Friends. Homies. Fam. Here is a list of SOME of the series I'm IMPATIENTLY anticipating the most. No one asked for this but I just felt like sharing.

Your Dear Daddy. The moment I saw Poonpun in that pink silk robe with the thigh tattoo and wearing that anklet in the promo pics I knew I wanted the series immediately. Obsessed! I'm excited for Fluke to be a lead finally because he deserves it and he and Poonpun seem to have excellent chemistry. I'm looking forward to Saitharn being saved by Sila who seems to be lost himself. I'm looking forward to watching Saitharn put it on Sila so good the first time that he decides that he's going to secretly rescue him and love him and worship him...because I know this whole tea farm debt is going to be a guise to keep Saitharn. I just know the series is going to be *chef's kiss*

Century of Love. I don't even know what the plot for this one is but the BTS pics are letting me know it's going to rip me in half. I'm expecting some scifi, soulmates, action, hurt/comfort, maybe some sacrifice, and romance. I'm most excited that we're getting more DaouOffroad and most importantly Daou's buzzcut because he looks soooooooooo good with it.

This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans. IDK man...I don't even care about cooking series like that but I'm excited for more SailubPon and even more excited to finally get some GarfieldBenz after PB viciously teased us with them. I'm also looking forward to Sailub breaking every single health code while he fucks Pon across that industrial kitchen. And also??? Benz's character being unapologetically flirty with Garfield's??? GIMME!

4 Minutes. Highkey thought it wasn't even happening anymore because...well you know. But now Bible has a new partner and I'm excited once again. I just know 4 Minutes is going to break us all into pieces and I'm excited to see Bible shine like the star he is and I'm excited to see how his chemistry is with Jes. And I just know the aesthetic of the series and the actual plot is going to be 20/10...BOC sure has the funds to turn this series into a masterpiece.

Jack & Joker. YINWAR HAVE FINALLY RETURNED TO US! And they're not in school! Whoever they work for heard us say we wanted that Bonnie and Clyde criminal lovers series they dangled in our faces with that one fanmeet and decided to deliver. I'm excited to see Joker being the cheeky seemingly trustworthy mastermind thief and Jack doing whatever he can to protect him because he knows he won't be able to stop him from skillfully robbing people blind. I need more criminal romances in my life.

SunsetxVibes. Wild we're getting this before Big Dragon 2/The Movie. Even wilder that this series is ALSO based on an mpreg story. I am not particularly interested in omegaverse BUT just like Pit Babe I am making an exception because I know I'm going to enjoy the series and I miss MosBank. We thought the chemistry was insane with Big Dragon but they are closer than ever these days and I know it's going to translate beautifully one screen. Much like the title, I'm here just to vibe because I know the plot is gon be a mess.

No need to publish but since you mentioned the disturbing amount of likes F stuff gets--I've now seen SO MANY video compilations of him in Louis' tags and the worst part is having been around for years I know that half the pics are either not F or not even Louis 😬 I see no difference between these "fans" and the ones that relate everything to H. It's depressing that his team isn't interested in fostering a fan base outside of the loonies.

It's really disturbing to see the obsession ngl. And it's not only fans. Just a few days ago, i saw a PEOPLE's article about Freddie's recent pic and i'm like wtf? I don't know if they ever wrote ONE article about a louis music release but just randomly writing a whole ass article about a child? It's so so weird. And i hate larries and babygaters for igniting this obsession amongst fans. If babygaters didn't exist, i don't think we would have this amount of posts or even accounts that work as Freddie's ua. In one hand we have the freaks who allow themselves not only to believe but to fucking post their proofs how Freddie isn't Louis' son daily (just imagine someone coming to you and saying you're not your parents' son/ daughter and i won't believe it until i see your birth certificate. Like seriously who tf they think they are). I still don't know what they think they're achieving with that, even if you think he isn't his child, holding that against him and always threatening to boycott his projects if you see the kid (which never works btw 💀) and hating on a kid daily is just disgusting and (bc i know that's what they care about) frankly useless. No one with a working braincell will ever believe a single word from crazy people like larries (i came back to Twitter the last couple of days and they're honestly truly schizophrenic there's no other explanation to the utter and complete dissociation in their thinking). They don't even think on how it reflects on louis, to have them as fans. I can't tell you how many irl friends became fans of louis after fitf but were so so put off by larries, they chose to remain casual fans only. On the other hand, we have some fans who work a little too hard to prove larries wrong. They hold on too strong to Louis' heterosexuality and fatherhood as a got you moment for larries. PS: A lot of the likes for Freddie's posts come from hrries who cling to that (and Louis' Larry denials ) as proof that larry isn't real since their fav didn't really give them a firm denial to shut larries up. I think louis is too talented to have a fandom like this. I always thought that his discography is too good to be included in this circus. Someone like him should've had a carrer trajectory similar to some of the top actors'. Drama free, promote his projects when the time comes, charms everyone with his wit and sense of humor then disappears until the next masterpiece drops. Unfortunately, he was sabotaged for too long and his current team is so useless, non creative and non ambitious it really is depressing. Even the big side projects if you will (afhf, aotv, lfl...) were all louis' ideas and made reality out of sheer will and determination from him. I will never forget in the afhf documentary where HE was the one telling Matt that the festival will happen and the logistics will be figured out and insisting so that the lazy man gets on with it and does his job. Like you're his MANAGER and not only you have zero useful ideas to promote him but also act like you're doing him a huge favor (against your will just so you could shut him up) when he asks you to do something that is in reality your job. His label is also useless (no radio, no playlisting). Hoping LT3 will have a better promo cycle (i'm a clown i know) and some miracle happens so we can get rid of larries, they're so harmful to his career and replace them with new healthy normal fans

Hello! I think the best I can offer anyone who missed it is this masterpiece that I did not compile, highlighting the highlights. BUT YEAH, the real pain comes in the aftermath--these two were clearly tight (lovahs? good friends??) until the "gucci modeling tree" post (which was definitely the breaking/up point; Nick moved on that week), then the snide "promo" around Fine Line on Nick's part, which morphed into the complete absence of any mention of Harry (his bittersweet "appearance" on Nick's final radio show, fucking ouch). Even today, when Nick does mention Harry's name (read: has to because it's unavoidable), it's like he's reading a headline about someone he a) doesn't know and b) doesn't really want to know. I always leave a lot of room because I have no idea, but there was clearly a falling out between lovahs? good friends?? whatever, you know it's not the same as it was, etc. (j/k, that song's about Louis, BUT STILL)

I know we shouldn't compare them because it's not fair but when I think about how much criticism rwrb received as a film and how it was never enough for the audience but the first reviews of the idea of ​​you call it "film of the decade" (I really doubt it, please people watch more movies) or say that people were screaming in the theater during the sex scenes... As a queer person it makes me suffer that the projects made for us are never good enough for the public but for straight films literally is enough the bare minimum to make them scream masterpiece. Again, this isn't a comparison or hate for tioy but it makes me sad.

Honestly, I'm in the exact same place as you are. I was thinking about it a lot this morning.

I don't know how fair my judgement is because I am inherently biased towards RWRB but I also feel upset about how much TIOY is getting compared to RWRB. Granted TIOY has the advantage of star power, with Nick being more well-known after RWRB and M&G and Anne freaking Hatheway, and to a certain degree One Direction/ Harry Styles, but just from the premise... It's doesn't sound as groundbreaking or new as what RWRB or even M&G did. I can expect it to be a fun romantic movie, but I can't see it being something as... fresh and impactful/ meaningful to an audience as RWRB and M&G are.

I don't know how much right I have to say this as someone who currently identifies as cis-straight, but the double standards between queer media like RWRB and heterosexual media like TIOY is very frustrating, It's like there's so many more steps for queer media to climb to "catch up" with a straight media of a similar genre/premise. Even with the ratings, RWRB did not deserve R at all. But I do think we're gradually making steps towards improving this phenomenon. Slow steps, but steps nonetheless. So please don't loose hope.

As for "film of the decade"... I'm sorry but that's gotta be an exaggeration. Stuff like Barbie, Oppenheimer, Avenger Endgame, Spider-Verse being called "film of the decade", I can understand, but this is not it. Hell, as much as it's straight up part of my soul now, I don't think RWRB fits "film of the decade". If we're taking that title seriously, then that's gotta be something really creative and new, something that hits hard. So yeah, you're right. People need to watch more movies, or have better media literacy.

I don't think there's been a single day since the movie was released that I didn't agonize and grieve over what we could have had. RWRB had so many disadvantages: As upsetting as it is, queer media, especially rom-com is still inherently seen as something lesser, which is fucked up, but unfortunately it's where we're at right now. On top of that, the timing of the strike directly coincides with the promo period of RWRB. The strike was for a good cause and achieved great things for actors, it was necessary, but that doesn't stop the lost of what we could have from hurting. So compared to other movies and projects (and not even necessarily just the boys' projects, recent streaming media in general) RWRB had so many disadvantages. If this was a race, then our starting line was pulled back a couple of miles.

But on the bright side, you gotta think: even with nearly zero promo, even with so many disadvantages and setbacks, RWRB still managed to achieve a lot: Most streamed movie on the platform globally for (I think?) three weeks, top most-streamed three romcoms on the platform all time, PGA and Glaad award nomination (and hopefully more to come down the line) and look at us! We're still going strong, and a sequel is in talks. There's never a fair comparison when it comes to things like this, but I said we're pretty amazing, and that's something that can't be taken away.

as a snobby 90s goth when these lovely folks came out in the early aughts, my kneejerk reaction was to gatekeep because that's one thing goths are REALLY good at lol. I was a Tampa Goth (yes, Goth Talk being in Tampa really fit lol it's like the goth capital of the world) who went clubbing 4-5 times a week, smoking clove cigarettes at The Castle (though I liked the DJ better at The Edge, DJ Nemesis who is still out there spinning all kinds of futuebop jams in clubs) and when the WWF (at the time was still called that I believe) used "Bring Me to Life" for a promo I realized it was a pop-goth outfit and was enraged like any dumb young snobby music gatekeeper could be

what I only admitted to myself (not even my boyfriend who honestly didn't evne care lol) was how much I loved this album. I may or not have shoplifted it from my job so no one caught me buying it (I'm not being coy here lol it was 20+ years ago I don't remember but I think tha'ts how it went) and listened to it secretly when the boyfriend was working and remembered every lyric marry me amy lee you're so pretty

anyway the albums till holds up great. "Tourniquet" is my favorite even though it's probably the most obvious of the album that is a Trojan horse of a goth song that's really a Christian song. That's the other thing lol this band is supposedly covertly doing Christian messaging and tbh sometimes between goths and Catholics it is genuinely hard to tell the difference.

It's a stunning album and I feel like the numetal era of the 2000s was really the last time a rock subgenre took over pop on that level. We could really use a rock renaissance in popular music. There were more explicitly rock pop projects but with the rise of alternative as a genre rock drifted further away from pop during the 90s and 00s

This is the first in a Roy/Jamie, canon divergent season 2 AU that follows the events of the season fairly closely, but with one change at the start affecting Jamie's relationships and actions. 1,030 kudos. Summary:

I finally got around to watching Thor: Love and Thunder, and I have to say, I really fucking loved it. I remember seeing promo interviews and stuff for it, and everyone talked about how queer it was, and then I read a lot of backlash about how it wasn't queer, "how dare you say you made a queer movie!" blah blah blah.

Let me tell you, Love and Thunder IS queer. Not because it has openly queer characters, but because the whole style and vibe is undoubtedly in accordance with queer sensibilities. It is camp in a way few modern movies manage to be. Its camp is genuine, it never tries to be cool, in fact, it takes great pains to ruin any "cool" moment. Except for the Mighty Thor. That reveal? Her fucking arms? Dude, it was the coolest queerest moment ever. It balanced a really poignant story told with a lot of love and care, with a genuinely camp, deeply uncool, giant screaming goats pulling a tour ship along a magical rainbow road shit-show of an adventure story. It did an excellent job.

So, yeah. Anyone who came away from Thor: Love and Thunder, and didn't see the huge gay masterpiece that it was... I am sorry. You missed out my friend.

I think she might have more songs but tbh I don’t know what she’d cut to add them and also that wouldn’t be the theme of the album which is mostly about being pissed at Matty and sad that Joe being sad made her fuck Matty in the first place. Adding “but it’s all good now” as a whole them would’ve been confusing imo.

I think exactly the opposite 😂 I would agree with you if she hadn't included Travis at all. Then I would be like ok she's just letting this album be about her exes and then next one will be all about Travis. But for whatever reasons she made it a point to include him. And given that was the case, I think it would make a lot of sense for her to want the narrative to be I suffered so much with these guys, I was crazy in love and it all crashed down, but then I met someone, fell in love again and as you can see now I got my happy ending. She even posted those videos of them as promo after the album, as if to reasure all is perfect now. So yeah I do think this kind of premise didn't quite deliver for me. So much so we were all kind of all does she want Matty back with this album or? Or people saying maybe her and Travis aren't that serious, cause look at how in love she was. Or people seeing this album as poor Taylor we ruined for her, her and Matty are soulmates and maybe they should try again. So I mean, that's not exactly a good image to come across when there's songs for her current album aswell. We shouldn't stay with an idea that they were perfect for each other. The idea is that all of that is past and she found the perfect person. But given that his songs weren't exactly love song masterpieces, we're left with her feelings for Matty definately feel way stronger

idk my take is she wanted to include songs for travis because she knew he'd like to be included and like... she wanted to write about him. But I also think after all her drama she didn't want to like scare him off lol I don't think she wanted to be like "KING OF MY HEART!!!" on an album that was called TTPD and was largely about Matty.

Proudly not watching NATLA. I don't really care what changes they made, whether it had been entirely the same or another hilarious fuck-up like the non-existent movie. Like whatever they did to fuck up the story I get if you're invested in the adaptation so fair enough

What I actually care about is the fact that it even exists at all. Even with the very rare cases where it actually brings something worthwhile to the work (I hear the Netflix One Piece is good? idk), why bother adapting animation to live action? Because nearly every time there is no artistic motivation to do so at all, merely the blatant cynicism and that sneering reduction of animation in the entertainment industry as just "the means of making cheap children's cartoons" that just refuses to fucking die already.

In general I find adaptation to rarely justify itself artistically, especially if the source material was really bloody good already. Of course great adaptations exist, sometimes from elevating/subverting it's source (or in the case of Starship Troopers for example, taking the everliving piss out of a pile of shit), sometimes merely by translating the work into a new medium that lead to interesting new avenues for expression and storytelling provided by the change in medium (and by this I mean wholly different mediums, like between book/videogame/film or show/play), or both.

Changing between live-action and animation as a means of making film/TV is not a big change in medium to provide entirely new storytelling opportunities, BUT 99% of the time, animation is more effective. Casting is never dependent on an actor's irl appearance, the method of animation can even be changed at any point to serve a function, animation (with sufficient time, resources and passion) allows total control over the entire visual presentation of the work. And by such total control over the presentation alone, suddenly you are open to an infinity of possibilities in choreography, character expression, visual comedy, tone, colour, environment etc. etc. You are no longer limited by what can be captured in physical reality on a screen in any one take. You are limited by what you can fit on a 2D screen.

What we call live action today in mainstream media is not really live action, it's in large part a corporate compromise to extend just past the financial and physical limitations of practical effects to achieve whatever the script needs the screen to do via CGI. Which is just 3D animation, but it's completely focused on adhering to a visual realism. Of course extremely good and thoughtfully presented live action works still exists; if it's filmed and/or presented thoughtfully and meticulously enough, then it can be similarly poignant as an excellent work of animation. But outside of like, auteurs, this does not usually happen.

This particular example is not from some troubled source material with lost potential or any severe caveats in visual presentation. This is fucking. ATLA. Like, the animation isn't as massively funded as a Disney Renaissance ig?? But for 2000s cartoons, it was insanely forward and completely holds up today, it's still cherished today. And ATLA in general was a masterpiece. It still IS a masterpiece!! It hasn't gone and fucking died in need of a replacement!!!

So there's just no way I can see it worth my time to dedicate my time to an inferior version of an awesome show that already exists.

It's just obvious that this show only exists so Nickelodeon can boost the profitability of [BRAND]. Love to the good honest crew and actors for the show, love that they're carrying out childhood dreams and getting to do promos with the original VAs and all. Wake me up when the animated ATLA films come out.

As someone old enough to have been a teenager when the first Raimi Spider-Man film came out and was therefore involved in the online fandoms for all three live action Spider-Man series to some degree during their runs, I can easily say that as annoying as the MCU fandom can be, nothing comes even close to how awful the TASM fandom was, like, I have not forgotten the absolutely disgusting levels of misogyny (and classism) from both the fandom and the people working on the film, including Feminist TM Gwen Stacy Icon Emma, just constant horrible misogynistic and classist comments about MJ (and Kirsten) being an ugly slutty whore bitch gold digger who was stupid and trashy next to smart classy Gwen every damn day while simultaneously praising the film for being a feminist masterpiece (it's not lol), one of the most popular and circulated images and gifs at the time was of Emma calling MJ a stupid slut, and that kind of shit was even part of the official promo for the movie, feminist movie my fucking ass tbh
