It bugs the hell out of me that there are no consequences for breaking up with Astarion after becoming his spawn. I don't care if he's lost interest or whatever, and I'm sure I can see how this response might make sense (something, something entertained by the defiance when he's surrounded by terrified sycophants. You're his property anyway, no matter where you go or what you do. As your master he can take you back any time he feels like it, and you're not a threat. etc etc) - but that's not the point. What appears to be a total lack of downsides or even any acknowledgement whatsoever in the epilogue for a risky and bad choice (ie becoming a vampire spawn, and furthermore; insulting your master and running away), irks me on a narrative level.

Actually a few of the darker endings work well for hypothetical 'freed (probably by Jergal via deus ex machina or whatever; 'how' and 'why' is irrelevant to this post) but in desperate need of therapy, but let's give them more dead doves, but different breeds of dead doves instead' feral Durge

Sharran Shadowheart kind of tells Durge she's waiting for their trauma to turn them to Sharon* if you pick a certain dialogue option - go with Shadowheart and join the faith, and Shar could certainly ease the trauma, in an ultimately toxic way. (By far the most plausible of these scenarios)

*Autocorrect has spoken. Shar is now Sharon.

The God of Ambition... Well, I'm not sure Durge in this state currently has lofty plans that would bring them to such a god's attention, but Gale could definitely make it better-worse.

And of course there's Ascended Astarion hiding his reclaimed consort/pet away in the attic, 'safe' and away from the hell of a world that hurt them both, until they've 'recovered.'
