My Journey on Blood Donation.

This is SVN Prasad (Sagar) B+ve from Visakhapatnam.

My First Blood Donation was done at the age of 19 years in a Blood Donation Camp, during my Chemical Engineering Second Year studying at Andhra University College of Engineering.

After that, I have been donating blood in blood donation camps held in college, until one of my classmates got an emergency need for blood.

I thought at that time how we can get to know the information of these emergencies.

I contacted the blood bank, who conducts blood donation camps in my college, got all my doubts clarified there, then started donating blood voluntarily twice a year in blood bank after my engineering.

Later on, I came to know about the huge need for blood in KGH and then started donating blood in KGH blood bank regularly.

I donate blood once for every 90-100 days and donated blood 51 times till now.

I always try to make aware of the blood donations and as a part of it, I created #BESTDONORS (BLOOD EMERGENCY SERVICE TEAM) WhatsApp group as well as the Facebook page and Facebook group.

I created Best Donors as an All India Group but due to flow of blood requests from various regions, I divided the group into new groups region wise and now there are almost 10 Best Donors WhatsApp groups formed all over India.

Blood Donors in my Best Donor groups are very active in responding to blood requests and donating blood almost any time.

Created those groups to motivate people and make them donate blood as a part of helping the needy in emergencies.

I am doing these as a part of social service and self-interest in donating blood.

I got some appreciations from NGOs for volunteering in blood donations and following the blood requests in WhatsApp groups.

This is my blood donation journey.
