Twilight Imagines- Benjamin
First Sight
[Masterlist]
Requested by: @twilightlover2007
Summary: in where the Cullens are getting multiple covens together to help them convince the Volturi that Renesmee is not a danger Benjamin spots [Name] and is immediately enamored by her. Even with her two year old daughter. Also finding out they have similar abilities.
I sit in the living room with Bella and Edward as we watch Renesmee play with Athaliah. I cross my arms, holding myself. "How do you feel?" Edward asks me suddenly and I turn to him. "Read my mind." I roll my eyes, he scoffs out a laugh. "I'm asking so you can let it out."
He responds, I look back to the girls. "Yeah, we haven't talked much since you found out about her." Bella chimes into the conversation. I frown for a second.
"It's a weird situation, I don't really know how I feel." I tell them in all honesty. One second Renesmee was a newborn and seconds later she was months old and now she's physically 4 years old.
"I just wish we didn't have to deal with the Volturi. Once again." I hold my head in my hands. Last time we dealt with them was when I turned into a vampire, Athatliah was only 16 months old. They were worried that I would turn Athaliah.
We had to convince them I wouldn't go near her until I had control over my thirst and she wouldn't know anything about us until she was the age of turning or if anything I would fake my death and she'd never see us again. It's something I don't even want to consider. It's something I have 16 years until I have to truly think about. The Volturi believed us when Aro looked into Edward's mind along with mine. Also with the fact that my ability was strong, I would put up a fight. They didn't need any of their men dead.
"I wish that woman just talked to us before running straight to the Volturi. She's also going to get killed." I lift my head back up. Renesmee takes Athaliah over to us and they both smile. I pick up my daughter, placing her on my lap. Edward doing the same with his daughter.
"All right, lovely, it's time for a nap." I stand up. "I'll meet you guys outside." I tell my two best friends before walking upstairs. They have a crib that was originally for Renesmee in Edward's old room. I place Athaliah down. I could tell she was tired so when she started crying I knew it was only for a few minutes.
The first year of her life I cried almost every time she cried. I couldn't handle it. My mom was a huge help since Athaliah's dad left in the beginning of my pregnancy. His parents moved to a whole different state so he didn't have to be a father to our baby. I grieved the relationship in the beginning. I don't really care anymore.
Bella was the only friend I've had ever since giving birth. Other people judged right away. Not Bella. She sometimes would babysit for me if I had to work and no daycare. My mom would pay her as well. Edward then started to help with her. Then he bonded with Athaliah as well. They both became an aunt and uncle to my daughter. I am forever grateful for them.
When her cries stop I snap out of my thoughts. Quietly slipping out of the room. I go downstairs and join everyone outside. Bella and Edward showing the new vampires renesmee's gift. I look off into the distance to see Carlisle and Esme coming our way with three new people. They're from the Egyptian Coven, they drink human blood. I lock eyes with the younger looking man. His eyes were a dark red. They felt entrancing. I couldn't look away. That was until Rosalie comes up to me.
"Could you help me with something?" She asks in a quiet tone, I furrow my eyebrows but nod my head. Following after her. Feeling eyes watch me the entire time. The blonde leads me back into the house where Zafrina, Kachiri, and Senna were standing in our way. "These ladies are from the Amazon coven. They wanted to meet you." Rosalie speaks softly, I place a hand on my chest, confused on why they would want to speak to me. "They've heard of your ability." Emmett tells me, I let out a little 'oh' standing straighter.
"Zafrina likes meeting people similar to her. Having incredible gifts." Kachiri informs me. "What's your gift?" I tilt my head, intrigued. The quiet woman smiles slightly, staring at me. Focusing on something and then suddenly I'm not in the house anymore. I'm back outside. But not our outside. A different place. A place I've never seen before. It was gorgeous.
Then I'm back in the house and I stare at her with wide eyes. "That... was amazing." I tell her, utterly in shock. She grins back to me. "We'd like to see your ability." Kachiri says, I make a face, turning to Rosalie and Emmett who nod their heads for me to do it. "We'd uh, we would have to go outside." I lead the way outside, in front of the porch. The three from the Amazon Coven stand on the porch with Rosalie, Emmett was standing in the door frame.
I smile to them as the cloud above us gets darker than earlier. Their expressions are confused until I bring my arms in the air and it starts raining. It was sprinkling at first then thunder struck. I felt the others crowd around me. I then make it storm. Everyone getting soaked. And then suddenly it stops as I stop focusing on the sky. I take a deep breath. The others begin to clap.
"That's just a tiny bit of what she can do." Emmett roars out, I nod my head sheepishly. "How did you find that out?" One of the Denali sisters ask me. "When I turned, the pain caused a storm. The wind was strong. The weather was insane that night. Later on when I wasn't paying attention and every time I had a huge emotion, a storm began every time. It's a lot easier to control now." I smile as I then make it begin to snow. Renesmee runs up to me with a huge smile. I pick her up so she can play with the snowflakes.
"This is a powerful ability... The Volturi would have no chance against us." Garrett laughs beside Kate who has a tiny smirk on her face. "You could deflect my electricity and make it more powerful." She tells me, lifting one of her hands to show me the electricity coming out of it.
Then everyone begins to talk to one another about it. I place Renesmee down, she holds my hand though instead of running off. I listen outside of the others to see if Athaliah has woken up but her breathing is still slowed. I can tell she's about to wake up. Her naps aren't very long lately.
A person walks up to me, startling me. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." It was the younger looking man from the Egyptian Coven. I wave a hand. "It's alright, I was trying to make sure my daughter was still sleeping." I sigh out, looking down to my niece who was staring up at the man.
"Your daughter?" He asks, looking around. "Her name's Athaliah." I tell him, we begin to walk inside the house, Renesmee sticking by my side because I think she knows we're going to see my girl. "Beautiful name." He compliments, I quietly thank him. His looks are entrancing I can barely focus on what is being said.
It goes silent between us until Renesmee speaks up in a small sweet tone. "He can make tornados, smaller than yours though." I smile down at her. "Really?"
I've only created a tornado once and right as it formed we made it disappear. That was before Renesmee was born though. Of course Emmett told her about it though. "Our gifts are incredibly similar." He tells me. Before he can say anything else though I hear my daughter begin to stir. Her tiny whines sounding out to down here. "Oh, I have to go, I'll be back." I step up the first couple of steps. He stands there, I can tell her wishes to say something though.
Renesmee was already running to the bedroom though. "What's your name?" I ask him.
"Benjamin." He says. I smile. "Beautiful name." I then head up the stairs.
Renesmee is playing with Athaliah through the bars of the crib. I smile, heading over to them and picking up my daughter. "Let's go play downstairs." Renesmee says, taking my hand once again and dragging me back down. Benjamin was still standing there just as he was before I left.
I was glad to be honest. I was hoping he waited for me. "This is Athaliah, Athaliah, meet Benjamin." I bounce her on my hip, pointing to the beautiful man. She tiredly looks to him.
Then suddenly doing grabby hands at him for him to take her. I furrow my eyebrows. It usually takes her a minute to get used to new people. He sticks his hand out, letting her grab onto it. It wasn't enough though she lunges her body forward so he could take her out of my arms. I laugh. "Sorry, you don't have to-"
"I don't mind as long as you don't." He puts his hands out and I shrug my shoulders, handing her over to him. Renesmee watches, a little bit annoyed until Edward comes in and tells her to go with him somewhere. I watch as my daughter puts his face into her hands. I then wondered if that was a good idea looking at his eyes which were red. Meaning he eats humans.
I bit my lip. He looks over to me and I think he can sense my worry. He gives me a short smile and places Athaliah down. She walks back to me, hugging my legs. She's still waking up.
Later in the night Bella and I were getting the girls to sleep. Athaliah sprawled out, her arm going over Renesmee's torso. She's holding onto her hand. I look up to see Bella looking at someone. I trace where. It was Benjamin who was sitting beside Jacob. He was staring at me though. "He seems enamored by you." She whispers, careful not to wake the kids. I snort out a laugh. "Yeah, okay. He wants a single mom." I joke, rolling my eyes.
"I mean the whole time he's been here he's been staring at you. He keeps trying to talk with you and he's brought you up to us every chance he gets. Asking about your ability." She informs me and I give her a look. "Yeah, he's interested in my ability. Not me." I sit up straight, crossing my legs.
"You're so oblivious, [Name]." She comments, sitting up as well. We eventually get up listening to Vladimir and Stefan talk about how they despise the Volturi and why. They were characters, that was for sure.
I sit down by the fire, a log was already there but no one else was there. They all went to different areas of the woods. I stared at the flames wondering how tomorrow was going to go. Someone sat beside me but neither of us spoke. I didn't even move my head to see.
"[Name]." The person speaks up after moments of silence. I hum out in response. "I uh I've never been left this speechless before. I don't know what to say around you." It was Benjamin, I smile to myself before turning to face him. "I'm boring, I apologize." I say, now just observing his features and I wonder what he was like as a human. If he was always this perfect.
"No, you're not at all. You make me nervous. It's a feeling I don't think I've ever experienced." His eyes lock with mine and I badly want to look away. But I can't. I'm stuck in place. "When did you turn?" I slightly change the subject. "1815." My eyes widen to his answer. He begins to laugh at my reaction. "Sorry, that was rude." I rub my hands together, finally looking away due to embarrassment.
"I expected it, when did you turn?"
"Last year."
"A newborn practically and you're that in control of your ability?" He seemed to be surprised.
"I couldn't control my ability completely until maybe six years after turning." He then ignites fire from his pointer finger. "You control the elements?" I ask in amazement. "And you control the weather." He states.
"Our abilities are incredibly similar." I laugh, excited. Watching the flames on his finger tip before he closes his fist and it goes away.
For hours we talk about our abilities, about his life before turning. I do the same. Telling him a bit about Athaliah. It never felt like a bad subject bringing her up like it usually does with men.
He actually asks about her and that's where I feel he doesn't want to be with me but to be friends.
"Your daughter truly has your looks." We both look to my sleeping daughter who is still sprawled out. I smile. "Thank you. She's my everything." I tell him.
"I can tell."
"I'm interested in getting to know you more." Benjamin says, this time he cautiously takes my hand into his. Making sure I was okay with it before gripping a little tighter. "What do you want to know?" I nervously ask.
"No, I mean courting you. You being mine, me being yours." He explains, I scrunch my nose before saying. "it might be forward, I know this. But you, seeing you, talking to you today. It only makes me want to be yours more."
"What about Athaliah, she comes with, we're a package deal. I'm a single mother. She's human, you eat off... humans." I take my hand back, now giving him a serious expression. It feels crazy but I feel the same way. I feel so strongly for him and I can't lose it but I also have to put my child first.
"I'll love her as my own. I'll eat animals for you both. I'll learn." He assures me, I pause for a moment.
"This feels crazy." I laugh out. "But I'll give it a try. I'm interested in getting to know you more." Even though we don't know what's going to happen tomorrow I don't care. I deserve to be happy even for a little bit.

You've been good. You've been diligent. You've been following the rules of the coven.
To not share the gift with anyone, a secret kept under oath, hand over the binding of an old spell book, its surface course and rough, centuries of hands- young, old, powerful and weak, all part of the history of how that book came to be.
When you started dating Eddie, you were summoned, warned by your coven to keep the magic away from your human boyfriend, hidden under a veil of thin shame disguised as indifference.
And six months went by, then a year. You thought you were safe, you thought you'd gotten through the worst part of keeping the secret.
You deluded yourself. He loves you so much, there's no reason he would leave you, not even for a secret as big as yours. You've put protection spells around everything that involved actual magic in your house, the potion cabinet you kept in the hallways as decoration, the spell books hidden under a floorboard in your room.
Although he could not feel it, your apartment pulsated with raw magical energy in its purest form. You really thought you were safe.
A rainy November afternoon, you're tasked to bring some ingredients you've had stashed at your apartment to your aunt Hilda's house, a delivery from Janice- ingredients from Bulgaria, after your shift.
What surprises you about your aunt Hilda is that despite being a witch, she does not go unnoticed- living in one of the Painted Ladies house in the heart of San Francisco, all by herself and her cat, Arsenio.
She always invites you in for tea and a reading, so you step into her house, smelling of antique parchment, tea leaves and a mystical smell of pungent resin and wood, much different from your incense and dried flowers smell.
"I need to invite Janice over one of these days" she says in her veiled voice, pouring you a cup of jasmine tea.
"I don't know if she's going to be able to get out of Haight Ashbury, Aunt Hilda. She's like two- hundred years old or something" you laugh, rummaging through your bag for the delivery you visited your aunt for, placing the jars on the table.
She gasps in delight "You can't get those plants anywhere else, she must have paid a fortune for that blood from a vampire's fangs" she squeals, running to her cabinet to find a home for her new deliveries.
"How's your human, dear?" she asks from the kitchen, followed by clattering of glass and metal.
"Oh, Eddie's fine, he should be off work soon, maybe we'll do something after" you shrug, petting her cat, Arsenio, on your lap.
"And his handsome hunk of an uncle?" you roll your eyes at that.
"God, Aunt Hilda, gross" you groan, sinking in your seat.
"Let me know when he's back in town, I need to invite them both over one of these days, it might be nice. Shall we do a reading before I leave?" she sits back down at the small table and takes a sip of her tea, tarot cards in hand.
"Yeah, I'll ask him for his schedule" you finish your tea "Let me do a one card pull, I need to get home"
"You know, dear, you've been awfully nervous lately- so jumpy" She says, as she shuffles the laminated cards for what feels like forever,
"I'm okay, Aunt Hilda, just stressed with work" you lie, exhaling with anticipation as her wrinkled hand holds the deck. Your aunt's readings have always made you nervous.
You'd been jumpy for a while, the thought of Eddie finding out had been making you nervous, but you wouldn't dare to tell your aunt that.
She offers the deck to you, you pick a card and then give it to her. A gasp escapes her upon looking at it.
A panic rises through your body "What? What is it?" you ask, your bag already across your shoulder, holding on to its strap.
"The Tower" she mutters, destruction, unexpected change, awakening.
A shiver runs down your spine, one by one your vertebrae straighten "I just had a really bad feeling, dear. I would check in on your human boy" she places a hand on her temple, heart racing as you bolt out of your seat and leave.
On the train, panic settles in, wondering if Eddie was somehow connected to this.
A call startles you. It's him.
You tremble when nearing the phone to your ear.
"Hey, witchy, I'm at your house- I used the spare key. I just called 'cause I had a question" he says, voice dubious and vague.
"What is it, Ed? I'm on my way home"
"I was just wondering if it's normal that the cabinet in your hallway is open? I had to stop Circe from getting into it a couple times" you hear a meowing in the background, he must be holding her.
"What cabinet?" you feel your chest rise and fall at an incredibly fast pace.
"The one with the wilted flowers on them, it has a bunch of bottles. Are- are these fake potions?" There's an amused lilt in his voice, almost as if he's laughing at you. Fuck. The potion cabinet.
"Eddie don't touch anything, I'm literally here" your alarmed tone freaks him out, but he has no time to say anything as you hang up and enter your apartment building.
You run up the stairs, heart in your throat, as you reach your front door and slam it open. Eddie's head swings violently.
"Hey, witchy, what's wrong?" he stands up from the cabinet, holding Circe on one arm. You're heaving, irregular breaths, as you see he's still standing, alive, and breathing.
You close the door. "You didn't touch anything in there, did you?" you run towards the open cabinet, checking for missing bottles.
"Witchy, honey, I don't get why you're so jumpy about a couple of fake potions, they would actually be really useful for DnD" Eddie chuckles, reaching into the cabinet to grab a bottle, observing it up close. A greyish- blue liquid swirls inside the bottle.
"Eddie! Put it back! It's dangerous!" you exclaim as you reach for the bottle, but he's blocking you.
"Baby, I think you might be getting a little too carried away with this witchy stuff. There's no way you should be reacting like this over some water and dye" he swirls the bottle once again "I'll even drink it, show you it's not actually that dangerous"
A smug smile adorns his lips, as you watch helplessly while he uncorks the small vial and downs its content.
“EDDIE NO” You aren’t even sure what it is, which makes a panic set into your stomach, hoping you could reverse whatever he ingested.
“No, no, no, no, what have you done?” your head encapsulated in your hands, feeling the beady sweat on your hairline, falling to your knees with the realization. You’re going to have to tell him.
“See? Not dangerous, baby. I love you, but you need to do something about this obsession, it’s getting out of hand” he sighs “I’m hungry i’m gonna get some food” but before he can even take a step, the rumbling of stone fills the room.
You grab the empty glass vial and examine its label. Shit. He turned himself to stone.
In a panic, he looks at you.
“Witchy, what’s going on?” his eyes dart from you to his frozen legs, the stone spreading itself upward quickly “Witch-what- is that stone?” He goes still after that.
A statue. His cold, grey eyes staring up at you in a panic.
Tears brimming your eyes at the sudden realization that once you turn him back to normal he’s going to know.
His hands feel cold at the touch as you cling on to your boyfriend’s statued form. Mouth agape, eyebrows pinched in fear, it hurt you to see him like this. You were going to lose it all because of a dumb mistake.
A desperate scream bubbles inside your chest as you hold yourself flush against Eddie’s cold surface, wishing his arms could hug you back, having to come to terms with the fact that this is probably the last time you’ll ever see him in your home. You won’t ever get to hold him again.
Weak and teary- eyed you reach for your phone, wiping under your eyes as you try to stabilize yourself.
“Hello, dear?” aunt Hilda says through the phone.
“Aunt Hilda I made a really terrible mistake” you sob, shoulders shaking with the violence of your hiccups.
“What’s wrong? What happened?” the concern is palpable through her voice.
“I left- left my potion cabinet open and Eddie-” another string of violent sobs follow, rumbled deep in your chest, shaking you to your very core.
“What happened to Eddie?” The question is cautious, though unfortunately you could feel the alarm and sternness in her voice.
“He turned to stone” you sigh, exasperated, letting yourself sink into the sofa.
“Stone? How did a human man turn to stone?” ever the help, your aunt exclaims.
A dramatic exhale you feel like you’ve been holding onto “I left my potion cabinet open and he- and he has a spare key” you sob- all your fault for letting your guard down, all your fault for letting yourself care for him so mindlessly.
“He got into it thinking they were all fake, I tried to- to stop him” a siffle stops you “he was trying to be funny” a string of sobs followed, unable to speak any longer.
“You need to pull yourself together,” Hilda says, amidst your inconsolable sobs “you know how to reverse this” her voice is stern, yet shaky, she feels for you, having to let your love go.
“The mirror” you mumble.
“That’s right, get a mirror- circle of reflection, circle of protection” she reminds you “repeat those words, he’ll be okay, dear” you can tell that she is hurting, breaking the law of your coven, making you face consequences you haven't even thought of.
Would you be losing your power? Would you have to move away from him? In hindsight that would be a blessing, as you doubt he would want to stay, now that your secret is uncovered.
Hilda hangs up the phone as you scramble to get a mirror, and smear salt over his heart. Trying to reverse the spell that might have broken it.
The mirror faces your boyfriend, his features grey and scared- the last time you’ll ever see him in this lifetime.
Circle of reflection, circle of protection
Circle of reflection, circle of protection
Circle of reflection, circle of protection
The hand that is not holding the mirror is clutched on tightly to his chest, as you keep repeating the words.
The sound of rubble breaking makes your heart wrench, selfishly wanting him to stay a statue for a little longer, so you won’t have to say goodbye to him just yet, but the stone armor sheds, and his eyes are brown instead of dull and grey, and his arms move, as well as his mouth, closing in itself, breathing as if he’s come to life for the first time.
He rubs his eyes first, drowsy, like waking up from a one- hundred year old slumber. He looks around the room, it’s familiar to him, the smell of incense that was there, and then it wasn’t, blocked by the earthy smell of rubble and earth.
“What happened?” he mumbles, shaking his stiff limbs, kicking the broken suit of stone armor at his feet, your hand still on his heart “Witchy?”
His eyes are blown wide, memories of what had happened an hour before coming to the surface. The same panicked look adorns his face.
“The potion- it wasn’t” he begins, as you move your hand off of his body, much to your heart’s dismay. You shake your head.
“It wasn’t fake. None of them are fake” you mutter, staring at the floor, not even daring to look at him. There’s a quiet tension, an almost awkward silence, charged with pain and heartbreak, as Eddie realizes what you mean by ‘not fake.’
“And you brought me back from whatever I turned into” he breathes.
You just nod, head fixated on the floorboards and the rubble surrounding his feet.
“Does that make you-” he gulps. Can’t even bring himself to say it.
“A witch” you mumble under your breath “a real one,” your gaze falls on his eyes, dilated and sad, as his eyebrows curve up, a line forming on the bridge of his nose.
There’s once again an unsettling quiet between you two, as he tries to wrap his head around the news.
His chest feels hollow, where your hand had been just moments before, an unrecognizable phantom pressing down on his heart, rubbing salt in a gashing wound, hoping it would ameliorate it, only to make it bleed more.
He takes a few steps back, watching his step over the rubble, breaking his silence after what feels like hours.
“Why didn’t you tell me this?” it’s a mere mumble, but the question was clear, hurt, and a little scared, maybe.
“I swore under oath that I would keep it a secret” you purse your lips, taking a step forward. Your heart shatters when he takes a step back.
His chest is stilled, breath caught in his throat, hands at his sides as he scoffs.
“You swore you’d keep it a secret? Is that why you’ve been so jumpy lately? You knew I was bound to find out and you didn’t tell me?” his head is reeling, betrayal cuts through him like a knife as more and more of looking at you twists the dagger in his chest.
“I didn’t want you to find out, Ed. I promised to my coven-”
“Your coven? There’s more of you?” you can’t do anything else but swallow on the knot in your throat, scratching and engorging with every word that comes out of Eddie’s mouth, and nod.
“And you let me drink the potion, God knows what it could have been” he trembles, a shaky breath escapes him.
“I tried to stop you, Eddie!” you reach for him, hanging on the feeble hope he’ll realize that you have never meant to hurt him in the first place.
“And- and what if you spelled me, huh? What if you spelled me to make me fall in love with you? Is my love for you not real?” that hurt you more than anything else he could have said, tears brimming your eyes, escaping from their confinement as they streak down your cheeks.
“I’ve never used my magic on you,” you admit, voice thick with salty tears “my love for you is real, as yours is. I never tampered with your heart, it’s not who I am” bottom lip jutted out and trembling, feeling on the teetering edge of the end.
“I don’t know who you are” a stab to the heart would have hurt less. “You’ve been lying to me for the past year about who you are. No wonder I was so in love with you, you made me fall in love with a person that doesn’t exist, you spelled me!” he’s trembling, you can see it in the way that his fists are balled up– something he does to stabilize himself whenever he’s upset.
And now he’s upset because of you.
“Eddie–” you take a step forward, he takes a step back.
“No. Don’t- don’t come closer.” tears well at the bottom of your lash line, as you watch him turn away, leave and close the door behind him. Words trapped at the bottom of your throat. Words you’ll never get to say again.
You’re not sure how long you stand there, staring at the doorknob, hoping that it might turn, revealing Eddie once again, ready for you to explain everything to him.
But the doorknob doesn’t turn, the door doesn’t open, and Eddie doesn’t come back.
You refuse to sweep the rubble from the last time he was in your apartment, hoping that the smell of him stuck to the cold stone, but there’s nothing left of him in your space.
The thing about love witches is that when the thing most precious to them, their hearts, break, the life force of their power fades.
So within a short span of days, you notice yourself being weakened. Simple spells become a hard feat, as you can barely make things levitate, sitting in the darkness of your room.
Days begin to merge into themselves, as you get yourself to work, then home, then work, then home. A repeating cycle you don’t intend to stop. You leave around the back side of the store, to not let Eddie see you while he’s on his smoke break, blending into the crowded streets of what once seemed like the best place in the world.
Your aunt Hilda doesn’t hear from you, and neither does anyone else. You fall off the face of the earth, hoping that your hours never coincide with Eddie’s.
But you can feel it from next door, the pain and hurt that radiates from the record store. You feel it in the way he speaks to customers, in the way he sighs as he gets off his smoke break.
You hear him ask Janice about you, she tells him that she doesn’t know, that she hasn’t seen you in a while. Respecting your wishes to let him live his life in peace.
But he wasn’t living his life in peace. In fact, Eddie was miserable.
He was miserable in the way that everything reminded him of you, in the way that if he stepped too close to your store (to make sure you were working that day), he’d smell the rose incense you’d light at your house. The one he would smell on your clothes.
The crystals that sat on his windowsill were now tightly packed and shoved away on a far up shelf that he would not be reminded of you. He burned every trace of you, the taste of betrayal bitter in his throat as he sat on his couch every night, always on the left side, because you sat on the right. A place for you was always carved in his mind, whether it was unconscious or intentional.
The smell of your shampoo lingers in the pink bottles in his shower, in the silk pillow you always slept on when you went over to his house. A silk shirt you left on his bed, gingerly placed on his pillow as he lets your smell engulf him. That’s the only way he can sleep.
There’s a fear deeply setting in, that he might just never be able to get over you. Despite the lies and the secrets, he will never be able to not think about you, not when the smell of rose incense or the color pink exist, not when long skirts and crystals and tarot cards and brocade rugs exist. Not when you exist. Not when you keep walking the earth, sadness seeping in every crevice and every crack of his walls.
He knows he can’t go on like this. Not while you roam the same streets he roams, waiting for you to turn around. Look at me, witchy, look at me.
And you’re so sad. He can see it in your eyes, in the way you don’t carry yourself like you used to– shoulders slouched, dressed in black like you’re mourning the loss of your heart. Mourning the loss of your love.
He debates going back to Hawkins for a bit. Going back to live with his uncle– leave this new world behind, just until the air has been purified of you. Until he’s no longer thinking about the witchy girl who haunts his dreams at night. Go work where his friend Steve works at, shitty, dead- end job, just for a bit.
Confine himself to the life of a hermit, just so he can allow you to live in peace.
So he goes back to Hawkins, under the guise of going home for the holidays. He picks up whatever jobs his uncle can’t do anymore because of his age, driving the beat up yellow pick- up truck in and out of town.
“I never thought I’d see the day Munson would come crawling back” he’d hear a couple of people say on the street. He’s never gone unnoticed, but now more so than before– integrated in the San Francisco scene, he did anything but blend in. And he swears he sees you a few times, walking around downtown Hawkins, your hair, your clothes, your bag. Prancing around like your life is back to normal.
Could it have been a spell? Did you spell him to not make him forget about you?
But he knows it isn’t like you. Not malicious, not even as a witch, he assumes.
He keeps himself up at night thinking about you. You’d never use magic on him. With a sound mind, he tells himself that’s true. Your love for him is real. Is his love for you real? Shivering in the freezing temperature of his uncle’s trailer he’d ponder whether what you had was real or not.
Real.
He drives himself crazy, the thought of you plaguing his mind.
Even his uncle grows worried, the purple bags under his nephew’s eyes, all the books on witchcraft Eddie could find at the Hawkins local library sitting on his desk. Staying up to read on anything and everything that could help him.
And when that doesn’t work he goes on his uncle’s shitty wifi he never uses to research anything about witches, about magic, about you.
You don’t sense him anymore. Not through the walls, not in his sardonic laugh. It’s like he’d vanished into thin air.
You find yourself stepping into the record store after a shift, asking his shitty coworkers what happened to Eddie.
And you’re so weak. So tired, it is even a feat to be able to make it through one full shift standing up, finding a stool to sit on. You’ve paled, eyes dark and lifeless.
“He’s gone back home for the holidays” one of the assholes who made fun of you says “left you stranded here all by yourself? Or did he kick you to the curb?” he smirks, and the other idiot laughs. You make a mental note to hex them for good next time.
If you don’t die first.
Eddie comes back to San Francisco after the holidays, and it’s like he’s never left.
Union Square has taken off the tree and the ice skating rink– he wanted to take you there. He thought you’d be good at ice skating. You’re good at everything. Or maybe it’s because you’re magic.
The restaurant you went to on your first date has closed down. There’s a smile creeping on his face as he remembers you laughing because he couldn’t eat with chopsticks. He misses hearing you laugh. He misses seeing you smile.
The tiny twinkle, the stars in your eyes. The way he’d braid your hair at night. Petting Circe, nestled in between you two in your bed.
He sees you for the first time since he’s been back on the porch of your shop. His heart shrinks at the sight of you. Eyes sunken in, buried in layers and layers of woolen fabric, staring blankly at the street in front of you.
The thing about love witches is that when the thing most precious to them, their hearts, break, the life force of their power fades.
He remembers reading that in an old looking book during the holidays. He wrote it down in his notebook.
A love witch. Thrives on being loved and being in love.
Her heart is only safe when her love is true and unfettered.
He sees it now.
He shows up to your house after talking himself into it for a week, with the excuse of returning a shirt. The same silk shirt he’d been sleeping on top of since he left you. He had it washed for you. It doesn’t smell like you anymore.
He knocks. Is it him or are his hands always that sweaty? Is his heart beating at a normal pace? Is his hair okay? And his breath? Oh shit, he has a zit on his chin.
“Go away Aunt Hilda!” he hears you say, grumpy and grouchy. The veiled sadness in your voice creates a rift between him and the door.
So he knocks. Again. And Again.
“Aunt Hilda I don’t know how many times I have to tell you this, I don’t want– Eddie” A breath gets trapped in your diaphragm, feeling your heart start picking up its pace for the first time in what felt like weeks.
“Hi” he gives you a tight smile, the silk balled up in a fist, purple with little black swirls on it.
“Hi, um, I– what are you doing here? Do you wanna come in?” you slither like a worm, that’s how you feel. The boy you’ve been pining and crying and suffering for is here. Right in front of you.
You look so much more frail than he’d remembered “I uh–” he holds up the fabric “you left this at my house”
“Oh, thanks. That’s sweet of you” Your heart drops, you really thought he was going to make amends with you?
You extend your arm, so he can give the shirt to you. So he can be on his way and be gone forever.
Hands, fingers, knuckles. He misses holding your hand.
“I heard you went home for the holidays, how was that?” you lean on the doorframe, hands crossed on your chest.
“It was good, I just spent it with my uncle. He told me to tell you happy new year, uh— even though we’re not—” he shouldn’t have said the last part, he sees you sink into yourself, gazing down at the hardwood floor. His stomach twists.
“What did you do for the holidays?” he asks. He doesn’t want it to be over, not yet.
“I just stayed in, I’ve been pretty sick lately, flu season in full swing. I’ve just been—”
“Your heart’s broken, isn’t it? That’s why you’ve been so sick?” your heart drops. How does he know all this?
He reads your puzzled expression “I um— did some research. That’s what I did most of my holidays. I just wanted to understand. I know you didn’t spell me, or whatever. You’re a love witch” he takes out a piece of paper, highlighted is a sentence, in light pink.
Her heart is only safe when her love is true and unfettered.
Your head is reeling, he hasn’t stopped thinking about you. He spent his holidays researching you, your kind. He knows you didn’t lie to him.
Tears begin to spill onto the old parchment, the tears you haven’t shed in the past two months resurfacing, as you violently jerk and sob in front of him. You missed him.
Eddie quickly steps into your apartment and closes the door, enveloping you in a hug. And it feels good for your heart, a soothing balm for all the cracks and wounds it’s suffered.
“It’s okay, witchy, you can let it out” he says, as you continue to sob on his shoulder. Soft shushing sounds as he caresses your hair “Shhh…shhh… I’ve got you” and it’s like he’s never left.
“I’m here now, I’m not leaving” his assurance makes your body feel whole again. He sits you both down on the couch.
“Witchy, I didn’t stop thinking about you for a second. I would see you everywhere, I thought I was going crazy” he begins, and maybe he sees a twinkle in your eye, something weak, almost like a heartbeat being revived.
“I thought going to Hawkins, just to distance myself would change things. But I’d keep myself awake thinking about you, all the time, wondering if you were doing okay.” His hand brushes yours, as you wipe your tears with the sleeve of your sweater.
“I would see you at work, or out and about and you looked so sad. And I just couldn’t explain to myself what happened to you, until I came across that book” he finishes.
And in turn, you don’t say anything, you just kiss him. It’s wet and messy with the tears and the saliva, but he immediately kisses you back, cradling your face in his hand. Your heart beats faster than it has in a while, and it’s like magically, your skin has a bit more color to it.
And Eddie sees the stars in your eyes again.
When you detach you just lay your head on his chest. You listen for his heartbeat, lulling you into a deep sleep, the best sleep you’ve had in two months. He follows you not soon after, Circe on his lap, as he falls into slumber with a peaceful smile on his face.
Once awoken from your sleep, you go make a cup of tea for the both of you.
“Witchy?” your head lifts at the nickname as you pour him his tea.
“So, are you a witch, a mage or a sorceress?”
You just roll your eyes and kiss him again.

The following week had been filled with work, keeping up the appearance of an innocent gardener. It was easy enough, the herb beds were finished and now all you needed to do was keep them maintained and watered. It was a pleasant task, especially compared to the tasks ahead of you.
You had been avoiding Elijah, Agnes told you not to use him unless absolutely necessary, and so far, he had left you alone. He had been polite, friendly, but his presence had been a constant shadow. Stolen glances and flirty smiles, he was clearly interested.
You had tried to ignore him, but every time you saw him, you felt a rush of excitement and dread. He was the enemy, and yet, his presence made your heart flutter and your stomach churn. It was foolish, reckless, dangerous, and yet, there was no denying the pull.
It was early morning when you arrived at the compound, the air was cold and misty, the sun had just started to peek above the horizon. The courtyard was empty, and the whole compound was quiet, almost eerily so.
"Gardner! Just who I was looking for," Klaus' voice rang out, making you jump.
You spun around to find him leaning against the railing on the second floor, a grin on his face.
"Good morning, Mr. Mikaelson," you greeted, trying to keep the fear from your voice. "What can I do for you?"
He strolled down the stairs and approached you, a cocky smile on his lips.
"I was wondering if you would care to join me for breakfast?" He asked, stopping a few feet away from you.
You looked up at him, your stomach twisting with anxiety. You had hoped to avoid him as long as possible.
"Come now," he said, his voice smooth and seductive, "don't be shy."
You nodded, giving him a forced smile. He led you to the dining room, holding out a chair for you.
"Please," he said, gesturing to the seat. "Surely, you're hungry, and we have some things to discuss,"
You sat down, and he sat at the head of the table, looking pleased with himself. A number of servants came and went, bringing plates and glasses. One stopped and slit their wrist, pouring blood into a glass for Klaus, their expression empty.
You looked away, your stomach churning, you hated the sight of blood. The smell of the food made you nauseous, and the thought of eating was unbearable.
"So, my brother tells me you are a witch, I don't recall seeing that on your resume," he said, picking up his wine glass and swirling the blood inside.
"I didn't think it was necessary," you replied, trying to keep your voice even.
"Yes, well," he paused, taking a sip, "I'm sure you are aware of the current...situation,"
You nodded, avoiding his gaze, trying to quell your nausea. Klaus chuckled at your unease.
"Eggs?" He offered, holding up a plate.
"No, thank you," you said, forcing a smile.
He shrugged, setting the plate down and digging into the pile of food in front of him.
"The witches have been rather troublesome, plotting against my family," he said, taking a bite of sausage. "Do you know anything about that?"
"I'm afraid not," you lied, looking at him.
"Hmm," he mused, chewing slowly, his eyes narrowed.
"Why do you think I would be involved in any sort of plots?" You asked, taking a bite of toast. "Awfully presumptuous to lump all witches together, like we are some sort of monolithic entity."
"You are a witch, and I am a vampire, and our relationship is...contentious at best," he said, his blue eyes sparkling. "Besides, I have heard rumblings, whispers, of a new faction, a new coven-"
"Brother," Elijah's voice interrupted.
You looked over to see him enter the room, his expression stern. He gave Klaus a disapproving look before sitting down next to you at the table.
"Y/n," he said, smiling at you. "How are the herb beds coming along?"
"Very well, thank you," you replied, relieved by the interruption.
"Eggs?" Klaus offered, holding up the plate again.
"No, thank you," Elijah said, a hint of annoyance in his tone.
"You love eggs," Klaus teased, shoveling a forkful of egg into his mouth.
"Yes, but I am not in the mood," Elijah said, his voice sharp.
Klaus raised an eyebrow, and Elijah shook his head.
"Are you planning on interrogating her the entire meal?" Elijah said, looking over at his brother.
Klaus shrugged, shoveling another forkful of eggs into his mouth. "Whatever do you mean Elijah? This is simply a friendly breakfast,"
"It doesn't seem friendly," Elijah retorted, "and I think the poor girl is uncomfortable,"
"You worry too much, brother," Klaus said, grinning. "She's perfectly fine, aren't you?" He looked over at you.
"Yes, I'm fine," you said, trying to hide the unease in your voice.
"See?" Klaus said, giving Elijah a smug look. "There's nothing to worry about."
Elijah sighed and poured you a cup of coffee, pushing it towards you.
"Please, drink," he said, offering a sympathetic smile. "I'm sorry, my brother can be a bit...difficult,"
"Hey," Klaus interjected, his expression indignant. "I'm sitting right here."
Elijah ignored him and continued, "how are the herbs? Do you need any help with anything?"
"Everything is fine, thank you," you replied, taking a sip of the coffee. "I... Do have a question though,"
"Anything," Elijah said, looking at you, his hand resting on the table next to yours. You could feel the heat from his body, the tension between the two of you.
"Your choice of herbs, was that intentional?" You asked, looking up at him.
Klaus' eyebrows shot up, his gaze curious. "What do you mean?"
"The herbs in the greenhouse," you clarified, "you chose them for their magical properties, didn't you?"
"We did," Elijah admitted, his gaze thoughtful.
"What did you hope to accomplish with them?" You pressed, wanting more information.
Elijah was silent for a moment, his gaze fixed on the table, then he looked at Klaus, an unreadable expression on his face.
"Call it a precaution," Klaus said, leaning back in his chair, his arms folded across his chest.
"A precaution?" You asked, confused.
Neither of them answered, but you could feel the tension in the room. There was an unspoken conversation going on between the brothers, and you were missing something.
"You worry about the wrong things," Klaus finally said, his gaze locked on Elijah. "Just get the job done and you will be well compensated,"
Elijah gave his brother a hard look, and then turned his attention back to you, a polite smile on his face.
"I can walk you back to the greenhouse," he offered, standing up.
"And leave all this food for me to eat?" Klaus exclaimed, his tone teasing.
Elijah ignored him and took your arm, helping you stand up.
"It was lovely having breakfast with you," Elijah said softly as he walked you to the door. "Perhaps we can do it again sometime."
"Sure," you said, not sure how else to respond.
The greenhouse was quiet when you returned, the sun streaming through the windows. You could smell the herbs, their fragrance filling the air. Elijah stood beside you, his hands in his pockets.
"Can we talk?" he asked, his tone gentle.
"Of course," you replied, looking up at him.
He smiled, and reached out, taking your hand in his. Your heart was pounding, your stomach churning. You had to keep reminding yourself that he was a killer, not the handsome and charming man he was portraying himself to be.
"I was hoping we could continue where we left off the other night," he said, his eyes dark with desire.
You swallowed, trying to push down the feelings that were threatening to overtake you.
"Elijah," you began, but he cut you off, pressing his lips to yours. You melted into the kiss, his hand resting on the small of your back, pulling you in close.
"I've been thinking about you," he murmured against your lips, "about that kiss,."
He stepped forward, moving you backwards until you hit the workbench. His hands rested on your hips, lifting you up and setting you down on the counter.
You couldn't deny how hot he was, or how much you enjoyed him taking control. You didn't have to pretend, not right now. The constant whispering of the ancestors fell silent, the stress and pressure you were under was lifted, if only for a moment.
You smiled against his lips, running your hands up his chest.
"I can't get you out of my mind," he whispered, his hand running through your hair.
You laughed softly, "Have I cast a spell on you?"
"If you did, I wouldn't mind," he said, his eyes dancing with amusement.
His hands moved slowly up your thighs, searching for the buttons of your pants. You giggled as he struggled, his fingers fumbling. He pulled back and looked down, frowning in confusion.
"You have to start up here," you smiled, biting your lip, pointing to the buckles of your overalls. "You probably don't hook up with a lot of women wearing these."
He smiled, mildly flustered. "I've taken off much more complicated garments than this," he said, flipping the buckles and tugging your pants down.
It was a bit of an awkward struggle to get them off, the two of you giggling and fumbling around. Finally, he was able to tug them past your hips, pulling them off and tossing them to the side.
He leaned forward, pressing his lips to yours, his tongue exploring your mouth. You wrapped your legs around him, pulling him closer. He chuckled against your lips and slid his hands under your shirt, caressing your breasts. You moaned softly, arching your back, pressing into his touch.
His hands moved down your sides, sliding over your hips and thighs, pulling you closer. You could feel his arousal, hard and insistent, pressing against you.
"Am I moving too fast?" He asked, his eyes searching yours.
"Not at all," you whispered, kissing him.
He grinned, his thumb gently grazing over the swollen nub peeking through your panties ,a little wet patch had formed, the cotton clinging to you. You grabbed his shoulders, pulling him closer. He chuckled and kissed you, his fingers moving slowly, exploring, teasing.
"Oh, you're so sensitive," he said, his voice low and seductive. "And beautiful."
Your fingers curled into his shirt, your eyes locked with his. He smiled, watching you react, enjoying the effect he was having on you.
"You like that?" He asked, his voice a deep purr.
"Yes," you whispered, your cheeks flushed.
"Good," he said, his finger slipping into you, making you gasp.
He hummed, his fingers moving in and out of you in a firm, steady rhythm. You were so wet, the filthy sounds were audible in the quiet of the greenhouse. He pressed his lips to yours, his fingers continuing their pace, driving you crazy. Your hands slid down, unbuckling his belt and fumbling with his zipper.
"In a hurry?" He teased, his breath warm on your skin.
"A little," you moaned, your eyes squeezed shut.
He chuckled, pulling his fingers from you, causing you to whine in protest. He knelt down, his hands sliding up your thighs, gripping the edge of your panties.
"Let me," he said, tugging the wet garment down and off.
You bit your lip, watching him, your heart pounding. He grinned, his hands pushing your knees apart. His tongue ran along the inside of your thigh, making you shudder. He paused, his gaze moving up, meeting yours.
"Is this alright?" He asked, his fingers tracing circles on the smooth skin.
"Yes," you whispered, your eyes fixed on him.
He smirked and then buried his face between your thighs, his tongue lapping at your swollen, slick cunt. You let out a moan, your hand grabbing onto his hair, pulling him closer.
He was good, infuriatingly so, his tongue licking and swirling, driving you wild. You could feel your climax building, the tension rising, his hands gripping your thighs, his tongue working its magic.
You were close, so close, your toes curling, your body trembling. You couldn't believe how good it felt, how amazing his mouth felt against your skin.
The silence in your mind was intoxicating, the freedom addictive. The only things that mattered were the waves of pleasure coursing through your body and the feeling of his fingers digging into your hips.
The pressure built, and you writhed, bucking your hips, grinding against his mouth. Reaching, reaching, reaching for the edge, desperate for release.
And then, you fell.
The world exploded in a blinding light, stars dancing behind your eyes. Your body shook, a tingling sensation spreading from your core, to the tips of your toes. The voices came rushing back, and with them visions of the past, of a life lived, of a future yet to be written.
You could see plants wilting, rotting in their pots, a tree splitting, its roots exposed, a forest fire, a raging inferno, consuming everything in its path. Ashes like rain, falling, blanketing the earth. You could hear screams of children, of a mother crying, a woman wailing. You saw blood, so much blood, the air thick with its coppery scent.
You screamed, your eyes wide, your body shaking, the images flooding your mind. It was too much, it was all too much. You couldn't breathe, the weight of it crushing you, suffocating you.
You felt two warm hands on your shoulders, shaking you, a soft, muffled voice calling to you.
"Are you okay? Come back to me, come back,"
Slowly, the images faded, the voices silenced, the pressure eased. Your heart was pounding, sweat covering your skin. You looked up, Elijah's worried expression coming into focus.
"Y/n?" He said, his voice laced with concern.
"I'm... I'm okay," you managed, your voice hoarse.
His hand cupped your cheek, his thumb stroking your skin.
"What happened? You went away for a moment," He asked, his eyes scanning yours, searching for an answer.
"Y-you are just really good at that," you said, giving him a small smile, your voice shaking.
He wasn't convinced, his expression concerned. He was about to say something when Klaus' voice echoed through the greenhouse.
"Brother! Are you still here?"
You and Elijah looked at each other, his hands quickly fixing his pants, before he moved away. You forced a smile, the visions still lingering, the voices of your ancestors had returned, the blissful silence gone. He helped you stand, his hands lingering on your waist, his eyes full of questions. You tried to give him a reassuring smile, but he could see through it.
"Do you need anything? Water, or..." He trailed off, searching for an excuse to stay, to make sure you were okay. "Did I upset you? I... I didn't mean to push."
You shook your head, trying to put him at ease. "No, it's not you, it's... I'm sorry, I can't,"
You were embarrassed, confused. You needed space, time to sort through the images and figure out what they meant.
"You're sure?" He asked, his voice gentle.
"Yeah, I'm fine, really," you said, trying to sound convincing. "Thank you, but I... I have work to do, I should go,"
"Okay," he said, reluctantly letting go of your waist.
You hurried to find your clothes, putting them on, ignoring the way the fabric stuck to your damp skin. He watched you, his expression thoughtful, his arms folded across his chest.
"Have dinner with me tomorrow?" He asked, his eyes hopeful.
You hesitated. "I'm not sure that's such a good-"
"Please," he said, his voice soft. "Let me take you out. We can have a nice, normal date."
You smiled, your heart fluttering. "Okay,"
He grinned, his eyes sparkling. "Great, I'll pick you up,"
You nodded, mustering your best smile. You couldn't shake the unease, the fear, the dread that was starting to creep in. There was a storm coming, you could feel it, and you weren't sure what to do.
Agnes lit the last candle, the soft glow filling the room. She closed her eyes and whispered an incantation, the air thick with the scent of herbs.
Maeve wandered in and sat down beside you, watching Agnes.
"Is she trying to commune with the ancestors again?" Maeve asked, her voice laced with irritation.
"She is," you replied, keeping your tone neutral.
"It won't work," Maeve said, her voice harsh.
"I had a vision," you whispered, not wanting to distract Agnes.
"Of course you did," Maeve scoffed, her gaze fixed on Agnes. "They're always visions. Never anything helpful."
"Maeve," you warned, not wanting to argue.
You heard the sound of the latch being pulled and the other coven members entered, filling the room. Agnes signaled for the members to gather around the altar.
"Welcome," she said, her voice low and calm. "I have called this meeting to discuss an urgent matter,"
The coven murmured, exchanging glances, a sense of unease filling the room. Agnes looked over at you, gesturing for you to speak.
"We have a problem," you began, your voice shaking.
"What's going on?" A member named Ava asked, her voice concerned.
"I think I know what they want with the herbs," you said, your eyes scanning the group.
"Spit it out, girl," Maeve said, her tone sharp.
"We know they have been escalating this war, first with suppression, then an outright ban on magic. They have executed some of our families, and now they are planning to use the last thing we have against us," you said, taking a breath, steeling yourself.
"Which is?" Another member named Liza asked, her gaze focused on you.
"They're taking complete control of the vervain supply," you replied, "They're growing it, cultivating it, with the aim of controlling it,"
"That would explain why they were in need of a gardener," Beatrice said, her brow furrowed in thought.
"But why would they need complete control?" Liza asked, her voice full of concern.
"To take the last thread of control away from us," Agnes replied, her eyes full of worry. "They will keep it out of our water supply, and be able to compel any person they please,"
"And they will kill any competitors," you said softly, remembering the vision.
"Including you, with your little shop" Maeve said, her lips curled in a cruel smile. "So, you might want to focus on getting us the ash before they cut your pretty head off,"
"Any progress with getting the ash?" Beatrice asked, placing her hand on your shoulder, her gaze sympathetic.
"Not yet," you replied, shaking your head. "It's a delicate process."
Agnes nodded, looking around at the seven young women. "We must prepare, we need to find another way to protect ourselves. Our coven, our legacy is all that matters,"
The witches nodded, their expressions somber.
"Our ancestors are looking out for us, guiding us. We will survive, we will persevere," Agnes said, her voice resolute. "Y/n has seen it,"
"Oh yes, the vision," Maeve said, her eyes filled with sarcasm. "What have you seen?"
"I... I saw death and destruction," you said, your voice shaking.
"You can't be serious," Maeve scoffed, rolling her eyes. "You have had those visions hundreds of times,"
"Maeve," Agnes warned.
"No, this is ridiculous," Maeve shot back, her eyes narrowed. "We need the ash, and y/n isn't getting it. So, we need to find someone else who can."
"I'm doing my best," you said, trying to remain calm. "I have earned Elijah's trust, he will-"
"When and how did you have this vision?" Maeve demanded, cutting you off.
"This morning," you admitted, knowing there was no point in hiding it.
"Please dear, tell us how, perhaps it can add clarity to what is to come," Agnes said, her voice soothing.
You felt yourself blushing, your cheeks growing hot. "I... I was with Elijah, in the greenhouse," you began, avoiding their eyes.
"Your visions are usually caused by stress," Beatrice chimed in, her brow furrowed. "Was he threatening you in some way? Was it an argument?"
"No, no, nothing like that," you assured them, a blush creeping onto your cheeks. "It was... I... It was after,"
"After what?" Liza asked, her interest piqued.
You cleared your throat, shifting uncomfortably. Everyone here knew you were trying to seduce him, that his blindspot was always with his lovers. But admitting that he had touched you, that you had let him, that was different.
"It was after he was intimate with her," Agnes said, her voice soft and understanding.
You could feel the judgment, the disapproval, the tension in the room. Beatrice took your hand and gave it a squeeze, trying to offer you comfort.
"How many times has that happened?" Maeve asked, her tone accusatory.
"Maeve," Beatrice warned, "she's making a great sacrifice for us,"
"Whoring herself out to an abomination," Maeve scoffed, shaking her head.
"That's enough," Agnes said, her tone sharp, cutting the argument short.
"It's fine, I understand her concerns," you said, trying to keep the bitterness from your voice. "I've been with him every day, I'm gaining his trust, it's only a matter of time before I find the ash."
The other members nodded, their faces grim.
"Y/n's way is the safest, they cannot know when we take it, or they will stop us with violence," Agnes said, her expression solemn.
"How long will it take?" Maeve asked, her frustration evident.
"I can't be sure," you admitted, shaking your head.
Maeve let out a frustrated groan and stood up, storming out of the room.
"I'm sorry," you said, looking around at the others.
"Don't apologize, it's a difficult task," Liza said, offering you a reassuring smile. "I could never have the will or strength to lay with a demon, much less one of the old ones."
You swallowed, forcing a smile, trying not to let the comment hurt. It wasn't exactly a burden to be with him, you couldn't deny that it had felt good. That there had been moments where the lines between what was an act and what was real blurred.
"He is a very handsome man," Beatrice added, trying to lighten the mood.
"That he is," Ava agreed, her eyes twinkling. "It's a shame he's so evil."
"Yes," you said, forcing a smile.
"I think that's all for tonight," Agnes said, giving you a kind smile. "As always, prepare, purify, for tomorrow could be the day we possess the ash."
You watched as the coven departed, their expressions somber, their shoulders hunched, each carrying the burden of your coven. You felt a wave of guilt wash over you, wondering if there was something more you could have done. If you should have tried harder, found a quicker solution.
"Are you okay, child?" Agnes asked, placing a hand on your shoulder.
"I'm fine," you assured her, mustering a small smile. "I'll get the ash, I promise,"
Agnes smiled, giving your shoulder a gentle squeeze..
"Do whatever it takes, sweet girl, and stay safe, we need you for the ritual," Agnes said, patting your shoulder before leaving the room.
You looked over at the altar, the candles casting flickering shadows across the walls, the vines, and leaves twisting and twining around each other. It was beautiful, and it filled you with a sense of peace.
You had made a commitment, a promise to your coven, and you were going to do everything you could to keep it.
It was an odd feeling, to walk around town on the arm of a man that everyone hated and feared. People's heads turned as you passed, and whispers filled the air. You wanted to tell them that you were on their side, that you would fight for them, for their freedom. But you knew it would only cause more trouble.
Days had turned to weeks, turned to months. Each one the same, each night spent in his arms. And yet, every time he held you, kissed you, whispered words of love, it felt like the first time.
You felt like two people.
There was the you that he knew. The one who smiled, and laughed with him. The one who melted into his strong arms. Who listened to his stories, his plans, his dreams. The one who woke up beside him, hair tousled and with eyes full of sleep. The one who loved him, even if you weren't supposed to.
And then, there was the other you. The one who had a duty. The one who had a purpose, a mission, a destiny to wipe out his family. The one who had to lie, deceive, betray him.
Neither of them felt like you. Neither of them felt right. Both felt like an act. Like a betrayal.
The worst part was the way he looked at you. Like you were the only thing that mattered, the only thing he cared about. You were raised to hate him, to expect cruelty, violence, abuse. And yet, here he was, always so gentle, kind and affectionate. It made it hard to believe the things your coven had told you.
He was charming, witty, and intelligent. He made you laugh, he made you feel safe, and cherished. He was nothing like the monster you had expected, nothing like the one the others spoke of. If he wasn't an abomination, you could see yourself falling in love with him.
You couldn't.
You shouldn't.
But you did.
And it would only make what you were about to do, that much harder.

Come Back to Me - Mephiston x F! Reader
Wrote this for the beautiful @solspina : I hope I did your man justice :)
Sypnosis: Following a psychic breakdown, the only person who can bring Mepheston back from the brink is his beloved.
C/W: Blood, angst, reverse hurt/comfort, I've only read Dante's novels so my knowledge of Mephiston is second hand at best, I did do some research and I'm confident in how I wrote him but I apologise in advance for the inevitable ooc and lore inaccurate moments XP, unedited so probably errors and typos scattered about.
Mephiston bleeds.
Blood flows untempered from his nose. It leaks from his ears. The taste of copper coats his tongue and fangs, and tears streaked with red tumble in streams down his cheeks. His soul is bleeding, too. Punctured by the warp, he can feel what little is left of his humanity pouring out into the void to be devoured by the unspoken horrors that call it home.
But he does not stop. He can't. For if he were to fail now, the flagship Covenant of Baal, as well as half of Lord Dante's entire fleet would be lost in the warp forever.
His brothers are relying on him to get them home. Trusting him to get them through the warp unscathed. He must not fail them. He mustn't.
"Lord Mephiston!"
A deep voice made tight by fear breaks through Mephiston's reverie. A space marine; a librarian. Mephiston searches for a name, but his mind hasn't the strength to find it.
"My lord!" the librarian shouts again. "The ritual is unstable. We must leave the warp. Now!"
"No." Amplified by the warp and his own, growing fury, Mephiston's voice booms like a war drum. "Baal is close. I can feel it. A few moments longer and we will be there."
"You'll kill yourself, my lord! Or worse, you'll-"
Mephiston cuts him off with a growl. He knows what the librarian is insinuating; that should he loose control of his powers, he could kill everyone on this ship. The marine isn't wrong, Mephiston understands that better than anyone. But that doesn't stop it from stinging just a little when it is brought up.
Which is why I must succeed now. I must not fail my brothers. I must show them they can rely on me. That they can trust me.
The librarian continues to shout his warnings, but Mephiston is no longer listening. The pull he feels towards his destination is strengthening. When he looks out through the infinite dark of the void before him, he can see Baal outlined in red.
So close.
Pain takes him in a vice-like grip. His body seizes. Daemons rake their claws down his soul. They're feeding off his power, he realises. Preparing to use him as a gateway into the material world. In his weakened, exhausted state, Mephiston isn't sure if he can fight them off.
Through the cloud of psychic agony, he remembers words spoken to him by Lord Dante, just days ago.
"You are my friend, Mephiston, but know this. Should you ever become a threat to this chapter or humanity at large, I will strike you down myself."
Dante had said it as a vow. Not only as a leader, but as a friend. It pains Mephiston as much as the creatures tearing into his soul. He wonders if the librarians are seeking out the chapter master so he may fulfill that vow now.
A daemon sinks its fangs into him. He feels them puncture his hearts and shear through what's left of his strength. He screams. Eyes slamming shut, chest heaving from the pain. His mind is determined to hold on, but his body is failing. The strain is too much. It seems the librarian- still Mephiston can't recall his name- had been right.
"Meph? Can you hear me?"
I am sorry, my brothers. I am sorry, my beloved. I was not strong enough. I believed that I was, but I am not.
Her voice cannot hope to pierce the cacophony that is the warp. Yet, somehow, it does.
"Just focus on me, Meph."
Throne, her voice is beautiful. It was one of the first things he'd noticed about her. Wielding both strength and kindness in equal parts, just like her heart.
"You can do this, Mephiston," she says to him. "You can break free. You always do. Just come back to me. Like you always do."
Mephiston opens his eyes. Amidst the haze of psychic madness, the planet Baal remains tantalisingly near. But Mephiston is not searching for it any more. He's searching for her.
"I love you, Meph," she says. "I love you so much. No matter what happens to you or how much you change, I love you all the same."
In spite of everything he is enduring right now, her words pull at Mephiston's hearts like nothing else ever could. It drive him to go faster. Push harder. Tear his way free from the warp and get back to her. It means cutting the warp-jump short; there will be questions from the captains, maybe even Lord Dante himself. It means failing his duty, failing his brothers. But Mephiston does not care. He would rather fail them all a thousand times than cause his woman pain.
The shift from the warp to the real is near instant, and far less physically taxing that vice versa. Typically, it'd be as simple as opening one's eyes. But Mephiston is weakened, his body on the brink of total failure. The real world returns with the force of a whip, and immediately, Mephiston's world is dominated by agony.
The Lord of Death falls to his knees. Blood spills from his eyes and nose. His long silver hair clings to the sweat pouring off his shoulders and chest. His vision blurs. The room begins to spin. Again, Mephiston feels himself falling. This time, though, a pair of soft, nimble hands catch him.
"Easy, Meph. Easy. I've got you."
Her tone is gentle. Her voice, as soft as her touch. Her body trembles under his weight. In spite of his hurts, Mephiston pushes himself upright so as not to lean on her anymore. She frames his face with her hands. He can see tears in her eyes. "Gauis!" she shouts. "Fetch an Apothecary."
The librarian called Gauis nods and takes off without another word. Mephiston realises he was the same librarian who'd been shouting warnings at him before.
With Gauis gone, it is only the two of them here, now. It's then that she throws her arms around Mepheston's neck and drags him into a crushing embrace. "You silly, silly man," she whispers. Mephiston realises she is weeping. "Don't you ever do that to me again. Ever."
She squeezes him tighter. The sleeves of her shirt are growing stained with his sweat and blood, but she doesn't seem to care. Though he barely has the strength to raise him arms, Mephiston returns her embrace in earnest. "I am sorry, my sweet." His voice is thick with fatigue and emotion. He hates it when she cries. He hates it even more when he is the cause. "I thought I had it. I have done this so many times before, I-"
"I don't care." Arms still wrapped around his neck, she draws away just enough so as to meet his eye. Her hands find the base of his scalp. Ever so gently, she strokes him there. "The next time Gauis tells you to cut a ritual short," she tells him. "You listen. If not for your own safety, then for my own peace of mind."
Mephiston looks at her. Since his transformation, his hearts have lost much of their capacity for compassion. But what shreds are leftover belong solely to her. Every piece of him that is still human, still a man, loves her as fiercely as they possibly can. All of this, he lets show in his face. It almost moves him to tears. "I will," he says. "I promise."
She smiles at him. It's the most gorgeous thing he's ever seen. Ignoring the blood plastering his face, she leans in and kisses Mephiston, so fiercely it makes his jaw ache. Mephiston struggles to return it in kind, almost tipping over backward from the force with which she presses into him. He winces as the room sways again. She catches his head and guides him to the floor. "It's okay, Meph. You're okay." Gently, she lowers herself down beside him. "The Apothecary will be here soon. For now, just rest."
Without thinking, Mephiston reaches for her hand. She takes it in both of hers and squeezes it tight. "Thank you, " he murmurs.
She brushes her lips across his knuckles. "You know you don't need to thank me. Not now, not ever."

Sweet Dreams
❝ You dream about a beautiful man nearly every time you fall asleep. After getting to know him and everything about him, you see him outside of your dreams—in a museum painting. ❞
PAIRING: joshua hong x female reader
GENRE: vampire au, reincarnation au, angst, smut
WORD COUNT: 10.1k
WARNINGS: vampire!joshua, human!reader, lucid dreaming, reincarnation, so much yearning, mentions of death, joshua is a brooding mess, protective!minghao, unprotected sex, blood play, biting, creampies
A/N: this has been long overdue, and i hope you guys like it! loosely based off this ask. MINORS DO NOT INTERACT!
Fate.
A simple word that holds more power and venerability than any ruler of the middle kingdom. It’s a mystifying concept that follows no rules and simply is; something that can actively be changed but not avoided. Joshua learns this late in his long life—a derailment of his own making. The lesson comes to him in the form of a fiery witch running from her death.
As a creature that’s lived in solitude since he became immortal, it’s not in his nature to be helpful. It’s why he has no interest in saving the witch from the demons that are hunting her. This, however, doesn’t stop the insolent little witch from forcing herself into his sanctuary. He fights her on it, baring his fangs while saying the most despicable and bone chilling threats to her. The young witch isn’t fazed and makes it clear that he doesn’t have a choice in the matter.
In the end, he concedes. Not because she’s powerful enough to make him obey her, but because she reminds Joshua of himself when he was desperately clinging to his own survival. Perhaps that’s the reason he becomes inexplicably drawn to her. Josh almost feels like she’s bewitched him, and the most unusual part of it all is that he doesn’t care even if that is the case.
He seeks her out after he helps her despite knowing that it can’t possibly end well. Their kinds don’t mix, and it’s doubtful that two abominations can share something as sacred and beautiful as love. Fate has never allowed it before, but Joshua is foolish enough to try to defy destiny.
Courting the witch isn’t easy. Then again, anything that involves her never is. The witch is a firm believer in being reverent to the same fates that gave her the powers she wields while Joshua couldn’t care less about the fates that turned him into a monstrosity. This creates a disconnect between them because the witch is firm that she could never love such an irreverent creature.
This hardly deters him. Joshua is relentless in his chase, and after the longest decade of his life he’s finally able to win the witch’s thorn-covered heart.
And so, even just for the briefest moments, they’re allowed to create their own destiny with each other.
Loving someone, loving her, is the most addicting feeling he’s ever felt. The love he feels for the witch surpasses even that of his first love who he was convinced he’d never forget. Being with her is the happiest Joshua has ever felt, and he naively thinks it’ll last forever.
This all comes to an abrupt end when the witch finds out that it’s his fault the demons eradicated her coven. Yes, it was before Josh had met and fell in love with her, but that doesn’t change anything. It was still him who had put her on the brink of death and gotten her family and friends killed. Twisted as it is, he doesn’t regret his actions nor would he change them if he had an opportunity to do so.
And so, the love of his life becomes his most dangerous enemy.
It hurts. More so because she discards him and his love like they never meant anything in the first place.
The witch is cutthroat in her hatred. It’s not long before the children of the moon find his sanctuary and nearly send him to meet his maker. Her hexes nearly incapacitate him, but even all her acts of revenge aren’t enough to satiate the vengeance she seeks.
Slowly, the love they grew to feel for each other becomes wilted and corroded beyond repair.
Years pass, yet the feud never dies. Joshua is almost impressed by her determination to destroy him the same way he almost destroyed her.
Hatred has replaced love by now, and it’s almost impossible for him to believe he ever loved the witch in the first place. A decade passes, then two and three until eventually an entire century goes by with the two of them feeling this burning loathing. Their detrimental feelings and behavior push both Joshua and the witch to make a vow never to love again.
But fate has other plans for them.
As time goes on, they find themselves backed into a corner—together this time. Death has returned for them in the form of faes. Neither one of them is willing to relent and give up their land to the insignificant creatures who claimed to have it first. And so, they help each other one last time.
Fighting against inferior creatures together has always been like dancing for them, and it’s easy to fall back into a love language they created. By the end of their battle, they come out victorious. The two are grateful to each other even if neither of them say it outright.
Joshua feels a familiar ache in his chest the longer he stares at the witch who was once his. Feelings he thought were long gone rush back to the surface as if they’d never left in the first place. Perhaps they never really had. He’s never been one to go against his own desires, and so he reaches out for her, craving her skin against his if even for the last time.
Their embrace is sweet, but the kiss that follows is full of passion, longing, and ardent love that seems to have been buried deep within them the entire time. It’s almost like a dream to have her like this again, and now Joshua doesn’t plan on letting her go.
But once again, fate doesn’t leave him with a choice.
Humans grow more wary of the creatures they share the world with. Many go into hiding, but Joshua makes the mistake of thinking he can blend in with his prey. A hunter of his kind has found him, and as a vampire with no coven, he’s left vulnerable. It’s even worse when the hunter and his clan discover his lover and what she is.
It was a peaceful night when they’re attacked. Escaping death doesn’t seem possible, but as always the witch assured him that she has a solution. His love makes him a promise as she casts a spell that will hide his presence. A promise that she’ll find him and reunite with him in every lifetime. He’s confused by her words, but has no time to question her as the spell takes over and dulls his senses until he’s unconscious.
If he’d known his love was going to sacrifice herself for him, he would’ve taken a million wooden stakes to the heart rather than continue existing in a world without her.
Centuries later, he’s never been able to forget her or what her presence had done to his life. Joshua is left alone in a world that now seems intolerable without his witch in it. Cruel irony reminds him that the solitude he once basked in feels suffocating now. All he’s left with is a gaping hole that constantly reminds him of how he lost his one true love.
Joshua eventually joins a coven, but they offer little comfort. At this point in his immortality, he only sticks around them out of habit. It’s not that he isn’t fond of them—he is, most of the time—but it’s not the same as having his lover by his side.
After going through the eternal test of time, Joshua still yearns for her; craves her as much as the blood that he feeds on. It’s the reason he’s spent the last two centuries looking for the one person who filled his heart with so much love.
And he’ll stop at nothing until he finds her.
The first time it happened, you thought it was nothing more than a dream.
Which it was, but it felt different—it was different. Never in your life had you dreamt such a beautiful dream that felt so real and almost indistinguishable from reality. The most memorable part was the euphoric feeling it evoked from you.
Well, that’s not exactly right. There was one single element that had left you unable to forget the lucid dream. One that you believed was responsible for your subconscious forcing you into those dreams every time you fell asleep.
Unhealthy as it is, you chase the lucid dreams. Every night, you look forward to your sleep with the hope of once again being wrapped up in one of those lovely dreams. Any free time you’re left with is used to sleep just so you can escape to the ethereal dreamland your mind has created.
The dreams have ensnared you and make you crave and long for them as if you’re under some sort of spell. It’s become a bit of an obsession because even when you’re with other people it’s all you can think about. And yet you’re unable to let go of your obsession in spite of how unhealthy and irrational it is.
The scene in front of you is familiar, but you can’t place where you’ve seen the old castle that looks like it’s straight out of the medieval times. You step forward, feet moving on their own as you walk past the large doors. Servants run along with their head down, and you’re not sure why it makes you feel satisfied that they seem to be terrified of you.
“Y/N.”
You turn at the sound of a mellifluous voice. Once again, it’s the beautiful man who’d been visiting you in your dreams.
“Shua.” You call affectionately, running to him as he opens his arms for you.
As always, he catches you easily. You wrap your arms around his neck, softly giggling into his hair as he spins you around. “Where have you brought me this time?”
“This is where I live.” He tells you as you pull back to look at his face. “Do you like it?”
You look around again. The feeling of familiarity doesn’t go away as you inspect your surroundings. Joshua gently puts you down, but doesn’t release you from his embrace. His stare is gentle and observant, curious on how you’re going to react to what he’s showing you.
“This is really where you live?” You wonder in awe. “Are you a king or something?”
His pretty laugh makes you look back at him. Your heart leaps up into your throat when you see the fond look he’s giving you. It’s been months of being on the receiving end of his affectionate stare, but you’re not sure you’ll stop feeling bashful when you catch it.
“I am not. Does that disappoint you?”
You shake your head. “No, but it does make me wonder how old you actually are. Older than Dracula?”
All Josh can do is laugh and laugh. You’re not sure what he finds so funny, but as usual you do not get the chance to ask. The familiar pressure on your bones gets more intense with every passing moment. It’s how you know you’re on the verge of being pulled out of your blissful dream. You can’t even open your mouth to say goodbye because you’re abruptly yanked out of your subconscious before you can.
It’s always hard to keep going on with your day normally after you dream about Josh. You can never really function afterwards, not how you usually would.
“—even listening to me?”
You snap back into reality, realizing that Jeonghan has been talking to you this entire time. “Sorry. What were you saying?”
Jeonghan rolls his eyes and gives you an accusatory look that confuses you. His eyebrows are raised as he leans forward. “I was saying that Soonyoung thinks you’re fucking someone.”
“What?” You splutter, suddenly feeling extremely flustered.
“I told him there’s no way that’s true because lately you’ve been holed up in your room sleeping every chance you get!”
You manage to not choke on your spit and give your friend an indignant glare. “Both you and Soonyoung need to worry about your own sex lives.”
The gleam in his eye changes, and you realize too late that you’ve made a mistake. “Wait. Are you actually fucking someone?”
“You know I’m not!” You hiss, starting to feel embarrassed.
Clearly, Jeonghan doesn’t believe you. He stares at you before something seems to click in his head. Your nervous stare and angry pout are telltale signs of deceit. His jaw drops a bit as he lets out an affronted squeak.
“No way. That’s why you’ve been in such a good mood lately!” He says with a conniving laugh. “And here I thought that night cream I recommended is the reason you’ve been glowing lately.”
Maybe the most embarrassing part about this is not that he’s trying to discuss your sex life (or lack thereof) at the local cafe and not wine night, but the fact that this alleged glow has nothing to do with a man—not a real one, anyway. But Jeonghan doesn’t need to know that.
“You would’ve heard me if that was true.”
Jeonghan’s ears slowly turn red as he pouts in disappointment. He really hoped you’d managed to break your three month long dry spell, and he also wanted to be right. It’s almost suspicious that he isn’t because he usually is. You’ve been a little too smiley lately like you have some hidden lover.
“If you say so.” He mutters bitterly.
This would be the point where you’d usually panic since Yoon Jeonghan can never be one to let anything go if he feels like he’s right. You feel at ease though because there’s no way he could ever find out about Josh.
“By the way… you’re definitely going to be gone this weekend, right?” Jeonghan suddenly asks in a tone you recognize all too well.
You try not to gag as you nod. “Yes. I already bought the tickets and Hao is in the city setting up his apartment so I have a place to stay while I’m up there.”
Jeonghan smirks victoriously. He nods, not even trying to hide how pleased he is as he pulls out his phone. Suddenly, he’s very grateful that you and Minghao have such an interest in history. When he’s done sending a message you would definitely call sleazy, he just laughs at your disgusted expression.
“Don’t give me that look. Not all of us have to practice celibacy like you.”
“Whatever.” You scoff with a roll of your eyes. “Just keep it in your room this time. I better not find any stains on the couch when I get back.”
He only laughs at you with a promise that you can’t think of as sincere.
“Are you playing with your food again?”
The voice sounds distant as Joshua is gently pulled out of the trance he’s used to being in now. He slow blinks, remnants of the beautiful vision still clear in his mind. Junhui’s words don’t bother him like they usually would’ve. Not when he finally feels alive for the first time in centuries. Still, he can’t control the annoyance he feels that his brother thinks this subject is something that can be joked and talked about lightly.
“You and Soonyoung are the only heathens who play with food.” Joshua’s tone is clipped, bordering on that murderous one that pops up any time someone mentions his latest obsession.
Junhui only laughs, head cocking to the side in interest. “I’m curious. Did you really find the grand love of your life, or is it just some girl who happens to look like her?”
“His obsession wouldn’t be so profound if it was a girl who merely looks like her.” Comes a voice from the top of the grand stairs.
They look up to see the oldest and the youngest of the coven coming down the stairs. Soonyoung doesn’t bother to hide his amused smirk while Minghao wears the same impassive expression he had when Joshua met him. His lack of reaction is the reason why he’s often the voice of reason in the coven, but his callous way of speaking never offers any comfort.
“Our brother is looking for the soul of his beloved—a soul that cannot be replicated nor imitated. Even if he’s to find her doppelgänger, he will not love her completely or sincerely.” Minghao says he takes a seat near the burning fireplace.
Soonyoung sits on the other end of the couch before he raises an eyebrow at Josh. He lets out a mocking snicker. “It’s giving stalker.”
As the most recently turned, their youngest has developed a proclivity for imitating the current slang. Joshua understands it (to an extent), but finds it folly. Then again, he doesn’t think its ridiculous when that person uses it.
But of course, that’s different.
Josh doesn’t bother to sneer at him for his snide remark. As a creature who hasn’t found a mate in the entire century he’s been alive, Soonyoung couldn’t possibly understand the ardent need to be close to the person chosen to be your mate.
“You still haven’t answered my question.” Junhui points out, sounding almost bored now. “Have you found her? Your one true love?”
When Joshua smiles, it’s so pretty that even Minghao can’t help but stare. “I have.”
“Are you going to turn her?”
Soonyoung’s question hangs in the air, and as much as Josh wants to hiss at him to mind his own business, he sees how Junhui and Minghao are also looking at him. Turning someone isn’t as simple as it used to be—if it could ever be considered simple. Now there were too many factors and too many risks involved.
“I have to find her physically before I can think of anything else.” Josh sighs deeply.
“Brother.” Minghao says in his serious tone. “Think of your next moves carefully. You’ve found her reincarnation, but she doesn’t remember you, and there’s no guarantee that she ever will.”
For once, the younger ones don’t say anything teasing or goading. They look at him just as solemnly as Minghao is. It’s a harsh truth that Joshua had acknowledged long ago but not fully accepted.
His love doesn’t remember him. This is a fact.
But even if she never does, he doesn’t plan on letting her go. Not again.
“You’re unhappy.”
The observation is astute, and even though it’s been months, you can’t get used to how easily Josh can see through you. It shouldn’t have the affect on you that it does, but there’s just something about having someone know you so well that makes your heart jerk with emotion. Part of you feels insane for feeling this way because this man is just a figment of your imagination created by your subconscious.
Josh smiles placatingly when he sees your pout. He’s sure that you’re not aware that you do it, which makes it all the more cute in his eyes.
“Work hasn’t been great lately.” You say honestly, only hesitating a moment before telling him the rest. “Also... Jeonghan set me up on this blind date. Which wouldn’t be a big deal, but I haven’t been on a date in forever.”
You’re not sure why it feels like you’re saying something absolutely heart wrenching. If you had to describe it, it’s almost like you’re admitting to cheating or something similar which is fucking insane since Josh isn’t your boyfriend—or real, for that matter.
There’s a shift in his kind eyes. A cold rage settles in the depths of his dark irises that makes you feel like you’re staring an evil creature in the face. Before you can ponder it, the expression is is gone so fast that you almost think you imagined it.
“You don’t have to go.” He finally says, and you wonder if he actually sounds like he’s pleading or if it’s just something your subconscious is hoping for.
A teasing smile stretches your lips. “Yeah? Should I just stay here with you, instead?”
Joshua wishes he could say yes. Stay with me and never leave my side again. The words are on the tip of his tongue, and even though he’s dying to say them, he knows he shouldn’t. In this lifetime and your previous one, he had to be patient when courting you. Clearly some things never changed.
“Don’t look so excited.” You joke when you see him hesitate.
His laugh is pretty and soft. You’re not sure why the sound comforts you in a way that almost feels familiar. As if that’s the one sound that could take away any horrible feeling you’ve ever experienced. The longer you listen to the dulcet sound, the more it makes your heart ache for a reason you can’t understand. It’s a type of yearning that feels deeper than the normalcy of seeing him every day.
“I wish you weren’t a dream.”
Joshua’s laughter dies down and the smile slips off his face at hearing your words. You almost regret saying them, but it’s too late to take them back. Not that you would since they’re the absolute truth. He knows you better than most of your friends do, and it’s hard not to feel this intense affection for him. The crazy part of it all is that you can literally feel how much he adores you too.
“Maybe you’re my dream.” Josh’s smile is full of longing and sadness.
Before you can respond, you’re abruptly pulled out of the dream by the blaring sound of a car horn. You startle awake, bleary vision belatedly registering that you’re now in the city. Minghao looks at you with wide eyes, a startled laugh slipping past his lips. “Are you okay?”
You nod wearily, taking a moment to shake of the intense emotions your dream had left you with. It’s clear that Minghao doesn’t fully believe you, but he doesn’t press the subject and keeps driving toward museum.
Being at the museum doesn’t help you as much as you hope. The artifacts and paintings are intriguing, but your irritating mind only keeps associating everything with Josh. He’s always talked like someone from another time so looking at ancient items and old paintings naturally makes you keep picturing his face.
“For someone who kept begging me to clear my schedule so we could come here, you don’t look very excited.”
You give Minghao a guilty look because you know how busy he is. “Sorry. I’m just kind of distracted.”
“And why is that?”
It’s not that you don’t trust Minghao. You do, but you can’t tell him that you’re infatuated with a man who shows up in your dreams.
“I haven’t been sleeping well.”
Your friend raises an eyebrow at you. As usual Minghao sees right through your half-truth. “You’ve been having nightmares?”
“Not exactly.” You say. The resolve to keep your secret quickly dissolved when Minghao gives you a look that somehow always compels you to do what he wants. “I can’t sleep because I keep dreaming of a guy.”
“A guy?” Minghao raises his eyebrows in a way that reminds you of Jeonghan.
“It’s not like that.” You say, skin heating up in embarrassment. “I don’t even think he’s real. He just keeps appearing in my dreams, and I feel crazy every time I think about him.”
Minghao doesn’t laugh or tell you you’re crazy. Instead he looks at you with a sharpened gaze that looks like it holds a certain amount of concern and something else you can’t discern. If his heart was capable of beating, his heart rate would’ve spiked at the information you told him.
You’re vague in your description (which was impressive because his gift is powerful enough to get people to admit to murder), but it’s enough to have his mind reeling. Is it possible that you’d fallen into the clutches of an incubus? Minghao isn’t overly fond of humans, but you’re different. He can’t let you become the prey of such a lascivious creature.
“I have some tea that’s good for sleeping." He says as normally as he can as you two walk along the museum. “When we get back to my place, I’ll give you some.”
You nod silently, not entirely sure if his teas will help with your lucid dreaming. Even if they did, it’s not like you want to stop seeing this imaginary man that makes you feel more loved than you ever had. But there’s a part of you that knows you can’t keep sleeping with the hopes of seeing Josh again.
The inner turmoil you’re feeling is interrupted when Minghao pulls you to the section he’d been dying to see from the beginning. His laughter immediately makes you come back down to earth. It’s not like your friend never laughs, but this one is full and louder than you’ve ever heard it. You’re not sure why he finds the painting of a duke so funny. Just as you’re about to question him, you see the painting and feel the world around you come to a stop.
It feels like your heart stopped beating and dropped down to your stomach. Your usually quiet mind is reeling, trying to fathom what you’re seeing. There’s no way.
The painting is of a man, but not just any man.
It’s Josh.
Your Josh.
You keep blinking as if another face will appear in the very old painting. If you felt crazy before, the feeling worsens the longer you stare at the oils that form the face you’ve come to memorize and love. The description of the painting says the man born in 1714 was a famous duke notorious for starting a rebellion against the crown.
“So this is the only painting of the Hong Jisoo?” Your friend cackles, but you’re not sure what’s so funny.
It’s good that he’s so distracted by whatever it is he finds so funny because you’re about two seconds away from breaking down. How is it possible that some duke from centuries ago was appearing in your dreams? Is it possible that you’d somehow seen his image before and projected it into your dreams? You don’t remember even reading about him, and it only makes you feel more crazy.
Back at Minghao’s luxury apartment, you can’t stop thinking about that stupid painting of Hong Jisoo. How is it possible for you to dream about a person that was alive centuries ago? It doesn’t make sense, and the more you think about it, the more freaked out you feel.
“Here.” Hao says as he hands you a warm mug of tea. “Drink it to see if it helps. I’ll give you some to take home if you like it.”
You thank him, really hoping this puts an end to your unhealthy dreams.
“It’s not working!” Josh growls angrily. “There’s something blocking me from seeing her. I’m sure of it.”
Soonyoung and Junhui roll their eyes. Josh has been complaining about not being able to transcend into his true love’s subconscious for the last three hours, and it’s starting to drive them insane. It’s not that they’re not sympathetic, but it was quite literally the only thing the older vampire could talk about. Not to mention the fact that after months of visiting his mate every day, he did nothing to figure out where she was—a total waste in their opinion.
Before Josh can keep repeating the same frustrated things he’s been griping about all morning, they hear the door open and the familiar sound of boots clacking against the marble floor.
“Minghao!” Soonyoung cries when the oldest of the coven walks into the living room. “Finally, you’re back! Jisoo hasn’t stopped whining about his mate since you left! You need to put a stop to him!”
Minghao sets down his suitcases with an exhausted sigh. “What’s going on?”
“He claims there’s a barrier preventing him from entering his mate’s subconscious.” Junhui explains, sending a skeptical look Joshua’s way. “Which is impossible because a mere human isn’t capable of blocking his gift.”
While that is true, there are certain things humans have done for centuries to ward off creatures of the night. However, it is strange that there’s a sudden block to his mate’s subconscious after being left vulnerable for so many months.
“Perhaps your mate has realized that you’re a nefarious creature and not just a figment of her imagination.” Minghao muses as he goes to sit at his usual place by the fire. “If that’s the case, she may have sought out a witch to block her psyche from unsavory visitors.”
The dark look Josh sends his way is amusing to the rest. Maybe it’s cruel to disregard the anguish his brother clearly feels, but being empathetic has never been one of Minghao’s character traits. Even so, some of the humanity he once had still lingers within him.
“However, if you truly wish to find her I can contact Jihoon—”
“No.” Josh snaps immediately. The growl in his voice is menacing as his eyes darken. “I’ll find her on my own.”
The silence that follows is tense until Soonyoung breaks it by insisting on seeing pictures from Minghao’s trip. As always, he obliges to the youngest’s request, tossing his phone over without taking his eyes off Josh.
“If that were possible you would have already found her.”
It’s a frustrating truth. He hadn’t been able to figure out anything that would help him find you because he didn’t want to scare you off. Now he regrets playing the part of a gentleman because it feels like he’s lost you all over again.
“Is this the human you’re always talking about?”
Usually, Josh doesn’t take any interest in humans aside from his meals, but the way Minghao’s sharp gaze switches to an almost fond one intrigues him enough to look at the screen Soonyoung is holding out toward them.
It’s like his heartbeat comes back to life when he sees a video of a beautiful girl staring at one of his old swords.
“Yes. That’s—”
“Y/N.”
Minghao looks at Josh in surprise. He’s incredulous, but it’s soon replaced by horror when he realizes why his brother is looking at the phone with a predatory gaze.
“You…” Minghao’s icy tone makes the younger ones still. They recognize the murderous intent behind that tone instantly. “You’re the one who’s been invading her dreams.”
Josh snarls at his oldest friend. “You’re the one responsible for the barrier.”
It’s like watching two animals raising their hackles at one another. Except both of them are capable of destroying each other and everything around them without caring.
Junhui is quick to step in, holding a firm hand to Minghao’s chest. “She’s his mate.”
It’s meant to make him see reason, but all it does is anger Minghao.
“A mate that he betrayed time and time again!” His words make them all flinch. “You’re the reason those hunters found her and burned her alive!”
Never has a silence so thick and tense surrounded them before. It’s a low blow to bring up Josh’s greatest pain in such a way, but Minghao is beyond seeing reason at this point.
“Both of you need to calm down.” Soonyoung says as he stands in the middle.
“Do you have feelings for her?” Josh demands, not understanding why the person who had helped him search for his mate’s reincarnation for centuries was suddenly acting this way.
“She’s a pure soul.” Minghao says, sounding a little defeated. “One that doesn’t deserve to become a monster like us.”
It’s tense and silent again, but this time the air feels different. All four of them knew how painful and awful it was to turn. Back then, they had been the unlucky ones to survive an attack when they were meant to be someone’s food. Minghao wouldn’t wish that on anyone, least of all you.
“Let her decide.” Soonyoung breaks the silence, being reasonable for the first time in a long time. He looks to Josh, gaze as serious as ever. “If you really love her, tell her the truth and let her decide what to do.”
Minghao has always been an enigma. He’s private to the point where you sometimes feel like you don’t know him at all. It’s why you’re so surprised when he invites you over to his main house which is basically synonymous with prohibited. He never invites anyone there, not even Jeonghan who’s known him longer than you have.
Your friend’s home is expectedly opulent and beautiful, but there’s also this ominous air surrounding it. Minghao remains silent as he leads you to the entrance. His somber attitude isn’t exactly uncharacteristic. He’s naturally quiet and serious, but right now he almost seems angry. You can tell his mind is far away, light years away even.
Before you can think to question him, he leads you to the living room and sits you down on one of the couches. His cold hands don’t move from your shoulders even after you’re seated. You look up at him in curiosity because he seems to be contemplating something.
“Don’t be angry with me.” His tone is softer than you’ve ever heard it, and you have to wonder what he’s done for him to plead with you like this. (Xu Minghao does not beg.)
Hands fall from your shoulders as Minghao side steps out of the way. Everything goes in slow motion from then on. He’s stepped out of the way to reveal a man who you recognize very well. Your heart jumps and starts to beat erratically as you take in his ethereal features.
What’s happening feels like a more intense version of what happened at the museum. Minghao’s friend(?) looks exactly like Josh. He even looks at you like Josh does.
“Y/N.”
The organ in your chest throbs at the sound because it’s so soft and pretty, just like it is in your dreams. He sounds so similar to Josh that you feel insane for wanting to run into this man’s arms like you always do with Josh in your dreams.
Your mind is a beat behind, and it’s only after this stranger called your name that you realize Minghao had apologized to you before he appeared. When you look over to your friend, he’s observing you carefully in a way you can’t understand.
“What’s going on? What is this?” You ask, feeling like you’ve been set up.
There’s a thick silence, and just when you contemplate on getting up to leave, the unknown guy falls to his knees in front of you.
“Please forgive me.”
Your eyes practically pop out of your head at the unsolicited apology. “I– What?”
The silence is uncomfortable, and you can only look back to Minghao for an explanation.
“You’ve seen Jisoo before—in your dreams.” Minghao says slowly as if it pains him to tell you.
Jisoo?
“When you told me that a man kept reappearing in your dreams, I thought you were being preyed on by an incubus.” Minghao chuckles bitterly. “But I was a fool not to see that the truth was much worse.”
“Incubus?” You whisper incredulously. “You mean those demons that fuck people while they’re asleep?”
Neither men react to your crude words. They’re looking at you solemnly as if Minghao didn’t just say something completely insane. None of it makes sense nor does it provide you with the explanation you demanded.
“You can’t be serious! Incubuses—“
“Incubi.” Minghao corrects you. He regrets it as soon as he sees the dark look on your face.
“—don’t exist.” You finish through gritted teeth.
“They’re not the only demons running rampant on this earth.” Minghao says as he shares a look with the man who is still kneeling in front of you. “Just look at the monster in front of you and you’ll know what I’m saying is true.”
This Jisoo guy looks nothing like a monster. Not even as he’s giving your friend the most withering glare you’ve ever seen.
“Don’t give me that look. I brought her here so she can know the truth.”
At this point, you don’t know if they’re friends or enemies with the way they’re glowering at each other. And you still don’t know what truth they’re talking about, either.
“Jisoo has been trying to find you for centuries.” Minghao finally says, eyes softening just the tiniest bit when he looks back at you.
You don’t say anything because it all sounds like some crazy lie. Minghao isn’t the type to pull pranks, but there’s no other logical explanation for what’s happening. And yet, it also isn’t possible that he could know what the man from your dreams looked like and somehow find someone who looks exactly like him for his prank.
“We’re vampires.” Jisoo says, voice soft and comforting. “I know it sounds crazy, but it’s true.”
“Prove it.”
Your words come out before you can stop them. It’s not what you meant to say (not right away, anyway), but you don’t try to backtrack. On the off chance that they’re not pulling some elaborate prank, you need to know that you’re not crazy for kind of believing what they’re saying.
Minghao and Jisoo are looking at you with wide eyes, but the challenging look on your face doesn’t waver. They both know you enough to realize you aren’t going to believe them until they prove that they’re not lying.
Jisoo grins, but it seems bitter in a way. “Okay. Just… don’t be scared.”
You raise an eyebrow when his smile stretches further. It’s not until you see four of his teeth elongating into literal fangs that you feel your pulse start to race. His eyes have darkened into an inhuman shade of black that reminds you of a demon. Now you understood what Minghao meant when he called Jisoo a monster.
But that also means…
In a panic, you look to your friend. Much to your horror, he too is bearing those monstrous characteristics now. Dark eyes and fangs that make them look like the monsters they claim to be. It feels like you’re in one of your lucid dreams, and in the back of your mind you hope that’s what this is.
“Did you bring me here to kill me?” You’re surprised that your voice comes out as calm as it does, and even though you’re terrified, you can’t react how you know you should be.
“We would never hurt you.” Jisoo says, features slowly reverting back to normal. “No matter what, I won’t let anyone or anything bring you harm.”
It’s crazy that he’s promising you this with what feels like genuine sincerity, and it’s even crazier that it makes your chest warm with affection. You press your lips together, trying to make sense of how any of this is actually possible.
“You’re the reincarnation of Jisoo’s true love.” Minghao breaks the heavy silence. “He’s been searching for your soul since your untimely death.”
“That’s why you came into my dreams.” You whisper, not sure how to feel about this alleged truth.
“Yes.” Jisoo says, voice soft as ever. “I called myself Josh since it’s a modern name. You can still call me that if you wish.”
You stay silent, trying to deal with the onslaught of emotions you’re feeling without revealing any on your face. It’s hard, but you manage as you look back at your friend. “And you knew about this the entire time?”
“I didn’t know he’d been invading your dreams.” Minghao says honestly. “If I had—”
Minghao cuts his sentence short, and you can tell he’s trying his best to keep his emotions in check. It’s clear that he doesn’t like the idea of you being the reincarnation of Josh’s true love. You don’t understand why he brought you to meet him if that’s the case.
“Minghao.” Josh’s tone takes a threatening tone that you never thought him capable of emitting.
“Tell her.” Minghao says, clearly unfazed by Joshua’s sudden malicious attitude. “She has a right to know the truth before you think you can spend the rest of eternity with her.”
It’s silent for a moment before you see Josh’s shoulders slump. He looks slightly defeated and nervous. Seeing him in distress makes you uncomfortable, and you have to wonder if these are your actual feelings or something beyond your control.
“I first met you five years after I was first turned.” He starts, eyes begging for understanding. “You were running from a clan of demons who murdered your coven.”
The air is tense. You can feel your heart start to throb with hurt that you can’t place. A familiar burning sensation starts to poke at the back of your eyes, but you can’t understand why. “You saved me?”
Minghao clears his throat, eyes threatening.
“Unwillingly.” He admits, head hanging a little lower. “I was content in my solitude, and helping a witch didn’t sound appealing to me.”
“He also didn’t want to help a witch that belonged to the coven he helped exterminate.”
Minghao’s blunt statement makes your blood run cold. There’s a strange feeling that manifests itself in your chest. It’s an odd mixture of resentment, anger, and heartbreak. The feelings are familiar yet foreign. You feel the tears fall from your eyes before you can even think to hold them back. It’s all new information, but something in your bones recognizes the hurt and devastation.
“You killed my family.” The words aren’t yours, but in a strange way it feels like they are. “You almost killed me.”
“It was before I fell in love with you.” Josh sounds defeated. “Back then I was only concerned with my own survival, and I was a fool to let it get in the way of my love for you.”
Again, the air becomes tense. It makes Minghao almost regret doing this, but you ultimately have to know the truth. All of it.
“Tell her how you got her killed.”
More tears keep spilling from your eyes, and you can’t fathom the fact that they don’t feel like yours. A gentle hand wipes them away. Through blurry vision you can see Josh looking pained as he gently cradles your face in his large hand.
“I refused to go into hiding after the humans started to become more wary of our existence. Because of that, you and I were attacked by a group of hunters.” Josh feels a pain he hasn’t in centuries just talking about this to you of all people. “You protected me with your magic. I don’t know why you saved a wicked creature like me instead of yourself, but I really wish you hadn’t.”
The tears have stopped now, but Josh’s thumb is still gently caressing your face. His touch is cold yet comforting. You let out a shaky sigh, not sure what to do with all the information you’ve been given.
“This is why Minghao feels that I don’t deserve you, and maybe he’s right. But I’ve always been a selfish creature which is why I can’t give you up. Not in this lifetime or any other.”
Josh says it tenderly, but somehow you feel like you’ve become his prey.
Sometimes you wonder if letting Josh get so close to you is a mistake. Minghao seems to think it is even if he doesn’t tell you outright. Still, at least he’s supportive of your decision (as much as he can be, anyway). In spite of the fact that you now know the man of your dreams is a dangerous predator, you don’t feel unsafe when you’re with him. There’s also the fact that you can literally see the love he has for you every time you look at him.
Giving into him is the easiest thing you’ve ever done. It feels natural and right, especially since he’s so sweet to you. You feel yourself fall harder every time you’re with him. He knows you better than anyone and treats you like you’re his everything.
Your relationship feels completely surreal and fast paced, but in an odd way it also feels like it’s not fast enough. The feeling has something to do with your past life you’re sure. After all, Josh had been waiting centuries for you to reincarnate.
He must’ve been so lonely.
You suck in a quiet breath as the thought comes to you, one that feels like it came from deep in your subconscious and is not entirely yours. Josh’s eyes snap open at the sound. He’s looking straight at you from where he has his head in your lap.
“What’s wrong, darling?”
Unlike Minghao, Josh doesn’t have the power of coercion, but you’re still unable to lie to him. (Unwilling is a better term, but, details.)
“Did you really not have another lover after I died?” Your question isn’t accusatory, and part of you hopes he says yes. “Like you never even hooked up with someone else in three centuries?”
Josh’s airy laughter makes your chest warm. He brings your intertwined hands to his lips, placing a tender kiss on the back of yours. “If you do not believe me, I shall bring Minghao and have him use his gift on me.”
He’s teasing you, but you also know he’s dead serious. It shouldn’t thrill you so much that he’s willing to do just about anything for you—even subject himself to Minghao who still harbors a bit of a grudge towards him.
“It’s not that I don’t believe you, I just…” You let out a quiet sigh. “You must’ve been really lonely.”
The way you look heartbroken and guilty isn’t satisfying, but it is alleviating somehow. You truly haven’t changed. The beautiful, kind soul he fell in love with remains intact, and he can’t be more grateful for that.
“At first I was. Then I met Minghao and joined his coven. They made it more bearable.”
You bring the hand that’s not attached to Josh’s to his head and run a gentle hand through his hair. “It must’ve been hard.”
Josh only offers you a hum. He can’t deny that it was, but he also doesn’t want to keep making you feel bad with all the details. That would have to be for another time.
“How many dreams did you invade before you finally found me?” You suddenly ask, wondering just how many psyches he had to go through over the course of 300 years.
“None.” His smile is a little bitter. “I’m not a incubus, so I can only enter your subconscious.”
The confused look on your face makes him let out a quiet laugh. It’s so innocent that it’s hilarious. Especially because you don’t remember that the restriction to his gift was your doing.
“Every time I tried to use my gift, I couldn’t. That’s how I knew you hadn’t been reincarnated yet. As soon as you were born I was able to tell, but I still couldn’t get into your psyche until you were ready to let me in—this is all curtesy of you, of course.”
“Me?”
“Yes, you.” He laughs. “Because I can’t dream, you bestowed this gift on me so I would be able to experience a dreamlike state again. Since you didn’t want the bloodthirsty heathen that I was back then to invade the minds of unsuspecting humans, you put all these limitations on my gift.”
His laugh is cute as he reminisces. It makes you smile too until you think of something.
The other day, Josh had mentioned he used to feed off of you in his past life because it tasted different and apparently it was like a kink for both of you. It freaked you out at first, but lately you hadn’t been able to stop thinking about it. Honestly, the more the image plagued your mind, the harder it was not to feel turned on by it. You wonder if it would hurt and if you would like the hurt.
“Do you want to feed on me?”
If Josh’s heart was capable of beating, he has no doubt it would’ve been harshly pounding against his rib cage. He slowly gets up, feeling his cock throb and his throat itch.
“Darling—”
“You’ve never done it, and I was wondering if it was something you want to do.”
Of course he wanted to do it. Your scent is mouthwatering, and he just knows you taste divine. Up until now he hadn’t brought it up because he didn’t want you to think that’s all he wanted. All you two have done this past month is share some kisses, and that was perfectly fine. If that’s all you were willing to give him he’s gladly take it so long as you let him be part of your life.
Josh swallows thickly as he contemplates his answer. While it sort of sounds like you’re offering, he can’t assume anything. Plus he doesn’t want to seem like the monster Minghao told you he is.
When you see him hesitate, you make a decision that really isn’t all that hard for you. With an enticing smile, you tilt your head the slightest bit and offer your neck to him. “Bite me.”
In a split second, Josh pulls you on his lap so you’re straddling him. You gasp quietly when he sits you directly on his hardening cock. His eyes are dark like on the day he revealed himself to you. In the back of your mind, you know this is a dangerous game you’re playing, but you don’t feel one shred of regret or fear.
“I’ll be gentle.” He promises, voice breathy and needy.
Josh trails gentle kisses up and down your neck with patience that you find impressive. His fangs tease the tender skin as he opens his mouth slightly, and it’s almost like you can feel it throb in anticipation. With one last sweet kiss, Joshua sinks his teeth into your skin until you can feel a stabbing pain.
You gasp out a moan at the feeling. The pain lasts a second before you feel it rapidly fade. It’s replaced by images that invade the forefront of your mind. Memories that you don’t remember rush forward as if they were aching to be freed from the depths of your mind. There’s so many, and in spite of the fact that they pass through your mind quickly, you see every one of them.
When you come back down to reality, Josh is still drinking from you. He groans into your skin, reluctantly pulling away and licking the puncture wound he’s left behind. Josh continues to press kisses along your skin and whispered praises that you can’t help but melt into him.
“Jisoo.” You breathe out softly.
Joshua freezes when he hears what you’ve called him. He pulls back, eyes wide as he takes in the way you’re looking at him. Your gaze has always been full of affection, but now it’s full of ardent love that reminds him of the way you looked at him all those centuries ago.
“I’ve missed you.”
“Y/N…” Josh sounds breathless as if he can’t believe what he’s hearing.
“I’m sorry it took me this long to remember.” You murmur as your bring a hand up to caress his cool cheek. “But I guess it’s only fair since you left me first.”
“It’s my biggest regret.” Josh says honestly, grip tightening on you.
You hum, trailing your thumb over his lips. He opens his mouth the slightest bit so you can touch his fangs just like you used to do once upon a time. Goosebumps cover your skin at the familiarity of it all. The feelings in your chest deepen impossibly as you replay all the memories that slowly keep coming to mind. You thought it would be impossible to love Josh any more than you already did, but once again you were proven wrong.
You let out a shocked squeak when he pulls you closer to him. His face is shoved into the side of your neck that he didn’t bite, breathing in your addicting scent. “I was so afraid that you wouldn’t remember.”
“If you wouldn’t have been such a gentleman and bitten me sooner it wouldn’t have taken me so long.” You laugh, hugging him tighter.
The two of you stay like that until you shift and realize you’re still sitting on his hard cock. In a flash, the hot memory of Josh ravishing you back then goes straight to your cunt. You lick your lips and decide that you both have been waiting long enough to be with each other again.
“I’m impressed you kept your chastity just for me.” You purr into his ear, gently grinding down on his cock. “Such a loyal lover until the end.”
Josh doesn’t hesitate to take you to bed, cock aching to be inside you once again. He’s gentle when he finally gets you naked, eyes full of desire and love. “So fucking pretty.”
A breathy moan escapes you when his cold hands start to caress your body. His lips trails your neck, gently teasing you with his sharp teeth. Your skin heats up at the attention, and you feel like your floating by the time Josh gets his dick out to finally give you what you’ve been wanting.
“I missed you so much.” He groans as his throbbing cock slowly eases past your wet folds.
You moan along with him, hands finding his to lace your fingers together. “Missed you too, my love.”
Josh’s cock twitches inside you when he hears the pet name come out of your pretty little mouth. His leaking tip brushes against your cervix as your legs wrap around his hips. His pace is slow at first, trying to savor the feeling of your hot, tight cunt wrapped around him. He buries his face into your neck, licking and biting at the skin as his thrusts start to get tougher and deeper.
Your moaning is loud, and you’re amazed that he still knows which angels to hit after so much time. It’s like you’re seeing stars when Josh gently bites at your skin. He does it teasingly until you’re begging him to bite you again.
“Stop teasing.” You whine wantonly, hips bucking up to meet his thrusts.
His chuckle is low and has your pussy clamping down on his cock, drenching it in your arousal. You can’t remember the last time you were so turned on. It hasn’t been long, but it already feels like you’re about to come.
“Seeing you fall apart like this is my favorite thing.” You can feel his sinister smirk against your neck. “It’s been too long since I last saw it.”
Josh lets go of one of your hands to bring a thumb to your clit. He starts to rub slow circles on the sensitive nub as his thrusts grow more ravenous. You cry out in pleasure when his thick cock hits your sweet spot roughly. Your back arches in pleasure as you feel your juices start to coat his heavy balls.
“Never letting you go again.” Joshua growls lowly, more to himself than you. “All mine.”
With his possessive declaration, he sinks his fangs into your neck for a second time. Your eyes roll to the back of your head as you violently come all over his big cock.
“Fuck!” You cry out, hips moving against his arms he continues to fuck you through your high.
He’s licking at your open would now, sharp thrusts angled just right to have you on the cusp of another orgasm. Joshua pulls back, pink lips painted scarlet with your blood. He looks ravenous, and you think you might actually come again from how hot he looks.
“That’s it, darling.” Josh sounds insatiable. “Cream all over me.”
It’s not long before the sight of you completely fucked out triggers his own orgasm. Thick ropes of cum shoot inside your pulsing walls, painting them white with his seed. His moans are as pretty as you remember, and they mix in with your perfectly as he fucks his cum deeper inside you.
“Fuck me again.” You pant out, still longing for the second orgasm he was coaxing out of you.
Josh’s smirks as he flips you over on your front. “Still as insatiable as ever, darling.”
You look back at him with a laugh. “Like you’re any better. So hurry and fill me up again.”
You’ll never get sick of the feeling of his cold skin on yours as he grips your ass. Josh’s large hands rub and squeeze before you feel his throbbing cock tease your messy cunt. You let out a needy whine, tilting your hips up more to offer yourself to him.
“Such a needy little thing.” Joshua murmurs in that mean but sweet tone only he was capable of having.
“Only for you, my love.” You mewl, pussy throbbing at the thought of him splitting you open again.
As is his style, Josh slowly pushes his fat cock into your hot cunt, making you feel every inch of him. Then, in a split second he shoves the rest in like he can’t wait to be inside you any longer. The jolt of pleasure and slight sting of the stretch was enough to tip you over the edge for a second time.
You muffle your cry of pleasure in the sheets, fingers clinging to the soft cotton as your pussy clenches down on Josh’s cock, making him feel even bigger inside you. He groans from behind you, loving how your juices coat his cock as if you’re claiming it as yours.
“Fuck, sweetheart. Can you do that for me one more time?”
It’s more of a rhetorical question because in the next second his fingers are digging into your hips as he pulls his cock all the way out before shoving it back into your needy pussy with a sharp thrust. You can feel your body tremble as your pussy grips his cock like a vise.
“So fucking tight.” He groans, voice dripping with lust.
“Fuck me!” You moan, pushing back on his cock with insatiable need.
At your desperate demand, Josh sera a brutal pace. He fuck you hard and rough, leaking tip hitting your sweet spot over and over again until all he can hear is lewd squelching and skin slapping. His hips slam against your ass, obsessed with the way your sweet crema coats his cock. You cry out his name as his heavy balls slap against your throbbing clit.
Josh is pounding you into the mattress, cock splitting you open deliciously. You’re so addicted to the feeling that you can’t help but spur him on. “Don’t stop!”
You cry out in ecstasy when he does exactly as you ask. He pounds his cock against the spot inside you that has you seeing stars. Your fingers grips the sheets as you bounce your ass back to meet his thrusts desperately.
“You’re close again, right, baby?” Josh’s voice is teasing. He doesn’t need to ask, though. He knows you are because he knows your body.
You’re moaning and shaking with overwhelming pleasure. All you can do is nod as you bring your hand down between your bodies to rub your aching clit. With all the stimulation from your fingers and his cock, you fall over the edge once again. Your body tenses as you moan out Josh’s name with ecstasy. The excess of your orgasm drips down Josh’s cock, staining it and marking it as yours.
With one last thrust, he shoots his hot cum inside you, moaning your name like a mantra. He sloppily fuck it back into you before pulling you flush against his chest. You two collapse back on the bed with Josh holding you closely as if he thinks you might disappear.
Slowly, you turn around with his cock still inside you. Joshua’s eyes are sparkling as he looks at you. “How are you feeling?”
“Amazing.” You breathe out blissfully. “And not just because you’ve stuffed me full.”
His cock twitches inside of you, and you can’t help but let out an endeared laugh. Your chest is warm as he hugs you closer to him, lips gently skimming over your puncture wound.
“Jisoo.”
He hums against your neck, pulling back to look you in the eyes.
“I was so afraid when I first died.” You confess, feeling him tense. You’re quick to pull him closer and caress his cheek. “Afraid that I’d be reborn and you wouldn’t be there when I was.”
Josh swallows thickly and comes to cup the hand that’s still brushing over his cheek. “I’ll never leave you alone again.”
“I know. Once you turn me, we’ll have the rest of eternity together.”
It all feels too good to be true, but you know that this is reality and not just another one of your sweet dreams.

Got an idea for a beast!Y/n based on this song https://youtu.be/8sAKC90Ol1k?si=b50NVTg4dAbTLNto (if the link doesn't work, the song's called Voices by Derivakat(yes some lyrics are gonna be incorporated into the ask as dialogue and yes Y/n is going to be based off of technoblade, fly high king))
Y/n helps the witchs in sealing away the other beasts and a few weeks later Y/n becomes the beast of retribution, but instead of going evil they become more of an anti hero, destroying corrupted kingdoms and becoming the holder and caretaker of vengeful spirits of the dead; their numbers going up day by day.
When all the beasts (and what's left of Burning Spice cookie's spice swarm) are freed and are facing the ancients all at once, Y/n suddenly appears in the middle interrupting the face off. The beasts were happy at first thinking Y/n has finally succumb to the corruption, only for Y/n to turn to face them and pull out their blade from its sheath. Vengeful spirits start to rise and circle around Y/n as they split their red and dark blue coloured sword into 2 seperate swords. More vengeful spirits start to rise as they chant blood for the blood god; the chanting slowly grows louder and louder. The beasts finally realise they're fighting their former friend once more, only they're less merciful than before.
The sky becomes cloudy; a black magpie skull with horns coming out of the top mimicing that of a crown forms on Y/n's head with it acting as both a headpiece and a helmet. Thousands upon thousands of vengeful spirits are now in the battleground.
The spirits fall silent, then start to speak.
"In the midst the chaos, there is also opportunity."
"All warfare is based on deception."
Know thyself, know thy enemy."
"A thousand battles, a thousand victories."
"Burning remains; light the funeral pyre."
"Breaking them up; tearing them down."
"Branding the truth on a world of liars."
"Please your god."
"Release the hounds."
"The battle never ends."
They fall silent again as they all simultaneously look towards the beasts with some recognizing them as their killers, while the rest sense corruption and deemed them unworthy of forgiveness.
They all start speaking again, only towards Y/n, their holder and caretaker.
"You don't need sanity, when you have anarchy."
The ancients back off, knowing a bloody and deadly battle will commence.
"You don't need government, when you have covenant with your god."
In the sockets of the magpie skull red and dark blue glowing eyes with black slits as pupils appear. Y/n forms a crazed smile.
"Make them wither away, make their foundations decay!"
Y/n says one sentence with the spirits yelling it out loud in unison.
"YOU SEE IT COMING, IT'S JUDGEMENT DAY!"
Y/n charges towards the beasts; the battle commences.
The beasts are able to hold their own, but it's clear they can't fight forever. Y/n may look defeated, but the battle's only beginning.
The dark blue starts fading away, with only red remaining; this fight is no longer about bringing justice for the fallen, but vengeance for the spirits.
The sky darkens and the sun's colors turn to a bloody red.
The spirits start chanting again. It wasn't heard at first but it becomes much more louder when they chant again.
"You know you're one of us."
"One of us."
Y/n picks up their swords once more with even more strength than they had before; the tides have turned and the battle is now in Y/n's favor.
"There's no escaping us."
"One of us."
Y/n gets up; jam starts to seep through the horns on the magpie skull.
"There's no one you can trust!"
"One of us!"
The blades of Y/n's swords start to glow emitting electricity and smoke. 20 dark red and black hounds appear along with 3 wither beasts.
"SO LEAVE THEM ALL FOR DUST!"
"ONE OF US!"
A third eye appears on the magpie skull it starts to leak jam aswell with three moving pupils appearing. Y/n rushes into battle once more as the spirits, hounds, and the wither beasts follow.
The battle is nearing its end as the beasts are starting to become weak and sluggish. Right before the fight reaches its end, the vengeful spirits yell once more.
"Our justice must be blind!"
Y/n knowing their victory is inevitable merges their swords back into one.
"Let chaos be divine!"
Y/n walks towards the beasts then stops at a certain distance. A large red and dark blue scale appears behind Y/n, on the right pan it holds five hearts, presumably the hearts of the beasts, on the left pan a white feather is seen; a way to tell if one was indeed virtuous. The weight of the 5 hearts are heavier than the feather; judgement arrives.
Y/n raises their sword to the air as the ground below the beasts start to break apart; It appears Ammit will be having a lovely feast this time around.
Before they fell into the afterlife below they hear the vengeful spirits yell one last time.
"THE BLADE WILL NEVER DIE!"
Funt fact: I had included bits of egyptian mythology here, like weighing the hearts against the feather to see if they're virtuous and the mention of Ammit, as she eats the hearts of sinners and the said sinners would perish forever.
Brittle i'm so sorry and I heavily apologize for how incredibly lengthy this ask is.
Anti-heroes can be a randomized sort, a gamble for either side

Paris, the city of love, if Sabien was going to find either a live in blood bag or a new member of his coven -someone who loved him- it would be here. With the practiced confidence of a man with incredibly low self-esteem, he entered an up and coming bar and glanced around, following the smell of the best blood in the joint and making his way towards him, standing near the stool beside him. “Good evening,” he began, his voice cracking a bit and he cleared his throat and took it again. “Good evening. Are you waiting for someone or is it alright if I take this seat,” he asked, giving him a charming smile, one he had a good amount of practice with over the centuries. He found the human here cute and wondered if he would be interested in living forever.

Bound | Chapter 8
Word Count: 3.4K Warnings: queer slurs
Summary: Rosalie always carried the resentment of not being able to fulfill the image of the perfect family she had in her head. But the universe had set out to grant her everything she could’ve hoped for in the most unconventional way and in the form of a witch. Can their love withstand the promise of forever or will Rosalie and (Y/N) succumb to the grapples of time?
A/N: I cannot believe how long I've neglected this story. I am ashamed 🫣😭
<- Previous | Next ->
Forks, Washington was everything Rosalie had thought she would hate from a town as a human. It was quiet, secluded, and a place where things seemed to stay stuck in time. There was no novelty or grandeur. A small town, after all.
The girl didn’t have much interest in the town. Then again, she hadn’t had much interest in any town since she had left Rochester. Sure, Tennessee had gifted her with Emmett, but the town was never what interested her. Once she had left her home, there was nothing that could pique her interest quite like the life she had left behind.
Still, she didn’t mind a small town anymore. Especially for the being she was now and the opulent grandeur the Cullens seemed to always live in. Surrounded by trees and winding down a lonely road, their new home came into view. Gravel crackled under their cars, announcing their arrival to whatever was out there.
The house was a beautiful Victorian build, with a wrap-around porch and high ceilings. It was an architectural marvel and the perfect place for the family to hide out in. They were surely not going to encounter any problems.
Surely.
However, only a month into living in the new town, they encountered neighbors they had never expected to meet. Much less while they fed on a herd of deer.
“We’re not alone,” Edward called out, his gaze set deep into the woods. “There’s someone there.”
“Other vampires, perhaps?” Carlisle questioned. “I heard there were a few nomads canvassing the area.”
“No. Not vampires,” he grimaced. “Something else. Much different.”
The family rushed cautiously deeper into the forest, Edward taking the lead as he followed the intruders’ thoughts.
Their smell hit them first—a mixture of wet dog, fresh-turned dirt, and soot. It made them all turn their noses, wishing their halted breath stopped their scent from traveling through their nostrils.
Then, three massive wolves broke through the woods. Their teeth were bared, and their claws dug into the dirt in preparation for a fight. But their presence wasn’t as intimidating as much as it was surprising. From what Carlisle had told the family, the Volturi had killed all of the Children of the Moon. Yet, right before them stood what appeared to be three of them.
“We mean you no harm,” Carlisle said as he stepped in front of the family protectively. “My family and I have recently bought a house a few miles off the town of Forks. We didn’t know there were Children of the Moon here.”
The dark brown wolf that stood in front growled in response, its mouth slobbering with rage. On any other occasion, the vampires would have fought the animals and more than likely come out victorious. But their coven had an advantage that none other did. And it came in the form of a six-two egotistical mind-reading vampire.
“They say they’re not children of the moon,” Edward recited. “And that our kind is not welcome in their land. No dead walkers have survived them.”
“I assure you we are like no other vampires you may have encountered before,” Carlisle continued. “We mean no harm to humans, for we do not need of their blood to survive. We exclusively feed off animal blood.”
“They say they can’t trust you simply off your word. Especially when they don’t even know your name.”
“My apologies,” the older vampire smiled. “I am Carlisle. The boy translating for us is Edward. This is my wife, Esme, and the newest additions to the family, Rosalie and Emmett.”
“From left to right, Levi Uley, Ephraim Black, and Quil Ateara II,” Edward said. “They say they are shapeshifters tasked with protecting the land from any and all enemies. Like us.”
“I assure you, we do not mean to cause you any harm,” the patriarch affirmed. “In fact, I propose we make a treaty. A mutually beneficial agreement that shall extend to all of your descendants for the rest of time. What do you say?”
The three wolves looked at each other, lost in thought, as they deliberated silently on the vampire’s offer. Given the position they were in, there was only one answer they could give, and it was the one they had all been expecting.
“They agree that given our claimed diet, a treaty is the best decision,” Edward said. “They want to meet three miles west of this location at midnight over a bonfire to discuss the terms of the agreement.”
“I don’t see why not,” Carlisle agreed. “We shall see you then.”
The wolves waited until the family was a safe distance away before turning back to where they had come from. The vampires found their very existence befuddling. They looked exactly like the werewolves that had once been—men who turned into wolves and looked at vampires as their natural enemies. Yet, these ones could shift in the light of the morning. They seemed in control of their actions, and they ran in a pack. More than that, they had faced them, and they were still alive. Children of the Moon, they definitely were not.
The Cullens headed back to their home to await nightfall, still unsure of who exactly they had just encountered but certain they’d end up with a good enough deal in their new town.
“That was awfully easy, wasn’t it?” Esme said as they settled around their living room. “I thought we were sure to get a bigger fight.”
“Those mutts knew they were outnumbered and outpowered,” Edward chuckled as he slumped into the couch. “They would never put up a fight with us.”
“Do you actively wake up in the morning and decide you’re gonna be a giant prick?” Rosalie scoffed. “Or is that just an awful character flaw you were born with?”
She couldn’t help the smirk that stretched across her mouth as Emmett snickered beside her, a sense of accomplishment surging deep within her.
Emmett had quickly become the blonde’s closest friend and confidante. While she helped him with his dietary struggles, he kept her company. And for the first time in the couple of years of her turning, she didn’t feel alone.
He’d kept her secret as he had promised. He said every time he felt the thought sprouting in his head and Edward was around, he would scream as loudly as he could in his mind. And he’d known it worked when the older vampire flinched for no reason at all. It had become a sort of challenge to the boy. He had gravitated from screaming to picking a jingle or a phrase a day that he would repeat over and over until Edward either left them or tuned him out. And he had done it all for the friendship he had built with Rosalie.
“What? You’re gonna defend them?” Edward countered with disgust. “As if you hadn’t thought the same thing. As a matter of fact, we all did. So, don’t go around thinking you’re better than me.”
“At least none of us said it out loud, Eddie-boy,” Emmettt interjected. “That’s the difference here. Don’t get angry because other people have some shred of dignity.”
“Oh, please, you’re only saying that because you always take Rosalie’s side,” the boy grumbled. “If it weren’t for her, you would be saying the same thing.”
“Is that right?” the bigger vampire challenged. “You think you know me, Edward? Do you really think you know a single thing about me?”
“I know enough. There’s only so much you can hide from a mind reader, Emmett.”
“You’d be surprised,” he smirked. “Just because you can read my mind doesn’t mean you’re getting anything of substance.”
“Well, I normally do when my subject’s lights are on upstairs,” Edward jabbed. “But I can’t ask a lot from a guy who thought they had a chance at winning against a bear.”
“Maybe not then, but I’ve taken one on now,” Emmet spat, standing in front of Edward and towering over the boy as he stood. “And I can most definitely take you on as well if you want to question what’s going on in my head. And we both know who is going to win between us.”
“Alright, boys, that’s enough,” Esme interrupted, ever the mother she was. “It does us no good to fight within the family.”
“No, I think it’s healthy to air out our grievances from time to time,” Emmett continued, his eyes trained firmly on Edward’s. “Sometimes people need to be knocked down a peg or two. Works wonders for the ego.”
“I don’t know why you’re being so protective over Rosalie,” Edward said, suddenly snapping his eyes toward the girl. “You shouldn’t be so protective of this fairy lady.”
If Rosalie had been able to breathe, she was sure those words would have knocked the wind out of her lungs. How could he have known? She’d guarded her thoughts well, and she knew Emmett had as well. “What did you just call me?”
“Come on, Rosalie. Let’s not play games here,” he smirked. “We both know what I’m talking about.”
“That’s enough, Edward,” Carlisle tried to interject, but the boy continued.
“If you wanted to hide your true self so much, maybe you shouldn’t leave your journal where anyone can see it,” he said. “It doesn’t take a genius to know that you’re a dyke.”
The sound of a slap echoed through the room as Rosalie’s hand smacked Edward’s cheek, the suddenness enough to have him stumbling back. He stared at her in shock, surprised at her break in composure.
“Take a walk, Edward!” Esme finally exclaimed. “You’ve gone far enough.”
But the girl didn’t stay long enough to see if he would stay or leave. She sped out the front doors and didn’t stop until she felt she was far enough away.
Anger bubbled deep in her chest, and she had no other method of release than violence. She pounded her fists into a tree, over and over and over until she had almost made it through the other side. She punched through her sadness, punched through her ire, punched through her fear. She punched until the tree could not hold itself upright anymore, tumbling to the ground with a deafening thud.
She had been so careful. Handpicked every single thought she had, kept her distance, and hid her personal things. And yet, Edward had been able to figure out her secret because of one careless day. One measly careless second, and he’d been able to see the one thing she kept closest to her heart.
“Do you mind if I sit with you?” she heard Carlisle ask from behind her.
She had sat on the tree she had broken, listening to the quiet of the forest before he arrived. It made her feel… well, alone. “Sure,” she sighed, brushing away the dirt that had stained her knuckles. “Can’t really stop you.”
“I wouldn’t if you didn’t want me to,” he said with a smile. They sat in silence for a moment as he tried to find the right words. “I’m sorry about Edward. He’s a good kid most times. Just… emotionally challenged.”
“Nice way to say he’s an asshole,” she scoffed. “I’m guessing you’re here to say I should start looking for a new coven.”
“Why would you think that?”
“Come on, Carlisle. I’m surely not what you expected me to be when you turned me,” she said, her eyes trained on her feet, too embarrassed to look him in the eyes. “I’m definitely not someone that aligns with your moral values.”
Carlisle could only chuckle softly at the girl and her misconceptions. She’d been with the family for three years, and yet, she barely knew them at all. “When I was still a human, I used to judge everyone I met,” he said. “I was raised by a pastor, and I became a vampire hunter. Although, at the time, I didn’t know I was passing judgment. All I had known was that different meant bad, even when I strived to be better than my father. “But life quickly showed me that nothing is simply black and white,” he explained. “I’ve lived too long now to keep those misconstrued thoughts alive in my head and my heart. I mean, I became what I was raised to hate most in my life. And I learned that just because you’re different, it doesn’t mean you are bad.”
“This is different from being a vampire, Carlisle. Even your bible says people like me are sinners and vile,” she said, her voice trembling under the weight of her words. “I am condemned and doomed just for who I love.”
“How is it any different? Well, I guess you weren’t born a vampire,” he chuckled softly. “But, it is still something you cannot change about yourself. In my eyes, loving someone could never be a sin. Even the good book says so. You’re not damned, Rosalie, and you certainly are not doomed.”
The last thing she had expected was Carlisle to be one of the most accepting people she could have met, other than Emmett, of course. She knew of his religious path and the beliefs he still held close to his heart. Those had her fearing the repercussions of him knowing her true self. Her sexuality was the only thing she could keep for herself. Guard it close to her heart so no one could use it against her—not that it had worked with Edward. She had gone two decades of her life hidden in the shadows, trusting only two people with her secret, but it had all been for naught. The people who truly cared for her wouldn’t mind who she loved as long as she was happy.
“I promise I will reprimand Edward for the words he said and for infringing on your privacy,” Carlisle smiled. “And I give you my word that he will never, ever use that hateful rhetoric in our house ever again.”
“Thank you, Carlisle,” Rosalie beamed. “You can’t know how much this means to me. Truly.”
“We’re on your side,” he said. “Whether you feel it or not, Rosalie, you are part of this family. And we’ll stand beside you through it all.”
The girl couldn’t help but wrap her arms around the man. All words escaped her as she tried to pick the right ones, but a hug seemed like the right response. Carlisle had brought her into this new world out of pity, but he’d gently guided her to people who loved her unconditionally—except for the one exception. Even if she detested the life she had to live as a vampire, she was grateful to have at least that.
“Well, we should head back and get things sorted before tonight,” Carlisle said. “We need to go into this as a united front. Or at least appear like we are.”
“As long as Edward stays as far away from me as possible, I don’t see why we won’t.”
“You won’t have to worry about that,” he assured. “And just so you know, Esme gave him quite the talking to before I left. I bet we could catch the end of it if we hurry back.”
Rosalie reciprocated Carlisle’s playful grin before they took off in a sprint back to the house. Lo and behold, Esme was still yelling at Edward when they arrived, his face solemn like that of an ashamed child. Meanwhile, Emmett stood not too far back, snickering to himself and, more likely than not, giving the mind reader hell inside his head.
It took everything in the girl not to boast as she walked past him, her head held high and a grin adorning her pink lips. He wouldn’t meet her gaze, his eyes trained on the tips of his fingers. She rather preferred it that way. Edward had no right to look her in the eyes, and she was glad he finally knew his place.
For the first time in the three years she had been with the Cullens, she had finally felt part of the family. She hadn’t expected them all to rally behind her against Edward, but her heart warmed as they did. They had all seen past her cold exterior and inhuman beauty. They had seen her soul and learned her worth. They cared for her, and they weren’t ashamed to show it.
At that moment, she wondered what would have happened if Vera had also become a vampire. They could have both joined the Cullen family and finally have the life they had dreamed of—at least the mirage of it. They would have been able to love each other and live freely amongst the immortals, sure that they’d be loved and protected. She thought they’d have love stories written about them, poets and singers would cry at the mention of their love. They would’ve had eternity and a day to bask in the warmth of the other, and no matter what anyone thought, they could simply be.
But then, there’s a reason why dreams only appear when we’re asleep. At some point, they end, and you wake up.
There would never be a perfect ending for them whether they lived for eternity or just a day more. Their love was meant to end at one moment or another. There had been a semicolon placed on the story the moment Vera got married and had Henry. And a period ended their sentence the second blood stopped rushing through Rosalie’s veins.
Vera had always been a dream for Rosalie, and turning into a vampire simply woke her up.
Hours passed, and finally, the moon had reached its highest point in the sky. The clock on the living room wall confirmed that midnight had arrived, and it was time to face the wolves once more. In the distance, a string of smoke signaled their destination, and they rushed toward it.
The smell of fire filtered through their noses soon enough, mixing with the scent of the wolves and the forest. The wind murmured a quiet warning to everyone and everything around; what was about to occur that night was nothing short of history in the making.
When the Cullens arrived, three men wearing wooden wolf helmets were waiting for them. Behind them, a large bonfire crackled and danced, filling the darkness with a bright and warm hue. It would have been a beautiful sight to behold had it not been for the menacing stares the three men were gifting the vampires.
“I take it you’re Ephraim Black,” Carlisle said, breaking the silence and extending a courteous hand toward the other man. “As I said before, my name is Carlisle Cullen, and this is my family…”
“We can skip the niceties, cold one,” Ephraim interrupted. “We are here to settle business and go our own ways.”
“Alright, if that is what you choose,” the vampire smiled. “Shall we begin then?”
That night, a treaty was formed between two unlikely kinds. Between maps and discussions, an agreement over land and behavior was reached, pertinent to their current lives. Mutual discreteness over their supernatural status, explicit boundaries in regions of the town, and, most importantly, no harm could ever come to a human, whether by hunting or transforming them into a vampire. If any of these terms were broken, it would mean the start of a war between the Quileute tribe shapeshifters and the Cullens. And a war would mean an inevitable end to one of the races.
Rosalie understood the need for a treaty. Being at odds with someone so close by could only lead to pain and discomfort, and she already knew what it was like to live with that.
But seeing the shifters’ ability to put everything aside for the common greater good—regardless of whether or not they had felt outnumbered—gave her the best solution to her Edward-shaped dilemma. After that night, he would never treat her like he had, and she’d behave amicably toward the boy, pretending he was nothing more than a thorn in her side—a tiresome nuisance, if you will.
At the end of the day, it was only eternity.

So, Daniel’s laptop background. The picture has been identified via this Reddit thread as being the St. Paul, MN old loading docs below Kellogg Street:
A lot of us have been commenting that this looked Romanesque. It did to me too. And my brain couldn’t let it go. I’ve been thinking obsessively about the Devil’s Minion story, (as one does? lol), and I remembered that the first blood exchange between Daniel and Armand was in the dining room of the Villa of the Mysteries in Pompeii, and when Daniel first sees Armand, he’s standing at the entrance of the house.
“As soon as he’d reached the ancient house, a stillness had descended. No guards here. No one living. Only the sudden silent appearance of Armand before the entrance. Armand again.” (QotD)
The modern entrance, according to research, is the South Colonnades, pictured here.
(pic source and floor plan)
“Armand’s lips had moved in a soft, slightly concealed smile. And then his eyes had misted and closed. He had bent close to Daniel, pressed his lips to Daniel’s neck.
And once again, as he had in a little room on Divisadero Street in San Francisco with the vampire Louis, Daniel felt the sharp teeth pierce the surface of his skin. Sudden pain and throbbing warmth. ‘Are you killing me finally?’ He grew drowsy, on fire, filled with love. ‘Do it, yes.’
But Armand had taken only a few droplets. He’d released Daniel and pressed gently on his shoulders, forcing Daniel down to his knees. Daniel had looked up to see the blood flowing from Armand’s wrist. Great electric shocks had passed through Daniel at the taste of that blood. It had seemed in a flash that the city of Pompeii was full of a whispering, a crying, some vague and pulsing imprint of long-ago suffering and death. Thousands perishing in smoke and ash. Thousands dying together. Together. Daniel had clung to Armand. But the blood was gone. Only a taste—no more.
‘You are mine, beautiful boy,’ Armand had said.
The following morning when he awoke in bed at the Excelsior in Rome, Daniel knew that he would not run away from Armand ever again.’” (QotD)
I mean. He’s doing a puzzle in the beginning episode of a Brueghel painting that’s on the walls of Armand’s Satanic coven in Paris. He’s having dreams, through Armand’s perspective, of his first meeting with them in the club. His laptop has a screenshot of an abandoned loading dock in St. Paul that resembles(?) the architecture of the South Colonnades at the Villa of the Mysteries where Daniel’s life officially changes forever. He’s dying, and in TDM, this is when Armand calls Daniel back to him for the final time. IMO, this is all Devil’s Minion related.
I’m NOT saying I’m right. Or that this isn’t up for debate. Or that they’re even connected.
I’m just saying it’s worth consideration.

Armand Prefers the Rake Over the Lawnmower Again
Armand had to give up his relationship with journalist Daniel Molloy to maintain his familiar and understandable relationship with Louis de Pointe du Lac. He likely did this to better control Louis and prevent his suicide attempts following Claudia's death.
Armand was deprived of his coven, the routine, and the understanding of what to do each day when he was part of his theater. Over the decades, Louis became Armand's coven. He learned Louis's routine, thoughts, and could predict his steps. He knows what it is like to be with Louis. It is familiar and stable for him.
It became entirely normal for Armand to thwart Louis's suicide attempts, establishing a banal and predictable eternity. Daniel Molloy is a hurricane that bursts into their lives, exposing the raw wounds of each of them. Possible romantic relationships with Daniel would destroy the familiar routine that Armand had built. Given his need to monitor and control everything around him, this leads to the total collapse of the web he spun around Louis. In new, unclear, and completely unstable relationships with Daniel, Armand has no control over either Louis or Daniel. This frightens him, causing him to act rashly, choosing relationships where everything is familiar.
This is his coping mechanism: choosing the familiar, life with Louis.
Considering that Daniel was genuinely captivated by Armand, not finding him boring, whereas Louis had long been tired of life with him, as well as life in general.
In some sense, Armand replaced Claudia for Louis, not Lestat. Armand became a companion for Louis, just like Claudia, taking care of sustenance, routine, money, entertainment, and safety.
The tragedy in Paris forever deprived Louis and Armand of romantic thrill and sexuality. The erosion of the erotic aspect of their relationship, which no one managed to revive. Louis sought solace in young people, promiscuous sex, and blood mixed with drugs. Cleaning up after Louis became part of Armand's routine.
It is worth recalling that the dynamics of Louis and Claudia's relationship also changed several times. The first time it happened was when she asked to be called sister, and Louis stopped being a father to her, becoming an uncle, reflecting his inability to care for her as a parent. Such a role shift deeply angered Lestat. After all, you can't just change the dynamic he had built.
Most likely, this happened implicitly in Louis and Armand's relationship, as shown by the characters' behavior from the first season. If Claudia did things and helped Louis just because he was part of her family, Armand does it because he does not want and cannot be alone. Loneliness is a hostile environment for him. He does not know how to be alone and does not consider it normal for himself. It's a hostile environment filled with uncertainty.
Again, Armand has sacrificed too much in his relationship with Louis to let go of the reins of their cart. Yes, it's without a front wheel, but still on the move, sometimes falling into pits but then steering back on the right path. Reflecting this situation, one can recall the conversation on the bench where Louis asks Armand to leave the coven for his sake, but even the thought of it causes Armand pain. Louis asks him to abandon the familiar, built over hundreds of years. Armand disagrees, but Louis accepts dominance over him as a submission to his will.
Something new, unfamiliar, and unknown poses a huge threat to the fragile balance that Armand tries to protect. That is why he engages in masking, portraying himself as Rashid, fully dissolving into another personality, wrapping himself in it like a cocoon of safety. This way, he tries to protect himself from Daniel's keen mind and avoid his suspicions and attacks immediately. While Louis finds it amusing to engage in such a battle with Daniel, Armand needs time to build a fortress around himself and come up with a lie that would divert suspicions from him and not trigger unwanted memories in Louis and Daniel.
However, despite all Armand's efforts, Louis left him. Left alone, Armand turned Daniel into a vampire, hoping to find new support in him and maintain some semblance of stability in his life.

Intoxicating Fear - Masterpost
Update schedule:
Next update— 14/12/24
Following update — 28/12/24 (every two weeks after)
Ongoing Series
“Oh yes,” said Omen, tone reminiscent. “Old Mentor went mad trying to stop me, poor dear.”
“You drove him crazy! You weaponised his own mind against him,” Kit said, hatred colouring his voice. Omen smirked.
“I was going to do the same to you,” said Omen, his voice flowing through Kit’s ears like liquid silver. “It’s a favourite of my many gifts. Not at all fit for combat like lightning or water, but I can break you without breaking a sweat. Even before I took your mind you couldn’t lift a finger against me.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Omen.
It was a whisper, a rumour, the bogeyman - nobody who met him lived to tell about it, or if they did, they didn't remember. Almost everything about him was unknown until he drove Mentor mad and claimed the notoriety for bringing the world's greatest Superhero to heel.
On his first solo mission, Kit, the hero Malyn, gets far more than he ever bargained for. Omen takes Kit as a trophy, a play-thing, a puppet - addicted to being Kit's biggest fear.
Will Kit escape Omen, or is he doomed to be Omen's puppet forever, or worse... end up like Mentor - mind melted, hospitalised, and scared of his own shadow?
Main Characters
Kit Mallory (22) — Malyn
Kit showed incredible promise in the young Hero Academy and was offered to be Mentor's sidekick, the greatest Superhero in the world. Kit took the offer, Mentor taking him under his wing as if he were family and soon that's what they grew to be; family.
After Omen attacks Mentor, Kit's entire life is uprooted, unraveling before him and he's consumed by vengeance, promising Mentor he would avenge him. He just didn't expect to meet Omen so soon, so suddenly, so unaware.
He’d be damned if he let Omen know that.
Oskar Ambrose (29) — Omen
Not much is known about Ambrose. That’s the way he likes it. The less people that know about him the better, and yet, there was something about Malyn that he couldn’t quite put his finger on. Something like a puzzle that he wanted to solve.
Never before had anyone made Ambrose not want to use his powers to force them to submit. Malyn… he was like the gift that keeps on giving— life is too short not to abuse a Hero every once in a while. If during the course of his meddling it happened to further his own agenda, well — that would just be an added bonus.

"Ballad of the Witches' Road" and the Evolution of its Lyrics
So, I had the thought to compare the regular "Sacred Chant" version of the ballad with the different lyrics we see Agatha and Nicky brainstorm together. It's reeeeeealllyyyy telling of the dark turn that Agatha went down after Nicky's death, and I thought I'd make a post about it so all of you can cry over it too!
The lyrics will be color-coded to distinguish between who created them. Orange = Nicky, Indigo = Agatha, Green = Nicky & Agatha, Blue = Unknown/Post-Flashback.
So, we have Verse 1, which is completely original to the Sacred Chant Version (SCV):
Seekest thou the road to all that’s foul and fair Gather sisters fire, water, earth, and air Darkest hour, wake thy power, earthly and divine Burn and brew our coven true and glory shall be thine (Down, down, down the road Down the witches’ road) x3 Circle sewn with fate Unlock thy hidden gate
This was either added by Agatha to make it more marketable for her gathering a coven to kill them all, or it simply sprung up from other people adding onto the song, until the SCV became the basic version that most everyone in the witch community knew. It adds the basic rules for summoning the door (witches of each type are required, must be a coven, unlock the gate).
Next, we have Verse 2 - first, the SCV.
Marching ever forward ‘Neath the wooded shrine I stray not from the path I hold death’s hand in mine Primal night, giveth sight Familiar by thy side If one be gone, we carry on Spirit as our guide (Down, down, down the road Down the witches’ road) x3 Blood and tears and bone Maiden, Mother, Crone
The first part is similar to the Agatha's and Nicky's version in the first half, but is heavily changed post-Nicky's death - and definitely by Agatha, not the greater witch community.
Marching ever forward ‘Neath the wooded shrine I stray not from the path Hold your hand in mine What’s gone is gone, we carry on Always forever by your side My blood, my tears, my bone Maiden, Mother, Crone (Down, down, down the road Down the witches' road) x3
The original is so much sweeter and familial. Here, Agatha is holding Nicky's hand - in the SCV, she's holding Death's hand, which could be interpreted as either Rio or her dead Nicky's hand still. In the original, she says it doesn't matter what happens between her and Nicky, they'll always be together. In the SCV, she now says she must carry on, holding Nicky on a pedestal as her guide ever forward. Also, the different in the "blood, tears, bone" line is small, but notice how less personal the SCV is.
Now, the third and final verse, although not our last stop. The SCV and original version are identical. I'm guessing this is because a lot of it was made by Agatha and Nicky as a team rather than just one of them, and she really wanted to hold onto that.
The road is wild and wicked Winding through the wood Where all that’s wrong is right And all that’s bad is good Through many miles of tricks and trials We’ll wander high and low Tame your fears, a door appears The time has come to go (Down, down, down the road Down the witches’ road) x3 Follow me, my friend To glory at the end
The only real difference between the SCV and the original version is that in the original, it's the windy road at the point they originally made up this verse, not the witches' road. I like that Agatha is sneaking in a little "villainous" thinking in here with "where all that's wrong is right," and Nicky immediately going along with that idea.
Finally, our last stop is the very beginning. During the whole flashback sequence, we hear the verses being created in the opposite order that they are sung in the SCV. For instance, the SCV 3rd verse is the 1st full verse that Agatha & Nicky create, compared to the SCV 1st verse which is completely new and added post-Nicky's death. So, the very first inklings of The Ballad of the Witches' Road naturally were not even included in the SCV at all.
(Walk, walk, walk the road I walk the windy road) x2 Walk, walk, walk the road We walk the windy road Wherever it may bend I’ll be there at the end
Isn't it absolutely heartbreaking how the verse Agatha removed from the ballad is the one that talks about no matter where Nicky went, she would be there for him waiting? And now she's specifically avoiding where HE is waiting for HER????? AUGHHHH.
In any case, that's it! I hope you all enjoyed my rambling thoughts about this tragic song. I am going to resume my sobbing now 🙂

new agatha x rio fanfic i wrote!! post episode five but if rio followed agatha out the door instead of teen, alternative ending <3
wrote this for @nyoclosmom happy bday ilysmmm xx
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Agatha ran out of the house, her heart pounding like a war drum in her chest. How could she stay? There were people waiting for her—waiting to scorn her yet again for hurting someone, killing someone. It wasn't like she had done it on purpose. It’s not like it’s her fault.
But then again, it’s not like it’s not her fault.
A tear slipped down Agatha's cheek, leaving a cold trail in its wake. Wow, she thought. Crying. Been doing a lot of that lately. Each tear felt like a release, but it also felt like a betrayal, as if she were admitting to her own guilt. She wiped her face with the back of her hand, but the saltiness lingered, a reminder of her despair.
Footsteps echoed behind her, quickening their pace. Probably Teen, the one who used to look up to her, about to yell and call her evil or whatever it was he thought of her now. Definitely not the hero of the story. She never was. But it was nice to know someone had once thought she was more than the infamous Agatha Harkness, forever tainted by the Darkhold. It was a small comfort, but it was something.
As she turned a corner, bracing herself for the confrontation, a familiar voice cut through the air like a knife.
“Hey, sweetheart. You good?”
Of course. As snarky, sarcastic, and sadistic as ever, Agatha could practically feel Rio’s smirk spreading across her sickeningly pretty face. “Almost died back there, huh? But lucky you. Making it out again, like usual. The first few times it’s cute, but after a while, it really starts to annoy a girl.” Rio winked at her, a mixture of mockery and concern that made Agatha's blood boil.
“Oh, you can’t get rid of me that easily.” Agatha shot back, her tone laced with a sarcasm that didn’t quite reach her eyes. She was visibly shaking, and she knew she wasn’t fooling anyone, least of all Rio.
But the one upside of Rio knowing every little thing about Agatha, whether or not she liked it, was that Agatha knew every little thing about Rio. And she could see through the facade—this whole nonchalant act was just that, an act. Beneath Rio’s bravado lay the same turmoil Agatha felt. She caught a glimpse of the tear-stained eyes, the vulnerability hidden behind layers of bravado.
“So, what's it gonna be?” Rio asked, the teasing tone shifting to something softer, more genuine. “You gonna keep pretending you’re fine?”
Agatha took a shaky breath. “Yeah, uh, I’m okay,” she lied. The word hung in the air, heavy and suffocating.
“Agatha.” Rio’s voice was low, insistent. “I’m gonna ask you again. Are you okay?”
Agatha bit her lip, feeling the weight of her own deception. “No.” The admission felt like a release, but it was also a deep dive into the abyss of her emotions.
With a sigh that carried the weight of understanding, Rio stepped closer, wrapping her arms around Agatha, who let the walls she had built for so long crumble. The warmth of Rio’s embrace enveloped her, a safe haven amidst the chaos of her thoughts. “It’s okay. You’re okay,” Rio whispered, her voice steady and reassuring.
As Agatha leaned into the embrace, she allowed herself to cry, the sobs wracking her body in waves. It wasn’t okay—not yet—but maybe it would be one day. With Rio there, it felt just a little more possible. The two of them stood there for what felt like an eternity, wrapped in each other’s arms, allowing the world to blur around them.
The memories flooded back, uninvited. Times they had shared laughter, the quiet moments in which they had just existed together. Oh, how Agatha missed it. She wanted it back. She wanted it all back.
“All I do is hurt people. I hurt Alice, I hurt my mom and her coven, I hurt..” she trailed off at the end, but the words were there. Nicholas Scratch. Rio forever hated herself for that, for what happened. She knew Agatha blamed Rio for it, as she should, but Rio also knew that Agatha blamed herself more.
“Well your mom deserved that, you know she did.” Rio reminded her, but Agatha didn’t need to be reminded of the trauma she faced as a child, of all the hatred and negative words engraved into her mind. All the thoughts that she was destined to be a bad person. Rio wanted nothing more than to show Agatha she was so much more.
“I know you think that you’re incapable of saving people, but Agatha, you’re not. You saved me.”
The words hung in the air between them, a lifeline thrown into the turbulent sea of Agatha’s guilt and shame. It felt like a small flicker of hope amidst the overwhelming darkness that had surrounded her for so long.
As they stood there, caught in a moment of raw vulnerability, Agatha realized that perhaps it was okay to let go of the weight she had been carrying. Maybe, just maybe, she could begin to heal. The road ahead wouldn’t be easy; she knew that. But with Rio by her side, perhaps it wouldn’t be so lonely after all.
“Can you try believing in yourself. For me?” Rio asked.
“Okay,” Agatha said, her voice steadier than before. “Maybe I can try.”
“Good,” Rio said, squeezing her tightly. “We’ll figure this out together.”
And for the first time in a long while, Agatha allowed herself to believe it.

TWISTED WONDERLAND: VAMPIRE AU
WARNINGS: Characters 18+ | Blood | Aggression | Mentions of Violence | Implied Kidnapping | Yandere | Dark Content | Etc | Proceed with Caution, Dove |
OVERVIEW:
Vampires have existed for millennia. Evolving. Just as humans do, spread all across Twisted Wonderland. With the ability to drink blood. Shapeshift. Immortality. Control minds. To grow and expand.
There are several breeds of vampires.
——Pure-Bloods: They are the First Vampires to Exist. They have that of royal blood within them. The purest vampires can turn humans and half-bloods into full-blooded vampires. They’re rarely ever seen, and many believe them to be extinct or simply choose to hide from society, both humans and vampires. Not much is known about them, but to fear and or respect them.
——Full-Bloods: Humans or Half-Blood Vampires that were turned into Full-bloods by the Purest Form of Vampires. They’re also born from two Full-bloods. Most Full-bloods run large covens and form families with other Full-Bloods and create their own hierarchy. They can also turn humans into a lesser form of vampires.
——Half-Blood: Born from a Vampire and a Human. They’re very similar to Full-Bloods, but can also walk within the sun, unlike Full-Bloods. They have a harder time controlling their urges for blood and are seen as a disgrace amongst certain vampiric communities. Most Half-Bloods are killed before they can fully grow or before they're even born.
——Hybrids: Born from a Vampire and a different Non-Human Species. They’re especially rare and insanely strong, with a mix of vampiric powers, and whatever else they’re mixed with. You can’t tell most have vampire blood within them since it’s rare for them to feel certain instincts unless they’re around a general weakness.
——Turned: Humans were bitten by a Full-Blood and drank their blood in return. This makes the once human, now forever tied to the vampire that turned them.
COVEN HEARTSLABYUL:
Located within a land of mazes and roses. Heartslabyul is by far the largest coven. Taking in all those that seek refuge as long as they can provide. Most of those that live within the large manor, was on the verge of death, before pledging their life to Riddle Rosehearts. Heartslabyul is strict, yet doesn’t hide away from humans. Instead, they keep to themselves and are cordial.
Coven Leader: Riddle Rosehearts

—Age: 219 [Turned at age 19]
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes. [Only when Donated and or Given.]

During his work, he was attacked and nearly left for dead, before Malleus found him. Both meeting once by chance and having mutual respect, Malleus offered to turn him into a Full-Blood and Riddle agreed. Riddle soon went on then to gather others, similar to him, and created a home for the rejected. He still follows his rules, that the immortal and mortal can coexist.
Right Hand: Trey Clover
—Vampiric Breed: Turned Vampire [Turned by Riddle Rosehearts]
—Age: 218
—Does he Drink Human Blood: No. [Only animal blood]
Born as a human, and a close friend to Riddle. Offering to help him no matter what, and staying by his side. He was the one who asked Riddle to turn him so that he could be of greater use. Many view him as human, and see nothing out of the ordinary. Seeing as he drinks only animal blood.
Key Figures:
Cater Diamond
—Vampiric Breed: Turned Vampire [Turned by Riddle Rosehearts]
—Age: 128
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Sometimes.

Ace Trappola
—Vampiric Breed: Half-Blood Vampire
--Age: 156
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes.
His mother was a human and his father a vampire. He lived an average life until his village was attacked and he was ran out of his village. He lived as a rogue for years, before Riddle found him and offered him a home.
Deuce Spade
—Vampiric Breed: Turned Vampire [Turned by Rouge Full-Blood]
—Age: 108
—Does he Drink Human Blood: No. [Tempted]
Born as a human, his village was attacked, and he was saved by a rogue vampire. Who enjoyed him and used him to participate in other village raids. He couldn’t fight against the Vampire and was forced to hurt humans until Riddle found the rogue and killed him. Ultimately saving Deuce
══════ ♡ ══════
COVEN SAVANNACLAW:
Located within a land of savannas and jungles. SavannaClaw is the 2nd largest coven. A coven that still participates in the old ways of drinking blood, but they as well interact with humans on occasion. They’re very secluded and keep to themselves. Yet he’s seen as a monster in human form. Savannaclaw is wild, with their only rules being to protect the weak, but they follow the rules of the world.
Coven Leader: Leona Kingscholar
—Vampiric Breed: Hybrid Vampire
—Age: 421
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes.
His mother was a lion beastman, and his father was a vampiric lion beastman, a hybrid. Born as the 2nd Prince, as an outcast, Leona soon left home and ran into the past vampire hybrid that ruled SavannaClaw. The two didn’t get along, and Leona decided he wanted the position, and thus killed the old leader and took his place easily.
Right Hand: Ruggie Bucchi
—Vampiric Breed: Turned Vampire [Turned by Leona Kingscholar]
—Age: 326
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Sometimes.
A thief that tried to steal from Leona, only to be caught and almost killed. Leona decided to take pity in turn, that Ruggie listen to his every whim and desire. Which the hyena beastman did and did well. So Leona turned to him and kept him by his side.
Key Figures:
Jack Howl
—Vampiric Breed: Full-Blooded Vampire [Turned By Vil Schoenheit]
—Age: 119
—Does he Drink Human Blood: No.
Friends with Vil Schoenheit, he became a vampire willingly, until betrayed. He ran away from the Pomefiore coven and stumbled across SavannaClaw. Though he is seen as an outcast for his association with Vil.
══════ ♡ ══════
COVEN OCTAVINELLE:
Located within the oceans and deep sea. Octavinelle is the 2nd smallest coven. A coven that still participates in the ways of the ocean. In the harshness, the absolute violence. They don’t interact with humans, they only view humans as food. Blood bags. Yet they sometimes pretend to be seen as humans to lure. They’re very secluded, yet pretend to be accepting. Yet this coven has many traitors, all which escape to the Scarabia Coven.
Coven Leader: Azul Ashengrotto
—Vampiric Breed: Hybrid Vampire
—Age: 326
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes.
Born from an octopus and vampire, he spends most of his time ignoring the portion of him that's a a vampire and often rejects it. He often vows about the separation of vampires, humans, and other merpeople and beastmen. He believes that they should remain separate and not intermingle. He has grown quite a fraction and even those non-merpeople align with his ideas.
Right Hand: Jade Leech
—Vampiric Breed: Hybrid Vampire
—Age: 329
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes
Carries out all of Azul’s orders. Though he doesn’t share the same sentiment. He likes the idea that humans, vampires, and merpeople mingle. He finds it entertaining in what mixes can create. Yet he doesn’t deny that the separation also brings entertainment. He truly doesn’t care either way.
Key Figures:
Floyd Leech
—Vampiric Breed: Hybrid Vampire
—Age: 329
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes
Enjoys the chaos. Enjoys the violence. He likes the part of him that is a vampire and everyone knows as much. He doesn’t hide it. Many of those within Octavinelle view him as a traitor, yet can’t do anything about it.
══════ ♡ ══════
COVEN SCARABIA:
Located within the heated deserts. The third largest coven that houses not only vampires, but humans, and anyone else. One of the safest covens that accepts vampires, everyone and everything. They don’t participate in violence nor anything else and keep to themselves, while offering help. An extremely safe coven.
Coven Leader: Kalim Al-Asim
—Vampiric Breed: Full-Blooded Vampire
—Age: 230
—Does he Drink Human Blood: No.
Kalim Al-Asim was born as a half-blood but his mother turned him into a full-blooded vampire. He keeps up the already functioning traditions of working alongside humans and offering them homes. He is kind and sweet and often houses vampires and humans, protecting them from other covens. Which also makes him disagreeable to covens with traitorous vampires and or humans.
Right Hand: Jamil Viper
—Vampiric Breed: Turned Vampire [Turned by Kalim Al-Asim]
—Age: 226
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes.
Born human and turned by Kalim at a young age to bind the two together for a lifetime together. Not much is known about Jamil except that he is a dedicated and faithful servant.
══════ ♡ ══════
COVEN POMEFIORE:
Located within the frigid mountains and pretty forests. One of the most popular covens where vampires and humans mingle. Where pleasure, beauty, lust and love thrive. With a large population of turned vampires who wished to be turned. The entire city is a coven. Most don’t know that they stepped into the Coven.
Coven Leader: Vil Schoenheit
—Vampiric Breed: Pure-Blood Vampire
—Age: 419
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes.
One of the only known Pure-Bloods that constantly mingles with humans. Seens as a very selfish vampire that loves the blood of beautiful men and women, and only accepts those of beauty into his coven. He’s harsh and almost antagonistic, yet well beloved.
Right Hand: Rook Hunt
—Vampiric Breed: Full Blooded Vampire [Turned by Vil Schoenheit]
—Age: 410
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes.
Once a human that went to Vil and asked to be a vampire. Promising to devote his very life to Vil. He’s odd, and no one knows much about him except that the coven of SavannaClaw hates him.
Key Figures:
Epel Felmier
—Vampiric Breed: Turned Vampire [Turned by Vil Schoenheit]
—Age: 329
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes
A human that fled to the Pomefiore Coven to escape a group of vampires that assumed he was a woman. Yet unaware that Pomefiore doesn’t do kind deeds without being repaid. So in turn for Epel’s protection, he turned him into a vampire.
══════ ♡ ══════
COVEN IGNIHYDE:
Located within misty mountains and underground caves. It's a small and very forgettable coven. With very few vampires. Most are unaware of its existence and it’s more of a myth than an actual coven.
Coven Leader: Idia Shroud
—Vampiric Breed: Pure-Blood Vampire
—Age: 521
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Sometimes.
Loner Pure-Blood that fits the description of unknown. He purposely chooses to remain hidden away and secret from the world. Yet his caves are insanely eccentric and house the most advanced technology in the world. All built by him.
Right Hand: Ortho Shroud
—Vampiric Breed: ?????
—Age: 494
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes.
No one is sure of what Ortho is and settles that he’s a machine but needs blood to run his systems. Odd.
══════ ♡ ══════
COVEN DIASOMNIA:
Location is unknown. Everything about Diasomnia is unknown except the name and that no humans can ever join them.
Coven Leader: Malleus Draconia
—Vampiric Breed: Pure-Blood Vampire
—Age: 632
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Sometimes.
The oldest known direct descendant of a royal Pure-Blood line. Yet no one has seen his face, they know that all covens must bow down to him and only him.
Right Hand: Lilia Vanrouge
—Vampiric Breed: Pure-Blood Vampire
—Age: ????
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes.
He’s existed forever, some even believe before Malleus. In a time of war and heartache, yet many are unsure and don’t bother to learn from the strange vampire.
Key Figures:
Silver
—Vampiric Breed: Turned Vampire [Turned by Lilia Vanrouge]
—Age: 253
—Does he Drink Human Blood: No
A human that is bound to Malleus. There’s not much more to him, is there?
Sebek Zigvolt
—Vampiric Breed: Half-Blood Vampire
—Age: 248
—Does he Drink Human Blood: Yes.
Very proudly, does he hate humans. And very proudly does he drink their blood to show clear superiority. Even though human blood exists within his veins. Malleus and Lilia have both refused to change him fully.
—NRC [NIGHT RAVEN COVEN]: The meeting place of all Covens. All coven leaders and their selected members must gather to fix grudges and prevent coven wars.
—RSA [ROYAL SWORD ASYLUM]: Those that protect humans from vampires and fight against the spreading of covens. Some believe that RSA is trying to learn a way to unturn vampires and return them back to humans.
—NBC [NOBLE BELL CHURCH]: Vampires are demonic and NBC specializes in raising vampire hunters. They are quite successful in their talents.
“NRC asks for our presence. You will accompany us.”
His words are familiar demands, yet they have no force behind them, no sneer, no anger, no threat. Yet a demand in which he stares, with eyes of emerald, with the slightest hint of red. You merely nod, back still towards him. Keeping your eyes on the black lacy pattern of the tablecloth, feeling fangs pierce deeper into your wrist. You grimace. There is no pleasure that comes when giving blood, not if the one taking does not desire it. And he is keen on taking without giving.
“Sebek~ Be a little gentle. Before you hurt our little Dove.” A different voice, one that is sultry, purring almost, as he sits across the dining table, elbows pressed against the wood and chin within his palms. Yet magenta eyes are ever so amused.
No matter how much you hate that nickname, he continues to refer to you as such. You wince as the man nearly growls, annoyed by his elders words, yet listening. Feeling his teeth leave your skin and listening to his heavy exhale, steam rolling past his lips as he relishes in the moment. You pull your wrist away, using the already red splotchy towel to cover the wound, a towel that has been used two times prior to this moment. The pain is quick to fade, yet you know the marks won’t. They never do.
“Dove. Did you hear me?”
You turn to your capture. The one who said your blood had the sweetest smell and the most unique taste. The best type to every grace of his immortal tongue. That made him feel almost human again. Almost. He leans back in his chair, sitting at the head of the table, one that isn’t any different from the others, yet seems like a throne amongst mere stools. Staring with unblinking eyes, as he holds a half empty wine glass, one that he occasionally sips. “… Yes… My Lord…” The words are forced past your lips as your semi-bow, rising your seat, still gingerly covering your arm. He dismisses you with a simple nod, yet a promise to visit later.
Cause blood in his glass is merely never enough to satisfy him.

I'm sharing my Ideas and Concepts for the Swap AU, actually
Phillip and Caleb are modern day
They're orphaned brothers still, but Caleb is 7-10 years older than Phillip in this AU
Caleb and Phillip were "They are A Set, Do Not Separate" in the system, kicking up a fuss and generally making themselves unadoptable if someone tried to only adopt one of them. Once Caleb aged out (he'd already gotten a job at 16 and had been saving up), he said "Okay, I'm next of kin, taking my orphaned brother with me :)"
As previously mentioned, Phillip is into witchhunting as a concept. Caleb's like "Okay, harmless enough, he understands magic isn't real and most of this was fearmongering/politics/paranoia." It's not your average interest, but it makes him happy, and that's what's important.
Caleb befriends and eventually starts dating a young woman called Evelyn. Phillip thinks she's sketchy, but he doesn't actually have any proof or reasoning other than "vibes" and he's like 93% he's just jealous that his brother is connecting other people which is CRINGE of him, and she makes Caleb happy so whatever. He has a sort of [side eyes] relationship with her. She's trying to befriend him. He's trying for Caleb but thinks she's suspicious still
Caleb tells Pip he's planning to propose. Phillip freaks out at the idea of that change and inviting someone else so completely into their lives, and he runs off
He spots Evelyn hanging around at the old house and follows her, thinking "wait, maybe she really is up to something"
He follows her into the demon realm
Oh, his brother's fiance is a witch
Oh, his brother's fiance is a witch
He makes a grab for the key, bolts for it to get home and leave her in the isles forever, but he sorta. Loses the key in the chaos that is "First Time In The Isles Is Disorienting and Dangerous." Oops!
Now they're both stranded from Caleb/Evelyn's main source of income (human stuff stand, not Caleb, lol)! Well, too bad, Evelyn, you've been roleswapped with Eda. Added intrigue of having already known and having a funky relationship with your new kid. You two WILL learn to get along.
The coven system isn't REALLY a thing? Like, there are different kinds of magics, and tracks are taught separate as their own fields rather than mixed, and there are still "coven heads" as experts (the hexsquad, mostly, plus assorted other Hexsidians for the remaining uncovered tracks) but you can multitrack and learn a little of everything if you want
Evelyn is a wanted criminal on the isles just like Eda; Luz needs the key for the titan's blood so that she can free the Collector, rather than needing the door itself
