Separate post 4 Watch My Back AU

Ok so I alr explained that, through a series of traumatic events, Macaque & Wukong r v co-dependent & have rlly bad separation anxiety. But I didn’t rlly explain said series of unfortunate events. (I’m viewing them as dominos bcz it makes sense 2 my ADHD Brian, so I’m gonna b calling them dominos.)

The 1st domino was actually meeting each other bcz they’ve never met another celestial monkey b4. (The other 2 lived their mortals lives & died way b4 either of them were “born”.) Wukong was instantly excited, wanting 2 know everything abt Macaque bcz “omg he’s like me but white and quiet”. Macaque was not so excited however, v used 2 ppl hunting 4 his fur coat or legendary past through future hearing. (I also have a headcanon that 6EM was born in a v small egg shaped hurricane, he was in the eye of it, & it scared off all the wildlife so he was “born” alone.) So SWK had 2 work 2 gain 6EM trust & shit, furthering their bond n stuff. Eventually 6EM agreed 2 stay

The 2nd domino was the 1st and only time some1 managed 2 actually kidnap Macaque. (6EM still left FFM occasionally tho, he may like it there but he wasn’t willing 2 give up all his freedom, never left 4 more than like 3 days tho.) 6EM may not b as strong as Wukong but he is faster and more agile, much trickier 2. So not only do u have 2 get through SWK first but you actually have 2 catch 6EM, good luck chucklefuck. I don’t know nearly enough abt the 2009 cartoon or the actual JTTW books, but I have heard abt the demon king of confusion, so until I know more I’m gonna say he was the mf who actually kidnapped 6EM. SWK got 6EM back, ofc, but this was the 1st time either had been away 4 that long since knowing each other, also the first time forcefully separated. 6EM decided he didn’t want 2 leave FFM anymore

The 3rd domino was SWK being the impulsive idiot he is, consuming like every form of immortality ever, getting dragged to Diyu and back, war ig, & being trapped under the mountain. (I should probably say that SWK learned his sick moves w/ the monks & shit b4 he met Macaque.) Obv that’s a lot 2 process, I mean, wtf? Bro literally visited all 3 realms in, like, 1 day💀. 6EM tried to save him from being literally snatched by the diamond snare but he also had 2 protect the innocent monkeys, priorities. 6EM does eventually find the mountain but he can’t remove the seal (only a certain monk can do that🙄) so he visits as often as he can, updating SWK on his subjects & shit.

4th domino, Tripitaka (and LBD & Erlang). I gotta add this conflict somewhere, like cmon, it’s iconic. 6EM sees the circlet in action, gets upset & threatens 2 throttle the monk (may b even tries) SWK stops him, insert argument. They, like the stupid stubborn idiot dumb dumbs they r, “split up” & refuse 2 talk 2 the other. Insert LBD & Erlang (Erlang gave 6EM his eye scar, 6EM also can’t die bcz his name was scribbled out during SWK’s fun adventures in hell. So when he ran in2 the fire 2 save any1 he could, he didn’t die, he was just in excruciating pain, the fire stained his fur black.), SWK & 6EM suddenly only feel safe enough when the other is there watching their back. (Clones of both the SWK & 6EM variety r watching over FFM now. Why didn’t they think of that b4? They didn’t rlly have a reason 2, and they’re only smart when they want 2 b)

5th and final domino was SWK finally, finally, coming back 2 FFM, now that they’re finally back 2 normal they’re never leaving the others side, never ever again. (Too bad Wukongs an impulsive idiot w/ 0 self preservation & a general direction 4 a certain map, also too bad LBD rlly wants a 6-eared prophet 2 read her desired destiny 2 her.)

I’ll update this when I remember more💀 (I also have literally no idea on how 2 add the brotherhood😭, I’ll figure it out)

Allison was terrible in this season, but I don’t hate the way the creators handled her??? Like, I can see where they were trying to go. To me, it seemed like they were making her regress. 

Allison’s definitely used to getting what she wants thanks to her powers. We don’t know much of how Reginald handled her throughout her childhood, but I highly doubt he gave her a lesson on ethics and the importance of ‘not using your powers for selfish reasons’. So yeah, mind control powers + lack of ethics = bad. 

Allison always used her powers to get what she wanted. It’s canon: she rumored her way into a career as a popular actress, she used her power on her daughter (which led to Patrick divorcing her and her losing custody of Claire, and it’s implied that she used her powers to initiate a relationship with Patrick ("I heard a rumor that you love me”). She only started becoming a better person in season 1 because she got a wake-up call after losing custody of Claire. She gets better in season 2, and then season 3 is where she goes downhill. 

She regresses. She goes back to her old self. 

I think the reason why she’s taking the loss of Claire so badly even though all her other sibs were traumatized by their own losses is because Allison is used to getting what she wants. She’s been that way her whole life and even though she tried to be better (season 1 & 2), the loss of Claire is too much for her to handle so she regresses back. She can’t have Claire so she lashes out at everyone, she can’t have Luther so she forces him to bend to her will (it’s no different than what she did to Patrick except what she did with Patrick was way worse since it lasted longer and she even got a whole KID out of it), she can’t have what she wants so she hurts Viktor and kills Harlan. 

I’ve seen a lot of ppl be like “you only hate her because she’s black and/or a woman” and “you guys didn’t hate Luther this much for what he did” and “Viktor killed billions of people but everyone’s so quick to defend him and hate on Allison” and I’m just like... no 💀

I’m pretty sure people would hate Allison even more if she were a white dude (ESPECIALLY because of the S/A scene). 

Luther was very hated by the fandom for locking Viktor up and Viktor def did a bad thing by causing the apocalypse, but the reason people are no longer hating on them was because they at least showed remorse for what they did and changed. Allison (for now) did not. 

The best thing she did was kill Reggie to save her sibs at the very end but she still pressed the button to reset the world so she could get what she wanted (which was a life with Claire & Raymond). She constantly manipulated Viktor with her whole “trust me, I’m doing this for all of us” spiel yet she’s the only one who gets her loved ones back and keep her powers (because her’s weren’t sucked up by the machine thingy). 

She reset the world to a reality where only she would benefit from it while the rest of her siblings remain lost, miserable, traumatized, and now, powerless. Kinda sucky of her ngl 🙁

However! She’ll most likely get her redemption arc in season 4 though so I can’t wait to see how it’s handled! 😃

(Also, I can’t wait to see how the creators make Klaus even crazier than he already is! They had their fun with Luther (season 1 with his moon trauma), Diego (season 2 with his JFK obsession), and now with Allison in this season with her desperation to get Claire and Ray back. This means... it’s Klaus’ turn next 😈)

I also wanted to talk about how gojo and getou are. they’re similar, meaning you don’t really have to put in a lot of effort to find out that they’re rich. gojo is the kind of guy who clearly flaunts his wealth in the most obnoxious way possible, but at the same time it’s not just the things he buys that makes him seem rich. You can see it in the way he carries himself. the best way I can explain it is like this; gojo is like a peacock. he likes to show off his feathers, but he’s already so naturally beautiful that people are already looking??? he just looks grand, if you know what I mean. he’s almost always got that air of confidence and superiority surrounding him that it can make you wanna BEAT HIS ASS UP 🤬🤬 but he’s also weirdly endearing :( he’s loud asf but we already know that LOL

AND when I said that getou is similar, I meant that he also just feels rich. he’s what you would expect someone from a high status family to be like tbh. he’s polite, respectful and is just all around elegant?? but he’s also kind of simple if you get what I mean. think of him as a swan — they’re plain, but everyone sees them as this really elegant and graceful creature. they also bite. hard. holy fuck. he’s a lot more subtle. even though he’s definitely intimidating and looks like a delinquent (😭), his actions show otherwise.

so, honestly to simplify what I’m saying, rich bitched getou and gojo are different sides of the same coin. both rich, but one formal and the other informal.

I wanted to ask you what are your thoughts about ayan and what parts of his character development are you looking forward to

Ayan seems like this incredibly confident and brave young man who is willing to start at the forefront of the revolution and start the fire. Yet Ayan as a person seems so lonely. We don’t see him interact with anyone his age outside the school. Even at school the only person he truly interacts with is Akk (and sometimes Thua). The rest of the times he’s focused on revenge. He’s slowly becoming the leader for the students but at the same time he has so many walls

On the flip side, Akk is supposed to be this strict, rule following prefect and yet he’s a character who has genuine relationships. We can really see how much Akk, Wat and Kan rely on each other. They may not tell each other everything but still laugh and have fun together, get mad at each other and discuss their problems with each other. We always see the three of them together in school or in the dorm and yet we always see Ayan alone 😭

I find this contrast really interesting because Ayan can’t fight this war alone. He also needs ppl who he can rely on, express his feelings to and offer comfort. Akk in a way provided that to him in ep 4 but I’m also looking forward to how Ayan’s relationship with the other characters will grow. I want to see more interactions with Wat and Kan especially. And to see how much they can learn and grow from each other

Ayan seems like a traumatized young man in a great deal of pain who is coping with it by turning all that grief and pain into anger with a side of compassion.

Ayan is aching and lonely and he's in so much pain and he's just... oh, Ayan.

What do I want to see with him?

I want to see Ayan be able to find support, to find the people on his side and to trust them. I'm really hoping he can find that, even if there's going to be pain before it because that's going to be so hard.

I want Ayan to be able to share his pain with other people, to talk to friends, to trust and to be able to share his heart with someone who cares for him in return.

Ayan is a leader by virtue of his own willingness to take a stance and his own anger and his own grief and his own walls. Without those, without all of those... he wouldn't be the kind of leader he is. He'd be a very different one. And he should be a different kind.

Ayan is anger and compassion and revenge and he's leading a revolution of all of those things, of anger and compassion and revenge and he is drawing people to him because everyone understands anger and compassion and revenge in their own way.

Akk is a rules follower because it is safe and it protects him and in order to protect himself and others he is grasping at anything to keep them safe.

Oh, they all hurt so much.

I cannot wait to be hurt.

But, yeah.

I'm looking forward to when Ayan is able to find anyone to trust. He needs to tell someone that Dika is dead and to be able to talk to them... but there's just no one he can trust right now, no one he can even come close to trusting with his secrets and his pain.

All he has is his necklace and the white rose and the notebook and someday... someday, he'll have someone beside him on the cliff.

Hello, welcome all 2 of you to my quick thoughts 🤣🤗 I have soooo many thoughts and probably 3x as many screenshots on my phone sooooo let’s do this!

- so. Much. Happened. In this chapter!! That’s not a complaint at all, just an observation

- so I’ll try to go in chronological order, keyword “try”

- THE TWINS BEING ALMOST LATE AFSGDH! I literally cracked up as Twin busts in the room like a crazy person, dog on his heels, telling his sister they done overslept. Like babies...my sweet children...why are y’all like this 🤣

- Meghan’s outfit!!!! Twin’s outfit!!!! CUTE!! You know what’s not cute?? Rory, Ajay, and Skye not having new threads for the new book, what gives PB???

- also was it just me, or were all the diamond choice costs pretty tame compared to what they usually are???

- Skye’s mother terrifies me. Not because she’s another abusive white woman who placates at being a mother...oh...wait

- Anyway, all I’m saying is she’s not Guy from MOTY bad...but neither of the would want to find themselves alone in an alley either okay 🤷🏾‍♀️

- Ppl who are romancing Ajay please feel free to interact to the post or my DMs or whatever...does he show up much in this chapter?? Like my MC sees more of Skye than Ajay (plus I’m salty on everyone’s behalf of not having Ajay on a cover. He was wronged and I can’t believe PB squandered an opportunity like this)

- Rory and Meghan are cute, part 1: the greenhouse scene, with the group talking about the London competition/ trip?? Adorbs. My heart can’t take all thissss 😭😭😩

- The fact that the Silvas left Rory and Megs home alone is almost shocking to me. But they’re good kids. So.

- Rory as Meghan are cute, part 2: can we TALK about the Duchess movie??? I picked all the choices with Meghan acting them out (because she’s a dork and owns that ish) and Rory is just there like “my girlfriend is the cutest thing ever, I die,” and I’m like bro same, like same *wipes tears from my eyes*

- shifting gears, I never thought they would broach the subject of the Twins adoptive parents, so that was a nice surprise (also it got so serious so quickly I was NOT prepared for the possible feels trip 💀)

- so we have a aunt in London, huh?? And Meghan is super excited but Malcolm is like sis pump the breaks, and honestly I sympathize. I don’t know what it’s like to be adopted, but I do feel like the twins embody both sides of the spectrum of feelings when it comes to this situation. Either way, I’m intrigued to learn more about their birth family and I like that Greg and Rita opened the channel of communication and gave the Twins the choices to pursue more information. Though...I’m not really all that prepared for future heartbreak. So.

- That diamond scene with Brock from LoveHacks was literally...so strange?? And funny?? And goofy?? But totally worth 16(?) diamonds?? Also Meghan got a REALLY cool sword?? Yup.

- Does it surprise me that everybody and they mamas’ wanna audition for the musical?? Nopeeeee. It’s London for crying out loud, a FREE trip to London. Oh shoot, also I totally forgot to mention our twin auditioning too (I’m all for it, I think it’ll be really fun and add another dynamic to the story)

- speaking of paid trips....I admit I was kinda blindsighted by Skye’s parents being the donors for Spotlite. I don’t trust it, I don’t trust them, and if this becomes the majority of Skye’s story or whatever it was that was hinted about Skye in the promos from months ago, imma be salty. My girl deserves better

the year of the witching by alexis henderson (black fantasy horror/thriller)

it’s the story of a black mixed-race orphan girl named immanuelle whose mother was white and father was black. she lives in a puritanical white supremacist society with her mother’s white family and knows nothing abt her father, only that her mother was married to the prophet of their church and cheated on him with her father. the latter was accused of bringing her into witchcraft and they were both put to death publicly, making her father’s already segregated family fall into more poverty and ruining her mother’s then elite family’s name. despite being 17, immanuelle never entered puberty, until she finds her mother’s journal, enters the darkwood forest surrounding her town, and spooky shit ensues. 12/10 best fantasy book i ever read. i have been waiting my whole life for a black witch horror book with a delicious romance subplot too and miss henderson more than delivered i can’t recommend this enough

the main girl, january, is a romance author whose world has turned upside down after the unexpected death of her father reveals he was cheating on her mother for years and living a double life. on top of that, her long-term relationship goes to shit and she hasn’t been able to write a sentence for ages even though she has a strict date to meet or else she owes her publishing company tonnes. she decides to go the beach house her dad secretly owned where he lived with the other woman, only to find that her next door neighbour is none other than her edgy college rival and ~serious man book~ author, augustus. this book might seem like a dandy ole romance with hilarious comedy but it’s actually a story of parental abuse, the grief of not only losing family but losing who you thought you were and what your entire life was built on and what you thought your future was going to be, the difficulties of finding your identity and learning to trust ppl when you’ve been hurt so badly, and learning to love ppl who lied to you and hurt you bc they’re no longer there, but the feelings you have for them subsist. whew.
