MCU Clea's a Fugitive AU Headcanons Part 3:
Hey everybody. So, for the last few months I've been fleshing out the world a bit in regards to the Clea AU and figured I'd post them on here.
Some of these are related to Stephen and Friends, but most of these are about how the Marvel Universe has developed and changed in this MCU timeline.
Let's go!
.............................................
During a time where The Enchantress is interested in acquiring The Eye of Agamotto, she manipulates a frustrated college student looking to prove society can operate just fine without men around into placing a spell on New York City that makes all the men (children included) fall into a deep sleep, including Stephen. Of course, he's a stubborn SOB, so he manages to keep himself awake just long enough to tell Clea she needs to find other allies, specifically female allies to help restore order and reverse the spell. With the help of Cloakie, she assembles a team consisting of She-Hulk, Jessica Jones, Kate Bishop and Lucky, Shuri, Okoye and Anneka, Hope Van Dyne, Valkyrie, Yelena, Iron Heart, Maria Hill and Ms. Marvel.
While they never give themselves a name, Kamala dubs their girl group A-Force. None of them like it, but she keeps calling them that, anyway.
During clean-up, Kamala, Kate and Jessica's group comes upon Zebediah Killgrave, aka The Purple Man. Kamala recognizes him from Reddit and Twitter threads and has heard rumors' of what he can do, which Kate and Jessica confirm. Kamala and Kate decide to have some fun and start writing on his face. Jessica seems to disapprove at first...until she asks for the pen and joins in the fun.
In this timeline, Shuri DOES survive the Blip, and she becomes the new Black Panther in T'challa's stead. As a result, the events of Wakanda Forever take place during the five year gap instead of after.
When T'challa returns, M'Baku abdicates the throne to him. He tries managing being King and Black Panther alongside Shuri for a time but, seeing how well Shuri has been managing being Wakanda's protector, and realizing that he'd like to spend more time with Nakia and their son, decides he'll just settle for being King and convinces Nakia to move back to Wakanda so he can work on proposing to her.
Shuri goes through their mother's things and finds her old engagement ring. She gives it to T'challa, encouraging him to propose to Nakia using that.
Sam still becomes Captain America, but Rhodey, after going through his own version of Armor Wars, emerges as the new Iron Man.
While the Avengers still exist Post-Endgame, they exist as more of a floating roster instead of having an official line-up. That changes when Stephen is made aware Dormammu is coming to Earth, so him and Wong go about finding allies and, in the process re-form the Avengers with a new, official roster.
The new roster consists of Sam as Captain America, The Hulk, She-Hulk, Thor, Antman and The Wasp, and Hawkeye.
Reserve members include Iron Man, Kate Bishop, Shuri and Captain Marvel. Shang-Chi was offered a spot, but he turns it down, preferring to help out in the mystic community and keep a low profile.
Wanda still becomes the Scarlet Witch and begins using The Darkhold. Key difference here is the mystics of Karmar-Taj and Stephen have been keeping a close eye on her since the events of Wandavision. So when i's made evident that the Darkhold's corruption is beginning to affect her, Stephen and Wong go to retrieve the book and help her before she goes coo-coo for cocoa cocoa puffs. It's not an easy battle, but they eventually win out in the end and offer Wanda a place at Karmar-Taj. She turns down the offer but says she doesn't mind coming to visit and check out books from their library so she can learn as much as possible about her powers.
Christine and her husband end up having a child.
Stephen begins having nightmare visions of the future, which Wong realizes this as the first sign as him growing into becoming ready to take on the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme.
The Contest of The Vishanti exists in this universe, so Stephen still has to compete with other sorcerers for the mantle. This is where he initially meets Doom, who tied with Wong in previous contest. Naturally, Stephen wins and, with Doom as the runner-up, he has no choice but to assist Doom in helping him rescue his mother's soul from hell.
After that, Stephen maintains the same relationship with Victor as he does in the comics; he doesn't care much for his antics, but does see his noble intentions, however misguided they are. In other words, he recognizes that Victor von Doom, though not a good person, has layers to him.
.......................................
That's all I got for now but if I'll post any more I come up with as time goes by.

“Oh, Merlin, tell me, does THE QUEEN OF SWORDS get what she deserves?” She is in THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX & CLOSED to finding out.
— she walks through the world as ;
name → annabeth pebworth pronouns → she/her identification → cis female year of birth → september 1952 - september 1953 face claim → jessica henwick blood status → muggle-born sexual orientation → up to applicant occupation → deputy head hit wix at the department of magical law enforcement at the ministry of magic future information → head of hit wix at the department of magical law enforcement at the ministry of magic, wife of dougal mckinnon
— she is best described as ;
Forged by DRAGONS BREATH, she is the ASSURANCE of a NEW DAWN coloured in scarlet yet the CAUTION warned in it’s wake. The GUIDING HAND of a blade, SURE, STEADY and UNYIELDING in the face of PROTECTION and PERSEVERANCE.  While they can be as TENDER as the whistle of wind through mountains, it’s a gift for only those stubborn enough to unlock a IRON CAST HEART sealed from decades of hopelessly cold, to hold.
— her story starts with ;
tw: death
There is little that Annabeth cares to remember of her time before becoming a Pebworth. Merely a collection of disjointed memories, fractured hope and careless actions from those that were meant to love her. The product of a careless night, Annabeth was born to a mother too young to look after herself let alone a child. Abandoned and left in an orphanage, Annabeth raised her sister Isla with protective hand and the overbearingness of a mother at only seven. Seeing it as her duty to protect her, she vowed even then that nothing would be able to tear them apart. While the orphanage was as bleak and grey, the people inside held hope for the young souls within. Finding families for as many children as they could muster. Isabella and Angus Pebworth hailed from the highlands, simple folk who always wanted a child of their own; the news of a newborn looking for a home brought them to the orphanage. Only to find that if they wished to take Isla; they’d have to take Annabeth too. While it wasn’t what they’d wished for, it was still a family.
Annabeth knew that she wasn’t wanted. Her age made her less desirable, her guarded attitude and protection over her sister was a challenge. Especially when strange things started to happen. The crashing of a plate when tears started to fall, the playing of the gramophone to sooth Isla without it being turned on, the flickering of lights to accompany her tears. While her parents swore the house was haunted and insisted they fled to the Isle of Skye to escape their demons; Anna feared it wasn’t the house but herself. Exploring the fields behind the village they lived, her eyes fell on four figures all of whom were flying. The magic she’d been hiding under her covers at night of flickering flames wasn’t insanity, it was real and there were others just as she. As quickly as her realization came, she was knocked to the ground by COINNEACH MCKINNON [future brother in law]; who was swiftly scorned by DOUGAL MCKINNON [best friend/fiancè]. Annabeth’s short temper and spark only made the McKinnon’s smirk, who welcomed her to join them gladly. The McKinnon’s saved Annabeth from loneliness and self destruction; akin spirits they taught her about the wizarding world, showing her life, freedom and how to finally breathe.
The Pebworth’s fear of magic tore the family apart. Superstitious, the unknown whelm of witchcraft they saw as cursed. Deeming that no child of theirs would have a hand in such unnatural acts, they burned Hogwarts letters upon arrival only until a mysterious cat appeared at their window. Transforming into a woman before their very eyes, PROFESSOR MINERVA MCGONAGALL [mentor] escorted the witch personally to Hogwarts, throwing shame in her wake for their negligence. Hogwarts was beyond anything she could have wished for. Doned in red, she soared with her fellow Gryffindor’s; atlast finally wanted and free. The brightest witch of her year with resilient prowess, the girl excelled far beyond anyone’s expectations. Able to fight her own battles when the likes of LACHESIS MALFOY [adversary] shouted mudblood across the halls, though with Dougal, ALICE YEN [best friend], FRANK LONGBOTTOM [close friend], AMOS DIGGORY [friend], HESTIA JONES [friend] and IAIN WOOD [friend] readily at her side for once she didn’t need to be her own champion. Yielding a fury of protection for the people she loves, the witch’s devotion to safeguard her chosen family and those vulnerable became her striving purpose. Graduating and taking a job as a Auror under ALASTOR MOODY [boss], she became bold and defiant in her untouchable youth.
Though one night, everything changed. Ravagers stormed the mountains of Skye in hope to capture the famed and protected Hebridean Black dragons. The roars of fire shook the town as dragons cried for their children leaving the McFusty calling any wix on the island to help. Fighting in combat alongside the McKinnon’s, McCormack’s, Wood’s and McGonagall’s the families united managed to ward off the thieves; still with great consequences. Isla had followed her sister with the ambition to help. Though at only twelve, her skills weren’t nearly enough to match that of older wix. Caught between a spell and a dragon, in a blink of an eye Annabeth lost her sister forever. With no body to be found, any life that Isla Pebworth had once held; simply turned to memory. Blamed for her sister’s death, the Pebworths disowned Annabeth. Wanting nothing to do with magic and the daughter that had left their greatest treasure dead, they left never to be seen again. Devastated and plagued with grief; Annabeth’s heartbroken cries echoed through the mountains. With a piece of her soul stolen, despite the McKinnon’s taking her in; the witch was unconsolable. Turned reserved from fear of the unbearable grief that comes with love lost, Annabeth became colder and guarded in a fleeting attempt to protect what remained of her heart.
While many tried to heal the mourning witch, it was Dougal who found a way into her heart. Though arrogant, there was something about him that was disarming. For a man too proud and noble it was maddening, she offered a wit as sharp as a viper leaving their interactions often comical to those around them. Years of friendship turned to love as they bickered over games of wizards chess, sipped butterbeers and healed each other through the misfortune that had befallen them. While their years of friendship, love and then engagement were news celebrated by friends, by most however distaste could be felt in their stares. Most surprising of all; Nathair who’s objection ripped through the fabric of the McKinnon family. Obstinate that she wouldn’t tear them apart, Annabeth fled to the hills. Only for Dougal to capture her in an embrace, claiming there was no place on earth that would be far enough for him to forget the bond they shared; assuring it would meet good ends. While fraught with concern at the growing unrest both within her family and community, Annabeth dove into work. While Alastor fought against the head of law enforcement BARTEMIUS CROUCH SR [boss] insisting she become the head of the department of Hit wix, with her muggle-born status; the Ministry board refused.
Angered, Alastor spoke of a group forming to combat against discrimination and offer tangible change; The Order of the Phoenix.Hungry for purpose, while she knows her time will come, with the growing strife she aches being on the sidelines wanting nothing more than to wage her own war. Though, even she knows it's not wise with anonymous threats of violence left in her office. What started as one, became two, till she was finding threats daily scattered on her desk as pureblood propaganda. While the letters of terror and dark symbols are unnamed, even Annabeth knows she’d be a fool not to dismiss such cryptic messages. Keeping them hidden from her friends and Dougal to not cause alarm, Annabeth has taken the situation into her own hands. Seeking consort from EMMELINE VANCE [friend], the pair are trying to detect a magical trace off of any of the letters she has received. Testing the ink and parchment, to see if it will lead to a clue but coming up nout. But with the most recent letter being slipped under the front door, Annabeth’s nerve is growing strained with how close to home the threats are turning. With Muggles disappearing daily and the threat on non-pureblood wix growing; Annabeth fears that it’s only a matter of time before her name is added to the missing persons list.
— she is a LEVEL 8 WITCH & readied for war ;

Grand Opening of The Emporium Report!
Hello and Welcome to my blog!
My name is Wayn (They/Them) and I started this blog because I just wanted a place to formally store my thoughts about certain comic issues or comic events!
A little about me, I'm:
Non-Binary
21 years old
Currently in university as a Technical Theatre Major and a Creative Writing Minor.
Filpino-American!
Although I am a Creative Writing Minor, I'm really bad at grammer and overthink a lot so if I write terrible sentences, no I did not <3 :). Other than reading and thinking about comics, I love playing video games such as League of Legends (sadly) + related games, Dark Souls, Resident Evil, Bayonetta, and so much more! (I may from time to time write about these games, but that will be in the future ;)
Little more fun facts:
Favorite Food: Sushi or my mother's sisig
Favortie Musician(s): Wolf Alice, Beyonce, Doja Cat, Rina, plus my monthy music obsession (which is Janelle Monae's The Age of Pleasure)
Favorite Color: Love a good blue, purple, or red
Favorite Movie: At this moment? Across the Spider-verse (EEAO is VERY close behind)
Favorite Show: The Magicians
Now to get into my comic journey and experience!
Comic History
My first exposure to the comics, or at least superheroes, was the Fox X-Men movies! My family had the 2000's trilogy on DVD and it was the one of the only things I liked watching alongside with Spongebob and Ben 10. I would always watch these movies on loop at my father's work on those portable DVD players. Looking back, it was such a fun and simple time!
Tumblr media
As I grew up, I watched more Marvel related media such as Ultimate Avengers (2006), Super Hero Squad, Agents of Shield, and even played Marvel Heroes Omega for years until its sad shutdown in 2017. But enough of what I watched or played, the very first comic I read was in 2014 with All New X-Men #18!
Tumblr media
But why this particular issue? Well I purely blame Stuart Immonen and his beautiful artwork! I remember seeing this particular cover and loving the new costumes of the O5! The futuristic unitard with each person color coded was very appealing to young me! I also liked that I knew the central characters: The Original Five X-Men. I specifically loved Jean Grey and had an unhealthy crush on Scott Summers (I even read is solo series :o). But this issue is what brought me into comics and when re-reading the run today, I get great flashbacks and memories!
Now here are some personal comic fun facts:
Favorite Character(s): Illyana Rasputin (Magik), Danielle Moonstar (Mirage), Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch), Ororo Munroe (Storm)
Honorable Mentions: Kwannon (Psylocke), Jean Grey, Rachel Summers (Askani), Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman), Gwen Stacy (Ghost-Spider), Miles Morales (Spider-Man), literally all the New Mutants (except Magma...)
Favorite Writer(s): Chris Claremont (past), Jonathan Hickman, Vita Ayala, Leah Williams, Steve Orlando
Favorite Artists: Russell Dauterman, Bill Sienkiewicz, Kevin Wada, Kris Anka, Joshua Swaby, Sara Pichelli
Favorite Limited Comic Run: House of X (2019) by Jonathan Hickman
Favorite Issue: New Mutants #41 by Chris Claremont
What is The Emporium Report?
To elaborate more on the purpose of this blog, I just wanted a place where I can write and write and store my thoughts. Out in the real world, I don't really talk about comics as the community around me are not really fond of comics (theatre people D:). So, I made a twitter (@emporium_report) that I ramble on about comics. But, I wanted to make a full report or essay about certain issues (such as the brilliance of New Mutants #41) so I made this!
Prepare to read:
Analysis on single issues or characters
Reactions/General Thoughts on Comic Runs or Events
Personal deepdives into characters
Possible video game analysis/reactions and such
and more!
Lastly, why is it called The Emporium Report?
Well, I am a really big Scarlet Witch fan (will probably go into my history with her later) and I found her new shop in Orlando's run to be quite neat! The mystical shop is called Emporium and now this page is called The Emporium Report!
Thank you for reading all the way to the end!
I am currently looking for any comic friends so apply away! :D
But in all seriousness, thank you and I hope that I stay comitted to this page!
-Wayn.

Being Brough Back
OOC;;
So *someone* talked me in to coming back to Tumblr. While I wait to see if I'll get to use my old codes, here are my characters available for use:
Barbara Gordon | Oracle | FC: Bryce Dallas Howard | DC Universe A spitfire of a woman, daughter to James Gordon, Barbara has established herself as a veritable good guy kingpin. She provides intelligence and hacking to those who need it, the best technical advisor you could find anywhere. Keep in mind that Babs will not take any shit from anyone, and if she has something on her mind, you can be sure she'll tell you.
Timothy "Tim" Jackson Drake | FC: Ryan Potter | DC Universe
Genius, sleuth, prodigy. Tim is a proud Robin, and knows that his mind is second to very few, if any. Book smart, snarky, and happy to be part of the Wayne family, Tim is a bit of an oddity, but he likes it that way. If only he was a little less serious.
Michelle Evans | "Wolf" | FC: Emilia Clarke | Marvel Universe
Michelle Evans, the daughter of two nobodies that she'd just as soon avoid, became entrenched in SHIELD when she was only 14. Taken away from an abusive family who didn't quite understand her Mutation, the girl is now safely working as a translation expert, not allowed on field missions. She's met the Avengers, sure, but how are you supposed to be allowed out when your mutation is literally a feral creature trapped in human form?
Sarah Rogers | FC: Jessica Chastain | Marvel Universe
Multiple timelines available. The Irish Catholic mother of one Steven Grant Rogers. See Chara page for one Verse idea. Others available.
Wanda Maximoff | Scarlet Witch | FC: Elizabeth Olsen | Marvel Universe
Daughter of a Jewish father and Romani mother, Wanda was raised as a settled Romani woman by Marya and Django Maximoff. Living in Sokovia meant she was raised in a world at war, and it was as a child in this war-torn country that she realized that she was a witch. Keeping it a secret from her parents until they died, Wanda considers herself estranged from both God and the Roma peoples, thinking her mutant gifts nothing more than a curse. Her life was forever entwined with her beloved brother Pietro, One soul in two bodies to her mind. The pair relied on HYDRA to fix their world, only to become experiments. One prison for another, she belonged to the Avengers until the Sokovia Accords threatened to rip her freedom from her, and she ran away to live a life of solitude...missing the other half of her soul, and relying heavily on Vision. (Wandavision and after available.)
Sigyn Freyjasdottir | FC: Bryce Dallas Howard | Marvel Universe/Norse Myth
Sigyn is the daughter of Freyja, the proud goddess of fidelity. Sharp tongued and honest, this Vanir woman is a master of the Seidr, illusory magic her skill of specialty. Married to Loki early on in a marriage of political convenience between the Vanir and the As, she once suffered, but since long before his supposed 'betrayal', she has been in love. The woman is a fierce protector of her 'dead' husband, and will ever defend him.
Fenrir, the Dread Wolf | FC: Alex Saxon | Marvel Universe
You want to talk about a young man with hatred in his heart and a weight on his shoulders, look no further. Fen knows well what was done to him, and feels betrayed every day. Scars in his fur mark the passage of time, and the ever hungry son of Loki stays, chained. He has learned to cast his semblance, though, to give him some kind of gift of FREEDOM, to feel like just another person.
Lyanna Stark | FC: Lyndsy Fonseca | Game of Thrones (MULTIVERSE)
The stoic daughter of the North, Lyanna is a woman that would likely be more at home on the Battlefield than in the castle. However, she was promised to marry Robert Baratheon, much to her chagrin, and was embroiled in her own duty. Never let it be said that Lyanna did not do her best, for Duty and Honor were above all for her at one point in her life. However, a roguish prince from the Royal family claimed her heart, and stole her away from an unhappy arrangement...And she bore him a son. (Multiple Verses Available)
Alice Liddell | FC: Mia Wasikowska| Multiverse
The Liddell line is a delightfully mad thing, and it all began with one girl, dizzy and dreamy. Alice Liddell is the original girl down the rabbit hole, able to slip between one world and the next with such ease that it might well shock others to see.

Did it ever occur to anyone that Wanda’s Roma background in the comics was BUILT on racist stereotypes? Similarly to M’Baku but also several others. And maybe that’s why the show runners stepped away from that..?
Tumblr media
okay, so i think what we have here is someone who skimmed the original post in question (paragraph 2) and likely didn’t ready any of the links attached because that first message has been addressed already... but for anyone else in the same boat:
from gavia baker-whitelaw’s article:
Wanda and Pietro's Romani heritage was canon for decades (including in their non-mutant backstory), although this depiction often had problematic undertones. Wanda is literally a mysterious foreign witch, a damaging stereotype that acquired more nuance in later comics. But instead of updating Wanda and Pietro as modern Jewish/Romani superheroes (much like how Black Panther's charismatic M'Baku started out as a villain named "Man-Ape"), Disney whitewashed them. This casting choice was divisive in 2013, when The Atlantic highlighted the negative connotations of casting a white blonde actress as Scarlet Witch. Roma people are a marginalized ethnic minority, and Disney chose to erase their presence from the MCU.
...This rewrite was rather tone-deaf, because it involved Wanda and Pietro volunteering for neo-Nazi experiments. In the comics, their original parents were Holocaust survivors. Whedon also ignored the most obvious solution to Wanda and Pietro's non-mutant backstory: Django and Marya Maximoff, their Romani parents from the comics.
white washing characters is never the best solution. it doesn’t address the issue in so much as it just sweeps it under the rug. as well as perpetuating the idea that white is some unproblematic neutral that ppl can just default to. like can you imagine if in an attempt to “fix” how m’baku is portrayed in the comics, they just...put a white guy in the role? you can’t just remove a characters racial or ethnic background. no one is saying that her comic background hasn’t been problematic, but this isn’t the way to remedy that.
@scarlet--wiccan has an amazing post about the erasure of this whole family’s ethnic identity in the fox x-men films (x).
@villyns also has a good post outlining some examples of the mcu white washing rather than actually fixing the problem (x).
and here’s a decent article on white washing in media and why it’s a problem (x), quote from this article below:
Making a movie is not an easy feat; there are many things to take into account and even more people that you have to please, but there are also standards and morals to uphold. Whitewashing, blackface, brownface or yellowface is not just about denying jobs to minority actors, appropriating the stories of these groups, perpetuating stereotypes or keeping them invisible, it is about undermining their value as human beings and turning them into stepping stones, props, for white artists.
as for the second part. i think that’s entirely possible, actually. it’s done a lot to characters, where they won’t explicitly state their ethnicity but give them attributes from one (often stereotypes) and make them a caricature without making it, like i said, explicit. take the concept of jewish-coded villains in media. no one from disney has ever said that mother gothel in tangled is jewish, but it’s been pointed out by everyone that she’s jewish coded through stereotypes, ones specifically often used for “evil” witch-type characters, which is no coincidence: large, hooked nose, curly hair, greedy, etc. edit: hollywood uses coding like this often for racial/ethnic groups and the lgbtq+ community.
the maximoffs in the mcu and xmcu have never been explicitly made romani, with disney going so far as to change their parents romani names (django and marya) to oleg and irina. the name changes were unnecessary, except to distance the maximoffs from their original romani identity. the mcu changed their origins stories and cast non-romani actors to portray the maximoffs, and considering they went as far as to remove their jewish heritage as i mentioned before, it’s not a stretch that this is all an attempt to veil their romani background too. while they often joke about stealing and fortune tellers and poverty (the wv halloween episode really put it all in one place, but they’ve been doing it forever in the xmcu and mcu), i wouldn’t say this is an attempt to make them romani as much as it is to use a romani-esque caricature, to use it as a sort of “aesthetic” for the twins without acknowledging that it’s an ethnicity. the aspects they choose to keep are often either negative or painted in a negative light. i think the fact that el*zabeth ols*en continuously uses the g-slur to talk about wanda and costume design, speaks to that.
and even if the mcu came out and said, “oh, our wanda is romani,” that wouldn’t change the fact that she’s played by a non-romani actress (who continues to use anti-romani slurs, despite knowing she shouldn’t) and that so far, they have not explicitly stated in the mcu that she is.
from gavia baker-whitelaw’s article:
Wanda and Pietro's whitewashing feels like an attempt to "neutralize" them. It frames their ethnicity as a problem to be avoided, rather than an opportunity to celebrate an under-represented group. This also meant that Marvel could cast famous white actors instead of sourcing an unknown Romani actor, during a period when the MCU was visibly uninterested in racial diversity.
But Marvel Studios wanted to have its cake and eat it, too. While Wanda is now white and Sokovian, her role isn't completely divorced from its Romani origins. It can't be, because everything in the MCU is informed by the comics. That's how we end up with El*zabeth Ols*n describing her Age of Ultron costume as "kind of this g*psy, vagabond feel"—terms that usually wouldn't come to mind for a simple black minidress and maroon jacket. Wanda's Romani heritage remains visible through veiled references and superficial costume choices, sidestepping any hint of meaningful representation.
from jessica reidy’s article:
Today, some Roma do call themselves witches, and serve as healers and spell-casters in a community, but make no mistake, being a witch is a job like any other. I was trained by my grandmother, I studied hard, I started a business, and I take bookings in my Google calendar. This is the context that most people miss when creating (or, in this case, adapting) Romani witch characters like Wanda Maximoff, and while the Scarlet Witch has plenty of magic, she does not need to fall into the stereotype, nor have her identity erased.
Representation matters. Wanda’s Romani ethnicity has been well-stated in the comic books, sometimes capturing the discrimination and violence that Roma face, and other times falling flat and stereotypical. Marvel also owes us, as Roma are often rendered as mentally unstable thieves, such as Dr. Doom, Wanda and Pietro’s community, and Wanda herself, and the entertainment giant capitalizes off of these stereotypes, reinforcing them all the while.
Every opportunity we get for accurate and positive representation is essential to us because it shapes the way people understand us.
linking the post i made again, because it has a list of articles and posts i’d recommend really taking the time to look through and engaging with them, as well as following folks like jessica reidy and @scarlet--wiccan on social media for more info from romani folks.

Randomness that I'm putting in an ask so that you can reply with randomness.
RB OC Halloween Costumes!
Apprentice: Math Teacher. No, seriously, he dresses as his former profession. Just walks to Morocco one day in khakis and a collared shirt. Morocco, naturally, hates it.
SG!Morocco: The Phantom of the Opera. After all, a bit of his own face is missing (and replaced with steampunk tech) so why not?
Chief's lackey: Probably as a janitor. All he'd have to do is get a mop, I guess.
SG!Madeline: Either Jessica Rabbit but more modest or Harley Quinn (the original). She likes the older cartoons and the past, unlike Canon Madeline who is all FUTURE FUTURE FUTURE (I think?).
SG!Priscilla: The Scarlet Witch, probably (back when Wanda was the Scarlet Witch. Do you know Super Hero Squad? Before I went on my mother's religon route and became polytheistic, I used to love that show. Very kiddy, though).
Cardinal, a fanchild OC of Quarry and Chickadee I literally came up with (Cardinal is a type of bird and a name for the Cardinal directions (which are north, south, east, and west), because yes): Probably as a cardinal bird or a centaur.
How about yours?
Oh, man... I really haven't thought of that yet.
But for what I have little planned, I'll use some Street Fight, Mortal Combat, and some Nintendo game costumes for the kiddos.
Movie references like Terminator, Predator, and some Slasher for the adults.
Like... There is literally a character in Street Fighter named Cody and...

Character/Movie List
Below is movies and TV shows I like personally and are lsited as a reference. If you don't see something you're interested in, it is not that I don't like it, it is because I most likely forgot it because I love so many movies/shows tbh. Just ask, and I'll answer! And, from the Rules and Regulations page, what I had meant by "mostly" is that I can dabble outside of the acting world and into actors/actresses themselves and/or singers, popstars, etc.

Avengers: The Children’s Crusade (Part 4)
Tumblr media
After a number of discussions about where Wanda (and Vision) are likely to appear post Multiverse of Madness in the MCU, a lot of rumors and ‘leaks’ are pointing to a likely Young Avengers Children’s Crusade adaptation. I’ve not read the run in some time, and decided to refresh myself and do a breakdown of it for those not familiar with the story. I’ll be including my commentary about how I think they could adapt this for the MCU.
This series of posts WILL HAVE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS SPOILERS. If you have seen MoM or don’t mind, feel free to keep scrolling. It will also obviously have spoilers for the comic stories Avengers Disassembled, House of M, and Children’s Crusade.
PART ONE - Background Info from The Vision and The Scarlet Witch (1985) and Vision Quest, Avengers Disassembled, and House of M
PART TWO -   New Avengers #26, X-Men #204, Young Avengers Presents #3, and The Mighty Avengers #21-34
PART THREE - Avengers: The Children’s Crusade #1-5
This section will explore the second half of The Children’s Crusade arc in detail.
You can find a complete listing of my Comic Breakdown posts HERE.
Avengers: The Children’s Crusade #6-9
Tumblr media
Issue #6 picks up with Wanda remembering her past. She explains how she blamed the Avengers for taking her sons away, and how she had wanted them to suffer loss the way she had.
Tumblr media
Hawkeye, The Beast, and Jessica Jones are here to help though, and discuss what is happening. I appreciate the throw back to New Avengers #26 again, and the reactions to what happened.
Tumblr media
They watch and prepare for an attack, then realize the Ultron Bots and Kree she summoned are not attacking the Young Avengers and friends - they are attacking Wanda.
Tumblr media
Billy asks someone to help him get up to talk to Wanda, since his own powers are still missing and he can’t fly. Cassie helps him out, and Wiccan tries to calm Wanda down by telling her her friends and Vision are alive, and he believes he and Tommy may be her sons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wanda believes him, and they share a tearful hug. Tommy is less happy about this, stating that even if she is their mother it doesn’t change what she did or the fact that she’s still wanted for her crimes, meaning she will just disappear again now that they’ve found her. Wanda tells him he is right, but it means the Young Avengers did their job and that she is proud of them.
Tumblr media
The Avengers reach out and make contact, and they have Wonder Man and Pietro with them. They tell those at the Mansion to keep Wanda there until they arrive, and Wanda beleives they are going to kill her and that she deserves it. Clint says they won’t do that, and Beast once again brings up the idea that maybe Wanda can undo what happened. He suggests all former Mutants should have the choice if they want their powers back or to remain normal, and that they need a group to test this on.
Tumblr media
They meet with X-Factor, a group of Mutants composed of Shatterstar, Multiple Man, STrong Guy, and Rictor. They aren’t so keen on the plan, and mention Pietro’s own failed attempts to use Terrigen Crystals (stolen from the Inhumans) to restore Mutants that lead to the deaths of those involved. They tell Wanda as soon as the Mutant communities learn she’s alive they’ll be coming for her blood. The X-Factor team are about to leave when Rictor says he is willing to be a test subject.
Tumblr media
And - the spell works! 1 Mutant down, 1 Million to go, give or take. Wanda laments that she doesn’t know how to find them all, and the idea that she can use Cerebro is brought up. Only...that means she’ll have to face the X-Men who are not a fan of The Scarlet Witch.
Rictor says he’ll put in a good word for her, but there are still doubts the X-Men will agree to this plan. And lucky for them, the X-Men are already outside to meet her. The Avengers arrive first though, and this time they decide to defend Wanda.
Tumblr media
The Young Avengers, X-Factor, and Wanda emerge from the Mansion and Rictor is able to calm everyone down by announcing Wanda gave him his powers back and that they have a plan. Wanda finally reunites with Quicksilver and Magneto, and she tells the Avengers she takes full responsibility for what happened, but she wants to try to fix things before they lock her away.
Tumblr media
Scott Summers (Cyclops) doesn’t agree and says the Avengers don’t get to negotiate on behalf of Mutant-kind. Magneto tells him to back off, but Wanda tells him she’ll go with the X-Men. As predicted, Magneto isn’t a fan of that plan and the fighting breaks out again. Emma Frost triest to use her abilities to get Wiccan and Speed to go with her, and Wanda doesn’t like that much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wanda’s magic knocks out all of the X-Men attacking them and she teleports the Young Avengers...back to Castle Doom. Doom is waiting, and Wanda tells him things have gotten a bit complicated. The YA crew seem suspicious about this turn of events.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wiccan suspects Doom was controlling Wanda from the beginning, amplifying her powers to allow her to manipulate reality the way she has but Wanda denies this and once again takes full repsonsibility. She confirms she now remembers everything, and fills us in with how things got to this point.
Tumblr media
(Spectral’s Commentary: It doesn’t specify when Wanda went to Doom seeking help, but I would assume this was after her memories of the boys were returned just prior to Avengers Disassembled)
With everyone filled in on what happened, Wanda asks Doom why he didn’t tell her when he found her with amnesia. He replies he couldn’t risk loosing her, and implies he does have feelings for The Scarlet Witch. Wanda aks him to help her reverse all of this, and Doom agrees.
Tumblr media
Patriot has concerns about this, considering Doom is a known super villian, and Wanda tells him he’s right to be worried and that Wiccan will be their back up plan. Billy reminds the team he doesn’t have his powers, and Doom tells him he does, the spell only made him think he didn’t and removes it.
Wanda plans to jump ahead in her plan and try to restore the powers of ALL Mutants, with the help of Wiccan and Doom’s magical abilities to amplify hers. Once again Patriot thinks this is a bad idea and tries to convince the rest of the Young Avengers to help him stop them, but they decline. Patriot decides he’ll do things himself then and steals Kate’s bow to fire and incidiary arrow at Wanda, and hits her.
Tumblr media
It stops the spell, and Wanda tells them she can’t feel the lifeforce of the Mutants anymore. Then Doom tells everyone not to worry, and we see him without his mask, his burns miraculously healed.
Issue #8 explains Wanda’s power to alter reality was transferred to Doom when the spell was interrupted. He claims he’ll only use these new-found powers for good (sure Victor, sure.)
Tumblr media
Doom (Ahem Victor) goes on to tell Wanda he can’t reverse her spell because that is impossible - but he can cast a new one. He promises the Mutants will lack for nothing in the new world he is going to create. Kate doesn’t seem convinced, calling him a dictator and Wanda agrees, not because she doubts his intentions but because that kind of power corrupts anyone who wields it.
Tumblr media
Victor seems less convinced, arguing that he’ll prove his ability to lead and the world will simply agree with him. Wanda counters again, saying that maybe the world will - but the Avengers and the X-Men will not. Doom isn’t worried about that, believing the two groups will fight amongst themselves and remove the problem entirely. He offers his help to the Young Avengers however, and once again asks Wanda to marry him.
Tumblr media
She gives him an ultimatum and Doom’s true colours come out (shocking). He simply teleports Wanda and the YA team back home, hoping that the X-Men and Avengers will start fighthing again and kill her themselves.
Iron Lad suggests they once again jump into the time stream to escape and Jonas!Vision argues that won’t fix it. He tells Iron Lad that sounds like something Kang would do (there has been tension over Cassie Lang between these boys for a bit and this plays into the argument). Cassie breaks it up and says she and the others need to stay here, but Wanda tells them they should go.
Tumblr media
Everyone starts taking the blame for this mess (except Tommy), which allows the X-Men to attack. Emma Frost knocks Wanda out and reads her mind, confirming Wanda no longer has her powers or the ability to restore the mutant population. Magneto tries to convince the other X-Men that Doom is responsible, but Cyclops is still adamant Wanda needs to be brought to justice. Tommy jumps in here, wanting to know what they think they can do to her:
Tumblr media
Spectral’s Commentary: I appreciate the comic addressing this, since it’s such a big topic I see regarding MCU Wanda and what has happened. While she should be held accountable, Speed is making some good points - how do you punish someone with her level of power?
When the idea of just letting her go comes up, Wiccan reminds the X-Men that they made Magneto a member of their team despite everything he had done, as well as Emma Frost, Rogue, and Gambit. They also bring up Wonder Man, Ant-Man, and Vision’s own origins as villains. It’s a good speech.
Tumblr media
Doom shows up at this point, all glowing and white light and he tells everyone she deserves forgivness and that he will set things right. (Spectral’s Commentary: He also mentions that Wanda allowed herself to be posessed by The Power of Creation itself when trying to save her son’s lives which is...an interesting take on her abilities. Wanda and what she can do has been changed *so* many times in canon but the idea that she doesn’t have the ability to do this naturally is odd to me, since I’m more familiar with the post Uncanny Avengers Vol 2 retcons.)
Victor tells everyone he can give them everything they have ever wished for, or nothing at all. They just have to accept him as this god-like ruler of everything. Naturally, this doesn’t go over well.
Tumblr media
The newly resurrected Ant-Man (Scott Lang) flies up on one of his ant-friends to fight, and Doom presumably kills him (again). This makes Cassie mad so she jumps into the fight, and the Young Avengers go after her. While this is happening Wanda and Wiccan try to recast the spell that was interrupted earlier.
Tumblr media
Victor falls for the trap and with the portal open he starts to absorb more of the power, only as Wanda predicted he can’t control it. It burns him and he returns to his previous state, once again disfigured and angry at Wanda. He tells her she was nothing to him and leaves her to her fate with the X-Men and Avengers.
Tumblr media
In the aftermath, Scott Lang returns to the group, still alive...only to find Cassie dead.
Tumblr media
Iron Lad says he can take her into the time stream and prevent this from happening, but Jonas!Vision tells him it’s too late and to leave here here, with her father. Nathanial takes his anger out on Jonas!Vision, in a fight that is very similar to fights that took place between the original Vision and Wonder Man back in the day.
Tumblr media
Iron Lad ends up ‘killing’ Jonas!Vision, and with him out of the way he tells the Young Avengers he’s taking Cassie with him and leaving. The Avengers tell him he can’t do that, and the other Young Avengers refuse to go with him. We’re left with this very ominous panel that I’m sure will come back to haunt everyone in a few issues.
Tumblr media
Wanda holds Jonas!Vision’s head and yet again, they try to convince us he’s the same Vision. (Spectral’s Commentary: Despite not having any interractions between him and Wanda in this entire 9-issue story. Ugh. This is why Jonas annoys me so much.) Everyone decides to just blame Doom for this mess.
Tumblr media
Cyclops doesn’t like it but he agrees that Wiccan and Speed’s argument is right - Wanda’s death wouldn’t accomplish anything. He decides it’s better to allow her to live and try to make up for what she did, knowing she can never achieve that. With that the X-Men depart. Captain America tells Wanda “Once and Avenger, always an Avenger.”
Tumblr media
Wanda isn’t so sure, and Simon approaches her. He gives her a hug, and tells her she’s better on her own and she should be with her family - and that he’ll always be there for her. Magneto tries to get her and Pietro to agree to a family trip, and Wanda declines that too. She wants to be alone to figure out what that means first.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We move into the epilogue where the Young Avengers discuss what to do next. The first order of business is to rebuild Jonas!Vision, but Kate disagrees, arguing that it would be cruel to bring him back with Cassie gone.
Tumblr media
Patriot also decides he’s going to step down, blaming himself for preventing the Mutants of the world from regaining their powers when he interrupted the spell the first time. Kate Bishop also decides she is going to leave, stating that she failed as team leader on this mission and blaming herself. This blame-circle continues with Billy piping up.
Tumblr media
It leaves just Tommy and Teddy, and Teddy reminds Speed he could use this as a chance to finally have a normal life. Tommy is less convinced.
Tumblr media
We jump forward a few months to find Tommy, Billy, and Teddy together watching the news. Billy seems depressed, and Teddy decides he’s had enough. He ends up proposing though (awwwww).
Tumblr media
Whilte they are making out after, Carol shows up and tells them Cap needs to speak with them at the Mansion ASAP. The Avengers thank them for doing all the things they failed to do - finding Wanda, stoping a fight with the X-Men, and defeating Doom, and we end with them being made official Avengers and revealing the statue built to honor their fallen friends.
Tumblr media
Spectral’s Commentary: So there we have it, the Children’s Crusade! I can see why there is a lot of speculation we’ll be seeing this in the MCU. I think it would make for a good Young Avengers movie or series, expecially since in the MCU right now all of the YA characters have been introduced except Teddy, and I’m almost certain he’ll be introduced in either Secret Invasion or the Marvels.
If I were to do this, I would replace Jonas!Vision with White Vision. He and the Young Avengers go looking for the Scarlet Witch who has been missing since Multiverse of Madness. While she’s ‘presumed’ dead, Strange and Wong didn’t seem to think that at the end of the film and the nature of her final scenes is very much open to bring her back in. We also know MCU is going to give us Fantastic Four, and that usually means Doom. What better way to introduce Doom than have our heros travel to Latveria and find Wanda there? Vision, Wiccan, and Speed reunited with The Scarlet Witch, and all of them ‘remembering’. It would fulfill the ideas WandaVision set up with “family is forever” and let Wanda and Vision say “Hello” again.
I hope anyone who’s made it through these posts has enjoyed them! I’ll be returning to my White Vision re-read when I have time, and if there are any story arcs people would be interested in me doing like this feel free to send me an ask!

Thoughts on WandaVision by a non-Marvel fan
As someone who had only seen a single Marvel movie (The Avengers) and only watched Jessica Jones season 1 for David Tennant (while hating nearly every other character in it), which had none of these characters, I only watched WandaVision precisely because it dared to break the mold and be even remotely ambitious instead of doing the same old CGI cartoon fest over and over. And somewhat because of what Marvel has done to the film industry, television has completely and utterly overtaken film as where emotional, dramatic storytelling now happens.
And okay, I happen to have had a major TVLand addiction growing up and binged a ton of the shows referenced in WandaVision long ago (yep, those very same '50s-'80s sitcoms). I couldn't pass up the retro. Love at first sight. Combine that with what promised to be a tragic, human/non-human romance. Sold. I knew little else about the characters.
For a long time, I've seen female fans (in particular) comment on how part of the reason they write fanfiction for Marvel is that they have to read between the lines just to add the implied dramatic content of the relationship focus variety that never quite gets developed in canon (certainly not up to the standard of what a fic reader expects). I saw a few comments that pretty much described WandaVision as exactly that: a fix-it fanfic before tragic reality invaded Pleasantville. Wanda's whole Hex was essentially a glorified fix-it fanfic.
For this reason alone, I can only hope the success of WandaVision gets them to create a season 2 that is dedicated solely to Wanda trying to put her family (Vision) back together that does the tragic romance justice in a way that giving them side parts in other people's movies just isn't going to cut it.
I feel like Vision's ultimate resurrection or even Wanda's struggle with her grief is better left to her own headline story, whether be it film or television. Television is the only medium that is going to allow the actors to really sink their teeth into this sort of star-crossed, tragic drama and not have it relegated to a minor side-character plot. Either give Wanda and Vision their own movie (hopefully, with heightened focus on character development as a lesson learned from television) or wait to integrate the mind and body of Vision in another season that gives both of them center stage with room to develop it.
Them having their twins for real might also be worth a season 2 in a way that probably wouldn't even work on film, as showing such a feminine pregnancy storyline would be a helluva departure for a Marvel movie that goes from action set piece to action set piece.
I wouldn't even hate it if Wanda's sitcom comfort zone made a few more appearances, even if it is merely the occasional domestic fantasy or dream/nightmare, so there is a way to not completely divorce a potential season 2 from season 1's "gimmick". It could be merely as simple as her pointedly doing something Sam/Jeannie-esque with her magic. Cooking with floating kitchen items would be an easy nod.
Probably not what Marvel is thinking of doing, but as a non-Marvel fan, WandaVision has a real opportunity to pull in new viewers with very different tastes that have so far managed to give the films a wide berth. It would do so much better as a show.
Go the route of giving these characters their own headlined projects and Marvel could have a real juggernaut of a 'ship, as well. My impression was that WandaVision got a lot of fans talking about the characters and their relationship in a way that the previous films and comics had not; some even making comments they had barely paid attention to the characters before the show.
IMO, the mere character descriptions sound like some of the most interesting and fleshed-out characters Marvel has got right now with real opportunity for real dramatic depth. And that's putting aside that Scarlet Witch is one of the most powerful characters on the entire Marvel roster. Making a whole television season about a character going through the stages of grief and about a woman who just wants the family she lost back (a woman who desperately wants a husband and children, no less) was very different territory for Marvel. Human/non-human, in addition to having the level of doom that makes tragedies very, very memorable.
There's tropey drama potential there that hasn't been mined with the non-human who becomes more and more "human" (it's the stuff of fairy tales and sci-fi both). Hayward or someone like him could easily be used as a character who doesn't see Vision as equal to humans, for example. Delve into the sort of existential questions about artificial life achieving consciousness no less feeling than a human's that stories like Data on Star Trek, Blade Runner and Bicentennial Man pose. That species difference without the magic of sitcoms could be mined for a gorgeously dramatic plotline. What it means to be human explored through the non-human--one of my favorite tropes.
And of course, it's the stuff of fairy tales--most notably Pinocchio (the once-inanimate learning to and desiring to become real by proving himself worthy and because it fulfills the greatest wish of the person who loves them most), combined with the interspecies romance elements of The Little Mermaid (tragic ending or not--see also the desperate acts taken to achieve this cosmically-denied togetherness, only for such a tragic ending to come of it in the original work).
Given that the MCU movies just lost a bunch of their A-listers, they need something big like this. Marvel needs philosophical and character-driven meat on its meager dramatic bones. Here are two actors who could carry something more ambitious and pick up an entirely different audience. Marvel could get an even bigger female audience with these two, IMO. And it wouldn't be cheap girl power pandering either (I say this as a girl). These characters are legit with incredibly warm, likable, endearing performances behind them. This chemistry works 100%.
I think White Vision having an existential crisis where he's questioning what he is if he has all the memories of a being who clearly can feel every human emotion (the idea that we are our memories), but at the same time knowing that he's only artificial life, would be an interesting lead-up to Vision being fully restored with his full consciousness in addition to the added memories of what he experienced inside the Hex.
A restored Vision would have to reconcile what Wanda did in her grief over him and her family. It's also a glimpse at the life Wanda wants with him, which included something that isn't biologically possible, though it likely is through her own abilities of creation. There's also the idea of balance that he's the one who might hold her back from the brink of going down any further dark paths as a figure of ordered stability for her, while she is key in the chaos of his becoming more "human". The to-be parenthood story is obviously hanging over them.
The situation with Hayward intending for White Vision to remain a mere machine that can be manipulated and used as a weapon in a way that an independently-thinking Vision can't be is also a path to go down. As I said, there's a potential storyline about prejudice regarding artificial intelligence, even if it has all the emotional capability of humans.
And on top of that, Vision is in a relationship with a human, even if it's one who could potentially be the key to restoring his consciousness through her own link with the original Mind Stone. It also furthers Wanda's role as a mother and creator if she can give him back his life in this way. While the heroic Avengers might not question them being "an unusual couple", who says everyone else would be so kind?
I really think he needs to be brought back. Wanda desperately needs him for her story to continue.

Part 26
Cormery Isle, Cordonia...
"Welcome, your grace." Thurston bowed while kissing Olivia's hand. "It has been some time since we have been fortunate enough to host the Duchess of Lythikos."
"Yes, it has." She focused her attention to the two young ladies beside him and smiled. "And how are the ladies of Cormery Isle?"
"We are--" Blair began.
"Awful." Arabella interrupted. "That's why I asked for you to come."
                                                                                                                        "What's this?" Thurston asked.
"Bella, I don't want you worrying about--" Blair's voice cracked causing her to take a stuttering breath to regain her calm.
"You're my sister!" Arabella snapped. "I'm not about to let that witch take away your chance at happiness." She returned her sharp-eyed gaze to Olivia, the very duchess who had stepped up to be a mentor when her mother died. "Remember the promise you made me?"
"I do." Olivia replied. "That's why I'm here instead of Ramsford."
Thurston, still perplexed, waved toward his study. "Perhaps we should take this discussion somewhere a bit more private."
With a regal nod, the scarlet duchess led the way inside.
"See that we are not disturbed." The earl whispered to his butler. "Especially by my son."
With an ominous click, the door shut in the bewildered servant's face.

St Orella, Cordonia...
The ballroom was filled with extras, dressed in Regency Era clothing, dancing the Cordonian Waltz.
Amanda sat beside Thomas with a set of headphones on. Her eyes were glued to the screen in front of them as they watched and listened to Chris (as Reginald) and Jessica (as Elizabeth) speak their lines all while keeping up with the dance steps. Ryan (as Arthur) was waiting on his cue to make a dramatic entrance.
"I was unaware he was returning." Elizabeth insisted. "I haven't spoken to Lord Arthur since he was sent away."
Reginald clinched his jaw. Wanting to believe the woman he was set to marry and was now losing his heart to warred with his suspicion over the man his intended had once been involved with.
Elizabeth blinked back tears. She couldn't stand to see the man whose kindness and gentle humor she had grown accustomed to being replaced with such self-doubt. Knowing it was frowned upon for a lady to initiate such,  yet needing to show him that he was the one winning her heart, she captured his lips in an achingly tender kiss.
Reginald tightened his arms around her as he sank into her embrace. His lips curved against hers when he heard her slight gasp when he kissed her again.
A throat cleared beside them.
Arthur's face was unreadable as he spoke with little inflection. "Time to switch partners."
He took Elizabeth in his arms and waltzed off with her.
"Arthur!" Elizabeth shrieked when he swung her outside to the courtyard. "What do you think you are doing?!"
"I thought I was doing what any man would do after being reunited with the woman who claimed to love him." He cornered her against the balustrade. "I didn't expect you to find another so soon."
Elizabeth glared at him. "The Queen arranged my betrothal to Sir Reginald."
"Ah," his eyes narrowed. "And you took it upon yourself to make him feel so loved."
"You left me!" She cried out. "Without a word or a promise! I had to obey her. She is my guardian and I--"
Arthur grasped her arms and shook her. "I left you my heart! How quickly you dismissed it is yet to be discovered." His hooded eyes dropped to her mouth. "Perhaps you need a reminder of what was once between us."
"No--" she pushed against his chest when he slammed his mouth on hers.
"Unhand her!" Reginald ripped Arthur away.
Elizabeth fell back against the balustrade, anxiously looking from one man to the other.
"She is not yours." Arthur informed him. "She never will be as long as there is breath in my body."                                                                                                                                                                Reginald's voice had a deadly edge that Elizabeth had never heard before. "She is the woman I am going to marry. Blessed and given to me by the Queen." Reginald’s gaze softened for a moment when he turned toward Elizabeth. "You sir, have no rights to my intended." He continued.
"I claim the rights of her heart." Arthur countered. "Before I was sent away, she let it be known that I was what she wanted." His typical, confident smirk formed. "Looks like you are too late to win such."
Elizabeth's heart ached when Reginald seemed to falter at Arthur's arguments.
Their eyes met and she saw all the uncertainty he suffered with.
He had done everything he knew to do to win her love. She knew that he did not have to make such an effort when she was already promised to marry him. Knowing he did so because he cared for her and their future made her long to be with him.
She then focused on the man she had first loved. Arthur had opened her eyes to how deep that emotion could be. It was an almost desperate love, one filled with passion and need. How could she even contemplate another's attentions when he had laid his heart at her feet?
Her eyes continued to flicker back and forth between the two. With a cry of frustration, she gathered her skirts and ran blindly through the ballroom.
Her closest confidante, Lady Marija, followed her. She stopped the fleeing duchess at the foot of the stairs.
"Liza! Wait!" She gently grasped her friend's hands. "You're trembling. What happened?"
"Oh Marija." She swiped at the tears falling, "What am I to do?" She buried her face against her friend's shoulder. "Arthur has returned and Reginald thinks I do not love him and..."
Marija listened while looking back behind her for the men they were discussing. Her own face revealed how much this hurt her for her dearest friend and the two gentlemen…especially Lord Arthur. "Who do you love?"
Elizabeth straightened her posture and shook her head. "I love them both. Somehow, they each made me fall in love with them." Her blue eyes shimmered with her tears in the candlelight. "What am I to do?"
Marija stepped back. For once in her life, she was determined to see what future was about to be laid before them. "Liza, who can you see yourself married to? Having children with?"
Elizabeth turned her gaze to the two men standing in the ballroom. Her heart raced with the thought of having a home with only one.
“Reginald. He is the only man I can see having a life with.” Elizabeth’s tearful smile appeared. “Oh Marija, I love him with my entire heart.”
 "Cut!" Thomas yelled out.
Amanda removed the headphones and quickly wiped the tears that had come to her own eyes. This part of her ancestor's story had always hurt her.
Perhaps it was because she had known what it was like to love one and fall in love with another. The doubt about one's own heart if it fell too quickly and so easily for another. Worrying you might hurt the one you now claimed to love.
"What do you think?" Thomas asked, as Addison hurried to repair a tear in one of the extra's dresses.
"It's incredible." Amanda replied. "Seeing it brought to life is just..." She searched for a tissue to wipe the stray tears. "I can't imagine it done any other way."
He pressed a kiss to the top of her head, pleased she approved of how he handled this scene and yelled out to set up for the next one.
"Where are you going?" He asked when she eased out of her chair.
A slight blush formed on her cheeks. "I know it sounds silly, but I'm going to the portrait gallery." Her eyes dropped to the floor. "I need a reminder that she ended up with her happily ever after with Reginald."
Before he had a chance to say anything more, she turned on her heel and left the ballroom.

Cormery Isle, Cordonia...
"You want Tariq for a husband?" Thurston asked.
"I love him, Father." Blair admitted. "I always have. Knowing how highly you and mother thought of him made my feelings even more right."
"And that's why we have to get rid of Lauren." Arabella explained. "After closely spying on her these past couple of weeks, I have discovered that she is secretly pursuing Neville. Though, thankfully our brother no longer pays her any attention."
"What?!" Blair screeched. "She is using the man I love and my brother?!"
Thurston's expression hardened to one of cold hatred. "That interloper has no idea the enemy she has just made."
"You're not the only one." Olivia remarked. "Lauren Benefield tried to end Amanda Bridgerton's marriage to Thomas Hunt. She has incurred not only my wrath for going after my friend but those of Prince Liam and House Beaumont."
"So, you will help us?" Arabella asked, hope tinging her voice. "I knew you would!"
"I would have regardless because of my promise to you as your mentor." Olivia corrected. "I'm merely letting you know how those of us who know Lauren truly feel." Her green eyes leveled on Lord Thurston. "And I believe you, sir, especially hold ill will toward her after going after Amanda."
"Indeed." His deep voice rumbled with his mounting anger. "Our family owes a debt to hers."
"Lady Amanda saved me from embarrassing myself during my first ball at the palace." Blair added.
"She did?" Thurston leaned forward. "You never told me that."
Blair's cheeks heated when all eyes turned to her. "When I was leaving the powder room, I was too excited to return to the ballroom and did not check my dress. Lady Amanda was coming in as I was exiting and smiled at me. She then grabbed my arm and pulled me back inside. The back of my dress had gotten caught in my pantyhose."
"Your bottom was showing?!" Thurston softly cursed then apologized to the ladies. "You would have been the laughingstock of the entire court had she not saved you."
Blair nodded. "If I had known that this woman Neville and Tariq had brought home was treating Amanda so horribly, I would have likely poisoned her tea."
"Tempting." Olivia remarked. "We have all been tempted to do that." She stood and paced before them. “What I am about to say cannot leave this room.”
When each nodded, she continued. “I will be leaving tomorrow evening for Monterisso to speak with Queen Amalas.”
“The spy queen!” Thurston sputtered. “Whatever for?”
“There have been some discoveries of Ms. Benefield’s activities along with those of Viktor Montmarte. With what I already uncovered and anticipate in finding, I suggest you do all you can to distance yourselves from this actress.”
“Activities?” Blair repeated. “What has she—”
“No.” Thurston gently cut off his daughter. “If Lady Olivia insists that the less we know the better off we will be, then I will not question her.”
“A wise decision.” Olivia added. “What you need to focus on is finding a way for Tariq to break off the engagement. I would also suggest keeping Neville from her in case she tries to trap him in some sort of scandal.” Her eyes narrowed. “Things will only get worse once the wheels of vengeance are in motion.”
"I've been thinking of a way to do that, especially since Tariq has been spending more time with Blair." Arabella added. "I think he is seeing how horrible Lauren is when compared to how sweet Blair is to him."
Her sister blushed even more.
Thurston actually smiled seeing his daughter look as her late mother did when he courted her. "If Tariq is who your heart is set on, then he is the man you shall have."
"Father! Thank you!" Blair rushed over to hug him and kiss his cheek. "Nothing would make me happier than marrying him."
He gently patted her cheek. "I would be proud to call him my son." He stood up and was once again stern, roiling with anger. "I agree with her grace." He paced before them. "The only way your brother and Tariq will get over this actress is by showing them what she truly is."
"Blair’s birthday is in a few days.” Arabella pointed out. “We usually start the day with an early morning horseback ride.” Her brow furrowed in thought. “I had planned on somehow getting Lauren to lose that sweet act she tries to maintain in front of everyone.”
"Very good." Olivia smiled at her. "Nothing to make a person more vulnerable than out in the wilderness."
The young lady beamed with pride over her mentor's words and her father's proud smile.
"It can also be a way to show Tariq what a proper lady Blair is." He added.
"Once Lauren’s engagement is broken, Liam has a plan in place to remove her from our country." Olivia informed them. "Ms. Benefield will no longer find sanctuary in Cordonia.” A smile filled with hints of evil formed. “I wonder where she will try to go. Her home in Hollywood won’t be safe either once my plan is enacted. She has ruined or tried to ruin the lives of many people within the motion picture industry and those who have inherited wealth. No one will be willing to help her."
"To go after the Duchess and her Duke of St Orella, and two of Cordonia's Lords should be enough to ruin her in the eyes of the world." Thurston grumbled. "She should never have attacked Cordonia's finest."
"I agree." Olivia rose from her chair. "With your permission, I would like to stay here until my flight tomorrow." Her smile held a great deal of evil intent. "Nothing could bring me greater joy than seeing the one who dared to cross my friend begin her downfall."
Arabella entwined her arm with Olivia's. "You are more than welcome to, and I hope you also participate in it. Vengeance is a dish best shared."

Later that evening, Cormery Isle...
"Neville!" Lauren chased after him as he began his descent downstairs.
He braced himself and turned toward her. "Yes?"
She forced a flirtatious smile on her face. "We haven't had a chance to speak privately." She pouted in a way she knew most men couldn't resist and trailed a finger down the buttons of his shirt. "I think we have a few things that need to be thoroughly discussed." She leaned in close to let her lips brush his ear. "Explore how things should be between us."
He jerked away from her. "I think we have said all that needs to be said."
Her eyes narrowed when he turned his back on her and continued downstairs.
"What about your proposal?" She called out. "I bet my fiancé would be interested in hearing that his so-called best friend insisted I call off my engagement and marry him instead."
Neville froze on the stairs. The glare he sent over his shoulder normally caused commoners to tremble, yet she met it with a defiant smile.
"The proposal is no longer on the table." He informed her. Deciding to punish her for her empty threat, his lips curved at his next sentence. "You didn't call it off when I asked you to, therefore I have moved on to more attractive prospects."
Her eyes widened. "What?! But you said--"
He turned his back once more on her, calmly continuing down to dinner.
As he turned the corner, he heard her frustrated screech.
"What on earth--oh it's you." Arabella appeared on the stairs. "I could have sworn I heard a cat being tortured somewhere."
Enraged already with the Vancoeur's, Lauren tried to slap the teenager.
Instead she ended up raising a hand to her own stinging cheek.
Arabella stepped closer to her; eyes narrowed. "Is there something you want to say to me?"
"You slapped me!" Lauren gasped.
"You were about to slap me." She reminded her. "Now you know how foolish it is to try."
"You little bitch, I’ll beat--"
 "Is there a problem?"
Both looked up at Olivia.
"Is there?" Arabella asked Lauren.
Knowing she was no match for the two of them, she shook her head. "No."
"I didn't think so." Olivia chided. She smiled warmly at Arabella. "I see you kept up with the lessons I taught you."
"Of course, I did." She replied smugly.
The two noble ladies laughed and walked off, leaving the stunned actress fuming in their wake.
Lauren gripped the banister, her mind whirling with plans of revenge for the noble family.
“Ms. Benefield? Is anything wrong?” Blair asked, pausing beside her.
“You.” Lauren hissed. “Do you think I don’t see what you and your sister are doing.”
Blair remained calm. “Doing?”
The actress moved quickly, twisting a hand in Blair’s hair, giving it a vicious jerk.
Blair’s stubbornness refused to allow her to cry out. Her eyes narrowed with unshed tears as she spoke in a commanding tone that every noble possessed. “Let me go. NOW.”
“Don’t think I am going to allow these childish games of yours to ruin my engagement to Tariq.” She tightened her hold on the younger woman. “I see how you look at him. Your little crush will end. He’s mine. He and this life you all live will be mine.” She smiled at her. “If you try anything, you and your sister will face my vengeance.” She pressed a kiss to her cheek. “And you cannot begin to imagine what I will do to you.”
She let her go and continued to the dining room.
Blair waited until she was no longer able to see her then slowly dropped down, trembling, to sit on the stairs. She wiped her eyes and tried to compose herself.
She was more determined than ever to see this woman destroyed.
“Blair?”
She looked up with a start. “Tariq!” She struggled to her feet. “Did you—”
“I heard everything.” He whispered. “Thank you for warning me.” He swallowed and gently smoothed her hair back. “Seeing her attack each of you, I had to fight myself to keep from trying to intervene.”
She smiled warmly at him. “You’ve always looked out for us.”
His eyes drifted over her face. “Blair, when Lauren said you have a—I mean, do you—”
She nodded. “I do. I always have.” She gripped his hand. “I always will. That’s why I had to tell you what type of woman Lauren is. I know Arabella and Olivia wanted a more dramatic reveal, but I know you. You are not the type of man who would want to cause a scandal when circumstances could be resolved quickly and quietly.”
“You know me better than anyone.” He lifted her hand to his lips. “Thank you.”
She took his arm. “Shall we go to dinner, my lord?”
“Yes.” His tone hardened with what was before him. “Let’s get this evening over with.”

St Orella, Cordonia...
After wrapping up the day's shooting, Thomas searched the downstairs rooms his wife normally could be found in.
"Hudson?" He called out to the butler.
"Yes, your grace?" Hudson paused within the doorway.
"Have you seen my wife?"
"Forgive me, your grace. Lady Amanda said she was retiring early this evening."
"She wasn't ill, was she?" Thomas asked.
"Not that I am aware of, sir."
"Thank you." Thomas locked his notes in the desk drawer of the study and hurried upstairs.
He paused outside their bedroom, unsure if something had upset Amanda earlier.
She had never returned to see the next scene filmed.
He carefully opened the door and stuck his head in.
Amanda looked up from the book she was reading and smiled. "There you are. How did it go?"
His shoulders relaxed as he came in and shut the door. With a few quick strides he eased onto the bed to kiss her.
"It either went very well and you’re here to celebrate or horribly wrong and you now need encouragement." She teased when he pulled her on top of him.
"It went well." He gently caressed her cheek. "What happened earlier? You never came back."
"Nothing, I just had the desire to reread Elizabeth's diary. I wanted to make certain I had gotten her talk with Marija right." Amanda explained. "It always hurt me for her, Reginald, and Arthur to be in such torment during that dance."
His lips eased into a smile. "Everything worked out though. Elizabeth ended up with her true love. Even Arthur was able to find happiness with Marija."
"I know." She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. "Seeing it unfold though, knowing the anguish she felt in that moment by her own words, it just..."
She sighed. "I'm being foolish."
"You aren't." He pulled her down for a kiss. "The scene with her breaking up the duel and choosing Reginald will be one that I know will strike an emotional chord for me."
"Why that one?" Amanda slid off him and laid on her side.
Thomas turned toward her. "Because I know without that moment, you wouldn't be here."
"Thomas." Amanda captured his lips in a deep kiss. "That might be one of the sweetest things you've ever said."
He slipped his arms around her, pulling her flush against him. "Each time I read over that scene; I can't help but think of what my life would be like if you didn't exist."
Her lips curved. "You would have the life you had before we met." She gently ran the back of her fingers along his jaw. "You weren't unhappy."
"That is because I didn't know how happy I could be." He softly kissed her palm. "I was unaware how falling in love with the right person could alter one's life and outlook." He tightened his arms around her. "Now that I do, I intend on never letting you go."
"I knew what could happen if I fell in love with a man who returned my feelings." She whispered. "I just didn't realize how it would feel." She met his lips in a tender embrace. "I didn't know I could love one man with everything within me and find absolute joy in doing so."
"Amanda, if our grandchild, seven generations from now, reads your journal," his eyes met hers, "what type of story would they find?"
She slowly smiled and pressed her forehead to his. "A passionate love story filled with moments of unbridled happiness."

Ka-Zar is Kevin Reginald, Lord Plunder, born in Castle Plunder, Kentish Town, London, England. He is the eldest son of Lord Robert Plunder, the English nobleman who discovered the Savage Land. After his mother had died and his father was killed by the barbaric Man-Ape natives of the Savage Land, Plunder was found and raised by the sabertooth tiger Zabu, who possesses near-human intelligence thanks to a mutation caused by radioactive mists.[4] "Ka-Zar" means "Son of the Tiger" in the language of the Man-Apes. Ka-Zar and Zabu are constant partners. Ka-Zar became an expert hunter, trapper, and fisherman, living off the wild land.
In the Savage Land, some territories are populated by several human or humanoid tribes, and while most of them are on friendly terms with Ka-Zar, some of them consider him an outlander and an enemy. He acts more like an unofficial general protector, preventing outside commercial exploitation, such as poaching and mining, as well as enforcing peace between tribes and serving as goodwill ambassador to friendly visitors.
The original X-Men discovered the Savage Land, and Ka-Zar encountered them, battling Maa-Gor for the first time.[5] He then encountered Daredevil for the first time, and battled his brother Parnival, who had become the supervillain called the Plunderer.[6] He first battled Magneto's Savage Land Mutates alongside the X-Men.[7] He then encountered the Hulk for the first time, and battled Umbu the Unliving.[8] He was once 'tricked' into confronting Spider-Man after J. Jonah Jameson convinced him that Spider-Man was a menace when the wall-crawler's memory was erased and he was tricked into working with Doctor Octopus. Spider-Man's memory was restored during the fight, with Ka-Zar subsequently apologizing for the mistake and proclaiming Spider-Man as the most valiant opponent he had ever fought.[9] Ka-Zar then battled Kraven the Hunter for the first time.[10] Shortly after this encounter, Ka-Zar encounters Zaladane and Garokk for the first time.[11]
After the Savage Land became known to outsiders after the visit by the X-Men, many people began traveling to the territory. Ka-Zar has also become romantically involved with female visitors, the first being S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Barbara Morse (who later became the Avenger named Mockingbird).[12] He first battled A.I.M., and met the Man-Thing.[13] He then met Spider-Man once again, and battled the extraterrestrial Gog.[14] He next met the adventurer Shanna O'Hara,.[15] He battled Klaw, and visited other dimensions.[16] He and his allies faded mysteriously from that other dimension,[17] then teamed with the X-Men to battle Zaladane and a reborn Garokk.[18]
Ka-Zar, during a search for the lost Zabu, later discovered Pangaea, an ancient refuge created by the Atlanteans.[19] Ka-Zar and Shanna began to gradually fall in love.[20] He then battles Belasco for the first time.[21] After a meeting with A.I.M. spies disguised as scientists, Ka-Zar is shot in the head, but survives. He is flown to New York City, but escapes the plane at Kennedy Airport.[22] With no memory and no ability to speak, he wanders New York, saving lives and fighting crime. His memory returns and he encounters Kraven The Hunter again, who has been released from prison by an A.I.M. agent to capture him.[23] Saved by Shanna and Spider-Man, he is brought to the hospital where A.I.M. fakes his death in order to use him in a scheme.[24] Escaping with Spider-Man's aid, he and Shanna return to the Savage Land.[25] He later marries Shanna, who has taken the name Shanna the She-Devil.[26] During the ceremony, a war (incited by the machinations of Belasco) breaks out in Pangea, which ends when Ka-Zar and Shanna are banished.[27] His brother Parnival arrived in the Savage Land, searching for anti-metal Vibranium, and was apparently killed during his scheme (though much later turned up alive).[28] During this scheme, a Nuwali transport device is uncovered, and Ka-Zar, Shanna, and Zabu are transported to the Nuwali planet. The Nuwali use human adrenalin to poison their rivals, and also reveal to Shanna that she is pregnant.[29]
Ka-Zar has teamed up with several of Marvel's heroes. The X-Men are recurrent visitors to the Savage Land and Ka-Zar has been a frequent ally, helping the mutant team defeat both inside and outside menaces such as Sauron and Magneto. He has met Spider-Man on several occasions, one of which involved stopping Stegron the Dinosaur Man from invading New York City with Savage Land dinosaurs. Ka-Zar has also assisted the Avengers in their attempt to repel the space conqueror Terminus, but while they rescued many natives, they were unable to prevent the destruction of the Savage Land. Ka-Zar was rescued by the Avengers, but left the Savage Land for the civilized world.[30] Together, he and Shanna had a son named Matthew. The territory was later reconstructed by the High Evolutionary using Garokk, and Ka-Zar and Shanna returned with their newborn and resumed their previous roles.[31]
Ka-Zar and Shanna separated for a time,[32] but got back together before long. Ka-Zar fought and defeated Thanos in one of his many attempts to end life, and later sought the help of investigator Jessica Jones for assistance locating Zabu.[33]
Shanna and Ka-Zar find Skrulls mining the rare metal vibranium in the Savage Land. Soon afterward as part of the Secret Invasion storyline, a Skrull ship crashes in the Savage Land releasing earlier versions of modern superheroes (who claim to be the originals replaced by Skrulls for some time), and who have escaped. Shanna and Ka-Zar soon learn, however, that these are simply more Skrulls in disguise. Spider-Man soon encounters Ka-Zar, Shanna, Zabu, and some of the natives accusing them of being Skrulls. Just then, the Captain America from the ship attacked thinking the same for Spider-Man. Ka-Zar, Shanna, and Zabu help Spider-Man fight the Captain America from the ship until he is hit by a dart that causes him to regress to a Skrull named Pitt'o Nili, who is killed by Shanna while still believing himself to be Captain America due to the extensive mind conditioning carried out on him.[34] He then later goes with the rest of the Avengers to New York City to help them fight off the Skrull invasion while Shanna stays behind with Zabu to fight off anymore Skrulls left in the Savage Land.[35]
Ka-Zar later meets Reptil when he and Tigra have rescued Moon-Boy. After reuniting Moon-Boy with Devil Dinosaur, Ka-Zar tells Reptil that he will help him find his parents.[36]
Ka-Zar and Shanna later encounter the return of the Ethereals and end up fighting them when it comes to the Ethereals wanting the tribes of the Savage Land to be united with them.[37]
He later teams with Skaar to protect the Savage Land from outside forces.[38]
Ka-Zar later appears as a member of the Agents of Wakanda.[39]
During "The War of the Realms" storyline, Ka-Zar picks up Gorilla-Man from the Wundagore Zoo in Transia, who was discussing with Ursa Major about an undercover operation he is running for Black Panther, and takes him to Avengers Mountain. Ka-Zar and Gorilla Man are then seen inside Roxxon's secret base in Antarctica, fighting the company's Berserkers alongside Blade.[40]
During the "Empyre" storyline, Ka-Zar is unable to reach Shanna the She-Devil. Black Panther instructs Brother Voodoo to take Ka-Zar, Zabu, Black Knight, and Scarlet Witch with him to investigate. They arrive to find a slain Tyrannosaurus as Scarlet Witch senses they are surrounded. The group is attacked by the Cotati and they fight them until the Cotati Ventri unleash Man-Thing who they have under their control. As Ventri states that the Savage Land and the world will be theirs, Ka-Zar is shocked to find that the Cotati have gained control of Shanna.[41] Due to her connection with the Savage Land's lifeforce which the Cotati took advantage of, Shanna tries to get Ka-Zar to join them as Matthew states to Black Knight that they have to do something. Doctor Voodoo used a trick to do a mental trick. Scarlet Witch does the same as she tries to free Shanna from the Cotati's control. To assist her, Scarlet Witch brings Ka-Zar into Shanna's mind where he learns that some creatures in the Savage Land are dying and trees are falling. As Matthew and Black Knight fight the Cotati, a Doctor Voodoo-controlled Man-Thing fights the Cotati's control and defeats Ventri. When Ka-Zar frees Shanna from the Cotati's control, he is stabbed by a Cotati using Black Knight's Ebony Blade.[42] As Scarlet Witch and Doctor Voodoo work to extract Ka-Zar's soul, Shanna the She-Devil uses the same waters that revived him in order to heal Ka-Zar. It works as Ka-Zar turns the tide on the Cotati invaders where dinosaurs show up to help.

@animecat33 tagged me for this
Rules: Name 10 characters from 10 different fandoms that you like, then tag 10 people.
I enjoyed this but... At first I thought, do I even have 10 I consider favs? And then I ended up with a list of, like, 25, and couldn’t pick 10 so I chose more or less at random. And I admit I cheated seeing as some kind of fit in the same fandom in some way.
It’s just too hard picking favorites.
Undercut, cause it’s gonna be a loooong post.
1. Morticia Addams (Addams Family)
Tumblr media
My tattoo probably makes this one obvious.
I love Morticia so much, not only do I love her aesthetic, I just love her personality and attitude, not to mention her marriage is ‘goals’ and as a mother and matriarch she’s incredibly supportive and loving despite the unorthodox life the Addams’ live. I love a character that can be a mother without having it define her completely.
2. Catwoman/Selina Kyle (DC)
Tumblr media
Selina was one of my OG crushes back before I even understood what I crush was or that being queer was even a thing (looking at you, Michelle Pfiffer).
I love her style and strength and personality (when she's well written), her grey morals and competence, and cats are just my thing, ok? Plus bisexual icon.
Have you noticed I have a thing for a dark women with grey morals?
3. Raven/Rachel Roth (Teen Titans/DC)
Tumblr media
I kinda share a name with Raven but that's not why I like her. I've always loved the emotional complexity of this character, her incredible power (and how it's also her weakness), and style as well. I'm not too thrilled about some more recent incarnations of her but she'll always be an OG fav.
4. Nightwing/Dick Grayson (DC)
Tumblr media
Yeah, yeah, DC again, look the other way, please (they have individual comics anyway).
I couldn't leave out my darling Dickie. I grew up with this dude and I love his backstory and relationship with his family. He's a beautiful ray of sunshine with a dark streak, a competent leader without being a broody bossy jerk like some and he's very well rounded and consistent in his characterization (plus that design is top notch). I know the Romani thing was a ret-con on something just vaguely implied in the past but honestly it was a good one and some much needed rep despite the constant whitewashing (though not as bad as others in his family).
Also, he drinks his 'respect woman juice', he's flawed without being edgy, and has been queer-coded and female-troped for decades which makes him much more likeable as a male character. He actually became an LGBT icon despite the cowards at DC constantly trying to shove heteronormativity into his storyline.
5. Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond (Steve Universe)
Tumblr media
Is she problematic? Yes and that's part of the appeal.
I already loved Rose when she was this sweet, compassionate and wise old soul, this rebel and leader and mother with many secrets.
I guessed really early on that she was PD so that part didn't surprise me but when the backstory of her as PD finally appeared to give us so more in-depth knowledge I was surprised by the amount of hate the character got. To me, her flaws, pain, mistakes and growth were part of the allure.
Also, gorgeous and much needed plus-size rep. I loved cosplaying her more than anything.
6. Princess Leia (Star Wars)
Tumblr media
Did I like her style or design? Nope, I much prefer her mother's but Leia is an immensely competent, wise, strong female character that takes no bullshit from the male-dominated plot around her, she deserved so much better. Honestly, she deserved her own goddamn movie.
Carrie Fisher was a feminist icon and an advocate for mental illness visibility. She's was also fucking hilarious. All this translated into Leia's character very well and she deserved so much better from society than being sexualized in a metal bikini and remembered that way forever.
7. Hela (Thor Ragnarok/Marvel)
Tumblr media
I already loved Hela's character in the comics (except the arc where she sexually abuses Thor, that was shitty edgelord writing and I refuse to acknowledge it's existence) but Ragnarok gave her a whole new meaning.
Firstly, my God is she hot! Just.... Umpf! Step on me, queen.
Secondly, she's dark and evil but she has a goddamn point (people are hypocrites). And in the comics she's not even evil, she's neutral and only a villain because she opposes Thor on a personal level. She's also incredibly competent at what she does and if that isn't a turn-on idk what is.
8. Korra (Legend of Korra)
Tumblr media
Korra will always be bae. There's a reason my behemoth of a fic revolved around her.
Not only is she incredibly well-rounded and fun, she's also very competent, has a fascinating backstory and is immensely powerful, plus she grows beautifully through her show. Not to mention she's GORGEOUS.
POC and LGBT rep, plus she showcased one of the most incredible arcs on disability and recovery that I've ever seen in a family show.
9. Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff (Marvel)
Tumblr media
You can pry Wanda from my cold dead hands.
I'm not even the biggest fan of her movie version, I'm all about comic Wanda.
POC rep and an incredibly visceral portrayal of mental illness and trauma. And she's beautiful beyond reason, morally grey, and powerful as hell.
Most of all what I like about Wanda is how loyal and family-oriented she is without letting it diminish her as an individual or as a powerhouse character, so many female characters loose all agency and individuality when they have kids, they get delegated to role of mother and lose their heroics or become extensions of their husbands and children, Wanda was nothing like that. Her relationship with her brother is fascinating too (let's pretend the incesty vibes in certain alt universes don't exist).
I only hate that she and Pietro always get the short stick in adaptations and their origins keep getting needlessly retconned (Magneto's kids with his Romani wife, raised by someone else- that's it, stop trying to change it and then change it back over and over). That and how she's not allowed to have her well deserved relationship with her babies because of stupid old-fashioned comic rules that led to a needlessly convuloted and far-fetch story arc (the erasure, reencarnation and hyper-aging of her sons).
10. Jessica Rabbit (WFRR)
Tumblr media
For most people, Jessica's appeal is "she's hot" and yes, this "pinup femme fatale" look really does things to me, I won't lie about that, but that's not why she's my favorite.
Jessica is fav because she's loyal and loving to her goofy husband, she completely turns the femme fatale trope upside down for love and doesn't give a damn about looks, she uses her appearance as a weapon and she's confident but she's clearly not vain ("I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way" and "He makes me laugh"). She's also hilarious in her own deadpan way.
.
