Angela makes it a point to rise before any of her fellow sisters whenever possible; not only due to her duties as prioress and commitment to the Liturgy of the Hours (although you'd be hard pressed to find another sister willing to wholeheartedly commit to Lauds save for Hedwig and the Superior for all the rabble rousing and etc), but because she needs the peace and quiet away from the others. If she can sneak in a short walk---with the garden and the cloister being her favorite places---she will use such moments to try and organize her thoughts. If she can't go on an early morning walk she will absolutely walk around midnight, although the calming/centering effect of the activity is somewhat diminished because Angela finds herself being on the lookout for her fellow sisters more often than not and will corral any troublemakers if need be.

On the whole Angela keeps odd hours; a combination of night owl and early bird, mainly because there's just so much for her to do, too many things to keep track of, and so on, to the point where her getting any restful sort of sleep is rather rare. She'll sacrifice quite a bit just to have a moment or two to herself; so busy do her commitments and rigidity keep her, to say nothing of other outside forces.

Shar is such a fundamental part of Ana'Hira's 'descent' into divinity. Arriving in the girl's life during the first leg of her 'Terran Career', Shar was a road marker for 'Angela' to mark her growth by.

Watching Shar handle humans made Angela want to be able to manipulate them just as effectively. She wanted to be able to destroy them, to uplift them, to string them around her fingers and make them DANCE!

Listening to the stories by which she changed the course of human history made Angela NEED to find power enough to stand at her side, to laugh in the faces of cosmic forces and rip them from their domains over a cup of tea.

Laughing with her, studying her antics, pissing her off that one time and suffering immensely for it (sorry, bestie😔)? All formative, all demonstrative of what POWER truly was in this cosmos, and all adamantium-clad bonds that still manage to keep The Goddess grounded into the legacy she 'left behind' once she ascended.

After her pantheon was revived, and Ana'Hira took her seat atop the Throne of Worlds, there was one person waiting for her within The Garden.

sex+romance headcanons! (Jaden only)

👍 Does my muse prefer to be asked on a date, or would they rather do the asking?

Surprisingly, Jaden would prefer being approached to doing the approaching. He's fine with approaching others and can do it without much of an issue, but he generally feels more confident when the other comes to him first.

A small, unrecognized side effect of Angela is that Jaden is acutely aware of himself; size, stature, intimidation factor. So, he knows that when he walks up to a person he can be and is a little scary looking. So, when someone else comes up to him instead it sets a better tone for him. He may still be scary, but they're still willing to speak with him anyway. It's a good confidence and trust boost.

💘 What are the ways my muse says ‘I love you’ without actually saying it?

He'll memorize the way his partner(s) take their coffee and recreate it whenever possible. Or just order it without having to ask if it's a specialty item. Favorite and-or comfort meals will be learned as well, and prepared upon request or any detection of the love being needed.

It's basically a story about Alois turning his back on Claude and instead being swayed to Ash's side, becoming Ash's little puppet as opposed to Queen Victoria. It's mythological, theological, philosophical, and also really really disturbing JFJKSDF there's sebaclaude, sebastian being ciel's weird dad, alois being in-characteredly toyed with (poor boy), and ashgela being a total bastard.

Next chapter of Missing Time is up!

I've put together some notes/bts/musings as we get into the second chapter of Missing Time, if anyone is interested. I suggest reading the chapter first and then coming back to this. It's almost as long as the fic tbh.

Also, fair warning, August is going to be busy for me (my art collective has a booth at our pride street festival which is extremely exciting) and I'm only going to get more fic cranked out if I'm ignoring my other responsibilities. Which is highly likely. But there is a small chance I decide to do the right thing, so please be patient with me.

The chapter begins with Dulcie and Cath attempting to lay things out on the table, however, we're still in the early days following a massive, traumatic, event and this short discussion is woefully insufficient. Self-indulgently, I'm reflecting my own experiences onto the characters of Deadloch in that I'm never able to fully process something and talk about it immediately. It takes me a lot of time to sort through my own feelings and to get everything kind of ready in my head before I can fully articulate what I need. So, all this to say, this is not the final conversation between them and it's not meant to fix anything. They're still in "I'm so fucking thankful you're alive" mode (particularly Cath).

Cath puts a lot of work into naming her emotions and being very clear about where she's at, and I actually admire this. Unfortunately, she chooses frankly terrible moments to have these heart-to-hearts. I think that Cath thought, because she'd been more than happy to make big changes (changing careers, moving to Deadloch), that Dulcie was happy about the changes, too, and that's why she spends most of the season trying to hang on too tightly, and why she feels so betrayed that, no, actually, Dulcie loves being a detective and there are times when that needs to come first.

I've never had interest in monogamist relationships and I'm finding it difficult to write Cath as jealous or insecure about Dulcie's relationship with Eddie. It's just not something I've had experience with, tbh, so I apologise if maybe I miss the mark on her characterisation. Happy to chat with people about it.

If Eddie's a gremlin, Angela's defo a gremlin too. I will not be taking any questions about this.

As established in the show, Angela has overactive anal glands and anxiety.

From scenes within Cath and Dulcie's, we can see that the stairs are carpeted and other areas are as well, but I believe in the first episode, we can see that their bedroom is hardwood and that there's a rug beneath their bed, so I've made the decision to assume the other bedroom is hardwood too. This note is just for people who can't ignore canon details.

What Eddie doesn't know is that Cath has a strict no-sugar policy at home, and the fact that she's brought coke and sugar (for Eddie's coffee) into the house is very telling.

I didn't get the feeling that Abby and James were living together, even though they were engaged and barring religious reasons, typically people live together before getting married?? I've headcanoned that Abby lives alone because this break up has been a long time coming and Abby has been dragging her feet about moving in, because her gut was screaming at her to stay away but her head wasn't fully listening.

Fuck Margaret and her gun. I'm unsure if Wendy is in prison just because she "stole" that gun, or if there are other reasons (like the "crime" of defending her daughter from a sexual predator)-- either way, I'm pissed, Abby's pissed, Cath's pissed, and Sharelle is fucking LIVID. As well she should be.

Deadloch is the only thing I have ever watched where I don't rankle at the gendered terms constantly being used (ma'am from Abby and miss from the teens). However, Eddie is about to find out a whole lot about herself, which is why she asks not to be called ma'am.

Bushy's death really reminds me of the real death of a man who also disappeared while on a boat, and who I believe they also assumed had been eaten by crocs or alligators (I can't remember which it was). Years later, it came out that the man had actually been killed by his best friend, at the behest of his wife, who'd been having an affair with the best friend. I'm not sure if this is the inspiration for Bushy's death but it's the first thing that came to mind when we learn Bushy was actually shot in the head.

I googled mapped lutruwita*, thank-you-very-much. I'm imagining Deadloch's not more than an hour from Hobart, primarily based on Cath's run out to the Bunnings in Kingston, and the fact that one main shooting location, Cygnet, is about 45 mins from Hobart.

The two-months-later scenes literally leave Deadloch with not a single cop? Sven I imagine has found something new, Abby's at forensics, and Dulcie is in Darwin with Eddie. I'm trying to make sense of this and the only way I can is to have Dulcie oversee the hiring of new staff. But I cannot picture one single Deadloch resident wanting to join the force, which has clearly been a problem in the past, too, considering both Sven and Dulcie are outside hires.

Eddie asking Abby if she's set up a meeting with Kate is funny because Abby literally just mentioned it the night before and then passed out. But Eddie's impatient and Abby strikes me as the type of person who would have woken up that morning and sent out an email on her phone as soon as she could so that she wouldn't lose her nerve. So YES she does already have a meeting set up.

Nadiyah and Cath 110% set up this dinner behind their partners' backs. Nadiyah is still trying to get Skye to open up about her feelings. It's not going very well, so far. Skye was convinced into making some more hors d'oeuvres when Nadiyah pointed out they could probably use up the rest of the pricey ham.

THANK YOU to all the Aussies and drinkers who responded to my post re: beer, slabs, etc. I hope I haven't annoyed anyone by choosing to have Eddie stuff some tinnies (I stole this cute word from @rosetheredfloatingbaby 's comments and hopefully I've used it correctly) into her pockets. I could not get over picturing this. She is NOT being subtle. In the end, I chose two beers because they would have been refrigerated and would still be cold in the minutes it takes to go from that bottle shop (we see the sign for it a few times) to the Bush Wolf.

You'll also be happy to hear that I spent time on the Australian govt website, looking into liquor licences. It seems that this is actually up to the establishment (with exceptions) and that you can be licensed for one or the other or both (to my limited understanding). Considering the enormous amount of wine we see at the Bush Wolf, I doubt they would typically allow BYO.

Whilst I understand that Dulcie was, you know, trying to catch a literal serial killer, she did unfortunately have to dredge up a LOT of long-buried secrets and fuck with a lot of people's heads to do it. She's not really to blame for this, but I think Dulcie is the type of person who would feel badly about it, regardless. You can feel shit about something even if you thought you'd had no other choice at the time.

Vic visiting Vanessa and Dolph (at Sharelle's) - I feel that Vic would feel some responsibility towards Vanessa, who was a child when Vic's husband began grooming her. We often feel guilt associated to the shitty things our abusers do to others, and we internalise that even when it's not our fault. Vic gave Vanessa a job, and I feel that really showed that Vic felt something for Vanessa, who also was not at fault for what Sam did. It's also easier for Vic to forgive Vanessa for being nasty given she's not the one who had to deal with incessant bullying like Skye did (boy is their relationship gonna be bumpy).

Apologies to anyone who likes abalone. I don't eat meat and I was Eddie-levels of disgusted when I looked it up. I imagine that, for Dulcie, not liking oysters is based on having tasted them and deciding they weren't for her, whereas Eddie strikes me as the kind of person who is disgusted by the mere mention of anything that looks gross, even if she's never tasted it before.

Skye, knowing Dulcie's track record with her partners (okay, one partner), is v v suss about the whole vibe between Eddie and Dulcie, and hasn't realised yet that the vibe extends to Cath, too.

Angela is treating Jamie. He takes some medication to help with his disorders and the radiation. His hair even grew back a little and his mood swings are a little more controlled. Even so, there is still a long way to go.

Jamie's eyesight gets bad sometimes. So he started using the googles on his forehead to help when he needed it. Angela suggested that he wear lenses. But when she tried to put it in his eyes he had a panic attack and ran away from her for a few weeks.

Jamie loves to sleep naked. Always used to the hot Australia air, he prefers to sleep without any clothes on.

In my main verse Junkrat joins Overwatch. And begins treatment to reduce the effects of radiation. With time he starts to improve, even if some effects are irreversible. But there are alternative verses that that he does not enter on Overwatch. In these specific verses, he and other junkers will probably die sooner. On the other hand, they have greater resistance to radiation and other attributes.(Note that this may change if any muse he interacts with inverts this condition. However, this remains in a dependent verse and does not interfere with the main verse. Unless I wanted to include this.)

Junkrat loves electronic music and is a fan of Lúcio. Frog Dj's music even reached Junkertown radio. And as soon as he heard it he fell in love with the melodies. When he left Australia, he secretly went to some live shows. When Jamie joined Overwatch and found he could do missions with Lúcio. Jamison blew up some of the base areas in happiness. But he was banned from blowing things up for a week.
