bloody bar — choi seungcheol (m)

wc: 4.2k
—
As quoted in Mean Girls, halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it. Cady has never been more right, you think to yourself as you walk down the busy streets downtown, hand in hand with your other two friends—Yuki and Mona.
Surprisingly, this year, you three are not the exception, clad in sexy renditions of your favourite movie characters. You being Gogo Yubari—but with a tiny skirt and a shirt that seems to be barely holding itself together, Yuki being Mia Wallace, and Mona a ghost bride that keeps attracting the gazes of drunk teens.
Each of you on your second can of highball, arms locked together tightly as you three trudged down the streets to find the bar where the rest of the group is waiting at. Nothing like pre-gaming before the actual pre-game.
“Fuck, I need to pee.” Yuki whines as she downs her remaining highball before throwing away her empty can. A groan rumbles from Mona, which causes you to chuckle. “Looks like there’s a toilet up front over there,” you pondered, trying to get a better look at the building in front of you.
“Let’s go let’s go—I think the bar is somewhere here anyways,” Yuki pulls both of you to cross the road with her, briefly checking on google maps which she has had open for the past 20 minutes.
The building in front of you welcomes the group of you with an open foyer, and you notice the rows of neon lights across every floor of the building, each spelling out the names of different bars that seem to be booming with business.
“Fuck, I can’t hold it in any longer,” Yuki barely finishes her sentence before running off to the restroom at the end of the foyer. You finish up your can along with Mona, before deciding to light up a stick with her while waiting for Yuki.
Meet us at level 3, there’s an open smoking area here.
You light up a stick for yourself as well as for Mona, seeking comfort in the warmth down your system, in contrast to the cold night. Leaning against the wall, your eyes run through the bar fronts staggered on this level, admiring the amount of effort they took to showcase their halloween decorations.
While scanning, your eyes meet a rather...menacing one. A person with a Jason Voorhees mask is staring right at you, leaning against the parapet directly opposite you, while waving what looks like a fake decorative knife—as if saying hi.
You furrow your eyebrows, ignoring the slight scare you felt when you saw the mystery person wave at you. One thing about you—as much as you enjoy the theatrics of being out and about during halloween, you were definitely not the biggest fan of horror movies—especially ones with killing themes where the murderer is hiding behind a sinister mask. (read: Friday the 13th)
You look away, puffing out towards the sky before listening to Mona complain about her recent internship project.
“Hey,”
A deep voice muttered. While you knew it definitely could not be Yuki, nor were you particularly interested in entertaining anyone tonight, somehow your inner instinct brought it upon you to turn to the source of the voice.
The minute your eyes lay upon the man in a black suit next to you—you let out a yelp, jumping slightly and dropping your diminishing stick.
“Holy fuck,” you uttered, hands soothing yourself by patting your chest area. A loud chuckle erupts beside you and you just know Mona is intrigued by this mysterious man appearing beside you two.
The mask looks way more eerie and daunting up close, you can’t help but take a step back—stepping on your dropped cigarette at the same time. He chuckles, and continues to wave his knife while looking at you.
Mona speaks up, letting the man know how sick his costume is, and whatever he utters next gets muffled by your loud thoughts.
Fight or Flight. This is a stupid predicament to be even thinking about fighting or flighting—it’s halloween for goodness sakes. You’re bound to meet 20 more people with the same spooky masks, but at this very moment, you’re not liking the attention from this “killer”.
Flight it is. You grab onto Mona’s hand tightly before dragging her towards the toilet at level 3. Panting as you shut the door to the women’s toilet, you hastily pick up your phone to text Yuki about the change in meeting location.
“Y/N, calm down, it’s just a man in a scary mask that’s all,” Mona giggles as she takes in your slightly frightened state. You roll your eyes, shrugging her off, “and you—will definitely die first in a horror movie.”
“Hey! That’s offensive—we know the first one to die will be—.”
“Guys! I’m right, the bar is actually in this building, on this level actually,” Yuki bursts into the toilet, waving her phone excitedly with a bounce.
Mona looks over at me, smirking before holding onto both of us, “Let the night begin,”.
—
The bloody bar. What an apt name, especially for halloween season.
You squeeze through the crowd on the dance floor before finding the table where your friends are situated at. Loud cheers erupt from the table before they usher you to get more drinks to reach their state of high.
“I’ll go fetch us some drinks—cherry vodka?” Mona and Yuki nod eagerly before holding onto your belongings so you can carry the drinks over.
With the music pumping you up, you made your way to the bar at the back, smiling at strangers along the way—stopped by a girl dressed as The Bride, insisting that you both had to get a picture together.
After some quick snaps, you finally found yourself in front of the bar, alongside a few others waiting for their drink top-ups.
“3 cherry vodka’s please!”
“Coming right up!”
Leaning your elbows on the marbled counter, you hum along to the music playing while tapping your card to the beat.
“Why’d you run away so quickly Gogo?” That familiar baritone runs a chill down your spine and you turn to your right, only to see the same man waving the same plastic knife in your face.
“Well, quick tip. If you wanna hold a conversation, maybe not wave a knife in their face?” You snap back, effects of the mask starting to wear off with the alcohol making its way through your veins.
He chuckles, before tucking away the knife behind him.
“My bad, can I have a do-over with you, pretty?” He reaches out a hand in your direction, which you narrow your eyes at. He wiggles his fingers, urging you to go for it.
Hesitantly, you place your hands in his, eager to be done with just a quick shake of hands. But he’s faster, as he lifts his mask up a little, bringing your knuckles to his lips as he settles a soft kiss upon them.
“This outfit doing a thing on you?” You can’t help but bite back at this man—though he’s done nothing wrong, except looking like a nightmare you may have had after watching Friday the 13th.
“More so the pretty woman that’s in it, rather than the costume itself—though I must say, I don’t remember Gogo looking this…bewitching.” He tilts his head, and you see a hint of his eyes behind the mask.
You snort out a chuckle, “And I don’t remember Jason being this friendly,”
“Only to people he likes, and fortunately for you, you’ve caught his eye,” he leans in closer, and you sniff a hint of bergamot and vanilla.
“Fortunately? I need to be further convinced,” you hum, starting to warm up with the warm banter. You were always a sucker for straightforward guys anyway.
With a swift movement, he removes his mask completely, hands ruffling through his locks to fix his hair.
You were stunned—to say the least. The man in front of you had the prettiest eyes that seemed to sparkle the longer he looked at you, with the prettiest cherry lips and goodness—his dimples. His dimples that seemed to be screaming out to you, to poke a finger in them.
“Seungcheol,” his dimples make an appearance yet again.
You cleared your throat, “Y/N”. You swear you saw a flash of something in his eyes as you uttered your name to the gorgeous man in front of you.
“Y/N… let me get those drinks for you, yeah?” Before you could protest, he makes a few gestures towards the bartender, before grabbing the drinks and bringing them over to your table for you.
Raising your eyebrows, you scurry nearer to catch up to him, “You’re here often?” You could only assume by the way he has a tab open here, and by judging the chummy behaviour with the bartender earlier.
“Mmm, not quite…sometimes,” he shouts over the music that gets louder nearing the tables and dance floor. Handing over your drinks to you and your friends, words get stuck down his throat as your friends pull you away to the dance floor.
“I’ll catch you later!” You push away the feeling of disappointment, knowing he’ll be around anyway.
Drinks in your hands, you sway along to the music, pulling up with your favorite dance moves with your friends. Throughout, you feel a certain someone’s gaze on you, and with a sneaky glance towards the bar, you see seungcheol leaning on his back, arms crossed with his eyes unabashedly drilling holes in your face.
With an audience, you start to feel a little more bold, swaying your hips in his direction, letting your short skirt flap around, giving him a little show to gape at.
The feeling of being under his watchful eye makes your heart beat along to the bass on the dance floor, and you can’t help but revert your gaze back to him every 5 minutes.
Once he notices you taking a break, downing some water on an empty table, he makes his way towards you. Noticing him, you send him a saccharine smile as he leans down, “Care for a dance? Seems like your friends are busy,” his lips grazed your ear slightly.
Fuck what you said earlier—you could entertain people tonight, especially if it’s a handsome stranger though sent to you in a sinister way initially.
Chewing on your bottom lip, you nod before walking towards the dance floor, looking back at him, only to catch him entranced by your ass already.
You roll your eyes playfully, before catching his gaze. Giggling, you made a come hither motion towards him and he swears his heart is about to pour out in the middle of the dance floor.
—
He’s seen countless people swimming in and out of his bar, but he’s never encountered anyone as enchanting as you. He thinks he’s sick to his stomach at the wave of excitement and rush you bring to him—just by looking at him.
Seungcheol holds you close, and for someone who believes you can’t find love on the dance floor with musty smells and sticky bodies, he seems to be under a spell—one casted by you unknowingly.
He’d thought he lost a chance when you ran away from his initial approach—but when you strutted into his bar, he had a sudden gyration about the idea of fate.
“Thought I’d never have the chance to see you again, pretty. Can’t lie—when you ran away from me earlier, broke my heart a little,” he can’t help his mouth from expressing how glad he is to be dancing with you right now.
“Can’t blame me—it was kinda creepy, Jason’s not high up in my list of celebrity crushes,” you wrap your arms around his neck, giggling. “And, I’m here right now so—I’d say you have the last laugh,”
“Thanking every God I know for bringing you back to me, feels like Gogo was meant to end up in Jason’s arms tonight huh,” Cheol doesn’t know what’s wrong with him and why he’s appearing like a desperate 20 year old in front of you but, all he knows is that the feeling is mutual.
“Was I?” You start to lean closer, lips barely on his neck and he’s afraid you’d notice how quick his heart rate is right now.
“Don’t do this often but, I’d really like to show you, pretty,” he holds your chin up to look into your eyes.
—
The ride back to seungcheol’s house is filled with tension, with the slight nervousness as you think about the last time you’ve made such a reckless decision.
Somehow this doesn’t feel as reckless—it feels thought out, and pre-determined. As if his house was your final destination of the night all along.
Some jokes are cracked in his black porsche, and you notice how his hands grip onto the steering wheel so tight, it starts to turn white.
As if it were the last day on earth with no time to spare, he doesn’t give you time to admire his luxurious and stunning house, not even the bmw parked beside his porsche.
“Fuck, you’re sure about this right, pretty?” He holds your face close, kicking his door shut.
“Very. Want you to show me…show me why I was meant to end up in your arms cheol,” you whisper and he dies internally at the nickname you’ve given him.
“Okay baby,” he pecks your lips. “Gonna fuck the shit out of you pretty,” the moan you let out at that makes you embarrassed but he kisses you so fervently you know you’re not the only needy one.
“Safeword, need a safeword pretty,” he’s panting with urgency, walking you backwards while his hands are unwilling to let go of your face.
“Pumpkin,”
He giggles, gives you another peck on the lips.
“You’re adorable,” and you whine, letting out a gasp as he suddenly has you in his arms, princess-carrying you down the hallway, into his bedroom.
He crashes his lips on yours the minute your back hits the soft mattress, wanting to just kiss every breath out of you.
“So pretty, fuck, knew i had to get you the minute my eyes laid on you,” his hands travel under your shirt, softly caressing your tummy.
You moan at his confession, “you have me cheol,”.
“Yeah? I do, don’t I. Got your pretty ass under me, all I ever need,” a few movements and your buttons pop open, leaving him to drool over your swells covered by a thin bra.
His eager hands grasp onto your mounds, squeezing and playing so rough till it falls out of its confines, and he immediately gets a taste, licking a bud, swirling a tongue to get it hard and puffy.
“Fuck, feels so good,” you moan, legs shifting and rubbing against each other to find relief in the friction.
“So sensitive baby,” he groans, switching over to suck on your other bud, fingers twisting and pulling on the wet and puffy one. You cry out at the insane pleasure it brings you, feeling crazy that you want him to make you cum just by playing with your tits.
“Want more, need more,” you whine out, legs now tight around his waist, trying to lift your hips up to grind on his clothed bulge.
“Mm baby, be patient, I play the long game—won’t be inside you until you cum on my fingers and tongue.” Though his body betrays him as his bulge grows bigger and harder through his pants. You whine, too lost in the pleasure of rubbing yourself on him.
His grips onto your hips, slamming them back into the mattress to get control of the situation.
“I don’t play nice with brats, baby. Wanna be a good girl and stay still for me?” His warning does nothing but soak your panties even more and you nod, submitting his dark gaze.
“Words, need to hear you baby,” he caresses your chin with his thumb.
“Y-yes, I’ll be a good girl cheol.” He kisses you and continues playing with your tits, cupping them, tongue flicking left and right licking your buds together.
“That’s my good girl, knew you’d listen well to me,” he travels down towards your skirt, eyes hooded as he can’t look away from you. He lifts up your skirt to figure out exactly how much of a mess he’s got you in.
Pushing the thin fabric to the side, his index finger runs through your slit, gathering all your arousal, only to bring it to your face, “look at how wet you are baby, you’re fuckin’ drenched god,” he sucks his finger dry, before diving in with his mouth.
“Let me reward you baby, show you why it’s always worth it to be my good girl yeah?”
He licks up and down your slit, before pushing his tongue in your warm cunt, eliciting the loudest moan from you as of yet. “F-fuuck” you scream out as he starts to lap at your cunt like a starved man.
Removing your ruined panties to have better access to your clit, he continues his way up, tongue flicking that sensitive nub all around before sucking it completely, letting his pretty lips play around with your clit. His eyes never leave your face—wanting to savour every look your face contorts into every second.
“C-cheol—so good so good,” your broken moans encourage him to go on even further, as he pushes a finger in easily, sliding it in and out at a steady pace.
He hits two spots at one go, his slender fingers repeatedly rubbing against that friction pad inside you while his mouth stimulates your clit non-stop.
You start to tremble and shake around him, fingers grabbing onto his locks even tighter than before. He feels you clench at inconsistent paces, and observes the tightening of your core.
“You gonna cum for me baby? Like my good girl?”
Coherent sentences can’t seem to form as you let out strings of curses and moans—along with his name.
“Cheol, cheol, cheol fuck,”
“Yeah baby, I can tell you’re there already, cum for me, show me you’re my good girl,” and with that you let go, legs gripping onto his head so tight, shaking, upper body jerking up as you let out a cry.
He rubs your clit to help you prolong your high and you catch your breath slowly, back slowly touching the mattress again.
“You look so fucking gorgeous when you cum baby, need to see that face again,” he hovers above you again, this time attaching his sinful lips on your neck, wanting to mark you as his so badly.
“Take it off—want you inside me,” you tug at his pants, wanting to feel him wreck you completely.
Chuckling, he grabs hold of your hand, pinning them on top of you. “Have you forgotten who’s in charge baby? Don’t worry, I meant it when I said I’ll fuck the shit out of you,” stepping out of his pants, you feel your mouth water at the sight of his angry bulge pushing against his boxers.
“Wanna suck you off, can I?”
He groans, “fuck baby, how can I say no to that pretty face, c’mere” you crawl on the bed towards the edge where he’s standing, helping him get rid of his boxers.
His cock jumps and you already see hints of precum dripping down his girthy length. Laying flat on the bed, you push your ass up a little to give him a show as you start to stroke him, licking his pretty head softly.
“Fuck—no teasing baby,” he throws his head back, groaning at the sight of your pretty face taking in his cock, with your ass—god your ass, he wants to bury his cock in it this instant.
You take him in inch by inch, tongue at the base, flicking around while you swallow him whole. It takes a while, but you soon take all of him in. Moaning at how full it feels, you bob your head, hands playing with his balls, stimulating him even more.
“You’re gonna be the death of me baby, so fucking good to me,” cheol grabs your hair, and starts to guide your head, hips starting to fuck himself into your pretty mouth.
Loud groans erupt from his chest as he feels his tip reach down your throat, the way it tightens and pulses around his tip makes him dizzy.
“Gonna make me cum baby, hold on hold on,” his voice makes you drip more essence on his sheets—his moans together with the sexy chuckle makes you hold your legs together, not wanting to be further embarrassed by how wet you get so easily.
He slides out of your mouth, before instructing you to lay on your back. Grabbing both your legs, placing them on his shoulder before he lines his wet cock on your cunt, gathering all your essence on his tip.
“Hurry cheol—put it in, please,” whining at how empty you feel.
He slams his cock into you, and starts with a pace that makes you scream out at the repeated hits on your g-spot.
“Fuuck—cheol, wait,”
“Told you I don’t play nice with brats baby. You were impatient for my cock—I’m giving it to you now,” his hips never faltering as he continues to pound into you.
“Hhnnngghhm,” you’ve never felt this amount of immense pleasure hitting you so quickly, and all you can do is cry out his name.
“You got what you wanted baby,” he smirks down at you, grabbing onto your ankles tighter as he feels his cock grow tighter at how good you feel around him.
“I-i did, thank you, thank you—fuck, cheol,” you cry out yet again.
“Fuck baby—thanking me for my cock like a good girl now,” he reaches down to play with your clit, wanting to see you crumble before him again.
“I’m your good girl—please,” you throw your head back once you feel the tight circles drawn on your clit. You feel the impending tight feeling down your lower abdomen and you know you’re about to make a mess on his cock.
“That you are baby, fucking my good girl the way she deserves right? Gonna make you cum so hard around my cock baby,” he bites his lower lip, and quickens the pace of his hips and his fingers on your clit. He groans at the sight of white liquid painted on his cock, the ring forming as he thrusts into you.
“You feel so good cheol, so big so full, wanna cum already,” your mind fogs at the pleasure and all you can think about is chasing the high that is about to fall upon you.
“Cum for me baby, cum around this cock like the good girl you are, yeah?” And his voice was the ultimate key to unravel that knot inside you as you feel yourself spasm around his cock, loud cries from you wave after wave.
“You’re gonna make me cum baby, can feel you so tight around me,” you prop your elbows up at his words, moaning at how hot he looks chasing his high inside of you.
“You’d like that baby? Want me to cum inside you? Fuck look at you gripping me so tight even though you just came, so greedy for my cum aren’t you,”
“Yes yes yes, want you to cum inside me cheol,” you whine out, wanting to feel him pump himself inside of you. You beg for it like a broken record and cheol lets out moans and groans before he releases a thick spurt of load inside you, staying still as his cock continues to empty itself inside your warm and tight cunt.
Pulling out, he takes a step back to admire the mixture of your liquids together, oozing out of your pink and ruined cunt.
“Gogo was definitely meant to be in Jason’s arms tonight,” you let out with a breathy chuckle, and cheol brings his hands up to cup your face, swallowing your face whole again with an intense kiss.
“That was amazing baby, Gogo definitely needs to be in Jason’s arms for the rest of all the time from now onwards,” he snuggles his head in the crook of neck, kissing the areas he marked you earlier softly.
You giggle, before a gasp from the man on top of you brought you into a state slight panic, “What’s wrong cheol?”
“Fuck…I just left the bar running—never mind, Jeonghan’s got it,” he snaps his fingers before settling himself in the crook of your neck again.
You tilt your head in confusion, holding his head up to look at him, “What do you mean you left the bar running?”
Cheol’s eyes widen before he smiles sheepishly, “Right…I forgot to mention earlier.. Bloody bar is…my bar—well technically opened it with Jeonghan, the bartender earlier.”
It was your turn to let out a gasp, “Well, never knew bar owners were as enthusiastic in participating in halloween shenanigans,” you smirk towards him before settling down on his bed with him again.
“Lucky you,” he pinches your cheeks and you giggle, rubbing your nose against his, “Lucky me”.

You Make Me Nervous
worst wolverine/logan x fem!reader - inspired by a quote i heard from a rom-com, fluff, cute, happy ending, wade being wade, no y/n used, no reader description
Wade gives Logan relationship advice to help win you back.
read on Ao3
Logan couldn’t believe he was sitting on the sofa, nursing a beer, and listening to Wade Wilson of all people giving him “love” advice. It was bad enough that he’d let the fact he was seeing someone slip in front of Wade a month ago—now he was stuck dealing with the consequences.
“You gotta tell her how you feel, peanut. She can’t read your mind—unless she can? Oh my God, is she a mutant?!” Wade gasped, his eyes widening as he dramatically clutched at his heart. “Please tell me she’s a mutant. Oh, is she telepathic? Does she know all your dirty little secrets already? Can she hear what I’m thinking right now?” He leaned in closer, whispering loudly, “Because I’m thinking about chimichangas and some other stuff I probably shouldn’t say in polite company.”
Logan groaned, his head falling back against the worn-out cushions of Wade’s sofa. He stared up at the ceiling, contemplating how quickly this conversation had spiraled out of control. “For the last time, Wade, she’s not a mutant.”
“Boring!” Wade shouted, throwing his hands up in the air before plopping down on the couch next to Logan. “So what’s the problem then? You messed it up, and now you’re sitting here all broody, which I gotta say—doesn’t look good on you. You’re like a sad puppy with claws. A wolv-puppy.”
Logan shot Wade a glare, though the threat was half-hearted at best. “It’s complicated,” he muttered, taking a long swig of his beer.
Wade gasped again, dramatically clutching his chest. “Complicated? No! Say it ain’t so! Two emotionally stunted, violence-prone badasses couldn’t figure out how to talk about their feelings. The horror! This is literally the plot of every rom-com I’ve ever watched, and trust me, I’ve watched all of them.”
Logan rolled his eyes. “It’s not like that.”
“Sure it’s not,” Wade replied, winking and nudging Logan with his elbow. “Lemme guess—you didn’t tell her how you felt, she got tired of waiting, and now you’re here with me instead of—oh, I don’t know—being all naked and cuddly with your very hot, very human girlfriend.”
Logan growled, though there was no real anger behind it. Mostly just frustration. “Look, I don’t do the whole... talk about feelings thing. It ain’t me.”
Wade raised an eyebrow, his mouth twitching into a smirk. “No shit, Sherlock. You’re emotionally constipated. But here’s the thing, bud—women? They like to hear how you feel. You can’t just brood in a corner and expect them to pick up on your ‘bad boy with a heart of gold’ vibe all the time. Sometimes, you actually have to say something.”
Logan took another swig of his beer, his jaw tightening. “I’m not good with words.”
“Oh, I noticed.” Wade leaned back, putting his feet up on the coffee table and crossing his arms behind his head like he had all the time in the world. “But you don’t have to be Shakespeare. Just be honest. Tell her she makes you nervous.”
Logan frowned, setting his beer down with a thud. “She doesn’t make me nervous.”
Wade gave him a look, half-amused and half-exasperated. “Okay, fine, you’re not nervous. You’re Wolverine, Mr. ‘I’ve lived a hundred lives and fought more people than I can count.’ But you wanna know why she walked out on you? Because you didn’t let her in. You didn’t tell her that maybe—just maybe—she’s the one thing in this world that doesn’t piss you off.”
Logan huffed, sinking further into the couch. He hated how Wade was actually making sense. That was the worst part of this—Wade being right.
Wade’s smirk grew, sensing Logan’s reluctance. “Look, just say what I’m telling you. Repeat after me: ‘You don’t annoy me, you make me nervous.’ Simple. Done. Boom. You’re back in her good graces and probably naked by the end of the night. Win-win.”
Logan shook his head, rubbing his temple like Wade was giving him an actual headache. “I’m not saying that.”
“Sure you are,” Wade shot back, his eyes gleaming. “You’re gonna walk up to her, all gruff and serious, give her that intense look you do, and say it. ‘You don’t annoy me, you make me nervous.’ Trust me, it’ll work like a charm. Then boom—kissy-face, maybe a little apology sex, and then you’ll be back to being all... domestic or whatever you do in your downtime.”
Logan groaned, running a hand through his already tousled hair. He wasn’t exactly thrilled with the idea of taking advice from Deadpool, but he was running out of options. It had been a month since you’d walked out, and he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about you since. The way you’d looked at him that night—hurt, disappointed—had stuck with him, gnawing at him like nothing else ever had.
“You know she left because you’re an emotional brick wall, right?” Wade added helpfully, flipping through the channels on his TV like this wasn’t the most serious conversation Logan had had in weeks.
Logan clenched his jaw. “Yeah, Wade, I got that.”
“Well, good. Acknowledging it is the first step. The second step is getting off your ass, going to her place, and saying the thing I told you. Preferably with some dramatic background music playing.”
Logan’s eyes narrowed as he glared at Wade. “I don’t need background music.”
“Oh, you absolutely do,” Wade replied, grinning as he finally landed on an 80s rom-com playing on TV. “Don’t worry, I’ll follow behind with a boombox if necessary. Now go get your girl back, Romeo.”
Logan stood up, finishing the rest of his beer in one gulp before tossing the empty bottle onto the coffee table. “If this backfires—”
“It won’t,” Wade interrupted, hopping up from the couch and clapping Logan on the back. “But if it does, we can always go with plan B: I woo her with my devastating charm and then hand her back to you as a peace offering. It’s the perfect plan.”
Logan shot him a warning look, and Wade held up his hands in mock surrender. “Kidding! Jeez. Relax, Wolvie. You’re way too uptight for someone with a healing factor.”
With one last exasperated sigh, Logan headed for the door, his mind already racing with what the hell he was going to say when he saw you. The thought of telling you how he felt—actually putting it into words—was harder than he cared to admit but the thought of losing you for good? That was something he couldn’t handle.
“Go get ‘em, tiger!” Wade called after him, grinning as Logan disappeared into the night.
You hadn’t expected to see Logan. You weren’t sure if you expected to see him at all, to be honest. Yet, there he was, standing in your doorway, looking as rough and rugged as ever. His hair was a mess, his stubble heavier than usual, and his eyes—those deep, unreadable eyes—were locked onto you with an intensity that made your breath hitch in your throat.
“Logan,” you started, your voice softer than you intended.
“I need to talk,” he said, his voice gruff, almost hesitant. Logan was never hesitant. It caught you off guard.
You stepped aside, letting him in, the familiar scent of leather and smoke filling your space as he moved past you. He stood in the middle of your living room, hands shoved in his jacket pockets, looking like he was trying to decide where to start.
“You don’t annoy me,” he said suddenly, the words coming out fast and a little clumsy. “You... you make me nervous.”
You blinked, your heart skipping a beat as you processed what he’d just said. Logan shifted uncomfortably, rubbing the back of his neck, his eyes darting away from yours like he wasn’t used to being this vulnerable.
“I didn’t... I didn’t tell you that before,” he continued, his voice softer now, almost grumbling. “And that’s why you left but I don’t want you to leave. Not again.”
There it was—raw, honest, and maybe not perfectly eloquent, but it was Logan. That was all you had wanted—needed.
“You make me nervous because I... I care. More than I’ve cared about anyone in a long time. And I don’t know how to say that. So I mess it up. But I’m not... I’m not ready to lose you.”
You stood there, your heart racing, the weight of his words sinking in. He might not have been good with feelings, but in this moment, he was giving you everything he had.
Taking a deep breath, you stepped closer, your eyes softening as you reached for his hand. “You don’t have to be perfect, Logan,” you whispered, your fingers brushing against his calloused palm. “I never expected you to be.”
Logan’s gaze dropped to where your hand met his, and for a moment, he just stood there, silent and still, like he was struggling to let himself take comfort in something so simple. You could see the storm of emotions behind those dark eyes—the anger, the frustration, the fear—but also the tenderness he tried so hard to hide.
“I know I’m not easy to be with,” Logan said, his voice rough but quieter now. “Hell, I’m barely around sometimes. And when I am, I don’t—” He paused, running a hand through his already messy hair, clearly frustrated with himself. “I don’t say things the way I should. But I’m here now. And I’m tryin’ to say it.”
His words hung in the air, raw and uncertain, but they were enough. You knew what it took for him to admit this, to let himself be vulnerable in a way he’d always fought against. For you, that effort—his trying—meant more than anything.
You gave his hand a gentle squeeze, stepping closer until you were standing right in front of him, your other hand resting on his chest. “I just need you to let me in. I don’t expect you to be someone you’re not, but I need to know that you care. That this matters to you.”
Logan’s eyes finally met yours, and for a moment, all the gruffness and bravado fell away, leaving just the man underneath. The man who, for all his rough edges and scars, cared more deeply than he ever let on.
“I do care,” Logan said, his voice a low rumble. “I just... I don’t know how to show it sometimes. But you’re not like the rest of ‘em. I don’t want you to be just another person I’ve lost.” He hesitated, his jaw tightening as he searched for the right words. “I’ve lost too many people. I don’t want you to be one of ‘em.”
Your heart squeezed at the rawness in his voice, the way he let those words hang heavy between you.
“You won’t lose me,” you whispered, stepping even closer until your body was pressed against his, your hand resting over his heart.
Logan closed his eyes for a second, as if trying to steady himself, then let out a long breath. His arm slid around your waist, pulling you closer, and you could feel the tension in his body slowly ease as he let you in—finally, fully.
“I’ll try,” he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’ll take care of it... take care of us. Just... don’t walk away again.”
You let out a soft sigh of relief, your forehead resting against his chest as you felt the weight of the past month lift off your shoulders. “I didn’t want to leave, Logan. But I didn’t know if you’d ever let me in. You’re so used to doing everything alone...”
He pulled you tighter against him, his grip firm but not suffocating. “I’m not alone when I’ve got you,” he murmured, his breath warm against the top of your head.
A small smile tugged at your lips as you buried your face in his chest, breathing in the familiar scent of leather and something undeniably Logan. For a moment, you just stood there, wrapped up in each other, the world outside your door fading into the background.
“I guess Wade was right,” you said after a beat, your voice muffled against his chest.
Logan groaned. “Please tell me you didn’t just say that.”
You laughed softly, tilting your head up to meet his eyes. “He told you to say all that, didn’t he?”
Logan’s face twisted into a grimace, his lips pressed into a thin line. “Yeah... don’t remind me.”
You chuckled, rising onto your toes to press a soft kiss to his jaw. “Well, it worked. So maybe you should give Wade a little credit.”
“I’m not giving that idiot anything,” Logan muttered, though there was a hint of a smile on his lips now. “He’s probably out there right now, planning some dumb stunt just to celebrate how ‘wise’ he is.”
“You know he’s never gonna let you live this down, right?” you teased, your fingers tracing lazy circles on his chest.
Logan groaned again, his head falling back for a second as if resigning himself to the fate of dealing with Wade’s inevitable gloating. “Yeah, I know. I’ll never hear the end of it.”
You grinned, leaning up to kiss him again, slow and lingering. “Well, I think it’s worth it.”
Logan’s hand slid up to cup the back of your neck, his thumb brushing lightly against your skin as he deepened the kiss. When you finally pulled away, he rested his forehead against yours, his voice low and soft. “You’re worth it.”
Wade’s grin was almost as big as the ridiculous neon sign he’d stuck outside his apartment, flashing in obnoxious pink letters: "Wade Wilson: Love Doctor."
“So, how’d it go?” Wade asked, lounging on his couch with a bowl of popcorn like he was watching some kind of live soap opera.
Logan stood in the doorway, arms crossed, looking like he was five seconds away from strangling Wade. “You’re an idiot.”
Wade gasped, clutching his chest dramatically. “An idiot who got you back with your super-hot girlfriend? I’ll take it.”
Logan glared at him, but the usual threat behind the look was missing. “You’re lucky I don’t gut you right here.”
Wade tossed a piece of popcorn in the air and caught it in his mouth, grinning. “Please, you love me. Admit it. I saved your romantic ass.”
Logan let out a frustrated sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. “You didn’t save anything.”
Wade waggled his eyebrows, leaning forward. “So... did you say the line? Huh? Did you tell her she doesn’t annoy you, she makes you nervous? Was it super romantic? Did she melt? Were there fireworks? Wait—did you guys have apology sex?!”
Logan’s eye twitched. “Wade—”
“I mean, seriously, when do I get to meet her? We could totally do a double date! I’ll wear a tux, she’ll wear that leather jacket you’re always brooding in, it’ll be super cute—"
Logan growled. “You’re pushing it.”
Wade grinned, utterly unfazed. “Admit it. I’m a love genius. I’ve got a natural gift for this relationship stuff. Really, I should be writing books.”
Logan turned on his heel, already heading for the door. “I’m leaving before I do something we’ll both regret.”
“Bye, best friend!” Wade called after him, waving dramatically. “Tell your girlfriend I said hi! And that I want her number!”
Logan didn’t dignify that with a response, but as he stepped outside, he couldn’t help the small smile tugging at his lips. Wade might have been the biggest pain in the ass in the universe, but... maybe he was right about one thing.
Some things really were worth it.

Adventures in Babysitting - Steve Harrington x female!reader - Chapter 11
Chapter Summary: Steve and you are finally officially dating, the kids are finally in high school and no longer need any sort of official babysitting, and life is overall pretty damn good. You try to push aside the unease settling in your chest, but how long can you ignore it before it manifests into something much worse than you could possibly imagine.
Content Warning: swearing, bullying, trauma responses, intimacy
Word Count: 6.7k
Author’s Note: Sorry this took me longer to get out than some of the previous chapters. Life has been a bit hectic to say the very least (my brother low key got robbed and I was helping him sort some of it out), but I’m glad I was finally able to get this done! I’m looking forward to writing more of season 4!
Message me to be added to the taglist! Also, please send me asks! I love talking to you guys, so even if you want to tell me about something as mundane as what you had for breakfast, I’m happy to hear it :)

***
Spring break started soon, and despite having graduated and gotten out of the shit hole that is Hawkins High, Steve still drove you and Robin to school. You hadn’t stayed the night last night at Steve’s so you slid into the backseat behind him as you got in the car. Even though you were halfway through second semester, you still weren’t used to Steve not being there to walk you to your first period every morning like he had the year before.
Of course, you stepped right into the middle of an argument between your boyfriend and your best friend. At least they aren’t shoving each other like toddlers this time, you thought as you rolled your eyes and buckled your seatbelt.
“Cut me some slack, please! It is 7:00 in the morning, we have the stupid pep rally, and I woke up looking like a total corpse!” Robin shouted, pushing the skin on her face around as she looked in the visor mirror.
“Oh, you’re worried about a basketball pep rally? You expect me to believe that?” Steve shot back.
“Yeah? So?” Robin’s voice got small as she anticipated the trajectory of this conversation.
“So, we both know what this is about, okay? I’m not buying that bullshit, this is about Vickie!”
“Absolutely not!” Robin defended herself. You scoffed from the back seat, not believing a word of her lie as Steve spoke up again.
“It is, and you know what else?”
“Uh, I really don’t care,” Robin rolled her eyes while she continued to put on her lip balm.
“You gotta stop pretending to be someone else when you’re around her, okay? You just gotta—you just gotta be yourself,” Steve tried to give her a pep talk and you gaped from the backseat before chiming in.
“You do realize you are literally quoting her to her, right?”
“Hey, you stay out of this, and besides, maybe she needs to listen to herself,” Steve glared at you in the rearview mirror before turning back towards Robin, “ever think about that, smartypants? I listened to you and now look at me. Boom. Back in business.” He gestured back towards you as he said it and you rolled your eyes. You were, however, grateful that Robin had gotten involved because you didn’t know how much longer you could take Steve not making a move last summer.
“It’s not the same thing, okay. You ask out a girl like y/n and she says no, big deal. Nothing happens—”
Steve cut her off immediately, “what do you mean ‘nothing happens’? In that hypothetical I lose the love of my life, so yeah that’s a pretty big mother fucking deal!”
“For the sake of the hypothetical—“ Robin began again, “—maybe your ego’s a little bit bruised…but I ask out the wrong girl, and bam! I’m a town pariah.”
“Yeah, I’d buy that, except Vickie is definitely not the wrong girl,” you spoke up, leaning forward to feel more included in the conversation.
“We just don’t know that, do we?”
“She returned Fast Times paused at 53 minutes, 5 seconds,” Steve spoke up and you rolled your eyes, knowing exactly where his mind was going. “Do you know who pauses Fast Times at 53 minutes, 5 seconds? People who like boobies, Robin!”
“Ew!” You and Robin exclaimed in unison.
“Gross, don’t say boobies!” She scolded, causing the boy to just repeat himself like the immature idiot that he was.
“Boobies. Not a big deal, okay? I like boobies. You like boobies. Y/n has boobies—Vickie likes boobies! Definitely!”
“Hey, how about you not bring my tits into this?” You asked Steve, smacking his shoulder. “But I mean, I can’t disagree with him…Vickie definitely likes tits, I mean we have all the evidence,” you added as you turned toward Robin. She rolled her eyes and turned up the radio, deciding she was done with the conversation the three of you were having.
Steve pulled up to Hawkins High, parking briefly to let the two of you out. Before walking to the building you stopped at his door and he rolled the window down.
“Don’t go getting fired while I’m in class, okay?” You warned, smoothing out his vest that was wrinkled because often he couldn’t be bothered to iron it.
“I just wish you could be there, you know? The day just drags on and on and on when I’m working by myself, let alone when I have to work with Keith,” Steve responded, rolling his eyes. Since he had treated Jonathan so shitty when him and Nancy were together, Steve tried to move past the jealous side of himself, but now that he wasn’t even in school with you to see which assholes were hitting on you, it made turning over a new leaf all the more difficult.
“I know, but you are a grown ass adult and you can handle it. Besides, Robin and I will be there after school lets out, so you don’t have to miss me for too terribly long,” you reminded him, leaning into the car to place a gentle kiss on his lips. He smiled into it and you debated just getting back into his car so that you could make out in the break room at Family Video, but Robin’s voice rang out, causing you to jump and hit your head on the roof of the car.
“Hey shit birds, cool it with the PDA, we’re gonna be late,” Robin yelled out, and you grumbled, rubbing the back of your head as you moved away from Steve’s car to join her. You waved a goodbye to Steve as you bit back a smile before you turned and picked up the pace to join your friend.
You really hated pep rallies with the entirety of your being…and you knew that Robin would too if it weren’t for being in the band and getting to stand the whole time next to Vickie. You usually tried to stand next to the band so that you could at least talk to her, but your talk with Steve had slowed you down and the bleachers had filled up.
“Sorry! I can get Davis to try and get someone to move if you want me to. People usually listen to him because he’s borderline terrifying,” Robin apologized, gesturing behind her to the sousaphone player who was built like a tank. Hawkins High didn’t have football, otherwise you were nearly 1000% confident that he would’ve been goaded into joining the team.
“No, really it’s fine. Don’t worry about it,” you smiled at her and waved her on to go join Vickie in the stands. You started ascending the bleachers, trying to make your way to the back corner as you weaved through people who were cheering on the cheerleading squad (a bit redundant, you felt). Ever since you started dating Steve, you somehow became even less popular at school, which was a hard feat to accomplish. A lot of girls in your grade were still quite enamored with the boy and understandably disappointed that he was no longer available. As such, they quite deliberately chose to take it out on you.
Normally it didn’t really get to you, but recently it had been bothering you more. You had been used to it last year when you watched girls in the hall cast judgmental looks at you as Steve walked you to class…and that was before you were even officially an item. Now, without having Steve to be there to quell your nerves, you just felt lonely whenever Robin wasn’t around either to distract you from immature high school bullies.
You finally made it to the back corner of the bleachers, not without hearing some nasty comments directed at you. You sighed, crossing your arms and closing your eyes as you leaned against the wall.
“I take it you hate these things too?” A voice spoke up to ask you. You turned to see the familiar mop of long brown hair as you realized the voice belonged to Eddie Munson. You had never been in a class with him before this semester but you had become increasingly familiar with him due to the fact that Ms. O’Donell, your physics teacher, had desperately pleaded with you to tutor him so that he could graduate this year.
You had reluctantly agreed, mostly because you didn’t want to disappoint the poor woman, but it had been an exercise in frustration.
“Well, yeah, they aren’t my favorite. Especially since they’re typically full of people who somehow have a shit ton of school spirit but not even a modicum of decency and respect for me, so that is just…totally epic,” you rolled your eyes, frustrated with one classmate in particular, Claire, who had just tried to trip you on your way up the stairs.
“I studied by the way,” Eddie spoke up, when you looked at him with confusion, he continued, “for the physics quiz today? I studied for it.”
Suddenly, your face twisted in panic as you realized that you hadn’t. You’d been so busy with work and Steve and just trying to hold everything together that you had forgotten about the last assessment you had before going on spring break. “Fuck! I forgot about it.”
“Eh, you’ll do fine anyway,” Eddie replied nonchalantly. You were glad someone at least believed in you.
“Dustin’s still doing alright?” You asked the long haired boy beside you. Since Dustin was in high school now, he no longer needed a babysitter, and thus your career, in an official sense at least, had come to an end. You still saw him extremely regularly because Steve and him were still good friends, but you still worried about him. You knew he was a misfit, and being a misfit yourself it made you nervous that he had found himself in a crowd of…well, misfits. You didn’t want him to go through the same shit that you went through. You didn’t want him to be invisible like you.
“Henderson? He’s fucking awesome! Yeah, of course he’s fine,” Eddie replied, laughing as he shoved you in the shoulder. Even though everyone liked to talk about how much of a mess Eddie Munson was, you were glad that Ms. O’Donell’s arrangement had at least shown you that he wasn’t a bad guy. It was nice to have another friend at Hawkins High. “How’s Steve doing?” Eddie asked, not doing at great job at hiding his distaste for the graduate with the perfect hair.
You rolled your eyes at his tone before answering. “He’s great…I just thought dating the son of a bitch would mean that I’d get at least enough status here for people to not treat me like shit,” you chuckled.
Your conversation with Eddie fizzled out as the basketball team entered the gym. You couldn’t help but smile seeing Lucas on the court. He looked happy, so even though he was surrounded by meathead athletes, you couldn’t really be mad. You knew he was smart enough to make good decisions and he still had you all as a support group, so you tried to shove the worry down in your chest.
Jason Carver took the mic and began going on and on as he spoke. Though you really, really didn’t like the kid, you had to give him credit. He sure did know how to give a speech.
“…you know, I think I can speak for all of us when I say it’s been a tough year for Hawkins. So much loss. And sometimes I wonder, how much loss can one community take? In dark days like this, we need something to believe in. So last night, when we were down by ten points at half to Christian Academy, I looked at my team and I said think of Melissa. Think of Heather. Think of Billy. Think of our heroic police chief Jim Hopper. Think of each and every one of our friends who perished in that fire…”
That was when you stopped listening. Not a day went by that you didn’t think of the loss that you had faced. You didn’t need someone like Jason who didn’t know jack shit about loss to explain it to you. “I have to go,” you whispered to Eddie, and before he could respond, you slipped out of the bleachers, telling a teacher that you needed to use the restroom, and darting out the gym doors.
Robin noticed you leaving and quickly set her trumpet down, taking off her shako, which Vickie graciously took before darting down the hall after you.
“Y/n,” she yelled after you trying to catch up but you didn’t slow down, quickly evading her and turning a corner as you wiped tears from your eyes. “Y/n!”
She finally caught up to you, grabbing your wrist to stop you from running away from her. “What’s wrong?” She asked, eyes searching yours in an attempt to make sure you were okay.
“I don’t even know how to explain it,” you choked out, unable to keep your emotions at bay.
“Could you at least try?” Robin asked softly, running a hand up and down your arm to soothe the strong emotions you were feeling.
“I…I’m-I’m just tired of-of people like Jason trying to explain the loss to me. I get it! I know what it was like; I was there!” You stammered. Robin nodded, and you knew she understood what you were going through. You were eternally grateful that you had the support system that you had; you were never alone in your struggle which was both a blessing and a curse. You wouldn’t wish your experience with the supernatural on your worst enemy, so sometimes it was difficult to stomach the fact that your closest friends had experienced it alongside you.
“What can I do?” Robin asked, wanting nothing more than to make it better.
“I just…I think I need to leave,” you cried, wiping your eyes on your sleeve. Robin nodded, leading you out the doors of school to the pay phone right outside. Fortunately, with everyone tied up at the pep rally, there wasn’t anyone to stop the two of you as you put some coins in the telephone. Your fingers hesitated as you thought about who to call, finally settling before dialing the number.
After a couple rings, a familiar voice picked up. “Hello, this is Steve from Family Video, how can I help you today?”
“Steve,” you cried out and immediately he was on high alert.
“Y/n?! What’s wrong?! Are you okay? Where are you?”
“I-I’m at school, but-but I’m just…having one of those days you know?” Steve had been your rock through processing the trauma that your experiences with the Upside Down had brought you, so he very much understood that somedays were just too much for you.
“I need to talk to Keith really quickly, but then I’m going to come and pick you up, okay? You’re not by yourself, are you?” Steve asked, concern lacing his tone.
“No, Robin’s with me.”
“Good, good, good. Can you put her on the phone, baby?” Steve sounded frantic, and if you could have seen him, his anxious behaviors would have confirmed it. There he was, standing at the counter of Family Video, not even an hour into his shift when shit had to hit the fan. He ran his hands through his hair, trying to calm himself down, but knowing that you were upset was enough to keep him from being calm. There was a silence, before Robin’s voice rang out through the receiver.
“Hey.”
“How bad is she?” He cut to the chase.
“Um, I mean…you heard her,” Robin replied, speaking in vague terms so that you wouldn’t be offended by their conversation.
Steve sighed, jotting down a note on a piece of scratch paper, his version of “talking to Keith.” After he scribbled down the words, he refocused on the phone call. “Okay, Robin, here’s what you need to do. Take her to the nurse or something and find some way to get them to send her home. I don’t need her stressing about missing class unexcused, alright? You know how she is about that sort of stuff.”
“Got it. Just head out now, I should be able to get this sorted pretty quickly,” Robin confirmed, hanging up the phone and turning back to you. “Alright dingus number two, let’s get this all figured out.”
***
When Steve’s car pulled up, you felt relief flood your entire body. You wished that discussions of what happened last summer didn’t affect you as much as they did, but sometimes it all still caught you off guard.
The car halted to a stop as Steve quickly got out rushing over to you and scooping you into a tight hug. “Baby,” he whispered into your ear as you melted against him, tears soaking into his shirt.
“I’m sorry, Steve…I-I’m trying so hard, but then-then Jason started giving one of his dumbass speeches and I just lost it.”
“Shhhh, baby, it’s okay; you’re okay, I’m here now, alright?” Steve pulled away and put his hands on either side of your face to get you to look at him. There was so much sincerity in his eyes that it almost made you break all over again as you thought about how lucky you were to have him. “I’m gonna take you home, alright?”
You knew he was talking about his house, so you nodded. You thanked Robin and she gave you a weak smile before waving and walking back inside. You were grateful that she had stayed with you, but you felt bad that you had prevented her from spending time with Vickie. Steve opened the passenger door for you and once he was back in his seat, he started driving away from the hell hole that was Hawkins High.
“Steve, I really don’t want you to miss your shift,” you spoke up, looking at him innocently. He could just melt right there with the way that you looked at him.
“Y/n, don’t even worry about it, seriously. I’d much rather take care of you and make sure that you’re okay than be at that stupid job.”
“But Keith already kind of hates you…like a lot. I’ve got my uniform vest in my bag, let me just pick up a shift and I’ll work with you,” you offered. Steve looked at you hesitantly, but upon noticing the way that you had calmed down in his presence, he relented.
“Fine, but you’re not going to lift a finger while we’re working, okay? You’re just gonna sit there and look pretty and I’ll take care of everything,” he replied. He desperately wished he could lean over and kiss you right now but the last time he had tried to do that while driving, you’d scolded him and he almost crashed his BMW, so he decided that it wasn’t worth the risk…he had precious cargo.
You rolled your eyes and turned up the radio, biting back a smile. When you got to Family Video, you threw on your vest quickly, before you both entered the store. Keith stood scowling at the counter, holding up Steve’s sloppily handwritten note as if it was evidence in a crime, though to him it probably was.
“Dude, not cool.”
“Keith, did you even read the fucking note? Clearly it was an emergency,” Steve spat, as he gestured to you. He was tired of Keith being a complete ass all of the time.
“Y/n? Aren’t you supposed to be at school?” Keith asked, his demeanor suddenly drastically changing. Steve rolled his eyes and scoffed, knowing damn well that this dumbass had a fat crush on you.
“It’s a long story,” you sighed, “but I’m here and I’m willing to pick up an extra shift, so you can leave if you’d like.”
“You don’t have to tell me twice,” Keith spoke up, “but you better keep—“
“Keep an eye on him, make sure he doesn’t fuck up. Yeah, yeah, I know,” you sighed and Steve threw his hands up in exasperation. What the hell did I ever do to deserve this shit?
Keith exited the store, so now it was just you and Steve. Friday mornings at Family Video were usually pretty slow given the fact that most people were at work or school, so there really wasn’t much work to do.
“So, have you gotten any more acceptance letters?” Steve spoke up and asked as he began reorganizing one of the shelves. He held his breath as he waited for your answer. Though he wanted nothing more than for you to be able to attend the school of your dreams, he was afraid of what that meant for the two of you and your relationship.
“Yeah, a couple more actually,” you smiled up at Steve. You had a lot of the same fears that he did about the potential of moving away. It was scary to think about trying to stay together through that huge of a life change. And you knew that you would miss him like crazy. But Nancy and Jonathan are making it work, so of course you guys would be able to…right?
“Have you made any decisions yet?”
“Uh, no, not yet. I’m still waiting to get a few decisions back before I make one of my own,” you spoke up, your voice a little small. You weren’t going to tell Steve, but what you were really waiting on was your decision from Purdue. It was close enough that nothing would have to change. You could still see Steve whenever you wanted. You were neglecting to mention this to him, however, because you knew he constantly felt like he was holding you back. He didn’t want you to make your decision based on him, but you couldn’t help but take that into account.
These were the most stilted and awkward conversations the two of you had. You and Steve could talk for hours about really pretty much everything, but as soon as college came up, it was like your ability to effectively communicate went out the window.
It wasn’t long before the phone rang again, and you picked it up. “Hello, thank you for calling Family Video. I’m y/n, how can I help you?” Your retail voice spilled from your lips sweetly.
“Y/n, this is Dustin…Listen, Lucas has to play in the championship game tonight and we need another player for Hellfire tonight, so could you please, please, fill in for him? Just this once?” The boy begged.
“Um, absolutely not,” your customer service voice disappeared as soon as you knew who was on the other line. Dustin had roped you into playing D&D once before, feeling bad for the kids after Mike had come down with a bad cold and couldn’t play. First of all, Dustin had said it wouldn’t take long. Secondly, it had been the most miserable fourteen hours of your life, so there was no way in hell you were about to do it again.
Dustin started complaining over the phone, continuing to beg you to join, before you decided that you didn’t get paid enough for this shit, handing the phone off to Steve, saying “it’s for you.”
“Woah, woah, woah, cool off pipsqueak,” Steve sighed into the phone.
“Steve! Sweet, okay. Dude, I am about to offer you the most kick-ass opportunity that will ever get extended your direction. I mean, I’m talking immaculate storytelling, a badass group of people, more fun than you will ever have in your life. I’m talking—“
“Cut to the chase,” Steve cut the boy off and rolled his eyes.
“Right, yeah, okay. Lucas has to play basketball and we need an extra person for D&D tonight,” Dustin sighed, sounding a bit defeated, no longer attempting to put on the persuasive charm that he had started with.
“No. Can’t. Sorry. I have a date tonight.”
“Just move your date this one time, come on!” Dustin begged. Why did the two cool older kids in his life have to be dating each other? In Dustin’s opinion it made both of you significantly less cool.
“What, to hang out with you and Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson? Uh, yeah, I’ll pass,” Steve responded. You rolled your eyes at the nickname for the poor boy in your class. He really wasn’t that bad, but you weren’t about to lecture Steve about it.
“You’re just jealous ‘cause I have another older male friend,” Dustin retorted, attempting to get under Steve’s skin.
“Ew. Ugh, whatever. Besides, you know, I really dig this girl...who knows, maybe she could be the one,” he added, smiling at you as you beamed right back at him from your perch on the countertop.
“You two are fucking disgusting,” Dustin replied, scoffing.
“No, we’re cool as fuck, dipshit,” Steve shot back. The door suddenly swung open, as a group of three girls entered the store, the bell above the door chiming to its familiar tune. “Oh, I got some customers. Call you back, bye.” Steve hung up the phone, ignoring Henderson’s protests.
“Welcome to Family Video, how can I help you today?” You smiled at the group of girls. They were definitely from Steve’s graduating class, home on spring break already. They cast you a judgmental look before turning to Steve.
“Steve! Oh my goodness! It’s been so long since I saw you last,” one of the girls spoke up. When Steve stood staring, unsure of how to respond, her face fell a bit as she added, “it’s me…Alice.”
“Oh, right…how are…things?”
“Oh, life’s been just so peachy! It’s just, us gals need to have a little fun this spring break…you know how it is,” she laughed flirtatiously. “We were just hoping that you had a good movie recommendation for us.”
Steve looked at you and could tell that you weren’t happy with the way these girls were talking to him as if you weren’t even there, so he spoke up, wrapping an arm around you and hugging you close to him. “Yeah, actually. My girlfriend, y/n, and I went and saw Back to the Future together on our first date, and I would really recommend it. I can already tell it’s gonna be a classic, you know?”
At this, Alice frowned, glaring at you before plastering on a fake ass smile. “Aww, that’s so cute that you two are dating! It’s just so surprising, I never would have put you two together. You always seemed like you’d want to go for the more mature girls…the ones with more experience, you know? But I’m just so so happy for the two of you.”
“Yeah, we are really, really happy. Honestly haven’t met a better person than her. But thank you so much for the well wishes, Alex,” Steve responded with a smirk as he grabbed a copy of the movie from the counter. He knew exactly what he was doing, and didn’t feel a bit bad about the way the girl’s face fell as she looked between her two friends. “So, are you ready to check out your movie or what?”
“Actually, I think we’re going to make other plans for this evening,” she spat, “and it’s Alice.”
“Well, I’m sorry we couldn’t be of service to you today,” Steve narrowed his eyes as she turned around, sauntering out of the store with her two friends following closely behind. You rolled your eyes, but you were grateful that Steve at least recognized that the girls had ulterior motives.
“Thank you for that,” you chuckled awkwardly, putting the copy of the movie back on the shelf. You wished you could tell him that the girl’s words hadn’t gotten under your skin, but that would be a lie.
“She was a bitch in high school anyway. Hasn’t changed a bit…mature, my ass,” Steve grumbled, glaring at her car as they pulled away.
“So, we have a date tonight?” You spoke up, reminding Steve of what he had told Dustin. His words had been a surprise to you.
“Yeah, actually!” Steve beamed, “I was thinking we could go to the championship game for basketball tonight. You know, I just miss some of that stuff about high school sometimes, and I know that you miss seeing the kids as often, so I thought that it might be nice to see Lucas play…even if he is a bench warmer…And we’d get to see Robin! And maybe we could even help her with talking to Vickie and—“
“Steve,” you chuckled, “of course I want to go with you, so you can stop trying to sell me on it. That was very thoughtful of you.”
He moved towards you, grabbing you around the hips and pulling you into him until your hips were flush against his, “besides, I was thinking that afterwards, you could spend the night at mine, and we could…hang out some more.”
Your breath caught in your throat. You had been officially dating Steve for eight months and he still was able to make you weak at the knees with only a few words. Your mind flashed back to what Alice had said, about how you were inexperienced, and you thought about the fact that you and Steve hadn’t…gone all the way. You knew that he wanted to, and at first you were holding off because, even though you knew he changed, you still sometimes worried about his history of being a player. However, now that it had been eight months and you two still hadn’t had sex, you were pretty confident he was going to stick with you. Now your insecurities centered more around the fact that you hadn’t been intimate in that way with anyone before. What if he realized that you weren’t good enough and the spark disappeared? What if he didn’t want you anymore?
“Hey, is anyone in there? Earth to y/n, what’s going on?” Steve joke as he knocked his fingers gently against the side of your head. You giggled and leaned against his chest.
“Yeah, that sounds good to me,” you closed your eyes. He was just so perfect and you always felt like you were seconds away from losing him. He made you feel so comfortable, which sometimes paradoxically put you on edge. You pulled away, running your fingers through his perfect head of hair as you smiled up at him.
“I love you, y/n. I really, really do,” he looked down at you with his big brown puppy dog eyes.
“I love you too, Steve.”
***
Steve placed a gentle hand to your back as he guided you up the bleachers, making sure that you found a spot close to the band so that you could chat with Robin. You had barely gotten to your spots when the principal took the mic, his words ringing out through the gymnasium.
“Everyone now please rise for our national anthem. Singing for us tonight, we have a very special guest. All the way from Nashville, our very own Tammy Thompson!” The audience cheered as she walked into the gym, waving as if she was some sort of celebrity. You gaped as you and Steve looked over at Robin.
She began singing extremely off key, feedback from the microphone resonating through the gym. Steve leaned towards Robin, whispering, “told you…muppet!” You smacked him in the chest, and he looked at you in disbelief as you rolled your eyes.
“Okay, she does sound like a muppet,” Robin whispered back. Vickie laughed beside her and you smiled as she replied, kickstarting a small conversation between the two of them.
Tammy finally finished her screechy, godawful rendition of the national anthem and the game started. It was a nail biter, but you weren’t on edge until a player on your team got injured and suddenly Lucas Sinclair, season long bench warmer, was on the court.
“Oh my god, Steve,” you said, staring wide eyed at the court as you lazily slapped him in the chest to get his attention. He looked at you incredulously, given the fact that he had been paying much closer attention the whole time than you were.
“Let’s go Lucas! You’ve got this buddy!” Steve yelled out. Sure, he acted like the kids were just a massive pain in his ass, which they were most of the time, but he loved them more than life itself. Watching Lucas play, Steve couldn’t really believe the coach hadn’t put him in all season.
There were three seconds left in the game, and suddenly Lucas had the ball. Hawkins was down by one point, and Lucas shot the ball. You watched with bated breath as the basketball bounced around the rim. You grabbed Steve’s wrist, as you watched with a furrowed brow. Is this what it’s like to be a sport parent?
The ball finally sank into the hoop, and you began jumping up and down as the crowd erupted into cheers and applause. You turned and hugged Steve around his neck, needing somewhere to place all your anxiety-turned-adrenaline, now that the game was finally over. Even though Steve was a bit bummed that he hadn’t won a championship of his own, he was damn proud that Lucas had.
The whole basketball team surrounded Lucas, and you quickly made your way down the bleachers. After the team had celebrated and there was finally a break in the crowd, you approached Lucas, pulling him into a hug.
“Lucas, you were amazing! I’m so proud of you!”
“Thanks, y/n!” The boy beamed. He had been bummed that Dustin and Mike bailed on him, but seeing you there was an unexpected surprise, considering he knew how much you hated basketball.
“I assume the team will be celebrating?” You asked him with a knowing look. He looked at you sheepishly, which confirmed your assumption. “Look, I’m not going to tell you what to do, but please try and make good decisions. And if you need anything at all, just call Steve, okay? He can pick you up, it down’t matter what time it is, you just call, alright?”
Lucas rolled his eyes, somewhat annoyed at your maternal tendencies, but the way you cared about him still made him feel good, so he decided he’d forgive it. “Yeah, okay, I got it. Thanks again for coming guys,” he added, shaking Steve’s hand as Steve patted him on the back to congratulate him. Lucas jogged off with the rest of the team, leaving you and Steve to head out of the gym together.
Once you got to the parking lot, you saw the Hellfire boys exit another wing of the school and you marched off towards them, ignoring Steve’s protests.
“Hey, guys…how was the campaign? I see you found someone to fill in,” you chuckled as Erica gave you a hug. Despite her sassy attitude about 80% of the time, she could be really sweet on the rare occasion.
“It was awesome, y/n!” Erica beamed as she told you.
“Well, I’m glad to hear it,” you smiled down at her.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t the miraculous Ms. Y/n…you missed O’Donell’s quiz,” Eddie spoke up, looking at you with crossed arms.
“Yeah, I wasn’t feeling too well earlier, so I had to leave early,” you didn’t elaborate, “how’d it end up going?”
“It was pretty good. I actually don’t think I failed it this time, so thanks for the help. You know, I’m really fucking determined to graduate this go around.”
“Yeah? Well, I’m glad I could help,” you replied and Steve reached for your hand. You interlocked your fingers with his before you added, “well, we’d better get going…we have an early shift tomorrow, so I’ll see you suckers later.” You saluted with your free hand while Steve grumbled a goodbye and dragged you towards his car.
You got in the passenger seat and as he started it, you could tell he was a little frustrated. “What’s got your panties in a twist, huh?”
“It’s just, I didn’t know you were such good friends with Eddie,” Steve grumbled and you rolled your eyes, chuckling. He looked at you exasperated, in disbelief that you would laugh, but you just leaned in and caught his open mouthed expression in a kiss. He immediately softened at your touch, muttering an apology as you pulled away.
“Ms. O’Donell just asked me to help him with some of his physics shit since he’s dense as fuck. I promise you there is absolutely nothing going on between us…he’s just a friend.” Steve tried to shove his jealousy aside. He knew you wouldn’t lie to him. He just nodded as he drove off, brow still furrowed. You were getting worried that he wasn’t saying anything, but you were terrified of breaking the silence.
When you got to his house, he yanked your car door open, helping you out before grabbing your wrist and pulling you in his house and up the stairs to his bedroom. Normally he was pretty gentle with you, but this time he was a little rougher as he guided you to his bed. You sat down with a huff as he let go, looking at you with wild eyes.
“Steve, I’m sorry, I don’t know what I did wrong,” you spoke up beginning to tear up at the way the night was going. His expression softened a bit in surprise, but he reset it, sitting next to you and pulling you onto his lap to straddle him before placing his lips to your neck. He sucked harshly at the skin and you let out a gasp, melting at his touch.
“I’m not mad at you, baby…I could never be mad at you,” he assured you as he breathed across the expanse of your neck, sending a shiver up your spine. “I just get a little jealous sometimes is all…and I want to make it abundantly clear to everyone that you are 100% all mine,” he added as he sucked on your neck again, leaving visible marks and love bites.
You breathed out a small moan that was like music to his ears as he flipped you over so that you were lying down, continuing to kiss across your neck. He began to unbutton the first few buttons of your shirt, placing gentle kisses across your collarbones and down your chest, but your hands quickly darted up to stop him. He immediately let go, looking you in the eyes, searching for what was wrong.
“Steve, I’m sorry…I-I’m just not ready,” your voice cracked as you whispered, your eyes welling up with tears again. You hated disappointing him, and you were worried that he was going to lose interest in you.
“Y/n, please don’t cry…and don’t apologize either. I don’t want to do a damn thing until you’re ready for it, okay?” He assured you while you both sat up, looking you in the eyes with so much sincerity it made you want to cry all over again.
“It’s just….I-I keep thinking about what that girl said at work earlier…she was right you know? I am inexperienced and it’s embarrassing, and I just wish that I could be less weird about all of it and—“
Steve cut you off, “woah, woah, woah! I don’t give a fuck what that girl said. And who cares that you’re inexperienced? I swear that I don’t. Besides, it just means that when you are ready, I get to make sure I really take my time and make it real special for you, okay baby?”
You smiled up at him, leaning in to place a sweet kiss on his lips. He smiled into the kiss as it deepened, before pulling away to look at you again.
“I’m the luckiest guy on the planet, you know that?” You smiled at the praise, before he leaned in to place more kisses down your neck. Life was just so perfect.
Your heart rate quickened at the thought as your breath caught in your lungs. You knew better than to trust things to stay that way…a bad feeling settled in your chest as Steve continued to kiss and nip at your tender skin.
You pushed the thought away as you took a deep breath and allowed Steve to continue kissing you. If shit was about to hit the fan, you’d be damned if you let it cut this moment short. That was a problem for another day, you decided as you melted under Steve’s gentle touch.

T-08-385 (Those Who Create Shall Become Gods)
Title: Those Who Create Shall Become Gods
Subject Classification: T-08-385
Attack Type: Black
Risk Level: Aleph
Description: The abnormality takes the form of an abstract-looking statue with a simple easel next to it along with some paints. It is encouraged that the employee working with the abnormality paint something on the canvas. The longer the employee paints, the more they find themselves gaining an endless stream of ideas and a sudden boom in creativity, even if they aren't known for being all that imaginative. The abnormality may appear non-hostile at first, though it will end up becoming the opposite if a person stays with it for a long time. It is advised that an employee should not visit the abnormality three times. After those three attempts, the abnormality will telepathically feed the employee with dark and intrusive thoughts until they can’t take it anymore. This will cause the artist to go on a mad spree to make horrific art, even using their fluids and body parts to create something from it (a Good Result). Once the Qliphoth Counter reaches 0, the abnormality will breach. Causing those around it to be consumed with the morbid desire to create something, even if they have to use their own body to do so.
Quote: “We were born 'creatively'”
Flavor Text:
- “Now, try and listen to me and you'll see, how to think creatively”
- “Once <name> put their brush to the canvas, they were struck with an ocean of ideas to paint”
- “Feeling things that artists feel, never knowing what's for real”
- “Those Who Create Shall Become Gods stood behind <name> in a menacing manner, as if it was watching them paint”
- “Be CREATIVE with me”
- “The longer <name> painted, a growing sense of annoyance grew as they stared at the red paint. Their blood would be way more vibrant”
- “You probably will paint dissatisfaction similar to a work of art”

MEDIC! Part 29 (Donald Malarkey x Fem!OC)
Listen when I say these characters have a mind of their own, I mean it. I was just chilling writing the start of the last episode and then all of a sudden boom, we kissing and shit. Like ah excuse me, this wasn't in my plan, what are we doing? But hey they deserved a we treat and I mean so do we. So this chapter is definitely rated, if you aren't over 18, back! Back, I say! 🤺
TW: sexy time lmao, long chapter
Based on the HBO show and the actors who portray the characters, not hate to anyone involved.
Tag list: @imusicaddict, anyone else please let me know.
We entered Bavaria in early May, and we had been tasked in capturing Berchtesgaden. It was a town high in the Alps, and was the symbolic home of the Nazi party. Apparently all of the important men of the party had houses there. Even though the man was dead, Hitler had ordered the SS to make it their last stand to keep the enemy out of their “sacred” town.
I sighed, staring at the mass of boulders that blocked our way up the mountain, the hot sun beating down on my back. We had been stuck here for hours, waiting for someone with more artillery than we did, so we could blast our way through.
I hummed a tune twirling a curl around my finger, trying to remember all of the words to the song I had stuck in my head. I couldn’t for the life of me remember the lyrics, only the melody played on and on in my mind.
Lieb leaned against the wheel next to me smoking. “How long does it take for engineers to arrive?” I asked while shielding the sun from my eyes as I looked over to Lieb.
“Who knows?” He said while taking a deep drag from his cigarette, blowing the smoke in my face.
“Lieb!” I whined pushing him away as he chuckled.
“Stop humming, you’re driving me insane.” He retorted, shoving me back. “You just keep repeating the same part over and over again. You’re just as bad as Web and his stupid quotes from his literature.” I gawked offended by his comment, no way I was as annoying as Web.
“Ugh, rude!” I got up from my position, dusting the dirt off the back of my pants. Lieb grinned at me, knowing he had wound me up.
“Stop smirking!” I nudged his leg with my boot. “Take it back!” I crossed my arms over my chest, giving him my best pissed off face.
“You’re not as annoying as Web.” Joe held his hands up in surrender. I laughed, smiling down at Lieb, who grinned back at me.
“What about me?” Web startled me as he snuck up from behind. My eyes grew wide, plastering a smile on my face.
“Web you need to stop sneaking up on me, seriously.” I burst out laughing, fortunately he hadn’t heard what we were talking about.
I loved Web, he was so sweet, but his endless love for literature got very tiring. Somehow the conversation with him always ended in his love of books and all things written. Half the time I had no clue what he was talking about, I would nod and smile adding in, “Oh that’s so interesting.” But I wasn’t listening by that point anymore.
“We were just talking about how long it would take the engineers to arrive.” I skipped over the most recent conversation we had, I didn’t want to hurt the poor man's feelings.
“I think they are going to try something right now. Everyone is getting tired of waiting.” Web pointed to the pile of rocks that blocked the road.
I peaked my head over the truck to catch a glimpse of two soldiers standing in the middle of the road with one of the bazooka's we had with us. I covered my ears just in time to muffle the explosion that blasted into the debris.
“I don’t think that will work.” I huffed, it had hardly made a dent in the huge pile.
“No, but that does look fun.” Web grinned admiring the massive explosion.
“Yeah!” Lieb launched to his feet. “Web, we should go help.” Web and Joe excitedly nodded at each other racing off to the front of the road.
“Ok, bye.” I said to the pair's back as they enthusiastically scurried away.
I slumped down again, the same song still stuck in my head.
“Aw, Em.” A large hand reached down and ruffled my hair. I looked up to find Bull standing over me.
“They ditched me, for explosives. Can you believe that?” I asked in astonishment.
A wry grin formed on Bull’s lips, he tilted his head to the side with a hearty chuckle. “I can’t say I am, little lady.” He said in his thick country accent.
“No you’re right. I’m not shocked.” I laughed, shaking my head.
I looked over to find Web and Lieb stacking grenades on the landslide of rocks. They sprinted back to where the two other soldiers stood still with the bazooka. Their grin’s were child-like as they ran back.
Bull and I watched them, laughing at how excited they all seemed to be. Was it really that much fun blowing things up?
They didn’t wait long, firing the rocket right into the pile of explosives the pair had set. The ground shook, as the booming echoed around the mountains. But still the pile of rocks seemed to remain the same, at least they were having fun. It was nice to see genuine smiles on their faces.
“Easy!” Speirs yelled from the front of the trucks. “Let’s move out!” Spiers grinned widely with a skip in his step as he made his way back through the parked vehicles.
“Are we not waiting for the engineers anymore?” I leaned over to Bull.
“Guess not.” Bull smiled. “We better get moving, come on.” He took me by the crook of my arm, leading the way behind Speirs who was getting together all of Easy so that we could leave.
*****************************
“It’s so quiet.” I whispered to Don as we walked. He nodded in agreement before turning back to the task at hand.
Easy Company tiptoed silently down the empty streets, the group had found an alternative route up the mountain. We had been told to be on guard, and to expect the unexpected.
So the soldiers walked through the streets with their weapons drawn, readying themselves for whatever was waiting for us.
The town was eerily still, white flags hung from the windows of the houses we passed. The town appeared empty, there was no one present. The deserted village sent shivers up my back. Something that should be so busy and bustling with life now sat forlorn and abandoned.
Still I couldn’t deny that the place was beautiful even in its abandonment. The houses looked cosy and quaint as the tall mountains loomed over the small village.
My eyes darted from one place to another, taking in all the sights that laid before me. A large red banner caught my attention.
“Jesus.” I muttered to myself, eyes practically bulging out of my head as I took in the large swastika that covered the building in front of us.
It was strange to see a symbol that meant peace and well-being have such a sinister feeling now attached to it.
“Well, they really weren’t hiding it were they.” Grant said from beside me as we both gawked at banner’s.
“Nope.” I agreed with the man.
We made our way inside the big building that had ‘Berchtesgadener hof’ proudly displayed over the entrance.
“Was it a hotel?” I leaned over to whisper to Don as we walked inside what appeared to be the foyer.
“I think so.” Don confirmed.
Like the town the hotel was just as quiet, no guests seemed to be staying or staff either.
I shied away from the brass sculpture of Hitler, that was prominently displayed in the middle of one of the rooms we walked through as we continued to search the building.
A clanging made me jump from my skin, we rounded the corner to find a lone clerk being held at gunpoint by Lew. His eyes darted from Nixon to the rather large book that sat on the desk.
“Looks like a guest book.” I said loudly, glancing over to Lew who nodded his head.
“Everyone who was anyone signed into this hotel. And now we have all the dates and names of anyone who ever supported Hitler in his plans.” Lew said as he flicked through the book.
“Guess there are staff after all.” I mused, watching the clerk scamper away.
************************************
Don and I walked around together forgetting the mission at hand, being too caught up in the lavish hotel.
“Should we sneak into one of the rooms? See if the bath works?” Don asked suggestively, wiggling his eyebrows at me.
“Donald!” I giggled at the man giving him a whack. “No, well. No, we couldn’t. Well.” I debated the very enticing idea.
“Oh come on! Speirs is probably out there now stealing all the silverware.” Don grinned at me, his fingers finding the nook of my arm to bring me along in his mischief.
“Fine! We will look, quickly.” I added but not putting up much of a fight as Don dragged me down one of the halls.
We pried open one of the doors, standing in the entrance way admiring the room. In the middle of the room sat a giant four poster bed. The duvet looked elegant, satin and lace coverings, with large fluffy pillows adorning the head. Across the room a tall window opened up, looking over the alps that surrounded the town.
Don and I moved further into the room, finding our way into the bathroom, which seemed to be even bigger than the master suite. A white clawfoot bathtub stood proudly in the middle of the space.
The far side of the room was taken up by a vanity that covered the width of the wall, with large basins that you could bathe in, if you so wished.
“Fucking hell.” I uttered, completely in awe of it all.
“Yup!” Don nodded as we looked over all of the interior. Even the ceilings were beautiful, fluffy white clouds and the bluest sky had been painted onto the roof of the bathroom. Gold accents of branches and leaves vined out into the sky. Everywhere my eyes could see the room was filled with exquisite details.
“It’s stunning.” I couldn’t pick my jaw off the floor.
“Eh, it’s alright. I’ve seen better.” Don shrugged, not seeming impressed with the glamour.
“What?! When?” I asked in disbelief.
“I have, truly.” I shook my head scoffing at him.
“When?” I eyed him suspiciously.
“Well.” Don started slowly making his way over to me. His stride was confident, freezing me in place. I sucked in a breath as he drew near, suddenly it wasn’t funny anymore. The look in his eyes sent the butterflies in my stomach into a frenzy.
“There’s you.” Don had moved closer to me, my back pressed into the cold marble basin. My breath hitched in my throat as he leaned even further into me.
We weren’t even touching yet, but the way Don took up the space had me stunned into silence.
“You’ve gone all quiet on me.” He teased, deliberately placing his hands either side of my body, caging me into him.
Goosebumps rose on my skin, I felt my cheeks flush. How had he turned this around so quickly?
“Emily?” My full name dripped off his tongue, as he smirked at me tilting his head ever so slightly. He knew what he was doing to me.
I swallowed, trying to find my voice again.
“What are you doing?” I asked softly, scared if I raised my voice too much it would disturb whatever was happening.
“Nothing.” Don breathed, leaning further forward. “Is there something you want me to do?” His whispers tickled my neck. I hid away the sensitive skin, turning to meet his gaze.
My heart pounded in my ears as our eyes locked. His stare was full of want, I almost melted into a puddle right then.
“Stop teasing me.” I pleaded. The tension was overwhelming but exhilarating at the same time. It felt as if I was a raw nerve, the slightest of touch would set me on fire.
“Oh my love, I’m not teasing.” Don smiled, but it wasn’t his normal smile. There was another intention behind it. I gasped as his hand cupped my cheek gently tracing over my jawline, it was only a slight brush but I found myself leaning into his palm. He didn’t give me the satisfaction, stealing away the brief contact.
I glared at the man. Don was clearly teasing me.
“Don.” I protested, trying to find his hand to bring back up to my face. But instead he found me first, holding my wrist still.
I tried again with my free hand but it was no use Don had me pinned.
I groaned in frustration.
“You’re teasing me.” I whined, huffing.
My annoyance didn’t seem to deter Don from his antics. He moved forward his mouth inches away from my ear.
“You have to ask nicely.” Don’s lips brushed over the sensitive skin of my jaw. I suppressed a moan by trapping my lip between my teeth.
“Please. Donald Malarkey, you have me. Now do something about it.” I challenged him.
A smile formed on his lips but I only saw it for a split second before his lips crashed into mine. I sighed into the kiss as his hands cupped my face pulling me closer to him. My hands roamed around his body, tracing anything I could get my hands on. I didn’t realise how much tension had built from our last kiss, but I needed him so badly it hurt.
Don swiftly lifted me up, sitting me on the edge of the basin as we continued to kiss. I opened my mouth as our tongues swirled together. It was an addiction, I couldn’t get enough. I needed him closer. I grabbed at the fabric that impeded me from Don.
I tugged off his jacket, too busy kissing him to see where I threw it. Don’s hand’s did the same pulling the material from my arms tossing the item to the side. I gasped as he pulled me forward, sliding me to the very edge of the bench. Don pressed himself to me, even with pants on I could feel everything.
“Off, I need this off!” I said breathlessly, pulling at his collar. I helped him tug off the t-shirt, admiring his body lovingly. I raked my fingers down his chest, sliding my hand below his belt. Don shuddered seemingly immobilised as I palmed his front.
Don snatched my wrist, a wry grin forming on his features, “We have plenty of time for that later.”
A pout formed on my lips. He moved forward kissing me gently. Unlike before he savoured the kiss. Don’s lips moved over my face, gently placing kisses at the corners of my lips, by the creases of my eyes, my temples and cheeks. His touch was so soft but everytime he moved to a different spot I could still feel the last caress.
I captured his face in my hands, my thumbs tracing over his features. With each movement I kissed him gently.
I sighed in pleasure as Don’s hands found the small of my back pulling me even closer.
“Take it off.” I begged, needing the fabric that separated us to be removed. Don’s finger’s found the hem of my shirt, slowly dragging it up my body. I arched into him, enjoying the feeling of his fingertips brushing on my skin.
Don threw my top to the side, I didn’t have the patience to be admired just yet, still sporting a bra. I brought his hands around my back to the clasp.
He made quick work of the fastening. I felt it loosen from my back as he pulled the straps over my shoulders and down my arms.
I sat half naked watching Don take me in. He blew out a breath, shaking his head slightly.
“Fucking hell. And you’re all mine.” Don said to himself, I giggled at him.
“Donald, stop gawking and kiss me.” I said my tone was playful. But I didn’t need to tell him twice. He moved forward pressing us together, his fingers dragged down my exposed back sending shivers up my spine.
Don’s head dipped down to my neck slowly trailing his lips down my skin. I leaned back enjoying the feeling of his tongue swirling down my body. I gasped when his mouth latched onto the soft flesh of my chest.
Don’s lips nipped and sucked, finding his way down to my erect nipple. His other hand massaging my other breast as he assaulted my nipple with his mouth. I leaned my head back, mouth open in pleasure, moans and gasps fell from my lips in hasty succession.
He moved to my other breast giving it the same treatment as the previous. I panted and bucked against him, the feeling of his kisses and hands sending me spiralling.
“Fuck! Holy fuck.” I groaned watching him enjoy me. The wetness between my legs somehow grew more. I pulled his face back up to mine, needing his lips on my own again.
My hands snaked down to his pants, trying my best to undo his belt while not being able to see. It was harder than I thought, after a while of fumbling around I finally pulled away to glance down at what I was doing.
“Desperate?” Donald asked, smirking. I didn’t even deny it, breathlessly nodding my head while still trying to yank the belt from his pants.
“I have waited far too long for a belt to put a stop to it.” I groaned, still failing at the simple job.
“You’ve waited, oh my love, you don’t know the half of it.” Donald’s hands found mine, taking over the task. I watched him easily pull the belt free and remove it from his trousers. Don undid the button, loosening them around his hips. I greedily licked my lips moving my hands to his waistband tugging them down. I bit my lip, a shy smile formed on my mouth.
I couldn’t wait any longer, my own hands unbuttoning my pants and trying my best to shimmy them down while still being perched on the counter.
“So impatient!” Don tutted, his arms lifting me so I could successfully pull down my clothing.
I kicked off the green cargo pants, leaving us both in just our underwear. I giggled, somehow the innocent looking in the rooms had gotten out of hand.
Don kissed me again, his fingers lazily dragging around my body and into my hair. I did the same, tangling my fingers in his and pulling gently. A low moan left his lips as he moved his mouth over mine. The electricity between us was almost palpable, with every touch and sound I could feel the lustful energy flowing through my body.
I yelped in surprise as Don lifted me so easily from the basin. I didn’t look where he was taking us too busy assaulting his face and neck with kisses.
We landed gently on the decadent bed, but Don and I were too enraptured in each other to truly appreciate the comfort of the soft mattress and the silk sheets against our skin.
Don ran his fingers down my side, teasingly stopping around the hem of my underwear. He pulled it back, snapping the waistband against my skin. In the same movement Don dipped his head down, trailing soft kisses down my skin and stopping near my collarbone to nip at the sensitive skin.
His hand slipped down between my thighs, caressing around my hips. I rocked back, eyes closed in pleasure. I couldn’t stifle the loud moans that fell from my lips.
I could feel his smirk as he placed more feverish kisses around my navel, his hands roaming around my thighs never quite landing where I needed them too. Don was making me beg for it.
Don’s touch continued down towards my hips, his lips finding the right spots to make me squirm and bite my lip in desperation.
“Don.” I pleaded through my pants.
“Yes my love?” He said with a smirk, as his kisses wandered down, his touch still tantalising and teasing. I could feel Don’s breath against my core, as he continued to run his fingers along my inner thighs.
“Stop teasing me!” I whined.
Don chuckled at my pleading, looking up at me with a devilish smile. I watched as he bit my inner thigh gently in response.
“Beg for it.” He said in a low husky voice that was filled with desire.
“Please Donald, make me feel alive!” I begged, feeling so vulnerable in his arms.
“I love you.” Don said before he pulled my underwear from my body, taking his time admiring me placing sweet kisses to the soft skin between my legs. I groaned as his mouth found my core, his hot tongue swirling over my bud of nerves.
I cried out in pleasure as he feasted on me, I gripped onto his hair hanging on for dear life as he shook me to my core. I trembled in ecstasy as Don’s tongue dipped inside of me.
Don seemed to enjoy seeing me come undone, moaning against my core. His fingers slipped inside of me pulling in and out with force.
I threw my head back screaming into my free hand that covered my mouth. I arched and bucked against his every move. Don’s free hand pinned me to the bed to stop me from escaping the overwhelming feeling that rippled throughout my body.
He sucked and nipped at my sensitive core as he worked his fingers in and out of my entrance.
Bright colours swarmed my vision as I shook, I had reached my climax. I held onto Don, the only thing that seemed to be grounding me to reality. It felt as if I had left my body, floating above the scene that was playing before me. Don did not stop his movements, riding out the orgasm as long as he could.
My breath left me as I writhed under his touch, I didn’t think that it could last long, but I was still overcome by my euphoric satisfaction.
Finally he let me come down, pulling away from my core. I caught my breath, eyes still closed trying to come back to the real world, rather than the cloud I was floating on.
“I think you were trying to kill me.” I panted as Don moved back up to kiss me gently on my lips.
“What’s more alive than being nearly half dead?” Don chuckled as he lay against me, his fingers tangling into my hair and pulling me towards him. He rested his forehead against mine, our breaths mixing together as we enjoyed the quiet moment.
I closed my eyes enjoying the simple sounds, his soft breaths fanning on my face, and the quiet heartbeat that pulsed against my own chest. I kissed him again, I kissed him like I would never see him again.
My hands travelled down his torso, it was my turn to show him how much I loved him. I palmed his hard cock through his underwear. Don groaned into my mouth, keeping his eyes squeezed shut.
I trailed my kisses down his neck, chest and stomach. Don sighed in pleasure, lying his head back against the bed. Every touch under his hands and the feeling of his skin on mine, I felt the love and desire he had for me, I wanted him to feel the same as I kissed him. I wanted to make him want me more than ever.
I let my tongue drag down his hips, swirling over the sensitive skin. I needed to drive him insane with desire, like he had me only moments before.
Tugging down his briefs his hard cock sprung free. I tossed the item of clothing to the side. I bit my lip taking in his size, how he had hidden that from me I had no idea. I wrapped my hand around the base stroking my thumb gently up the shaft. Don shuddered under my grip, groaning huskily.
Don propped himself up on his elbows and I started slowly moving my hand up and down his length. I licked my lips desperately wanting to taste him.
“Jesus christ Emily, you’re going to be the death of me.” Don muttered a mix of shock and pleasure on his face.
I grinned. I continued to stare at him as I moved forward, my tongue darting out to swirl around his tip. His cock twitched in my hand, Don looked as if he was going to pass out.
“Now who’s teasing?” He leaned forward brushing a curl out of my face. I wrapped my lips around him sucking. Donald inhaled sharply tensing under my touch. I moved further down, bringing more of him into my mouth. Don’s breaths grew uneven as I continued.
I bobbed my head up and down, taking as much of him as I could into my throat. My hand still gripped the base of his cock moving as I sucked and licked.
“Oh god!” Donald moaned watching me with lust filled eyes.
I pulled back sucking in air as I continued to massage his cock with my hand. Don gripped onto the bed sheets panting heavily. His fingers weaved into my hair, gripping just as tightly as he was the fabric under him. I continued my assault, my pace becoming faster.
“Don’t stop my love.” He begged, he was almost to his limit. I did as he asked, continuing my rhythm.
“I’m going to cum!” Don whined pulling back from me, but I held his hips steady, looking up at him through my lashes. I wanted to taste him like he tasted me. I didn’t stop, bobbing my head and sucking. I felt his body jolt under me, hot liquid filled my mouth as I watched Don’s eyes roll back in his head.
“Em.” Don breathed, sitting up from his position and moving down to where I knelt between his legs. His hands cupped my face peppering my skin with light kisses. Don pulled me up to him, as we laid back down against the bed, limbs tangled and bodies entwined. A moment of pure serenity as we embraced each other, basking in the warmth of one another.
“I love you.” I whispered as we gazed into each other’s eyes.
“I love you.” Don lips brushed against my skin.
“Guys we’re leaving!” The door burst open as Babe and George sauntered into the room. Both Don and I screamed in surprise, scrambling to hide ourselves. Don dove over me, covering my body with his. His ass out in the wind for all to see. George and Babe’s eyes bulged seeing their friends bare butt pointing right in their direction.
“Get out!!” Don screeched, as I hid beneath him trying to contain my fit of giggles.
“Oh my god!” George gasped covering his mouth as Babe stared wide eyed at us.
“Guys get the fuck out, right now!!” Don demanded the men leave. But it still didn’t work, the pair didn’t budge.
“What is going on here?” George asked through bouts of laughter he shared with Babe.
Don grabbed the nearest pillow chucking at the heads of the two men who were crying with laughter.
“OUT!” Don yelled, but he was trying not to laugh as well. I wrapped my arms around his waist keeping him close to me. Don was the only thing keeping my naked body out of sight of the pair of idiots who howled with laughter in the still wide open door.
“Fine, we will go. But it’s going to cost you.” George waggled his finger at us as he hauled the still hysterical Babe out of the room. The door clicked shut, as it did so both Don and I sighed in relief.
“You didn’t lock the door!” I playfully smacked his chest as he grinned down at me.
“Neither did you!” But we couldn’t stop our own giggles from escaping our lips.

Sonic Boom - S3E11
Episode title: Having A Mecha Good Time
Summary: Sonic's testing out his mech, but is struggling to keep it charged up. Shadow has something that might help, but unfortunately, Eggman interferes (as always) and messes things up.

[Episode opens on Shadow in his cave. The camera follows him as he walks farther back, to the same shelves where he stored the grey sheep in episode five. The sheep is visible in the background as he searches the shelves and the stacks of boxes below them for something else.]
“Ugh, where is it…” he muttered, digging through the old cardboard boxes one by one. Many of them were filled with strange and mostly broken machinery, some more organized than others.
[Camera shows a few pieces of metal and crystal with odd carvings clattering to the floor as he looks.]
Suddenly, his fingers closed on a gleaming diamond-shaped crystal, etched with a variety of complex patterns. He studied it carefully for a moment, making sure that it emanated a clear blue light and nothing else.
Once he was satisfied, he stowed the crystal in his quills. “Alright,” he sighed, “let’s just hope this is compatible…”
…
[The same intro sequence plays as last time, but Shadow is slightly less irritated. He still refuses to play along with the others, but is no longer outright angry.]
[Eggman’s villain reveal follows the usual green screen sequence…except it doesn’t malfunction, and the outline of his mech from Og Man Out appears behind him in red as well.]
[The intro then continues on, before ending with the title of this week’s episode.]
…
Shadow appeared at the entrance to Tails’s workshop, sliding open the door right as a laser beam shot above his head. He immediately dropped into a battle stance, prepared to fight—only to see that it was just Sonic messing around in his mech, like he’d been doing all day long.
“Hey Shadow!” the fox called, sitting at his computer station (which was currently protected by a reinforced blast shield). “You here to see how long it takes for the mech’s battery to wear down again?”
Sonic groaned. “It just died. It’s barely gonna last me one battle like this!”
Shadow glanced over at him. “That’s probably because you’re trying to power it with the energy from this workshop.”
“Yeah, and?” the hero asked. “We gave it some juice before and it worked just fine when Eggman made his mech—it’s only now that it won’t take right!”
Shadow began to walk over to Tails, rolling his eyes. “You forget, I had this thing for quite some time before you and your friends ‘discovered’ it, so I know more about how it works.” he said, complete with air quotes around the word ‘discovered’. “The only reason the mech functioned for as long as it did then is because it had leftover power from the symbiote chip in addition to your attempts to recharge it. Now that you’re trying to run its systems on solely ordinary electricity, it won’t last nearly as long. The amount of power required to keep it active is immense.”
Tails shrugged. “So I’ll jack up the power then. I have enough electricity stored to boost it.”
“You absolutely should not do that.” Shadow replied, shaking his head. “You’ll fry the circuitry in that thing. It’s designed to respond to energy from Chaos Shards and neural networks, not crude electricity.”
“And, uh, also don’t do that with me inside the mech, please?” Sonic added.
“So what do you think we should do then, oh all-knowing Ancient expert?” Tails shot back, smirking.
“Ooh, burn!” Sonic laughed.
Shadow resisted the urge to facepalm. “If you would listen to me, then you would know that I think you should use one of these.” With that, he reached into his quills and handed over the symbiote chip he’d found in his cave earlier.
Tails promptly shrieked and dropped it as though it had burned him.
The striped hedgehog snatched it out of the air, his eyes wide. “What was that for? These things aren’t weak, but they can still break, you know!”
Sonic winced. “Uh…the last one of those we found kinda turned me into an evil jerk.”
“Was it red?” Shadow asked. “Do you still have it?”
Tails smiled awkwardly. “It was red, but we don’t have it anymore. Amy…kinda smashed it with her hammer.”
“To be fair, from what I was told, I was being a full-on villain by the time the others got me outta there.” Sonic explained, leaping out of the mech.
Shadow frowned, confused. “There should have been a display that told you the status of the chip, though.”
“There wasn’t…but hang on, how do you know that much about it?” Sonic asked.
Shadow froze. “I found schematics for the mech in its control seat, but an animal stole them one night.” he said quickly, looking away.
Sonic snickered. “Forest: one, Shadow: zero.”
The other hedgehog let out a long sigh. “Ugh. Here, let me show you how this thing is supposed to work.” He stalked over to the mech and shoved the symbiote chip into its proper place, making the entire thing light up with cyan lines.
“There.” Shadow said, folding his arms triumphantly. “One perfectly safe mech, all ready to go.”
Sonic inched towards it cautiously. “And if I start being weird again, you’ll pull me out, right?”
“Of course.” Shadow replied, softening his voice slightly. “I promise.”
That seemed to be more than enough for the hero, as he jumped right in, powering the mech on. “Whoa!” he gasped, seeing the full display for the first time ever. It showed the time, date, current weather, and his exact longitude and latitude, as well as a tiny map.
(While he didn’t notice this, the map was significantly incorrect, as it showed Seaside Island mostly covered by a giant city instead of sparsely populated…)
The machine scanned both of his friends, labeling Tails as “Age: appx. 11 yrs - Species: unknown - Threat: Minimal—High” and Shadow as “Age: appx. 17.5 years - Species: unknown - Threat: Moderate—High”.
Sonic glanced around a bit nervously. “Uh, guys, I think it just targeted both of you or something?”
Shadow stepped forward. “There should be some sort of switch you can press. It’s currently in attack mode, but I think you can switch it to a more defensive mode or even a pacifist setting.”
The hero fiddled around with the controls for a minute, making the mech cycle through colors rapidly by accident…which then gave him two problems to fix. (Even if he didn’t really think that second one qualified as a “problem” but instead “really cool”.) Thankfully, he eventually managed to solve both of them with some guidance from his friends, leaving the mech in a more relaxed position.
“Hey, this says ‘full motion test’.” Sonic said, getting more and more excited now that he was assured the mech was safe and under his control. “I wonder what happens if I—”
“Wait, maybe you shouldn’t—” Shadow began, but it was already too late. The mech had begun to run its full range of motion, including windmilling its arms, balancing on one foot, both at once, and (for whatever reason) doing the Macarena, complete with music.
By the end, Sonic and Tails were both crying with laughter, while Shadow was sitting down with his face buried in his hands.
“C’mon, Shads, wasn’t it funny?” Sonic asked teasingly.
“The…only other thing that I managed to make out on those schematics was that this was intended for serious fighting.” Shadow explained, still looking like he was fighting the urge to cringe. “You just made a deadly machine do the Macarena.”
“Well, technically, whoever programmed it made it do the Macarena…” Tails said, fighting off giggles.
Shadow shook his head, taking a deep breath. “Fine.” he said, but there was a hint of a smile on his face. “Just try not to blow anything up.”
…
Soon enough, the rest of the team appeared to check out this second attempt at using the mech, though some were more skeptical than others. Knuckles jumped right in, challenging Sonic to a no-holds-barred wrestling match (that the former was somehow currently winning).
Amy, on the other hand, had multiple questions for Shadow. “How do you know it’s safe?” she asked him.
“I read the schematics I found with it, but they eventually went missing.” he explained.
“He said an animal stole them!” Tails called from his position as both referee and commentator, making Amy laugh and Shadow huff.
“It was probably working for the government.” Sticks whispered.
“No, but really, how do you know it’s safe?” Amy insisted.
“You see how the chip is glowing blue?” Shadow pointed out. “If you see any red—or even a hint of purple—that means it’s broken or corrupted. If that happens, you should absolutely rip it out and break it as soon as possible.”
Amy nodded. “That’s good enough for now. The other question I have is: why did you think it would be a good idea to give Sonic more weapons?”
Shadow blinked. “Oh. Good point.”
“So what you’re saying is, you didn’t think.” Amy said, smirking.
“Shut. Up.” he grumbled unhappily.
“I still think it’s part of a plan by the robots to trick us into thinking they’re our friends.” Sticks explained. “And just when our society begins to rely on them…boom! They’ll turn us all into robots too!”
Shadow’s expression flattened abruptly at that.
“Sticks, I’m feeling fine.” Sonic called, having just lost the match. “This new chip is actually really great!”
“Sure, you’re feeling fine now…but you might not forever.” Sticks said ominously.
Sonic shrugged, making the mech’s shoulders move up and down as well. “I trust Shadow.”
The hedgehog in question looked away quickly, his arms tightly folded against his chest. “Well.” he said, his voice strained and small. “You trust plenty of people. Too many, in my opinion.”
“Yeah, but you’re my friend. That’s different.” Sonic insisted.
Unseen, Shadow smiled quietly as the hero turned back to round three of his fighting match.
…
As Sonic continued to stomp around the workshop area excitably, two robots watched from the bushes outside. They were supposed to be sneaking around, but considering that they were, well, Orbot and Cubot, that wasn’t going so well.
“Hey, what’s he doing now?” Cubot asked loudly.
“Shh! Keep your voice down!” Orbot hissed, dragging him back down. “We are supposed to be spying on Sonic!”
“Can we go home yet?” the yellow robot whined. “These bushes are making me itchy.”
“How does that even—oh, never mind.” Orbot sighed. “I think we’ve learned enough now, let’s go home.”
…
“Oh ho ho, so that’s what Sonic’s been up to!” Eggman chuckled. “Well, two can play at that game.”
“I heard them talking about something…they called it a ‘symbiote chip’?” Orbot added nervously.
“No, I heard them say ‘antidote dip’.” Cubot interjected.
“I see…a symbiote chip, hm?” The doctor stroked his mustache thoughtfully, completely ignoring Cubot in the process. “Well, there’s no technology I can’t surpass with enough time—so I suppose I should start working!”
[A montage ensues, alternating between images of Eggman working hard in his lab and the team (now including Shadow) messing around with the mech. Eggman does a variety of tasks involving complex equipment…including downloading some pieces of software designed to emulate Ancient technology into a custom-built disk.]
[Meanwhile, Sonic is delighted to discover that he can now pick up all of his friends with ease, and they use this new ability to take a variety of funny pictures. Shadow is a little hesitant at first, but as time goes on he seems to accept this silliness and even begins to enjoy it.]
[The montage ends with Eggman inserting a disk with pieces of glowing red machinery into his mech, complete with ominous music in the background.]
…
Sonic and his friends were careful not to take the machine anywhere near the village, considering how much damage it had caused last time. He did, however, give each of them a chance to ride in it as well, though Sticks and Shadow both ended up turning it down.
Knuckles was currently doing his best to lift the mech and carry it around, while Sonic and Sticks cheered him on and the three others all flinched every time his hands slipped.
“Why are we messing around with this again?” Amy asked, sick of wincing so often.
“Hey, you were ready to hop in the driver’s seat when I offered!” Sonic said.
She sighed. “That’s different. It’s meant to be driven, not to be used for weightlifting!”
Knuckles peered out from behind the machine. “Anything can be used for weightlifting if you try hard enough!”
Shadow, Amy and Tails all gave him flat looks at that.
Suddenly, however, a loud explosion pulled them out of their argument. The ground shook beneath the team (and Knuckles just barely managed to set the mech down before crashing into it) as they tried to get their bearings.
“What’s going on?!” Tails cried.
“It’s the robots! They’re invading!” Sticks shrieked.
A loud, booming laugh echoed throughout the forest. It sounded a lot like Eggman, but also…different. Eggman’s usual laugh straddled a careful line between menace and delight, and gave the impression that he most certainly had not practiced it for hours in the mirror during his early days of villainy.
This laugh, on the other hand, sounded downright deadly.
Seconds later, a giant mech burst through the trees, glowing a bright, terrifying red. Sonic paled considerably. “Oh, no…” he whispered.
Shadow froze. “Another corrupted crystal? How many of these are there?”
Tails held up his Miles Electric, blanching at the readings it showed. “This says it’s not a crystal…it’s a piece of his own tech that he’s downloaded Ancient code on!”
“Is that worse or better?” Knuckles asked.
“Worse.” Shadow and Tails said simultaneously.
And that was when the mech’s fist came crashing down.
The entire team scattered. Sonic scrambled for his own machine, while everyone else began to throw everything they had at Eggman. The doctor growled, a red glow emanating from behind his glasses.
Furious, he swatted Knuckles and Tails aside, the echidna just barely managing to shield his friend with his own body before they hit the ground. Sticks and Shadow at least managed to land a couple of hits with boomerangs and Chaos Spears before suffering the same fate.
Screaming, Amy charged the mech, leaping from branch to branch until she gained enough height to whack its cockpit, sending Eggman stumbling backwards. Fortunately for her (as she fell back to solid ground), it was practically a rule in this universe that nobody ever takes fall damage.
By now, Sonic had gotten his machine up and running, immediately firing twin lasers at his opponent. They fought back and forth for a few tense moments, nearly blasting Sonic’s friends once or twice, even after they’d scrambled for cover.
“Come on, Eggman!” Sonic cried. “You’re smarter than this thing, you can fight it!”
Sadly, Eggman did not, as a matter of fact, fight it. Instead, he quite predictably continued fighting Sonic, using enough weaponry to destroy the village at least twice over in his single-minded pursuit of his greatest nemesis.
Thankfully, the hero’s machine soon began to predict the doctor’s moves well enough that it could provide Sonic with actual advice on how to fight him in this state. With that, he managed to get in a calculated blast that sent the doctor toppling, completely off balance.
Knuckles and Sticks had gotten into position by this point with Amy’s direction, perfectly poised to tear the disk out and hurl it to the ground. The moment the metal hit the grass, Amy and Shadow proceeded to hit it with a combined amount of firepower that could have destroyed the entire island, let alone one small disk.
When they were done, even the pieces were shattered into pieces.
Meanwhile, Tails pulled a heavily disoriented Eggman out of his mech, saving him from any further injury (he’d gotten a little banged up in the fight) and carrying him to the ground. “Ugh…” he groaned, sitting up slowly. “What happened? I feel like I got run over by a Motobug…”
Shadow stormed over, folding his arms irritably. “You made a truly absurd mistake, that’s what. Your fake symbiote chip corrupted your morality until you became even more of a madman than usual. You’re lucky we managed to get you out of there, otherwise this whole island would have been in great danger.”
Eggman sighed, getting to his feet. “I guess I’ll just have to make some improvements to it so that this doesn’t happen again.”
“No you won’t!” Amy cried, brandishing her hammer. “We’ve had enough of disks that turn our friends evil for one lifetime! Or Fuzzy Puppy Buddies, in your case.”
The doctor scoffed. “I’d like to think that I was evil without the help of some disk, thank you very much!”
Sonic cringed. “Yeah, but didn’t you hear? You were, like, really evil this time. Like full-on terrifying supervillain stuff.”
“…how terrifying, exactly?” Eggman asked cautiously.
Sticks shrugged. “Eh, you probably would’ve blasted us all to bits without a shred of remorse if we hadn’t stopped you.”
Everyone stared at her. “What?!” she cried. “I’m just telling it like it is!”
The doctor thought for a moment, frowning. “Well, maybe I’ll get to work on some of my other evil schemes instead. Clear out the old files, see if anything’s in there that I can update.”
The entire team relaxed marginally at that. “Sounds like a good idea to me.” Sonic said, clearly relieved.
“But what about your mech, Sonic?” Eggman asked. “It won’t be a fair fight if I give up my machine and you don’t!” The doctor nearly whined that last part, attempting to give Sonic puppy-dog eyes despite the fact that his glasses were very much in the way.
“Fiiiine, I promise not to use it in our fights.” the hero muttered.
“Pinky promise?” Eggman said suspiciously.
“Pinky promise.” Sonic sighed, linking his little finger with Eggman’s. (The doctor had to reach down quite a lot to make it work.)
“Now then! Robots!” he cried, making all of the others jump into defensive positions. Then, however, he smirked, and simply said “Clean up this mess! I’m certainly not dragging it all home.”
Much rolling of eyes and facepalming ensued.
While Eggman’s various robots skittered around the fallen machine and began to carry it back to his evil lair, Sonic leapt back into his own mech. “So what do you wanna do now, guys?” he asked excitedly.
When he turned around to face them, though, he saw that they were all beat up from the battle with Eggman, and hesitated. “Anyone want a ride home?” he said, a little more gently.
“Oh, yes please.” Amy sighed, leaping onto one of the mech’s shoulders. Tails perched on the other, while Knuckles sat down on one of its hands. Even Sticks overcame their aversion to technology long enough to hitch a ride.
“Shadow? Don’t you wanna hop on too?” Sonic asked.
“I’ll be fine.” Shadow muttered. “I heal quickly.”
But nobody could miss the way he held his arm close to his body, or the way he winced with every step. “Knux, can you help me out here?” Sonic sighed.
The echidna promptly picked Shadow up, making him yelp and writhe in surprise. Before he could muster up the ability to teleport, he was placed at the very top of the mech and then immediately held in place by Tails and Amy.
“I don’t need help.” he said weakly, feeling his touch-starved body jolt at the sudden contact.
Nobody seemed to notice except for Amy, who leaned against him and glanced up to make sure he was alright with that. Shadow rolled his eyes, but allowed her to remain for the whole ride back. By the end, he was alternating rapidly between tension and relaxation, striving not to let his contentment be shown and failing miserably at it.
Thankfully, he was also mostly healed by then, and so was able to leap off the mech with no problems. The others weren’t so fortunate, and only climbed off with a bit of help and lots of complaining about stiff muscles.
“Maybe we should put this thing away for a while.” Tails said. “It’s caused us a bunch of problems and hasn’t helped all that much.”
Sonic sighed. “Yeah, probably. I guess I can’t go as fast in it as I can by myself either.”
“I’m sure we can still bring it out if we ever have a serious problem.” Tails added reassuringly.
“How are we gonna move this thing into storage, though?” the hero asked.
Tails stared at him for a moment. “Sonic. You can literally just walk it into storage and then get out.”
“Oh. Right.” Sonic said sheepishly.
[Iris out ending in which he smiles awkwardly at the camera, before the entire screen goes black.]

My Boys (Chapter 52)
Series List
Warning: Abuse, panic attacks
A couple of months later
Y/n's pov
"Let's go Robin! We're gonna be late!" I yell through my house, throwing the last of my stuff into my bag. As normal, we were running a little bit behind on getting to school. Luckily, I wasn't the one that is gonna be driving us there. "I'm coming!" Robin yells down at me. I laugh and run to the front door to get my shoes on. "You better hurry up, Steve will be here any second," I yell back up to her and lean against the wall next to the door. Robin stomps down the stairs and runs right out the door. "Hey! Wait for me!" I yell after her, laughing and closing the door behind me. As I turn around I watch as Robin jumps into the backseat of Steve's car and Steve starts to beep his horn at me. I playfully roll my eyes and run to the passenger side door to jump in. "Hey there beautiful," Steve whispers and leans over to give me a kiss on the cheek. "Hey baby," I whisper as he pulls away. Steve smiles at me and pulls out of my driveway, both of us ignoring Robin's fake vomiting sounds.
"You got any 'dates' planned for this week Steve?" Robin asks as we drive off, air quoting around the word date and rolling her eyes. Over the past few months, Steve and I have decided that we want to start to date but I still don't want to be telling people. But because Steve is known for dating people all the time, we realised that he needs to continue to do that so we aren't found out. We just set the rule that he tries to not kiss them, but it really doesn't bother me too much if they kiss him. "Well yeah. Y/n and I are going on a small one tomorrow and the night after that. But I'll be going on one with Heidi tonight for the basketball game, and she's going to college out of state so she probably won't want anything more so that's always good," Steve tells us, grabbing onto my hand and giving it a squeeze. While Steve was talking, Robin had pulled down my mirror in front of me and was still trying to get her makeup right. Steve looks back at Robin confused and asks, "Are you listening?"
"Ah, yes," Robin slightly snaps, looking at Steve for a second. "What did I just say?" Steve asks, not really caring but interested in how much she heard. "Something about sex with Y/n," She blurts out, smirking over at me. I blush while Steve says, "I never said Y/n and I were gonna have sex." He blushes a little as well and tries to concentrate on the road. "Cut me some slack, please," Robin snaps a little. I look confused back at her while Steve defends himself, "You asked!" "Your love life is one of labyrinthine complexity. I thought the answer would be Y/n and that would be it. It is 7 in the morning, we have the stupid pep rally, and I woke up looking like a corpse," Robin explains to Steve, pushing her hair around to fix it and pulling her face back a bit. "You're worried about a pep rally? Expect us to believe that?" I ask her, knowing exactly what she's really worried about now. "Yeah? So?" Robin tries to play off. "So, we all know what this is really about," I playfully snap at her, giving her a big smile. "Yeah, I'm not buying that either. This is about Vickie," Steve joins in. "Absolutely not," Robin tells us. "It is. You know what else?" Steve continues. "I don't care..." Robin tries to tell him, dabbing lip balm on her lips while Steve interrupts and tells her, "You gotta stop pretending to be someone else when you're around her. You just gotta be yourself. Like you are with Jessy." I nod with Steve and turn to face Robin. "You're literally quoting me to me. You do realize that?" Robin tells him. I look confused at her and turn to Steve but he just blushes and shakes his head. "Maybe you need to listen to yourself? Ever think about that?" I ask her. "I listened. Look at me. Boom. Back in business," Steve adds, pointing to me.
I smile at him while Robin complains, "It's not the same thing. Okay?" "Well..." Steve tries to say but Robin and I shake our heads and Robin explains panicked, "You ask out a girl and she says no. Big deal. Nothing happens. Maybe your ego's a little bruised. I ask out the wrong girl, and bam, I'm a town pariah." "I'd buy that, except Vickie is definitely not the wrong girl," Steve tries again. "We just don't know that, do we?" I add on for Robin, thinking the same way Robin does. "She returned Fast Times, paused at 53 minutes, 5 seconds. Know who pauses Fast Times at 53 minutes, 5 seconds?" Steve asks us both, pausing to wait for an answer. "People who like boobies!" I exclaim, remembering that scene very well. "Ew! Gross. Don't say boobies," Robin yells at me, pushing against my arm. "Boobies," I say, teasing her a little. "It's not a big deal, okay? I like boobies. You like boobies. Y/n likes boobies. Vickie likes boobies. Definitely," Steve yells at Robin. Robin looks forward and just shakes her head with the movement of the car. "It's boobies," Steve continues to tell Robin. Robin shakes her head more and looks out the window.
"How was the date with Jessy?" I turn to Robin and ask. She blushes but doesn't look towards me. "Let's just say that she definitely like boobs," She whispers, causing me to laugh at her. "Robin got some!" Steve yells, fist-bumping the air. Robin turns back to us and hits Steve. "Shut up!" She yells, laughing at his behaviour. "We're here ladies," Steve announces as we enter the school gates. He continues down the road as everyone else moves around the school. Steve parks as close as he can to the door and I turn to him and whisper, "See you later cutie. Have fun on that 'date,' later." He smiles at me and shakes his head. Robin and I jump out of our doors, throwing our stuff over our shoulders. "Hey, wait up!" Robin randomly calls out. I look to where she's looking and find Vickie standing at the door waiting for Rob. I smile and wave before turning back to Robin. "I'll see you after the prep rally?" Robin gets out of the car with all her stuff and nods. "Sounds good," Robin whispers, giving me a quick hug and running off to Vickie.
I laugh at her and walk to the other side of the car to lean against the driver's car door. "You ok out there?" Steve asks me. I look down and nod. "Yeah, just making sure the kids are here and safe," I say, looking back around the school. "You're as bad as me, you know that?" Steve asks, also looking around for me. I laugh and nod. "I'm also trying to avoid everyone but that doesn't matter," I whisper, not looking down at Steve. I scan the area and notice Dustin getting out of the car. He looks up at me and smiles but I turn away and look down at Steve. "Why are you keeping them away again?" Steve asks me. He's been really weird about the boys with Eddie ever since he punch Jason in Family Video. I haven't really minded him asking me but it was a little annoying that I had to repeat myself over and over. "This school is full of people that could hurt them. I'm more of a target than Eddie right now, so it's better this way," I explain to him. Steve nods, looking over at Eddie's van. "Hey Y/n?" He questions. I nod to show him I'm listening and wait for Steve to continue. He hesitates but then asks, "I need to tell you something, but is it ok if I do it on our date night?" I smile down at him and nod, putting my hand on his over the window. "Of course. Now, I should probably get in there. See you later," I say, starting to walk away from safety.
Prep Rally
As always, the prep rally was full of cheering and cheerleading. I really hated these things but getting to hear Robin play in band is always the best thing. I watch her play, her looking over at Vickie and Vickie turning to her. They look away from each other and I notice Robin looking at me from the corner of her eye. I sigh and look back at the cheerleaders continuing their stupid little dance. The band finishes their song while the cheerleaders finish their dance, causing everyone to stand up and cheer and clap for them. God, I hate these things so much. Why is the whole school required to come to these things?
The cheerleaders run to the front of the seating area while someone shouts into the mic, "And let's hear it for your Tigers!" In the corner of the gym the basketball team run through a banner, Jason up the front. Everyone cheered for them while Jason gave his 'charming' smile to the audience. I watch the rest of the team run in and notice Lucas running in with the team as well. Steve wasn't kidding when he said Lucas was thinking of joining the basketball team. I'm guessing all of their hard work paid off. "Good morning, Hawkins High!" Jason yelled into the microphone causing everyone else to cheer in reply. "First off... Hey," Jason jokes, causing me to roll my eyes. Can I just leave already?
I look around me, ignoring Jason, and notice that I'm sitting near an exit. I slowly slip out of my seat, staying close to the ground, and slowly walk over to the exit door. I look back at everyone to make sure no one notices me leaving and quietly open the door and slip out of the gym. I take a deep breath and walk around the corner, thinking I got out without anyone seeing me. "L/n," I hear our guidance counsellor say behind me. I let out a breath and turn around to say, "Ms Kelly, hey, how are you?" She shakes her head at me and states, "You haven't been coming to any of your sessions lately." I fold my arms over my chest and nod. "Yeah, I decided I'd had enough of talking about my problems. Need to be a big adult person now," I tell her, slowly moving backwards and away from her. "Y/n," She warns as I move around the corner. She follows behind me and grabs onto my arm. "I need you to come to a session tonight," She demands, not harshly but in a way that I couldn't argue with her. But I am going to try anyway. "Look, I'm really busy today, don't want to bother you with my stupid problems," I try to tell her but she shakes her head.
"How are the nightmares?" She questions, crossing her arms over her chest. I look away from her and do the same thing. "Haven't stopped for years, don't think they'll be stopping anytime soon," I tell her. "And the headaches you were having at the start of the month? Any more nosebleeds?" She continues. "Have a headache almost every day but medication isn't really fixing it anymore. Nosebleeds like once a week. An improvement from when they first started. See, don't need to see you anymore," I explain and turn back around to continue walking. "Are you stilling thinking about girls?" She blurts, causing me to freeze. I close my eyes and turn back to her, trying to keep my anger at bay but it wasn't really working. "Who I think about is none of your business," I snap, walking away from her. "Just come see me Y/n. Even for a few minutes. You should still be talking about what happened with your dad," She tells me. I shake my head, feeling my breathing speed up and yell back, "I'll see you in my free," before running into the woods out the back.
I try to focus on my feet touching the ground as I run, feeling the trees and bushes brush my arms and legs as I run past but it wasn't helping me focus. It wasn't helping me calm down. I lean against a tree a few feet away from the picnic table that I knew was around here and try to get my breathing back under control, but I really couldn't do it. Not without someone's help. I close my eyes and flashbacks from that night run through my head. The image of my father looming over me, his fits hitting my body over and over again. I try to shake the images out of my head but all it does is change to the beating from the Russians. "Y/n?" I hear someone ask me. I jump back a little, my breathing getting heavier while putting my hand up so I'm ready to fight. "Hey there, I'm not here to fight you," Eddie says, putting his hands up to show he's no threat. I lower my fists and lean against the tree again, my breathing still not going back to normal. "Hey, you ok?" Eddie asks, moving slowly over to me.
I slide down the tree and shake my head, putting my head in my hands. Eddie moves over to me and goes to touch me but pulls back at the last second. "What do you need me to do?" Eddie quietly asks, sitting down next to me. Without a second thought, I jump into his lap and wrap my arms around his neck, burying my face in his curls. He makes an oof sound and slowly wraps his arms around me. I try to hold my breath to get it under control but it only seems to make it worse. Tears start to fill my eyes as I get more frustrated as time passes. "Try and follow my breathing N/n. Don't hold your breath. Take a deep breath in... that's it. Now slowly let it out... good girl." Eddie whispers to me, slowly rubbing my back. We continue to stay like that, slowly breathing in and out together, Eddie whispering little encouragements into my ear.
When I finally have my breathing under control and I've stopped crying I pull away from Eddie's hair and wipe my eyes. "I'm so sorry about that," I whisper, still not being able to handle loud noises yet. Eddie nods and brushes a hand through your hair. "Do you need to talk about it?" He asks me. I look confused at him and ask, "When did you want to talk to me? You hated me last time we spoke," I remind him. He shrugs and says, "You aren't ok. I'd be a real dick if I was mean to you right now." I nod and slowly get off of him. "Thanks but talking about it sent me into the spiral. Would really prefer to stay away from it right now," I explain to him. Eddie nods and stands up before pulling a curl in front of his mouth. I smile at him and walk over, grabbing onto the curl. "I thought you would have grown out of this by now?" I ask, pushing the curl behind his ear. He smirks down at me and leans forward a little. "I didn't think you cared," He whispers, his eyes flicking down to my lips. I smile up at him and lean a little closer, not knowing what I am doing but before I could do anything I hear the school bell. I pull away from him and look at my watch. "Shit, we're gonna be late. Thanks Munson for the help," I tell him and walk away so I could try to get to class on time. What the hell was I thinking?

(IDK IF THE ASK WENT THROUGH)
HI BELLALALALA! Okay. SO HEAR ME OUT. I know I KNOW THE READER IS JUST ABOUT TO MOVE IN bUt it just hit me cause I have nothing else to do on the flight home and idk I like sharing ideas with you heheh. Also cause you’re my comfort person heheh
What would happen if the reader was like listening to “hot girl music” like really feelin’ herself and gettin’ into it… and she’s like listening through her noise canceling headphones or earbuds, and she’s dancing around as she’s cooking dinner…
then Matt yk alr hears it through the elevator and stuff and then he can like “feel” the way she sways and stuff, her pheromones and serotonin through the roof bcs yk movement. (How 2 make this sexy idk)
Anyways, Matt walks in, reader is unaware, and he jUst goes FERAL, like suddenly he just traps u and then hot make out session turns into smut on the kitchen floor… OK BYE. HELP.
Ohhhh!! This was a fun surprise to "wake up" to! I say that in quotes because I'd have had to have gotten sleep to actually wake up, but that's besides the point. I always love seeing these notifications and hearing you share your ideas/thoughts!
But I'm your comfort person?
[Internally happy squealing ❤️]
Okay, back to your message! So I don't know if you read FFTD on AO3 or just tumblr (I'm going to guess tumblr), but I keep meaning to share my lengthy end notes and I never do because I'm always in a rush to get both sites updated simultaneously that I literally never think about it in the moment. But unfortunately that means y'all miss some info here.
So yes, Reader and Matt are moving in together very soon!! The next installment is "The Romantic Voicemails" which was one of the many wonderful suggested titles from awhile back and it'll be Reader getting some sweet voicemails from Matty leading up to the day she moves in, and the following installment will be "The Moving Day" or something along those lines. Which means one more installment before they live together!! And I've actually told a couple of you that I've had this idea of something like a smut montage installment idea (that has no title yet) where Matt and Reader over the first few days/week of living together get distracted from domestic tasks and things by sex. Because we all know they can't keep their hands to themselves. So like one of them is trying to do dishes--but nope, sex. Laundry--interrupted by more sex. Cooking--SEX.
Which brings me to the end of my ramble to answer what you were saying with another ramble 😆 I could totally see Reader listening to music even just on a phone or something and cooking dinner because Matt said he'd be back from the office late that night and she wanted to surprise him with food. But Matt gets done early with work and decides to surprise her and not let her know, so as he's coming into his building and getting on the elevator he can hear the music and her elevated heart rate from her dancing. And at first he probably just thinks it's adorable and sweet that she's making dinner and dancing. He's just so glad to have her to come home to now--but then he starts focusing on her elevated heart and the slight change to her breathing. And when he reaches his floor, he's so in tune with her he can already pick up on the increase of her pheromones just because of the faint sweat from her cooking over a hot stove while dancing. When he opens the door to the apartment, he's not listening to the music. He hears the way the air is shifting around Reader's hips as they're moving back and forth and the way her lip is caught in her teeth. Suddenly Matt just needs her. Comes up behind her and wraps his arms around her. Reader startles for a moment because she wasn't expecting him, but then he's whispering things in her ear and rubbing up on her, one hand reaching out to turn the stove off as he tells her not to stop. Maybe slams her into a counter or picks her up and drops her onto it as he's kissing her erratically everywhere...
Boom--cooking interrupted by sex. Again. 🤣
That's a really great idea and you will find it in the upcoming nameless smut montage that's coming because now I want to write this with more detail (with what happens next) AND this smut scene would be in his POV! But it won't be super detailed smut like usual because it'd probably be a 20k word installment if we had like 4 or 5 smut scenes and I don't think I'd survive that 🤣 I'd need like a month to recover afterwards.
But thank you for this thought/idea!!! ❤️ I'm already itching to write that scene, I won't lie 🤣 I'm sorry my answer got WILDLY out of hand and became the length of an installment itself, I just got so excited 😆😅

Begin Again Chapter 8 (sequel to IMW)
The following weeks were normal and not. Whenever they approached Marinette, questioning her about her powers, she would just poof! Even when Damian tried to hold her down, she somehow slipped out of his iron-cast grip that could break bones and skipped off!
When this happened the 11th time, she threatened them that next time they pull ‘such a stunt’, she'd make them disappear. “Your face off earth too, not just America," she added as an afterthought.
Well, as people who respected their safety, they unanimously agreed to give her the space she clearly needed.
No, Dick It was your idea. And quite a stupid one too. We should have given her space. Jason had said this after being subjected to his sister’s very colorful threat.
But in general, she was glued to her laptop. Clacking away with coffee mugs and eyebags to rival and win over Tim’s. Complaining about how “investors were one of the stupidest breeds of people to exist after villains and criminals." Except for two investors who had “some amount of sense,” to quote her. Whenever they tried to sneak glances, she changed her screen quite openly too.
One day, Tim strolled next to her as she was sitting on the dining table, working on her computer. He leaned on the table and, without sneaking a peek at her screen, plainly asked her what she was working on.
Apparently, Dick placed too much faith in the fact that, as her oldest brother, he would be the first to know about his sister’s mysterious activities. He was again wrong.
Marinette simply tilted her head. "I'm trying to start a business."
Tim nodded his head. "I saw the signs. If you need some help, let me know."
Marinette nodded in acknowledgement, and they both went back to their work as if nothing had happened.
When Jason tried to use the same tactics and ask her about it, he was met with such a deadpan stare that he backtracked out of it as fast as he could. A reunion month was meant for every Wayne. legal or not. Direct or via a relationship. Civilly. At Alfred's request. To say that all of them were concerned with Marinette’s obsession with apparently starting a new business would be an understatement.
But they watched the silence as days passed by, and there was no change. Something that the detective family noticed was that things seemed to move in favor of her. For example, in one of her attempts to reduce her caffeine intake, Dick placed the cup just outside her reach so she would finally get up after sitting for five hours, but to everyone’s astonishment, when she was reaching for the coffee cup, it automatically moved toward her, and she said, "Thank you," meaning that she was not the one who had attracted that wretched cup of coffee towards her. and here we find ourselves on the 15th night of her sitting in front of that glaring LED screen.
Everyone was sitting around in the living room, minding their own business. They were concerned about the Marinette habits but still minding their own business.
But then suddenly, a voice boomed up from the ceiling. It sounded a bit shrill, but they could understand it. "Marinette, this has gone along far enough. You need to stop spending all the time sitting in front of that screen. Come on, it's been forever since we went out for a run."
Another voice chimed out. "You better listen to her pigtails; she's been getting angsty."
Marinette gave a sigh and looked up at the ceiling. "You guys know I have work to do!"
As though in response to her statement, a page fell down seemingly nowhere from the ceiling across her keypad. Although it was hard to tell from a distance, it looked as if it was a party scene, and there was something written on it as well.
Marinette glanced over that page. "fine." She got up.
"But this doesn't mean you won!" she shouted over her shoulder. "I am still going to get work done starting tomorrow morning. I got this stupid interview from the PA to get over with as well."
"Which one?" the mysterious ceiling-inhabited voice questioned. "Not for my actual life, you."
"Ohh," the voice dragged out. "But what happened with Gamora, dear Marinette?"
The person in question sighed. "Don't push your luck, you big cheesy blob."
"Ouch pigtails that hurt."
"Yeah, destroying the dinosaurs was not an accident."
"It wasn't-t uh- sugar cube. I swear to the universe, I don't have anything against them. It was- uh, never mind."
Marinette giggled and walked towards the door, but Bruce, naive and emotionally constipated, God knows how he ever became Batman. He can never really let go, can he? Does the questioning detective in him ever rest?
"Where are you going, Isa?"
Marinette looked over at him with a calculating look. "Just going out to party a bit; maybe even find a cute date," she smiled and went poof.
The voice from above spoke up. "She really is out of the manor, you know. And we have a piece of advice for you: in order to find what you look for, look at those talking gizmos you have invented. and listen closely."
Afterward, they tried to question the voices again, but it seemed as though they were gone or had said all they wanted to say. Finally giving up, they turned to each other.
"what's next?" Barbara asked. "It's not like we can follow her, and I really do think she deserves some privacy."
"privacy?! You're worried about privacy!! She's going to find a date! You know what goes on in the minds of kids this age?!" Jason screamed.
"I take offense to that." Tim turned toward Jason. "And so do I." Damien added. "Just because you were a hormone-driven teenager doesn't mean everyone is!!"
"No, no, and no," Dick said, looking at his brothers. "That is not the point. Stop getting off course!"
"betrayer." Jason said, glaring at Dick. "traitor. I thought you would back me up on this."
"Come on, Jason, be realistic. She isn't going to end up with someone she has just met today. is she?" Roy asked, looking at others.
"No," Dick said. "And there is no point in torturing ourselves by thinking about the what-ifs. What is going to happen is going to happen, and we can deal with it when it happens."
"agreed." Fei said. "I'm more interested in what that ceiling voice told us. I'm not much experienced in ghost matters per se, but I think those were spirits. spirits that Marinette knows about, and I think it can give us what we are looking for."
"And what exactly are we looking for?" Jason asked, his eyebrows raised.
"We're looking for why she is so mad at you." Fei replied. "Look, I stole her belongings. I forced her to buy them back at ridiculously high prices, and with an apology, she forgave me. Why would she be so mad about Bruce shipping her off? She knows that while his actions were wrong, he did this because he wanted to protect her."
"I think he deserves what he is getting for shipping her off." Jason said, crossing his arms.
"And I agree." Fei countered back. "But this is Marinette; we're talking about looks as much as you don't like them. I've had more interaction with her when she came to Shanghai than she has with any of you since she came back to the manor. Don't you think there is a tiny chance the spirits could be right? I think so. and they gave us a clue too. talking gizmos. You know what that reminds me of? Phones. cell phones."
Turning towards Bruce, she asked him, "How come you never talked after you shipped her off? You don't just suddenly break all contact with your own kid."
"Welcome to our world." Jason grumbled. "That's exactly what we do here."
Bruce looked down. "I shut off the phone, which she could have called me on I-I," he sighed. "I couldn't bear the sound of her voice asking me to bring her back, so I decided to cut off all contact so as not to give into the temptation."
"But you still have that phone, don't you?" Fei cut in before the others could tell Bruce exactly how cuckoo bird that was. "We can still listen to the voicemails she might have left."
