the amount of misinformation that has been circling outside of neopets circles I swear
I see a new rumor every time
“They’re free from nft bros” Nope. Owned by one!
“The original team rebought them” God fucking no and you should not want them to, Adam Powells little meltdown over neopets users criticizing his new crypto venture is reason enough lol.
“The company was sold to Neopets Internal Teams” They sold it to the guy who used to head the former NFT project and are promising this means TNT has more freedom “under new leadership“ with “no current plans for crypto/NFTs” (This is not a promise not to make them)
One of the “brand ambassadors” who is supposed to help TNT with the knowing and understanding the userbase is some celebrity who’s wife is also a celebrity who I’ve seen people CLAIM used to be a Neopets mod. Does that sound like a neopets user who can tell the neopets team what the average user wants? No call for users who aren’t celebrities to become brand ambassadors has been made afaik.
Current Neopets mods are silencing trans people for mentioning HRT as well as top surgery and ignoring cis people talking about pregnancy, death, and surgery. (Have seen these boards go on for several hours and never get deleted even after a heated debate on one one about abortion)
There’s items and backstory on the site that are racist. Neopets users have asked these be addressed. Do you think this “brand ambassador” will address any of that? Why does the ambassador need to be a celebrity? Unless the actual intent is to have “ambassadors” who sell neopets as a brand to the potential new userbase and isn’t about “listening to the users” at all.
god can one person with a huge following please for once just reblog and acknowledge the TRUTH. (doesn’t have to be from me I’d just like the actual info to be spread!) Awareness will help us keep the worst from happening! Pretending everything is fine until it isn’t is NOT the way!
If you want the actual info on the site Neopets has a fansite dedicated to reporting Neopets news including everything TNT tries to sweep under the rug
https://www.jellyneo.net/?comments=14391
A direct quote from their article on this
“ New CEO of Neopets is Dominic Law, who previously headed the Neopets Metaverse and brokered a "management buyout deal" “
Please if you’re reading this
stop spreading misinformation
spread the real information
make your own post even
this could go either way right now
this is not a “neopets renaissance”
this is a crossroads and we don’t know where we’re going yet. It could be great, or it could be the end of the site.
(Editing my reblog in so it can hopefully get seen too, I was provided with more accurate info on the brand ambassador.)
@pirakeet Thanks! Was actually hoping someone COULD correct this :3 Cause I was REALLY HOPING it wasn’t what it seemed since all I could find was a twitter post with an attached video where he accepts it (I immediately fled twitter may be why)
[Image Text ID] Posted by tumblr user pirakeet: I’m not correcting anything, but just letting you know the “brand ambassador” program has been made available - just presumably not in the ‘john legend’ sense: https://portal.neopets.com/brand-ambassador-program and for clarity, i’ve been popping off about the difference, this isn’t a “gotcha moment”. There’s more info when you click “apply” and it takes you to a google doc [End Id]
As I said I’m more interested in the truth being spread so I hope this can be seen!
#it COULD be fine right now it COULD be#but let's acknowledge the issues we're having instead of ignoring them!#esp if you DON'T EVEN USE THE SITE FOR FUCK'S SAKE#I'm so tired#I'm a small blog trying to get people with big followings to see me and acknowledge me so we can spread FACTS instead of Wishful Thinking#neopets#I wish people with big followings would just acknowledge the facts#I'm giving up after this I don't care anymore#I've been there for 20 years maybe it's time to just let it die

I think
1. The doc author is severely traumatized, and is lashing out in a traumatized way, due to being severely triggered (which they* said themselves*). I know that doesn’t excuse their* behavior, but I also don’t want anyone thinking that this is all simply planned maliciousness against you. I think it’s a fucked up individual doing fucked up things who ought to be left alone at this rate? Leading to point:
2. Let this die. Sure, defend yourself against the doc, but I think everyone sending asks about The Doc Author And Their Actions(tm) is furthering the spotlight on a mental breakdown. I think people need to care a little bit more and stop feeding the drama. (I feel hypocritical saying that, particularly since… I’m sending this ask… but I genuinely feel it’s important to remind people that traumatized people will do bad things, and continuing to bring it up a LOT for… a very long time… is just incredibly damaging. I’d argue that’s what Doc Author has been doing for you! I hope you’re doing okay yourself.)
Genuinely I just wish everyone who was blocked stayed in their lanes, and everyone who blocked others stayed in their lanes, and that people who are interacted with from people they have blocked understood the reasons for that, and uuuugh.
but I also don’t want anyone thinking that this is all simply planned maliciousness against you.
But wasn't it though?
You make it sounds like a crime of passion. Just someone reacting based purely on impulse due to trauma.
The fact is though that you don't compile a massive callout document with sources spanning years of posts in a few hours. Even one as poorly-constructed and filled with nothingburgers as this doc.
And I recall them discussing planning on making a document about me weeks before actually posting it.
And on top of that, they've made so many posts attacking me (naming my full blog despite having me blocked) since then.
Can being triggered explain their ridiculous ravings about me secretly being Nox and also the anons? Sure. I'll buy that.
But am I to believe they've been in a perpetually triggered state over the past several months such that they have no control over their actions as they've continuously pushed their document and made hateful posts about me personally?
When can I expect them to stop being triggered and to stop lashing out at not only me, but any pro-endos who defend me or vaguely remind them of me?
September? October? 2025? 2026?
When does it end?
And how many other pro-endos are going to get caught in the crossfire between now and then?
First it was me.
Then it was Cambrian for defending me.
Then it was Nox for calling anti-endos a hate group.
Their net has slowly been widening to encompass more pro-endos who they as being aligned with me.
Where does it end?
And through this all, there's no personal responsibility. They blame literally everyone else for this drama as if it wasn't their own actions in attacking other pro-endos that started this. They also haven't corrected any of the misinformation in their document. And when their own friends came out and condemned the document, they lashed out at them, still not admitting to any fault of their own.
Even if these are the actions of someone triggered, they aren't taking responsibility afterwards. And I have every reason to believe that left unchecked, they'll continue to expand their attacks to more pro-endos who are associated with me or just remind them of me.
As it is though, I am leaving them alone. I'm leaving them alone while they make hate post after hate post about me. I'm leaving them alone while they try to convince other people what a terrible person I am and "deplatform" me. I'm leaving them alone while they increasingly go after other pro-endos like they have me. And I'm encouraging my followers to do the same. Don't send hate to them. Don't interact with them.
I'm not even mentioning their name.

Curious what your thoughts are on ppl being "obligate" polyam?
I ask because I've been debating if maybe I might be because I feel so in love with my gf rn, but... I still feel like I'm missing something. Like. She feels like a single flavor of food that I like. But, as much as I do I couldn't live off of just that one thing yk?
It scares me though, because she's explicitly monogamous, so I can't really go out and explore and try it out to see if it's for me without losing her. I don't really know what to do. Or how much longer I should stay still feeling like this. Or if I should just dismiss it as baseless anxiety and just let myself enjoy being with her.
I'm so scared to break her heart.
And like, how can I do this? How can I seriously be considering losing her just to try something I don't even know if I need or will even like.
It feels wrong, I love her this is stupid. But I just can't seem to dismiss it. I mean, I'm literally typing this in the middle of a New Years Eve party because I just can't get it out of my head.
I think what you’re calling “obligate” polyam is what I call “inherently” polyam, where, it’s like, I WILL fall in love or at least crush on other people and want to date them at the same time no matter what, it’s not a choice it’s just how I feel.
I started this blog as an outlet for my anger issues which I now realize probably stem from my bpd and just to talk about polyamory- correct the RAMPANT misinformation people were spreading, but also, to talk about the stuff no one else seemed to talk about. I’m really lucky that my polyam mutuals post about all the wonderful things about polyamory- the love, the amazing partners, the memes, etc. But that left me needing a space to talk about what I felt the most- shame.
I came out at 17 as polyam and it was awful. I was terrified I was going to lose my partner over it. I was filled with this awful feeling of being a horrible person for not “loving my partner enough” and so worried they were going to see it as them “not being good enough for me”. I mean I was seriously broken up about it.
But my partner took it in stride. We made it work. But I still felt this deep shame that ended up leading me to decide to be monogamous just for them after a while.
I even started dating my now-again-gf while dating my primary partner at the time, and although she literally dated me while I was dating someone else and quite literally knows I run this blog, I still haven’t re-brought-up the fact that I’m polyam, and that’s 100% hanging over my head, especially with how infatuated I am with someone else right now, though we’ve talked about that a little.
I’m really lucky I have people like @eevyerndracaneon and the people in my polyam discord server to talk openly about the shame and guilt that I still to this day feel about being polyam despite running one of the biggest polyamory blogs on this website.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned though, it’s that monogamous people can be a lot more open-minded than you’d expect. I’ve never actually dated anyone polyam. All of my partners have been monogamous. And all of my monogamous partners have been fine with me dating other people while also dating them.
And a few years ago, my brother came out as polyam! And it was even harder for him than coming out as gay! And once again I was lucky enough to ride on the tailwind of him coming out first as the older one and also come out as polyam. Even my best friend and I have talked about dating and having an open relationship in the past.
It’s funny, and wild, how many polyamorous people you’ll meet out in the open once you come out too. My first semester in college, I was sitting in front of two older trans guys when I heard them talking about polyamory, and shyly I turned around and asked if they were polyam and they said yes, and they were the first polyam people I had met (that I know of).
Just a few months ago I was at a concert and sat next to a group of 3 people that were all really touchy and flirty, and since they were all really obvious about it I just asked if they were all dating and they explained their polycule to me and I was just like… me! That’s me! Me too! And they were SO happy to meet me back!
A lot of the other polyam blogs on here will tell you the same thing: it’s unrealistic to expect one person to fill every single want and need you have, and can put a lot of pressure on that person to do things they maybe aren’t comfortable with.
It’s not as unusual and shameful as you might think. It’s really all about conquering that inner polyphobia, which can be really hard, and is a process. Hell, I’m 24 now, and run this majorly successful polyam blog, and I’m STILL in my discord server like “guys idk how to tell my gf I’m polyam… again… uh… imma just not rn”.
Only you can decide what the best course of action for you is. I know I’ve lived fine with choosing monogamy and feeling like I’m missing out on some of my wants/needs as a sacrifice for a wholesome relationship I wanted to keep. A compromise, if you will. I also know that not coming out to my partner as polyam was eating me up inside at the time. And that when they did end our relationship and I was able to be with someone else I did realize things I was missing from that relationship and how GOOD it was to finally have those things.
Be optimistic. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, really, it’s that there’s more of us out there than you think, even if we go by different names, but also that monogamous people really can be open-minded and willing to share a partner.

Anyway! With the two big elections this year, and the current wars going on. Here’s some ways to fact check! (I’m stealing this from social studies haha. I am not an educator in this subject email your professor or seek a greater source than this please)
Picking a source
What is the political position a news source have? Is it right wing, left wing? Is it even Marxist or hey even gives literal Nazis their opinions to voice it? Google up the news site and you will probably find a Wikipedia article of even a site saying the news source political leaning. Learning about that it’s important because political news sources will be biased.
Do they cater to a specific crowd? Political leaning and this is different while they might overlap. Do they cater to mainly an lgbtq audience? An animal rights/climate change movement one? A more religious/ethnic audience? This will help you to see through different biases.
If it is public service/gets money from the rulers (two different things), check if the current government/rulers isn’t a dictatorship/or just really shitty. One example is the Turkish public service which has been used for pro Palestine news, but you need to keep in mind they do deny the Armenian genocide and also supported the invasion of Artsakh. So be critical of those too.
Does it get funding from a non government agency? Let’s say they get funding from a lobbyist group that focus on fossil fuels. Then learning about the environment wouldn’t be as good of a source now wouldn’t it?
If you’re using a non profit organization. A quick reminder they’re also not perfect.
Also compare different news sources! Especially on the opposites of stuff.
Don’t use the big 3 Ts (twitter, tumblr, or TikTok) as a main go to for big political information unless it is from a trusted journalist with a proper education.
TLDR: there is no perfect news source. But ouch one you think suits your current needs for the current situation.
Now when you’ve picked a new source. Here’s how to check the article!
Check if the source is true. They might use misformation and even disinformation. It’s really common with far right news organizations to spread misinformation about lgbtq people. One time libsoftiktok posted how a university had period products in the men’s bathroom. While a quick image reverse showed articles saying that university were just adding free period products.
When was it written? And who told it? Let’s say a car crash happened where you live. You may hear it from person A who was on the bus while the crash happened. However there is also a chance you may hear it from person G two weeks later. One will have their information more tangled up. (And this is also a way to see if something is a conspiracy theory or not)
Is the source in general trustworthy or has it on several occasions said misinformation (like Alex jones). If it is the latter. Don’t use it
If it has had people of two different opinions together. Please make sure it isn’t like “hey person A and B!” Will you please talk about the housing crisis” and they give person A four minutes while person b gets 30.
If anyone wants to correct me or add info! Feel free to do it!

WHAT DO?!?
1. Rule number 14 of the internet. Don’t feed the trolls
I have just caught up on all 85 episodes of the Chris Chan documentary and my biggest take away was DONT!!! FEED!!! TROLLS!!! I struggle with this one. When I get rude asks I always want to respond especially if they say something fucking stupid… The ones I respond to are probably only 1/3 of the shit that I get. A lot of times they just want a rise out of us to not give them that. Sending to people or to certain confession pages even if they are nice just feed those trolls and give them fuel to the fire..
2. Does the person attacked want you to say something?
When I was attacked in April, I absolutely appreciated the people coming to my defense, especially sharing alternate viewpoint, especially in the beginning. However, after a day or two, I just wanted it to stop. Relogging post about a person in arguing just serves to give everything traction and arguing, just means we get to read more mean stuff about ourselves. Consider the author first. I am guilty of this where I want to publicly jump to my friend defenses when they are hurting but I have to consider is this being done for them, or to quell my own feelings.
3. Is the person saying the thing your friend or mutual?
Consider dming them. Especially if it’s a mater if something being factually incorrect. we all have been victims of misinformation at one point in time and I have believed things that were false about others so I appreciate a private correction. If it is a matter of opinion, it may be harder, like debate on if dark fiction is valid. However, keeping it private is best .
4. Consider the size of the issue.
Are dozens and dozens of blogs talking about it? If so, maybe your voice isn’t needed and you could reblog posts or dm support. Maybe you have a viewpoint that is helpful. Is it one small blog with 2 notes saying it? It’s probably best to move on and let it die.
Again, consider the person being victimized.
For me, the outpouring of love and public posts meant the world to me. Especially seeing blogs I followed but weren’t mutuals with or blogs I didn’t know at all come to my defense, but that’s me as a person. And that was just at the start. When I realized the fucking scale of what was happening I just wanted to stop.
I’m learning other people don’t always want support the way we want, kinda like love languages.
So, what can you do?
DO
Dm or send an ask depending how well you know them.
DONT
Be upset they don’t respond. They are likely receiving a lot of messages and although they certainly appreciate kind words, these sorts of things can be very draining and they might not have the mental energy to respond.
DO
Continue to support their works with comments reblogs, fanart or fiction or funny edits. Something not related to drama that shows you love them and publically support them.
DONT
Make the comment or whatever related ti the drama or mention it in anyway the Creator does not want to look back on the nice things overtime and be reminded of the bad things
DONT tell people every little thing being said!
I 💯 appreciated those who notified me something was said and it was BAD bc it’s a blog I never would have seen and it warranted being notified. However, if someone was sending me screenshots of every reblog and comment I’d be upset. Once the person is aware of an issue, unless asked to get info please don’t.
Feel free to add more to this! This is just what I’ve learned from my own experience and from listening to others.
I know this is a very trying time for the fandom if you need to leave or step back 100% support you. This is not fun for you anymore then you gotta do what’s best for yourself

Tired of political annon here… I’m such a bad person I am feeling tired when not only have I not even though of doing anything actionable I actually just shut up when my uncle said p******lia was going to become common because drag shows are being shown to 7 y/o how many times do I have to think what am I doing with my life before I start doing something I want good to happen but it doesn’t and I don’t know if I can no matter how much I try sorry you can ignore this I think I have to sleep before I go deeper into a dark place
If you're in a place where you're surrounded by one of these hate/alt-right campaigns it can be really bad for your mental health. These campaigns work by stirring up anger/fear and just being really awful. Definitely focus on your own mental health, if you can cut out any of this, do it.
When it comes to confronting people who believe these campaigns, that can be really difficult too. And how successful you can be depends on a lot of factors like how far down the radicalization pipeline are they? And what kind of individual relationship you have with them. Your safety should always be your first priority. If you do feel like you have the type of relationship where you could talk to someone about this, I recommend looking up guides on how to talk to people who are falling down radicalization pipelines. There are some techniques out there that have been shown to be effective. If you don't feel safe, that's OK.
Focus on what you can control. Sometimes it feels like we're responsible for all the terrible things going on in the world, but in the end we're one person who aren't in any particular position of power. But little actions do add up, so this is why I recommend small actionable things. Again, whatever you can do is fine. If you post accurate information that counters misinformation campaigns, people will see that first and when they see the misinformation campaign, will know it's not true. Or if you help out at a local LGBTQIA+ chapter or donate, you help people find community and support who really need it right now. Every small thing matters.
This can definitely have a positive effect on our own mental health. You'll feel like you'll be doing what you can.
And make sure you take care of yourself. Eat well, get enough sleep. Make sure there are positive things in your life. If you're serious about therapy, that may help too. And try not to lose hope. One thing I've learned about the far-right and their tactics is that they're very loud and they make it seem like a lot more people agree with them than do (one major example of this is bots and paid for accounts that go all over social media and argue for the alt-right.) If you look though you see a lot of people pushing back.
All the best, Anon. Take care of yourself.
(Snopes and Wikipedia are good sources for correcting misinformation and cite their sources, and if anyone else has any recommendations for good sources of good info or positivity, feel free to recommend!)

hi, feel free to not answer this or delete it if u want. i’m an anti-endo system, who’s been hurt a lot by the endo community before, however every once in a while i retake a look at both sides of syscourse and such, u know? anyways, in doing so, i’ve come across ur blog, and i want to say it seems like an awesome blog, particularly for inclusivity. u seem to be against misinfo and harassment and u help people, whether they are traumagenic or not. so thank u for being that type of blog. have a nice day :)
hey thanks! here on this blog we want to create a safe and inclusive environment for all systems. this includes both pro and anti endos (we’re all systems and we all deserve support). this is why we do try to keep syscourse off of this blog.
that being said, we’d like to say a final thing about syscourse and its presence here. it’s under a cut for accessibility (please don’t click to read if you are sensitive to syscourse!)
🐢 kip (and 🦇 kandi - this may be goths first time helping write a post here? rawr won’t be very active here in the future)
we reblogged that warmline warning post because we care about the health and safety of other systems. we don’t want anyone taken advantage of, and we encourage everyone to do their own research and come to their own conclusions. after doing research of our own, our system personally is not interested in supporting the plural association.
we try to keep syscourse off of this blog for the safety and well-being of others. i (and another member of my system) do have a syscourse blog where we’re happy to engage in discussion with all sides of the “syscourse debate” (@kipandkandicore). please interact with us there instead of here anyone who is interested in talking about syscourse!
we’re all multiple, plural, or systems. many of us are struggling, lonely, and in need of support, regardless of our stances on syscourse. there is so much hatred and anger towards each other within the plural community, and that can cause serious, long-lasting harm to fellow systems as well as really cloud one’s vision and make it harder to face facts. as we learn more about our disorder and meet other systems, we’re learning to accept some truths without dismissing the truths of others.
we believe in the theory of structural dissociation. we don’t believe that it is the only way to be plural (rather, one of many, many ways), but that doesn’t change the fact that there is research out there to back it up. we don’t believe in the demedicalization of complex dissociative disorders, but we do believe plurality as a concept and neurodiverse experience needs to be demedicalized, as there are many, many systems out there who do not need treatment, whose plurality does not cause distress, and who formed without trauma. we believe that it is hurtful and pointless to try and police the lived experience of others, and that individual systems are more capable of describing their lives than anyone else. so we will always vouch for the validity of all systems here, no matter what.
we believe that education and giving systems the tools to advocate for themselves in a singlet-dominated world will always be more productive than tearing each other down because of our differences. note that we ourselves are still learning, and while we will never claim to be experts, we will share resources we’ve encountered on plurality in all its forms and talk about what we’ve learned so far. we are always welcome to being corrected when misinformed, but our core beliefs on the treatment of others and the existence of non-traumagenic plurality are not up for debate.
we understand syscourse is a difficult, triggering topic for many, and we want this to be a positive space. that being said, we encourage anyone who wants to engage with us with intentions of discussion to hit us up over on @kipandkandicore :) we have a shared special interest in plurality and do enjoy engaging in these discussions, so please don’t be hesitate to reach out to us there.
#syscourse#syscourse tw#anti endo tw#anti endo#sorry if we got a bit rambly there - we’re actually really passionate about this!!

Ok so going out to a bigger context and a massive bugbear of mine: this is tumblr, so you’ve probably seen a lot of posts from ✨humanities✨ people that go like this.
Dumb uneducated masses: hurr durr historians lied to us! I never learned about this in school! Historians say dumb things like “we don’t know if gay people ever existed but I saw a TikTok about gay people in history. A conspiracy I think from the Man
Buff victimised wojack historians: we are not hiding things from you! We are doing important work on these topics in our theses! A tiny amount of intensive educated research would bring you the knowledge you crave! I’m a gay history PhD with gay history book ACTUALLY. You are all illiterate, and blaming us only shows your lack of education.
Another historian: god it’s so frustrating how stupid the public is when our academic publications are RIGHT THERE.
Another historian: smh it’s the way they’d prefer to get misinformation on tumblr and TikTok.
Historians in particular do this a lot. I could link you to a few distinct posts that do exactly this with 40k+ notes. and lots of sanctimonious people complaining about how the public have NO information literacy, and ALL of these complaints are PERFECTLY addressed in Ratbin and Huguenot (2001) “Gender and Ungender in Mesopotamia” which these morons would KNOW if they only (paywall)(paywall)(paywall). You have seen multiple popular posts on tumblr where extremely intelligent, kind, smart, educated people are not realising that in their complaints about their discipline’s massive communications issue, they are repeatedly demonstrating why they have a comms issue. You have possibly even reblogged it, without realising the massive flaw at the heart of the rhetoric. We usually trust historians to have good rhetoric! If they don’t, who does?
But surely this is common across academic disciplines? Well, we note that sciences have an entire professional field called “science communication.” When someone asks a science question on social media, scientists usually sprint to be the first to give the clearest answer.Scientists consider it a personal failing if the public don’t understand a key update in modern science, and will often go out of their way on social media to spread correct content in accessible ways. Science grants and funding bodies and journals require that scientists have plans to communicate, and make accessible and publicly serviceable, pretty much every piece of funded research and increasing amounts of published research. Scientists go into schools and talk to little kids and have festivals -for free- they don’t get paid for this and yet you can call up any ambassador association and ask for a lecture and get one. Science communicators pound the pavement, working as park rangers and forest school leaders, comedians and podcasters; an ENTIRE LINE OF WORK involves getting paid by researchers to translate, communicate and promote their science. There are companies and people for whom this is their paid, actual factual salaried career.
And I cannot stress enough how easy it is to get any given science PhD student to come and do any form of science communication for free. They will do it for free , and they will thank you for the opportunity.
The attitude in the sciences is “if the public don’t understand, then we’ve failed to communicate, and need to do better.” There is an entire professional field dedicated to doing this; as OP says, science museums do not scorn to stoop to the level of children.
Now I return to the image of the science PhD student, who is quivering with anticipation at being asked to talk about sea turtle conservation to small children, who will objectively never give them funding, in the true belief that it is good for society and sea turtles to do such things. We can intuit, from pop culture, the scientist personality: the belief that you can save the world. if you just get the work done and the words right and people believe you, you can save the world. We instantly see the fears and hopes of scientists from this; we can study the psychology and history of the Mad Scientist trope, exploring what happens when the motivations of this personality become no longer socially acceptable. We can see this belief that science, like a key, could open the lock that saves the world; this explains the franticness of the personality that gladly spends its free time forging different keys. The hope here is the beautiful perfect Argument, a shining radiant Key, that one presents to The Public, and suddenly they cry out and fall down and say “Of COURSE! we care about ocean acidification so much now! We will immediately overthrow everyone who doesn’t care, and fix it at once.” To this personality, knowledge sharing is survival. The more people who are educated enough to appreciate and admire and pay the scientist, the better the scientist has of realising their hopes (saving the world) and avoiding their fear (getting it wrong and failing forever.)
Now we turn to the graduate student in fine arts, and contrary to what we would think of progressive bohemian artists, we often see a different set of fears and hopes that are conservative. Conservative, fundamentally and etymologically, means to hold; to grasp; to keep; to spend small amounts very cautiously. perhaps they are seeking to curate and preserve previous works, like OP’s curators: or perhaps hoping to create valuable works of their own, to sell for a living to a special population of discerning rich people. Either way, if Just Anyone could create a work that appeals to rich collectors; if Just Anyone could declare what is art; if Just Any Object could be found to have value; if Just Anyone could look at curated objects and understand them with context and appreciation: it rather undermines the idea that collecting this education is inherently valuable. And thus we see the response: the public should educate themselves. An arts education is good to have, and probably makes more customers, but people should go and get one, rather than being given it for free; we know that most people won’t, but that’s okay, because it’s important that the Knowledge itself is curated. The best people to understand and interpret these works have won the right to do so through proper curation of the Knowledge. In a sense knowledge should be hoarded or handed out sparingly because that is how it simultaneously retains value, and ensures the good quality of the most knowledgeable people.
Similarly, history does not attract the “save the world” nerds in the same way that science does. And that’s honestly fine. It’s a burnout personality - kind of a psychological complex - too dependent on externals. The Locked Tomb does not feature the apocalypse of a mad historian.
But you can’t desire the fruits of the hard work that the science community reaps (public appreciation, attention, funding, pop culture) without doing some reflection about why you want all fruit and no work. And no, it isn’t that Nobody Cares (And Should Get An Education So That They Care More, Which They Won’t, Because Nobody Cares About Humanities Anymore, Because The Sciences Are Luring Them Away with their Wiles.) nobody cared about pretty much any part of science until someone found the key to the comms. Plastic straws in sea turtle noses, save the bees, plant more trees, feathered dinosaurs, genes that cure cancer - all images, all stories that made people care. If the sciences are better storytellers, then don’t sulk; tell a better story! Maybe more people would care about the humanities if you secured their passions as children! Maybe the fact that nobody is reading your book is giving clues about accessibility. Maybe the public don’t really read that many paywalled papers, and you should be doing podcasts and press releases and tumblr essays about them. Maybe the fact that people prefer TikTok means that YOU SHOULD MAKE A BETTER TIKTOK.
Science communication says: you don’t understand the results of my science education? No problem! Let me show you! Don’t worry - even a kid can learn it. We’ll make it fun! Where did we lose you?
While the humanities are spending far too much time saying: you don’t understand the results of my arts education? Well you should get an arts degree, and then you would. If you weren’t so stupid and easily misled by TikTok, you would have simply gone to a university library and placed a hold on my book - what do you mean you’re twelve.
If you read all this and it makes you feel defensive: good! The storytelling arts shouldn’t rest on their laurels. It should be a challenge, a provocation, the red gleam of the other racehorse’s eye as it pulls away from you. You should be champing at the bit to prove me wrong - to tell a better story at ONCE - to change the world.
I would be very interested in hearing the museum design rant
by popular demand: Guy That Took One (1) Museum Studies Class Focused On Science Museums Rants About Art Museums. thank u for coming please have a seat
so. background. the concept of the "science museum" grew out of 1) the wunderkammer (cabinet of curiosities), also known as "hey check out all this weird cool shit i have", and 2) academic collections of natural history specimens (usually taxidermied) -- pre-photography these were super important for biological research (see also). early science museums usually grew out of university collections or bequests of some guy's Weird Shit Collection or both, and were focused on utility to researchers rather than educational value to the layperson (picture a room just, full of taxidermy birds with little labels on them and not a lot of curation outside that). eventually i guess they figured they could make more on admission by aiming for a mass audience? or maybe it was the cultural influence of all the world's fairs and shit (many of which also caused science museums to exist), which were aimed at a mass audience. or maybe it was because the research function became much more divorced from the museum function over time. i dunno. ANYWAY, science and technology museums nowadays have basically zero research function; the exhibits are designed more or less solely for educating the layperson (and very frequently the layperson is assumed to be a child, which does honestly irritate me, as an adult who likes to go to science museums). the collections are still there in case someone does need some DNA from one of the preserved bird skins, but items from the collections that are exhibited typically exist in service of the exhibit's conceptual message, rather than the other way around.
meanwhile at art museums they kind of haven't moved on from the "here is my pile of weird shit" paradigm, except it's "here is my pile of Fine Art". as far as i can tell, the thing that curators (and donors!) care about above all is The Collection. what artists are represented in The Collection? rich fucks derive personal prestige from donating their shit to The Collection. in big art museums usually something like 3-5% of the collection is ever on exhibit -- and sometimes they rotate stuff from the vault in and out, but let's be real, only a fraction of an art museum's square footage is temporary exhibits. they're not going to take the scream off display when it's like the only reason anyone who's not a giant nerd ever visits the norwegian national museum of art. most of the stuff in the vault just sits in the vault forever. like -- art museum curators, my dudes, do you think the general public gives a SINGLE FUCK what's in The Collection that isn't on display? no!! but i guarantee you it will never occur, ever, to an art museum curator that they could print-to-scale high-res images of artworks that are NOT in The Collection in order to contextualize the art in an exhibit, because items that are not in The Collection functionally do not exist to them. (and of course there's the deaccessioning discourse -- tumblr collectively has some level of awareness that repatriation is A Whole Kettle of Worms but even just garden-variety selling off parts of The Collection is a huge hairy fucking deal. check out deaccessioning and its discontents; it's a banger read if you're into This Kind Of Thing.)
with the contents of The Collection foregrounded like this, what you wind up with is art museum exhibits where the exhibit's message is kind of downstream of what shit you've got in the collection. often the message is just "here is some art from [century] [location]", or, if someone felt like doing a little exhibit design one fine morning, "here is some art from [century] [location] which is interesting for [reason]". the displays are SOOOOO bad by science museum standards -- if you're lucky you get a little explanatory placard in tiny font relating the art to an art movement or to its historical context or to the artist's career. if you're unlucky you get artist name, date, and medium. fucker most of the people who visit your museum know Jack Shit about art history why are you doing them dirty like this
(if you don't get it you're just not Cultured enough. fuck you, we're the art museum!)
i think i've talked about this before on this blog but the best-exhibited art exhibit i've ever been to was actually at the boston museum of science, in this traveling leonardo da vinci exhibit where they'd done a bunch of historical reconstructions of inventions out of his notebooks, and that was the main Thing, but also they had a whole little exhibit devoted to the mona lisa. obviously they didn't even have the real fucking mona lisa, but they went into a lot of detail on like -- here's some X-ray and UV photos of it, and here's how art experts interpret them. here's a (photo of a) contemporary study of the finished painting, which we've cleaned the yellowed varnish off of, so you can see what the colors looked like before the varnish yellowed. here's why we can't clean the varnish off the actual painting (da vinci used multiple varnish layers and thinned paints to translucency with varnish to create the illusion of depth, which means we now can't remove the yellowed varnish without stripping paint).
even if you don't go into that level of depth about every painting (and how could you? there absolutely wouldn't be space), you could at least talk a little about, like, pigment availability -- pigment availability is an INCREDIBLY useful lens for looking at historical paintings and, unbelievably, never once have i seen an art museum exhibit discuss it (and i've been to a lot of art museums). you know how medieval european religious paintings often have funky skin tones? THEY HADN'T INVENTED CADMIUM PIGMENTS YET. for red pigments you had like... red ochre (a muted earth-based pigment, like all ochres and umbers), vermilion (ESPENSIVE), alizarin crimson (aka madder -- this is one of my favorite reds, but it's cool-toned and NOT good for mixing most skintones), carmine/cochineal (ALSO ESPENSIVE, and purple-ish so you wouldn't want to use it for skintones anyway), red lead/minium (cheaper than vermilion), indian red/various other iron oxide reds, and apparently fucking realgar? sure. whatever. what the hell was i talking about.
oh yeah -- anyway, i'd kill for an art exhibit that's just, like, one or two oil paintings from each century for six centuries, with sample palettes of the pigments they used. but no! if an art museum curator has to put in any level of effort beyond writing up a little placard and maybe a room-level text block, they'll literally keel over and die. dude, every piece of art was made in a material context for a social purpose! it's completely deranged to divorce it from its material context and only mention the social purpose insofar as it matters to art history the field. for god's sake half the time the placard doesn't even tell you if the thing was a commission or not. there's a lot to be said about edo period woodblock prints and mass culture driven by the growing merchant class! the met has a fuckton of edo period prints; they could get a hell of an exhibit out of that!
or, tying back to an earlier thread -- the detroit institute of arts has got a solid like eight picasso paintings. when i went, they were kind of just... hanging out in a room. fuck it, let's make this an exhibit! picasso's an artist who pretty famously had Periods, right? why don't you group the paintings by period, and if you've only got one or two (or even zero!) from a particular period, pad it out with some decent life-size prints so i can compare them and get a better sense for the overarching similarities? and then arrange them all in a timeline, with little summaries of what each Period was ~about~? that'd teach me a hell of a lot more about picasso -- but you'd have to admit you don't have Every Cool Painting Ever in The Collection, which is illegalé.
also thinking about the mit museum temporary exhibit i saw briefly (sorry, i was only there for like 10 minutes because i arrived early for a meeting and didn't get a chance to go through it super thoroughly) of a bunch of ship technical drawings from the Hart nautical collection. if you handed this shit to an art museum curator they'd just stick it on the wall and tell you to stand around and look at it until you Understood. so anyway the mit museum had this enormous room-sized diorama of various hull shapes and how they sat in the water and their benefits and drawbacks, placed below the relevant technical drawings.
tbh i think the main problem is that art museum people and science museum people are completely different sets of people, trained in completely different curatorial traditions. it would not occur to an art museum curator to do anything like this because they're probably from the ~art world~ -- maybe they have experience working at an art gallery, or working as an art buyer for a rich collector, neither of which is in any way pedagogical. nobody thinks an exhibit of historical clothing should work like a clothing store but it's fine when it's art, i guess?
also the experience of going to an art museum is pretty user-hostile, i have to say. there's never enough benches, and if you want a backrest, fuck you. fuck you if going up stairs is painful; use our shitty elevator in the corner that we begrudgingly have for wheelchair accessibility, if you can find it. fuck you if you can't see very well, and need to be closer to the art. fuck you if you need to hydrate or eat food regularly; go to our stupid little overpriced cafeteria, and fuck you if we don't actually sell any food you can eat. (obviously you don't want someone accidentally spilling a smoothie on the art, but there's no reason you couldn't provide little Safe For Eating Rooms where people could just duck in and monch a protein bar, except that then you couldn't sell them a $30 salad at the cafe.) fuck you if you're overwhelmed by noise in echoing rooms with hard surfaces and a lot of people in them. fuck you if you are TOO SHORT and so our overhead illumination generates BRIGHT REFLECTIONS ON THE SHINY VARNISH. we're the art museum! we don't give a shit!!!
#obviously obviously obviously NOT ALL HUMANITIES#etc etc#I am not stupid#it is just that one cannot blame the public for not understanding while simultaneously desiring a public that understands.#and those posts just don’t have any self awareness about it.#of course there are good art museums etc#but what are our intentions and what is the material impact of our intentions? the end.

Hello all! Welcome to my main blog! I’m Halfmouse, at least here on Tumblr.
If you’re new to Tumblr, please follow these instructions for my “person check” system:
If I can’t tell you’re a person, I will block you.
EDIT DUE TO THE RECENT INFLUX OF DONATION REQUEST MESSAGES AND DUE TO PERSONAL FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES: I realize there are a lot of people who really do need help in this world, and if you are one of them, I hope you get what you need. With that said, I have recently gotten a lot of messages asking for donations, and so far, most of them exhibit “red flags” that I have learned to look for. But, unfortunately, I struggle financially, so even if a legitimate request were to come my way, I would not be able to help. As much as it pains me to say this, if you have a legitimate fundraiser, please look to someone else. (I also realize most donation requests in messages are not real, but I feel the need to say this, because I know if I don’t, and an actual donation request for a real fundraiser comes my way, I am going to feel horrible about having to turn them away. I mean, I’ll still feel horrible about not being able to help, but at least the initial warning that I can’t help is out there.) All this to say, to all the people out there who really are trying to pay their bills/get housing/get out of a war-torn area/etc., I wish you good luck and I hope things get better but that’s most of what I can do, and for my lack of extra money, I apologize. And scammers: pound sand, stop trying to take advantage of people who want to help people in need, and stop taking advantage of horrific situations that real people really go through on a daily basis.
My main blog has many things on it. The biggest focus here, by far, is Chuck E. Cheese. I kinda figure most of you have at least a passing understanding of Chuck E. Cheese, but for those not in the know, you will be thoroughly educated if you come here. (For any Aussies who may or may not be here: he was called Charlie Cheese when there were locations in Australia, so, like…don’t worry.)
I have sideblogs! For Sonic the Hedgehog, I have @sideblogforsonic . For serious stuff, I have @serioussideblog . And for songs, I have @sideblogforsongs . I also have a sideblog where I post sparkly, colorful, bright, aesthetic, and LGBTQIA+-themed pictures/GIFs/videos called @sideblogforsparkles .
I do my best to keep my little corner of the internet safe and friendly. I expect the same from you. I’m not saying you should be perfect. I am not perfect. But if you are repeatedly going around saying and doing horrible things and not responding to people (me or others) who are letting you know that you’re doing something wrong, guess what? I’m going to block you.
Standards I hold myself and others to:
- Don’t be a jerk. No bigotry of any kind, no bullying, no harassment, and if we fight, we fight fairly and minimally.
- Tag things appropriately on any website with a tagging system so people can find what they want and weed out what they don’t want.
- Try to make the world a better place, not worse.
- No generative AI art, voices (without permission), or writing, no reposting art without permission or credit, no art theft, no writing theft. (AI voices generated with consent are okay.)
- When it comes to important, serious matters, it’s important to know some basic facts before taking action. For example, I don’t tolerate climate change denial, antivaxxers, or people treating any real-life crisis like they would a work of fiction.
Hey, if you find me breaking my own rules, let me know! If you have any solid advice for how to be a better person, let me know! If you find misinformation on any of my posts, let me know! I am open to reasonable corrections, advice, constructive criticism, ideas, and other feedback!
A few more important tidbits about me:
- I am autistic and dyscalculic.
- I write fanfics on AO3! You should check them out! https://archiveofourown.org/users/Im_Here_Reaching_Far_Across
- I’m a sex-repulsed asexual.
- I’m heteroromantic, but the only boy I am interested in right now is this guy:

Ok so i just read ur post about criticizing fics about being unnecessary and about how u should just not criticize fanfics because it’s a hobby and not ur personal perfect story. While I completely agree with u and also think u should just leave authors alone and read what u like and skip what u don’t, I just wanted to ask: so in cases like ATYD where (as far as I’ve been informed it was corrected before I read it) there used to be like harmful racist Roma stereotypes. And in a case like this what do u do? Do u still just skip the hat u don’t like it do u inform the author about what u found maybe not wrong but like misleading or sth.? I’m honestly just curious about how to deal with situations like this cause I honestly don’t know.
so, i actually just recently answered that question abt atyd here and i also talk in this post abt what i personally think is the best way to address instances where ur concerned a fic might be genuinely perpetuating harmful stereotypes.
but. basically. if u come across something that seems like a harmful stereotype in a fic, and you are genuinely very worried that it could perpetuate misconceptions, the best approach is probably going to be reaching out to the fic writer directly and privately and politely explaining your concern. in most cases, the person is probably just misinformed and not intentionally trying to perpetuate anything harmful. however, u should keep in mind that you don't personally know who wrote this, what experiences they might have, or what groups they might be a part of, and u should be open to any response u might receive from the writer. it's possible that something u view as a harmful stereotype is something that another person views as important representation.
if the writer doesn't respond or u can't reach them, for whatever reason, u have 2 options.
1 - accept that a single individual posting fanfiction on the internet may have some internalized biases they need to work through, and may have made some misinformed decisions in their writing, and just....move on. in the grand scheme of things, even the most atrocious portrayal in a fanfic is not going to be egregiously harmful irl.
2 - if u are really, really concerned and can't sleep at night because ur worrying that random people might find and read this fic and not have the critical thought to draw their own conclusions + understandings abt it, then. sure. make a post. explain that this one aspect of x fic may be misinformed or misrepresented, and request that anyone who interacts with the fic educate themselves using sources outside this one fic to learn abt the community being misrepresented. don't try to "cancel" the fic or yell at people for reading it at all--that isn't productive, and it isn't going to encourage people to actually educate themselves.
at the end of the day, fanfiction, just like any form of literature or art, will sometimes be biased or misinformed. but we should be approaching fanfiction as a community space that exists outside any consumer economy. that means giving the fic writers u are in community with the benefit of the doubt that they either had a good reason for writing the way they did, or they're simply a bit misinformed and would be open to educating themselves. and it means giving the other fic readers u are in community with the benefit of the doubt that they are just as capable of critical thought as u are, and they aren't simply going to absorb every stereotype they come across uncritically. we should start by assuming the best in each other, not the worst.

“Why are people so obsessed with whether or not Jimin asked him to stay? It’s not a relevant point at all to the original statement I made; in fact, it doesn’t even matter where my views are concerned”
Are you for real? It is relevant because one of these things is FALSE! How is it that u don’t think that it is relevant whether people spread misinformation or not? Are you serious? If it doesn’t matter to you then why don’t you stick to the damn truth and not try to make it seem like apples and oranges are the same thing? Just incase you didn’t get it before, one of these things is a fat ass lie and the other is the truth. Mistranslations are not an excuse. As a blogger shouldn’t u check your facts first before posting stuff on here, especially cuz u probably have a ton of readers who depend on ur blog to give them information? You agree with an anon who is misinformed or maybe you even deliberately lying and when u are corrected you ask “what does it matter?” Wow!
UGH.
If you’re following me this closely, you can tell based on my other answers that I agree with people saying that Jimin didn’t ask him to stay. Seriously. Take a moment to read everything else apart from what I said to that one anon. It’s the one that stands out because wow, would you look at that, I can make mistakes too.
But even if I didn’t make that mistake, Jkkrs got mad defensive instead of pointing out my mistake that I could have EASILY clarified. I get the need for accuracy, but if I’m obviously saying things to other people that conflict with it, what makes you think I meant to agree with the false translation?
Use your fucking head instead of raging at the first opportunity. Good fucking god.

I wasn’t going to respond because I haven’t had like. Any spoons for discourse lately, but I see you’re engaging in good faith. So this isn’t to start a chain of argumentation, just my response.
I definitely agree that reading comprehension is a skill and it’s not inherently ableist to acknowledge that it’s an important one. However, I wasn’t really referring to people who say that, I was referring to people who make overly cruel comments about people who misinterpreted something, to the point where it’s obvious that they’re more upset over someone misunderstanding something than they are about any of the bigoted shit they might’ve said in response.
Reading comprehension is a practical skill for those who can gain it, but it is not a reflection of morality. When someone simply misinterprets something, there is no need to get all high and mighty and make fun of reading comprehension. If all someone did was misinterpret a statement, then all you have to do is say something along the lines of “I think you may have misinterpreted this statement, you were coming from this perspective but I think a different thing was meant by it!” You don’t have to say “lol imagine not being able to read” or “me when I have such a low IQ I can’t understand what I’m reading” (actual things I’ve seen said in response, btw.)
and if they misinterpreted something and in response said something bigoted, then the problem isn’t the misunderstanding (common human experience), it’s the bigotry (unacceptable response in any situation).
my point is that being cruel to someone for something that didn’t actually cause any harm and was just a misunderstanding, is just shitty behavior. Now obviously, if someone is spouting blatant bigotry or misinformation, they should be called out.
But as someone who struggles immensely with reading comprehension of complex things, I’ve often made good faith comments and questions about something to which I received nothing but cruelty and mocking. And all it did was make me less willing to actually try to learn because I felt like shit for not being able to understand even though intelligence is not and never will be a sign of value as a person, so There comes a certain point where it’s extremely obvious that a lot of people don’t actually want to have an honest conversation and correct someone kindly and understandingly, and instead want to just feel superior to others by putting them down for no reason.
if you notice someone misinterpreting something and your first reaction is to ceaselessly mock them for not understanding something, that’s simply bullying and not acceptable just because you (not directed) May perceive yourself as better than anyone who has a harder time understanding things.
I am guilty of this many times myself in the past, and I’m not proud of it. But there’s a big difference between simply telling someone they misinterpreted something and correcting them, and ruthlessly mocking people for making a mistake that is most often a genuine mistake.
so I understand and respect what you’re saying, but I just wanted to clarify what the intent of my post was.
unfriendly reminder that using things like low IQ and difficulty with reading comprehension as insults isn’t the gotcha you think it is. using low IQ as an insult just shows how you equate ID with moral failing/human failing, similarly with those “reading comprehension on this website sucks” jokes.
i assure you, the troll you’re trying to epically own won’t care if you make fun of their IQ or reading skills, but the person with ID or another mental disability who happens to see your “joke” is now reminded that people see them as a laughingstock and not as a real person with real feelings.
i understand that many people who make these jokes have no ill intent and aren’t really thinking about the implications of their words, so im not trying to say you’re a bad person if you make these jokes, but i am saying you should reconsider your words and how they could actually affect someone else because ableism is ingrained in everything and it takes work to root out casual ableism in your everyday actions.

Do you do “cuteness”/safety ratings?
I do not. I am not a fan of the concept of “ratings” blogs in general, honestly. There’s a couple of reasons for that.
Firstly, I am a Tumblr Old, and every ratings-type blog I’ve ever seen that existed to tell people if animal content was okay or not has imploded over time. Sometimes that has been related to their content/topic of choice, sometimes not. It happened when the first blogs like that showed up, and it’s still happening now. Either way, they seem to be a direct path to endless drama, and I want none of that, thanks.
Second, ratings blogs have to be really, really tightly curated to the expertise of the blogger in order to be trustworthy, accurate sources. And when you’re in a position of being seen as an expert on animal stuff by the internet, it’s incredibly tempting to step outside your area of expertise to pass judgement on things. People like your opinions and want to hear them! You’re respected for your knowledge! It is a seductive, seductive path to being far too comfortable speaking outside your wheelhouse.
This is actually part of why the blog slowed down a few years ago and eventually went on hiatus for a while: as it got more and more popular, people wanted me to cover more and more things, and I ended up kinda paralyzed by the need to do so much research in order to respond to those requests. I didn’t want to spread misinformation, but it was so hard to just say no and not try to answer questions. I’m much more comfortable now setting boundaries for myself about what I know enough to address and what I don’t have the appropriate credentials for.
Third, to do any successful science communication - which is what running a rating blog effectively is - you have to know what you don’t know! This is something that comes with time and professional experience in a field. You can’t speedrun it or skip it. And if you don’t know what you don’t know on a topic you want to write about, you’re at high risk of spreading misinformation. Guess what? I know this one from experience! There were times I overreached in the early days of WADTT, either because I didn’t know I was unaware of something, or because it just felt so good to have people want to know what I thought! (My goal is to find the time to go back and share those posts with updated, corrected content and commentary).
As mentioned above, I do a lot of work to be comfortable with not knowing things. I either do the research needed to find an answer when I run into an unknown, admit I don’t know and can’t answer, or simply don’t engage with the topic if I can’t contribute productively. This is where a lot of ratings blogs run into issues, as they generally reflect just the individual knowledge of the blogger(s) writing them. There’s a big difference between having an opinion that you discuss with your friends, and having an opinion that you share with thousands or tens of thousands of people. If you’ve shared an incorrect opinion about something in a way that’s amplified across tumblr, even if you fix your mistake publicly, there’s no way to stop the earlier misinformation from continuing to spread.
And fourth, there’s that word I keep using: authoritative. Content that provides a rating is very black-and-white. This is bad. This is good. Do support this, don’t support that. Unfortunately, there are so, so few situations involving animals are actually that clear cut. This is especially true when we’re talking about recorded animal media, like photos, videos, and even documentaries, because a lot of the context has been removed. So that authoritative perspective? It’s really just someone on the internet telling you what you should believe.
I’d rather teach people how to think about animal content and draw their own conclusion. People gain so much more knowledge from engaging with the concepts themselves. If you just give someone an answer about a video being ok or not, for instance, they don’t learn how to assess the next one themselves. But if you teach them what questions to ask, how to work through what they want to learn, how to assess context, and where to find the information they need, they’re able to do it themselves with content in the future. Teaching and encouraging independent analysis of animal media is a much better way to stop misinformation or unethical content from spreading compared to just telling people some stuff is bad and they should stop sharing it.
So nope, no ratings here. Sometimes I’ll comment on things that my professional background allows me to be comfortable having an authoritative opinion on (e.g. the danger of unmonitored interactions between dogs and babies) but most of the time, I’m going to tell you what I see, what I know, what I don’t know, and what my thoughts are and why. My goal in running this blog and teaching people is about the journey, not the destination.

The problem when people say that they’re tkkrs, and they don’t engage in the vile rhetoric they often times spew + they say they love Jimin is the fact that there is no accountability and it makes them complicit to the other shit tkkrs do.
I’m not even defending jkkrs because they have a problem of their own, BUT the difference is that a MAJORITY of people who love and support Jikook call each other out. Whenever we see misinformation being spread we do our best to correct it and snuff it out and we come with facts and receipts. We hold each other accountable so that we make sure Jungkook, Jimin and Tae are humanized and not seen as characters in an AU.
So even though you - anon wants us to believe that tkkrs are nice and pro Jimin, the reality is that because your breed continues to be toxic, continues to spread lies, continues to harass people when the narrative doesn’t fit to your advantage, and continues to fetishize and I want to make it clear IT IS fetishizing, that even though they’re “nice” you’re also all silent.
The fact that your solution is to block and report but not try to correct the narrative not only proves the way you are complicit but it shows that looking away from the problem IS why tkkrs are so toxic.
And I’ve been an ARMY for YEARS, YEARS, and no matter how nice you tell me tkkrs are at the end of the day, as you said, anon, it’s used as a way to “de-stress” and ship fictional/non-fictional couples together, it invalidates the point you’re trying to make because TAE, JUNGKOOK AND JIMIN are real people. People that are living in an ANTI-LGBTQIA+ society that doesn’t accept them. So for you it might be merely shipping them but for actual QUEER PEOPLE our lives are not a fucking way for you to live bi-curiously or join in the “camaraderie” as you so eloquently put it.
And the fact that you bring up the point that people just want to claim Jk or invalidate him to fit a narrative is precisely the issue. JUNGKOOK is a real person, not someone we covet or “ship” with Jimin, he isn’t a stand in for us to fuel our fantasies, he is a person THAT WE listen to and respect and support.
Miss me with that bs that some of you are nice, esp when the nice ones I’ve met in my 5/6 years of being an ARMY talk and think about Tae in inappropriate ways AND in fact do use Jungkook as way to fantasize some weird ass shit, because the moment that Jungkook does something to show you all that DOESNT FIT YOUR NARRATIVE, you all throw him under the bus. Not a single tkkr has been speaking out about the mistreatment that JK’s getting rn, and you want us to believe you see him as a person and that you’re nice?. Go and talk about important shit, not about how it’s a flip of a coin to trust tkkrs……..
Stop coming to our safe spaces and taking to us, leave us the fuck alone, why can’t you all just stay in your lane and not interact with us?!. TF???!
Because it's you... and I love you. And I agree with you and everything here. Imma post it even though I closed the topic. @chikooritajjk summed it up nicely. Imma just also add that it's not a flip of a coin to just trust anyone honestly. The amount of people I trust on this app I can count on one hand. And yall know who you are 🥰 I've yet to find a tkkr that ships taekook and doesn't let the harmful narratives spread around continue to be spread around. It's kinda like how people say "its not all men" when women talk about our experiences in the world and when the #/me too movement was happening. "It's not all tkkrs" gives the same energy. I understand where everyone is coming from here, but it is what it is. If it's not you, then you don't need to defend tkkrs or shipping. If you aren't doing these things and you are standing up against it or trying to call people out, then you don't need to get upset. No one then is talking about YOU. But if you aren't doing those things, then you are part of the problem too. And that goes for all shippers too.

ooooooo oh no i'm a spooooky endo system totally here to oppress you instead of just trying to exist without being harassed and suibaited by anti-endos ooooooo. lmao get fucking real. unless you got some actual screencaps proving what you just said you're just talkin' out of your ass
Good evening, follower of batm0th. Here’s the post I was working on for a while.
I may reblog this post in the future to include more stuff. Long post up ahead! Additionally, if there’s any trigger warnings that should be on this but are not, please let me know
First check out @endo-death-threats. There is also @reblogging-ableist-posts where you can search the tags for ‘dissociative identity disorder’ and ‘other specified dissociative disorder’ to find plenty instances of endogenic ableism. @sysmedsaresexist tends to post screenshots of endos being hella shitty. There’s also @justanothersyscourse who’s got lots of good sources, and occasionally corrects misinformation.
Anyways!
Do you know about the Empowered Multiples movement? It was a movement started by people who claimed to be systems without trauma. They attempted to demedicalize DID/OSDD, dissociative trauma disorders. Why would you demedicalize a medical condition? So you can make it harder for them to get help? Did you know that this movement started with DIDOSDD systems who rejected recovery? Your movement is rooted in anti-recovery.
You’ve seen all the medical terms that pro-endos like to steal right? System, alter, switching, fronting, dormancy, intergration, splitting, protector, persecutor, little, caretaker, etc etc. It’s all supposed to be medical terms for systems but endos have stolen and appropriated anything they possibly can.
‘Traumascum’ is a term that some pro-endos like to use. Do I even need to explain why that’s messed up?
‘Sysmed’ is also a term that endos like to use, going off the use of transmed. This is transphobic for comparing gender identity to a mental illness, and comparing a mental illness to gender identity. The use of the term as a negative connotation means... What? It’s bad to medicalize systemhood? You want to demedicalize these life-changing disorders? You DO want to bar these people from the help they need? And what for? Just do you can feel better. Trans systems have voiced their concerns about the use of the term, yet they are ignored and silenced because they disagree with pro-endos. Here is a very well thought out post on it
Have you heard of tulpas? They are a sacred buddhist practice. Yet pro-endos have appropriated the hell out of this practice, and conflated it with systemhood. Here is an explanation full of sources on the subject
I’m sure you know about the recent doxxing that’s happened. At least 3 anti-endos were doxxed, all of them POC and minors. Doesn’t seem like much of a coincidence, honestly! Dramaticsyscourse is one of those who were doxxed. Rape and murder threats were sent as well
Account I believe to be deactivated, stealing from systems. More here
Here is an example of a pro-endo admitting to ignoring the concerns of a system who pointed out their ableism.
Here is a pro-endo calling a system the r slur and telling them to die
Plaindamndisgusting is a pro-endo who loves to harass people unprovoked!

This is a really big one honestly.
QueerAutism tends to just make claims and avoid backing it up
A pro-endo singlet’s infantilization of a system voicing their concerns
More infantilization, bonus of being incredibly condescending
@/queeradhd is a pro-endo singlet who’s voice is lifted above systems because they lick the boots of endos
@/Sophieinwonderland is the one of the most supported voices in DID/OSDD talks, and yet, she doesn’t have any dissociative disorder! She said it herself! She’s mostly supported by endos. They will really do whatever they can for the sake of validation. Also, here’s her making excuses for egging on hallucinations and delusions
More on encouraging delusions. Don’t try to tell me this person suffers from psychosis or schizophrenia, having something doesn’t excuse you from ableism to it
Endo supporter encouraging denial
They really treat this disorder like a gender
I’ve deleted the reblogs after the original post was taken down due to the current situation, but while anti-endos were being doxxed, an endo decided to make a blocklist. Potential victims, whoopee!
Fetishizing japanese people for the sake of making up an origin(kawaiigenic)
This is straight up wrong. Dissociative disorders ARE trauma disorders. The reason it doesn’t list trauma as a requirement is because this disorder is meant to make you forget trauma. Separating dissociative disorders from trauma disorders is extremely dangerous and roots systems in denial. This user went on to tell people trying to correct their dangerous misinfo that they shouldn’t interact. Here is a well made post explaining it, using the DSM.
So many systems have been manipulated into heavy denial of trauma, symptoms, dissociation, and everything to tell themselves they’re endogenic. I do not have the words to describe how dangerous and harmful this is. You guys are all about believing lived experiences with no criticism or scrutiny whatsoever no matter what, right? Well, believe these ones, then. Here is more on the damage pro-endos have done to systems
There’s another blog I know that receives so much shitty harassment from endos, but I don’t want to show that right now cause they’re going through a hard time atm. They don’t need any more of this shit
The only thing that matters to endos is validation, and you MUST believe and support anything they say, no matter what. Don’t ask for sources or anything,or you’re a bigot because you don’t immediately believe anything you read on the internet. If they make a claim they are right, they’re always right, if you disagree you’re wrong and everything psychology has researched is wrong, they are the exception to reality because they said so. They can and will silence and talk over disabled people, POC, trans people, ANYONE necessary for validation. And here you are, proving my point, trying to silence my concerns over what you’re doing. Disregarding and disbelieving the things I tried to tell you.
Minorities ONLY deserve to be heard if they support you.
You may say you’re ‘just trying to exist’, but really, just be claiming to be endogenic you’re spreading dangerous misinformation.
And ultimately, there’s no real proof that being an endogenic system is actually possible. The ‘sources’ you have are demanding we believe whatever you say, misinterpreting actual resources, biased websites, and anything else that isn’t legitimate.
We are not insisting that you need to fit a super specific box of what a system is. Systems are diverse! We’re only asking you to fit the BASIC CRITERIA. If you do not fit the basic criteria, you are not a system, and you should stop talking over us.
The main concern endos have is simple validity. The concerns anti-endos have is the demedicalization, stigmatization, and dangerous misinformation about systems.
Some other instances of endogenic harassment:
(In that last one, QueerAutism is coming after someone unproked, then misusing the term gaslighting, which is insensitive to gaslighting victims)
Shit sent to memoriesofthecircularroom:

https://memoriesofthecircularroom.tumblr.com/post/678851430416842752/jfc-i-was-being-genuine-no-need-to-be-an-asshole
Can’t wait for some pro-endo to come and talk over me again because I only deserve to be heard if I validate them.
Thank you to everyone who pitched in for this post! If anybody has more to add on, feel free to do so
