something i really like about calico jack, professor natquik and ranger marsh is how they all reveal themselves by emerging from the darkness, a cave or a bush. it’s a small thing but i find it really interesting :3

THIS! i think a lot of the reason people misinterpret the alpha kids SO OFTEN is because they... never really got conclusive arcs? mainly jane and jake but dirk to a lesser extent (i think roxy was the exception tbh. a void player becoming their best self in a void session. i could go on)

like, especially from an epilogue standpoint. you see these characters never get an end to their arcs and then suddenly they’re being wildly flanderized. and you just think “okay” because they NEVER BECAME THEIR BEST SELVES IN CANON.

and it sucks because the alpha kids have SO MUCH potential as characters! i wanna see jane deal with corporate disillusionment! i wanna see jake learn to establish boundaries! i wanna see dirk learn to accept that other people care about him! don’t just leave their arcs half finished and them completely ruin their characters!!!

we deserved more of them fr :/
