Big reminder that your country is not immune to bigotry. I've seen so many people, for example, pretend like antisemitism doesn't exist in the USA because we were part of the allied forces in WWII (of course, they conveniently don't remember that we rejected jewish refugees when WWII broke out and we only really joined because Pearl Harbor was bombed, but I digress).

If you think your country is immune from antisemitism, racism (including anti-Indigenous racism), class issues, ableism, whatever else it may be, look deeper because you will find it.

All for One: All Might, why aren't you following the comic book tropes. Everybody knows the mentor is supposed to die in a blaze of glory to spur the pupil onto greatness.

But well, All for One didn't raise Shigaraki to be independent. He did the opposite of that quite frankly. He raised Shigaraki as a Yoichi substitute (whom he never allowed to be independent) and as a future vessel and conduit for hatred. And it shows. Shigaraki didn't take much initiative in the following arcs until the narrative forced him to do so (by killing or kidnapping one of his friends (Magne and Giran)).

And on another note, All for One's inclusion of both Shigaraki and Izuku in his own "now, it's your turn" is ominous. It might just be cementing the narrative foils and foreshadowing Izuku and Shigaraki's future confrontation, but it could be more than that

I was talking a bit about this but I think part of the reason iterators are designed as these small little doll-like puppets is both to humanize and dehumanize them by the Ancients. The puppet, at is core, is a means for communication with a great biological machine- to give it a face and features and ground it as you ask its advice or it's progress. This massive, world-altering creation simplified down to this little thing that had all the features of a person. But its also small, cute, Ancient-like but clearly not an Ancient itself. They're colorful and simple, like a toy for children. And I think thats largely how Ancients saw them- often not as a person with desires and opinions but as an extension of the Ancient's work, a personalized character that represented their cities and people, whos citizens could like them and were comprehensible to their children, but was not them- and would not reap the reward of being them when a solution was found. Each one pretty and unique to make them individuals, but not seen- truly- as individuals by many- just as parts of their cities, something under the Ancients. Like if every town had its own personal My Little Pony they could ask advice on where the next community center should be built.

I cant express how much I NEED to see Grian on the Imp & Skizz Podcast, I’m not fucking with you I’m going insane. I need fifteen hours of that man to talk and provide long conversation about anything and everything he enjoys doing, how his journey in YouTube was, his stories of Maui and Pearl, his friendships with the Hermits, ANYTHING.

I love learning facts about my favourite CCs, and not in a parasocial or creepy way, I swear, but I love the long streams of his where he just talks to chat while he grinds for diamonds or end busts. A lil chin wag with a friend, fun moments, chill vibes with someone who just enjoys to talk about things. Simple things. He could talk me through how to make a Victoria sponge cake and I’d be content. More Hermitcraft geoguessr with Scar? YES Absolutely. Endbusting with Iskall? Incredible. A 3 minute clip of Grian just being silly during his friends’ streams? Love it.

The mundane moments in a CCs content is like falling asleep to your parents reading you a bedtime story. Like an audiobook.

I hope this doesn’t sound creepy or invasive, because I truly don’t want personal information, I just want to know his thinking process about his builds, the inspirations, how his friends gave him ideas. It’s 2:30 and I’m rambling and I want to sleep.
