This was her first ever group raid, in fact it was all the girls first ever group raid—and it showed. Everything was completely disorganized, there were only a few moments in the night that it appeared that the group of young teen girls had some sort of system. Emma kept more to herself, focusing more on what she individually could get rather than the entire group. Time and time again she was warning them what cases they should avoid break into as it would trigger an alarm…but it did not take long for the ear piercing alarm to go off. Everyone began to scramble, some completely abandoning all the things they managed to get out of cases—but not Emma. She was determined to get as much as possible, so if it meant trailing behind to grab the abandoned items so be it.

Like a kid out on Halloween, she stuffed her pillowcase but not with candy, instead with hundreds of thousands dollars worth of jewelry. She could see the light at the end of the tunnel, for herself. All the things she would get out of this. There had been hints that if she had returned to the girls home with enough things, she may actually get a photo of her parents. That seemed well worth the risk.

The teen rushed rushed to get whatever else she could, even if it meant going through cases where glass was shattered and covered the luxury items. A few cuts from glass seemed only to be a minor inconvenience to her. Just as she was about to leave, with her pillow case full of an assortment of jewelry—there at the entrance stood another. Without hesitation, Emma took a mannequin head and threw it at the stranger.

Science Museum Group changed offensive object tittle after getting my letter

here's the story about it:

Wonderful @solariium commissioned me wonderful victorian-era wheelchair user character to draw. Refs were provided, and one of the links was an object in online museum gallery - vintage wheelchair.

solariium, who is wheelchair user theirself, mentioned that tittle of the object is incorrect but it was good picture for the ref. i wondered "what's with the tittle?" looked in the link and saw

so i decided to make a special move

As human who made bunch of projects, i can say that keeping museum gallery is tone of work.

And tittle change - no, it's not just changing few letters.

Changing tittle of object in museum is similar to changing name of game file. Catalogs changes, maybe they have irl gallery, so new card, they probably have some code objects system related to tittles, and scientists, students, make reference to this object in their researches and articles and etc etc.

So, yeah, it * is * a lot of work. Also, they changed description, it now says that this object was "historically referred to as ‘invalid chair’". And i think it's good, because it is not erasing fact of people used this word, and it's addition to the progress context - we literally see now old term clarified as past, and new one, now, in the tittle.

(and yes, web link. i just saw that i* word still there. yeah, not perfect but still, considering things i said above - big work done)

I used some conversation strategy in case "this is offensive can you fix" will not be enough — started on positive attitude giving compliment on their collection being big and interesting, gave them extra argument on why this should be fixed (more actual search key words on this now are "vintage wheelchair", not "i* chair"). Then we had a little letters chain, where they answered politely too, and in about few days i got detailed answer on this, and yep, changed tittle.

And i think this shows, that if someone did mistake and someone noticed it and giving feedback on it, if both sides are interested in progress and making good changes, no matter how hard it is, sides can make a change, working together and being kind. And i think we should be more brave about making such connections!

Understand more of what you read:

Connect ideas, linking related concepet so you understand all the sides/context/informations of an idea

Avoid isolation, store ideas in a way that relate them to others, creating a cohesive system

Easily search your knowledge, all your ideas/notes are in the same place, making it easier to search within them and revisit them

Have an easier time writing:

As you read/watch/take notes of stuff, you see topics coming naturally forward, so you know what interest you to write

You have an easier time rearranging the topics to help you make a book or essay

You can reuse your notes as many time as you want, they're not contained within one only project

It's like you're making yourrself a personal assistant that only got better with time and enhances your thinking

Setup guide

Download and install Obsidian

Choose a name for you vault and a place (folder) for it:

A vault is the folder of all your notes, tags and other files

If you choose a Gdrive (or any other cloud storage) folder and have a syncing tool, you can haveacces to your vault on multiple device

Create folders to organize your vault:

Notes (where all your notes live, including brainstorming, to-do list to research or notes on source material)

Index (when a tags become too big to really navigate easely, you make an index files where you link your notes in a logical order, alike a book index)

Templates (for reusable templates)

Create some useful starter files:

Tags reference (a list of all the tags you use and their description)

To-do list (to track your progress on a subjecs or topics you're studying, you can add checklist and progress trackers)

Adjust settings for efficiency:

Default note location: go to Settings > Files and links > Default location for new notes > and set your main Notes folder

Appearance: cuztomise the way Obsidian look, go to Settings > Appearance > Play with the setting here if you want

Templates : enable the core Template plugin and set up the folder for templates under Settings > Templates

Hotkeys : assign custom hotkey for frequently used action, like inserting template (CTRL+T for example)

Tips for using Obsidian

Tags:

Keep them focuced: don't make them too vague or too specific

Think about reuse: if you won't use a tag again, don't create it

Personalize: keep them oriented around your interest and goal (it's YOUR system)

Notes:

Make them easy to read: use white space and formatting to keep notes organized and visully appealing for easier reading

Use Markdown: formating faster inside Obsidian (https://facedragons.com/personal-development/obsidian-markdown-cheatsheet/)

Prioritize connections: link notes to related ideas or topics as much as possible

Learning mindset:

Experiment: your system will evolve as you get comfortable with Obsidian

Start small: focus on capturing ideas and connecting them, advanced feature can come later

Moørkutlot (Monster)

(One of Kaimere's most unique and infamous monsters, the silent one was teased for a good few years before we finally got to see exactly what it was and what it evolved from! I have to say, while the titanosaurs and megaraptors and sloths of kaimere are the bread and butter of the setting, the moorkutlot is to my eyes one of its most iconic creatures. Here's a link to the youtube vid about it, if you're interested in alien monsters and/or spec evo, I'd reccomend a watch.

All that said, an animal is only as strong as its context, and while the moorkut is a predator so deadly it can scare an entire ecosystem into silence, I imagine it's kinda small beans in a world that has fire breathing magic lizards the size of a city block as an apex predator.)

Moorkutlot are nightmarish predators of icy forests on a faraway planet, distantly related to amphibians but evolved to a far more active, predatory role. Moorkutlot have a number of adaptations that make them terrifying hunters- their metabolism fluctuates between high- and low- energy periods, making them capable of going months without a meal, but capable of long-term chases and bursts of extreme speed and ferocity. They are social hunters, and in regions where they live a single moorkutlot hunting may lead to a half dozen or so ganging up on a target as the sound of a struggle attracts more. Most notoriously, however, is the non-newtonian fluid produced by modified mucus glands in their body; this is both a defensive tool, protecting them from powerful strikes, and an offensive one. Outside the body, the fluid sticks to skin and joints and makes escape a struggle, but inside the body it is truly dangerous; it rapidly clogs blood and joints, making movement nearly impossible and quickly leading to cardiac arrest. This fluid dissolves in salt, however, and this means that moorkutlot universally avoid oceans.

In their homeland, they are integrated into the ecology of their world as much as any other animal- they are dominant predators, yes, but life around them has learned to accommodate for their behavior and deadly weaponry. Not so for other planets- moorkutlot are occasionally used as terrible biological weapons, something that can be dropped on a planet and allowed to run wild, killing sentients and destroying the local ecosystem.

This horse-sized creature has a face that opens like a flower to reveal snapping jaws, and craggy gray skin covered in strange slime.

I wanted to have a series of posts where people can find all of my characters in one place! Since I have too many to fit them all into one post, I decided to split them up based on how much I use them/how developed they are, the same way they're split up on my Toyhouse.

I wanted to have their refs here so people can find them relatively easily and not have to go digging through their Toyhouse galleries to find them lol. So fun fact whenever I draw something, it takes me years to get around to posting it. :) /j

This is actually my art for week 2 of OC-tober over at the Gemini Valley server! The prompt was poison and/or demons. I settled more for the poison vibes here, and while this character isn't actually a demon, he kinda has a more horror/demon-like appearance to some, so he fit!

Another reason I wanted to make this art was because I realized I've had this character for around 10 years now, so the prompt became a good excuse to make a personal-anniversary piece for myself. I first made this character back in October of 2014; I was a sophomore in high school and I specifically remember just generating this black goop monster in my head as an antagonistic-sort of character. A lot has changed and developed regarding all of my characters over the past decade, but I still enjoy going back and seeing where my ideas really started popping up when I was still new to digital art and posting it to the internet. I wouldn't really be where I am creatively today without them. ^^

For more context on the art itself, this character is Ambroax! Also known as Project 1, he's the mysterious leader of the 32 projects. In the art he is consuming this strange oil-substance, which would be poisonous and very deadly if consumed by anything else. The creature is part (mostly) machine, and the oil usually acts as his fuel. Like all the other projects I've been redrawing and making refs for lately, he also received some slight design alterations that ended up being more reminiscent of his first design I made 10 years ago (not that I posted it online because it was hand-drawn by fifteen year old me and looks like hot garbage).

Fairy Queen/Queen Ripple(Waking up in Dreamland AU)

On DA this was the last of the gameverse refs I made for the time being & now it's the 3rd to last ref I have for now

Anyway yeah I made Queen Ripple a ref, I kind of wanted to draw her & it led to becoming a character ref. Speaking of I should probably redraw her ref one day.

I decided to for some reason draw a version of Queen Ripple when she was a kid/in a design that makes her look more like Ribbon. I don't exactly have a reason for this past using it as an excuse for her crown's design.

Also I looked her up & man a lot of people like to sneak in a pic of when she'd possessed in the bad end. Of course I have no room to argue since I did the same, I just thought I'd mention it cause past looking her up on the wiki I never looked up images of her nor fanart.

Someone made her look like Toko from Danganronpa in one pic.

For context the the crown I gave her is what her crown looks like in official art.(Funny at the time of drawing this I was really annoyed at trying to draw her crown which was the least annoying detailed thing compared to other characters like Meta Knight's armor)

The crown I gave her younger version is the crown her model in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.

For some reason I thought it'd be interesting to give her both crowns so Kirby 64 model is the crown she had when she was younger while the crown she has in artwork is the one she wears in present day.

I have no other excuses for this I'm sorry.

Summary:

Fairy Queen/Queen Ripple is the queen of Ripple Star, she's often called Ripple thanks to the planet. She is a little clumsy & nervous, though she is a good leader she is struggles with thinking of what to do in moments of panic.

Despite all this she is a lovely big sister/motherly figure to her subjects & is doing her best to make sure everything works out, though it's a little hard she tries to learn from her mistakes & fix/work on what she messed up. After the events of Kirby 64 she had been over working herself a little & struggling with nightmares, Ribbon & the other fairies of her planet eventually helped her recover along with accepting that she's not at fault for what happened & she shouldn't push herself so hard.

AS PROMISED I have migrated my Cyril works off of google docs into much more presentable ao3 fics so here they are once again in chronological order, each of them (so far at least) takes place before our campaign starts

Debut Oeuvre

Cyril is tired of being out of the loop when it comes to the teachings of vicissitude, his sire is being difficult but promises more information if Cyril completes just one vaguely defined task. 'Let's just get it over with' He thinks, not fully understanding the consequences of what 'it' might be.

Employment Opportunity

Tyson's prospects aren't looking good, he's getting on in life and he doesn't particularly have a great retirement fund, relationship with his children, general odour, et cetera. He counts himself lucky that his landlord is a real upstanding guy, willing to be flexible as Tyson tries not to end it. This is another of those moments, being given a small job that has a great payout for him. This would be a learning experience on how to negotiate better terms and really read the fine print before agreeing to anything.

Dubious Allies

The prince of New Hammington, Ohio, has just been diablerized, which is bad news for Cyril because he happened to be his entire support system. What's worse is that the new prince has managed to dig up dirt on him, and knows that he is both a Tzimisce and a former Sabbat member, things that the Camarilla doesn't typically enjoy. In his time of trouble, a vague missive is delivered to him, and he decides to follow its instructions, because really, what does he have to lose?

Feeding Time

Ruben lives a life of a typical shut-in, with the benefit that he at least has a job... Though not a glamorous one. His apartment is comfortable enough and he doesn't need all too much room, so he's happy to live there. The landlord seems to have a lot of strange rules in place, though, such as only being able to pay in cash... And his attitude is really very offputting. Tonight, he's about to find out why those rules have been put in place, and perhaps understand why his landlord is so standoffish with him.

i forgot to mention this in the tags but there are, technically, a whole bunch of timelines that GabiDen are involved in. there's a whole bunch of realities (that are all canon) so things can be a liiiiittle complicated when it comes to first dates. since on a technicality, they've had a bunch of first dates. So that made this. A little hard to answer !! But since I'm taking a break from art fight refs, I thought it'd be a good idea to tackle this question ^-^!

So, for context, this is a first date between Gabi and Denji in a scenario where they've already build a positive rapport between themselves via working at Public Safety, and nothing (too) bad has happened post Bomb Devil Arc (aka, Public Safety!Gabi and Denji in The Good Timeline 😋👍🏽)

👗 - What did they both wear?

Casual clothing! Neither Gabi nor Denji are the type to desire to get all dressed up for a date. Denji, because he isn't very acquainted with the idea; Gabi, because that's simply not something she wants to do all that often.

Denji shows up to the date with a simple shirt, jeans and jacket combo, similar to the one he wears in the Dating Denji Arc. Gabi wears a fitted turtleneck and jeans. I'd imagine she would have her hair done too, so she'd be in crochet braids too ^□^!!

��� - What were they each thinking during the date?

Denji was definitely pretty nervous!! He'd been on dates before (at least, he thinks those outings with Reze counted as dates... Even if they didn't, he could always fall back on his date with Makima as a reference), but this was different, because it was a date with Gabi. And he really likes Gabi. He liked Makima, and he liked Reze, but something about his feelings towards Gabi felt different in a noticeable way. So he definitely wanted it to go well.

But he was also focused on having a good time!! He wanted her to like him back, to want to go on another date with him, so he did try his very best to impress Gabi; even if he didn't need to do all of that since it was Gabi herself who had asked him. His mind was split between wanting to make sure he did good on the date and internally basking in how pretty she looked and how good she smelled and how nice her voice was and how soft her hands felt and —

Gabi was also very, very nervous. Similar thought process to Denji: She wanted to impress him, to make Denji want to go on another date with her after this one (even though, again, he was already locked in even BEFORE she asked him out). She is very concerned with how she comes across as and if she is getting a Good Grade in Dating, which is something every normal person strives for. Assuredly.

Part of Gabi, a consistent, nagging part of her, was continuously worrying over if she was during the right thing during the date. She wanted to make sure Denji was enjoying himself! At the same time, though, Gabi was also letting another part of her mind wander to how happy she felt around Denji. How glad she was that she gathered the courage to ask him out. She was also letting herself get overly flustered over how Denji's hand felt in her own, and the warmth she could feel from his body due to their close proximity.

Both of them were also wondering when would be the perfect time to kiss the other. That was, like, am overarching thought the two of them had. Because. Obviously.

🤝 - Did anything happen? (Hand holding, sharing food, etc… o///o)

Hand holding happened !!! Their date consisted of a simple stroll around the city, visiting various little shops and whatnot. And when there's a city, there's crossroads. Gabi thought it'd be cute (and defo a good idea) to hold Denji's hand as they crossed the street. She slipped her hand in Denji's, intertwining their fingers and holding him firmly. And they just... never let go after crossing the street. After that instance, whenever their hands would break apart for whatever reason, they'd always find their way back to the other's hand, locking fingers again.

There was also the instance of an indirect kiss. Not on purpose, and it was only realized after it had happened. During one of their stops, Denji had spotted a froyo shop, and suggested that they go in. By suggested I most definitely mean he dragged her inside, but she went willingly!!! And that's the most important part. They both got cups with those little plastic spoons. They both got different flavors, and when Denji expressed interest in tasting Gabi's, she fed him some using her spoon. Denji immediately realized that it was like an indirect kiss, his face growing warm in contrast to the cool treat he was being fed. Gabi is slow and only realized like, ten minutes later and promptly grew flustered over it.

(I guess that also counts as sharing food but ahhh..... smiles and shrugs)

Their trip around the city ended around evening, where Denji walked Gabi home (partially because it seemed like the right thing to do; partially because Denji just wanted to make sure she got home safely, even if he was fully aware she could take care of herself). It was around this time that they were starting to wind down; still enjoying themselves, but their nerves had settled, and they were just filled with a comfortable warmth and happiness. Even when they got to Gabi's door, the both of them still lingered, not really wanting the day to be over.

When conversation had died down, and they were just standing in silence, Gabi asked if she could kiss Denji. It was a whim on her end, really, but it was still effective in flustering Denji. Not enough to get him to refuse, though. It was the first time Denji had actually been asked to be kissed rather than just having it thrown on him, and like hell was he going to let this slip by. It definitely helped that when they did kiss, nothing happened. No surprise twist, no betrayal, no negative impact. It was just him, Gabi, their lips pressed together, and the strawberry taste of her lip gloss.

So ,,, eyeah!!! Gabi and Denji ended the date with a kiss; a completely consensual, completely normal, completely pleasant kiss that left the both of them with warm faces, quick beating hearts, and a mutual promise to do this again sometime.

Made a thing and decided maybe it's decent enough to post. Links to refs, the blank, and rambles under the cut.

Flora: Flos adonis. "Painful recollections" in flower language according to Catharine Harbeson Waterman's Flora's Lexicon (1840).

Fauna: Flying fish. I use these as symbols for Wotrens in general, but Tsuname in particular has a scene where he glides over the ocean and enjoys a moment of freedom, so I think he best exemplifies the whimsy that is the flying fish.

Object: Marble. In hindsight though I should have picked suncatcher, that would have been a lot more symbolic, especially considering I have an old picture of him trying to catch the last rays of the sun. Well, marble will do in a pinch I guess. My thinking was a silly pun involving losing his marbles, also it being a lone marble to imply "where did the others go?" Also chose a clear one as part of the symbolism too. I went through a number of objects for him before settling on marble. Originally I was going to do "window" but couldn't find a ref I liked for it. Then I thought of "tide pool" but that's more a place than an object. Then I thought maybe one of those epoxy resin arts, but there's something really artistic and delicate about those that felt a little bit off to represent Tsuname. But yeah. He's transparent but also shallow some ways. So that's why it has to be a marble or something not that deep. Shallow in the sense that you don't have to reach very far to see what's going on inside. That's why I was thinking glass at first. Window because you can easily peer inside and see what's going on. Tide pool for a similar reason. It's not that deep, you can scoop up some crustacean crawling around in there and look at it. Also sea-theming is very important for him.

You know what I just remembered... 'bracelet' is an object that has more significance in-story. I guess it less represents him though and more his devotion to Sh'zkai...

Song: The Name of Anger by Rurutia. I also could have picked Meltdown by Lollia, but decided they both exemplify Tsuname in different ways, so I didn't need to swap it out. For the one I chose though, it's chock full of symbolism that I think really fits Tsuname well. I think of it typically in the broader context of the invasion he experienced, so in some ways, Meltdown feels a bit more personal than The Name of Anger does for Tsuname. Meltdown I associate more with his ongoing mental battle, whereas The Name of Anger deals far more with the past and how it contextualizes the present. The opening line translates to something like "The ladder of light collapses." This 'ladder of light' I think of representative of hope, but also with like a tractor beam. The light is 'collapsing' which means the beam is disappearing, and with it, any hope of getting back those that were taken by it. "Innocent live sink to the mud." . . . "Overflowing from the ark are the tears of lost children." That last one I associate with the Gaediens who were taken. "My hands transform into swords; my ventless anger continues to spiral" Feels like a fast-forward to present day Tsuname, who has become a weapon against his will and his hands are now swords, and his pent up anger from the horrors he endured spills out everywhere. Lastly I love the picture painted by this line: "The jet-black sea winds whirlpools." There's not many good translations of the song online but you can find the original lyrics here: (x) I am for sure taking some creative liberties in my associations but XD that's the rub.

Feeling: Kuebiko. I abridged the definition quite a bit on the picture to get the text to play nice.

And yes, I did ref the Ocarina of Time scarecrow because it was simpler to draw than trying to figure out how to abstract a proper photo of a scarecrow. XD;

There's a lot of interesting gems in the etymology of kuebiko as well that fit Tsuname:

Kuebiko comes from kueru (崩える), an archaic verb meaning "to break down; to become shabby and disordered", plus hiko (彦), an old epithet for "boy, young man", in turn from hi ko (日子), literally "sun child".[1][2][3] The meaning could be translated as something like "shabby young man".

Yamada no sohodo is formed like an old-fashioned formal name, from surname or literal noun Yamada (山田, lit. 'mountain + paddy'), genitive or possessive particle no (の), and sohodo (案山子),[4] in turn from soho ("sopping wet") + -do, a contraction from -bito, the compounding form of hito (人).[5] The meaning of this name could be construed as "soaked person of the mountain paddies", a euphemism for "scarecrow".

As for the kami aspect of the etymology, at first I thought he had nothing to do with folk wisdom, knowledge and agriculture, but if you think on it, maybe a little. For one thing, when he returns to the island he has a lot of knowledge of how things work out in space that no one else has, so in one sense he is sort of this oddity. Folk wisdom could be turned on its head because his devotion to what he grew up believing is a big part of his character, but he lacked the proper nuance about the belief, so this "folk wisdom" doesn't exactly pan out when he doesn't understand how it applies to the real world (or doesn't). Agriculture was the one that I thought... no, not at all, but thinking on like... the connotations of agriculture, like "living on the land" -> "devotion to the land" -> "devotion to one's home and native land" could be something.

But anyways, the TDoOS definition definitely pulls more from the latter half of that opening sentence from the wiki:

"Kuebiko (久延毘古) is ... represented in Japanese mythology as a scarecrow who cannot walk but has comprehensive awareness."

Going back to the literal meaning, "shabby boy/sun child" really fits Tsuname well. Broken down, made shabby and disordered by his past. I often associate Tsuname with the sun in a lot of ways too. His original sunny disposition, overshadowed now by the horizon, making "sunset" another potent symbol for Tsuname's present psyche.

The second name for Kuebiko in Yamada no sohodo I also thought was kind of interesting, since being a fish boy he often does drag himself out of the ocean sopping wet, but also the connotation of sopping wet with "pathetic" feels of portent. XD

Hmm. Knowing what I know now it feels kinda weird to associate him with this word, but, I guess TDoOS is useful for describing feelings!

from one pro-endo to another, i absolutely agree that a ton of anti-endos really need to educate themselves more than just one biased google search. and since you're against people being biased in the info they choose to look at and accept as fact you'll be open to listening to me. so, as gently as i can possibly say this, i ask that you also do some research that's not just a biased google search

the caard that you linked does have a lot of good points! but it also has a lot of harmful misinformation.

for example, it tries using diagnostic manuals as 'proof' that DID/OSDD-1 aren't trauma disorders. bear with me on this! this isnt bs youd usually hear after a sentence like that! but i gotta address the misinfo before clarifying what i mean

diagnostic manuals are diagnostic manuals. they exist to help medical professionals diagnose patients. but its not a be all end all of whats True or False about disorders, especially not to people like you and me who aren't professionally practicing psychologists. its a tool to aid these professionals, but these professionals arent basing their entire understanding of the disorders on the manuals. if that was all there was to it, anyone could use it to diagnose anyone

now about did/osdd-1 being trauma disorders, its important to understand what they are. they are developmental disorders. in childhood there are things known as critical periods, where a child must reach a certain milestone by a certain time in order to be able to reach it. in did/osdd-1, something disrupted the child's ability to integrate their identity into one cohesive sense of self prior to the critical period. and, whatever that thing was, counts as trauma in the context of did/osdd-1

trauma is a word that has a ton of different definitions depending on what context its being spoken of. in medical contexts it has very specific definitions, and those definitions arent the same even across different disorders. what counts as trauma in PTSD isnt the same as what counts as trauma in DID/OSDD-1

for example, if say there was an autistic child who found moving to a new house so disruptive and stressful that they formed did/osdd-1, moving house would count as trauma in their case. because trauma in this context refers to whatever it was that caused the disruption in their development that lead to did/osdd-1 forming

do i believe that there's a problem with endogenic did/osdd-1 systems? no! well, it's a bit complicated, but ultimately no! there's a lot of different definitions for trauma, and an endogenic did/osdd-1 isn't using the kind im talking about here!

when i say its a bit complicated, i mean that i dont think endogenic did/osdd-1 systems are bad, as much as i think we could be a lot better as a community educating on what trauma means in context of did/osdd-1. i think itd really help bridge some communicative gaps and help create a more unified community. i also think itd help endogenic did/osdd-1 systems understand themselves a bit better! did/osdd-1 doesnt just form out of nowhere, something does cause it, and not having what youd personally consider 'trauma' doesnt mean that there wasnt something that caused it! i know personally that educating myself about all this helped me understand my system better, and stopped me falling into denial spirals of 'what if it wasnt really trauma'.

now that i've finished most of what i have to say, i have to address the elephant in the room: ive linked no sources. i want to bold and emphasise that, because i believe its important to take everything with a grain of salt when its just baseless like this. personal experiences dont need a source, but in depth convos about disorders like this do! and we all should be very mindful not to just believe anything without sources backing it up!

why didnt i include sources? because its 4:23am. its way too late for me to go gather all of them, especially when im not sure if youll be receptive to what i have to say. but! if you are! please let me know! i have done a lot of studying into research behind did/osdd-1 and i have sources in mind for everything ive written here. if youre open to all this, i can track them all down and make an edited version putting them where relevant!

second to last thing i have to add that i think is really important is that there's a ton of proof for did/osdd-1 being related to trauma (remember, the definition in context!). that was always the strongest evidence we had for did/osdd-1 existing, and brain scans have given further evidence! im going to link the resource i think is the absolute best to look at in terms of brain scans and our findings, but fair warning its quite long!

and the final thing i have to say is psychology isnt an exact science. it could be possible for someone to fit the diagnostic criteria for did/osdd-1 perfectly without anything at all causing it. but! that doesnt mean that it isnt a science and that there hasnt been a lot of research into it, or that we should just discount it altogether. i still believe its misinformation to say did/osdd-1 arent trauma disorders, because even with that chance of what happening and other definitions of trauma, it is making people really misinformed about what trauma even is in did/osdd-1

And we agree that there's a lot of nuance when it comes to dissociative disorders of any kind, let alone DID and OSDD. That's why a lot of discussions end up becoming essays! Ya can't easily summarize the spectrum of plurality, nor the medical diagnoses of such.

So, when trying to discuss it in-full, research can get mirky rather quickly. And we don't get things 100%, 100% of the time-- ofc not. We're huge advocates of self-education and, so, when we see responses like this that are constructive-- rather than destructive-- we really like to pay attention.

TL;DR-- make sure that you double-check your sources and take online conversations about plurality with a grain of salt. Misinformation's a-plenty. And, at the end of the day, we're all just trying to voice our opinions.

If you feel any of what we have to say about plurality strikes a chord, then educate yourself however best you can. And speak about if you'd like; *any* plural representation-- from the range of freshly questioning to the veterans-- is better than none imo.

But!

Make sure to supplement that by actually talking to people, and accepting feedback.
