You entered the training room with your heart beating like crazy. You were a trainee at JYP Entertainment, one of the largest music labels in South Korea. This place, which was supposed to be your gateway to fulfilling your dreams, became your nightmare. You joined a band that was supposed to debut with a 4-piece lineup, but JYP said they needed someone from abroad. Your fellow members did not hide their dislike for you. Your debut was just around the corner and the pressure on you was almost palpable.

The only ray of light in this dark period was Chan. You knew him from Australia, where you grew up together. Now, as a member of a popular band, he had his problems, but he always found time to support you. He was your soulmate, and maybe even more, but you were glad you had him by your side when everyone else turned their backs on you. His words of support were like balm for your wounded soul.

The stage was lit with spotlights and the crowd of fans went wild, waiting for the next performance. It was supposed to be one of the last pre-debut shows before the grand finale. Your heart was racing and your hands were shaking as you stood backstage, trying to calm your breathing. Today was supposed to be a special day, but instead it felt like a storm was brewing.

Your moment has finally come. You stepped onto the stage, trying to focus on the lyrics of the song and the moves you had practiced. Everything was going well until your voice suddenly cracked. The audience froze and you felt as if the whole world stopped. However, you immediately managed to correct your mistake and finish the song without making a single mistake. Still, you left the stage with a heavy heart.

The cold reality was waiting for you backstage. The manager was furious, and the band members did not hide their disapproval. Words of criticism fell on you like hail.

"How could you mess up like that?", "It was a disaster!", "You let us all down!" Even the record company left no stone unturned on you. You felt like the whole world had turned against you.

But the worst came later, when you saw the comments under your fancam. The Internet was merciless.

"No talent", "She's not suitable for this industry", "She ruined the whole performance". Every word was like a blow to the heart. You couldn't believe that people could be so cruel because of just one small mistake.

You were sitting in your room, trying to control your tears, when you heard a soft knock on the door. It was Chan. He appeared like a knight on a white horse, bringing with him a ray of hope in this dark time. He sat down next to you on the bed and you instantly felt all your worries melt away.

“Hey, everything will be okay.” He said softly, placing his hand over yours. “Don't worry about the hate. You are amazing and I know you can do it.”

His words were like a warm blanket on a cold night. You felt yourself slowly starting to calm down. Chan continued, telling you about his own difficulties and how he overcame them. His stories encouraged you and you started to believe that maybe everything would actually work out.

At one point our eyes met, and a quiet, electrifying moment hung in the air. You felt your heart beat faster and the distance between you seemed to shrink. You were so close you could feel his breath on your skin. But before anything could happen, the door burst open.

It was Yumi, one of the band members. Her face was contorted with anger and her eyes flashed with lightning.

“Am I interrupting?” She asked coldly, looking at you with obvious dislike. You knew s she didn't like you, and now you had one more reason to find out.

Chan pulled away and you felt like someone had poured a bucket of cold water on you. Yumi had a crush on Chan for a long time, and seeing him close to you was unbearable for her.

"NO." Chan replied, getting out of bed. “We just talked.”

Yumi looked at you with contempt and then at Chan, as if to say she felt sorry for him for having to spend time with you. She grabbed Chan's hand and pulled him along. Chan looked at you apologetically and you were left alone with your thoughts.

"Sorry." He said quietly. “We'll spend more time together someday, I promise.” His words outraged Yumi even more.

When the door to your room closed you felt a pang in your heart again, you didn't like the fact that Chan was going with another girl. You had the feeling that you were starting to feel a little more for Chan than just friendship.

The next few days Chan was too busy with his activities and had no time for you. You tried even harder than before to recover from your mistake and your effort was not in vain. You practiced all day and night to perfect everything.

But your efforts required sacrifices. Sometimes you forgot to eat anything throughout the day, and sometimes you stayed up all night to perfect the choreography. It affected your appearance.

You walked through the halls of the studio, trying to avoid the stares of passers-by. Tiredness was visible on your face and the dark circles under your eyes were impossible to hide. Every step felt heavy, like an invisible weight was pressing down on your shoulders.

It was another day full of stress and challenges that seemed to have no end. The pressure of success, the expectations of fans, and your own ambitions were starting to overwhelm you. Just then, completely by accident, you collided with someone on the corner.

"Sorry!" You called out automatically, looking up.

It was Chan. He looked at you with concern and surprise. His eyes, usually full of energy and joy, were now full of concern.

“Y/N? What happened?" He asked, examining your face closely.

You couldn't hide your condition any longer. Not in front of him, even if you tried, he would discover everything. You sighed deeply, trying to gather your thoughts.

“It's... it's nothing, Chan. It's just... it's been a little hard lately.” You said quietly, trying to smile even though your eyes showed your true emotions.

Chan noticed how exhausted you were. Weight loss, dark circles under his eyes - all this was a signal to him that something was wrong. He couldn't ignore it.

“Doesn't look like 'nothing', Y/N.” He said softly, moving closer to you. “Can you tell me what's going on? We're friends, right?"

Your eyes met his. You fought with yourself for a while, but you finally felt like you could trust him. You needed someone to listen to you.

“It's all… the pressure, the demands… I feel like I'm losing control.” You confessed as tears began to stream down your cheeks. ”I don't know if I'm good enough, Chan. I feel shitty, like I'm just a talentless person."

His heart clenched at the sight of your tears. Without thinking, he stepped closer and gently wiped the tears from your cheek.

“You are the most talented and beautiful person I know, Y/N. Never doubt it. Everyone has their difficult moments, but that doesn't mean you're not good enough. You are amazing and special.” He said, his voice full of warmth.

You didn't know what to say. His words took you by surprise. Before you knew it, Chan leaned in and kissed you softly. It was like forgetting the whole world for a brief moment, as if only the two of you existed in that moment.

When the kiss ended, you looked at each other in silence. You saw more than just friendship in his eyes. It was a feeling you both hid, perhaps even from yourselves.

Your face turned raspberry red and you bit your lip slightly, smiling slightly. You weren't expecting it at all, but you had to admit that it felt very good.

Without heeding anything, Chan grabbed your hand and took you to his studio. He closed the door behind you and you leaned against his desk. In the blink of an eye, the boy was next to you and placed his hands on both sides of your body.

“You don't even know how long I've been waiting for this.” He croaked, moving between your legs.

Your face did not hide surprise, but you decided to give in to the feeling that was hidden somewhere deep in your soul. He leaned towards you and placed a kiss on your lips again. His movements were gentle, full of tenderness, but also careful, as if he wasn't sure if he could continue.

You wrapped your arms around his neck, letting him know he could continue. And that's when it started. His hands went to your buttocks and he pulled you closer to him. His kisses became more confident and passionate. You started to get aroused from just kissing.

You felt your body become hot and a huge knot began to form in your lower abdomen. His soft, full lips moved to your neck, leaving a wet trail behind them. A muffled moan of pleasure escaped your lips. Chan just smiled and sucked on one of your collarbones, leaving a raspberry mark.

The pleasure that came from it was unbearable and a quite loud moan escaped your lips.

“Don't do that, I won't be able to stop myself. “ Chan whispered, lightly biting your earlobe.

A pleasant shiver ran down your spine and your cheeks turned red again. Chan was about to kiss you a second time when you suddenly heard someone calling his name from the hall. You quickly pulled away from each other and laughed awkwardly when your eyes met.

“I have to go, beautiful, but I'll see you soon. Let it remain our sweet secret. “ He kissed you tenderly on the cheek before leaving the studio.

You waited for a moment, rejoicing like a child, and you also left the room and went straight home. The amount of emotions was too great to stay in this place for even a few more minutes.

When you got home you couldn't believe what happened today. You didn't expect that things would turn out this way and that you would have such a relationship with Chan. Your best friend, your childhood soulmate. Under the influence of high emotions and constant thoughts about this situation, you couldn't focus on anything at all and you didn't do anything productive for the rest of the day.

Finally at night, when your emotions calmed down a bit and you were able to function normally, you laid in your bed and were about to go to sleep when you received a message. Thinking it was Chan, you grabbed your phone, but to your surprise, it was a text from Yumi. At first you ignored her, but when more and more messages started coming in, you finally decided to check what she wanted from you.

As soon as you opened the message, you froze. You couldn't believe your own eyes. You were just looking at photos of you and Chan in his studio kissing. You didn't understand where Yumi got these photos. Your mind was filled with questions you couldn't find answers to.

Without hesitation, you wrote to Yumi: "Where did you get these photos? Delete them immediately!" The reply came almost immediately: "Meet me in 30 minutes at JYP and I'll explain everything."

You threw your phone on the bed and felt a wave of panic. You didn't have time to think. You quickly grabbed your coat and ran out of the apartment. The rain started to fall harder, but you didn't pay attention to it. You had to get to JYP, you had to find out what Yumi wanted from you.

When you arrived, Yumi was waiting for you in the hall, a satisfied smile on her face. You felt the blood rush to your head.

“What does that mean, Yumi?” You burst out, barely holding back your tears. "Why are you doing this?"

Yumi shrugged as if it was all just harmless fun.

“You see, Y/n, I have some plans. And you are part of them.” Her voice was cold, emotionless. “If you want me to delete these photos and not ruin your and Chan's career, you have to do something for me.”

You felt your heart sink.

"What do you want?" Yumi smiled broadly, a gleam of triumph in her eyes.

“You have to embarrass yourself on your next live. I want you to sing a song, but you need to be so out of tune in the whole song.”

You felt your world falling apart. It was degrading, after all, you didn't train so much to show this side of yourself, but you knew there was no other option. If you don't do what Yumi says, your career and Chan's will be ruined.

"I agree." You said quietly, feeling tears begin to flow down your cheeks.

For the next week, you avoided Chan as he prepared for his comeback. After all, you couldn't tell him about the situation with Yumi. However, the boy wrote to you every day, trying to comfort you as usual, even though he didn't know what was really going on. The hate from the band members and label continued to come at you, but you tried not to give up, remembering Chan's words that gave you strength.

The day of the live came and you were sitting in the dressing room, shaking with nerves. You knew it would be a nightmare. Yumi stood nearby, a satisfied smile on her face.

“Remember, Y/N, one wrong move and these photos will go out.” Yumi whispered, looking down at you.

As soon as the camera turned on, each girl began to show off their strengths. Their dancing, rapping and singing. Finally it was your turn, you took a deep breath and started singing. You deliberately mangled every note, feeling your heart break with each passing second. Your long-earned self-confidence and desire to show your best side have been forgotten. You weren't sure if you would ever get back what you had worked for so long, all you felt inside was pain.

Comments started pouring in almost immediately.

"What an embarrassment!", "Is she serious?", "It's tragic!" Yumi read them aloud, enjoying every cruel word.

You couldn't stand it. You ran out of the building, ignoring the screams of Yumi and the rest of the staff. The street was dark, the rain was pouring so hard that you could barely see where you were going. But it didn't matter. You had to run as far away as possible. Your phone was ringing, but you didn't have the strength to answer it. You were devastated, overwhelmed by the amount of negative emotions and stimuli.

Finally, unable to run any longer, you fell to your knees in a puddle, feeling the rain mix with your tears. You had nowhere to go, no one to ask for help. You were alone, in the dark, with your heart aching and your soul torn to shreds. After a while, you were so soaked that you didn't care.

Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse, suddenly your eyes were blinded by the glare of flashlights. People who recognized you started gathering around you, taking pictures of you and making fun of the condition of the "future big kpop star".

You tried to cover yourself somehow, but the number of phones being shoved in your face was too much. The whole situation led to a panic attack. The pain in your chest began to intensify and your breathing quickened significantly, preventing you from taking a full breath. You were afraid, powerless and alone.

Only the police, who were on patrol, chased away the onlookers and helped you calm down enough to go home. You entered the building, soaking wet, and locked yourself in your room, bursting into tears. You immediately grabbed your phone to check if any photos from the incident had leaked online.

You knew it was inevitable, but you still hoped for a miracle. Of course you miscalculated. The outpouring of photos and cruel entries was huge. Your name was trending on social media. To make yourself even stronger, you started reading the comments. Each subsequent one contained more and more venom. You've been scrolling through the comments for a long time, but you haven't found a single positive one.

You burst into even more tears. Under the influence of negative comments and the whole situation, your thoughts have gone very wrong. You grabbed a few cans of beer from the fridge and drank them in one gulp. The alcohol hit you very quickly. You didn't want to feel this pain anymore, you didn't want to suffer anymore.

Shaky and under the influence of alcohol, you went to the cabinet where you kept your medicines, grabbed a full bottle of painkillers and sat on the floor. The tears wouldn't stop flowing from your eyes. Still shaking, you grabbed your phone and texted Chan one word

"Sorry."

You opened the bottle of medicine and immediately poured all the pills into your mouth. They struggled down your throat, but you managed to swallow them. You grabbed your phone again and texted again

“I can't take it anymore...I love you.”

And now all you have to do is wait for the alcohol to mix with the drugs and you can finally rest.

Chan was in his studio when he received the news. At first he was surprised because he didn't understand why you were apologizing and he was about to reply to you when he received the rest of the messages. The terror shook him to his core. With a heart full of fear, he rushed to your apartment, breaking all speed limits without a second thought. In the meantime, he called an ambulance, sensing that something bad had happened.

When he got there, he was banging on the door, calling your name. However, he was met with no response. In panic, he kicked down the door and his heart broke. He saw you lying limply on the floor, with an empty medicine bottle and beer cans scattered around the room. He rushed to you, holding your head, trying to wake you up. However, it was to no avail.

“Don't die Y/n please!” He screamed through tears. He was helpless.

Fortunately, rescuers arrived moments later and took you to the hospital, where they fought for your life. Chan went with you and he was going crazy in the waiting room waiting for news from any doctor

Hours passed and still nothing was known about your condition. The only person who really knew about this whole incident was Chan, who, despite the persuasion of the guys from Stray Kids, did not want to leave the hospital. As soon as the news about Chan in the hospital spread on the Internet, there were hundreds of fans in front of the building wanting to take his photo, and the hospital security couldn't keep up with removing the intrusive fans.

Chan didn't care if they took pictures of him or talked about him, the only thing that mattered was you. The boy was angry with himself, he felt that he had let you down, he didn't notice your suffering and he wasn't with you when you needed it most.

Just as Chan was starting to lose all hope, the doctor came out and informed him about your condition.

“We managed to save her, but her parameters don't look very good. For now, she will need a lot of rest.” He said, writing something else down in the papers.

As soon as Chan heard the doctor's words, he felt a stone fall from his heart. You lived. Everything that had previously seemed to be the end of the world suddenly disappeared. Your bed slowly rolled out of the operating room and Chan immediately rushed to it, helping the nurses get you to your room. He has reserved a VIP room especially for you, so that you can have the best possible conditions. He didn't care how much money he spent - now the only thing that mattered was you.

Chan didn't leave your room even for a moment. He was still by your side, waiting for you to wake up. He ordered food to the hospital, he produced food at the hospital, he even stopped participating in Stray Kids activities just to be with you. His devotion was unwavering and his heart full of caring.

After three days, you finally woke up. The world was blurry, but the first thing you saw was Chan sleeping by your side. He was sitting in a chair with his head resting on the bed. Unable to help yourself, you smiled slightly and brushed the stray strands of hair from his forehead. The boy immediately woke up, and his face showed satisfaction. He snuggled into you and you both shed a happy tear.

Chan started to apologize to you for not being there for you, but you stopped him.

“It's not your fault,” you said quietly.

Chan confessed that he saw all the bad things that happened to you and he was very sorry that he was too busy to be there for you. You explained that it was all Yumi's fault, she took pictures of you two in the studio kissing and then blackmailed you. Chan was hurt by your words because he didn't want your career to be ruined because of him. You know, ‘Oh, this song would be perfect for a wedding,’ or ‘I love this kind of ring.’ Classic stuff.” The chat laughed along with him as he continued. “So, I decided to make it perfect. I planned everything for weeks. Took notes, made calls—man, it was like a full-time job. I wanted it to be somewhere meaningful, so I picked the spot where we had our first real date. There’s this little park with a lake, and at sunset, it’s just… unreal.” Yumi’s voice softened as he got into it, clearly reliving the moment. “I told Y/N we were going out for dinner, but I took a detour to the park. She was like, ‘What are we doing here?’ and I was trying so hard to play it cool. But then we got to the lake, and there was this little table set up with flowers and candles.” He paused for dramatic effect, grinning as the chat spammed heart emojis.

“She was totally caught off guard. I could see it in her face, but when I got down on one knee…” He rubbed the back of his neck, looking a little bashful. “And let me tell you, I don’t even remember what I said. It was some sappy shit about how she’s my best friend, my everything, all that. And then I asked her to marry me.” The chat erupted, and Yumi chuckled, reading some of the comments aloud. He laughed softly, his cheeks tinged with a light blush. “She cried. I cried. It was a mess. But she said yes, obviously.” He held up his hand again, showing off the ring. “And now we’re here. Planning a wedding and trying not to freak out about everything.”

Out of all of them, Reuben would probably be the most friendly towards them! Though this is probably to his detriment, cuz he might go up to characters like Katsumi and get his butt kicked ;0; However! I could picture him getting along well with people like Fetty and mmmaybe Akemi? Don't know her personality too well yet, so I'm not fully certain! But I think they would be friends :D Reuben might say a few hellos to Kurabe, but he'd mostly be terrified of her. I think he'd also wanna hang out with Izumi and Morimura Dee, because he's always wanted to meet other Waddle Dees! He and Bio Gale might also be friends, as they would bond over being nurses :D From what I've read about Mercury, she seems like a pretty nice person, so I think Reuben would like her too!

Dawn would also probably have pleasant interactions with most of your OCs due to her kind and reserved nature. I could see her getting along really well with Fetty :D and she might even take lessons from Kurabe for psychic magic (though her strictness might make her burst into tears from time to time ;;; Jamie and Kurabe might bump heads for this reason too; she's quite protective of Dawn.) She might hang around the limets the most due to their appearance sometimes being similar to her own (humanoid). She would also find them fascinating and would want to know more about them :D

Yumi is a different story. She might be a bit reluctant to interact at first due to her rather reclusive nature, though I'm sure if she was pushed by Reuben she would be willing to at least give a greeting. I'm not too certain on how friendships and such would play out, as it takes a pretty determined person to crack through that tough shell of hers. Maybe Kurabe would find some kind of potential in her (or somehow sense that she harbors strong light magic), though it's hard to say for sure. On the other hand, Kurabe might also find Yumi annoying with how morose she is ;;;; Perhaps she could also open up to Fettuccine, as I heard she's really good at pulling info out of people. Overall, Yumi would be mostly a bit stand-offish with everyone, but if someone is willing to push past her initial coldness, then I think they could be good friends, as she does become loyal once she trusts someone. However, I would advise Yumi not to interact with people like Dark Fetty, cuz if she finds out that she cant die...

Ackley is pretty chill, so I could picture him at least being acquainted with everyone. He'd probably end up pissing some people off though due to his sometimes careless nature (he has a habit of not taking things seriously...). For example, he'd make a joke while something serious is going on, and it might get some looks from people like Reedy. He might get along well with Mikuto though! I could picture them hanging out from time to time.

Mort.... well... This is the character I had the hardest time figuring out. He's such a wild card that it's hard to decide how he would interact with others. His NPC behavior (e.g., not speaking unless spoken to) might prevent him from making the first move to initiate interaction, so it might take your more extraverted OCs to get a conversation going. He also is mostly non-verbal, so unless a translator is nearby (or if they happen to know sign language), communication may become difficult. Though, at the same time, I could picture a lot of funny interactions happening. One scenario I had in my head was the GranEssex crew finding him on a planet and just keeping him as a little creature that they observe (kinda like in those wildlife sanctuaries) and his unit having to bargain to get him back. Reedy could also possibly end up despising him, especially due to Mort's hatred of children and his animalistic tendencies. I imagine him just kinda scolding him and Mort just sitting there like:

Mort would also be likely to be hunted by Katsumi, as he has multiple bounties on his head which are quite high, but no other bounty hunters are willing to go near him (out of fear of being ripped to shreds. His bite strength is strong enough to shatter the femur bone so be careful with this guy!).Overall, it's hard to say how Mort would interact with everyone, but he would range anywhere from local menace to lovable creature that people might be interested in studying.

okay okay, what is like... The Main Canon. the primary timeline. for Atumu? or if you don't have that, the one you explore the most often?

Oof well there was The Main Canon™ that was the longest standing on (a story that spans decades of irl time, so literal millennia of in story time, and it's...there is just too much. Atumu wasn't even a main character lmao. I have things saved under the tag Life Story™ for that. It's long long long long loong story.

That's all before I met [] with whom we made a bunch of AUs for our characters to interact because we wanted to. All those stories are now the main canon because I can't experience Atumu any other way now hah, which is kind of sad that his entire being is dedicated to a person(s) who ...has chosen to no longer be in my life.

That's why it's kind of hard for me to share the stories now (in anything but me ranting in tags) bc it almost feels disrespectful. Like half of the story is not mine to tell. And yet, it's...half of it *is* mine to tell. Anyhow.

The Main Canons:

StarTumu Teen AU - Atumu (17) meets Startop (17) in a hospital (Atumu got into a domestic violence related car accident and Startop was there for a suicide attempt). This one spans til they are nearly 30.

StarTumu Foster AU - Atumu (11) and Startop (10.5/11) meet and grow up as foster brothers. This one spans until they are in their early 20s (22-23?).

KingTumu - This starts in ANNNCIENT times (idk maybe like 800 AD or so). Atumu (like 3000 years old by now? no idea; physically appears about 27-30) is a slave and bought by a gorgon King (idk how old King is sorry at least a couple hundred years probably) who is on a Mission™ to try to save the gorgon population from human extermination. Atumu is King's travel companion through the centuries. This one spans until like 1800 AD or so.

Those are the main ones that I'll allude to bc those are the ones that have my heart in a headlock. And if I make art of things, they are likely from those 3 universes.

In the Real Primary Canon...

4. Life Story - The story mostly follows brothers Atemu, Atumu, and Yumi through wild shenanigans in life. Imagine Dr Who/Supernatural but on steroids. They're just...going through life and trying to LIVE and shit happens cuz... well just cuz things happen as the brothers are weird demi-god creatures who are essentially unaware of their pasts (they never become aware). There are interactions with other deities and multiple international governments trying to understand these boys. Yumi just wants to like...settle down and live a normal ass life. Atemu is too daft to form complex thought. Atumu has no purpose in life but to be loyal to his little brother Atemu.

anything I allude to regarding Atumu's siblings are from Life Story. The siblings are also complicated. In the StarTumu AUs, Atumu is also not aware he has siblings because he basically has no memory before age 8 (thanks suppression of traumatic memories!). Even in the beginning of Life Story (many lifetimes ago), basically none of the siblings are aware each other exist. They haven't known of each other's existence for thousands of years. They all believe themselves to be human (don't ask).

💫𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 2021💫

Year Roundup with basically no tv shows and movies but top 6 dramas (I loved them all, I couldn't pick 5 😭), non-Taylor Swift songs and Taylor Swift songs.

So starting off with in no particular order with any of these:

𝐓𝐨𝐩 6 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐬:

1. 𝐃𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐋𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐬? (2020).

I'm not usually a fan of slow-burn romance or melodrama. 2 things this drama is full of. I just fell in love with the story and the acting. I just loved this drama, like I was here for all the melodrama going on. Just had the best time watching this drama.

2. 𝐃𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 (2021).

This was such a wild ride of a drama. I wasn't expecting to love this drama as much as I did. I loved that there was a love triangle with the secondary couple.

3. 𝐌𝐲 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐆𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐡𝐨 (2021).

I loved this drama so much. Lee Hyeri is an amazing actress and her over the top reactions was hilarious. I loved Gye Sun Woo the second male lead, he grows as a character and honestly he did deserve the girl. Even the secondary couple were pretty cute, I loved practically everything about this drama.

4. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞 (2020).

This is the first and most likely the last historical drama I will watch. It was hilarious but also thoughtful and good fun to watch. I loved every second of it and loved watching it.

5. 𝐘𝐮𝐦𝐢’𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 (2021).

My plan was to wait for season 2 and just binge but I couldn't wait. I loved this drama so much. It was hilarious and the cells were honestly the best part. Yumi's growth through the whole drama was amazing. I am waiting for season 2, it couldn't come quick enough. I NEED SEASON 2.

6. 𝐃𝐚𝐥𝐢 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 (2021).

I randomly came across this drama, decided to wait for it to finish airing before I binged it. I loved this drama so much. It was so much fun and a mix of genres that worked so well. Yeah, this and DYLB have the same male lead, he just is an incredible actor kay.

𝐓𝐨𝐩 5 𝐍𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬:

1. 𝐋𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐀 ~ 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐤.

This was Lisa's first solo and it was stuck in my head for months. I loved the video and how she showed off her Thai heritage and she just had so much fun in all promotions and I really am proud of her with her solo debut, she deserves all the success it has gotten.

2. 𝐑 ~ 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐤.

Look, I know R is the name of her album, this is two songs but I can't pick one okay and I refuse to so it's being lumped as one here. I just loved both these songs and they had to be on this list.

3. 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 ~ 𝐁𝐓𝐒.

This was my first time experiencing a single release as an ARMY, I was still just getting into BTS when BE came out, literally, I am still baby Army but experiencing the release as a fan was so much fun and I just loved the different versions, the Megan thee Stallion version was amazing and the countless records this song broke, very much deserved.

4. 𝐅𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 ~ 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐧.

So I am now an Engene. The song was all over my Instagram, I don't have tiktok and I refuse to get the app but the song piqued my interest and I looked into them, watched their survival show, variety show appearances. Any and all content that was available to me. They are my babies and I love them all.

5. 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 ~ 𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐨.

This song took the world by storm and yeah nothing more to say to that. I can't even drive or been in a relationship but I loved this song. And her subsequent album, SOUR is a great album, very proud of her and I'm excited to see what Olivia does next.

𝐓𝐨𝐩 5 𝐓𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬:

Again, a great year to be a Swiftie, got the re-records of Fearless and Red. So I'm only mentioning the Vault tracks since those are new songs.

1. 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐨 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. Of course, this song was going to be in my top 5.

2. 𝐌𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐞. It was casually cruel for this song to be in the vault.

3. 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞. This is a bop and I love it so much.

4. 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫. Depressing lyrics but such a happy tune, I love this song so much.

1. Becoming an Engene, these boys are all my babies and Im so proud of all they've achieved so far and I cant wait to see the rest of their journey and how they grow and evolve as idols and people.

3. I am now in my final year of university, I am dying but it's been a struggle to even get to the final year so it's practically surreal to even be in my third year right now.

Notes on the “Cherry bomb” fic series

Stuff that I might want to remember or which might be interesting to readers.

The “Cherry bomb” series is a bunch of “SK8 the Infinity” fics about Cherry’s fangirls. It’s mostly an excuse to explore stuff from canon that I wanted to think more about, poke fun at some stuff, and inflict my silly thoughts from when I watched the show on even more people than the three friends that read my liveblog.

The series title:

From the The Runaways’ song. Half because, well, this is about Cherry’s fanclub, so I found it funny. The other half is the song itself, because part of this series’ premise is that these girls aren’t what they seem. They’re all complex and wild in their own way (come on, they’re regularly hanging out at an illegal race where everything goes), and they go to S to be something different from what they are in their daily lives.

The fic titles:

I looked at FOB’s “I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy And All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me” and vowed that every fic title would be taken from it.

Why that song? Because its title brings to mind fangirls. But the lyrics themselves are sad, angry, hurt... and I liked that too, a song with an odd title that says a lot.

The girls’ names:

When I first thought of this series, it wasn’t going to be a series. It was going to be a 5 + 1 about how Cherry’s fanclub is perpetually broke because financing the matching outfits isn’t cheap. One scene was going to be about them making a doujinshi and accidentally becoming very popular.

You know what famous mangaka started as a doujin circle? Clamp. So, in honor of that, I named all the girls after Clamp characters (Utako from “Man of Many Faces”, Yumi from “Chobits”, Fuu from “Magic Knight Rayearth”, Kotori from “X/1999″ and Misaki from “Angelic Layer”). Miyuki, from Joe’s fanclub, is named after the protagonist of “Miyuki-chan in Wonderland”.

The girls’ last names (except Misaki’s) haven’t come up in the story, but they’re all from former Clamp members.

As for Kudo? Her family name is from a “Wish” character.

Misaki’s wardrobe:

I thought it’d be funny to make one of these girls dress exclusively in Avril Lavigne merch (because of “sk8ter boi”) and, since Misaki was the first one to be described in casual clothes and the one that appears the most outside of S in the fics, she became the Avril Lavigne fan.

I took some liberties re: what type of top it was, though. I made some hoodies into t-shirts, t-shirts into tank tops, etc. I only cared for the designs.

Appearance: Sylvie has a petite but tall female body build. She has long curvy cadmium green hair and ties it up into a high pony-tail. She has ebony black eyes which they can turn into carmine red when using her half-myth abilities. Sylvie has a calm and well-mannered figure but she has a sweet personality.

Personality: Sylvie is a middle class noble which she lives in the same house district where Kiara's estate is located. Like Kiara, Cynthia and Nerine, she is a noble but is a middle class just like Cynthia.

Like Kiara and Cynthia, she too is an heiress to her family's name but is a self-taught noble, when it comes to knowledge, she takes it by guessing it correctly and has plenty of it that will impress other people, mostly her mom and aunt.

Her family runs a flower shop near the market place.

Despite through that, she just only wanted to live her life to the fullest, so she doesn't want her own noble status to get in the way.

Sylvie has a well-mannered but sweet personality, is most likely calm around the school. She has a very enchanted presence around the school which is most likely interested whenever she's around the school campus.

She holds a mysterious aura which the students couldn't help but to be curious about her. Sylvie is rather quiet but she is friendly and has a sister-like personality

If you get close to her eventually, she does have a interesting personality towards gardening and perfume making, certainly is why she loves flowers and gardening. Her smile is definitely the purest smile you'll ever see.

Like the others, Sylvie is the Head Scientist of the SIDC company and is on Lynette's team and is an active worker, she takes her job quiet seriously and won't let any distraction get to her when it comes towards cases.

Like any other Sky-myth, don't try to test her patience. When being messed with or getting pissed seriously, she doesn't mind putting you into a thorn bush or will use her thorny vines to strangle you eventually within a second. Same thing towards her loved getting hurt but even more violent or brutal than normal.

Despite being well-mannered, she hopes to help anyone to those in needed, please ignore her status and treat her like a normal companion.

The meaning of the name 'Sylvie' is a feminine given name of Latin origin, also spelled Silvia. The French form is Sylvie. The name originates from the Latin word for forest Silva and its meaning is spirit of the wood. The mythological god of the forest was associated with the figure of Silvanus. While her last name 'Vespertine' means of the evening, it's pleasant and fitting to consider the lovely word vespertine, an adjective meaning “of the evening.” The root is Latin vesper, which means “evening star”.

She's inspired by Ariel Winston, the main character who is known as the villainess in the manwha 'The Tryant's Only Perfumer'.

She dreams of owning a perfume shop with a garden one day.

The perfume she makes are either the normal perfumes or enchanted/magical perfumes with side effects. Only temporary, not permanent.

She and Brair had met before, Sylvie had met when she was visiting her homeland and they became friends. She was glad to see her again after coming to DCA.

In the past, her mother was the only born half-myth in the Slumbering Willows, she fled one night due to being mistreated and also getting sold and entered the Island of Enchantment.

In the past, she had almost died in a fire accident that was placed in the forest.

Sylvie's voice is rather sweet and relaxing but it goes low when getting angered. Which is why I chose Yumi Uchiyama to be her voice actor.

In which; Kita Shinsuke falls for his daughter’s f!kindergarten teacher.

First day of school jitters weren’t a thing in Kita’s book. There was no such thing when he was always prepared with all his supplies in his satchel and knowledge of where and what class he was in. Why was there a need to be nervous as long as you studied and prepared like usual?

It hadn’t even registered in his mind that he was nervous until he had to let go of the tiny hand curled around his index finger. There was only three times he’d ever felt nervous, his chest twisting crudely and his stomach fluttering uncomfortably with butterflies. One of which, he’d like to never have to relive.

And currently. It was scarily coming back to him like a pick up truck hurling towards him at dangerous speeds.

He almost forgot how to breathe as other parents kiss the bubbly cheeks of their own children and watch as the students stand in line as best as they can in front of their classroom.

“Papa?” the little girl asked, her large hazel eyes blinked at his strained chestnut own, cheeks full and pinch-able, and mouth wide in excitement. His grandmother had helped pull her dark hair into cute little pig tails, not taking a no for an answer when the little one threw a fit about being a big girl now.

“Kita Erina-chan?”

A breath. Then all oxygen once again left his lungs as he snapped his head up to greet his daughter’s teacher.

You stand there with a warm smile, eyes crinkled and nose slightly scrunched. A striped apron had been tied over your clothes.

He’s not even quite sure of his own reaction as he watches with deaf ears as your lips move, but all he can hear is his heart thrumming loudly in his ears. He doesn’t snap out of his stupor until he realizes you’re calling out his family name in confusion.

“Oh... I apologize...” He mutters in a fluster, scratching the back of his neck nervously. Looking around now, he’s probably one of the last parents to let go of their child, and he can’t help the heat that crawls over his cheeks.

It was unlike him to act shy like this as well.

“No worries. A lot of parents have a little reluctance on the first day of school. I mean who wouldn’t when you look at these cute little ones,” You smile down at Erina, who mirrors your expression as you hold out your hand, “Shall we go? I have a lot of fun things planned for you, Erina-chan!”

The heartbreak is unbearable when the little girl releases her hold on his index finger after a brief kiss on his forehead.

“Tell Papa see you later!” You instruct jovially to Erina, who parrots the phrase cutely, as you and the girl lead the line of kindergartners into the classroom.

Kita’s attention is divided between the absolute adorableness of his own child, and the comfortable way you had just referred to him as papa. It doesn’t even kick in that he’s so smitten with your mere appearance until he’s halfway home and realizes he didn’t catch your introduction and name during his stupor.

He forgets, however, that work needs to be done in the field, and regretfully relinquishes picking up his daughter to his grandmother - who claims the walk is nothing for her strong bones. He’d beg to differ, but kept his thoughts to himself and waited until he returned home to Erina and his granny welcoming him home with dinner.

“How was school?” He asked as he opened his arm wide to beckon her onto his lap. Bouncing, she nearly cannonballs onto his crossed legs, briefly hugging her father before kissing his cheek happily.

“It was fun!” She exclaimed, going on to excitedly recount her day. He smiled and listened carefully to her story of playing tag with the other kids, her new favorite book being the one you had read during story time, and the drawing she had made during art - which she ran all the way to her room to grab to show him.

“Oh who’s this?” Kita asks curiously as he places his pointer over what he presumed to be a woman holding the child’s hand, the other being held by a man. At least from what he could out of her block-y crayon shapes and mitten-hands and waves to indicate long hair.

“(L/n)-sensei!” Erina grins toothily.

“You really like your teacher?” A question to which she nods mirthfully to.

Yumie smiles in adoration at the child of her grandson, “She’s a very nice woman, very pretty and young... A perfect match.”

Kita’s eyes narrowed for a half second at the glint in his grandmother’s eyes. What was she trying to hint at?

In all honesty though...

You were pretty.

Ah.

Pushing aside the thought, he made a sound of mild appraisal as he distracts himself with his glass of water. His cheeks flushing in mild embarrassment.

As much as he’d hate to admit it, his grandmother was sharp and sly, she loved teasing when the moment warranted it.

She took every chance she got.

Especially after another day of work for Kita and school for Erina.

“Say Eri-chan, is (L/n)-sensei married?”

Kita choked on his water. Faking a cough to hide the mishap, before dabbing his mouth with a napkin.

“Nope!”

The look of knowing crosses his grandmother’s face, and he can only silently continue to eat his meal.

“Goodnight Eri-chan,” Kita smiles softly down at his daughter, stroking the back of his fingertips over her plump and rosy cheeks. Just like her’s. Those hazel irises that reflected her similar ones, glimmering with curiosity and mischief.

“I love you, Papa,” the young girl yawns in a sluggish manner, eyelids falling close and open as she struggles to stay awake.

Settling down beside her, he turns on his side to allow his daughter to curl against his body. Arms wrapping around her much smaller form securely.

“I love you too.”

He thought that maybe he was just attracted to you. You were a single and beautiful woman, that much was clear. That was just it though, right?

Right?

No.

He couldn’t.

He couldn’t dare to love another woman.

Yet, why did he feel so empty? Why was he looking at another woman the way he was?

He had no answer.

Why did he tend to watch as you corralled the children in a somewhat single-file line into the school building? What were these fleeting glances you both shared, a timid smile from your part, and a blush burning on his cheeks as he nods firmly to greet you silently.

Your smile was gentle. Tender and soft, just like her’s.

Crap..

This was fine.

Besides, Erina never expressed a curiosity for her absence of a mother. Why should she, when she had a mother figure like his granny?

It was fine like this. Kita didn’t need to date. He shouldn’t.

At least that was what he kept telling himself. Mother’s day had come and passed, Kita and Erina had spent the night making a mess out of the kitchen in an effort to make dinner and a cake for Yumie. He’d thought everything was fine.

“How was the mother’s day breakfast?” He asked her when he helped her set up their futon for the night.

Her smile was a little more somber this time around, unlike her usual bubbly and wild grin that lit up the world. This one felt sad and he wanted to know why.

“It was good!”

“Want to tell me about it? Why do you look so sad?”

Her gaze fell to her hands, just as her smile did.

“Well, we ate onigiri and sandwiches and desserts that (L/n)-sensei made for us!”

“But?” He pressed slightly.

The girl clasped her fingers over the bedding. Her head tilt downward, her dark hair falling over her head like a curtain that hid her sad expression from his gaze.

“Everyone else had their mamas...”

His smile never faltered, although the pain in his chest grew.

“You don’t like granny accompanying you?”

“No!” She exclaims abruptly, “I... the other boys and girls noticed that I had only brought granny... and I felt sad. Where’s Mama? How come I’m the only one without one?”

She never did have a reason to ask. Now that she does, he’s not sure how to answer. He doesn’t want to upset her with the truth, but lying to her was no good.

“She’s not with us anymore.”

He thought that answer would suffice. Erina looked dejected at the answer but slept on it.

Perhaps a day to the park, when she doesn’t have school and he’s got a day off from working away in the farm, will mend the pieces he’s broken from revealing half the truth of her mother’s whereabouts. She didn’t deserve that kind of pain at this age. It just didn’t help her desire for a mother figure, a real one that she would call Mama.

“Oh! Kita-san?”

His heart nearly skips a beat before increasing exponentially in rhythm.

You’re standing above him, Kita sitting on the bench while watching his daughter play with the neighborhood children, grocery bags hanging from your forearms. His eyes make a mistake to examine your figure as a whole.

No apron. Just casual clothing on your day off with no need to look nice for your students. Yet, he couldn’t help but admire your natural beauty. Simply effortless.

Erina immediately notices you and comes racing over, calling your name out brightly before greeting you with a tight hug around your hips. You smile warmly at the girl, greeting her politely as she rejoins the children again.

Kita is in awe. He’d imagined this scene millions of times. Erina running into open arms, two pairs of hazel eyes gazing at one another with affection, kisses pressed to the girl’s forehead with whispered praises of her cuteness.

“Mama!” he imagined her say it dozens of times. Not out of sadness that she was different from her classmates who had mothers, but out of love for the woman who had given birth to her.

“Kita-san?”

He blinks, eyes widening a fraction before he bows his head in your direction.

“Sorry, I was very deep in my thoughts.”

Taking a seat on the bench beside him, you laugh slightly, and he can’t help but adore the sound. It brings a fluffy feeling in his chest and he can’t remember the last time he’d felt such a way, or heard her laugh.

“You’re thinking a little too hard, don’tcha think?” You say with a soft chuckle following your teasing. He doesn’t answer, but you take this into stride and direct your attention to the adorable mini Kita playing on the monkey bars.

“Eri-chan, is so cute and lovable,” You say after a brief moment passes, “You’re a lucky father, Kita-san.”

His lips quirk and you can’t help but stare, his expression nostalgic and sad.

“I am, she reminds me a lot of my wife.”

“Her mother must be a kind and gentle woman.” You comment good-naturedly.

“She was.” He says with that same, fond expression.

“A lucky woman indeed,” You chuckle, slightly envious of the woman who captured his heart. “Pardon me if I’m intruding, but does your wife work often? Eri-chan looked a little sad after our mother’s day activities.”

“Oh. I...” he trails off.

He looks slightly uncomfortable, his smile falling and you feel like you had in fact crossed a line. He’s unsure how to put the words together, but you stop him with a hand held up.

“Don’t worry about it, I apologize for pressing too far.”

Blinking, he opens his mouth, but you grant him that gentle smile of yours. He hates that it reminds him so much of her. Everything about you felt serene and soothing to be around, that darned smile of yours made him feel weak and vulnerable. He always was around her.

“Not at all, but thank you.”

You cast him a sidelong glance before standing up, looping your wrists through the loops of the plastic bags.

“Well, I suppose I should be heading home now, it was nice seeing you both outside of school.”

He’s not sure what compels him to, but he stands abruptly. The action causes you to stop and wait for him to say something, and he’s not even sure why he reacted the way he did. Warmth spreads across his cheeks, the hue noticeable to your amusement.

“Um would you like some help with your groceries?”

The question shocks both you and himself. Your eyes widen a fraction before crinkling, accompanied by that beautiful smile.

“How gentlemanly of you Kita-san,” You chuckle, “I’m okay though, the sentiment is appreciated.”

He doesn’t argue, almost feeling embarrassed by his own rashness. Erina seems to notice that you’re preparing to leave and comes running over to hug you goodbye. His stomach is turning, chest twisting, but his expression keeps a small smile as you bid your farewells.

“Thinking about (L/n)-sensei?”

A few hours later and he still can’t seem to stop thinking about you. He stiffens as his grandmother chuckles wholeheartedly. Was it really written all over his face?

The elder takes a seat beside him on the engawa, Erina already tucked away into bed in their shared room. Her warm, chocolate eyes observe the dazed look that remains on her grand son’s expression.

“It’s been five years already Shin-chan.”

He glances at her, unsure of where she was getting at suddenly.

“It has,” He agrees wearily.

“You don’t think Eri-chan asks me all the time where her mama is?”

Oh.

His jaw clenches.

“Why don’t you move on and let her go already?”

An image of her and now, you, appears in his mind. He’s far too aware of his attraction towards you. It just...

“It doesn’t feel right.”

The elder snorts at his answer.

“And why does it not? Like you’re betraying Reina’s love? For moving forward in your life? You don’t even notice how much you’re suffering by living in the past.”

He doesn’t answer and her eyes soften, placing a gentle hand over his shoulder.

“At best, Eri-chan is your living reminder of yours and Reina’s love.”

A moment. Then a sigh.

“I want you to be happy Shin-chan.”

He bites the inside of his cheek, “That doesn’t exactly entail that I have to date again Granny.”

The woman snickers, “I never said anything about dating, Shin-chan.”

The man flushes.

“No. I— Well...”

“Just admit it, you stubborn grandson of mine,” The woman jabs lightly at his arm.

“I admit nothing,” He says with a hand raking slowly over his face to hide the darkening blush.

“Then why do you get so flustered around Eri-chan’s cute teacher?”

He stands abruptly, pressing his mouth firmly into a straight line as he takes a deep breath.

“I... I’m going to get some rest, don’t stay up too late granny.”

The elder watches as he retreats back to his room and chuckles.

“What a stubborn boy. How unlike you.”

He never realized how much Erina really wished to have a mother of her own. He never thought it’d get to the point of Erina throwing a tantrum at dinner, tears welling up in her large hazel eyes.

“I hate you Papa! I wish I had Mama!”

“Erina-chan!” Yumie starts, but the young girl stands and races out of the room. Sniffling, she throws the sliding doors open and disappears into the night.

“Stay here granny, I’ll go look for her,” Kita says as he gets up, “It’s my fault for never telling her the whole truth.”

Hurriedly, he slips on his shoes and leaves the house in a rush. He’s not even sure where she’d run to, but the fear is bubbling in his chest and reaching his throat. Sweat is falling in beads over his forehead. The anxiety is growing and growing like a flame, making his breath shortened.

He couldn’t lose Erina too.

Frustration and stress is starting to overwhelm him. Two emotions he’s never had to deal with until Erina’s birth.

To his relief, however, he passes by the park where you had sat with him while he watched Erina play. He spots your crouched form underneath the flickering lights of the park lamps. The breath stuck in his constricting throat finally relents as he hurries over.

“(L/n)-san!”

You look up with a flinch, eyes wide before relaxing at his appearance as you raise a finger to your lips. He nods as you turn slightly to reveal his daughter. The girl clutches close to your front, her cheeks still moist from crying minutes prior. Her breathing has calmed and she sleeps soundly in your arms.

“Thank you,” he whispers as you adjust your hold on her to carry her properly as you walk with Kita back to his home.

“Don’t mention it, I was luckily on my way to the local conbini when I saw her run into the park.”

You glance down at the girl, those same kind eyes, and that same motherly smile. They were the same.

The journey back to his home comes to an end and you attempt to pass the child onto her father, but she stirs from her sleep and complains. He wonders if she might’ve been a mama’s girl if she was here. The thought makes his chest tighten briefly. Although, it is quite endearing to see his daughter cling to you like so.

“Sensei has to go back home, be a good girl for your papa okay?” You say as she continues to make it difficult for you to leave. The two of you share a look before she finally relents and allows Yumie to take her, still refusing to face her father.

“Just let her cool down, she’ll come around,” You say when you catch his downhearted expression.

“I suppose...” He sighs before glancing at you, “Thank you again, I couldn’t have found her if it wasn’t for you.”

“It’s no problem Kita-san,” You chuckle, “Please, I don’t mind so don’t worry about thanking me.”

Scratching the back of his neck meekly, he decides to press his luck and offers to take you home.

“O-oh no, that would be too much of a hassle, you’re home already and all...” You wave your hands in front of you but he shakes his head.

“No, I’m the one offering, how could I let a woman walk home by herself at this time of night too?”

You pout to his surprise, the expression way too cute for his heart.

“You’re a rather sly man, Kita-san.”

You finally allow him to walk you home, falling into stride alongside one another. The pace is neither too slow or hurried. One question leads to a passionate talk, on your part, about teaching children and how you adore them. There’s an unfamiliar glint in your eyes, a falter in your expression that he notices as you talk, but he chooses not to interrupt.

In turn, he talks about volleyball, but any story that had to do with high school always led back to her.

“I met my wife in high school,” He admitted meekly, gauging your expression briefly for any signs of discomfort or whatnot, but you smile at him encouragingly. “I was actually a first year when I met her, she had been a second year. She wasn’t the manager for the team or anything romantic like that, really... In fact, she was part of the home economics club.

“She loved cooking. We didn’t start dating until the year after, but she would make me bento boxes every day. It wasn’t until half a year into our relationship did I learn about her weak immune system. She constantly fell ill, and even missed much of third year that she had to be held back.

“Even then... she still managed to watch my games, although she was never able to come watch us when we went to nationals.”

You listen intently to his stories of his wife, adoring the way his face brightens at times and turns somber the next, his expression a whirlwind of nostalgia. He really loves his wife, and you feel a little jealous and guilty for feeling the way you do. It doesn’t even hit you that you’ve reached your apartment until he stops and motions to your door.

“O-oh, sorry, I... would you like to come in for some tea? As thanks for walking me home of course!” You stammer as he chuckles heartily at your fluster.

“If I’m not intruding.”

Your heart is pounding in your ears, your cheeks burning as you prep the kettle on the stove and search for two mugs. It doesn’t even feel real that he’s in your home, but he’s there when you look over your shoulder to see him seated on the floor cushion at the low table.

When the tea is ready, you settle down adjacent to him. He receives the mug gratefully, sniffing the hot liquid with an exhale of bliss at the calming aroma.

“Your wife sounds like an amazing woman,” You say after you take a sip from your own mug.

“She was,” he says cryptically, and before you question it, he beats you to the punch, “How about you? Do you have a lucky man in your life?”

You laugh. Gazing down at your ring finger dreamily.

“I did. Before at least.”

He felt a twist in his chest. Was it because you looked so sad and lonely, or the fact that there was once a man in your life.

Why should the latter even matter to him?

“Puppy love, straight out of high school. He was any girl’s dream. Intelligent and handsome. We were engaged a little ways through my studies to be an elementary teacher.” The look on your face is one of bliss, remembering your younger days, “We always talked of having a family together, we would move into a nice house with a cute pup and surrounded by our children.

“At least until I found out, I was infertile. I’d gotten pregnant finally and the baby never made it. It was a deal breaker for our relationship, he’d ended up cheating on me and lashing out on me for being the way I am.

“I spent a very long time mourning for the loss of my child and my relationship. I’d lost everything and blamed it on myself for being like this.

“I guess after a while, I was teaching and looking after these children as if they were my own, and it had healed me in its own way. I guess I finally accepted where I was, who I was. It still hurts even now, wanting nothing more than my own family, my own child, but teaching them like this makes me happy nonetheless. A lot of my old students often come visit from time to time, it makes me very happy.

“I guess even now... I don’t try to look for a partner out of fear that I won’t be enough due to my condition.”

Your eyes gloss over and he wants to reach over and wipe your tears away, but he keeps himself seated as you smile down at your left hand.

“That’s not true,” he says, “Any man would be lucky to love and be loved by you (L/n)-san.”

Your cheeks grow warm at the comforting words.

Maybe, just maybe, you thought, he could’ve been referring to himself as someone possibly capable of loving you.

“Truthfully... my wife isn’t around because she passed away. The birth had taken a toll on her weak body,” he reveals finally, eyes downcast at the liquid in his mug.

The birth of their daughter had been one of the most happiest and yet saddest moments of his life. It left him a widow and a single parent.

“I’m so sorry...” You begin but he shakes his head.

“No don’t be...”

“...So does Erina-chan...?”

“I never told her to the whole truth... I didn’t want to make her sad, but she’s constantly asking for her mother and wondering why she is different from the rest of her classmates who do. I only ever explain that mama’s not with us anymore... but I was too afraid to face the truth myself. I see much of Reina in my daughter and I’m so afraid losing her and letting go of her. I don’t want to let go of her hand too.”

He remembered that day like it was yesterday. They had been expecting the arrival of their daughter with excitement. His wife’s immune system had always been poor and he knew that very well. He just never expected the amount of strain child birth had put on her until her hand that was once holding his very firmly, let go.

“I can’t let her go, Reina... Moving on would be leaving her in the past and betraying her love.”

He bites his lip. His emotions were starting to flare at the thought of losing Erina and remembering the loss of his wife. Moving on felt too selfish. He didn’t deserve that. Moving on would be a luxury and almost felt wrong. Like he was choosing to forget Reina.

“Someone as important as Reina-san is very hard to forget, and shouldn’t be forgotten at all,” You start, choosing your words carefully while glancing at his expression every so often, in case you step on a sore spot, “In fact, it is her love that keeps you going, it is her legacy that lives within both yours and Erina-chan’s hearts. Erina-chan is the living proof of both of your love. A beautiful daughter, indeed. She must be very happy watching over you both. And I’m sure she wouldn’t want you beating yourself up over this, she’d want you to be happy Kita-san. What’s holding you back?”

“I’m afraid.”

Admittedly, Kita Shinsuke is very afraid.

You empathize with him, seeing a little bit of yourself, when you were at your lowest, in the way he slumps in his seat and glares down at his tea to keep his emotions in check.

“It’s okay to be afraid. It’s natural for us human beings. You just don’t need to rush yourself, Kita-san. Don’t let yourself bottle those kind of feelings. Acknowledge them and respect those emotions, or else you’d be ignoring the feelings that Reina-san has given you. Take all the time you need to make peace with yourself and live on for her.”

Your words are heartfelt and he appreciates it very much.

“Thank you and I’m sorry.”

“There’s nothing to be sorry for, but I think you owe Erina-chan an apology.”

He still lingers though, despite preparing to leave to head back home.

You still smile, although sadly this time. “Actually, Kita-san... I know this is sudden... but I need to get this off of my chest... I quite like you, romantically to be more precise.”

His eyes widen. The breath catching in his throat, almost as if he suddenly forgot how to breathe.

You scratch the back of your neck meekly, looking anywhere but at him, “To be honest with you, I was under the impression that you were a single father but under different circumstances...

“I was prepared to face the fact that you still loved your wife whether it be separation through divorce but never had I considered her passing; I apologize for my rudeness and over-zealousness.

“I guess what I’m trying to say, in simpler terms, is that I kind of like you Kita-san, and I.. trust me when I say that I never hoped to ever replace Reina-san’s place in your heart, because she is a very special person to both you and Erina-chan... but I cannot just overlook the way I can’t stop thinking about the charming man that comes every morning to see his, just as beautiful, daughter off to school.”

His heart skips a beat, stomach fluttering. Then it twists and he has to bite his lip. You’re looking up at him with tenderness, neither expecting him to share or reject your feelings. You look up at him with those similar eyes that hold so much kindness and patience for him. You don’t expect anything from him, if not a rejection. You had prepared yourself for it when you had realized you were starting to stare far too long at the man when he came in the mornings.

Your fellow teachers teased you for your crush, asking what you’d do if he was married. He never did have a ring on his finger so you did have some sort of hope. Perhaps you were just a little too ambitious.

He finally takes a shaky breath, unsure what to say anymore. He didn’t want to hurt you or your feelings. The conflict was evident in the swirl of emotions in his chestnut hues. Brows knitted together and teeth worrying into the plush of his bottom lip.

If it were your place, you would have kissed him and told him it was okay, there was nothing to worry over. It, however, was not your place to.

“I’m sorry... I...” He starts, unsure how to answer, but you stop him.

“I know. I didn’t tell you this to force you into anything or rush you into moving on, maybe it was just me after all, falling for you without so much as a date or a proper talk like we just had.”

“(L/n)-san...”

You shake your head, placing your hand over his mouth to quiet him. At the realization of your bold action, you retract your hand with a timid smile. Looking at him finally from under your lashes.

“You should go see your daughter Kita-san.”

How was it, that you were still able to look at him like that? Like he deserved your affections?

He leaves reluctantly. There was no arguing that, not when he’d in-explicitly rejected your feelings, but even so, his chest ached for you.

The walk back is long. He’s drowning in his own thoughts and worries, regretting his own indecisiveness and fears. This was not like him, where was the confident captain of the strong Inarizaki volleyball club?

Atsumu would definitely think the world was ending if he saw him distraught like this. One time was enough, the setter being present along with Aran at the birth of his daughter and the death of his wife.

He slips off his shoes in the foyer, greeting his grandmother who waits for him outside of his bedroom. The elder casts him a meaningful smile before opening the door for him, and closing it once he’s inside.

The miniature lump under the covers is enough to tell him of his daughter’s whereabouts. She’s wide awake as she immediately turns her back to him upon noticing his presence.

Settling into bed, he releases a soft breath.

“I’m sorry Eri-chan. Papa made you mad. Please forgive me.”

His arms reach out carefully, slipping around her middle to pull her close cradle her smaller body close to him. The hold is firm and unyielding despite her silence, afraid that she’ll let go just like Reina.

“Mama... she... she’s an angel now. She watches over us, you, me, and even granny. I’m sorry for keeping this from you.”

A moment passes before he feels her body tremble, sniffles that turn into quiet sobs. The girl turns over to clutch her father close.

“I love you Papa, no matter what!”

“I love you too,” He replies with a soft smile, relief and adoration swimming in his eyes.

Like this, they fall asleep, tired from the events of the day.

It’s the weekend the next morning and he allows the girl to sleep a little longer as he slips out of the room. Dawn has just barely broken through the night and he stretches his limbs before taking a seat on the engawa in a daze. He can’t stop thinking about you. He never could.

It had unsettled him however, that he might’ve been deluding himself into thinking he liked you. There was always the possibility that he only was attracted to you for your similarities with his wife. He didn’t want to take advantage of your feelings because of that. It wasn’t fair to you.

“Ahhh I messed up,” he mutters exasperatedly

“Messed up? I never thought I’d see the day you say such a thing, Shin-chan. You finally made up with Eri-chan though, what’s troubling you so?” Yumie asks as she takes a seat beside him.

“(L/n)-san confessed to me.”

The woman continues to watch the sun rise without waver. She must’ve expected it after all.

“And? What are you planning on doing? Does it still feel wrong? Is it something you don’t want? Shin-chan, you just need to choose what’s best for you. Both Eri-chan and I want you to be happy. Trust yourself as you always do. Where is that unwavering confidence I always saw in you back in your volleyball days?”

His eyes glimmer.

“Granny...”

“What is it that you want?” She asks again, “Why not be selfish just this once, you deserve happiness, Shin-chan.”

His grandmother’s right, and he knows it. The same thoughts continue to boggle his conscience even as a few days pass and he continues to walk Erina to school. You both steal glances at one another, but he’s still unsure of what to do.

“How’s my cute 'lil God-daughter?” Atsumu asks heartily when he comes home for the week, inviting Kita for lunch at Onigiri Miya.

“Our God-daughter,” Osamu corrects as he sets down a platter of their favorites. He smiles at their ex-captain, gesturing towards the onigiri with his hand, “Made fresh only from the best rice around of course.”

Kita chuckles and nods his head in thanks. Truthfully, there had been a whole entire chaos when word had broke out among his old volleyball club members that he was having a daughter. The boys were ecstatic about being uncles to Erina and made a whole fuss about who was to be her God-fathers. In the end, Aran and the twins had been chosen.

“No need to be salty when yer clearly not the cool uncle,” Atsumu sticks his tongue out at his brother.

“I’m sorry? Who almost broke ‘er arm when...” Osamu trails off immediately, sweat dropping down his temple at Kita’s tight-lipped smile.

“When what?”

“Nothing!” The blonde interjects with a shaky laugh, “How’ve ya been Kita-san? How’s Eri-chan and Yumie-san?”

He’d almost forgotten about his whole dilemma until then, his expression faltering as he glances down at the onigiri in his hands.

“It’s been... okay... I guess.”

The two blink at him in unison.

“You guess? Who are ya, and what have ya done with Kita-san?”

The elder shoots them a hardened look, unamused by the question.

“What’s botherin’ ya? It’s not everyday we see ya this unsure,” Osamu asks thoughtfully, remembering the days of their ever robotic captain. Robust and always confident, they had never thought they’d ever see their ex-captain downtrodden like this. At least not since Reina.

Just like in high school, when he surprised the team in a sudden spurt of emotion and teared up at being offered the title of captain, they were still never used to the sudden burst of emotions he was capable of at the birth of his daughter and the passing of his wife. The same shock remains as he lets his sadness cross over expression.

He finally relents under their pressing stares, explaining the situation revolving his attraction towards Erina’s teacher... and well, your reciprocated affections. He expressed his fears, his feelings, anything and everything that held him back.

“Is she pretty?” Atsumu grins, raising his eyebrows suggestively before yelping when Osamu smacks him upside his head.

Kita casts him a blank look, biting his lip to hold back the fond smile that crosses his expression.

“She’s very pretty.”

Osamu elbows his brother before he can open his mouth. “Kita-san, from what you said just now, she sounds like a very kind woman and honestly I believe you deserve happiness. You’re not at fault for anything, you’ve done nothing wrong, but you need to trust yourself, trust (L/n)-san, and decide what it is you want.

“I can see where you’re coming from, comparing (L/n)-san to Reina, but you need to look at her as her own person. She also deserves that much.”

The older twin nods in agreement, “It’s not everyday I get to give you advice Kita-san, but I agree with Yumie-san, you should let yourself be selfish just this once.”

“You both deserve a second chance at love.”

It’s a lazy night after finishing all of your grading for the weekend. You order takeout instead of cooking and cozy up in your sleeping clothes with a blanket and plush pillow. Perhaps a romance movie to quell the ache of your rejection.

You were just about ready to watch your selected flick when the doorbell rang. Blinking, you hadn’t expected company, other than the delivery man at least. With not much effort put into your appearance, you shrug at your unkempt hair and lack of professional clothing and answer the door.

“Hey.”

Your eyes nearly bulge out of your sockets. Kita stands tall and confident at your apartment door step, and yet there was something timid about the way his eyes glanced down at you shyly, his fingers clasped at his sides.

“Hi,” You reply immediately before feeling the heat creep up your neck. To your horror, his eyes glance down your sleeping attire and you hold out your hand to stop him. “S-sorry, I apologize for coming out looking like this... I wasn’t necessarily expecting visitors at this time.”

He blinks once, then twice, before chuckling softly. The sound is warm and fluffy, making your heart flutter effortlessly. It almost hurts knowing he didn’t reciprocate your feelings.

“No, I should apologize for showing up unannounced... but I never did quite get your number.”

Huh?

Your jaw nearly hits the floor.

“Kita-san... are you...”

“Asking for your number? Yes. I am.” He says firmly and confidently, eyes sparkling as he gazes at you with that beautiful and charming smile of his, “Maybe a date to go with it as well?”

“But... I thought... you rejected me...?”

He shook his head, “I never said I didn’t like you back, (L/n)-san. To be quite honest with you, I think you look very adorable like this.” Your fluster is a treat to his eyes as he reaches forward to take your hand in his. It’s warm and soft, and yet strong and calloused from working in the fields. “Thank you for opening my eyes. I thought about it and my own feelings and I want to stop running away and being afraid of the present and accepting my past.”

“If it’s okay with you. I’d really like to try this.”

You look genuinely surprised and touched by his sincere words, his eyes full of determination and adoration as they bore into yours.

“And by this you mean...”

The sly quirk of your glossy lips is tell-tale of your knowing of his intentions, but you like to tease him nonetheless.

He might never stop seeing her in his everyday life, but he’d come to the acceptance that you were two individual women and he would continue to love and be grateful to his late wife, but he decided he would move forward for his daughter’s sake.

There was no stopping the way he was falling hard for you. He adored you for who you were and that was what mattered.

“Please grant me the honor of going on a date with you.”

I uh kinda went wild on this here for some reason sorry, I didn’t know you could put this much in asks? Yakuza 1 has a pretty short plot and changing some of this stuff mostly just jumps plot forward and skips more menial tasks of trying to find info when these people can actually talk, so super drastic changes are more likely to happen down the line game wise really.

Y1 role swaps for Kiryu & Nishiki and Majima & Saejima I think are largely reliant on whether each side swaps yakuza backstories I feel, do we get a one eyed Mad Dragon of Dojima(Shimano?) who’s been to the hole, and vise versa maybe Shimano’s(Dojima’s?) Hannya who helped a certain real estate agent in the 80s? Did Nishiki do the hit and Saejima kill their boss (whomever) who grabbed Yasuko? And Majima takes the fall like Kiryu did so Saejima could try to help his sister?

Bc then I see most of the game starting out similarly (less aggressive Saejima family tho, doesn’t loose it as much as Nishiki bc he isn’t swayed that easily by people, but he’s still putting up an aggressive front in hopes it makes others leave his family alone while he tries to find his sister), maybe more helpful Kiryu in majima’s role, bc he’s always a sweetie under the surface no matter what he’s been through- even with a few screws loose and much more tired, Yasuko (Yumi/Mizuki) with Haruka existing probably (no romance with either of the boys here), if we swap Shimano and Kazama then I see Shimano playing a more assholish take on the parental Kazama role, if it’s still Kazama I can see things being very different bc he probably likes saejima better and sees majima as a more reckless and less competent (aka kiryu favoritism over Nishiki scenario) so likely he’s working with Saejima but unsure he can truely leave the clan to him bc he hasn’t revealed what happened to Yasuko and by this point the damage control might be too much of an issue to properly account for, Saejima figures Mizuki is just some third party lady that Kazama got to help with the plan bc connections. But Majima still has use in another avenues to keep people’s attention off Saejima’s parts in the plan and Shimano’s efforts to power grab, but before that conversation kicks in Kazama’s shot by probably a shimano or omi guy and then majima plays Kiryu’s part finding Haruka and trying to figure out what’s up with Saejima and where Yasuko went. Then Saejima spills the beans on his part of the plan (after a fight between the two in Serena bc of course they fight) and then stuff jumps to trying to find Kazama, delivered via Nishida playing Shinji’s parts, and that plays out similarly to original except saejima and majima both show up with Haruka to the dock and saejima gets pissed at not being told what had happened to his sister till now. (Yasuko also either is mostly unaware her brother’s looking for her, or thinks Saejima knows about her already and just hasn’t done anything about it, either way she’s not happy on how that was handled when brought into the loop bc things would have been different if they’d just told her he wasn’t trying to keep his distance and was actively looking for her) But since Shimano attacks and Kazama gets to die in their arms the two don’t really get to address any of that because Kazama just gave them bigger bombshells to deal with, Saejima’s the chairman nomination here. If shimano and Kazama are switched here then he’s unapologetic as fuck as he dies (probably not by actively protecting Haruka but just happened to be blocking her anyway, she’s an asset after all to his plans) and it’s majima for next chairman bc he was gonna manipulate him probably if he hadn’t died. Then on to the ending, jingu shoots saejima to get him out of the fight and he has to retreat with Yasuko and Haruka, much to his displeasure, and majima does the tower fights with jingu, everything’s fine until jingu comes back down during their reunion stuff and maybe mortally wounds Yasuko or maybe Saejima, but regardless he gets blown up and all three of them try to do something stupid with the bomb so it cancels each other out perhaps? And maybe they all get to live because no one lets the others sacrifice themselves bc they each wanted to do it. Neither bro wants the chairmanship regardless of nomination and dump it on Terada to dip and live as a family instead. Leaving more people alive at the end of the day (unless you really want to kill off saejima and Yasuko) and the rest of the games mostly set up the same but Haruka gets two uncles and her mom.

Date is probably there throughout the story but his role doesn’t change so I didn’t mention him, he’s just helping where he can and trying to get to the bottom of everything. Similarly Kiryu’s doing basically the same thing Majima originally did but was nicer to Haruka and didn’t even pretend he wanted to kidnap her in that situation and just says sometimes you can’t avoid orders and maybe does a half hearted fight for appearances, he’d tell Majima more of what’s going on with his boss but the knife thing still happens and he’s out for the rest of the game. Shangri la is unaffected bc nishida isn’t hiding from Saejima and can tell them where Kazama/Shimano is straight out (he was still a measure to keep an eye on Saejima but his role was mostly unneeded bc Saejima wasn’t trigger happy like Nishiki). Haruka gets nicked by the snake flower triad all the same bc the dude’s unaffected by the yakuza switches. The florist might come into play to find Haruka in that situation only basically. You basically get Saejima accompanying Majima through the plot post their bar brawl aside from a few times he has to slip away to take care of other yakuza business briefly so majima and Haruka gets to wander around and bond (and get kidnapped twice). Stardust gets its opening plot beats only really, as its unneeded after. Yasuko is much more active as Mizuki than Yumi was but I’m not sure what that actually means in terms of the plot. Nishida takes over for Saejima’s family post game here keeping them in line and preventing them from becoming the mess Nishiki’s becomes in the games, though there will be issues in the future for the family bc of certain members regardless. Reina is still running her bar and with a crush on Saejima or Majima? and friend to Yasuko. She gets to be supporting cast and doesn’t die bc there’s no reason for her to. Tho I guess you might be able to switch her and mirei park if you wanted as well in the long run. Or maybe not if you want to swap Kaoru and Mirei considering Majima/Kiryu swap, I guess it depends on the swaps. As a Nishiki/Majima swap would make Reina/Mirei swap work better.

I think I have an alt take too for if it’s based around majima being the one taking Nishiki’s place rather than Saejima, that one Majima does something similar to y4 and pretends longer in order to try and bait Saejima into killing him for the perceived betrayal of loosing track of Yasuko and everything, maybe even going as far as dying in the explosion bc his guilt, leaving Saejima and Haruka the only ones alive as Yasuko was shot by Jingu. Nishiki or Kiryu in Majima’s role wouldn’t change much plot wise but lead to different dynamics between Saejima and them especially going forward, Nishiki’s much less a punchy fight at every moment man and more shooty as the Mad Koi tho so he’d definitely be a different fight

I think too hard on these things.
