Über Adam und Heide (und Boris?) - Oder warum der Mutter-Sohn-Konflikt in EdN großartig inszeniert war

Vielen Dank für diese zeitgeschichtliche Einordnung von Adams und Heides Backstory, @opheliagreif!

Leider war Tumblr heute Abend sehr, sehr zickig und hat mich nichts als Reblog zu Ophelias Post hinzufügen lassen.

Da ich aber schon ein bisschen was geschrieben hatte, das ich gerne für mich archivieren und mit euch teilen möchte, hier jetzt also ein eigener Post.

Besonders beim zweiten und dritten Schauen der Episode mochte ich es sehr, dass EdN diese ungelöste/unlösbare Problematik zwischen Heide und Adam nochmal in den Fokus genommen hat, ohne in ein reduktives Schwarz-Weiß-Denken zu verfallen. In diesem Zusammenhang lohnt es, glaube ich, meine Tags aus dem Juni 2024 nochmal in Gänze hervorzuholen.

Das, was ich zu EdN den Entwicklungen in EdN zu sagen habe, folgt nach den Tags, die ihr gerne skippen könnte, wenn wir da sowieso ähnlich denken. 

#ich klaue mal teile der tags weil ich sie wichtig finde <3 und erweitere ein bisschen ...#ich glaube es lohnt sich nochmals klarzustellen dass eine solche objektivität#ein solches verständnis für die situation der mutter nicht von dem kind in dem szenario verlangt wird#wenn die mutter nicht aktive mittäterin sondern auch opfer ist hat sie nicht so viel mehr macht o. handlungsspielraum als das kind#den kindern wird dieser fakt - meiner beobachtenden erfahrung nach - auch relativ schnell/früh klar

#was nicht bedeutet dass sie alle (nicht)handlungen der mutter gutheißen#sie sehen nur auch dass die große veränderung/rettung nicht so einfach durch die mutter herbeigeführt werden kann#auch das erwachsene kind kann theoretisch und im allgemeinen um die komplexität solcher situationen wissen#ohne zwingend verständnis für die eigene mutter aufbringen zu müssen - denn wissen und fühlen sind zwei ganz verschiedene dinge#stabat-mater hat es auch schon gesagt#aber im angesicht dessen was man so hier und anderswo liest lohnt sich bestimmt es zu wiederholen#damit ihr bei der nächsten unterhaltungmit den karens und günthers dieser welt sofort die gegenhalten könnt#die flucht aus häuslicher gewalt ist schon emotional komplex - logistisch/praktisch erscheint sie für viele frauen unmöglich/vielzu unsiche#denn auch schon der unbeobachtete nicht vom mann kontrollierte zugang zu internet handy und auto ist oft ein echtes hindernis#man braucht dann auch noch: transport - geld - schutz - hilfe - finanzielle perspektive - mut - selbstwertgefühl und noch so vieles mehr#wobei tatsächlicher schutz vielleicht am schwierigsten zu finden ist - es gibt in deutschland notorisch zu wenig frauenhäuser#not so fun fact: auch das frauenhaus kostet geld - tagesatz so um die 12-15 euro pro person der ganz oder anteilig gezahlt werden muss#frauenhäuser werden von tätern regelmäßig gefunden - in trennung lebende frauen werden regelmäßig opfer von femiziden#oder dem was die presse gerne erweiterte selbstmorde oder 'familientragödien' nennt#muss man nur mal in die(regionalen) nachrichten und berichte schauen#es gibt natürlich auch männliche opfer von häuslicher gewalt (gewalt in der partnerschaft) - auch durch frauen als täterinnen#aber ganz egal wie die situation im einzelfall im kleinen detail aussieht: sie ist schwierig und oft mit todesangst verbunden#um es mal drastisch zu sagen warum sollte man dem kerl der das eigene kind und/oder einen selbst fast totgeschlagen hat NICHT glauben#dass er auch vor ermordung nicht zurückschrecken wird wenn man ihn verlässt -in seiner 'ehre'/selbstbild verletzt - die fassade fallen läss#um in so einer ausweglosen situation tatsächlich zu gehen muss man zumindest glauben dass man realistisch geschützt werden kann#dieser glaube an die postitive wendung ist oft nicht mehr da - depressionen angstörungen und trauma sowie ptsd sind ein thema#schon die offiziellen zahlen als spitze des eisbergs sind erschreckend und entmutigend: ungefähr fast alle drei tage ein femizid in der brd#darüber dass misogynie in allen lebensbereichen fest verankert ist - aber besonders in unseren frauen- und mutterbildern und den gesetzen

#die frauen hyperregulieren und bestrafen aber nicht effektiv schützen müssen wir im angesicht dessen was ich hier und anderswo#immer mal wieder lese und höre leider auch immer noch sprechen. zur verbindung zwischen rechtsruck und dem erstarken offen frauenfeindliche#tendenzen und praktiken reicht ein blick in einschlägige parteiprogramme oder auf gesetzentwürfe in republikanisch geführten bundsstaaten#dass die überhöhung und idealisierung der mutterfigur über jahrhunderte auch immer eine perfide taktik gegen geleichberechtigung und#weibliche selbstbestimmung war und ist - ist auch hinlänglich untersucht worden und sollte allgemein konsens sein - ist es aber leider nich#dass kinder häuslicher gewalt noch schutzloser ausgeliefert sind als erwachsene versteht sich auch von selbst#trotzdem kann besonders die hyper-identifikation mit dem kindlichen opfer dazu führen und verführen dass die erwachsenen#zu ca. 90% weiblichen opfer nicht in ihrer komplexität und tragik (und auch schuld) gesehen werden - stigmatisierung und reviktimisierung#ich hatte gestern noch tags dazu warum eine nuancierte sicht auf diese fragen auch in fandom spaces relevant ist#die bekomme ich aber nicht wieder zusammen - so wichtig waren sie dann vielleicht auch nicht - denn wer mir folgt oder das hier liest#der oder die weiß ja schon dass ich mich immer für die pluralität der sichtweisen einsetze und auch in fandom spaces dafür bin dass#primärquelle/canon und headcanon unterschieden werden und nuancen komplexitäten und widersprüche aufgezeigt und nicht unterschlagen werden#danke wenn ihr das bis zu ende gelesen habt! <3#leseempfehlungen die relativ zugänglich/verfügbar sind: backes und bettoni (2021) alle drei tage & Hedayati (2023) die stille gewalt

Gern wiederhole ich hier auch nochmal den Hinweis auf das Hilfetelefon „Gewalt gegen Frauen“ unter: 116 016.

Genauso wie den Hinweis, dass das Unterfinanzierungsproblem in diesem Bereich zum Beispiel durch Spenden an Frauenhäuser o.ä. zumindest ein wenig abgemindert werden kann.

Nun aber zum eigentlichen Neuen.

Was hat uns EdN im Bezug auf Heide und das Verhältnis zwischen Heide und Adam geliefert?

Relativ viel, finde ich.

Die Vermutungen, dass Heide durch Wegschauen und Nicht-Handeln Schuld auf sich geladen hat, wurde zementiert.

Die on-screen Info, dass sie Adams Qualen ignoriert hat und Adam den Preis für ihre Entscheidungen hat zahlen lassen, kam nicht überraschend. 

Dass sie, wie wir jetzt wissen, jedoch zumindest Wunden desinfiziert hat und Kakao gekocht hat, hätte mich persönlich nach den Szenen in HdW und HdS noch gewundert.

Wegen Adams Verhalten in KdE finde ich es aber stimmig, dass Heide vielleicht nicht ganz so teilnahmslos und alkoholbetäubt nur am Rand durch Adams Kindheit gehuscht ist, wie ich es nach HdS noch vermutet hätte.

Und ich finde es sehr gut, dass sich der Spatort sich entschieden hat, die Fragen nach Schuld, Verantwortung, Enttäuschung, Nähe und Widerstand etwas komplizierter darzustellen als das in den ersten drei Episoden möglich gewesen ist.

Narrativ hatte ich in EdN das Gefühl, dass wir als Zuschauende Heide und die Entscheidungen, die sie getroffen hat, nicht verstehen, gutheißen oder relativieren müssen, um Adams Weggehen UND sein "Ich hab' dich lieb." in ihrer Gleichzeitigkeit nachvollziehen zu können.

Wer derartige Ambivalenzen nicht sieht oder aushalten kann, der/die sieht/will sie halt nicht. Das bedeutet aber nicht, dass sie im Kanon nicht angelegt sind.

Mehr Nuanciertheit in der Betrachtung hilft aber meiner Meinung nach in vielen Lebenslagen - warum also nicht auch in einem Fandom, dessen source material sich schon mehr Mühe als viele andere Formate gibt, Komplexitäten und Widersprüche abzubilden bzw. zumindest anzudeuten?

Deswegen finde ich es auch spannend (und wichtig), dass das Drehbuch Heide in KdE und EdN sowohl Details gegeben hat, die Adams zugewandtes Verhalten ihr gegenüber verstehen helfen, und dass sie ihr in der Konfrontations-/Abschieds-Szene in EdN gleichzeitig diesen Hammer-Satz gegebenen haben:

"Und trotzdem bist du wie er."

Narrativ ermöglicht diese harsche, faktisch bis jetzt höchst fragwürdige und zu hundert Prozent verletzende Bemerkung es, dass Adam ohne schlechtes Gewissen und weiteren (Er)Klärungsbedarf aus dem Bunker ausziehen kann und wir Heide (und den Bunker) vielleicht on-screen nie wiedersehen werden.

Gleichzeitig war und bleibt die (Un)Ähnlichkeit zwischen Adam und Roland ein Thema, das sich durch den horizontalen Erzählstrang zieht. Auch wenn uns EdN natürlich eindrucksvoll bewiesen hat, dass Adam mit Roland nicht viel mehr gemein hat als den Nachnamen, treibt ihn das Thema immer noch um und bleibt ein ungelöster innerer Konflikt, den er - anders als den Konflikt mit Heide - mangels Gegenüber und/oder (on-screen) Therapie vermutlich auch nicht so schnell wird lösen können.

Und klar, alle die mich und/oder mein WIP ein bisschen kennen, können sich schon denken, dass ich Adams Angst vor der 'späten Rache der Genetik' (Der König ist tot, lang lebe der König!) sowie seinen Kampf gegen die Effekte der 'Erziehung' durch Roland ein absolut faszinierendes Thema finde. Nicht zuletzt, weil ich immer noch auf ein Wiedersehen mit der zweiten Vater-Figur in Adams Leben - aka Boris Barns - hoffe. 

Und damit kommen wir zu einem weiteren interessanten Gedankenexperiment, dass die Szene zwischen Heide und Adam in EdN meiner Meinung nach ermöglicht:

Genau wie Heide hat nämlich auch Boris Barn die Verbindung/Ähnlichkeit zwischen Roland und Adam betont. Ich hoffe hier eigentlich auf eine der berühmten Spatort-Parallelen (with a twist).

Heide sagt Adam in EdN, dass er ist wie sein Vater, um ihn (vor sich selbst?) zu warnen und/oder um ihn zu verletzen (, weil er sie in Frage gestellt hat?). Adam wirkt in EdN tief verletzt und kann und sollte diese Bewertung seiner Person nicht annehmen oder zu nah an sich heranlassen. Man kann vielleicht sogar sagen, dass er in der Art und Weise, wie er den Konflikt löst, seine Mutter postwendend Lügen straft, indem er mit Liebe und Zugewandheit reagiert, wo Roland nur Gewalt und Zerstörung im Repertoire gehabt hätte.

Im Gegensatz zu Heide (und zu Adam selbst) sieht Boris Barns die Ähnlichkeit zwischen Vater und Sohn als Auszeichnung für Adam. Gleichzeitig reduziert er Adam vielleicht aber sogar auch nur auf diese Blutsverwandtschaft (und sieht ihn natürlich als Schlüssel zum Geld).  

Wenn man Barns nochmal in einer Episode auftauchen lassen wollte, könnte man hier eine interessante Parallele zu Adams Konflikt mit Heide ziehen, indem man Barns als eine weitere Person zeigt, von der Adam als Kind nicht nur manipuliert und im Stich gelassen wurde, sondern die ihn auch innerhalb dieser Konfliktauflösung mit der Feststellung/der Forderung konfrontiert, dass er sei – oder wohl treffender - doch endlich so sein solle wie sein Vater.

Spannend wäre es, dann zu sehen, wie Adam hier reagiert. Ich vermute mal nicht, dass man den Typ der einem die Finger gebrochen hat und 1,2 Millionen Euro haben will, für immer mit einem Kuss auf die Stirn aus seinem Leben verabschieden kann, sondern wohl eher mit einer Kugel durch die Stirn…

Aber wir werden sehen. :-)

Seraphine and Ophelia redraw, because they were

so fucking overdue.

I tried to draw on whatever inspirations I could find for Seraphine, but it is next to goddamn impossible to find "ancient Norse-style clothing" without getting shit from that one show that plays on the History channel, which is fine, but I didn't want to just base her on one piece of fictional media, so I did literally hours of research, then drafted a couple designs, picked one, and tried to modernize it (She isn't exactly wearing it because she has to: it's meant to be ceremonial; a Norse version of papal robes). As far as Ophelia, hers isn't as dramatic of a change, but I did move some colours around and add a few details to make her whole outfit design a bit more cohesive.

Roland said they look more like sisters now, which is good. He also said that Seraphine is the cooler sibling now, which is...less good, as far as their dynamic goes.

Personality: Very snarky and sarcastic. Suffers heavily from resting bitch face; also tends to not be able to hide it when she does not like somebody. Beyond that, however, she typically struggles with expressing emotions and vulnerability; to the point that not even her siblings have ever seen her even shed a tear. She tends to also bury a lot of her more negative emotions and feelings to "deal with it one day when she's dead". Is absolutely fantastic with kids and animals. Isn't afraid to be blunt when she needs to be and can be overly straightforward. When you've earned her respect and care, she will be the most loyal person in the world. History:

Grew up being raised by her single mother. Steven was a very infrequent part of her life early on, and was not a good or loving presence and kept a firm distance.

He disappeared almost completely out of her life after the death of her half-brother, Henry, and after his reaction to her mother finding out that she both had MS and was pregnant again with River.

Showed back up when Iris was in middle school to bribe her mother into letting her and River attend a dinner with his boss, and she met the Kaiba brothers. He tried to arrange a marriage contract between her and Seto, and it became a heated battle.

Tried to put up with it to help keep an eye on Seto and Mokuba, though fought against it the best she could. The boys became like brothers to her and River.

Her Mom and Roland worked to protect the kids and eventually fell in love with each other.

Has quite a bit of trauma from Steven, as well as Gozaburo, during the time leading up to Seto taking over KaibaCorp, all that she took in an attempt to protect her siblings.'

Started taking college credits her last year of high school and even graduated high school a semester early. Went to college on a full scholarship to get her nursing degree.

Meets Alister a year before the story starts when he begins working for KaibaCorp in the IT department (all undercover to try and take them down from the inside) and they end u pbecoming friends and later something more.
