CW: loss of free will, involutary near-suicide (implied)
//ooc: transcribed from a discord rp with the muns of @ripper-the-indoraptor (Ripper, Yes Man) @inkteamatlas (Ebb) @averagedualies (Sage) @nom-kaanookaat (Spood)
//Note that I made some edits in placement to help things read better

Dr. Wily: Attention all Robot Masters! The Wily Dimension Gate is live! Please report to recieving for last-minute arrangements
Top Man: Oh boy... so fun /sarc
Dr. Wily: Contact with our sponsors has been established. They are coming here
Shadow Man: I will greet them
Dr. Wily: Good. The rest of you line up. There are a few things I need to do with each of you. Shadow Man you as well
"Yes Man: oh dear…"
"Enker: No-"
"Spood: O_O"
"Ripper: ew no"
Dr. Wily: Each of you will download this contract and agree to it. Don't worry, the code activates automatically
Shadow Man: With pleasure, Dr. Wily
"Yes Man: NOIDONTTHINKIWILL.GIF"
"Ebb Wakame: Sorry I was busy dealing with the healthcare system What's going on in here?"
Top Man: Um... did you not read the fine print on this thing?!?!?!
"Spood: Wily's got the robot masters downloading and agreeing to a bit of code with a contract attached and it's a bit sus"
"Ebb Wakame: Oh. Ew"
Dr. Wily: What line seems to be the issue, 021?
Top Man: Oh idk, maybe the AT-WILL REMOTE OPERATION CLAUSE?!?!?!?!?!
"Spood: hey doc what kind of fuckery did you put in the fine prEXCUSE ME WHAT"
"Ebb Wakame: Oh shit. Yeah ew. That's what happened with Sage. Don't agree to that shit"
"Yes Man: I put a lot of time and effort into gaining free-will, I am not tossing it away for someone I barely know "
"Spood: DECLINE. DECLINE THAT SHIT SO HARD"
"Top Man: I'm doing just that thank you very much!"
Dr. Wily: It's really nothing to worry about. I won't make you do anything you weren't already programmed for
"Spood: ... this week"
"Yes Man: that's exactly why I won't"
"Top Man: You think that's a good thing?! FRAG NO!!!!!"
"Ebb Wakame: I literally just had this fucking argument with someone. Like, straight up 2 days ago. With a fucked up ai. Doesn't matter what someone is programmed for. Also either way that's a massive violation of rights and free will"
"Yes Man: exactly!"
Dr. Wily: Stop being ridiculous. Do you forget who created you?
"Enker: This should be interesting… You don't have to put up with him, Top Man, I stopped a century ago."
"Ebb Wakame: Doesn't matter who created who, dipshit"
"Spood: 'I gave you life and this is how you repay me' says abusive dad robotics genius to his sentient, self-aware robotic children
"Yes Man: and why should that matter?"
"Ebb Wakame:Wow I am getting serious deja vu"
Svarog: There is evidence to suggest Top Man's creation was a joint effort. Between Wily and another person
"Ripper: yeah, Wily's ex"
"Ebb Wakame: That moron got someone to date him?"
"Spood: I am so very glad the twins are not in this server. They would be raking you across the coals, Wily. And those two are sentient by accident"
Sage [10,005] Sage is online
"Ebb Wakame This is one shell of a time for you to come back"
Svarog: Accessing database on Dr. Thomas Light…
Dr. Wily: ENOUGH! DWN-021 I ORDER YOU TO AGREE TO THAT CONTRACT!!!
"Spood: HELL NAH DECLINE IT"
"Ebb Wakame: Fuck right off with that"
"Yes Man: you don't have to if you don't want to, Top Man"
Top Man: I REFUSE!!!!!
TopMan.OS: Error: Fatal exception to protocol ASMV: 2 detected.
"Spood: Ohno. nononononono"
"Top Man: ...what's that?"
"Dr. Wily: you idiot"
"Yes Man: ohno"
"Sage [10,005]: I believe I have come in during an inconvenient time."
"Spood: Hi Sage, Wily's doing some nonsense again"
"Top Man: What does that error mean?!"
"Yes Man: it's ok, you'll be ok, I promise"
TopMan.OS: Error resolution initiated. Commencing manufacturer reset
"Spood: FUCK"
"Sage [10,005]: Wily. Justify your present actions."
Dr. Wily: Let me explain so it registers in your thick head, 021: Since you broke the second law of robotics, you're being reset to your creator's settings. Which means all your personality and memory files are being wiped
Top Man: But... my memory... my personality... that's what makes me who I am… delete them and I...
"Yes Man: nonononononono"
Dr. Wily: You should've thought about that before attempting to break the laws of robotics
"Yes Man: FUCK YOU, YOU ASSHOLE"
Top Man: No... I can't…
Dr. Wily: Want to reconsider, 021? I might be able to stop the reset if you'll behave
Top Man: Gh... rgh…
"Yes Man: it's ok, you won't be reset. Not if I can help it"
Dr. Wily: A bit late for that now. He's teleported off somewhere. And with what just happened now I have no way to find him. Oh well I guess
"Yes Man: die alone"
"Spood: OH WELL YOU FUCKING GUESS????? WHAT A JOKE OF A FATHER FUCKING CHRIST ON A CRACKER. GIVE ME ONE REASON NOT TO "FACTORY RESET" YOU, WILY, JUST ONE"
"Enker: I don't know who you are, but even if I sided against Wily in my world he wasn't like this."
"Spood: Oh yes hi I'm Spider Man, I live in Kalos and mail the local ecofash cult glitter bombs once a week! But yeah I'm just gonna. Try not to choose violence. With another old man today"
Clara: ...what's happening? oh... Oh dear…

Season 3 Initial Thoughts
- ℂ𝔸𝕄ℙ ℂℝ𝔼𝔸ℂ𝔼𝕆𝕌𝕊 𝕊ℙ𝕆𝕀𝕃𝔼ℝ𝕊 𝔸ℍ𝔼𝔸𝔻-
Holy shit, this Season was a doozy. I absolutely loved this season. It was a lot more intense than both Season 1 and 2, but had the realism from Season 1 that I loved so much.
Also I was fucking wrong, boys. Well not completely. I did make the prediction that they’ve been on the island for at least 2 months, because for some reason that was a reasonable number in my head. A nice believable number for the kids to have survived and did all they did, but six months!? Like half a year!? They would have been 1.5 years away from getting blown up from the volcano in JW2. Bruh...
The Scorpius Rex probably had the most terrifying design I had ever seen for a hybrid dinosaur. It felt way more threatening than both the Indominus and Indoraptor, probably because of it’s very odd hodgepodge of a design. I also love the twist of it being extremely unstable and causing other dinosaurs to lash out after being poisoned. Having this thing chase around the kids was definitely terrifying to say the least. Also wasn’t expecting Sammy to get spiked by the poison too (and turn an odd shade of green, sorta narmy lmao). I knew she wasn’t going to die, but I wasn’t expecting a nice squick shot of the quills in her abdomen that was a fun treat.
Also finally! Kenji, my boy, finally has some character backstory and development! I will probably do a more deeper analysis on Kenji’s drawing of his family, but is already kinda confirmed what kind of person his father is. He didn’t care enough about his son to want to put pictures of him on the wall, only himself. It makes sense why Kenji was so self absorbed as well. I found it pretty heartbreaking that Kenji risked his life to try rescue his father’s “precious” art statue. I’m not sure if he tried to rescue it because he was scared of his father scolding him or if he just wanted to bring it back for his father for a pat on the back. Either way, it’s just brings up sad implications all around.
Honestly Kenji had some absolutely great development this season, in my opinion, way more so than the others had and way more interesting too. I think the episode that really marked a change in Kenji was Episode 5 (Eye of the Storm), when Kenji took it upon himself to be in charge of packing. For most of the episode, he was acting like typical Kenji, but he began to take his job way more seriously when it came to the safety of his friends. When Darius took after Ben, he properly took charge of the group (nice contrast to Season 1 where he was more nonchalant about it and tried to pass off responsibility). It was around this point that we didn’t see Kenji acting all high and haughty anymore, he was fully devoted to saving his friends.
I definitely wasn’t expecting Kenji to run off with the laptop to make the trade and save Brooklynn. The boy tried to fight a man with a loaded gun to save his friend, how foolish and brave of him to try do so. It was amazing to see Kenji, who spent most of the series cowering behind others, fully devoting himself to protecting Brooklynn in the finale (leading her to safety and shielding her with his own body). I do think that Kenji has some issues regarding losing friends; I think that the Camp Fam really is the first friends he’s ever gotten, which is why losing them hurt him so much (Sammy’s faux death and Brooklynn getting kidnapped).
The way at the end when Kenji refused to forgive and accept the idea that they were going to risk Brooklynn’s safety over the laptop...it was a very mature way to handle that situation. Pragmatically, Kenji was absolutely right, they shouldn’t be risking their lives over a stinkin’ laptop. It’s not they’re responsibility, they’re just kids. But his friends were good people and Kenji played along, but decided to take matters into his own hands. His friends are important to him and he’s going to do anything to keep them safe.
From haughty jock who only seemed to care about himself to a team member willing to risk everything to keep everyone safe, Kenji really has grown so much as a character.
All in all, I’m surprised the kids actually made it off the island this time. My friends and I were placing bets on whether or not they would make it off the island this season. Everyone had voted that they wouldn’t, but they did...hopefully? They got a stowaway so I’m wondering how they’re going to deal with that. Go back to the island? Keep going? Clearly it all isn’t over because Kenji’s character arc isn’t quite solved yet. I wonder how many more season CC will have. I do enjoy the series, but there’s only so much they can keep right?
This initial thoughts ended up more of a Kenji reaction post, so I’ll dedicate the end here to some other thoughts I had overall:
Yasmina and Sammy’s friend-(or maybe more)-ship was really cute and wholesome. I found Yasmina’s chumminess afterwards Hello-Zuko-Here levels of second hand embarrassment xD (Are they a maybe-couple? When Brooklynn mentioned crushes that Sammy might’ve had she mentioned Yaz lmao).
Thank god, Bumpy didn’t die. She has her own family now...for at least 1.5 more years until the volcano explodes...
Ben, you stupid child, of course you want to get off the island. I would have knocked you out and dragged you on the boat myself.
It was nice of the pilot and mercenary to board the kids upon finding out they were children. Even though they died / ended up splitting up the kids, the meant well.
I can’t believe Dr. Wu was in this season. He isn’t as much as a bad guy as I thought. He still left the kids, but at least he didn’t...kill them? Set the bar too low maybe?
And that’s all for now. This being a chock-full Kenji season, I’ll probably be doing some analysis or posts on him, but thought I’d make a reaction post with all my initial thoughts for now!

So......I watched s2 of Netflix Witcher. It wasn't great, but not absolutely horrible either. No clue what the writers were high on, but I want a hit of that stuff. Incredible bullshit, this season.
Here's some things I liked about it:
- How they adapted the plot of A Grain of Truth with Ciri thrown in the mix, and how she and Geralt just walked away from Nivellen in the end. A very powerful scene.
- Vereena!! She is one of my favorite characters in the books even tho she doesn't do that much, so it was really nice to see her in the series, too. I liked the few extra moments they gave her, and the chittering sounds, and all the non-human things. (Though her watching Ciri in the bath was a bit creepy-crawly, even if it was likely purely out of curiosity)
- I hate book!Yennefer so much and didn't like her in s1 either, but now she wasn't completely horrible??? unbelievable
- her interactions with Jaskier and Cahir were the best
- Francesca Findabair/Enid an Gleanna is in the books considered the most beautiful woman in the world, and she's absolutely gorgeous in the show, too
- Burn Butcher Burn slaps so hard (and Whoreson Prison Blues, too)
- Jaskier's mouse friends!!
- "The Aard incident" yes please tell me more about small witcherling Geralt's shenanigans
- "Ciri, this is my...dear friend." "Dear friend?" PLEASE (Yennefer's 'dear friend'-letter in Blood of the Elves is the funniest thing)
- ah yes, Yennefer's stuffed unicorn that broke under mysterious circumstances (she and Geralt banged on it in Sword of Destiny or Blood of the Elves)
- Nenneke my beloved (though she couldn't do magic in the books)
- I'm glad they included some smaller side characters (like Jarre, Rience's homies, Codringher & Fenn and the cat)
- Very much queercoded Jaskier (talking about the "artist"-scene here)
- and he has a hat now!! And a very nice coat
- Buffskier enjoyers were clearly onto something. How are you feeling?
- Yennefer's outfits were gorgeous
- Coën's eyes looked really cool (the potions affecting only one of them)
- the Temple of Melitele looked exactly like I imagined it in the books! And it had that cozy welcoming warm atmosphere
- Tissaia de Vries in what I think were night clothes? Anyway she looked lovely
- Bard in Kaer Morhen!! (if only Eskel were there...)
- Those shots of Yennefer with the sword on her throat were gorgeous
- and there were some decent interactions between her and Geralt?? I deeply dislike the relationship bc at least in the books Yen is abusive towards him (and, as we all saw, it's not great in the show either), but the scenes at the temple were even enjoyable.
- the "basilisks" were a bit too velociraptor-indoraptor-like, but their design was still great!!
- Dijkstra and dear Phil!
- I'm glad they brought Dara back
And here's some things I didn't like:
- Eskel. They really massacred my boy in every possible way.
- Ciri. What have they done to her. She had some scenes I liked (like her talk with Jarre), but it was mostly bad (for example, when she and Yennefer portalled to the farm from the temple). Like I've said before, a bland ass sack of flour.
- Book Cahir is so much better too. Really hoping they'll steer him more into that direction in s3. (And Eamon Farren looks a lot like this Finnish singer-actor-sex offender Roope Salminen so it's a bit difficult to take the character seriously. Not his fault ofc, this is just a me problem)
- Why were there so many witchers? Were all of them from Wolf School? Way too many witchers. Way. Too. Many. At least they died.
- The previous one had (except for Coën ofc) there but I removed it bc they made him into a Wolf Witcher. He is a fucking Griffin. Not. A. Wolf.
- Could've used any of those unnamed guys and dudes for the Groot storyline instead of darling Eskel
- watching the scenes with Triss at Kaer Morhen and imagining what it could've been like with good, gentle and kind Eskel there...I need to reread Blood of the Elves or something.
- "yeah Ciri Kaer Morhen is very secret place" and moments later Creepskel has brought some friends for a party
- Geralt's ridiculous fucking tiddy armor. (Though I think he made it himself? Ngl kinda iconic. And it looked good from certain angles, but mostly just...no)
- s1 main theme (Geralt of Rivia) was so thoroughly badass. Awe-inspiring. Magnificent. S2 main theme? I can't even remember the melody.
- Them using African violets for Feainnewedds shouldn't maybe bother me this much, but it does.
- How on Earth did Ciri manage to surprise and kill not one, but two Witchers in their sleep??? People who have enhanced senses and likely don't sleep too deeply due to nightmares, paranoia and such????? What
- and how come those basilisks beat the shit out of and killed a group of Witchers, but Geralt manages to kill the biggest, baddest one without too much of a trouble?? And without potions????? Make it make sense
- Geralt in full-on parent mode is the best Geralt, but am I the only one that found the relationship between him and Ciri a bit...empty? Lacking something?? I don't know how else to say it, it just felt weird (not creepy, that's not what i mean) like that
- That Baba Yaga motherfucker. What.
- The entire season seemed to lack depth in some way.
- The plot had some good things in it (like Jaskier and Yennefer's interactions, Temple of Melitele until Rience arrived, Dijkstra and dear Phil, Roach number 387's very emotional death), but other than that, it just felt off and I really didn't like it. I wasn't that interested in it and mostly watched it to pass time, out of curiosity, for the bard, and to know what the fandom was talking about.
So, as one Joey Batey once said:
Seriously, if you can stand occasional monologues and being introduced to so many new characters at once (especially in the short stories), they're so much better. Though I do think I would've liked the show much more had I not read the books (not all of them yet tho, still got 3 more to go). Oh well.
Even though I didn't like this season that much, I'm sort of excited to see what happens in s3?? Yennefer teaching Ciri magic, Jaskier's spy stuff, possibly the Scoia'tael, Cahir and Fringilla's fate...let's see how badly they fuck up those, shall we!
#that ending might have given me the biggest book spoiler but oh well#the witcher#the witcher netflix#the witcher spoilers#taiga's witchering

I LOVE THE INDORAPTOR 😍😍😍🖤 Chris Pratt needs to get swallowed by Blue 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Indo was so pretty! Every scale on his body is perfection. He was such a good boy! I love him very much ❤️ I’d agree with letting Owen Grady get eaten if Claire and Maisy didn’t love him. He’s on thin ice though 👀 Blue owns my heart, clearly.

The Villain's Ending: How to Serve Your Villain Their Comeuppance
The Villain is one of the most important characters in your story, the driving force for everything that happens your heroes and your world. The Villain must be dealt with, we can all agree on this one point. The Villain has been tormenting our hero and they must be punished. And not by a falling brick, Dave and Dan. The audience deserves a real ending and your villain must be punished accordingly for their actions.
Punishment fits the crime/ Poetic Justic
The Villain has been cruel, they have done horrible things to our hero. The world decides to get its own back in the most ironic and poetic way possible. These endings are perhaps the most enjoyable to both read and write, they allow both you and the audience to have closure but while making echoes in the story.
Carrie is one of my favourite novels. Carrie has been pushed far past breaking point by the conclusion of her story, she has been bullied, humiliated and betrayed. Every character who has ever hurt Carrie (either physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually) gets their just desserts. She has been tortured for her strangeness and inability to fit in... and now, her strangeness is what she wields against her villains. She destroys her bullies at the school dance (wiping them put at an event which was meant to be the happiest night of their life), getting rid of Chris Hargensen and Billy Nolan, the puppeteers of her humiliation (using Chris and Billy's status symbol [the car] against them and taking control of it away from them to hurt them with it) and good ol' Mama Margaret White dies at her daughter's hands, slowing her heartbeat with her TK (Margaret is punished by her own daughter, her life taken by the gene she passed to her own daughter and via the symbol of love, a commodity she denied her own child).
Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a beautifully shot film and one of Disney's gems. At the film's climax, Frollo is trying to kill Esmeralda and Quasimodo atop the apex of Notre Dame. Frollo has a sword in his hand and seems to be winning, raising his sword to smite Esmeralda as she tries to help Quasimodo, reciting "And He shall smite the wicked and plunge them into the fiery pit!" But he has weakened the stone gargoyle he stands on and his movements cause him to fall and cling to the gargoyle as it cracks, its eyes glowing with sudden divine rage. Frollo falls backwards into the fiery blaze of Paris to his death. Justice is served.
In Game of Thrones/ASOIAF, we see this in spades. Ramsay Snow has hunted down young women in the woods with his hounds, tormented Theon Greyjoy into madness, had his stepmother and half brother fed to his hounds only minutes after the boy is born, killed his father (though this is a service to society), might have killed his own elder half brother, burned Winterfell, raped Jeyne/Sansa and being a pretty bad human being. In the show, Ramsay is fed to his own dogs while Sansa watches. Tywin Lannister has also been a terrible human being: having his son's wife raped while he watches, arranging the Red Wedding, allowing Cersei to set Tyrion up for murder, punishing Alayaya, his actions against the Reynes and Tarbecks, his terrible parenting and his general evilness. He is shot while taking a dump by Tyrion, the child he disparaged most in a rather inglorious fashion. Tywin dies leaving his dreams of dynasty to crumble, his unsavory relationship with Shae to be uncovered and humiliated after his death. The Seven were truly good that day. And not to mention Walder Frey, being served his own dead sons in a pie and killed by the daughter and sister of the woman he had slain in the very room he sits in. You can see the confusion and fear in his face as he tries to work out why this is happening, mirroring Catelyn and Robb's own horror and fear. Arya cuts his throat, echoing her mother's death.
In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, we are introduced to the hunter Ken Wheatley. He hunts the dinosaurs, helping the main villain in rounding them up. He has a habit of collecting the teeth of the animals he hunts. He pulls out a Stegosaurus's tooth, relishing in the prize without caring for the creature's fear and pain. Wheatley tries to do the same with the Indoraptor, thinking the beast has been tranquilized but Indy was just playing. The Indoraptor bites his arm off as he tries to pull her tooth, killing him in gory glorious fashion. Indy was a very good and clever girl.
Book Ends
The Villain sometimes is treated to a walk down memory lane in their final moments. The beginning of their story is echoed in their final moments, bringing the circle to a finish and creating a nice clean break. The end feels earned in these circumstances, rounding off the arc nicely.
In Harry Potter, Voldemort fears death. He has done all he has done for his preservation and longevity. Voldemort faces off Harry in the Great Hall of Hogwarts, one on one as it had been when Voldemort stood in Harry's bedroom in Godric's Hollow. As before, the action that begun the tale ends it for Voldemort. He fires the Killing Curse at Harry and it gets turned on him. Voldemort dies simply, with no thunderous drama. He gets both his worst fears wrapped up in some poetic justice. The circle is complete.
Arya Stark faces all kinds of villains in her trek across the riverlands in A Clash of Kings. She and her gang of misfits (Gendry, Hotpie and an injured Lommy) are cornered by Lannister soldiers. The soldiers gather the gang to send them to Harrenhal. Raff the Sweetling, one of the soldiers asks Lommy "Is there something wrong with your leg, boy?" And Lommy replies, that yes he is hurt and he has to be carried. Raff stabs the boy through the throat and jokingly repeats Lommy's request. Arya encounters him again in Braavos in the Mercy Chapter of Winds of Winter. She stabs him in the thigh and feigns worry for his condition, asking him whether she should help him to the physician. Instead, Arya stabs him in the throat. The circle is complete.
Though Braveheart is a rather mixed bag of tricks, it does get this echo right. Muireann has her throat cut for both marrying without the Lord's permission and attacking the English soldier who tried to rape her. Enter William Wallace who takes on the garrison and raises the village to utterly destroy the soldiers. He marches into the Lord's fort (the place he felt safest in as Muireann did in her village and metaphorically in her marriage to Wallace) and drags the fucker to the same post he executed Muireann at, cutting the Lord's throat. The circle is complete.
In Captive Prince, the whole conflict of the series kicks off at Marlas where Damen kills the Veretian Prince in battle, brother to Prince Laurent. Kastor has taken his brother Damen's throne and forced him into slavery. Damen's opening chapter has him being readied for his ordeals in the slave's baths before being sent off to Vere to serve Laurent. Fast forward to our ending and Damen has come home for his throne. He confronts Kastor in the slave baths where Kastor tries to kill him. Laurent steps in and delivers a killing blow, killing Damen's brother as Damen killed his. Two circles are fulfilled.
In The Heroes of Olympus: The Blood of Olympus, Gaia has begun to destroy Camp Half Blood, levelling the forces of the gods and demigods. Gaia began the first first cycle of the PJO Universe by having her husband, Ouranos/Uranus killed. Gaia had Ouranos come down from his domain the sky, away from his source of power. She had him ambushed and killed, her son Kronos, the original antagonist do the deed. We fast forward to the present and Kronos has been taken down by Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter. Gaia is mad af and rises to take out the heroes. In the end, Gaia's fate is that of Ouranos, driven from her point of power, the earth and destroyed. The bookends are a couple of millennia apart but the circle is complete.
There is always somebody else.
The Villain and hero are mortal enemies. The Hero has suffered at the Villain's hand for the length of the story, battling them in tests of strength, power and wills. The Hero must over come the Villain... or do they? The Villain must be beaten, that is a fact or else the story has no purpose or no meaning. One must triumph over the other. But there is no written rule that states that it must be the protagonist who must deal the blow and here is where justice can be done for even the most minor character.
The Captive Prince series has this ending in spades. Throughout the story we are pelted with the Regent's evil actions: Hurting Erasmus, killing Laurent's horse, setting his own nephew up to be sexually assaulted and murdered at the hands of the man who killed his brother, constantly being creepy, keeping children as pets, taunting Laurent about abusing him, killing his own brother the King, ordering the death of Pashcal's brother who knew the Regent ordered the King's death, of the killing Nicaise, corrupting Aimeric and his takeover of the Kingdoms of Vere and Akielon. We spend the story waiting for his downfall, waiting for Laurent or Damen to strike the blow. But it isn't them. Instead, the Regent seems to have won, trapping both heroes. Then comes the justice. The truth comes to light. Aimeric's mother testifies against the Regent. Evidence gathered by Nicaise and Pashcal's testimony of his brother's actions both prove to be a nail in the Regent's coffin. In the end, it is the ghosts of three of the Regent's victims who beat him and drive his supporters to abandon him. The victims get the revenge, not just the heroes. It isn't an empty victory for them.
In Outlander, Claire is kidnapped and subjected to torture and abuse at the hands of Lionel and his men. He broke into her home, snatched her, beat Marsali and tortured her. When Claire is rescued by the men of the Ridge, Jamie asks her which men attacked her but she cannot recall so he has them all killed excepting Lionel that is. He is kept because of his value to his brother and Claire's belief that a patient shouldn't be harmed by the doctor. Enter Marsali. She has hurt in the kidnapping and had to watch the strongest woman she has ever known subjected to horrors. She understands Claire will not take revenge because of her Hippocratic oath but she swore no such vow. Even the speech, is striking reminding us that Claire is not just the only one has hurt. "I've been learning the art of healing. Mistress Fraser taught me well. She took an oath to do no harm... I have taken no such oath. You hurt me, you hurt my family, you hurt my ma. I will watch you burn in hell before I let you harm another soul in this house..." Also, she kills him with a syringe which is a nod to his destruction of the one at the battle with the regulators. I for one hope it hurt.
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we see this happen a lot. Neville takes out the sword of Gryffindor and fucking charges at Nagini, a piece of Voldemort, avenging his parents' torture and his own brutal treatment in his final year. Bellatrix has killed Sirius and Dobby, both two characters very dear to Harry and his friends. They do not get to bring her down. It is Molly Weasley who gets to do it, a mother who has lost her brother, her son and almost her world to the ideals of Bellatrix. She fucking snaps and we cheered her on.
In the Lion King, we watch waiting for Scar to get his comeuppance after he pushes his brother off a cliff, chases away his nephew and destroys the pride lands. Though Simba fights a good fight, he gets a case of Hero-itus and decides not to kill his uncle (it is a Disney movie after all) but events transpire and then Scar is trapped with the hyenas, the same hyenas he just tried to throw under the bus only a few seconds before this.

But a man as wealthy and powerful as Tony Stark is bound to have a few peccadillos. What he is not, is the sort of man who would force himself upon another unwilling, unlike Lord Killian, who seems to have taken a particular shine to an opera singer in the troupe Killian is hosting. Tony rescues Mr. Barnes from Killian’s untender mercies, moves the troupe into his own home, and takes Mr. Barnes as his bed companion for the season. The arrangement provides protection for Bucky and the troupe from Killian’s spite, and tweaks Killian at the same time -- a win all around, as far as Tony is concerned. He sees his moment while their making out like teenagers in front of the big open windows in their apartment. "You like everyone watching Buck? You like it when I get all flushed and hard in front of our friends?" Bucky whined and kissed Steve harder. "Well lets see how you like it, huh sweetie? I'm gonna take you apart, right here where anyone can watch," he growled into Bucky's ear. "Rub your sweet spot till you beg for my cock. Hello, Well 2018 was a Great time for Cinemas, and what a Year for such Creature Features such as the ones I will be reviewing here, and now may I present to you some reviews of the movies that I've observed on the Big Screen that year.
Pacific Rim: Uprising – My First movie to see in Theaters since I couldn’t find a Perfect time to see Aardman’s ‘Early Man’, but I’m pretty sure this Year would be a Monster of a Movie experience in the Cinemas. Since I’ve have and Watched the First film on DVD, I would think that I should enjoy its Sequel that has been made, and even though Mr. Guillermo Del Toro (the first film’s Director) didn’t direct this Film, he Helped Produce it as well. And as I said before, I do Love a Good Giant monster film, and this film was always filled with Suspense, Action, & Drama, and I would Fear that there won’t be any Hope left if those Giant Monsters win. Also it breaks my Heart wide Open to see a Character who I say and Liked in the First film died in this one. And that one Villainous Character is sure a Wicked Dick (*pardon my Language*) about this one being Possessed by a Kaiju Masterminded Brain. And surprising how that Rouge Jaeger was controlled by a Kaiju Brain, Hit him once & he’ll hit you back Twice as Hard. But I’m glad the heroes win in this Battle, and it took near the Tail end of the Film for the Movie’s Title to appear, unlike the First one where you wait 15-20 minutes for the Main Title to appear in a longest prologue, but for Me, I would almost stick with the Original Film.
Rampage – As I said before, I do Love a Good Giant monster Movie, and this is one of them. And it was a God-Epic monster Mash, even had some hilarious Moments, like when George flips the Bird, and I was like “Did that Primate just flip a Bird?”, though I do know another Ape who can Flip a Bird. And not to mention that the movie is actually based off an Old Arcade game of the same name, and if you Look very closely in the Office Building of Energyne, there are Arcade Cabinets of the Original ‘Rampage’ game, and ‘Rampage: World Tour(?), though I’m not quite sure what the other one is. And the monsters are Hardcore Badass, I don’t know which one(s) are Great (though I pick all of them), and for Bonus, there was another Creature in the Beginning of this Film that was a Rat Test subject. And the Sequence where they hunt the Giant Wolf Down was Awesome and it gave me Goosebumps completely. Plus some Good Elements from the Game is Included as Well, such as Eating People, Tearing down a Building from top to bottom, the military being involved, and Destruction of the monsters themselves. Even when me and my Dad were watching it in the Theaters, and when Dad watched the Commercials for the Film, one of his Favorite Quotes from the movie was “And of course the Wolf Flies”, LOL! And the Lizard Monster in the Film was so Massive & a “Pain in the Ass”, there was no End in that Creature, even when you plant an Explosion in his Ears & throw Missiles at him, he gets back up again, and I thought the Impalement on George would have Killed him Completely, but it was just thru his Shoulders and Thank goodness not the Heart Area or Between the Chests. But still, this film was an Epic Fun Thrillride, the characters are Great & Fun-filled, and I guaranteed this Year would be a Monster Movie Experience in the Theaters.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - Well, me and my Dad seen the first 'Jurassic World' in Theaters back in 2015, so we figured since we love Dinosaur movies, we go this this latest update, and to our Surprise, Original Jurassic Park star Mr. Jeff Goldblum (the big Chill, the Fly(1986)) will be starring in Guest Role, and it was a Surprise seeing him in a Honda(?) commercial to promote the Film. And That my Foodtown was already selling products, even sodas & Chips in Promoting the Features, and it featured some of my Favorite Dinosaurs in the Film such as the Classic T-Rex, and boy was that Opening Scene in the Pouring Rain so Intense, the Surviving Raptor of the Original JW film Blue, who is one of my Favorite 'Good Guy' Raptors, the Comical Dino Hard-head Stiggy, who I find entertaining & Funny in the Movie, and My Favorite Villainous Dinosaur, the IndoRaptor, and if you think the Indomenous Rex in 'Jurassic World' was Terrifying, this IndoRaptor is one Badass Creep, even when she(?) smiles while playing Dead while one of the Soldier guys was about to Chip a Tooth off her, kinda gives it like a Cartoon-y feel to it like the minor ones in 'the Adventures of Pinocchio'(1996). And that Epic moment where the Island was in Volcanic Eruption was so Frantic, even one scene in the Film was shot in One single Lengthy shot during those Round Vehicle Thingies, an I thought the Part where one of the Brachiosaurus was Left behind on the Island while Massive smoke was covering him was the most Disturbed sequences in the Film. Well i certainly enjoyed the film, while my Daddy didn't, cuz he thought there wasn't much action or creature footage in the film, as he thought there was more of some "Love Stories" being put into it, that's why he might like 'Rampage' more, where they showed some monsters earlier in the film, but you might say that some Critics praised Pratt's and Howard's performance, Bayona's direction, the visuals, Michael Giacchino's score and the "surprisingly dark moments", while others suggested the series had run its course, criticizing the screenplay and lack of innovation.
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation - Well, Mr. Genndy Tartakovsky Never Fails to impress us with this Three-times Charmer, and how Lucky was I to reserve a Seating to see this on my Birthday of 2018, after a Good Morning at the Meadowlands flea Market, and a goof Lunch at Taco Bell, I hit the Theaters with my Dad, and the Movie was Fantastic, and since Mr. Genndy Tartakovsky Co-written this Film (along with one of the 'Austin Powers' writer), I know what some Moments in the Film, there are certain scenes that are free of Dialogue, just like the ones in 'Samurai Jack'. And it was a-bit strange to see a Character from one the 'Hotel Transylvania' shorts that I've never seen, and that short was "Puppy", but in order to watch the short (even for myself), I have to watch that Gross-out 'Emoji movie' for it. But for HT3, the Climatic part of the DJ Battle with Professor Van Helsing (Drac's old Nemesis, and was surprise to see him still Alive in Machine parts) & the Kraken was Awesome, I didn't remember the first Official song played, but I do know the second being 'Don't Worry, be Happy', and the Final one was none other than the 'Macarena' and supposedly it's the Extended River remix version of the song which I have on my I-Tunes and have no regret in Purchasing it, along with Daft Punk's 'One More Time'. So I like the Film and can't wait to get it for Christmas, along with 'Rampage' this Year. And I even heard that Genndy will be working more at SPA where he will be set to Direct an R-rated animated feature titled 'Fixed', and an Adventure Film named 'Black Knight'.
Smallfoot - When I saw some Preview ads on CartoonBrew, I thought this looks kinda Weird and thought I'd just pass on it, but after seeing some TV Ads for the film, and seeing how interesting it looks, I thought I'd give it a shot, and kinda find the movie very Interesting if you wanna feel Young at Heart, and was Lucky to see it on Columbus Day, the only Actor(s) in the Cast i know were comedian Danny Devito & Basketball superstar Lebron James, and to my surprise seeing the closing credit of the film that Cartoonist Justin Roiland voiced in the film as well as one of the Yeti folks in the Kingdom, and I only know the names Common & Gina Rodriguez starring in the film. And the Music and songs in the Film are Nice, and I like how some Advance the Characters or Advance the plot, and it was Hilarious hearing one Song being sung in the tune of Queen/David Bowie's 'Under Pressure', and since Common is a Rapper in real-life, he did a Good Singing on when the Stonekeeper himself tells Migo that Humans & Yetis were Enemies in the old ages. And the other reasone I like watching this film is that I'm also Fascinated with Yetis and Drawing them, as you can see from my old 'YETI & other Stories' story in my Gallery, and one of my Yeti inspirations was the old Unfinished/soon-to-be-Finished David Allen film 'the Primevals'. And don't forget that the SF film was inspired by a book called 'Yeti Tracks', which is a good thing that some Films were based on Books such as 'Mr. Popper's Penguins', 'Home', & 'the Adventures of Pinocchio(1996)'. And I like how the Film was promoted "from the Studio who brought you 'Looney Tunes'" in which case, it is made by Warner Bros., and also the people who worked on 'Storks', and this film now made me think of two Environmental Animated films from 20th century Fox such as 'Ferngully: the Last Rainforest' & 'Once upon a Forest'.
Halloween(2018) - I never even heard that the Original 1978 classic is getting a Remake, although It may not look like a remake, but a True sequel to the Original film, and avoiding stuff on what happened in 'Halloween II(1981)', 'Halloween 4 -Curse', & 'H20'. And I read that the original star Ms. Jamie Lee Curtis will be in this Film, as well as being executive producer for the feature along with the Original 1978 Film's Director Mr. John Carpenter, as in they want to make it look Perfect as the original Monsterpiece, and they did succeed in it in Keeping the Spirit & Atmosphere like the 1978 movie. And I gotta say, Micheal Myers is one 'Pain-in-the-Ass' monster in this Film, like he always is in the original series, and I feel sorry for the People who got killed by that Creep, the Podcasters, the Boy who was equipped with a Gun along with his daddy, and a Woman who Micheal murdered and left a Baby behind. And an amazing thing my dad found in a Twist of Story is when Micheal got hit by the Sheriff, the Sheriff and the Late Dr. Loomis' student professor went out to investigate and kill Micheal, only for the Sheriff to be killed by the Professor, and when the Professor dude wore Micheal's mask, my dad thought that he was gonna be the New Micheal Myers, but Micheal resurfaced and soon killed the Professor afterwards. And one part in the Film which left the Audience in an applause is a Sequence that was based off the Original film, when Micheal attacked Laurie and pushed her off the Balcony, he saw her Body Lying there, but when Micheal turned away and looked back again, she was gone, just like what happened in the 1978's film ending. even after watching this film with my dad, he still had alot of Questions need to be Answered about some parts in the film, and I wish they showed more of the Ending with Micheal being Burned alive in the Cellar. And this may be one Creepy Classic that i might never watch again, but I just stick with the original Masterpiece of Fright & Shock.
the Grinch - Man, I am seeing alot of Good films in 2018, and this one may be the Last that interest me that Year, and this one was an Adaption of Dr. Suess' Classic Holiday Tale, 'How the Grinch stole Christmas', or simply titled 'the Grinch'. And seeing how Interesting it looks after seeing some Previews and TV Ads, especially that part where the Grinch whispers to Max and Fred "This is the Loudest Snow I've ever heard in my Life", I've decided to give it a Go, and hoping to see if it's Fascinating like the Original 1966 Animated Classic and more Better than the 2000 Live-Action Jim Carrey one, and it was. How lucky i was to see this movie on a Day off afternoon on a Wednesday, and I thought i would be the only one seeing the Film in Theaters, but it was also some Girls and their Parents & Guardians, possibly had a Half a day off. But for the Film, I Loved how the Narrator of the Film narrates in Rhyme, like the Original Dr. Suess books, and how the Writers improvised the Story using the same Lines in the Books, and It had a Great choices in Christmas soundtrack, especially in the part with Grinch Wake-up Radio with some Familiar tunes I know and Cherished. And it was a Great Film produced by the Wonders of Illumination, the Wizards behind 'Despicable me', 'the Secret Life of Pets', & 'Sing', plus they did another Dr. Sues adaption such as 'the Lorax', even some of the character designs in the film made me think of the Designs from Disney features such as 'Wreck-It Ralph' & 'Monster University'. And some of the Voice Cast in the film I know of was Keenan Thompson of 'All That' & 'Keenan & Kel' voicing Bricklebaum, a jolly citizen of Whoville, and Angela Lansbury as the Whoville's Mayor, and how Surprised/Not Surprised to hear another Familiar Voice in the Film playing one of Cindy Lou's Friends, who that boy is none other than Mr. Sam Lavagnino, the Voice of Baby Grizz in 'We Bare Bears' & Pepper and Alien King in 'Summer Camp Island'. And I'd thought Ms. Cindy Lou Who would have a cute design just like the one in the 1966 Classic, and she did have a Cuter design in this Film when it comes to the Creative Artists of Illumination. And Yet, this has become another Holiday Classic, and when I told my Mother how much Fun it is, she might be hoping to get the Film on DVD for my Niece to Enjoy.
There was a Movie called 'the Meg', though I may have interest to see that, but I wasn't sure how much interested I will be with the Whole thing. And sorry if I didn't felt like seeing 'Ralph breaks the Internet' or 'Into the Spider-Verse', I go for the Obscure & Non-Disney taste in the Cinemas as of now.

Y’all I’m in such a dinosaur train right now 😂
Started playing Jurassic world evolution again, and HOO BOY my 7yr old self is alive and well, and I’m loving everything related to dinosaurs right now hahaha. So good.
Also rewatching Fallen Kingdom and Jesus Christ these movies are scary. Like I’m not scared by them, but like objectively they’re terrifying. I remember watching Jurassic world and being like Jesus it keeps getting worse and worse
And now fallen kingdom like the mosasaur right in the beginning, and the trex, and the freaking indoraptor. Like holy shit.
When I was a kid I had always seen glimpses of Jurassic Park on tv. When my family when to universal, I wanted to ride the Jurassic Park ride but my parents made me read the book first, which BY THE WAY is SO MUCH WORSE THAN THE MOVIE and way different too
It’s hilarious, they bought all the pictures of me on that ride, progressing from hiding under my dad being terrified, then slowly peeking out, then having fun on the ride 😂
Side notes: I have no idea why people hate on Jurassic Park 3 so much. I loved that movie lol, spinosaurus for the win!
Also I’ve never watched the lost world the whole way through. As a kid I was watching it and burst into tears when they broke the baby trex’s legs and my mom turned it off. Even now it makes me really sad and I just don’t want to watch it, and the beginning of it I have seen I thought was corny

Adapting
WARNING: A MAJOR SPOILER FROM “THE EVOLUTION OF CLAIRE” IS A BIG PART OF THE FOLLOWING ONE SHOT
Summary: Visceral take of the Indoraptor chase from Claire’s POV.
Claws and teeth had become her worst nightmare. There was a time in her life, back when she was young, when Claire Dearing thought of herself as a fierce and fearless young woman. She was not scared of anything; she was confident and capable of dreaming big, of fighting for what she wanted. She would stand tall and she wouldn’t allow anyone to tell her she couldn’t do something, she could do whatever she set her mind on. The fact that she had started as an intern and become the second in command at a multimillion dinosaur amusement park was just a small fraction of her testimony.
That time when she believed herself to be made of steel was long gone. Her brain playing inside her head the most tragic event of her life over and over again as she ran through the Lockwood manor along with Owen and that little girl. The three of them trying to escape the insisting pray instincts of Dr. Wu’s latest creation.
This was the third time she was doing this, and it never got easier. It was still as terrifying and as emotionally and physically exhausting as the first time. That damn clicking the Indoraptor tapped with his claw against the wooden floor sending shocks of electricity up her spine to her brain. It was the sound she hated the most, since the first time she had ever heard it, it haunted her mind. To her, it was the equivalent to a door screeching in the middle of the night triggering the darkest of nightmares in a kid’s mind.
It didn’t show, but she couldn’t keep her eyes away from Owen. She had her reason. Living this terrifying moment beside him was something she was grateful for, but at the same time she wished he weren’t in this situation.
How did she manage to drag him to this twice already? She had been the one to ask him to come with her and help her look for her nephews. What was she thinking when she begged him to join her out there with a hybrid loose? And now, he didn’t want to go back to the island and she had guilt-tripped him into joining her. In all fairness, she never thought it would end up this way. Now here he was, crawling around trying to escape yet another predator. It was all her fault, she had lived the past fourteen years of her life with a heavy sense of guilt and here she was fearing to add his life into the countless ones on her list, but Owen’s would belong right on the top, with his right below.
Claire was a smart woman, she learned from her mistakes. She thought before reacting, it was a good thing she was a fast thinker. She had learned to adapt. She was terrified of the beast hunting them, but she wasn’t scared of confronting it. All her senses were on alert, hearing carefully where the predator would step, if his breathing could be captured by human ear.
She had to remain calmed, even if her whole body was threatening to collapse on her, even if it took for her to demand her legs to move around when they were tired and shaking under her pants.
The sound of glass breaking and the heavy weight of that thick log against them brought her back to the worst night of her life. That afternoon she had spent running from the Indominus Rex didn’t even compare to the life altering encounter she had with the first raptor ever in Jurassic World. She never talked about it, she couldn’t without breaking down. Not even to Owen even when it was ironic how she had gone from almost being killed by a raptor and have the guy she liked die in her arms after being lethally injured by one, to falling head over heels with the one man who had proven raptors could follow orders.
Or maybe it wasn’t ironic at all, but meant to be. Maybe that’s what gave her a sense of safety when she was with him. This was not the same, she sure wasn’t used to running away from these animals by now — how could one ever get used to that? But what made these last two encounters different from the first one was that she had Owen. She had been trying to act tough around him the first time, proved that she could last more than five minutes in her ‘ridiculous’ shoes, but even in the middle of chaos it must have been evident to him that she was always seeking shelter in him, that she needed him to pull through.
She opened her eyes after the impact just to find those damn sharped teeth and glowing eyes on them. She couldn’t do much but try push him away. It was just like that one night, woman and beast face to face maybe with the difference that this time she wasn’t alone, at least not physically. All she could see as she kept pushing that log was a nineteen year old trying to fine the inner force it took to beat that animal’s impulse to jump on her and kill her.
She was tearing up already by the time she let out a painful loud cry as her skin was ripped opened by the black beast’s claw. She was already trapped in her worst nightmare by the time Maisie ran off, but watching the Indoraptor ran after her just made it worse.
The last time she had to say goodbye to a boy she liked was not how she would have wanted it to be, a smile is all she got before Justin had ran off to distract that raptor. She was breaking down from the inside, about to ask Owen to do something similar. Except this time the sacrifice wasn’t for her, it was for that little girl.
She kissed him to reassure him that she would be fine, but she was saying goodbye. She kissed him to inject strength in him, but she was letting him know that she loved him. She kissed him to let him know they would be okay, but she was actually having a last moment with him.
Run, she hated that word. She kept saying it only when it came to survival. Such a fun little action, kids ran when they were playing, lovers ran when they were teasing, and all she could assimilate it with was to move fast and avoid getting eaten.
She could hear the Indoraptor screeching, and that horrible calling sound it made. She couldn’t even feel the pain in her thigh through the one in her heart. Fear overruled pain. She had been a great multitasker since she was young, but for once in her life she was glad her brain couldn’t handle two different feelings at the same time. She was only scared, not longer in pain. She couldn’t lose time, it was time to adapt.
It took her a couple of minutes to come up with a bandage for her wound, it was deeper and the kind that sting the most. She found a way to stand up and with slow steps taught herself how to limp her way upstairs.
Adapting had become a second nature to her, she did it by instinct now — just like those carnivores. She was not a fucking prey, she was a predator and the most dangerous kind. She was running her way upstairs, crying her pain out as she did but she had to be fast.
Moving through branches seeking for Justin and slipping through the jungle searching for her nephews would never compare to this. The walls around her almost claustrophobic, there was no place to hide. She still couldn’t keep her brain from not shutting the fuck up and stop making her feel like that one night. Her hands were shaking as she held onto things for support on her way to Maisie’s room, she was following the mess the Indoraptor had left behind and the one she figured Owen had used to find her.
God, she hoped he had found her.
She finally made it into the little girl’s room, or what was left of it. She looked around and tried stay strong and not think the worse, except she had already lived the worst once before. She was no stranger to the feeling of having your heart sink into your stomach and the feeling of wanting to throw up.
She looked around to find everything destroyed, the bed and the furniture had been slammed against the wall and were nothing but shatter wood. There was broken glass everywhere, her green eyes found Owen’s gun and slowly bent down. She could barely hold it up, it was too heavy for the weak strength she had in her trembling fingers.
“Please be alive.” She begged to herself as she found the strength to pick the weapon up. How could he, though? The room looked like nothing had made it alive out of there expect that monster. The path of destruction led to this room, so they had either made it out of the window alive or dead but one thing was for sure, she was going to blow up that son of a bitch regardless. It was time to show him who was the predator here.
Claire checked the weapon for ammunition but it was empty, she figured Owen had used all he got on that animal. She remembered how they had tried to stop the Indominus the same way and it didn’t even tickle. The stupid weapon was useless, she figured. She was about to throw it to the side when she remembered what they have said about the new hybrid and his response to the laser; maybe she wouldn’t be able to blow his brains off, but she’d come up with something.
Claire stood up by the edge of the window and looked down. Great, time to face the oldest of her fears; heights. She had no time to be a chicken. The man she loved and that little girl might need her help and she was going to save them.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, for a second she truly thought about doing this with her eyes closed. It took her a second to opened them and want to slap herself for being that stupid, “get yourself together Claire, adapt.” She took another deep breath.
Steady and slow steps would get her to the other side, so she needed to be patient and take this with calm. She was trying not to look down, if she did she knew she would fail. Claire Dearing was not one to fail. She had a mission and one step at a time, inch by inch, she was walking closer to it.
She looked up, and that’s when her heart was filled with reassurance. The emotional and physical strength she needed to make it to the glass roof across from her was now in front of her.
Owen and Maisie were still alive, the rain was making this more challenging that she thought. The structure where she was slowly walking over slippery, but she got this.
“Hey....!!!” She shouted out while clanging the weapon against the metallic structure under her feet. It was her turn to bring her worst fear to face her and distract it from the person she loved. It was her turn to have the predator look back over and come face to face with her.
She had made it over just in time, she had adapted to survive, and this time around; save the one she loved.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom- Spoiler Alert!
So totally honest here, even though I’m a huge dinosaur lover, I didn’t have the highest hopes for Fallen Kingdom based on the trailers. It looked like another action/adrenaline sci-fi that happened to have my favorite animals in it, so it was more for fun to me than anything to go see it. And I was afraid that with the plot totally revealed via the trailers, I wouldn’t be surprised or enjoy the twists. I thought the island bit especially was going to be pretty bland.
Oh, J.A Bayona, you proved me so very wrong.
I’m not the kind of person that cries during a movie, much less in an action movie like Fallen Kingdom. I smile awkwardly through them because often times, the emotion never really hits me. I’m just not emotional during movies, I guess? Well, I’m not a very emotional person in general, and maybe that makes this even more incredible for me.
Because I never saw the scene with the Brachiosaurus on the dock coming.
I cried. Like, legitimately, I cried. Watching her walking to the end of the dock, towards the ship that was her only hope of escape as it left Isla Nublar engulfed by fire. Watching the smoke and fire catch up to her as she lets out that long, desperate cry for help, broke my heart. And then she’s swallowed up by the ash cloud and you see her sillhouette rearing up in the exact same pose we saw in the first Jurassic Park, when we saw a dinosaur there for the first time.
The first dinosaur we ever saw on Isla Nublar is also the very last. That majestic, innocent beauty is just...slowly claimed by fire and ruin. I felt like I got slammed in the gut by a sledgehammer. That image is going to be with me every time I think of Jurassic Park.
I’ve seen my fair share of character deaths, in both movies and books. I went through Infinity War not long ago. It shocked me, sure, but I was expecting those deaths, I guess.
This nameless, desperate animal crying out for help as she died made me hurt more than any of those deaths. And I have a feeling when I go see it the second time, it’s still going to hurt.
I never could have seen that kind of force coming in a movie like Fallen Kingdom, but holy shit, good job.
Okay, my feels aside, onto the other stuff!
Blue is still best girl, no questions asked. I was afraid I’d see a lot of corny team-ups with Owen and Blue against the security guys, but I was very relieved when Blue took care of things herself and took the Indoraptor down in a 1v1. I was worried that Rexy would help her in another Jurassic smackdown like they did against the Indominus Rex, but nope! Blue is a force of nature, no Rexy necessary! She put that hybrid down like a boss! There was lots of Blue, but I think I’ll always want more of her lol.
Rexy had her fun and she scared the shit out of me at the end. I haven’t jumped like that in a while. Props to the old lady, she’s still got it.
The Indoraptor was actually not what I expected, in several ways. I thought this hybrid was supposed to be the refined version of the Indominus, but I was surprised when Wu said he was very much still a prototype. He, by the way, because it was a male, but that wasn’t super important in the movie. It’s not actually made up of the Indominus and Blue’s DNA, like I thought. It’s just that—a refined Indominus. It hasn’t been perfected, not by a long shot. You see that in the movie. He’s a bit twitchy, his roars sound hoarse and scratchy, like he hasn’t been made properly. It definitely feels a lot creepier than the Indominus did given the setting, but the threatening feeling doesn’t meet his predecessor by far. Indoraptor lacks the camouflage ability, the thermal control, and it seems to be almost mechanical with the targeting device, which is kind of interesting.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved the Indoraptor. Visually, it was amazing, you could see it’s cleverness and that it was a twisted animal, but I found myself wanting to know more about it. They didn’t have as much time in the movie to build it up like they did with the Indominus, so that’s to be expected, I guess, but still. It was a really cool hybrid and in the horror setting Bayona placed it in, it did a great job freaking people out. I just would have liked more of it.
Stigymoloch was hilarious and the smashy boy made me laugh when he was yeeting rich arms dealers around the auction room XD
Whew, maybe I’ll do the humans in another post, because the characters were great in this one. Admittedly, the villains are predictable, (all villains these days are predictable) but the main characters had actual development to them without stifling the movie and I was legitimately surprised by Dr. Wu in this one. I did not expect him to take the route he did, and now I have to look at his character differently because he actually lived through the movie. We’ve heard that Jurassic World 3 won’t have hybrids, so I assumed Wu would be killed. Nope, our favorite dinosaur creator/mad scientist is still alive and kicking, and with a very interesting agenda that I never saw coming.
So props to you J.A Bayona and the creators of Fallen Kingdom—I was surprised, saddened, thrilled, scared, and amused. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think this was my favorite Jurassic sequel. I was worried this movie might really disappoint me the same way The Last Jedi did a few months back, but I am relieved to say that was far from the case. Kudos to you guys, I will definitely be seeing this again in the theater!

"JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM" (2018) Review
"JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM" (2018) Review Following the release of "JURASSIC PARK III" in 2001, I had figured that was it for the JURASSIC PARK movie franchise. Boy, was I proven wrong. Fourteen years after the release of that third film, Universal Pictures and producer Frank Marshall presented a fourth movie for the franchise, "JURASSIC WORLD" in 2015, that proved to be a major hit. Following the success of that film, it was only natural that a fifth movie would be made.
Set three years after the events of the 2015 movie, "JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM" began with the United States Senate debating over whether to save the dinosaurs on Isla Nublar from an impending volcanic eruption from the island's volcano Mt. Sibo. Mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm testifies that the dinosaurs should be allowed to die in order to correct John Hammond's mistake of cloning them. Meanwhile, Jurassic World's former operations manager, Claire Dearing, has established the Dinosaur Protection Group to save the animals. When the Senate decides not to rescue the dinosaurs, Hammond's former partner, Benjamin Lockwood, summons Claire to his Northern California estate, where he and his aide Eli Mills reveal a plan to relocate the dinosaurs to a new island sanctuary. They need Claire to help reactivate the park's dinosaur tracking system in order to locate the animals - especially Blue, the last surviving Velociraptor. Despite being estranged from him, Claire recruits Jurassic World's former Velociraptor trainer and Blue's alpha, Owen Grady, to help capture her. Accompanying them would be the park's former technician Franklin Webb and paleo-veterinarian Zia Rodriguez. Upon their arrival on Isla Nublar at the now defunct Jurassic World amusement part, Claire and Franklin work to reactivate the park's online tracking system. Meanwhile, Owe, Zia and a mercenary team led by Ken Wheatley search for Blue. When they find the velociraptor, one of Wheatley's men shoots Blue and Wheatley tranquilizes Owen. The mercenaries take Zia with them to treat Blue's injury. The mercenary ship, loaded with the captured dinosaurs, departs for the U.S. mainland, while the dinosaurs left behind die in the eruption. Meanwhile; Claire, Franklin, and Owen manage to escape the dying island and sneak aboard in time and assist Zia in transfusing Blue with Tyrannosaurus blood. The group now realizes that the captured dinosaurs were never being transported to a new island and have been captured for another purpose. And the latter has to do with a financial scheme being involving Eli Mills and Dr. Henry Wu, behind Lockwood's back. Despite earning over a billion dollars at the box office, "JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM" received very little positive reviews upon its release. In fact, it is regarded by some as a failure. Many critics and some film goers certainly regard it as inferior to the 2015 movie. How do I feel about "JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM"? I had a few problems with it. Well . . . to be perfectly honest, I had two major problems with it. My first problem centered around Benjamin Lockwood's estate serving as the setting for the film's second half. I found this rather limiting and claustrophobic. And I found myself wondering if the film's budget was responsible for this decision to limit the setting to a California country estate. The longer the film remained on that estate - especially inside that house - the more I became frustrated. And I have a second complaint about "JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM" - namely the fate of Benjamin Lockwood's granddaughter, Maisie. Why did Owen Grady and Claire Dearing end up as her guardians at the end of the movie? What happened to Maisie's nanny, Iris, who had been with the family for years? I do not recall her being killed by a dinosaur. So what happened to her? Why did she not take care of Maisie, following the death of the latter's grandfather? Despite my complaints, I enjoyed "JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM". In fact, I enjoyed it very much. Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow created a first-rate tale filled with tension, drama and especially comedy. I remember when the film first hit the theaters, many had complained about the movie's finale. They found it . . . illogical. Messy. I still find this complaint rather hard to swallow. The premise behind the JURASSIC PARK franchise can be considered illogical. Frankly, considering what happened in a period of twenty-five years and five movies, I thought it was only a matter of time that the franchise would reach this point. It almost did in 1997's "JURASSIC PARK: THE LOST WORLD". However, this film took it a step further with the release of several dinosaurs into the modern world. It was bound to happen. InGen and John Hammond had opened Pandora's Box a quarter of a century ago with the creation of dinosaurs, thousands of years after they naturally went extinct. I would almost equate the creations of these animals with that of nuclear energy and weaponry. Considering the occasional misuse and mishandling of nuclear energy throughout the years, I found it appropriate that a more disastrous scenario would finally befall in the JURASSIC PARK franchise than what happened in the previous films. "JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM" is also a popcorn summer film that depends upon a great deal of action. And it had its share of some first-rate action sequences. If I must be great, I enjoyed most of the action in the film's first half. I especially enjoyed the sequence featuring the natural destruction of Isla Nublar and Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and Franklin Webb's efforts to escape from the island after being abandoned by Ken Wheatley's team. For me, it was a breathtaking sequence as the trio raced to reach the boat conveying Wheatley's team and Zia Rodriguez (kidnapped and forced to treat the wounded Blue) to the United States. But there was an action sequence in the film's last hour that also impressed me. It featured the protagonists being hunted throughout the Lockwood mansion by Dr. Henry Wu's latest creation, the Indoraptor, a creation from the DNA of Indominus rex from the last film and Velociraptor - namely Blue. For me, those two sequences featured the best of some pretty damn good action scenes throughout the film. The movie did not feature as many breathtaking visual scenes as "JURASSIC WORLD". But there were a few that caught my eye, including scenes of those dinosaurs roaming the Earth:
But the one scene that produced a knot in my throat featured that last shot of Isla Nublar . . . and the death of the very brachiosaurus that Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and Malcolm Campbell first saw in 1993's "JURASSIC PARK". Director J.A. Bayona, cinematographer Óscar Faura and the visual effects team really knocked it out of the ballpark by capturing both the grandeur and the pathos of the scene:
If there is one thing I can guarantee from a JURASSIC PARK/WORLD movie, it is a first-rate cast featuring excellent performances. Jeff Goldblum returned to give a short, yet solid performance as Dr. Malcolm Campbell, one of the original visitors to Isla Nublar. "JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM" featured the acting debut of Isabella Sermon, who gave an excellent performance as the young Maisie Lockwood. Trust this franchise to always hire naturally talented child actors. Ted Levine's performance as mercenary Ken Wheatley struck me as a gleeful portrayal of toxic masculinity. B.D. Wong's return as Dr. Henry Wu was somewhat briefer than it was in the 2015 movie. Yet, once again, the actor conveyed the convoluted egoism of Dr. Wu with great skill. I hope he will have a bigger role in the next film. Toby Jones gave an entertaining, yet slightly theatrical performance as the weasely auctioneer hired by Eli Mills to help sell those dinosaurs taken from Isla Nublar to potential buyers. James Cromwell struck me as emotional, yet dignified as Hammond's former partner, Benjamin Lockwood. Geraldine Chaplin gave a skillful performance as the Lockwoods' reliable employee Iris. Daniella Pineda was brash and entertaining as the sharp-tongued Dr. Zia Rodriguez. Justice Smith proved to be equally entertaining and quite hilarious as anxiety-ridden systems analyst Franklin Webb. Rafe Spall skillfully portrayed one of the most subtle and corrupt villains in the franchise, Eli Morrow. Chris Pratt returned as former Navy SEAL-turned-dinosaur trainer Owen Grady. I realized that many might not agree, but I enjoyed Pratt's first-rate portrayal of the no-nonsense Grady more than I did in the 2015 movie. I thought Pratt's performance was more subtle and best of all, his Grady seemed to have dropped that sanctimonious I had found slightly irritating in the previous film. Bryce Dallas Howard managed to skillfully take her character, former operations manager of Jurassic World, to the next level. In "JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM", Claire's previous encounters with the dinosaurs had led her to develop an appreciation of them as sentient beings. This new Claire is a passionate animal rights activist who has dropped her arrogant disregard of the park's inhabitants. It is possible that this new passion may have slightly affected her common sense, especially during the film's last 10-15 minutes. But thanks to Howard's excellent performance, she managed to convey a sense of plausibility in the slight changes in Claire's personality. As I had earlier pointed out, the critics did not like "JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM". In fact, some moviegoers had expressed dismay at the film's ending. I had at least two quibbles with the movie. But if I must be frank, I enjoyed it very much. More importantly, I found its ending very believable for a science-fiction tale. For once, the franchise was willing to face a consequence that its previous films managed to elude so far. The movie featured first-rate direction by J.A. Bayona; a well-written screenplay by Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow; and an excellent cast led by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Good work guys!
