{{ Unfortunately I have a piercing headache so forgive me if I'm not making sense I should probably close my eyes but--

Power scaling is... my personal worst nightmare. Which is bad. Because of the muse I am actively writing right now lmao As I've said before! Fight threads cause me intense anxiety if I don't know what the other person is expecting of me ( usually because we already write/talk a lot together )-- hell, sometimes even if I do ngl lol.

That is why I am personally begging you, to not come up to me, out of the blue, attempting to attack Gabriel. Do not do that. Sometimes I'm less anxious than others, but there is a good chance I will just ignore it because I don't know... where to go with the scene. And that's the key thing there-- I need to know where we're going with this! Listen-- I will GLADLY write this wet mop of a man be defeated, its part of his character that he can lose, but I do need a reason for him to lose. And I feel that's often overlooked-- that the person losing needs a reason to enjoy writing the loss as well. And sometimes you have to take into account that I might simply be tired of writing losses and want to do a win somedays. Its nothing personal.

This is only sometimes an issue, but due to famously being beaten by V1, I do feel sometimes his character can be flanderized into being someone that's easily beaten-- not often in RP itself, but in the fandom-- but of course, in canon Gabriel was so untouchable he's never seen his own blood before. V1 is this miraculous and amazing outlier that ultimately causes the end of heaven itself he's so unheard of.

And that's a problem for ME let me be clear lmao-- because I have to actively try to avoid the whole " *teleports behind you* nothing personal kid " thing almost constantly when writing him fighting lmao. He's fast as lightning, he teleports, he strikes lightning, he can summon near infinite swords and weapons from thin air, he flies, he's like superman-- like, unsurprisingly the boss character from a game unironically called Ultrakill is a bit overkill.

But that's why I really don't like to debate strength levels-- I just care about making a good story and sometimes that involves trying to make it believable. But yeah-- TL;DR, like literally everyone else already said lol, just plot with me preferably ! }}

Semi/Mini-Hiatus

//Hey all.

Due to increasing levels of stress, many things going on in other aspects of my life, I've decided to take a break from tumblr RP for a bit and focus on myself and other hobbies/work.

I have struggled for a while to find passion in the threads I owe, and I don't find joy in just writing for the sake of writing. Going forwards, I will be selective with threads and partners, as I miss writing for a plot. I miss having a coherent timeline and general red thread in my writing. This isn't anyone's fault and simply due to my own preferences having changed in terms of what I want for my muse and what I want to write.

While I will be selective with threads, I am always open to IC asks for my muse, as that will help me find him more easily, and I will always accept asks wanting a voice message. I miss voicing Alastor a lot and I'd like getting into that again.

So please, even though I'm not around much for the next, couple of weeks, feel free to fill my inbox with asks and voice requests. I'll get back to those the moment I feel inspiration strike!

When I return to doing threads, and should I get the urge while still on hiatus, I will limit myself to a few, steady partners/friends of mine that I feel comfortable with, and know I will have inspiration for, because I genuinely enjoy the plots and timelines we've created. Such as @iomadachd, @deathmimedream, @strikers-saloon, and @rockange / @victorycola.

In the meantime, I will go through my old threads that I'm owing and drop a number of them to limit my stress levels.

I will, naturally, be open to new threads when I return! I will still be lurking around, maybe answer an ask or voice request here and there, but I'll mostly be doing other things, and probably do some RP on Discord, away from the public eye.

I don't really consider myself an OTP kind of person, at least in the strictest sense of the term. I'm more about specific characterization than a particular pairing.

what are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

I like shipping when there's a plot behind it. I get bored quickly with shipping for shipping's sake; I need shipping to be a spice on top, rather than the defining feature. I'm open to most any scenario (fluff, angst, h/c, etc etc) but I don't really do smut, because it's rare that I'm not bored by it. I'm fine with characters getting it on with a fade to black.

how large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

(Besides the fact that this is one of those fandoms where characters can be several hundred years apart in physical age...) It's less about the age gap and more about the experience gap for me. I wouldn't ship him with characters that are children or in their early twenties and I wouldn't ship him with characters that are geriatric. I wouldn't say the age gap between those is necessarily my first thought for what makes a ship uncomfortable when it comes to Vox lmao.

are you selective when shipping?

Yesssss kind of. I don't like jumping out of the gate shipping with someone new, at least without talking first. I like to think my take on Vox is technically faithful to canon right now, but disregards or lampshades a lot of fanon assumptions, especially when it comes to Alastor. If you come at me expecting fanon Vox, especially for radiostatic or staticmoth, you'll be disappointed.

how far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?

When the dick starts coming out or the pussy starts getting wet. Or yknow, tentacles or whatever else people write.

*i've been writing in the sonic rpc for a few years now, you might recognize me by the name toby (i'm going by rune now, heads up!) i'm back from my hiatus with a fresh coat of paint and a new way of going about tumblr rp. i will be primarily icon-less since a lot of the time i will not have access to my computer when i'm writing.

What’s your OTP for your Muse(s)?

in broadest terms, my otp will always be dai n dark with someone who sees, understands, and accepts the two as a singular unit and whom they can both hone their affections on. it's okay if it's weird or difficult for a muse to come to terms with at first, and it's okay if there's some things to work out even after the fact, but a healthy, actual full-blown & mutually reciprocated romantic relationship cannot ever happen without both sides of dai n dark being completely acknowledged. this is the sweet spot; this is both dark and daisuke happy and carefree about their transformations around someone else.

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

just about anything as long as we're on the same page. one-sided crushes, hopeless, impossible romances, slowburns, complicated and complex dynamics alongside simple wholesome head over heels romances, dnangel canonically explores this with dynamics like riku and daisuke & dark and risa. just remember that due to the nature of this muse dark and daisuke are essentially already a polyamorous package to those who try to ship with them, you get two embarrassing loverboys for the price of one. in regards to toxic relationships, i do have a limit - i don't want dai or dark to ever suffer too much, and they themselves would never actively, intentionally engage in a toxic dynamic as the toxic ones (leave that to krad,) but if i think a dynamic is interesting enough and we're careful about boundaries, sure, we can talk it out. daisuke's not immune to offering his neck up to vampires or digging his heels in to hold someone back sometimes, if u know what i mean.

daisuke's 14/15, (i usually write him at 15) while dark's appearance is that of a 16 or 17 year old, (this is static and does not change, he's 2000 yrs old,) but they're both still canonically minors so i don't really like shipping them with anyone who's even around 18. (goes without saying i won't ship them with anyone even older/adults, stop that.) a year give or take from daisuke's age is probably what i'm most comfortable with; any younger and he's willing to be an older brother figure instead, while anyone older should recognize him (yes, and dark too!) as still A Kid.

Are you selective when shipping?

somewhat. due to some pretty horrible experiences in the past, i'm not a fan of when people immediately try to push a ship onto me, especially if it's one without any prior development or character dynamic establishment. the nature of this muse demands understanding and true intimacy, if not a certain level of patience at times. it's very, very difficult to just jump into a ship with them if what you want is full-blown romance right away. if i don't feel the reciprocated grasp of my own muse is there, i'm going to lose interest real fast and the ship won't hold any personal value to me. idgaf how hot anybody thinks dark is, even if i know his design pulls in people hoping for a ship. it's low priority to me.

riku is soooooo good you guys she's so good. if you guys read the light novels you'd know how good she was. her relationship with daisuke is the main focus of the series, so it's natural it ends up my favorite. i don't have time to unpack all of it but basically riku's clumsy and a teenager and daisuke's clumsy and a teenager but they both like each other so much and would do anything for each other. they're so good

write a 30 note thread with me with daisuke transforming and howling out his window that he loves you and that it's not a joke or just dark speaking and he really really loves you or write 82484248 threads where little by little daisuke falls in love and tries to muster up the right time / environment to confess or confess to daisuke first and then be gentle with him even after he starts to flounder cause he's never been confessed to before n doesn't think he'd ever be confessed to in the first place, the methods n possibilities are endless, and so i'll say the only method that DOESN'T work is trying to romance dark before daisuke. he'll turn you down very nicely or make some promise about 'next time' but that's a lie, he's stealing and eating your heart. dark's heart is daisuke's; without daisuke his quite literally doesn't exist. you can't reach dark without having something (anything) with daisuke first, so try that instead.

I am completely uninterested in shipping, and will delete most shipping related asks, bar one or two exceptions. While I don’t mind if my RP partners are fans, Billford is NOT one of those exceptions.

While I like to kick off threads with an illustration, I don't regularly use icons or heavy formatting, and I probably won't play ball with anyone whose formatting makes their blog difficult to read.

I can take a while to respond to a thread, and will be quite a bit slower during the work week. If this bothers you, we probably won't be super compatible as writers. That said, if we're threading together and it's been a couple weeks of radio silence, feel free to poke me.

Completely lose my cool not in terms of anger, but having it tank my mood something huge: that everpresent segment of time that seems like loss of interest but isn't, but you have no way of knowing it unless you're close with the person, that usually discourages me from forming meaningful bonds with my muse entirely. Mostly because it's a recurring occurrance I can't shake off.

Prefacing this by saying that these feelings usually hit me past 9PM, and that you should never listen to anything negative that you're feeling past that hour, as it'll be greatly exaggerated by the brain really kicking into Depressive Territory after that fucking hour.

Maybe a wrong approach to this from my part to be a tad upset about this when it happens, because the person/people is/are probably relaxed enough and the development of their muses is that they don't feel the urgency to consistently scour my blog to look for opportunities to develope them (sending an ask meme, hitting me up to plot a starter, etc.). A bit hurtful all the same, and I'm not going to pretend that it doesn't make me go ''...oh'' when i notice that this is happening- it sucks.

I've found that the best approach I can have to deal with this is put a certaint distance between me and that bond/ship, and stop sending ask memes about them to the mun, who probably has other things in their mind and may feel swarmed/pressured to focus on what our muses have, and consistently reduce how much I interact with the entire thing. Once the mun approaches me with an idea and/or I'm being sent an ask meme, I will calmly get to it whenever I can, and things will go back to normal. 

You're more than allowed to be upset about things like not being prioritized as a rp partner, or outright skipped when it comes to being sent things for interactions. It's completely normal to feel bad about it- it's how you go about dealing with it that's important.

But as expected writing is my hobby (go figure) and beyond that is probably video games. A lot and a ALOT of RPGS, Fighting Games, and whatever is out there to get my serotonin running. Shown on my trainer card are my few non-Hoppip Pokémon. I've trained them to help keep things in order. Most of them were caught back during my treasure hunt before I graduated Naranja Academy and started taking care of my Hoppip full time. All of my time is Hoppip time now. It's nice, I guess....

I don’t… understand the question. Am I stupid? Any RP blog, that isn’t a straight ask blog, is going to tell you they prefer threads. Especially novella writers. When you ‘write’ things out in asks, they tend to be shorter or they get so long it can be annoying for the dash. Depends on who is haunting your ask box. Threads allow for more plot and character development, asks are more for silly things, memes, or starting a thread. At least, that’s how it’s always been for me. And I hate threading off of reblogged asks, I’ll always make it a new post and ask others to.

I’m not a fan of one liners that are outside of silly one off interactions. Sometimes they can go somewhere which is great. If I give you multiple paragraphs and you give me one line back again, it’ll get dropped. I think that one is actually stated in my rules. Asks are different but if you turn an ask into a thread that I gave you a lot to work off of with and you give me a couple lines, I’ll probably ignore it.

I’m not trying to gate-keep interactions or say people who do one liners only are, um, beneath me or something I’m just saying I get bored. One-liners or things that go nowhere don’t hold my attention.

Any rper will tell you they love getting asks. It’s why we reblog memes. They’re meant to draw engagement and pull on the dash’s attention. You want to engage with the people you follow, make new connections, develop your characters, write out the plots from your head. The inbox can also be easier to answer than a thread. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out how a muse is meant to interact to something in the middle of a thread. The inbox is new territory with plenty of ways to answer whatever might be in there. And a lot of the time those can be shorter than a thread, less demanding. I have a problem of turning them into creative writing assignments.

We thrive off of world building or character development questions for our muses. However, the real fun is always in parrying your muse off of someone else’s. In creating an adventure through a thread that deepens the world and your muses reaction to something. For all the silly bullshit that happened last night, and as much as Michael completely mentally broke hells-greatestdad over it, the reality is those silly inbox jokes are not going to fix their broken relationship.

The inbox is a great tool for starting something. But if possible you should aim for expanding on them in a thread if they can go somewhere.

What’s your OTP for your Muse(s)?

I will have to go with Jo's answer here and say every ship I have has something about it that makes it my OTP, something unique to us and our partner/their muse. And I don't want anyone to feel excluded or unloved or less loved than anyone else. I do think because she was literally created side by side with @morgansmornings that they share a deep bond that is both familial and the deepest sort of friendship. They are family. They are transcendent.

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

Platonic, familial, and romantic are all on the table with discussion ooc, time, and development. I will do pre-established on the first two but Beth is demisexual/quoiromantic, with a leaning toward sapioromantic. Meaning it takes bonding with someone before she even feels anything 'below the belt' so to speak, and doesn't really understand/distinguish the difference between romantic/platonic feelings, treating them both in the same way, but she does have a very slight preference toward people who can engage her mentally, and seduce her with their awkward intelligence. Toxic ships can be a thing with huge boundaries. The boundary is how comfortable with you as a friend, ooc, regardless of what we are writing. Currently I will be willing to do toxic with: Mischa/Larry { @thebiggestlies }, My Dear Prince and Ionaka {and potentially Na Baron Feyd Rautha @nightmarefuele }, Shades of Ben { @kylo-wrecked }. And I live for the hate-ship of Lorcan and Beth with @macdiari, whose mun is totally one of my bffs which makes it funnier. We can have meetings about the rest. Dubcon/non-con, etc...has to be plotted to within an inch of its life, I don't care what Beth says.

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable? Age is not a really a thing with Beth when it comes to her significant other as long as they are a little over 'of age' {18-21}. She has literally one ship where this isn't the case and her paramour is 15 and she's 25...and it isn't what many people would assume, both of them are broken hearted. This a unique situation with @macdiari. Beth does have a penchant for older partners. Let the 'daddy issue' jokes commence.

Are you selective when shipping?

I would say yes. I only ship with chemistry. And by that I mean myself and the mun as much as the muses. Shipping requires a delicate balance between interest, trust, compatibility, goals... writing something fictional that isn't just pwp is not unlike building a real-life relationship. I want to get to know the other mun. I want us to have in-jokes, I want for us to be comfortable talking about everything and anything even if we might not always agree. I want us to be friends, first.

How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?

I guess I follow the TV guidelines. We can write up to a certain point but once there's body parts that you wouldn't see on network television, it should probably get a tag. I don't care if there's a read more {I will occasionally do that for terminally long posts}, if my partner is more comfortable with one, great. If they prefer it on a different blog, awesome. If you want to write it on discord? Go ahead and add me, fren. I try to faithfully tag certain things because Beth is just...wrong and a lot of her hobbies and interests tend to be really morally questionable at best.

Who are other muses you ship your muse with?

Beth tends to be drawn to people who are neurologically divergent, biologically divergent, other-worldly, empowered, and the like. She is drawn to those who are lonely, othered, or unusual because there is so much in them she sees in herself. And if Beth happens to fall in love, she is neither likely to mention it, nor does she expect for the feeling to be returned. For Beth, love is love. So if you see someone on my dash, unless it's brand new just met you, know that they are cared for, and will always be someone important. As I consider every mutual mun and their muse{s} as some kind of relationship {platonic, familial, romantic, or enemy...I can't really list *every* blog. Sorry.}

Does one have to ask to ship with you?,

I mean it's nice to be asked, so at least I know in broad-strokes what sort of relationship you, the other person, might like but also the fiction can often dictate the course of how things go :)

How often do you like to ship?

I am not gonna lie. I love watching and writing how Beth interacts with people. How she slowly starts to unfold around them and what leads her to becoming involved with other folk.

Yes. And multiverse, too. One of the best things is when you have a multi-verse partner and get to see how your ships and theirs change from friends to other things, depending what verse your in, and how everyone can make a community with that information.

Ship more or less. I love it as much as the next person but that's not the sole purpose of my blog.

Hmm! A good question. I don't really fully know, because I think I leave it very much to the muse's discretion lol. I don't tend to go into interactions planning to ship. So with that, I kinda end up not knowing what to expect! I could probably tell you by interaction how that's affected the character and their feelings on the other person, but even the littlest or biggest thing might change the whole trajectory. Tbh I think everyone brings something interesting and unique to the table, so in most cases i'm open to it if the chemistry happens and it feels natural regardless of speed it happens at. It's fun because personalities can have some real interesting chemistry narratively you don't expect!

BUT that's kind of a side tangent. The best answer I can come up with is if it feels like the mun is trying to force it? Like if the mun tries to undo every conflict, especially if their muse is instigating it, either by having it erased, or their character immediately trying to fix it? Or making their muse behave out of character to make something happen (especially if it aligns with the muse they're interested in's wants/needs), and coming up with reasons why after the fact? Even going out of character and basically asking what the right answer should be so their character can say the right thing, so they can get extra points with the other muse. It feels kinda metagamey and trying to force a good relationship to happen, and it feels inauthentic and kinda makes me feel weird and uncomfortable sometimes?

The other thing is if some of that stuff happens and it feels like the only thing the other mun is after is a ship between the muses. I think shipping stuff can be a neat side effect of rp! But my focus is on characters and how they change and grow and bond when connecting to others, and the constant ever changing growth that comes with being a person. So when someone is clearly there for the ship, most of the time they don't know my version of a character, just either the canon version they're interested in or in OC cases, that they like their look. They'll usually approach and immediately ask to ship, and I'm just not comfy without at least having some kind of interaction first, even if we establish a baseline to make that easier and not need an introduction thread that's an in-character first meeting.

Gosh, that reminds me of a story i find funny though.

It was yearssss ago and it still kinda makes me laugh at the absurdity. I had yet at the time the ability to say no to anyone. someone approached asking for an rp. I agreed, and they immediately wanted to ship, and toss Artair and his gang into a ship with their oc. I was kinda like 'haha i don't know your muse' and they were like Okay. Then just remove the single woman in the ship. Which is bonkers as a response? And i was like 'well maybe we should have them interact first, Artair is demi' which they they asked me to explain why he was demi, how it worked and why that would prevent him from liking thier OC, and what specific traits that they should describe their muses having so I could decide if he'd like him--- and then when i said i didn't know if hearing the traits and not seeing them in action would work, they were like 'okay just put him with the other guy not artair' .

i didn't know how to say no so i just tried to make it sound really boring if i wrote him, so they changed their mind and agreed to just a platonic thread with artair. And then immediately jumped into stuff like a demon chopping off all their limbs and artair needing to make prosthetics and attach them to this character. I distinctly remember that they said artair could surgically attach them and i said I didn't think artair could do that part, and they went 'well then who can' and i was like '.....a doctor?' with the most bafflement lol. It was wild, and my one friend still jokingly says 'paging doctor art-io' as a joke (art-io was because I said artair was as qualified to be a real doctor as dr. Mario was when i told them, i think xD)

That mun went to eat dinner and never came back to the conversation, which i was alright with. Then six months later they reached out and asked to rp again, and i told them if they want to rp, I specifically don't ship-- and they never responded and i never heard from them after that xD
