Hi hello yes please let me tell you about Joel SmallishBeans, my absolute favorite little big & tall & handsome guy that I just want to put in a jar & shake up.

He comes off a bit conceited at first as he’s frequently going on about how great he is, but if you pay a attention for even a moment, you realize he’s actually a kinda insecure, socially awkward dork who compensates by living under ten varying levels of irony. This man is allergic to being genuine with the overwhelming majority of people, but occasionally lets something slip & immediately follows it up by denying it &/or insulting whoever heard him, getting supremely flustered & most likely running away.

Thing is, this dude is competent af. He’s an amazing builder & pretty good at pvp & you sort of cannot tell if he’s totally aware of this or not because he’s buried so deep under The Ironies. (Huge caveat: he sucks at traps. This man cannot make & execute a trap on his own to save his life.)

Once he goes off, he will just get more & more unhinged & desperate in an attempt to complete his goal & unless he dies beyond coming back, he Will just keep Going.

He is a Wife Guy, which I say with the utmost affection & positivity. He really doesn’t seem to be doing it as a bit, he really just seems to love his wife & genuinely isn’t threatened at all by her being awesome. Joel holds Lizzie in the highest esteem & would do almost anything for her. (If you haven’t any of their videos together, please watch the one where they’re stuck in a 16 chunk world border. Hello Hermitcraft/Last Life/Empires enjoyers. I’ve got this idea for a huge fanfic project that I can’t get out of my head, so I’m gonna write it. Basically its a isekai-ish thing where the hermits get transported into a fantasy alternate universe at war. The members of Empires SMP as well as some others from Last Life are inhabiting the world as well. I’ll post more details on the fic as I flesh it out more, but first I need yall’s help. I’m somewhat new to the Hermitcraft fandom and I don’t know some of (most of) the members as well as I would like. (And as far as empires go I’m pretty much a noob.) When I write I always try and get the characters as accurate as possible and so I thought I’d ask you guys. “oh it’s no prob- daniel?” you stop in your tracks, laying your eyes on your highschool crush. you could’ve sworn you were in love with the man and suddenly all those feelings resurfaced, though it had been years since you last spoke.

“oh my gosh y/n? how are you? it’s great to see you.” daniel says hugging you kindly.

Hot take and u can yell at me but I didn’t like the whole “her brother and friends know Hazel has fairys” ending but I also think it rlly fits her? Like I feel like Hazel is such a people person and she loves to share the things she does w other people. She cares about her friends a lot as they made her feel accepted as well as her brother, and cosmo and Wanda have become an important part of her!! Her wishing for them to know makes sense! It’s also a good finale if season 2 dosent get picked up

but I also feel like she’s too happy ? Like it sounds mean but whenever timmy even had one ounce of happiness outside of his god parents it would almost be the hatchet right away. You had to be truley miserable to have god parents. It’s also been 10,000 years in fairy world and times could have changed, but I wish we had some one liner about why she keeps her fairys/why she’s allowed to be so happy with them! (Although I know for realistic terms they were prob tryna fix the whole misery mix that was timmy turner constantly which I’ll be honest is fair). Her brother and friends knowing she has godparents feels like almost the last straw? But then I’m reminded her parents are kinda emotionally neglectful and while they love her can miss out on cues that cosmo and Wanda pick up on. Sorry I’m just rambling-

My point is the ending feels to perfect, but that’s kinda the whole point of it too. That she’s building a life for herself and is slowly becoming happier by herself, and her godparents being a secret is not needed in the show anymore, while in the OG one in order to keep timmy miserable it is. I have problems w the show but I also think I have a bunch of nostalgia in me and can have a bias, and I think the new show is objectively better written in a lot of ways then the later seasons of the OG show

Lately I’ve been wondering a few things about… stuff. Specifically mental stuff. I’ve always known I was a bit different than the others, but lately it just seems more prominent I guess.

Like for example, I’ll be staring at my screen of my computer, knowing I have a collage paper overdue… and yet my damn body won’t move. And it does this constantly. I can’t hardly think of doing something I don’t wanna do (ie collage work, basic chores, ect) without feeling like my insides are gonna collapse. I’m currently kissing a ton of things because I can’t bring myself to do it.

I’m worried about bringing this up to my parents (who is till live with) because I’m afraid of what they might say. I’ll prob get taken to a therapist, but if they diagnose me with something I just. I don’t know. My whole life has been built around “the good kid” and being the overachiever. For gods sake I graduated with more credits then needed in highschool, I could have graduated early!

I took duel enrollment (collage + high) and missed out on a bunch of teen stuff like parties and being studpid because my older subs were like that. And I had to be the “good one.” I’m worried that if I get diagnosed with something big, it’ll change how my parents view me.

Sorry it got heavy. Just something I’ve had on my mind for a while.

Meet Me at Midnight—The Complete Guidebook

So I just had several epiphanies at once…..I think Taylor might’ve given us a guidebook for her entire plan this yr (and possible coming out?) several months in advance w the release of Midnights (very mastermind of her). Looking at the vinyls and bejeweled mv again this becomes evident. I’ll explain (Also please see this excellent analysis as it provides lots of context and evidence that aligns w this theory).

The moonstone vinyl is obviously related to bejeweled and is a light blue representing the 1989 era. Others have pointed out the numerous 1989 references in the bejeweled mv: rising to the 5th floor, 2013 vsfs aesthetic, lots of light blue, short hair, NYC vibes, her ghosting the prince and living her best single life, etc.

Moonstone symbolizes light and hope and new beginnings. These things have been shown symbolically in the recent pap walks. Light and hope: the sunshine rings. New beginnings: 🦋 on the jeans and no beard. There’s also the connection to the feminine: the girl squad. Cyclical change: her returning to the 1989 era w her squad boyfriend-free; the tides, moon, and sun also undergo cyclical change (blood moon lunar eclipse?).

A clock can also be thought to undergo cyclical change and Taylor chose to use this as the main symbol that represents Midnights. Taylor has said multiple times "It's a clock, it can help you tell time" which now I'm thinking means it can literally help you know when she's gonna make certain moves, like dropping the beard and returning to the 1989 era for example. TN posted this during the Midnights promo. The clock is split into 4 quarters. The moonstone/bejeweled vinyl is the first quarter which I believe we have just exited and I'll explain why shortly. This vinyl contains the numbers 12, 1, 2, 3 which could be related to "exile ends in 3...2..."

Going clockwise we end up in the 2nd quarter—blood moon or glitch. If the 12 hrs represent 12 months, then each vinyl or quarter of the clock would represent approximately 3 months (Jan-March, 1-3 for the moonstone vinyl which adds up bc the toe breakup was said to have happened mid March). I know the pap walks were done in April so this might be more of a rough outline for events. This means a “glitch” would happen roughly April-June…A blood moon represents chaos, disruption, and change, hidden information rising to the surface (gee kinda sounds like what’s happening right now 🧐). The lavender vinyl is also in the 1st quarter and seeing that it’s a song abt bearding it makes sense. But it also seems like this vinyl is supposed to be completely separate from the main 4 vinyls so it could have a different meaning. There are a bunch of great posts analyzing the blood moon/glitch, see here and here.

Sidenote: More on the bejeweled mv numerology and symbolism—she enters the moonstone vsfs-esque room on the 3rd floor. The clock Taylor’s sitting on is pointed at 3. There’s a ton of speak now easter eggs bc 3rd album. There’s 3 step sisters instead of 2 like in the original Cinderella story. The Queen Pat scene shows multiple motifs we’re all familiar w—angels, lions, a queen/royalty, an eye?? There’s probs a ton I’m missing. But yeah all that to say it seems she’s trying to connect bejeweled/1989 era 2.0 to the number 3 or March and to one leo VS supermodel angel woman. So it’s almost as if KK was still a part of this new 1989 era despite being absent from the pap pics.

Next vinyl is mahogany which would presumably take place from July-Sept. The last date scheduled for the eras tour is in Aug which would fall in this quarter. Strength and resilience are needed during this time? There have been a ton of exile, 8/3 references lately.

The last quarter/vinyl is jade green (Oct-Dec). It represents serenity and tranquility, perhaps symbolizing the peaceful acceptance of any ensuing consequences of making a life altering decision? Dec would be the 12th hr on the clock. So could New Years be the “last page” where we finally meet the real Taylor? I mean it is one of the most important midnights of the yr. In that post I mentioned earlier others pointed out how the Cinderella story fits into the general themes of Midnights. I think Taylor keeps using Cinderella imagery bc once the clock strikes “Midnight” on New Years the facade will be gone—“Shred my evening gown” // “Dappled w the flickers of light from the dress I wore at midnight leave it all behind” // “Spring breaks loose the time is near…moments that we stole on begged and borrowed time” // “You know when it’s time to go” // “If you wish to romanticize the woman I became then say you’ll remember me standing in a nice dress.” She’s telling her fans that the Taylor they love is a carefully crafted persona and the real her is not nearly as pretty and will be disillusioning to look at.

Furthermore, Taylor has really emphasized that she rejects the notion of a picture perfect 1950s life. "She would've made such a lovely bride what a shame she's fucked in the head" // "He wanted a bride I was making my own name" // "Picture perfect shiny family holiday peppermint candy" // "All they keep asking me is if I'm gonna be your bride.” Also think of all the wedding imagery she has used lately. "The bride was willing to risk it all." This video of her in a wedding dress singing champagne problems. The countless speak now easter eggs which would be overkill if she was just simply trying to tease a re-record. "Don't say yes run away now." I think she's saying that she's going to shred her wedding dress and the heteronormative fantasy swifties want for her and burn her house, a symbol of her life’s work, past selves, and closet, to the ground. Bringing it back to the serenity/tranquility symbolism, others pointed out in this post that in the eras tour wildest dreams visuals she looks perfectly content, peacefully sleeping while the world burns around her. She’s finally ready to shatter her glass closet and break free from her cage.

Jade is also the “Gem Supreme”: king of my heart; “Jewel of Heaven”: angels roll their eyes, no rules in breakable heaven, halo hiding my obsession, etc you get it; stone of the heart: again king of my heart, lover. This vinyl could be related to snow on the beach—“I searched aurora borealis green….your eyes are flying saucers from another planet.” Perhaps a reminder that she’s setting off but not without her muse?

With all this in mind I think it’d be good to revisit the Midnights prologue.

Of course this could be completely wrong and if she tours internationally and into next yr then it wouldn’t really make sense to come out yet. It could also be the case that the clock is meant to be read a different way or represent a 2 yr period rather than 1 yr. And maybe sometimes it’s meant to be read backwards instead since there have been some references lately to things being reversed? Idk what do you all think? Please feel free to add onto this !!

You hated living in Florida especially during hurricane season. It sucks that the season is June to November. Usually, rolling your eyes whenever someone from out of the state would say “you were so lucky to live near theme parks and beaches!”

Florida had its charms sometimes, but this was not one of them.

Classes were cancelled and the university was going to be closed for the rest of the week. Maybe even into next week.

“Fuck.”

You turn over to see your Chem lab partner, Lee Chanyoung, with his head in his hands.

“Oh shit,” You pause from putting away your pens. “don’t you live on campus?”

He nods as your grimace. You didn’t know Chanyoung well as you two were just lab partners – friendly with each other but not friends.

“Can you go back to your parent’s house?”

He shakes his head. “They live out of the country.”

“What about your friends?”

Another head shake, “They’re throwing a hurricane party so it’s not safe.”

“Ah.”

You continue packing up as you think over everything you wanted to get perishable hurricane snacks. You had a bunch of bottled water, batteries, candles, fans, and flashlights to hold you over. Since you’ve lived here all your life you knew what to expect.

You’re taken aback as he looks at you with sad puppy eyes. You’re conflicted you feel terrible as you don’t think he has a car, and the university wasn’t going to turn into a storm shelter. He would have to travel to the nearest storm shelter, but then again you didn’t know him well.

“I can pay you!”

It would be nice to not have to buy your snacks as you need to get gas too.

Letting out a sigh, “Let me ask my roommate.”

He throws himself out of his chair, hugging you and repeating “thank you”.

“I haven’t even asked them yet.”

Chanyoung hugs you tighter as you smile at him. It was nice to embraced by the soft spoken tall, pretty boy smelling like warm vanilla. You lean back when Chanyoung begins moving his head a little too close for almost strangers. You didn’t want to scare Chanyoung off by kissing him like the touch starved person you are.

You drive the both of you to your favorite grocery store to grab snacks that Chanyoung graciously paid for. Then filled the last quarter of your tank and some extra in a gasoline container. The two of you got to spend quite a bit of time together due to the business of the street, store, and gas station. Learning the basics of each other like favorite movie, tv show, music, chips, and candy.

Hours later, you were finally outside the door to your apartment.

“So yeah, I luckily live far away from any evacuation zone. The worst that can happen is a power outage or flooding both seem likely to happen.”

 Chanyoung hangs onto your every word as you give a quick tour of your place, skipping your missing roommate’s room.

“It’s best to stay away from windows so the living room is the safest. Let me just quickly fill up some buckets with water.

When you’re done, you find that Chanyoung has turned the couch into a pillow fort. Your extra blankets are used as a makeshift ceiling and pillows as makeshift walls. Crouching down to enter the fort, Chanyoung is sat to the right with a bag of your favorite chips opened and his laptop set up with his favorite movie.

He smiles as he pats the seat next to him, “Since you said you haven’t seen it yet.”

Sitting next to him, he starts the movie. It’s actually pretty nice to have this opportunity to spend time with him despite the unfortunate circumstances. You’ve always thought Chanyoung was attractive and thought the universe was playing some kind of sick joke on you when your lab’s TA made you partners for the semester. You wouldn’t get any work done if he was in the Chem lecture as you.

“Have you texted your parents?”

“Mhmm.” He says in between chewing. “They’re asleep. Right now, because of the time zone.”

 “This must be scary for you. This being your first hurricane and all.”

He shrugs before turning to look at you. “I’m glad that I’m with you.”

Chanyoung shifts in his spot as he gets closer to you forgetting about the chips.

“It’s a little embarrassing how it took a natural disaster for me to gain the courage to talk to you.”

“You were nervous to talk to me? Why?”

“Because I like you.”

If you were in a movie, the camera would zoom directly into your face as a little animation of your heart would jump out of your chest. Chanyoung likes you. He. Likes. You.

And you like him back.

“I like you too. I have since the first day I saw you in lab.”

Chanyoung giggles at this as he closes the laptop on the forgotten movie, grabbing your legs to put them on his lap.

“I knew we had chemistry.”

Normally, you would cringe at the pickup line, but you let it slide because it was Chanyoung. You take the opportunity to drape your arms over his shoulders as he leans closer.

“You know, there’s not that much to do during hurricane. It’s just us, in the dark, in the couch pillow fort.”

He raises an eyebrow at your innuendo and closes the gap between your lips. The kiss started off sweet with a simple pressing of lips upon another, bit it became heated when you tangled your fingers in his hair and began pulling. Chanyoung’s sweet moans filled your ears as you sneak a hand down to grasp his bulge, teasing him with your fingernails.

He pulls away with a pout, “Don’t tease.”

“Don’t be easily teased.”

Well! First of all, I think it would be more interesting if they're in the midway point of their journey? And I feel like it'd be interesting if they were stuck (more like an intentional thing by Fazco techs) as Sun physically, with Moon able to pipe in as usual.

I feel like they'd get along with Fool best, you're so right! Theatrical, and very playful, though maybe a little less disrespectful and debonaire than Fool tends to be fjfjfj Fool would prob call them something like Charming because of Sun's prince charming tendencies

Also they are in direct competition with Fool for draping their big coat on Cricket's shoulders pff

They would get along with Soleil for exactly as long as it takes for Sol to realize that Moon is almost always online, and then they would not get along at all, oh boy. Well, I say that, but it's more like Sol would try and convince Sun to do without his counterpart (impossible, they're not quite an Eclipse but not quite two people) , and the boys would think it's all in good fun to trade elaborate insults with Soleil. Who I feel calls them something like Jekyll and Hyde from then on pff

On a more angsty note, they spent a lot of time in complete isolation, so they probably get overstimulated easily, and a little manic as a result, oop. Like a lot of the bots, they would probably be confined to the Mill itself.

Sun will intentionally try to let Moon control their body. It doesn't work quite as well and still looks like Sun visually, but it kind of gives an uncanny 'puppet' vibe to their movements. It makes Moon much less dangerous - poor guy can't get fine movements quite right

Okay. Okay. In light of the opla news, here is genuinely how I think opla s2 is going to break down (I know everyone has made post like this and I probably have at some point in the past too, but this is my predictions.)

I genuinely don’t think they’re going to do Alabasta. They could do a speed run of enter the grand line to get there, but I don’t think they’ll do that, if the pace of s1 was an indicator. There’s a few reasons but tbh I think the biggest is politics? If I was a Netflix exec and someone asked me to approve a script RIGHT NOW politically, and the script was about resource exploitation in the Middle East, I would uhhh probably reject it. I honestly think they’re going to do Loguetown through Drum Kingdom and leave it there for the moment.

So it would go:

Ep1: Loguetown that uses the character moments to catch us up to speed, get the audience reacquainted with the straw hats, plus smoker, plus put buggy and Alvida back on the board. Smart money is on a barto cameo. If they take their time, really cycle through everyone, episode will prob end with Luffy on the stand. (Smoker gets the logo treatment since buggy already got one lol)

Ep2: escape Loguetown -> reverse mountain -> early laboon. Again, hindsight will add a lot to this, at minimum we’re getting another binks no sake Easter egg, if not a full blown human brook cameo. Episode ends somewhere about 2/3 of the way through them in the whale. I could see them padding this quite a bit, just knowing all we know now. (Laboon gets the logo? Maybe??? I could see them giving it to Roger or Crocus too)

Ep3: Leave Laboon-> a lot of vivi plot -> enter whiskey peak. Party sequence. Start of the night attacks, high tension, zoro fighting the town drawn out into a huge sequence. Like a big ass choreo moment. Probably ends on the “luffy vs zoro” cliffhanger. (Vivi gets the logo)

Ep4: if if if they’re smart, they’re going to have robin in whiskey peak early, not necessarily introduced with Higaram’s assassination attempt. This episode would be quite a lot of her. Rest of the whiskey peak fights, the full baroque works breakdown, the miss all Sunday intro, leaving town, AND her giving the Alabasta vs little garden deal. I think if they’re writing this the way I think they might, she’ll either follow them to little garden OR she’ll be at Drum Kingdom, just to keep her around a bit longer. Like really drive it in that she’s spying on them. (Robin gets the logo)

Ep 5+6: little garden. I don’t think they can do it in 45 minutes, I think they need both parts. (Big brain move with the logo treatments to have one be Dorry and one be Broggy). This is pretty straightforward, idk. Excited to see zoro cut his legs off. Here’s also the start of the crocodile breadcrumbs, but I can see them using Robin as the face of baroque works a little more to utilize the actress.

Ep 7+8: drum island. This way, they only have to animate chopper for 2 episodes, 7 will probably get the basics of the backstory, and 8 will have the rest of how hiriluk dies. We could possibly see some Blackbeard info here. I’m still team “detective pikachu” style chopper. End the season on the Sakura tree happy note, set up early Alabasta. (Chopper gets one logo, Hiriluk or Kureha gets the other) Wapol as the big bad sucks though which is why I can see them injecting either more BW, Smoker, or Blackbeard into Drum.

I think the is season is going to feel a lot like season 1 did, like they’ll have the quick pace of going to a bunch of places the first portion, then 2 longer stories. But I don’t think they’re actually doing Alabasta properly. Also, I think we’ll pull back from Buggy and Garp, but they’ll still have their moments.

I’m pretty firm that I don’t think they’ll ever get past skypeia (a fact that makes me sob for the loss of opla franky but it would be a MIRACLE if we ever even got to w7. But I could see them doing it if they distilled seasons 3 and 4 in a certain manner. I just don’t think it’s likely, knowing how many years this’ll all take at the pace Netflix makes shows. Can talk more about this if someone asks lol). I’d love to be surprised tho.

If they’re still in casting, plus accounting for the writing hiccup of the writers strike in preproduction, we’re probably looking at a late summer 2026 release? It’s a Loooooot of cg though, between Luffy, chopper, little garden, and drum kingdom.

whats your favorite programming language?

ooh that’s hard mind if i go for a bit of a rant? (also i might use some terms you don’t know you can usually find them by googling “<langauge> <concept>” or smth similar or you can ask me)

tl;dr rust is my favorite

so my first language was javascript(/html/css). and it’s a *horrible* language for tons of reasons (that’s a separate rant). but it’s gotten a bunch of nice features recently and i’ve found myself almost liking it somehow. i’m like half convinced it’s stockholm syndrome but who knows. it’s not really a contender for my favorite per se, but i might be most comfortable in it? it’s certainly my favorite scripting language.

the language with the best syntax imo is swift. i love it bc it feels very well designed and the syntax feels very intuitive and clean coming from javascript (as in it fixes some warts i don’t like about js/many c-family languages). one thing i particularly like (and miss in literally every other language) is the ability to infer the object that a property is being applied to. that’s kinda confusing without an example so basically:

let color: Color // some other stuff color = .green // instead of Color.green

it’s super minor but i love it so much and it’s a shame fewer languages have done something similar. i don’t really have many other thoughts on swift though since i haven’t used it in a while. it gets a bad rep as an “apple language” bc they made it, even though it’s open source, has its own organization, and can run anywhere. but bc of that it doesn’t have an amazing ecosystem for running outside of apple devices, so no one does it. it’s a chicken and egg problem. anyways. i want to use it more to try it but haven’t gotten around to it.

okay haskell i’m not very good at it i learned it recently but i absolutely love the functional style. i miss it in all other languages. especially currying. i love functional programming but i have a hard time when everything is perfectly pure. also monads are super cool and i love finding them in other languages. oh i also miss function composition. a lot. it’s so ridiculously useful. i think i’ll enjoy haskell much much more once i get used to it.

finally, what i would say is generally my favorite: rust. it’s very well designed, and i love the zero-cost abstractions. basically (the rust website explains it much better) they mean that rust is about as fast as c, and much faster than any c i could write (and probably as fast as any c an expert could write). i love having everything be so fast but also not having to worry about a ton of low level details eg memory management. (i can’t write a c program for the life of me without leaking memory, causing undefined behavior, or both 💀). perhaps my favorite part of rust is the ecosystem and tooling. cargo (the package manager and build system) is absolutely wonderful and just works™. like literally always. i have zero problems with dependencies and compiling and running and even cross compiling*. and the ecosystem is equally amazing. there’s a crate for pretty much anything under the sun and they’re all open source!! i love how i can just go and look at the code behind the libraries i use just by clicking on “go to definition” in my IDE. and it’s not uncommon for me to be able to understand it too!! and there we go end of rant rust is fun.

\* with one exception: when the rust code links to c code. which is mostly pretty rare but does happen.

actually i lied about ending the rant. i should probably mention python. not because i like it, but bc you prob know it, or at least of it. i’m neutral on it. i don’t know it very well. i wouldn’t say it’s bad, but it’s also not very good. the biggest thing it has going for it is that almost everyone knows it. and it’s a fine scripting language. i’m just not a huge fan personally. (one of my friends would murder me for saying this lmao they love python).
