Even if her extraordinary, radiant, blazing beauty could protect her long enough to flee. Or to strike. "Pray, my lady Vivienne..." the sun-eyed vampiress' voice acquired the notes of a lullaby. Such gentle tones usually soothed the children, and what more was the noble lady before her? In a way she was even more vulnerable than the mask that Orianna played out, her secret exposed and bare, in a way that no flesh could be... No one would wonder that a Toussaint lady put the troubles of other higher than her own plight, young Vivienne could as well fall into her trap and dissolve into her arms. Truly, she meant her no harm, she desired the cursed maiden only as an ornament, a study. Not as a prey. Her blood on the snow would be such a waste... "That was the reason why I stayed at that...that...horrid, forbidding place," a little shudder, a circle of hands around her own frame, hidden deep enough in the winter lush darkness so no eye would catch that the damsel-in-distress had no shadow... "The night was approaching fast and...it was a desolate, lowly place...I would not dare to cross the mountain pass in the desolation of the shadows and snow," the flowery language, something to remind of home, to lull one even farther into the story. And, ah, Orianna knew how to spin a scary fairy-tale and keep her children hungry for more, as their hearts were beating faster with dread and delight. And wasn't the charming ataman a wandering knight from the old tale, a noble heart hidden under a ragged cloak? The glazed forest gave just the perfect backdrop, and von Everec appeared both glorious and mysterious, the ugly gore covered by the shadows, hidden from the maiden's shy eyes. Vernon, true to his old profession ( and a new skin ), cut a completely different figure. The Temerian regained his human shape and appeared by her side as noiselessly as a breath of falling snow. Orianna found a certain charm in that, and shot the wolf, the man a quick glance, bright and warm. In case he would believe her act. Two cursed men, yet how unique each one was in his own doom... Does lady Vivienne try to protect me? the sun-eyed froze, as still as the snow beneath her bare feet. Why, this trembling little bird! A part of Orianna longed to break into a dry, sharp laugh. Further into the woods, and their little drama looked more and more like a comedy. What they lacked was an eager knight errant. By the Unseen, let it all be a clever ruse. To calm a cursed bird-maiden, a tender lady she knew enough of to pick up the right voice, the right song was one thing. To keep three men from a fight was another. "Ah, my lady!" Orianna struggled gracefully to her feet and danced across the snow, careful to leave a string of footprints. But not towards brave and foolish Vivienne. Towards Olgierd von Everec, praying to the moon, to the Unseen, and the general spirit of Toussaint in the most fervent, unreasonable and respectful manner, that the ataman would play along. They had plays and ballads in the North, after all. And the plot was as old as death itself. "If not for master von Everec's sword and courage I would not have escaped alive. He spilled the blood for me, and took those lives in payment for mine. Please, fear him not...but..." At the theatric pause the crimson-haired vampiress lost the last of her strength and tried to faint gracefully into von Everec's arms.

"...but trust him as I do!" If Vernon laughs now I will lock him in the most narrow and cold kennel when we return. If the famed knight would not cut us all to pieces before that, of course.

“Lady Orianna.” She was quick to stand up on the rock she was settled and perched upon, bowing down and giving her the respect she deserved and with that, concern. A noble lady, walking within such a dark and horrid place, with such scoundrels with her as well, poor company for one so well respected and liked as well, poor company indeed.

It held her where she was to be worried for her own safety.

Why was Orianna here, and with two brutes, more beasts than anything she has ever seen.

These were not fair and true, noble knights of their land.

These where bandits, she knew the type, they were filthy, they held lust within their eyes and they seemed to be .. what if they have captured Orianna and where taking her through the forest to harm her and shame her beyond all words, it happens, and without any true knights here to offer protection what was one meant to do, and now they have found her as well, how the heart trembles and breaks at the thought that Orianna had dragged her to share her cruel and unusual fate in the dead of night.

“Are you safe, are you well, you look to be in distress, have those rogues harmed you!”

So many questions.

As her golden eyes flicked back and forth between all three of them, too much happened for her mind to piece together a story that makes any sort of sense, and yet what did it even matter, what was one meant to do. Tell the truth, that she had seen Orianna in the dead of night with monsters, beasts, poor company running through the forest under the pale moonlight, who would believe such a story and if they did. What would they ask?

“You are a long way from any tavern.” As she moved and dropped down from the rock and onto the grass, to elegantly walk across it as she looked at the odd man with her, with the scars and wound he wore, he was no knight .. he was no hero .. he was no protector of any maiden at all, he was a villain, from stories new and old, those you are told about to be scared off and avoid at all costs no matter what. “ … Von Everec … is a fallen house and a name of shame and holds no honor, he is dangerous.” As she moved quickly to cut between the woman and the man and raise her hand, sharp little claws showed and pushed him back and away to pull on her hand and hide behind her to protect her.

She could not do much, except within court, but she would not stand aside when someone else was harmed.

For now she did not look behind her to the women with her, she kept before her to ensure she was safe and shielded from harm, and she stared down this brute before her.

“He stinks of death.”

It tickles the senses she has, too much blood, it was horrid, truly horrid in every single way possible. “Be gone with you.” As she narrowed her eyes. “If you don’t leave, I’ll call upon my champion.” As she would risk everything, everything at all if needed, and she would ensure the safety of the maiden with her.

There were few people she trusted within this world, but there was one that was her champion and would protect her no matter what, like this monster or as a human, he was an honorable man like none other.

“Gregoire de Gorgon! Help us!”

Ace was in a bad mood. He’s been so since the both of you had separated from his brother Luffy and his crew a few days ago. At first, you had thought it was because of that, knowing how much Ace loved his brother and how, if the situation was a different one, he would have probably liked to stick around longer. 

You’ve been wrong. 

It was not just that Ace was in a bad mood. He seemed more distant and cold towards you. He wasn’t mean or anything, it just seemed like he was… holding back. 

The two of you got along great usually, Ace was a little bit of a flirt so he was constantly seeking your closeness, making jokes and teasing you. If he wasn’t talking himself he liked to listen to you, usually with a soft smile on his face and an attentive look in his eyes, like everything you were talking about was the most interesting thing he’s ever heard.

Now he was barely even looking at you. 

You had no idea what happened but you kept quiet, hoping that his mood would just improve on its own or that he would open up to you of his own accord and tell you what was bothering him. 

So you waited. 

It wasn’t until a few days later that the topic came up because you finally had a lead on where Blackbeard was, after weeks of searching. 

You hoped this was enough to lighten his mood but his expression just seemed to sour when you told him about your findings with a big grin.

You expected Ace to lighten up, give a thumbs up and a wide grin, maybe pat you on the shoulder and say a few words of encouragement. But instead, he met you with a cold stare, one that made the blood freeze in your veins.

You opened your mouth to ask him what was wrong but he didn’t let you. 

Instead, he clenched his jaw, and grumbled, “Let’s get this over with.”

Your face fell, grin fading completely and replaced by a twist of your lips. “What do you mean?” 

Ace turned his back to you and started packing his things together, probably wanting to get ready and going as soon as possible. “We’ll find Teach, I'll take care of him and then you’re finally rid of me.”

You gaped at him, mouth falling open in shock. “What? Ace, what the fuck?”

You felt confused and hurt he would even say something like that. Rid of him? What was that even supposed to mean?

Ace frowned, avoiding your eyes, slinging his bag over his shoulder. 

“We both know you only went with me because you promised Pops,” he told you, sounding like he struggled to keep his voice calm, “Don’t pretend.”

His words were like a slap to the face for you. For a moment you didn’t know what to say, almost losing yourself to the sinking feeling in your chest as your heart dropped to the pit in your stomach.

Did he really think that? Just because you made a promise to Whitebeard didn’t mean that…

You frowned, eyes darting over Ace’s face.

“Hold on…I never told you that,” you realized, “I never told you about the promise.”

Your eyes narrowed in suspicion, wondering how Ace even knew about this in the first place. 

Ace looked upset, disappointment and hurt flashing through his eyes as he turned to look at you again. You saw his lips jutting out in a scowl.

“Yeah, you’re right. You never told me that!” Ace bit out, clenching his jaw.

You took a step back, feeling tears gather behind your eyes at his harsh tone. 

“How would you…” Your eyes widened as realization dawned on you “Vivi told you.”

You remembered your conversation in Alabasta, how you’d opened up to her about your and Ace’s connection and the background of your travels. But why would she have gone up to Ace and told him what the two of you had talked about?

He must have seen the betrayal in your eyes because he let out a sigh. “Don’t blame her, she thought I knew.”

His face went back to looking upset, “Because why wouldn’t I? Why would you tell this to someone you just met but not me? I thought we-“

He stopped and looked away, never finishing his thought. Instead, he took a breath and said something else, “He made you promise.”

You blinked, the tears long forgotten as you caught a glance at his face. How hurt he looked. You didn’t understand what got him so upset, didn’t understand why he thought…

Did he think you wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for the promise? 

“Ace.”

He didn’t look up and with a groan you reached forward and clasped his wrist, tugging until he was forced to look at you. 

“You’re an idiot!” You yell, making him look at you with an angry look. You wanted to slap his arm for this but you just tightened your grip around his wrist. “I went with you because I wanted to. He made me promise to take care of you after I already told him I would go after you and he couldn’t stop me if he tried!” 

Ace looked taken aback by your words. He blinked down at you, disbelief still present in his gaze. 

“I want to be with you!” You continued, driving your point home.

Ace stared at you with wide eyes. And you froze. Realizing the meaning of your words you felt your entire face go red. That…no, not…

“I mean, I want to- You know, looking for Teach- Not like- We just…”

Ace’s laugh saved you from having to finish that sentence.

“You’re so red right now,” he teased, old grin back on his face as he turned his wrist in your grip and took your hand in his.

You huffed, feeling your panic die down.

“I’m with you, okay? You got that?” You asked, looking up at him with determination.

And Ace’s eyes held so much warmth and joy as he squeezed your fingers between his and told you, “Yes, you’re with me.”

Welcome back! Pick a name! I'm bad at naming things! I will respond to anything so yeah, no worries. Also OPLA really sold Zeff x Garp to a lot of people so like. I get it. I'm answering another ask RN about RSL+ASL but it's long so I'll grab this one first.

As for everyone's reactions to ASL all dating Sanji: Dragon has to come to terms that two of his sons are dating a cook on one of his son's pirate crew. He sighs so heavily about this and Garp laughs at him and explains that Sanji is Zeff's adopted kid and that makes Dragon sigh again, more heavy and drawn out and exasperated.

The Whitebeard fleet hears about it in stages, first has gotta be Marco and Teach who are laughing their asses off that Ace has to share his boyfriend with his two little brothers. Then Thatch laughs his ass off. White Beard is confused because he finds out this has been going on since childhood, which makes it make more sense but he finds out that it's Redleg's kid and Redleg let three people date his kid. That part makes no sense to him. The fact they're siblings makes it back to zero understanding. He and Ace talk about it once and that's it.

The Strawhat's find out in stages. Vivi and Chopper and the East Blue crew all know Sanji and Luffy are dating but then when Ace shows up and he hauls Sanji off and yelling at Luffy it's his turn with their boyfriend there are shocked gasps and sputtering and confused yells from everyone but Luffy who just goes 'Okay! Have fun!' and goes back to whatever he was doing. Robin, Franky, and Brook find out between Thriller Bark and Sabaody. They knew about Luffy, it's hard not to, but they hear about Ace from the other members. No one has told them about Sabo. Sanji thinks he at least has that.

Then like Marineford happens and Ace lives because of course. Fuck him dying. Sabo still has his memory but has been in the revolutionary army since like sixteen or seventeen and has his memory so he was probably there. When they ask Luffy where his crew is Luffy is crying and says he doesn't know because Kuma.

Ace joins the crew after the TS and he and Luffy are really excited to see Jimbei again and then he is introduced as Luffy and Ace's boyfriend which makes Sanji sigh and introduce himself as the cook. Dressrosa happens and Ace is happy to see Sabo who asks where Sanji is and Ace is like 'one of the other teams' and Sabo nods. When Law and everyone is resting in the cabin Sabo whines that Luffy is sleeping and Sanji isn't there and Ace excitedly tells him about Sanji firing on Big Mom. Law asks why Sabo cares that Sanji's not there and Ace and Sabo go 'he's our boyfriend, and Luffy's boyfriend.' which throws the cabin into chaos.

Meanwhile Sanji is telling Judge this isn't going to go how he thinks it'll go and when Reiju asks why as she puts the cuffs on Sanji tells them who his boyfriends are. All three of them. Everyone is staring at him. THe Vinsmokes don't care and when the rescue team, Ace, and Sabo come get him? It's a long and arduous explanation and escape. Sabo is of course and understandably weary to leave but does after a lot of reassurances and kisses and the number to the denden mushi on the Sunny. Ace never leaves Sanji's side during Wano unless Luffy is there or they're with the crew. It's very stressful for Sanji.

I just have to drop by and make a request of my own now 🥺 could I please please have some Nami hurt/comfort? I feel like she needs it so much. I was thinking of something along the lines of right after the ending of season 1, Nami has had feelings for the reader for quite some time now but was too scared to act on it, especially because she was afraid of what Arlong might do if he found out she cares about someone. And now that she's finally free of Arlong, Nami realizes that she doesn't know what to do, because she never had something real like that, someone she cares about and actually wants to do things right with. Nami thinks the reader wouldn't reciprocate her feelings, so she's basically in this state of admiring and longing from a distance, until maybe something happens and they are alone together, and the reader is being all soft and gentle with Nami (insert Nami being touch starved here because I jus know she is), and Nami gets like, all emotional 🥺 and the reader is worried and asks what's wrong, if she did something wrong; and Nami finally admits that "I'm sorry I don't know how to do this, but I like you so much"; and then just Nami getting all the hugs, kisses, love, and reassurance that she so deserves. ❤️

I'm sorry that was a little big 😭 you can change anything you want, I'd just love some angst/hurt/comfort with her. Thank you so much already. <3

The last thing Nami needed was to fall in love. Her life was too stressful and too dangerous to have any kind of relationship. Being forced to work with Arlong to buy back her village would do that to a person. But, somehow, some way, she ended up falling in love with you.

She tried to deny it. She really did. But it was impossible for her to deny being in love with someone as amazing and beautiful as you. You had somehow captured her heart in a way no one ever had, despite not even knowing each other for that long.

Guilt was mostly what she felt when she realized there was no pushing those feelings down. She felt guilty for unintentionally putting you in a risky situation. She felt guilty for not being able to deny herself of something she really wanted to keep you safe. Still, either way, there was no way she could be with you. Not with Arlong still around. Especially not while she was working with him.

There was a part of her that was worried about what you would think when you found out she was only going to betray you and the others when the time came. She only joined up with the crew to have her hands on the map of the Grand Line. If she got some money and jewels along the way, it was a bonus. There was still a tremendous amount of remorse she felt. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt you. But that was what was needed to keep you safe.

So, she revealed herself to be working with Arlong during Luffy’s fight with him at the Baratie. She couldn’t bring herself to look at you. She could already feel the look of betrayal and hurt on your face without even facing you. A pang was sent through her heart at just the thought of seeing that expression so she avoided looking at it altogether. Still, as she was walking back to Arlong’s ship, she managed to catch the smallest glimpse of you. The look you were giving her was one that would be seared into her mind for as long as she lived.

Quickly, she covered up the feelings she had let slip through onto her face. She didn’t need Arlong to be suspicious of her. That would only put you in danger if he found out about her feelings toward you.

She honestly didn’t expect to see you again after that. She thought that you and the others would walk the other way, licking their wounds, hating her for doing what she did to them. She was more than shocked when she showed up at Coco Village just to see you and the others there. Nothing could stop the panic that she felt upon seeing you there. This was too close to Arlong. You were too close to him. This would get you hurt.

So she did what she had to do. She said whatever she could to make you guys angry or sad enough to leave her alone. She put as much false hatred into her words as she could to get the point across… But you all just wouldn’t leave.

After Arlong worked with the Marines to take the gold she had been stashing, she thought that was the end. But as she lay broken on the ground, knife in her hand, wound on her shoulder where Arlong’s symbol was etched, she was met with you and Luffy. Both of you staring at her with no judgment, understanding was in your eyes. While Luffy was the first to take off to fight Arlong, you stayed behind to tend to her. You treated her wound as gently as you could and gave her all the care that she had been lacking. What a horrible time to feel as she did toward you.

To her shock, Arlong managed to be defeated by Luffy. For the first time in a long time, Nami was free from him. She could do whatever she wanted, go wherever she wanted, and speak with whoever she wanted without fear of having to leave them behind.

You’d think that with this opportunity, she would go for it with you. She would try to see where things landed and tell you how she felt. None of the sort happened. Something inside her still stopped her. The threat was no longer there so why did she hesitate?

It was fear. She was scared that you resented her for betraying the crew like she did. She was afraid that if she told you how she felt, you would laugh in her face and reject her. Nami had never felt love and care since Bellemere died. All she had been met with was manipulation and abuse. What if she put herself out there only to get hurt in the end?

Time passed and she still couldn’t bring herself to tell you how she felt. Eventually, the crew met a princess named Vivi whose country was falling apart. The crew agreed to help her. Everything started out rocky but seemed to get even worse when Nami got sick. Everyone was worried for her, but you seemed especially worried.

Nami was in and out of consciousness the whole time. But every time she would regain consciousness, you would be there, taking care of her. It was almost like she never left her side. Then, when she woke up in Dr. Kureha’s castle, she found you asleep at her bedside. That’s when she found out that you had, in fact, never left her side.

You took care of her while she was unconscious. The others had to beg you to get something to eat, to shower, or to at least sleep in your own bed. When they had to take Nami up the mountains of the Drum Island, you were one of the first ones to volunteer to come along. When they said you couldn’t come, you snuck your way with them, joining them and not listening to them when they said to go back. They got too tired of fighting with you and it was already too late at that point so they relented.

It warmed her heart to hear everything that you did for her. It made her wonder if you did actually feel something toward her. She could’ve been connecting dots that weren’t actually there, but a small part of her hoped that it was true.

So when you woke up, she took the chance. Dr. Kureha could sense that it was an intimate moment so she left you alone and had Chopper tend to the other two so you could be alone. You were thrilled to see her awake and fine, you practically tackled her in the biggest hug.

When Nami finally managed to get a word in (you fretted over her for the first few minutes, it was hard to get a word in), she spilled her feelings. She told you she didn’t know how to say it but she loved you and she has been in love with you for as long as she’s known you. No matter how much she tried to tell herself she didn’t, she couldn’t deny it.

It was silent once she was finished. She was worried that she did make up everything. That was until you leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her lips. When you pulled away, you locked eyes with her and said one thing, “I was waiting for the day you would say that.”

I was actually thinking about this when making the "opinion on different OP ships" thing! Because I was like "mmm Sanuso is my OTP but also Namivivi and tbh that's just a polycule bc I ship Nami with these two too... And Kaya needs to be there...". And now I can't stop thinking also about Namivivi x Kaya--

I mean. Nami x Kaya is just amazing and OPLA gave us SO much content I wasn't expecting but gladly accepted as canon. Because they're both from pretty different environments when it comes to money and social upbringings but they both lost their families. Nami finds comfort in money while Kaya sees it pointless if you don't have anybody to share it with. It gives both of them different perspectives of the world around them and I think their dynamic is sooo well done. Kaya is the sweetest but she fights for herself when she can and Nami might run away from danger but she will never leave alone somebody in need of help. Also, they're both pretty motherly and attached to kids and idk I think their relationship would work SO well. Adding Kaya to the Sanusona polycule is the best thing ever to me.

And Vivi x Kaya!!!!! I wasn't thinking about it until I made the post but now that I do I can't,,,, Stop picturing them,,,, They're like "yeah this is my girlfriend's girlfriend" but they'd end up getting along SO well. Once again I think they'd be so cute together and they'd support each other so much. Vivi would understand that your position/money doesn't make you who you are and Kaya would admire Vivi's strength and her story. Also, all of them here understand the loss of parents but I think that being a public figure makes the experience even worse because it comes with responsibility others besides Vivi and Kaya won't understand. Vivi is the princess who managed to travel and become a pirate for a while and see the world and I think Kaya (even if she is happy in her village and doesn't need anything else) would want a bit of that freedom too!

For now, this is like, my favorite ship, I think? But tbh it just goes attached to the whole East Blue polycule just... A bit different than how other people ship them? Usopp and Kaya are already dating when the story starts, then Sanuso and Namivivi happen separately, I like to think Usonami have something going on but it doesn't happen anything until WCI when Nami realizes her feelings for Sanji, and then when they come back, Kaya has like. A ton of people to love and I adore them. Also Sanji has something with Luffy and Luffy has something with Zoro but this isn't about them--

I've been waiting since 2015 for an explanation as to how we got from the CP9 cover story to here and now I'm even more curious since they're all involved and I feel like knowing how that happened would make their motivations a lot clearer (though maybe that's why we haven't found out yet...) so I still hope we get some answers to that somewhere along the line!

There's this one screenshot of Sengoku during Marineford saying something like 'Garp! It's your damn family again!' and that's literally what this arc is because Garp, Dragon and Luffy are all wreaking havoc in different ways at different places simultaneously.
