the details are different, but still I almost wish that they gave one of them a different hair color or a different outfit.
I think there’s multiple ways to see it, hoyo’s currently… honestly a bit lazy and messy designs could be a way to see it (I mean good lord are HSR’s designs lackluster in those departments)
or it could also be an intentionally matching thing. I heard some theories about which of the two have decided to wear matching suits and I’ve loved to hear about them. Was it Neuvillette who wanted to dress like Furina or was it Furina that decided they should dress accordingly to exhibit their status as the absolute authorities of Fontaine? like a king and a queen wearing similar purples and reds. OR it could also be nods to lore, with how Neuvillette’s design has very strong callbacks to bathysmal vishaps while Furina has callbacks to Oceanids, and Oceanids are based on Egeria who was created as a replacement for the Hydro Sovereign, so it’s almost like Furina’s design is meant to parallel Neuvi’s as a copy, but this one feels a bit reach-y
I personally found my tastes tend to skew towards whatever ship I’m hyperfixating on, like before huxiao I was like “I MUST have height difference! height difference is the thing ever!!!” but then I got super into huxiao and was like. well size isn’t everything… then after I got super into huxiao I was like “I MUST have opposites attract in all parts of their character! contrast is the thing ever!!!” now look where I am with neuvifuri… but lmfao I do wish they had more differentiations with their designs in at least the hair color. I know Neuvi’s is a grayish color with no hue while Furina has her very light blues but it’s not enough to stand out. So I guess u could say I’m not a fan either but I also don’t think it’s enough to diminish my enjoyment of them too

Sneak peek
Platonic! Yandere! Neuvillette x GN! Child! Furina! Traumatized! Reader is in the working.
A few minutes later, he climbed the stairs to the top floor of Palais Mermonia and stood at the door of their room.
Ceasth and Enghien, two melusines, that were guarding the door (recently, Neuvillette find it impossible, if not outright preposterous, to let humans guard [Y/N]'s room or kid themselves.
Like Lord [Y/N] were moving something.

HIIIIII!!!! FIRST POST 😘😘😘 HAPPY NEW YEEEEEEEEEEEARRRRRRR
-this is about is a post about neuvillette and somebody that he cannot remember except for this question I have no idea if I want to make this Kokomo x neuvillette or reader x neuvillette And I want you guys to decide!! If anyone sees this and would like more of my fanfics immediately tell me! (Or interact♡♡♡♡♡♡♡!)
If anyone likes me to continue this series please tell me!
-2024 1.1
—CALL ME KAILY!
🫧💧🫧💧🫧💧🫧💧🫧💧🫧💧🫧💧🫧💧

The question rings in neuvillette’s ears to this day…a question from past life that a vishap once asked in his past life. He has no memory from his past life, all memory has been wiped out…then why does the question remain?
He can't remember anything from his past life, truly nothing. Then why? He wonders why does this question remain? Why did the vishap said it? Why is it so important? Why does he hears this question everytime he thinks of the primordial sea?
Maybe he's asking too much why? Rather then who?
Who asked this question? Who had such arrogance to ask him that? After all it was a vishap and no vishap would ever dare to call him other than “your highness” “lord” and many more…but this vishap was different they asked a much personal question…that only friend would dare to ask
But there are no records of the hydro sovereign to have friends…after all who would have such arrogance to even try to befriend him?
And who would even dare to call him “dear”? If it were a old lady it would be understandable, but the person sounded really young
Maybe he has the wrong questions again…
Was it really a vishap?

Some interesting quotes i found while researching genshin lore- plus my thoughts
( spoilers for genshin 4.2 act V (5) of the archon quest )
Byakuyakoku Collection-
'When the eternal throne of the heavens came, the world was made anew. Then the true lord, the Primordial One, came forth and did battle against the seven terrifying sovereigns, dragon-lords of the old world.'
'The Primordial One may have been Phanes. It had wings and a crown, and was birthed from an egg, androgynous in nature. But for the world to be created, the egg's shell had to be broken. However, Phanes, the Primordial One, used the eggshell to seperate the "universe" and the "microcosm of the world.'
( Rhinedottir was described with both female and male prounouns in the latest archon quest, plus they created many very powerful abyssal beasts: Durin, Elynas, Rifthounds, etc.
also the Narwhal which was much stronger than Neuvillette until he gained his power back, which means they were far stronger than the archons in general which makes me think Rhinedottir = a shade, because from what im getting from Byakuyakoku, Istaroth isnt aligned with Celestia anymore?? because they helped Enkanomiya which was felled by Celestia right?? so not out of possibility for Rhinedottir to also be a similar situation but also possibly Rhine= The Sinner.
i first thought Rhinedottir= Phanes because of the androgynous comment and the use of multiple prounouns for Rhine but rereading the lore makes me think otherwise. )
'a vishap who tranforms into a person to attend a ball, then breaks one of its legs and eventually ends up walking with a cane'
this one just made me think of both the little mermaid and neuvillette so i added it lmao
'according to a prophecy of old, the dragon of water, the ancient lord of vishaps, will definetly descend in the form of a human.'
we were theorising this for aaages and now we know its neuvillette (rip kokomi)
i do find it interesting that this prophecy must have been recorded like between 7000 and 3000 years ago, yet neuvillette was only born 500 years ago, not long after Egeria died and Focalors split her divinity from Furina and placed herself in the oratrice
'dragonheirs of the depths have evolved to wield the power of other elements and have hence lost their purity. as such, the dragon of water will no longer be born from among their ranks.'
again just a neuvillette adjacent quote lmao boi do i love dragons djfksksos
'two special astronomical phenomena of Byakuyakoku- the mirages and the sinshades- were at first indiscriminately referred to as Eidolons and seen as the two sides of the same coin.'
now this one reminded me of the Hydro Eidolons and also the Mirages from the Sumeru desert
i love genshins lore, my adhd brain cannot keep up with, or organise these thoughts coherently enough lmao but i felt like compiling them anyway dkdkssdw
