list of abaddon's abilities u_u

● telekinesis. abaddon has amazing telekinesis. he can throw multiple cars at once, demonstrating the telekinesis' strength, he can push people with it, asphyxiate others, amongst other telekinetic things.

○ telekinesis weaknesses: it's possible for his brain to "overload" when overusing it, thus he could suffer a migraine that temporarily prevents further use.

● flight. because he has wings, duh.

○ flight weaknesses: it'll EVENTUALLY get tiring flapping those wings all the time. though any human is more likely to tire out long before abaddon does.

● superstrength. in a way, that is. abaddon is stronger than any human. his body parts make him even stronger - such as his talons, which are sharp enough to tear through flesh with ease. his fangs possess the same sharpness, too. hence why abaddon (once) loved eating humans so much, with his body features, it was very easy for him to eat somebody.

● lack of a heart & lungs. technically, abaddon possesses both a heart & lungs as jin needs them. but one abaddon takes over, both his lungs & heart cease function. this is also why abaddon turns a pale color, and why his skin is cool to the touch. but because his heart doesn't beat, abaddon never has to worry about overworking it, he also never has to worry about catching his breath. if he could reach it, he can easily venture through outer space without dying. he can also stay underneath water for a impossibly long time.

● hellish abilities. abaddon is blessed (or cursed) with the gifts from a god (azazel), therefore, he's capable of divine power. he uses dark energy for multiple purposes, manifesting weapons (such as swords and chains) as well as taking all that energy, and using it as a bomb (to quite literally explode people)

● heat lasers. his "third eye" can generate heat, which can then shoot out as a "laser". if somebody is hit with this laser, it hurts, a lot.

○ laser weaknesses: it's painful to have that much heat near the brain, every time abaddon fires a laser, it stings his brain a bit. if he shoots too many lasers, the pain will temporarily prevent him from firing more. this pain, however, is usually very shortly lived.

● disguise. technically. because abaddon can take away all his demon parts, and presume an appearance of a human. meaning if he desired to, he can look exactly like jin. no weird arms, no horns, no wings, no marks, no bright eyes, no pale skin. just like jin. this means he can start his heart again if needed. this is what he did during his reign of the zaibatsu.

● shapeshifting. this ability ONLY APPLIES TO HIS & JIN'S MINDSCAPE. abaddon cannot shapeshift physically, but in his & jin's spiritual world, abaddon can shapeshift into whatever he pleases. he can alter his appearance, or he can even take the form of anybody else (including people jin knows & loves). he can also change his size, make himself a giant, or make himself hamster size. abaddon would do this often to mess with jin. since purification, abaddon doesn't do this much unless jin wants him to or gives an ok.

So I'm gonna lighten my semi-hiatus just a bit; while my net is absolute trash, as long as I take things slowly and deal with the random blips and not overloading posts with graphics (A large gif can make my net cut out? Stupidly enough?), it's not as terrible as it has been! I've been slowly testing things over on @thundertide to see what it can and can't handle, as well as doing some blogwork in the background, so I think it's safe to say I'm back in almost full!

However, I've also managed to catch a virus that's had me flat on my back for the last month, and for the last week or so, also rendered me largely bedridden with how horrible I feel. Blogwork has been pretty much all I can do besides sleeping and waiting for this virus to work its way through my system, which it's taking it's sweet bloody time to do. For this alone it might be a little longer before I'm actually fully on top of things, but I'm tired of being on a semi-hiatus, so. XD

In the meantime, I've updated a few things:

Sera's divergences page has had an update! I've rewritten the FF7 and GI sections entirely for (hopefully) easier reading, and I've added a few things to it overall - Namely how the phoenix lore fits in with the different verses and how it plays in the overall backstory, like Sera's ties to Shiva in 7, and the ancient phoenix gods in GI, as well as a note towards the top of the page on how the lore fits in in general right now. Sera should still be seen as human - Because she is human, the phoenix Aria is her core but asleep deep within her. I just like having my info right there and available, especially for something like this that's still being grown and figured out little by little, and would probably leave people with questions. XD Further updates are coming within a couple months due to still playing Rebirth when I can (gaming time is restricted because of the net issues), and because of plotting going on behind the scenes.

Rules have been updated to follow in the same footsteps as the above! It's minor stuff; just reitterating Sera and the kids are inherently fandomless/multifandom OCs with primary verses, and that Sera shouldn't be recognized as a phoenix/elemental being from hello, considering she nor her brother, Thoma ( @yoroiis ) are even aware they're Aria and Aelius, respectively, at this point in time. It might come up in threads eventually, it might not, but right now, she's just Sera, and always will be. <3

I've also been doing some work on a few sideblogs, both to here and @thundertide, that should be popping up soon - And then I do really plan on getting my FF multimuse and Cody and Lia back up and running, too - Just as soon as I can work out some issues I've been having there behind the scenes.

There's more I planned to note here but I'm drawing a blank, so... Time to go chill and hopefully remember it later. XD

How do you think the turtles from ROTMNT would deal with their feelings if they were in love with someone (be it human, mutant, Yokai, etc.)?

Oh man... Hmmm...

I really hope that wouldn't be a problem if I mostly ramble about Leo (I'M SORRY GUYS THE BLUE TURTLE LIVES IN MY MIND RENT FREE), and maybe a couple of words about the rest. I'll also be talking about both young and adult Leos, so, here we go.

I'll give short opinions on other turtles before Leo:

Donnie: Would be neglecting his feelings and emotions at first. Even though, in my opinion, he was established as the one prone to romance, I think when he'd actually feel anything towards anyone, he'd be really conflicted, because it's one thing to see this stuff on the TV and all, and another when it's in real life. But once he'll deal with all this mess in his head, he's a real gentleman.

With Raph and Mikey I'm going to refer to @souperwrites words, I hope they don't mind xd

"Mikey is confident and lovey dovey." And I totally agree with it. I feel like he would be the one who'd have the least problems with his feelings.

"Raph is shy but very genuine in his affection but also super nervous because of his size and the potential harm he could cause without meaning to." But honestly, I think my friend @daysofmoron could also give their opinion, since they love the red turtle. xd OKAY, NOW MY BOY LEO.

If start with young Leo, in the show he was always all "EWW!" whenever any sign of romantic love is shown, be it Big Mama and Splinter or Warren and Hypno (at least I remember them being all cuddly, and Leo's was just barfing at them on the background), but I imagine once his own heart goes "doki-doki" for Y/N (let it be Y/N or "you" for now), he's a total mess at first. Remember that episode when they met Jupiter Jim actor, and Leo couldn't even put the syllables together? Yeah, that's him at the start, especially if Y/N doesn't know about his feelings towards them. He'll be trying to impress Y/N but since his emotions are all over the place, he messes up more than usual, maybe even ending up hurting himself (like, he'd try to impress you with his skateboarding skills, but ends up eating concrete because he's too distracted).

And here I'm going to add a bit of my own ideas, because I've been thinking of some scenarios, like, if taking that previous idea with skateboarding, or, more easily, let's take the episode "The Longest Fight" when he fell, I imagine if on the contrary from others you'd actually show any genuine concern about if he's hurt, he'd be like "Oh..." and blushing, because usually his brothers would make fun if him, and here comes in you who doesn't laugh at his failure and worries if he needs help. I think after a moment like this he could begin to feel something.

And with Future Leo HO OHO I have an entire game reference on how I imagine him handling a romance.

First of all, I think as an adult he would be more confident with his feelings if he ever feels anything towards anyone, because, well, he's an adult now, and because when you at war you kinda already went through a lot to be all this blushing mess over feeling butterflies in your stomach.

So, as a reference, whenever I thought of him in a relationship, I though of a romance with Garrus from Mass Effect. I imagine Leo being kinda awkward, trying to make jokes at first that are much more sloppy than usual. Especially if talking about Garrus, I always think of that scene from Mass Effect 2, when he comes into Shepard's room before the final mission, trying to lighten up the mood, flirt and all, but ends up just being an awkward (but adorable) mess, and saying: "I've seen so many things have gone wrong... I want something to go right. Just once. Just..."

And it's just really easy for me to imagine Leo say that. And instead of touching scars you touch his prosthetic.

And also that dialogue with Liara after "The Lair of the Shadow Broker" DLC, when she asks if you fight for giving Garrus some peace, and you say that he's been hurt and deserves something better.

But once Leo's over all the awkwardness and let himself relax, he's just enjoying this new experience with you, having fun.

This scene with Garrus and Shepard trying the "first date" thing which ends up them dancing tango together. With all the teasing and all, I can easily imagine Leo would do something like that.

Honestly, I think that's it? There are more scenes in Mass Effect with Garrus and Shepard where I could easily imagine Leo would do something like that, but it's a lot. If you know, you know, If don't, well, I hope I was able to gave you an idea.

Daniel Park (Park Hyung Seok)

This man will be the biggest simp in the whole world. Will always look at you with that puppy eyes like 🥺👉👈 halk;hkld;ahfkl;ahf I love him so much

It's canon (kind of) that Daniel doesn't give a damn about how you look like for the most part. What matters to him most is that you respect everybody and treat them equally. But since the incident with Yui kind of traumatized him from finding true love, it also left and taught him a good and knowledgeable lesson. Since Danny went through lots of character development, he learned to himself that he can't just trust someone who acts nice and that he needs to know someone better if he really likes someone.

If you already interacted with his main body and haven't judge him for his looks just like a normal person would do or if you met this cinnamon roll on middle school when he's still being bullied by that fucker Logan, if you had the balls to save him from that mf congratulations! You made him interested in you!

If you also helped him in his homework or if you insists to spend some time with him like going out to the mall, patching his bruises when the bullies beat him up or if he gets in trouble with the gangs, and helping him out like giving him advices on his worst days even on the tiny things, he'll be head over heels for you (though he stills feel guilty that you're spending your money on him but you keep reassuring him that is fine) But if you're also the broke girl he can empathize more since he also faces this issues like his mom forcing herself to work just for him. Rich or not, fat or slim, girly or tomboyish, if you're overall kind, unjudgmental yet completely honest, and generous not just to him (in both of his bodies of course) but also to everybody without wanting anything in return, then you earned this man's respect and heart ;). I also headcannon that he's more into quiet and calm women since he's easily overwhelmed by noisy people and places. But even if you're the type of extroverted woman or the introverted type, as long you're nice and helpful then you'll catch his attention.

I feel like after having his second body he'll start to have the confidence to befriend you. At first he wouldn't make things obvious since he's still shy about his feelings for you since he wants to know you even more as you show your true colors. He'll also probably going to ask some advice on Jace and Zack about approaching you since he doesn't have that much of a romantic experience xD. Since you always treat him, he'll ask you to hang out with him like going to the mall to watch movies or going to the park and eating on every food truck or stand you see but he'll bring some of your friends too like Zack, Jay, Mira, Zoe, even Vasco to hang out so things won't be obvious.

If he enjoys your company and the energy you have, he'll ask you out more but this time is just the two of you (if he has the budget). Or if you're in the same class/school as you, he'll always ask you out to eat with him on lunch too making all his fangirls jealous lol. "You want a piggyback? No problem! Need help from your homework? I'll help you out!" Or even if you don't study at the same school, he'll still ask you out privately and if you accept it Daniel would be the happiest man alive and him just being here for you every time even if he's broke or mentally unstable too lol like how you company him too. Overall just him being there for you and ready to help while being sweet (please I just need a Danny in my life lmao).

And since he's a really shy and introverted person, he's afraid of opening up about his issues and insecurities. But knowing that you're a sweet person yet you don't sugar-coat things (no pun intended), he will probably talk about it with you even when he's still afraid of him being a burden to you. But if you reached out to him first if you noticed when he's acting down and strange, he'll appreciate and love you even more. An example of this when he writes a letter to you when he ran away. Since he can't express his self with words, he decides to write his thoughts on a piece of paper while confessing his problems and probably his true feelings to you. "Y/N I don't know how to tell my thoughts in the first place but seeing Logan back when I try to run away from my problems just kills me inside. It may sound selfish to you but I felt like a burden for you and especially my mom. But I thank you for being there for me in my darkest times, when you help me out from those bullies and you don't judge me by my looks. Though I just need time for myself now. Please don't look for me. You're really a sweet and honest person and that's why I love you, and I mean it and not just for being a friend. Though I don't expect you to reciprocate my feelings it back. The larva that waits for years to be reborn as a cicada decides to return back to it's shell and to not spread it's wings. I'm sorry". You'll definitely going to cry while reading the letters and words written on the wrinkly paper if you're really close to him. As the time he returns back home just imagine hugging him and scolding him for running away. "JESUS CHRIST DANIEL! DON'T RUN AWAY LIKE THAT AGAIN YOU'RE SCARING ME!" you hugged his small and chubby form while you stain his clothes with your tears. "Y-Y/N I don't know what I was thinking. I-I'm sorry I won't do it again".

Just be a green flag in general to him whether size, shape or form he's in. And bonus points for you if you treat his mom well ;).

Zack Lee (Lee Jin Sung)

I feel like this man is insecure deep inside his tough shell. He really worked hard for his strength and in boxing to protect his friends like Mira and Johan since the cult incident. So he wouldn't be different with you if he sees you as a valuable and good person.

And remember when he's still a notorious bully and many people were afraid of him? (tbh I really hate him before when he beat Little Daniel before) I headcannon that no matter how hard he tries to be ignorant from other's comments about him he actually feels bad about the horrible things he have done yet he's still hesitant at first to change since he felt vulnerable if he listens to other people's gossip about him. Why is this so angst this is supposed to be fluff :(.

So if you tried to approach him when you noticed Zack's face had a bruise he didn't even know he has when he got into a fight, he'll be annoyed by you at first as why your talking to him. Do you know that his heart is only devoted to Mira? (Not that you're aware of so calm down boy). "Who the hell are you? Do you know that I only love Mira! She's the most beautiful person on Earth and I just can't hit on you sorry!" He continues to ramble that he likes someone else until he became speechless as you patch him with the extra band aid that you have on your pocket, you tip-toeing to reach his height as your warm and soft hands make contact with his open wounds while he froze. "I'm just trying to help and clean off your wound y'know. Don't worry I'm not hitting on you" you replied coldly yet with the same sweet tone on your voice that just makes him melt. This can't be happening, he likes Mira! She's been his crush since childhood! So why is he feelings butterflies in his stomach whenever you're near him??? (I love Mira so much but ahhhhh) Are you not scared of him? He's literally a bully in your school yet you chose to help him.

The thing is just like Daniel's preferences, what he likes about you is that you're free-spirited, you're a sweet and gentle person, honest and you're willing to help others. You also help him out with his ego-issues while giving him some constructive criticisms to work on himself. It may be a little bit hurtful on his part but he knows deep inside that you're expressing your thoughts that others can't tell to him because they're scared that he'll misunderstood it and beat them. But coming those constructive criticisms from your soft voice calms him even more and you want to bring out the best of him on his attitude. It may look like he's not listening, but trust me if he really likes you he'll lend his ears and mind for you.

Like Daniel, he'll be hesitant about his feelings first about you. Not because his insecure about himself but because he's insecure about it. He may look like a bad person on other people's eyes, he's DEFINETLY NOT THE TYPE to double-time two women. He likes Mira. Yet when he sees you eating lunch alone or just sitting on your desk on class and being quiet and minding your own business, he wants to approach and talk to you. "Wait is Mira absent? I guess sitting with Y/N in lunch won't be a bad idea." And he'll probably talk about his feelings for you to her. He's scared that if he confessed to him and you don't like like him back and that he's also going to hurt the other girl's feelings. That's why he'll conversate with the brunette. And despite liking Zack too Mira will definitely try to understand on what he's trying to say and will 100% support both of you. And Zack will also dress to impress xD. He'll flex his accomplishments to you "Y/N do you know that I'm a professional boxer? I won lots of boxing competitions y'know" he boastfully said while winking at you and being proud of himself. "But I thought you lost to Johan Seo-" "SHUT UP JIHO!" And will take you on "friendly dates" and will try to change his bad habits for him to be a good influence to you (though he will beat the sh*t out of everyone who ever tries to mess with you, not caring if you'll lecture him later).

Overall be nice, patient, be honest and understanding to him. And also take care of Zacky and he'll reciprocate it back :).

Vasco (Lee Euntae)

You know Vasco is innocent despite his gangster-looking body and face. This boy likes animals especially puppies! This man will also get superrrr excited when he sees you walking on the park with your dog (Will 100% approach you with a cute smile even if he doesn't know you lmao. It may freak you out but I told you Eun Tae is innocent so be patient about it). "Hello! Is this your dog? He looks so cute!" "Oh yeah he's a golden retriever." "Like a chihuahua?" "Oh no. Chihuahua is smaller than a golden retriever" you chuckled lightly at the tattooed male while his eyes sparkled even more as he bended down to reach the dog's height while apologizing to you about his mistake which you shrugged it off saying that it's okay. Since this man has zero percent romantic experience, he's literally going to fall fast for you. He will also introduce himself to you if you're not classmates or study at the same school since he's excited to have a girl friend (ehem) that likes animals too! If you also find him interesting and you gave him his number, he will tell everything to Jace and the other Burn Knuckles members about you all the time. "JACE! If he also notices about how you're a gentle and caring person and also likes helping others without wanting anything in return, he'll literally catch a crush on you. Being an animal lover will definitely makes you and Vasco make less tense with each other and have a very special connection with each other.

And if you also taught him to understood things in his surroundings, he'll definitely appreciate your help! You know how this man isn't really conscious on almost everything even on the little dirty things so when he doesn't know what he's doing wrong. So he'll really listen to you if you explain it to him in a detailed yet understandable statement! You don't have to be completely smart but you're intellectual thinking can also help him understand you way better. He'll also let you call him by his real name if you're really close to him. (Also I can imagine the Burn Knuckles crying and cheering when you and Vasco became a thing. Y'know the FBI cheering meme? And yes they will do the Invisible Charlotte on you lmao).

And you know how his sense of justice and helping people can also get him through hard situations sometimes? Yeah it makes you worried when his hero complex gets him in trouble despite just wanting to help others who can't defend themselves.

So imagine just patching and treating his wounds while lecturing him. "EUNTAE! YOU CAN'T JUST BE INVOLVED WITH FIGHTS EVERYDAY!" you scolded him while he tries to hold back him crying. He doesn't even know if he's going to burst down into tears because you're angry at him or because of the sting and pain he feels when the soft cotton made contact on his wounded skin. "S-So you-you're telling me that I can't defend the weak? They're literally getting bullied Y/N". you sighed as he misunderstood on what you're trying to imply while he sniffs as he can't control the liquid pouring out from his brown-colored orbs. You sat beside him as you made eye contact on his sad ones. "You know Euntae, I understood you. It's okay to help others but you can't just always get into fights with everybody. I'm worried for you y'know". "But the bad guys won't stop hurting the innocent if I don't stop them" he replied while feeling wretched. "Because that's the sad truth. But evilness has a reason to spread". "Why?" he asks innocently. "Because the world wouldn't be balanced if we don't make mistakes. We will be perfect like Gods but emotionless like robots. And the reason why evil is taking all over us is to open the eyes of others on how our own world and our own kind has become corrupted and to solve it is to help others. I have no problems of you helping out Vasco. But it makes me worried on what is going to happen to you." "That's why I'm trying to be stronger!" he cheered and stood up while his warm tears are still rolling down on his face. Jay Hong (Hong Jae Yol)

I feel like he doesn't really fall in love so easily (unless it's Daniel lol)

Since Jay is also a quiet person (who literally doesn't talk), so I bet he can't stand whiny and noisy girls (lmao pls don't attack me). I think he prefers women (if it's women ;) who leans more on the quiet and gentle side yet is still fun to talk and be around with. Video games on his apartment, hanging out in the mall or talking about fashion styles and brands are his way to go dates.

It's canon that he buys expensive gifts and brands for someone he likes so just expect him to just gave you 4 bags full of clothes and jewelry that almost anybody can't touch and buy for themselves. But despite him buying you everything that you want, he still hopes that you just don't like him because he's hot, mysterious and rich. He really wants someone who values him not just by his looks and social status. But if simple signs of helpful gestures is enough for you like him helping you out on your homeworks when you're in struggle or if you need a shoulder to cry on then Jay will be available 100%.

If you decided to approach Jay first, it's completely normal for him to be a bit shy and tense in front of you. He can really caught the attention of many women because of his beautiful features and good taste on fashion style while the other dudes just stare at him with envy. But if you really want to make friends with anybody, talking to Jay can be a challenge. Not only is that he don't literally open his mouth, he can't help but to feel nervous when a girl or literally anybody who approaches him since he's not used to it. Though after befriending him out of pure innocence and not wanting anything from him, he'll start to be more open about his interests and Jay will start to be more caring about you and just be himself in front of you and everybody else.

Just like the rest of the dudes, your sweet and warm personality can break the ice between the two of you and if he's starting to like you even more than just a friend, his affection would be more and more obvious. He will also patch you up and clean your wounds when you get hurt and he'll beat the sh*t out of everyone who tries to mess and hurt you (just like the other three boys). But he won't let you know why your bullies/enemies look like they've been used as a punching bag. He's also willing to give you his whole wallet full of cash if you can't buy your lunch (he'll still force you to take it especially if he knows you're the broke type lol).

Will probably start to learn sign language and Morse code with you so you can understood each other more lol (and talk about dumb shit a lot that only the two of you will understand lmao). But if you can already comprehend on what he's trying to express, he'll appreciate it and fall for you more considering how his close friends and family are the only ones who at least understand on what he's trying to pick up. And listen to him when he's ranting about his problems even though there are no words coming out of his mouth. He might even let out a sad whimper and a huff when he tries to suppress his feelings since he doesn't want to be seen as a burden especially in front of someone whom he really cherishes.

Just be a green flag. Don't just use him as a sugar daddy or he won't be returning the sweet treatment and attitude back at you. Actions speak louder than words after all.

I’ve been apart of the Choice/Hosted games community for years and I just want to say that your story is in my top 3!

I was literally just saying to myself that I would like an IF that really had characters that had a full life outside your character that interacts with you naturally and isn’t so heavy on the constant stats check, and I got my prays answered and MORE.

First time I played, easily I knew I was going after Hades. I played 3 other times and went after Pyri Charon and Hermes (I will be playing it again for the more Olympus type choices). But TRUST it was hard cause your girl kept wanting to go back to Hades XD.

You’re a wonderful writer and I am invested and patiently waiting for the sequel! May I ask for a few suggestions?

- Character tracking: I love that it’s not stats heavy but I think it would be great for the MC to have journal of some sort in the stats page to keep track of characters and how the MC feels about them as certain events take place. There were a lot of characters to keep track of and it was hard to remember the ones I needed to remember.

- MC Traits: I love how you kept the traits simple *chef’s kiss* but during my play throughs, I definitely tried to be extremely different and subtly different. It didn’t feel like there was a distinct diversity of negative or positive consequences for your flaws. Sometimes it felt like there were and other times I wasn’t sure if I triggered one or not. (I was playing with tone indicators off so maybe that’s why I didn’t really see a difference.) Ya girl just wants a super clumsily MC that everyone wants go catch or be annoyed with cause she’s so clumsily ahaha! Which leads me to my last suggestion~

- Character development: PACING *triple chef’s kiss* its the main reason I kept running back for more ahahaha! (Hades just fully accept me as your wife already T^T) My suggestion for this is that it did feel like the Underworld Pals were too nice. I loved that they are but I would definitely like to see them have flaws that make it reasonable for your MC to dislike them. Hiya, and thanks for the ask.

I'll take the suggestions under advisement, but fair warning: I'm probably not going to be doing anything to make the characters less 'nice.' They all do have flaws, and perhaps some of those will be getting a little more airtime in the sequel, so to speak, but I have no interest in changing their core personalities. I consider the fact that they are generally kind and understanding to be a feature of the work rather than a bug, so to speak.

It's not everyone's cup of tea, and I understand that, but I wanted to write a story about fundamentally kind people, and that's what I did.

Adding more opportunities for traits and flaws to be relevant is definitely on my list for the next game, and the character codex/journal/tracker is a suggestion I've gotten before and would like to implement in an update. I appreciate the suggestions!

Ok, so this got a little out of hand so I'm putting it under a Read More. I just love this show so much and can talk about it so much and have no other outlet for it than Tumblr. So... Here you go XD I'm keeping the first paragraph above the line break to help y'all get a peek of what I'm blabbering on about under the break. I might add more to this, who knows.

I grew up watching Star Trek Voyager. I was between the ages of 3-9 while the show was airing, so most of the episodes I remember were either reruns or episodes in the last couple seasons. It was a show my father and I watched together all the time. I'm rewatching it again now, at 32 years old. I've rewatched it before, many years ago, but watching it now, and thinking about how it shaped me as a child has lent me a very interesting perspective of the show.

Captain Janeway was always my favorite character. She was someone I looked up to, and quite possibly my very first queer awakening. I watched the show mostly for her, so it was to her I looked and her actions I paid the most attention to. What little girl wouldnt adore her? She's strong, confident, self assured. She commands her own starship with grace and kindness and compassion, but also with a fierce determination that is almost unrivaled. For a little girl with no mother in her life, no other female role model? It was no wonder I turned to someone like Captain Janeway.

Watching these episodes, and watching her protect her crew so fiercely, watch her having to make all the hard decisions in an effort to do anything to get her crew home without sacrificing her own morals or principles, her trying to make as many friends with other races as she can along the way, affected my growth in ways I'll probably never understand, but will always be thankful for.

And its not just her actions that I feel this show did so well, but the relationships between the characters. On one side, you have Janeway and Tuvok, (a topic I posted about earlier), two old friends who stand by each other through anything and everything, an unfailing and fierce loyalty to each other that is a delight to behold. On another you have Janeway and Chatokay. Two people who used to be enemy captains who eventually see in each other something profoundly different. Their loyalty to each other is new, and takes time to grow at first, but, in my opinion, is no less fierce than it is between her and Tuvok. In her, Chakotay sees a future and perhaps salvation for himself. Its a beautiful relationship that never steps past the threshold of "what could have been." It feels like decades are left unsaid between them, and as a member of the audience I used to think that was tragic. I was so upset that they didnt get together when I was a child, but now? Its a relationship more media needs, in my opinion. They respect each other very much, and want the other to be happy, but they never quite take that extra step. Its a wonderful depiction of friendship between two people of the opposite sex. I dont remember if something like that was common in the 90s, but I feel like modern media has completely ignored this kind of relationship. They're too busy pairing off all the lead male and female characters. Seeing a relationship like Janeway and Chakotay is so important for people to see.

And then there's the crew. I finished watching Revelations just a bit ago. This episode, out of all the episodes Voyager ever aired, was the one episode I never forgot about growing up. The crew love Captain Janeway so immensely, they were willing to face down what could have almost been certain death (or worse) in order to get her back on the ship. Janeway's ship, previously running like a well oiled machine, was breaking apart at the seams without her. Their love, and their loyalty for their captain, and their willingness to do anything for her just like she's willing to do anything for them, is such a heartwarming relationship.

Watching this show so young, during such formative years, its no wonder I turned out so much different than my conservative father. I can only speculate on why he watched the show, but very little of it would be flattering. I doubt he saw the same things I did, or internalized them in any way similarly to me. I feel like Voyager had a powerful and profound message of friendship, loyalty, strength of character, determination, and the importance of kindness and never giving up. I'm so very glad this was one of the shows I got to grow up with, and I wish more shows were like it.

Beginning by the beginning (3)

Miles rides his way to the trap, because we as readers can see it's a trap. This is stellar storytelling because we know something is gonna happen but not what exactly so it makes you even more invested.

"But he'd known that would be part of the game when he'd demanded to play." Possible reference to the title. Although in all chances this was written before the book was titled. Either way, I like it!!

Let me tell you, "Miles almost dies drowned in slow-quick-sand" was not in my bingo card for this book. Then again, this is McMaster "Here's a horseback chase in my sci-fi book" Bujold. I do not really have a bingo card for this book, it'd be pretty useless I fear.

Metzov. It'll take a bit for me to remember his name but I'll get to it eventually, specially if he insist on being an ass to Miles. And also women. "Miles wondered sourly if the general would then agree that a woman armed in a technological war might as well be a man."

Miles spoke through his teeth, words jerked out as though by pliers. "Would you have preferred the interview you'd be having right now if I'd permitted myself to freeze, sir?"

Ouffffff, that's some great great dialogue. See, this is why I love Miles.

"He'd simply have to avoid Metzov as much as possible for the next six months." <- Sounds like something that will go very wrong to the point of being funny on a reread but I'll have to wait to be sure.

And thus we are up to date! Because otherwise this post will be shorter than the previous two, I'll add here some fun facts about when I started reading this series:

I say that I'll eventually remember Metzov because one of my first thoughts when reading "Shards of Honor" was "Man, I have to remember this book's title because it I have to search it by its Vor-whatever saga name, I'll never be able to find anything because it's so hard to remember". Cut to me now knowing by heart pretty much all the Barrayaran family trees that have been explained so far. (Though I still sometimes confuse Vorhalas with Vortala but that's the only thing).

This all was because I took the books out the library randomly, I had never heard of this series before but hey, it was sci-fi and the cover looked pretty. (I've come to know that this series isn't really graced with covers as cool as it deserves but here, see? This one was cool enough to pull me in).

I also didn't realize "Lois" was a mostly exclusively female name and then had an "Oooooooh, that actually makes a lot of sense" moment when I finally became invested enough to google the author. Canon FMA fan moment, anyone?

🧡 physical health >> I walked a good bit today, there was a kind of fun day at a park and so I went there with a friend and it was SO MUCH FUN!

I went with K today on a single ride 6 or 7 times and it was amazing! So so much fun, we were screaming our heads off (it the one in the middle picture) and enjoying the music and the slightly sick feeling of being spun round at 100mph. It also felt really freeing to just scream and really funny whenever I'd say 'wee' in a childish tone whenever we'd start spinning in the seats again. We went to her house afterwards, had food, watched Emperor's New Groove (1 & 2) and had way too much fun texting out friend from each other's phones. It was an amazing start into summer.

More updates about this last week:

My exams went quite well I think. There is a couple I might have to retake next year but we'll see whenever I get the grades (I'm praying to God they're all A's or at least high B's). I'm quite happy with how they went tho and mostly proud of the revision I've done for them (I have really died down the revision in the last week and was so tired—physically and mentally— of it all)

I've been falling into some depression-related habits on this past week, sleeping in way too late and constantly, not taking care of myself, being really tired in the evenings and just wasting away the afternoons on my phone & isolating. I am already better and I know I'm working to keep being better. I'm really proud of myself for how quickly I'm bouncing back from that

I wrote some more in my journal recently and started writing out some goals for this year's summer! I would like to write at least some of them out on a post here soon and properly reflect on the list.

My parents had a conversation with my the other day about how I'm allowed to get a part-time summer job this year! I'm really excited, it would be good for me in many ways plus it'll keep me slightly more busy in these next 3 months which is good

I also got my driving licence!! Woo!!

I'm talking with my friends more often and really bonding with them too. We're getting a lot more comfortable around each other too (and the friendly flirting sessions we sometimes have are just so fun XD). We are going to make a good few plans for meeting up over the summer.

After the last exam I talked to another friend, A, while waiting for our buses and I forget how much I love having them as a friend. It was really nice to hear more about them and how she's been doing and her plans for the summer. I'm hoping to meet them sometime next week after their Birthday.

This might be it for now.. If I can remember anything else major that's happened I'll make another post to add to this.

We've seen how strongly J is against the idea of killing, so what would she think of people like Mukuro or Maki, who have the taking of lives as an essential aspect of their talents? Of course, assume that for whatever reason she ends up finding out and/or sees past their "pretending to be Junko" and "Ultimate Child Caregiver" facades. If there's anyone else you're familiar with who would qualify for this category, feel free to include them too!

I find it kinda funny that you bring up J specifically, as if "strongly disliking murder" isn't by far the majority opinion xD But to actually answer the question... well she probably wouldn't like them very much. I'll go over everyone in canon DR who has a talent related to killing + the mms.

CWs: Murder, (implicit) terrorism, organized crime, abuse (Mukuro)

-Junko: J would despise her, no nuance. Not that I blame her.

-Mukuro: The angle that Mukuro was abused by her sister into helping her with all the Bullshit would garner a bit of sympathy from J, but she wouldn't find Mukuro's actions in the Tragedy justifiable at all, and wouldn't forgive Mukuro for them. I... forget what the actual situation was with Fenrir pre-Tragedy though, so I don't know how J would feel about that. Probably wouldn't like it either, though.

-Genocider Syo: J would obviously despise Syo, nothing to discuss there. The more interesting question is how she'd feel towards Toko. I don't think they'd get along for reasons unrelated to the murder (Toko can be pretty unpleasant and J doesn't take any shit, plus Toko's obsession with Byakuya might be a bit too close to Arturo's feelings towards J for comfort), but I do think J would ultimately feel sorry for her, and wouldn't blame her for Syo's actions. Maybe. I'm not too sure on this one.

-Fuyuhiko: Yakuzas are connected to murder, and Fuyuhiko killled Sato directly, so J probably wouldn't be too happy with him. Add to that that Fuyuhiko is loud and aggressive (mainly before his character arc), a kind of people J also dislikes in general, and J would probably just do her best to ignore him because of how much she'd dislike him.

-Peko: I don't remember if Peko's ever explicitly killed anyone, but she's still part of the yakuza. J would probably be disappointed to find that out, since I actually think they'd get along well if it weren't for the crime thing. Maybe J would try to get her to stop doing crime so they can hang out without issue, idk.

-Remnants of Despair: They were all brainwashed, right? I don't actually know how J would feel about it, given how horrible the shit they did was, but she could probably end up forgiving those she'd get along with without the brainwashing. You know, after the brainwashing fades, because she wouldn't get along with any "active" Remnant.

-Izuru: Didn't kill anyone before the Tragedy, so although I think he'd probably creep J out a bit, I don't think she'd hate him or anything. Until the Tragedy happens, and then she fucking hates the dude.

-Warriors of Hope: I have no fucking idea, sorry :p

-Ryoma: Given Ryoma only killed a bunch of people who had killed his entire family, I think J would be a bit more forgiving towards him, but would still ultimately dislike what he did. That said, unlike with a lot of the others, I think she could still be civil towards him, and get along with him well enough, even after knowing what he did.

-Korekiyo: If you grabbed everything that J could possibly hate, other than being a loudmouth, and you put it all in one person, you'd get Korekiyo. She'd fucking hate the guy.

-Maki: J would be devastated to know about her real talent, because I think they could get along very well if it weren't for the murder. I think J would just choose to distance herself from Maki in general after learning her talent, since I doubt she'd be able to justify talking to an active murderer like her.

-Tsumugi: J would hate her, no nuance. Of course.

Well, that was fun. I'm not too confident on some of these assessments, since I don't feel I have the clearest read on J's character, but oh well. Thanks for the ask!

Sorry, no drawings (it's late here qwq), but i'll add them later when i have a chance. Anyway let's start:

1. Sure! I haven't come up with any names for them yet, so i'll call them MM for short.

-MM is a funny mentor. They are charismatic jokester with laid-back personality and can be slightly annoying. MM loves stealing Grandma's buns whenever they have a chance, but it always ends the same - them being caught red-handed.

-One time MM tried to send Mushroom to get buns, but Grandma quickly figured it out and scolded them later. Mushroom was rewarded with extra buns that day.

-MM didn't want to be a veteran actually and never wanted to adopt a moth. They thought it was too much work and problems to deal with, but we all know they adopted Mushroom later on.

-MM has a mentor of their own! Or more like a parent than mentor. You could see them in chapter 6 in the background. ^^

-MM was inspired by my very first time trying to play Sky when it was just a demo version on steam. I wasn't able to play it bcs... I couldn't see anything. XD (Also yeah i didn't watch the first cutscene, so i only saw it later.) + stories from other players with veterans.

2. Right, the rumors are mostly about him being rude towards other skykids. It's actually a bit of misunderstanding.

Red tried to help one skykid to open the door and that skykid got pushed to the side by a small group. It made Red angry, so he started to honk aggressively at them. Sadly, someone he knew saw it and just told others to not interact with him.

3. Most likely, no. Prince thinks they hate him for leaving, so he thought it would be better to move with new friends.

But he misses them. After all, all of them were moths back then.

4. Oh, it's just my small headcanon. Like in a game you can give your friend a name/nickname, so I thought what if whenever skykid falls, they already have a name. (It could be Megabird who gave them or they just naturally know their name. They can change it freely.)

So nicknames are something their friends/mentors or themself can come up with.

Mandela cuff tut w/photos: 3

Hi there!! I'm Reece, and today I'll be teaching you how to make a Mandela cuff XD

I don't know if this counts as art, but I'm saying it does LOL.

This is my first tutorial, so please feel free to lmk if I can improve anything: 3

First you need at least 5 colours in a gradient. You can use as many beads as you like, but I'm limited on beads today, so I'm using 4.

I chose dark orange, light orange, yellow, and white.

The items I used is;

- pony beads [ofc]

- something to cut the cloth elastic with [I used a knife, but I encourage you to use scissors]

- cloth elastic [at least 3 meters of it]

- and lastly, I used a tapestry needle to help "sew' the cuff together.

You'll want to start by making a basic X base cuff [the tut I used is linked here] You should use your darkest and second-darkest colors on this part; it'll make sense later.

Now that you've finished the base of the Mandela cuff, it's time to make it interesting! [AKA; 3d spikes]

you'll want to thread into one of your lighter colored beads, known as connector beads in this case. Do this the whole way around. remember to keep your elastic pulled tight for this part!

[side note; I realize my colours look like candy corn lol]

You'll want to get your second darkest, your middle and your second-lightest colour here. Basically just follow the photos but with your own pallet.

Once you've done that, tie off and thread your string into the point [in this case the white bead].

You'll be making the lower half of the spike now, so use the darker colour [orange] and the lighter one [yellow] and thread into the lower orange bead on the cuff.

Just like that! [My cuff is upside down in this image, but it doesn't really matter, as long as you're copying the pattern] now do that all the way around.

once it's done you'll have lovely 3D spikes.

for the final step, get 5 beads of your lightest colour and string them through the points on your spikes.

and then you're done! a lovely mandela cuff to enjoy. you can infitely make these bigger, with each X you add onto the base X cuff you'll be able to do more rows of spikes [as long as it's an even number] have fun!

The reason I still recommend the story is because it got exactly that complicated stockholm syndrome and manipulation going on that you want, and the story dives right into that with the first chapter. Idk, I'll be so bold to throw in my own fic here, even though I don't know if it falls even remotely under your parameters. It's definitely not a darkfic. But it's dealing with complicated feelings Obito has and it's veeeeery short. Sfw.

This is my secret tip where I don't give a hoot about the parameters. xD Read any fic that's by enquiring_angel!!!!!!!! Just scroll through the madaobi tag on ao3 and if you see that name, click on it. She has such an amazing grip on the characters, I love her writing so much.

Secret tip: use online translator to read fic

Madaobi has a lot fans in the Chinese community on ao3. Can’t read Mandarin? Use a translator! Often the result will be a bit clunky but I found that once you get used to it, your brain can bridge the gap (like names that get messed up by the translator, or any grammar/sentence structure issues). There are some real gems out there. <3

Finally:

Otherwise, I can only recommend looking on ao3 by yourself. If you filter out any languages you can’t read (and maybe add some tags you prefer), the number of madaobi fics is small enough and not too overwhelming to navigate. (There are probably some fics I missed because I didn’t read them/they’re not up my alley, but might be to your liking?)

Steeping

This one's a sort of feel-good distant sequel to this fic! I felt some healing was in order after how intense the previous one was XD

There's a lot of details I'm not sure of yet, so I glossed over some of them ^^"

Summary: While recovering in the blessed realm (after disastrously trying to turn himself into a wraith), Callonduin attempts to make amends with someone he had a falling out with. (Takes place in the Fourth Age after Elrond sails) Relationships: Elrond & Callonduin (a dynamic I don't mention often!)

When Elrond entered his library in Valinor, kettle of boiling water in hand, he sensed a presence hiding nearby. Keeping his wits about him despite knowing he was safe in these lands, he began to prepare a pot of tea.

“There's no need to hide,” he said, spooning fragrant leaves into the teabag. “My schedule is clear nowadays. I will entertain company.”

“I didn't think you'd want to see me so early into your retirement.”

The former Lord of Imladris stalled in his movements, recognizing his guest’s voice. He turned to see none other than Callonduin Gladhellon standing partially obscured by the door to the balcony. Elrond regarded the other Elf’s appearance, noting the light blue robes worn by the patients of the healing halls not far from where he and his wife settled. Callonduin’s dark brown hair fell loose past his chest, neither braided nor adorned. Though he kept a docile expression, Elrond didn’t miss the slight pinch to his features, and the way he pulled at the sleeve of one arm.

The last time Elrond saw him, the younger Elf was flitting in and out of the Seen world, a wraith’s shriek tearing out of his throat. 

Callonduin broke eye contact for a moment and licked his lips. “We uhm... didn't part on good terms.” He brought his gaze back to Elrond, this time more resolute. “If you're open to it, I'd like to iron things out. Say my piece. Then I’ll leave you alone. Forever, if you like.”

Elrond said nothing, instead beckoning Callonduin forward with his hand. 

The younger Elf entered, though he maintained a relatively large distance between himself and his former Lord. 

“I'm sorry for what I did,” Callonduin began. “You didn't deserve that. Your family didn't deserve that. You had nothing to do with Calarphain's death, but I wanted to hurt you anyway, and that was real shitty of me.” 

Callonduin spoke with a rehearsed eloquence, yet there was a meekness and uncertainty to his tone. Elrond chose not to respond for the moment, remembering the events that led up to their falling out, and letting the younger’s apology wash over him. 

“Also... Rivendell's great.” Feeling like his time to speak was running out, Callonduin hastily decided to add anything else he’d like to say should this be the last time he got to speak to Elrond. “It was a privilege to grow up there. And I know I don't need to tell you but, you did a good job. I don't do well with authority… but you're alright. I wouldn't have served any other.”

Elrond nodded and found himself swallowing a lump in his throat. “I appreciate your words more than you think,” he said sincerely. “Only I wish it had been in my power, and my realm's, to give you what you needed. So it wouldn't have ended the way it did.”

Callonduin shrugged, feeling none of the resentment he had in the past. “Life, I guess. But hey, I'm getting better now, right? And I hope you get the rest you deserve now that you’re here.” 

Elrond hummed and poured hot water into the pot, along with the teabag. He allowed the tea, and his thoughts, to steep, taking the time to think on Callonduin’s journey from the valley he was born in, to these blessed lands where he now healed.

“My offer from before still stands,” he said. “Come talk to me whenever you'd like.” Then he turned to Callonduin with a small, kind, smile. “Tea?” 

Callonduin smiled back but declined. “Thanks, but I have this group thing in an hour. I'll definitely come bother you again though. See you.” 

The Gladhellon brought a hand to his chest then hopped over to the balcony, bracing himself over the side. Elrond checked just in case and sure enough, was met with the sight of two identical-looking Elves skipping off into the distance, very much reminding him of his own twin sons he left back in Middle Earth.

He shook his head and poured himself a cup of tea.

one wants to see ROs get their memories back. because the angst? the angst would be soo good. from ranges of MCs oh! they remember me! to I'm so sorry you have to remember all of that!, ROs realising why MC reacted the way they did in the beginning and then all other things that could come up with remembering.

and then there's the other wolf, the one that wishes ROs never remember their past lives. because what happened was too much. they're all my little blorbos and I refuse any more harm done their way. they deserve happiness and happiness only! (⁠ ⁠≧⁠Д⁠≦⁠)

anyway, I won't ask which way you want to go with the story, no need to fish for spoilers, right? either way, I know it'll be good and I cannot wait for future chapters!

(I am curious about one thing tho: will the MC have time to properly mourn their past lives (and deaths)? because with all that revenge and dying thing going on it's hard for me to believe MC had time to mourn in their past life. and it's hard for me to imagine them starting anything with current!RO while still seeing ghosts of the past...)

I love how you refer two wolves fighting in you XD But yep - sounds like a dilemma that MC will have in the future as well. Maybe interacting with the gang a bit more would help you come to a conclusion with your inner fight over this (or make it even more painful - of which case I'm sorry XD)

(And to answer this part: MC did have time to mourn...Properly is a bit of a hard word to describe though because MC, even after 5 years, still have troubles accepting their deaths. The ghosts of the past are mainly MC's trauma and hallucinations, just desperately trying to see them alive and breathing.

But given how Chapter 1 has ended, MC won't be having any hallucinations anymore. While they can be in disbelief of the gang being alive, they know in their very soul that the ROs are very much alive - even more so after a scene MC will have with Syl once she learns of MC passing out :x)

Null is not Aware. in general. However funny as that answer is this really did make me think so I'll try to answer it real style too shdhds

Null doesn't remember anything before the last 2 years or remember how they came about. Someone existed prior to that, now that person does not exist in living memory anymore, and Null is-not in her place. I don't think it has a concept of its age...? Since it only recently has developed a concept of being a thing that is alive, due to having been killed before. Null has very little internal dialogue that doesn't surround the feeling of hunger and emptiness and schemes to fill it, and no sense of identity to speak of outside of that, so the sense of being abnormal compared to most humans doesn't register with them much. However, by now they've probably realized that most people have a birthday and parents and a childhood, and from very early on they realized people like it when they appear to be like Most People.

So, if you asked Null about its background, you'd probably get a patched together mix of the information of others that it's heard and filed away. It wouldn't take an especially careful ear to realize that none of it adds up. References to moving from the Surface at age 18 clash with anecdotes of living in the Neath as a child, and if pressed for an age you'd swear you heard tell of a birthday party they hosted with a number that exceeded the one they just gave you. If you are positioned to be talking to Null, you are probably either too polite or too disinterested to pry. ...Or too confused. Most likely too confused.

(...or it will make you want to talk to them more to find out what's going on. Bad idea, overall.)
