She would push him out of his comfort zone to the point where he would be comfortable actually fighting back but it would all be in good fun.

Bahloo would be perfect for Masky because he's a literal bear and could just pin him down effortlessly and teach Masky some life lessons.

Tim hated being tickled as a kid cause it was always a way to "make him feel better". It was nurses and the people keeping him in the hospital that would mostly initiate it.

Then he met Brian years later and realized how much of a playful person he was. His friend was the one that made him okay with receiving that kind of treatment again.

Spent the morning on bloodborne and the evening on stardew valley... Very different states of play. In bloodborne I've got 19 in blood tinge and 23 in endurance. In stardew valley I've got a 6 in fishing and 4 in foraging.

I've started the beach farm, which is a fairly challenging one and not one I'd recommend to new players - sprinklers don't work in the sand that's 70% of the whole farm. I figured going in I'd have to change my usual methods (huge fields) in favour of, well, everything else.

Usually my main focus is on the crops, with only a small orchard and few tapped trees, one shed, one coop and barn each. Most space goes to crops and, of course, animal grass. I've never had enough grass to sustain itself no matter what fencing techniques I use, so this time I'm going to section off a full third of the farm just to let them run free and hopefully get something I don't have to keep replacing, especially once I swap to blue grass late game.

I've also dedicated the little grassy meadow area to just decoration, which isn't my usual style but I was a little overwhelmed with the size. It'll be nice. I've planned for a hut and a well, just to feel nice.

When drawing up the blueprints on the sdv planner thing I like to leave it fairly undecorated, because a) that takes ages and b) it's nice to be able to come up with the designs organically with the actual resources I have when it becomes time and not try to get it pixel perfect according to a map I drew up weeks/months ago and c) inevitably it will fall apart and I'll have to do it differently anyway. So. No idea on the details or even if everything will work out as I hope but fingers crossed!!

I don't have any hardwood on the farm, I like to use the quarry for that, so that saves space. And I've remembered to block out a space for the stable! Didn't do that last time XD. I hope I'll be able to even fence off a little pseudo field. I really need to check if trees work the way I remember, I'm hoping for a proper orchard!

Ooh and I moved the greenhouse! I normally keep it close to where it started, but man I appreciate the ability to move it around. Took it off the little island and moved it just below my house. In its place I've built a circle of obelisks! (... Eventually. Even on my main farm I haven't got the final one (dragon teeth my beloathed.) Quite proud of that.

All these buildings, but the main path runs along the very back! I hate having stuff or paths behind buildings, doesn't feel right at all. And I'm still not fully sold on where I'm putting the silos (because I'll need SO MANY to keep like 50 animals through the winter. Will need to do the maths later) but there should be space to move around.

One of my new problems was that usually I can put everything against the walls of the farm, but I can't do that now - it's all water! It'd be weird!

My favourite part is hands down the little sandy area sticking out with the return totem mouse, because I've put my fish ponds there and I'm going to put stepping stones scattered around so it's like rock pools :D.

The most important part of any sdv farm is the ability to match play progress. A patch dedicated to mystic syrup isn't much help in the first fifty hours, but you'll need space to put them on hour 60. I've got a patch ready for banana and mango trees, but for the majority of the time it's going to be more tree tappers, and maybe some seasonal forage seeds. The slime hutch is conveniently placed to leave empty, but if any of my other areas don't work the over flow can go there. I can fit it in the meadow.

But seriously, this is such a hard farm to design! I looked up inspiration and everything was either min maxed to death and stupidly high maintenance (think random tapped trees in every spare inch and 1 block wide paths) or way too aesthetic (random beehives and twisting impractical paths with long grass and stray fence posts EVERYWHERE and a plaza dedicated to the golden clock). A couple even had sprinklers in the sand, like way to show that you made it purely in the editor and haven't so much as looked at it in game.

But overall I'm really excited!! I've played a few other farms, but this is the project following in the footsteps of my year 5 wilderness farm. I feel like I've got a lot more experience and understanding of the game to bring to the table, especially late game stuff now I can't be spoiled, and I'm ready to tackle this challenge.

Right now I’m most heavily focused on a character study type fic cataloging different moments with Sylvie adapting to her McDonald’s life but specifically looking at her relationship with Jack, I think she would have such a great big sister vibe and they could learn a lot from each other 🥹

“Good job today, Sylvie,” Jack says, his lopsided smile clear even before Sylvie glances his way. He’s always got compliments and kindness at the ready, and he’s young and gentle enough that they’re always believable.

“Thanks, Jack,” she feels a smile curl onto her face. She still, even after knowing Loki and Mobius and B-15, feels like she doesn’t know how to have friends or family or any genuine connections at all. But Jack is the first in a long time to feel so real to her, to feel like a relationship she can stick with, with these new more permanent circumstances and her distance from the trauma of the TVA. She doesn’t remember what it’s like to be a sister, her memories of Thor long gone beyond the occasional glimmers in her dreams, let alone what being the older sister would be like, but this is what she suspects it is. A fierce protectiveness and gentle care, the ignoring of any silly flaws or naïveté because you just care about the person. That’s what she has for Jack, ever since he took her under his wing as an employee, she’s done the same for him as just a person.

“Mind if I stay here for a bit? My ma is going to be a few more minutes.”

Sylvie just smiles softly and scoots over on the wide hood of her truck, gesturing to the empty spot.

Jack nods rather sagely as he awkwardly hoists himself on to the hood of the truck, pushing himself up with his arms and then practically throwing himself on to it.

He pants softly as he adjusts to lay on his back a foot or two away from Sylvie, giving her another boyish grin. “Hey.”

When the thrumming of violence starts ringing louder and louder in his ears—here, here, come here—he must chase it to its source, slay it, devour it whole—

Qingce is a quiet little place, and it does not deserve to be tainted by an old god’s hatred.

Tonight, it is peaceful. Crickets chirp in the terraced fields, accompanied by the murmur of water from the slowly turning mill. A half-moon hangs in the sky, bathing the terraced fields in its soft, blue-white glow. Everything is as it should be. And yet…

It feels different— strangely lighter, almost, but Xiao knows that is impossible. It must be something else.

There’s a disturbance by one of the small houses near the outskirts of the village—the chi’s doing? Xiao teleports into a tree on the hill leading down to the fields, makes sure that he is hidden, and listens. There’s a muffled thump from inside the house, and he makes out the movement of shadowy figures against the light of a lantern.

He looks back at the house. There is a blue-haired boy lying in the bed, cheeks slightly flushed, his otherwise pale face illuminated by the soft white moonlight. One skinny leg sticks out from underneath a light blanket as he sleeps, dreamlessly.

So, this is the mortal whose overflowing yang energy must have temporarily rid Xiao of his karmic debt. He looks incredibly unassuming. Xiao cannot remember another human with such an imbalance of yang, even after many centuries of serving Liyue. The condition is rare, and his involvements with mortals rarer still—he may never have met the few other bearers of this peculiar gift. It is impressive, he supposes, that someone so young could have such an effect on curses so old. It is also unlikely, he knows, that he will ever see this boy again. That would be best for both of them; even a unique constitution is far from enough to withstand the nature of Xiao’s karma, and for Xiao, this brief respite has already been enough.

If it is fated, they will meet again.

Do you have any tips for getting rid of the fear of writing bc your scared of writing the characters out of character?

I feel like its really hindering me and I just don’t have the time to do as through of character research/analysis as I want but i still wanna write them while i still have motivation

First off, thank you for reaching out! I'm so happy to hear you've got the itch to write!

I think I'd offer three tips here --

A. Remember that fandom first and foremost should be about having fun. Authorial intent and canon characterizations do matter, because the creators are also people who (hopefully!) love the things they're writing. So I don't want to like...just say "screw that!" without any acknowledgement of their passion and intention.

But at the same time, we're all going to hone in on different things in a text, or in the case of say a manga, maybe read different things from a character's expression, etc etc. And fanfiction is transformative work. Some fics are like, "this was painstakingly researched and could slot perfectly into canon," and other fics are more like, "I know it isn't, but what if the smirk in panel 3 of page 8 in chapter 29 was Character A putting the moves on Character B*??" And both of those kinds of fic are fun, and have their place in fandom!! And fandom should be fun!!

B. Acknowledgment goes a long way. Slutty (affectionate) Fanon!Albert is a pretty well-established thing at this point, but I know we can't chapter-and-verse prove it from canon. If anything canon lends itself to him being sexually repressed (I'm going to write that someday, I swear). But slutty Albert is fun, and I enjoy writing him, so I do...but I make no bones about admitting easily and readily when I'm playing fast and loose with canon. I admit when I'm being silly, or pulling headcanons out of a hat, or just haven't reread parts of the series in so long that it's all a vague blur.

Just saying, "I'm not really trying to be canon-compliant at the moment" goes a long way towards settling down anyone who might otherwise feel compelled to correct you (if you're considering writing for us though, the Yuumori fandom overall is wonderfully chill and not at all prone to offering unsolicited criticism, so don't worry too much!)

C. It's pedantic and fussy of me, but for me personally, good grammar and punctuation and formatting goes a long way. A fic could be perfectly in character and I'd never get far enough to find out if I click it and it's all one big block of text, or uses dashes instead of quotation marks, etc. Now I'm a hypocrite here, because I use commas like the world is ending and they're every joy on earth rolled up into one last hurrah, but I excuse that because I'm writing in a Victorian setting and Victorian writers did that too. So I'm pretending it's a stylistic choice instead of a bad habit. 😂 But I think what I'm getting at here is: make your fic easy to read -- not in subject matter or word choice or anything like that, but in the most basic visual sense. Make it easy on the eyes, and people will stick around to get to know the characters as you write them, even if that's not overly canon-compliant. (Just from the format of your ask, btw, I think you're already doing well in this area. Your ask was easier to read than this response probably is.😅)

I'm a hack b/c in Night in the Woods its "At The End of Everything, You'd Hang Onto Anything" Which I thought was interesting bc the text has multiple readings on it. In that it's about people trying to restore a glorious past that is never going to return. Like. Trying to cling to an old way of life despite it hurting people. Very Porter. But also about when you have so little options in your life you'll literally cling onto anything, even if its bad for you. Very Jace

He’s taking charge for tonight, but he likes it when Porter chases him. He’s always liked it, even when it got him into trouble. Honestly, commitmentphobe jace is very @hauntedwizardmoment in my mind due to Love's never meant much to me etc etc but Porter chasing and Jace enjoying being Chased is very @iaus Epilogue for me. We're getting metatextual up in here. I love commitmentphobe Jace. I just think it's real bc hes sorcerer! No higher power no contracts no oaths no fealty to anyone! We sit around and talk abt how great inherent magic is! There's also a conversation of reference of like. Gods chasing down objects of their affection esp in greek myth. Hades kidnaps persephone. Apollo chases Daphne. (We take ourselves v seriously here on the sb pwp site ok obviously we're here to reference classics when the gay old men are evil to each other...)

He’s not the one digging up old corpses. A stretch? Like Real People Do by Hozier. Hozier's take is so tender tho... But it's not NOT there. But also like. Why was Porter digging. And what did he bury when he pulled Jace from the earth. Things to think about

He’ll stick around for as long as Porter wants him, and then some. Porter could do the same for him. / Right? / A flash of blue in the periphery of his eye, something clatters to the floor, and there’s the unmistakable sound of shattered glass. His head jerks in the direction of the noise. That gaudy motivational poster has fallen to the ground. This is also such a Fleabag moment to me. I really like the moment when they're kissing and something like falls in the church that kinda spooks them bc earlier the priest is like "i love it when he does that" about god like. Sending them a sign. To me, this is kinda a twilight shards cassandra moment, even though she's in a place where we can't really reach her. Jace is experiencing doubt, so he actually channels this weird form of divine intervention. It's about the possiblities, but also just the doubt that Porter will return the favor like he wants. And we all know how that does. But also. There's a universe where he's brave enough to ask Porter to stay. There's a universe where he isn't. There's a universe where Porter listens and he does stay. There's a universe where he does not.

NGL Epilogue is kinda the king of like weird offbeat and intimate peripheral details abt the mundane jaceporter life that paint such a picture in your mind. The Brooch turning up again is such a me kinda being and offbrand copycat of Jace cashmere sweater moment (but evil version). B/c its like. There's stuff about Jace being appearance obsessed in there, but there's also the reference of like. The moon and stars. Its an heirloom. Like. Porter is literally supplanting Jace's religious background (Galicaea and the moon) and his inherent magic lineage (Sol, the sun being a star and just the name Stardiamond). He's denying both of his parents upbringings (yes my Sol heritage or sol worshipper father n galicaean elf mother for jace truthrism is so real. He just seems like the type of guy who was in the TRENCHES over the evangelical / protestant vs catholic thing, but Fantasy Edition. Which is why Cassandra would fix him but that's for another time). & the desire to be covered up implies a whole thing about modesty in a religious sense. Or at the very least decorum & the heirloom is tradition. The Cashmere sweater thing is still rattling around in my mind tho. Wish it was me

"Oh / I pity you" - this is so strange but i can't stop thinking abt the way Viola says "I pity you" to Olivia in twelfth night. ("that's a degree to love" "Not a grise. Tis a vulgar proof we pity enemies" something like that). Like. There's something about Olivia loving Viola for something she's not, isn't it? Loving and looking past. Pity not being love. We even pity enemies. And like. Jace can even pity someone who has hurt him so badly bc i think he sees how nakedly pathetic some of this is. but also. Of course he pities him. They're the same. But also. On some level I think when Porter says he doesn't want to be left, this is his fear as a man but also his fear as a god talking.

“I’d miss you too much, Starshine." “I’d come back, you know. I'm Kept” Obviously there's a whole Persephades n Hadestown vibe. the whole "youre early" "I missed you" thing. The connection between missing someone so much that death is transcended or brought on, or missing someone who is always a plane away. Porter is here, Jace goes to the infernal realm and comes back (and b/c he was dropped, almost twice. It's a cycle). Porter is going to ascend, Jace is here in the mortal plane. The idea of missing someone so much that you're going to tighten the control on them, too, you hurt them, you betray them, you need to own them. And I'm kept is obviously b/c they're so persephades they're so married b/c marriage is a kind of death < 3

"But I... miss you. Ain’t that peculiar?” - another strange pull. I Think the line "I do love nothing in the world so much as you. Is not that strange?" from Much Ado so compelling and lovely and funny and just. Augh. Also the sister line "I love you with so much of my heart that none is left to protest" what if i chew glass! I just think that's so... true for them. Porter loved Jace even among his imperfections and Porter's revulsion n aspirations n need to control. Is not that strange? And Jace despite EVERYTHING is so i love you with so much of my heart that none is left to protest. He's made to love Porter. He can't even stave off the love with the rage he was made to bear. There's also something abt Porter expressing doubt I find so compelling and contradictory in its own way bc he literally wants to take the goddess of conviction's domain away.

The WHOOLLLEEE traveling into a memory thing is very Howl's Moving Castle for me. Like obviously. Especially the feeling of it being so dreamlike. But its ALSO very Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind. Like this idea of realizing the journey of being together and discovering each other and having treasured experiences that make you you is more important than getting the happily ever after.

The Pomegranate tree (but also the Poppies) in Porter's backyard flashback - obviously Persephades. Hadestown etc etc.

Stress is usually a big factor towards any disagreement that may occur between the two of you, if work is busy and your brain is hectic, that’s usually when you’ll get short with one another. Luckily for you both, you know the signs of when the other person is stressed and so when the comments get a little harsher than usual, it doesn’t take long for you to pick up on the fact that the other is getting stressed.

Almost as soon as she met you, Jennie knew that you were going to be someone important for her, your friendship just seemed to fall into place straight away. Neither of you see the big deal of going out when you hang out, preferring to stick inside and out of the way. The two of you had a habit of finishing each other’s sentences as you knew exactly what they were about to say. You loved to interject and add what Jennie was going to say before she could finish her sentence, mainly because you knew that it annoyed her whenever you got in and got the answer right before her.

She loved how being with you was one of the easiest jobs in the world. She never felt any expectation with you and never felt as if she had to be anything other than just Jennie. The two of you first met when you were trainees together. A- Affection (how affectionate are they?)

He won't usually seek out or instigate affection himself, but he does absolutely love it. Any time you reach out to hold his hand, cuddle, or give him kisses, he'll never hesitate to pull you extra close and hold you tight.

B- Baby (how do they feel about kids? Would they ever want to start a family?)

(Got way too into this one it's so cute oh god I wanna write dad Draken headcanons now djjdjjdhdgd)

He's never really thought about kids too much, but he would absolutely love having one or two, and he would be such an amazing dad too. Growing up taking care of Mikey who was about as close to a child as someone can get, he's got a lot of experience with calming down temper tantrums over even the smallest little things.

He would absolutely let his kids help in his shop once they were old enough. He wouldn't let them do or go near anything too dangerous, but he would show them how all the different tools worked, and occasionally let them help with the simpler details on bikes. You'd probably have to scold him a bit though when he comes home with your kids all covered in oil and grease stains and tracking their mess into your house. 

C- Cuddles (do they like cuddling? What's their favorite cuddling position?)

If you're sitting on the couch, he loves having you sitting on his lap, leaning your head against his chest so he can rest his chin on the top of your head. Honestly in any cuddle position really, he just loves being able to hold you close to his chest. Any time you're cuddling, he'll reach up and play with your hair.

D- Dates (what's their favorite place to take you on a date?)

Really down for pretty much anything. He usually lets you pick out locations for dates, but every now and then he likes surprising you and taking you somewhere that he's picked out and thinks you'll enjoy. Going to see a movie he remembered you mentioning wanting to see, taking you out for a picnic in a nearby park, bringing you to dinner at a nice new restaurant that just opened in town, etc. As long as he's spending time with you, he's happy with anything. 

E- Emotions (how do they express emotion around you?) 

Better with his emotions around you than he is around most other people. He's not afraid to express how he's feeling around you. Smiles or tears, joy, anger, or sadness, you get to see it all. He knows that no matter what he's feeling, you'll stick with him through it, positive or negative. He trusts you and you trust him. He takes care of you and you take care of him. That's how it's always been with the two of you, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

F- Feelings (when did they first realize their feelings for you?)

Wouldn't realize what his feelings were for a while, no matter how early on he started feeling them. He considered you a very close friend for a long time before he thought of you as anything more. When those feelings began developing into something more, he would probably have to have a third party call him out on it before he realized how he truly felt and was willing to act on it. 

G- Gentle (how gentle are they with you?)

Big gentle giant.. He's so much softer with you than literally anyone else in his life it's scary. Sometimes when it's just you and him he'll seem like a completely different person than he is with others around. As big and scary as he seems to a lot of people, you're lucky enough to get only the softest sides of him that he has to offer. 

H- Holding Hands (when and where do they like holding hands? How do they hold hands?)

Just like any other form of affection, he won't instigate hand holding on his own, especially in public. He'll sometimes seek out your hand to hold at home if you're cuddling, but on dates, you usually have to grab his hand first if you want to hold it. Once you are holding hands though, he won't let go until he feels it's absolutely necessary. Holds your hand so softly sometimes that it's hard to tell he even is, but will give your hand a light squeeze from time to time to remind you that he's there.

I- Introduction (how did you first meet them? What were both your first impressions?)

You were a close friend of Emma's and met him through the Sano siblings when you were all still pretty young. You always thought he was extremely cool and loved hanging out with him any time you were able to. He thought you were very small and cute and enjoyed the attention he got from you, as it always made him feel special and gave him a confidence boost.

As you got older and started hanging out more with just the two of you and getting to know each other, it didn't take long for you both to develop feelings for each other. 

J- Jealousy (how easily do they get jealous, and how do they react?) 

Honestly not really that much of a jealous person. More just protective than jealous. He knows you love him and would never leave him for some random loser that decided they could try to flirt with you, so he feels he has no reason to have to feel jealous. However, if you seem at all uncomfortable or if someone is pushing boundaries, he isn't going to just stand by and watch. Jealous or not, he isn't going to let anyone get away with hurting you or making you uncomfortable.

K- Kisses (What are their kisses like)

Will occasionally give you quick pecks on the lips if he's in a hurry to get anywhere, but much prefers it when he has time to linger in much longer and deeper kisses. Has surprisingly soft lips, and you'll never get tired of the gentle sweet kisses he gives you that are always filled with so much love and adoration. 

L- Love (who said I love you first? How?)

He did. He took the occasion very seriously, and set up the perfect circumstances for a romantic atmosphere when he did. Probably happened either at a nice restaurant, or at a late night picnic under the stars. It caught you off guard a bit when he took both your hands in his and told you he loved you, but you were quick to squeeze his hands lightly and return the words with a wide smile. 

M- Marriage (how do they feel about marriage?)

Doesn't have any doubts about the fact that he wants to marry you. Will definitely wait until you've dated for a few years to propose, but after those few years, he's very ready to be able to call you his wife/husband. Gets such a nice ring too and you're honestly not even sure where he got all the money for it, but he did because he wants to show you just how much he loves you and how valuable you are to him. 

N- Nicknames (what do you call each other)

You usually just call him Ken or Kenny, but there's always a wide arsenal of pet names up your sleeve for any time you're feeling more goofy or romantic. Would probably go bright red if you ever called him any pet name in public. He usually just calls you by your name around others, but he also has his moments where he'll call you by a variety of cute nicknames when it's just the two of you. Love, gorgeous, baby, etc. Probably has your name set as "love of my life 💖" or something similar in his phone contacts.

O- On cloud nine (how do they act when they're in love? Is it obvious, or are they discreet about it?) 

There's not necessarily the most noticeable difference in how he acts, but there's definitely enough of a difference to be able to tell how much he cares. Any time he talks about you, he does so in such high regard, and while it's normal for him to be protective of the people he cares about, that doubles when it comes to you. He would single handedly fight an entire gang to protect you, and he doesn't care who knows that. Not at all embarrassed about how much he loves you, and no matter how many people know about it and may tease him about it, it doesn't make it any less true.

P- PDA (how do they feel about making their relationship known? How affectionate are they in public?)

Again, does not care how many people know the two of you are in a relationship. Anyone gets any ideas about using that against him, he can easily protect you, so he's not afraid of letting anyone and everyone see the two of you together. Still won't actively seek out public affection, but will hold your hand if you want him to, wrap his arm around your waist, kiss your forehead, you name it. He doesn't care what other people think as long as you know he loves you. 

Q- Quirky (random goofy relationship headcanon)

Has his own in depth skincare routine that he probably picked up on from all the girls he lived with in the brothel growing up, and definitely gets you in on it once the two of you are living together. You'll tie each other's hair up and do face masks together every night before bed. He takes care of himself in such a traditionally feminine way, but you can't even make fun of him for it because it makes his skin so soft and pretty. 

R- Romance (how romantic are they in a relationship?)

An absolute sucker for over the top stereotypical romantic shit.
