TETHERED is a bittersweet, supernatural Irish fantasy film - and we’re so thrilled to bring it forward to a global audience. It’s a love letter to 1980s fantasy films - the golden era of Steven Spielberg - and to the rich history of Irish mythology and storytelling.

Set in rural Ireland in 1982 - and inspired by the supernatural classics of the era - TETHERED tells the story of an ethereal young woman who works in a rundown nursing home perched on the edge of a mist-shrouded lake. She tends to four strange old characters there - and needless to say, things are not what they appear to be . . .

Created and directed by Stephen T Lally produced by Siobhan Ni Chiobhain and co-written by Alessia Galatini, we are also extremely proud to say TETHERED has a predominantly female and LGBT+ crew - and a unique female-driven narrative. It will feature cinematography from the awesome Nicola Daley and a song from the incredible, Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Susan McKeown.

From director Stephen Lally: As anyone who knows me can tell you, I have two film projects I’ve been working on for over a year. The first out the gate? “TETHERED” - a bittersweet supernatural Irish fantasy film. 

It’s a deeply personal story brought to life with one of my oldest friends, the incredibly talented producer Siobhán Ní Chiobháin.

“TETHERED” is an homage to early 1980s cinema and a love letter to Irish mythology and storytelling.

It’s about an ethereal young woman who works in a rundown nursing home perched on the edge of a mist-shrouded lake. Needless to say, things are not what they appear to be …

The Crowdfunding launch on Indiegogo will be on October 30th 2018, and we truly want to build a community around this story.
