Khonshu looked at the necklace in awe, noticing the details that she spoke of - he was shocked she remembered the first night they shared a kiss. He pulled her closer to help her stay up, working on healing her still. Khonshu began feeling tired but tried to ignore the feeling.
"There is no need to remember you. We are leaving this place." He nodded and shuffled her body into his arms, carrying the goddess, bridal style. He stared at her every soften, trying to watch any damage done to her, that it was working and healing her. "Even if I had to remember you, I wouldn't need anything because I could never forget you." He stared forward, his eyes brimming with clear water.
The god walked around for a while till he recognized where they were. He stopped at the near by water to rinse both of them off, to help hide any blood that had been on them. He hoped that the water would stay on them for long enough to get by without people freaking out about his blood stained garments. Carrying her until they found El-Alamein, he stopped to speak with some street folk. Eventually he dropped several Egyptian pounds into their hands from the one pocket. It wasn't too big of an issue but it wasn't simple either as he was holding the goddess up with his arm, hoping she had enough energy to stand, but even if she didn't, no one would be able to tell as the God was able to hold her up perfectly.
Thanking the pair, he picked up Hecate again and began walking with the one man . Khonshu spoke in Egyptian, unsure if the goddess had practiced any- but even if she did, all he was really talking about were he could get a private room for several weeks without too much trouble. When questioned about the state of Hecate, he told them that she had gotten too much sun and that's why he was headed to a near by hotel instead of trying to return to Alexandria.
Once Khonshu made some calls at the hotel while letting Hecate rest on a couch within eye shot of him, he was able to pay the front desk without a card. Thanking them very cheerfully and with a cleaned up smile he walked back to the goddess to retrieve her. "Do you want a proper bath, or to rest, my love?"

She had to admit to herself that hearing him proclaim how much Hecate meant to him was endearing. Hearing Khonshu say her name amidst tears had a soothing feeling to it, but the Greek goddess was still too weak physically and emotionally fragile to reciprocate such sentiments. Breathing out her confession took the last trace of energy in her body and mind there and for now, she would just rest in his arms, accepting all his warmth that came from his healing spell.
They sat there in silence, but Hecate did not feel hopeless or any hint of solitude at that moment. She was now able to see his eyes, the eyes she had fallen in love with and Khonshu was no longer the wrathful creature that held her up by her neck anymore. Hecate would close her eyes at the feeling of his kisses and as Khonshu apologized, she took a hand to rest on one of his cheeks. Her expression was neutral, not in pain anymore but not energetic enough to smile or show how calm she started to feel with again.
"I brought that sorrow and wrath to your heart. For centuries I have been tainting your soul with my selfis-" Hecate interrupted herself, feeling her vocal chords still too sensitive to speak for long. Hecate's body started to recuperate, yet her neck still had a long way to go before it would be fully healed. The damage brought upon her delicate skin had come from the wrath of a God, so it wouldn't dissipate easily. Even if the same God was now trying to heal it. Feeling well enough, Hecate would sit up but keeping their proximity and even holding one of his hands. Her other hand reached for her dress's side pocket and retrieved two chains from it, which had a pendant each.
The pendant was see-through, like glass but it had been etched with what seemed to be a star map. "The glass was made with the desert sands we first met." She speaks slowly, taking long breaths occasionally. "And the stars⊠It is how the sky looked when we first kissed." Hecate couldn't keep her eyes from tearing up, solely due to how inexperienced she was in proclaiming her affection towards him. The fact they were on the same page regarding their feelings still hadn't hit her. "I just want to give you something to remember me by, something that is not filled with sorrowâŠ"

Garden || [Sawamura Daichi, Sugawara Koushi, Asahi Azumane, Kiyoko Shimizu]
---
---
Back with my second installment of the Garden series! My Haikyuu fics arenât doing as well as my Daminette fics (which is expected, of course), but,,, my urge to write for Haikyuu is too much.Â
This is going to be the mainpost for the above characters and thereâs going to be sub-chapters focusing on each of the characters later on.Â
Enjoy!Â
---
You had been friends with the third years of Karasunoâs volleyball club since the first year of senior high. Kiyoko had been the first friend you made in Karasuno, followed by Suga, Daichi, and Asahi. The four of you could constantly be seen chattering together in between classes, during lunch, and sometimes after school when your club ended at the same time as their volleyball practice.Â
Yawning and stretching tiredly, you started to walk home, stepping outside the school gates. Just then, you heard the steady tap-tap-tap of footsteps, and a moment later, Suga was by your side, arm around your shoulder, smiling brightly despite the exhausting practice they mustâve had.Â
âHey, Y/N!â He greeted you cheerfully, a bright smile on his lips.Â
âHey, Suga.â You replied with a laugh. âWhereâs Daichi, Asahi, and Kiyoko?âÂ
He gestured behind the two of you, where the three said third-years were walking at a slower pace than their grey-haired friend. âHurry up! We wonât have much time to study if you guys keep moving at this rate!â Despite his words, there wasnât a single tone of annoyance in Sugaâs tone, which was one of the things you liked about him.Â
âComing!â Daichi replied steadily, the three third-years picking up their place to catch up.Â
The five of you were headed to your place for a study group. Volleyball practice had ended earlier due to the finals coming up, and Daichi had insisted that everyone study hard. On the way home, Suga talked animatedly about how they practically had to shove Hinata and Kageyama out so they would stop practicing, head home, and get some studying done. Kiyoko laughed softly at the first yearsâ antics, Asahi and Daichi pitching in to add details at points in Sugaâs story.Â
Before long, the two of you had made it back to your place. Your parents were often out of town, in fact so often that they had a house in the city which they stayed at more often than their Miyagi home, so it was normally just you in your house, which was why the five of you preferred to study at your place.Â
It had been a while since they had been to your place, with the exception of Kiyoko, who stopped by literally everyday because the two of you were best friends and often completed your homework together.Â
âHey, the plants we got you are still alive!â Asahi smiled, kneeling down to inspect the four plants that were seated side-by-side on bricks in your little âgardenâ- That was, the front porch of your house.Â
In your first year, your four friends had learned that you lived alone most of the time and it got pretty lonely on particular days. They also learnt that you loved- No, adored plants, so when your birthday came and your parents couldnât make it home, the four of them presented you with four baby shoots of adenium obsesum, otherwise known as the desert rose. It had been nice and sweet; Suga and Kiyoko had prepared some food while Daichi and Asahi bought a cake between the two of them. You would always remember that day as the day you realised you met the four best friends you could ever have in senior high.Â
âOh, yeah.â You smiled as the thought of your 15th birthday flitted past your mind. âTheyâre growing well! Especially the first one.â You pointed towards the rightmost one. The plant grew strangely, the branches extending forward instead of upward, but hey, it was sturdy (Somehow) and healthy, so you really couldnât complain. Plus, it bloomed the prettiest white desert roses. âThe rest of them are growing well, too.â You added.Â
Unknown to your friends, you had kept track of which plant was from which one of your friends and had named the plants appropriately. The odd, forward-extending but somehow sturdy desert rose was called Daichi. Next to Daichi was the one that was constantly blooming pastel pink-yellow flowers... That one was Koushi, aka. Suga. On Koushiâs left was Shimizu, the one that had taken the longest to mature, but after three years of culturing the plant, a batch blue buds had formed, which exhilarated you to no ends as blue desert roses were rare and you couldnât wait to see the flower once it bloomed. Lastly, next to Shimizu was Azumane, the tallest with small but pretty orange blossoms that always came in batches of five or six. Â
You had to admit, you favoured one of your four desert roses over the other three, definitely not because... you had a crush on the person who gave it to you. Little did you know, you were about to settle your three-year-long crush thanks to one of your desert roses.Â

He was angry again, at the fact that she would try and block him from helping her. How could she be so selfish he thought, but as more he fighted the spell, he realised the damage he had done fully. "Peace!? Here?! I am with peace, when I am with you!" He cried out, tears brimming and falling suddenly.
He watched her, trying to hold her as tightly as he could in his lap. "Hecate!" Crying out until he heard her speak. A sobbed filled gasp escaped as he watched her. The confession he had been waiting for, the confession he had always wished for. This was no wish however. The wish wasn't supposed to harm her.
He was silent for a while, after her confession. He held her, trying to heal her as much as he could. Khonshu wasn't sure what he was supposed to say. He was extremely regretful for his actions against her. He had done so well, for centuries, not being the "one who eats gods hearts", the vengeful god.
"I'm so sorry...." he mumbled out, bringing her closer to him, kissing her head. "I'm so so sorry Hecate." Closing his eyes, he breathed in deeply. "I ran...I was so angry at you. I didn't know where else to go, so I returned here. I let the anger consume me. The more I tried to reason with the situation, I got angrier and angrier. I couldn't hold it in..." He winced, thinking about it now. "I was suddenly addicted to the feeling, once again." His voice was soft, and shameful. "I let it consume me, and take over. I was so high I didn't realise it, I know we spoke...but it was like it was a blurr. It was you, but it wasn't you."

TW: Physical violence, death mention, emotional damage.
Her attempt to defend herself was futile. At that point, her vessel's condition wouldn't allow Hecate to channel her full strength and hearing him make fun of her efforts, the Greek goddess started to believe her fate was about to have a much grim path.
It is known Gods cannot die, their vessel could indeed perish and make their existence reduced to nearly nothing, a forgotten force of the world that would take eons to return. A death, but a divine one. Hecate could only think of how she would never see her daughters again. How little she had been trying to become a better mom and how she wished to turn back all her wrongdoings toward the people she loved.
Barely able to listen to him, with a buzzing deafening sound occupying her brain due to the lack of air in her body, Khonshu's rhetorical questions were simply another nail in the coffin and Hecate prayed to herself that her last attempt to reach him could at the very least heal his heart from her toxicity. She closed her eyes, praying for her daughter's safety and his happiness, ready for what was about to come.
But that was when Hecate felt herself being freed from his grip, not to a comforting release but to feel her body clash against the boulders that formed the ground he was stepping on. Just like the corpse earlier, her fall echoed through the cave and Hecate wouldn't move for a few seconds, feeling a stabbing pain in one of her legs making her believe it had been broken due to the impact. Along with drastically damaged vocal chords, the newly broken leg, Hecate also realized her fingers were almost all fractured, with how hard she tried to fight his hand.
Only once Khonshu spoke again did Hecate look back at him. Not even being able to take her hand to hold her neck, with how sensitive and bruised it was. Her vision was incredibly blurry, her whole body was in shock from what just happened so Hecate's reactions were slow and nearly nonexistent. But as Khonshu approached, Hecate tried to drag her body away from him, not noticing how his state of mind had returned to normal. His question sparked a feeling of frustration inside her and seeing his hand touching her again, it didn't matter if his intention was to heal Hecate, a barrier spell still arose, making space between them. Her eyes were latched onto his features, a determined but weak expression could be seen from her face.
Hecate couldn't physically speak, so she resorted to a mind projection spell, allowing Khonshu to hear her voice inside his mind. "If this is the peace that you need, if it means I cannot see you again if it means you will stop killing and find haven inside your heart⊠I am here, I came here for you. But please know that I- I have and I do lâŠ" Hecate wasn't able to finish her sentence as her body finally succumbed to the violence brought upon it. With the last hint of energy, Hecate removed the barrier and reached for his hand to touch her face, now allowing his healing abilities to help her.
A few seconds of silence pass, nothing but the glowing hue of his ability shining through them but Hecate keeps on crying, slowly breathing and with a very unstable voice, she finally speaks. "I love you Khonshu. I have always loved you⊠And I'm sorry I couldn't accept it before."
