Last night, I heard your terrifying howling. I felt the earth tremble, as if to shake me awake as you let loose the enchanting song of demise you sing when you catch someone in your woods.

It was followed by the townsfolk pounding at my door in a panic. A child had stumbled into your woods at sunset, and had yet to return now at midnight.

Your howling had convinced the useless brutes who guarded the village that you'd claimed the child as a casualty in your forest, but the villagers had managed to convince them to let me investigate first.

Thank the sun they had.

As I ran down the path to the fields, I saw you in the moonlight. In the middle of the wheat field, standing, with a dove pale as the purest white paints in your jaws. The brutish guards had followed me, and panicked, readying arrows and shouting for the rest of the village as I ran toward you.

Then, the child peeked out from behind your hulking form, looking up sleepily as if they were not standing by wilderness incarnate. The villagers chastised the brutes angrily, the child's mother running down yelling for them as your gaze pierced straight through me.

Toward the brutes.

You dropped the dove into my hands, black ichor staining my palms as you turned and nudged the child forward into their mother's embrace. When their mother asked the child why they'd taken so long to come back with you, they'd told her that something bad had tried to eat them after they got lost.

But then the angel, the child had pointed up at you with wonder in their eyes, had saved them. You glared at the brutes, and I shared your baleful gaze. Their disrespect would not have been tolerated if the child had not been present.

You bow and snort playfully at the child as a farewell, taking the dove in my hands back into your jaws before running off back to the forest. Your home.

I help the child's mother up from the ground, and carry the child up the hill. They're tired, it's past their bedtime. The brutes stare at me incredulously as I glower at them while walking past.

I spend the night awake after that. The scentless ichor that dripped from the dove's wounds, the visceral unsettlement I'd felt while holding it, how its figure had shifted unnaturally in my hands and your jaws keeping me from resting.

That was an angel. They'd sent an angel to kill that child in your forest.

Such a tiny child, incapable of doing any wrong, and yet they'd been all too willing to sacrifice them to instil the fear of the wild, the fear of you, back inside this village. After all the good you'd done, the successful hunts you'd sanctioned in the hunting grounds of your home....

I grasped my bone-steel knife you'd made for me after I'd helped you bury one of your kin, infused with your very power and strength. It's stayed under my floorboards for months now, I've not had the heart to use it. I felt as if any usage of it would be of disrespect to you.

But now, as I steel myself and begin gathering salt, candles and half of my money from where I store it? As fury burns inside of me like a pyre at the utter guts they had to try and kill one of my own to prove naught but a silly little argument that they were too stubborn to admit they were wrong about?

I feel a wild energy pulse through the knife as I stare out my window, gritting my teeth as I think of plunging the knife I clutch in my hand into the chest of a bastard who ruined my life before and seeks to do it again. I think of watching as black ichor streams out of their wounds as you and I raid their sacred halls of false innocence and purity.

This use for our knife is a compliment to you.

Uhh for your fic Origin story I wanted to comment:

I think this concept has a lot of potential as a slow burn (though it is implied they are not just “roommates” to Papyrus) so over time the reader can realise they actually HAVE feelings for Papyrus.

ALSO ALSO could have an epic fight scene where readers identity is revealed causing lots of internal conflict.OR where if the reader DOES actually expose Papyrus’ identity they feel conflicted after doing so.

But I realise the notes you left were meant as an inquiry to lore/didn’t really match up so you don’t have to use these ideas (either way your writing is amazing).

You are absolutely correct when you say the reader is not just "a roommate" to Papyrus- I left it ambiguous in the fic but he definitely considers them a friend and honestly is probably crushing on them even if he doesn't know it yet. (Everyone else thinks they are More Than Roommates of course.)

I looooove those reveal ideas 👀!!! Love me some good ol angst and complicated emotions!!!! If the story were to take a more serious turn it'd be so fun to explore the fallout of either (or both!) especially if the second one happened before the first >:3c Like man. exposing Papyrus' identity and then having yours exposed in turn?? The potential DRAMA...

Wait I just realised there could totally be a thing where the reader does the supervillain thing of "MWA HAHA I am trying to find out the superhero's civilian identity so I have leverage over them" except instead of leverage they're just hoping that he'll stop being a hero and go back to normal hejfjfjdksngnek (some real misguided supervillain thought processes there...)

But also, saying that... the way I've been playing things in universe follows the rule of: "comedy, except the reader is the only taking anything seriously" so the initial idea for a reveal was that there WOULD be a big epic fight where the reader's identity is accidentally revealed, and they panic, thinking that there's going to be a huge dramatic thing only for Papyrus to be like "OH YEAH, I KNEW IT WAS YOU ALL ALONG. YOU AREN'T VERY GOOD AT HIDING YOUR IDENTITY. I KINDA THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DO THIS SO WE COULD BE BETTER FRIENDS/SPEND MORE TIME TOGETHER" while the reader is agonizing over the fact that they had to set up SO MANY traps and fights that make it LOOK like they wanted to kill him but all "fail".

Buuuuuuuuut that's also after a lot of slowburn hero/villain banter as well as awkward roommate moments :3c

i also have a quick question about the priest au, since the response to bees’(?) ask made me kinda curious; why does father komaeda take such interest in hinata specifically? does he do this with other disciples? has he done this with other disciples? im just kind of curious where his motivations lie in pursuing hajime specifically, and im also interested to know how hajime feels about the fact his Father gives him clear preferential treatment, if that is the case.

hi hca! wonderful questions. some of these have answers, some of these don’t have answers, and some of them are secret! perhaps even secret from me oooh fun . however i do a thing with a couple friends where we watch hannibal together over discord. and i just got out of one of those calls. which means i am in the PERFECT mindset to think abt komaeda characterization bc tbh the hannibal manipulation/corruption arc (especially in s1) is very similar to the dynamic i try to depict between the komahiners here. funnily enough i do want to make a hannibal komahina au eventually but shhh it’s fine it’s whatever. super manipulative komaeda may not be canon but he IS hot so whatever (dom komaeda plays mind games i know it . but that’s unrelated <3)

ANYWAYS. i’m gonna give answers to ur questions under the cut, just to prevent a long post. weeee

Q: Why does Father Komaeda take such an interest in Hinata, specifically?

A: that’s a secret! however, i can tell you thay physical attraction is certainly involved. is there emotional attraction? intellectual attraction? that’s for the Father to know and us to quietly wonder about. there is also an element of power— hinata is very very vulnerable to manipulation. that being said, Father Komaeda’s interest in hinata is not superficial— it is genuine and visceral and obsessive.

Q: Does he do this with other disciples? Has he done this with other disciples?

A: Father Komaeda has never directly tutored someone like this before (hinata is his only true Disciple), but that isn’t to say he hasn’t done manipulative things to people before. the Father is a well-beloved priest in a pretty strongly Catholic town— he has a lot of power and sway in his little sphere. whether he has used this power selfishly in the past is not something i think hinata would worry about, and as such i will not provide a concrete answer as to just how strong Father Komaeda’s influence is. it doesn’t really matter to hinata, anyways, since to him the Father is already almighty.

Q: How does Hinata feel about Father Komaeda giving him preferential treatment?

A: you’re not gonna believe this. he feels Guilty about it. quite literally his baseline. standard emotional response to anything is shame for that man. hinata isn’t blind— he knows that the Father does more for him than he does for the other attendees of their church. however, hinata sees this as him being both so pitiful that his priest felt the need to put more effort into him and so selfish that he would take advantage of Father Komaeda’s kindness the way he does. he’s kinda stupid (said with love nobody ever taught him any better it’s not his fault <3). hinata usually fails to notice the subtler ways in which Father Komaeda treats him differently, though. he thinks the Father gently places his hand on Everybody’s hip when he has to slip by them, and smiles like that at Everyone, and laughs with Everyone Else just as much as he does with hinata. he is… very oblivious.

this last bit is not relevant to any of your questions but it is a drop of priestmaeda lore that i’ve yet to be able to connect to anything plot relevant: komaeda inherited ownership of the church from his parents when they passed. he lives on the property, actually! take all of that as you will :)

The "canon" version? Honestly, the ambiguity. They're a blank slate of a character for the player to put whatever they want on. There's a few pieces we get from what the other characters say/do around them, but we mostly just get to go wild with 'em.

im actually gonna take this ask in a different direction than you maybe originally meant it in so i apologize for that however i think my interpretations work best if i specifically use the loonaverse versions of the members because for 1 it just fits together a little better in my head if i connect these fictional characters to the fictionalized versions of these irl people, if that makes sense. and 2 im also just very autistic about the loonaverse. sorry

ok so despite the fact that i associate lola w that specific pic of yj, i find her more in line with yves, narratively speaking. because, well. yves is a fucking player. sneaking out to go on dates with vivi, stringing along chuu to make her partake of the fruit, recruiting her to convince gowon to do the same, fucking hyeju over, and THEN after hyeju had her little angry moment, yves just flashed her a smile and a wave to make her forgive her???? she has everyone wrapped around her finger. it’s crazy. two little baddie rulebreakers who WILL get what they want through love and/or war. love them

as for pinky, i debated on this one a bit. on one had there’s the undeniable rich girl swag of haseul. on the other, the princess-like charms of gowon were tempting. but ultimately? she’s a yeojin girl. her debut concept was so cute and quirky, but still with a distinct attitude to it that very much gives spoiled youngest and/or only child. she also has that same princess vibe, but a little more bright and youthful compared to gowon’s darker/more somber side of it. beyond debut, yeojin’s persona develops to lean more into that sassier vibe with the cuter aspects becoming more of an undertone which is very pinky to me

mandy… this one is flexible for me as well, between heejin or jinsoul. ppl usually say this about hyeju, but i actually think heej and soul have more “two sides of the same coin” qualities which kinda makes me wanna use them as a pair? like a duality if that makes sense. they’re both kinda morally ambiguous, heejin leaning more towards good and jinsoul more neutral/possibly evil, and also seem to have a lot more like. knowledge about the universe they’re in. like they’re very Aware of things and both attempt to exercise control over their surroundings a lot. jinsoul’s methods (allegedly!) are more Morally Questionable which is kinda where mandy leans, but i think the conflict between the two (as seen in not friends) can represent her change in how she views people and approaches relationships after… everything. they’re also both super gay

for beatrice i think maybe vivi? it’s mostly vibes based here. but vivi being an android is shown to be something that alienates her from her peers and makes her insecure in herself, despite the fact that she’s probably smarter and more talented than most if not all of them because of it. she still just wants to fit in and be a normal girl with friends who like her. later on, vivi’s android powers are shown to be more of an asset that can help her and her friends when they need it. i mean she literally piloted a space ship by herself for presumably several years to help them jump timelines or something. i think beatrice would appreciate that. plus, i think the edily concept can represent her more girly and romantic side. real yearner girl hours

now for zoe. hyeju. she’s hyeju. no debate really. they’re both initially characterized by their anger, having been hurt and betrayed and feeling really alone and isolated. hyeju is kinda viewed as a villain or a bad person because of her anger and craving for revenge, and while she can be volatile, at the end of the day she’s kinda just. a kid who was hurt. and yeah maybe she isn’t the “perfect victim”, she’s rude and angry and lashes out at people whether they deserve it or not. but she still didn’t deserve to be hurt the way she was. and she very much IS capable of love and forgiveness and she can eventually mend what was broken if she accepts the help offered to her. it just might take her a little extra time and some people willing to give her a chance. and also forgive some possible alleged murders but that’s not important

And aaa hihi I love yapping about the sun :333 bc like -- what is the sun's deal?? (Or what seems to be its deal lmao) And the yappage is real so I've decided to put this under a read more for everyone's convenience :'3

The first mentions that stick out to me are in The White Beyond, in both the opening and Titular track. In "Inside of you in spite of you" there's the lyric »I am the sun before you see me rise« Now – what/who the "I" in that song is could fill a whole other post but I think it's safe to say it is something untethered to any sense of self. It's not its own thing, rather all these different things. Why am I going on about this? In the track "The White Beyond" we have the question »Do you see your own reflection when you stare into the blinding sun?« for the first time drawing a line between any sort of self-hood and the Sun "do you see yourself in the sun?" I included the little aside about IOYISOY bc I think those songs are directly connected in meaning, since "I am in the Air now" is the last line of TWB and the first line of IOYISOY. like two sides of the same coin. (Honorable sun mention from that album: in Come A Time we have the magnificent line of »And when you stare into the sun/do you see the insides of sight itself?« which would lead well into an analysis of visual perception and 'the real" in Alex's music. For another post. OTL)

Let's move forward to SOL - a self-banishment ritual. And-- I mean-- the whole album is named after the sun. And you get tons of visual references to it from the cover art to the icon on the cd and Phantom Limb's music video. However, lyrically the Sun's kinda shy on that record. We have one mention in At The Road's End, in the spoken word part of Alex's »And today, on Friday, February 10th, 2017, I had known my name, I had known how tall I stood, I had known my hands, I had known my eyes, and the color of the sun.« HOW INTERESTING that he calls that out specifically in his little manifestation of himself (bc also -- hasn't he not unspoken his name not even an hour ago in The Unspeaking? Knowing what the sun looks like is as fundamental to oneself as knowing one's own name.)

But that isn't the kicker. Bc again in the last track of the album, Let's Talk About Bones, we get a lyric that seems all too familiar in the second verse »Now you see the sun/where once you saw your own reflection« the devastation this line lead me to feel.it's unreal. The Ritual is supposely concluded (or is about to) and the ambiguity in this line kills me every day. Like- do you look up at the sun and now just see it for what it is? Since you don't have a self to project onto it anymore? Or are you looking into a mirror, expecting your reflection but now you see the sun, something grander, something without a self. (And there's also an argument to be made that neither of these matter, since the next line »So push your face into the mirror till it breaks« proposes shattering any reflection of that self but aaaaa what is the sun. What is its deal. Is it the self? Is it benevolent? Is it a version of one self? Is it a luminous Other? Is it good to see it instead of your reflection? Is it good to see your reflection instead of the sun?)

I want to highlight one last sun mention, again in a closing track, this time of The Birdwatcher's Guide To Atrocity. Bc if the question about what the sun stands for wasn't complicated enough; in comes Celebration Song with »When I hurled the spear it was a million to one/hurrah hurrah hurrah/but from the mountaintop I took down the sun/hurrah hurrah hurrah« COOL. so now Alex poses the a protagonist directly against the Sun. And the take down gets celebrated. And at this point I have no fucking clue anymore of the nature of the sun.

I couldn't even go into these mentions in context of their own songs. But there is a clear through-line. I s2g (or maybe the sun??) if the next album's closing track alluded to the sun once more OTL idk what I'll do but it'd be so fucking funny.

Personally I think the Sun is mainly a stand in for The Self, disconnected from body/conscious; an answer so simple and obvious it's so unsatisfactory to me wfyjykettjoyut

But even then it's so layered. And good. Waugh

Any aspect you especially like about the music? What's your favorite album? :3

Hi! I have a lot of meaningful associations with Sol because of the time in my life when I was listening to it a lot for the first time, and it has Stranger on it which is my second favorite song of theirs overall. Also, if it's a concept album with track transitions, I'm already lining up

And it's definitely the lyrics. For most artists I love the music takes priority but tbh Seeming is one of if not the only artist I'm obsessed with not just for the music but also the sheer poetry of the lyrics. Songs I put on loop are catchy but songs that are my all-time favorites are ones with profound or personally meaningful lyrics so I guess you could say I'm a lyrics guy first and foremost and Seeming scratches that itch more than any other band I listen to :> I could probably go through the writing of each of my favorites and say what it is I like specifically but that would take forever...

Although I'm not downplaying how good the music is because I mean have you HEARD Knowledge and End Studies

Vol 9 Ch 2 Review

....Man.

Spoilers for Chapter 2

Again, what is with this tonal dissonance between the situation and the characters? It went from, “hehe haha what a whimsical place” to “nothing make sense, and this world is fucking stupid” to “we’re terrible people and everything we touches goes to hell” within a minute. The tone transition doesn’t feel natural, and it nearly gave me fucking whiplash just looking at them interacting.

I do appreciate the more cartoony, slapstick style of animation though. Even if it’s, once again, tone deaf and weird AF.

Wow, Blake is finally a bookworm again. After 6 fucking years.

A little nitpick, but really? Alix and the Jabberwocker? That’s the length you’re going with? Just fucking slap me with a brick that said “it’s Alice in Wonderland”, I don’t think I caught the memo yet. /s

The Dormouse gag with Little is getting a bit tiring tbh. 

Two thoughts about Jinxy: 1) he’s kinda cute :3 would pet. 2) Oh my fucking god, please tell me this isn’t a caricature of Romani/travelers, please please PLEASE. You can’t just do something else?? Bro, we know fairy tales are laced with antisemitism and anti-traveler rhetoric but you’re supposed to be AGAINST it.

*Yang got her arm back literally the next episode, killing any potential ideas of her actually being interesting as a disable character having to navigate and adapt to her surroundings using skills and wits*

Another nitpick, but wow, I wonder which is the arm. The two ambiguously looking items, or the scepter that looks exactly the same as the damn arm. 

Also, ENOUGH with the Bumblebee pussy footing. “What’s the meaning of love?” “Are we holding hands? :3c teehee no no, just teasing.” Get. It. Over. With. You wanna fuck each other, just do it already and spare me 8 more episodes of your pseudo-queer bullshit. 

Again, the tonal dissonance. Ruby’s having a crisis over Penny’s sword (I’ll get to this madness later), Yang excitedly running away, Blake is frantically doing the same... Weiss just walk off nonchalantly. ISTG if this is her stihck for the Volume I’ll wrangle her myself.

...so, the entire White Fang storyline, in which you were constantly on Adam’s case about being “pacifistic” in the eyes of systematic oppression, continuously making a fuss about an issue that affects YOUR race and life despite barely doing jackshit, and always fucking around when it comes to the reality of a racist world that shits on your people wasn’t a moral journey to you. 

Can’t say I’m surprise, Blake, you pasty All Lives Matters bitch. You continued to ignore an enterprise’s legal slavery after TWO people you knew shows you the horror of racial discrimination while your ass was cozy in an island mansion. You can’t be trusted to talk about morals, you lacked them. 

Ruby herself is giving me so much mixed feelings right now, more bad than good. She’s broken up about Penny, which is understandable, but I really, REALLY can’t believe her when she honors the poor girl. Not after gaslighting her in Volume 8, not after barely having a discussion about the events of Beacon, not after everything between them that was just Penny giving and Ruby taking for the entirety of Atlas. 

She got a W though, for being the only sensible person at the end. None of them know what they’re doing, not after crashing a kingdom and economically cripple another in your absence. So stop acting like they know what is going on.

Hey so I’ve just discovered your blog and I gotta say, I too am not a fan of Winter, like I dislike it but I’d only be slightly annoyed if it was cannon. I’m curious though so can you give me a rundown on how you think vs how you hope the show will pan out for Hunter’s emotions?

I really don’t know HOW it’ll turn out in the show, it could go one of three ways imo, two of which are how I hope it might go. So route one is they make hunt/low canon. That’s the worst turn out, doesn’t make sense narratively or really add anything to a story that was already shortened, and kinda looks bad writing wise in comparison to the amazing writing in the entire rest of the show. Route two is that they remain ambiguous. That’s the “okay I can accept this” route or the “fanservice” route. Still not my favorite option, but one I can live with. Route three is the rejection route. They very well could be setting up for this as Willow hasn’t reciprocated any blushes or feelings (if Hunter actually does have any for her- That’s still not canon yet and blushes mean nothing with Hunter as we’ve seen.) towards him. This is the ideal route to me. It actually holds some weight to the story imo, showing Hunter that rejection isn’t always bad and that he is still cared about and accepted- Just not romantically. It would set up for possibly aroace Willow too :3c but that’s a personal wish lol. But it would be nice to see rejection played out positively in the media (a la Wendy and Dipper) rather than how it’s typically played out as negative and world ending. Honestly I genuinely don’t know which route they’ll take, or if they’ll come out with something completely different and surprise all of us lmao

NOW! My thoughts on these lil guys as they strike me having only first seen them like 20 minutes ago

This one’s a bit ambiguous between being cat or fox-inspired, I’m definitely getting more cat vibes from it, however it DEFINITELY the grass type starter lol

While still having a heavily rounded head it is more oval shape this time around and it has the fur poofing up on the sides of the face, they haven’t gone for all circle heads this time and for that I am grateful

Between the four pronged leaf shape on the face matching with the leaf protrusion on the chest and the ears it’s evolution is definitely leaning towards having more/leaves in that shape when it evolves

The way that the face coloring curves around the eyes means that it’s probably going to keep the faux winged eyeliner look and frankly I’m not complaining if they keep it part of the entire face coloring like it is here

It’s hard to see because of the screenshot but there is a faint lighter coloring of green/green-yellow on the edges of the face fur and on the paws, interesting

The combination of the darker face coloring around the red eyes for contrast as an interesting choice and those red eyes will probably make it thru it’s the whole evolution line 

It looks like it would hang out by trimmed foliage next to fountains and steal the water while sunbathing, it’s the vibe

This lil dude is SO shaped

My first thought upon seeing it was “Apple dinosaur” and that’s definitely not wrong but I would also like to point out that it could be apricot-based too

It has those two little yellow squares on the tail and on the belly, if I were to wager a guess those are going to be a sort of belly armor and tail armor in the evolutions or are going to be the continuous secondary shape on the body

The way that the coloration goes around the face and keeps on the upper part of the snout is obviously apple shaped but it DOES give just an inkling of a skull face so that could go both ways

The two stems on the top are definitely going to be exaggerated upon in the evolutions 

The toes are defined and are obviously stumpy but there aren’t any claw definitions on the arms so it’s possible that it may be Tyrannosaurus rex inspired or simply more focused design wise on the legs

In immediate contradiction to the previous bullet point it’s lack of neck could make it more brontosaurus-leaning in that  department, we’ll see

This is gonna be another ‘mon that like to bite the shit outta everything I can just tell, those eyes don’t show any mercy behind them

(I’m pretty sure my saturation thing fucked up the colors when I brightened it up so this one gets a comparison picture lol)

We’ll find out which one it is when the evolutions come along it’s kinda hard to tell from just “bird shape”

The head hair/feathers is. A little odd. I’m especially curious about the little white line on the front there. If I were to guess just from context clues I bet that’s where it stores extra water or stuff it finds, in its “hair”

Webbed feet match the head feathers and not the beak, more of an observation but it is interesting

 there’s not as much going on here design wise which does lead me back to the hair feathers probably being one of the main things that’ll get extrapolated upon in the evolutions, it’s body not having much going on emphasizes the hair feather thing

 it has that one defined feather on the chest which means either more feathers will be added there or it’s going to have a neck of feathers in one or both of the evolutions

As a sidenote the hair in the way that it bends over almost looks like a :3c face, so I am gonna slide in that there is a possibility of its evolution being dual ghost type and that top part being the ghost of ghostly leaning or something

We can’t see the tail but I’m assuming it’s either just a little white poof extending from the body or that it’s possibly the same color as the hair/feet

It kinda nails the look between being easily excitable and wanting my social security number. Mostly though it just looks like it’s well meaningly and easily confused

This one uses puppy eyes a lot, I can just feel it, this ‘mon goes 🥺 to get what it wants I’m calling it right now

Underswap sans: since he has no hair and has just recently seen humans for the first time, you can say he doesn't know much about hair... you once told knight that hair was dead skin and for a solid week he treated humans like weird aliens until you explained that its normal and not gross- if you dont think about it. he honestly thought your hair just came in the style you had it? but one day you left the bathroom door open when you were getting ready, he happened to glance in to see you with your hair down, he just stares at you until you finally notice him. Then you explain that hair in fact grows and does not come pre styled, though you wish it did. 

underswap papyrus: he never really cared to be honest, he wasn't being rude he just never really thought about human hair, since he didn't have any. sure doctor undyne has hair but its just kinda been there, he never really asked what was up with it. though unlike sans who hasn't seen undyne with a bedhead, he knew that your hair wasn't pre styled, though when you let it down one day he didnt think it would change how you looked as much as it did. no matter what short hair, long hair, no hair, braids, locs, anything he would still love you, monsters dont really care about looks as much as humans, but boy were your beautiful. he didn't realize you can become multiple types of beautiful.

swapfell sans: i mean, he knew you had long hair, you ask him sometimes to help style it or check if any pins fell out. but he has never seen you with your hair fully down. it happened in the kitchen, he had just gotten home and you were making cookies at the request of papyrus who was nowhere to be seen. at first he just stood there silently looking at you, you looked wonderful with the glow of the sun shining on you though the window, you looked like you came straight from the heavens. eventually you turned around and saw him standing there looking like he has just seen the most wonderful thing on earth (he has). after that day whenever you were home alone he asked if you could let your hair down, he never told you why but he always is in a better mood when you let him braid it while watching a movie or just hanging out

swapfell papyrus: he has always wanted to touch your hair, he knows how weird it sounds but he always had imagine it feeling like petting a puppy. and to him you are his cute little puppy, when he finally saw your hair down it was like a dream come true! it was so much better than he imagined! the way it framed your face, how the sun bounced off of it! it was stunning! he tapped your shoulder ( startiling you while at it) he spoke so fast you couldn't understand, but the jest of it was “ can i please take a picture so i can show everyone how beautiful you are?”  it took some balk and fourth but eventually he got a picture of you in his wallet that he still has to this day.

thinking about the foxes ethnicities, here’s my thoughts no one asked for-

renee in my head has always been very racially ambiguous, deep-tan skin & brown hair, it’s just been bleached so she always has a little root showing. you look at her & kinda just wonder, is she latina? mixed black&white? maybe some unspecified asian? idk. she doesn’t know, she didn’t know her father & it wasn’t something she really discussed with her mother & she doesn’t care to get one of those tests, she’s who she is & finding that out will change nothing.

allison is half white half vietnamese. idk why, but she is, her mom is vietnamese & she also dyes her hair lighter to assimilate more into whiteness for the high society life, which is why allison dyes it blonde. she never has roots showing. shes tall & filled out with muscles & always has beautiful radiant clear skin.

matt is half jamaican, half nigerian & hes dark skin with very dark, kind eyes. his mother was born and raised in jamaica & his father is a second generation nigerian. his “hair sticking up” are just twists. his scars on his arms arent as easy to see because of his skin color but he doesn’t care either way who sees them. he’s really tall & muscular & his smile goes crazy just cs i said so.

dan was, like renee, kinda in the dark about her ethnicity. she looked just black but she wanted to know more so she did one of those dna kits. she got that she’s actually half trini and then a whole slew of african countries & some random splashes of white in there leading her to believe it’s just african american. nothing much changed now that she knows, but she’s glad she does. shes brown skinned & has 3c hair.

nicky is, like we know, mexican & white. luther in my head has dark,  mediterranean features which lends to nickys darker coloring. i hc his mom as indigenous mexican specifically. he has thick brown-black hair & thick ass brows lol. he could grow a beard if he wanted to.

aaron&andrew are blond by chance. tilda also had a mediterranean look to her, greek or italian, & it made people look at her funny with this little blonde child in tow. they get really tan & freckled on their faces during the summer. they assume their father had some blond hair & pretty strong genes.

i always switch what i hc kevin as. wymack is a source of controversy in my head mostly. he’s not white for sure to me. i think he’s samoan in my head. & kayleigh was half japanese half irish so there’s that. he has tannish skin but gets super white during the summer lol. his mom looked like devin aoki in my head. he has silky, inky black hair.

oh, neil. i struggle with neil too. i can’t imagine him being black mostly because it would have made going from country to country much more difficult due to racism in western countries & it definitely would have impacted his story. however, idk if he’s just white. we know he LOOKS white. i think his mother was jewish in both ethnicity & religion (less religion cs mafia shit) but he doesn’t really look like her much, maybe in the cheeks & eye shape.

I hated people saying “oh I get it! the scarecrow’s gonna lose his mind over Clover!!!” when I think it’s pretty obvious the scarecrow loosing his brain is referring to his alcoholism, and he FINALLY GETS IT BACK in Vol 7. sigh. I did like that we got to see a softer side and him going sober in Vol 7 and that made me fall in love with him, it rounded out the character a lot and made me see some deeper things about him. So I part made the blog out of spite to put my own portrayal out there. I also wanted to explore alcoholism a little bit, help me see from the perspective of someone falling into it and overcoming it. It’s also in tribute to someone I lost to alcoholism.
