The Preferable Alternative- Prologue - Part 1

New au. I can't explain the main thought behind this without spoilers. And since i'm jumping straight into a multi-part comic, i won't be giving out any.

Basically vibes for this is that it's kinda creepy and maybe suspenseful with eventual hurt/comfort (if that doesn't make sense, im sorry, i have a hard time describing things). I'm also pretty mean to Donnie. Not "Donnie vs" mean, but unfortunately this idea wouldn't work with anyone else.

(for those that get anxious, like me. There is no main character death. (might not be death at all but we shall see. that depends on one character and even i'm not sure exactly what they'd do yet.) and no one's gets serious physical injuries. Definitely more hurt/comfort than plain angst. b/c that's how i roll. I can't do straight up angst.)

I'll write a proper summery once the prologue's done. I don't want to spoil it too much. For now, just know it's a PB&J duo story that happens during the 6 weeks before the Krang invasion.

Halsin being the only person to actually listen to Durge and believe that something is wrong is both heartbreaking for the isolation from the rest of the group and comforting that at least one person cares from the start.

They have nothing of themself, but they have one person that will listen.

waiting until the second season opener to reveal that stolas terminally love-at-first-sighted that little motherfucker (I wish I was exaggerating or joking but no that shit was literally ON SIGHT), thus recontextualizing in one stroke everything about season 1, was an act of stunning emotional violence in storytelling that I may never recover from it's perfect

Bedrock Bros lives on in my mind foreverrrrrr I love them so much. I love the mentor/annoying child duo it worked so well. And at that time it was exactly what c!Tommy needed. Fresh out of Exile where he'd been ready to give up on everything. There was so very little left of him, all of it conditioned out of him. (I'm probably gonna talk about the exile arc at some point just because it was my all time favorite part of the smp)

But it's his first act of rebellion (of maybe you could say anarchy) that led him to c!Techno. It's him choosing to disobey Dream that led him to the man (literal anarchy incarnate and if that doesn't work so well) that would help him reignite his spark and stoke the fire inside him once again.

And it hurts so much because in the end Techno and Tommy despite how well they work together differ in morals. Tommy thinks of the people he used to know, he believes in re-establishing L'manburg to get back what was ripped from him. And Techno believes only in the people he closely affiliates with, and his goal was to get rid of the establishment which twisted the people (the people Tommy is trying so desperately to get back) within it. So we've got two characters, one who seeks the order that once held his peers at their best and one who seeks to destroy the same order that changed them for the worst. It was bound to fail.

The worst was that they never spoke about it. Techno wanted to believe that Tommy was on his side so bad. He failed to see that Tommy was still so attached to the past. And then in destroying L'manburg a second time Techno sought to free them of that order (and also a bit of bloodlust and freebie terrorism in there but y'know it's Techno we're talking about here) but Tommy just couldn't understand. It left him with yet another gaping wound of loss. Maybe if they'd talked more. Maybe if Tommy was in better shape. Maybe, maybe, maybe. In the end the Smp was always about tragedy.

When Hei Xiazi met Xie Yuchen… I think the logic is very simple. The answer that resides in their hearts is the same; for many things, they have the same answer. Hei Xiazi might use his long life and many experiences to achieve his final conclusion, whereas Xie Yuchen uses his own intelligence and reasoning to reach a final conclusion. This answer [that they come up with] is in a different direction; it’s not the same as what Wu Xie and Zhang Qiling, or Pangzi, might come up with. This answer is one in which only the two of them know; in fact, this answer is one in which only they can understand. The roads of the past cannot be chosen; Xie Yuchen has no way of [going back and] choosing the path that Wu Xie has taken. He has already walked onto the path that he must continue on. The answer on this path is the same as the path that Hei Yanjing originally chose [to walk on]—the final conclusion is shared. So that’s the reason why these two have a resonance within the whole story.
