Before describing being semi verbal if you are fully verbal:

Hate when people try to describe being semi verbal as just "its when you have speech loss sometimes! :) " no , semi verbal isn't "sometimes speech loss" other wise it would just be "speech loss episode " or something , no semi verbal is a permanent state , semi verbal is more like : have difficulty specking not the way people seem to think . Easiest explanation is : unreliable speech all the time , I can talk but its hard for me , its more than just "speech loss sometimes" its like need words but the thought of the word won't form and I feel like my mouth is wired shut like forcing it to open to make a word. I just seen this description of it and please stop trying to simplify being semi verbal when you aren't and are actually describing it incorrectly as just "losing speech" . Being semi verbal doesn't equal "just speech loss" . Even when I do talk I have a very specific way of talking , a bit hard to explain but a lot of pauses obvious struggling , I've seen a youtuber that is also semi verbal and I talk like them more or less

I'm so curious about your thoughts on soulmate au's those are such a guilty pleasure, especially the creative ones

I love soulmate au's so much, omg. It's pathetic, but I like the idea of two people being meant for each other and always drawn to each other.

I think it makes for some excellent world building as well, my favorite ones are where you have romantic and platonic soulmates and it shows. I read a botw one where Link had colored hand marks on him from each of the champions because they were all soulmates as well.

It also is interesting from like a societal standpoint, because if the knowledge that soulmates exist and are accepted widely is true in some of these au's, how does culture and stuff change with that mindset? Are non-soulmate parings shunned at? Is it common to find your soulmate, or is it rare? If it's common, are there like classes or industries dedicated to people finding their soulmates? If it's rare, how do you cope if you have a partner and then find a soulmate? Are you instinctually drawn to the other person or is it just a case of the universe connected you so figure it out?

That, but how does soulmate au's translate into different cultural settings? Especially ones with arrange marriages as the norm. What about a individualistic vs. collectivist culture? Are all cultures expected to now change because of the introduction of soulmates? Are things like interracial, different caste, or queer relationships no longer considered taboo in some places because of soulmates, or are they still looked down on? And then it can also lead to questions about expectations.

If your soulmate is a bad person, such as a violent criminal, are you expected to stand by their side? What if they're like, a fascist??? A dictator??? What if they abuse you, are you expected to stay by their side because "you're soulmates", or can you leave? Are you shunned by society now if you do???

Uggggh there's so much to ask and think about and I love it, but also very simple "we're just meant to be" stories slap too.

folks, dont do this. like, one, my a/n on coping skills thru the last like five updates make it abundantly clear that i am going to Major Medical Bullshit and if there is ever a good reason to put a creative project on hold, its to recover from almost dying several times in a short span

but also, there is never any reason ever at all full stop, to include a line in ur fic comment to this effect. if you assume something isnt going to be updated ever again, you keep that to urself before slapping it at the author is a damned good way to ensure it doesn't get touched again. its passive aggressive and shamey, and while i dont think it was the intent of the commenter to read that way, it still fuckin sucks. the rest of the comment was lovely appreciation for my smut and characterization. it could have easily started with "i gotta say" as the lead in instead of the above and it would have made me excited and joyous to touch this project again now that im starting to feel like a whole human again, after, you know, almost dying a lot
