Word of advice: if you haven't done so already, create a "digital death" plan. This way, in the event of your death, whoever is in charge of closing your digital accounts for you is actually able to do so, and with a lot less stress.
#it's me - i'm the one who's stressed#my uncle passed away yesterday#& my family didn't listen when i said not to touch his tech at all#they unplugged things & now all the lockscreens activated#i need to access the password managers#and/or his email app so i can reset passwords if needed#hopefully he's got them physically written down somewhere#but i'll have to go back to digging through his room to look for it#maybe the nibling knows the lockscreen pattern#i'll ask him in a few days if i haven't got into them by then#no sense worrying him about it right now#the funeral & burial is later this afternoon#death cw

Okay okay hear me out.
We all know that Donnie was devastated to discover what happened to his brothers. But in light of the most recent update, new meaning has been added to the panels of him watching their deaths' play out.
Look at him here. At first glance, it simply seemed that Donnie was grieving the loss of his brothers. "We lost. They're all gone. My dumb dumb brothers sacrificed themselves. I'm alone."
BUT after today's update, we realize that NOOO he's not just regretting that they're gone, he's BLAMING HIMSELF. Not only is he sad, he feels GUILT.
Looking back, his face clearly says, "I could have stopped it. I could have saved them. I failed. This is my fault."
"If I had been with you, the outcome might have been better." What hurts is that Don is RIGHT. He WAS the keystone of the resistance. Everything does indeed fall apart soon after he's gone (hence the episode name). It's a cruel, ironic twist on Survivor's Guilt-- because in that timeline he didn't survive. He was gone. And he blames himself for being gone.
We often talk about Future Leo's guilt over the apocalypse, but Future Donnie's guilt is not to be taken lightly. It actually makes a LOT of sense for him to blame himself for his family's deaths. We know that all dear Donton has ever wanted is validation for his tech, and his tech is his way of expressing to his family that he loves them. Ergo, all Donnie wants is to make tech to protect his family to Show Them That He Loves Them.
This is probably why he opened up to Raph, all but admitting his guilt over the less-than-perfect security system: it was like saying he and his love failed to protect them for long.
The character analysis deepens~
Here (and throughout all of The Little Things, really) we see him taking steps to make sure his brothers (and the resistance) will be taken care of. Delegating everything, even The Little Things (ah HA) all to ensure that all he does for them (to prove his love, of course) continues to happen.
Even here, when Donnie has been hanging onto life for so long that the Kraang are shocked he's still alive, Donnie wants to help. He could not "sit here and listen to them get killed," because he is Donatello, and he loves his family. Cass, you said it yourself: Violence is his love language. Rushing into battle, decimating the Kraang, saving his family. Because he may be dying, he may be clinging to life by a few threads, but he is Hamato Donatello and he loves his family.
But in the end, that's what he does. In the end, he DOES sit there and watch them get killed. Watches with his very own tech. One. By. One. They. Die. And deep down, Donnie thinks that if he would have been there, he could have found a way to make a generator NOT from Raph's heart. That he could have supported Mikey enough to keep him from disintegrating. That he could have protected Leo in those final, self sacrificial moments.
Donatello blames himself for not being there for his brothers. He blames himself for his tech not being flawless enough. He blames himself for dying on them.
Which is why he won't rest until they're ALL back home.
He is Mr. "I Can Fix This", so of COURSE he's going to fix this.
And afterwards, when his family is SAFE and HOME and TOGETHER he's going to apologize for "letting them die" and he's FINALLY going to get some SENSE knocked into his OWN dumb dumb brain (probably by Dr. Delicate Touch). His brothers love him because he's DONNIE. I cannot WAIT for the moment when they make him realize that they didn't miss his tech, they missed HIM. He's gonna realize just how utterly loved he is and I'm so excited for you, Cass, to show us that moment.
(I apologize; this got out of hand quickly, but the analysis has been bouncing around my head all day and I NEEDED to share it)
OH THIS IS ONE GREAT ANALYSIS RIGHT HERE
#I kinda..want to make a tag for these...#like#hm#cas analysis#yes I'm so unbelievably good at naming

Regarding the CEO of Oceangate hating regulations because they "stop innovation", I wanna talk about my job for a second:
I am a technical writer. I write various documents for a company that deals exclusively in high-voltage. We make shit that is high-voltage. If you touch high-voltage shit that is not powered down you either briefly see your god, or you fucking die.
Last year, I got tasked to write a brief that basically boiled down to, "Stop fucking thinking you're always gonna remember to tell the new guy that number is wrong and just fucking email the tech writers because you fucking idiots nearly killed a guy forgetting to warn him that the insulation number is lower than it should be."
Not a great week for me.
My company is neck-in-neck with several similar companies in terms of clients/growth/all that shit.
We are doing VERY well. You know why? Because we loudly brag about our safety numbers to anyone who will listen. We use them as a selling point.
"Um, you just said someone nearly died."
Yup. Fucking hate that. But that was because safety regs WEREN'T being followed. Guess who got extra fucking bitching about safety regs? Me, the other tech writers, and the safety crew who found out the same way we did that shit was not being communicated.
And, I want to be clear, everyone in the C-Suite reacted appropriately to someone nearly dying with "WHAT THE FUCK NO WE ARE NOT OKAY WITH THAT." and the end result has been even MORE awareness of what my department does and how it keeps people safe.
I say all of that to say this: The company is innovating. While keeping safety at the forefront, the company is finding ways to cut costs that don't cost time in human pain, and they are finding ways to design what we make while keeping people even safer (You can't say safety is 100% certain when working in high voltage; it's literally not possible).
The fuckboy leading Oceangate didn't follow ANY safety guidelines for submersibles when he built his own. He wanted to waggle his dick around and impress people at his hubris. He wanted to prove that safety guidelines were for sheeple. And what he's done now, very likely, is killed several people and himself.
I have a lot of sympathy for the families of the people who are likely dead because they fell for a fucking charlatan. But that's how charlatans work: they talk a big enough game you can't NOT believe them, and then you reap what they sow.
He could have done is safely. He just thought he didn't HAVE to. He's dead alongside them but also their fucking murderer.

The call comes unexpectantly. The team was already in the air, after having debriefed Director Fowler and Inspector Hart. Hart gave them the green light to head into his office and they were wheels up four hours later. Jake tried calling Sam but she didn’t pick up. Clay answered the phone. “Clay?... Yes, sir.” He tapped the screen. “You’re on speaker.”
“There was an attack on Parliament about 45 minutes ago. Their Majesties are alright but... I’m sorry, they have taken Her Royal Highness.”
“Sam?” Jake’s brain was not computing. “They took Samantha?”
“Yes. The lights went out and several flash bangs were fired, causing a run and when the lights came up, she was gone.”
“What about Edward?”
“He is missing as well.”
“We told you this was his plan!” Jake exploded. “We told you he was the one who hired Fitzgerald. He wants to take over the monarchy! And you didn’t listen! Now look what happened! She is with him and whoever else he hired and … FUCK!” Jake grabbed his head.
“We touch down in an hour,” Clay told the Inspector. “Is there video, cameras, anything?”
“We’ll have it ready for you. The Royal Protection Service is deferring to you, Colonel, since this was their failure.”
“Copy that. See you soon.” Clay hung up and kneeled in front of Jensen. “Jake, we’ll find her.”
“She has to be so scared.” Jake’s eyes were red. “She’s strong but she’ll be scared.”
“I know, Jake but we’ll find her and bring her home, ok?” Jake nodded rubbing his eyes. “Can you do this? Everything will be ready for us on the ground. I need you to focus and get to work.”
“Yeah, alright. I could use Aisha help.”
“Of course, Jake”.
“Alight, Jensen and Aisha have the tech. Pooch, Cougar, I want you in the room, checking for anything that can tip us off on who Prince Edward is working with. It was coordinated and tactical. Fitzgerald was only on the US side. Someone else had to have been working this here. I’ll work with the Inspector and the RPS.”
The plane landed and headed inside of a hanger, where Inspector Hart was waiting for them. “Captain...”
“Don’t,” Jake said. “Where are the camera feeds?”
“Right here.” Hart pointed at the terminal. Jake jumped on the computer.
“Aisha, I need you to work through traffic cameras with this,” he pulled out a chip. “It's facial recognition software. Find a picture of Edward and run it. Let’s see where that slimeball went. I’ll study this footage and see if I can find who was helping inside of Parliament.”
Only the sound of clicking and low voices filled the hanger. Jake’s eyes scanned the video on one screen as code ran on another. After a few minutes the code screen stopped and pulled up whatever Jake was looking for. He smiled and then looked at the video. He was up to the part where Sam would walk into the chamber. He frowned when he saw her hand in the crook of some guy’s arm but then he noticed Edward.
“What are you doing, old man?” Jake rewound the tape and watched again. He saw Sam recoil away from him and then walk away but instead of focusing on her, no matter how beautiful she looked, he focused on Edward. The man pulled out his phone and typed a message. Jake couldn’t see the screen but then he noticed the reflection behind him.
“Son of a bitch! Clay! I’ve got it. Edward sent a message five minutes before Sam was presented. All it was one word: GO. But you can see the number. I traced it, and it goes back to a Major August Walker, Royal Protection Service.”
“What?” Inspector Hart was dumbfounded. “Major Walker is the head of the protection for Her Royal Highness. He was in her father’s security team for ten years and his Majesty had selected him for her team. This doesn’t make sense.”
Jake kept typing. “Well, Major Walker has some beef with the crown. Harold had ordered a team into Bosnia including Walker and half of the team was killed by friendly fire. Walker was discharged from the Army and for his service, given a position in the RPS.”
“Shit, Edward is for pulling all troops from around the world, essentially leaving our allies vulnerable.” Hart started to pace. His reasoning is ‘England before all.’ But there is no way to implement that with Anthony on the throne. The Prime Minister is a sensible man but if the crown is on its knees, then maybe he can be swayed.”
“That doesn’t explain why he took Sam,” Clay said. “The reasoning is sound, but they had the chance to take Anthony.”
Aisha mused, “Because if you control the heir, you control the crown. If they said they would kill Samantha unless Anthony stepped down...”
“That would leave Edward or his son Lewis to take over,” Clay finished. He looked at Jake. “We need to find her.”
Sam’s head was pounding. Trying to open her eyes, she also struggled to take a deep breath. Her eyes were covered but her ribs protested slightly. She gasped when she moved her head, the pain blinding behind her eyes.
“Easy their Princess.” A hand touched her, rough and callous. She jumped as her eyes continued to try and open. “Whoa, its ok.”
“Who- who are you?”
“Don’t answer her.” Dread filled Sam. She knew that voice and she feared it. Someone grasped her chin and pulled off the blindfold.” Open your eyes child.” Sam blinked and the world was still unfocused, however, she knew who had taken her.
“Uncle?”
“You were always sharp, even as a child.” Edward stepped back with a laugh.
“Why? Why did you...”
“Take you? Because, my dear, he who controls the heir, controls the world. Imagine my surprise when my brother announced to me that the little girl who belonged to his girlfriend was actually his daughter. The heir to the throne after his son.” Sam kept blinking as the world began to focus. “It was supposed to be me! I was supposed to take the throne! Not that wannabe king Anthony. I’ve lost my chance at it but my son, your cousin Lewis is primed to be my puppet on the throne.”
“It’s the line of succession. You knew being a younger son there was no guarantee that you would succeed.”
“Thank you for the history lesson.” Edward backhanded her and she cried out as the chair tipped and hit the ground. “Watch her,” she told the soldier and left the room.
The soldier nodded and then moved to help Sam back up. “Are you alright, Your Royal Highness?”
“Why do you care?” Sam could finally focus and saw who the soldier was. “Major Walker?”
“I’m sorry Princess. But it is what must be done. Do you need anything?”
“Some water, please. And maybe untie my arms. It's starting to hurt.”
“I’ll get you some.” He left the room and Sam took in where she was at. No windows, and a bathroom. From where she could turn her head, she saw a bed and a table. She took a few calming breaths. What would JJ do? She said to herself. She thought back.
She and Jake were in bed, Sam was lying across the foot on her belly, just the blanket covering her body. “Babe, if you are ever in a position where your captor is bigger than you, just remember these four points: noise, stomach, groin and foot.” “Why?” She kicked her legs in the air as she stared up to Jake sitting against the headboard. “Those are the soft spots. Maximum amount of pain which can usually incapacitate a man. Stomp on his foot, elbow him in the stomach, just under the ribs, kick him in the balls and smash his nose with the heel of your palm. It gives you time to get away.” “Can we practice?” She sat up, the blanket falling around her middle, but now her breasts were exposed. “No, we cannot because you’re distracting me.” He launched himself at her, tackling her as she giggled and pinning her as he kissed her hard. “I love you.” “I love you.” “We’ll practice tomorrow. Maybe Pooch or Cougar can help?”
Sam snapped back as Walker came back into the room with a bottle of water. He opened it and gave her a sip. “Better?”
She nodded. “Can you untie me?”
“No.” Walker looked away from her. She saw he had keys and a gun. She just needed to get loose and then she could escape. Where? Who knows, but she knew Jake was looking for her. He would once he realized she wasn’t calling him back on the phone.
Jake will find me. I know he will.
Jake and the rest of the team met up with the RPS at the Parliament building. “Did you find anything?” he asked Pooch and Cougar.
“No, but that’s the interesting part.”
“Why is that interesting?” Clay asked.
“Because there isn’t any evidence that they left. All of the outside surveillance was active. They never showed up and they never left,” Pooch explained
“That’s because of the underground tunnels.” A new voice joined in. Jake looked over and saw an older man. He looked familiar. And it dawned on Jake. This was Samantha’s father. Another man joined who looked like him but 30 years young. “The undergrounds were made so royals could come in and negotiate without setting off the press,” Harold explained. “Every royal raised here knows about them.”
“And you are?” Clay asked.
Harold dropped the formalities. “Harold Davenport. This is my son, Anthony.”
“Your highness, Majesty, sorry,” Jake said.
Harold studied him. “You must be Jake.” He offered his hand. “My Samantha has spoken very highly of you.”
“Thanks, I think. You’re pawning her off to a duke or earl or something right?”
Harold looked abashed. “That is a family decision but given the circumstances, best we wait until we get her back.”
“Right,” Jake huffed.
“Sirs, we have a video message.” They gathered around the screen. It was of a hooded man, Samantha unconscious, eyes covered and still in the beautiful blue gown.
“We have the Princess Samantha. For her release, we need televised confirmation of our troops being withdrawn from around the world and the abdication of His Majesty, Anthony of England. We will also require that the she sign away her rights as heir to the throne of England. You have 48 hours to comply with our demands, otherwise, the consequences will be dire.”
The video cut out. Jake was vibrating with anger. “Can I see that?” He pointed to the computer. The soldier at the controls moved and Jake began typing. The screen moved with measurements and code over the video. “The signal was bounced around a lot so getting a lock on the origin will be tough. However,” he typed some more. “This is man is Walker.” Jake scanned some more. “This is a room with nothing reflective in it except for Walker’s goggles. I can see the camera.”
“How in the bloody hell does he know it’s Walker?” Anthony whispered to his father.
“Based on the height in the room and how small Sam is sitting I have his height at 6’ 1”. His mass also suggests he’s about 100 kilos or 220 pounds. Both measurements fit Walker’s profile. And the fact that he is also missing.” Jake kept his eyes on the screen as he spoke. “I got it.” He enlarged the picture to show the man behind the camera.
“Fuck, that is my brother,” Harold said.
“Yep. We knew that already,” Clay said. “We tried to reach the RPS while we were in the air, but the attack already occurred.”
Harold rubbed his temple. “If he is leading this, then we have to head down to the tunnels.”
“No, we will find her,” Jake said. “You said she would be safe here. You said it was for the best. This was nothing more than leading a lamb to be slaughtered. I am getting my girl back and taking her home.”
“This is her home,” Anthony argued.
“This was her prison.” Jake stood toe to toe with Sam’s brother. “Do you even know your sister? How amazing she is? How resilient she is? She was left with her mother in the U.S., met a man who promised to love her and then screwed her over and left her broken. But she fixed herself in a beautiful, caring, loving person who ensnared me in her love. She is the love of my life and when I say I’m taking her home, it means I’m going to marry her and build her a home where she doesn’t have to worry about her asshole brother who doesn’t love her.”
Jake’s chest heaved as Clay grasped his shoulder. “Its ok Jake. C'mon, let’s get ready to rescue the princess.”
“I do care about my sister.” Anthony looked at Jake. “I...”
Jake cut him off. “If you love your sister, let me do my job.” He took off the brace from his arm.
“You need three more weeks with that,” Aisha said softly.
“And I need to save my girl.” Jake pulled a rifle.
Clay smiled. “You heard the man. Losers! Round up.”

what kind of dynamic do you think pidge and a male reader who's the same age would have as the two youngest members of the team? (preferably platonic if you do that!)
Okay so I'm not gonna lie I have no idea if you want this as a story or just headcannons, so imma do headcannons(mainly cause I'm tired but I'm excited to do my first request!!)
______________________________________
• First of all its obvious the rest of the crew is gonna try and baby you two, no doubt about. Especially Shiro, its always Shiro.
• You two would sneak out in the green lion to look for more stuff for pidge's inventions. That was before Lance found out and threatened to snitch on you guys to Shiro if you guys didn't let him join. So now every time you guys go out Lance, without fail, will show up everytime no matter how hard you guys try to sneak past Lance.
• Pidge definitely comes to you first for comfort if they're missing their family a little too much, being the same age as them they see you as their brother, even going as far as to call you their twin.
• Somehow even the green lion loves you, allowing you to pilot the mechanical beast without Pidge being anywhere near. To say it shocked everyone is an understatement.
• They can and will beat someone up(mainly Lance) if they pick on you, everyone has seemed to learn this, of course except for Lance. Sometimes Keith would let a playful insult slip, and Pidge would just go feral.
• During missions if you decide to join in, Pidge will not leave your side unless absolutely necessary.
• You know those tik toks where everything is just absolute chaos, something is on fire, everyone is screaming, but there always seems to be that one or two people that just have this shit eating grin like "Ah yes, chaos, what a lovely site." yeah that's you guys. Just absolute, chaos.
• Can and will bite you out of boredom. Pidge will have you helping them with an invention and ask you to hand them a screwdriver, but when you extend your hand with the screwdriver in hand, they just stare. A blank, emotionless stare before they just bite the shit out of your hand
"OW! What the fuck Pidge?!"
"I don't know, I got bored"
• They make you fun little gadgets, even when you said they didn't have to keep making them for you, Pidge won't listen. At least every other day you find a new gadget on your bed.
• You're the only one Pidge allows to touch his tech, they trust you not to break anything, most of the time anyway.

Don't know if you've touched on this topic before, but do you have any advice on dealing with discrimination within comp sci (specifically sexism)? I have bad anxiety and have constant thoughts telling me how I'll never be good enough or don't belong. My brother who is a senior dev has had a passion for computers since a small child while I just developed an interest within the past two years. My family takes his career seriously but then turn around and tell me how great of a secretary I'll be lol. Thanks for your time!
Hiya 💗
Just some background on me: I haven't had any sexist experiences in during my whole journey of learning software development during my apprenticeship and now working as a Junior Web Dev. I'm the only girl in the Dev team (6 of us in total), the only other woman is the Manager of the Dev team but she does databases + business oriented work so she doesn't code at all. I'm the youngest in the team also so they see me as "oh let's teach the kid of the group" kind of thing. So at work I don't feel any type of sexism, the lads are really open to teach me a lot stuff which I am thankful!
I don't know any other irl developers besides work so I'll move on to online. Online I know a lot more women developers; Tumblr, YouTube, Instagram and Twitter (or X whatever it's called). Maybe it's because I've like cultured the content I see to them idk. I'm really glad to have that constantly on my timeline as it inspires me to push and do/become better because if those girlies can do it, so can I.
Though all the teachers/instructors I had were all men, they didn't make me feel small or not worthy to be in Computer Science, they were the opposite and pushed me to do it more. My Dad did Computer Science with CyberSecurity at university and he always pushed me to do computer science when I got older - not force but inspired me to do it (wanted to do medicine but too hard so switched to comp sci/programming)!
So, in my experience, I never had a really bad sexist interaction because I did computer science. People are shocked I am in programming in general but more like "Oooooh that's cool! Didn't know you did that!" kind of thing!
Now, this doesn't mean I haven't seen sexist remarks online, because I have but more through memes. I always ignore. Everyone, man or woman, should ignore such remarks/meme and move on. Don't let a bunch of people determine what you want and what's best for you! If you did, they would be controlling your life and not you yourself.
I don't know if that's easier said than done for you because I'm a hard person on people saying bad things to me. I just ignore you literally. I'm polite yes, but what you will say to me will go through one ear and out the other if it's really negative. Pretty much a "I don't care about your opinion, I will do me anyways" kind of person. E.g. if my brothers were to tell me "oh you a girl, don't do computer science" I won't listen to them at all.
And at the end of the day, what are they gonna do? Will your family members that are saying those stuff to you physically stop you from learning computer science? Especially since it's so accessible online so all you need a is a computer? All around the world, women are leaning computer science one way or another to change their lives and/or the lives around them.
They are making so much effort so for me to say "oh well.. you know some lads in my comp sci class say I can't do comp sci so I shouldn't" or "oh well I don't think learning programming is a woman's thing yknow because it's so dominated by men" - excuse my language here but that's flipping ridiculous!
This isn't some feminist or even anti-feminist thing here, it's a plain simple human thing: proving yourself and even the people around you wrong. Go into it and succeed. You're not too old or too young.
Why are their programs like SheCodes or BGIT (black girl in tech) that are making effort to help women push into tech? There's more women in tech now than there has been ever so if you're a woman and want to go into Tech but some lads are saying no? Do it anyways.
If a company has lads like that in them, that's the company's fault for hiring a sexist non-team player - says a lot about that company.
As humans we are never good enough so just get that out of your mind, less stress. Good enough for a job? all you got to do is keep going out it. Keep learning the theory, keep building the projects, keep redoing your resume and applying for jobs - keep going.
You quit, you let yourself down - especially when programming/ computer science is your calling!
I went on a bit of a rant but I hope some of this helps 🥳👍🏾💗

I want to talk about Luck and Strange finally after several listens. About music theory obviously I don't understand anything about it and I wouldn't even know how to make a review, so these are just my random impressions. If I have to be honest at first the first singles didn't impress me much. Although then they grew: David knows what he's doing. Then needless to say, the album hit on a really, really personal level, as a kind of consolation for the loss of Dad. It is a long reflection on life, a life lived fully in all its facets, and on family. There are so many parallels with my own life that I get chills. I don't know if it's his best album since Dark Side, but as Dark Side I think it has that same quality of universality. The songs I loved the most are A Single Spark, Sing and Scattered. But they are all of the highest quality.
In general Polly (and Charlie) had done a wonderful job with the lyrics, there is never anything that is put there just to fill in or to rhyme, it is all so meaningful and centered. And David's voice is wonderfully warm and enveloping, even when it's a little scratchy and rough.
Luck and Strange the more I listen to it, the more it grabs me. It is the story of his life practically and his peers (Dad's too, sigh). And how beautiful are these lines,"Time for this mortal man to love the child that holds my hand, And the woman who smiles when I embrace her These eyes stay dry but my, oh my, guitar" It's so David!
And then special mention because there's Rick on keyboards and here you start to feel those floyd vibes (and cry).
A Single Spark kind of reminds me of a beguine (Dad would have loved that!) and it's beautiful the concept it's built on which is that life is a single spark between two eternities and then this verse, “I'll watch the moon, kick off my shoes, reach for my old guitar,” I mean tell me if it's not all David here!
Between Two Points is a cover, Romany's voice is very delicate, beautiful and the lyrics are just wonderful. Lots of 90s vibes, even in the video! Ro and I have the same Doc Marteens!
Dark and Velvet Night is a poem Polly wrote for their anniversary (I mean let's realize!) and I don't know why it gives me musically the vibes of this cover of Chicago a few years ago that David did with Bob Geldof and Chrissie Hynde. I love when in the video David sings “Don't want to hurt this old heart” and touches his chest. How tender!
Sings I think is my absolute favorite. It gives me such familiar, cuddly vibes like a lazy Sunday morning spent in bed. I can just imagine him all ruffled and warm saying to me, “Darling, turn back the clock Give me time, make it stop Let's hold back the news Stay inside this cocoon,” and then these verses that, bam!, hit right to the heart, so much power of love, “No doubting you No doubting me" Me literally struck and sunk. And then the part where he hums and little Joe asks him to sing makes me melt with tenderness. (Small personal memory here: my dad was also into music and all things high tech, he used to strum us with his guitar and liked to record us kids when we sang).
Scattered is the masterpiece of this album, I think. I don't know if David did it on purpose or in a pandering way or if it is something unintended, but how much Floyd is here! But not in a posturing way, but rather as if it were the sum (or summa) of David and (and in) Pink Floyd. The beating heart, those dripping notes reminiscent of pinging, the acoustic solo and then the electric solo (I'll come back to that). I also really liked the strong piano part that gives me the idea of a swell. The solo (which is wonderful that it is not final, but followed by a final verse) is something soul wrenching, truly divine. And a special mention to the lyrics, which are wonderful and again reminded me of Dad (I said this album pierced my soul in a very personal way). Especially these verses, how beautiful are they? "I stand in a river Push against the stream Time is a tide that disobeys And it disobeys me It never ends"
#it took me forever to write this#totally annihilated by the beauty of this album#luck and strange#david gilmour#absolutely and undeniably the goat

Listen to: ‘Snow on the beach’ -by Taylor Swift ft. Lana Del Rey
ix: C.C. Lives An "If"
Parker got up the next day in no mood to be a real person. He dragged his feet in the direction of the couch and sat down beside her, she placed a cup of tea in front of him.
"You didn't tell me if you got it," she reminded him.
"Get what?" Her friend said sleepily.
"A date for prom," Cat rolled her eyes. "What were you looking for last night, genius?"
He groaned. "Yeah, I got it."
"Where is it?"
"My suit."
She went to the bathroom, searched in the pockets of his spider-man attire, pulled out a vial that had no web fluid in it, and went back to the room to get her coat. "I'll be right back."
"Where are you going?" Parker straightened in his seat and winced a little, he'd pulled on the stitches on accident.
"To put this in your computer," she replied, shaking the vial in her hand. "Rest, you need to get better if you wanna help me."
"I'm okay," he tried to get up.
"You get up and I'll break your kneecaps," she snapped.
Parker sat down again, his hands up in surrender and wincing again.
"Good boy," she nodded once. "Be right back."
Nursing Parker back to health was tough work, he couldn't stay still for long enough. He lacked what Cat liked to call common sense. She'd also tried to run while severely injured the night he'd come back, but at least back then she had an excuse to be running.
At least his metabolism was considerably faster than a regular human's, so by the end of the week, his injury was nothing but a pinkish scar. She hadn't offered to help him clean the wound after the first night, she didn't trust she'd be able to keep her hands on safe territory, standing so close to him while half-naked.
If her Peter could see her now, he'd tease her endlessly, fighting against the urge to throw herself at a different version of the boy felt like a cruel joke, to have Peter Parker back only to lose him again. Next to having a family, having Spider-man around was always good comfort, but this was just inconvenient. He wanted her, and she still didn't understand why, when she was so problematic.
"I'm back!" Parker announced from the bathroom.
The young woman was in the kitchen, staring at the young man's laptop with a scowl hoping it would feel pressured to work faster. She didn't reply to her friend at all, too focused on her task. Parker walked into the room with nothing but a white shirt and his boxers, too used to her presence to actually care about wearing proper clothes.
"Always great to be welcomed warmly," he joked.
Cat's eyes were glued to the screen. "My tech wouldn't have taken this long to crack into a defense satellite."
"Yeah, yeah, your world's much cooler than mine," he walked up to her and stared at the laptop over her shoulder. "We still have better doughnuts."
"I said that one time and you take it like an absolute truth," she walked away from the kitchen. "You ate?"
"No, but I'm too tired for that," he yawned. "You?"
"Hungry or tired?"
"Your pick."
"I'm bored."
"Told you to come with me," he said, joining her in the living room.
"I don't want people to get used to me. Imagine the bad guys preparing to fight two of you but there's only one, they would kill you—"
"Jane you are such a beam of sunshine," he interrupted her, leaning his head on the back of the couch.
Cat turned off the tv and looked at him sternly. "I'm serious. It wasn't a good idea to accept the suit."
"Have you ever noticed," he said squinting a little, "that you regret everything you do as soon as things start to end? You did the same when little Pete erased your memory. You said you regretted hurting him."
"It's different."
"Nah-uh," he retorted, moving to face her. "Now you feel like you might leave this place, you think you shouldn't have gotten so comfortable in my world, that I'll be miserable, right?"
She didn't want to reply, Cat stared at the laptop far behind on the kitchen aisle.
"Is that how you felt when your brother died too?" He pressed.
The young woman swallowed with difficulty, she nodded once.
"I told you before," she said quietly. "I liked my Peter so much that when he vanished it took away the only part of me that had a purpose. I was never the same after that." She looked into his eyes, almost begging. "I felt a little like when I was sixteen while being in this world with you, but I don't want to leave you feeling like that. You've gone through enough already."
Parker tilted his head a little, staring at her softly. "You only changed for the better, Cat. The hurt made you more human. It gave you a real heart. You're everything that's right in your world... in any world."
She remembered Tony's note saying she was the best of them, the fact that Parker agreed on this with a person he didn't like... she was touched.
"You looked after others because no one else would, in your own way," he shrugged. "How is that failing?"
"I just wish..." she blinked rapidly, looking up and taking a quick breath.
"What?"
She groaned, rubbing her eyes roughly. "I wish I could be fully happy just once. Like when I was sixteen."
Parker reached out and caressed the side of her face with his knuckles, he pushed a few curls away from her eyes. "I could make you happy," he replied, voice barely a whisper.
"Dammit," Cat closed her eyes, and she sobbed briefly. "I got a crush on Peter Parker twice!" She whined. "It's a curse..."
The young man chuckled, his thumb stroking her skin. "I count it as a blessing."
"I know, you're lucky to have caught my eye, I'm a sex machine."
Parker laughed, he leaned in. "Don't ruin it, Jane..."
She opened her eyes. The hero's gaze was sweet, everything about it felt like the instant where it's cold outside but your bed is warm and cozy and you have five minutes to spare, she wanted to snuggle deeper into the blankets. She also wanted to fully ruin the moment like she always did, but his hold was unwavering, just like his stare, he'd got her right where he wanted her. His smile grew.
They kissed.
Cat held onto the arm that was supporting his weight on the couch, she pushed herself up and leaned into him. Parker kept her face in place, making sure that she would not slip out of reach, his fingers dug through her curls and landed on the back of her head, deepening the kiss.
He'd been wanting to do that for a while and Cat could tell, she was enjoying it a bit too much to believe she hadn't thought about it more than once too. Her hands pulled him closer by the shoulders and she heard him chuckle against her lips.
"You think is funny?" She mumbled in annoyance. "Why you Parkers always laugh—"
"Can't be because we're happy?" He teased her, kissing her jawline.
"My Peter did the same thing when—"
"Don't," he was quick to interrupt her. "Stop calling him that."
"What?" She blinked.
"Why is he your Peter and I'm a last name? Why can't I be your Peter?"
"You know why."
He frowned, but it looked childish. "I get that at first it was to stop the confusion but it's just me now, and you still call me Parker."
"If I call you Peter, you won't be my Peter. Being Parker makes you someone... someone that can coexist with my past."
He thought about it for a moment, and in the end, he sighed heavily, eyes landing on her lips. "Promise I'm not a stranger in your life?"
"What do you mean?"
"Tell me we're friends."
Cat looked at him with a grin. "This is not how I treat my friends..."
"Liar."
He kissed her again, that time felt desperate. His body moved forward and trapped her against the couch. Cat cupped his face and kept him close, trying to give him room so he fit above her comfortably.
"Just this once," he requested, leaving a trail of kisses down her neck. "Let me be your Peter..."
"Okay," she gave in, sighing a little. "Okay, Peter."
His arms wrapped around her waist and suddenly she was lifted from the couch, Cat yelped and wrapped her legs around him. "You're gonna hurt yourself!" She exclaimed in alarm.
"Oh, don't play dumb, you know I'm okay," he snorted. "I was only spoiling myself a little before you switched back to being mean."
"You're a pain in my ass," she said, too flustered with his response.
"I can rub it off you if you like," he pinched her thigh playfully.
Parker —Peter— lowered her onto the bed, he was grinning widely while taking off his clothes. Cat supported her weight on her knees, staring at him and thinking deeply.
"Come closer."
The young man chuckled, he just couldn't stop smiling. Cat didn't know why, but she felt challenged by it. She wanted to see if he could still laugh while she had her hands on him. The mutant grabbed him by the shoulders and threw him onto the bed.
"So..." she straddled his hips. "You're cured."
"You can see for yourself," he placed her hand where his new scar was.
"Hmm," she said caressing it lightly. "I'm done being nice, then." Cat grabbed the hem of his boxers and gave him a questioning look, Peter only lifted his hips as an answer. "Good boy," she pulled the underwear down and threw them aside. "Stay still."
"Cat—"
"My name is Jane," The young woman hushed him. "You said you wanted to be mine, remember?"
"Yes."
"Then let me do what I want with you, and be quiet." Peter closed his mouth and his eyes widened eagerly. He looked so keen to please her... Cat moved down on him, her right hand making its way up to his hips. "How long has it been since the last time you slept with someone?" She asked casually.
Peter's gaze was on her hand. "A while."
"Months?"
"Maybe. Maybe more."
She pouted. "That's not good, is it?"
"Probably not," he squirmed. "Can I kiss you?"
"No," she smirked. "And you can't move, either."
Peter breathed in harshly when she touched him, his whole body reacted to it. Cat liked it when people were this expressive about physical contact. It made it more fun. "Look at that," her thumb drew small, slow circles on the tip of his cock. "You're so touch-starved... I shouldn't like it, but it's so cute..."
"Your hand is so freaking cold," he complained, but it didn't look like he was hating it.
"I'm sorry baby, let me warm it up," she mocked him.
Cat grabbed his member with both hands. "Shit!" Peter closed his eyes and grabbed fistfuls of the sheets. He didn't dare to look directly into her eyes at the moment. "Don't stop..."
"Again with the orders," she clicked her tongue, moving away for a moment. "If you can stay quiet for five minutes, I'll let you touch me. Deal?"
"Yes!" He urged her. "Just keep going!"
Cat laughed, shaking her head. "You're adorable."
She went down on him, and Peter hummed long and heavy. That would've been a beautiful moan had she let him make a sound. Half-regretting her decision, she kept going, hoping the five minutes could go by faster that way.
Cat massaged the sides of his v-line with her thumbs, she'd been dying to touch that part of his body for longer than she'd like to admit. He was warm and soft, and she would definitely leave a mark there later.
Peter was almost shaking, all his muscles were tense, but he was still quiet. When the urge to breathe was too much she moved and left a small kiss on the patch of skin above his pelvis. Cat heard him inhale so deeply and desperately that she almost laughed.
The five minutes were over, so she sat up.
"Well done!" She cleaned the corner of her lips. "Extra points for holding back your moans— I really thought you'd—"
Parker didn't let her finish, he wrapped his arms around her, initiating a kiss that was urgent and rough. She felt him twitching against her thigh, so she snuck a hand between their bodies to grab him again. However, Peter caught her hand at the last second and moved it in a different direction, right to her center.
"Let me make you happy..." he whispered against her collarbone.
Cat looked at him in silence, she was still wearing clothes, but his left hand was slowly riding up the hem of her blouse, stroking her skin with such tenderness she felt dizzy. "Just a one-time thing," she wasn't sure who she was talking to when she said it. "Don't get your hopes up..."
A flash of something she didn't recognize went through Peter's eyes, but he didn't say anything. He took off her blouse.

A Modern Great War (PT. 2)
Kyle knew he had to stay quiet about everything. But he knew it would be hard to not say anything while around the people he cared about the most.
He was worried that they'd get hurt in the process. He didn't want that to happen.
But there wasn't much of a choice.
He had woken up with a weird feeling, and it wasn’t that, “something is going to happen.” Feeling. It was a psychical feeling. Norticus told him that it was likely just his body responding to the sudden Aetherim in his system. It made sense. He just hoped that no one would notice.
He just got up, got changed, and went out to the mess hall.
“Hey, baby!” Alex called out from the table they sat at together.
He smiled and went over to him, getting a kiss on his cheek as he sat down, Rose jumping up to sit on the bench with them.
“How’d you sleep?” Alex asked.
“Fine. Usual, I guess. You?”
“I miss cuddles.”
He chuckled a little, and Alex tilted his head towards himself, giving him a kiss on the lips before they started eating.
“Lovebirds!” Price called out, making them look over.
“Hey, dad. And pops." Kyle said, seeing Graves next to him.
“Debrief in ten.”
“Rog.”
They ate quickly, and went off to the briefing room.
“Gaz, what was at that facility?” Norris asked as they sat down.
“Remember what I said, mortal.”
He shrugged, “It was an old Omega Group base. Lots of intel for the Aethers. On Samatha Maxis. All documents. I’d guess most were written by William Peck.”
“Fuckin’ conspiracy theories.” Price mumbled.
He learned long ago to not challenge anyone on the debate. Everyone would just keep putting him down for believing it.
“So they're that type.”
He just sighed quietly, and Alex grabbed his hand, lightly squeezing it before letting go.
“Did you find anything else? Weapons? Old tech?” Norris asked.
“Some type of old prototype weapons, I guess. I didn’t take them. Wasn’t worth it.”
“They didn’t work?”
“I didn’t want to touch them. It’s an Omega base.”
“Aetherim won’t effect you since it doesn’t exist.”
“Then what’s the thing I’m feeling?”
“He doesn’t know of what he speaks.”
“You can hear me?!”
“I can hear everything that happens in your head… Even the sweet thoughts you have for the American.”
“We’ll talk about that later.”
“Either way, that place is being wiped off the face of the earth.” Price stated.
“Rog.” he replied.
“Your both dismissed.” Norris stated.
They both stood, and once they left the room, Alex gently kissed his forehead.
“I’m sorry, Kyle.” He whispered.
“It’s just Norris being Norris… And me being stupid. I know that something had to have happened. But, people don’t like it that a lot.”
“Something definitely happened. I think everyone will agree on that. No one will agree on what happened.”
“I just happen to believe that everything was real.” “I know it was real now.”
“Mortal.”
“I haven’t said anything.”
He just went back to his room after giving Alex a quick kiss.
“What now?” He asked, looking in the mirror. He was hoping that’d make him look less crazy.
“I’ve sensed Saraxis’ energy. I can get you there now.”
“Wait until midnight if you can.”
“Okay. Now… Are we going to talk about the American?”
“His name is Alex, actually… Was I thinking in my sleep?”
“Surpisingly. It was adorable.”
“What was I thinking about?”
“His eyes. His smile. His ‘strong arms’. His laugh. His hair. Everything about him.”
He flushed, and looked down. He loved thinking about Alex. But others hearing his thoughts about him? No.
“Do you have a choice on what you can listen in on?”
“Not really.”
“Just don’t pay attention to it, then.”
“It’s cute, though. But, as you wish.”
“Good.”
He got a little bit of sleep, and when midnight came, he woke up, got his gear on, and looked in the mirror.
What was he about to do?
“There’s no turning back, Sergeant.” Norticus stated, making him jump.
“I know. It just feels weird. My family has no clue… I’m scared. I’m worried. And what happens when they find out?”
“If we’re successful, then they won’t.”
He sighed, “How am I supposed to get out of here?”
“Here.”
He turned around, and jumped when he saw the blue portal open in his room.
“The fuck?”
“Go through it. It’s where I found Saraxis’ energy.”
“...Okay.”
He went through it…

041. the street of an unfamiliar city at night
"You're acting as if you've never ordered food before."
The cool night air was getting pushed out by the hustle and bustle of the night market. Plenty of people were keeping the foot traffic steady, offering everyone a few seconds to be enticed by the food stalls and listen for trigger words shouted from the independent merchants before getting forced to move on to the next vendor. There were limited seats in front of most stalls, so the patrons were encouraged to eat fast so that the next batch of customers might enjoy their freshly made takoyaki, croquettes, or udon peacefully sitting down. The sound of utensils scraping together and change being exchanged were familiar tones to Suguru's ears. Satoru, on the other hand...
He grabbed somebody's taiyaki that they have been waiting for when the vendor cooking called out a number, quickly snatched someone's bubble tea that had been sitting on a counter, and now was demanding to know why he couldn't kick somebody out of their seat when he and Suguru were ready to eat. The curse eater had gotten to know his new friend for some short months now, and his consensus about this special grade is that he's abrasive, arrogant, unfiltered, and impulsive. Just to name a few. And now, he was making an ass out of himself by taking what he didn't pay for, or rudely telling people their turn is up.
Satoru grumbled about how he thought the number being called was the amount of times that food had been made and was up for grabs. And that the drink was just sitting there so there shouldn't have been an issue with taking it for himself. Or the lovely callout of 'they're taking their sweet ass time - we could've chowed down in under a minute tops!'
Suguru was the one doing collateral to prevent them from getting chased out.
"I've never done this before!" The older threw his hands up in the air in a fit of annoyance and some of his drink spilling out throgh the straw. "Everything smells good, and I'm sure it looks good but there's so many damn bright lights and reflections off of every metal object here that it's throwing my senses into disarray!"
He's had a thin layer of infinity activated since they spotted the night market and Suguru suggested they check it out - 'we've never been here before, let's take it all in' - to keep from anybody actually touching him. While he doesn't have any fear of a surprise attack, Satoru's leg would shake impatiently if they were stopped for too long. He'd turn every direction to keep away from one sharp noise only to find that he was listening to another one. The lens to his sunglasses were pitch black; nothing could be seen through them, however the bright night lights hitting him from every corner, all of this was getting him more and more agitated.
And then to be scolded of all these inconvenient rules? Satoru just wanted to enjoy the weekend break. With the force of cursed energy, he crumbled the plastic cup and let it drop to the ground before heading off.
"Satoru?"
His friend storming off, hands balled into his pockets wasn't new to Suguru. Him complaining about his senses getting thrown off was though.
"Hey, Satoru!"
Suguru caught up once they were away from the stalls, sliding through the crowd of customers and tourists, reaching for his classmates' shoulder but infinity was there for the rejection.
"Wait up, what do you mean you haven't done this before?"
"Exactly what I said," he snapped, still walking forward without any direction.
"Ordered food before?"
"No."
There wasn't much that Satoru had mentioned about his upbringing, and Suguru didn't pry that hard. He didn't know how different being raised in a family of shamans was compared to a family without supernatural powers, all he had was his own personal experience. It didn't raise the question of how shaman families conducted themselves in public gatherings like they just left from, but now he was concerning himself with the topic of Satoru's innate technique: the six eyes.
How sensitive was his other senses? How much do those glasses actually help?
"Want to try again?"
"You're so annoying!"
"Says the one acting like a brat right now."
"Piss off."
"Come on, Satoru," the way his name rolls off from Suguru's tongue is akin to a purr; like butter spread perfectly without resistance over toast. "We'll find a more quiet restaurant that isn't so busy."
Whatever sorcery Suguru had in de-escalating just as quickly as he could escalate competition between the both of them, it made Satoru's shoulders unhitch, and made his pace slow.
They found a restaurant that specialized in zaru soba, Suguru's favorite, and it met the prerequisites of it not being packed with a bunch of people, enough space so that they weren't near any other customers, and not bright. Sliding into a booth tucked in the corner of the small establishment, one of the workers came by to take their order.
Satoru ordered them two bowls of their special and two sodas.
"Not bad," Suguru egged him on with an innocent grin.
"I'll spit in your broth."

Louis Theroux Podcast's First Episode: The Pain Suffered By Shania Twain
Louis Theroux is a British-American documentarian, journalist, broadcaster, and author. He has received three British Academy Television Awards and a Royal Television Society Television Award.
Even with those accolades, he may not be that familiar to American audiences, but he is very good at interviewing people. I've seen him on clips from the BBC series When Louis Met... (2000–02), when Theroux accompanied a different British celebrity in each program in their daily lives, interviewing them as they go.
He's no Jimmy Fallon. He’s much better.
Theroux has a new Spotify podcast, eponymously called The Louis Theroux Podcast.
The new nine-part series will feature a lineup of fascinating guests, notable in their chosen fields. Season one of The Louis Theroux Podcast will feature conversations with Shania Twain, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Craig David, Tan France, Nick Cave, Jennette McCurdy, Nile Rodgers, Samantha Morton and Ben Elton.
Joining Theroux to kick off the series is singer/songwriting Shania Twain. Louis and Twain talk candidly about her extremely challenging childhood; how her career started by singing in strip clubs to support her family, the abuse from her stepfather, the sudden death of her parents during her rise to fame, and her musical inspirations.
I knew the interview would be different in a positive way when Theroux allowed listeners to hear the preamble to set up the tech, where Theroux shows off his limited French vocabulary and then intones, "I'm on 50 days straight on DuoLingo."
The interview begins with Theroux asking Twain if he can call her by her real name, which is Eileen Edwards. She agrees.
During the interview, it's obvious that Theroux has done an impressive amount of research for the interview. His questions eschew superficiality, and we quickly learn that Twain is a thoughtful, intuitive, and astute person with a life story that has all the components of a classic country song. Twain starts the interview by revealing that, in order to support her family, she started working as a bar singer at eight-years-old into the early hours of the morning and that she was a taxpayer at 11 years old, stating “I didn’t start making money in bars until I was 11. Officially, so when I was 11 I was a taxpayer, I was earning money under contract in the bars”. She touched on how she has suffered from crippling stage fright and how singing to drunk men in strip clubs at a young age was intimidating. She said that this led to her to feel anxiety about performing. She states: “I think if I'm being really fair to my history, and the history of the anxiety, I would say that it really was initiated from childhood and being in those bars where it was a very intimidating environment. Because I didn't want to be there. I didn't want to go up on that stage. I'm like, Oh, but I did it for my mother” She goes on to talk about how her stepfather physically abused her and her mother, who was diagnosed with depression. She confessed that there were ‘so many levels of abuse’, both physical and sexual, even stating that “both my mother and father threatened to kill each other, they would confess it to me” and “I really thought he was capable of killing us”. When her parents died in a car crash when Shania was 22, she then had to support her four siblings through her music career. Lastly, Twain discusses how she fell in love with music producer Mutt Lange who then cheated on her with her personal assistant. But she has long since found love again with Frédéric Thiébaud. Throughout it all, however, she confesses how music and songwriting have always been her source of inspiration and drive. Commenting on the affair, she states: “I will never forget how I felt through all of that, you know, shock and then the recovery period, but I'm just really over those negative feelings because I just worked through them.”
What I think makes this podcast unique and ear worthy among the hundreds of podcast interview shows is Theroux. He has that English dry wit that's engaging, and he manages a celebrity interview deftly -- asks incisive questions, listens well, and respects his listeners. Theroux doesn't pander, nor does he fawn. Instead, he elevates a People magazine-type celebrity interview into a sonic exploration of a famous person.
The choice of Shania Twain as the first episode was a smart one, since Twain's fame came at the cost of family tragedy, a challenging childhood, and a music career dotted with personal and romantic calamities. The Louis Theroux Podcast is available for free exclusively on Spotify here, with new episodes weekly from 6th June.

Vanilla Baby - 6
Spencer Reid x Female Reader
Summary: Reid and the new agent on the team do not get along well. Confident and charismatic, Reid despises Y/N for her work habits but can't seem to get enough of her.
Warnings: none I can think of
Word Count: 1k
The rain outside had slowed as the tea kettle boiled. Reid wondered how last week he had hated her and now, Y/N was in her apartment leaving the scent of vanilla on his couch and in his head.
"Do you have peppermint?" She smiled as she admired Spencer's appointment. Her eyes glowed deep y/e/c as they glossed over the covers upon covers of books falling off his bookcase. Little Women, War and Peace, Crime and Punishment, and Beloved all adorned his wall. Y/N was a reader herself, holding Beloved in her hand like a precious ruby.
"I adored this book, read it in high school." She offered. Spencer was so hot and cold with her that she half expected him to push her out as soon as she crossed the threshold of his dark apartment. But he didn't. Instead, his ears perked up at the start of academic conversation.
"Toni Morrison outdid herself. So many analogies and allegories, I almost didn't want to finish it in 5 minutes." He smiled, not trying to be cocky in his comments but sometimes it seemed that way. Blush rose on his cheeks, but Y/N never assumed bad about Spencer. She instead said something surprising.
"It must be hard to have a brain that moves so fast. I loved reading the pages over and over again, deciphering meanings and being excited to pick it up again when I don't have the time to finish a book in one sitting. I wouldn't want to read a book in five minutes and be done with it." She rambled as she smoothed the dog eared pages of Lord of the Flies, completely missing Spencer's shocked face. He wasn't upset, or angry, just shocked. Never before had someone understood the way his IQ was sometimes a burden. People wrote it off as a gift and laughed when he wished he was normal. He picked his jaw up from the floor as she turned to face him. Silence covered the room like a blanket.
"No one's really understood that before." He stated simply, eyes looking deep into Y/N's. He saw more this time, deep galaxies and compounding emotions all in a y/e/c iris. Someone who understood him and didn't see him as the "residential genius" but instead as a person. The whistle of the tea kettle interrupted his trance before his stare became creepy and he turned so quickly that he knocked an auburn Cal Tech mug off the counter and watched as it shattered into shards of what the mug once was.
"I'll get that, you get the tea." Y/N said softly, eyes gleaming as she kneeled down to gather some of the peaces. Reid could not help an unholy thought or two as she quickly walked to take the kettle off of the stove and grabbed a new mug with a Quantico logo on it.
"I hope you enjoy milk and honey." Reid smiled as he mixed the teas and passed Y/N one. Led to the couch, she sat next to him so that their knees slightly touched.
"Tell me about your family." She spoke, unknowing of the absolute wreck in store for her. He only laughed a took another sip of his tea.
"Loaded question, we'd be here a while."
"I have time if you want to talk, I'm also eyeing the copy of The Bell Jar you have sitting on your bookshelf if you don't." This is what Reid did like about Y/N. She didn't push. He knew she had heard stories of his past, but she never treated him different or pressured him to know. She waited until Hotch quietly told her about Hailey one night on the plane. She was easy to talk to, a rare type who actually listened when you spoke and didn't speak to fill the air.
"Come on, tell me about all the Beethoven I'm sure your mom played when you were in her belly to make you a genius!" Y/N laughed, playfully pushing his arm and taking another sip of her peppermint tea.
"I wish it was that easy. My dad left when I was young. My mom was diagnosed with schizophrenia a little after that. I was a pre-teen in Las Vegas public high school and I didn't go a day without bruises from the older boys. Then I went to Cal Tech and no one took me seriously because I was 10 years younger than everyone else. But, I made it to the FBI and now I'm doing much better." He rambled quickly, wanting to get the retelling of his past over with. Y/N set her tea down slowly, reaching for his upper arm and rubbing it in soothing circles. She looked at him not with pity, but with understanding.
"Spencer, I am so sorry." She slowly said as she moved to hug him. Usually, she would immediately get pushed away by the doctor, but her vanilla scent engulfed him and her touch was warm. He embraced her sweet arms as they wrapped around him and almost shivered at the feeling of her hands on his back. He was frozen in her embrace and Y/N quickly backed away.
"Oh, I forgot you don't like hugs! I'm sorry! I'm a big hugger it was an honest mistake." She apologized profusely as she covered her face with her hands. Spencer slowly grabbed her hands and pulled them from her face, revealing Y/N's blushed cheeks. He laughed slightly and smiled,
"It's ok, it was nice and I didn't mind."
"Oh, I'm so glad. I felt so horrible I would never want to make you uncomfortable! Especially after you welcomed me into your home and made me tea." She mumbled quietly, still embarrassed with a red hue all over her face.
"Really, I enjoyed the hug. It felt nice after all that emotion." Spencer smiled, tucking one of Y/N's stray hair's behind her ear before caressing her face for a short second. Y/N leaned into his hand on her chin before he quickly took it away. What was he doing? This was his coworker and now his sort of friend and he was being weird. He was enjoying hugs and opening up and Reid was a little scared at the thought of being vulnerable again. Y/N watched as their special moment was stolen, Reid going back to his usual armored self again. It was sad to see, but she couldn't do anything about it except sigh as he sealed himself off again. Before anything could be said, Reid's phone lit up with Garcia's name. Both of them sighed at the thought of another case, but he picked up.
"Boy wonder, I have a case for you." Garcia sang into the phone.
"We'll be there as soon as possible." He spoke tiredly, before realizing what he said and turning to Y/N with doe eyes in headlights.
"WE?" Garcia responded excitedly, as she always did at the prospects of Reid communicating with a girl. It didn't matter if it was a friend or a partner.
"Y/N came in for tea after she drove me home. We'll be there soon." He laughed before hanging up, rolling his eyes at Garcia's antics.

The Engagement | Nanami Kento + Gojo Satoru
SYNOPSIS: You're engaged to Satoru.
READER: gender neutral
WORDS: 1014
WRITTEN: 02/28/2021
NOTES: Sorry this took, like, three weeks to write! I was/am taking a Nanami break.
You knew you shouldn't have expected to stay together with Kento. You weren't usually such an optimist, but Kento was your home.
He made you feel safe and stable. He wasn't wild and unpredictable. He warmed you up whenever you were cold and always offers protection.
But he left. He didn't necessarily leave you, but it was implied when he said he didn't want to become a sorcerer. He was the one to suggest breaking up since he would be too busy at work and you would be traveling the world for missions.
That was how your two-year relationship with Kento ended. It hurt you and you never got over it, but you got better with time.
Of course, you never thought you'd get into a relationship with Satoru. When the two of you were still teenagers, you rarely talked to him.
He was simply your upperclassman who made fun of Kento for having a significant other. You didn't really like Satoru when he was a teenager. You thought he was a little shit, and he still was, but he knew what lines to not cross when it came to you.
You remembered the first time you two had an actual conversation. It was when Kento broke up with you, and all Satoru said was; "I know this café with the best shortcake."
You had stared at him with a blank expression and an insult was on the tip of your tongue, but all you did was nod.
He took you there, ordered for you, and paid for you. He didn't make fun of you or ask you how you were feeling, and you were thankful for that.
You didn't want to talk about your feelings or how you felt because you felt shitty. What else were you supposed to say? “I'm totally okay with my long-term boyfriend breaking up with me?”
Satoru simply talked about himself and how he wanted to change Jujutsu Tech. You ate your shortcake silently but listened to his every word.
Satoru was the opposite of Kento. He was energetic and did things on his own. He was a wildcard, but he was still stable to an extent. He offered you a home and made sure you were always taken care of.
So you said "yes" when he proposed to you after dating for two years. His family had never even met you, but that was because he didn't want you to meet them.
They were horrible people who only cared about bloodlines. You didn't come from any major family, so there was no way they would approve of you.
Satoru didn't care. He enjoyed the fact that his family didn't like you. He laughed for days when you asked him if he was going to invite his family to the wedding.
He had said "Fuck no" and continued to laugh, patting you on your head for being so funny.
When Kento got the wedding invitation in his apartment after coming back from work after spending four days there, he was confused.
He held the invitation in his hand and stared at it, straining his eyes to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. He never even knew the two of you had started dating, but it wasn't like he kept in touch with either of you.
He didn't know what he was feeling. Something was gnawing at him and he hated it, but he thought it was because he was sleep-deprived so he let it go.
The next day, when he was waiting for the train to arrive at the station so he could go to work, he texted you a simple "Congrats'' and stared at the message for a moment as if you would reply right away. He put his phone away soon after.
At that time, he didn't think much about what the dreadful feeling in his heart was.
When you got the message from Kento, you blinked a few times before putting your phone away. You didn't bother to respond to him. You weren't hurt by him breaking up with you anymore, but you didn't see the point of texting back.
"Who was it?" Satoru questioned with his toothbrush in his mouth as he leaned half his body out from the bathroom.
You walked over to him and pulled down the cat headband he had on so that it covered his eyes as a makeshift blindfold.
"No one special," you replied.
Planning the wedding took a lot of work and you were thankful Satoru actually cared about the decorations enough to provide input. He mainly took care of the desserts and you didn't mind letting him have free reign on that.
The two of you weren't in any rush to get married so soon. You simply thought it'd be easier to pick out what you liked first at a steady place, then book a venue.
Honestly, Satoru had even suggested simply going to Las Vegas and getting married there within an hour, and you smacked him for that.
Itadori Yuji had put a pause on your wedding, but you didn't mind. Satoru cared for the boy and Sukuna's fingers had put a weight on both of your shoulders.
You had to send letters to all the guests you invited to tell them that the wedding would be postponed due to personal issues.
Kento felt relieved, but he didn't understand why until he saw you in person for the first time in years.
He was still in love with you. You didn't know because of the stoic expression on his face, but he knew.
A feeling of guilt and regret built up in his heart, but he knew there was nothing he could do—not when you looked so happy with that ring on your finger and that closed-eye smile you had when Satoru leaned in to tell you something.
Satoru pulled down his blindfold with his finger and glanced at Kento briefly before leaning down to kiss you.
Kento forced himself to look away from you two as he checked his watch to head to his next mission.

Awsamdude/Technoblade- Rumor Has It
For my beloved @sugarandspicebutnonice
Warnings: sexual innuendo
Techno was a great Prince. He worked hard to keep his family's name in good graces. All of Phil's boys worked hard to keep their names held high with respect. Tommy was known around for keeping sprits high, any ball or formality with Tommy was always known as the best to attend.
His older brother Wilbur was a skilled artisan with music. Always teaching and making new sounds like it wasn't any struggle. Anyone could find him out in the court yard with a guitar in hand. Humming and singing a casual song.
The eldest, Technoblade was a skilled swordsman and statists. Anytime he was called into a meeting, the others shuddered knowing he would trump them all. He made swinging a sword look like art. Trust me, you would know.
You had a wonderful relationship with techno for a long time. But sadly, you both had parted away from each other. Of course, it was on all good terms, He was more concerned with the kingdom rather than establishing a strong and sturdy relationship.
You, being a knight- fully understood. But you also choose to be a bit selfish about it. You truly wished for him to give you a bit of attention at least when together. He could be such a ladies man when he choose to in public, yet when it came to the two of you he just became closed off and anything but warm. Even behind closed doors it was lacking some spark of passion.
So you both agreed it was best to let things lie.
But what left you with a sour taste was how quickly he moved on.
You would give him the benefit of the doubt of course, he was a well known man. She could have been someone he had met previously, and during your break off she was there to talk it out with him.
She, she ain't real
But something about her screamed fake, her smile and movements seemed too thought through. Her words all laced with a sickening sweet hum, it also didn't help she giggled at basically anything techno said.
Plenty of times you sat with the general and talked about how dense she came off. Respectfully, you had assumed Tech would have went for a well educated woman such as yourself. But after seeing her- you wondered if that type was in short supply.
Anything she did, she would just bat her eyes and he was wrapped around his finger.
It honestly made Sam and you laugh.
She ain't gonna be able to love you like I will
As much as you started to loathe the woman, techno wasn't yours anymore. Thus you started getting closer to Sam. Both of you connecting on how your past relationships had been. Well you were casted aside, Sam was flatly cheated on.
Of course knowing that, your heart ached for him. Sam was a well educated and handsome man with a heart of gold. Respectfully his whole job was centered on protecting and serving the people.
Jumping into a relationship was Sam was like practically nothing. You promised him all the love in the world, and just like you, he promised to give you the same.
And love each other you did.
She is a stranger
Techno did see you grow close to his general, and honestly it didn't set well with him.
He liked the woman he was with, but he also had known you since childhood. You both had played within the court yard plenty of times to claim it as your own.
Sam didn't do that with you. Sam had only started to know you when you joined the ranks.
Techno would often catch himself watching you and Sam spar. His eyes would watch as Sam's hand grabbed at your waist, gripping your hips and using his own to throw you off balance. He hated how close your bodies were.
At one point he couldn't help but pull you aside and ask why you let him touch you. But that conversation drove spikes through his heart. "How can you just let him touch you like that?! He’s practically all over your body! You wouldn't let me touch you like that- and You and I have history" he yelled not believing what he saw.
When your face twisted in front of him into disgust, he thought you were almost joking. "The hell is with you?! I'm not your girlfriend! Or don't you remember!?" You yelled at him. Lightly shoving him back from you. "Don't tell me where he can, and cannot touch me" You sneered. In all his years he never saw you so heated.
Sure, she's got it all
Truthfully you saw techno leave you as a drop to his pride. He dropped a knight for a soft noble girl. A girl babied all her life. You knew as soon as she was exposed to blood she would have fainted like a goat in pasture. But in the end of the day, you weren't sleeping with her so what did it matter?
But, baby, is that really what you want
Arguments between Technoblade and you had become more frequent. Sam let you duke it out, he knew he had no place to tell you to leave it be. Sam also didn't appreciate how fast Techno jumped onto your case about finding someone else.
Although he knew it irked you about Techno moving on, you never got in his face about it like he would. Sam viewed this as your way of showing you were the bigger person.
On one particular day he found the arguments amusing. Techno had started up again when Sam was publicly teasing you. Well techno found your back talking distasteful, Sam relished with how powerful you were.
Listening to techno ramble off on his pathetic reasonings left you a laughing mess, even to the point you cut his argument off. "Bless your soul, you've got you're head in the clouds, she's going to use you like a fool!" You laughed in his face.
His jaw tightened as he spat at your words, pointing at Sam. "You made a fool out of you General. She doesn't even love you- Your wasting your time on a-" at Tech's words you couldn't help but push back even harder for him targeting Sam.
"How dare you say that. Your common penny is getting around more than I- And, boy, she's bringing you down!" You called out. Putting a finger to his chest. "She made your heart melt- But its all a lie!" You didn't stop their, you had more to say to him. "She thinks your all that- a fairy tale prince to save her dreams! But you're cold to the core" you said to him. Causing him to back off.
"Besides. Now rumor has it she ain't got your love anymore"
Rumor has it, ooh, Rumor has it, ooh, Rumor has it, ooh
You weren't lying. Their were plenty of rumors going around saying she was sleeping with others besides Techno. Although Sam and you had no proof to this. Your hunches seemed right.
On one day, Sam had left for a out of village meeting. You really didn't mind, you trusted him enough and knew he wouldn't do anything behind your back.
But sadly you wished to go with him. Techno had asked for you to join him for a round of chess. Something you both greatly enjoyed when together. But now you knew there was meaning to the game.
Sure enough when you sat with in in the court yard, he brought up Sam.
"You know he is much older than you..." he said as he moved his knight across the board.
"And She is half your age" you said flatly. Picking your pawn up. "But I'm guessing that's the reason that you stayed" you said moving it to where you pleased. His brows drew together in slight anger. But he did try and keep his calm.
"I heard you've been missing me" he said, a small smirk growing on his lips. He found pride within those rumors. Knowing that you still supposedly whined and withered about for him.
Of course, you knew he was gravely mistaken.
"You've been telling people things that you shouldn't be" you said carefully. Knowing he was probably behind the rumors somehow.
Techno took this moment to see if he still had a effect on you. Usually during chess you both would flirt a bit. So naturally, he took the chance. "Like when we creep out and she ain't around" he said bemused, your face twisting into disgust again.
"I sneak out to see Sam... besides Haven't you heard the rumors" you said moving your queen. When he didn't respond you laughed. He didn't even under stand. "Bless your soul, you've got your head in the clouds" you said, fully amused within the moment.
"C'mon darlin... I know you fell hard for me when we started dating..." he cooed to you. Your eyes darting up like daggers.
"You made a fool out of me" you said to him. Wanting to get your point across. Well he moved his pawns about you took your moment to explain how you felt. "You make me sick to my stomach.. And, boy, you're bringing me down" you said softly. Smiling to yourself slowly. "You made my heart melt, yet I'm cold to the core" You said, moving your queen to take his knight. Your eyes slyly skimmed over his. His lost knight now within your fingers.
"But rumor has it I'm the one you're leaving her for"
After that game, rumors and tensions soared wildly. Sam at one point thought you were back and evolved with Techno again. Of course you explained to him the situation, which thankfully he understood and apologized for trusting second hand mouths.
Rumor has it, ooh, Rumor has it, ooh, Rumor has it, ooh
All of these words whispered in my ear
But Techno's mood plummeted fast...
Tell a story that I cannot bear to hear
A engagement, specifically Sam and yours. Oh how his blood boiled at the news. He thought his hands all over you was bad, but now... now you would take Sam's name in law. You would he his wife. Not Techno's.
Just 'cause I said it, it don't mean that I meant it
Because of this news he didn't hesitate to run and find you. More than hell-bent on giving you a piece of his mind. He wanted to make it clear you couldn't marry him.
People say crazy things
He didn't care what people would say, he wanted to claim you again. Techno didn't want anyone else touching you. He especially didn't want Him touching you.
Just 'cause I said it, don't mean that I meant it
Even if within the past week he yelled hurtful things to you, he hoped you would understand he just wanted to protect you from unworthy suitors. Sam couldn't provide for you like Techno could. Sam was a general born from a farmer. Technoblade was to be crowned king.
Just 'cause you heard it
So their he stormed. Heading to the stables, knowing full well that's where you were. His anger was fuming. He couldn't wait to shove it in Sam's face that Techno wouldn't let you marry him.
But lets just say Technoblade was the one left speechless in the end.
Rumor has it, ooh, Rumor has it, ooh Rumor has it, ooh,
Especially when he slammed the door open to the stables and saw Sam's body covering yours, your legs around his waist in a tight hold well he was buried deep inside you.
But rumor has it he's the one I'm leaving you for

Whacky Gotham, Goofy New York, and Chaotic Paris.
(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4) (Part 5) (Part 6) (Part 7) (Part 8)
Chapter 6: Evade The Bats, and Beat The Crows
•—–—–·†·–—–—•
The girls are in the old living room setting up clues (that are absolutely... useless) around Gotham. One being a picture Harley and Multimouse took earlier that day.
"They might think to look here after they realize the clues are fake." - Steph
"Then where else would they not think to look?" - Maria
"W.E, I can get you and Harley in without them knowing easily." - Barbara said with a confident smile.
"But they'll have to go incognito... especially you Harley, no offense, but your outfit stands out just a tad." - Steph
"Ehhh, none taken, I'm sure I can tink of somthin' else tuh wear." - Harley
"I can help with that, but I'll need some clothes and some sewing supplies." - Maria said already thinking of what she could make.
Cass gave a nod and headed out of the room, after a few minutes she came back with t-shirts, jackets, sweaters, shorts, jeans, etc. and droped the pile of clothes infront of the group. She then handed Maria a sewing set she got from Alfred.
"Thanks Cass. I'll get to work on making our costumes." - Maria
"Let me help yuh wit' dat hun." - Harley said as she picked up most of the clothes for Maria
"Thanks." Maria
•—–·Let's see the Chaos shall we·–—•
"You never told us she could use magic!" - Red Hood looking under the table
"I wonder if she can infuse magic with coffee..." - Red Robin said looking in the cabinets for the third time.
"Stop looking for coffee!" - Red Hood
"She could've hidden in here." - Red Robin said while crabbing a mug
"I haven't had enough sleep to deal with this." - Selina then walked over and flopped herself on the couch and proceeded to fall asleep on impact.
"Maria get your tiny self back here right now or else!" - Tony
"Or else what? She Knows MAGIC! What else does she know that you haven't told us?!" - Red Hood
"... I never told you becuase it's meant to be a secret!" - Tony
"Oh, so now you agree with keeping things a secret?" - Red Robin grabbing the coffee
"What else can she do Tony." - Batman
"Well... she's great with tech, can kick butt in a LOT of different ways, has magic, and if she wants to, she can find and know where everyone or anyone is, but I think she gets massive headaches from a wide search like that." - Tony
"Anything else?" - Batman
(Tony thinkng of all the tiny gods she has in jewelery, and that she keeps Paris/friends and family safe on a daily basis, and that she is the well known designer MDC...)"No..." - Tony
As ivy was listening to them talk, she continued to search her garden, until one of her plants had a message fo her.
"Hello Ms. Ivy, please don't help Batman and Iron Man find us, we promise we'll be careful." - Maria
"Where are you?" - Ivy asked whispering into the plant.
After a few minutes Ivy got a detailed plan that Maria, Harley and the girls came up with to evade The IronBat group (Maria thought that would be better than ManMan group 'But it's Bat MAN and Iron MAN, so it has tuh be The ManMan group.' was Harleys defence, but Maria won that one.) and Ivy agreed to help as best she could.
•—–· Over to the Miraculous gang ·–—•
Plagg is cackling like there's no tomorrow.
"Guys something must be wrong, Plagg won't stop cackling, he won't even touch the cheese I gave him!!!" - Adrien
"There's no time for that, we need to find out where the hell Maria is!!" - Chloé
"Hahahaha, Ti- heheh Tikk- pffhaaaaaaahaha!!!" - Plagg
"He's trying to form words!" Adrien cradling Plagg in his hands "What is it my friend? Don't do this, you're to young...*sniff * you're to beautiful!"
"Hehehehe Shhhh- hahaha, she- she- haha...heheh- I'm so p-hehe-Proud wahahaha " - Plagg
"Proud?! She?! Where?! Who, is it Maria?!" - Chloé
"Hhhhhhhhahhaaaaaaaaaa" - Plagg
"Oh God he's wheezing!" - Adrien
"Hey guys, Peter and I got the snacks, found out where Maria might- oh kwami." - Alix walking into the room to a zombie looking Chloé, a panicked Adrien and the Kwami of death/bad luck/chaos laughing himself to death.
"Has he finally lost it?" - Peter
"She has become a true cat! hahahahahaaaaa heheheheeeeeee." - Plagg
Everyone in the room but Plagg "Oh fu-"
•—–· Over to the Batfam ·–—•
So everyone is panicking because for the past hour none of them could find Multimouse. Robin is sitting on the couch next to a now fully awake Selina, Red Hood and Nightwing are once again feeding each other the worst possible situation she could be in, Tony may or may not be hyperventilating, Red Robin is drinking coffee, and Batman is as stoic as ever... well on the outside anyway, on the inside, it's a warzone. Ivy is drinking her tea, slightly worried, but also hiding a small smile.
"What if we ask Oracle to try and help us find her?" - Red Robin
"... Right... Yes, ok let's do that... Bats you do it, I need to sit down." - Tony
•—–· Back to the girls ·–—•
The girls moved everything to the Bat-cave so they could set the route they would take, then the Bat-Computer started ringing.
"Hide!" - Steph
"Where, dere's nuttin' tuh hide behind!" - Harley
"Quick under the Bat-Computer." - Barbara
As soon as Harley and Maria hid under the Bat-Computer, Batman and the rest of the Batfam was on video call.
"Hey guys, what do you need?" - Barbara acting like nothing happened
"We need you to search for Maria, she's in a dark gray suit with pink accents, and she's with Harley." - Batman
"Ok, no prob, I'll contact you when I've found something." - and with that Barbara exited the call.
"Should we start heading out?" - Maria
"Yup, and here are your ID badges, don't lose them. I'll give our Batfam fake sightings, and lead them far away, then once you reach W.E I'll slowly start leading them closer to you." - Barbara
"Thanks, keep in touch if they decide to split up." - Maria
"Roger that." - Steph said giving a solute
•—–·–—•
Soon Multimouse and Harley are running over roof tops again, doing tricks, and stopping petty crimes, Barbara is leading the Batfam all over Gotham, and then they got to W.E, after Maria transformed back, they entered the building. Thanks to Babs, they entered without any problems and had free roam for the entire building, with some exceptions like new weapons designs, or the roof. They were hiding in the building for about an hour on the 7th floor when Barbara called in.
"Hey girls, you might want to be careful, I spotted some of Scarecrows goons a few blocks away, they seem to be heading in your direction, I'd say about 6mins tops until they reach W.E. Best to find a good room to stay in, or get out of there." - Barbara
"Thanks fawh de heads up Babs." - Harley
"Ok, we'll try to get out, let us know if we should turn back or not." - Maria
"Got it, and be careful." - Barbara
Maria and Harley then made their way back down, they were taking the stairs, because they figured it would be quicker, once they were on the second floor, they started to calmly make their way through the doors of the stairwell. That's when Scarecrows goons busted in, shouting for everyone to get down, Harley made sure to stay as close to Maria as possible as the goons gathered everyone to a wall. They were told to not move, talk, or do anything to anger them, once everyone was up against the wall, that's when Scarecrow came in. As he entered the room some of the employees started to look very scared, when Maria looked over to Harley, she saw her mouth 'it's ok', afterwards the goons had them all tied up and on the floor sitting down. Scarecrow scanned them before speaking.
"One of you will be testing my newest and most potent fear toxin as of yet. We can do this one out of two ways." He said lifting up two of his needle syringed fingers. "1. You can be a hero, and let yourself be my newest test subject, aka the boring way or 2. I pick whoever I want, aka the slightly less boring way. Now, who wants to go first?"
•—–· Over to Batman ·–—•
The Batfam was running around the other side of Gotham, now without Tony, because someone ( ehem Thor, ehem) was making a giant mess at Avengers Tower, and was fighting Loki... again. It was when they decided to call Oracle that things took another turn.
"Oracle have you foun- " - Batman
"They're at W.E. and Scarecrows there, I can't get in contact with them, and I can't get into the cameras at the moment, I need you to get your butts over there now!" - Oracle
"Wait you were in contact with them?!" - Red Hood
"Not the time! Just get over there before someone gets hurt!" - Oracle
"We're on our way." - Batman
They all then kicked it into high gear and were running to W.E, and out of everyone, Damian seemed to be the most visibly panicked, if him running twice as fast as everyone was any indication. At the speed they were going, they would be there in 20mins or less... hopefully.
•—–· Back to Maria and Harley ·–—•
So while Scarecrow was giving his little speech, Maria whispered into a plant to let Ivy know their situation, she wasn't able to get an answer before she and Harley were pulled away from the crowd.
"And what do we have here? Harley Quinn and a child. How interesting, well then, which one of you would like to test my new fear toxin?" - Scarecrow
"Eh, do me, I bet I got a lot o' trauma and fears from my time wit' Mistuh J. dat yuh would just love tuh see." - Harley
"... As tempting as that sounds I think I'll test it on your little friend here, after all, I know better than to mess with one of the Sirens." - As Scarecrow said that, one of the goons dragged Maria over to him. She didn't panic, she was actually really calm, which worried Harley even more because, remember all that emotional trauma she saw Maria had? Yeah, not the best match for the fear toxin.
As Scarecrow grabbed Maria, she locked eyes with Harley, and gave a brief smile before she felt a sharp jabbing pain in the side of her neck. Her vision went hazy, and from Harleys' point of view, she went a little limp from it.
As Maria started to see again she could hear screams, car alarms going off, and explosion in the distance, when she looked up, she saw them, her friends, her team... her family, they were all there lying infront of her... none of them moving, all of them were lifeless, looking as though turned into a gray husk of what they once were, and beside them were all the Kwamis, and their respective Jewelery, broken and shattered. She felt the tears fall as she looked around. Paris, the once beautiful city of lights, was now a wasteland, everything had a gray tone to it, people, animals, everything that had life... was dead.
And then she heard laughing, a sick disturbing laugh that was all to familiar... Lila. When she turned and saw Vulpina, she felt sick just looking at her.
"You have failed Maria, everyone you knew and loved is gone, all because you weren't here." - Lila
All she felt in that moment... was pure anger, she began to struggle, but somthing was holding her. She kept hearing that stupid laugh, and kept struggling harder and harder.
"You were never good enough, you were meant to always be our everyday Ladybug, but you never were, you never cared for us, and that's why, they're all gone, because you weren't good enough." - Lila
The last four words kept playing over and over in her head, until something clicked, she wasn't in Paris, so how did she get there? The last place she was at... was with Harley, she was in the W.E. building, and had fear toxin injected into her. As she came to that realization, she could hear the laughing fade just a bit, she closed her eyes and focused on finding everyone's souls, when she did, she saw that Scarecrow was right infront of her, a goon next to Harley, and a goon behind her, the other goons had left and were on the first floor. She snapped back when she heard Lilas' voice again.
"You always were stubborn and never accepted the real truth, as class president aren't you supposed to just roll over and do as you're told." - Lila
Maria was done listening to her, and decided to kick Lila in the face (since someone didn't think to tie up her ankles.)
"Just go rott in hell already you lieing fox!" - Maria
Maria didn't get any answer, all she knew was that she hit whatever was really infront of her hard. Maria then heard Lilas' voice morph into a heavier, more distorted voice.
"That's a first, guess I'll have to increase the dosage." - Scarecrow
She then felt another jabbing pain in her neck, all she could do was scream from the pain, her head was spinning, and all she could hear was laughing, sickening laughter that came from both Lila, and now Hawkmoth. One thing Scarecrow didn't account for, was the deep hatred Maria held for both individuals he made her see. Because soon after he gave her more fear toxin she got her footing, pushing back into the goon behind her before using the goons' grib on her to do a half backflip into kicking the guys face in, quickly knocking the goon out, when she stood back up she only saw Hawkmoth, surrounded by her lifeless team and family, she only saw red, and charge right at him. She kept punching and roundhouse kicking him, giving one final charge, ramming into Hawkmoth before she felt weightless. She never heard the panicked scream Harley let out, she never heard the shouts that came from the Batfam just reaching the second floor, before she hit something... something rapped around her holding her from falling any further, causing her to start thrashing around thinking it was Hawkmoth, before seeing he was also grabbed by something. She struggled ignoring the slight pain that went through her harms and legs. She slowly calmed down as she felt her feet touch the ground again, she then saw another Hawkmoth that was now mixed with Lila hug her, she tried to break free, but realized that it wasn't Lila or Hawkmoth... It was calming, and her voice was gentle, it was Ivy. She only heard a few words, that's when she felt something blow on her face, and after a few seconds, she lost conscientiousness.
Harley came sprinting down and was by Ivys' side in less than a minute. Ivy could tell Harley was worried and joined her in hugging a now sleeping Maria.
"I'm sawhry Ives, It all just happened so fast, and she was so awesome at kickin' Cranes @ss, I din't get her out of dere quick enough." - Harley said as she looked Ivy in the eyes, with tears threatening to escape.
"It's alright Harley, none of this is your fault." - Ivy replied comfortingly to Harley
As the two hugged Maria Batman came over.
"We'll take it from here." - Batman
"Hell no. We ain't leavin' her side." - Harley
Batman just let out a sigh, after he dealt with Scarecrow and his goons, Batman, along with his sons, Ivy and Harley, all headed back to the Bat-cave where the other girls and Alfred were waiting.
If anyone noticed Robin looking over to Maria with a concerned look, they just ignored it, and continued their way back home.

Aik vs. Iruz - Doomed Timeline (Part Two)
(Featuring @aik-membrane, Gaz from @game-slavers, and @i-am-spork, and mentions of @invader-d1b, @tallest-blue-nerd, @ukagaka-zim, and @survivor-zim 's bad version.)
Tw/ blood, violence, death.
It actually took two days for them to have an opening to board the ship without being spotted. Gaz was anxious to get inside and upset that Aik was taking so long. But Aik knew that they couldn't afford to screw this up. Not for their sakes, not for D1b's sake.
But once Aik had worked a safe and hidden path, boarding the Massive was easy. Aik landed the ship in a bay meant for trash and junk, and he kept it cloaked. This room was dangerous, very close to the engine room which was hot and loud. If something happened to the ship, this area would be the first place to blow up. And there were some discarded potentially dangerous pieces of tech here.
But they could hide the ship here at least.
Aik opened the hatch and stepped out of the ship carefully, listening for any signs of Irken life.
Gaz cautiously poked her head out of the ship. "Now what?"
"Stay here," Aik ordered quietly.
Gaz climbed out of the ship, shutting the hatch behind her.
"Gaz, I'm serious. This place could be dangerous, you need to stay out of sight until I can find out what happened to D1b and Miyuki," Aik insisted.
"They're my family, I'm coming. Besides, I don't trust you all the way. I need to keep an eye on you," Gaz argued.
Aik sighed heavily. The girl was determined, and if he left her alone like this she would undoubtedly get herself into more trouble. "Alright, fine." He gestured for her to follow him. He pulled up a scanner on his robotic arm to pick up cameras and other tech that might sense them.
"Wait, really??" Gaz squealed.
"Yes, but keep it down and touch nothing. Don't speak to anyone or do anything either." Aik led the way through the junk, looking for the exit.
Gaz huffed, but followed quietly.
"Where do you want to look first?" Aik asked.
"Miyuki's lab. If we can find the medbay, I can find the lab from there," Gaz said.
Aik nodded. Thanks to the arm, he was able to locate an exit fairly quickly. And since Irkens have PAKs, his arm picked them up, alerting him when there were some nearby. Of course he couldn't scan more than a dozen feet around them, but even that was handy.
They dodged a few Irkens, Gaz didn't recognize any of them. But they seemed stoic and unfeeling. Not like Irkens Gaz and Aik had seen before.
Not angry and deadly like Tak, not cheerful and easygoing like other Invaders, certainly not caring and wise like Miyuki.
Once two Irken guards had passed out of their range, Gaz looked to Aik. "What's happening?"
"I don't know. Stick behind me." Aik stepped into the open again, continuing to scan the halls for threats.
—
"Humans."
"What??" Iruz hissed.
An Irken nodded. "There are humans on board. We can't find them, but their scent is here."
Iruz gripped the Irken around the throat and held them in the air. "Find them and gut them, or I gut you!"
"Y-yes sir!" The Irken sputtered. Iruz dropped them harshly, and they hit the ground with a thud, then scrambled away to do as they were told.
—
They found nothing in Miyuki's lab, no sign of her. They found the Breach destroyed, the medbay empty, and even went to D1b’s room on the Massive. No sign of anyone.
They hid in D1b’s room to avoid a passing garrison of Irkens. Aik was using D1b’s laptop computer to look for any clues. Gaz was sitting on D1b’s bed, fidgeting with the blanket anxiously.
"Anything?" Gaz asked hesitantly.
"No. Except they didn't know to kick D1b's things out of the system. He still has access to all of the security systems from this computer. Of course he doesn't have permission to adjust anything, but…" Aik continued typing.
"But?" Gaz prompted.
Aik didn't look up from his work. "Nothing a little hacking won't fix. We can monitor the cameras and sensors, even turn them off. It'll take some time… Irken technology isn't easy to hack, but I've done it before with Tak. And since D1b has some permissions granted already, it should be possible. Then I can use all that to see what's happening here."
"How long?" Gaz asked. "Till the hacking is done?"
"It'll take me a few hours," Aik said, glancing at Gaz. "We'll need to stay here for a while. The garrison is still moving around outside. We'll be notified if someone comes too close to us. It's late though, you should get some sleep."
Gaz nodded slowly and laid down on the bed to try to sleep.
Aik continued to work for a bit, but he eventually dozed off as well. He woke up before Gaz in the morning and continued to work.
When Gaz did wake up, she seemed surprised to see Aik awake. "Were you up all night?"
Aik shook his head. "No, but now that you're up, we can head back to the ship, it's safer there."
"Alright…" Gaz said slowly.
"We'll get something to eat at the ship too, or snag something from those snack machines they have here." Aik unplugged the laptop and tucked it under his arm. "Battery fully charged, let's get out of here."
Gaz nodded and stood up, staring at the floor.
"Gaz?" Aik approached her carefully. "Are you alright?"
"I just want my brother back…" Gaz said softly.
"We're going to find him, don't worry," Aik encouraged her.
"Over a month, Aik…" Gaz muttered. "What if he's… dead…"
"We don't know that, take a deep breath, okay?" Aik said.
Gaz shook her head. "Let's just get the stupid hacking thing over with and try to find him…" She headed for the door.
Aik hurriedly stepped in her way. "Wait." He used his arm to scan the hall outside. "Alright, follow me and move quickly." He opened the door and slipped into the hall. Gaz followed closely, glancing around nervously.
Aik eventually gestured for her to stop, he held his regular arm in front of her to almost shield her, backing against the wall.
Gaz froze and pinned herself against the wall. She said nothing.
Around the corner, five Irkens were marching. Four armed Invaders, positioned around a tall Irken dressed in green.
"Spork!" Gaz said in a hushed voice. "That's Spork, he works for Miyuki!"
"Gaz, don't." Aik tried to back her away from the Irkens. They hadn't seen the humans.
Gaz quickly pulled away from Aik. "Spork!" she called out loudly.
The Irkens whirled around and spotted her. Aik managed to duck behind the wall edge, but Gaz didn't even try to hide. She ran right up to them.
"Gaz, why you here!" Spork asked frantically.
"Radio the boss, we found the human intruder," one of the Irkens spoke into a head piece. A second Irken grabbed her arms.
"Ow, what the hell!" Gaz tried to pull herself free, but they were much stronger than her. She turned to Spork to try to ask him what was going on, but then she saw he was in handcuffs.
"Move it, both of you." A third Irken forced Spork and Gaz to move.
"Spork, what's happening??" Gaz asked nervously.
"It… It a Zim, he name Iruz." Spork always spoke in broken English. "He look like Survivor Zim, but he not good."
"Aik was right…" Gaz muttered as she was forced to follow the Irkens. At least Aik got away. She didn't even have a chance to see where he went. "Where's D1b and Miyuki?"
Spork swallowed. "Uhm. My Tallest was taken to the Ukagaka Zim universe. But Iruz got there too and… no good."
"No good?" Gaz whimpered.
Spork shook his head. "No good."
"Wh-where's D1b??" Gaz was desperately trying to hold it together.
"I not know. He was taken to be asked the questions, Iruz caught him. Spork… not see him again," Spork said dejectedly.
Gaz's hands started to shake involuntarily, but the Irken holding her tightened their grip on her to keep her still. She winced and bit her tongue. "Where are they taking us…"
"To see they boss," Spork said. "They finally catch me. I the last survivor of the resist."
Gaz nodded silently. She didn't have the emotional strength to respond anymore.
And it didn't take much longer before she and Spork were both brought into the Massive control room. In the center of what seemed to be a hive of slaves, stood an Irken that looked so much like Survivor Zim. He was glaring at them with a wicked smile.
Spork growled. "Iruz."
"Hello." Iruz's voice was practically dripping with venom.
"You! You killed Miyuki and my brother!" Gaz struggled against the Irken holding her.
"Oh, D1b? Yes, he is quite dead," Iruz chuckled.
Gaz gritted her teeth to stifle an angry scream.
"You is monster Irken, you deserve to be in hell!" Spork spat.
"Wow, so very threatening," Iruz said with a fake yawn. "Look, as much fun as this is, I have a planet to destroy and I'd really just rather kill both of you now." He picked up a large laser gun. "Which one of you gets to die first…"
"You'll never get away with this!" Gaz screeched, struggling.
All the Irkens accept for the one holding Gaz took a step back to get out of Iruz's way.
"Oh my decision is made for me, nice!" Iruz aimed the gun at Gaz and fired.
Gaz winced and squeezed her eyes shut when she saw the laser heading her way. But something or someone stepped in the way and blocked it.
Gaz quickly opened her eyes in time to see Spork collapse in front of her, a hole burned into his abdomen and PAK. He barely alive, but his PAK was ruined. Pink blood was splattered everywhere.
"Spork!" Gaz screamed.
"That… all Spork can do…" Spork coughed and then lay still.
"Spork no! You son of a bitch!" Gaz struggled against the Irken again.
"Oops, I missed." Iruz shrugged and aimed at Gaz again.
The lights and computers suddenly all went dark, swamping the entire control room in black.
"What the hell!" Iruz barked.
"I don't know, sir!"
"We lost power!"
"Get the power back on!" Iruz screamed.
There was a muffled sound of a knife cutting flesh and a body hitting the ground. Gaz yelped.
"There's another human in here, I can sense it!" Iruz barked. "I can smell him!"
The presence of the humans was heading for the exit to the room. The door opened, shedding some light on them leaving. The power suddenly came back on. Lying next to Spork was the Irken that had been restraining Gaz, laying in a puddle of their blood.
Aik had Gaz in his arms and left the room, shutting the door quickly again as several lasers were fired at them. He used something on his arm to lock the door and give them time. He kept Gaz in is arms and started to run.
Gaz was trembling.
"Are you hurt?" Aik asked quickly.
"No." Gaz stifled a whimper. "He… he killed Spork… and Miyuki and D1b… They're dead…"
"Just hold on, we need to get out of here." Aik knew that by now, the Irkens had freed themselves and were chasing the two rogue humans. The sounds of their PAK legs scraping came down the hall.
"What do we do! What do we do!" Gaz yelped and clung to Aik.
"I've got it under control, you just have to listen to me," Aik reassured her, ducking around a bend. He picked a specific place in the hall and sat down with Gaz in his arms.
"They're going to find us!" Gaz was starting to panic. She tried to stand up.
"Gaz, trust me!" Aik used his flesh hand to keep a tight hold on Gaz's wrist, his robotic hand was too strong to hold her.
The scraping of PAK legs was coming closer. Gaz went full panick and punched Aik in the nose, causing him to accidentally let her go. She got up to try to run, Aik was right behind her.
There was an explosion and everything went white. Gaz's arm began to burn, she was almost enveloped by the flames. She screamed and stumbled backwards, Aik caught her and pulled her to a safe distance.
The explosion was all around them, there was no sign of Irkens anymore. But the place they were now was untouched.
The force from the initial blow was enough to knock Gaz unconscious. Aik picked her up carefully, she was burned and bloodied. She shouldn't have tried to run.
"Damn it," Aik muttered.
The initial explosion faded fairly fast and Aik covered Gaz's nose and his own, then vanished in the left over smoke. In his hand he held the detonator still. And once he was far enough, he pressed the button to trigger a final explosion to cover their tracks.
