@unlockthestars liked for a starter for Pyrrha!
"So, Pyrrha, how do you like Atlas?"
Weiss had no illusions about her kingdom. Atlas glittered and shined while Mantle rusted and fell apart beneath them. And yet it still seemed important to her that Pyrrha like it.
She just didn't know why.
"If anyone's bothering you just let me know."

Tempverse ask quick jaune incoming tackle hug from your younger sisters at twelve o’clock think fast!
"So like I was say-"
Jaune never got to finish his sentence, not before he was suddenly knocked off his seat in the cafeteria table by a speeding black bullet.
His eyes widened as his body hit the floor with a rather loud impact, his ever present aura thankfully there to cushion the fall.
"Jaune!"
A mixture of voices called out, worrying for their friend and carefully eyeing the sudden assailant.
Atop their fallen comrade lay a rather diminutive girl with the palest of skin that could compete even with the Schnee, and the darkest of black hair that put Ruby's to shame, currently lay atop their comrade, her arms out stretched and head currently nuzzling into his uniform chest.
"Brother!"
"Brother?!"
The sudden vocalization of her affiliation with Jaune caught all of them offguard. They'd been aware of his various sisters, but hadn't expected to see another one short of Rua at Beacon. especially one who... looked nearly nothing like him.
"Uuuhaaw wha?"
Slowly Jaune came to, his daze lifting lazily. "Lapis?"
"Ah! Dearest brother, you have not forgotten me, I'm well relieved."
"I... what? Why would I forget you?"
Pyrrha and May both stared carefully, feeling a sudden chill run down their spine as their fiance slowly pulled himself from the ground, lifting his tiny sister upwards with him helping her get upon her feet once more.
"Because thou has been charmed by vile vixens!"
"Wait... what? Why? No I haven't, where did you hear that from? And what are you doing here?"
"I have heard from Elder sister Rua, that you've been contracted with fiends most fowl, and have come to rescue you."
Though none there could see her eyes behind her woefully long bangs, Pyrrha and May could feel her gaze upon them, both women shifting awkwardly.
"Yo uh, Jauney, wanna introduce us?"
Yang was the first to break the awkward silence, thankfully for both Pyr and May.
"Oh right! Guys, this is my little sister Lapis, third youngest from the bottom."
Lapis swiftly hid behind her elder brother, peaking from behind, choosing not to introduce herself as she watched both of the local redheads.
"And Lapis, these are my friends, the blonde one who looks like she'd be right at home with our family is Yang."
"Sup lil sis!" Yang gave her a cheerful grin.
"The smaller girl is Ruby, she's the same age as you."
Ruby gasped, "No way! SOmeone my own age!"
She would have been happier, if it wasn't for the sudden glare, at least she felt like she was being glared at, from Lapis.
"Next to her is Weiss, she-"
"The one trying to steal Rua, I know."
"What?! I would nev-"
Weiss wanted to interject, however Lapis pointed at her eyes, then back at Weiss with two fingers. "I'm watching you."
"Right well... these three here are Emerald, Nora, and Ren, they've been together from childhood."
"Sup lil Sis Arc! Oooh you're so adorable!"
"Nora, no."
Nora turned around to Ren, dejected, "Oh come on! I was just going to hug her!"
"Nora, you'd probably crush her."
"Please don't crush my sister."
"Please don't crush me..."
With shoulder's slumped she looked away, "Boo no fun!"
Emerald however, just eyed her for a moment. "Huh, I think I get it."
"Get what?"
"Oh nothing Jaune~"
Jaune glared at her for a moment before turning to Pyrrha and May, "And these two are-"
"The harlots that are trying to steal you from us! I know all about them and their sick and twisted plans, wanting to take you from m- I mean us! How dare you!"
Pyrrha was used to all kinds of defamatory statements about her, it came with the job, but this?! This!? "What? No! We wouldn't do that!"
She was starting to panic.
May blinked, and then looked around, then tried to think about what to say. But her face was burning, she wasn't used to the level of detailed attention that Lapis was giving her, especially with how negative it was!
"Lapis, they aren't taking me from anyone. They're getting added to the family."
"That... no! BUt you're my big brother!" She made a point to glare at Ruby for a moment, who let out a small eep and hid behind Yang.
"Oh sweetie." Jaune pulled his sister into a hug but then, "Wait, what are you doing here? How did you get in?"
"Uncle let me in, and I'm in town with Indy, she's got a thing going on so-"
Before she could finish Glynda came rushing over, "There you are!"
"Ah!"
"You know you're not allowed to wonder freely." The headmistress simply rubbed her hand against her face, trying to keep herself calm.
"Come along, I know you want to see your brother some more, but for now we have to get you and Indy set into the room we've opened for you."
"Wait? Both of them are here?! Does Rua know?!"
"Of course she does Jaune, they'll be staying for the week. Indy is looking forward to seeing you, though she knows to be patient."
For what it was worth, Lapis didn't seem terrified of the strict professor, simply nodding her head and going along.
"I'll be keeping an eye on you!" Lapis said as she was pulled away, though who exactly she was directing it to? No one really knew.
"Oh jeez, we're going to have a crazy week, aren't we?" Yang piped in, enjoying the chaos.
"Yeah..." Jaune couldn't help but agree.
"We're not vixens..."
Pyrrha and May softly spoke to one another.

Establishing Dominance
“Fearless Leader! I challenge you over leadership of team JNPR, accept or forever be a nerd!” Nora shouts at Jaune from on top of the lunch table, standing on his lunch, absolutely ruining Jaune’s nuggies.
Murmurs overtook the cafeteria at her proclamation, it was bold challenge indeed and one if ignored would permanently label Jaune as a nerd. Many people looked at Jaune as if he would bolt from the cafeteria in fear or as if he would crack immediately and surrender the title of leader to Nora so that he may not face her wrath, not that many would blame him, Nora hits hard. But to their surprise, Jaune merely smirked at her challenge, a new wave of murmurs rippling outward.
Jaune had been anticipating it for weeks that Nora would challenge him for leadership of team JNPR, so he wasn’t surprised she had finally did so. He wasn’t surprised she wanted to be Leader, it could be pretty fun at times and he saw how much she wanted to be Queen of the team , he was also pretty sure she wanted that crown he made of twigs, twine and, duct tape he wore in his spare time.
“Very well Nora, consider your challenge accepted.” Jaune said with a warm, smooth confidence.
Nora rocked back as if struck, not expecting this level of nonchalance from her friend and leader. Sure, she knew he would accept her challenge, he had far too much pride not too. But, for him to smile and welcome it? It threw her off guard.
A beaming smile came easily though, this just made it all more exciting.
“Very well, soon to be Fearful of me Leader, I will await in the Emerald forest for you, be there or be square!”
“Count on, it Nora.” Between the eyes of the blond and the ginger, one could swear they saw lightning hopping between them.
Ren signed tiredly, and Pyrrha looked torn between blushing at Jaune’s sudden confidence, and smiling warmly at Nora’s antics.
Yang was watching intently on the two, Ruby looked anxious, Weiss looked on wondering how her life became so insane, and Blake was already writing in her notebook.
The challenge was a serious matter, one he wasn’t letting it go without a fight, he worked really hard on the Crown of Juniper and he’d be damned if some upstart took it from him! ... And, he was the only one with leadership skills out of the four of them, he guessed. There was also the matter of Nora getting bored by afternoon and hand the reigns back over to him, but that would still be most of a day with Nora in charge of team JNPR, and while he may love that insane girl he did not want to clean up the mess after letting her lead.
What did surprise him was the fact she had waited long enough for him to find his semblance before challenging him, that was kind of her. Too, bad he was all out of mercy today. The Crown was his and his alone!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jaune and Nora stared at each other, standing twenty feet apart from each other in a dirt circle thirty feet in diameter. Surrounding them was a crowd of people who turned out to watch them.
Jaune stood tall and proudly with his hair moving in the faint breeze, with the way the sun hit his face he could have been confused for a warrior-prince of old. Though, it was to be noted, only thing covering his body was a baby blue robe.
Nora faced Jaune with her arms crossed somehow managing to look down on him despite nearly being a foot and half shorter. Her turquoise eyes glittering with mischief like a the old Trickster spirits of old. Interestingly enough, she too only wore a robe, hers a pretty cherry blossom pink.
Goodwitch, and Winter Schnee, stood facing the two juggernauts of personality that were her students.
“Strip!” The two yelled out unison.
With that the robes dropped, and the crowd went wild, as nothing could obscure their sight of the Nora and Jaunes naked bodies any longer.
Pyrrha, Velvet, Coco, Ruby, and so many others turned red in the face screaming in ecstasy. The level of excitement in the crowd could not be measured by mere words.
Ren was taking a nap in the dorm, Weiss was sleeping with him; White Lotus for life, Bitches!
Goodwitch and Winter then held up their hands silencing the crowd, and said together, “FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME!” Holding up a bottle of baby oil.
Goodwitch approached Jaune with a maniac look in her eyes and Winter Schnee did the same to Nora. Using their semblances they covered each and every inch of the two’s superhuman physiques! Making them glisten and glow in the sunlight, highlighting their beauty to a godly extent!
Many in the crowd could no longer take it and fainted on the spot, in fact so vast was the spell put on them, even those in Mistral, Atlas, and Vacuo trembled in ecstasy knowing something freaking hot was happening. Half the crowd then fainted, Pyrrha and Ruby were just one of the many casualties.
Winter and Glynda scurried quickly out of the arena to join the screaming masses as the Jaune and Nora began stretching, knowing their job done.
Nora rolled her shoulders, hopping in place. “Last chance to back out, Jaune. I won’t think any less of you.”
Jaune arched his back, his hands on his hips, stretching till he heard a gratifying pop. “Oh? Is that mercy from the queen, I hear? How rare. I’m afraid I have to refuse,” Jaunes eyes narrowed a Nora’s own. “A king never backs down.”
Nora’s smile could cut a man down. “Oh well, I tried.” And then she crushed two apple sized lightning dust crystals in her hands, lightning dancing across her body, eyes and hair which shot up like a middle finger to gravity, and she shivered in masochistic pleasure. “Oh yeah, that’s the stuff.” She cracks her neck. “When I win, I’m snorting that shit off your dick!”
Jaune stomps a foot down, a shock-wave sending dust flying away from him, as he squared up, his aura flaring as he amped up it up. “Don’t threaten me with a good time Nora, you’ll just make me fight harder~”
“Hehehe,” Then with a crack of thunder, the ground where Nora once stood crumpled, a series of foot prints broke the ground in a straight towards Jaune before Nora blurred into sight before Jaune throwing a right jab at his jaw!
Jaune however felt more than saw her, as his aura dangled a spider thin thread of awareness of where Nora was coming. Tilting his head to the side avoiding the jab, and then bringing up his left arm to block her left cross.
He put up his guard as she had him on the defensive, as Nora sent a avalanche of jabs to prod his defense. He felt her tiny, dense hands hit his aura clad arms like a automatic shotgun! Each blow sending him inching ever so slightly back.
But, his defense held, no matter the number of punches she could send, she couldn’t break his defense yet! So he waits and watched for her to over extend.
Nora felt a flash of danger in her aura sense, and jumped back over ten feet just as Jaune nearly grabbed her wrist, a move that would have left her at the mercy of his superior reach.
Jaune saw his chance and rushed Nora, sending his own valley of jabs, but keeping the superior range of his arms in account to send punches that put him a much lower risk than she was by staying out of her reach.
Nora chose to block the first set of jabs, and instantly regretted it, as Jaune may have been much slower than Nora sending out maybe one punch per five of her own, his superior range, mass, and aura amplification let him hit almost five times harder than her! Each of his hands glowing with primordial light, each hit releasing a shock wave of sheer force, each punch feeling like a artillery shell from an Atlas Warship, and they only grew harder to endure as she could feel Jaune’s aura amping higher and higher.
Nora made a tactical decison to keep herself in the fight, and let one punch hit her downward into the chest, just as she leaned back and jumped! She was launched across the arena, but that’s what she wanted, to get space.
She wiped out across the dirt, but soon regained control, and clawed her hands into the dirt and pulled herself into a crouch. She focused her electric power and her semblance, shifting her allocation of power from strength to speed, stamina, and reflexes. She just couldn’t hit hard enough to fight Jaune on equal ground without Magnihild, but weapons weren’t allowed in Leadership Challenges, but she could definitely out speed him and possibly, out last him, and if nothing else leverage her superior fighting experience to win.
Jaune felt more than saw her change in stance, as a gust of wind hit him and with it what felt like a thousand hits to his solar plexus. A gasp was forced out him, as his amped up danger sense could no longer keep track of Nora. He re-speced near instantly and put his perception into defense, he couldn’t keep track of Nora and defend against at the same time. He crouched and guarded letting her hit like a lightning.
But, so what if she was lightning? He’d be the earth that grounded her!
He could feel her chipping away at his aura, even as he amped its regeneration. He smiled with pride, but knew he couldn’t play defensive forever. She’d wear him down.
Nora hit him with everything she had, making sure to hit consecutively in the same spot so he’d really feel it. But, it didn’t feel like she was making a real dent in his reserves. Then she saw it, a slight tremble in his left calf.
She lunged forward and kick his tree trunk of leg a dozen-dozen times, then it went flying like she wanted. Jaune’s body leaving the earth, she smirked, didn’t matter how good your defense was, if you’re in the air you’re at gravity's mercy, and gravity is a bitch.
Nora got behind him and put her power into strength again and let him have it. Throwing him up sky high, Jaune disappearing like a twinkling star. That wasn’t the end of it thought, and Nora shattered the ground following him up.
Jaune never knew the Emerald forest was so pretty from a couple thousand feet up, but you learn something knew everyday. But, what he did know is that Nora would follow up that assault with something gruesome. So he re-amped his awareness, by twice, by tens times, by hundreds times, by a thousand! Then he felt it that the spider thread awareness widening into an almost prescience level of knowledge as he knew not saw where Nora was coming from.
He could laugh, that it was her throwing him up here that gave him the chance to actually track her. He followed the threads of awareness, and looked above as Nora tried to hit him with a spinning double axe kick to his head.
He caught her by the feet the moment gravity renewed her hold on the two, he gave her a wink, and as they fell he spun her by the feet faster and faster till he let her go, sending her down with a air shattering shock wave.
Nora hit the ground like a ginger meteor and she crumpled prone the last vestiges of semblance going out, her hair falling down, and a shock wave knocking over unfortunate watchers.
They wouldn’t get a chance to get back up soon, as Jaune landed on Nora with a shockwave as Jaune mounted her stomach, a hand cocked back.
“Still want to fight to be leader?” Jaune asked smiling, a glowing hand cocked.
“Nope!” Nora said cheerfully. “Maybe later~, but, that was the most fun I’ve had since I got here!”
“That’s great Nora!” Jaune said getting up. “Now is there anybody else that wants to fight me for leadership of team JNPR?”
“Yeah, I do!” Yang yelled out, striping out of her clothes, showing off two double DD’s.
“Me too!” Coco said stripping in tandem.
“Oh, whys that?” Jaune asks.
“Well you can’t strip naked, and fight, then leave! We came here to watch y’all fuck! Now you’re going to leave us blue balled! Oh, hell no!” Yang says, while Coco nods.
“Then come get some!” Jaune said still naked and glistening!
AN: I had fun writing this. The original idea was Jaune and Nora getting oiled up and a wrestling, but it somehow turned into this.

Motion Sickness 63.2: Dreams and Honor
pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq
I waited at the altar alone. Ren's wreath of pink and green was there. Penny was off to one side and waiting. But I was under the arch and up on the altar all alone and waiting. I folded my arms in front of me and looked out into the tiny crowd of guests. Oscar was close by to perform the ceremony. But really it was just me. Just waiting for my ladies to walk my way.
There was a cool breeze which was nice but I still felt hot and dizzy in my peach yellow tuxedo.
Then Ruby exited the house in her trumpet style wedding gown with her father beside her and for the second time that day my heart stopped in my chest. Her father was leading her by the arm down to me where I was waiting and the blood rushed to my face like I stood up too quickly. My face got hot and it felt like a dozen hooks were in the flesh around my eyes and we're all pulling gently. It was a little like I was seeing sunlight for the first time. Looking at her. It was a blinding rush.
Weiss walked out in a low back mermaid gown and I nearly stumbled. I laughed a little when I saw her and only when my face moved did I realize I was crying. It still felt like all the skin on my face was being gently pulled away in a rush like hyper. Really right behind the eyes. It was a different kind of blinding sensation. Like I was being plunged into darkness as my blood pressure spiked and my vision tunneled. I didn't actually pass into unconsciousness looking at Weiss. But I did spread the legs of 'unconsciousness' and tease her. I almost made sweet, sweet love to unconsciousness. And it burned me in my skull like I just smoked a bowl or got a runner’s high.
I exhaled a shaking breath. I could do this. I could do this. I was a man. Come on, man. I was getting bopped. They were crushing me like a beer can. Only it was my brain.
Taiyang handed Ruby off to me. She smiled and gave me a gentle giggle. My expression must have been funny. Because she was laughing at me. I couldn't get it together before Weiss was given to me by Klein. She tried to hide her own laugh behind her hand. It was a dainty quiet thing and I was glad they were deriving so much amusement from me. So glad. I mean… I did alright in my tuxedo. I did alright. I didn't look like a god though. They looked like little bright goddesses in all white.
Taiyang and Klein took their seats in the single front row.
Ruby cooed, "aww." And she patted me on the arm.
"He's crying," Weiss whispered.
"I told you!" Ruby shot back at a pitch that would be hard to hear even just a little away from us.
"Yeah," I managed to croak out like an idiot. "I am." I couldn't stop or get it together. My face still felt flush like I stood up too quickly. I'd love to see a graph of my blood pressure over the last two minutes? Five minutes? I hardly remembered watching them walk down the aisle. They just sort of appeared. They were doin' it on purpose, too. It was hard to prove but if I was a betting man, I'd bet on that.
"Welcome all of you!" Oscar began in an Ozpin like fashion. "We're going to go ahead and get started…" Ozpin trailed like he was Oscar. "We are gathered to celebrate the union of these three in matrimony as a commitment for the rest of their lives."
"This marriage is being created through equality, mutual respect, affection, and a willingness to not abuse the power they each grant one another over themselves. It's not an easy trick to manage. It isn't a cheap trick. And if it's an illusion, then it's an illusion like the horizon or time itself. It possesses a recurrent and quiet beauty," Oscar pressed on.
I didn't much feel like Ruby's or Weiss's equal. Not really. It made me want to laugh a little. Ruby and Weiss were… well, they were fantastic. And I was mediocre at best. You feel me? Like I mean honestly. Who wrote this? Probably them. That made it a little harder to laugh at. It made it somehow stronger like they wrote it into existence like a law of nature. Like gravity or electromagnetism or color.
"We are gathered here today to witness an enormous union surrounded by few friends and family members. We would like to embrace a quiet moment of silence for those fallen." Oscar bowed his head.
My first thought went to Pyrrha. That… hadn't healed. It was a gaping wound in my heart that just rolled like waves on a beach. What if. Splash. What if. Splash. What if. And it was hard to tell that voice 'enough. I'm happy where I am and you can't take that from me.' I didn't always succeed in doing that. Sometimes it got the better of me. And I couldn't master myself. I couldn't tell it to shut up because it was so deep.
Then my thoughts ran to Ren and Nora. I'd gotten them killed in a bad, bad way. I robbed them of their chance to explore one another. What if. Splash. What if. Splash. What if. In Pyrrha's case it was like yeah. Maybe. But in Ren's and Nora's I took that from them. And it was hard in a different way than the way Pyrrha was hard. But I'm not sure it was any less hard. It was brutal.
I looked at the flowers set out for my dead team. It was so far from enough to do them justice that I wanted to laugh a touch madly. It was like a nagging wiggling worm crawling through my brain and driving me absolutely nuts as it ate away at the grey matter inside. The pain I was in was excruciating. It was the sort of pain which unwinded you.
"Okay. I think that's quite enough of that. Because today is a celebration. How many of us struggle and fail to find even one person to spend a lifetime with? And you three are so very fortunate to have found not only one, but two others to share it with. That's something beyond special. It is exceptional. And it tends to defy all logic and reason. I'm sure it wasn't easy to build what you have here. It probably stumbled together. It was probably fragile at times. I'm sure if you could go back you'd do it differently. Yes it worked out. But it didn't come to you all wrapped up in a neat little bow. Things like this are never clean. They can't be. But it's stronger for the difficult times. Scar tissue is stronger than flesh. And that's not to say your wounds are healed. Probably not. But you are better for it together. You may now go into your vows."
"I, Ruby Rose, solemnly swear that I know of no lawful reason why I should not be joined in marriage to Jaune and Weiss. And I ask those present to witness as I take them as husband and wife."
"And to Weiss I do swear to always be your best friend and partner in action. Besties to lovers. You know?" She giggled. "I know I'm a little energetic. I love your patience with me. I know I try you. It doesn't go unnoticed and unappreciated. I love that about you. It's quiet and strong but never lonely. I'll always be there beside you when you need me. Less than a call away. Always. You were there for me when I was hurting so bad and I want to work by your side as mothers, huntresses, friends, and lovers. I think we can make a wonderful life together."
"And to Jaune I want to be a light in your life. I know you are trialed and a lot is resting on your shoulders. I want you to know you can share that load with me. I ask a lot of you and put more on your plate. But if it's at all possible I want to make your life a little easier. I want you to always be able to count on me and never hide away in yourself. I want to feel with you and be a part of your struggles. I don't want you to ever hide what you're feeling from me. You've had some rough times and you have more ahead but maybe they can be happy even if they are difficult. Maybe you can let me take care of you. And I want to."
"I, Weiss Schnee, solemnly swear that I know of no lawful reason why I should not be joined in marriage to Ruby and Jaune. And I ask those present to witness as I take them as wife and husband.”
“To Ruby I never had a friend like you before or since I met you. For the first time in my life I wasn’t truly lonely and that’s all thanks to you. I want to mirror that companionship for you. I want to give back what you have given me. I will always be your partner. And together in true sisterhood I want that intimacy with you I started to crave in Mistral. And I was hungry to have you and be with you. I was starved all my life and it was like eating for the first time when I was with you. I can’t wait to continue to explore each other.”
“For Jaune you won my lonely heart. I got to know the real you. You’re protective, kind, and only a touch obsessive. Your drive is both your greatest vice and greatest virtue. You know how to push yourself and you keep pushing me to be better beside you. You make me want to be a better person. More kind, and gentle, empathetic. You make me hungry for more and I want to give you the rest you deserve. I want you to rest beside me, now. Rest like you belong here. Let your aura shine and shed power like a star. I want to provide you that gentle comfort and support. I want to be a good night’s sleep in your mind. If I could give anything to you it would be that. Because you’ve earned it.”
“I…” I started and choked and stopped for a moment to take a breath. “I, Jaune Arc, solemnly swear that I know of no lawful reason why I should not be joined in marriage to Weiss and Ruby. And I… I ask those present to witness as I take them as my wives.” My voice was shaking and low. But it was getting smoother as I talked more. I got into my rhythm and started to flow and I let my voice timbre.
“For Weiss I think everybody fantasizes about marrying their first crush. I don’t have to fantasize. From the moment I saw you I knew that I wanted you and I would do anything and be anything to impress you. I still feel that way. I still would do anything and everything to impress you and win one of those soft centered smiles you sometimes give out like chocolate. I want the last thing I ever see to be that little real smile I usually have to work hard for. And I want the last thing I ever hear to be your voice hitting a high note and singing me a sweet song. I want to work and struggle and earn those smiles from you. I vow to try as hard as I can to get just one more of those smiles each and every day.”
“To Ruby you were my first real friend. And I couldn’t have fantasized for a better first friend to have. When I fell apart you pulled me together. I could have been and would be nothing without you. Because you were the first person to ever really believe in me. I want to give that back to you. I want to believe in you and support you and be always faithful to you in every way. I feel like I can never ever be half as a good of a friend as you have been to me over these years. But I swear to try my hardest. And I swear to plea against fate and make your dreams come true. I don’t have dreams of my own. I borrow a little bit of yours and it makes me strong in ways I never imagined I could be. I vow to dream up something you can share in and be a friend of such unflinching affectionate solidarity that you always have a safe space you can return to.”
“You have all decided to exchange rings. Please take them and in doing so bind yourselves to this union.”
I reached out to the pedestal on the altar and took the largest Titania and engraved ring. I slipped it on my finger.
“I take this ring as a sign of my fidelity to you two and my undying love. In doing so I bind myself to you both,” I murmured.
“I take this ring as a sign of my fidelity to you two and my undying love. In doing so I bind myself to you both,” Weiss hummed and put it on her finger.
“I take this ring as a sign of my fidelity to you two and my undying love. In doing so I bind myself to you both,” Ruby whispered and slid her’s on.
"By the power vested in me I pronounce this union. You may now kiss," Oscar informed us.
Ruby and Weiss leaned in and kissed me. One on each cheek and then turned and pecked each other to the applause of friends and family.
It didn’t feel real. I stared at the ring on my finger and how the silvery metal caught the light. I turned my hand around, this way and that and stared at it. It felt like a long lost memory or a distant dream but I was awake. It was happening to me.
“Jaune?” Weiss got my attention.
“Wha…?” I wondered dumbly.
“Come on,” Ruby took me by the arm.
We weren’t really going anywhere for the recessional. Dinner was going to be served right here. Salmon and beef steaks and vegetables were served and I sat at a table with a wife on each arm. And that was pretty fucking slick. Not gonna lie.
I thumbed my left earring with my left hand wearing the new ring. It felt fake. It felt too… dreamlike. Consciousness was an abstract if it wasn’t an outright illusion. This felt untrue. It felt too good to be real. Things this good didn’t happen to me. They just didn’t. I felt as though it was going to be robbed from me at any moment.
“I’ve been meaning to ask, Jaune,” Ruby began over dinner. “Are you hiding your aura away on purpose? Does it have to do with Salem?”
“No… no. Am I? I don’t mean to be.”
“Well then, let it out. Let me taste your emotions,” Ruby pleaded. She was a hungry little empath. She wanted to feed off of me. And of course I was going to allow it. I allowed my golden aura to stretch all joyful and elated out of my body. I let the surrealness of it all known and I could taste Ruby’s and Weiss’s emotions. Ruby tasted like cinnamon and flowers. Weiss tasted like cold coffee and custard pudding and crushed crisp ice. I could literally feel how happy they were through our auras and my head fell in my hands and I started crying again.

This one-shot AU is inspired by a song. I’m trying out a weird writing style for myself. Or something like that. I just hope it makes sense in the end. Bare with me.
Freezerburn!
Beware: 5k words. Everyone in this “one-shot” is cheeky and a smart-ass. They’re teenagers, obvi. (except for god tier dad tai.) I would’ve expanded on this whole entire thing if it weren’t for me claiming it to be a one-shot. FDGKJDSG.
It’s from a Yang PoV / Almost an introspective/journalistic and basically a journey into discovering herself and what she likes. (Plot twist: It’s Weiss)
September 13th, 20[xx]
“Yang, seriously? Senior year, and you still haven’t had a crush on anyone?” Jaune poked at her, questioningly. Nora and Ren sighed.
Pyrrha lightly smacked Jaune on the shoulder, “Don’t question her with silly things like that.” she smirked mischievously “Are you sure you don’t find any guy attractive?” they were playing with her.
Yang leaned forward, her head resting on her elbow as she idly chewed her corn dog, only to look down at it and frown. “No? It’s high school. I’m focused on..Go-” her go to response when she didn’t feel like playing along.
“Good grades. Good morals. And most of all my sister!” everyone at the lunch table seemed to repeat, in a cultist chant like manner.
Yang leaned back and rolled her eyes, “I’m heading to class.” she starting packing up her things. Her appetite had suddenly disappeared. You guys are lucky that you’ve been my friends since middle-school. Or else, I don’t know how I would deal with you lot.
“Oh, come on you guys - don’t tease her like that.” Nora scolded the two.
Yang waved off, “It’s fine. I’m just going to study a bit before class.” she had thrown her things away and made a beeline towards the exit.
What’s the big deal about having a boyfriend anyways? It wasn’t fair that Yang had to eat lunch with not one, but two pairs of couples, while her other friends had different lunch scheduling. But it wasn’t their fault it ended up like that.
There’s nothing wrong with not having a crush! I mean, it’s not like I know what it feels like to have one anyways. Well, it’s not that I’ve considered it. Dating, that is. Yang eyes wandered around the hallways. A boy with gorgeous green eyes and black hair passed by her. He’s attractive. Would he be my type?
Yet, Yang only seemed to eye the boys she had passed by and found them... as she would normally find guys. Normal. Maybe...girls? A redness took over her face. Did she like girls? Wasn’t it the norm to have a boyfriend? Surely, her friends made it look that way.
Yang headed into class and as usual there was that one girl, with ivory colored hair that stood out to the rest of the world. The girl didn’t seem to budge or make a movement - as this was how it usually was. Yang took her place a few seats diagonal from the girl and pulled out her papers and notes.
This is so bothersome! What’s the big deal about being in love anyways? Tcch.. She let out an audible sigh.
“That’s how I feel about question sixteen.” The voice from behind her commented as she tapped her pencil.
Yang shook herself out of her thoughts, trying to catch what the girl said. She turned her head and pretended as if she had heard - “Yeah, haha. It sucks.” she returned in a half-assed response. Her eyes gazed over the girl, noticing the tiny detail of a scar running over her left eye - she seemed to return a smile and nod and returned back to looking over her own notes while Yang turned and did the same thing.
Four weeks in this class and almost four years in this school and you’d think I’d know everybody by now. She rubbed her forehead, she really wasn’t doing a good job at looking over her notes... Come to think of it. I don’t think I’ve seen her face around the school at all.
Her eyes squinted over the paper in front of her and then she turned around, “Hey, uhm...I don’t think I caught your name.” Yang said to the girl.
She seemed to raise an eyebrow at the girl, “We’ve been in this class for how long, doing attendance and you still don’t know my name?” the girls seemed to be dead serious - her tone shifting completely.
“Ahh...” Yang seemed caught off guard. Shit, well - she’s not wrong. I just really don’t pay attention to the people in my class! It’s not like that matters. I’m not here to make friends anymore. Should I apologize? Play it -
“Whoa, whoa. Relax. You look like you’re about to explode” she teased, “I’m Weiss. I’m pretty much new to this school.” she flashed a quick smile.
Yang seemed to hide her face for a moment. That was embarrassing. I didn’t think she’d be so chill about it.
“And you’re Yang Xiao Long, aren’t you?”
“Ahhh...” Yang froze up once again. She knows me, I don’t know her. This is definitely awkward. Here I am proving that I am a grade-A asshole.
“For someone that looks as tough as you, I definitely wouldn’t have taken you for the shy type.” Weiss commented, twirling her pencil in between her long slender fingers.
“For someone that looks as icy as you, I never would’ve considered you for the cheeky type.” Yang retaliated in a joking manner.
Weiss chuckled, “I’d say more a defiant type. Defying the odds, but...” she shrugged and merely smiled.
“Never judge a book by it’s cover?”
“Exactly that.”
October 18th, 20[xx],
Parts of me still don’t understand the feel for love. Recently, Blake entered into a relationship with Sun. I’m a little bit jealous. Jaune and Pyrrha. Ren and Nora. Sun and Blake. I mean, everything is still the same with them - it’s just that they have each other. I still have them. Just not in ‘that way’. Whatever that is.
I want to feel what love is. But how will I know when I meet the right person?
“Yang, now is not the time to be daydreaming.” Weiss shook her awake from her thoughts. “We’ve got work to do.”
“Oh, right.” Yang had handed Weiss the decorations - a group of them had been preparing for the upcoming festivities. The two had joined one of the school committee clubs and were now overseeing the decorations for the school in its entirety. Today they had decided to stay a little bit after school and now; it was safe to say at this point that Yang and Weiss were friends due to how much time they had spent together over these last five weeks.
Yang looked up at Weiss, holding the ladder steady as Weiss proceeded to hang up some spooky bats in the hallways. “Vance! I swear - if you don’t straighten out that poster - it’s going to be the death of me.” Weiss yelled from atop the ladder.
Meeting the right person at this time and place just seems... silly. If it were meant to be then it would’ve happened already. It seemed as if Yang had returned to daydreaming, nearly drowning everything out around her. I don’t even know what you’re supposed to do when you fall in love. Everyone around me usually acts like themselves. But what about in private...No, nope. She openly shook her head at her own thought. Still lost in them.
Don’t want to think about that. Do I want to be alone forever? No, not really. Am I, Yang Xiao Long - brave enough to venture into the territory of falling in love? Even if I do where would I find it?
“Jeez, you’re on a ladder and over 5 feet tall and suddenly you have power?” Vance, one of the committee students retorted.
It’s honestly not like someone is going to fall right into my arms and then we’ll fall madly in love through some weird happenstances.
Weiss glared intently and stepped down, only to miss a rung on the ladder as Yang’s grip had lightened on the ladder itself, not holding it as steadily “Sh-” the ladder toppled over as did Weiss.
Within almost an instant Weiss landed on top of Yang, safely. While the ladder slid to the left. Yang, however was the not-so-lucky participant of these unwanted chain of events.Yang had landed straight on her ass, bruising her tailbone with Weiss comfortably sitting her lap.
Ow, ow, ow!!! God, what are you playing at?
Vance ran up to the two, “Whoa, are you two okay?”
Weiss stood up, “Yeah, we’d be fine if you hadn’t made such a comment.” she wiped herself off and helped Yang up.
“What? You’re the one who started talking to me first. You didn’t have to be so rude about it.”
Yang seemed to watch the two squabble as she patted her own backside. That would definitely bruise.
“I was only doing my job, Vance. That’s what I’m here for.” she glared.
Wait. Shit. This is my fault. Weiss wouldn’t have fell if my grip hadn’t been so weak. Might also be the schools fault since this ladder is older than the school itself. I guess I’ll do something about it.
“Hey! Nobody’s at fault here.” Yang interjected, “First off - this ladder is old as shit. Definitely isn’t sturdy to begin with. Second off - I may or may not have been daydreaming. Again. So my grip may have been... weak.” she sheepishly grinned. “Third off - my ass really hurts so can we just get this over with?”
Weiss let out a sigh while Vance just smirked, “Yang, you’re really losing you’re cool kid rep.” Vance commented.
“Coming from the guy who sounds like an old man. Got it gramps.” she sarcastically responded.
Weiss let out a chuckle her, hand covering her mouth, “Alright, alright. Vance, get back to work. I have things to talk about with Ms. Xiao Long here.”
“Professor Peach, is that you?” Yang looked at Weiss with a playful look about her, her hand resting on her chin in a mock-perplexion.
Weiss groaned and pulled Yang away to where none of the rest of the committee were.
“Yang, are you okay?” Weiss seemed to ask.
“Well, like I said my butt really hurts so…”
“No, no. Not about that it just seems like you’ve got something on your mind.” Weiss questioned.
Oh shit. Have I been that obvious? My thoughts aren’t even really that important - it’s just that...now it’s become an obsession. With my feelings. With all of this. I want to figure it out. I don’t think I can ask Weiss what love really feels like - she probably knows as much as me considering all she’s told us at lunch… which frankly hasn’t been much. We’re nearly the same in that aspect. Clueless and loveless.
“Yang, Remnant to Yang.” Weiss snapped her fingers in front of Yang’s face.
“Ahhh…” Yang’s focus was brought back in as she looked up at Weiss who seemed a little bit more than concerned. “I do have things on my mind, I just...I don’t think I can talk about it with you. Sorry if I caused problems today. I promise it won’t happen again.”
Weiss sighed and nodded, “Alright. Well, Yang… if you ever have anything you want to talk about just know that I’m here for you.” she grabbed Yang’s hand and shared a soft smile. She gently squeezed it and let go. Weiss walked away, back towards the group going back on her controlling rampage of spooky decor.
What was that?
For a split second Yang had felt a feeling in her gut as Weiss had grabbed her hand. She didn’t have the time to respond. But it had overwhelmed her in just a short second. She looked down at her hand, feeling the sensation burn and then leave her all the same. Once more, she looked over at Weiss and watched her harass the second years over the placement of some webbing.
Weird.
She clutched at her chest.
Very weird.
November 1st, 20[xx]
Yang couldn’t imagine what those feelings were. Or where they had come from. It’s not like they had been constant. When Yang was on her own, her mind would usually wander to the usual. Like work and what she needed to do. However, on occasion - her mind would wander onto Weiss, her friend.
It’s a Friday, I wonder if she has any plans. Don’t know what we’d do though. She looked real pretty in those leggings today. Her make-up was on point too. And the way she smiled when I told her that was the best part in it all.
She felt the bubbling in her stomach once more. She rubbed her stomach, “Gahhh.” she muttered. Her heart, seemed to be doing some weird tricks too.
“Hungry, sport?” Tai called from the kitchen, as if he had a sixth sense for these things.
Yang shot up from her spot on the couch and turned towards her father's voice.
“Hell yeah!”
“Language!”
“Fuck yeah!”
“Yang, just get your butt in here.”
Yang scurried her way to the kitchen and started to peel the potatoes that her father had left on the counter. A silence filled the air until Yang had decided to break it.
“Dad?”
“Yeah?”
“How did you and mom fall in love?” She asked nonchalantly.
Tai seemed to sputter on the spot, “Are you talking about Raven or Summer?”
“Both, I guess.” Yang shrugged.
“Well, that’s a loaded question in itself. Raven and I fell in love in college and had you. I met Summer after college, through old friends and we just happened to fall in love and connect and had your sister, Ruby.”
Yang sighed, “You like, completely missed the point of my question.”
“What?”
“I want to know how you fell in love, what it feels like, looks like, how do you know they’re the one?” Yang had finished peeling in a record time and turned towards Tai who seemed taken aback by the sudden barrage of questions.
“Why the sudden twenty questions?” he seemed to stop in his own actions.
“Do I need a reason?”
“Well, you’ve never shown interest in this stuff before… so there’s definitely something or someone on your mind.”
Yang sputtered, her mind instantly going to Weiss… but why her? Yang didn’t like her… not like that.
“No, no! I’m just…” she let out a sigh “all of my friends, except me are dating. I’m tired of not knowing what the big deal is.”
Tai chuckled, “Well, Yang...that’s up to you on whether or not it’s a big deal. Finding love is different for everyone and just because you have it now - doesn’t mean it’s always going to last. So, I’m going to tell you this. Falling in love is different for everyone, but the feelings are usually the same. My take on it, is that it’s finding happiness that you can share with another person. Happiness that isn’t forced, but just is. Being or even thinking of that person can make your heart at ease or maybe overly joyed. There’s no right or wrong way to feel about the way you love someone, as long as you know they aren’t being harmed by it. If anything, your heart is the one to tell you if they’re the one. It’s something you have to listen carefully for. Not with just your heart, but with your mind too.”
Yang fell silent.
This is… a lot more than I expected.
“Yang, you’re my daughter but we’re still two completely different people. Love has its ways. And yours will find its way to you too. Don’t fear to question it. To challenge it. To accept it. But remember, loving someone doesn’t solely involve you… and they’re not an object of your affection to be won. But an actual human being to be respected - whether or not they like you back too. Share in your experiences, thrive through your mistakes and make the outcome better than what you had before.”
I don’t think I really understand any better. Or am I just that dense when it comes to love? Maybe it wasn’t the best idea to ask dad, but I don’t know if either of my mom’s would know how to answer that.
Guess I’ll have to figure this out by myself.
December 15th, 20[xx]
“No one?!” Yang’s eyes widened.
“Yeah, the all seemed to cancel at the last minute.” Weiss replied as the two now stood at the entrance of the ice skating rink.
Ahh shoot, I guess that’s what we get for planning near the break.
“So just the two of us then?” Yang held the door open for Weiss.
It’s not like that had actually mattered to Yang, the two of them had grown closer as friends. They had eaten lunch together, studied together, and sometimes casually hung out. Yet, Yang couldn’t get rid of this nagging feeling inside of her. It pulled her along whenever she was with Weiss.
Not a big deal. It’s the usual protocol… She scrunched her face as she followed Weiss through the building. Protocol? What am I, some military commander? Sheesh, Colonel Xiao Long lighten up. The nagging feeling had returned. Yang couldn’t place her finger on it.
The two had gotten their skates, with Weiss having brought her own and Yang having to rent some out.
“I forgot to ask, you know how to skate right?” Weiss finished tying up her skates and stood up.
Yang shook her head “Nope.”
Weiss held her hand over her mouth in a small chuckle, “Oh, this’ll be fun.” a mischievous look grew about her.
Yang could feel herself light up at the look of Weiss. She was with her best friend! Of course she was happy about being with her best friend. But… she still couldn’t shake this feeling. She wanted to enjoy herself with Weiss and she was, but this… this was entirely different.
Ignore it. You’re here for her. No, wait. You’re here with her. That’s right.
Yang stood up, finishing her own lacing and followed Weiss onto the ice. Only to quickly flail about and grab for the sides. She breathed out, watching her own breath fill the air. Vale’s winters weren’t exactly the coldest, but weren’t the warmest either. Even inside the rink they had to wear a decent amount of warm clothing to stay warmed and contented. And they made sure not to dally about outside.
Weiss once again covered her mouth in a giggle as she glided along the ice with such grace and ease.
“All right there, Ms. Ice Queen why don’t you come help a newbie out?” Yang seemed to cry out.
She makes it look all too easy. The way her legs help her glide along the ice and the way her hair sways… it really must help her form!
Weiss held her hand out for Yang to grab onto.
For a second her heart began to jumpstart.
This shit again?! I’m just with Weiss so why am I like this? It doesn’t feel bad at all but every time Weiss and I are alone I just can’t seem to fight whatever this is.
Yang held onto Weiss’s hand, nearly stumbling as she let go of the side railing.
“Take it easy there, you big brute. Try moving your legs in this sort of gliding motion.” Weiss seemed to playfully tease as she helped Yang slide along the ice. They were lucky that it wasn’t a packed rink as a few others seemed to also glide around them with ease. The two had seemed to pick up speed without Yang even noticing.
“Everyone’s a show off, huh.” Yang gave off a light-hearted grin towards Weiss who grinned at her in return.
Another sensation hit Yang.
Shit. When did it get so warm in here? And why do my hands feel so clammy? I should let go of Weiss.
With that thought Yang had accidentally entered into another daydream like-state. Her mind immediately taking the thought into consideration and letting go of Weiss who’s momentum had already taken her forward near the outer edge.
“Yang?!” Weiss sped a little forward and turned around only to see Yang snap out of it and wildly flail her arms towards Weiss.
OH SHIT.
With her arms in front of her, she seemed to wave about wildly wanting to catch the wall that Weiss happened to be in the way of. “How do I stop?!”
It was a little too late as Yang’s lengthy arms caught the wall, but now Weiss was trapped in between Yang and the wall - Yang who had come at a surprisingly fast speed had managed to not crush Weiss too badly.
But now the situation had turned, what Yang considered, awry.
She was chest to chest with Weiss, she could feel Weiss’s breath tickling her collarbones. Yang looked down at Weiss, who seemed to be caught off guard. The look that Weiss had given her has they stood so intimately close was one that would be ingrained into the mind of Yang Xiao Long for the rest of her life. One, that Yang couldn’t really be sure if she was seeing things correctly.
Weiss, are you blushing?
“W-Weiss...I’m so sorry.” Yang’s voice suddenly trembled. This wasn’t a life-threatening situation, but it was for Yang.
Her heart was burning.
Weiss once again rose her hand to cover her mouth in a laugh. But for some reason Yang lightly grabbed her hand to hold it down.
“Don’t hide it. It’s beautiful.” Yang blurted out.
Weiss’s eyes went wide with a very visible blush. Or maybe it was the coldness hitting her cheeks.
Shit. Why did I say that? Why did it feel so good? Why does she look like that?! What’s going on?!
“Have to pee. Be right back.” Yang babbled out. She seemed to awkwardly inch her way off of Weiss and and quickly shuffled herself along the railing, leaving a stunned and bewildered Weiss to her own devices.
I don’t have to pee. That was a lie. That last thing about Weiss’s laugh being beautiful WASN’T a lie. It balances it out, right?
Yang untied her skates and put on her shoes and ran off to the restroom.
Why won’t these feelings go away?
She had entered the restroom and stood in front of the sink, staring at herself in the mirror.
Gah, mom if you were here what would you do? What do I do?
Turning on the sink, she splashed her face with water and sighed as she dried it off. The burning sensation within herself only seemed to diminish slightly.
It really feels like I’m walking with my heart on fire.
Her mind raced with the thought of Weiss and her pressed up against one another. Yang remembered the way Weiss’s lips looked, how she seemed to tremble under the pressure of Yang - a blush filling the image of not only Weiss but Yang as she seemed to stare at her own reflection.
W-What are these thoughts?
And why do I like them so much?!
February 14th, 20[xx]
The break had passed as had the beginning of the second semester. Weiss and Yang were as close as ever. But Yang couldn’t help but notice these growing feelings within her. Feelings that she couldn’t avoid, but why would she want to when they made her feel so good.
Every day she woke up with the intention of seeing Weiss. But parts of her still didn’t know what that meant. She herself, couldn’t see that she was in denial.
To make matters more complicated it was Valentines day. This day was all about love and Yang had the urge to learn a little bit more.
But today, Yang felt compelled to look for a good source of advice and who better to give advice than none other than Blake Belladonna? Her long time best friend and basically second sister.
“Blake, I need some advice.”
“At 7 am? Did you have some weird prophetic dream again?”
Yang furrowed her brows, “What, no. Just listen...this is the most important question I’ll ever ask you.”
Blake looked at her suspiciously, the two were sitting the cafeteria waiting for classes to start - everyone else seemed to be groggily walking along on this love-filled day.
“Okay, so for context let’s just say that during certain times I get these feelings that I can’t really explain. It’s with this one specific person and I can’t make heads or tails of it. You know, it feels really good and I just can’t stop thinking about them and I just want to be with them -”
“Yang, get to the point. It’s too early in the morning for my attention span to be fully here.”
“Oh, right. Anyways, what I’m trying to say is I really like these feelings and I don’t want them to go away with this person but I just don’t have a name for it yet.” Yang seemed to look over her own hands, she seemed to be fiddling a lot more than she had remembered.
Blake seemed to look at Yang as if she was the dumbest person to walk the planet.
“Uh, Blake?”
Blake smirked, “Holy shit, Yang. You’re in love!”
“What?!”
No, what? That can’t be right. But my heart says otherwise. Ack! Brain, what are you doing to me?
“Oh my gosh, is it Weiss? You’re in love with Weiss, aren’t you?” Blake seemed to be on the edge of her seat leaning over the table now wide-awake.
Yang’s heart seemed to beat a mile per second. A burning sensation filling her entire being. “A-aah… keep your voice down!”
Huh? No. Yes. Wait. Weiss? Oh gosh. She’s not...Blake isn’t wrong. I really do like Weiss...and I like liking Weiss! Is that wrong? But am I also that obvious? Does Weiss know?
Blake smirked, “Well, that’s interesting.” she returned to being her usual calm and collected self “I’m glad you’ve found something other than your studies and sister you can focus on.” she eyed Yang with a devilish look about her.
“T-that’s not bad, is it? Liking girls, I mean?”
Everything I thought I knew about me is turned upside down. But honestly, I love finding out new things about me. All these sensations and feelings are starting to make sense.
“No, not at all. Though, I know not everyone will agree. Especially…” Blake trailed off her face contorting into one of concern, “Weiss.”
Yang’s shoulders now slacked as she looked down at the empty seat next her.
That’s right. Love has to be reciprocated. I don’t even know if Weiss is interested in me like that. How does she feel? About me? About us? This could change the entire dynamic between us if I tell her. Do I do this right away? Can I really go up to someone and say “Hey! I like you a lot!” all of a sudden with no warning?
“Hey, Yang. I say go for it. The best case scenario is that you find yourself with a girlfriend. Worst case is, is that you two never really speak again.”
Yang glared, “That’s not helpful at all. Thanks.”
With a sigh Blake began again “Okay, that sounded really terrible but what I mean is if you two can’t remain friends even after a confession like that then is the friendship really worth it? Besides, I know you’re not the kind of person to go shoving your feelings and wants into everyone’s faces.”
“Blake. Every friendship is worth it. That’s it. I’ve decided, it’s Valentines Day and I’m going to ask her out.” Yang stood up banging her hands on the table, managing to startle several sleepy students.
Yang knew Weiss’s schedule only because Weiss had shared it with her. She’s be in the band room right now, practicing piano. Yang usually wasn’t the one to venture towards that area simply because she didn’t really have any classes towards that hall but she had a mission.
A mission that involved feelings that could not wait. To her it was like ripping a band-aid off and getting it over with.
But as she entered the hallway, she heard Weiss’s voice. Yang froze and made sure to not show her face. Her heart suddenly pounding and wanting to burst out of her chest.
Not now love monster! We do this her way or no way!
“A date? I mean…” Weiss’s voice could be heard saying these words, but Yang wanted none of it and turned heel to leave.
She could feel the pain of rejection already hitting her.
She’s Weiss Schnee. The prettiest girl in all of Beacon. Of course she’d be getting asked out. Why wouldn’t she? So, this is what love feels like? I love it and hate it. All of these new emotions - sometimes it’s just too much!
But there’s no way that I’m turning these feelings off.
March 1st, 20[xx]
Yang liked to pretend everything had been the same ever since. She never really delved into the ‘date’ Weiss had, in fact - Yang had practically begun to shut herself down without really ever meaning to. She didn’t want her feelings to impose on Weiss’s.
But Weiss was a lot sharper than she let off.
“Yang Xiao Long. Freeze.” Weiss had followed Yang to the nearly empty school parking lot.
Yang froze, just as she was told to do. It was hard not to resist such a demanding yet lovely voice.
“Turn around, you oaf.” Weiss now told her.
Yang turned like a puppy on command and sheepishly smiled at her, “You need something Weiss?”
“Yeah, I think I do.” she paused “I need an explanation of why you’ve been so distant with me these past few weeks.” her gorgeous eyes seemed to pierce Yang’s very soul.
I guess there’s no time like the present.
“I...I think I realized something about myself. With you.” Yang began “And, I don’t think it’s fair of me to put my feelings on you but I like you, Weiss Schnee. And not like friendship like, I mean like ‘I want to date you’ like.”
“Ya-”
“Wait, please let me finish.” Yang had shut her eyes not wanting to see Weiss’s reaction as she gathered her thoughts “I know you got asked out on Valentine's Day. I guess you could say I got jealous. But I didn’t want to inadvertently get mad or possessive of you so I decided to distance myself from you.”
Leaving my feelings out in the open is scary. But sometimes, it’s for the best.
“Are you done?” Weiss coldly asked.
Yang felt another sharp pierce through her heart. She lowered her head.
“You didn’t even consider to think how I felt about you? If you had of asked me that day, you would’ve known that I rejected him. You wouldn’t even let me mention it because you kept changing the topic!”
“What, why would you reject him?” Her head lifted up.
Weiss’s face seemed to redden as she turned away to look away from Yang. “..e..snt...o..”
“Huh?”
“HE WASN’T YOU. YOU OAF.”
Yang looked a little confused, “What does that have to do with anything?”
“Yang Xiao Long, are you really that dense?”
As if calculations were forming next to her mind, her eyes widened in an almost crazy revelation.
With a finger pointed outstretched and in an accusatory manner Yang loudly proclaimed “YOU LIKE ME?!”
Yang felt her heart pound and then settle. A huge grin overtaking her face.
Is this real?
Weiss buried her face in her hands. “And this is why I like you…” she muttered.
That’s right, I’m forgetting one last thing.
“Hey Weiss?”
Weiss popped her head up, still red in the face.
“You want to go out on a date with me?”
She chuckled, “Of course I do.”

Surprise, Surprise
Chapter One: The Idea https://archiveofourown.org/works/17664455/chapters/41661257
The Bonfire danced forty feet into the air as fireworks blossomed in the auburn sky. Cheers rang out with every graceful explosion as the people of Patch celebrated the Summer Solstice, taking the time to be merry, enjoying life and each other’s company as they made it halfway through the year. Traditions that had carried on for eons were carried on for another year as beer and wine flowed freely from giant oaken barrels. New stories were told and old stories were re-told as couples danced around the bonfire. A group of friends stood up on a small hill overlooking the festivities, all but two laughing wildly with bright smiles on their faces.
“No really. It was her first ever Solstice celebration. Summer thought she was finally old enough to go and not be overwhelmed by everything. Technically she was right, but she was too curious for her own good. Rubes wandered off while Summer and Qrow were catching up with Dad and Professor Port, and they didn’t notice. When they finally found her she was holding an empty flute and praising the “bubble water”. You’ve seen Rubes drunk as an adult, now imagine that as a six year old. They couldn’t catch her for another twenty minutes.”
“Yaaaaaaang!” Ruby groaned with embarrassment as she tried to hide her face, hitting Yang on the arm in hopes of getting her to stop. She was only met with further laughing from the small group, and a reassuring pat on her back by her girlfriend. The cheerful blonde that was tormenting her with the story of the past only smiled while taking a swig of her beer.
“My, that must have been a sight to see. How did they react to finding her the first time, and how did they find her the second time?” Winter held a small smirk, a flute of champagné in her right hand, the left arm wrapped around Yang’s waist.
“Well, they were besides themselves with worry until they did find her, following the trail of destruction. Never before had Patch seen a tiny six year old barrel over so many adults at once. When they did find her their worry turned to trying to repress laughs as she was holding onto a wig she found and was petting it like a dog. I think Qrow ended up filming it while Dad was on the ground laughing. I still remember Ruby’s angrily shouting at him ‘Why are you laughing!?’ This only caused him to laugh more and tease her.”
“Well that certainly sounds like Taiyang from the few times I’ve met him. How is he these days?” Emerald eyes sparkled with mirth as Pyrrha giggled at the misadventures of Ruby, but still patted her girlfriends back reassuringly.
“Well Winter and I are house sitting for him as he tours Vacuo with mom.” Yang couldn’t help the subtle twitch of her eye as she mentioned Raven, wand smiled with relief as Winter pulled her a little closer, feeling calm wash over her. “Apparently it’s where they went for their honeymoon, and thought it would be a good way to reconnect and try again.”
“Good for them! And I know they’ll love it there!” Sun called out as he jogged up the hill carrying wine glasses in his hands and a bottle in his tail. A little further down the hill Weiss and Emerald walked behind him hand in hand, rolling their eyes at the blonde Faunus. He passed around the glasses to those without one and expertly poured the Rosé. “I mean, what’s not to love. Sandy beaches, lots of sights to see, and gorgeous Sunny days.” He passed two glasses to Emerald and Weiss as they arrived, a goofy grin on his face. “Oh, and the sun is always out.” He gave the pair a wink as he turned back to face the rest of the group, standing by Weiss.
Everyone rolled their eyes at the pun, though Yang snorted a little with laughter, causing Winter’s and Blakes grin to grow a little wider. “Yes Sun, you certainly bring the light out. However you’re not in Vacuo, you’re here.” Weiss pinched his cheek lightly with a fond smile.
“Yeah, Patch, not Vacuo. Can’t you put a shirt on even in a public celebration?” Emerald piped up.
Sun only grinned and made a heart symbol with his tail. “Nope!”
Ruby shook her head lightly with a laugh. “You know, I remember when we first went to Vacuo on vacation after finishing our third year at Beacon Academy. Blake sprawled out on the sand and refused to move until the sun went down.”
“What? It was warm and pleasant! You know how I enjoy the warmth.” The conversation was interrupted as more fireworks launched into the sky, and they all turned their attention towards the heavens to watch the closing of the official celebrations. Colours sparked through the air in a vibrant display, before finishing with the symbols of the four kingdoms. The group all applauded the display, and soon the background noise of song and dance resumed. The official celebrations may have ended, but the people of patch would continue to party for as long as the sun was up on the longest day of the year. A cool wind flowed across the land, causing Blake to shiver. Downing the rest of her drink and passing the empty glass to Sun, she smiled warmly at the group. “Speaking of Warmth, I’m going to head back to the hotel. I’m cold and tired.”
She was met with a chorus of disappointed aw’s and fond farewells as Yang smiled fondly at her. “If you’re sure Blakey. We can catch up later. But I’m not sure why you’re leaving if you’re cold.” She gestured to herself with her thumb and winked at Blake. “”Fire’s right here Kitty Cat.” The group, by now used to the joke flirting between the two friends chuckled as they hugged Blake goodbye, but Winter didn’t miss the blush on the faunus’s cheeks, nor how her and Yang’s hug lingered longer.
“I’ll catch up with you all later. See you guys soon.” With that, she made her way down the hill and into the crowd, and soon vanished from sight. The group continued to catch up a while longer, before a loud and jaunty song began, heralded by the shrill of bagpipes. With a gasp Ruby grabbed Pyrrha’s hand and rushed off to join into the dance around the bonfire. The other three left soon after, Sun curling his tail around Weiss and his arm around Emerald as they made their way back into town. Left alone, Winter and Yang spent another ten minutes watching the festivities before making the peaceful walk back to Yang’s childhood home.
“So Snowdrift, what did you think of your first Summer Celebration in Patch?”
Winter looked at her girlfriend, marveling quietly at how the dying sun filtered through the swaying leaves to illuminate the golden locks. “It was an absolutely delightful experience Sundrop.” The pet name had never felt more appropriate on her tongue than in that moment as she beheld Yang. “It was nice to see everyone again.”
“Yeah, it’s felt like it’s been ages since I’ve seen them.”
A thought began to cross Winter’s mind as they walked for a few minutes in silence, replaying Blake’s farewell in her head. “It was especially nice to see Miss Belladonna again, wasn’t it?”
Yang smiled dreamily, and Winter couldn’t help but see a small blush form on her girlfriends sheeks. “Yeah… it was nice to see Blake again.”
Winter smirked at the response. “Should I be jealous?”
“What?” Yang looked at Winter confused and shocked, then began to ramble. “N-no! Absolutely not. You have nothing to be jealous about. I love you Winter. Blake is just my best friend. I-it’s not like I’m harbouring some sort of secret crush on her or anything.”
“Sundrop.” Yang wasn’t able to hear however as she began to talk faster, the blush on her cheeks turning a deeper shade of crimson, and beginning to spread.
“I mean i haven’t thought about kissing her and how soft her lips must be, or thinking about how when she’s reading a book and the sun hits just right she’s stunning.
“Sundrop!”
“Or think that the Bellabooty is smoking hot, and i definitely haven’t thought about both of you while trying to take a cold show-”
“Yang!” Hearing her name snapped Yang out of her downward spiral, and forced her to look Winter in the eyes. There she found only love, mixed with amusement. Taking her hand, the eldest rebel Schnee smiled kindly. “It’s ok. I’m not mad at all. If anything it’s kind of cute. It’s not healthy to keep something like this locked away though.”
Yang looked down at her feet, knowing without a shadow of doubt that her entire face was a deep red. Taking a deep breath and a long sigh, she finally looked back up at Winter. “Hey Winter…”
“Yes Yang?”
“I might have a tiny crush on Blake.”
Winter just laughed in response, gently kissing Yang. “I know love.” An idea had begun to form in the back of Winter’s mind, and she smiled in anticipation.
--------------------------------------
A few weeks later and Winter was walking along the quiet forest path from the Xiao-Long residence and into Patch. Yang was preoccupied with maintenance on her beloved bike Bumblebee, and would be busy with it most of the day, giving Winter the perfect opportunity to start putting her plans into action. Yang’s twenty fifth birthday was only a week away, and her girlfriend wanted to throw a surprise party for her.
It was a simple four part plan. Part two required Ruby to distract her cousin long enough for everyone to set up the party. The two of them had grown up together on Patch, and their relationship was closer to being siblings than cousins, and Yang could see through any attempt of Subterfuge the younger woman might attempt. Winter would have to keep her in the dark about why she had to keep the blonde distracted. Part three was setting up the party itself with the others while Yang was gone, and when she was back making sure the birthday girl had the best time of her life. Part four however was the part she was most looking forward to, and involved her own unique present for Yang. But for part four to work, part one needed to go well. Which is why she found herself waiting outside Patch’s only Tea House.
She didn’t have to wait for long before she was joined by the raven haired Faunus, who greeted her warmly and with a friendly hug. “Hello Winter.”
“Good Afternoon Blake. Thank you for agreeing to join me today.” Winter returned the hug and led Blake into the building, and to their reserved table. As they walked past the other tables Winter was glad she called a few days in advance to book, as every other table was occupied.
“Well how could I say no? I’ve been planning on visiting The Iris for a while now, but never had the chance.” As she sat down, Blake to a moment to look around The Iris. It was themed around Mistrali culture, blooming flowers hanging from the ceiling and soft calming music filtering through hidden speakers. Smiling staff bounced gracefully between the tables to ensure everyone had what they needed. “But why did you invite me instead of Weiss?”
The eldest Schnee scion allowed herself a small smile and opened up her mouth to speak, before they were interrupted by a waitress coming to their table. Moving a strand of brown hair that escaped her bun, she smiled at the two sitting. “Hello Ladies, what can I get for you?”
“Good afternoon Miss, could we get a pot of Oolong with two cups, and I’m partial for a slice of cake with it. Anything extra for you Blake?”
Blake thought for a moment and nodded, smiling up at the Waitress. “Could I get some shortbread please?”
“Of course. I’ll be back in just a few minutes with your food, and the tea will be shortly after.” Jotting down the notes, she moved away to deliver their order. Left alone again, Winter turned her attention back to Blake with a coy grin.
“I could have invited Weiss sure, and I might still on one of our weekly catch ups, but I was far more interested in talking with you.”
Blake raised a curious eyebrow in response. “Why is that?”
“Well for one, my sister doesn’t have a crush on my girlfriend.” Blake’s expression turned from one of curiosity into one of shock. Mortified, her ears laid flat against her head and she looked around, starting to stand up to leave while stammering excuses. “Blake please sit down. You can’t escape this conversation. You’re trapped by social convention.” Winter remained stoic, though that small smile still played on her lips. Biting her lip, Blake slowly sank back into her chair and took a deep breath.
“Ok... “
“So, am I right?” Winter tilted her head to the side slightly, watching Blake carefully, like a hawk evaluating its prey.
Blake nodded in response, a light blush colouring her cheeks. “Yes, I have a...slight...crush on Yang.”
“For how long, may I ask?”
“Since our second year at Beacon.” Winter nodded at this, though was a little surprised with how long Blake had kept this crush a secret. “But, I promise you Winter I don’t plan on doing anything to jeopardise your relationship. All I want is for her to be happy.”
The conversation was cut short again as the waitress returned with the cake and shortbread, as well as two cups of Oolong. “Hello again ladies, I’ll have the Teapot right with you.”
“Thank you Miss…?”
“My name is Olive.” The waitress beamed at Winter and soon departed again. Taking a long sip from her tea, Winter watched Blake hold on to her own cup and look around the Tea house nervously.
“Please Blake, I didn’t bring you hear with the purpose of lynching you. Rather, I have a proposition to make.”
Blake's ears swivelled up, and she dared to look Winter in the eye, though she waited until after Olive had returned with the teapot, and ensured that they didn’t need anything further. Once they were alone, then she dared to speak again. “What...kind of proposition?”
“As you know, Yang’s birthday is coming up next week and I want to throw a surprise party. I intend to have Ruby distract her while the rest of us set it up. All of us, bar you of course as you’ll be at our home.” Blake looked at her confused, and gestured for Winter to continue. “You will be in our bedroom, tied up with a ribbon and waiting for our return. Because your feelings are not unrequited. Yang also as a ‘small’ crush on you. And I want to give her a memorable present. What do you say?”
“I...huh.” Blake looked at her with wide eyes, a huge blush on her face as she considered the offer, sipping from her tea to better hide her expression. “So, what? One night of passion then I go back to pretending that I don’t have a crush? Just use this to get it out of our systems?”
“Not at all. We both know the heart doesn't work like that. But this will start a conversation about the heart, and we can decide where to go from there.”
Biting her lip, mulling over all the information in her head, Blake finally nodded after a few minutes. Smiling shyly at Winter, she agreed. “I didn’t expect this from today, but I’m not complaining. So, what exact details did you have in mind?

As I stated I had an Arkos/WhiteRose children in the works. These might be the final two or if anything the WhiteRose baby might be the last one. Arkos is debatable. Art belongs to Oxerry ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Leon Arc Gender: Male Age: 7 years old Species: Human Parents: Jaune and Pyrrha Arc Siblings: Keira Arc (Older Sister) Semblance: Unknown Aura color: Light Green Weapon: Unknown Personality: Leon despite what the name might lead you to believe is extremely shy and timid. A curious kid with no real sense of adventure, tends to stay close to his family and friends if necessary. He might not be the bravest young man but he is by far the kindest, tending to others needs before his own or at least he tries. Character Description: A young boy with strawberry blonde hair, His skin is a tad darker then both his parents. As a kid he is often seen wearing a Pumpkin Pete shirt, much like his father he is a big fan of Pumpkin Pete. Crush/Love Interest: Not at the moment but as he gets older he does grow a bit of a admiration and soon crush on Briar Rose. Relationship with Jaune: Jaune is someone Leon would aspire to be, his father would often speak of how clumsy and sometimes clueless he had been in his younger years and how weak he had always believed he had been and with the help of Leon’s mother Jaune had become a warrior of great skill and clever planning one Leon highly respects. Relationship with Pyrrha: Leon is the definition of a mommy’s boy. Doesn’t seem to care though, he loves his mother and isn’t afraid to show it. In his eyes his mother is a wall of comfort an protection something he has always valued. Relationship with Keira: Whenever Jaune and Pyrrha get a little busy Keira is next in line of the great protector and she takes her job as a big sister very seriously. History: TBA Fun Fact/s: None available yet. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Briar Rose Gender: Female Age: 6 years old Species: Human Parents: Weiss and Ruby Rose Siblings: Crystal Rose Semblance: Unknown Aura color: A very dark red Weapon: Unknown Personality: While she may have the blood of a schnee, Briar is the exact opposite. She can be loud, noisy and downright troublesome for her family. She is constantly looking for adventure and getting into quite a bit of trouble as she does so. All in all she’s a bit of a wild child, a hyperactive little girl with a pout that would render the most agitated of people useless. (I joke on that tiny part.) Character Description: Pale skin tone that would be nearly identical to Weiss while she mostly inherits Ruby’s looks for the most part. Her hair is a bit lighter and darkens near the top. Briar has heterochromia, as in a different set of eye color though it’s hard to spot at first she has two different sets of blue eyes. A darker shade of blue in her right eye and her left is a lighter blue. She is often seen wearing dark colors and yes she does have a cape/cloak (That she gets when she’s older and it’s different compared to her mom’s) Crush/Love Interest: Too young but as she gets older she does get a small crush upon Leon Arc whether that turns into something more is debatable. Relationship with Weiss: While you might think there relationship would be a bit rocky, Weiss has a bit of a soft spot for Briar. She gives Weiss a case of nostalgia with looking and acting so much like Ruby back when they we’re younger. Although her wild side can get on her nerves a bit but that is normal with any parent. Relationship with Ruby: Briar and Ruby have a slightly closer relationship, someone who can willingly keep up with Briar’s hyperactive attitude and sense of adventure, Ruby has a way with her and is able to tucker her out like no one else. Relationship with Crystal: These two have a relationship that most siblings have. Briar can be that annoying little sister that doesn’t understand no or refuses to leave her bigger sister in peace. They have their moments but all in all they do love each other even if Briar thinks Crystal can be annoying and whiny, turns out the feeling is mutual. History: TBA Fun Fact/s: None at the moment. (Will eventually update Keira and Crystal’s bios)

I would like to ask if you ever considered that Jaune never was in love with Pryhna . Because if look at it he seemed very surprised when she kissed and confused when she shoved him into that locker. And now he just seems guilty that he didn't sort out his feelings for her and I honestly he still likes Weiss. Thoughts?
Truthfully? Yeah I think most of it is guilt.
I mean, don’t get me wrong. He definitely saw Pyrrha as a good friend. I have no doubts they were close and that he is genuinely upset over her death. Jaune definitely cared about Pyrrha.
But did he love her? Absolutely not. Miniscule crush? That’s more probable, but it was overshadowed by his infatuation with Weiss.
Sure his crush on Weiss toned down for volume 3, but he certainly hadn’t moved directly onto Pyrrha. Hence why I say it’s possible for him to have formed and itsy, bitsy, tiny crush on her. But it wasn’t exactly prominent.
And most people want to say that he did because hey! They kissed! And look! He’s grieving! Clearly he loved her!
Well, not really? You can grieve over friends (I know that’s hard to believe since we don’t get to see anyone else grieve over Pyrrha but I promise you, everyone else isn’t exactly sunshine and rainbows over her death).
And the kiss? Pyrrha kissed him. Sure he kissed back after a bit of shock but I don’t think that was him “Hey finally the girl I love is kissing me” and more of a “hey wait this is nice” (which could be amplified by aforementioned tiny crush).
But here’s my theory on why Jaune might be feeling strongly for Pyrrha (besides obvious guilt is obvious): you ever have that moment where you realize someone likes you and you’re super flattered by it and as an automatic response you begin to see them in a more romantic light?
Like, let’s say a longtime friend who you view in a 100% platonic way confesses they like you in a not-so platonic way. And though you might not necessarily like them back, you go !!!!
And even if you still don’t share the sentiment, you may find yourself imagining situations that aren’t so platonic?
Yeah. That’s what I feel like Jaune is doing. Couple that with the guilt and grief of Pyrrha’s death and....well yeah
