there was no way inosuke could have survived from those devastating waters.

“you look kinda scary,” the same green eyes, but he could see the wildness within the younger demon — nothing like that woman’s domesticated gaze, “but you must be looking for paradise, if you’ve come all the way to my temple, yeah?”

the moment notice had come from driftmark that a ship would be waiting for her, with rhaena velaryon on it, minty had not hesitated to shove her feet into her boots, and get herself down to the docks as fast as her feet could carry her. it was an excuse to leave the city behind her for the day, but more than that, it was an excuse to be back out on the sea, one of the few places her restless heart felt at ease. all of the children of house estermont had practically learned to walk on the deck of a ship, and though her father was gone, and her brothers and elder sister and mother were far away, it was still a balm to her heart to be out here with rhaena now, one of the few crownlanders that she could truly call a friend.

she was leaning too far over the edge, keeping herself upright with nothing more than one hand curved almost carelessly around a rope, but almost in perfect balance. she had often been described as a tempest, an unmissable ball of energy, but minthara was never clumsy. her balance was perfect as she gazed down at the waters, indigo eyes scanning the rolling waves for signs of movement as the sea breeze tugged at her braids, the ornamentation that hung from them jangling lightly as they blew about her face.

"i don't see any dolphins," she pointed out, exaggerated sigh leaving her lips. "you sure your sailors got it right? it wasn't some freakishly large haddock or something?" she glanced over her shoulder at rhaena, the glow of the afternoon sun casting warmth into her features. "i swear, rhaena, if a pod of dolphins doesn't jump out the water doing backflips, waving their little flippers and winking at me, i'm going to go home so disappointed tonight."

she grinned then, her gaze returning back to the sea. her grip on the rope tightened, and she hauled herself up a little, touching the ship only by the barest brush of her tiptoes now. "maybe it's you," she said, though she was teasing. "heard you were coming out to find them, and it scared them away. all that velaryon blood, rhaena. lords of the tides, and all that. they think you're here to evict them from their home."

her free hand came up to cup her brow, shielding her face from the unforgiving sun. "come on, just one little peek," she was practically begging the waters themselves now - but apparently, something was listening to her. it was just a fin as first, cresting on the waves, before being joined by another, and another. minty let herself drop upon the deck with a thud, and she was pointing at the pod, practiclly beaming with excitement as she grabbed rhaena's wrist in an enthusiastic squeeze.

for all intents and purposes, lawrence gordon is exactly that to her : a ghost. a figure from her past, lingering inside her old memories like cobwebs in abandoned rooms. a familiar presence, one that she had thought she known well ; a haunting presence, a cruel reminder that one cannot truly know everything there is to know about someone's true nature.

still, by now, she is familiar with what he does these days.

the whispers about him do not fall upon deaf ears — angela keeps tabs on all of her former colleagues, regardless of their affiliation. perhaps it's a small victory, no matter how morbid it may seem, that lawrence had not abandoned his former team for talon, but rather for his own purposes.

she has lost too many people at this point — no matter how much she disapproves, there is the pull of familiarity tugging at her. a string connecting her to him, whether she likes it or not.

time to time, luciel spares a little portion of his day to reading, even if it’s just one chapter these days from his trainee life. it’s a little unfortunate he’s spending lesser time on reading, and his busy schedule makes him realise how quickly time passes when he’s sucked into reading. so he has to set up an alarm to remind him that he needs to continue with the rest of his schedule.

a while ago, luciel would dedicate more time to reading on sundays, but with the debut project, he’s been doing that even lesser. though, this time on the way to the company building, he drops by the bookstore. it’s not a huge one, nor does he goes here often, but the those slightly musty whiffs of books is enough for him.

he prefers the literature section, but unfortunately the section here is pretty small, he’s gone through most of the titles here already. luciel ends up picking a title he’s read before, skimming through the pages, slowly remembering what’s the book about. he gets sucked into the world for a while, almost does not realise there was another girl looking around too. thinking the girl wanted the book, he closes it, extends it to her, “did you wanted this?”

it doesn’t slips past yeseul that her friends has a tendency to act like an older sibling of sorts, she understands why and honestly, she’s tries to be… less chaotic, whatever that means. it works for five minutes, and then she’s back to being a hot mess again.

she gets distracted by a cd shop on her way to meetup with yuji. it’s not something she can help, really! it’s rare to find cd shops these days… since everything is digital nowadays. she promises herself she’ll spend five minutes in there, but then she soon realises it’s been about fifteen minutes since she entered the shop. yeseul widens her eyes in shock and quickly texts yuji.

In the Samadhi Fire ritual flashbacks and the brief vision of Macaque and Monkey King's final fight, SWK lacks the circlet. Do you think this is an intentional plot element, memory being fallible, or a straight-up animation error?

The 3x04 flashback of SWK and Macaque's fight lacking a circlet could easily be fallible memory or bias, but either way it's definitely intentional. The 3x10 Samadhi Fire flashback on the other hand is an unbiased account of what sealing the fire had looked like, so without a doubt we can trust everything we see there!

Honestly, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if there were in fact 2 SWK V Macaque fights: one during jttw where Tang Sanzang encouraged Wukong to spare Macaque (Like the great monk had done with LBD—that or Wukong is just straight up unwilling to finish Macaque off), and another fight post-jttw where it's Wukong alone without the influence of the pilgrims. But that's just me throwing stuff out there.

It was going to be a LONG NIGHT. She could (and probably should) go home, but dr. Zayne was still in his office. Nunnally didn’t feel confident to leave before her superior did (and her father would definitely disapprove if he’d learn she did). She had tried to work on the journal manuscript, but she was too tired to focus. She poured herself another cup of coffee, and drank it quickly. It was warm and strong. The way she liked.

("You should be careful with coffee, Nunnally. You're drinking too much recently"); she scolded herself pouring yet another cup. Nunnally hesitated what to do next. The hospital was quiet and seemingly nothing was going on. She had checked on that patient, who had just undergone surgery (she was sure they were the reason why dr. Zayne was staying at night; in case something happened), checked on the other patients who were assigned to her during the day shift, but everything seemed to be under control. She wasn't needed.

Nunnally checked her phone in case her father called (she hoped he would, but as expected he did not); she looked over the magazine someone left on a table, but it didnt seem productive.

She took a sip of her coffee, and then stood up, took another cup and poured some more coffee into it. She finished hers and – holding that other cup in her hand – she walked towards dr. Zayne office. Her heels clicking on the floor. Indeed, in the silence of the hospital corridor, they might have announced her before she arrived. The door was left afar, and she could see her superior inside. She knocked gently before speaking: --

“Dr. Zayne…I hope I am not interrupting…” – she most likely was – “I thought that you might want a drink.” – she said reaching her hand with a cup towards him – “It’s coffee. Freshly brewed.” – if anything Nunnally knew how to brew good coffee – “I have just checked on my patients. But all seems normal.” – she should probably just leave and stop wasting his time, but if he would give her something to do she would be able to force herself to accomplish the task.

The warmth of Sumeru was a nice change of pace from Mondstadt, especially when Signe had rarely been outside of the city-state's borders before. Traveling with Kaeya was a rarity in itself -- always spotting him when he visited the library or occasionally when she was dragged out to the tavern, but hardly outside of chance moments.

Not that Signe minded, of course. Ever the diligent apprentice, it was often Lisa who had to push her away from her studies, encouraging her to enjoy her time outside of just work. But here, distracted by the bustling pace and vivid colors of Port Ormos, Signe seemed like a different person entirely. They'd only just arrived, and she'd already seemingly forgotten about their Favonius busywork, too distracted by her own curiosities to pay it any mind.

If it weren't for Kaeya, she might've wandered off entirely, asking prodding questions to whoever might listen about the suspected Khaenriah'n ruins in the desert. But at the clearing of the Captain's throat, Signe quickly returned to his side, acting as though she'd never left. Was it that obvious that she wasn't well-traveled?

"Ahem. That's right. Before we left, Lisa did want me to mention she had a contact through the Akademiya that might help with our business deal. It's just a matter of finding him..."

the only thing yiran likes about halloween is dressing up, really. there’s some decorations that he finds is adorable, but otherwise, he gets spooked easily. it’s not something people realises since his facial expressions usually stiffens up and he ends up looking like he’s mad, but yiran gets scared easily. he’d always avoid halloween theme parks, haunted houses and the like; anything that is meant to scare. halloween markets, is good enough for him.

he does like to see the costumes people wears for halloween, it’s a little comforting for him. he doesn’t gets the weird looks when he’s in cosplay like the usual. everyone’s weird together. “as i thought, you’re looking really good…” yiran mumbles to jae, complimenting his faerie outfit. he takes out a small goodie bag of candies, giving it to the boy. his bag has been a little heavy from those goodie bags that he made, where he carefully selected the candies himself. “this is for you. it’s just some candies and chocolate… but you’re a… f-friend, so take it.” a friend that he can share his silly hobbies with.
