not trying to be insulting but why do a lot of gay Greek mythology fans fans have the atrocious pairings to ever exist Ganymede x Zeus Hera x echo Artemis x Callisto
(Oh thank god I thought I was the only one to feel this but kept my mouth shut bc I’m straight) but yeah it’s really bad and don’t even get me started on Athena x Medusa.
There are plenty of genuinely good gay relationships to ship, like I’ve seen someone talk about Thetis x Eurynome and while I don’t personally ship it it’s actually cute since they live together and raise Hephaestus.
There is also the fact that Iris is a complete simp for Hera in several myths, even sleeping beside her throne in case Hera needs something immediately.
There is also Aëtos who was Zeus’s childhood friend and lover that Hera turned to an eagle (she’s never beating the homophobia allegations lol) but Zeus kept him around which is nice.
Also while researching for this ask apparently Hephaestus and Peleus MIGHT have been a thing???
It’s also funny how gay fanon ships tend to be one of the better ones in other media while in Greek mythology it’s kinda the opposite. There are good canon ships like Patroclus x Achilles or Apollo x Hyacinth at least, but then ppl ship Ganymede with Zeus when he’s very obviously a child.
Also can we stop shipping women who obviously hate each other or harmed each other? Like pls don’t ship Leto or any of Zeus’s lovers with Hera it’s dumb as hell.

Drowned Love, let me see you again…
Epic (Obsessive! Odysseus/ Yandere! Apollo) x Reader
Content Warning: Mention of character death, fear of drowning, Yandere themes, obsession, manipulation, imprisonment, reader has trauma and phobia of water
Description: After Poseidon has destroyed 558 men (reader included), Odysseus realizes that you have disappeared. When you wake up, you find yourself in a palace that is not made for mortals. While you are not yet aware of what you have gotten yourself into, you are not aware of how your loss affects Odysseus and how obsessively he is looking for a way to find you again.
Part 3: the glow of the golden sun and desperate faith
A/N: I really did this part in like 7 hours! I really hope you enjoyed it :> What do you think about the end? Circe is joining the Team! 👀
PREV / PART 4
°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●
As the waves grew stronger and more threatening, you felt the threatening eyes of the sea god piercing your soul. But in that moment you could see no hatred or anger in the storm that you could see in his eyes, no, it was something deeper, an unspoken lust, a desire to possess you, to get your love and to bind you to him. The obsession to possess you was impossible not to recognize, at this realization a cold shiver ran down your spine. Poseidon was angry, not only that Odysseus did not kill his son the Cyclops after blinding him but because you were at his side, why did he have you when he had a wife and a son? Mortals are greedy, that was no secret. But this time he did not want to accept this greed or he would voluntarily go to the Tatarus. After Odysseus asked for forgiveness, it was decided that you should no longer stay with this greedy king. The waves piled up, screams for the captain rang out in panic for their lives until their souls left their bodies. You were thrown off the ship by a strong wave, desperately trying to stay on the surface of the water, but the water seemed to push you down. It didn't take long before the air escaped from your lungs and was replaced with water. Your body got colder and colder, the cold temperature of the water only accelerated the process. Your body felt heavy, your eyes could no longer see anything before they closed. Memories came into your head, long forgotten moments from your life, every emotion, every pain until you could no longer see or feel anything. Suddenly, when you thought it was all over, you felt a warmth surrounding you.
°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●
As you slowly opened your eyes, you felt the soft fabric of the bedsheets that were laid over your body on your skin. The sun shone gently on your face, the warmth felt pleasant like soft, loving kisses on your skin. As you looked around the room you saw white marble that glowed softly, golden decorations on the walls and hyacinths filled the room with a lovely scent. As you dared to look out the window one thing became clear to you, you were on Olympus, the realm of the gods. Your attention wandered to voices that echoed into the room from the other side of the door, they were very powerful voices. You recognized the voice of Poseidon, he was upset and seemed to be arguing with some of the other gods, female voices could also be heard which sounded to you like protests or attempts to calm the angry god.
°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●
Reader POV:
As I listened to the voices I slowly pushed the soft blanket off my body, a light cold shiver ran down my body as the fresh air hit my skin. When I looked down I noticed that I was only wearing a thin dress, which confused me because I didn't wear anything like that when I was on the ship, and my armor was nowhere to be found. I wanted to get up, but I stopped as I tried to remember what had happened - but nothing came into my head, I could only remember those eyes of Poseidon and the dark water. The thought of the water that had dragged me to my death made me feel sick, the mere thought of ever going into the sea again sent you into a panic, you had developed an indomitable fear of open water that you couldn't move. It felt like all the air was escaping from my lungs again, my body was tense and everything was spinning. My stomach was turning and it felt like I was going to vomit at any moment. At least that's what I thought, until I felt that warmth again like before I sank to my death. But did I really die? "Calm down, sunshine," a gentle male voice suddenly rang out, until I felt a hand on my forehead, his skin was so soft. It was as if all my fear was dissolving and I finally relaxed. When I closed my eyes I leaned back but instead of the soft pillows a muscular chest awaited me. I jerked and turned around abruptly, my breath caught when I saw the man sitting on the bed behind me, looking down at me with watchful eyes. His eyes shone like the rays of the sun, just like he himself is surrounded by a slight glow. His blonde hair was long and a strand fell into his face which he tucked behind his ear with a deft movement, his tanned skin glowed slightly in the sun. His head was adorned with a golden laurel wreath like Poseidon's, and on his robe was a golden pendant with the symbol of a hyacinth. Next to him lay a beautiful lyre and on the other side of the bed was a bow, just like a quiver with arrows. "Lord Apollo," I whispered softly, I knew him, better than I would have liked. My family worshipped him, we had a temple of Apollo on our island and prayed to him there every day. He nodded in agreement at the sound of his name, his eyes briefly shone in a way that I could not interpret, something very deep. "I'm glad you're well, my sunshine, I was full of worry when I found out what Poseidon had done to you and I'm so sorry about the loss of your crew and Odysseus... I wasn't there when you needed me," said the god with great guilt in his voice. But wait... loss? Odysseus? Does Apollo mean that Odysseus and the others died? This thought brought tears to my eyes. He couldn't be dead, not him. As if he could sense my despair, he put his arms around me and held me tightly but without hurting me. "Don't worry, he's fine where he is now. I'm with you now and I'll make sure nothing else happens to you," he whispered softly in my ear. I don't know why, but the warmth he radiates gave me a feeling of security and my eyes slowly closed in his warm embrace.
°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●☆●○•°♡°•○●
While you fell asleep in the god's arms you couldn't see Apollo's bewitched smile; he had you exactly where he wanted you: in his arms just for himself and the other gods. He had looked after you when your parents first came to his temple with you as a baby and prayed that he would give you his blessing. He didn't grant this without hesitation. From that moment on he always watched you; whenever you were alone he would strike down any enemies who wanted to harm you with his arrows. The sun always shone for you; when the sun shone it was as if it rose just for you. Until Odysseus met you; he didn't like that because you spent less time in his temple. When he once had an argument with Poseidon he decided to let your kingdom sink in a devastating storm, but his attempt to murder you failed. Yet Apollo could no longer be there for you, as Athena, the goddess of wisdom and warfare, had given her her blessing when his little ray of sunshine had killed the magical wild boar with Odysseus and Poletis. He thought it was unfair, but Athena had also developed an obsession with you. The other gods were still arguing about who would have you next while Apollo stroked your hair and hummed a soft melody, his voice manipulated your thoughts and made you believe it was safest with the gods and your memories of what had really happened to you were sealed deep in your mind. And Odysseus? He was full of despair, 43 men were still with him, after the storm they ended up with Circe who turned his men into pigs, and yet his thoughts still revolved around you, you can't have died. Never. When he desperately explained everything to Circe, she took pity on him, transformed his men back and granted him access to the underworld, but she was still curious who you were that he was so desperately clinging to the hope that you were still alive. Maybe she should question Hermes more, after all, he had often mentioned this young woman during his visits.

More jaydick rambles because @normal-nightmare told me to:
I think the intimacy between Dick and Jason can't be overstated, regardless of if you ship them or not. Excluding Bruce and Barbara, these two have known each other the longest in the Batfam. More importantly, they've seen sides of each other that subsequent kids haven't. Going back to the OG timeline, Jason had met Dick as Robin, and then witnessed him retire and ultimately become Nightwing. On the flipside, Dick met Jason as a kid, gave him the costume, and then had to mourn him. None of the others got this side of them: even by the time Tim joins, Dick's identity as Nightwing and as a mentor/big brother figure had already solidified, and Jason comes back as a vengeful Red Hood, and it's just like that from that point on.
So I imagine that when Dick looks at Jason, he sees the eager thirteen year old trying so hard to be just like him. Jason looks at Dick and sees this cool older guy who believes in him for some strange reason. And there's just. So much fondness in that. (And guilt for my fellow angst lovers, hehehe.)
So hang onto that for this next part.
I haven't even come close to reading every single piece of Batfam media, and I doubt it's even possible. However, I still get confused when fans (and now even the characters themselves) claim that these two have a contentious relationship because...where is it? From what I read, they generally like each other and pretty quickly fall into a mentor/mentee (or older/younger brother) or partners dynamic. The two biggest examples of true conflict I've seen are Battle for the Cowl and the imposter Nightwing arc in Nightwing (1996). In Cowl, they are having a values-based conflict that resolves pretty quickly. It's not necessarily personal. And don't get me started on the imposter Nightwing thing (again).
Instead, let's consider that about a decade after Jason's debut and soon after his backstory was retconned, the Nightwing (1996) Year One arc featured a new rendition of Dick and Jason meeting for the first time. They go from fighting to partnering up in about five minutes and then very quickly settle into that older/younger dynamic:
(#105-106)
Keep in mind that about 20 issues later in this same series, adult Jason pops up pretending to be Nightwing and wanting to play dynamic duo with Dick (i.e. imposter Nightwing arc).
For my fellow shippers:
Anyway, due to the intimacy between these two that starts with this vertical dynamic, I can't help but think of them as entering a sort of erastes/eromenos relationship, akin to Apollo and Hyacinth. (And this myth is extremely fitting since Hyacinth dies tragically and Apollo is made to believe that it was his fault.) There's a mutual kind of awe and devotion that's just lovely.

Fan art GI x PJ Part 1
Since I have free time, a love for Percy Jackson, a nascent obsession with Genshin Impact (to the point that I spoiled the entire story and I'm barely in Liyue, finishing Act I, so I'm sorry if it's inaccurate with canon) and a very crazy head that won't leave me alone until I get this out of my head, here is my fanart combining GI x PJ.
Starting to present the characters and the lore that I invented, there is Dionysus, who would be Venti with some changes. Before Dionysus, there was Hermes as the first anemo archon (I couldn't leave out my middle child) Dionysus got the position just a few years after Hermes, who died in the war against Khaenri'ah by orders of Celestia (which here would be Kronos), Dionysus never got to meet Hermes, but he did learn his stories from the winds as soon as he became archon Also Dionysus being the god of madness, I definitely see him as someone who would encourage Monstadt to live as freely and happily as possible, and he is also the reason why Monstadt's parties and festivals are so legendary throughout Teyvat.
On the other hand, the next archon is Apollo, geo archon for several, several reasons... (I blame every post on ao3 and Tumblr by @apollosgiftofprophecy and @tsarinatorment, they put a love for Apollo and mythology in me that I appreciate, except here because I thought more about Apollo than mythology half of the characters XD)
First Apollo has some control with Zeus regarding law and order, god of civilization, and is in some way seen as the protector of tombs and cemeteries, it is wonderful that Zhongli (archon Geo in Genshin Impact) works in a funeral home, is related to the law as the god of contracts and has watched over Liyue and its inhabitants, having great influence on its people and how it grew as a civilization In addition to that he also has some influence on sailors and ships, as the patron of sailors, so Liyue being a port city, well discarded and taken Apollo was Zhongli's turn As also the god of knowledge.
I love being a rat so he is the only living archon in this UA who went through the war of the archons, Khaenri'ah and until today, who would take the role of Guizhong would be Jacinto naturally (dead, shipped with Zhongli / Apollo) and who would take the role of Xiao would be Nico di Angelo (dwarf, traumatized... is perfect) plus I can keep the dynamic of Dionysus as Nico's therapist (something that is a little different from canon, Xiao does not receive therapy from Venti, but rather he purifies him) but that would remain as a separate thing from their relationship Also, as an extra Zhongli reviews the future of Liyue to bring a guide on how to prosper (Apollo and his mastery of prophecy), for certain reasons (Artemis) is that he would decide to retire as archon and continue working at the funeral home discreetly with Nico, occasionally hanging out at the orphanage with the children.
Respect to Artemis I will talk about her in her fanart, and her relationship with Apollo along with what happened here
Nico on his side has been with Apollo since the war of the archons, as his right hand (previously he had other companions, similar to the adeptus who serve Rex Lápiz) the most notable is Commodus, who went crazy killing corrupt gods, beings of the abyss and the cherry on top was Apollo's rejection for his feelings, still hurt by the death of Hyacinth (with whom unlike Guizhong, he would be god of flowers) but they would have spent almost as much time as Zhongli and Guizhong together (close to 1000 years if I'm not mistaken, I appreciate the corrections) so he would continue fighting with a broken heart.
(PS: I also thought of Branchus as Guizhong but, Guizhong fell in the war, Hyacinth did not die a peaceful death then... well, tragedy with tragedy).
Continuing with Nico, he would be mourning for his companions but with Apollo they decided to take it easy, and he was in Apollo's retirement plan (who says that with stone and an archon's influence you can't make a fake corpse?) and he has been improving with the mourning and trauma of the war with the help of Dionysus and the passage of time.
Lastly Meg, because she is the strongest daughter of Demeter she couldn't just be left as an extra, no, no, no.
I understand than Neuvillette is the hydro dragon reborn as her own offspring, here Meg would be the remains of the essence of Demeter, discovered by Artemis who thought she was a child of an endangered species and raised her, when what happened with Artemis happened (the same as with Rukkhadevata, but whoever reads this and is part of the PJO fandom will not know) Apollo took her under his custody with Nico and now she works with them, apart from living with them, in the funeral home .
Speaking of the designs, I tried to make the clothes as faithful as I could, Apollo with Liyue clothes, some Greek and Sumeru for his sister (the moon earring that he has is Artemis's), with white eye shadow (also for his sister that I designed with white locks), a book, a random kid from the orphanage with long hair in a braid (courtesy of Meg who wanted to practice and Nico doesn't let him).
Nico with long hair (because he lived with Apollo for so long he started to like to wear his hair a bit long, also in reference to ancient China and the custom of not cutting his hair), his usual dark circles and his hidden vision on his back.
Meg with a Sumeru bird (coincidentally called Peaches) somewhat more Sumerian clothes and a spear, she is trying to learn to fight with other weapons apart from her classic twin swords.
And Dionysus with a good bottle of Dandelion Wine, classic from Monstadt, and more Monstadt clothes too.

Something that irritated me
I saw this comment "Even if Gale wasn't a minor- she was his teacher, his goddess, she took advantage of the power she had over him,"
And this is a bit annoying, does Mystra treated Gale like crap? Yes, but to be honest, he also fucked around and find out with magical items that nearly destroyed the universe despite her explicitly said "DO NOT TOUCH!" and this sentiment that Mystra should know better about her relationship with Gale cannot be applied to her or any Gods. This is such a modern sentiment, relationship between humans in medieval era are often messed up by modern standard, let alone between a mortal and a God...
Mystra is a goddess and from her perspective she doesn't need to know any better because a god can do whatever they wanted so long it doesn't piss off AO. People are hamfisting modern HUMAN morality into a dungeon and dragon God, I don't deny that Mystra and Gale relationship is (I hate this word) problematic by modern lens, but this is a medieval dungeon and dragon world...
You can dislike what she did, but saying that she should know better is just an unrealistic expectation.
Also, Aylin and Isobel relationship. Why did Isobel has to say "Oh yeah there's an imbalance in our relationship, but we love each other."
This is such a meta dialogue that kinda doesn't make sense for the setting? (narrative and lore consistency and world building shouldn't be sacrificed just to placate modern audience)
I mean, why does Isobel even has to explain and justify herself to Tav/Durge who are essentially strangers?
I can feel this is Larian saying "Guys, we ship these two but see we address the imbalance, pleaseee don't cancel us on Twitter."
What? Are we going to demand Apollo to address the imbalance of his relationship with Hyacinth to appease modern sensibility as well?

Defending Caleo about:
Age difference:
This is something I have seen a lot of people say, 'Calypso is ancient', 'This is basically pedophilia', etc. Now if we talk about it, she is way older than him, but it doesn't actually matter. Because she is an immortal, a titan. You can't expect Rick to make her a teenager, though she has the looks of a teenager. But so are the Olympians, Apollo is shipped with Hyacinth and Daphne, and he is way older than them. Sally x Poseidon shippers should also keep in mind that he is one of the oldest gods to walk on earth. So why would you target calypso and not the others (I respect all ships and am not bashing these shippers).
Every ship that includes a deity is technically a pedo ship. And if you ship an immortal x immortal than it is probably incest. Soooo, I am going to stick with this beautiful CANON ship.

Mermaid au of Hyacinthus and Apollo where the gods are naturally merpeople but can shapeshift and are still gods. And like, Apollo sees Hyacinthus one day when he’s where the ocean meets this river, and falls in love at first sight, so he takes on the form of a human to meet Hyacinthus and such. At some point, Hyacinthus finds out, and they start having dates closer to or on the sea, and at some point, Hyacinthus ends up dying due to Zephyrus sinking his ship or causing a strong wave that makes Hyacinthus drown? Then Apollo turns his blood into an underwater version of hyacinths/larkspurs, this time saying something like, “my love for you knows no bounds, for you, my love, I turn your blood to flowers the same color as your eyes so that you may enjoy the splendor this world has to offer even after your death.” So the hyacinths sort of let Hyacinthus see the beauty of the world even from Elysium, and after being brought back and deified. As for why the gods take the form of merpeople? Uh. The ocean’s a very large portion of the earth, and primarily empty and a bit dangerous, so maybe they like it more because of that? I’ll probably draw this when I have the time.

I got one
Zephyrus/Hyacinthus/Apollo
Boreas/Orithyia
Hypnos/Endymion
I’m so sorry I could only do the first couple, it was just because I rather didn’t know who they were (I only knew Boreas from my mutual and the Apollo and Hyacinth myth 😔 ) or I don’t really know about the couple. I’m gonna look into it for you pookie trust.
Now this one is interesting? I will admit that my shock of this ship comes purely from my spitefulness of Zephyrus’ actions plus the fact I don’t know anything about Zephyrus besides him knocking Hyacinth 6 feet under. HOWEVER I feel like with enough coaxing I can be convinced? Though I can’t see Zephyrus loving Apollo as much as he loved Hyacinth so…. AGAIN probably can be convinced if you dm 🤷🏾♀️

Thanks RS for ruining my favorite ships/couples from Greek mythology, Thanatos and Daphne in LO don’t even look good together at all, BECAUSE HE IS THE GOD OF THE DEAD AND HE WILL KILL YOU IF YOU TOUCH HIM! Will it makes sense if he dates Makaria the Princess and Goddess of bless death and older daughter/heiress of Hades and Persephone and I don’t mind if the game Hades ship him with Zagreus, because it make some sense, because he is the prince of the dead and underworld, but why him and Daphne? It still ruins the ships of two myths.
I can not believe she ruined the ship with Apollo, hopefully Hades 2 will be faithful to the original Apollo and give him a threesome with Daphne and Hyacinth. I am scared that She will ruining the Hyacinth and Apollo myth, and we will hope she will not going to put herhands on the beloved myth.
P.S Daphne is a Naiad nymph and not a flower nymph in the myth and Idk why she would change it for. I did the ships for Apollo and Daphne and Thanatos and Makaria in my fanart better then this beautiful trash mess.

Making bouquets for my ships part 6
Suegiku: white coltsfoot, white rainflowers, blue bellflowers, purple hyacinths, purple hydrangeas, purple and white garden daises and scarlet geraniums
This one took quite some time as I was indecisive but as you can see it still ended up being quite the long bunch of flower, my largest bouquet yet! I think the colors came together quite nicely though red is quite overpowering at times. I'm sure if balanced well it would look nice irl.
Starting off with coltsfoot, in old floriography it held in meaning "justice shall be done" and the white really punches the purity of those words (and looks aesthetically pleasing). It's suegiku need I say more. White rainflowers represent 3 things, "I love you back, I must atone for my sins, I will never forget you." You know why? It's connected to Zephyr! They're called zephyranthes as well for a reason. This old tale is of the jealous west wind who accidentally killed Hyacinthus (the man he was in love with) by sending the discus flying back out of jealousy of Apollo for bagging him instead (if I can't have him no one can style). That pretty much explains the meanings and I think this goes quite well with Tecchou feeling at fault as well as feeling bad as Jouno would have never wanted him to set aside justice for him. This also relates to Jouno cause in my head he would feel Tecchou deserves someone who's ideals are as pure as him not someone like Jouno. Relating to this myth I'm going to jump ahead to hyacinths which, you guessed it, relates to hyacinthus. Hyacinths are believed to have grown from his blood and purple hyacinths represent sorrow and desire for forgiveness. Why? Well this is from Apollo's pov of course silly. See in some versions there was no Zephyr while in others there is. It doesn't matter anyways though because Apollo blames himself for his lover's death. I feel as though if Jouno died Tecchou would blame himself even if it wasn't his fault. I also found accidentally putting flowers related to opposite sides of this tale quite amusing.
Going back into chronological order, blue bellflowers represent a constancy, an unwavering love. Despite each others flaws and clashes does their love for each other not stayed unwavering? Blue highlights the loyalty and trust. Next purple hydrangeas stand for a desire to deeply understand someone. I think deep down they are both fascinated by the other's way of thinking and want to understand it better, more obvious on Tecchou's side then Jouno's. Moving on, garden daisies. See usually garden daisies and innocence, purity blah blah blah but I saw a very specific meaning for garden daisies in an old book and ran with it. It said "I take part in your sentiments." It SCREAMS Jouno about Tecchou. It's clear Tecchou has rubbed off on him in some form based on him caring about people and choosing to stand against Fukuchi (not to say it wasn't himself but still!). He's taking part in Tecchou's ways. Finally, scarlet geraniums. They're meaning relates to comfort or stupidity; quite the duality am I right?
