i beg you to consider: HAYMITCH is the mockingjay.

he says in the epilogue that katniss was able to do all she did because she was smarter or luckier, but i think its really because she had the rebellious spirit that haymitch also had as a teen and she had the people around her (HAYMITCH) making sure the revolution could happen. like be so for real katniss had no clue what was happening in catching fire, HAYMITCH PLANNED ALL OF IT.

he had the vision to not let the run continue to rise on the reaping for his girl and his sister, and he made it happen despite all he had been through. if haymitch had the support system katniss had when he was in the games, it would have been done a lot sooner.

i just finished sunrise on the reaping!!! feeling really good about life and not lost in the void at all!!! i love happy endings :)

books im anticipating in 2025!!

1. sunrise on the reaping (suzanne collins) - yes this tops the list i am hunger games trash at my core. truly this is something ive been waiting for since 2018 when i first read the hunger games. i love this era of prequels from collins because shes created such a rich world to develop further and seeing more tea about haymitch is always accepted

2. glorious rivals (jennifer lynn barnes) - to be so honest i havent even read the grandest game yet but when i do at least i wont have to wait as long for this sequel! i love barnes’ work so much its so fun and fast paced.

3. not quite dead yet (holly jackson) i have also not followed up on jackson’s work since as good as dead but her way of writing murder mysteries literally just makes it feel so real and detailed its INCREDIBLE. never change holly jackson

4. atmosphere (taylor jenkins reid) - i have read 4 of TJR’s books and theyre all absolutely delectable and this one is about space which is epic!!

5. the listeners (maggie stiefvater) - im currently rereading the raven cycle so im excited to see more of maggies work because ive never read anything of hers that is unrelated to trc

6. mystery pjo book 8? (rick riordan) - this has not even been confirmed yet so its unlikely it will come out this year, but we were promised a third book in the senior adventures trilogy so ill be waiting rick
