When I contemplate your heavens, the works of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have set there, I ask myself, "What is man that you think of him? What is the son of man that you take him into account?" Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor. You gave him dominion over the work of your hands; you put everything under his feet. Psalms 8: 4-5
Salmos 8: 4-5

We aren't an accident without destiny
Constantly we experience battles in our flesh that are a reflection of what is going on around us. Many times we aren't aware of the spiritual world around us because we can't see it, and that leads us to lose a battle that we don't know we are fighting.
One of them is to test our knowledge of God and thereby cause us to doubt our purpose and what He says about our value and identity.
We all have an emptiness that only God can fill. Human beings were created in His image, so it's normal to live on the edge of need and feel empty when we are far from our Creator. The original plan was for man to be in communion with God, otherwise, "feeling empty" would be one of the many consequences of being far from His presence.
Who knows the work of art better than the artist himself? No one knows the works better than the one who created them. God knows our needs because God is our Creator. That "vacancy" that inhibits us from living a full life will always be God because God is the only and greatest need of man.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I sanctified you, I gave you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1: 5.

Hiya!
So we all know that AI generators like Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL.E, Sora.AI, etc. have stolen the work from artists online to train their AI and since AI is starting to get quite scary, I've decided I'm going to start protecting my work via Nightshade, but I want to also talk about it with you and link to the official sites to Glaze and Nightshade, so you can get either of these programs to try.
First off, we'll start with Glaze AI.
What Glaze aims to do is to act on the defensive against AI. Glaze will scramble their generators by placing a “protective glaze” over your work, and what this will do, is when your work is fed into the AI, it'll trick the AI into thinking your work is something entirely different from what it is, simply by making small changes that only the AI will pick up on
To quote the official site “Glaze is a system designed to protect human artists by disrupting style mimicry. At a high level, Glaze works by understanding the AI models that are training on human art, and using machine learning algorithms, computing a set of minimal changes to artworks, such that it appears unchanged to human eyes, but appears to AI models like a dramatically different art style.”
I've tried using Glaze, but it's a very big program and my computer can't handle that, but I do highly recommend trying it out if you have the space for it.
If you wanna try it out, the link to the site can be found here.
Second is Nightshade.
Nightshade is aimed to “attack” the AI your work is being fed into. Like Glaze, Nightshade puts a protective “glaze” over your work, but it poisons your work and tricks the AI into messing up the user's prompt.
To quote the official site “Nightshade works similarly as Glaze, but instead of a defense against style mimicry, it is designed as an offense tool to distort feature representations inside generative AI image models. Like Glaze, Nightshade is computed as a multi-objective optimization that minimizes visible changes to the original image. While human eyes see a shaded image that is largely unchanged from the original, the AI model sees a dramatically different composition in the image.”
This program is also pretty big, but it's what my laptop is able to handle, so from here on out I'll be protecting my work with this. I'll also go back and protect my older works even if it's not as appealing as my newer works.
If you wanna try it out, the link to the site can be found here.
Keep in mind, these are only temporary solutions while we wait for more permanent ones.
But even if it's temporary, it's better than having no protection against the AI bros.

Very sorry if you've talked about this before, but how much do you focus on/care about making the plantlife in your Dinosaur Project Thingy accurate for the time and place?
Asking both because I'm generally very curious, and because personally, every time I make it past my anxieties about not knowing enough about dinosaurs to be "allowed" to draw them, I run right up against "oh shoot, if I draw a grass in the background, people are going to kill me."
Having a cartoonier art style helps! If your style is photorealistic, the style is going to require more details that also make errors way more present and visible, but like, the way I draw trees for example you can't really tell if I'm drawing an aspen, an oak or a basswood, you know? It's just a leaf blob with a trunk in the middle. There's no identifying that.
Also, like 99% of my audience who follows my art follows it for creatures and characters, not plant life, and those more well versed on plants aren't as likely to care. At least nobody has come to bark at me because of it this far!
Considering the amount of actual, professional palaeoartists who basically use memes in their art, I think it's okay and fine for hobbyists and cartoonists to not know everything, right?
(Seriously, the amount of artists who draw theropods with no soft tissue around the jawline is wild! You know that classic look where the entire face splits along the skull all the way to the back of the jaw joint, and drawing that pink skin flap at the corner of the mouth? That's the jaw muscles. Why would a giant land apex predator not have skin protecting its jaw muscles? [Also, is that really what jaw muscles look like? A skin flap? Come on.] I've seen some Actual Professional Artists draw these giant cavities inside the cheek area of things like T. rex, that's where the muscles should be! Where do you think the legendary bite force -which this specific animal is known for- comes from? I mean, it works for animatronics, like in Jurassic Park, because it's hard to give soft tissue to robots that would hold up, but it's less of a thing for art, I think.)
I have a field guide book for Hell Creek formation that I'm gonna reference from when needed. Years ago I backed this kickstarter for a dinosaur video game, specifically so that I could get my hands on the book for this exact reason. It has plants section!
Few rules of thumb:
Trees Big. No, bigger!
No grass (if very late Cretaceous, then maybe grass? but research first!)
No flowers, unless Cretaceous. Might be worth googling "Cretaceous flowers" for specifics
When in doubt, ferns and/or conifers.
Also, finally, this is just me, but it can help to set yourself a "target audience" (with quotes). Personally, I'm making my project for myself and maybe a handful of people I know IRL. I only aim for the joy of these specific bunch of friends and family. Anyone beyond that is just bonus, and while I am very glad there are great many more people who do enjoy my work, it's less important than if my friends like it. And if there's one of the extra bonus people who thinks this one plant on the background of my art ruins their enjoyment of my work and me as a person, then that's a them-problem, not a me-problem, if my friend Satu still thinks the drawing is cool.
(Honestly, knowing these specific people, I wouldn't even have to be as accurate as I am, but unfortunately I did include "myself" in my target audience, so here I am.)

Welcome everyone, to the Fuck-You-Up Music Bracket - Round 2!!!!!
Ever had a song you can't get out of your head, a song that strips you down to your very being and leaves you with nothing? A song that you project onto your angstiest of blorbos? A song that hits you smack where you live? Or how about a song that you just really enjoy?
Then this is the place for you! We're reopening submissions for a second bracket, to crown a new champion as the ultimate fuck-you-up ballard of tumblr!
Submission Rules
Don't resubmit songs that were in the first bracket. They won't be allowed in. I've put the first bracket under the read more, so you can check before you submit. Unfortunately there is no spreadsheet version, but you can search my blog for the artists of previous rounds
You can resubmit songs that were submitted to the first bracket, but didn't make it in
Submissions for the previous bracket closed on 26th of May 2023. Any music released since then is fair game
Submissions will aim to stay open for a week, but if I get a crazy amount, they will close sooner
Because it took me so long to sort through them last time, I'm aiming to cap submissions at 600, with a bracket size of around approximately 512, but this may change
This probably goes without saying, but don't re-submit the same song multiple times. It makes my job harder, and chances are someone submitted the same song as you already
Songs from movies, musicals, TV shows, video games and other media are allowed!
As are scores and soundtracks and songs without lyrics!
Songs in languages other than English are allowed too!
Songs must be at least remotely fuck-you-up-ish. You must be able to justify its place in the tournament
You can rant about whatever blorbo you project your song onto in your descriptions, it helps me understand your reasoning better :)
Songs created by problematic bands/artists/media are allowed. However, I am not in control of how quickly it might get voted off
Propaganda is allowed and encouraged! No slander though
Submissions close on 14th of February 10:00AM (UK Time)
If there are any problems with the form or other questions, please send me an ask or message
Submissions are now closed
