Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Nova had quite the average childhood. And yet their experience was different. From a young age, she was an outsider - there was something different about her. She didn't fully belong, couldn't keep up with her peers. It wasn't a lack of intelligence, but her priorities always lay elsewhere. While other kids occupied themselves with games, friends and the internet, Nova could usually be found in the same spot she had been all day; her focus and face buried in a book she may or may not have already read multiple times. Despite not having a big reason for it, Nova always preferred to live in fiction over reality.

When she was eight years old, her parents had another child. There are times where Nova wonders if it was simply because they felt like they were missing out on the true experience, due to her detachment from the people around her. Maybe they thought that having a sibling would pull her out of her shell. The latter proved to be true, even if it was purely because Nova felt an instinctual responsibility to be present in her little brother's life. Where she often lacked in energy, her brother more than made up for it. Theo was a force to be reckoned with - always up to no good and leaving every room he entered in a state of chaos.

It didn't take long for her parents to get exhausted and most likely regret their decision. Nova could sense it in the air, saw it in the way they reacted. And yet, she couldn't turn her back the way they tried to do. Suddenly, she found herself to be the primary caregiver of her brother, despite never having felt any real desire to connect with other people or even live in reality for longer than needed. It was upsetting to see her beloved books collecting dust, while their parents took up hobbies of their own. They would tell Nova she was all grown up, that she was so mature and responsible for her age. How much they trusted her. And maybe that was where they were wrong.

It only took one night. A few minutes. A moment of inattentiveness. There was noise, screams, so much blood. Theo had somehow managed to get a hold of a kitchen knife to run around with, yelling something about being a pirate. Nova called 911, watched in horror as her little brother got taken away by paramedics. She'd done everything she'd known to do in her moment of pure panic. He survived.

But her parents were livid. Despite the fact they hadn't even been home at the time of the incident, they were quick to blame it all on Nova. Not knowing how to deal with these sudden shifts, the hostility, she did the only thing she knew best. She ran. Disappeared. It didn't matter where she ended up, as long as it was far away from the shadows of her mistake, of the suffocating aura of the place she once called her home. Away from the kitchen that had become a reminder of her incompetence.

There was a inexplicable pull that brought them to The City. There was no real reason for them to find Penson. In moments of delirium, they might call it destiny.

The lights were distant and dim at first. Nova paid them very little mind, too occupied with adjusting to all the changes that came with living alone, battling the demons of their regrets. But they got closer, sometimes they whispered. They were comforting in a terrifying way. They felt as lost as she did. Intoxicating, kindred. She had never been someone who feared the supernatural. Ghost stories were her favorite kind of romance novels. Suffering and revenge made sense while petty conflict did not. Maybe her love for theatre and books made her view of the world far too romanticized, but she couldn't help but prefer it over the mundane version that other people saw.

The lapses in her memory didn't faze her at first. Nova was no stranger to dissociation. But as they got more frequent and came paired with a higher sense of the emotions that lingered inside a room, it became clear that something had attached itself to her. The last time she had seen the lights, they had been right in front of her. Then the fading happened. Times they looked in the mirror and were missing a reflection, often linked to their mood.

They were still Nova, but there was something else there, something that felt strange but familiar at the same time.

it’s kinda stupid to call rui “sassy” or say he was acting “mean” for simply doing what any person would do realistically after tsukasa humiliated nene in the main story. i swear this fandom has gone over this a thousand times and yet for some reason it’s still so hard for people to accept that tsukasa was being a self centered asshole. that’s not even exaggerating anything that’s just the truth.

btw (if im wrong correct me) but rui has never gotten angry at someone unreasonably he’s actually quite mature and doesn’t just?? explode over things so i dont know why him refusing to work with tsukasa even after nene forgave him is seen as a “mean” thing… let’s not forget he still believed tsukasa hadnt changed at all and only wanted to be in shows for selfish purposes. it’s not bad to admit that tsukasa is egotistical and has acted much more mean in unacceptable ways than rui + has had to own up to this and work hard to grow as a person over time

On top of being robbed of so much Juke content we’ll never get, what I think about alot is how Juke would have been approached more if it went further.

One of the (many) reasons I love jatp so much is it makes me believe their characters are real, that they have background, they have their own goals and ambitions to them, they’re fleshed out.

That moment of Flynn going “my girls got a crush and his name is Luke” and Julie going “what no?! Luke’s a ghost😳.” And Flynn saying “a cute ghost” and Julie giving in and saying “…with a perfect smile☺️” and adding that Luke is “cute air” which implies she has indeed given this Luke crush idea some thought.

That moment of just two best friends talking about the others potential crush like that’s such a good moment bc I genuinely believe that I am watching these two genuine besties just have that kind of talk with one another bc that happens!

Like that moment we have with our friends when they’re like “hey I got something to tell you 👀” or they approach you like “so… umm… I’ve been kind of noticing your behavior lately around this person.” It’s the realistic little things like that which is why I appreciate this show so much.

Julie having the line of “what no! Luke’s a ghost!” Means so much that, on top of acknowledging “hey he’s got a cute smile, and he himself is cute” she also acknowledged “…he is a ghost though…” but then our Julie being who she is (we love her for it) went “but he still do be cute though 🥰” like this is a genuine teen girl in high school having a crush

And then later on when Reggie and Alex bring up how Luke and Julie ooze chemistry (and the way that throughout the show when Julie and Luke are being cute and them, the looks that we see Reggie and Alex give like Juke and then each other is so good bc I genuinely believe like “yeah these boys are all friends with one another so of course they’d react that way to their other friend showing an interest in their fellow friend”) Luke’s like “no come on I have chemistry with everyone I sing with” HE DOES THE SAME THING JULIE DID WHEN THE EXACT SAME TOPIC EAS BROUGHT UP TO HER! (Soulmates your honor!)

Him denying it, like Julie did, implies too that he also had the thinking of “…she is alive though and I’m not” (I mean me personally I feel like Luke didn’t truly realize he liked her until later on even if there were signs earlier, just bc he seems like the kind of person where like music was his absolute everything like even if the Sunset Curve fangirls were always like ‘omg Luke is amazing 😍’, I just get the vibe that he would never really notice the advances towards him bc he is just so consumed in music and that is his whole existence, so when Reggie and Alex see that Luke appears to be falling for Julie it’s a big deal bc they’re probably like “Luke has NEVER shown any interest ever so the fact that a girl has replaced music in his life THIS IS A MASSIVE DEAL”)

And then the moment when they’re on Julie’s porch and she tries to hold his hand but ya know CANT (huge what a gut punched) and then she awkwardly looks away and he’s like “…this is an interesting little relationship you and I have” and they’re just there for a moment just looking and smiling at each other (THEY’RE FLIRTING SO MUCH WITHOUT SAYING ANY WORDS UGH TAKE ME 😩)

I am sat there genuinely believing that these are two teenagers who even though they know they’re not *supposed* to feel a way about each other, they still do. Like that scene is their confession to one another and it’s so sweet and genuine bc in that moment where Julie tries to hold his hand, they’re brought back to reality as to what they are and yet, they can’t help but still like one another and appreciate each other bc of what the other person has changed so much in their life.

AND THEN, that scene in the beginning of the last episode how Julie asks to talk to Luke (and Reggie and Alex immediately are like “oop leave them be 👀 they’re having a moment” being the greatest friends that they are) and they’re both standing there, in each others presence, it takes a moment for Julie to say what she wants to but they’re just two kids who ended up in each others lives and they know they like each other but they know they can’t act on those feelings yet they still just have this love for each other is so enduring and charming. The way Luke tells her “anything Julie you know that” MAKES ME MELT like ugh 😩 their dynamic and friendship has grown so much with each other from episode 1 to like now and it’s so just ugh it gets me

When I think how Juke could have been approached if we had gotten a chance, I would have loved to see the new like “glowing touch” development and how that would impact their dynamic. (I just imagine Reggie just hugs Julie all the time bc he can (he just seems like such a hugger and I feel like he’d give good ones🥺) and Alex also will gives her side hugs (they just take advantage of being able to physically touch her bc they don’t know how long they’re able to do it for with their new ghost development)) I feel like Luke and Julie would just be a bit apprehensive since the hand holding thing on the porch, and maybe their hug was just a one time thing.

Would have loved to see Carlos referring to Luke as “Julie’s boyfriend” (he was there for edge of great and stand tall THERES NO WAY he’s thinking anything of than “the sleeveless one is indeed my sisters boyfriend”) would be extra great too with like Luke being in the room and Carlos just says that and Julie quickly trying to make him not talk about it bc it’s embarrassing 💀 her just being like “Carlos, he’s a ghost” and him being like “…hey with you having a boyfriend are you going to have less time with Dad and I bc you’ll be busy kissing him?” And Julie’s face just goes pale as Luke takes the time to take himself out of room meanwhile his face his like bright red

Would have loved to see when Carrie’s redemption is happening and it’s Julie and Carrie and Carrie’s like “sooooo 👀 I’ve seen how you look at your guitarist” and she immediately tries to shut it down but Carrie is like “Jules, we may not have been that close in the past year and some but we’ve known each other for how long? I can see your tells!”

I just think a lot about how this ship, even though they’re not meant to like each other yet they do and still care about each other, would have been approached more if we got the chance

dean being older than sam and having experience with an apple pie life “pre-hunting” is so incredibly fundamental to their characters and the way they function (especially in the early seasons) it’s insane.

dean knowing how their family used to be before losing mary and spending his whole life trying to desperately piece it back together because it’s the only good he’s ever had and he romanticizes it even though he knows it wasn't perfect because it’s so good compared to what they have now vs sam knowing nothing but hunting and the family fractured by grief and wanting that same normal life by escaping because he can’t picture his family ever being like that.

like dean trying desperately to stay the loyal soldier to his father and look after sammy and do everything that’s needed of him for his family because he saw how it crumbled and how mary’s death tore them apart vs sam feeling constantly slighted his entire life because he’s never seen his family be a proper family that treats him the way he deserves. he has no history of happy family so he lashes out because he doesn’t feel there’s anything there to preserve. he has no hang ups on telling john how it is because he has no twisted up loyalty to a now broken and dysfunctional family.

it also explains so well how they view hunting and getting out. like sam hates it and wants out so bad because he views hunting as the source of all his family's problems and if they had never started hunting they wouldn't be "like that". he wants out because he believes the only way to be happy and have a good life is to not be a hunter. meanwhile dean knows that their family wasn't perfect before losing mary and starting to hunt ("their marriage wasn't perfect until after she died" and that entire scene show that really well). he knows that really there are problems everywhere and that family is complicated and that the issue lies more with their family than with hunting. he doesn't wish desperately to get out the way sam does because he knows there are problems with life no matter what and the only thing he's ever had in his life that was good was his family so he works so desperately to fix it and keep it together.

like dean looks at their family and says “this used to be so good and its the only good i've ever known and that’s buried here somewhere and i can get back if i’m Good Enough” vs sam saying “this has never been anything but a disaster and will never be anything but a disaster so if i want something perfect i have to leave”

Hey I’m new to the LMK fandom, why do so many people ship Sun Wukong and Macaque??

A lot of people like the hurt/comfort potential because of their backstory and because they’re just really good counterparts lol. Macaque even makes a whole play about their past relationship, which is where a lot of that fuel for the ship comes from and the whole “the hero and the warrior were like the sun and the moon” spiel that people love using for shits and giggles. There’s also a really strong enemies to lovers sentiment and i think it’s kinda sweet

Personally, I just really like riffing off the divorced energy. To me, these idiots would rather beat the shit out of each other than make up and I really really eat that up. Not just as a joke, maybe as a way to cope with their feelings like “I want things to go back the way they were but this is all I can do”

Just finished my synth Codsworth redesign, so here!!

I'll probably change a few things as I continue to draw him, but yeah, this is the base idea. Here's a few facts about this design under the cut:

•Seein as he doesn't have weapons built into him anymore, he wields a Mr. Handy buzz blade and a flamer as his main weapons, though they can obviously be swapped out for others.

•His base outfit is a combination of different colored male formal wear from New Vegas and a far more clean version of the metal armor from 4. I actually considered havin him wear robot armor over top of the suit, but I thought it wouldn't look as good as the regular metal armor. Also gave him a bowler hat since he can actually wear one in game.

• Despite bein a fully lifelike synth that could pass as human, he does have prototype synth eyes, and parts of his body are damaged, exposin some of the metal. Most visible in the blank reference below.

HELL, fontaines whole quest was abt focalors tricking celestia for hundreds of yrs. even zhongli, the oldest archon and who was lit there for the cataclysm retired his archinhood... leaving liyue without a god ... just like khaenri'ah was....

like! not only do i think it wld be fair for kaeya to side with khaenri'ah just based on his personal feelings frm being from there, but also lit everything in the plot is pointing to overthrowing celestia as being The Good Outcome so its like.... come on guys...

around the time mimi gets high status in school, robin goes missing. mimi just finds out one day and knew bailey had to do something w/ it. usually mimi tries to go for self-preservation (picking her battles, trying not to be a target), but this is freaking robin. since they have a shared history and struggle together, she accepts to pay for his debt

she becomes his emotional support and rock. robin is understandably battered, so mimi prioritizes his well-being more... but then, whitney comes along to challenge her status. not only is she caring for a traumatized friend and making ends meet, she's potentially losing something that makes her feel safe: her social standing in school. it just puts mimi in a v tight spot.

mimi becomes overwhelmed by it all, and ends up distancing from robin. robin's still recovering from his trauma, and he needs mimi more than ever. so he gets upset and confused by her lack of presence. mimi apologizes, promising she'll be there for him more....but then, she fails to deliver. so it causes a rift between them, with robin getting mad at her for breaking her promise and mimi saying he has never shown care for her.

Taking a long break from discord because i am genuinely hurt by someone who i thought was a friend of mine ghosting and completely ignoring me. I hate feeling like this and its ruined my entire week so i decided to separate myself from discord since he is on that the most. I've unfriended him on there and left the dm group chat I personally made for me and my friends to chat outside of the game since he ended up getting invited to it.

I think im just hurt bc we had this convo before about communicating and telling each other if the other did something to upset the other and like...

For someone so big on respect and communication, he surely cannot give it back. Its not like he's just gone because he literally speaks to my other friends perfectly fine. i was talking to my wife abt stuff and she pointed out something that changed my view on this subject forever

for a long time i was highkey bitter about younger people today with their "scenecore" and "nostalgiacore" and "kidcore" and such b/c i was like "you werent there, what are you nostalgic for???? youre all such posers" bc like. i LIVED thru that. i was a kid in the 2000s/2010s and i was Involved in the culture of that time, i know what im talking about when i talk about that stuff. so it genuinely upset me and bothered me when today's kids would be like "i love scenecore :3 lolz XD" when they werent there for when that was like, A Thing. yknow? it felt so disingenuous and fake to me.

HOWEVER. my wife pointed out that its basically the same as like...ppl who were born later being really interested in the 70s or 80s or 90s for example. ppl take interest in cultural periods that they didnt experience and thats completely normal. so why are we treating the 2000s/10s any different

it rly made me think. like man. ive been kinda mean about it i think LOL im so sorry. i had my eyes opened today tho
