Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

Your first initial impressions of any Twst character vs your current feelings about them?

honestly, my perception of pretty much every character went through some metamorphosis of "this guy looks like a jerk" to "oh, he's a stupid jerk? now hold on." it's all about that balancing act between a dark brooding asshole and a dark brooding asshole who is also totally ridiculous, and it really does make ALL the difference.

perhaps most ironically, I've mentioned before that I was absolutely not into the Diasomnias at first, because the impression the website gave pre-release was somehow even less favorable than for everyone else and I was mad at Lilia for getting my hopes up for a token girl). and then we got their stories and, well, I kind of just haven't stopped thinking about them since. 🤷

also, I went in thinking that Crowley was going to be. y'know. competent at his job. a helpful guide. a mysterious yet caring mentor figure, a fitting leader for this band of delicate young magic waifs with their fancy little magic outfits and their perfect, perfect hair. I've never been so glad to be wrong.

It's starting to drive me nuts how often I'm seeing the claim that the "southern" Chantry and its relationship with magic have zero influence in the north.

The Chantry schism created the Imperial Chantry vs. the Orlesian Chantry. Imperial because it’s only a thing in the Tevinter Imperium. That’s one country in the north.

Yes, we only get to see the Mournwatch in Veilguard, but have we forgotten the College of Magi in Cumberland? The philosophical heart of the Circle of Magi? Where they used to elect the Grand Enchanters? How about the Circle of Perendale? There’s an actual wartable mission about Perendale's mages who barricaded themselves in for fear of what the general populace will do to them!

Remember Zevran mentioning the Circle in Antiva and how the templars there were watching the mages like "a jealous husband guarding the chastity of a wanton bride"? Remember Josephine's line "little but the Chantry ties Orlais, Nevarra, Ferelden, Antiva, and even Rivain to a common cause"?

You think Brother Genitivi - a Fereldan Chantry brother - would call the Anderfels a nation that produces the most devout priests if they didn’t give af about the Orlesian Chantry? The place where they carved a giant statue of Andraste into a mountain?

Rivain, sure, the Chantry’s influence there has always been minimal (though ironically, the aftermath of the Dairsmuid Circle's annulment is the only time we actually see the Chantry’s influence up north in this game). But Nevarra, Antiva and the Anderfels?!

Sorry, no, there's an entire list of known Circles of Magi readily available online. Don’t freaking try to tell me that people everywhere were letting their mages cuddle wisps and shit, and it was only Orlais, Ferelden and the Free Marches that didn’t get the memo! Of course there have always been cultural differences, but "we're in the north now" is a piss-poor excuse for Veilguard's absence of any palpable faith.

It damn well should have mattered who we put on the Sunburst Throne.

Hear me out! Danny finds his human form slowly getting more eldrich as he gets older (and more powerful) and ends up going to Gotham where people are way less likely to ask questions!

Sadly when the people of Gotham see Danny, oops my shadow has eyes now, Fenton they just assume he's gonna be a new Rouge!

Que the bat fam watching Danny waiting for him to make his move, over-analyzing everything he does. Mans can't even buy a new laptop without Bruce breathing down his neck about it

This would be an issue if Danny wasn't such a little troll, and he starts buying more obviously ominous things only to openly use them in improperly boring and normal ways. Like buys a death lazer and can be seen using it to make toast, buys a cursed box full of death themed artifacts and uses it as a coffee table, that kinda stuff.

Every time the bat's assume 'this is it!' And gets ready to take him down, only to see Danny setting up a new 'coat rack' made of kriptonite

Even better when they see him tinkering on some kind of doomsday device, the kind that looks super evil and dangerous and even has a red count down timer on the front and- it's a fucking air frier again! He already has three! Why does he keep making air friers?! Obviously this must be some kind of scheme

I raise you: Danny starts selling his things out to random citizens (they've all been intensely screened). The bats panic thinking this is an attempt to cripple Gotham in one fell swoop. Nope. Ms. Randall just really needed a new air purifier and Danny had a toxin dispenser that was just collecting dust.

I imagine though that he might start to notice that the bats are focusing on him a little too much which is a problem considering there are things going down in Gotham that actually need their attention. But at the same time, our resident ghost boy isn't ready to stop being a menace just yet. So what does he do? Kill too birds with one stone.

Whenever Danny catches wind of a new plot going down, he does something to draw the bats's attention to it. Two Face planning a robbery? Suddenly Danny is showing up to the bank everyday to work on the vault (he offered to reinforce it for free). The bats get so suspicious they focus hard on the bank and discover Two Face's plot before he can do anything.

The bats pat themselves on the back while Danny giggles in the background. Wonder how long it will take for them to figure out what's going on.

Eddie mentions on a live-stream that he’s going to have to cut the stream soon because he’s about to leave the house, “We have a get-together to be at in ten minutes but Steve takes forever fixing his hair so we got another twenty minutes before I got to sign off.”

Twenty minutes on the dot later, Steve comes into the room. His hair looks amazing when he leans into frame to kiss Eddie on the top of the head, “Your hair looks good.”

“Used a defuser,” Eddie says, tilting his head up so Steve kisses him on the lips. “Yours looks-.”

“You actually look really good today, Ed,” Steve says and then claps a hand on his shoulder, “But Robin’s wearing the exact same outfit so go change.”

“…Did you know that an hour ago when I got dressed?”

“Yep!”

An inconsistently drawn comic based on the BillStill AU by @jellynut !

I really like this AU for a number of reasons, but my number 1 is the simple horror of having no privacy, and the idea of a character trying to bond with their family while knowing a demon is overhearing/mocking every bit of vulnerability. (I also have a comic about Bill messing with one of Stan's memories because I'm a sucker for psychological mess-ery, but it was too ugly to post!!) Have this drawing which is less unfinished and therefore allowed to be here.
