I am deeply invested in the idea where the reader does something to severely piss Simon off, like it gets to a point where he has to step away to cool his head. So he just ends up grabbing her by the back of her neck and roughly jerking her towards Johnny’s cage and shoving her in it.

She goes to open her mouth— only Simon shakes his head slowly and crouches down in front of the cage. He watches them with dark eyes, radiating anger and it’s enough to get reader to be quiet, heart racing in their chest.

Simon tells them that if they speak without permission then he’ll gag them. Reader watches in confusion as he just chucks a thin blanket over the cage and just leaves.

Readers panicked at this point because Simon was the predictable one, Simon had a pattern— one he wasn’t following. Instead he’s set one rule for them, leaving them unbalanced, hesitant and scared. They don’t want to test him, not with the cold way he looked at them. So they do what he says and sit quietly without saying a word. Eventually you drift off.

(Simon checks you later, something softening just slightly at when he pulls the sheet back a bit to see you fast asleep. He muses to himself that he’ll have to get another muzzle, one your size.

Meanwhile he has to come up with a suitable punishment and waits for Johnny to get home.)

comes back what must be hours later, a little calmer now. tugs the blanket off and looks down at your trembling form with a tightness around his lips. feeds you dinner through the bars with his fingers, lets you sip from a water bottle a little. covers you back up. ignores whatever you try and says, doesn't say a word in return

the next time the blanket is lifted it's johnny, crouching onto the floor in front of you so you're on eye level. looks real sympathetic but also real condescending :( coos to you to hold on til morning, he'll give you all the cuddles you want when your punishment is over. simon snaps at him to get in bed unless he wants to spend the night with you

prefacing the rest of this post by saying: i used my young gods au design for al, river's (@/everythingwasalreadypicked) god au designs for percy and annabeth, and the story/AU is technically phoenix's (@/phoenix--flying), so elements of the story and design don't entirely belong to me

anyway, the original idea was annabeth (a mortal) making a kind of a 'deal with the devil' with alabaster (an exiled/fallen god); he'll help with her ambition of achieving immortality if she basically becomes his right-hand in getting revenge on percy (the god who took his place when he fell from the heavens).

the thing, is im still wrangling with if i will push through with this exact storyline, and what i really want from the comic, given that it's like a hybrid of different people's ideas HAHAHAHAHAHA because idw it to be too similar to the others' to the point of stealing etc. idk im kinda anal about these things if yall havent noticed lmaooo.

also im still trying to visualize/storyboard annabeth and al's conversation in a way that looks more dynamic and wont just end up with me drawing faces, close-ups of features, and them standing around. but yes im determined to do it because 1) I FUCKING NEED FOOD, and 2) its going to be a sort of a challenge to myself since im usually a character portrait kind of drawer

I have to admit, so far this is one of my all time favourites. The comedic timing, the very real story line, the confrontation of previously opposed characters? Wonderful. But the pièce de résistance? Crosshair’s character description rings true again. “Severe and unyielding” Tech had said. I’ve rambled about this a lot recently, but the boiled down version is that when Crosshair commits to something, he commits all the way. Like how he committed to the Empire so hard that he hunted down his brothers. Or when he finally decided the Empire was a bunch of shitbags and shot officer shitbag (I forget his name) in the face. He has now decided to commit to Omega, for whatever reason. And it shows. Because even when she tells him to go, he’s literally only a minute behind her. He lets her employ her own strategies despite his preference and experience. He’s ready to beat up Captain Dickhead (did they even give him a name?) for sitting down across from her. He tells her to get into the ship first while he lays down cover fire.

Crosshair’s next “severe and unyielding” decision is Omega’s safety. And I couldn’t be more excited to see where it goes!

AND I cannot believe how much I suddenly like his character. I was so disinterested in him for like s1 and maybe 90% of s2 but now I am more interested in what becomes of him than I am in what the deal is with Omega’s M-count.

I’m saying it now. These seasons hyper focuses are: Rex, Echo and Crosshair (in that order) (for now, we’ll see)

thinking about how both young vash and nai relate to food... they have opposite needs, but it must be an isolating experience for both of them. nai is different from vash and rem, vash is different from nai and other plants... they're both in between humans and plants without really belonging to either.

nai specifically, though... he doesn't seem happy that rem made him food, but it might be equally isolating if he was the only one who didn't get served food... so it's awkward either way. rem did the best she could.

He was really anxious in his seat honestly, every time he saw you through the monitors. He just wanted you to stay alive til the very end (mainly because he's got a fat crush on you for a long time).

There were so many instances where he almost bumped into you, but he would go the other way or when he saw another classmate almost get to you, he would distract them. He made sure nothing happened to you.

You can imagine how pissed off he was when he was pulled out of the game in the middle, having you left to fend for yourself.

So when he saw Haknyeon tackle you down to the floor through one of the CCTVs in the room, his heart nearly exploded out of his chest.

But when he saw what Haknyeon did to you after nearly killing you, an all fours with your ass up, your desperate face trying to keep quiet but your eyes rolling back from the pleasure, the cum just gushing out of your tight hole... well let's just say he couldn't help but touch himself thinking that was him giving you all that pleasure. 21. Can you accurately predict how long your fics are going to be? If you can, what's your secret?

Hahahahahaha NO. I absolutely cannot predict the length of my fics. I thought my old Maximoffs Crimson Peak AU would be, idk, maybe 9k? (It's 23k). I thought my Perc'ahlia Soulmate AU would be a oneshot (it is not). I thought I could do Ghost Cass as a oneshot! (it is a multi-part series). I consistently underestimate how long my fics are gonna be until I get towards the end and can reliably go "Oh, I have two-three more scenes to hit, and then it's done". Before that point? Absolutely not.

28. Any writing advice that works for you and you feel like sharing?

I have a few go-tos!

Vary sentence length both to keep things interesting and to measure the intensity of a scene

(Relatedly, read poetry, because it encourages you to be creative with word choice and sentence structure)

Learned from @tobermoriansass: If you get stuck, go back and delete or remove the last couple lines. Usually the problem is a little ago.

Also from tobermoriansass: When you pause writing, pausing mid-sentence can help you get back into the swing of writing easier. (I am bad at this one because it needles my brain but it DOES help precisely because of the needling).

From @deweydecibelsystem: vignette styles! All those Maximoff fics I did in Vignette style with numeralled sections? I stole that style entirely from Niamh because it let me just jump from scene to scene without worrying too much about connective tissue. It got me to write more than any other one thing.

And lastly, the one which gives me all my ideas and keeps me going: always ask why, what purpose does this serve, and what implications does this provide. Thinking about why characters do what they do, what their actions mean and speak to about themselves can spur a great deal of fic.

31. What was the most difficult fic for you to write (but in the end you made it)?

I... don't know? Most of the time if I get an idea there's some underlying part which compels me and makes writing easier, even fun. There are parts of fics I struggled on but like... I mean there's one oneshot I did for something I don't like and put off writing but that wasn't difficult it just felt kind of bland to me so I procrastinated more out of lack of personal hooks to the premise than because it was difficult.

So.. yeah, I think there's more parts of fics I've found difficult or cases where my drive has run low and I've needed a break, but I don't think I've ever found any one particular fic difficult to write.

what i can tell you is that i ran it as fancy uncle chucklefuck's god

which had sucked everyone else into a horrible dreamscape built from their memories, where it forced them to confront said memories as a means of repairing itself and shoring up its protections

bc cards on the table, the god was in actual real danger of the "dreamscape invaded by a shadowy vampiric minion of Strahd" variety

I've been invited to a book club, yay! But the book is question is one of the worst I've ever read (started it as an audio book, which was seriously god awful so I switched to speed read it). Now when I was invited they asked if I read, and I hesitated.... because I read a lot and love it, but I only read fanfiction. It's insane to me that I had to pay $20 for this really bad "best-seller" book, when on the flip side there is this world of amazing writers like yourself churning out delicious fics, like novel length absolutely free and it's got depth, character development, beautifully written smut.

Idk man but this is why I don't read romance books, they really suck. I solely scour ao3. But so now my question, how do I casually bring up that I love to read, and read a lot but I tend to only read fanfic??

BTW the new chapter I think was my favorite so far, and my favorite part was vegas proudly telling pete he didn't have a gage reflex, my king

Oh congrats anon!! I’ve actually been planning to join one myself- lots of fun!! Oh no sorry the book was bad! I promise there is great published work out there you’ve just go to find it.

I often find too that I’m not always 100% in agreement for other peoples reviews on books too on places like goodreads and stuff so it does make it harder to find the books that appeal to you. But I promise it’s very possible!! Yeah fanfic is different because you have a lot more variety than in published works (like across the board too in skill, plot, diversity of characters etc) and that can often be more appealing esp if you’ve got brain worms for a specific character or pairing.

But honestly the two mediums have a lot to offer even if they are a little bit different. Honestly don’t feel ashamed to admit to reading fanfic there’s nothing wrong with that and anyone who does have certain reactions to that well it’s more telling of what kind of person they are then what you are. So have fun enjoy what you like!

Does your bookclub allow suggestions? Why don’t you offer a book that you’ve previously enjoyed to the group for the next one? If that’s not a possibility then maybe you should consider joining a fanfic club or making one with your friends! (I’m sure there’s plenty of those in existence).

Totally up to you anon!! Bring it up however feels most comfortable. Tell them about the medium that you’re reading the fanfic about if that helps! You can very easily get a feel for the kind of environment the bookclub is by their response so no stress either way

Ok so I finished watching shadow and bone hahahahahaha hahahaha I'm so fucking dead. Their acting was amazing it killed me i love it I want season 3 right fucking now. I can go on about how good this was.

But on the other hand I have some issues with it but ig what they did is for the people who haven't read the books but it's kinda sad I won't lie .

Kaz blurting out his origin story in front of everyone is smth that will never happen. Because the mf

1) haven't dealt with his issues so him blurting out is fucking 0

2) he won't and doesn't admit anything. About his past or present

3) he literally told everyone he was birthed by ketterdam so like him admitting they were farm boys and stuff is not smth he'll say out loud

4) he won't like people knowing cause that is leverage against him. And a calculatung mf like him won't blurt out his past or his weakness or the reason for his vengeance

They kinda made him soft but that's also understandable .( Freddy's performance was fucking outstanding)

Then Wylan's past. The only person's back story that we don't know except maybe Matthias. I wanted his back story badly. He's one of my favs.

Inej's past even though it's mentioned I wish we had more info scenes for it I won't lie. (Amita killed it marry me pls)

Jesper and nina needed some more time back story. Idk I want them to have more screen time

And the crows interactions was also limited I want more 😭

Their trauma's aren't shown that much (like the issues they have because of it) but it's like that for all the books to series adaptations

Pekka not backing down after his son got threatened is also smth that was kinda disappointing but ig we'll see more of him in next season. Hope Kaz kills him though

On a more exciting note we are going to get our lovely crooked kingdom plot and I for one can't fucking wait.

(And I haven't as of yet thought of more criticism I need to see it again but it's more of the writer's fault and Netflix's fault than the actors)
