wartortle!!! my boy!!! his design slaps SO HARD and is honestly one of the best middle stage starters. everyday i weep for the scrapped og blastoise design that looked a lot more like him :(

i honestly cannot pick between typhlosion, scizor and ampharos… typhlosion is one of my favorite starters ever, i don’t really care about how he and the other gen 2 starters are under designed. i love my angry honey badger echidna freak <3

scizor is just like. peak character design to me. shes like scyther walked into hot topic and came out a girlboss. i love the underrated bug type and bugs in general and scizor really held the candle for the best bug type for a long time (for me atleast)

ampharos omgggg ampharos… honestly the entire mareep line is so cute to me!! i love how it goes from an unsheared sheep, to half sheared, and then to fully sheared. also ampharos has the “bean bag body type” pokemon design trope that i love, all pokemon with this body type (ex: goodra, dragonite, flygon ) are all so huggable and cute to me!! i NEED an ampharos irl NOW!!! 🤬🤬🤬 /pos

mudkip is one of the cutest starters EVER and choosing one in a gen 3 game is THE CORRECT CHOICE. i chose mudkip and i named her skipp and we quite literally single-handedly obliterated every single trainer battle, gym leader and the elite four + steven stone together. swampert has one of the best typings in the games ( water + ground ) so she only had ONE weakness and was IMMUNE to electricity 😭 poor wattson

she REALLY cemented my love for the entire mudkip line oaosufjfoighhh i love my mudfish salamander axolotl so much!

i will admit it took me like. a few days of playing ruby and looking at fanart to get used to marshtomp’s design but i can say with certainty that i love marshtomp as much as mudkip and swampert <3

i love bats so much and gliscor is not an exception. one of the best new evolutions design wise, and i just love the cheeky personality it radiates. i caught one in platinum and named it uzi after uzi from murder drones <3

it was the evolution gligar NEEDED and thank lord it got it because gliscor is amazing and i want one irl. also kinda unrelated but i was baffled when i learned that this mf is 6’07’’?? hello???

i have two favs... the rowlet line (mainly decidueye) and lurantis!! i'll talk about decidueye first

pokémon sun was actually the first pokémon game i've ever played!! i really wish i played the earlier games sooner but i was more of a pokémon anime kid growing up... sigh... atleast now i've been playing more games <3

anyways decidueye!! rowlet was actually my first ever starter! i loved the beach ball owl so much! i don't remember much about my first couple of playthroughs of sun (i dont think i ever got to evolve my starter beyond a dartrix) but ever since i got into pokémon again and absorbed so much info into my brain i've concluded that decidueye is actually amazing

i LOVE archers. i LOVE owls. i LOVE characters with hoods/cloaks/capes. i HAD to love decidueye. plus it's typing ( grass / ghost ) is actually so cool?? it's just such a well designed and well thought-out pokémon

lurantis omg lurantis... they could never make me hate you lurantis...

it's. literally. SO CUTE!! if a pokémon is cute enough to me i am GOING to like it automatically. additionally i love how it's based off of the real life orchid mantis!! irl orchid mantis' are basically pink mantis' that look like flowers, particularly orchids to hide themselves in plain view to ambush their prey. cool, right?

well, with lurantis, it's a pure grass type, not a bug type. the reason that is is because lurantis is actually a flower, particularly an orchid, that looks like a mantis, to fit in with other bug types since grass types are weak to bugs. i really love that!! i also just love lurantis' design in general🥺

galar:

even though gen 8 is my least favourite generation (i don't hate it, it's just that i love the others more) i do have a fav! while i do like pokémon such as dragapult, corviknight, frosmoth, grapploct, etc, centiskorch is 100% my favourite!! i love bugs in general and a fire centipede is honestly just super cool. it's design is awesome as heck and it's gigantamax form is one of my favourites, even though it just gets super long :3 also the name centiskorch is so cool

surprise surprise my fav hisui mon is hisuian typhlosion!! legends arceus really took one of my fav pokémon and made him stoned and girlypop huh /pop

again. with. the. amazing! fire/ghost! typing! it works SO well with typhlosion somehow. hisuian typhlosion's design didn't change much from johtonian typhlosion's but it still slaps SO HARD. the darker purple works so well with the fire collar pattern it has arounds its neck and i love how they gave him eyeshadow!! just an amazing mon all around <3

i've said this a lot already in regards to the others on this list but one of the biggest reasons i fell in love with ceruledge when i saw it for the first time is because of its design!! ghost/fire is such a cool typing (that skeledirge also has <3) and despite ceruledge and it's counterpart armarouge being more on the humanoid side, unlike other pokémon who are also in the same boat they don't look uncanny to me at all!! ceruledge is just so cool with its colour palette and the BLUE/PURPLE FLAME SWORDS?!!!??? HELLO!?? that it's difficult NOT to like it!! ily ceruledge

the contrast between tatsugiri and ceruledge is kinda funny

anyways i bloody adore this ONE FOOT TALL sushi fish so much. i love how in its stretchy form its glaring at me like it knows what i have done /hj

I see your thenamesh pkmn au and I raise you: Gilgamesh is actually a pokemon ranger! Rather than training and battling pokemon, he has a bond with them! He protects locals from enraged pokemon, he helps deal with ecological problems, he even arrests pokemon poachers. It's got all the bang for its buck of Gil being a protector and a fighter. They absolutely adore each other, Gil for Thena's absolute scary proficiency in battling and Thena for Gil's love and conservation of pokemon. >:D

"Gil!"

"Thena!" he waved, able to spot her from a mile away. He grunted as Dragonite started a descent maybe way, way too quick. "Whoa, buddy, I wanna see her too, but you've gotta slow down. Dragonite--Dragonite, please, pal, slow down! Slow-!"

Thena laughed as Dragonite swooped in, picking her up in its arms and hugging her gleefully. She liked to act like she was annoyed by it, but she never put up much of a fight when it happened. "Hi, Dragonite, I missed you too."

"Buddy, you're killin' me back here."

"Gil!" Thena gasped as he, letting go of the safety harness between Dragonite's wings, slid down the curve of his tail and dropped to the ground. She kicked her legs to be let down, crouching beside him. "Are you okay?"

He picked himself up, fixing his hat and then letting out the straps of his backpack, setting it beside him. "It was quite a morning."

Thena took a seat next to him on the cliff overlooking the valley tucked between mountain peaks. "Poachers?"

"Yes and no," Gil frowned, pulling out some supplies from his bag. "We seem to have cleared them from the area, but there are still a lot of repercussions we're seeing. Tauros are displaced, there are wild Hydreigon fighting with Tyranitar in the caves. They really did a number on the ecosystems."

Thena sighed. She had heard all about the poachers from Gil, as well as some of the other rangers stationed in the area. She had even joined him on a few missions to arrest them. But he was right, the wild pokemon population wasn't going to recover in a day.

"That's how I found this little guy," Gil announced, pulling open his pack and unveiling a large head with even larger ears. "Come on out, bud, it's okay."

"Teddi?"

"This is my friend Thena," Gil smiled, fishing the young Teddiursa out of his pack and holding the little guy in his hands. "We found him among the rubble of a landslide. Probably got separated from the rest of the pack after that huge Rhydon battle in the north caverns."

"Poor thing," Thena frowned. She tilted her head at the little bear pokemon. It tilted its head right back at her, toddling its way over to her. She watched it carefully, until it leaned against her arm, latching on with a fierceness. "Hello."

"Ursa?" it looked up at her, eyes all wide.

She used her other hand to ruffle the fur between its ears. She looked up at Gil, who had the same sappy look on his face he always got when he was rescuing a pokemon. "Looks like you when you first hatched Dragonite."

"He likes you," Gil beamed, utterly enchanted to see the little bear clinging to Thena. It was a marked improvement from trembling in fear inside his backpack all morning. He pulled open one of the bottles filled with vitamins, "come on, little guy."

The young pokemon turned its face further into Thena's arm, burying its cold, wet nose against her.

Gil sighed. This had been the struggle earlier too, "buddy, it's good for you. You have to eat."

"Teddiursa!"

Thena let out a faint laugh. It was so cute to watch Gil argue with a literal baby. But this was what made him such a great ranger--his ability to work that charm he had with everyone, from people to pokemon; from a baby Teddiursa to the biggest, meanest Salamence. "Come on, maybe he'll eat inside."

"Dragonite," Gil stood, "will you go back to base camp and tell the others I'm working on the Teddiursa situation?"

The orange dragon saluted his paw(?) to his head and nodded. He waved at Thena before taking off again.

Gil followed Thena back to her cozy little house she had on the cliffside. "I really don't know who he thinks hatched him, me or you."

"It was a joint effort," Thena laughed. Really, it had been Gil who had taken such amazing care of the egg. Thena had been there when the Dratini hatched, but it was undoubtedly Gil to whom the dragon was bonded immediately.

Gil sighed as soon as he stepped into the cabin home. It smelled like Thena--and a few of her pokemon, of course. "Hey, guys!"

"Everyone, this is Teddiursa," Thena introduced properly, speaking softly with the little bear held in her arms. It looked around the room nervously before burying its face against her again. "Gil rescued him just this morning, so he's a bit nervous."

"Gallade?"

"I don't know," Thena looked up at her battle partner. He stood off the couch, leaning over her shoulder to look at the little bundle of fur. "As long as he needs to."

Ninetales sniffed over to them, letting its psychic energy draw what conclusions it needed.

"There's my girl," Gil greeted the fox pokemon with a bright smile. She bounded over to him, happily letting him run his hands over her fur. He had rescued her back as a vulpix. It had been the fire type's desire to battle that made her such a good match for Thena, he'd found as he'd nursed her back to health. "Your fur's so shiny! Someone's been using the zinc supplements I recommended."

Thena rolled her eyes at them. "Yes, I continue to spoil her by your recommendation, against my better judgement."

Gil snorted at that. As if Thena didn't take the best care of her pokemon he'd ever seen in a pro trainer. She could easily be part of the league, maybe even Champion class. But she kept insisting she had no desire to be confined to the plateau day in and day out as an Elite 4 or the like. And being free to roam Victory Road did suit her more.

"Froslass?"

"Hello again," Gil greeted the newest to Thena's team, taking off his hat for the lady. She had actually kidnapped him into an ice cave, thinking his soul was ripe for the plucking when she found him.

It was Thena who had come to his rescue, fighting Froslass off with Ninetales. It had been so impressed with her that it had excitedly asked to join her team, although Thena made a point of telling her that she would no longer be bringing 'handsome men' off the mountain with her.

"Froslass," Thena turned to her ghost with a stern voice. She was entirely aware of the phantom's fondness for Gil. "Leave him be."

"Ah, she's okay," Gil waved off, enjoying the bright smile he got from the ice/ghost in return. He had always thought a ghost type would suit Thena, it was just a question of which one. And she and Froslass both had a certain pretty quality to them.

"Come on," Thena said softly, the little bear still trembling in her arms. She reached into the cupboard, pulling out a basket of berries. She turned, "is this okay for him to eat?"

"Oran should be fine," Gil advised, walking right over to her, leaning against the counter and touching a hand to her back. "I didn't want to give him anything sweeter than a sitrus in case he'd been gorging on them in the woods."

"That's true," Thena murmured. She shifted Teddiursa against her, pushing one of the supplements into the core of the berry. It reached out its paws, claws extending for the fruit. She drew it back, "ah! Medicine and all."

It pouted at her, "teddi..."

"Medicine," she pressed, holding the oran as tightly as a pokeball. "Or no berry."

The little bear huffed, but nodded. Its face brightened instantaneously as soon as the oran berry was in its paws. "Teddiursa!"

Thena smiled as the little thing gobbled up the berry, vitamin mix included. "He is kind of sweet."

"Ace trainer Thena, all soft eyed over a cute pokemon?" Gil chuckled, bumping his hip against hers ever so gently. "Never thought I'd see the day."

Thena just rolled her eyes at him, watching the little pokemon stuff its face. She reached up, brushing some stray crumbs out of the fur of its muzzle.

Gil was looking at Thena.

Gallade was looking at both of them, thoroughly unimpressed. But he was used to this with his trainer, thickheaded as she was. If it wasn't a pokemon battle, she wasn't going to understand it any time soon. "Lade."

"Nine," his comrade shared in his plight, settling herself on her bed by the fireplace.

"Hey," Gil said softly, now that Teddiursa was done with his meal. "I should go."

"Okay," Thena nodded, trying not to look too disappointed to learn he had to return to duty. She had almost forgotten it in the quiet moment of them in her kitchen. She looked up, just now realising how close they had gotten while watching over his rescue. She looked down again, hoping her elevated heart rate wouldn't startle the little cub.

"Teddi?"

"Come on, buddy," Gil extended his arms, ready for it to be transferred from Thena's arms to his. "Let's get you back to the ranger centre."

"Teddi!"

They both blinked at the little bear, crossing his paws indignantly. Thena looked at Gil. He shook his head. "Come on, pal, there's a pokemon centre--we'll get you all healed up."

"Teddi!"

"Sweetheart," Thena joined in with a stern tone, trying to physically deposit the cub into Gil's hands. It clung to her forearm. "Don't you want to see the rest of your pack? The Chansey and Audino will heal you and then you can go be in the wild. Won't that be fun?"

"Teddiursa!" it protested loudly, clinging to Thena with all its little might. Gil let go of its belly and it curled its legs around her wrist as well.

Thena looked at the bear, attached to her arm like a Komala to its birth tree. She turned to Gil, holding out a hand.

"Uh," Gil put his hat back on, eyeing the distressed pokemon with a chuckle. "I'm gonna be honest, we usually try not to force it, in situations like these."

"What do you mean, situations like these?!" Thena whispered/hissed as Teddiursa began inching up her arm like a tree branch. "You encounter this often?"

He laughed, which Thena visibly didn't appreciate. But it was so cute! "Well, no, but come on. The little guy just misses his mom, and you were the one to feed him."

"You were the one who carried him around all morning," she protested. Although, like with Dragonite, she didn't exactly force the little bear away from her either.

"And clearly it didn't bond to me at all," Gil shrugged. Part of being a ranger was knowing which battles could be 'won' and which needed a different approach. "Look, I'll check in tonight again, okay? If he hasn't detached by then, you might just...have a new pokemon."

Thena sighed, although she had to admit, she couldn't bear the thought of trying to rip the little cub off her arm anymore than Gil - with his big, soft heart - could. She looked at it, and, as if sensing her gaze, it looked back at her.

"Teddi?" His eyes were big as saucers, glassy and pleading not to be taken away.

Thena sighed. She looked at Gallade, sitting on the couch and watching tv. "What do you think?"

"Gal-Gallade," it waved its hand at her. If the cub was that attached to her, why upset it? He wasn't going to have a problem with it, nor would Ninetales.

"Froslass!" the ghost pokemon materialised just to smile down at the little cub, who laughed as she disappeared again.

Thena withered. Even her antisocial ghost was onboard. She looked down at the cub. "Fine, you can stay. But this behaviour is not going to be sticking around. Do you understand that?"

"Teddiursa!" The little bear lifted its paws in celebration, only to latch onto her neck in a full embrace.

Thena sighed, letting it rub its fur against her cheek. "I suppose I have a Teddiursa now?"

Gil snapped a quick pic. "That's so cute."

"Gil!"

"Okay," he waved, settling his bag on his back again, "I'll see you tonight!"

Teddiursa waved, happily clinging to Thena's shoulder as Gil closed the door behind him.

It really captures each Pokemon’s personality well, from Cinderace carrying his little bro Sobble to Dragonite lightly pushing Lucario in like a parent and their embarrassed child. Fafrfetch’d still needs more appearances tho.

3. I just LOVE that Dragonite continuously holds onto Ash before the contest starts. It’s things like this that make me headcanon that Dragonite has broken into Ash and Goh’s room a couple of times to take Ash to the garden and cuddle him like a teddy bear just so he can sleep better.

4. Throughout the episode, I love the fact that we get to see more of Chrysa’s personality outside the lab. Now let’s hope the other assistants can some actual development, because honestly speaking, they’re overall the most uninteresting and dull reoccurring characters the entire anime has had so far. (and considering how long we’ve had the anime, that is saying something)

5. Lucario and Cinderace sleeping next to each other? Adorable. Hey, Ash and Goh, perhaps you two should take this as a sign and give some attention to your other mons. I mean, please?

6. And now Dragonite is licking Ash like a doggo. I hear-by grant Dragonite the honorable nickname of Draggo.

7. Gonna be honest, I kinda forgot that TR’s Morpeko friend even existed. Nice for it to get some development/screen time as well though.

8. It’s pretty awesome seeing a bunch of old faces again, like Hydreigon and Blaziken. Many even spark with personality too! Great touches.

9. I’m so glad Chloe became interested in the competition right after disregarding the whole event, as it’s a very welcomed step-up from her usual unlikeable ‘I’m-too-good-for-everything’ attitude. Now let’s hope the writers continue to development her.

10. Honestly, if you enter an eating competition with a small, simple Pokemon while knowing mons like Snorlax will be competing, you deserve a big fat L. Sorry kiddos.

11. Plump draggo is best draggo. And since Ash is eliminated, looks like this is going to be another Goh’s Gets Another W Episode. Y’know, right after standing up to Mewtwo.... and capturing Eternatus..... and defeating Oleana..... and easily handling a Zapdos..... and catching a powerful Flygon.... and scoring a free Hitmonchan.... (sighs in frustration that can only be cured by draggo hugs)

12. My friends of Team Rocket, if you somehow got your hands on cookies that instantly inflate your belly and fill up your hunger, why not just eat them yourself if you’re so hungry?

And that’s the episode. A filler episode leading onto another filler episode, judging by the preview for the next one, but that’s totally fine. I honestly feel many people sometimes underestimate the pros of filler, whether it be for Pokemon or any other anime series. Yes, it doesn’t help move the plot, but filler can be good ways for characters to have fun, showcase comical moments, and make the world feel alive. While this episode had its share of funny moments and charming character interactions, the plot was kinda too predictable, but eh, it’s only filler so it’s no big deal.

I’d give this episode a 6.5/10. Funny and cute, but not really anything else.

Hiccup/Hiro/Varian OT3 Pokemon Headcanons

Okay, so. I’m working on the next chapter of Chemistry in Motion, but it’s taking a bit longer than I thought it would. Mainly becasue we’re at a section of the movie I haven’t thought about much. So, I thought I’d have a little fun and give you guys something else to chew on. 

I assure you, I’m working on the chapter in tandem to this - 

Pokemon Sword and Shield’s expansion, Isle of Armor, released recently.  So let’s have some pokemon headcanons with my newly-discovered OT3. I went kinda ham with this one so have a read more line.  

Let’s talk about the bois’ home regions

 Corona, I feel, is a lot like Kalos or Galar. Its power is primarily centered around a royal family, but a league was created that came to power. Eventually, though, the royal family and the league came to work together of sorts. Though, the king being the Champion helps that. It kind of blends Corona and the Dark Kingdom.

Berk and the archipelago aren’t necessarily a region. They don’t have a league, or a gym system. Sort of like Alola. However, they just live in tandom with pokemon, especially dragon, steel, and ice types, without any sort of training challenges. They just look out for their own. 

I’m borrowing the name “Yuushima” from my People Like Us oneshot for Hiro’s home region. It’s a more standard fare region. Your usual Leauge, Elite 4, Gyms. No royal power like Corona - the professor and League are the major powers. 

Varian is the son of Quirin, ground-type specialist and one of the region of Corona’s elite four, and Ulla, a prominent researcher who disappeared while she was exploring the regions to further her research in hopes of becoming a Professor.

Hiccup is the son of Berk’s chief. One of the many communities in his archipeligo. He wants to become an expert breeder and caretaker, and loves his dragon types so very much. 

Hiro is from a fairly average family. The main thing being that his brother, Tadashi, is the assistant to Professor Granville - Yuushima’s leading pokemon professor who took over for Professor Callaghan after he retired. He, himself, loves researching pokemon. However, battling is certainly more his forte. He has a talent for it, and wants to become a gym leader or even champion some day.

Okay, so what are their teams like?

Varian’s team consists of: A Zigzagoon, Shinx, Growlithe, Absol, Cubone, and Bannette.

Shinx and Growlithe are his lab assistants. When he’s tinkering with inventions or chemicals, you can expect Shinx to provide electricity or Growlithe to be heating the chemicals. Zigzagoon is something of a loyal pet and friend. Cubone was his first pokemon, a gift from Quirin (and yes, considering his mother when missing when he was young and what happens to Quirin in canon I’m well aware of the irony. it’s intentional. I regret nothing). 

Absol and Bannette are misunderstood babeys that Varian loves. Probably part of the reason he’s so misunderstood himself in Old Corona before his travels with Rapunzel and her friends. (also bannette is a vengeful spirit that tied itself to an abandoned doll so like - paralels?) 

Hiccup’s team consists of: A Goodra, Noivyrn, Flygon, Altaria, Flapple, and a Dragonite. Yes, they’re all dragon types. What did you expect? I considered a steel or ice type for balance’s sake, but let’s face it. This boi loves dragons. 

Goodra was his first pokemon. He found it injured as a Goomy and started caring for it. They became fst friends. Flygon was abandoned as a Trapinch by some senseless viking who didn’t know what it evolved into. Hiccup took it in and raised it well. 

Many of the others were hatched from eggs he found, or ones he got from other breeders just as they’d hatched. 

Hiro’s team consists of: A Magneton, Alolan Raichu, Klinklang, Rotom, Bisharp, and Glavantula

Magneton is his partner pokemon. He’s had it since it was a magnemite, and it’s been with him for many an underground pokemon battle (which Tadashi hates that he does, by the way).  He found Bisharp in one of those battles. Won him away from a trainer that was... unpleasant, to say the least.

He didn’t realize he had an Alolan Pikachu until he evolved it! It was a pretty wild realization. He just kind of found it and took it in. 

Klinklang, Magneton, and Galvantula are his lab buddies whenever he’s up to scientific shenanigans. He works pretty closely with them in a lot of his magnetism and robotics experiments. 

So how do they meet?

Through Varian! After traveling with Rapunzel and her gang, he decides to go on an adventure of his own through the kingdoms, hoping to further his knowledge of pokemon. His goal is to learn more about his missing mother’s research, and has plans to become a pokemon professor one day.

He travels to different regions to study the relationship of the people and pokemon of those regions and how they differ. In the process he meets these two and they go off on a cross-region adventure together. 

He comes across Yuushima first. Meets Hiro, the scrappy boy who loves pokemon battles and electric-types. Sees how his pokemon help him in his lab, and their similarities cause a quick friendship between the two of them. Before aunt Cass and Tadashi realize it, Hiro’s hugging them goodbye and heading off on a journey

They catch a ride on a ferry and at some point in their journey wind up realizing they’re low on supplies. They stop at the first place available - Berk. It does wonders for Varian’s research - a place that doesn’t rely on the league or a system of battling to dictate their relationship with pokemon. They meet the chief’s son, Hiccup, and again form a fast friendship. So Hiccup joins them on their journey. 

Cue a trio of sixteen-to-eighteen year-old boys on a roadtrip across the many regions of the world researching pokemon, and getting a few good battles in along the way for Hiro. 

Have a few other ideas

So Hiro and his team love pokemon battles, and are always willing to pick fights! They’re usually the ones dealing with any pokemon thieves or the like. Hiccup’s not against pokemon battling if push comes to shove. With a team full of dragons, he can handle himself. Varian battles the least. He prefers to just enjoy time with his pokemon. 

Hiro’s pokemon are generally fine travelling in their pokeballs. Hiccup’s Goodra is outside of its pokeball a lot, but most of his others are pretty chill. NONE OF VARIAN’S POKEMON WILL STAY PUT. They either break out of their pokeballs on a whim, or just refuse to stay in their pokeballs at all. 

Specifically, Zigzagoon is always out and about on Varian’s shoulders or scurrying between his feet. Bannette refuses to stay in its pokeball and Varian has to carry it to keep it satiated. Cubone has a habit of breaking out of its ball from time to time when it’s lonely. Absol is INCREDIBLY protective and will bust out of his pokeball on a whim to make sure no one’s trying to hurt Varian. His pokemon just don’t like pokeballs. 

Hiro joked at one point that Varian carrying around Bannette is kind of spooky, and reminds him of horror movies. He talks about how it’s like some ghost kidd and his possessed pokedoll or something. So naturally Varian loves to tell ghost stories about times Bannette has spooked him in the lab. 

Hiccup does not like said stories. Like, at all. He jumps and reacts every time and it makes Varian and Hiro keel over with laughter. Then soothe him saying it was only bannette and it’s okay. 

Hiro and Rotom DO NOT HELP Hiccup’s ghost spooks. Like. At all. There are two ghost types on this team and Hiccup has had it up to here with their mischief. Because oh boy, to his boyfriends constantly play spooky pranks (good-natured, but still) on him with their ghost types.

They all love cuddling Goodra though. He’s soft and sweet, and a bit mischievous but still. He’s just so huggable, they can’t help it. They have fallen asleep just snuggled around Goodra before.

After being annoyed by how much of an asshole Blue can be, having the opportunity to go challenge him without sounding dramatic or out of control is very welcomed.

He makes sure to look through the windows and confirm Blue is there before entering, exhibiting a large grin he always displays right before a good battle.

His Dragonite skips her step to rush forward before him and hug the gym leader before Ethan can come say anything.

"Hey there. I'm ready to kick your ass for a second time." He may be skipping work but that's a secret. "Do I still need to go through the whole gym mechanics?"

Guy who might cheat and fly above it all if the answer is yes.

Almost! But more like an imperative than a inquisitive or whatever the words were. But totally not wrong, in the same vein.

"Trust me." Said with all the gentleness and confidence of an experienced trainer, of someone who knows what they're doing. Someone who loves you and would never let harm befall you. Who only wants to let you experience more, and step out of your shell. It's obvious when you say to him that you haven't flown before, the wringing of your hands and how you look shyly away, that you do want to learn, that you do want to experience it, but that your fear stops you before you even try. He knows your determination and drive, but he can see that you might need some training wheels before you can fly comfortably on your own. ...let alone, have flights together.

It's such a strong, reassuring grip when you take hold of his hand as he helps you onto his Pokemon. You almost forget your fear as you settle in, feeling safe with him. But it all rushes back as his fingers slip away, and now it's just you, and his Pokemon beneath you.

Trembling, and trying not to look visibly shaken, you curl your hands into fists and gently place them against its back. It's hard to find someplace to hold onto, and you don't need to look towards him with a helpless look for him to help. He can see it immediately with your frantic searching. "You can hold onto it anywhere, but it might help to open your hands a little bit," he says gently, encouragingly.

Once you find yourself feeling somewhat steady in your seat, he tells his Pokemon to rise slowly in the air. The gusts of wind from its beating wings surprise and startle you. Fear seeps in once you begin to feel the ground fall away from you. Instinctively, you flatten and hug yourself against his Pokemon's back, terrified and somehow much more visibly rattled than before.

"That's too high. Let's come back down a bit. Just a foot above the ground, okay?" he tells his Pokemon. While the ground is now much closer than it was before, it still feels terrifying.

"Do you want to get off, y/n?" Half of you is eager to say yes and give up immediately, but the more determined, stubborn side of you refuses to quit right away.

You shake your head. "Alright then. Let's try flying at this height for now. Is that okay with you?" You nod. You're still feeling that flash of adrenaline, that fear to escape the situation, but it's slowly starting to go away, now that you're back at a height that you can comfortably step off from.

You're so focused on your thoughts and fighting your fears, that you haven't realized he's slowly placed one of his hands in yours, until you feel a strong squeeze. The sudden sensation jolts you at first. But when you look over, you see him giving you a reassuring smile.

"You've got this. I know you can do this, with time."

You try to smile back, feeling some relief as he's holding onto you.

He holds your hand, walking alongside you two for the rest of that 'flight training' session, his hand linked to yours, much like the training wheels on a bike. Every so often, his Pokemon flies a little bit higher. But whenever your hands start to slip apart for too long, he's right there to grab it again.

An electrifying love story: book 1, chapter 1

This story can be found on my wattpad, Fluffyminccino. I decided to post this on tumblr as well! I hope you enjoy!

Now, before I get into the story, let me tell you how this story came to mind..

It came around the XY series ended, and I was playing Black 2 around that time. My fascination with water type Pokemon made me create an OC named Sierra. Get it? Sea.. Era? :D (I'm not funny.) anyway, I made her the soon to be water type gym leader of Humilau City. Marlon, the CURRENT :D (still not funny) gym leader of the city's cousin. She was born in the Simon region, after the divorce of her mother and father, and after her mother fell ill, they moved to the Unova region. Months later, her mother passed away. And she went to live with her cousin. During this time, she fell into Team Plasma, and eventually became their admin, doing whatever Ghetsis commanded her to do. They fooled her and used her for their selfish purposes. Like befriending Ash and company then betraying them trying to take Iris's Axew. Ghetsis brainwashed her, making her think they were doing good. If you all would like me to keep posting my chapters as I keep writing, let me know! :D enjoy!

Chapter 1: the admin's fall

Hovering over the Unova region was Team Plasma's Air fortress, our heroes, Ash, Iris, and Cilan stood against most of Team Plasma's goons. Every single one of them were about to get their pokeballs ready, but a voice stopped them. "Stop!"

Team Plasmas admin, Sierra. To Ash, she looked completely different before she betrayed them. All innocent and nice, sweet and loyal. But now? She was a completely different person in her team plasma uniform. Here she is, hand girl to Ghetsis.

"You, need to leave." She said coldly.

"Why are you doing this?!" Ash yelled.

She lifted her head to face them, getting a pokeball ready. “Don’t you see? We are trying to make Unova a better place. Face it.. without us, Pokemon everywhere will be abused and treated like servants for the rest of their lives, and I’m not going to let it happen.”

Don’t YOU see that Team Plasma is using you? They’ve mess with your head, Sierra! Trust me, Team Plasma is not what you think it is, they don’t care about y-“

Sierra stomped her foot with her long, high heeled boots. “Enough of this. You can’t change my mind.” She threw one of her pokeballs. “Go! Vaporeon!”

The water type Pokemon came out, it growled at the group and barked at them.

“Use Hydro pump.”

“Poooooooooooreon!” It released a hush of water from its mouth.

Ash counterattacked. “Dodge it, Pikachu! Use thunderbolt!”

“Piiiiiiika.. chuuuuu!!”

Vaporeon was zapped by thunderbolt and fried to a crisp. Sierra sighed and withdrew Vaporeon to its ball. “Thank you Vaporeon..” She was about to reach and grab another ball, but before she could, they were all interrupted by a voice. “I’m just getting-“

“-That’s enough, Sierra. No more battling.” A voice said from upstairs in the shadows. It was Team Plasma’s feared leader, Ghetsis.

“S-sir!” She saluted.

He walked down the stairs. “The next step of our plan is about to into action, Sierra. Reshiram will finally be ours, and I do not need you causing a scene with these intruders. You wouldn’t want me giving your position as admin to someone else, would you?”

“Sir, no sir!” She stood at attention.

He chuckled. “Good. Now.. take these intuders and throw them out of here. I don’t want our plan of world domination to be disrupted.”

“Yes s-“ Sierra was about to take his orders but she stopped. “Wait.. world.. domination..? But I- I- thought.. that we were saving Pokemon from abuse, and-“

“Oh my little admin, it’s about time that I told you the cold hard truth. Those Pokemon we took away, weren’t being abused.”

“What?!” She exclaimed in shock. “Then why were we taking them from so many people?!”

Ghetsis let out a cold chuckle again. “Why.. we were using them for our team, our Pokemon army of course. Did you really think we, of Team Plasma, were doing good? All we want is to rule the world. Not anything else. Do you understand?”

Then it finally hit Sierra. Everything she’s been doing.. all those Pokemon she “saved” was nothing but an evil scheme to rule the world. She took those Pokemon from so many innocent people who loved them.. they weren’t helping Pokemon who were in trouble.. she felt ashamed. The team she knew, the people she trusted, were nothing but traitors. In anger, she threw her plasma mask off.

“What are you doing?” Ghetsis asked.

She stood by the exit, opening the door. “You all.. lied to me. I thought you all were doing good.. and were my friends and allies.. but I couldn’t have been more wrong. You have betrayed me, and are nothing to me!!”

Ash and friends stood there shocked at the scene.

“Ash, should we-“

Ash shook his head. “No Cilan. She deserves to know the truth. She was blinded by her leader’s lies.”

“What are you saying, Sierra?”

“I’m saying.. that I quit. I quit Team Plasma. Nothing I’ve done up to this point matters anymore..” she ran to the case full of stolen pokeballs. “Ash..”

Ash looked at her. “Y-Yeah?”

“I’m.. I’m sorry. To all of you. I should’ve listened to you, and I should’ve never betrayed you. What I’ve done was unforgivable.. I regret all of the lies I told you. My only favor I could ask you is to return these Pokemon to their owners.. please.”

Ash stood there motionless, nodding his head. “I will. And.. I-I’m sorry, Sierra-“

“Please, don’t apologize.. I have to go.”

And with that, she jumped out of the side of the air fortress, which was flying over Undella Bay.

“SIERRA!!” Ash, Iris, and Cilan screamed. All they heard was a splash in the distance. She was gone.

“Well well well.. looks like she bailed after all.” Ghetsis said, arms crossed. “She was just about useless to me anyway..”

“You’re going to pay for what you’ve done!” Iris yelled.

“She could be dead, your admin! She was loyal to you! And you don’t care?!”

He laughed. “Child, I couldn’t care less. She may have been loyal, but she was truly nothing but a pawn. I knew she was too naive to figure out what exactly we were doing. So.. it’s her loss. And it cost her her life, a foolish decision if you ask me.”

“How could you say that?!” Cilan protested.

Ash stopped them. Just stop, guys.. what’s done is done. Let’s just take everyone’s pokeballs and leave. Returning them was her favor after all..”

“Yeah..”

“You’re right..”

Ash ran after the case and grabbed it. “Charizard!!”

“Dragonite!!”

The two dragons flew over to the entrance from outside and let their trainers hop onto them. And with the case full of stolen pokeballs, they escaped before Ghetsis could attack.

“NO! come back with those pokeballs, you brats!”

A grunt walked up to him and out a hand on his shoulder. “Sir.. what do we do now?”

“Now?” He chuckled. “The plan doesn’t change. Keep our course straight for the giant chasm. Our plans to capture Reshiram and Kyurem have not changed! We Team Plasma.. will rule the world..!”

While they were flying overhead of Unova’s seas, they were silent. Trying to see if they could spot Sierra floating above water. But they didn’t. They mourned at the fact that Sierra didn’t make it.

Ash cut Cilan off. “I.. I don’t know.. she didn’t deserve this, any of it.”

But meanwhile..

*COUGH COUGH HACK* Sierra dragged herself up, she had been dragged out of the Undella Bay by an unknown force. “Wh-What.. what happened..?” She tried to gain her vision back. “How did I.. end up here..?”

She looked around and soon after giving up, she saw a Dewgong coming up from the shore towards her, carrying berries in its mouth.

“Dewgong! Dew gong gong!” It chirped happily, happy that she was awake.

She was confused as she pet it on the head. “Did you.. rescue me?”

Dewgong nodded its head, then handed her some berries for her to eat. She took them and ate some.

“These are delicious! Thank you so much.. I can’t thank you enough for saving me..”

The sea lion Pokemon was happy to hear her kind words. It jumped on top of her and started licking her face affectionately.

“Hahahahahahaha!!” She giggled. “H-hey! St-stop that! Hahaha- That tickles!”

Dewgong smiled at her. Backing away, it gave her more berries to eat.

“You’re too kind, Dewgong..”

After she finished, she stood up and looked all around her. Undella town was just behind her.

“Undella town.. I’d better get out of here, and fast.. I don’t want Officer Jenny finding me in my uniform..”

She pet Dewgong and they said their goodbyes. She made it out of the town and she ran all the way back to her home in Humilau city. Once she found her house, she found her cousin Marlon sitting in the chair with his arms crossed.

"Sierra.."

“Marlon-! Oh.. you.. you know about everything..”

“Yeah. I know.. but it doesn’t mean I love you any less, cousin.. listen, Officer Jenny spotted you on the way here and she’s coming. She called me. You have to leave if you don’t want to go to jail. She knows you’re a part of Team Plasma.”

“Oh my god.. b-but Marlon..”

“I’m sorry, cousin..” He pulled her into a hug, then handed her a plane ticket. “Take this, hurry and leave before she catches you.. call me once you get there-“

“Marlon!”

He stopped her from protesting. “Sierra, I know this whole mess with Team Plasma wasn’t your fault, you were blinded by trying to stop other’s mistakes. But Team Plasma still committed crimes. The police are coming, call me once you get there, okay?”

She started to cry. Her tears soaked her already soaked uniform. She tried to convince him to let her stay, but it was too dangerous. He hugged her tight, and told her to run. And that’s exactly what she did. And she never looked back.

Sierra was an outlaw in the Unova region.

While running, she did her best to cover up the logo on her uniform while trying to make herself look halfway decent. But then, she noticed, a pokeball was in her pocket. She had forgotten to put one back.. but she was going to worry about that when she left. For now, she had to go. She arrived at the airport and handed them her ticket.

i was at northeast trek con this weekend, if you couldn’t deduce it from my posts that must have sounded like they were coming from some sort of hallucinatory trip. to say i had fun would be a wild understatement. if you slot this con on an alignment chart, it would be wall-to-wall chaotic good. the theme advertised was celebrating the 25th anniversary of ds9... and boy did we celebrate.

what follows is everything i feverishly tweeted about the wildest 72 hours of my life.

the only reason i went to this con at all was @thylekshran, who wanted to see one mr. jeffwey combs very badly. @jadziadax happened to say to me one night, “hey you should go to this con happening where you live to see nicole,” and i said, “wait a minute, isn’t this the con dylan wants to go to? what if i actually Did go to this?”

friday: i grabbed dylan, somehow, from the bus stop that i think didn’t quite exist on this plane. we get to the con and we walk into the exhibit hall. nicole is right by the door and i cannot look at her, so we beeline for vendor tables, and suddenly before me is an extremely familiar spread of colorful images. it takes me a minute to process it, and then i’m pointing to this table and rushing toward it going, “OH MY GOD. IT’S HER! FROM TUMBLR! OH MY GOD WHAT.” it was none other than @abravenoise selling prints!!!! i had no idea she would be there since i didn’t look at anything before i left the house. just fyi she is irl just about the nicest person i’ve ever met!!!!!! and i’m so glad we got to hang out as much as we did!

we spent the day mostly going to panels and being big baby chickens regarding jeff’s and nicole’s tables, respectively. we did end up at jg hertzler’s table A Lot, because dylan, like, is recognized?? by him and his wife??? idk dylan’s just out here charming the pants off everybody, so i was like, okay cool, this is the first thing that is Totally Fine, just chilling with martok. we also met two cool dudes through jg who really enjoyed hanging out with us, and that was great! making friends all over the place! not the first and not the last!

one thing dylan and i were bummed about was that the klingon meet & greet party that night (where jg and robert o’reilly would get in costume as martok and gowron and duel to the death) was sold out. we really really really wanted to go... so dylan just... straight up asks jg if he can get us in dhfklshdfd. and you know what? he fucking does. just... put our names right on that list! O K A Y!

the friday panels were a sign of what would be to come, every one we went to was crazy. this was my first real trek con, so of course i have never seen hertzler and o’reilly in a room together, but now i have and my third eye is open and all that. not to mention: learning that garrett wang plays pokemon go, nicole cracking up at poop jokes like i said, hertzler doodling a little shran with glasses on jeff’s sign, the con’s power point file just being named DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. everything that was happening was so good.

chase masterson had a panel about her pop culture hero coalition, and currently working for a non-profit myself, i was really curious about what kinds of programming they do, so i went to her table to talk to her about it. chase ended up talking some about the why’s of starting the coalition, what it meant to her, her own struggles with depression, and i’m thinking to myself, “uhhhhhh well if chase is gonna share about her mental health struggles, then... i... will also do this.” the nanosecond i said something about experiencing difficulty with self-love, she was zeroed in on me like a cruise missile. i spilled everything to her about my job and how my old boss was basically the meanest, most miserable person alive, and how much she got into my head and how now that i was out of that department, i had to pick up the pieces and it was proving to be much harder than it has been in the past. well, god almighty, chase just had the nicest things to say in return, and we commiserated over being your own worst critic, and how ridiculously hard it is to have this fight against yourself over and over again, but that we deserve so much and going forward is worth it. jesus christ! i got a big hug and said to myself, “holy shit i can’t wait to tell my therapist that a star trek actor talked to me about mindfulness and now i want to learn the hell out of it.”

oh but then it was time for the klingon party that we were now going to thanks to jg hertzler. this thing was off the chain immediately, martok and gowron had their duel, first with sparkling bat’leths that fell apart, and then with whole baguettes, and i can’t believe i got to watch this with my eye parts. and that was the beginning; the party would go for another 3 hours, almost all of which i spent dancing with the most generous people i’ve ever met, who went out of their way to welcome everyone they could onto the dance floor, regardless of physical ability or skill level. there was one woman in particular who, if she saw even the slightest twinkle in your eye and you weren’t already dancing with her, she’d be like, “you, get over here!” i don’t know how my body did that for all that time without falling apart.

our esteemed guests began showing up, and garrett wang leapt into the middle of our jump around circle and gave each one of us a vulcan high five. jeffrey combs showed up which of course sent dylan over the moon, and he said, “you go, girl!” to her dancing. max grodenchik gave dylan one of his drink tickets and then asked us whether or not we thought the existence of god could be proven. chase found us and reached out her hand over a couple people’s heads to give me a supportive hand squeeze (!!!???). aron eisenberg, i don’t know what the hell he was doing, but i feel like maybe somebody asked him about terry, because all of a sudden i hear something like, “terry left because she was in love with nog and couldn’t take it anymore.” garrett has three pokemon go accounts, which he showed off at my urging, and let me tell you, don’t encounter him at a gym because he has three dragonites, two tyranitars, a monster blissey, and god knows what else. dancing, dancing, more dancing. then it was time for it to be done, and time to go home. we watched reanimator. i was wired as hell and barely slept.

and THAT. was only friday.

saturday: i had kept my eyes open for a copy of the lives of dax the day before, but didn’t see anybody selling one. this morning, i walk by a booth we went to the previous day and all of sudden, on top of a bunch of other books in a big tub, there it was!!! couldn’t have forked my money over faster if i tried.

then i had this bright idea. hey... here’s a copy of lives of dax... and nicole is here... and she should sign it... and then in the future i can get terry to sign it... boom, bang, let’s do it, right? i had dylan drag me to nicole’s table because i was like, “i am never going to make even eye contact with her if you do not physically take me there,” and one of us brought up that we missed her at the klingon party. it’s cool, we all gotta sleep, right? well, it turns out nicole had gone out with the gaaays in spaaace people to the bar where they were going to have their party later. so she says garrett texts her, “uhhh hey you know you’re kinda supposed to be making an appearance at this thing, right?” nope! no clue. so she texts him back, “hmmm uhhh well,” takes another sip of her drink, “i think i’m doing good work here.”

the thing about nicole that i somehow missed in my drinking in of all ds9 actor content is that she embodies pure shitposter energy, but if the shitposts were coming from a wine mom. she’s hysterical, 50% intentionally and 50% unintentionally. an extremely excellent human. she signed lives of dax, i had my tribble photo op with her later (that i almost missed due to getting into a conversation with larry nemecek!) and she said she was going to the gays in space party later. helllll yes. i hope somebody puts up her q&a because she told a RIDICULOUS story about auditioning for ezri and creeping on jeri ryan on a plane. i can’t do it justice, there are movements that have to be seen.

we went to combsland finally, and i grilled him about whether or not herbert killed the cat, and we learned jeff has two cats! show them off, man! where are the vids! then, and i had never planned to do this, i bought an autograph from him, and the shran i bought it on ended up selling out! crazy.

hertzler had doodled a martok above his table, and so this combined with the little shran from yesterday led me to these words coming out of my mouth: “can i pay you for a drawing? can i pay you for a drawing of jadzia and martok brofisting?” he gave it very serious thought, said he was gonna have to look at a lot of pictures of terry (relatable), and told me to give him my e-mail. between him and his wife, i hope to god one of them remembers my e-mail is in his wallet. let me give you money!!!

my next tweets jump right to gays in space - again, dylan knows a lot of the gis folks, so i didn’t feel like i was going into this totally unawares. we’re chilling at the bar, i’m drinking my cranberry juice, and then o’reilly, aron, and nicole arrive, telling everybody that jg’s probably going to be late because a bouncer pushed his wife and he might go to jail. like, kidding, but also... it’s jg hertzler and he could legitimately fuck you up. so he was gonna be late, regardless.

nicole sees dylan and me and comes to say hello (????!!!!!) and somebody ends up saying, “get this lady a drink!” yeah, dylan and i were on that. in fact, i pulled my credit card out like i cared not one bit about identity theft, fico scores, my own personal finances; i would purchase this alcohol in an alley from a guy using a card skimmer. few minutes tick by and then i’ve officially bought a drink for nicole de boer (?????????!!!!!!!!) and i’m giving it to her (????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and we’re clinking our glasses together (?????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) i’m clinking glasses with nicole fucking de boer and somehow managing to be normal about it. i’m not altogether convinced i didn’t exit the universe entirely by this point and end up in another one.

the gays in space party was AMAZING, it was just as fun as the klingon party! if you have a chance to go to one, please do, there’s like no way you could ever regret it. you get treated to star trek-themed drag shows, get to mingle, there was a raffle, the people were just as friendly as the previous day, it was so great. we were out very late for my old lady body clock but it was worth every bit of exhaustion we felt the next morning, after the saga of actually getting home past a blocked off road and dylan slicing herself open on the bottom of my passenger seat.

sunday: nicole sees me, mid-yawn, and gives me one of those, “eyyy you and me went through some shit last night huh?” looks and tells me good morning. ( ? ? ? ? ? ! !  ! you know this drill.) combs ended up on the escalator behind us after his panel and i turned around and i said to him, “hey jeff, you got any pictures of your cats with you?” (no, but he has a black cat and a very vocal calico.) i went to chase’s table again and got another hug right out of the gate, we took a pic together, and she told me i was powerful! yo! or rather yooooooooooooooooooo!

the con was winding down at this point, but there was one more thing left: jeopardy. the jeopardy game was done at the first northeast trek con and was so popular they did it again, and i really, really hope someone uploads it to youtube because it is beyond description. first of all, the whole draw were the contestants: you could enter a raffle to end up on either hertzler’s, aron’s, or garrett’s team. the champion from the last game ended up buying half the tickets, so he was on it again, and not on aron’s team, much to aron’s annoyance because god almighty did he want to win. he was about to commit murder in there. someone said nicole was upset that she wasn’t in the game because she really wanted to play, lmfao. so the guys running it were like, “well, go get her, she can be on garrett’s team!” which sent aron into a fucking tailspin. now we got a team with two people on it?! they got nicole and drew the other winners, and the game began. 

one of the rules was “this isn’t going to be fair. at all.” actually, it was two of the rules. despite this, you’d have thought aron was bitten by a rabid raccoon. every lost question almost got him flipping the table over. nicole belatedly, i’m talking like 5 minutes into it, realizes she doesn’t understand the rules of jeopardy and can’t figure out why “their” question was answered by someone else. she can’t believe someone knew what voyager’s registry number was. one of the questions was, “a young kid called ensign kim this name instead of ‘ensign’,” and with no hesitation, she answers, “asshole,” and wasn’t even joking, that was her actual guess.    R E A L    W I N E    M O M    H O U R S

the winner was hertzler and the previous champ. aron wants to ban the guy from buying tickets ever again. we head to the closing ceremony but it doesn’t happen? lmfao. well, guess the con’s over!

@abravenoise, one of our other con pals, and dylan were all taking the same bus that night, so we all went to grab dinner with two other guys, one who was a con pal and one i hadn’t encountered at all, and halfway through our dinner larry nemecek strolls in and sits down with us. things just keep happening, huh? the guy i hadn’t encountered at all was really impressed with me unhinging my jaw to consume my burger, and halfway through doing this i have to stop because he says, “hey, why the HECK did jadzia die?!” ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh here go hell come. my time to shine.

larry like looooves asking people what brought them to star trek, and this time he was asking us the -whys- of what brings us to star trek. i said the characters, for sure. he asked us about our favorites. i told him mine had changed throughout my life, but that when i was a kid, dr. crusher was my first favorite. he said, “in high school?” i said, “no, i mean, when i was REALLY little. like 4 or 5.” he asked me, “wow, have you ever met gates at a con and told her that?” pfft well, no, but first of all, now you got me wanting that, second of all i said what i really wanted was to swap cat pictures with her.

that was the end. i took everybody to their bus, went home, snuggled up in bed, and just asked myself, “what the fuck happened?” i still don’t know! but it was fun as hell, and amazingly impactful, if i’m being honest with you. i was surrounded by so many people brimming with enthusiasm, so many people who were happy. then there’s me, a curmudgeon who’s done everything in her power to stamp down her happiness all in the name of being ~cool or whatever. and it hasn’t made me very happy. i mean, i am also clinically depressed, there is that. but i’ve stopped sharing the things i enjoy with others, especially in recent years. i’ve closed myself off, mostly out of fear and attempting to survive my old job, but even here, i tend to keep myself at a distance, and i thought it was just because i’ve run the whole gamut of loving something before and just want to hang out with my friends. i think it’s more than that, though. i think it’s more of a defensive posture, and it’s that same posture which is running my life right now. it’s exhausting. this weekend wasn’t exhausting. it was in the sense that the human body needs rest and sleep and food and i wasn’t getting nearly enough of any of it, but emotionally, i was unburdened.

it would be nice to be that way all the time. i don’t know if it’ll be possible to be happy again like the people i met this weekend, but i do know that i want to experience this over and over and over again.

now, next time, maybe @rootmacklin and @jadziadax will be with me and we’ll be showing off our friendship necklaces to a very tall lady. that would be a good step toward unlocking my happiness...
