After all, we've already recovered from the damage Team Andromeda has done for the most part, so its time to let outsiders in again, right?"

"No! You don't get it! At least for the past two years, I've had suckers within this region to deal with! And now you're telling me that I'd have to deal with suckers from outside Spira now, too!?"

"And that's a big deal how?"

"It IS a big deal! The nature preserve is far from finished! And don't get me started with the damn pricks from foreign regions that release their Pokémon out in the wild here again! We still have yet to fully resolve the damn invasive species issue to begin with!"

"Ahahahaha, ah, don't think so hard on it. Besides, who knows? The influx of foreign trainers would have them ending up capturing the invasive species too, thus curbing their population in Spira. Gotta think out of the box, our esteemed innovator."

"Sometimes, I have the urge to smack that smug look off you." She grumbled, before sighing. "Well, fine. I'll put up a good show for whoever foreign sucker ends up in my Gym. That, and I didn't doll up Adamantine Town to the marvel that it is today just to let it gather dust."

"That's the spirit! Now, if you'll excuse me, my Gym calls to me. Things are going to be busier for us from here on out now... Though I guess that doesn't change much for you, considering you're the busiest one among all of us, hm? Ta-ta~."

Terrible Fic Idea #31: A Maiden Dark and Fair, but make it f!Jon Snow/Jon Arryn

Perhaps I've just not searched the darkest depths of AO3, but I've seen relatively few fics where it's The Vale that's key to Jon Snow gaining the Iron Throne. There are tons where he relies upon the might of The North, more than a few that join or replace it with The Westerlands or The Reach or even The Crownlands, but almost none where the primary stepping stone to the throne is the might of The Vale.

And because I have a slight obsession with female Jon Snow fics, my mind immediately went to what if Jon Arryn, in need of an heir, married f!Jon Snow?

Just imagine it:

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that an unmarried lord of a Great House, must be in want of a wife - and Jon Arryn is facing the end of his house if he doesn't produce an heir.

But now he's outlived three wives. Marrying a girl as young as Lysa was a mistake, but even he couldn't see his third wife throwing herself and her only living child out of the Moon Door after she was discovered to be cuckolding him with Peter Baelish.

And so, thrice widowed and eight decades old, Jon Arryn must marry and produce an heir before he dies lest The Vale tear itself apart over succession.

Shortly after Jon Arryn comes to this decision, he receives a letter from his foster son, Ned Stark, sharing all the usual information and expressing deep concern for his bastard daughter, Serena Snow, whom he fears his wife will force to marry the first man who asks for her hand just to get her out of Winterfell.

Jon Arryn, seeing a solution present itself, asks to marry Serena himself.

It is, perhaps, a stupid decision for the Hand of the King and Defender of the Vale to wed his foster son's bastard daughter. Except: 1) There are very few potential brides from the Vale he can chose without offending a significant faction of his bannermen, and those that remain are still objectionable for one reason or another; 2) Lingering resentment from the Rebellion means that no lord from Dorne, The Westerlands, or The Reach would offer their daughter to Jon Arryn, even if he's the Hand of the King; and 3) Of the remaining kingdoms, Ned Stark's bastard might very well be the best choice if he wants a wife from a large family of some standing with a decent head on her shoulders.

Plus, Jon Arryn genuinely feels guilty that he wasn't able to do more to prevent the Rebellion. He feels that it's partially his fault that Ned wasn't able to wed Ashara Dayne, Serena's presumed mother, and thus his fault the girl is a bastard to begin with.

The result is the same: Serena Snow becomes the fourth Lady Arryn of the Eyrie.

It is a remarkably successful marriage, given that Jon Arryn would be of age with Serena's great-grandfather had he lived. Other than the requisite attempts for heirs, they live more like uncle and niece than husband and wife. This is in part helped by Jon Arryn's role as Hand, which keeps him in King's Landing most the year, while Serena stays in the Eyrie managing the Vale in his stead.

Before his death, they have three girls: twins, Emma and Elys, and little Elena, who was no more than twenty-four hours old before a raven arrived from King's Landing saying her father was found dead in his bed.

And so as we come upon the events of canon, Serena Arryn, 18, is now a widow of a Great House and regent to her two-year-old daughter, Lady Emma Arryn.

In her time as Lady of the Vale, Serena has made herself beloved by the banners and commons alike by the simple act of being present. There hasn't been a Lady Arryn in The Vale for any significant amount of time in decades. Add to that Serena has a good head on her shoulders and support from The North and The Riverlands through her family ties and, well, she's much more secure in her position than Lysa was in canon.

As for what follows, I see the real meat of the story taking place after Serena is widowed - in fact, I see the message that her husband is dead being the opening scene of this theoretical fic. Rather than exploring the dynamics of a May-December relationship, it's about being a young mother and widow - about being a young woman in a more-or-less secure position of power, growing into that power, and coming of age despite being a mother thrice over already.

There's politics in the background, of course, with Ned unfortunately losing his head in King's Landing - but here Serena throws the weight of The Vale behind Robb early on and is on scene to provide much needed, peer-to-peer advice. This keeps the Red Wedding from happening, either by forcing Robb to keep his betrothal or keeping Catelyn from making it in the first place.

Additionally, the strength of The Vale makes The Reach decide throw their lot in with Robb rather than Joffrey after Renly is killed. As part of this, Serena agrees to marry Garlan Tyrell.

The combined forces of The North, The Riverlands, The Vale, The Reach - and those parts of the Stormlands that didn't go over to Stannis after Renly's death - defeat Joffrey.

Stannis holes up inside Dragonstone, in largely the same position Queen Rhaella was tactically shortly before her death. The island is eventually stormed and he choses to burn rather than be captured.

Shireen, the only legitimate Baratheon left alive, is made Lady of Storm's End. Robb, never raised to kingship, goes back to Winterfell. Jaime, never released from captivity, is sent to the Wall. Tyrion gets Casterly Rock - and marries Sansa Stark, which to everyone's surprise is one of the most successful marriages of the age.

And the Iron Throne? The next male-line claimant is Doran Martell, through his distant grandmother Daenerys, daughter of Aegon IV. Few would accept that, especially if he refuses to leave Dorne and abdicates in favor of his brother Oberyn. Robb could claim it by force, but he has no desire to rule and not even his allied Great Houses would accept that.

Except, while all of this has been going on, Serena has quietly learned the truth of her heritage - and the secret has slowly made itself known despite her best efforts otherwise. (I'm inclined to say she becomes the Mother of Dragons, finding a cache of dragon eggs either in the Eyrie from Daella Targaryen's time or in the crypts of Winterfell.)

Plus, Serena has distinguished herself as Lady and Regent of The Vale. During the war, all of Robb's allies saw how she was his most trusted advisor - and how it was she who brought The Reach into the fold, and negotiated peace with Tyrion. And The Reach has always wanted their blood on the throne.

And so Serena becomes Queen of The Seven Kingdoms as Visenya Targaryen I. Her eldest daughter, Emma, remains ruling Lady Paramount of the Vale. Her children with Garlan Tyrell take the Targaryen name, with the eldest named heir to the Iron Throne.

Bonuses include: 1) Catelyn and Serena fighting like cats and dogs at all opportunities, for all the expected reasons. This reaches peak drama around the time Catelyn tries to release Jaime Lannister as in canon, only for Serena to prevent it. They eventually reach an accord, dealer's choice how grudging it is. 2) So much family bonding. As Robb's alliance is basically held together through his mother and sister's marriages, it is family drama to the utmost degree. To which end, Robb is a doting uncle and Garlan a beloved stepfather to Serena's daughters. 3) Realistic travel times, depictions of the difficulties of medieval travel, and the breathless liberation of flying on dragon back and overcoming it all.

Features two live performances

Dive! Dive! Live!

The first of which is from the Tattooed Millionaire tour, Dickinson's first as a solo artist. The video was originally released in 1991 under the title Dive! Dive! Live! and was recorded on 14 August 1990 at the Town and Country Club, Los Angeles, California. The band included future Iron Maiden member Janick Gers on guitar as well as Andy Carr on bass and Dickie Fliszar on drums. The show was directed by Jim Yukich and produced by Paul Flattery.

Skunkworks Live

The second live performance is from the Skunkworks tour and was originally released in 1997 as Skunkworks Live. The footage is composed of two concerts, filmed in Pamplona and Girona, Spain on 31 May 1996 and 1 June 1996 respectively, originally recorded for a four track EP released only in Japan, also named Skunkworks Live. The band includes Alex Dickson on guitars, Chris Dale on bass and Alessandro Elena on drums. The video was directed by Julian Doyle and produced by Jeremy Azis.

Scream for Me Brazil

Features a live performance from The Chemical Wedding tour. The show is entitled Scream for Me Brazil and was filmed in São Paulo, Brazil in 1999. The footage is not an official recording, but is actually taken from the feed that supplied the screen inside the venue and so is not of the usual quality expected of a live DVD. The band for this show includes Dickinson's songwriting partner Roy Z on guitar, fellow Iron Maiden member Adrian Smith also on guitar, Eddie Casillas on bass and Dave Ingraham on the drums. This was Dickinson's last solo tour before he and Adrian Smith rejoined Iron Maiden.

The second feature, entitled Biceps of Steel, is an adaptation of the Samson and Delilah Bible story filmed with Dickinson in the band Samson at the Rainbow Theatre in London. It was filmed and directed by Julien Temple who also filmed the Sex Pistols' movie; The Great Rock and Roll Swindle. The feature lasts approximately 15 minutes and was shown in cinemas prior to Hazel O'Connor's Breaking Glass in 1980.

This is a what if Troy went vigilante witnessing his friends and loved ones injured and killed by the villains went on a primal rage in the my hero universe unleashing his Fury upon the villains seven higher class villains 20 higher grade nomu we're defeated and taken down by him finally some of the villains were all taken down but the pro heroes heard of the news about a rogue hero fighting against every villain around the world so every hero decided to gather up and help Troy to stop what he is doing witnessing the death of Diana and the death of his aunt triggered him to go violent on the villains the only one he wants to take down is the league of villains but in the end he went back to Japan seeing class 1A and class 2B trying to help him to understand what he is doing at a glimpse they saw him he isn't the same all they see is his anger sadness the primal fury within him but then his mother showed up she was released from the hospital telling him to stop and listen what she was going to say

Elena: don't let anger or your rage or your primal instincts get to you I know you lost Diana from the villains but, that it doesn't mean you going around the world taking down villains threatening them injuring them or killing them that's not what a hero would do you where supposed to defend people defend innocent defend the strong and the weak look at me in the eyes and tell me what is your purpose of being a hero

Troy: my purpose of being a hero is to protect everyone that I cared for and protect friends and loved ones that you hold dear on ... I lost.....Diana....I lost my aunt Lola the iron maiden hero and in the beginning I lost my best friend in Middle School from a villain I don't want that to happen again and I don't want to stop until I find every villain and make them suffer for what they've done but there are some people that wanted to be a hero and was taken away from others that leads them to become a villain I helped some of them but most of them can't be saved anymore I feel bad for them that they've become villains like this I just don't want to hurt them all I see them as children that we're abused, bullied, and look down on but the one that needed help the most I suppose that wanted to be a hero I became this vigilante hero for a reason the reason of Diana's death I needed help from what I've done.

Elena: then let all of us help you to go through what you've been through that I've been through a lot in my life on home world my birthplace in this world is your birthplace your home your friends and your family even me your mother are the only one that's holding yourself together don't let hatred control you......please let us help you.

after that Troy broke down in tears and he apologized to everyone for what he has done he wants everyone to forgive him he just wants to keep people safe from villains everyone would forgive him they will not see him as a villain they see him as a hero who needed help the most.

𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍:  family  dynamics.

*these  dynamics  are  subject  to  change  if/when  i  write  with  Kol’s  family  members  but  in  regards  to  people  outside  of  these  specific  dynamics  this  is  how  I  interpret  their  relationships

𝐌𝐈𝐊𝐀𝐄𝐋:  As  a  child  growing  up  Kol  was  both  terrified  of  Mikael  and  in  awe  of  him.  Mikael  was  strong,  powerful,  respected  among  their  community  and  had  been  victorious  in  various  conflicts  with  neighbors  and  against  Saxons.  He  heard  all  of  the  tales  of  Mikael's  conquests  and  triumphs  and  he  wanted  to  be  just  like  him  in  that  regard.  However,  Mikael  was  also  extremely  abusive,  particularly  towards  Klaus  and  Esther.  He  ruled  their  household  with  an  iron  fist;  Kol  remembers  being  afraid  to  even  breathe  too  loudly  out  of  fear  of  Mikael's  violent  outbursts.  As  Kol  got  older  he  became  spiteful  and  resentful  of  Mikael.  He  hated  how  afraid  Mikael  made  him,  he  hated  how  powerless  and  helpless  he  felt  whenever  Mikael  attacked  Klaus  and  he  hated  how  their  entire  family  cowered  in  the  face  of  Mikael's  anger.  Kol's  spite  and  resentment  of  Mikael  drove  him  to  become  obsessed  with  becoming  strong  and  powerful  so  as  not  to  be  afraid  anymore.  He  turned  himself  into  a  weapon,  with  sword,  shield  and  axe,  with  bow  and  spear,  and  with  his  magic  and  as  he  became  stronger,  faster,  and  more  skillful  with  magic,  Kol  would  often  act  out  in  order  to  prove  to  himself  that  he  was  not  afraid  of  Mikael  anymore.  This  determination  to  be  fearless  carried  through  to  when  Kol  became  a  vampire  as  well.  Even  when  on  the  run  from  Mikael  with  his  siblings,  Kol  was  often  determined  to  confront  Mikael.  Kol  still  has  a  deep  hatred  and  fear  of  Mikael  and  when  he  found  out  about  Mikael's  death,  he  was  relieved.

𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑:  Kol  has  very  few  memories  of  intimacy  with  Esther.  The  majority  of  his  memory  of  her  is  the  way  that  she  favored  Elijah,  Klaus  and  Rebekah,  how  she  would  dote  on  Klaus  and  teach  Rebekah  how  to  hone  her  magic  but  what  he  remembers  the  most  is  how  often  Esther  would  berate,  belittle  and  degrade  him,  how  she  would  constantly  compare  him  to  either  Finn  or  Elijah,  how  she  would  always  make  him  feel  as  if  he  was  not  enough.  Kol  never  felt  particularly  liked  or  loved  by  Esther  growing  up  and  as  he  got  older  he  determined  that  Esther  was  indifferent  to  his  existence  entirely.  As  a  teenager,  Kol  grew  to  despise  Esther  as  well.  He  considered  her  weak,  neglectful  and  cold  and  she  was  largely  removed  from  the  ongoings  of  his  life  thereafter,  he  only  interacted  with  her  when  he  felt  like  he  had  to  or  because  he  felt  pressured  by  his  siblings  to  be  civil.  Despite  these  feelings,  he  was  horrified  when  Klaus  told  them  that  Mikael  had  killed  her.  Over  a  thousand  years  of  being  a  vampire,  living  his  life  free  of  parental  oversight  caused  Kol's  resentment  of  Esther  to  peak  when  she  was  resurrected,  irritated  that  he  was  expected  to  listen  to  her  after  living  his  life  so  long  without  her  involved.  Her  betrayal  only  escalated  Kol's  feelings  of  anger,  severing  whatever  lingering  feelings  of  care  that  he  had  for  her.

𝐃𝐀𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐀:  She  was  a  stranger  to  him  so  he  felt  nothing  but  anger  towards  her  after  she  targeted  his  siblings.

𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐘𝐀:  Finding  out  that  he  had  an  older  sister  was  a  shock  as  neither  Mikael,  Esther  or  Finn  spoke  about  her.  Kol  has  mixed  feelings  about  Freya,  in  large  part  he  still  considers  her  to  be  a  stranger  and  an  outsider  as  she  hasn't  lived  or  experienced  the  past  thousand  years  alongside  them.  When  she  first  appeared,  Kol  distanced  himself  from  her,  unwilling  to  accept  her  as  family  despite  Freya's  efforts  in  becoming  more  familiar  with  him.  When  Freya  and  Elijah  sacrificed  Davina  to  save  them  from  Lucien,  Kol's  anger  towards  Freya  grew  tenfold.  She  was  a  stranger  to  him,  a  stranger  that  he  had  been  willing  to  trust  with  someone  he  considered  precious  and  she  betrayed  that  trust.  Over  the  years  and  since  Davina's  resurrection,  Kol's  resentment  has  faded  somewhat.  He's  civil,  even  friendly  with  her,  he  appreciates  her  wit,  her  humour  and  her  power  as  a  witch  and  should  she  ever  ask  him  for  help,  Kol  is  willing  to  come  to  her  aid,  but  he  has  not  learned  to  trust  her  again.

𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐍:  As  a  young  child,  it  was  Finn  that  Kol  latched  himself  to.  Mikael  was  frightening  and  abusive,  and  Esther  was  neglectful  and  indifferent,  so  it  was  Finn  that  Kol  would  go  to  for  comfort,  security  and  guidance.  He  followed  Finn  around  wherever  he  went,  he  would  sneak  into  his  bed  at  night  when  the  thunderstorms  raged  or  the  winters  were  fierce,  he  would  mimic  and  mirror  Finn,  trying  and  oftentimes  failing  to  be  just  like  him.  As  Kol  got  older,  he  stopped  doing  this  but  out  of  his  siblings,  he  was  always  closest  with  Finn.  Despite  the  way  that  their  personalities,  views  and  opinions  clashed.  Finn  was  dignified,  obedient  and  calm,  while  Kol  was  boisterous,  rebellious  and  temperamental.  While  they  were  polar  opposites,  they  seemed  to  work  well  together  in  large  part  because  Kol  respected  Finn  above  anyone  else.  When  they  became  vampires,  Kol  relied  heavily  on  Finn's  morality  and  judgement  in  order  to  control  his  own  impulses  and  bloodthirst.  Finn  was  able  to  ground  Kol  in  ways  that  none  of  their  other  siblings  were  able  to  and  while  Kol  might  have  hated  it,  Finn  constantly  reminded  Kol  of  his  humanity.  When  Finn  was  daggered  Kol  made  numerous  attempts  to  find  and  undagger  him,  and  to  convince  Klaus  to  release  him  to  no  avail.  Eventually  as  the  centuries  passed,  Kol  stopped  trying.  Convincing  himself  that  sleeping  was  a  mercy.  When  they  were  both  undaggered  and  Esther  returned,  Kol  made  an  effort  to  reconnect  with  Finn  but  when  Finn  sided  with  their  mother,  that  betrayal  hurt  and  cut  deeply.  After  Finn  was  killed  by  Elena  and  Matt,  Kol  avenged  him  by  killing  Matt  and  mourned  his  death.

𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐉𝐀𝐇:  Kol  feels  most  insecure  around  Elijah.  Growing  up  Elijah  always  appeared  as  the  favored  son  by  both  Mikael  and  Esther  and  by  his  other  siblings  so  he  always  represented  an  impossible  standard  to  Kol  which  led  to  Kol  often  challenging  Elijah  into  petty  games,  competitions  or  dares  in  order  to  beat  him  while  growing  up.  Once  Kol  grew  into  a  young  adult,  these  feelings  subsided  somewhat  and  Kol  was  able  to  see  Elijah  with  more  clarity  than  he  had  as  a  child  and  as  a  teenager,  though  he  still  felt  some  jealousy  and  inadequacy,  he  cared  for  and  respected  Elijah  deeply.  Kol  has  a  desire  to  earn  Elijah's  approval  and  love,  mostly  he  just  wants  Elijah  to  like  him  though  this  usually  causes  Kol  to  lash  out  and  leads  to  self-sabotage  as  Kol  doesn't  like  that  he  wants  these  things  from  Elijah.  Over  the  centuries  Kol  has  however  grown  to  resent  Elijah,  particularly  his  relationship  with  Klaus  and  Rebekah,  as  without  Finn  as  his  support  base,  Kol  has  felt  consistently  isolated,  alienated  and  rejected  from  their  triumvirate,  these  feelings  only  growing  after  the  numerous  times  in  which  Elijah  helped  Klaus  dagger  him.  When  Elijah  helped  Freya  sacrifice  Davina  to  the  New  Orlean's  Ancestors,  Kol's  anger  towards  Elijah  increased  into  aggressive  arguments,  violent  outbursts  and  grudging  silent  treatments.  Despite  this,  Kol  still  cares  for  Elijah  and  will  not  let  anything  happen  to  him.

𝐊𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐒:  As  children  and  even  teenagers,  Kol  and  Klaus  didn't  spend  nearly  as  much  time  together  as  they  should  have.  Growing  up  neither  Kol  or  Klaus  shared  in  the  same  interests,  leaving  very  little  for  the  pair  of  them  to  bond  over.  Kol  also  despised  the  way  that  Esther  would  dote  on  Klaus  and  it  wasn't  until  Kol  was  a  young  adolescent  that  he  really  recognized  the  hatred  that  Mikael  felt  towards  Klaus  or  understood  the  abuses  that  Klaus  suffered  at  their  fathers  hand.  As  a  teenager,  Kol  tried  to  connect  with  Klaus  through  combat  training,  joining  Klaus  on  hunts  and  training  in  sword  and  shield,  and  even  spear.  It  wasn't  until  Kol  was  a  young  adult  that  he  grew  to  appreciate  Klaus'  other  interests,  such  as  art,  and  had  Klaus  design  and  pin  one  of  Kol's  very  first  tattoos.  When  they  became  vampires  and  Klaus  began  to  change,  becoming  angrier,  vengeful  and  malicious,  they  developed  a  playful  but  malicious  rivalry.  Competing  against  one  another,  bonding  over  kills,  their  savagery  and  wildness,  especially  in  the  early  years  against  the  Christians.  Despite  their  apparent  closeness,  they  shared  too  many  similarities  after  their  transformations.  When  together,  they  become  incredibly  destructive,  when  they  aren't  fighting  or  hurting  others,  they  are  fighting  and  hurting  each  other.  Kol  and  Klaus  are  able  to  get  along  for  a  short  period  of  time,  but  inevitably  they  end  up  butting  heads  and  few  people  survive  when  it  happens.  Like  Elijah,  Kol  wants  Klaus  to  like  him  and  he  wants  to  feel  connected  to  him,  but  after  centuries  of  resentments,  betrayals,  grudges  and  lost  competitions,  there  is  also  a  deep  and  conflicting  anger  and  resentment  that  Kol  feels  towards  Klaus.  Regardless,  he  still  cares  about  him  and  Kol  will  still  help  him  if  Klaus  asks  him  to.

𝐑𝐄𝐁𝐄𝐊𝐀𝐇:  As  his  younger  sister  and  being  six  years  his  junior,  Kol  feels  understandably  protective  over  Rebekah.  Growing  up,  he  tried  to  be  there  for  her  but  was  quite  easily  overshadowed  by  both  Elijah  and  Finn  and  Kol  struggled  to  determine  what  kind  of  relationship  he  wanted  and  could  have  with  Rebekah  as  she  already  had  three  very  protective  and  caring  older  brothers  to  look  out  for  her.  Eventually,  Kol  settled  on  being  Rebekah's  enabler.  Where  their  brothers  would  shelter  and  protect  her,  Kol  was  the  one  who  encouraged  her  to  do  as  she  pleased,  whatever  interests  or  desires  that  Rebekah  had  that  might  have  been  frowned  upon,  Kol  would  help  her  achieve  them.  If  Rebekah  wanted  to  learn  to  hunt,  he  taught  her,  if  she  wished  to  learn  how  to  be  a  shield-maiden,  Kol  helped  her,  if  she  wanted  to  leave  the  village  and  explore,  Kol  would  go  with  her.  Together  they  were  mischief,  daring  and  reckless.  When  they  became  vampires  this  did  not  end,  Kol  encouraged  Rebekah's  playful  maliciousness  and  her  vindictiveness  and  was  something  of  a  bad  influence  on  her  until  Rebekah  came  into  her  own.  After  Finn  was  daggered,  Kol  considered  Rebekah  to  be  the  sibling  he  was  closest  with,  which  made  Rebekah's  betrayal  of  him  that  much  more  painful.  Kol  holds  a  deep-rooted  grudge  over  this  betrayal  as  he  felt  that  Rebekah  chose  Klaus  and  Elijah  over  him,  further  driving  Kol  to  feel  isolated,  alienated  and  rejected  by  his  own  family.  While  he  is  still  somewhat  prickly  towards  Rebekah,  she  will  always  be  his  little  sister  and  he  will  always  love  her.  If  she  calls  on  him,  Kol  is  willing  to  help  her.

𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐈𝐊:  As  the  youngest  of  their  brood,  Henrik  got  all  of  the  attention  from  their  parents  and  siblings  alike  and  while  Kol  did  possess  some  jealousy  because  of  it,  he  loved  his  youngest  brother  dearly.  Kol  was  fiercely  protective  of  Henrik,  whenever  Henrik  did  something  wrong  or  took  a  prank  too  far  or  even  by  accident  did  something  that  he  might  be  punished  or  scolded  for,  Kol  was  always  willing  to  take  responsibility,  even  if  it  meant  that  he  had  to  endure  severe  punishment.  When  Henrik  was  killed,  it  was  one  of  the  last  moments  that  Kol  ever  wept,  devastated  by  the  loss  of  his  brother.  Despite  over  a  thousand  years  having  passed  since  the  day  that  Henrik  was  killed,  Kol  still  remembers  it  vividly  and  still  finds  it  an  extremely  difficult  memory  to  recall  due  to  the  emotion  that  it  elicits.

𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐄𝐋:  They  do  not  like  each  other  in  the  slightest.  When  Kol  first  met  Marcel  he  perceived  him  as  a  threat  to  his  own  relationships  with  Klaus  and  Elijah.  Kol  felt  as  if  Marcel  was  replacing  him  and  resented  the  amount  of  attention,  care  and  interest  that  Klaus  and  Elijah  showed  to  him  while  simultaneously  being  disturbed  at  how  similar  Marcel  was  to  their  deceased  brother  Henrik.  Kol  lashed  out,  forcing  Klaus  to  choose  between  him  and  Marcel  when  he  threatened  to  transform  Marcel  into  a  vampire  when  Marcel  was  only  fourteen.  Klaus  chose  to  dagger  Kol  and  Kol  has  held  a  grudge  against  both  Klaus  and  Marcel  for  it  ever  since.  As  adults,  they  still  can't  stand  each  other,  while  they  have  a  begrudging  tolerance  of  one  another's  existence  purely  because  of  their  relationships  with  the  people  they're  both  close  to,  such  as  Rebekah  and  Davina,  they  rarely  seek  the  other  out  to  interact  and  only  work  together  when  they  share  a  common  goal.  Otherwise  they  avoid  one  another  as  much  as  possible.

𝐇𝐀𝐘𝐋𝐄𝐘:  Kol  likes  Hayley  well  enough.  She's  strong,  intelligent,  loyal  and  brave,  things  which  Kol  respects.  However,  while  Kol  might  like  her,  they  don't  particularly  enjoy  each  other's  company.  Their  relationship  is  somewhat  tense,  swapping  banter,  insults  and  arguments  that  can  occasionally  go  too  far  as  they  still  don't  quite  know  each  other  well  enough  to  know  where  each  other's  boundaries  or  trigger  points  are.  Kol  at  least  attempts  to  be  civil  with  Hayley  for  the  most  part  but  still  considers  her  to  be  something  of  a  stranger.  Despite  this,  Hayley  is  one  of  the  only  people  who  hasn't  betrayed  him  so  he  is  more  willing  to  agree,  work  with  and  listen  to  Hayley  without  an  attitude  in  comparison  to  his  siblings.

𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐄:  Kol  struggled  with  Hope's  existence  for  a  long  time,  uncomfortable  with  having  such  a  helpless,  defenseless  and  innocent  creature  inserted  into  his  life  and  for  a  while  Kol  wasn't  able  to  be  around  Hope  at  all.  Hope  represented  a  life  that  Kol  and  his  siblings  were  no  longer  meant  to  have,  she  was  a  young,  innocent  little  girl  surrounded  by  violent,  aggressive  monsters  and  her  simple  existence  constantly  reminded  Kol  of  his  life  when  he  had  been  human,  of  a  life  that  had  been  stolen  from  him  and  reminded  him  of  the  person  that  he  could  have  been  had  he  never  become  a  vampire.  Kol  slowly  warmed  up  to  Hope  as  she  got  older  and  while  he  does  feel  protective  over  her,  he  distances  himself  from  a  caregiving  role  in  her  life  because  he  does  not  feel  suitable  for  the  role.  He  does  not  treat  her  with  kid-gloves.  He  respects  her  decisions  and  her  choices  even  if  he  might  not  agree  with  them,  he  respects  her  boundaries  and  is  more  willing  to  act  as  support  rather  than  adviser  and  is  there  only  when  she  needs  him.  He  doesn't  question  or  berate  her,  and  he  doesn't  judge  her  and  while  this  means  that  he  is  reliable  if  Hope  ever  calls  on  him  for  help,  it  also  means  that  he  is  not  as  emotionally  close  with  Hope  as  perhaps  he  should  be.

He shouldn’t be sitting so close, really, seeing as they were only just betrothed – and Caroline really wanted him to push his chair a bit further, but she had been told that you don’t tell a Targaryen what to do, much less the Mad King himself.

“Are you always so improper? Back it up, Dragon Boy,” said Caroline, who had never liked being told what to do.

Highgarden was a madness of wine and song. Enzo was trying not to vomit across the table whilst Damon was passed out underneath it. Loras was busy regaling a very drunk Malachai about that one time he accidentally set half their gardens on fire. Margaery was giggling, leaning heavily into Bonnie, who looked like even she was enjoying all the commotion around her.

It was strange that the everyone would have so much cause for celebration considering – everything – but… there you have it. Maybe she’d enjoy the party better if she wasn’t sitting at the head of the table, so far away from her friends.

“You’re sulking, Princess,” Klaus pointed out from behind the rim of his goblet.

“I don’t sulk,” she said, sulkily.

“Would it make you feel better,” he said, “if I named one of my dragons after you?”

“It would not,” she said primly, but Klaus hardly missed the little flare of curiosity in her eyes.  

“Qeldlie, I think I’ll name her,” Klaus decided. “It means golden. After your hair.”

Caroline, who had not yet started to learn High Valyrian, had to take his word for it. “A dragon in the Reach. Who would have thought?”

“These fertile lands suit them, it would seem,” Klaus said. He tipped his goblet at her. “Here’s to us Growing Strong.”

She tipped her own goblet back at him. “With Fire and Blood.”

The day the Targaryens came to Highgarden was quite a thing to behold.

Niklaus the Mad came swooping in on his dragon Viserion, whilst his sister Rebekah was on Drogon, and his brother Elijah was on Rhaegal, just like the stories they always hear about.

Katherine, a good handmaiden and a very bad flirt, was fanning her cheeks. Caroline wanted to snort. Who the hell did they think they were, rolling up into her lands with their bigass envoy and their stupid sunglasses?

“It’s not that hot here,” she grumbled. “No, Elena, do not wave!”

William had decided that to remain in his seat as one of the most ancient houses in the Kingdom, declaring friendship wasn’t enough when Klaus, apparently bored one day, wanted to liberate Westeros.

As if being an era ahead of them in technology made Dragonstone the ballers of the Seven Kingdoms. Klaus certainly thought so.

He was in William’s audience chamber when Caroline stomped in, huffing, and Klaus had tilted his head at her.

“Princess of the Summer courts,” he greeted.

“Your Grace,” she managed as graciously as she could, and sunk into a curtsy. “What brings you here?”

Klaus didn’t answer her. Instead he turned to William. “My Lord, your daughter speaks out of turn.”

“I—” blustered her father, turning a magnificent shade of magenta.

“I like it,” Klaus said. “So, have you heard? I am in search of a wife.”

“No, Your Grace - I hadn’t heard,” William said, the cogs already turning in his head.

Caroline’s barely had time to think whether this was a good opportunity to faint before Klaus has his lips on her knuckles.

Rebekah took to her at once, not because she was a lady as equal in beauty and stature as herself, but because she was someone to talk to that wasn’t one of her brothers.

“You’re lucky you’re an only child,” the Princess of Dragonstone confided one afternoon whilst they were practicing their stitching. She peeked at Caroline’s work – a pull of the needle here, a little thread there, and a flower bloomed to life in her hands – and looks approving. “You wouldn’t believe it, but brothers! They take ages getting ready.”

“You don’t say,” Caroline mumbled. There was already a ring on her finger, one of promise, and apparently there were two more to come before she and Klaus were finally to marry. She was disgruntled not at the fact that he had crafted her a ring so soon but more the fact that she didn’t hate it. She’d expected a big rock, and yes, it did come with that, but it was also surprisingly tasteful.

And it suited her very much, as if the gifter had taken exceptional notice of her hands.

He wasn’t bad company, she supposed. Things could be worse. According to Katherine things almost had been worse – apparently her father had considered a proposal from Winterfell.

Sure, the Starks were cool and all with their Direwolves, but she still hadn’t forgotten the time in Year 10 when Tyler, having invited Caroline over during one of those tedious Royal Exchange Programmes to experience court life in the asscrack of winter, had warged into his Direwolf in an attempt to impress her and had shed all over her favourite dress.

“Do you like dragons?” Klaus asked over breakfast. It was just the two of them since everyone else was still nursing their epic hangovers from last night’s wedding announcement celebrations.

She chewed thoughtfully on her lemon cake and swallowed before answering. “I do,” she said. “But I’m not talking to you until you tell me why you chose me.”

“I fancy you,” Klaus said.

She looked at him sharply.

“Is that so hard to believe?” he asked, sipping his coffee.

“Yes.”

The look he shot her was incredulous. “I see beyond your petals, you know. That you’re beautiful is a given – that you are strong, I have no doubt, considering your House words. But you are also full of light. A maiden fair as summer, with sunlight in her hair.”

Caroline frowned down at her tea and fought down a blush.

“If we finish up quickly, I’ll take you to see Qeldlie,” he said.

Caroline blinked at him. “Did you really name a dragon after me?”

“Of course.” He ducks his head. “It is not something I do often, mind you.”

She looked at him from behind the rim of her teacup. “I know.”

“Do you now?” Klaus asked with a tilt of his lips. He hesitated for a moment. “Dragons, they’re the opposite of humans.”

“How so?”

“They’re loyal,” he said simply.

“To a point, I’ve heard,” Caroline said.

“That’s true,” Klaus conceded. “If you treat them well. With the deference they deserve – but not so much that they can sense weakness. You must command them – and I saw that in you. You would have a dragon bend its knee to you, Princess.”

Caroline didn’t quite know what to say to that. She put down her teacup, and for the first time looked him in the eye. “Take me to see her.”

She was a magnificent creature, creamy white with gold markings, flapping her great wings and snorting hot air onto her cheeks. She stared up at it, wide-eyed with wonder, her heart in her throat as she took in its size. When Qeldlie spread her wings it spanned almost the length of her entire private garden.

“Golden,” Klaus murmured and tugged on one of her curls. “She’s a youngin, still, but under your care she will flourish. Have your other teenage lovers ever accorded you so magnoliously?”

“This isn’t a competition, Your Grace,” Caroline rolled her eyes. Qeldlie butted his hand out of the way to nuzzle into her cheeks, startling her with its sudden proximity.

“Klaus,” he corrected. “And I know it isn’t. They couldn’t possibly compare.”

“You’re assuming I’ve been courted aplenty,” she said, reaching a tentative hand towards Qeldlie before pulling it back. “I don’t think having a profile on RoyalMatch.com counts.”

“Have a word with your team about taking that down, will you?” Klaus started to scowl, before realising she was kidding. He returned her smile slowly, like he was out of practice or something.

“Like this, Klaus,” she almost chastised. She cleared her throat once and turned to face him fully and turned on him the famed Tyrell charm, the beguiling femininity of a rose.

Klaus studied her. “I don’t care much for pretence, sweetheart. I’d much rather you show me your thorns.”

Insistently Qeldlie returned her snout to her neck, and she yelped at the sudden heat.

“ȳdra daor!” Klaus commanded in his native tongue, batting the dragon out of the way. “Keligon bona.”

She recognized those words of reprimand at least – she really should had paid more attention in class. But how was fifteen-year-old Caroline to know she’d end up marrying a Targaryen, a House so ancient they were almost myth? Ironic, innit? twenty-year-old Caroline thought.

“Qeldlie,” she said slowly, and the dragon rears back and lopes gently behind her, growling something she can’t understand yet but hopes to one day.

Wait, hold up.

Was this dragon—

Was this dragon pushing her into Klaus?

“I hope it’s true about Targaryens being immune to fire,” she muttered when it’s clear the high heat in her cheeks can’t be politely ignored. Klaus laughed and buried his nose in her hair, breathing deeply.

“I’m immune to many things, love,” he said softly. “Apparently not to you though.”

She pulled out of his embrace and made a face at him – and he shrugged, like he couldn’t help himself.

Monday, March 22: Bruce Dickinson, “Headswitch”

Skunkworks was such an immediate commercial disaster that within a year Bruce Dickinson was in Los Angeles recording traditional heavy metal deliberately reminiscent of his former and future band.  But his third solo record (ostensibly the first as part of the Skunkworks band, but we saw how that went) was not only one of his most individual and interesting statements, it was in fact one of his finest albums, every bit on par with the two that followed and not nearly as trend-hopping as believed at the time. For example, “Headswitch” was a swirling rocker that, while admittedly containing more than a trace of mid ‘90s ironic affect, didn’t lurch aimlessly or wallow in angst like most grunge metal circa 1996.  Alex Dickson wasn’t a traditional metal guitarist, but his riffing was purposeful and focused, while Alessandro Elena’s drumming was both forceful and grooving. And Bruce sounded fully engaged- he didn’t work the upper end of his range here (though he would elsewhere on Skunkworks), but he was never less than absolutely convincing, mixing a punkish attitude reminiscent of his time with Samson with the genuine inspiration he felt working with this band.  And if comparisons to what Iron Maiden was doing around the same time were necessary, “Headswitch” was also far livelier and more efficient than anything on The X Factor.  To be fair, something like this could have only existed in the ‘90s, so it wasn’t all that surprising that Dickinson would move on and back towards familiar terrain. But that didn’t make the song or accompanying album any less of an achievement.

As the world fades to black, Matt sees memories flash before him, back to when he was in college. He remembers meeting Stephine and her cat daemon, Skip. At first, Skip didn't seem to like him or that was the impression he got from the cat. The feline was more friendly with Juniper than he was with Matt. Steph thought it was cute that they were fast friends even before they started dating.

The next memory is there wedding, it was one of the happiest days he's ever experienced. Matt wonders what Steph is dong right now.

The next thing Matt sees when he wakes up in the night sky except it isn't the same night sky he fell unconscious too, or maybe it's the clouds? He doesn't know and he can't dwell on that now. The main question he has now is how is he alive? He can't be alive, can he?

All of these theories are giving him a headache, instead of thinking of what is happening he gets up and dusts himself off. Matt looks around to see that the streets are empty-wait he looks around again hoping to see his daemon anywhere in eyesight. He doesn't see her anywhere and yet he doesn't feel the pull. Actually, he doesn't feel anything but he still needs to find Juniper. It might be a little hard with her being smaller than most daemons, so Matt looks to see where the lounge is and realizes he is right by it. He practically runs into the lounge hoping to see Juniper somewhere, anywhere.

"Long time no see, it seems" came a familiar voice from the entrance of the lounge. Matt turned around to see his former dead friends in front of him.

"Yo Matt good to see you, man!" Roi's voice boom into the room as he basically tackled Matt into a hug followed by Teala and JC soon after that. Juno came flying in just above them and landed on the couch with Elena and Castella following closely behind.

"You guys are being too loud for me to take a nap." came from a quiet voice from one of the shelves followed by a yawn. The group turns around to see a little head peeking out from one of the top shelves.

"Juniper!" Matt practically ran to the shelves to scoop up his daemon in his arms and hugged her while also trying to make sure he was careful with her at the same time.

"Yeah, yeah I guess I missed you too," Juniper remarked as she crawled her way up to her usual spot on Matt's shoulder.

"Alright, since that has been settled do you wanna tell us how you got here?" JC proposed as he sits beside Elena as he waits for Matt to tell his story. Teala and Roi take a seat on the other side of the couch, ready to hear Matt's story

"Alright, so here is what happened-" Matt starts as a white flash of light and thunder crashes down at the same time comes from outside.

"Whoa, what was that?" Matt questions as he gets up and makes his way to the exit of the lounge. JC, Teala, and Roi also get up and follow closely behind with their daemons. When the three finally reach the outside, somehow a fog that came out of nowhere advanced it's way into town

"Matt! Matt, buddy where did you go?" Roi shouts as stays close to the other as he calls out to his now missing friend. Castella sniffs the ground hoping to find the scent of her missing daemon friend and her human counterpart. Juno flew ahead to get an overhead view.

"Hey guys, I think I found someone." Elena beckons the rest of the gang as she trots over to see a very familiar rat daemon that belongs to a Colleen Ballinger. Castella runs over to Auggie and nudges him with her nose to wake him up. Instead of waking the daemon up, Colleen slowly lifts her head to look around and sees her former dead friends.

"Oh hey, guys what are you doing here?" Colleen says as she rubs her head and stands up from the ground by the bar. She dusts herself off and grabs Auggie and puts him on her shoulder.

"Uh hey Colleen, have you seen Matt?" JC asks as he looks around to see if he sees Matt anywhere in site. He notices Colleen's stiff attitude relax a little bit as he speaks.

"Are you okay?" Teala questions as she takes small strides towards Colleen.

"No, not really, our so-called friends locked me in the Iron Maiden!" Colleen explodes as she throws her arms in the air, then sighs in defeat into the neverending night.

"I think I saw Matt but he looked like he just vanished into thin air before I could talk to him." She relents to the others as she looks off into the distance.

"Uh-huh well uh, maybe he will come back," JC states as he opens the door to the bar. "Until then we can wait in the bar I guess."

Colleen just shrugs before she enters the empty bar right behind Teala and Roi and their daemons.

Some headcanons about Ellis' mom's side in terms of music

- N, Ellis, Clair, Elvera, Elena and Flint all listen to Metallica

- Adding on to that, they a represent different era's of the band.

- N represents the harder rock/epic era of the band, with songs like Sad But True and King Nothing.
