AH HECK I forgot Platinum Grim was also this month! dangit I need to reprioritize everything now. gotta save some keys for the boss in his snazzy little suit!

(I think pre-lab Grim you could just buy his candy for alchemy coins, and that's also what they're doing for Rollo, so that's probably what they'll do! someone correct me if I'm remembering wrong though)

They are describing all the characters in a few words and when they get to Silco its just "DEAD. He's dead." And they move on. Words cannot describe how infuriating this is. You couldn't even describe him in season 1? If it's only in the context of season 2 than why even bother having him in the first place? I don't need someone to remind me.

Hey y'all! Another weird question for you: How long do you have to fast for a blood sugar reading to count as a fasting blood sugar measurement? Also, does drinking soda (like, full sugar soda) slowly over the time before the blood test count as not-fasting? Asking because I keep testing* in the fasting blood sugar range when I am pretty sure I am not supposed to. Like, two hours after eating a meal when I've been slowly drinking soda the whole intervening time, or half an hour after drinking a whole full-sugar gatorade *with the home blood sugar test thing, not like doctor's office tests. though I test in the fasting range there too? I do know the word for the tester thing but I am brain fogged at the moment

On tossing books, and what that doesn’t sound like; or, There Arose Such a Clatter

I’m a librarian. I’ve thrown a number of books in my lifetime. It usually sounds, more or less, like this. (Click the links in this post for video examples.)

It has never, in all of my career, sounded like this:

You know what could reasonably sound like that? Making a clumsy hot mess of a selection of metallic magic implements.

Weird clattering noises don't only happen to books, in the world of Good Omens, it turns out. They also happen when Aziraphale gets out of the car after coming back from Edinburgh. And when he and Crowley walk back toward the Bentley with Crowley's plants.

I haven't watched 2.5 or 2.6 to listen for clatters yet. There may well be more.

Wait, is Lilia canonically 700? I thought he was thousands of years old. Did I miss something in Chapter 7....

I thought so too! the stuff about his real birthday being lost to time, the way he talks about the planetary alignment thing that only happens every 100 years, and other things like that made me think he was waaaay older than he is. but nope, in 7-26 he says he's just shy of turning 700! (so he's actually like. 699.) his particular type of fae can live to around 1000, but he's running down early because he pushed himself too much when he was younger (and also he plays too many online games) (he was probably not serious about that but c'mon, man, at least use a blue-light filter or something).

meanwhile, Mal is from a much longer-lived race that doesn't even reach adulthood until 1000 (500 is young adult, and 200 is still a little fledgeling dragon baby). Lilia doesn't say exactly how old he is, except that he's developmentally a "little" older than the third-years (so like about 20 in dragon years? ...can Leona sense this. is this part of why he sees Malleus as his Eternal Rival.) which means he's probably somewhere around or just under 500.

...I just realized that, depending on when it happened, this means Lilia might've been, like, mentally a teenager during the flashback of The Time Baby Malleus Almost Killed Everybody. he's just had Dad Instincts his entire life, I guess.

WHAT happened??? What happened to him??? Getting my copy and seeing him like that in his younger years makes me so confused again?? What am I supposed to make of this guy? What is the author's intent for forming such a character? Why... Make him like this to have him utterly destroyed to the core? What's it supposed to achieve unless it has this grand message that society is at fault or sth, but making him a serial killer?? Did he REALLY end up going out his way to kill people? I don't get it! I think he used to be a pretty lovable guy, wasn't he?? WASN'T HE? What is this story supposed to be? I want to understand it but I can't atm...woah.
