Am I basic? Yes, yes I am. I tried to keep the physical description vague but I had fun with adding Felicia's iconic attributes.

"And—"

One of the many monitors on Miguel's desk clattered to the ground. The screen of course cracking under the intense pressure.

"There goes another one," Hobie grins. Nudging Gwen as his eyes trailed over the remains. He rolled a stray bolt under the bottom of his boot before kicking it away.

Gwen promptly shushes him. Smiling awkwardly as soon as Miguel sets his eyes on them. Before she can open her mouth to hopefully ease the tension in the atmosphere a voice interrupts. A foreign voice.

"Heyo!" You laugh, eyes full of mirth as you strut into Miguel's base of operations.

Gwen may have thought Hobie was cool but she’s pretty sure he’s met his match.

Your silver hair bounces with every step and she swears pieces are almost shaped to resemble cat ears. There are yellow tinted glasses that rest on the bridge of your nose, cat eye frames. Gwen can see a pattern.

You stop short. Pointing a ringed finger in Gwen’s direction. “Cute hair.”

You can't help but relish in the various looks the Spider variants were giving you. Well, excluding Miguel O’hara, your dimension's Spider-Man.

The man has a special place in your heart regardless of the amount of worlds out there.

"Miss me Bossman?" You cheer. It isn't until you feel a hand tug on your collar that you tone down your normal eccentricities. For less than two seconds.

Tilting your head back you face Jess Drew. You offer her the least apologetic smile. She sighs, pushing you forward with a roll of her eyes.

“Thank you.” Clearing your throat you brush your hand along your shoulders. Like her touch was unwelcome.

“You must be Felicia, yeah?” Hobie interjects.

He’s studied you long enough to deduce you’ll be a fun way to further torment Miguel and Hobie will take what he can get. Although, he has the strangest feeling the two of you have already met because he knows Felicia isn’t your name.

It must be all the digging he’s done to find loopholes around Lyla and other security measures.

You whistle the moment you set your sights on him. Resting your arm on Gwen’s shoulder and glancing down at her. “Is he new-? He must be new. I would have remembered him.”

“My name isn’t Felicia,” you answer. “But pretty boy you can call me whatever you’d like.” Clicking your tongue and winking at the man. You take this time to extend your right hand.

Gwen cheeks burn for Hobie. She isn’t quite sure if anyone has ever been as outspoken as him.

“Is that right?” He chuckles. Accent thick, thicker than normal.

Is he…flirting back?

Gwen groans and she wants to die of her secondhand embarrassment.

You’re still holding onto his hand as you tap your pointer finger on the face of his watch.

“Oh, English.” You purse your black stained lips. Batting your lashes underneath your lenses. “Dreams do come true.”

Hobie is slightly taken aback. Who is he kidding- your fingers are tugging at his gloves of course his heart is fluttering like a bird but he doesn’t show it.

Instead he grins and leans down. Aware his height is the greatest intimidating factor he possesses. “Funny, I was thinking the same thing when you walked in love.”

His mind short circuits. What did you just do with your eyes? It’s bad enough you weren’t fazed but to openly oglie him. Is your hand on his chest? Can you feel his heart beating?

“What a charmer. I think I’ll keep you.”

Internally you’re laughing at how easy it is to charm him. It really must be in your dna.

You release him only to tap your palm on his cheek. With what little sympathy you had you decided to spare him with a warning.

“I have business to attend to gorgeous. You should wait out in the hall, things could get messy.” Your voice a hush whisper as your eyes glint with what can only be described as mischief. “For your own good.”

Subtlety is your strong suit when you want it to be.

With a careful gesture you expose the blinking red bug you had placed on Miguel’s monitor. The one that had undoubtedly latched onto Hobie’s watch while he witnessed the destruction with Gwen earlier.

With a confident stride back you prepare to head up to meet a seething Miguel. Playing with the bug that had returned to your finger disguised as a ruby.

Gwen is perplexed as Hobie takes her by the arm with the lamest excuse known to man. She wants to ask ‘what about the mission?’ but only receives an excited grin.

“We don’t want to miss the show,” he counters.

A second later the alarms blare before the building slowly shuts down. Lights flickering and chaos ensuing. A total blackout.

Hobie now recalls seeing you in a white cap adorning a janitor’s uniform. Another day in the cafeteria. The next in one of the training simulators. Wearing the same ruby ring.

You hum happily as you skip through your planned escape route. The power of the multiverse in the palm of your hand but most importantly, files from Alchemax.

You’re going to miss bantering with Hobie. The poor guy.

I grew up watching desperate housewives when it would have reruns on Lifetime and they would play a bunch in the afternoon during the summer. it was extremely nostalgic and and some truly iconic shit was happening!!

I am just about done with rewatching S1 (don’t ask when I started it’s extremely embarrassing) and here’s my thoughts thus far to catch us up:

Tom Scavo is a fucking DOG which is really an insult to dogs. When I watched as a kid I thought he was handsome and youthful but now as an adult I would like to personally run him over with a bus George O’Malley style #007

I loved Martha Huber and I SWEAR TO GOD I thought she was in the entire show???? So when Paul killed her I was like okay this is nuts how is she gonna come back from this? Is she faking her own death? Nope, just fucking dead. How insane that a character from a handful of episodes had such a fucking IMPACT like RIP you drama queen

Susan is the most annoying character on any show almost ever (I know this is a common feeling but I just had to include myself in the we hate Susan club)

Bree is carrying the whole show on her fucking back and also she has the OG gay son thot daughter

Anyway...

I am excited to keep rewatching and dropping in every once in awhile to share my dumbass takes and maybe some memes and also really just act like my girl Felicia here sipping the tea (also can we talk about her fuckass bob please)!

Okay time to get sappy a week after the finale LMAOO

As always, The Tag is my favorite part of the season and if we get good feeds along with it? A feast. And a majority of this season was like that, and I shall highlight some of my favorite memories from throughout the season and the tag that I will always be thinking about in years to come

- This is the funniest one for me, but us being locked out of the tag during reilly’s eviction and how we discovered that just minutes before the episode started, but that didn’t stop us from live blogging anyway LMAOO.

- And then they had the AUDACITY to announce the pressure cooker was finally coming back the following week and we couldn’t even properly celebrate together so we were all just screaming into the void😭 (or the nether region lol)

- That random vegan person who dropped the season bc Felicia asked for real butter lmao??

- Omg that chipmunk account we all thought was ohthecleverness and y’all called it the squeakuel and i think this person vanished from the tag

- GOING BACK TO THE PRESSURE COOKER, THE FEEDS THAT NIGHT??? Immaculate.

- It was magic to watch that in real time with each other. The shock we were in that the hgs broke an hour and then come to find out they almost broke the original record by mere MINUTES.

- The panic every time someone we liked dropped. The collective “CORY NO”’s live rent free to me.

- Us STRESSING so badly when Cameron wouldn’t let go and then America threw it to him😭 truly was magic tho

- Watching Cory go from someone the tag tolerated to being the IT boy of the season and the tag, iconic, that speech and debate boy had those hgs clawing walls

- Cory shutting down any misogynistic or problematic comment from anyone (the 21 turned 22 year old being the most responsible person this season should be studied)

- Corswhores that’s it LMAOO

- Cory suffering from the second juror curse

- America truly being one of us

- Cirie a queen to watch live

-omg that time Cirie said “I ain’t never played with people this stupid before.” SHE WAS AHEAD OF HER TIME

-Izzy deserved sm better from the edit, you could not escape this girl on the feeds

-The episode edits sucking for a vast majority of the season and for the houseguests (i swear i’ve never seen a season’s edit and its feeds be completely different from each other before how tf did that happen)

- Our collective hatred for the multiverse twist

- FUCKING BOWIE JANE

- Everything about Felicia really, the FBJ remix, her and Mr B (smooches), even tho she was pawned all summer watching her game was so fun

- HISAM ROBBED KING BUT HE SAVED US FROM THE REILLY CULT

- Us being split just like the house during the Izzy flip (we managed to stay more civil than twitter ever did, as we should)

- AND HOW COULD I FORGET THE JARED AND CORY FIGHT IN THE HAVE NOT ROOM???

- Two hours of Jared forcing everyone to go in circles, Cory reaching his limit, Jag coming in, Cirie coming in, Bowie just sitting there

-“Who the fuck is for real for real???”

- This exchange kills me everytime idk why

Cory: You also told me seven deadly sins was fake.

Jared: Who THE FUCK told you that???

Cory: YOU DID.

Jared: You wanna know why I told you that?

- Jared’s “YOU must’ve misunderstood.” about Matt, and then Cory’s immediate “WHOA, WHOA, NO.” Lives rent free

- “Jared, you have been yelling for forty minutes.”

- Y’all remember that assignment i did about this fight? Not only did i get a perfect score but i also got a bonus point and my prof wrote a note that i was so descriptive he wanted to watch LMAO

- The post season being less chaotic than the actual season is such a funny ending

Alright all of that highlighted, despite the chaos and the exhaustion of this 100 day season (BB gods never do this to us again oh my god) it’s been such a pleasure to open up the tag and read my morning newspaper the last three months LMAOO.

This has been the most active I’ve been in the tag thus far and with a season this all over place, it was a trip. But, truthfully, I’d do it again. You guys always make all the nonsense worth it because despite the different sides we’ve been on all season, we know this show is a train wreck and that our real enemy is always production 😭

Thank you guys again for such a lovely community these past few months, and we shall be back in few weeks tragically 🥲🫡💙

Wow, 1000 followers?! It's hard to believe how far we've come on this journey together, isn't it? As I sit here and reflect, my heart is overflowing with gratitude and appreciation for each and every one of you who has followed me along the way. I feel so incredibly blessed and lucky to have picked up such a wonderful community of people who share in my passions and interests.

Although I may not be able to personally converse with every single one of you as much as I would like to, please know that I see you all there and your support has not gone unnoticed. Every single like and comment means the world to me and I am so grateful for the connection we have built.

I have to give a special shoutout to my fellow RPers here. You all are some of my absolute favorite people and best friends. The way we are able to escape into these different worlds together is truly a gift and I cherish every moment we spend together. THE DARK SEEPING IN (BRATZ FASHION PIXIEZ REIMAGINING) CH. 7

Breeana and the girls prepare for the upcoming Magnolia Ball, surprised to find Cymbeline has flaked out.

AN: Okay, so this one is kinda shorter so I apologise! The next one will be longer however, I promise. Also, I just want to say, I noticed the increase in traffic on this story and I really appreciate everyone's kind comments! Thank you so so much, you're all so sweet.

Breeana really wanted to stop in the hall and just ask Dylan outright. She  really  wanted to. But with all those people around…And the fact she had already missed so many chances…

And the fact she had other matters to tend to, there was no point.

Her stomach was still in knots since fleeing the cafeteria like that, especially knowing many people probably saw the dramatics. From their perspective, she imagined it was like something out of a teen movie or a soap opera. 

Fortunately, Felicia was kind enough to walk with her all the way from the school, all the way to the town centre. The other girl lived in that area anyway, which was a win-win for both parties.

"You meeting your sister here?" Felicia had asked to which Breeana said yes. 

But that was a lie. She knew Cymbeline wasn't going to show up. 

Now pinning fake flowers to a vine-covered lamp post, she thought of all the things her sister could have been doing at that present moment. 

Funny how weeks prior, Cymbeline could have torn the house down with her ranting of how the organisation for the Magnolia Ball was. She needed all the help she could get to bring it all together. And now that preparations were well underway, what with everyone gathered in the town centre setting up the scenery, Breeana still wasn't surprised Cymbeline flaked out.

"What's up, bitch?"

The voice caught her off guard, turning to see Yasmin approaching with a folded banner in her hand. "Sorry about earlier. You know, the cafeteria. I mean, I don't know why you got up and left like that, but sorry anyway."

Breeana blinked, unsure of what to say. "Oh, um. Sorry about that. I just…had bad cramps."

"Ugh, I feel that." Yasmin stroked Breeana's shoulder. "Fuck having a uterus."

Breeana managed a breath of a laugh. "Yeah, for real."

Then Cloe came next. "Hey, guys!" She hurried over, holding a small object in her hand, "Look! It's a petal. It fell from the tree. Like, wow!"

"Never change, angel." Yasmin rolled her eyes yet smiled.

"Hey, ladies!" Yet another voice came. Sasha and Jade were now joining the equation. Breeana's stomach churned. Of all of Cymbeline's friends, she always found both Jade and Sasha to be the more upfront ones. And she knew what was to come.

"So we got the music line-up from the DJ. It's gonna pop." Sasha waved the piece of paper in front of Yasmin's face.

The Latina took the list, her eyes scanning it. "Nice mix. Current tracks with some '80s and '90s. Just getting the nostalgia in there."

Cloe peeked over Yasmin's shoulder, also analysing the words on the paper. "Oh my God, yes. They got Spice Girls on there! Can we all recreate that act we used to do in kindergarten?"

"You still remember that?" Jade blew out a cloud of smoke, having pulled out her vape.

"Um, yeah? It was only like, uh, one of our most iconic moments ever," Cloe said as if it should have been a given. "Cymbeline and I know it off by heart still."

And there it was, the invitation to the topic. If only Breeana had just run away.

"Where is Cymbeline anyway?" Sasha's eyes scanned the square.

"Oh, shit. I didn't even realise." Cole shrugged.

Breeana turned back to the lamp post, starting to decorate in the hopes the older girls would just take this discussion elsewhere.

"I don't know why you're all acting brand new and surprised." Yasmin unfolded her banner just to fold it back up. "Kinda knew she wasn't coming, what with her being so busy around her girlfriend these days."

"Bitch, are you crazy? Her Dad funds this shit. She organises everything. It's, like, her life's mission to make this shit a success!" Jade ranted.

"Unless something came up?" Sasha shrugged, then peered past Yasmin to the youngest Devlin. "You know where she at, Bree'?"

"Fuck, I," Breeana faked a sigh, "I'm not sure. I mean…I think she's on her period or something. She had to go home real quick."

"Oh, shit. You're both synced. You guys must be witches," Cloe suggested with a giggle.

"Haha. Yeah."

"No - No - No. Seriously," Sasha waved her hand around, not in favour of the distraction, "Cymbeline would never let a period stop her from doing shit. She would - - Fuck, we have a party tonight. You gonna tell me next that she ain't going to that?"

And Breeana panicked, "I-I don't know. She hasn't really - -"

"Tone it down, Bunny Boo," Cloe put a calming hand on Sasha's shoulder. "It's not that big of a deal."

The flared-up girl turned back to Cloe with a raised brow. There was something in her eyes as if telepathically communicated to Cloe. But all that left her mouth was, "Alright. Cool."

That should have relaxed the younger Devlin sister. But she wasn't dumb enough to miss the insincerity in Sasha's voice.

"Let's just finish decorating. We still gotta get ready for tonight," Yasmin then looked at Breeana, " You  coming later?"

"I actually wasn't invited to whatever it is," Breeana said, sounding more sorry for herself than she meant to.

"Viper's party," Sasha said like it was common knowledge.

"Viper?"

"You know, Cade." She elaborated.

"His birthday party at  Basement.  Koby's band's playing," Jade added.

" Sasha ," Cloe said more sternly.

"Yeah, come on, bitch. Let's just…get this shit done and go get ready." Yasmin steered Sasha away, nodding apologetically to the younger girl.

There were a few murmurs amongst Cymbeline's friends, but Breeana paid no heed. She had a job to do. A job her sister was once so passionate about.

"You sure you don't wanna come, Bree'?"

"I just wasn't invited in the first place, you know?" Breeana explained on the phone, rubbing moisturiser all over her face and neck. When Dylan's name appeared on her phone, her stomach flipped, practically jumping into her throat. But how could she ignore this opportunity?

"Girl, everybody is invited. Coulda just showed up, you feel?"  Dylan continued. There was the sound of him drinking from a bottle and the music thumping in the background. Very Oliver Tree-type beats.

"Yeah, but still. I don't know. Social anxiety and all," Breeana blushed, scooping the phone up to her ear, turning speaker mode off. Venturing out of her bathroom, she flopped down on the bed. "I know it's not a huge issue, but…my brain just doesn't work that way, you know?"

"Yeah, I feel. Cloe used to be like that. But having those other girls around her, it kinda just brought out the side she always wanted everybody to see, you know?" 

"Yeah…"  Easier said than done, though,  Breeana refrained from saying. "Are they there?" She asked for no reason in particular.

"Nah, ain't seen them around. They better show up soon. Cameron is hounding me so much, already asking where Blondie is. What about your sister and her gothy lady friend. Are they on route?" 

Breeana sighed, hoping it wasn't heard. “Cymbeline’s just…exhausted and, you know - -”

"Don't worry, I know what you're saying. Well, shit. Next time there's a party, you can be my plus one, right?" 

Breeana flushed, allowing a smile to appear on her face. "Are you serious?"

"Yeah, girl. It would be the highlight of my year, honestly.

"You drunk, Dyl'?"

"Not at all."

Breeana giggled. "Okay. Yeah, sure. I'll be your plus one."

"Sick." 

Breeana could just hear the smile in his voice. Fuck, everything about this boy just had her melting.

"I saw you in the hall earlier, by the way. I was gonna talk to you, but that bitch ass Zach got in my way."  Dylan sipped from whatever he was drinking.

And Breeana knew what was coming. But now, she was less on edge.

Well, that was until she heard the clacking of heels.

 "I was supposed to ask earlier."

Cymbeline zoomed passed Breeana's bedroom door, clearly in a hurry.

"What did you want to say in the cafeteria?"

It was now or never. "Hang on, Dylan. I gotta go. I'll call you back."

Before she could give in to his protests, she hung up.

Breeana breathed in deeply. She got up off her bed and followed her sister.

I don't interact with too many spider-man blogs but there's quite a few that I've seen around that are all really good! and i'd love to write with some of them sometime! there's a few other blogs who write marvel characters and/or characters that show up in spider-man comics though! I'm sure that I'm going to forget someone and I'm worried about that but! thank you!

@dangerstxrlet is definitely one! they love mj and give her the love and attention that she deserves and is worthy of. I legit can't say enough good things about them. follow them, you won't regret it. the amount of knowledge they have on both peter and mj is just phenomenal

@redhead-reporter is super sweet and outgoing and is a wonderful mj too! I haven't done as much as I've wanted to but I love seeing them on my dash and I am all for any and all mj love and appreciate

@symbiotesoldier is another, they're wonderful and do flash thompson the justice he deserves. @emmatriarchy has many muses but also some spider ones. both are wonderful people who I've followed for years and you cannot go wrong at all with them

@modelscience writes a beautiful gwen and gives her a wonderful attention to detail. gwen is often kind of glossed over (maybe not so much anymore with the webb movies) but still, she's so, so important to peter!!

@purrvoke is so freaking great and they love felicia hardy with all of their soul. they also have a pun for their url, i mean. come on. how can you go wrong with that?? I love tossing ideas around with, scratch and the fact that we both are obsessed with ben (clone) and felicia is proof that we're correct.

@athicf loves felicia and does her the justice she deserves also. and rightly hates all of a certain writer's work on her. she gets her motivation and characterization down better than a lot of comic writers.

@murdcck is the daredevil and I adore nemo. and peter loves matt murdock. seriously, I love them so much and writing these two is ALWAYS a joy. because, they're just so much fun.

@revenantinflames is the johnny storm that I write with. I love jess so freaking much and I am SO happy to have them back and active on here. peter and johnny are one of the most iconic friendships in all of marvel.

HELLO EVERYONE I’M BACK AGAIN WITH A TAG GAME. I got tagged by @delphiss tyy!! I intend to use this for evil.

1. Why did you choose your url?  Okay so actually my url originates from my wattpad days, when I wanted to rebrand at some point to something like ‘phoenix’ or whatever. Sadly all those names were taken so I went for firebirds instead. This was like 3 or 4 years ago, but when I got tired of my old url here about a year ago, conveniently enough firebirds was still free and here we are!

2. Any side blogs? if you have them, name them and why you have them. Wouldn’t you like to know? But to answer part of this question, last August I made a sideblog to interact with a very very specific part of a fandom of something that got wiped out of existence in November (if you know you Know). I posted on there like 5 times tho so it was kinda pointless and I’ve deactivated it. On the other hand I’ve been thinking about making a sideblog dedicated to my favourite DC character but who knows if I ever will tbh.

hi! bit of a weird question, if you don't mind me asking - if I wanted to watch just a couple episodes of Vox Machina to, say, get a bit of an idea of the relationship between Percy and the twins early in the campaign and what Percy's workshop in Greyskull Keep looks like, would you happen to have any episode suggestions? -Chock

Oooh this is a fun question, and I love the implications of you asking it! It’s been a couple years since I started getting into CR (I listen to the podcast version, as it’s easier for me to consume the long, long episodes that way) so my memories are fuzzy about what happens when. I went reading through some episode recaps to refresh myself.

I’m going to list a bunch here that have meaningful bits, but then I’ll highlight a subset in case you really can only afford the time for a select few. (This got LONG but I tried to be specific about the parts that matter!)

Episode 18, "Trial of the Take: Part 1" – I feel like this is the first time we really get to see Percy’s character take the stage, beyond firearm support in various battles. The party is split, with Vex and Vax separated, so Percy only gets to interact with Vex here (along with Grog, Scanlan, and two delightful guest characters, one of which is played by Felicia Day). Most of the focus is on making progress on the mission, though Percy does have an entertaining battle moment in his skivvies.

Episode 23, “The Rematch” – The first half of this episode is just a big championship boxing match between Grog and an NPC, but the second half has Percy hunting for ammunition supplies, and Matt goes full ham into playing the most ridiculous, comedic side character in support of that. It’s fantastic. By the end of the episode, the party is back at Greyskull Keep, with Percy heading down to his shop to get to work.

Episode 24, “The Feast” – This opens with Percy in his workshop, where he talks to the party about his backstory that’s about to come into play with the current story arc. Percy does a lot of tinkering in this episode. He and Vax do some identity-disguising. (It’s either at the end of this episode or the beginning of the next in which Vax, in a moment of panic and fluster, calls Lord and Lady Briarwood “both very attractive” right to their faces. Bi disaster icon.)

Episode 25, “Crimson Diplomacy” – Intense battle with the baddies of Percy’s backstory. Vax doesn’t fare well. Percy has an iconic one-liner that sets up his next major arc. (This is also the kickoff for the Percy-centered storyline that flows through the next ten episodes or so. With so much focus on him, there are a lot of scattered interactions he has with the twins alongside the rest of the party, hence me listing almost every episode of this arc.)

Episode 27, “The Path to Whitestone” – Percy’s workshop is the site of an encounter in the first part of the episode. Just before the mid-episode break, there’s a conversation between Percy and the party where they pledge support to him. The second half of the episode is mostly adventure action.

Episode 29, “Whispers” – The first half of the episode has Vax, Percy, and Scanlan out on a mission of their own. (This is the birth of Vox Machina’s most persistently confounding opponent: doors.) The second half has an encounter significant to Percy’s arc and the whole party’s relationship with him, particularly Vax, Vex, and Keyleth.

Episode 30, “Stoke the Flames” – Some character- and relationship-building conversations are had between Percy and the rest of the party, particularly with Vax and Vex, at the outset of the episode. Lots of adventuring subterfuge for the remainder.

Episode 31, “Gunpowder Plot” – Vax and Percy have a team-up moment during the initial battle, and Vax ends up bookending a lot of Percy’s actions throughout. Vex and Percy have an intense interaction in the aftermath. The back end of the episode is more subterfuge and battling.

Episode 32, “Against the Tide of Bone” – After some initial action, the party splits, putting Vex, Vax, Percy, and Keyleth together. When the party is reunited, Vex expresses some concern about Percy to Pike. Vax and Percy have a heart-to-heart during the night watch in the second half of the episode, in which Vax lays clear how he’s felt about Percy in the past, but he comes around.

Episode 33, “Reunions” – Vex, and to a slightly lesser extent Vax, is generally supportive of Percy as they meet an old enemy of his. In the midst, and aftermath, of a battle, Vex and Percy and Vax all have interactions that point to their evolving relationships. Another encounter pits members of the party against each other against their wills, including these three who take hits from each other before coming back under control.

Episode 40, “Desperate Measures” – After an initial battle, there’s a scene in Percy’s workshop that involves various party members, but notably Percy and Vex facing off against Grog.

Episode 44, “The Sunken Tomb” – While camped out at the loch, Vax and Percy share a watch again and talk a bit. In the wake of an encounter, Percy and Vex make a hasty decision and Vex pays the price. Vax makes a deal to save her, initiating a significant pivot point for his character.

Episode 45, “Those Who Walk Away” – Percy tells Vax that what happened to Vex was his fault. Vax isn’t pleased.

Out of all of these, if you really just want the Best, Most Concentrated Percy + Twins Stuff™ (understanding that you’ll be missing some of the plot/motivations), I’d recommend:

When I say "It Gets Better", I mean it! (October 3rd, 2011)

I just finished watching Anderson Cooper's show on "bullying in schools". Sparked by the death of Jamey Rodemeyer, it started an interesting conversation between my husband and myself. Anderson had several stories of kids. Some who committed suicide and a few that are still here dealing with the problem. All sad stories that brought up memories of my teen years.

As I remember, the kids who were picked on were the outcasts. The "not-so-attractive", the "feminine boys", the kids  who were different in appearance and attitude were all fair game. Given the fact that my grandmother kept my hair in cornrow braids when I was in elementary school, I was most definitely considered to be a "sissy". I was constantly being told "Oh...what a cute little girl". Of course while all the other boys were interested in sports and outdoor activities, I was only interested in music and art. Both of my uncles played football. It never struck a chord with me. I would rather be in the backyard playing wit my grandmother's old pots and pans.

By the time I reached Junior High School, the bullying had escalated into pushing and tripping in the halls. Although I am very tall today, I was quite the skinny runt back in the 7th grade. My worst bully was a kid named Craig. I won't reveal his last name, but anyone who remembers me from back then would know who he is. And Craig made my life a living hell. I was afraid to walk home from school. I had to find alternative routes every other day. The worst part was that he lived right around the corner from house.

My childhood, like many out there, was filled with adversity. My mother and father married too young and were not ready to be parents. I ended up being raised by my grandmother, but by my teen years my parents had made a couple of cameos in my life. Since I was the first grandchild, my grandmother sorta let me express myself the way I wanted to. She said nothing when I would run and grab her wigs to do little shows for the family at Christmas time. She always encouraged me to sing and dream of being a star. Coincidentally, earlier today on Dr. Phil he had the author of "My Princess Boy". Sure wish that book would have been around I was coming up.

So, between the absence of my parents and also being molested by a family member, I had some days that really made me question why I was here. What did I have to live for? And believe it or not...the thought of suicide never crossed my mind. For some reason, I actually believed that there was going to be a tomorrow. I knew that one day I would be in control of me. That voice in my head that told me that I could survive this period in my life kept me alive. It made me want to show all the bullies and the P.E. coach that told me that I was never gonna be nothing that I was someone.

In 1980, I had a friend who worked at the Tampa Tribune named Kim Eisler who introduced me to the world of journalism. During one of the cameos of my mother back in the late 70's, Kim was our neighbor. He was a great influence on me. He took me to work with him and I met a lot of the editors. So, one day when my mother was at work, I got dressed in my Sunday best and walked downtown to the Tribune building. I lied to the the front desk and said I had an appointment with the City Editor, Joe Registrado. He remembered meeting me and said that I could come up. And off the top of my head at the age of 12, I came up with a small presentation with my hand written newspaper that myself, Travis Oullette and Gino Marino  produced and sold around school with some drawings that I had done. I told Joe that I wanted to write for the Tampa Tribune and that the paper needed a column for its younger readers. He sat and listened then left me in the conference room for about ten minutes. When he returned, he told me that I was hired for the summer. This would change my life forever.

When I started at Wilson Junior High back in Tampa, I felt confident that everyone was going to want to be my friend. I had articles in the local newspaper and I had collected all of the promo material that they threw out for all the latest music acts out of the time. Back then, promo kits came with folders that were made to look like the album covers. So, I used those as my school folders. I had photos of the stars and had plenty of stories about what I had learned that summer while working for the paper.

Of course you know, those things were impressive to some, but not to all. Craig hated me even more! And to make matters worse, his girlfriend Felicia seemed to have a crush on me. So, he made it his mission to embarrass and humiliate me every chance he got. And with 7th grade also came showers after P.E. Not such a good idea for a young gay boy who is beginning to notice how bodies change with puberty. I did get caught a couple of times looking a little too long in the locker room, which made the teasing worse.

So, as I explained before, I had to find different ways to walk home to avoid Craig after school. But something interesting happened that school year. One day, I had taken a long route home only to find Craig sitting on my steps when I got there. Extremely scared, I started to walk fast in the other direction. He said to me "I'm not gonna bother you" and then I sat down beside him and we had a conversation about if I liked boys. After "him-hawing" around the subject, I finally confessed that I did like boys. And to my surprise, he didn't beat me up. He actually leaned over and kissed me. This was my first kiss and it came from the school bully. The boy who everyone thought would be a future football star that all the girls thought was dreamy was the first boy I kissed.

It was in that moment that I realized that the voice in head that told me that "it wasn't always gonna be like this" was right. Oh sure....I still had some bad bullying days ahead of me. Craig did act like he was gonna beat up in front of the other guys around school, but I knew that one day I was gonna be in control of my own destiny. I would have the last say when it came to me.

I just wish that I could have told that to Jamey and all the others who took their lives because they couldn't see past the forest of teen-hood. And now the media is talking about anti-bullying laws (which is great), but how do we get to that teen out there who can't see past today, that teen who only dreams of going to school for one day without any trouble or name-calling.

I read some comments about Lady GaGa when she performed a special song at her show for Jamey. Some were saying "how dare she try to capitalize on his death". Others defended her and praised her for speaking out. I have been torn on her career since she started. I think she is a very talented individual. Without the gimmicks and costumes, I actually hear an artist in there. But in this media-crazed world we live in, you have to do something to be seen and heard. I believe she has the ability to be one of those icons who could change the world, but the imagery may get in the way. But I do believe she could be for bullying what Elizabeth Taylor was for the AIDS epidemic: a face and voice for awareness and activism.

The ironic thing is that Jamey actually had made an "It Gets Better" video just a few months before his suicide. He spoke of being inspired by Lady GaGa. I wonder what happened between then and the day he took his life. He seemed optimistic and as though he was dealing with the situation. But as his parents said, he put on a brave face for everyone else.

I am begging everyone to pay closer attention to your friends especially if they are being bullied. This isn't about sexuality. It's about making sure that the human spirit isn't broken so badly that someone would want to end their life. "Support Our Youth"!

S6E18 Frontierland - Dean and Sam send themselves back in time AND it’s a cowboy episode. VERY star trek

S13E16 Scoobynatural - IT COUNTS I THINK. Semi-related, S8E8 Hunteri Heroici involves a guy who make cartoons come to life with his mind. It’s a very fun and very pretty episode and Cas and Dean r gay, well worth watching <3

S4E17 It’s A Terrible Life - Zachariah traps Sam and Dean in alternate reality where Dean is a (heavily implied out queer) businessman of some sort and wears fruity suits. Sam is there I guess. One of its finest Gay Homophobia episodes and genuinely very fun to watch.

S11E14 The Vessel - Dean wears a fruity little sailor outfit and Casifer (Lucifer who is possessing Castiel and the Winchesters don’t know yet - it’s a whole story arc) fists Sam’s soul just for funsies. The ONLY reason Casifer couldn’t get on that boat is because if Cas saw Dean’s fruity sailor outfit for more than a minute he would have lost his MIND and Lucifer woulda had to leave his vessel sharpish.

S8E11 LARP and the Real Girl - I think the title speaks for itself really, I think this counts! Charlie Bradbury (Felicia Day’s character) is in it and she’s cool and gay and Dean wears chainmail <3

S7E12 Time After Time I can’t remember that much about this ep but Dean does wear a very good 40s suit including a shoulder holster <3

I really want to tell you to watch the Belphegor episodes (S15E1-S15E3) but none of it would actually make sense I’m just obsessed with them bringing a messy gay bitch demon into Jack’s body literally top 10 Supernatural Gay Homophobia Moments in my onion.

S8E12 As Time Goes By - Sam and Dean’s grandfather jumps forward in time to find them, and introduces them to the history of the Men Of Letters, whose house they will steal in the next episode

S4E3 In The Beginning - This and the next episode are only ranked so low because I don’t care about Mary and John drama. HOWEVER. Zachariah sends Dean back in time to meet his mum before she married John and Zachariah very possibly fucked her. There are a LOT of memes about this now.

S5E13 The Song Remains The Same - Anna tries to stop Sam from being born. This entire concept is VERY funny to me. As is Sam and Dean showing up on the doorstep of their mum and dad, who do not have children yet, telling them their real names and saying ‘it’s a family name’ when John points out that Mary has relatives with the same name. Comedic genius I don’t care about the rest of the episode but from what I remember it’s pretty good.

S14E13 Lebanon - this episode is bad because it tries to redemption arc John BUT. it gave us  [spoilers] 1) lesbian steve jobs ted talk sam 2) Dean trying to placate alt-Cas who never got to know him by doing the ‘Cas....’ and gentle touch thing and alt-Cas just going ham and obliterating his ass 3) Dean choosing to go back to their world (with Cas <3) over staying in this universe with his Dad because he’s not worth it <3

Everything You Need To Know About Zombies, And 5 Sightings Of The Real-life Walking Dead We STILL Can’t Explain

At this point, I’m not sure anything would surprise me.

In fact, a zombie apocalypse would actually make sense at this point. But even if the grand finale of 2020 was the dead rising from their graves, it wouldn’t actually be the first time.

According to those that practice Haitian Voodoo, zombies exist. And according to scientists, zombies exist.

But the thing is, Hollywood has gotten our favourite flesh-eating, apocalypse-heralding monsters wrong. The folklore behind these monsters is actually rather different than men and women foaming at the mouth as they mummy-walk towards you.

The reanimated corpse didn’t take its first steps with the debut cinema screening of Night Of The Living Dead (1968).

It started with slaves.

Today we are going to cover everything you need to know about zombies from forgotten folklore of years gone by, to the rumours of the living dead among us in preparation from the incoming apocalypse...

What Are Zombies?

It’s pretty simple: a zombie is someone who was dead and is now not-so-dead. According to an official definition they are corpses which have been brought back from the grave to haunt the living.

Yep - they’re just like ghosts. But instead of wafting gently they have to lump around this great hulking cadaver which is in the midst of decay.

Zombies can be traced back to Haitian Voodoo which claims that a dead body can be reanimated by magical rituals. This supernatural take on the walking dead, however, is at odds with more modern fictional beliefs which centre on science.

Parasites, diseases, and viruses (*looks into camera*) feature as the main causes of zombies taking over the world in Hollywood’s take on the beast. This new zombie first pulled itself out of the ground in 1968 with Night Of The Living Dead, but the term ‘zombies’ was only applied by fans after the release of the cult classic. They were originally known as ‘ghouls’ in the film, confirming the premise that zombies exist to haunt the living.

Following this on-screen debut, the horror genre was overrun by zombie films with Dawn Of The Dead and Thriller going down in history as some of the most iconic movies of all time. The genre waned towards the 90s, however, and was due a resurgence just before the millennium thanks to predominately East Asian video games.

28 Days Later and Shaun Of The Dead resurrected the genre at the turn of the century and shaped what zombies are now known most for: the zombie apocalypse.

The terrifying claims of a civilised world being brought to its knees by walking corpses is now a pop culture staple, but more recently its been given a makeover and shopping montage as a part of its rom-com redo. Warm Bodies and iZombie are a novel take on the horror must-have and incorporate a human-zombie relationship that is an emblem for the sexual liberation of the era.

The severed relationship between supernatural zombies and the sci-fi alternative doesn’t just take place on Netflix. There is evidence that both could exist.

Zombies In Haitian Voodoo

In 1819, poet Robert Southey was the first to use the term ‘zombie’ in his history of Brazil. This heralded the emergence of zombies in Haitian Voodoo which chimed with a concept even more terrifying than the prospect of a zombie apocalypse:

Slavery.

According to Haitian Voodoo, bokors - or witches - would use necromancy to revive a dead person. This zombie would then be under their control as a personal slave and would have no personal will.

Bokors were also known to capture ‘zombie astrals’ - part of the human soul - in a bottle which would provide the owner with extra luck or healing properties, for example.

These beliefs were rooted in Voodoo traditions brought to Haiti by enslaved Africans: they believed Baron Samedi would take them to an African heaven after they died. Those that offended the Ioa (a Voodoo god) would be a slave forever - AKA a zombie. This fear of eternal slavery was reinforced by slave drivers who were often also voodoo priests; to prevent slave suicides, they would threaten zombification.

It was this widespread belief in zombies as slaves that would spread beyond Haiti’s borders during the US’ occupation of the country in the early 20th century. A number of case studies reporting zombies came to the US’ attention, such as in the William Seabrook’s The Magic Island (1929): he cited an article in Haiti’s criminal code which recognised zombies’ existence, (it essentially said even if you murder someone and you make them come back as a zombie, it is still murder).

It was shortly after US forces entered Haiti that one of the most famous cases of an alleged zombie emerged. We will get to Felicia Felix-Mentor’s story later in this article.

Zombies In Science

Zombies are deeply rooted in some of humanity’s darkest chapters in history - but they also have a place in our natural history, too.

Technically, zombies do exist. Sure, if you made the claim for human zombification via Voodoo priest scientists would counter with claims that these ‘zombies’ are schizophrenic, in a catatonic state, or are suffering from a mental illness that mirrors how we believe they would act. But if you made a similar claim for other animals - namely insects - they’d believe you.

In fact, there are numerous known cases of such instances.

Whilst there are no known insects that practice Haitian Voodoo, these cases follow the basic plotline of zombie cult classics - parasites infect them and alter their behaviour or use them to their advantage. The parasites effectively make slaves out of those they target, mirroring what we saw in Haiti.

Take zombie carpenter ants, for example:

A fungus enters their bloodstream, hijacks their mind and grows around their muscles. Within one short week the ant is compelled to leave its colony and seek higher ground which has the right temperature and humidity for the fungus to grow in. It then forces the ant to bite down into a leaf, grows a stalk through the ant's head, and cuts off the ant’s muscle control.

The ant’s corpse still moves its legs vigorously as the bulbous capsule of fungi spores grows through what’s left of its body to infect the ant colony below.

There are many more examples just like this with most parasites having their own unique - and uncomfortably brutal - method of killing off wildlife.

Scientists are unable to refute claims that a parasite might mutate and have a similar effect on humans one day, reducing us all to the zombie hordes seen in the movies.

We just have to wait and see. 

Cases Of Actual, Real-life, Not-so-living-n-breathing Zombies

Although scientists don’t support claims that Haitian voodoo can in fact raise the dead and create personal slaves, various sightings and reports suggest that human zombies do exist.

Question is - do you believe them?

#1 - Felicia Felix-Mentor

In 1936, the owner of a farm in a small village in Haiti woke up to quite a shock.

A naked woman staggered towards them with her raspy voice mumbling and slurring that this farm belonged to her farmer. But the most terrifying thing about this strange woman that stumbled her way through the village was that she looked rather familiar.

In fact, they were pretty sure that this was a woman who had died and had been buried many years before.

19 years before.

Zora Neale Hurston - an anthropologist - investigated this alleged case of zombification and met Felicia Felix-Mentor at a hospital. The doctors were convinced she was a zombie and her husband confirmed this was his wife.

Even Hurston admitted that she believed what they were telling her:

“I know that I saw the broken remnant, relic, or refuse of Felicia Felix-Mentor in a hospital yard.”

#2 - Clairvius Narcisse

30 odd years after Felix-Mentor first wandered up to her father’s old farm, a 40 year old man admitted himself into hospital in Deschapelles, Haiti. Doctors, however, were unable to work out why he had a fever, was clearly fatigued, and was spitting up blood. He died 3 days later.

20 years after he died, a man claiming to be Narcisse approached Angelina Narcisse, his sister.

He told her and other villagers private, personal information in an attempt to convince them that he was in fact Clairvius and had been turned into a zombie for use on a sugar plantation. He had been paralysed for the duration of his burial and then dug up to be put to work as a slave.

He described in detail the process of his alleged zombification, claiming she was given a paste made from hallucinogenic chemicals which scientists would later use to refute most claims of zombies as simply a drugged state. When the bokor died and he was no longer fed the concoction, he regained his sanity and thus his free will, and returned to his family.

Much like Felix-Mentor’s story, Narcisse is actually widely believed to have been a zombie. His death was documented by 2 American doctors unlikely to follow Haitian Voodoo folklore, and even the man who investigated his claims - Lamarque Douyon - believed to some extent zombies could be real despite dismissing supernatural claims.

He brought a sample of the powders or paste used by the bokor back to the US to investigate whether ‘zombies’ were actually people who were drugged and then revived.

#3 - Woman from Port-au-Prince

Only known as FI to The Lancet, the journal investigating cases in southern Haiti in the late 90s, she was discovered 3 years after her death wandering near the village she once called home by a friend.

FI was mute and unable to feed herself but she was still recognised by her family, her fellow villagers, and the local priest by a distinct facial mark and other features.

The local courts opened her tomb to investigate the fact that she had apparently risen from the dead and found it full of stones. Her husband was accused of zombifying her after he caught her having an affair.

Despite local claims of supernatural goings-on, she was later admitted to a psychiatric hospital in Port-au-Prince.

#4 - Son of a secret policeman

WD (mentioned in the same study by The Lancet) was 18 years old when he became ill. He developed a fever, his body swelled up, and his eyes went yellow. They thought he was dying or at least already dead.

His father asked his brother to get advice from a bokor but WD died 3 days later. 19 months after he was buried, he reappeared at a cock fight and recognised his father before accusing his uncle of zombifying him.

#5 - Unknown young woman

MM (also mentioned in the same study by The Lancet) was joining her friends in prayer for a local who had been zombified when she fell under a similar affliction. The 18 year old became ill with diarrhoea and fever, her body swelled, and she died.

Her family immediately suspected a sorcerer had had their way with their daughter.

13 years later and MM reappeared at the town markets, claiming not only had she been a zombie in a village 100 miles away, she had had a child with another zombie.

When her bokor died, his son released MM from their control and she travelled home.

o shit, I missed this one last night! Well, it’ll be a good thing to do with my morning tea... and dang, anon, you came with the guillotine-asks:

8)     If you could remove one season of supernatural, which one would it be and why? 

Is it too easy to say s15? I love the ending, and I don’t even... mind, really, the super meta ‘break out of the story’ plot, because it’s a very self-aware way to end a repetitive g.d. show that’s been on for 15 g.d. years. But everything about the execution was embarrassing and bad, on almost every level. Writing, editing, directing, even acting at points. (It’s rough when you can tell how uninvested the series leads are in the literal end of their series. Thank god for the return to form in the finale.)

But since that is too easy, and honestly the season would’ve been fine if anyone involved seemed invested or willing to try: s14 is the one to lose. Honestly, like. What even happened. What a treadmill. Michael!Dean was an abortion of a storyline, and the whole Nick thing was just... sad and badly done, and the ability to actually carry through a plot arc seemed to be missing entirely. And then what did it do, really, for the story? It was just another treadmill with no real future ramifications other than Chuck showing up to say ‘neener neener, here’s what s15 will [allegedly] be about.’ You could do that anytime, and then we wouldn’t have to sit there and pretend that Peaky Blinders outfit was a good idea. So, yeah. Bye, s14. Wish you’d never existed.

29)   You can cut one character at any point of the show. Who would it be AND what would happen as a result? 

OBVIOUSLY I WOULD CUT OUT THE RETURN OF MARY. Like, christ, what an embarrassingly sloppy storyline that was! To be clear: I don’t mind the aspect where it turns out she was a kinda shitty mom---as someone who’s very definitely childfree myself, I’m all for complicated depictions of moms and children---but a) Samantha Smith can’t really act, like... it’s bad, seriously, good lord, and b) like... what was that even for? What was served, by that? I’m a firm believer that we don’t need to tear open and exhaust every single part of a character’s past---like, I’m in the camp that doesn’t want a Black Widow movie, because she’s more interesting with mystery---so to have this iconic pillar of the show’s mythology get destroyed just so, I guess, Dean can go “I forgive you” in this bizarre scene that wasn’t actually supported at all by what preceded it? ...Yeah, no thanks.

So, what would happen, if Amara had just said “hey Dean, thanks for reuniting me with my brother, as thanks I will manifest for you that rare Impala carburetor part you haven’t been able to source on eBay, no why would I do something with your mother, that would be dumb”? First of all, Sam and Dean wouldn’t have known what they were missing (plus the carb would run better). Second... not much would change, honestly. The more-interesting part of s12 was the BMoL story (even if that, too, was done badly), and we don’t really need Mary involved in that. Sub her part with Castiel/Jody/whatever and it works just the same, if you even want to have a ‘good guy’ involved with them before the split. She wasn’t useful for the Lucifer-Jack-Kelly plot, so no loss there. At the end, when Jack’s born, I guess someone has to shove Lucifer into the floaty vagina portal, but... anyone could do that, again, and then we wouldn’t get that cringey mom-power scene. I am actually invested in the very obviously accidental character work that was revealed by how bad the Mary storyline is, i.e. that it’s very easy to read it as Sam and Dean realizing that they don’t actually like or need her, but they’re kinda trying (but not that hard)---but that’s a subtextual reading that you get from the performance and editing and not from actual authorial intent, and so I’d lose it for a storyline that actually... worked.

So, from then on, ramifications: Jack doesn’t obsess over getting their mother back, so we get to ignore the AU. I guess you could still have the AU plot where Michael comes over (in theory Kevin can still open a portal?), but the whole AU storyline was so shittily done that, really, what would we be missing if it didn’t happen. Either way: Mary doesn’t actually serve any plot functions at all that couldn’t be either ignored or accomplished by a more interesting character, and with her gone we don’t have to watch her awkward acting or the wobbly confusion of her alleged character arc, so... bye, Felicia. 

--- All of which is to say, with both answers: the enduring problem of the Dabb era is that the man cannot follow through on a coherent plot arc to save his life. I think it’s something to do with him being a comics guy---if something doesn’t work, whatever! Just reboot and ignore it and it’s a new story. But television doesn’t (shouldn’t) work that way, and Supernatural really wasn’t supposed to work that way. It’s not wonder Jared and Jensen looked at each other and went ‘jesus christ, this isn’t working.’ It really wasn’t. Again, thank god for 15.20 (and, awfully, all the COVID restrictions that made it the episode it should’ve been, instead of the pure nauseating debacle that they planned). ((Seriously, have you seen the plans and rumors about how it was ‘supposed’ to go? I’ve never had such a strong sense of Matrix-esque bullets dodged. Kansas?? Happy weepy John meeting them in heaven??? WHAT THE FUCK, DABB, WHAT THE FUCK--))

YES okay yes I have lots of thoughts. One of my favorite things is when a new Taylor Swift album comes out and I get to decide which songs are what Spider-Man ships. I did a twitter thread about this when the album first came out, which has my initial reactions, but I’ve had time to sit with it now, so let’s dive back in:

the 1: first reading is this is a Peter/Felicia post-breakup. But we were something, don't you think so?/Roaring twenties, tossing pennies in the pool/And if my wishes came true/It would've been you.

exile: look, this is a love triangle tragic breakup song, and Spider-Man is the king of both of these things. I’m going to make a call and say that exile, while I think it’s both an excellent PeterFelicia and PeterMJ, leans towards PeterMJ after MJ rejects his first proposal, when they’re seeing other people but everyone keeps trying to get them back together. I can see you starin', honey/Like he's just your understudy/Like you'd get your knuckles bloody for me/Second, third, and hundredth chances/Balancin' on breaking branches/Those eyes add insult to injury.

The dueling narration of 'Cause you never gave a warning sign (I gave so many signs) and I never learned to read your mind (Never learned to read my mind) is a pretty perfect early PeterMJ summary.

seven: this song CRIES OUT for childhood friends, which Spider-Man is a bit lacking in, what with the entire friend group coming together in college, but in my head it belongs to a version of canon where Gwen and Mary Jane were friends as children and lost touch with each other. alternatively, it’s the Peter/Flash childhood friends song, since they’re as close as we get to childhood friends in canon, and also because these lyrics in conjunction with that make me want to cry: And I've been meaning to tell you/I think your house is haunted/Your dad is always mad and that must be why/And I think you should come live with/Me and we can be pirates/Then you won't have to cry.

Also, “just like a folk song, our love will be passed on” makes me cry thinking about longform storytelling like superhero comics so like that’s fun. A real Spidey fivesome sort of feeling.

august: I’ve been thinking about it, and I think this is a Peter/Betty set during their initial romantic relationship. Your back/Beneath the sun/Wishing I could write my name on it/Will you call when you're back at school?/I remember thinking I had you.

this is me trying: A FLASH THOMPSON SONG. Like, I think “I didn’t know if you’d care if I came back/I have a lot of regrets about that” is a big PeterMJ sentiment during several key points of their relationship, but overall the vibe of this song is a Flash. Probably a Peter/Flash, while we’re at it. 

illicit affairs: okay, in my heart, I want this to be another Peter/Betty, because the point in canon where they’re sleeping together behind Ned’s back is just so sexy of them, and it’s a favorite fictional extramarital affair. However, I also don’t feel like this song is straight enough as its core to be about them. I also feel like “and you want to scream don’t call me kid, don’t call me baby” is a BIG Gwen Stacy mood. So I’m kind of leaning towards an MJ/Gwen affair while PeterGwen is happening. Which would also be very fun of them all. I think at a push we could also make this a Peter/Flash while Flash is seeing Sha Shan, if we wanted to warp canon around to have a good time. What I’m saying is Spider-Man should have a few more affairs in its body of canon. For the song.

mad woman: I mentioned this up with my tears ricochet but we’re going to say AGAIN for the people in the BACK: this is a Gwen Stacy jam. If they were ever to make an extremely good movie about resurrected Gwen on a murderous revenge spree, this song should be playing in it. What do you sing on your drive home?/Do you see my face in the neighbor's lawn?/Does she smile?/Or does she mouth "fuck you forever"?

(Spider-Island: Deadly Foes) Also, not that the Gwen clones get like, full narratives or are allowed to be their own individual characters like the Peter clones (it’s the misogyny) but if they were, mad woman would be such a good Gwen clone song. No one likes a mad woman/You made her like that.

epiphany: this is very rare for me in Taylor Swift’s discography, but I think this is really a Peter solo song.

betty: You have no idea how badly I wanted this to be a Peter/Betty, but it is just not. I think there’s a version of Spider-Man high school canon though where this is a Betty/Liz. 

peace: This album is light on Taylor Swift Spideytorch hits -- previous examples including Love Story and Call It What You Want To, among many others -- but peace is such a Spideytorch. But I'm a fire and I'll keep your brittle heart warm/If your cascade ocean wave blues come/All these people think love's for show/But I would die for you in secret/The devil's in the details/But you got a friend in me/Would it be enough/If I could never give you peace?

(ASM #790) @bipeteparker said that Johnny COULD give Peter peace but they’re dramatic, so it works, and I stand by that, but I also like it with the juxtaposition of their lives -- Johnny being so famous and such a public figure and Peter having eschewed that life by keeping the mask on. 

hoax: and we’re closing the album the same way we started! I think there are various Spider-Man readings you could do, but my big two are PeterFelicia and PeterMJ -- both with the lens of the post-One More Day deal and how that altered both of their relationships with him.
