Kim wasn't sure why Annie thought Isaac was suspicious because she didn't think that someone having a colourful house made them guilty of a crime. He was a board member and a respected member of the community, she had learned the latter after talking to a few people. There was also the fact she had voted for him in the last election so she actually felt bad about doing surveillance on him.
Still, she had a job to do and sometimes doing the right thing was hard. She knew that the hard way. It earned you a lot of enemies and very few friends. She was used to that by now.
There was no mistaking the house as she came into Southern Isles neighborhood. Sure, it looked out of place but Kim actually respected him for being himself and not caring what others had to say.
Now, she had some sort of plan. If he got her then she could use the excuse she used on Hercules which was she was looking for a place next year after uni or her family was thinking of moving to Swynlake. There was also another idea she could use which was she wanted to get his advice for her career. She knew he was a teacher but he was also a board member so had to know about the law in some way.
Kim kept walking into the neighborhood but kept her distance from his house. She found a bench near his house and brought out her book, so it seemed less suspicious then she saw him come out the house.

01 June 2023 (backdated) (2 of 2)
That’s not trash in the first shot, that’s me covering up bits of grass poking through the newspapers. So much new planting space this fall!
Back bed: the rose seems just about done with blooming, which seems a change from last year. The red yarrow is getting close to blooming (in front of oak barrel). You can’t see them, but the nasturtiums in the barrel have their first buds too.
Flower buds on the honeysuckle!
Main bed, right side.
Not much movement here. The lavender is about to bloom on the right. No cosmos yet from the seeds I scattered in the big open area in the middle.
Main bed - left side
One of the hollyhock’s leaves has turned yellow (against the fence in the back). I’m hoping for the best. The asters are bushing out after their haircut. The rue in front of them has been blooming away (yellow flowers). Behind the aster is the meadowsweet finally open (white-pink flowers). All along the front you can see the poppies and the euphorbia coming up.
The small dark red plant is the cardinal flower (later summer bloom). The plant with red stems next to the purple spike speedwell is the gaura about to bloom.
Poppy!
And along the very front, the honeywort has sprouted!
Close-up of the meadowsweet.

Okay kids, buckle up. I need money again (for the last time, pray god), but at least this time I have a fucking story to go with it.
Short version: My landlord is illegally trying to evict me and I just had to drop $60 on court costs to fight it. That's $60 that was going to pay for either my meds or the electric bill, take your pick. So I really need donations to get by for the next two weeks, after which I should be settling in at a much more mentally healthy job and in good shape. My Paypal is [email protected] and my Ko-fi is here. Thank you so much for anything you can contribute!
Long version:
So the last three months I've been off work due to a mental health breakdown. July and August, I haven't been able to pay my rent. I applied for rent assistance right away in late June, and emailed my landlord's office all the paperwork for both the rent assistance and the CDC Declaration of eligibility for the Eviction Moratorium -- the thing where if you're poor enough you can't get evicted during the pandemic because you would have to go to a shelter or a crowded living situation and be at risk for the Covid.
Middle of July, I received a *backdated* notice that if I didn't provide proof of rent assistance application, I was going to be filed against for eviction. Okay, there's a new property manager, maybe the filing got mixed up, so I go down and re-email all the paperwork and make sure the property manager sees it arrive in the email.
Beginning of August, I get a notice from the rent assistance people that the CDC has extended the moratorium for places in a high surge status, which I am in one, so I fill out and forward the newest eviction protection form which should cover me till October 3, and go down to speak to the property manager about it, when again I am assured that everything is on file.
Middle of August, two months after filing my request for rent assistance, I finally hear from a caseworker who says "send me your paperwork". I jubilantly send all the paperwork, go down to give my property manager the good news, and also -- see, I don't have a lease for September yet. I was offered one back in July, but I didn't want to sign anything until I knew what my situation was going to be with regard to rent assistance and paydays. So I brought down the paper that said "yes I am signing here to officially agree to the new lease you offered, please print the new lease so I can sign it officially", and handed it to the property manager as well.
Now, I have about $700 of late fees for July and August. This is legal under the eviction moratorium and I have understood from the beginning that I would have to pay them. My first paycheck back to work comes in this Friday, and when I went to request the new lease I had planned to discuss a payment arrangement as well, figuring I could pay about $600 on Friday and the rest in two weeks, based on my projected paycheck.
("Taught myself payroll tax law in order to predict my paychecks" should definitely be on my resume somewhere. I just haven't figured out where.)
But, dear readers, when I went down to drop off the form, there was some other client or resident in the office, so I didn't get to discuss a payment arrangement. No big deal, I figured. I'd discuss it when I heard that my lease was ready to sign.
Instead, last Tuesday, I was woken up at nine sharp by a process server with an eviction summons for me. Thank fuck, I've spent the last two weeks having a technical issue at work that's kept me getting paid but off the phones, because I was in no state to talk to people that day. Eventually I pulled myself together, broke out the legalese close-reading skills, and discovered that the summons includes one particular line item which (I hope and pray) indicates They Done Fucked Up.
This summons, ladies and gentlethem, includes the line item "The Plaintiff has not received an executed copy of the Declaration form as of the date of this filing pursuant to the CDC Order dated September 1, 2020."
Well, gentle readers, I was and am *pissed off*. I keep providing documentation to these fuckers and they keep misplacing it, and now they're getting me involved with The Legal System. I *hate* being anywhere near the legal system. I have massive PTSD triggers from being raised by an evil ADA. But by god, I speak legalese as my first language, and I am not going down without a fight.
So, not being able to get in touch with anyone to provide legal aid or assistance, I spent last Thursday trundling around downtown in decaying shoes and 105° heat, getting court paperwork printed and duplicated and filed and mailed. I dropped about $60 I hadn't planned to spend on court filing fees and certified mail costs and the actual baseline printing costs of all the documentation I needed to provide.
I did get two pieces of good luck that day. One, I finally heard back from my case manager saying that the rent assistance money for my landlord only has to go through one more person who will double-check the numbers. It's supposed to get final approval sometime early this week.
Two, I got a job promotion I've been working toward for years. Well, side-motion, it doesn't come with a raise, but I already make $16+ an hour, over twice our federal minimum wage. What it does come with is, except in rare cases I never talk to callers, I just answer them in written messages. This should hopefully be a perfect job for me, and allow me to work a solid 40 hours a week and earn plenty of money.
The catch is... it's work-at-home only. If I get evicted and can't make it to training on Monday week, I'm fucked.
So. My eviction hearing is tomorrow. If and when the judge is like "okay if we let you sign a new 12-month lease and stay in your apartment, what is your repayment plan on your late fees", I plan to be like "Your Honor, I have a payday on Friday and I am prepared to provide the court a money order for the full $700 of late fees on that date which will bring me fully up to date".
I'll do it, too. The catch is, that'll leave me with something like $200 in the bank for the next two weeks, and I calculate I need about $100 for groceries, $80 for meds, $50 for electric, and $80 for the cell phone bill over that time period. These numbers don't add up. :P
Soooo, yeah. I'm having to spend about $160 I can't afford because my damn property manager is an idiot and can't fucking print and file my fucking legal declaration. I really hope the court throws the book at the corporation and nails them with those "up to $200,000 fines" for breaking the CDC moratorium, although I am dubious because courts like corporations much more than they like stout genderqueer individuals without legal representation, however white and erudite.
But mostly, I really hope I can stay in my apartment and also afford my meds for the next two weeks. My Paypal is [email protected] and my Ko-fi is here. If you can spare *anything*, even a dollar or three, it would help so much.
God, I'm so sick of having to beg for help every few weeks. I just really hope nothing else blows up in my face... :-(
#i am really struggling today (sunday) because i can't do anything but wait#begging post#help me o internets

self para / hair cut
summary: backdated sometime first week of june. minjung cuts her hair short for the first time ever in her career at her own wants — fitting a comeback that looms in the horizon. (yes this is late, but i had the idea now. so, i get a backdated para about how the short hair came to be. obvs no real reference because jisoo has never had a hair change.) warnings: none wc: 426
snip snip.
it dawns on her that despite how many years force her into the constraints of change — never one does it ever breach her hair.
years of promotions, and each comeback presents itself the same way packaged differently. her hair up, then down. straight, then curled — the biggest change of bangs or not. so, when she’s sitting in the hair stylist seat one more time, looking at the overworked eyes of her stylist, her lips furl into a grin. thinned out, thoughts processing into the do or don’t.
she lies on edge here, does she snip it all off or does she not?
does she buy time, hindered by the inability to bite right into a new set of change or does the fear of the unknown, and the sole lure of letting thoughts do the majority of the changing win in the end?
“i think i want to cut my hair.”
she bites the bullet, let it speak before the filter places itself in her head. uncertainty poses her teeth to bite down on her lower lip, nervous to the aftermath of what she’s spoken. hair that never changes — it’s just hair, the masses say. yet, when the scissors come for a snip snip snip, she’s left there eyes completely shut before peeking through one propped open eyelid to see nothing’s changed at all.
“i’m not cutting your hair super short.” her stylist says, scissors in hands, arms crossed over her chest. minjung relents with a sigh of relief, short yet disconnected from it all.
so, she parts her lips. bites the bullet once more to a lesser shock. “okay, if we don’t cut it short — what if we cut to shoulder length? it’d be the shortest i’ve ever went.”
now, it’s her stylist on the other side taking in the silence as a matter to think. an idea, hesitation waits. (whatever she chooses, minjung trusts her stylist enough to know that she’ll take the reins on this one.)
“okay — let’s go shoulder length.”
then the real swipe of the scissors go, and all she sees are the fluttering tresses falling straight to the floor. taking things on her own accord, her own decisions cause this shift in the pit of her stomach. a subtle change when the hair lies on the floor. yet, when she sees the mirror there’s nothing left differently than the vision of girl uninterrupted, lost in the middle of the shop, the early hours of the morning.
but, change is good they say. so, she’ll believe it for now.

Somehow Nobody Died (part two) || AJ, Blanche, Dustin, Lea, and Quinn
Backdated to June 3rd, 2017 - post-prom adventures featuring a truck and a diner.
Getting to the truck was hard enough work, wrangling the three drunkards like they were cattle and directing them towards the spot where AJ had parked his truck had been no easy task, but somehow the five of them arrived in one piece without anybody running off into traffic or a member of administration chasing out after them. "Quinn and Dustin you guys get in the back." He pointed to the bed of the truck. His car was not exactly ideal for driving multiple people home, but he figured it was better than nothing else. "And stay down because a cop will pull us over if they see you." AJ climbed into the driver's side and leaned over to push the passenger door open for the two girls. Lea climbed in first and sat in the middle while Blanche hopped in the last open seat. "There's a window right behind you if you want to talk to your brother." AJ mumbled, starting the truck and saying a silent prayer that it didn't choose tonight to finally give out on him. Glancing over at Blanche, clearly stuck in her own drunken world made AJ point to the lock on the door and speak to Lea, "And lock her in please."
This was absolutely not how her evening was supposed to go. A frown still on her face, Lea made her way out to AJ's truck with the rest of them, pulling herself up and into the front seat, silently buckling herself in as she let out a sigh. She was doing this for Dustin, she reminded herself. Because she did love him and did care about him and had to make sure he actually got home, even though the fact that he'd hugged her back in the gym was still a bit - or rather a lot - weird. "Got it." She replied tersely to AJ, reaching over Blanche's lap and pushing the lock on the door. She pulled out her phone and opened up her group text with Katie and Jenna, sending the two of them a small message before closing it and holding the phone on her lap.
The trip to the car took far longer than Quinn expected it to. They were stumbling about, laughing far too loudly, and he was pretty much attached to Dustin's hip. By the time he actually reached the truck, he was fairly disheveled. His jacket and vest had been unbuttoned, and the bowtie was hanging limply from his neck. He'd even undone the top two buttons of his shirt. It was too stuffy in the suit, even outside. "The back? That sucks," Quinn mumbled, and pouted. With a huff, he did his best to climb into the back of the truck, but it was surprisingly difficult. He leaped up the first time and failed, groaning as his body hit the side. "Fuck," he mumbled, finally managing to clamber into the truck and falling heavily onto the bed. "C'mon Dustin," he said, reaching out to try and help his boyfriend.
"Are you kidding me?" Dustin exclaimed. "The back is the best part of a truck! I've always wanted to travel in the back. We can totally recreate that movie, you know, with prom and the teenagers in the truck and the ugly clock." He tried climbing into the back, an endeavour that was hindered by his current lack of balance but helped by his height and enthusiasm to get inside the back. Gripping Quinn's hand, he finally landed inside, and he started laughing loudly when he landed half on top of Quinn. "Not exactly how I picture myself on top of you," he told him, grinning, before getting back upright and starting to poud against the window separating the back from the front. Then, he decided to just try opening it - and surprisingly, it worked. "Hey!" Dustin smiled at them. "Can you hear me through here? I'm not sure you can hear me. And that would suck, a lot. You should be able to hear me, because I wanna talk to you guys."
Blanche was calmer once she had left the building with the scary ghosts and stopped trying to run away, but she was babbling incoherently to her Granny, who was, for once, trying to get her to to be quiet. Blanche grinned widely as she hoisted herself in AJ's truck after Lea and sitting herself down. "This truck's nice!" Blanche said to nobody in particular. "I like it-- it's bigger than my little car! My little car is parked waaaaaaaaaay on the other end of the building. It's blue- I really like the color blue but my Granny says it makes me look tacky." She nodded, once again becoming amused by how her curls bounced in front of her face. She leaned back as Lea reached to lock the door. "You're pretty." Blanche said, reaching to pat her on the shoulder. "I like that dress a lot, the lace and stuff compliments it." She nodded once, fumbling with her seatbelt to strap herself in, before she let out a gasp, turning in her seat. "You're pretty too AJ!! Don't worry!! I like your suspenders!!" Blanche announced, before Dustin's voice came floating to her through the open window. "I can hear youuuu!!!" Blanche exclaimed happily, leaning towards it. "Hiiiii Dustin! My Granny says hi too!!!" 'No I did not! Blanche! Stop this nonsense right now! Blanche turned her head. "You did too!" She whispered. "Don't be rude!"
"Wow that's so interesting" AJ answered Blanche blandly, afraid that she would just repeat herself but louder if she realized that she was being ignored. AJ grinned as she turned her focus towards Lea and then immediately transitioned to eye rolling when Blanche felt the need to compliment him too. "Thanks. For a second there I thought you forgot about me. I was heartbroken." Then she started talking to herself again. Or rather, something that was near her. "Am I dropping you and your brother off first Lea?"
Lea smiled briefly at Blanche. "Thanks a bunch. I like the color a lot." Making sure to hold onto her phone, she turned around to the window at Dustin's comment. "Yes, big brother, I can hear you. Try going a little louder, maybe. I think the folks in Portland might not be able to hear you." She gave another huff, and replied to AJ without looking at him. "Sure, we don't live too far from here." Though then he'd know where they lived. Shoot. "We probably have to get home soon, anyhow." She ran a hand through her loose curls, nervously twisting the ends around her fingertips. Her phone buzzed and she opened up a text from Amanda, which looked more like a mixture of a few different languages than any one distinct one - but it seemed like she and Kevin and some others had left the dance, which made Lea breath a small sigh of relief. She fired off a response and set her phone back in her lap.
Quinn let out a slight "oof" as Dustin toppled on top of him. But then he grinned and laughed at the joke, leaning up a little bit. "You could totally just stay there," he smiled with a big grin. And then Dustin was scrambling off to yell at the others. With a slight groan, Quinn picked himself up to move next to Dustin. "I think they can hear us," he said, nudging Dustin and reaching into the window to pat Lea's head. "See? She can hear. But she's being mean again. You're mean Lea," he said, looking around at AJ. "I'm staying over tonight!" he called out, probably too loudly. "So I'm gonna get dropped off with them," he said, before turning to Blanche. "Who's being rude? Also do we have to go home now? I'm not ready to go home yet. Let's do something fun,"
"Is that a challenge?" Dustin grinned at Lea from the back of the truck. When Quinn reached through the window, he decided to do the same, bumping his arm against Quinn's. Patting Lea was a good idea. But she needed more pats. He moved his hand to pat against her cheek, in what looked like an odd mixture between a mild slap, a cheek exam and petting a dog. "Only I am allowed to call her mean," Dustin protested. He stretched in order to pat Blanche's cheek next. "Do you have your granny on your phone?" Dustin asked. "Or is she like, with you in spirit?" he asked. "But tell her hi back! I'd love to meet her, if she's the type of granny that gives out candy and stuff." He let go of Blanche's cheek, moving his hand towards AJ. "Wait, you're staying over? Does that mean we're having sex?" Dustin wanted to know, before moving his hand against AJ's hair, ruffling it. He really had to stretch a lot to reach him. "Not you, AJ," he quickly correctly. "Oh my god, yes, we should do something fun. Lea, can you get us into the aquarium? I know you love the fishies. Pleease."
Blanche frowned slightly. "Don't be heart broken!!! You're very pretty!!!" She insisted. Granny was practically having a cow, but Blanche was too busy laughing as Dustin and Quinn kept touching Lea's head. She didn't think Lea liked that too much. Confusion filled her as Dustin started patting her and asking about her Granny. "Spirit? What's a spirit?! Like a ghost? Ghosts- haha- aren't real!! You know what I like though, goats!!! Oh! Oh no! Dustin!! Quinn!! You guys are pretty too!!" Blanche was horrified when she realized she forgot to compliment them. "You guys were super cute tonight-AJ did you get nice pictures of them? I hope you got nice pictures of them! And- wait, who's having sex with who?" Blanche asked, whispering to Lea in what really wasn't a whisper. She was having trouble keeping up. Blanche swiveled in her seat. "We can't go to the aquarium!!! It's closed and—" Her stomach let out the loudest growl and her laughter mixed with Granny's groan. "— OOOH! I'm hungry!! Let's get food!! But not Flopped because I work there- did you know I work there? I do the rollerskating which is actually a lot harder than people think because people push by you and then you sorta just fly in whatever direction and— ohhh I want a burger! No I want three burgers- I haven't eaten alllllll day. Please AJ? Can we go to AJ's- not AJ... El? No. Al's!!!!! They have the best burgers ever!!"
Aquariums or any other location post prom other than home had not been part of the deal. Not that AJ had really made a deal with them in the first place. It was more or less an ultimatum, leave with him right then and there or face whatever consequences the school board thought up to deal with those that had been caught intoxicated tonight. Dustin and Blanche had been too drunk to really care about the consequences anyways, but AJ had been able to at least get Quinn to see why they had needed to leave. The plan had been to go straight from the prom to their houses so that AJ could go home. He should have left them at prom. Dustin’s hand found AJ’s face through the back window of the truck and AJ just sighed through it, figuring that pulling away would only make matters worst. “Bummer. I had really been looking forward to prom night sex too.” The aquarium sounded like an awful idea and any place like it wouldn’t be much better. Blanche eventually decided that she was suddenly starving somehow, and started screaming out that she needed food as soon as possible. “Fine. Fine. Jesus Christ. We will go to Al’s just shut it.” Dustin and Lea had lived so close to the school that he thought he could get them out as fast as possible, but instead and did a U-turn and drove back in the opposite direction of their house and toward the diner. What could possibly go wrong?
Lea whipped her head around and glared at both Dustin and Quinn. "No, big brother, that was sarcasm. Also, he's right. Nobody else can call me mean, and it's even rude when he does it." She gave a small huff, turning back around to face forward. "Nobody's having sex tonight, holy cow. Personally, I think we should all go back to our own houses but-" She was cut off by Blanche's suggestion mixed with Dustin's. "I do love the aquarium, but it's after hours which means it is closed." She glanced down at her phone, Amanda and Kevin continuing to text her and she replied quickly, apologizing for leaving early which earned an inordinate amount of crying emojis from both of them, even though Kevin was not one to use emojis in great excess on any normal day. "I guess Al's is fine," she sighed as AJ turned around. "It is good to have food when you've had alcohol, it helps process it."
Quinn just pouted, fully intending to call Lea mean when she's been acting mean. With a shrug, Quinn turned to Dustin. "We're totally gonna have sex. And it'll be loud and Lea will hate it," he grinned, kissing his boyfriend's cheek before pulling his and back from the window. He didn't feel the need to pet everyone in the front. "There are a lot of fish in the aquarium. Could we swim with them? That would be fun," Quinn rambled, but the suggestion of food actually caught his ears. "Oh, fuck yeah food is soooo much better than fish. Unless it's fish as food, but then only sometimes," Quinn said, before letting out a yelp as the car turned. He slipped a bit to the side, crashing into Dustin before giggling again and trying to get back up. "Be careful driving! We're in a truck,"
Dustin smiled when Blanche called them cute. It sounded like she did like them as a couple. Unless it was just a cover up for her giant crush that she refused to admit. "So it's not rude when I call you mean?" he asked Lea. "Because you're the meanest of them all, holy cow," he said, mocking her words. "And I'll have sex if I wanna have sex. We should start practicing right now, you know." He grinned at Quinn, curling his fingers around his waist, mostly to keep steady. "Because I'm a virgin, you know? Lea knows that. Lea knows when people are virgins, she's got a virgin-dar." He laughed out loud. "Oh yes, I love food! Not just when drunk, because I'm not drunk, but always. And who knows, maybe at the diner we can find someone for AJ to have sex with!" he suggested brightly. When Quinn crashed into him, his laugh was so loud it could likely be heard from two streets away. "No, do that again, AJ, that was fun! Don't listen to Quinn!" He held onto his boyfriend more tightly.
'Hooligans. You are hanging out with HOOLIGANS! You make him take you home right now, young lady!' Blanche stared at the space her Granny had wedged herself in and she blinked. "But if don't get don't get food I'll die," Blanche said, gently trying to soothe her Granny. It didn't work. Blanche eeked slightly as AJ did a u-turn, but Blanche grinned happily. She felt fairly woozy now-- the alcohol was slurring her words together. Didn't drunk people get sick sometimes? No, she wouldn't get sick. She decided. Blanche patted her growling tummy, before turning. "Are you making fun of Lea? That's not very nice. What's a virgin-dar-- I don't think that's a thing. Is that a thing?" Blanche tried to whisper to Lea, her brows furrowing in confusion. But she popped her head back to get a better look at Quinn and Dustin, frowning. "I don't think you guys should un-virgin-ify yourselves in AJ's car, that's kinda mean-- I mean, what if he has to, like, put stuff back there. That's why you have a truck, right? To put stuff back there."
The drive to Al’s was not too far from the school. If there were any perks of living in a small town like Ashkent Creek it would be the close proximity of basically everything one could need. Getting from one edge of town to the other took barely any time at all and there were a lot of businesses stuffed within its borders. AJ mostly ignored the others as he drove towards the diner. He was fairly certain that Dustin and Quinn would not make any real attempts at doing it in his car. He was hopeful that Lea would stop them if they tried. He kept his eyes staring at the road and tried his hardest to block all of the drunk people out. It wasn’t until he was only a few stoplights from the diner that he glanced at Lea. She seemed to be more pissed off than she usually was when she was around him. He wondered if it had anything to do with what drunk Dustin had told AJ at the prom. Lea’s sudden anger had basically been a nonverbal confession. “You know, you shouldn’t be pissed at your brother for saying something. Technically you were the one that showed me first. I basically knew.” He spoke softly and casually, enough that Lea but none of the other drunk kids too caught up in themselves could hear.
"I literally just said it was rude, Dustin." Lea hissed. "I'd rather have sex with Kevin than listen to you continue this conversation, and I've got no interest in that at all. Also thank you Blanche, making fun of me is very rude, I am not the meanest of them all," she bit her lip hard. Dustin didn't think that. Except he was drunk and more honest than usual which meant that maybe he did, "and there's no such thing as virgin-dar, Dustin. But nice announcement to everyone here." There was a brief moment of silence before AJ spoke again and Lea felt herself tense up. "Knew what?" She whisper-hissed back. "Still got no clue what you're going on about. All seems a bit farfetched to me. Also, if this is about what I assume it is, you watched me, I never showed you anything." She knew she could only play dumb to such an extent, but she wasn't about to give any full and official confirmation to him.
Quinn managed to still have the dignity to blush when Dustin mentioned that he was a virgin, though he leaned into his touch anyway. "I know," he mumbled, not mentioning that he was too. "Food is great though! So let's do that! Oh yeah, we can definitely find AJ sex," Quinn nodded eagerly. "Virgin-dar is totally not a thing though Blanche. Dustin's just teasing his sister because teasing sister's is fun. I tease mine all the time. "I think Aj would like to have his car unvirgined. Don't you AJ?" he asked. When Dustin laughed, he burst out into laughter even more, leaning in and wrapping his arms around his boyfriend. He leaned up to kiss him but missed and got his cheek, giggling again, before actually managing to find his lips.
"I wanna eat 12 burgers," Dustin announced, grinning widely. "I bet I can eat 12 burgers in 5 minutes. Who wants to bet with me and what are we betting for?" Smiling, he leaned through the window, patting AJ's cheek which hadn't been patted yet. "What type of girl is your dream girl? Or boy? I'm not homophobic at all," he said. "I'm sure there's lots of cute people in the diner!" He glanced towards Blanche, shaking his head. "It is a thing and Lea has it! Also, Lea calls me mean all the time so by definition, she is super rude. And also, you can't have sex with Kevin, you're just fif-teen. That is only halfway to thirty. I am 16 and therefore, mathematically, I am more thirty than you," he pointed out, a big smile spreading across his face when Quinn kissed his cheek. He was surprised when a real kiss followed, but it was a good surprise. Wrapping his arms and kissing him back enthusiastically, Dustin didn't pay any attention to the other people in the truck as he tried not to fall over at the next turn the truck took.
Blanche shook her head. "I could eat 13 burgers I bet—" Blanche said, more to Granny than anyone else. Granny let out a scoff. 'And it will all go to your hips!' Blanche wrinkled her nose, turning to her Granny. "Nu-uh! I can inhale any food I want, my hips aren't big at all!!" She said, making a face. "I could eat 20 burgers- I think Al's has a burger called the fat burger- what do you think that is? I could eat 2 of those!!! Maybe 3!! Do you think it's bigger than my head?" Blanche asked Lea, clearly oblivious to the situation at hand. She turned to ask Dustin if he was gunna eat a fat burger too, but she frowned seeing the two making out in the truck bed. 'Horny drunk teenagers can't control themselves!' "Uh-" Blanche looked over to AJ and Lea, and just pointed. "Are we almost there I'm staaarving!"
"Before you do it in the back of my truck just remember that this truck used to be my dad's and my parents have probably done it in their like a million times. And they fell in love in the 80's so they were into some freaky shit.” AJ called out as loudly as he could hoping that the thought was enough to break through their thick, drunken skulls. He turned back to Lea “I know you’re a smart girl I’ve seen your file. Playing dumb seems a little beneath you don’t you think?” He shrugged. AJ couldn’t decide which Parrish sibling was more annoying at the moment, the brother playing tonsil hockey in the bed of his truck or the sister with some kind of vendetta against AJ because he walked down a public school hallway and she hadn’t been paying enough attention. He had always been light on his feet. Dustin interrupted his thoughts with some question about AJ’s type and making a claim that he wasn’t homophobic. “Well you have a boyfriend. So…” AJ drug out the o sound and kept his eyes on the road. His eyes were going to get stuck in the back of his head if he kept rolling them as often as he was tonight. “I don’t have a type.” He wasn’t asexual, or maybe he was who really knew. He just knew that he hadn’t met a single person in the last two years that didn’t make him want to shove his head into a locker. He found a moment of reprieve when he spotted the diner up the road and sped up a bit to turn into the parking lot.
"If you eat that many burgers you can get seriously ill, so I'd advise against many, but whatever." Lea rolled her eyes. "It is not a thing that exists, and I can have sex with Kevin if I want to. I don't, but I can, and wow, congrats, math genius big brother. Obviously sixteen is closer to thirty than fifteen." Flicking her gaze to Blanche briefly she gave a shrug. "Maybe. Never seen one of them in person, so I don't know." She turned to AJ again and glared. "Not sure why you're snooping through my file, but yes. Maybe I'll even be valedictorian of the ACHS class of 2020. Doesn't mean squat." Thankfully, they pulled up to the diner before she'd needed to pull out her phone to drown out AJ with music, and as he parked, she unlocked the door and attempted to nudge Blanche out - maybe AJ would stop asking her questions, though if she allowed herself full honesty, she doubted it.
"12 burgers sounds so gross," Quinn wrinkled his nose. "Maybe like, 2 burgers at most is what I could do. Oh! Definitely fries though. So many frieds," he grinned. Quinn laughed when AJ commented about Dustin not being homophobic. The rest of the conversation was lost on him though. He was far too wrapped up in kissing Dustin in the back of the truck. It was proving a bit more difficult than he expected as they were jostled around in the bed of the truck. They managed to not get too tangled though and had continued to kiss until the truck finally stopped. Quinn definitely preferred a bed for kissing though, or against a wall, or- he shivered, not from the wind, and pulled away, grinning slightly. "Are we there yet?" he asked, licking his lips and looking around the parking lot.
Dustin pulled away from Quinn once the truck had finally stopped. He was torn between feeling happy that they'd finally arrived and could get burgers and being sad he had to stop kissing for a bit in order to eat. "Why didn't we go to Flopped?" Dustin asked as he saw the sign of the diner. "I love Flopped! They make the best waffles ever. Also, AJ, no sex has happened, for your information. Are you proud?" Prom was just amazing, and this truck journey was almost more fun than the dance itself. They should get food and then drive around and then find something super fun to do. Maybe they could go to the beach and go swimming together. But first, food. "I'm going to eat 12 burgers and no one is stopping me," Dustin announced as he placed his hands on the side of the truck. He swung his legs over the edge, but since he had miscalculated the distance from the ground he ended up on the parking lot floor with a loud yelp.
Lea unlocked the door, and had barely started nudging Blanche out of the truck when she jumped out. Blanche landed on her feet and stumbled forward, blindly walking forward. She watched as Dustin ate it and stopped and pointed. "He fell down!" She announced loudly, frowning slightly. Blanche patted her stomach, thinking about burgers. If she could be a burger, she would probably be one. "I want the biggest burger ever-- Hey! We can't go to flopped!" Blanche 'whispered'. "I work there and I'll get fired!" She shook her head, watching her curls bounce up and down. She patted her belly as it growled again and she looked down at it. 'I do wish you would wear things that covered your stomach... Did you have to wear a two piece to the prom? Granny mused, sadly. "Quiet you!" Blanche said, unclear if she was talking to her stomach or something else. Blanche looked to Lea. "Look at my tattoo!" She pointed to her side, the little bit of her tattoo peaking out from underneath her top. "I want food!" She jumped topics and started stumbling in the wrong direction to the diner.
AJ groaned. "I'm so proud of you two." He hopped out of his truck and slammed the door shut just as Dustin hopped out of the truck and fell to the pavement practically right in front of him. "Graceful." He bent down and grabbed for Dustin's hand, pulling him back up onto his feet and then brushing off a small amount of dust from his tux. He then turned to head for the diner, leaving Quinn to take care of his stumbling boyfriend. Blanche started zigzagging off towards the wrong side of the parking lot and AJ stomped over to Blanche and spun her to face towards the diner, begrudgingly helping direct her as all five made their way into the diner. "I am so sorry in advance, he whispered to the waitress when they walked in. And don't let them order 12 cheeseburgers." She just looked at him like he was insane and he smiled at her innocently. Then she rolled her eyes and led them to a booth.
Lea nodded at Blanche's comment. "Aren't you not 18? I'm impressed your parents let you have-" She blinked and gave a small sigh when Blanche started to run across the parking lot, half-ready to go and grab her before AJ managed to. He was way taller, he did reach her sooner than Lea would have been able to, despite the fact that she was fairly quick on her feet when she needed to be. Then they were entering the diner and Lea made a small face as AJ commented to the waitress, but when she looked at Lea, Lea offered a grin. "Seating us further away from others is probably a good idea." She nodded, seeing where the waitress bought them. "So, um, how are we organizing where we're sitting?" She asked, moving a bit more towards Dustin but not yet into the booth.
Quinn watched as Dustin tried, and failed to get out of the truck. With a slight yelp of shock, he moved to look over, making sure that he was alright. At least he didn't look hurt. "I know he did," he replied to Blanche, pouting slightly. He managed to get down with a little bit more grace. Well, at least he landed on his feet, which was something considering how high the truck was and how drunk he was. For a moment, he watched as Blanche wandered off in the wrong way, snickering as AJ went to get her. Then he reached down and helped Dustin up. "You okay? Still good to eat a stupid number of burgers?" he teased. He took Dustin's hand and followed Lea into the diner, cocking his head to the side when Lea looked confused. "I'm sitting next to Dustin," he said simply, moving into the booth and looking expectantly at him. "And then I'm gonna order food and it's gonna be the best food ever.”
Dustin let his boyfriend pull him up from the ground and then. "Yup." he nodded in confirmation. "But it's not a stupid amount, it is the best amount." Once Blanche had been directed into the right direction he staggered into the diner, holding onto Quinn's hand tightly to not lose direction. When they crossed the waitress, he gave her a bright smile and a little wave with his hand before he was pulled towards one booth. When Lea moved towards him, he let go of Quinn's hand to pull his arms around her, mostly to keep steady. Standing upright was getting pretty difficult. He rested his chin on top of her head. "You are so short!" He laughed. "Why are you so short? Did you not eat your greens, hmm?" Still smiling, he let go of her. His head felt way too fuzzy. Reaching for the edge of the table, he pretty much crawled into the booth Quinn was sitting in, before leaning against him and looking at the other three expectantly. "Who's gonna come sit with me?" He held out his arms, knocking over a sugar pot in the process.
Blanche giggled the entire time that AJ had to direct her into the diner, continuing to giggle even as they entered. "I am going to eat so much food!" Blanche announced. She was totally ready to pig out on everything that was in sight. She was going to get a large milkshake too. Granny was hovering over her helplessly trying to encourage her not to- she'd regret it in the morning. "I think I should totally buy like... 5 milkshakes. There's five of us, and I can prove I can eat five people's worth of milkshakes, wouldn't that be so cool??" Dustin sat and called for someone to go sit, and Blanche's hand shot in the air. "Meeeee!! Me me me! I'l go sit!!!!" And she dropped herself into the booth with a loud laugh. "Wanna see my tattoo?"
With the three drunk people all stuffing themselves on one side of a booth clearly made for two, that left the other side empty for Lea and AJ. Joy. He was sure that Lea would be absolutely thrilled to be able to share a seat with him again. For whatever reason, Lea seemed to hate him more than some of the other kids at school. He hadn’t even done anything to her. Yet. The constant attitude was distracting. He climbed into the booth after Lea, an extinct taught to him by watching his father. Corner tables were preferable, sitting in the seat with both walls touching your back so that a clear view of the entire place could be kept in sights. Seats that faced the front entryway and seats that allowed for quick mobility. The last thing a cop wanted was to be trapped in a booth or have his back turned when an armed robber stormed into a restaurant. He offered her a smile dripping with sarcasm when he dropped into the seat next to hers and leaned back to glance at the menu. He wasn’t hungry. He just wanted to go home. When the waitress came to get drink orders, AJ went first. “Do you have anything that can make me forget this night ever happened? If not I guess water works too.”
Lea hated this. She should have just gone off with her other friends - because while them being drunk might have driven her up a wall, it wouldn't quite be like this. "I eat more vegetables than you do." She snapped at Dustin, begrudgingly getting into the booth opposite the trio and tensing up as AJ got in. He wouldn't dare question her more out in public, would he? He couldn't. She'd been so stupid to even let him become aware of what she was, and it had been on accident. "Ignore all of them," she sighed to the waitress. "Just water for me." She ordered, before setting her back against the back of the booth's seat. This would be done soon and she could back to her neat and calm and organized bedroom and never have to think about it again. She raised an eyebrow at the group across from her and AJ. "Please don't order absurd amounts of food, okay?"
Quinn smiled happily when Dustin moved to sit next to him, before picking up the menu and looking through it. Most of the words were pretty blurry, but a few stood out. Fries for one. That was what he wanted. Cheese fries. But the server was focusing on other people. "Excuse you," he said to AJ. "You're having a great time and you know it," he turned to the waitress and grinned. "This is my boyfriend," he said, patting Dustin's head before going ahead and ordering food for himself. "And they want," he pointed to Blanche and Dustin. "Lots of burgers I think, but I forget exactly what. Just a lot," he pouted for a moment, before shrugging. "Oh! Yes I want to see a tattoo! I almost got a big Q on my arm," he said grinning. It was going to be in the fancy lettering that he used in his insignia for Q.
Once Blanche sat down in the booth, Dustin pulled both his arms around her in a tight hug. She was super nice for sitting next to him. "I don't want lots of burgers," Dustin protested when everyone started ordering. "I just want 12 burgers. Hamburgers. That is not a lot of burgers. Four-thousand-seven-hundred-eighty-eight, now that would be a lot of burgers. But not 12. Oh! And I want a milkshake. Vanilla milkshake. And chocolate cake as dessert." He gave the waitress his most winning smile, which was half-radiant and half-innocent. "Oh! And she-" He pointed at Lea "She is having pancakes because she is my sister so she is getting pancakes." He leaned over the table to grab her hand for a second, holding it up. "This is her," he said. "And yes, that is my boyfriend," he continued, turning towards Quinn. Maybe he should kiss him now to show he was really his boyfriend? But that could wait. "And she is the girl who has a crush on me and also she is very drunk. And I wanna see her tattoo, although I hope it's not on her butt," he said. "Ohh! I nearly forgot about AJ!" Dustin turned towards the other guy. "He is hot and he drove us here and he has a truck. Do you want to go on a date with him?"
Blanche squealed when Dustin hugged her, but joyfully hugged him back. "I want 3 cheeseburgers because I like cheese, but could they be loaded with pickles because I think I like pickles more than I like myself--" Blanche said, grinning. "Oh and a chocolate milkshake please!" Always remember to say please and thank you-- yes, she can use her manners. Blanche laughed as Dustin pointed to Lea, but flushed once he started on her. "I don't have a crush on him!" She objected, frowning. "I just- always have stuff to do!!" She tried that poor excuse, before brightening once they all wanted to see her tattoo. She stood, turned to her side and pointed to where the tattoo was poking out from her top. Wow, it sure was great wearing a two piece dress. She pulled up the hem, so they could see the full thing-- a circle of branches and flowers with the latin woven in the middle of it. "Cool right, it hurt a lot. Don't get a tattoo on your ribs because it hurts a l o o o o t." Blanche said, before she clapped her hands together and pointed to AJ and Dustin. "See! I told you that you were pretty! He didn't forget about you either! Don't be heart- oh!" Blanche turned to the waitress. "Do you? Wanna go on a date with him? I think you'd have fun, he's nice."
“He’s kidding” AJ turned toward the waitress immediately after Dustin offered them a date and Blanche reinforced the idea. “I don’t date.” The waitress scurried off quickly after frantically scribbling down everybody’s ridiculous order. Apparently, she had no interest in dating him anyways. Maybe she had heard of him too, he sure hoped so. At this point he might as well try to be as infamous as possible and maybe someday when some starving novelist writes a book about his father AJ will make it in as a secondary antagonist. “Can we like speed up the eating thing? I’d like to be home sometime before prom next year so.” He tapped against his wrist as if there were a watch strapped onto it. He turned to Lea, “Are they this annoying sober or are we just lucking out tonight?”
"Also, that is literally the worst way to try and get someone to go on a date." Lea sighed. "Yes, I am his sister in case the almost matching hair didn't give it away." She smiled briefly at Dustin - though he was drunk and likely would deny anything he said in the morning, it felt a bit nice to see him care for her, even if in an odd way. "He's my brother and Dustin, aren't I the best sister ever?" She giggled, before turning over to AJ. "Can't speak for the ones who aren't biologically related to me, but this is a different Dustin than normal. He's significantly more touchy-feely." She ran a hand through her hair, giving the end a small fluff.
"Ohhh, that is pretty!" Dustin exclaimed as Blanche showed them her tattoo. He'd never be able to get one, too. His parents would murder him if he did. He gave AJ a pout when he told the waitress he wouldn't date her. "But she was pretty," he mumbled, crossing his arms in front of his chest. He glanced over the table to look at his sister. "Yeah, you're the best sister I have." He stuck out his tongue at her, and then laughed. "Oh no, AJ, you got it wrong. We're sober. I mean, Blanche isn't, but Quinn and I are. We did not drink any alcohol. And I am not touchy-feely. I just like to know I'm not alone, you know?" He nodded before reaching out grab Lea's wrist to press a smacking kiss to her hand. "Like, I got all of you, and you're all pretty nice. Even though I get the feeling AJ is pissed off with me? He called me annoying." Frowning, he turned towards Quinn. "I'm hungry, do you know when the food is coming? You taste really awesome but I want burgers right now."
Quinn hummed to himself for a bit as the others ordered their food. Three burgers was a lot of food. He couldn't imagine eating that many with how much liquid they drank. At least he had that much sense. "She is cute right?" he asked, looking to AJ with a grin. "You should find a girl or guy or whatever," he said with a laugh, leaning against Dustin. "Oh that is pretty," he said looking at the tattoo, poking it quickly, before grinning. "We drank a lot of stuff. I told you the punch was spiked or something," there was no other explanation for why he felt like he was drunk. "So.... there," he poked his boyfriend's cheek. "I am not normally like this," he said to AJ and Lea. "I'm normally not drunk," he grinned, laughing at his own joke. "Also, I know I taste good but you can't eat me, that would be painful and not fun,"
Blanche giggled loudly when Quinn poked her, cringing away. "Doooon't! I'm awfully ticklish! Oooh, I shouldn't have said that--" Blanche looked at Dustin and Quinn suspiciously, before looking at the waitress. She seemed to be exasperated, before rushing off to go get their food. "And I'm not that drunk!" She claimed loudly, "I am only like... averagely drunk. I've never done alcohol before, I've never even smoked. It's 'cause my dad is a doctor and he'd kill me himself if I even tried. And if I don't get a milkshake, I'll probably die...." Blanche frowned and sank back into her seat, looking very upset. "And then I'll become a ghost and I'll haunt the creator of milkshakes! Who do you think is the creator of milkshakes?" Blanche leaned across the table to Lea and AJ. "They can't answer, they're drunk so they don't know the answer. I bet it's the guy with the mustache and the chicken. Colonel What'sit. He probably created milkshakes."
AJ shrugged his shoulders, “I think I’m just going to spend the rest of my life alone.” He couldn’t picture anybody that he would even want to date or even sleep with anyways. Maybe when he started taking some of the college courses this year to get some free credits he would find someone. He couldn’t imagine actually dating someone. He wasn’t sure if it was because of him or them. Dustin made some long speech about not being drunk, which Quinn immediately refuted. Then Blanche leaned over the table as if Dustin and Quinn couldn’t hear them and claimed to AJ and Lea that they were more drunk than her. He was about to make some sarcastic comment that was going to go over her head when the waitress came back to the table carrying the drinks. “The food will be coming right out.” She mentioned then scurried off. The good thing about diners like this, they were quick. “If we are lucky we can get our food, eat and then get you all home.” He mumbled to Lea.
Lea rolled her eyes at Dustin. "I'm your only sister, dumbass. But love you too." She blew a kiss across the table, laughing a little bit when he grabbed her hand again. "You might all want to consider your level of voice, as we're in a public space." Though soon enough she turned and flipped her body to face AJ, moving to sit cross-legged on the booth's bench. "Yeah, as much as I'm none too excited about agreeing with you, the sooner I can get home and to my own bed the better." She looked past him to see if she could spot the waitress - at least they hadn't come at a time that was all too popular with the diner, though Lea had already found $50 in her purse to leave as a tip - as a minimum, to put up with everything that the poor waitress had dealt with.
Dustin shook his head. "I don't wanna eat you, silly," he said, filing away the fact that Blanche was ticklish for future reference. "You're not gonna spend your life alone. I will get you a nice wife. Or husband or any other partner. Or a cat. Cats are good companions." He nodded in determination. AJ would not be alone. No way. When the waitress came with their drinks, Dustin excitedly reached for his milkshake. His milkshake was amazing. He proceeded to tell the others this, twice, because he was not sure that they heard him the first time so he repeated this fact a bit louder for the second time. And then he tried Blanche's milkshake, just in case it was tastier than his own. When the waitress returned with their food, Dustin stared up at her in awe and blew her a kiss. She actually did put down a small plate with pancakes in front of his sister. That was good. "If you don't date AJ can you please marry my sister so I can get a family discount, please?" He took a big bite out of his first burger - for some reason she had only gotten him two, but he couldn't be too mean to her or else she wouldn't date any of them. As soon as he swallowed, he stole a piece of pancake from Lea and dunked it in syrup. "I love you all," he announced before pressing a syrupy kiss to Quinn's cheek.
Quinn leaned against Dustin for a moment, opening his mouth to say something, before breaking out into a large yawn. He was surprisingly tired, and it wasn't even that late. It was probably because he was drunk. Maybe. He kind of just wanted to eat and curl up with Dustin. "Aw man... I should have gotten a milkshake," pouting when he heard Blanche talk about them. They sounded good. He glanced over when Dustin got his drink, looking over at the other two across from him. He didn't hear what they were saying, but reached out to grab Dustin's milkshake and took a couple sips himself. "You are right, they are good. I should have gotten one," he mumbled. Quinn perked up with the arrival of his food, grinning and picking up his fork to dig into the fries. He hummed happily, "Fries are the best," he said, mouth full before swallowing. "Ew you're all sticky!" he whined to Dustin, squirming slightly before laughing. "Don't do that," he teased, before leaning over and kissing his cheek. He glanced over to the food that Blanche got and bit his lower lip. Maybe he should have gotten a burger, they smelled good too.
The one positive that came out of the food arriving was that the group fell mostly silent. Besides a couple of breaks from eating for someone to make some random drunk comment about which food they should have gotten like Quinn or Dustin’s random declaration of love, everyone ate peacefully. AJ sipped his water as he watched the others eat. He supposed if he was being forced to hang around others this group wasn’t the absolute worst. It still sucked. AJ wasn’t sure how, but the five managed to finish their meals and pay, with a very generous tip left by Lea, and make it back to the truck without actually being kicked out of the diner from noise complaints. It was a miracle. He attempted to help Dustin and Quinn back up into the bed of the drunk, afraid that the two wouldn’t be able to make it up by themselves. They all found their previous spots in the truck and soon he was back on the road. “No more stops. We’re going to Dustin and Lea’s. Quinn are you staying with them?”
Lea breathed a sigh of relief (and of fresh air) once the group exited the diner, and pulled herself back into the truck, sitting next to AJ before rolling her eyes and giving a small huff. "Mum's not gonna be happy if you bring home your boyfriend, big brother." Though she knew that even if Dustin could hear her, he might ignore it. "Also, wait." she squeaked, "How do you know where we live?" She turned to AJ, setting a hand on his shoulder. "You haven't been spying, have you?" She whispered to him. But soon enough, they arrived at the Parrish residence and Lea moved to open the door. "Umm, Blanche?" She bit her lip. "Can you move, and if not, do you mind me literally climbing over or around you to get out? That's sort of the only way."
Pouting, Dustin stumbled out of the diner. After having finished his two burgers, the waitress hadn't given him more and instead, they had paid and left the diner. After trying to give AJ a kiss on the cheek for helping him into the truck, he let himself fall back against Quinn. As the truck started moving, he let his head fall down onto Quinn's lap, trying to ignore the fact that he was feeling quite sick now after his milkshake, two burgers and parts of the pancakes. He was also feeling a bit sleepy. And, he needed to pee. "No more stops?" He frowned. "But I need to pee." Still, the car went on driving, and then AJ asked if Quinn would be staying with them for the night. Dustin nodded. "Uh, yeah, cause it's prom and you're supposed to have sex at prom night," he mumbled. "And, like, Quinnnn can always climb up the tree into my window." Once the car came to a halt, Dustin made no attempts to move. "You are comfy," he said, reaching up with his hand into Quinn's hair. "We should totally sleep here. I'm tired."
Quinn the meal went by surprisingly quietly after that. Quinn finished up his fries, quite happy with his choice by the end. He was shocked that Dustin had managed to eat all of that food though. With a laugh, Quinn was able to get up onto the truck with AJ's help and then let out a slight "oomph" as Dustin toppled onto him. His hands immediately went to his boyfriend's hair, playing with it lightly. "You should have gone when we left," Quinn said with a nod, head moving faster than it normally would. He was suddenly a bit dizzy. "Like I did," he mumbled, the bumps becoming more annoying than anything else. He remembered the trip to Al's being more fun, but then he had Dustin had been making out then. "I am totally staying over," Quinn said with a nod. Climbing a tree sounded like a perfectly reasonable way to get into the Parrish house. He'd done it before. With a laugh, Quinn looked into the window at the others for a moment, before gently nudging Dustin. "No it's not soft here. It's a truck. I want to go to your bed," he said with a pout, whining softly as he squirmed and pushed at Dustin to get up.
"Move?" Blanche asked absentmindedly. She had been zoning in and out since she had practically wolfed down three cheeseburgers and a milkshake at the diner. Occasionally, she would talk in a low voice under her breath to her Granny when she thought the other weren't whispering. Blanche's throat was probably going to be sore tomorrow from how load she was being all night. Blanche fumbled with the door before doing her best to stumble out so she could let Lea by. "Oooooh, AJ already knew?" She poked her head. "Does he know where I live too? I live by the... The big.... That way!" Blanche's arm pointed down the road. She didn't live too far from there, really. "Oh. Am I gunna have to walk home??? Oh no- wait! I didn't wear heels! Lea!!!! Look at my sparkly shoes!" For emphasis, she held up her leg and pointed.
“Well it’s hard to watch your every move without knowing where you live.” AJ shrugged casually as if this was something completely normal to say. He waited a long moment for the appropriate amount of discomfort or fear to settle in before answering honestly, “Nah, I took your brother home a couple of weeks ago after-“ He paused only briefly, “school one day.” No need to mention the blood thing, everyone knew about. Chances were Lea’s friends had something to do with it. He jumped out of the car when he remembered that the last time Dustin had tried to climb out of his truck he fell out of it. He helped Dustin out, patting him on the back “Maybe you could not try to kiss me this time.” He helped Quinn out after wards. “Your call,” He said to Lea, “Stays or goes. Just remember that if you choose no the two might be just as loud arguing with you.”
"I'm sorry?" Lea squeaked, eyes narrowing. "Oh. Not a funny joke, FYI." She raised an eyebrow at Blanche. "Your shoes are great and I love them, but I also need to leave right now, if you'll excuse me, sorry." She pushed herself up and over Blanche, before landing neatly on the ground outside of the truck. Lea watched AJ help Dustin and Quinn out of the back of the car before raising an eyebrow. "Oh, it's so far from my call, but I appreciate you thinking it is." She crossed her arms and faced Dustin and Quinn. "Can you all make it into the house on your own, or do you need my help?"
"Are you saying I'm a bad kisser? Is there something wrong with me?" Dustin wanted to know, pouting. He took a few steps but it was difficult to walk upright. He nearly landed on his ass as he crossed the distance between him and his sister to wrap his arms around her. "You're still so small!" he exclaimed. "Like, you're small and cute like a tiny sea horse." He tilted his head, looking towards the building. "Is mum still awake?" he asked. "Because I wanna tell her all about prom but I also don't want her to hear us having sex so that would be not good," he said. "Maybe we should all climb in through the window, that is fun! Blanche, AJ, are you staying, too? I think you should stay. It would be super fun and you can sleep on my floor or in my closet. There's lots of space now." He had to snort at his own joke.
"You're the best kisser!" Quinn said, slightly outraged that someone would say that. "He's the best and you are so wrong about it," he said to AJ as he managed to get down out of the truck. He leaned against it, pouting and crossing his arms, giving AJ a glare. Blanche was still in the car though, so he turned around quickly and walked over to her door, patting her on the head. "Bye," he said with a smile. "No more crushing on my boyfriend though," Quinn added before moving over to Dustin. "Your mom will probably kill me," Quinn said when Dustin mentioned her, shivering slightly. "But we can't have sex if everyone is in the room," he complained. Quinn wanted to have sex, but he also wanted to sleep. He wasn't sure which was winning out. "But we should sneak in!" he said, looking Lea. "Right?"
Blanche started to giggle, mostly at the mention of sex. 'Are you five years old?' her Granny asked, exasperated. 'You are most certainly NOT spending the night. Your parents are coming home tomorrow afternoon and you're going to have to drag your hungover butt out of bed to make it look like you aren't hungover'. Blanche pressed herself to AJ's truck, using it to steady herself as she played with her skirt. "Sneak him in! Sneak him in!" Blanche 'whispered' excitedly. "Like ninjas! Oooh AJ. We could be ninjas! Let's be ninjas- or maybe we should do a ninja themed prom next year, yeah?"
AJ wasn’t sure he ended up getting blamed for Dustin kissing him on the cheek. Arguing with two drunk boyfriends wasn’t going to change anything though. “Sorry, guess I just can’t control myself around him.” AJ said completely monotone. AJ had no interest in staying for this sleepover if Dustin had even been sober when mentioning it to the group. Seemed a little too campy for his tastes. He was just getting used to actually spending anytime around other people his age again. “Well have fun with the sex thing. Lea, have fun getting grounded when your mom inevitably catches you. I’m going home. Peace out everyone.” He gave a short wave before heading back to the driver’s side and climbing back up into the truck. “You can be a ninja at your house. I just need directions.”
Lea glared at Quinn, AJ, and Dustin. "I don't even want you to come by, but as you're Dustin's boyfriend, I've got no say in that. I live here, and if mum asks where I've been, I'm only going to tell her I was trying to be a good sister and make sure you didn't freaking die." She whipped her body around and began stomping toward the house, before turning back to them, "and don't make any choices you're going to regret, please?" She attempted to make eye contact with Dustin, before turning her key in the lock and opening the door.
Dustin pouted at Lea's words and the glare she sent in their direction. Unless he was riling her up on purpose, he didn't like it when she was mad at him. And she looked very mad now. "Leave the door open! I'll be.... like five seconds. Or maybe, 50 seconds. Or 51." He was a bit confused by her last comment, what choices was she talking about? He swayed over to the truck to give Blanche a hug. "Goodnight," he said. "You're definitely short enough to be a ninja." He stumbled back towards Quinn, holding himself up by gripping the other boy's shoulders. "You're coming through my window, yes?" He pressed another kiss to his lips, grinning, before letting to and making his way to the front of the house. There was a loud, clattering sound as he fell over a piece of porch decoration made out of metal.
Quinn blinked when everyone was suddenly gone. When did that happen? He waved to AJ when he was in the car and then to Blanche. "Yeah, window," he said with a slight pout. The window was so much more difficult than walking in, and he wanted to just sleep now and cuddle with Dustin. But he kissed Dustin back and made his way over to the window. Wincing, Quinn looked over at the door, darting over to the tree. This was going to be very difficult in a suit.
Blanche giggled loudly and hugged Dustin back as tight as she could. "Not all Ninja's are short!" She declared loudly! She was starting to get pretty sleepy, and she climbed back in, waving to Quinn. "Goodnight!" She practically sang, before plopping herself back into the truck an fumbling with the seat belt. "Take a left!" she saang. "I live three lefts and a right down from here, I think. I've never been here before, but it's on my way home from school, so I think it's the same way. I can take you-- but we can't be ninjas at my house." Blanche pouted sadly. "There's no one to sneak by! The house! It's emmmmmmpty. Isn't that just sad?"
AJ was surprised to see that Blanche was apparently perceptive enough to give direction back to her house from Dustin and Lea's. She made a comment about being alone at the house, but AJ stayed mostly quiet the whole ride to her house. He was afraid that she would start on another tangent if he said anything that might set her off on one. Silence was definitely the best route here. He pulled into her empty driveway and saw the entire house was pitch black. She really was staying here alone tonight. He groaned and jumped out of his, remembering that he still had her keys. He helped her up to the door and fumbled through the keys until finding the one that unlocked the house. He flipped on the first set of lights and followed her in, following her upstairs to her room to make sure she could make it without falling down the stairs or something equally as horrible. She practically face planted onto the bed after flipping on the light. He glanced around, taking in the open journal sitting on her desk and skimming over it slightly. Mostly just talk of her grandma. The same one she mentioned earlier in the night in the truck? "Okay well I'll get you some water and then I'm heading out." He stated, unsure if she actually heard him or not. He jogged down the steps and checked all of the cabinets until finding the one with glasses before filling a glass for her. After dropping it off on her desk and was downstairs again, tossing her keys on the kitchen counter and heading out the front door. He didn't get very far before remembering what his own mother got like on nights like these, and she was practically a seasoned veteran. "Damn it." He cursed himself before digging in his truck and pulling out the book bag with his spare clothes and going back into the house and locking the door. He grabbed the keys off the counter on his way to the bathroom and stuffed them back into his bag before changing. Apparently he was staying there for the night.

a belated birthday surprise
Parties: Rosemund Reed and Oz Montague
Location: Rosemund’s apartment
Summary: A backdated para from early June with some cuteness between these two babies before it all went terribly wrong.
@rosemund-reed
Oz:
The Dominant had the town car pull up in front of her admittedly rather humble residence. Cute though. Far better than anything he had to rent in his younger years admittedly. He looked at his phone again, surprised again by her flirty message. The shy kitten had shown she could have claws. He was intrigued to see what would happen tonight and looked forward to a little more time with the beautiful woman.
Rose:
No matter how many times she tidied her apartment, there still remained some object that had a spec of dust or needed to be moved slightly to the left. After being in the Dominant’s home, her small, cramped, and barely furnished room must look utterly pathetic. Still she was proud of the small birthday banner that she managed to get from the store as well as the cake in the middle with the unlit candles. Although she had no idea how old Oz was, seven felt like the right number. It was after all supposed to be lucky. Seeing his car pull up from her window, Rose opened the door for him, attempting to strike the most alluring pose that she could.
Oz:
Oz stepped out of his vehicle, withdrawing a bottle of wickedly expensive wine and a bouquet of cheerful flowers acquired at the pretty little flower shop he had found earlier that day. He walked through the small residence to find the girl waiting for him and putting on a bit of a show as she did so. Setting down the bottle and flowers, he reached out a hand, tugging her out of the pose and plying her lips with a long, slow kiss. “Thank you for the warm welcome Rose but what …” He gestured to the banner, “Is all this?”
Rose:
“Please come in.” She stepped aside, letting him into her home. Although there wasn’t much, she had tried to make the place look slightly festive with a few balloons and one of those cheap plastic, tablecloths that she hoped read happy birthday to put on the table with the cake. Rose shifted self-consciously, starting to doubt her supposed bright idea. “A belated birthday?” She bit her lip. Although the brunette was certain that being dominated by Oz would be more of a gift for her, she had tried.
Oz:
It was simple and despite himself, he was charmed. Absolutely charmed. “And does that make you my birthday gift, Rosemund?” He settled a hand on her hip and pulled her in close. His free hand pushed through her soft dark hair, dancing over the line of her jaw as her earrings sparkled in the light. “Lucky me.” He teased before capturing her lips in a slow kiss, designed to make her melt into his arms.
Rose:
Rose grinned, feeling slightly less worried that she had made a mistake. “But I’m not wearing a bow.” She knew that part of the rules demanded that she wear something pretty and skimpy under anything she wore in case the mood struck her Dom. She blushed, realizing that she had come to think of Oz as her Dom. She knew that he could be with dozens of other, but even the briefest bit of attention had her craving more. She chuckled, shaking her hair free. “I’m the lucky one.” She stood on her toes to return his kiss. “So cake or spankings first? I want this day to be all about you.”
Oz:
“Hmmm … let’s see.” He tipped his head to the side, looking around the petite submissive to tug up the skirt of her dress. “What’s this? Practically perfect again. How am I supposed to enjoy my cake if your bottom looks like that?” He teased, laughing softly. Oz brushed another slow kiss over his lips before breaking it off to look down at Rose. Dusting a finger down one high cheekbone, he nodded toward the couch. “Come…. You know I like your face better when there are tears in those gorgeous eyes.”
Rose:
Grinning, Rose teasingly pushed his hand away. “It’s called having your cake and eating it too, sir.” He could have ordered her to strip and lay across the table next to the cake, and she would do so without even a thought. She closed her eyes, breathing shallowly as he took such gentle care of her. He might like hurting her, but the combination of the pain and pleasure always had her ruining her panties with just a few words of his. She nodded, taking his hand to practically drag him across the couch. “Does this mean I get to find out how old you are?”
Oz:
Oz followed the girl to the couch. It wasn’t exactly a great distance in her small apartment. He took a seat on the low sofa. Patting his lap, he nodded at the girl. “Up and over young lady. It appears I must be very strict with you. Naughty English girls…. What is an old man like me to do?” he laughed out as he slowly adjusted her position on his lap, putting her hands together at the hollow of her back. Using his tie, he bound her small hands together. “There … that’s better, now … let’s take a look at that bottom.” Hooking his fingers under the hem of her skirt, he pulled it up slowly and tucked the fabric under bound hands. Smoothing his hand up and down each thigh to the crest of her ass, he noted the silky texture. Unmarked even. “Before I begin, remind me of your safeword, Rose.”
Rose:
The sight of Oz on her small couch made the Dom look all the larger and more intimidating. Perhaps she had been playing a dangerous game taking a man like this into her bed, but never before had Rose felt so wanted and so hot. She craved his touch, his words, his orders. If it were possible, she would do everything within her power just to please him. “Old, sir?” She lifted a brow, looking at him for only a moment before placing herself across his lap. She wiggled her bottom, knowing that it was one of her favorite parts of her. While the bruises on her bottom healed from last time, there was still a mark or two left from Oz’s hand that served to remind Rose about being good. She couldn’t even think of going to another when Oz had marked her so thoroughly. She bit her lip, shifting a bit on his lap as she felt the breeze when he lifted her skirt, wondering if going without panties had been a bad idea. She gulped nervously. There was nothing to be done about it now. Her hands were bound and she was completely at his mercy. “It’s red, Dominus. And yellow if I need you to slow down.”
Oz:
“Positively ancient.” He teased in response as his hand continued to glide over her pale skin. “Good girl. And if you can’t speak, knock or tap me twice and I will stop to check in.” He reminded carefully before lifting his hand and applying a harsh spank to her rather perfect little bottom. He toyed with her, watching that subtle bounce that really only happened when you were young and everything was so damned firm. Without preamble he slipped one finger into her core and tested her. “Not nearly wet enough. Obviously you need more, don’t you, little Rose?”
Rose:
She snorted at that. In her mind, he couldn’t have been more than forty. Certainly Oz was older than her, but that didn’t mean a thing to her aside from the fact that he had more practice in what they were doing. She would never let a younger Dom inflict pain in such a way. With Oz, she trusted that he would push her limits without doing any lasting damage. Even though she had yet to use her safe words, she was certain that he would stop immediately should the need arise. She let out a slight squeak when his hand connected with her ass. She did love the way that he warmed her up. “Yes please. I need so much more. Please sir.”
Oz:
“I know, dear Rose. Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of you.” He taunted, low and husky. He spanked her firm bottom again and again, plying the skin with wicked strikes over her ass and down her thighs. He made sure to add several extra to that spot on the low curve, the one that would make sitting ache for several days. “Hmmmm … there you go. Warm enough for cake. I’ll give you a proper session after we eat. Wouldn’t you like that, kitten?”
Rose:
Rose nodded. She knew that he would leave her utterly satisfied. The marks he left on her made her remember the moments of pleasure that they shared along with the pain that felt so right. She started rocking in his lap, pushing herself towards his hand when she expected each slap. “Thank you, Dominus for taking the time to correct me.” She was certain that her skin was flushed a lovely shade of pink. She looked up at him with watery eyes, half focused. She normally was one to behave for him, but at the mention of cake, she whined a bit. “Now?” She had been so proud of what she made him, but she desired more than sitting by his feet while he ate.
Oz:
Oz chuckled at her little whine. “Yes. But don’t worry. I have a fun little game for you to play while I enjoy that delicious treat.” He gave her ass a firm slap and then sat back. “Take off the dress and go on to get me a slice.” He instructed firmly before reaching for the small carry sack that he had brought with him. The remote controlled toy was thick, only a fraction smaller than Oz’s cock. He liked to fill a girl up, make sure she felt it all the way through. “We’ve teased about this enough. I thought an at-home trial was a good idea before we went out … wouldn’t you agree, Rose?”
Rose:
She couldn’t think what Oz possible could have in mind for her to do while he ate the cake. Most of the toys were safely in Oz’s playroom as Rosemund usually came to him. She hissed at the last firm slap, gingerly getting off of the table to stand. Peeling the dress over her head, Rose made certain that Oz would have a clear view of his handy work as she walked towards the kitchen. She made a show of bending over to search the various drawers and cabinets knowing full well where everything was. “An at home trial?” She looked over, pulling out a white dish and fork. “You mean of the?” She blushed, swallowing thickly as she placed the slice of cake on the dish. “But shouldn’t I get warmed up before we move on to that?” She wasn’t even sure that it would fit.
Oz:
Oz was enjoying the pleasant sight of her little red bottom as she walked around the small place. He could practically reach out and touch her. “Oh, I think you’re warm enough.” he teased with a warm chuckle at her bright blush. “Bring me my treat, Rose. Then I want you to come here and stand in front of me. We’re going to play a game tonight. How many times can a naughtly little English girl cum?”
Rose:
She whimpered thinking of all that they could do together. Last time she had left his penthouse in tears but more satisfied than she ever had been. “But…” She bit her lip, realizing that if she were to argue with him, she would only end up over his lap. Oz would drive her to the edge, but he respected her limits. She’d have time to adjust to the size of any toy that he brought. She nodded, handing him the cake. “But don’t you want to enjoy your cake first?” She shifted nervously. Even though she would love to cum, she wanted to see what he thought of the cake first. She had after all worked hard to get it perfect.
Oz:
Oz was amused by her reply. “Come … sit on my knee and we can enjoy this pretty cake together.” He instructed quietly. She was adorable and he particularly liked the whimper. He’d have to work on getting more of that from her. He wrapped his hand around her narrow waist while he reached for the cake with the other. “Did you make this yourself?”
Rose:
“Yes, Dominus.” Her face lit up with a smile at the invitation. She’d momentarily forgotten her sore bottom as she sat on Oz’s lap, almost hopping up again with a hiss. It stung but not enough for her to complain with more than a whimper. She leaned against him, trying her best to keep the pressure off the bottom. “I did, although I had help.”
Oz:
“There’s a good girl.” He murmured as his hand settled at her hip, half cradling the girl against his chest. “Well aren’t you clever.” he continued as he took a bite. “Hmmm… that’s very good. Have you tried it yet?” he asked before taking another bite himself. Then he held a forkful up for her to taste. “Try your handiwork.” Oz instructed softly as his hand slid down from her hip to her core. The teasing soon followed, accompanying them as he polished off the rather delicious slice of cake.
Rose:
She sighed, glad that she had made him proud. With the help of his arm around her, she didn’t feel the full sting of her weight. It was more a pleasant reminder of his desire to spank her. “I haven’t. I trusted that Cressida knew what she was doing.” The woman was a baker after all. She had to know. She blushed a bit, opening her mouth for him to feed her a bit of the cake. She moaned as she tasted the sweetness of the cake accompanied by his fingers teasing her core.
Oz:
The name struck him as familiar and he blinked for a second before mentally shrugging and carrying on with his consumption of that particularly delicious cake. It really was quite good. He fed her small bites of cake as he ate himself. His fingertips danced over her sex, making sure she would be wet enough for his little game. Sometimes kisses followed bites of cake. “Thank you for my birthday cake, Rosepetal.”
Rose:
Rose licked the fork, trying to make a show out of eating the cake. She squirmed as his fingers danced around her folds, teasing her to the point of near desperation. Since she had first been with Oz, there was little time when she didn’t desire more of him. “I am just sorry that it was late, sir.” She had planned something far nicer for his actual birthday, but those plans failed spectacularly when the cake had burned, leaving her apartment smelling like smoke. At least the odor had finally cleared. She only hoped that Lord Montague had a happy birthday with whomever he might have spent the day with.
Oz:
“I think you have made up for it enough, dear girl.” He murmured as he set down the now empty plate. Turning Rose’s slim body so her back was pressed to his chest, he pushed two fingers into her core. “Hmmm … nice and wet for me. Such a good girl you are.” He praised as he reached for the vibrator. “This one has a very fun remote control. We’re going to try it out here and then sometime soon, I am going to take you out. A movie. The theatre perhaps. And I am going to tell you to be very good and very quiet as I play with the remote in my pocket. Won’t that be fun?” he taunted as he removed his fingers and pressed the toy into the girl’s slick pussy.
Rose:
Whimpering, Rose arched towards him. His fingers always filled her so well, but his cock was what she craved. She wished that they were both wearing less so that she could feel his skin against her own, yet the material rubbed against her, teasing her in a way that made her groan. “Just for you, Dominus.” She looked at the vibrator, nodding her head. “Fun?” She did wonder what that meant. She knew that certain toys had extra features, but she didn’t know what the one he gave her could do. “Maybe a movie first?” She liked the idea of wearing it everywhere that he could tease her, but after being an actress herself, she knew that it would be rude to those in the performance. Then again Lord Oz had a private box. Would anyone truly be able to see? “It will be very fun.” She spread her legs, giving him full access to her.
Oz:
Rose’s willingness to play games with him only endeared her further to the older Dominant. She was pliant but not weak. Funny without cruelty or rudeness. He was glad to have met her. She had restored something within him, some sense that he couldn’t be that bad to have drawn her to him. He pressed the toy into her sex and let her get used to the feeling of fullness, the weight within her core. “There you go. Such a good girl.” He brushed a hand over her cheek, tipping her head back so he could kiss her as his other hand opened the app on his phone and began to toy with the girl’s pussy.
Rose:
As much as Oz liked to call himself a bad man, Rosemund assumed that it was a kink of his rather than a truth. He had never pushed her further than she agreed to go. The bruises hurt at the time, but they also reminded her of the way that he had gently run his hands over her skin after he was through with her. The way that he insured that she was alright and would continue to be so when he left. She groaned. “Give me a second please.” She took a deep breath. As wet as she was, it was still a tight fit. With a nod, she gave him permission to push a little bit further. “Thank you, sir.” She laid her head against his shoulder, timidly licking his lips to beg for entrance. The toys were fun, but the kisses were what she loved most.
Oz:
He liked her pliant weight in his arms, the warmth of her. She was slight enough that he could hold her, control her, and even carry her with ease. He chuckled at the little lick. “You are welcome, Rose.” He murmured quietly before kissing her, a real kiss this time, intense enough to sear the girl’s soul just as his finger tapped on the remote, turning it on within her. He broke off his kiss and watched her face as he rolled through several settings, just to see her reaction. “Tell me Rose … who do you belong to?”
Rose:
She always felt so small in his arm as if he moved her the wrong way, he would break her completely. It made her feel so safe that he hadn’t done so. She had given herself to him completely and trusted that he would never harm. She moaned, eyes falling closed as he kissed her. This was the kiss that she had always craved and never gotten. This was the one where she felt like someone in the world actually cared about her. This made her feel less like a burden and more like someone truly wanted her. Yet the moment was broken by Oz turning on the toy. “Fuck!” Her voice was horse as she attempted to get used to the sensation only for the lord to switch it. “You, sir. I belong to my Dominus. Lord Oz Montague.”
Oz:
“That’s right … I may share you but this … this will always belong to me.” Oz affirmed with a growl more possessive than he intended. He used the remote to torment her, not letting her settle into any sensation for any length of time. His mouth sought out hers again and again, kissing her deeply as he did so. Then just as suddenly, he turned it off completely, stilling the toy in her core, but he made no move to take it out. Instead he kissed her again and brushed the tip of his nose over hers before settling back against the couch. “Settle my rosepetal.” He murmured almost gently, turning her so she was cradled against his chest, both legs to one side. “I like knowing you are this full. When I leave, I’m going to leave it here. I want you to practice with it. Get used to the feeling of it in you. All right?” he murmured as he brushed back dark strands of hair from her pink cheeks. “Such a good girl.” he praised again.
Rose:
“Rose had agreed to be shared with others. She was interested if being in a threesome was as good as it looked to be in certain videos that her curiosity lead her to. Still she had wanted to be with just her Dom. He was everything that she dreamed of in a dominant, even if she knew that he would never be just hers. She’d long made her peace with people who didn’t want to claim her as their own. But with Oz, she had everything that she could want. He treated her well, pushed her, bettered her. Her hands gripped his shoulders as her hips moved against his own. She needed more. Just one touch and she would be coming apart. Her hands moved towards her breasts, searching his face for approval that she could at least touch herself. She pressed her lips eagerly against his, hungry for a single ounce of his affections. Then it all stopped. She couldn’t help the tears of frustration in her eyes. She buried her face into his chest, no doubt soaking his shirt with her tears. “I was so close.” Her voice was soft as she hiccupped the words out. She was full. Even without the toy doing anything, she could feel her walls clenching against it. “Yes, sir.” She wrapped her arms around him. “But what if it falls out?”
Oz:
“I know but it was far too soon for the reward of an orgasm. Besides, you know I like my cock in you when you come. Your mouth, your pussy or soon, your sweet bottom will all be trained to take it as often as I wish. You are such a good girl, you know you need it that way too, don’t you? To only cum when I say, when you are full of me.” Oz soothed gently, adoring her tear streaked face pressed into his shirt. She seemed so young and sweet for just a second. “If it falls out, I’ll buy you a bigger one.” he taunted and then laughed. “Now take off the rest of your clothes and then snuggle back in.” Oz instructed firmly. She had probably figured out what was missing. He loved to play with her breasts and he certainly wasn’t about to let her cum until he had at least played with them.
Rose:
“I can have more than one.” She pouted, knowing that she was not going to get what she wanted. Was it truly too much to ask that she get one from the vibrator than one from him or more. “Your cock is my favorite.” She had been eager to take him in all her holes, to please him, to make him mark her in all ways. “I thought that you liked seeing me cum apart as your doing.” As far as Rose knew, his toys were an extension of his control over her. She thought that giving him control is what she craved. “A bigger one?” She didn’t know that they even came bigger. This one filled her up so completely. Nodding she gingerly climbed off of her lap, hissing as the vibrator jostled inside of her. She was slower to undress than normal, taking care when she bent over to pull her skirt off of the ground. She climbed back into his lap, careful not to put any pressure on her bottom.
Oz:
“I know my rosepetal but I haven’t even put my cock in you yet. Look at me. I haven’t even felt your sweet mouth on me yet. Such neglect cannot continue.” Oz teased as he helped the girl to her feet. Watching her undress was pleasure. Petite yes but curves enough to know she was a woman fully grown and able to take a lover as she wished. He gathered her in his arms, one hand curving over her tender bottom, patting it gently. “You make me very happy Rose. Thank you.” He whispered before bending low enough to draw one nipple between his lips, sucking on the pert nipple.
Rose:
“Yes, sir.” Her voice shook as she attempted to regain her breath. She knew that he was right, but she didn’t think that one orgasm would have depleted her fully. She was young still and able to quickly recover, yet Oz kept her from having what she most wanted at the moment. She whimpered in his arms, shifting a bit to attempt to get his hand away from her tender parts, yet that is exactly where he placed it. “Thank you, Oz.” She nuzzled her face into his chest. Normally she would never use his name, but at the moment she wanted nothing more than to feel loved. She cursed under her breath when she felt his mouth on her.

The Chase Files Daily Newscap 12/13/2018
Good MORNING #realdreamchasers! Here is The Chase Files Daily News Cap for Thursday 13th December 2018. Remember you can read full articles for FREE via Barbados Today (BT) or Barbados Government Information Services (BGIS) OR by purchasing by purchasing a Daily Nation Newspaper (DN).
WE WILL NOT BE BULLIED! – Government will not be bullied or held to ransom by Innotech. This was made clear by Minister of Water Resources Wilfred Abrahams, who told THE NATION the construction company had been trying to “strong-arm” the administration into continuing with lopsided contracts agreed to by the previous Government. “The Government of Barbados cannot and will not condone bullying,” he said yesterday in an interview. “Innotech, by virtue of the contracts they have with us, especially with the building, have been trying to leverage their position of power to force the [Barbados] Water Authority (BWA) into certain things. “Innotech attempted to strong-arm the Government by threatening to lock out workers. That didn’t work. Now they are using the most vulnerable people as a pawn for Innotech to get leverage,” he added. Innotech Aquaserve Ltd continued its clampdown on the BWA by removing several community tanks on Tuesday after the state-owned agency defaulted on the lease payment on its $44 million headquarters in The Pine, St Michael. (DN)
INNOTECH’S TANK GRAB RAPPED – A businessman is throwing cold water on the actions of Innotech Aquaserve Ltd for seizing community water tanks. James Edghill, manager of Caribbean Consultants Ltd, said such a move was not in keeping with corporate social responsibility. “We do not believe these actions are reflective of corporate Barbados. We think the private sector needs to work more with Government, especially in these times, and this is a small gesture of us leading by example,” he said. Edghill was speaking after he donated 12 water tanks procured from Rotoplastics (Barbados) to the Barbados Water Authority (BWA). The business manager said this was the time of year where companies should be seeking to help families, so when he heard about the seizure, his heart went out to those affected. (DN)
ANOTHER VAT ONLINE DELAY - VALUE ADDED TAX (VAT) on foreign online transactions will not start this Saturday as scheduled – the third time the commencement date has been deferred. The delay this time is due to Government’s urgent need to meet the December 31 deadline to pass legislation for the convergence of local and international tax rates to bring them in line with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) initiative, or incur severe sanctions. A Ministry of Finance official confirmed yesterday that given its importance to Barbados’ viability, the OECD matter had superseded Government’s proposal to apply the VAT on foreign online transactions measure. So pressing was the OECD issue that debate started two days ago in the House of Assembly with the first reading of 11 bills to effect the change. Tomorrow, the House will engage in what is termed a cognate debate, where the 11 bills will be discussed at the same time, but each passed individually. The Senate will debate the measure next Wednesday. (DN)
INCOME TAX AMENDMENT BILL PASSED - Against strenuous objections from a member of the Upper House, who labelled changes to the Income Tax Act“unconstitutional”, senators approved the amendments this evening. Opposition Senator Caswell Franklyn took issue with the bill’s validation clause, noting that “the provisional collection of taxes gave four months from the date of the budget on June 11 to implement it. After October, according to Section 5, these taxes should cease and money already taken in should be refunded. So you have taken people’s property away without the legal provision to do so. This validation clause is contrary to the constitution.” Senator Monique Taitt had voiced a similar concern. “My challenge is the satisfaction of Section 3, “Subject to this act the imposition of a tax or increase in the rate of a tax contained in any budgetary proposal, from the date mentioned the imposition should be as effective as if the act has been passed and payable from the specified date. Increase in rate should be effective from the specified date and increases paid from then. “My problem is with Subsection 2, which states “it shall cease to be payable if act for payment of tax or increase is not enacted in the house within four months of the specified date”. It has now been six months since this measure was mentioned in the Prime Minister’s mini-budget on June 11.” Senator Lindell Nurse said he disagreed with the practice of backdating laws. “Essentially we are trying to legitimize something which has expired, and I am not in agreement with making laws and backdating them as we are trying to do here”. He acknowledged, however, that a section had been inserted to cover up any potential oversight in that respect. “So when I saw a validation note in the bill, which said, ‘all taxes paid or collected from the first day of August 2018 until the commencement of this act should be considered paid’, I understood why it was included.” Several senators expressed concern that some taxpayers would now be placed in a higher tax bracket. Senator Taitt said, “I have colleagues and friends who because of the five per cent increase were put into a different income bracket, so the tax has them geting less money than before. Ideally they should be getting the same thing or a bit more.” Senator Kevin Boyce added, “I think there should be some sort of tax incentive to those who have been hit with an increased band of payment.” He also called for Government to give timelines as to when these rates should be reviewed. Senator Nurse was concerned about the fact the same people, specifically the middle class, are getting hit with the taxes harder than anyone else,” and said since people no longer could claim their credit union savings or savings in a registered retirement savings plan on their tax returns, Government could consider other measures, such as an Education Savings Fund, which in his view would help Government meet its obligation in providing free tertiary level education. Senators’ main concerns centred on changes that would place a greater burden on middle-income and working class Barbadians who already paid the bulk of taxes. Senator Franklyn, the bill’s most strident objector, accusing the Barbados Labour Party administration of taking a “scattershot” approach to implementing legislation. “This policy will put a bigger burden on the middle classes and working classes who are getting devastated now, because they will be paying the majorty of the taxes in this country.” He also claimed that Government would introduce these policies now, only to change them again four years down the road when it was time for General Elections again in the hope that the electorate would have forgotten them by that time. The Opposition Senator questioned another element of the bill which writes off any outstanding sums owed between 1968 and 2000, as well as waiving any penalties associated with that debt. Senator Franklyn, in referring to it as a “friends and family agreement,” countered, “Let us say you have been living and working here, and owe the Government money. One person pays his taxes every year, while another one refuses to pay. How is this fair to someone who has been paying taxes all along, when the one who did not pay will now benefit? How do you recover the assets of the defaulters, especially if some of those people have since died? To my mind, this is a friends and family amendment. If you cannot pay all of the outstanding taxes one time, make an arrangement with the Barbados Revenue Authority.” But many of Senator Franklyn’s counterparts did not see the amendment in that light. Barbados Workers Union General Secretary, Senator Toni Moore, declared that “If we cannot provide simple answers to where we were over the last five years, how can we expect to provide answers to what happened 50 years ago?” Said Senator Rawdon Adams: “Sometimes these longstanding debts are hard to ‘chase down’ owing to the amount of time that has passed, and evidence has shown that writing off old debts is beneficial eventually.” Senator Moore added that Barbados was in urgent need of tax reform, especially in light of new working arrangements in which former full-time employees would possibly be re-hired on a contractual basis. “Many of us know of situations where governments of Barbados have engaged entities or individuals to provide contracts for services. Government saved money by not having to make the NIS payments or income taxes for these people, but still had a problem tracking whether these individuals met their statutory obligations. Unless we completely overhaul our tax system, we are going to keep revisiting this issue.” (BT)
GOV’T DEPTS MAY GO DIGITAL – Government could soon be using digital technology across a number of its ministries including housing, finance and immigration, in an effort to get a better handle on tracking transactions. This indication was given recently as top government representatives met with blockchain technology experts in an initial consultation, aimed at finding more efficient and secure systems that could be applied to various sectors in Government. Coordinator of the Innovation Seminar in the Ministry of Innovation Science and Smart Technology, Rodney Taylor, said by having a better understanding of the blockchain technology, Government could now explore areas for its implementation. “We were able to discuss different applications within real estate management and housing, the tracking of financial payments within government, as well as the tracking and issuing of work permits and the various applications received via the Immigration Department,” he said. Opting not to give details, officials said coming out of the session, a report identifying at least three projects that could be implemented or supported better by the use of blockchain technology would be offered for consideration. Founder of Bitt Inc., Gabriel Abed, participated in the inaugural ‘knowledge café’. Pointing out it that it would be a first for Government if the technology is used as a solution on various projects and governmental initiatives, he said, “It is promising because they’re interested in learning more about the capabilities of blockchain and seeking to implement applicable solutions that can be useful in the short and long-term,” said Abed. Abed, a recognized leader in the blockchain industry, was joined by representatives from Ernst and Young Barbados, IBM and Aion Technologies. By design, a blockchain is resistant to data modification, thereby offering greater security to database management, records and transactions. (BT)
BHTA WANTS EASE ON GSC LEVY – Members of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) are eager to get the millions of dollars in Value Added Tax (VAT) refunds owed to them by Government. At the same time, officials of the association have indicated that they would continue to lobby Government to give them a decrease in the recently introduced Garbage and Sewage Contribution (GSC) levy. Regarding the VAT refunds, Chief Executive Officer of the BHTA Senator Rudy Grant said he would continue to press Government to pay up what was owed. He said the BHTA sent out a recent survey to its over 300-strong membership but only about 14 members responded and indicated that they were collectively owed millions. “Those totalled some $8.9 million, and those 14 members represent about five per cent of the accommodation and direct tourism services members. If that is only five per cent you can understand what the outstanding amount is. But we really want to encourage our members to submit the information so that we can properly lobby on your behalf,” said Grant. Pointing to the levies that were imposed on the sector in the June budget, Grant acknowledged that they would come to an end on January 1, 2020, and at that time the VAT on the sector would be increased from 7.5 per cent to 15 per cent. However, Grant said the BHTA had recently outlined some concerns to Minister of Tourism Kerrie Symmonds regarding the pending VAT increase. “We are concerned about increasing the cost to persons coming to our destination. We would have a consultation with members as well, and I want to give you the assurance that we will continue our discussions,” he told the general meeting. In the case of the GSC which took effect on August 1 at a rate of $1.50 per day for households and 50 per cent of the existing water bills of corporate entities the hoteliers said it is financially burdensome. Hoteliers have complained about skyrocketing bills with some hotels on the west coast which normally paid as much as $40,000 per month for water are now having to pay $60,000 for the service. Prime Minister Mia Mottley had indicated that tourism and industrial businesses could receive an ease, hinting that a cap on payments could be implemented. However, there has been no ease so far. During the BHTA’s fourth annual general meeting at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Wednesday, Chairman of the BHTA Stephen Austin continued to make a case for hoteliers to get a reduction in the new tax, stating that west coast hoteliers had a private sewage system and used private waste haulers. “However, they are now faced with thousands of dollars more in costs due to the GSC. We are working with Government and lobbying for them to have a look at the challenge in offering ease of at least 50 per cent to businesses faced with this increase and still having the cost of running their own services,” he said. Half the funds collected will go to funding the Sanitation Services Authority (SSA) and the other half will go to the Barbados Water Authority (BWA). “We understand the need for establishments and for Barbadians to pay their way but we believe it would be fair if a reduction is offered in this way [to the hoteliers],” said Austin. “We recognize this is an urgent matter because members are already starting to engage in discussions with respect to setting rates. So we are treating to this urgently and it is our desire to continue to have those discussions and be able to come back to you some time soon with a decision,” he promised. He said the BHTA would also continue its lobbying efforts to get Government to make good on a promise to allow hoteliers access to concessions under the Tourism Development Act (TDA) and the Tourism Development Amended Act (TDAA) with the same level of ease with which Sandals accessed those concessions. It was at the end of October that Prime Minister Mottley made the promise, saying she would ensure there was a “level playing field” across the tourism industry. Grant said the Minister of Tourism had agreed on the process and a meeting was scheduled for next week so that the Barbados Revenue Authority, Customs, the Barbados Tourism Investment Inc., the Ministry of Tourism and the BHTA and Intimate Hotels of Barbados could discuss the matter. “We will seek to ensure that there is a level playing field,” he said, adding that the BHTA would also be making a case for stand-alone restaurants to be given the same privileges as hotels when it came to concessions. “As you know under the TDAA stand-alone restaurants do not benefit from any waiver of duties and taxes . . . The Minister has indicated that he would wish to treat to that as a phase two element. We will continue to keep that at the forefront,” said Grant. (BT)
‘FIX IT!’ – Taxi drivers are calling on Government for long-term fix to the impasse at the Bridgetown Port in which taxis have been moved from their usual parking spaces. Treasurer of the Bridgetown Port Taxi Services Limited, Vill Greaves, has said the “reprehensible” situation has been a “sour point” for taxi drivers, for over a decade. For the second week in a row, taxi drivers have been asked to move from the parking lot, which they would usually share with port workers as the winter cruise season nears its peak. Scores of taxi operators have since poured into the roadway outside the Port’s entrance, where they are slapped with tickets by traffic wardens. In an interview with Barbados TODAY, Greaves accused port authorities of engaging in a longstanding pattern of treating taxi drivers like “second and third-class citizens”. Taxi operators, many of whom are not registered to operate at the Port, have been parking indiscriminately in the area allotted for port workers, Barbados TODAY has learned. While Greaves acknowledged that some unauthorized taxis were making things bad for the registered ones, he argued that with Barbados on the verge of a bumper tourist season, authorities needed to take the plight of transit operators more seriously. “Nobody listens. From on high [Government] to the port management, nobody takes you on, so that is how taxi operators have felt for the longest time; as though they are second and third-class citizens in the whole tourism operations. I think we should be helping them to improve their lot in life,” he said. Greaves indicated that decade ago, before Trevor’s Way became the well-manicured open space that it currently is, taxi operators would park parallel to the coastline. “Then one smart person decided that they wanted to extend Trevor’s Way, to the exclusion of people who are looking for a daily living. So you’ve forced them to now park on the road and things like that; and it was sad. “Nobody objected to them beautifying the whole area as it was part of the whole tourism package, but what was wrong with creating a nice atmosphere that the guys [taxi operators] could still drive down?” he asked. Since then, he noted efforts were made to allow some operators to park their vehicles in the compound. But unregistered taxi drivers encroached on the port. “When there’s a ship in the Port, you have an influx of taxi operators who are not seaport taxi operators coming down to ply, to get some of the business . . . . You’ve found that then authorized seaport taxis are parking in what is the workers’ compound and then cause problems for the workers themselves . . . . So the management has decided, this is foolishness. “It is sad that it has come to this,” he said, indicating that registration fees had increased sharply over the past few months for taxi operators at the Port. When Barbados TODAY contacted Divisional Manager for Corporate Development and Strategy at the Bridgetown Port, Karl Branch, he said he was in no position to comment on the matter. But Greaves offered what he considers a simple solution in which a driveway is built along the stretch of Princess Alice Highway leading to the Port’s entrance. “It doesn’t take much time to build a drive-way, you can do it quickly,” he said. Greaves also suggested Government take seriously the idea of a taxi-operated park-and-ride system for transporting city workers to offices and stores to avoid “unnecessary clutter.” “Taxi operators are legitimately looking for work and trying to get more foreign exchange into the country, so their issues should be given priority,” he declared. GOVT TO SAFEGUARD AGAINST OVERCROWDING – As public sector job cuts continue, vendors are bracing for more competitors in high foot traffic areas and likely overcrowding that Minister of Small Business Dwight Sutherland is seeking to prevent. Bustling Swan Street was the focus of Sutherland’s attention as he toured the City street mall this morning. “When we walk Swan Street we can see that it is a little cramped and I know BARVEN (The Barbados Association of Retailers, Vendors and Entrepreneurs) has raised the matter of space as a critical issue. Space utilisation will be critical going forward,” said Sutherland, who was visiting vendors and stores along Swan Street this morning. The minister noted that while Government plans to build out new designated spaces for vending, entrepreneurs must think beyond the conventional commercial methods. “There is a type of vending that utilises car parks. I know BARVEN has a plan where vending in car park spaces will become one of the key aspects of the sector in Bridgetown. We still have other spaces that we need to utilise. I understand it is tough times and people have been laid off but we should not limit vending to the streets. People who were laid off could drive around selling their products from their vehicles,” said Sutherland. The minister said the policy will extend beyond Swan Street and the capital City. “Another area that is under utilized is beach vending. So we the Government has to help to create the infrastructure.” The Minister of Small Business is of view that in order to encourage more out-of-the- box thinking, the antiquated mind set towards the sector has to change. He declared that gone are the days when vending was seen as a last resort for person who had no other employment options. He pointed out that university graduates were now looking to vending as the gateway to their business aspiration and these new entrants were incorporating technology into their trade. “We need to empower vendors and we need to create the atmosphere whereby technology in vending is the norm. We are speaking about creating a smart Bridgetown but what would a smart Bridgetown look like without vendors? So we need the vendors to utilize technology to provide customers with options. Vending has reached a stage where it has to be innovative and creative and it has to fit with the country’s development,” said Sutherland. “There are university graduates who are vendors so gone are days where vendors are seen as persons who buy potatoes or yams from a plantation.” (BT)
CARIBBEAN ISLANDS RECORD SERIES OF EARTHQUAKES – Several Caribbean islands were rocked by earthquakes during a six hour period overnight, the Trinidad-based Seismic Research centre (SRC) of the St Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) reported Wednesday. It said there were no immediate damage or injuries as a result of the quakes, but terrified residents in Dominica and some other islands reported being shaken by the tremors. Some people took to social media to relieve the experiences. The first quake, with a magnitude of 4.0, occurred at 9 p.m. on Tuesday night and was felt in Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda and the French island of Guadeloupe. It was located at latitude: 16.74N, longitude: 59.58W and at a depth of 10 kilometres. The SRC said that it was felt 224 km east north east of Point-a-Pitre, the capital of Guadeloupe, 255 km east of the capital of Antigua and Barbuda and 257 km north east of Roseau, Dominica. Dominica and Guadeloupe were also rocked by another earthquake, 17 minutes later that also affected Martinique. According to the SRC, the quake which occurred at 9.17 pm (local time) with a magnitude of 3.7, was located latitude: 15.37N, longitude: 61.32W and at a depth of five km. It was also felt 11 km north east of Roseau, 89 km north, north west of Fort-de France, Martinique and 100 km south, south east of Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. The third earthquake recorded by the SRC occurred early Wednesday morning and had a magnitude of 4.0. The SRC said that the quake which occurred at 3:05 a.m. was felt in Barbados, St Vincent and the Grenadines and St Lucia. It was located latitude: 12.78N, longitude: 60.39W and at a depth of 10km. The SRC said that it was felt 94 km south west of Bridgetown, Barbados, 102 km south east of Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and 153 km south east of Castries, St Lucia. Earlier this week, the head of the SRC Dr Joan Lutchman, reiterated a call for the region to be prepared for a major earthquake as several parts of the Caribbean were jolted by earth tremors last weekend. Over the weekend, the SRC said that a burst of 54 earthquakes occurred north of St Kitts during a 21 hour period. The biggest had a magnitude of 4.1. Lutchman, who has for months now been warning that the Caribbean is long overdue a “big one”, said that several tremors have since been recorded following the weekend activities. (DN)
DEATH MYSTERY –There is still no word from the nursery following the death of three-month-old Neymar Renaldo Andre Jules who was discovered unresponsive in a crib on Monday. Three days after the shocking turn of events, relatives of the infant are demanding answers from the St James day care facility about what went so tragically wrong on only his third day at the facility. Relatives say the development has plunged them into one of the saddest periods of their lives. At a Boscobelle, St Peter home shared by Neymar’s mother, Mishika Jules and his father Andre Skeete, the grieving parents said they were too distraught to sit down for an interview with Barbados TODAY. However, they both confirmed they were yet to hear a word from the owners of the day-care, which their son had only attended for three days before he died. The close-knit and private family declined to release photos of Neymar and asked that their faces not be shown, but said they were in desperate need of closure. With the permission of Neymar’s mother, his aunt, Timisia Skeete spoke to Barbados Today on her behalf. “We still looking for information and nobody knows, because nobody from the nursery came forward and explained to her [Neymar’s mother] what happened. Nobody offered condolences on behalf of the nursery. The same way they knew her number to let her know what happened, the owner of the nursery should have come forward and at least offered condolences to her as the mother and also to my brother as the father,” she said tearfully. Skeete said the only contact between the family and the nursery came through a worker, who had a personal relationship with Neymar’s mother. “We want to know what happened from the head of the nursery. You are the owner, it is your place to address the parents. This is not a toy; this is a child. This is someone’s child. You have to address the parents,” said the frustrated aunt. “You need to state what happened, you need to offer condolences to the family . . . you can’t leave it there as if nothing has happened,” she asked. Fighting to hold back tears, Skeete recounted the moments after she received the news that her nephew had passed away. “I was on my way home from work and I thought he was joking, but I know him and I know he is not going to joke about something like that. He kept saying ‘the baby’ but he did not name the baby. So I kept asking him ‘whose baby died?’ Then he told me Neymar and I just paused in traffic. The light turned to ‘go’ and I could not move. I just started screaming in the car,” she recounted, as Neymar’s mother began sobbing loudly in the background. Skeete said the news was the last thing she was expecting to hear as she had kept the baby as recently as Saturday. She explained that when they assembled at the Sandy Crest Medical Center, where young Neymar was carried and later pronounced dead, there was hysteria. Skeete told Barbados TODAY that she saw Neymar as a son after she lost one of her own and says the pain has now doubled. “He was my baby, I love him to death and everybody knows how I feel about him. He is always on my [social media] statuses; he was my baby, because honestly I lost a baby and I was in the hospital…but it’s like when he [Neymar] came, I fell in love with him from day one. He brought me comfort . . . and helped soothe me from how I felt after losing my baby,” she said. Family members say they are awaiting an autopsy to find out the cause of death, but would only reveal that at the time of death, Neymar “was full of vomit.” Switching their attention back to the nursery, family members called on the day-care’s management to come clean, noting that Neymar was a miracle for the family, given that his mother, Mishika Jules had complications during her pregnancy. “This was his third day at this nursery. She even had reservations about going back out to work and securing a nursery, because as a mother, you are going to be protective… and then this happens,” said Skeete. When Barbados TODAY visited the nursery on Wednesday afternoon, they appeared to be operating as usual. Staff said the owner was not on the compound and that they would be offering no comment on the developments. Neymar’s maternal grandmother, Janice Edwards was reluctant to comment as she was “angry inside.” “I was looking to spend Christmas with my grandchild; and you carried my grandchild healthy, after his father had him in the morning, kissing him and holding him and playing with him. Something is wrong,” she said. (BT)
THREE CHARGED WITH MURDER – Police in the Northern Division have arrested and charged three people with the murder of Ricardo “Bumbles” Rock, whose body was discovered in a bathroom at the defunct Alma Parris Memorial School in Speightstown, St Peter. They are Corneil Baggott, 38, of Major Walk, Regina Danielle-Boyce, 22, of Six Mens, and Fabian Omar Devonish, 33, of French Village, all in St Peter. The trio appeared at the Holetown Magistrate Court on Thursday, November 29, before Magistrate Wanda Blair. They have been remanded until Friday, January 4. (DN)
REPUTED THIEF JAILED UNTIL JANUARY – He initially pleaded not guilty, but after failing to find a surety reputed thief Arleigh Patrick Todd wanted to change his plea. “You want to plead guilty, or you want to give me some time to think about this case over the Christmas season,” Magistrate Douglas Frederick asked him. “I will give you some time to think Sir,” was Todd’s response. The magistrate then remanded him to HMP Dodds until January 9, 2019. The 64-year-old Todd of Upper Collymore Rock, St Michael, had initially denied stealing a chair and tables valued $290, on or between December 5 and 6, the property of Shawn Knight when he appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today. Despite having over 60 convictions, the majority for theft, Todd told the magistrate he had been trying to stay out of trouble since he was released from prison last year. “I haven’t been in jail for over a year. I have stayed out of trouble since then. I am trying hard,” he promised. And while Frederick lauded him for walking the straight and narrow, he told him that he would prefer for him to be off the streets at this time of the year. “You are a reputed thief so it is a remarkable achievement that you have not been in trouble for over a year. “But this time of the year isn’t a time I want you to be on the streets. I’d prefer you to be on remand over the Christmas period and let me think about what I should do with you when you come back,” the magistrate told him. (BT)
COLUMBIAN BAILED – Having been remanded on her previous two court appearances, a Colombian woman finally secured bail on her third attempt. Maria Theresa Machina, 25, was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 with two sureties by Magistrate Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell when she appeared in the District ‘F’ Magistrates’ Court yesterday. She was charged with assaulting Immigration Officer Carlisle Murray on November 13. However, she was not required to plead to the indictable offence. Prosecutor Station Sergeant Glenda Carter-Nicholls maintained the Crown’s objection to bail on the grounds that Machina was a non-national and a possible flight risk. However, Machina’s new legal team of Queen’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim and Neville Reid, who took over the matter from Queen’s Counsel Michael Lashley, argued that the month which the Colombian had already spent on remand was equivalent to that of a sentence for a common assault. Additionally, Pilgrim said his client had been charged with a bailable offence and that she has viable sureties who are Barbadians and who have status here, as her mother is married to a Barbadian and has lived here for the past 15 years. As a result, he said there was no reason to keep his client on remand at HMP Dodds. Pilgrim also questioned a deportation order which was produced by the Crown. He said the order had been signed by the minister on November 12, even before Machina had been charged. Pilgrim said they would be looking into the validity of that document. After listening to both submissions the Magistrate released Machina on bail with conditions. She must report to Oistins police station every Monday and Friday before 10 a.m. and she must reside with her mother at her Christ Church home. It was disclosed that Machina’s passport was already in the possession of immigration officials. She is scheduled to return to court on January 24, 2019. (BT)
BFA SCORES BIG – The Barbados Football Association (BFA) yesterday scored its biggest goal for the year after a meeting with the president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia. President of the BFA Randy Harris and Argentine Ambassador to Barbados Gustavo Martinez Pandiani, made a courtesy call on Tapia at the AFA’s Buenos Aries headquarters. The meeting was scheduled as part of the itinerary of the Barbados Under-17 national team delegation, currently on a week-long visit at Boca Juniors, one of Argentina’s most famous clubs. Following a short closed door meeting, Tapia told NATION SPORT it was the starting point of a great relationship. “This is a very important meeting for our association. I think is a starting point for the cooperation of the two associations. We will contribute the resources that we have to the Federation of Barbados not only in sports but also in cultural terms,” he pledged. (DN)
TREAT FOR UNDER-17 FOOTBALLERS – Members of the Barbados Football Association Under-17 national team were treated to a recovery session usually reserved for international players earlier today. Their scheduled trip to the Boca Juniors Stadium to participate in and watch the annual football match for the Day of the Fan was cancelled as a result of security concerns, ahead of tomorrow’s match against their fellow Under-17 compatriots. As a result their coaches and Boca Junior coaches decided to give some much needed “R and R”, and invited them to use the facilities reserved for the Argentine Boca Juniors first team (national team). The young Bajan Tridents were able to enjoy the use of the pool, sauna and a cold jacuzzi, before finishing up the evening with a foot volley outside their accommodations. (DN)
TROTMAN WANTS BATS TO STEP UP –The batting department of the Barbados Pride is the biggest concern ahead of today’s start of the Regional 4-Day cricket match against the Jamaica Scorpions at the 3Ws Oval. However, head coach Emmerson Trotman believes the return of West Indies opening batsman Kraigg Brathwaite will be a major boost to the squad and should help alleviate the issue. “As far as our batting is concerned, it is necessary to be positive and play with some more intensity. “The main problem at the moment is that the guys are worried about getting out. They shouldn’t be worried about being out but about scoring big runs, but I’m pretty sure they will do a lot better,” Trotman said during a training session yesterday at Kensington Oval. “Kraigg is a fantastic player, he brings a lot to the changing room, so the boys are quite happy to see him around. He would ease a lot of pressure on the team because the guys really look up to him as a big performer, so it sets the team up nicely,” he added. (DN)
TUACH ON MISSION 2020 – Barbadian pro-surfer Chelsea Tuach is on a mission to qualify for the 2020 Olympics. The 23-year-old told media following her return from the Pan American Surfing Games in Peru that she was sincerely hoping to be a part of the Barbadian contingent for the global showpiece set for Tokyo, Japan. “It was my second time in the Pan American Games. I went last year as well and I was in the finals last year,” a smiling Tuach told reporters after emerging from the arrival hall of the Grantley Adams International Airport. “But this was a more important year because I needed to at least get to the semifinals to gain a spot in the Pan American Games next year and I did. It is going to be exciting for me to compete with our athletes, our swimmers in Barbados and I will be training hard for that. “If I win that it would mean that I would qualify for the Olympics which would be the first ever female surfers in the Olympics to qualify.” Tuach added, noting that reaching the finals of the recent competition had inspired her to continue going after her goals. One such goal is to be one of the 20 women who compete at the 2020 Olympics in the surfing discipline. Tuach once again produced a series of outstanding performances in Peru to finish fourth, and said the performance was a great way to end an already successful year. “It is definitely a big competition for me and I was really happy to get into the finals again,” she explained. “It was a nice way to end the year and it is giving me the motivation and the inspiration to just work harder in this off-season now and make sure that I am ready and not only in my professional career with the world surf league but also to get ready for the Olympics in 2020.” Tuach pointed out that qualifying for the Olympics would be a major feat but said she was aready focussed on the challenge “I will try my hardest to qualify for that,” she reiterated. “It is definitely a big feat as they are only 20 females in the whole world but I would like to represent this region and I would like to represent Barbados in the Olympics and that is a big goal and that is something that I am going to go to sleep thinking about.” Turning her attention to her return to Barbados in time for the Christmas holidays, Tuach said that since she had not been home since July, she was anxious to spend time with her family and friends. “I am going to go home now feed my dog, see my family and just relax,” Tuach quipped. “Well, relax as much as I can because I would still have to be training but going to the beach. I cannot wait to put on a bikini and have a sea bath and see my friends and everything that I miss. “See some good friends, eat some home-cooked meals, have some Chefette and everything — just some time to spend with family that is what I miss the most.” (BT)
ORGAN MASTER – If you ever visit All Saints Anglican Church in Pleasant Hall, St Peter, for a Sunday morning service, one of the things you will notice is the youthfulness of the organist and his obvious passion for job engagement. Like the priest, organist Demario Roach is much sought after. Choir members seek him out; and church members, old and young, jostle to engage him at the organ directly after service or in the aisles as he is leaving. And Roach makes time for all of them as he moves through the church like a breath of fresh air. This is one of the reasons the young organist is so hugely popular. In addition, at 22, he still says “yes, please”, is charming and well-spoken and his warm personality draws one in. Watching him at the organ, one can get carried away in his obvious pleasure. Roach’s involvement in music and church are intertwined. For him, churchgoing is also a family tradition. “I was interested in music from the time I was in primary school. I started out on the drums and I was also in the choir at the Ignatius Byer Primary School [in St Lucy] under the guidance of Mr Hugh Griffith. When I transitioned over to secondary school [Frederick Smith], I started to play the saxophone and keyboard under the guidance of Andre Ford, Mark Husbands and Shawn Holder.” With regard to church, his great grandmother, grandmother, mother and sister are members, so attendance every Sunday was a given. “From birth I was involved in Sunday school at St Philip-The-Less [Anglican Church in Boscobel]. As a Sunday school, we would minister to a lot of other churches and there was one occasion when we went to St Clements [in St Lucy] and we took along two buckets and sticks as makeshift drums,” he said. Roach became a member of the servers at St Philip-The-Less and later assistant organist there until his move to All Saints last year. He began to play the organ while at St Philip-The-Less after being approached by Rev. Davidson Bowen, who asked whether he would be interested. He and two others were sent to Julian Bowen, tutor/organist at St Peter’s Parish Church, and he received a scholarship through the church. He is preparing for the Service Playing Certificate under Bowen’s tutelage. Roach decided to become a full-time organist because he “fell in love with the instrument, hearing the hymns and chants being sung and chanted”. Meeting and interacting with other organists and encouragement from members of the church were also key factors. The young organist’s involvement with Sunday school teachers at St Philip-The-Less led to his further interest in youth work, and he is now the president of the St Peter Youth Council. “There is a large youth group at the St Philip-The-Less. There is a group of Sunday school teachers who seem to never get tired. They ensure that the youth participate in the youth choir, Sunday school and worship in general.” The youth department there plans the main events. A jazz concert was conceptualised by Roach and Meagan Foster, another young organist. “We try to get the youth of the church involved in a lot of things to help to keep them focused. We want them to feel as if they belong to the church. We also have a youth night, which is called Block Church, where we invite not only the youth of the church but other young people in the community, and we hold discussions, we play games, we even talk about the Bible. “We also lead worship every first Sunday and the whole month of August, so we try to get them in love with everything,” he said. Roach puts much effort into youth work because of what he sees as some of the challenges younger people face. These include not being understood or always being judged by older people; not taking their education seriously; difficulty finding a job; and some older people believing that youth were to be seen and not heard. His immediate plans include applying to the Barbados Community College to study for an associate degree in music. In the long term, he wants to become a professional musician and accountant. (DN)

We are all getting older. There's no stopping the aging process, at least there's no way to stop getting older that any of us would like! And of course senior life insurance cost more than when you were younger. So, we present 4 solutions to lower the cost of your premium that you may not have thought of before.
#1- Save Your Age Most insurance companies use “age nearest“ to determine how old you are considered when applying for life insurance. So if you will be sixty on January 1, 2013, the insurance company will consider your age to be sixty on July 1, 2012, a full 6 months before your actual birthday.
You have the option to backdate your policy up to 6 months. The thing to remember is that you have to pay the premium from the policy date.
Assume you are male and have just been approved for a $ 250,000 policy for 15 years at a preferred rating. The premium at age sixty is about $103 per month. But if you backdate the policy to June 30th, one day before your half birthday, you are considered fifty nine and the premium will be about $ 93 per month. This is a savings of $10 per month.
In this example you would pay between 3 weeks up to 1 additional month of premium to put your policy in force. At $10 per month times 15 year, minus the 1 one premium, you would save about $1700 over the life of the policy. If you had to backdate this policy 3 months of premium to get the lower premium it would save you about $ 1500 over the life of the premium.
If you can do it, check with your agent to see the numbers and decide if it makes sense for you. #2- How You Pay Makes a Difference Life insurance for seniors can be paid by several different modes. You can pay annually, semi-annually, quarterly and monthly. If you have a term policy the mode you choose will determine the actual cost. On a permanent policy there isn't any difference.
If you pay annually, the premium is the least. In our prior example where we saved age, the cost would be $1060 per year.
Semi-annually payment will be next in line. 2 payments of $541 will cost a total of $1082. This is an increase in premium of $ 22 per year. The total over 15 years is $ 330. That's not too bad.
Quarterly payments will be $ 276 with an annual cost of $ 1104. The annual difference is $ 44 per year. The additional cost is $ 660 over the 15 year life of the policy.
Monthly payments that are automatically deducted from your checking account are $ 93 per month, with an annual cost of $ 1116. Over 15 years you would pay an additional $ 840 per year.
Only a few companies will bill you and allow you to mail in monthly payments. It's no surprise that this mode is the most costly.
There are some companies that do not like the quarterly mode and you will find that this is the highest cost for them.
This example is based on a $250,000 face amount for 15 years. The more insurance and the longer the term, the greater the savings would be. Overall you can save some money on the premium if you can pay more in advance. #3- Table Shaving Programs Life insurance for seniors can have a big savings with a table shaving program. Only a few companies have this program and it is on permanent insurance only. Here's how it works:
Your case goes through underwriting normally.
Available ratings go from best downward are preferred best, preferred, standard plus (only some companies), standard and then table ratings (1-8 or A-H).
One company has a program where if you qualify for a rating of Table 1, 2, or 3, you will be given a standard rating. This cuts the price down substantially (25% and up).
There are a few companies with table shaving programs, each having its own qualifications. Consult your independent life insurance agent to see if you can benefit from this opportunity. #4- Better Rating for 1 Controlled Medical Issue One of our carriers has a program where if you have one medical issue (and only certain ones qualify) and it is well controlled, they will not penalize your rating. So if you would qualify for preferred in every other way, you get preferred with this carrier. This is a unique program.
For example, we recently had a client with medical issues that we expected to get a standard rating at best with all companies.
He applied to this company and received a standard plus rating.
This difference of one rating class saved him over $ 100 per month on a 20 year term. Doing the math, this will save him $24,000 over the life of this policy.
Having access to this program, if you qualify, can save you a great deal of money over the lifetime of your policy. The Bottom Line Although life insurance for seniors is usually more costly than for middle age people, here are 4 strategies that can help lower your cost. If you can take advantage of one of these solutions to lower your premium it can save you significant amounts over the life of your policy. Remember to consult with an independent life insurance agent with experience in the senior market.

Oil Production Vital Statistics April 2018
On the world stage, momentous events are unfolding. The USA, UK, and France have bombed Syria risking confrontation with Russia. The Israelis are more than a little concerned about Iranian involvement in Syria. And on the Korean peninsula, peace between N and S is on the cards, spreading prosperity and more energy consumption for all. On the second tier, oil production in Venezuela and Mexico continues to tank. No one should be surprised, therefore, that Brent has breached $74/bbl. The only thing standing in the way of another severe oil price spike is the N American frackers going back more seriously to work. They may one day be joined by frackers in Saudi Arabia, China, and Russia. The chart below from the February OMR is one of the more important produced by the IEA showing the balance between supply and demand leading to either stock draw or additions. So important, in fact, that I have decided to leave it there from the last report 2 months ago so that it can be compared with the equivalent chart from the April OMR that is reproduced just below it.
The difference between the two charts is quite subtle but with dramatic impact. Data revisions result in crude oil stock draws for 7 quarters backdated from 4Q 18. This has meant that the IEA now sees OECD crude oil stocks at the 5-year mean at the present day. The momentum of the trend will see OECD crude oil stocks shooting to the low side. Even higher oil prices may be on their way. Readers should note that since January 2018 I have been employed as a consultant at ETH Zurich. ETH are a well-kept secret, but are in fact the number 10 ranked university in the world, up there with CalTech, MIT and Imperial College. My intention is, with Roger's help, to keep the blog going but with my significantly reduced participation. I will be aiming for reduced quantity but increased quality and impact. This edition of vital statistics therefore is abbreviated to bullet points - that may actually serve as an advantage to readers. Neil Mearns, who now works at Cornwall Insight updates the Google Sheets data base that the live charts read. Note that Vital Statistics is produced using the Global Energy Graphed database employing Google Sheets. Since these graphs are live, they will update automatically in future as more data are added, meaning that the narrative of this post will no longer match the data in the months ahead. Oil Price Oil price data updated to 30 April 2018 using data from the EIA. Figure 1 Oil prices are heading higher since the double bottom of January 2016. The WTI - Brent spread, a symptom of the high oil price era has re-opened. Figure 2 Longer term view of daily oil price. Note how the Brent-WTI spread was a feature of the high oil price era. Figure 3 WTI minus Brent. At its peak, the spread reached $30 per barrel. Is this a significant indicator of things to come? Rig Counts Rig count charts for North America, the USA, South America, The North Sea, and OPEC are shown below. Additional charts for Europe, The Middle East, Africa and Asia-Oceania can be found here. Rig counts provided by Baker Hughes are updated to 27th April 2018 for N America and to March 2018 for all the rest. Figure 4 Stacked area chart showing North America total rig count. Not much to comment on here. Figure 5 Stacked area chart of US Total rig count showing the oil - gas split. Signs that the US rig count is picking up pace with a renewed marginal shift towards gassy plays. Figure 6 Same data as above but plotted as an unstacked line chart. The response of US frackers returning to work is so far very muted. But the efficiency of what they are doing must be factored in. Figure 7 US rig count broken out by sedimentary basin / petroleum systems play. The Permian play in Texas remains by far the most important. Figure 8 Drilling has slumped in the North Sea to a record low since 1995. Precious little sign yet of a drilling revival in the North Sea. Figure 9 Drilling within OPEC remains close to a cyclical high. Signs of an uptick in OPEC drilling. Figure 10 The near-term top in S American rigs was 329 in August 2014. By June 2016, this had crashed to 158 and it remained at about that level for the remainder of the year. No signs of a major drilling recovery here. Oil Production Monthly oil production data are compiled from the IEA OMR. The public data are normally released towards the end of the month and relate to the previous month, meaning that we are always running 4 to 5 weeks behind real time. The oil production graphs are updated to March 2018. The 15 graphs below are mainly composite production groups. Graphs for individual countries reproducing the whole of the IEA OMR oil production data can be found GlobalEnergyGraphed as follows: OPEC 16 charts OECD 10 charts Rest of World (including Russia) 21 charts Figure 11 The OECD has only 4 significant oil producers: the USA, Canada, Mexico and Norway. The UK has now become a small player with production ~ 1 Mbpd alongside small producers Denmark and Australia. OECD production is heading higher, led by the USA and Canada. The notch down in Canada in May 2016 was down to the Fort McMurray wildfire. Mexican production continues its long term decline (below). Offshore Mexican production that is dependent upon nitrogen injection appears to be on the skids. Figure 13 European oil production is dominated by the North Sea and in particular by Norway. The "other" category is dominated by Denmark with a contribution from Italy. The high on this chart is 7.1 Mbpd in April 2002, the low is 2.94 Mbpd in September 2013. North Sea production has now declined so far that it has become easier for operators to staunch percentage declines. Figure 15 Details of OPEC spare capacity. At the end of 2016, spare capacity was approaching historic lows of 1.99 Mbpd with most countries pumping flat out. The IEA has not published spare capacity data since December 16. Figure 16 Iran pumped 3.81 Mbpd in January and has hit a production plateau following the lifting of sanctions. What next? Figure 17 Libya achieved 1.1 Mbpd in July, 0.92 Mbpd in September and pumped 1.00 Mbpd in January 2018. Stability may have returned to the part of Libya where production has been restored. Figure 18 Rest of World production has been glued to a plateau of 30 Mbpd since January 2010. However, this statistic hides winners and losers. Russia is the most prominent winner and China the most prominent loser. Figure 19 In October 2016, Russian production stood at 11.6 Mbpd. Russia remains compliant with the agreed cut of 250,000 bpd in the historic deal. Note that Between August 2016 and October 2016, Russia ramped up production by 550,000 bpd (the OPEC++ datum). Figure 20 Production in SE Asia remains in slow decline, led by China. This can have significant geopolitical implications. Figure 21 South America, excluding OPEC countries Venezuela and Ecuador, is dominated by Brazil. Production for the group is stable. Figure 22 The Middle East excluding OPEC is dominated by Oman. Other Middle East will be dominated by Bahrain. The group decline reflects wars in Syria and Yemen. Oman is party to the OPEC++ deal. Figure 23 Africa, excluding OPEC (Libya, Algeria, Nigeria, and Angola), has only one other major producer in the shape of Egypt. There are a host of smaller producers in the other category that includes countries like Equatorial Guinea, Republic of Congo, Gabon, South Sudan, Chad, and Tunisia. The group is in slow decline. Note that Gabon and Equatorial Guinea have recently joined OPEC. Figure 24 Summary of global C+C+NGL production. Note that OPEC countries' NGL production is reported separately. The record C+C+NGL production remains 94.18 Mbpd set in November 2016 when OPEC++ were pumping flat out ahead of "The Deal". Figure 25 Global total liquids showing the constituent parts. Processing gains and biofuels are not shown in Figure 24. Chart not zero scaled. Read the full article
