Some ramblings under the cut ^^

I like to believe that pre fall, Michael was actually a very happy individual. He smiled a lot and was honestly pretty charming, maybe not as much as some of his other siblings but he was a lot like the charming prince in fairy tales- daring and wild, but still followed the rules and was overall a good person. Lived up to that great prince title. Why Micheal is more carefree is because evil is nonexistent. Leading heavens army is more like tactical play fighting because concepts of hate, anger and war are yet to exist. There is no evil to fight. His opinion of Eden is a pet project, so his care for it is minimal, pre meeting Adam, and isn’t really involved in it as much has he is involved in other heavenly matters. He’s got responsibilities but all is right and just for him not to worry much.

Lucifer in heaven was more of the gloomy and reserved one. At first, he’s like Micheal, but with rejections of his ideas, he feels more shut in. With each rejected idea, it becomes harder to be cheerful. He just can’t fit into the mold like his siblings can. Michael does try and console him, but there are just things his twin doesn’t understand. His escape is Eden, where judging eyes aren’t on him for his failures.

In general, all the twins really shared was their face, but even then it was easy to tell them apart.

Post fall, their personalities shifted as they tried to cope- now with more responsibilities Micheal became more serious and stoic, putting on a brave face. Lucifer, having fallen without any restraints on his creativity, copes through his creation and trying to have fun and joy in his life- he lets lose.

In a sense they have a sort of personality swap.

When Lucifer falls, and Michael gets unstuck from a bitter and sat rut, he cuts his hair and combs it back to be like Lucifer’s. It’s like a final act of love and a sign he still thinks of his brother. That there is a part that still cares.

As for Micheal and Adam in Eden, well they’re two homies about to kiss LMAO.

Adam likes to listen to Micheal talk about training and fighting because it’s unknown to him. There is no need for such things because he doesn’t have to do it in Eden. It’s part of the reason Micheal plays down his skills when Adam praises him, for what use is fighting or judgment when all was supposedly fair and equal? The other part is that it was his intended purpose. It would just come naturally to him. Why be impressed over something that was intended to happen? Adam still sees it as impressive. He says something along the lines of ‘the birds here were made to fly, were they not? But it’s still impressive that they can. They have the ability most other animals don’t, just like you’ something corny as he says it with that Eden glow and naivety. It makes Micheal giddy though. He def punched the shit out of some soldiers by accident, dazed at the praise

This wip is loosely based on this post of mine and based on the initial outline I expect it to total out around 20k, but I have like 3 much longer fics on my list before this, so it probably won't be written any time soon, but it wouldn't leave my mind today, so!

After a serious injury on the job, Eddie takes up light duty as the temporary Instagram Manager of the LAFD and even though he's now physically healed, he's still not ready to return to active duty. The job has its perks though; namely the new guy who joined the 118 shortly after Eddie left.

“Hey Diaz, sure you don’t want in on the action instead of playing around with your camera?” Buck asked, lifting his helmet a little, probably to see Eddie better in the harsh sunlight.

He had ash smudged all over his face, giving him a ragged edge that Eddie thought fit him just a little too well. His turnout coat was open, revealing just how tight his shirt hugged his body underneath.

“And what if I prefer the camera?” Eddie asked playfully. “And I told you to call me Eddie.”

“Not until you tell me what it’s short for.” Buck grinned at him teasingly and Eddie clicked the button on his camera again, to capture the way the sun hit his laugh lines; sue him, the man was gorgeous.

Buck had this weird thing for nicknames and though Eddie found it kind of endearing, he didn’t really understand why Buck didn’t just ask the team what his name was if he wanted to know so badly — maybe it was part of some kind of game that Eddie never learned the rules for.

“You know this year’s calendar is coming up.” Eddie said, lowering his camera back down to his chest.

“Yeah? Are you the one shooting it?” Buck stepped in closer, still holding the jaws of life in his hands while everyone continued packing up behind him.

“Why? Would that make you wanna do it more or less?”

Buck chuckled lightly, before swiping a gloved finger across the tip of his nose, leaving yet another black mark there.

“I don’t know. Am I gonna be the only one taking my clothes off?” He raised his eyebrows suggestively and Eddie only had time to roll his eyes jovially before he was cut off by Hen.

“Stop riling up the poor guy and help us put these away, I’m starving!”

“I’m n-not rili—” Buck stammered, all his earlier bravado suddenly gone.

“Come on Buckaroo, it’s lunch time.” Chimney chimed in as well, walking past them and dropping his medkit into the back of the ambulance.

Buck looked back at Eddie and shrugged sheepishly. “Duty calls.”

“Yeah... I gotta upload these too.” He lifted his camera with a sigh, indicating the pictures he just took.

“Well, I hope you got my good side.” Buck smiled at him with a mischievous glint in his eyes and Eddie just grinned back at him.

As if you have a bad side, he thought to himself.

“Buck, come on!” This time it was Bobby who yelled over, so they both knew that they ran out of time.

“Coming!” Buck called back, still not taking his eyes off of Eddie. “Take care, Diaz.” He added gently before he finally turned around and jogged away, leaving Eddie standing in the middle of the road, watching as the engine and the ambulance pulled away.

“Yeah, you too, Buckley.” He mumbled to no one in particular.

introducing the four kings of furin/bofurin!

MOMOSE, the zojo king (the guy with a hood and sweater paws) we don’t know much about him yet (i hope we get more) but i just like him so he’s a favourite! so my top three are kiryuu, kaji and momose, in no particular order

tsubakino, the jikoku king (the one in the second frame)! the way the whole town just accepts them!! and their crush is treated like any other normal crush! they’re so older sibling vibe i love them so much

hiragi, the tamon king (the one in the third frame)! the dad of the group and the one who pops those stomachache pills/tablets like it’s nothing. tbf having to deal with the leader of furin, who legit yells into the broadcast mic thing, isn’t easy 😭

mizuki, the komoku king (the guy in the first frame)! nothing much is known about him either but he’s seems serious and is the strategy person of furin. also he takes off his glasses when he fights which is just really cool

also i realise i haven’t said this but the one with dual colored hair (kinda like todoroki shouto) is the main character of the manga, sakura, who’s goal is to be at the top of furin! he’s got ✨ trauma ✨ but he’s slowly learning to accept and rely on people :)) he also blushes at any kind of romance (and also when he’s shy or embarrassed), even hand holding. i don’t know how he’s gonna date people honestly

and of course, the leader/representative of furin, hajime umemiya! he’s really just like an elementary school kid, as Suo says. hes the sunshine character who you wouldn’t wanna piss off. he’s also the one who united furin with the four kings when they used to be a dog-eat-dog kind of school, so major respect to him!

(the next one contains a bit of spoiler on suo?? idk but just a warning. it’s more of a mini analysis)

a more formal introduction of suo and nirei, sakura’s vice captains and the supporting characters! nirei is good with people and collects information on people in his notebook. he’s the sunshine in the trio, and the other two are the sunshine protectors! suo is a joker, but don’t let that kind face get to you. he’s like the main instigator of most of the (harmless) shit that goes down in 1-1. he’s also mysterious with little information about him. oh and he doesn’t eat?? not in front of other people at least. i really wanna know his backstory tbh

but also:

suo. hes mostly easygoing with a smile on his face all the time. but also freaking scary when pissed off like if someone was looking at me like that i’d run and never look back. yes sakura is right, that’s not the face of someone who’s kind, not in this case. i’ll make a post psycho analysing him later

but he takes fourth on my favourite character list! then tsubakino, umemiya, nirei, hiragi, tsugeura, kusumi, suzuri, choji, togame, the twins etc. the list goes on.

point is: wind breaker is great and i highly recommend reading/watching it.

hoot, hi!!!! thank you, those are many many hearts! i'm immediately thinking of the three next parts of "the new fan" aka the fic inspired by your precious art pieces. for many hearts, i'll try to ramble about a couple of things c:

i'm having so much fun making binghe be shen qingqiu's little dressing assistant, helping him coordinate his outfits and accessories, from the guan on his head to the boots on his feet, picking his fans for him and all! there's one specific fan binghe seems to favour (i wonder which one~) and shen qingqiu finds it cute and humors him every time. this part is still in shen qingqiu's pov but ahhh my fingers itch so much to write binghe's thoughts during these scenes! it has this snippet i'm amused by (i find shen qingqiu both relatable in it, and not):

The original Shen Qingqiu had to be a magpie! Decision fatigue, have you ever heard of it? Shen Qingqiu doesn’t want that many options, please and thank you! Overwhelmed with the number of fans and hair guans and ribbons, he grabs one of each at random, then turns to the bronze mirror to actually put them on— —only to freeze when he spots Luo Binghe standing in the doorway, fingers anxiously curled on the broom handle.

parts 3 and 4 are in binghe's pov! i'm very happy of this decision because these come post-abyss. seeing shen qingqiu through luo binghe's eyes is something... and getting to write his thoughts being all over the place, full of memories and nostalgia and bittersweetness? so. good. it's in part 3, when binghe sees shen qingqiu again, that he realises he's no longer allowed any of the indulgence from his younger years 😭

Shen Qingqiu’s standing there, not as untouched by mortal affairs anymore. There’s dirt and dust and stench all around him, and Binghe spies some unevenness in his robes and in his hair. His fingers itch to smooth it out. He tightens his hand into a fist to stop the trembling.

part 4 may or may not be set post-canon 😌 it's not written yet, though

...and as a bonus i'll add one thing that's implied in the already posted first part but i'm not sure if people picked up on it. so shen qingqiu buys a jade pendant for binghe and binghe is very "!!!!!!!!" about it, right? poor overwhelmed thing, so happy and almost unable to believe that this is really happening, he's barely able to speak! but it's not just because shen qingqiu bought a gift for him and only him.

he bought him a jade pendant! or rather, he bought a jade pendant for binghe! right after the merchant advertised it to shen qingqiu as "(...) a jade pendant to gift to his beloved". shizun heard this, and among all the wares, he picked that pendant, and even put it around binghe's neck himself 😌

this won't cause any feelings to further blossom in binghe's heart, i'm sure... haha unlss...

He even has stockings to go with it, one of which he's in the process of pulling up above his knee when Nace walks in, knocking but not waiting for an answer before he opens the door.

"I'm just going to step outside," Nace breaks the silence at last. All the colour is drained from his face and he clears his throat, his mouth suddenly dry. "Hang out for a minute. Then come back in again. Cool?"

Kris can't speak, can't move, can't even nod. But when Nace leaves, he can hear him screaming profanities from outside the building.

When Nace returns, he waits for an answer after knocking.

Kris is Kris again, his cheeks a little red but in jeans and a t-shirt, hair scruffy. He's put some masculine body spray on.

The two of them go about their afternoon but there's an elephant in the room and Nace is dying to poke it.

"How long have you-?"

"Nope." Kris shuts him down.

"Where did you get-?"

"Nope." They are not talking about this.

"Do you want-"

"Nope."

"You don't even know what I was going to ask!"

Kris puts his coffee down and lets out a sigh. He speaks through gritted teeth.

"What were you going to ask, Nace?"

Something gleams in Nace's eyes.

"Do you want me to do stuff to you while you're wearing it?"

It takes all of Kris's self control just to breathe. He looks Nace in the eye and he doesn't think he's joking. He doesn't think he's making fun of him.

"I don't hear a 'nope'," Nace laughs, and that's enough.

"We're done. Get out."

"Kris, I'm sorry!" But he's still laughing.

"Out!"

Nace knows better than to push Kris too far and dutifully gathers his things, puts on his shoes. They were pretty much done for the day anyway. He tells Kris that his secret is safe, that he doesn't judge and obviously no one else ever has to find out, while Kris is practically steaming with rage and embarrassment.

Nace has just enough time to turn around as he leaves, giving Kris a wink and a "think about it" before getting the door slammed in his face.

Do you have any tips for not breaking the Oath of Devotion in BG3? (My durge is going to be a devotion paladin, and I’m trying to limit the amount of times he breaks the oath as much as possible)

Gonna be totally honest, I'm not 100% sure how I never accidentally broke my oath haha... Oath of Devotion seems pretty straight forward tho!

Oath of Devotion paladins abide by the following tenets:

Courage. Stride dauntlessly into action.

Compassion. Show clemency when prudent, and lend your arm to those in need.

Duty. Tend your responsibilities, obey just laws, and support those entrusted to your care

1. TOGGLE NON LETHAL DAMAGE!!!

If you accidentally kill civilians (or in my case from EA(???) some of the cultists?????) Then your devotion oath breaks. If you NEED to kill someone *cough* eg. Viconia because she only drops the Walking Fortress when dead dead *cough* get another party member to do it! *cough* Astarion/Shadowheart my beloved murder meow meows *cough*

2. Help Everyone

This shouldn't come as a surprise, you're going to want to offer to help anyone in need; druids, tiefs, gnomes ect ect

3. Don't steal/break "just" laws

Basically if you want to do dodgy stuff get your rogue to do it- it's what he's built for after all. I believe the 'just' laws is most likely to take effect when you are in Baldur's Gate- any pickpocketing is a no no (only from the paladin, another character doing it is fine), essentially dont do anything that could get you thrown in jail

4. Judgement

So there is a couple of quests where people will go "oh you're a paladin, tell us your judgement" which... not fun I personally hate that, but generally if you click the "paladin" dialogue responses you should be fine, of there is multiple I would assume picking the "kindest" one works best for devotion lmao

What do you think about reboot Vergil's relationship with Eva? Especially during Vergil's Downfall? Do you think Vergil would bring it up to Dante afterwards, if he returns post-Downfall?

I think both Vergil's have very complicated relationships with their mother.

Reboot especially I think. I have a related series of posts I still need to finish about Eva and Sparda and the twins (part one and part two!) that I'm definitely going to rehash a bit here!

This is going to perhaps be a bit speculative and headcanony like the two posts linked above. It's also going to like depend on the notion that we really don't like...know what Eva is in Vergil's Downfall. Like if it really is her, if it's a version of her Vergil's made up, if it's her ghost, if it's some impression of her made on the world, etc. I've mentioned in other posts at more length that I prefer the idea of Vergil's Downfall being entirely an internal journey, and while this isn't largely contradicted by the game I do know it is meant to be like...external (that said neither really clarifies what Eva is in Downfall)

Carrying on now! Longish post about Vergil and Eva's relationship as I tend to headcanon/interpret it under the cut!

I know that they're not supposed to play favorites, in Downfall whatever Eva is claims she didn't, and all but in my headcanons and interpretations of the reboot, I tend to poise Vergil and Sparda's favorite and Dante as Eva's. And this is largely due to which parent they each seem to mirror more. I mean, in game we are constantly told Dante is very similar to Sparda by people who knew Sparda very well. People like Phineas and even Mundus, probably the character closest to him we meet in the game outside of Eva.

We have, however, one instance were someone compares Dante to Eva. This was pointed out to me by @kobochajunkbox in part two of the Eva and Sparda post (my friend I hope you do not mind me tagging you asdfghjk, credit where credit is due). In it Phineas says he see's Eva in Dante. And then promptly suggests that Dante should kill Lilith and her unborn (side note does the baby count as unborn after that boss fight I have no idea) child.

And this is maybe reading a lot into the order of lines here but it almost gives off this vibe that Phineas is mentioning this plan because Dante reminds him of Eva. Because this is a line of thinking the Eva he knew would have. Because Phineas sees Eva in Dante, because he knew Eva on some level, because Eva is in this series the sort of person who would be ok with the plan of killing a woman and her child if it meant the possibility of a greater good, then Phineas now thinks Dante can stomach doing the same.

Which, again, may be reading too much into things but I find this take on Eva just really interesting. I find this version of her, being ruthless and scary and a sort of willing to do what she has to for her plans and ideas sort of person, interesting. Particularly coming from a character like her, an angel in the reboot. I mention it semi often but I personally like the idea of scary angel reboot Eva. I like the idea of her being just as dangerous and deadly as Sparda. I find it interesting, even if there might be little to go off there. I find it even more interesting if she was all of that and was trying to change, was trying to become a different person, even while she is aware she is a person capable of great violence and great harm who has historically caused great violence and great harm (I mean, just look at what the angels and demons both did to the Nephilim to begin with)

Which brings me back to my point.

If we read Eva in this way, this person who is willing to do what she must for a plan, no matter the costs...well...she sounds a little similar. She sounds like Vergil.

And I think this might just be why she favored Dante, particularly when we consider Eva after her fall from grace. I suggest in my Eva and Sparda posts my idea of Eva in the reboot, and that is this character who longs for a bit of this fire she sees humanity have because she herself feels cold and detached. She herself is used to seeing herself as a sort of cog in a machine, this ruthless and terribly scary thing. I think she maybe wanted to change that, and I think maybe when she saw Dante, this kid so full of life and energy, that she thought maybe she could tap into that life.

With Vergil, though, I wonder if he sort of...worried her. Because he reminded her too much of herself. Willing to do anything for his ideals, no matter who it hurt, no matter what damage it caused. Reboot Vergil in particular seems like the sort of guy chasing a destiny he has given himself (as implied by some of his lines but also my favorite bit of deleted dialogue also in the dubious canon of the Vergil Chronicles, I have not forgotten Kat calling him destiny boy and so on and so forth).

I think to further this like Eva and Vergil parallel that I find interesting is just how often Vergil is poised with more angelic imagery in the game. Like how when we meet him he's bathed in light or how he's you know, the blue twin. There's also something to be said about the games visuals that ties into this meta I wrote about Vergil and my belothed, Bernini. Something something, marble statue boy, something something, beauty is goodness is godliness in classical art something something angels. Anywho!

It's perhaps a lot to use all of this to suggest that Eva may have liked one of her kids more, but she also doesn't really talk about Vergil that time her ghost or whatever figment of her visits Dante in the game. She doesn't even mention him. Which to be fair like sure she's talking to Dante but she, again, doesn't say anything like 'I failed to protect you and your brother' or 'We didn't give you and your brother choices' like anything she brings up that also involves Vergil she just...leaves out Vergil. She just doesn't mention him. Which feels a bit odd?

And I do want to be clear I don't think Eva like...hates Vergil like she can favor Dante and still love both of her sons like she clearly cares about both of her children. They just have such a fascinating relationship if we look at it from this angle. I mean, there had to be some reason why reboot Vergil feels like his mother favored his brother. Like there has to be some reason why he's come to that conclusion, and it's clearly something that's bothered him for some time given the entirety of Downfall. Even if Eva didn't mean to, she left that impression on her son.

So, I think the relationship between Eva and Vergil is definitely like...really complicated. Far more complicated then their preboot counter parts, even though I mean they are still complicated (perhaps because we have less concrete answers with the reboot).

I would like to think if Vergil came back for good, not just back to be a menace, that he'd be able to talk to Dante about this sometime. Even just to see Eva outside of his own perspective of her. Like, I think it'd be good for the twins to be able to talk about Vergils inadequacies about himself which are not Dante's fault but he needs to talk it out with someone asdfghjkl

Matches from Week of 16th September (1/2)

Below the cut, longish rambles on some matches I watched:

Aston Villa vs Chelsea

Arsenal vs Manchester City

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur

More rambling in a second post to keep this one from getting super long :)

Aston Villa 0 - 1 Chelsea

First games of the season are always a bit odd. This game definitely felt a bit odd.

Chelsea seemed to have some challenges getting into a flow and Villa were a step up from last year. Bits of both of that contributed to the end result and it wouldn't exactly have gone against the run of play if Villa had grabbed an equaliser.

There's perhaps also an unconscious element of expecting Chelsea to do really well because of their track record, but it's not as if they're running away with the WSL every season. It's good for the WSL if more matches are hard fought. Chelsea have to learn to find their rhythm again under a new coach and with new team members, which will take a bit of time.

A couple of shots went just wide from Chelsea and D'Angelo had a pretty solid game. Also, Villa's defense did an admirable job of keeping Ramirez out of too many danger areas or getting the run on them. Which is not an easy task at all.

(Also, take note some other teams/defenders, they did this without fouling, yanking constantly on her arms or her shirt, or other similar tactics.)

However, Villa did have to commit two players (on a few occasions three) to Ramirez many times and this stretched them. Rytting-Kaneryd's goal was excellent and took advantage of a lapse in their stretched defense.

A mixture of good saves from Hampton and difficulties being clinical in the box meant that while Villa had chances, they never finished them. There's a part of me that wonders if that equaliser might have happened if Gabi Nunes was ready and available for this match. Villa had about 8 (?) corners and a fair number of crosses, and just couldn't get the ball in the net. On one occasion, Hampton was completely beaten and the ball was put over the top.

Now, obviously new signings don't always manage to replicate what they do for other clubs, but Nunes has decent aerial play and also good at clinching those goals when the ball is clattering around the 6 and 18 yard boxes. There's a few of her goals here that show what I mean: Gabi Nunes YouTube clips. If this is the style of play Villa are doing going forward, they could be very interesting this season.

Anyway, Chelsea had the fortitude to hold on even when struggling and it was a decent opener for the WSL because it really felt at times like it could end any way. Would have been a hilarious start to the season if D'Angelo had equalised at the end there, though...can you imagine?

Arsenal 2-2 Manchester City

I meant, after Miedema left Arsenal for Man City, this being their opening match seems a bit too coincidental to not have been by design, right? Make sure there was a big, potentially chaotic game to start of the season? I don't know... maybe it really was coincidental.

It was as chaotic as match-ups between the top teams often are and kind of a nervy affair at times. Manchester City started out shaky, conceded early, then grabbed a goal back just before half-time from...Miedema.

Second half got even more all over the place. Park put a beautiful shot right in the top corner of the Arsenal goal, Foord had a goal ruled offside when she was actually onside, then Mead scored off of a deflection from the upright shortly after a tackle from McCabe ended up with Kelly on the floor and Little tripping over her and landing on top of her. Two City players got yellow cards for complaining about that, and five were carded in total throughout the game.

Manchester City did not seem to cope well with Arsenal's long balls over the top and then when they had the ball in defense, they were too indecisive and slow playing out from the back. It also looked like Bunny Shaw was sitting pretty far back in the midfield which was unusual and didn't seem to give her the space to get out and on the attack easily. On the other hand, Arsenal failed to take some decent chances that they got and made errors closing down in defense. So both teams just looked that bit...not quite their usual play. Kind of like Chelsea, but more on edge.

I've seen a lot of criticism of Zinsberger and Yamashita online. Now, I will go to bat for goalkeepers a lot. I think they often get unfair criticism and frequently people don't think about what the game looks like from their perspective. It's kind of well known at this point that Zinsberger gets a lot of criticism that is undeserved; not to say she always plays well, but it has become almost a reflex to blame Zinsberger when she isn't the one shouldering the main fault for a goal. Yamashita is also already getting a lot of criticism and being written off, on top of the dismissal I've seen of her from some people who apparently have never watched her play in goal for Japan.

The four goals were all tricky in different ways. Maanum hit the first ball hard (she was making sure that thing went into the net!) and even if Yamashita had gone the right way (she had to make a split second reaction, likely influenced unconsciously by where players were in the box and where the ball was most likely to be hit) I don't know if she would have got a hand to it. The second Arsenal goal, Kafaji hit it near post, Yamashita threw herself that way to cover the angle, but the ball hit the upright and bounced to Mead. Not a lot she could do there.

The first Manchester City goal deflected off of a defender's head and having already set herself up to go the original direction of the shot, Zinsberger couldn't reposition in time for the deflection. Then Jess Park's goal was right, right up in the top corner, dinking in from the bar. It's easy to go "if such and such was positioned better, they'd get there", but if you were positioned better to stop one type of goal, you'd likely open yourself up to conceding a different type of goal. It's decisions made in seconds or split seconds and sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't. Both Zinsberger and Yamashita had great saves during the game, but too many people dismiss those with "the striker should have scored" or "the ball was right at her" without thinking that the goalkeeper also played a role in putting the striker off or making those positioning decisions constantly throughout the approach to close angles or make it more likely that the striker would aim it close to or at them. Goalkeepers do a lot more than gets appreciated sometimes.

I'm sure both Manchester City and Arsenal fans have many feelings about that game, but as a fan of no team, it was certainly an interesting watch.

Crystal Palace 0 - 4 Tottenham Hotspurs

Going back for just about as long as both the WSL and the Championship (and their previous renditions) have existed, there have been warnings and discussions about how the changes in the top division are not being replicated further down... Unfortunately, I suspect Crystal Palace are going to have as rough a time in the WSL as their predecessors did.

Tottenham took a bit of time to find their flow, they went in at half-time with just the one goal from Hayley Raso, but in the second half they came out and just outperformed Crystal Palace across the pitch. Neville was fantastic, Spence was brilliant, and they controlled the game for most of the second half.

Crystal Palace struggled so much more in the second half. There were also some things which will get them pinged by referees; repeatedly running in front of Becky Spencer and physically preventing her from releasing goal-kicks quickly, pulling on Tottenham player's shirts hard when they were running for goal or in the box...

As ridiculous as it might sound with the scoreline, Shae Yanez in goal for Crystal Palace was probably their best player, her keeping it to 4 was respectable considering it could have been much, much higher...

Three young Lionesses got minutes for Crystal Palace: Lexi Potter started and had a decent enough game considering the outcome, Brooke Aspin came on in the 64th minute and Poppy Pritchard came on at 82 minutes. Unfortunately, in the 94th minute, Brooke Aspin lost her composure completely, reacted poorly to a call by the referee and received two yellow cards within seconds of each other. Not a good start for her.

I rewatched the incident, but with the quality of the footage on YouTube I cannot for the life of me see the original foul. The commentator says she pulled the Tottenham player down, but her hands don't look like they're near her shirt? I thought maybe she clipped her trailing leg as she moved inside to cut off her run towards goal, but I cannot see the contact with the poor film quality. So, I don't know whether the two yellow cards came from the foul, then Brooke Aspin shouting at the referee and kicking the ball away, or whether both were for her reaction. First she stopped and yelled at the referee, not sure what was said, then booted the ball in frustration and I think it hit the Tottenham player who was on the floor. I don't think there's anywhere we can see referee reports/write-ups for the WSL, is there? It would really help to understand some of the decisions.

Either way, a bad day for Brooke Aspin. Probably not the start to the season she would have wanted. A serious "learn from this moment" event.

longish post so im shoving most of it under the cut sowry

angsty genderfeels au where rabbit was made a girl the first time round, but because she was given weapons for the weekend war the us army wanted her for ww1 but for sexism reasons they didn't want a woman fighting, so they made col walter make her a whole new chassis.

upgrade is also there but she was built maybe after the weekend war? so she doesn't have the same weaponry and was enlisted as a nurse instead. after the war ends rabbit was put back into her original chassis but in ww2 the same thing happened over again :/ except peter walter i died during the war, and ii and iii were worried about messing up her core and potentially killing her so couldn't put her back in her original chassis. alternatively, during the whole kidnapping debacle her original chassis was ruined beyond what the walters thought they could fix, and so they shoved her in her male one to save her life (maybe she feels guilty about hating her male body bc she knows it saved her life?) idk im spitballing here man. im just having Emotions about rabbit again as normal
